Academic tips that work for me

Hello girlies! This is a post that I have been delaying for like 2 weeks, but now it's time or me to post it. In this blog I will give you all the things I do to keep myself getting high grades and maintain the "intelligent" persona I have worked for since I started studying my college career and fortunately others see me this way now.

I do not study hevy or know a lot about studying methods, I am more into "smart work > hard work" kind of thing

My personal tips

This are my tips being an auditory person focused on being effortless

Understand your learning style: Are you visual? Auditory? Or kinesthetic? By knowing this you can apply studying methods that are efficient for you.

Pay attention to your classes!: I think the main reason I slay effortlessly my exams is because of this so I only need a quick study. You will be saving future time since your study sessions will be lighter because you will remember lots of the things.

Participate / Ask questions: It's easy, you will get points with your teachers as a great student, plus you will get your questions solved.

Put your on a place you can't see it so it doesn't distract you, for classes or when you need to study / get work done.

Study in a place when you feel comfortable, it can be at an cafe or at the library, even in your bedroom at a desk, what matters is that you feel comfortable and that you get the feel of "this is a place where I can study / do my assignments" and not feel lazy or uncomfortable by "x or y" reason. As a plus, keep your space clean and only with the necessary at sight.

Use music that doesn't distract you and you vibe with: Listen to music that doesn't have lyrics, but that's a basic by now. What I recommend you is to listen to music that you just vibe with to get your desired mood and motivation. In my case, I listen to videogame soundtracks since it makes me feel relaxed or to classical music because I fee like "that business girly", either way music helps me concentrate.

Romanticize your studies: This can mean different things to all of you reading this post, I am talking about making your academic journey fun and pleasing rather than streesing! Some ideas are having cute stationery, take cute notes, act like one of your fav academic characters, have study playlists, drinking coffee, go to the library or to cafes, dress cute for school, read, light candles, watch "study with me" videos and study vlogs, create a pinterest board, stablish academic goals, etc.

Do your homework when you have free time at school / college or do it as a first thing after your schedule, this will help you save time. Think about it, if you do it while having free time at school / college you don't need to do it at home. And if you need to do it at home, if done as the first thing, you will either way get so much free time and can focus on other tasks or activities freely.

Be organized: Have a bullet journal or use an app to keep track of your subjects and assignments. By this you will remember and keep in sight upcoming deadlines and events.

Take care of your academic relationships: I make sure that the people inside my circle of friends are girls (mainly, but boys too) who I feel comfortable, have fun with but also are similar to me in the sense that they take seriously her studies and are good teammates. Outside of them I also focus on other potential classmates that are intelligent and have similar values. There is no need to bother on the ones who don't attend classes, are irresponsable and don't even know what are they doing in the course.

Take care of yourself: Ask yourself? Will it be worth it while not sleeping enough, having a poor diet and exercise? By not letting yourself rest or have fun from time to time? By not practicing self-care? By not practicing any hobby or taking the time for your interests ? Please take care of yourself, girl, this is the lowest part of the pyramid. The reason to care is not only your wellbeing, but also because having a poor lifestyle can have bad effects for you that also affect your performance, and we won't like that.

Breakfast foods in China

Since arriving in China my typical breakfast has changed quite a lot (hello baozi and mung bean paste!) so I decided to explore some common local breakfast foods eaten in China!

包子 - Bāozi (my love) These have been an almost consistent (excluding the lunar new year when the canteens and most cafes and restaurants closed) staple of my breakfast ever since I arrived in China. They come with several fillings such as veggie, pork, seafood etc. and they can cooked in different ways such as being steamed, fried etc. Here's a more in-depth post about the types of dumplings and bāo.

粥 - Porridge (zhōu) I sometimes have porridge for lunch instead and it's a really filling meal. I get the Century Egg Congee with Chicken - 皮蛋瘦肉粥 (Pídàn shòu ròu zhōu) and it's one of my all time favourite meals.

煎饼 - Egg pancake (jiānbing) Popular also as a street food, this is a thin crepe type pancake with an egg, veggie, spice, sauce and sometimes meat filling. The actual filling varies as you can customize what veggies and spice level you'd like and whether or not you want meat.

热干面 - Hot and dry noodles (règānmiàn) I honestly had no idea about this dishes existence until a while ago, probably because it's a regional dish originating from Wuhan which is kind of far away from my location. These are spicy and dried noodles which are actually eaten without a broth unlike many other noodles. They seem pretty interesting so if anyone tried them before do share your experience!

桂林米粉 - Guilin Rice noodles (guìlín mĭfĕn) This appears to be another regional dish from Guilin, Guanxi as I had no idea that this was a also a pretty popular breakfast dish. Apparently it's not the noodles but rather the broth that they're cooked in that makes them special, with the actual recepie varying across the region. Someone should do a long weekend trip vlog (pondering on this) to Guilin where they just go from store to store trying these noodles and trying to determine the differences.

葱油饼 - Scallion oil pancake (cōngyŏubĭng) A tasty but heavy-ish pancake imo. These pancakes are cooked with scallions (green onion) and pan-fried to give it that crispy and chewy texture. Very tasty, but it's a little too heavy on the oil for me so I save these pancakes for special occasions instead.

豆浆油条 - Soy milk and deep-fried dough sticks (dòujiāng yóutiáo) I have tried the dough sticks, and I have tried soya milk but separately so far. The dough sticks are these long deep-friend dough sticks, reminding me slightly of breadsticks but more lighter and chewier.

茶鸡蛋 - Tea eggs (chájīdàn) I adore these, my canteen serves them along with regular eggs for breakfast and the tea eggs are usually the first to go. They actually don't really involve tea, instead these eggs are cooked in a mixture of chinese five-spice powder (pepper, cloves, cinnamon, star anise and fennel seeds), soy sauce, and black tea leaves, although some recipes leave out the tea leaves. They have a relatively strong smell so I usually grab some for breakfast on the weekends or in the canteen at lunch if there are any leftover after breakfast. They are also quite cheap, one egg is around 2 yuan so around 0.30 euro, making them a pretty filling and affordable breakfast food.

stan started touching a similar tune on his guitar, as you focused the camera on the instrument.

"how are you so good at this?" you smiled

suddenly you could hear someone walking near the entrance of stans bedroom.

"oh shit, i think its my dad."

you immediately covered the camera with your hand.

blackness could only be seen from the videos perspective.

a door creak could be heard from the distance.

"stan, check this new song im writing!" his voice sounded raspy, he was intoxicated, one bottle on his left hand and a microphone on the other.

randy took a sip of his beer quickly.

"god damn it dad! when are you gonna stop that whole lorde thing!"

you moved your hand from the camera and focused it on randy.

he was wearing a red gala dress and a brown-ish wig.

"makes me feel so good~ i could dance forever! because i am lord-" randy's sentence got cut off by stan grabbing his shoulders and moving him off his room.

"ok dad, stop, youre embarrasing me." could be lowly heard as he shut the door off and the video finished.

Kyle

i always felt like kyle would have a youtube channel where he posts skits and short videos of his life!

which means together you would post vlogs and short clips you guys recorded with your friends.

apart from those, since kyle is very interested on guitar hero i feel like he would also post his best scores on the game and little game plays of his.

mainly the channel is filled with small moments from both of your lifes, since you and kyle only wanted to keep your memories on a small archive channel:)

as you started recording the screen turned from a black screen to suddenly seeing kyle's own face.

"wait, are you recording?" kyle questioned.

you nodded in agreement.

both of you had gone to a nearby cafe area to have some lunch together to study for some really hard math exams.

"kyle, I'm gonna send this to my mom. act like you weren't smoking a fat joint earlier," you joked as you zoomed the camera closer to his face

kyle's expressions went from an ear to ear smile to a poker face.

"WHAT? I WOULD NEVER DO THAT!" kyle spoke loudly as he put his hand in front of the camera so his face couldn't be seen.

"dont send that to your mom, y/n! I'm gonna have a bad impression on her!"

you turned the camera to focus your face. "don't worry mom, he is a very studious gentleman," you said whilst moving once again the camera and recording kyle's long study-notes.

you laughed softly while turning off the camera. you'll save that video for later...

Cartman

cartman obviously would have a reacting channel.

however since he shares it with you he decided to also make challenge content.

such as the ice bucket challenge, eating the most spicy pepper, etc.

together you would record videos of pranks and some youtube shorts.

cartman would definitely make one of those videos where he eats the most nasty spicy mix ever, cry, and then say "no reaction."

WE DID THE ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE ⛸️🧊 (end is incredibly funny) - 3892 views.

"h-hey guys hows it going, this is cartmanbrah on another challenge!"

you moved the camera to butters standing on the freezing snow as cartman appeared slowly on frame pointing at him.

"today we are doing the ice-bucket challenge! so dont forget to like and su-su-subscribe!"

the camera got closer to cartmans face as he said the last line.

suddenly the video was cut and only butters could be seen.

he was only wearing boxers...

"come on butters just say it!" cartman shouted.

"i'm butters a-and i got dared by scott67 to do the ice bucket challenge" his voice and body shaked, he was clearly cold.

you grabbed the bucket filled with cold water and poured it on him.

the video was slow motion as the water hit butters head slowly.

"WO-AH DUDE! that was awesome!" cartman laughed.

Kenny

kenny didnt have a phone so of course he also didn't own a camera.

so when you bought a new camera you had such a great idea.

your channel mainly consisted on dumb videos of you two.

maybe it was kenny climbing a tree, or crossing the river jumping on rocks.

sometimes it was you guys just running away from 5 mad dogs following you.

you would basically do pijama parties, yoga, etc together and record

it was fun since you added some effects while recording story-times which made them more engaging to the public

"alright guys! heres a tutorial on how to see if your boyfriends cheating on you!" bebes face could be seen on the camera.

"lord, bebe! I thought we would record our hairstyles!" wendy snatched the camera away from her.

"bebe, don't worry I got your back" you whispered to her whilst grabbing a pillow slowly.

you had hit wendy on the head with a pillow.

Back when the Barbie movie came out a couple of extremely girly hot-pink cafes opened. I didn't want to go by myself (when husband was deployed) because they seemed awfully crowded during Barbie and they're downtown and I hate trying to park in downtown areas. Anyway, my husband took me to brunch at one yesterday and it was fabulous. We had actually already heard the food was pretty blah but our iced coffes were all actually very good and glittery and cute. Everything was covered in pink and glitter. I'm glad I accidentally dressed appropriately. My one complaint about this city is nobody seems to believe in french pastries. Truly I want just want a good coffee and croissant. You can find a croissant but you can't get it at a coffee shop. If you do then the coffee isn't good.

We then visited the local Comic-con. I like to look but the second hand embarrassment always kills me. Its just not really the land of my peoples. I really wanted to catch glimpses of Patrick Warburton and Zachary Levi on camera but there were so many people, I felt anxious trying to pull out my phone. I was really hoping to find some sort of sailor moon figurine. I know I can purchase them online but I kind of wanted the real life shopping experience. One of my biggest con regrets was years ago, I went to a convention and somebody had a table of unique sailor moon merch. Everything from make-up to jewelry to action figures and just small collectors items. I really wished I had purchased some of the decorative pens and compacts. I've never been to another con like it. This convention, while we are in a large city, is not the biggest convention I've been to. I think the coolest booth I found was for Teeturtle. I did find this little simba figuring which Id never seen in real life before. There was another disney 100 one but panicked at the price of both figures together and didn't buy both.

after that my husband wanted to go to a Gun show ('merica!) and I think he was a little disappointed with it. I was just kind of fascinated because it was inside a freemason hall and I'd never been in one before and it was really weird. They didn't have that many guns. They actually had a lot of scentsy and those adhd bubble fidget toy booths haha. I also saw just as many porn books there as I did at the anime convention.

but in any case the weather was actually gorgeous for once. I just enjoyed being out of the house. We also had a post wide yard sale and we drove around a bit looking at items we dont really need. We also stopped at an alterations place to get my ball gown fitted. I procrastinate too much and the dress I was eyeing was out of stock so I just chose..one of the bajillion others I saved on pinterest and it came in the mail within 24hours but alas..I have short legs and its too long.

I have poor sense of time and didn't realize our ball is in like 2 weeks..and now I have to figure out what to do about my hair. Im going to make last minute hair and pedicure appointments..or do what I did the last time and just do everything myself and wonder what I would look like if I was professionally prettied.

also, we went to a baseball game last weekend and my horrible sunburn is starting to peel off. My entire forehead and ears are flaking in small chunks going up into my scalp. Its a lot of fun.

I did film for youtube and I feel like I have enough extra stuff for a life vlog which is everything I listed here so its probably ruined.

also our facility owner apparently hates me again for something he did that I didn't do so I'm yet again counting days of which its appropriate to have a gap in my resume before we move from here.

2for1 tonight because the binnie workout headcannon out my brain in a spiral. So I present: what all the pack members have for a secondary Instagram.

Bang Chan: mix between work (upcoming snippets of songs and beats) and then nature shots, primarily the beaches he gets to see. Kinda infrequent because the boy is tired. Uses it to promote his DJ side gig even tho the boy has a waitlist of people.

Minho: kittens duh. Soondoondori are the main stars, from whatever he has personally in his phone or whatever his mom sends him. Guest cats make a good appearance too, like the upstairs neighbor’s escape artist or strays he befriends with treats.

Noona: day in the life vlogger. Primary focus is on her school work but second to that is exploring different cafes with mates. Also focuses on women and subgender empowerment in STEM

Changbin: Gym rat. Posting his sets for the day, motivation, PRs, and post workout selfies ex(1, 2). Meal prep too, but honestly if he’s gonna show food it’s gonna be a delicious cheat meal.

Hyunjin: Art. All of his art work, in all media. A beautiful little virtual gallery. Does “sketch with me” lives if he’s at home or in a quiet at the park so people can create beautiful things along with him.

Han: a vlogger, but much more interested in travel content. Shows off fun places in Seoul and he find with mates. Teams up with Noona a lot to film content. Occasional singing content or from anything he might be working on with Channie

Felix: Baking and gaming. Baking takes the foremost because that the easiest to have the most aesthetic, but since he started building his own PC he’s been documenting that. Been working on a side project on for Chan so he has something that will hold all of his projects instead of just his laptop

Seungmin: academic content. Focused to showing his life as a Bio major, the good parts and bad. Occasionally study vlogs, mostly with Noona. Tips for understanding certain topics and just over beautiful pictures of his study setup (almost always with a coffee made by Minho)

Innie: Fashion. His freshman was a little rough for him with him trying to get his footing. But he went shopping with Felix and hyunjin once and that’s all it took. Mainly now it’s his outfits he wears to work and how to make great new outfits out of pieces you already have. Occasional teacher content, but he likes to keep his ideas to himself

Nikki

Yessssssssss.

And the content, you know it'd just be immaculate.

And Chan's is like very "dad trying to figure out instagram aesthetic"

and Minho is secretly a pro because of Jisung, but he doesn't put much effort into it because he just doesn't really care

I think the whole Japan vlog series is about to be my fav TaeDo moment. Their outing is just my style of outing. That’s why i love it. Just them walking around, shopping and eating. Also the place that they went to is not as crowded as the other team? But it has a lot of interesting shops and the streets are pretty. Really makes me wanna go there.

TaeDo's trip looked unplanned but it was planned. Doyoung was in the group, duh.

Starbucks - advertisement duty, the Italian restaurant - they pretended to just notice it nearby, but Tae said to Johnny "we are at the place we visited last time" (13:15), the perfume shop. The hat and the rug shops were on the way, it was a mixed-use area (houses+schools+small shops). Actually, Taeyong named the place, so now I can google it...

Daikanyamachō, or simply Daikanyama, is a place in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan. The neighborhood is known for its small boutique shops, giving it the nickname "the Brooklyn of Tokyo." It is served by Daikan-yama Station on the Tokyu Toyoko Line.

Save to say 127 stayed in a hotel near Shibuya station. MameShiba cafe JaeWoo visited is also near the station.

You actually can virtually walk the same path. I found the school.

Anyway. TaeDo can sync well, that's why they are good shopping buddies. Tae follows Do's plan, Do accomodates Tae's interests (hand-made, hats, a dog-cafe). They know each other's antics and are not puzzled with anything about each other.

2020 Soundtrack of Life: End of Year

“Together Again” by Janet Jackson

It’s been ages since I last listened to or even heard a Janet Jackson song being played but this is one of those classic songs that you get hyped up when it randomly pops up. This song reappeared during lockdown when I was at my parent’s home in New Jersey when one of my friends had the initiative to get all of our friends from all over the world to participate in a full fledged lip dub. It was fun to be a part of this project that captured us all in our habitat during an unusual time, while promoting an optimistic message that we will eventually be together again post-COVID.

“Grind and Hustle” by DROELOE

Prior to jumping on my flight to Taiwan, I was contemplating on taking language courses in Taiwan and had been doing research by watching a bunch of Youtube videos on peoples experiences at the various programs offered. I came across a Youtuber that documented his experience taking a gap year after graduating from college. From his videos, it seemed a large portion of that year was spent in Taiwan where he took Mandarin classes at Shida for several months. He used this song in one of his vlogs and really enjoyed it as it was a very upbeat, motivational song.

“刻在我心底的名字” by Crowd Lu Upon completing my 15-day hotel quarantine, I reacquainting myself with things that I haven’t been able to partake in during shelter in place. At the time, I remembered feeling oddly naughty doing something as mundane as watching a movie at a theatre, knowing full well that my friends back in the States were stuck in their homes. This song blew up last year after being the feature song of a popular movie called, “Your Name Engraved Herein” that got five Golden Horse Award nominations. This song definitely helped round out the entire mood and feeling of the movie which was sentimental, romantic, and emotionally frustrating at the same time.

I generally don’t choose Taiwanese films to watch by choice as from the movies I’ve watched before, the acting usually leaves much to be desired but I was pleasantly impressed with this film. They had casted two relatively fresh leads that had great on camera chemistry and the acting felt natural and authentic to me. It was funny because after this movie and song blew up, I would constantly hear this song being played in retail stores, cafes and performances by outdoor street performers where it got almost borderline annoying.

“怪天氣” by YELLOW, 9m88 One of the things that I missed during lockdown was taking my biweekly dance classes at Alvin Ailey in New York City. When I got to Taiwan, I was looking into dance studios in my neighborhood and came across one called “Jimmy Dance Studio” through Youtube. I was sold after watching this dance video from one of their hip hip instructors that used this song in their choreography. I am a huge fan of this sort of style which is more smooth, groovy, and jazzy. In the States, I have found it really difficult to find instructors who have this style so I was pleasantly surprised to come across this on their channel. This led me to taking a few one-off classes before purchasing a class package.

“Butter” by HowZ Upon arrival, it didn’t take long before my Spotify playlist inevitably began populating with Taiwanese songs. Discovered through the radio feature on Spotify, ”Butter” by HowZ was one of the first few songs that I saved from a more local artist. I can’t say that the lyrics are particularly well written but the song is smooth and just oozing with… dare I say, butter? When I attended my first live music concert in Yuanshan, HowZ coincidentally happened to be one of the guest performers and that’s when I was able to officially put a face to the name.

“Joy” by FKJ I love all of FKJ songs because they expertly integrate jazz, groove and hip hop into their songs and it especially sounds amazing in a concert setting. I remember after taking the workshop of one of my hip hop instructors from Jimmy Dance Studio, he extended a public invitation to his students to come attend a performance in Yuanshan that he would be DJ’ing at. I was probably the only one who attended from that group he extended an invitation to but I thoroughly enjoyed it as it had a very “underground” vibe to it. This was the first concert I attended by myself and “Joy” was one of the first few songs that was played to pre-hype the crowd before the performers came on stage.

“I think too much” by Christian French At Ultra (a music festival that happened in Taiwan last year), I met these two English teachers and for one reason or another happened to be discussing a lack of authentic Mexican food in Taiwan. They recommended a decent place called ‘Twinkeyz Tacos’ that was one of the best that they’ve found in Taiwan. I ended up going the next day and happened to take a few live photos of both the food and interior design. Later in the day, I was reviewing photos and because the photos were live photos I caught of snippet of this song being played in the background. I spent an embarrassingly long time with the help of my awesome roommate from New York dissecting the lyrics to this song. I related to this song because in certain aspects of my life, I know that I can be a huge over-thinker which is a trait that I believe I’ve acquired from my mom. Over the years, I have conditioned myself to think less in the greater aspect of things because they don’t actually matter, but I related to this song because there was a lot going on in my mind at the time that provided a lot of unnecessary stress in my life.

“Never change” by enjoihu I first heard of this 18-year old independent musician when first attending one of my favorites bars in Taipei called “Draftland.” That time we went there was some sort of ongoing collaboration featuring both a local graphic artist and musician (in this case, enjoihu). I am a huge advocate of these sort of community-oriented events as they are engaging and adds a level of change to a given space which promotes retention. I remember specifically taking note of enjoihu’s playlist in the second room on the first floor and thought his mix completed the concept of that space very well and gave a rather nice ambient mood. I have since followed him on Soundcloud and I’d say his music is such a mood to me as his work is inspired by the lofi genre, and is my favorite combination of lofi, classical notes, rap and old school hip hop. In my mind, he is considered to be the Tennyson of Taiwan.

“睡不著” by 壞特 ?te This artist was one that also gained a lot of recognition from a local perspective last year and I would commonly hear her songs more often being played at local coffee shops as her style is more mellow, artistic and more suited for those sorts of chillax environments. I applaud her for being able to create such a distinct brand for herself as she never shows her face as its oftentimes hidden by an oversized sunhat. My friend once went to a dinner and told me that some relatively well known female artist with a big hat that covered her entire face was performing and I immediately knew it was her. Initially I thought it was really just her aesthetic but I eventually found out that her day time occupation is a doctor the reason why she dresses like that is because she has to conceal her identity.

This is one of my favorite songs and proud to say that I can read almost 90% of the lyrics in Chinese for this song even though I still butcher it a bit during KTV. I don’t know too much about his background but I believe J.Sheon is a ABC and has since moved to Taiwan. This was also one of the first few local songs that popped up in my music playlist and I really enjoyed it as it was melodic, easy to ingest and was very smooth. Fun fact, I heard he owns or is an investor at the bar Vine Bar in 東區

Describe your hometown. What’s it like there? Very urbanized and convenient; everything you need is a quick drive away. But as urbanized as it’s gotten, I think it also lacks culture. We have one museum and the nightlife isn’t felt because even though there are many(!!!) independent cafes and restaurants, the quality of food is super so-so that people don’t really linger here. It’s convenient enough that I could probably live here for the rest of my life if it can’t be avoided; but of course I do want to move to Metro Manila sometime just so I can get a taste of how Actual City Life is like.

What did you do yesterday evening? I FINALLY reorganized my closet and got rid of the clothes I either wanted to throw out altogether, or hand over to Reena so she can sell them (she was recently scammed a ridiculous amount of money :( and I had volunteered to let her sell some of my clothes), and am just glad I finally got it over with because I had been putting it off for months lol.

Right after that I had a corndog and mac and cheese, watched the newest Suchwita episode with Tablo, watched a few old Return of Superman clips because said Suchwita episode made me miss Haru, and then spent the rest of the evening watching Cong’s vlogs.

Are you comfortable with leaving the house without any makeup on? That’s what I do every single time I leave the house anyway, unless the reason I’m going out is a work event where I have to be more dressed up than usual.

Do you have any expensive hobbies? It’s not technically a ‘hobby,’ but being a K-pop fan is definitely expensive. A bulk of my salary went to merch until BTS went on hiatus, then these days it’s been all about saving up for Yoongi’s tour (my friends and I have since decided we’re going to shoot for Bangkok tickets!) and supporting the boys on each of their solo activities, like albums and such.

What length do you like to keep your nails at? Short, or at least up til a certain length where it’s not bothersome when I type.

Have you ever felt physical pain in a dream? Yeah. Very rarely though.

What is the oldest online account that you still use? That would be my Twitter which I’ve had since 2010, but that account isn’t even my first; I had an even older one that I made in 2008 but ended up deleting since I wasn’t active in that fandom anymore.

Yep that was commonplace at the duplex we previously lived in because we lived close to the entrance of the subdivision, which made it easy for the carolers to get to us. What did you learn from your last failed relationship? The moment you feel as though you have to ‘fix’ the other person, just turn away and leave.

What’s something on your to-do list that never actually gets done? Driving to Tanay to go to this Thai place that I’ve been wanting to check out for months. The driving route just seems so risky haha.

Have you ever been really passionate about something but then lost interest? If so, what was it? Yeah, reading. I just don’t really do any of it anymore. < Yeah, same. I went from smuggling novels to school to struggling to get past a chapter. But then again I feel like my relationship with reading is also just an evolution of preferences – for a long time I thought I grew out of reading when it was really just realizing that works of fiction stopped being my thing. I still like to read and enjoy non-fiction and essays the most, but I definitely am not as passionate in general as I used to be.

Do you sleep with the TV or the radio on? I don’t have to sleep with the TV on but it has happened in the past. It literally did just last night.

What’s the worst thing about being male/female (whichever you are)? Being a constant target of harassment; the discrimination; the unnecessary pressure to find a husband and have kids.

How many work hours per week is too much for you? 70, which is basically working until midnight for five days straight. I’m used to OTing in my line of work, but I think consistently having to stay up until midnight would so quickly crush my soul.

- AHHH he attracts so many people its insane

- let's just say that... teyvat cafe would probably never go out of business...

CHILDE.

- n e ways childe is a pretty chill worker! he manages the dessert section of the cafe~

- he's actually pretty good with ice creams and bingsu-s and stuff like that! i love the idea of him doing OPCs (from zoe's cafe videos: oreo plus cookie ice cream)

- he chats with the customers a lot! and gets reprimanded because he's supposed to be doing that only during his rest breaks >:(

- childe is in charge of the music. that's it. he and thoma fight a lot over the aux chord as well LOL

- i'd like to think that he tends to almost drop stuff that thoma has to react really quickly so as to not make a mess XD he's clumsy give him a break

- albedo prefers to not interact as much with the customers, unlike childe. but that's okay... all the customers are staring at him anyways XD

- albedo does cool frappuccinos! he experiments (haha get it) with different flavours and combinations and things like that! he came up with an interesting matcha mint flavour once

- he's more of a shy smile type of person, i would think!

- he's very gentle with everyone :D nice to have around, and he's quite a breath of fresh air

- he tends to the plants outside as well~ its all lush and greeny heh

1. Finding excuses to touch each other in little ways

Mingyu always gravitates towards you whenever your circle of friends get together. He seems to always find a way to be right beside you, regardless if the space is too small for his tall build. It doesn’t matter if you're sitting on a single seat sofa, the arm rest is plenty comfortable to lounge on (it’s not). And when you’re chatting with your friends other than him? He will just stand where you are, also listening (as if you don’t have enough ears already).

But more than that, you think it’s him finding excuses to touch you. It’s not necessarily the bold hand holding type or resting his arm around your waist kind of touching. It’s more on the subtle grazing of his knuckles against yours, shoulders bumping or his arms on the backrest, warming the back of your neck (when you’re finally on a big couch).

It’s a little suspicious because you and Mingyu never established anything about crossing the boundaries of your friendship. In fact, it’s not only until recently that you started sending text messages other than the time and location of your meetup. You’ve known him for a short while. You met him through a mutual friend and that was it. You became part of their circle, him with yours. You now share text messages of what time you get off of work or what you are having for dinner. You even talk about the current drama you’re watching until midnight even though you’re already tired and could pass out anytime soon.

You honestly don’t know how it all started, but you’re not complaining. At all.

You’re not complaining whether it be him excitedly running to you once you arrive or patiently waiting until the person sitting next to you leaves and slowly fills the vacancy. You also don’t mind when he removes the stray strand of hair you didn’t notice while you’re talking and puts it behind your ear. You’re also not uncomfortable when his gaze lingers to your face when he thinks you don’t notice.

You’re no different anyway.

Your fingers always absent-mindedly find their way to the soft fabric of his shirt whenever he walks ahead of you. Sometimes, your hand rests a little longer on the back of his neck when he leans the other way to answer one of your friend’s questions while you speak to the one on your side. The bravest display of affection you have ever done was not only rubbing your hand against his back but slipping it underneath his sweatshirt where you could feel his bare skin and taut muscles because he said he was cold.

That was the first among many.

Eventually, you start grasping Mingyu’s hand when he offers it whenever you’re walking to the restaurant, park, cafe or the parking lot without the need to look behind you . He just holds them out, trusting that you’ll take it. You actually do. Every single time. You don’t see it, but it puts a wide grin on his face.

2. Slowly becoming more comfortable with each other

It was a long tiring day at work but you couldn’t say no to Minghao’s birthday dinner invitation. He’s the mutual friend that led you to meeting Mingyu and aside from the long history the two of you share, you are grateful for him bridging you and Mingyu. Plus, his party always has the best foods and drinks.

Mingyu must have seen right through you. Your shoulders were slumped and face casted down when you entered the house and removed your coat. Mingyu was waiting for you, leaning on the beam post as he scrolled down his phone to kill time. He offers you a small smile to which you return immediately. The day doesn’t sound so bad anymore.

It gets better when he meets you halfway and envelopes you in a big warm hug. Your arms didn’t hesitate to circle around his neck, face nuzzling to his neck and smelling his scent you have grown familiar with. He almost swept you off of your feet and pressed a kiss on the side of your head, but he restrained himself and settled for a hug in the meantime.

“Ahem,” you hear Minghao’s voice, making you reluctantly let go of the baby giant standing in front of you. “It’s my birthday. Shouldn’t I get a hug too?”

You chuckle and make your way towards him. You give him a hug, but only with one arm because Mingyu was holding the other one back, his fingers interlaced with yours. “Happy birthday, Minghao.”

Your friend mutters a sincere thank you. Afterwards, he sends a cheeky wink to Mingyu as if to tell him that he knows. In return, Mingyu just glares at him. You’ll never probably know about this teasing exchange, but who knows, Minghao always finds a way to have the upperhand. He’ll save this story after the two of you officially date.

“Make a move already,” Minghao says and nudges his friend who’s left alone after you excused yourself to the restroom.

“Shut up,” Mingyu groans and down the drink he’s holding. “I’ll do it soon, you impatient prick.”

Minghao just gives his signature giggle.

You return after five minutes and Minghao’s wink doesn’t go unnoticed. You frown when he snickers as he takes his leave. He must be getting drunk, you thought and find your place beside Mingyu once again, his arm around your shoulders while yours around his waist.

“What was that all about?” You ask and look up to him.

“Hmmm?” He hums and intently meets your eyes. “What is it?”

“Minghao,” you answer. “He just winked at me. Were you guys talking behind my back?”

Your narrowed eyes and sulky pout makes Mingyu smile in adoration. He shakes his head and leans down to lightly bump his forehead against yours. For a moment, your heart stops beating at the action. You thought he was about to kiss you.

“No, of course not,” he assures you and ruffles the top of your head. “It must be the alcohol.”

3. Remembering little details about each other

There’s this one habit that you noticed Mingyu has been doing. His hair is short compared to yours, but even with that length, he likes to pull some strands and twist them around his fingers. At first you were confused, but when you witnessed him sleepily do it after he woke up from a quick nap, you were sure nothing looked more endearing.

These days you do it for him and that makes him drift to dreamland in an instant. It wasn’t an intentional act. The first time was when you were in the car on the way to the rest house that you’ll be staying at with your friends. He was squirming and couldn’t seem to find a comfortable position. You felt bad because he looked like he really wanted to get some shut-eye. So without any hesitation, you gently grab his head and let it rest on your shoulder. Mingyu becomes small beside you once he wraps his arms around yours. You were only caressing his hair in the first few minutes and it’s not until later you started doing his habit. He was snoring all throughout the ride and you weren’t bothered by one bit.

On the other hand, Mingyu noticed that you only use one pillow. Not only when you sleep. You just seriously have one pillow on your bed and that’s it. You told him it’s inside one of your cabinets when he asked you where the other pair was when he visited (he goes to your place now, alone). He asked why and your only answer is that you don’t want it to accumulate dust.

“I sleep just fine with one pillow for my head to rest on anyway,” you tell him while placing the hot mug on the center table.

“Noted,” he says and pat the cushion of your couch for you to sit on. “I won’t give you any then for your birthday.”

You roll your eyes, but smile nonetheless and finally take your seat.

Mingyu takes the remote and presses play to start the movie you decided to watch. You snuggle closer to him and rest your head on his shoulder. Almost like an instinct, Mingyu wraps his arm around you without tearing his eyes from the television.

“You could be my other pillow,” you murmur under your breath and if Mingyu was too engrossed in the film, he wouldn’t hear you.

Good thing he wasn’t. Because he heard you loud and clear.

Remember when Mingyu said he won’t buy you a pillow for your birthday? He didn’t. But he did on one random day.

Your hands were by your hips as you watched him take your now old pillow and replace it with the brand new ones he bought. He must be out of his mind if he thinks he can just barge into your bedroom and change your decor. Well, you must be also out of your mind because you’re allowing him to do so.

“Can I know why you’re suddenly changing my pillow?” You question as you follow him around.

“You’ll sleep better with these,” he guarantees, fluffing them up.

You cross your arms and challenge his claims. “How do you even know that?”

“I asked around and did my research,” he answers and takes your hand to pull you to the mattress. “Doctors also recommend this particular pillow design.”

He makes you lay down and when your head hits his gift, you can’t deny the instant relaxation your muscles felt. You thought you were going to fall asleep right this moment.

“How is it?” Mingyu asks, still standing as he peers down at you. “Feels good, right?”

“Lay down with me and you’ll find out,” you boldly offer, looking him directly in the eyes.

Mingyu blinks in astonishment, but doesn’t back down. He quickly removes his slippers (the one you bought only for him) and takes the space on your other side. This is the first time he’ll ever lay beside you on your bed and you honestly don’t know how to feel. In a good way. A really really good way.

“Oh wow,” he says with a sigh and closed eyes. “This does feel good.”

You smile and prop yourself on your elbow to face him and bop his nose. “You didn’t have to buy me this, but thank you nonetheless.”

Mingyu opens his eyes before holding you close to him, your head on his chest and his one arm underneath your body. He briefly kisses your forehead and closes his eyes again.

“Anything for you.”

4. Showing that they care for one another

“I can always cook for you, if you want.”

Mingyu, being the ever all around and caring person that he is, decided to make you lunch. He cooked you your favorites because you mentioned at your dinner date (yes, you finally call your times spent together dates) that you missed eating them and cooking has been excluded from your schedule because of your lack of energy to do so.

Your smile is beaming while you fix the collar of his coat. He hasn’t even showered yet by the looks of his disheveled hair and familiar yellow t-shirt you saw during your video call last night. He probably woke up earlier than usual to cook and rush to get here.

“You know that I will appreciate that, right?” You ask and pat his chest. “But no thank you. I’m just busy this week. I will find a way to cook again.”

Mingyu purses his lips and nods. “Well, just say the word and I got you.”

You giggle and kiss his cheek. “How’s the song you’re working on with Wonwoo by the way?”

It was Mingyu’s turn to smile as he tail behind you to your bedroom. He mentioned this collaboration once (he talked about it for hours but that doesn’t matter) and his heart swells with pride that you remembered. You know that he has a lot of interests and that he’s good at doing them. Recently, he’s been immersed with music composing because he had the chance to visit Jihoon’s studio and watch him do his magic. Bringing Wonwoo along was a piece of cake because of their similar tastes.

“It’s doing great!” He answers and plops down on your bed. “We’ll try to finish recording this week and then we’ll continue from there.”

“I’m so excited to hear it,” you genuinely say while caressing his face. His eyes were closed when he nodded and smiled. He’s really sleepy now. “You can stay here if you want. Nap, shower or whatever.”

Mingyu has stayed the night countless of times. He has his own drawer of clothings, slippers, toothbrush, facial wash, soap and shampoo among many other belongings here already and if he had his own key, he can also just saunter his way in. But out of respect for you, he doesn’t. He can’t wait for that to happen though.

Mingyu doesn’t need to be told twice, immediately removing his warm coat and dropping it to the floor. You roll your eyes and pick it up, folding it neatly before placing it on the chair. You watch him slip underneath the blanket and hold the pillow you use close to him, slowly falling asleep.

You breathe out a dreamy sigh and lean down to kiss his forehead. “See you later, baby.”

5. Slowly, but surely falling in love

How do you even start finding the right words to describe how Mingyu has made a huge difference in your life? He tells you how you did all the time. You, however, can’t seem to exactly point them out. Your boyfriend (for the nth time, finally) is not bothered by one bit but you feel bad because you want him to know, you want to assure him.

He just shakes his head at you and pulls you closer to his naked torso, coaxing you to sleep and not let it get in your head. You relent after a while, giving his pecs a soft kiss and closing your eyes.

The following morning, Mingyu wakes up early because he has to meet with the director and production crew that will bring their music video to life. They took a break after the song was finished to breathe and let ideas flow naturally without any force. The song was beyond amazing and you are proud of what he and his best friend accomplished. He’s on a roll these days and you're happy for him.

Mingyu remains on the bed, picking up his phone from the nightstand to check the time. His other arm remains wrapped around you, running soothing circles on your shoulder as you continue to sleep. He lowers the brightness level before scrolling any further, afraid that it will awfully wake you up. He has the option to get up, but he prefers you to not get cranky because he left.

Eventually, Mingyu has to force himself up but not without leaving kisses all over your face. You were already awake the moment he woke up. You were just stalling for time with your eyes closed so that you can keep him close to you. When he detaches himself, you finally open your eyes and follow his body walking towards the bathroom.

The bedroom is dark from the closed curtains, but the light he turns on is enough for you to get a good grasp of how sexy and handsome your boyfriend is. You ogle at him and you’re proud of it. He has caught you numerous times already, but he admits that he’s the same with you. It doesn’t matter if you’re wearing a hoodie matched with sweatpants or a lace camisole paired with an underwear of the same material. His eyes will follow you.

After stretching your limbs that fell asleep with you, you sit up and stand from the bed as well. You put your slippers on and grab the cardigan he always leaves on the chair and drape it over your upper body. Mingyu hears your movements as he brushes his teeth and smiles at your sluggish steps towards him.

“Breakfast?” You ask while wrapping your arms around his waist, your cheek resting against his back.

“I’ll grab some with Wonwoo hyung,” he answers, rinsing the toothbrush. “Do you want me to cook for you?”

You shake your head no and plant a kiss on his warm skin. Even at this point of your relationship, Mingyu has been consistent. Always caring, always loving.

“It’s okay. I’ll probably fall asleep again in the living room once you leave.”

Mingyu turns around and wraps his arms around your waist. You lean towards him and let his body engulf yours. He kisses, once or twice, the top of your head before reluctantly letting go to shower.

“Let’s have dinner together tonight,” he says. “I’ll cook.”

“No, I will cook,” you rebut and he just shakes his head. “I love you, Mingyu.”

Mingyu almost slipped on the cold tiled floor. You laugh and he glares at you.

“I told you not to surprise me like that!” He complains and shuts the curtains closed.

You roll your eyes and walk outside to the living room.

“And I love you too!”

it had been around 14 years since ranboo moved to the UK, a year after the day you all met, to be with you tommy and tubbo. you were all thriving; you were living with your best friends, were all some of the most watched creators, you were constantly making new memories with everyone. you even had a wall full of photos of you all from every adventure you had been on with a picture of ranboo poorly edited into the background which made you laugh as you passed the wall every day. almost every evening you would all watch something on the tv, often re watching your favourite tv shows. the past few months had been pretty rough, there were days you didn’t even want to leave the house. you and tommy would fight over the smallest things. for example, a few weeks ago you were both arguing about who was responsible for forgetting something whilst out shopping.

“you were supposed to remind me to get it!”

“i told you to make a fucking list tommy, how is this my fault?”

“because i told you to fucking remind me but you were too focused on playing around!”

“you’re not making any sense tommy!”

“oh fuck off, y/n! i don’t even want to look at you right now!”

“so long tommy i’ll see you when i see you!”

and with that you left to stay with jack until you were ready to go back home, it was around now you lost your love for streaming, however jack encouraged you to stream for a little while so you fans don’t think you’ve left them in the dark. 20 minutes into the stream you felt like you were slowly loosing power even though it hadn’t even been an hour into your stream. A week later you were still with jack, that’s when you got the notification from tubbo.

bo: y/n... we’re sorry we tried our best to make him stay

boo: y/n come home as soon as possible

*tommy has left the chat*

*tommy has blocked tubbo, ranboo, jack and y/n*

bo: he blocked me??

jack: and me

boo: ...yeah

jack offered to drive you back home, which you gladly accepted. the ride was silent, the pair of you still trying to process what just happened, your friend of over 14 years had enough and left you all, until you finally spoke up your voice shaking as you tried not to cry.

“so this is how it ends heh?”

“well at least i’ll save fuel driving taking us all on adventures.”

“youre really joking at a time like this..”

“i was only trying to lighten the mood.. you know you’re being rather selfish not everything is about you. you’ve always been like this.”

“jack, i know you’re upset, i am too, please don’t take this out on me.”

“get out the car.”

“well stop the car then for fuck sake, i’m not getting injured because of you.”

as soon as jack pulled over, you got out and began the walk home, your vision became blurry due to the tears forming as you watched jack drive away. you ended up sitting in a cafe for a while to calm down. none of this felt real you pinched yourself, hoping to find out you were stuck in some nightmare. jack must have returned by the time you made it to the cafe as the community was now spamming questions on twitter asking why jack has now left and unfollowed everyone, followed by your mods telling you to check twitter. your fan base were hurt as their favourite streamers were falling apart and blocking each other. followed by them asking why you’ve not been streaming, you felt like you were going crazy as everyone else was able to stream and enjoyed doing so but you were struggling to stream with no one laughing in the background. you ended up sending a dm to your discord announcements knowing that they’ll share the news.

y/n: so long, goodbye for now. you guys have been extremely supportive over the past 15 years. however there is a lot going on right now (i’ll spare you all the details) i’m going to be taking a break for a while. after all does anybody want to joke when no one’s laughing in the background? i’m sure we’ll meet again, until then my loves!

10 minutes later you decided you should probably go home to the others, after all they’re all you have left.

“i promise to never go outside again.”

as soon as you walked into the house rather than being met with tubbo asking if you were okay, you were met with a notification.

*bo has left the chat*

he stood with his bags near the door

“this is all your fault, i can’t look at you anymore”

“you’re really joking in a time like this...right?”

“you were looking for a reason hide again.”

“trust me buddy i found it.”

ranboo pulled you as close as he could crying into the crook of your neck, you wrapped your arms around his waist as tubbo left the house. it felt like he took the happy memories with him. as soon as ranboo let go, you ran to your room locking the door trying to hide away from the situation, ranboo sat on the other side of the door not wanting to be alone.

“am i going crazy? would i even know? am i right back where i started 14 years ago?”

“y/n let me in.”

you unlocked the door and practically fell into ranboos arms, once you felt strong enough the pair of you sat on your bed, nothing could separate the pair of you right now, you both lost the people you cared about.

“i swear to god all i ever wanted was a little bit of everything all of the time. i’ve finished playing and i’m staying inside.”

“y/n i’m sorry..”

“im sorry too, ranboo, i guess this is the it.”

“at least we have each other.”

“and that fucking photograph wall.”

“that’s a problem for another night..please get some rest.”

it took a while but eventually you fell asleep in his embrace. you may have lost the others but at least one of your best friends stuck around.

i suddenly got this idea where izuku is an anonymous famous editor for youtubers who hire him to edit their videos because he’s a professional at doing it, and katsuki is an upcoming youtube vlogger who travels around the world and yet doesn’t know how to edit his own videos to save his life, so no matter what he does, he always seem to mess up even the basics of editing (part 1/??)

“i think you need professional help” kirishima says as he watches katsuki trying to drag an edited cut on to his video for the umpteenth time that day “shut up, shitty hair just give me a minute-” an error popup. “did you just.. deleted the video?” “....”

katsuki keeps trying, he even watched tutorials on youtube (while skipping important segments ofc because he can totally do that all on his own!) but his patience is wearing thin until kirishima recommended him to someone who’s known in the youtube community for their famous editing skills

“..deku?” katsuki stares at his screen showing a youtube profile with the name deku as their username and an icon of all might with edited-in sunglasses “okay look, he may seem suspicious to you, but i gotta tell you bakugou, he’s legit, i’ve seen his videos and they look awesome!” well katsuki will be the judge of that despite this deku having 5 mil+ subscribers than him!

the blonde spent the whole day watching deku’s videos which mostly consists of amvs (anime music videos) and games, especially the ones that required a lot of effort to make, plus he even made tutorials! so he gotta give him credit for that, but alas, katsuki is still somehow having trouble following directions and gave up on the latest tutorial video on how to add an easy transition

when kirishima came to check in with katsuki, all he heard were multiple clicks and grumbled noises, he let out an exasperated sigh “i can’t believe you’re still trying..” “what the fuck do you want me to do kirishima?” katsuki was trying not to flip his table at this point. “hire him obviously!” the red head yells out as if that’s the answer to their problems “..and how do you suppose i do that?”

it actually took a lot of convincing in kirishima’s part, but katsuki finally threw away his pride and decided to send a message to deku’s business email that was left under his about page on youtube

“..i want you to become my editor and help me in becoming the #1 youtube travel vlogger in the community” kirishima reads the message out loud that’s displayed on the screen, “you sure you want to send it like this?” “i don’t see anything wrong with it?” “but don’t you think it’s too.. blunt? no formalities or anything like, hello i’ve seen your videos and i would be honored to have you as my editor, you know?” katsuki just shrugged, “it’s too late, i already sent it to him”

about half a day later, deku replied back, “Good afternoon Mr.Explosionmurder, I appreciate that you requested me to become your editor and would like to discuss further details about our agreement via discord. You can contact me by adding my username, deku#2463. I look forward to hearing from you.” to this day, kirishima still can’t believe his eyes when he read the message

“oi shitty hair, what’s a discord?”

it wasn’t katsuki’s fault that the majority of time he spent in high school was doing his best to stay on top of assignments and projects, plus being in the A honor roll, he didn’t really get to decide on his career until after he graduated, thanks to the courtesy of his parents owning their own modeling industry, he put the money he saved up to good use in traveling around the world and vlogging it for people to see with kirishima as his traveling partner

he explained all of this and his reasonings to deku on discord once he reached out to him and figured out how to use the platform, but katsuki was still suspicious regarding his video editing skills and wanted to see it firsthand on how his videos would look like as a finished product

deku: fair enough, send me your videos and i’ll see what i can do, until then, if you deem it satisfactory, which i’m confident that you will, i request a 50/50 payment on your revenue. take it or leave it.

for some reason, katsuki agreed to it without a second thought due to the challenging tone from the message; “i can’t believe you! i told you to trust him! why do you have to doubt him?! haven’t you already seen his videos?!” kirishima was full on panicking at this point, how were they going to make money?! “shut up, i know what i’m doing! i know what’s best for my videos!” it was a good chance too since they’re currently in hong kong and planning to shoot the top 10 tourist spots to visit as claimed by an article he found online

a few days later, katsuki finally got all the videos piled up in one folder and sent them all in a google drive to share with deku just as he requested, he even mentioned to him thru discord message to follow the cues he was giving him on his videos such as when he and kirishima took a stroll and tried foods in the temple street night market; “hey deku, i want you to do a close up of kirishima eating the curry fish ball with erotic music playing in the background” he smirks while focusing the camera on the red head eating without a care in the world and not noticing katsuki making the comment, “mmm dude, mmm you gotta try this, it’s so freakin’ good- wait bro, how long have you been pointing the camera at me?”

in less than a week, deku sent a reply back with the link to the fully edited video; deku: hmm, not gonna lie, but your cues were actually helpful and dare I say, creative? katsuki took it as a compliment and opened the link to the video file, it was about a few GB so it shouldn’t take a long time to upload on youtube, but.. was it ready? he called in kirishima to watch it with him and was actually prepared for it to look horrible despite deku’s obvious talent except.. it was actually pretty good?? better even?! “what did i tell ya katsuki? i told you he was legit,” his partner boasted, just earlier he was embarrassed when the part about him eating the curry fish ball with the “let’s get it on” music in the background showed up while the blonde just rolled his eyes.

explosionmurder: thanks, and i just saw it, consider yourself hired deku: happy to be of service! i’m looking forward to working with you, mr.explosionmurder! it would be helpful again if you provided the cues during your journey! :) explosionmurder: don’t mention it and also don’t call me that, call me katsuki deku: okay, mr.katsuki! [all might emoji]

kastuki found it odd that he became really eager during the exchange but thought nothing of it

a couple of months flew by and katsuki with kirishima in tow have already travelled in 4 other different countries, he even received about 500k+ subscribers, he’s almost to 1 million! as per agreement, he gives half of his revenue to deku which was okay with him since he still has a lot of saved up money in the bank including kirishima’s since they’re sharing it anyway, most of the time, his communication with deku have been entirely professional with a few emojis in between (usually deku’s part), until today that is

deku: it must be nice to travel 0: explosionmurder: pfft, what are you talking about? you now have over 7 mil+ subscribers in your channel since i met you, you can go traveling whenever or wherever you want deku: i can’t explosionmurder: what do you mean you can’t?

no reply

since then, katsuki didn’t want to think too much on what deku said and focused mostly on traveling, those videos won’t work themselves! after he finished, he sent over the videos of his recent trip from india over to deku and as usual, deku delivered it back beautifully edited along with a message

deku: that’s so cool! you guys went to india? *o* [link to video edit] explosionmurder: yeah, you should’ve seen shitty hair when he tried that really spicy curry, which reminds me, you did what i asked right? deku: of course mr. katsuki! as always, i’ve paid attention to every cue you asked for! [saluting pepe emoji] explosionmurder: good good, i didn’t just hire you to sit on your ass all day deku: haha you’re not my only contractor you know ^^” explosionmurder: is that what you meant when you said you couldn’t travel because you’ve been busy? way to be blunt katsuki, he mentally berated himself, but at least deku answered this time, although reluctantly deku: ...let’s just say im stuck at home in that very moment, is when everything changed between them explosionmurder: alright nerd, you sound depressed as hell so i’m going to give you the decision to decide on where we’re going to travel to next, think of it as a reward for all you’ve done for us deku: asdkjflas that’s too much! T_T are you sure mr. katsuki??? explosionmurder: i’m waiting, you got 3 seconds starting now, 3 deku: america! i’ve been wanting to go to america...

katsuki told kirishima his plans, then the spiky red head gave him a pat on the back and a thumbs up, “so you do have a sentimental bone in your body!” kirishima was almost close to being dead that very same day

when they arrived to america, he asked deku the list of things he wanted to see and most of them were, “all might amusement park, all might cafe, all might- is there anything else the nerd likes besides all might and superheroes?” katsuki says while viewing the list in the hotel they’re staying at. “give him a break, you said so yourself that he couldn’t leave his house, so this is the least we can do for him and for all the hard work he put in our videos,” kirishima reasoned with him

on the last day of their trip, katsuki did his routine in piling the videos together and sending them to deku with the attached message, “i actually bought you a souvenir if you want it, looked like the type of shit you would like, you’ll see what it is in the videos i’ve sent you” they’ve known each other long enough so he thought why the hell not, it’s just a matter of getting his PO address, and the response to this was immediate, “AAA I SAW IT! THANK YOU THANK YOU!” <3<3 <(^w^<)

it was an all might limited edition figurine only available in the US

for the first time, deku took two days longer to finish than katsuki expected him to since they’ve started because he always goes through them pretty quickly, maybe he’s too busy making them look up-to-par? whatever the case was, when katsuki received the video, it already had a title for it, “MY AWESOME TRIP TO AMERICA PLUS ULTRA!” kirishima just laughed and told him to keep it in honor of deku so he left it like that, “this better give me some views,” he grumbled and uploaded it the night before they went to bed, he wasn’t really worried in checking it out either because he has faith in deku’s abilities

the morning after was hectic, katsuki has been receiving notifications upon notifications on the “travel bros” (courtesy of kirishima) twitter since last night, one in particular caught his eye, “i can’t believe deku and katsuki are dating! who would’ve thought!” what?

a short video appeared underneath that came from the video he uploaded, and regretfully never took a look at, showing katsuki saying to the camera as he held the AM figurine, “deku, you should’ve been here, look at what i got you, nerd,” at first glance, it was supposed to look normal (from the original video!) except hearts and sparkles began appearing around katsuki as he smirks up at the camera, what the fuck? besides, deku was suppose to edit that all out! for every cue in every part where he says deku’s name, he was expected to delete them like he usually does! even though it was no secret that deku was his video editor, he distinctly remembers mentioning about him in a video they took way back when they first started out their contract agreement

meanwhile, kirishima was having a field day, he finally saw their video while katsuki kept on seeing other short videos of him on twitter from different segments of the trip in which he either had sparkles or hearts around him, especially when he mentions deku’s name; “bro you won’t believe this, our subscribers grew up to over 1 million last night!” kirishima yells enthusiastically, but when he noticed katsuki not paying attention to him, he looked over his shoulder to check what he was looking at. “oh that, you know those aren’t fanmade videos, right?” katsuki unblinkingly turned to look at him, “you mean..?” kirishima gave him a toothy grin, “yep!”

a video call from discord, “dekuuuu, what is the meaning of this?” a squeaky voice, “i-I’m so sorry i got carried away and i couldn’t help it! all might was too beautiful including you and-!” “..what did you just say?”

he thinks that you’re as sweet as the vanilla bean frappuccino he watches you make, your smile like the caramel that you so carefully drizzle over white foam. your eyes are alight with a brilliance that warms him up better than the iced americano that he always gets. and when your eyes find his from across the counter, he feels his heart skip a beat and his breath hitch in his throat.

you’re just too beautiful.

“suna!” you greet him as if he somehow made your day brighter, grinning at him as you quickly began bustling around to grab a cup without him even giving his order — you’d long since learned the exact way he orders his drink that your motions were almost automatic. “same thing today, right?”

your voice sounds like a distant lullaby, like the gentle rustling of leaves on a cool summer wind that washes over him and runs its fingers through his hair so endearingly. he can’t help the smile that touches his lips as he leans against the counter, eyes lidded as he watches you move about. your question is answered with a soft hum, and if you try and focus, you could imagine the sound of it right by your ear; you lose yourself inside an illusion of slender arms wrapped around your waist and your head leaning against his chest. the drip of the coffee shot from the machine is what tethers you to reality.

“hey, um...” the words are hesitant on suna’s lips, he licks them once to get rid of the dry feeling in his mouth when you glance up at him for a brief second with your shining eyes and you show him that smile once more — it only lasts a second, but it’s enough to send his mind into overdrive with thoughts of you. he inhales softly and looks down at his fingers; they fiddle together as if they weave together a story he can’t even begin to decipher. “we’re having a game coming up this sunday.”

when he glances back at you, he finds you pouring the coffee shot into a medium-sized cup filled with iced water; the brown liquid swirls on its descent, mixes and blends until its colour fills the cup in its entirety. you’re so careful in your actions, never once spilling or making a mess, and suna can’t help but think that it’s admirable how much care you put into preparing your drinks. it’s as if you give to each of your customers a part of your spirit, departing unto them a kind of innocent joy that takes its home with wandering souls and guides them to a safe place in your cafe. he doesn’t know that, for him, you make sure to pour your heart in every iced americano you make for him.

the sound of the ice stirring around inside the cup is nearly lost under the chatter of college students and working office people, but your voice rings out to him like the chiming of bells. “oh?” your hand presses down on the plastic cover, the ice inside rattles a little. as you’re turning back to him, you reach out to grab a small cup holder and a straw. “are you nervous?” as you take in his chilled expression and the barely there smile that crease his lips, you think to yourself that suna rintarou doesn’t seem like the kind of person who gets nervous. if you could hear the loud thumping of his heart inside his chest, or see the faintest hint of red that paint the tip of his ears, you would think otherwise. suna rintarou is nervous — but it isn’t the game that causes his pulse to quicken beneath his skin as you hand him his drink.

suna thinks — really thinks about your question, and as you mirror his leaned posture across the marble countertop, you can’t help but notice the way his eyelashes brush against his skin, the way the sunlight kisses him so softly and embraces him in her arms. it’s a helpless thought that hits you when you wish to do the same. when he finally glances up to find your eyes trained on him, you realize just how close the both of you stand — breathing in the other’s space, where the smell of coffee loses itself on peppermint and hints of strawberry. you feel the urge to brush strands of black hair from his face, to caress his cheek with a familiarity that could only belong to a lover’s touch. when he exhales, you feel his breath brush softly against your skin, and as your world stills and your heart sings to you a lullaby of calm and tranquility, you realize where the smell of peppermint comes from.

“not really,” he finally answers on a quiet huff, not daring to move away lest he should disturb the bubble that’s settled around the two of you; lest the meadows he sees in your eyes should vanish on fluttering petals and lose themselves on the wind. now that he stands so closely to you, he lets himself dance on liquid courage, surged by the patient smile you give to him and the bit of your spirit that latches on to his wandering heart.

“do you wanna come and watch?”

heavens above, the way your smile stretches into a toothy grin is so pure and innocently joyous, that suna’s heart does backflips inside his chest. it’s as sweet as the oreo cake that he knows you love to eat on your break, enticing like the aroma of coffee beans that cling so closely to your person.

“sure!” you’re so enthusiastic in your acceptance that it almost doesn’t feel as if he’s merely asking you to come watch him play at a volleyball game. the way your eyes sparkle under fairy lights, the way your entire image glows like a second sun, it’s almost as if he asks you to run away with him, to disappear beneath the stars and follow the trail of fairy dust that litters the night sky.

you are the brightest part of suna’s life, and he thinks to himself that he wants nothing more than to get lost with you in a place far away.
