In the heart of Michigan’s summer magic, nestled among towering pines and tranquil waters of Lake Michigan, stood the sacred Hughes family lake house. Throughout the year, the Hughes siblings would be spread far apart in different stretches of the country, one of them not even residing in the country, but at this lake house and on this plot of land, none of that mattered. Because for two full months, the four of them were there together, and it was always better than the last.

“What do you mean you’re inviting him here?” Jack yelled from the living room as Grace rolled her eyes, stirring a pitcher of ice cold lemonade from the kitchen. She stood in a forest green triangle bikini top and jean shorts, fanning herself from the scorching hot summer heat that was seeping into the house.

“It means exactly that, Jack,” she shrugged, throwing the lemonade into the fridge and fetching a container of strawberries in return. “And you better not be mean to him!”

Jack scoffed, peeling himself off the couch, his bare chest exposed as he stumbled into the kitchen. “You haven’t even met the kid yet! What if he’s crazy? You’re just gonna invite some stranger into the house like it’s nothing?”

“He’s not a stranger, Jack. You’re being dramatic.”

“Yeah? Well, you’re being under-dramatic!”

Grace laughed, shaking her head as she cut the strawberries into halves. “Oh, wise words, Mr. Harvard.”

“Very funny. You know, these college dropout jokes are getting real old.”

“Can’t be a college dropout if you never went to college, Jack,” Luke butted in, stomping down the stairs as he opened the fridge and immediately grabbed the lemonade Grace had just made.

“Hey! I just made that!” Grace shouted, her small knife pointing in Luke’s direction.

With his hands up, Luke dropped the pitcher onto the counter. “Hey, no need for weapons!”

“Can you guys shut up?” Quinn complained, Trevor in tow, as they sat on the barstools at the kitchen island. “We can hear you guys fighting from the lake.”

“Oh, did someone make lemonade?” Trevor asked, ushering the pitcher towards his direction. “Grab me a cup, Grace?”

“You’re 23, grow the fuck up and get your own cup,” Grace scolded, her hands crossed over each other as Trevor stood up, a frown etched onto his face.

“Someone’s angry,” Trevor mumbled to Luke as he stretched for a cup at the top cabinet.

At that point, everyone was angry about something. Jack didn’t want Macklin to come, Grace wanted the complete opposite, Luke was deprived of the lemonade and was now watching Trevor sip it with ease, Quinn was tired of everyone’s bullshit, and Trevor got yelled at by the youngest Hughes, but truth-be-told, he was more scared of her than anyone else in the family—other than Ellen.

“Guys!’ Jack announced from his spot by the entryway of the kitchen. “Tell me I’m not crazy—”

“You’re crazy—”

“I haven’t even said anything yet, Luke,” Jack scolded as Luke shrugged his shoulders in response, diving into something on his phone. “Okay! Gracelynn here wants to bring a complete stranger to the lakehouse. That’s stupid, right?” he asked.

“Well, haven’t you done that, too? Like all of the girls you’ve brought here,” Cole added from the backdoor, fanning his red sunburn in search of the aloe vera that Grace restocks in the fridge every summer.

“That doesn’t count.”

Grace scoffed, her back resting on the cool counter behind her. “Why not?”

“Because—”

“Because you’re a hypocrite! Macklin’s gonna come here and you guys are going to enjoy him—or at least pretend to.”

Luke stood up, his head pointing up from his phone. “We’re talking about Mack?”

“Yes?” Jack agreed confusingly, his brows furrowing at the younger boy.

“I thought this was some random dude! I’m on G’s side.”

“Oh, come on!” Jack groaned. “He is random!”

“Don’t act like you weren’t complimenting his puck protection like two weeks ago,” Luke scoffed, stealing a sip of lemonade from Trevor’s cup.

“Hah!” Grace jumped. “You like him! Admit it!”

“I don’t like him,” Jack huffed. “But... you can bring him if you want, I guess.”

“I’m sorry, what did you say?” Grace asked, her hand cupping her right ear. “I don’t think I caught that.”

“You can bring him,” he groaned, defeated.

Putting down her knife, Grace jumped up and down before running towards Jack and throwing her arms around the boy. “Thank you, thank you, thank you!”

Mirroring her actions, he threw his arms around Grace. “He better not be a weirdo and murder us in our sleep.”

“He won’t! Well, I don’t think he will,” she smiled. “Also, you’re really sweaty.”

“Oh well, fuck you then.”

How did your DU Drow react to the blood trader at Moonrise Towers? Were they upset having to talk to her in the first place, and what about when they started speaking about Astarion and asking to bite her?

OH! how did they react when seeing her again during act 3?

also, I have to say your art anytime I see it I get this huge gush of inspiration lol to just keep drawing and perhaps one day I'll be able to make something as beautiful as your drawings <3

First of all, thank you so much for your kind compliments! I wish you knew how often I still grow frustrated with my own art LOL just keep at it friend! We all started somewhere and we're all still constantly learning.

To be completely honest, I entirely missed Araj in the DU drow playthrough! And while I find her interaction really impactful for Astarion's character, the "confession" dialogue you get when you don't talk to her at all does fit better with the way I was roleplaying DU drow and their relationship.

But because I have to have my cake and eat it too, and because I wanted to mention her in my story/have it that Astarion still had that experience within the fiction, I just choose to pretend that it did happen LOL aaaaand grant myself the creative freedom to have it go my own way.

Araj would have had to approach them of her own accord. DU drow would have completely thwarted what she had to offer him and made his disgust pretty clear from the get-go, but once she turned her focus to Astarion he would let them have their exchange without interfering (at that point in the relationship, it wouldn't be any of his business what Astarion wants to do with his own mouth). Once she grew insistent, he would have gotten pretty irate - half for Astarion's sake, half because of how the display fell in line with his perception of female drow and his own spotty memories of his foster mother and the women he grew up with. Rather than a simple "He said 'no" you can imagine him giving her a piece of his mind in a way that was similarly brief/snappy, but far more personal lol something charming like "He doesn't want you, you murky whore, nobody up here does." followed by swift "fuck off".

If they were to talk about it later, it would have been in the context of a mutually shared experience and a joint sentiment of "hey, screw that woman right", since I have no doubt Astarion would realize that his own discomfort didn't prompt DU drow's reaction entirely of itself. Basically, turning it into a moment of commiseration rather than Astarion feeling the need to thank him for anything.

As for act 3, again I never found her (not sure you can if you don't interact with her in act 2, or simply refuse to give her your blood) but if they were to come across her, DU drow would have just found a way to kill her without raising alarm - THOUGH I prefer to think they never saw her again.

Have you headcanons for Bonten Timeline?

They spent many years apart, but I want to believe that at some point Koko and Inupi will somehow meet again, mostly by chance and unintentionally, it's the destiny, the universe? whatever, that brings them together again. Depending on the situation, they try to let it go, but they can't pretend nothing happened, we know that it's enough one single time for Inupi to understand that Koko is not okay, so they'll probably try to make thins work. Mikey's death could be the start for an actual improvement

Dark impulses at some point starts to destroy Mikey, he's canonically too thin and generally unwell in Bonten. I believe at some point he became addict to various drugs, together with Sanzu that couldn't help but follow Mikey, remembering what happened in the original Timeline

Chifuyu at some point, partially because of Takemichi's informations from the future, and partially because he knew Kazutora was important for Baji, starts to visit Kazutora in juvie/prison. At first Kazutora is mortified and ashamed of himself, but he allows Chifuyu to visit him because he felt he owns him at least the possibility to tell him directly how much he hates him. But their dialogue goes differently. Chifuyu is still mad at Kazutora, but he understands he was manipulated and he had his own problems even before the accident with Shinichiro. Chifuyu says he wants to try to understand him better since he was important for Baji. So that's how their friendship starts, with visits and exchange if letters. it was natural for Tora to help Fuyu with his shop once he get out of jail

Inupi and Draken bond over their lost (literally and metaphorically) loves and bikes. They open D&D mostly with Inupi's money; I guess/headcanon that thanks to his role in BLACK DRAGON he had earned - not so legally, but still- a good amount of -mostly dirty- money. Since he wants a fresh starts, he's happy to invest all those money in the shop. And it's thanks to Draken's tutor/father figure (the brothel manager) that they can have the permit to open the shop, since at the beginning they were both still minors (Idk if that's how bureaucracy works in Japan, but listen, D&D was a thing in 2008 and they weren't of age yet in Japan, since at the time, until people were minors until they turned 20, lol)

Inupi and Draken try to follow Shinichiro's steps, so D&D became a safe place for kids that have nowhere to go, and they teach them the basics to fix motors, so these kids stay aways from the streets/troubles in general. It's also the unofficial headquarters for the formers Toman members, that stay more or less in touch even after the gang's disbanding

Senju is probably dead in this TL, and probably it's the reason why, even if they never had a great relationship, Takeomi and Sanzu are both in Bonten, even if I believe their relationship is still difficult, but they got closer again to remember their sister

Koko sometimes checks on Inupi at D&D. When he's younger he tries to convince himself he's doing it for Inupi, but after a while he admits to himself he's doing it just because he misses him, he knows well that Inupi is okay even without him... he's even better without him, and this destroys him, even if he's glad that Inupi is living an honest and safe life

on the outside tho, Koko is as cunning as ever, the life he has in Bonten made him merciless, something he hates what he has become but there's no other way to live. He also uses drugs, mostly to work more, but he tries not to become addicted. His white hair is not bleached, it's just stress, and at some point he just accepts it and style it in a fancy way

Kakucho follows Mikey because he understands his pain for loosing Izana. Their pain is different, for Mikey it meant he lost the last of his siblings, even of they weren't actually related and they. didn't even know each other, but they could have been a family, the potential was there. For Kakucho, Izana was his family, his love, his everything

pretending genshin is a canon game in twst, who do u think idia (or lilia, and maybe cater bc u cant tell me he doesn't play mobile games) would main? and do u think there'd be any characters he hates either based off their element, personality, or just their lore 💀

Omg omg I have been wanting to talk about this sort of concept recently, so thank you for the ask aaaaaa!!! Let's pretend that everyone in NRC is playing the hit mobile game Genshin Impact (so I can write about who everyone mains hehe)!!!!

Riddle mains one of the starter characters, whether Traveler, Kaeya, Amber, or Lisa because he rarely pulls, so as a result he's built the main four. But I think he'd save for Cyno reruns because Cyno administers justice in accordance with the law and Riddle's pleased to see a character so dedicated to upholding order and justice. He might also like Raiden Shogun because she's a tyrannical strict leader like him and somehow he relates, but then he learns she abandoned her creation and Scaramouche's mommy issues hit a little too close to home for him, so he's not sure if he likes her all that much anymore. He also likes Yanfei because of her ties to the law as well!

Trey mains Jean. When he co-ops with Heartslabyul, he's usually stuck playing a healer. Not that it bothers him, mind you! He enjoys it because he can be a tease and only heal when a select few (Ace and Deuce) are within an inch of their lives lol.

Ace mains Childe, but he sucks at aiming and so he usually relies on Childe's water blades. He likes to join Deuce's world under the guise of helping when in reality he's stealing materials. He's the type who skips all of the dialogue and story.

Deuce mains Heizou and he does play for the story! He likes it a lot, and he really likes Heizou's character and how he's a detective. He is terrified of the Raiden Shogun. 100% was screaming in terror during her battle when she locks your skills because his Traveler is not the best built. >_<

Cater either mains Mona because astrology besties stick together and he loves her aesthetic or he mains Xinyan because he loves the punk-rock vibe she has, both in design but also it's her passion! I think he's also a secret Xiao main, but he doesn't tell anyone about it.

Leona mains Dehya!!!!! He does not care what anyone says about her. Radish Sprout can stick his meta talk elsewhere because Leona isn't listening! He thinks Dehya is super cool and badass. Just to prove everyone wrong, he makes sure to build his Dehya to be the utmost strongest. He doesn't pay the closest attention to the story, but he will admit there are some cutscenes that really do have him fully awake because of how cool they are. (He makes Ruggie play the story for him and do most of the exploring in his world to unlock teleports and domains.)

Ruggie mains one of the starter characters because there is no way he's spending his hard-earned money on pixels. He's entirely free to play, but when he gets to play on Leona's account he has lots of fun using all of the characters Leona has and perhaps even spending a little of Leona's Madol to wish on the banners. As a result, Leona has an unbuilt Cyno, Yae Miko, Eula, and Qiqi (he lost the 50/50 at some point).

Jack either mains Gorou, Albedo, or Noelle. I think he just really likes Geo the most, so it's his preferred element in a character. His characters are reasonably built (they're all better than Ace's builds, that's for sure). He doesn't play Genshin very often, though, so he's a little behind in the story.

Azul mains Yelan, Ayato, Dori, and Ningguang. He plays for the story and the collecting characters aspect. He's greedy, so he wants every character, but he's too prideful to whale. So he saves hoards primogems and uses them when he really wants a character or constellations. Somehow he's yet to lose a 50/50, much to Idia's annoyance.

Jade mains Kokomi. Yes, her crit rate and crit damage are absolutely insane. Yes, his Kokomi solos with wild damage. Yes, it's scary that Jade mains a healer who he's made into a DPS and never puts the jellyfish down when he plays with Azul and Floyd until the very last minute (though mostly he lets them die so he can smile innocently and say, "Oops. I must have missed the button.") He was really disappointed when Kokomi didn't turn out to be a merciless, villainous scheming tactician. In his heart, she is. :(

Floyd mains Wanderer, but it's only because he likes flying around like a little mosquito all the time. He does not care about the lore. He does not care about the story. He does not care about Wanderer's past. He is skipping the dialogue because he only wants to fight enemies and bosses. :/ he likes joining Azul and Jade's worlds at the most inconvenient times just to fly around as Wanderer while they're stuck in a cutscene LOL.

Kalim mains Nilou, Yoimiya, Itto, and Venti! He likes these characters because they all have such lovely, fun energy. He loves the story (he cried during some parts) and he loves every character and their designs and lore! He is a whale because he's weak to the pretty characters with their interesting stories, but he hasn't had time to properly build all of them. Kalim builds his characters based off of what he feels is right. Idia took one look at his account and died when he saw the builds. T_T

Jamil mains Sara or Zhongli! I think he might also be a secret Yae Miko main, but he doesn't tell everyone what characters he has or how strong they are. He rarely co-ops, instead choosing to stick to himself and enjoy the game in peace, but Kalim's always requesting to join his world and he can't possibly turn him down. T_T begrudgingly, Jamil lets him in, but his ego is boosted considerably when he's the one carrying Kalim during co-op. Genshin is one of the few games where Jamil actually beats Kalim in terms of character strengths and builds and he is very proud of that.

Vil mains Yelan, Eula, and Rosaria because he likes their fashion styles (Yelan's fur coat is the moment). He's a casual player, so he's not very far in the story and he returns to it if and when the motivation to play strikes him. Still, he will admit it's a very beautiful game.

Rook mains all bow characters, but his favorite is Tighnari. He loves to say he's playing both an animal of prey and a predator when he's out killing enemies with Tighnari in the open world or if he's just shooting down birds from the sky. Even in a game, his aim is precise and perfect. It's actually a little scary...

Epel mains Razor, Diluc, and Heizou. He loves punching things with Heizou. It's a lot of fun, and there's something about Heizou that gives him a confidence boost. Maybe it's because Heizou is short and cute-looking like him, yet here he is beating people up with his fists. Epel has a lot of fun with that type of play style!

Idia has every character. Do not try to talk to him about builds because his are by far the best and strongest. He has his favorite five stars at c6, which includes Keqing, Xiao, Ganyu, Kazuha, Shenhe, Raiden Shogun, and Zhongli. He's on a mission to collect all of the Archons and all of the Harbingers. He is so invested in the story and lore, but he didn't like how Inazuma was written. He mourned for days when Signora was killed because he was looking forward to her being playable. :( he does not understand the hype around Scaramouche; yes, he is a hater like that. </3 but he will admit Scaramouche's boss theme and the boss design itself goes unbelievably hard. A certified banger.

Ortho mains Sucrose! He likes that she's interested in a field of science much like his brother. Ortho likes all of the characters who are connected to science in some way (like Albedo and Tighnari). He also finds Wanderer's backstory really interesting and, on some level, relatable (at least in terms of not being fully human).

Malleus mains Shenhe because he relates to her being misunderstood (and lonely) and he also finds her backstory to be very riveting. He is also drawn to Zhongli because of how wise he is. Malleus could listen to Zhongli drone on and on about Liyue history because he finds it really captivating! His builds aren't the best, though, and he's not very good at fighting, but he loves the storyline.

Lilia mains Hu Tao. He loves her lore and also her design. He finds all of her morbid jokes incredibly fun, and he loves the contrast between upbeat personality with the funeral director job. The Inazuma arc reminded him of his days as a war general. He was very disappointed when Kokomi accepted help from that "anonymous benefactor." Tsk, tsk. Now look what that has cost you. >_<

Sebek mains whoever Lord Malleus mains because he trusts his lord's discerning eye when it comes to choosing characters. He won't admit it to anyone, but he is actually highly invested in the plot. Sebek will wither away before he tells anyone, though. He's only playing because Malleus is (or so he continues to say, but he does enjoy the game when he plays it on occasion).

Silver mains Ganyu. He relates to her tendency to doze off, for he is guilty of the same thing. He can't play Genshin for too long because he usually falls asleep while playing, so it can get difficult to sit through Archon quests. But he does his best because Lilia recommended the game and he wants to understand it a little more.

(Summary: After the battle against Azure Lion, MK and Mei have a bit of a chat about power, destruction, and what it means to leave the world better than they found it.)

MK is sitting at the edge of the cliff overlooking Flower Fruit Mountain- well, what's left of it, anyways. Mei sits down beside him.

"What'chya thinkin' about, monkey man?"

MK flinches at the nickname, and then just sighs. Shit. That wasn't what Mei was going for. She tries again.

"Wow, you really did a number on this place, huh? S'fine, though, since I heard you totally kicked Azure's-"

"Is this better than we found it?" MK cuts her off. Mei just responds with a little noise of confusion. She's not really sure what he's talking about, but at least he's talking, instead of just sighing and staring. He continues.

"Well, as long as we leave the world better than we found it, it's all good, right? That's what Monkey King said."

Mei nods. She thinks she's starting to get it.

He continues on, gesturing out towards the shattered remains of Flower Fruit Mountain. "Is this better than we found it? Is anything? I just-"

MK cuts himself off with a noise of frustration, slumps down a little, and starts looking at his hands. Mei leans in, hugging him from the side, but it's like he doesn't even notice she's there.

{Note: at this point in the draft I switched to script form since it's easier for me to write dialogue in that format. im not switching it back for the same reason lol}

MK: When I- When Monkey Me was fighting Azure, it was-

MEI: [Interrupting] Awesome?

MK: Scary. It was scary. I was fighting Azure, destroying the whole island, swingin' my big tail around- and it was easy! All this? All this chaos, all this destruction? [MK wildly gestures towards the wreckage as he says this.] I was barely even trying.

[Mei nods. She knows this fear. Out of everyone else in the group, she understands best how it feels to hold destruction in her hands.]

MK: It just- It doesn't feel like I've made things better, you know? Like, Azure's defeated, hooray! Except- he was defeated already! Now we're right back where we were before this whole mess started, except now the Jade Emperor's gone, and I destroyed Flower Fruit Mountain, and-

[Mei interrupts.]

MEI: You made things better for me.

MK: [surprised] What?

MEI: Well, think about it! If we'd never met, I wouldn't have gotten my awesome sword! [She takes out said sword and waves it around a bit for effect, and then continues.] Plus, if you hadn't been there to calm me down when I first got the Samadhi Fire, I probably would've burned up the whole universe!

[She pauses for a second to let her words sink in, and then continues on.]

MEI: [Pretending to be trying to remember.] What was it you said to me then? Something like, "I know what it's like to have a power you don't know how to control?"

MK: [unintelligible]

MEI: Well, when I was doing fire training with Red Boy, y'know what I kept thinking? [She pauses for a second, for dramatic effect.] "If he can do it, so can I." Whadd'ya think about that, MK? If you could control Monkey King's powers, use them to save people, then I could do the same with the Samadhi Fire.

[MK is still not saying anything. Honestly, he seems to be so wrapped up in his moping that Mei's not sure whether he's listening to a word she's saying. Still, she bravely presses on.]

MEI: [playfully] C'mon, monkey man, you got this! [More seriously now.] If I can do it, so can you. Don't worry, MK- we can figure out this whole scary-fighty-monkey-guy-form thing together!

[MK takes a deep breath, like he's about to finally say something. Mei stands up, and holds out her hand to MK, as if to help him up. He's looking at her now, and at her outstretched hand. If there was music playing right now, it'd be triumphant, and dramatic, and peaceful, and hopeful. He reaches out to take her hand- and stops, as someone calls his name.]

PIGSY: [from offscreen] MK! We need your help with somethin' over here!

[And just like that, MK's smile returns, the mask is back up, and the moment is gone. He springs up from his seat, disregarding Mei's still-there hand.]

MK: [a little too cheerily] Coming! [He turns back to Mei, half-apologetic.] Sorry, Mei, gotta go!

[He exits the scene, leaving Mei alone. After he's gone, she turns back towards the cliff's edge, sits herself back down, and begins contemplating the scenery, much in the same way MK was doing not so long ago.]

A/N - Thank you for requesting, hope you enjoy! Since it is now the Christmas season, thought to create it a little festival.

Snow covers the roof tops of most houses, kids playing outside with their family in the snow, Cars driving by to look at the pretty lights through the night.

“I bought you Christmas pjs,” You grin at Tom, “We are matching,” you twirl around in yours, giving him his.

“Thanks, Darling,” Tom takes the pjs from you, packing the rest of the shopping away, “I’ll change in a min, then we can cuddle,”

You run up stairs, hiding under the covers as you hear foot steps. Tom lifts up the covers to find you, “Who do we have here?” He grins, taking his hands towards you to tickle.

“Oh no not the tickle monster!” You gasp.

“Stop,” You laugh, Tom eventually gets into bed with you with his pjs on.

“Would you date me if I was a Christmas tree, snow elf?” You giggle into Tom’s toned chest as you hide your face at the nonsense question.

“A Christmas tree.. snow, elf?” Tom questioned, raising an eyebrow, “I did hear that correctly? Didn’t I?”

“Yes,” You squeal, none stop giggling at his reaction.

“Of course I wouldn’t,” Tom teases you, looking at your face dropping instantly to pouting, “Oh no, I’m only joking darling,” he hugs you tight.

“Of course I would,” Tom kisses your forehead to make you feel better.

“You said you wouldn’t,” Pretending to be upset, you try to turn away playfully.

“You know.. I would, baby,” Tom reassured you, “Cuddle meeee,” he squishes you with his strong, toned arms keeping you in place.

“Tommy,” You whine, “Are you sure? Before I cuddle you,”

“Omg,” Tom breathes out laughing, “Yes,”

“Mm ok good!” You smile once again snuggled up to tom under the warm covers while having matching pjs on.

Tom caresses your jaw line, pulling you in for a passionate kiss full of meaning and love. He pulls you closer to him as he slips his warm tongue into your mouth. Snogging the face off of you.

“Your warm,” You sigh on repeat, “You are too love,” Tom strokes your locks as he relaxes further into the bed.

“You do smell nice,” Tom smells your hair, “Do I?” You chuckle, “You do too,”

“My Beautiful Angel,” Tom peppers kisses around your face as you giggle.

“Says yourself,” You grin, taking Tom in for another kiss.

“What can I say?” Tom winks, joking.

You playfully push him, him only bringing you back deeper into his chest.

“You can’t escape,” Tom teases, “The cuddle monster has you got you now!”

“Oh, that’s ok!” You smile, looking up to his beautiful, honey warm eyes as he looks dumbfounded.

“What?” You giggle, “I love your cuddles.. don’t be surprised,”

“Nothing, I’m just dreaming into your eyes,” Tom breathes out, catching his breath as he flickers his eyes between yours and your lips.

Tom leans into capture your lips into a soft tender kiss full of bliss, raw passion. You close your eyes, filling the taste of each other.

You both pull apart, yet going back to connect again.

“How was Christmas shopping with your brothers go?” You beamed, finally back to talking to each other.

“It was good, got lots of presents for people.. including you,” Tom smirked, teasing you.

“That’s great, I did shopping with your mum don’t forget,” You tease back, “Might of gotten you some bits and bobs too..”

“Well, can’t wait,”

You run your hands through his hair as you both relax and close your eyes, “We should build a snowman tomorrow,” Tom mumbles.

“Mm, Yh we should,”

You sigh turning over on your stomach, feeling Tom’s warm hands go under your shirt to rub your back.

“Mm, that feels nice!” You hummed, smiling.

“Does it Darling?” Tom kisses your temple, “Yh, your hands are so large and smooth,” You sink into his chest more as him relaxing you takes over you.

“Are you tired?” Tom strokes holl your hair, admiring the way you sleepily look at his face, “Go to sleep, my Christmas tree, snow elf,” He whispers, kissing your forehead.

“You need your beauty sleep to build the snowman,”

“Mm,” You purred, smiling, “Night,”

“Goodnight, Love you so much Darling,” Tom gives you a goodnight kiss.

“Love you so much too, Tommy,” You pout your lips against his as you kiss, falling back into his warm, toned chest. You close your eyes and drifting off to sleep.

hmm havent been rvb posting much..... time to talk about simmons and caboose! cause a while ago i saw a post saying that simmons and caboose are on "opposite ends of the autism spectrum", which is SO true and i wanna talk about the different ways theyre each autistic coded.

[apparently i am incapable of writing a reasonable length post, sheesh]

bc like. simmons is what people typically think "mild" autism looks like. textbook "aspergers". theres a reason im using terms that arent used by the autistic community, and its because autistic people arent the ones who make these kinds of distinctions. this is autism as seen by neurotypicals: socially awkward, smart in one area of expertise but talks about it a little too much, annoyingly pedantic at times.... you get the idea. and while these are autistic traits that i can relate to, i feel like caboose is a better representation of what it feels like to actually have autism. like, he has an easier time making friends with robots than people, he never understands whats going on except for the time travel in season 17, where hes the ONLY one who understands it. he doesnt understand figurative language, constantly misses obvious social cues or breaks unwritten rules that everyone should know, and has a very hard time lying, deceiving, or keeping information from people.

and i think the reason caboose is more relatable even though simmons is more "textbook" autistic, is because caboose is written as DISABLED. he has a hard time following simple conversations. he cant understand things that should be obvious. everyone around him is constantly frustrated because "why cant he just DO it??" so even if his symptoms dont line up exactly with autism (especially since the way hes written changes over the course of the show), at the end of the day, autism is a disability. so personally, i relate a lot more with him and his struggles than someone like simmons, who is awkward and "weird", but doesnt really seem to struggle with day to day life.

in short: simmons is what masked autism (especially if you have a useful special interest, like computers) looks like from an outside perspective. a little awkward, talks too much, but smart where it counts. generally "useful", and mostly "normal". but caboose is what it feels like to grow up with autism. always confused, everyone treats you like youre different and you cant really do anything about it, cant seem to get along with anyone even though you just want to be friends, and no matter what you do, you screw up everything you touch.

anyway im not saying that simmons isnt autistic, or that hes "less" autistic (bc that isnt a thing lol). simmons just masks a lot better than caboose. thats what an autistic person pretending to be "normal" acts like (its certainly how i act around other people lmao). but because hes not written by an autistic person, they write him like thats all there is to it. which is kind of unfortunate because it feels like theres a whole other side to him that we never really get to see.

now, the fact that the writers set out to write a nerd and wrote an autism stereotype, and set out to write a dumbass and wrote someone who is clearly disabled..... that is a whole separate conversation that im not gonna get into. especially since i dont really know much about rooster teeth, aside from the fact that the fandom seems to have wholly rejected them, and of course what i can see just from watching the show. but i think its clear that its not exactly good representation.

anyway, i still hc them both as autistic, and if/when i write them, i hope my interpretation reflects that while still being true to the characters. it actually works out great for me that theres one autistic person on each team, because whenever im thinking of dialogue and i have an idea thats a little too autistic (like saying something really blunt or picking up on a pattern most people wouldnt notice) i can usually give it to one of them instead of writing it out entirely. which works out really well for caboose especially, because he tends to be quiet during exposition unless hes addressed (bc he cant follow it). so having him make autism commentary can break up all the "blue team problems" nicely. plus having him innocuously call people out when theyre being ambiguous is WAY funnier than "haha caboose doesnt know whats going on" imho

booster ask -- Hermitcraft! (I'm predictable)

lol you forgot the modifying word, but that's okay, i'll choose one for you that hasn't been done yet. i'm choosing a mix of "Rhubarb: a favorite snippet of dialogue" and "Locket: idea for a fic I haven’t written yet" and it's gonna be a doozy

This one is just basically a scene from a fic I never ended up writing. There's, like, nothing else but this scene written and this is from somewhere in the middle of the fic. The concept is basically that going into S8 Mumbo was possessed by something like a blood god (in line with stuff like datd or techno headcanons) and basically experiencing the same thing as 3rd life red life bloodlust. Whatever my decision for it was, it's something that's specifically posessing him/infecting him. I don't know why. I didn't get that far. It's important to note I wrote this before Last Life was announced and Mumbo was in it, haha. The idea is that he's pretty scared by this happening, and decides to overcompensate for it and hide it via his "Peace Love and Plants" deal. Like, he thinks he won't be able to control it if he does kill something, so he just declines to kill anything at all. This is a scene from shortly after Grian finds out about it, and I still like it but I know I'm not going to continue it. There was supposed to be pretty heavy 3rd Life connections with the red lives. I think I wrote this in August 2021?

without further ado i present: about 1200 words of the mumbo bloodlust fic. CW for, um, discussions of killing?

“But what if I kill you, or, or hurt you-” Mumbo stammered.

“You won’t, and you haven’t.”

“But I could. There’s this thing, like it’s in my brain- it wants me to.”

“I know,” Grian said, “I know.”

“No, you don’t understand,” Mumbo said, and as Grian stiffened he knew the statement was probably wrong, but he continued anyway, “it’s like a-a pain almost. It’s begging me to. Telling me violent things. When I see you, I don’t see you first. I just...see a thing that can be killed. I see your red sweater and it reminds me of blood and then I think about that blood and...When I see you I see a target first and a friend second.” The words tumbled fast from Mumbo’s mouth, and it was more than he intended to say but he just needed someone to know. Mumbo always had been a bad liar, and he couldn’t pretend much longer.

Grian flinched. It wasn’t an exaggerated movement, and for once Mumbo actually wished he was more oblivious instead of less because if he hadn’t seen it then it wouldn’t have broken his heart. But Grian gathered himself and spoke anyway. “I think everyone sees me and wants to kill me,” he joked weakly.

“That’s not true,” Mumbo protested. He didn’t mean to cause...whatever this was. He didn’t like this path they were going down.

“But you haven’t killed me yet,” Grian continued. “You look past that first glance. Your first thought doesn’t define you. You haven’t acted on it. You’ve had all this time to hurt someone but you haven’t.”

“But I could!” Mumbo cried. “Stop–stop it, stop trying to make me feel better. Stop being so nice to me.”

Grian frowned, and in a flash pulled out his sword. I guess he is done being nice, Mumbo thought. The enchantments glinted slickly against the sharp edge, washing over it in waves. He had seen a million enchanted weapons before, but this time he felt mesmerized.

“Why have you-” Mumbo started but before he could finish Grian was shoving the sword into his hands. Against his better judgement and in surprise, he took it. Then Grian roughly grabbed Mumbo’s wrist and in an instant pulled the sword against his own neck. Mumbo sputtered. “What-”

Grian’s face was dead serious. “So do it, then,” he said. “Kill me.”

“But I could-”

“Kill me? Then do it. You’re so concerned about hurting me, so then just do it.”

Mumbo stared and Grian met his stare. The sword felt heavy and right in his hands, like an extension of his body he’d been missing all season. The feeling crawled down his spine and settled sickeningly in the pit of his stomach.

Just one swipe and you could kill him. You could slit his neck and he’d fall to the ground and you could watch and the grass would turn red and you’d finally be free.

The sword shook in his hands.

“What are you waiting for?” Grian asked and his body was stiff and his voice strained, but he held his head up and did not break eye contact. Mumbo broke it instead. Looking his best friend in the eyes and listening to those horrible thoughts just felt wrong and bad and gross.

It was close enough that Mumbo could almost taste it. It could be so easy. His hands were already shaking and it would only take a particularly errant tremor to cut his skin. And he gave him the sword, so maybe he even wanted it-

No.

What was he thinking?

Or, was it not him thinking? He shook his head, that quick little movement he did to shake the thoughts away. They didn’t obey. It would be so easy. He shook his head again. It would be so easy.

“My head belongs to me,” Mumbo mumbled, and if Grian heard it then he didn’t say anything in reply. With great effort Mumbo pulled his hand away, closed his eyes, and...tossed the sword to the side. It tumbled softly into the grass. Benign once more, out of sight.

“You didn’t kill me,” Grian said, softer now. “I knew you wouldn’t.”

“You don’t know anything.”

“I think I do. You had a chance and you didn’t take it. It was hard but you didn’t do it. And I knew you wouldn’t. That’s what I’m trying to make you see!” Grian cried. “You fought against it! And you’ve been doing this the whole time. You’ve had every opportunity to kill me, or kill anyone else, and you haven’t. You won’t even kill a chicken for heaven’s sake. Sometimes I just want to shake you, to make you see. You’re the strongest out of all of us, you know. I had no excuse, but you do and you still resist it. You’re stronger than any of the rest of us.”

Mumbo didn’t know if he agreed. Isn’t inaction easier than action? All Mumbo had to do was just not do something, and he was normally pretty good at not doing things. And what did Grian mean, saying he had no excuse but Mumbo did? Mumbo had definitely killed a chicken or two with all those end crystals, too…

“But what if I can’t stop myself next time?” he asked.

“I don’t care,” Grian said. “Look at me, Mumbo. I don’t care if you kill me. You could do it a hundred times and I won’t care. You think I’ve never been killed before? You think I’ve never been killed by a friend? We’re on Hermitcraft, we have infinite respawns here. Death isn’t permanent. What does my life matter? You could’ve killed me just then and I’d have woken up in my bed and walked right back out here and grabbed my things. You could keep killing me, keep hurting me, forever and it wouldn’t change our friendship.”

This was definitely one of the stranger ways that a person had tried to reassure Mumbo with, and he wasn’t sure he followed Grian’s line of thought. It wasn’t...Grian shouldn’t let people hurt him, and Mumbo didn’t want to hurt him. But his support was genuine, and Mumbo got the feeling that this was all really important to Grian that he understood this. Mumbo’s brain was stubborn, though.

“Okay, but what if you lose your items? Sure death isn’t permanent, but items are a pain to replace.”

“Items are just things,” Grian said confidently. “They may be a pain to replace, but they are replaceable. You’re not.” Grian bent and picked up the netherite sword in the grass, and Mumbo’s heart skipped a beat. You could take it from him, whispered a dark corner of his mind, but he banished the thought with a sharp shake of his head. With a careless toss Grian threw the sword into the Boatem Hole next to them. “See? I don’t care. That can be replaced. It’s just an object.”

“Did you really just throw a netherite sword into the void to reassure me?” asked Mumbo incredulously.

Grian had the sense to look embarrassed. His face flushed. “Yeah, I uh...I just did do that, didn’t I?” He squatted and peered over the edge of the hole. “You don’t think it might have fallen onto the bedrock and I could get it back?”

“No buddy, I think it’s a goner. You gave it a pretty solid toss right into the middle there.”

“I regret that,” Grian groaned. “Now it’ll take me hours to replace.”

“Wasted all that on some grand gesture to me, huh,” Mumbo chuckled.

“Well, did it at least work?”

Yk im so confused cuz when we switch it doesnt feel like weve switched? Were mixed origin (trauma, endo, paro and a couple more) but we still feel invalid. Were also kindaaaa new to it and were still sorta confused on how to will alters into existence sorta??? Idk help

Hey there. When it comes to willing alters into existence (or headmates, rather, since as we understand “alters” is a dissociative disorder specific word), we don’t have any experience with this. We do have a resource post for questioning systems with a section on non-complex dissociative disorder plurality, which has lots of links to resources for helping to create headmates and thoughtforms:

Also, on switching…

As far as we know, there’s no singular accepted way for switching to work or for switches to look. Switches can look and feel really different from system to system and even headmate to headmate. It’s possible for headmates to switch out while still being able to perceive the world. I (Parker) am almost always fronting to some extent, but I do say I’ve switched out if I’m not in control of my own body, even if I can still witness what’s going on.

Literally even just pretending to switch can count as switching. “Easing in” to the identities of your headmates to allow them to interact with the world can count as switching. Having two cofronters who take turns interacting with the world can count as switching. There’s no hard boundaries when it comes to switching and what switching can look like, so if you and your headmates think that you’ve switched, it’s okay to say that.

Y’all might not feel like you’ve switched successfully because one of you remains co-conscious even when not in the front. Lots of systems actually function this way. There’s a word, monoconscious, which describes a system where all headmates are aware of each other and the world all at once. In other words, they all share the same consciousness. We’ll include the Pluralpedia entry:

If you’re feeling insecure about switching, we’d recommend having a meeting or at least opening a dialogue with your headmates about this. What about your switches makes you feel invalidated? Do your headmates agree? Are you holding any (potentially unrealistic) expectations for your system when it comes to switching? Why feel like your switches have to look or feel a certain way in order to be seen as valid? Hopefully your whole system can work together to come to a better understanding about what switching looks like for your system and how to make peace with this.

I’m sorry if we can’t really offer strong or useful advice/encouragement here. Really though, switching can look so very different for any system. So it’s okay if the way your switches work or feel isn’t how you anticipate it to work for other systems. That doesn’t invalidate your system or your plurality in any way. On the contrary, it actually reveals just how amazingly diverse and complex plurality can be, with different systems experiencing switches in many different ways.

Again, I’m sorry if we’re not super helpful here. Idk I’m not as good at Corrie or Ralsei when it comes to giving meaningful advice. And Ghost is just along for the ride lol. But we do hope things get better for y’all, we really do.

Okay so like I'm trying (keyword: Trying) to finish a fic you requested but I'm just horrible at dialogue so I'm giving up for just today. Eddie is literally like the best daddy/cg/whatever you wanna call him ever

I'll admit he's not absolutely perfect (I mean no one is expect my cat) but he does his best and that all you can ask for

He's very attentive always watching and listening to what you have to say and is always careful not to push past your comfort zone

It doesn't matter to him what age you regress to, he'll take care of you as long as you let him and with no complaints

He's just so good at matching his energy with yours it's honestly impressive

Like he could be jumping up and down with you running up the walls excited

Or he could be mellowing out with you on the couch as y'all watch She'ra

He's like always trying to get you to laugh it's adorable

Funny faces/voices, dumb jokes, tickles, running around cashing the reader, whatever he came to get the you to smile or laugh he's doing

My man's loves to play with his little. It could be argued that he enjoys it more than his little does

His favorite is making up games and playing pretend

He'll set up a whole story line with characters and adventures and task so his little is never bored. He's also will always try to be apart of the game your playing either with helping you on your adventure, being a bunch of side characters that all have a bunch of different, funny voices, or being the antagonist

Whatever he's doing, he just wants to be doing something with you

And if his little wants to have a tea party then by god are they gonna have one

He'll try and set up tea cups and the tea pot and fill it with lemonade or some sort of fun drink as well as some cookies or treat to eat with it with your stuffy joking you guys as well

You absolutely have to do clinkies with him or I swear to God he will cry

Your pinky has to be out too. Gots to be proper😙

I would also like to mention that he will not refuse to wear a tutu or dress as well as make up or finger nail polish

He's got NO shame when it comes to his little

I'm just imagining him with like messily put on lipstick that like going up his face as wells as a bunch of random stickers, his hair in like multiple pigtails, wearing a tutu with his regular clothes on underneath with the most content smile on

He's unbelievable, I love him

My man's literally could not care less what you called him

Bubba, Daddy, Dada, bubs, Eds or even just his name will send him over the moon

Just the thought that his little was comfortable enough to share this with him, nevermind wants him to be with them while while smalls brings a tear to his eye

While Eddie is a great care giver sometimes he has his moment

Sometimes he gets a little to dramatic or frantic in trying to make his little laugh and he ends up scaring them and makes them cry

Or maybe he gets a little too mad and snaps at them if they were miss behaving to much (nothing to much just him yelling "Will you stop that!" or "I said not right now Y/N, knock it off!" loudly)

Once he sees his little getting a teensy bit misty eyed he's already on his hands and knees apologizing to them and begging for forgiveness

Okay not all of that like he will try to comfort you depending on how you feel like if you want physical contact or want to be left alone he'll always accommodate for your needs but he'll still apologize a lot

He wants you to know that he is truly sorry and that sometimes his emotions get the best of himself

Again he's not perfect but that okay

He tries his best and tries to fix what he did so he doesn't do it again and honestly that's all anyone can ask for

BACK TO FLUFFYNESS

Cuddles and a bedtime story are a must before bed

They also have to be read dramatically or he will be hearing from your lawyers

He also must tuck you in and give you a lil goodnight kith before you fall asleep it is LAW

Eddie's uncle is aware of your regression from walking in on you regressed one time and let me tell you this man could not care less

Like I mean he's glad you and his nephew trust each other enough to be like this but other than that he doesn't really care about it. He'd appreciate if you didn't trash his home or write on his walls though

Eddie let's you wear his Hell fire club shirt if your feeling small. He loves how it looks on you and you like that it smells like him so it's a win win

He's honestly considering making you a Hell Fire shirt onesie so look out for that

All in all Eddie is a great Cg.

Give Me a Heart That Won't Break

Rating: T Pairing: Gen (Levi-centric) Word count: 2k Read it on Ao3!

look at me, finally getting around to posting this on tumblr! i was planning on doing it when i posted in ao3, but i just was too lazy to lmao ;;;

this fic, along with its title, is heavily based on the song Impatiens Balsamina, and I implore you to listen to it!! it's such a pretty yet heart-breaking song <33 and of course i had to inflict pain onto levi, who else would be perfect for this song? lol

anyway, i really hope you enjoy this!! it's in a different style than i usually write in (no dialogue, present tense), so i hope there aren't too many mistakes there (god knows how many times i had to rewrite parts because i instinctively went back into writing past tense lol) but yeah!! please enjoy <3

His headphones aren’t plugged to his phone. He still wears them, scrolling through his phone and acting like they are. Levi is not in the mood to listen to short, few second videos, nor did he want to listen to his classmates. So he instead scrolls through Devilgram, and uses his soundproof headphones to drown out everyone around him. His eyes flit around the room, where other demons chatted and laughed; class hadn’t started yet, and it would be a few minutes before it did. So of course, his peers took the chance to chat, all in their different groups and surrounding someone’s table to form a circle and excitedly spoke over another.

Levi closes his eyes with a sigh for a few seconds, before then going back onto his phone. He doesn’t care about them or whatever they were talking about–probably just about parties, or shopping, or their weekend plans, or whatever normies talked about. He is fine alone, thank you very much. He preferred it, actually. A loud laugh startles the demon, and his head shoots up to search for the source.

A jock, he thinks bitterly. Of course it was a jock who didn’t understand how to be quieter inside, and is impossibly loud enough to break through his headphones for him to listen clearly. They give a hearty laugh, outstretching their hand to give a few friendly pats on their friend's shoulder. Levi is quick to realize that the other demon there that is on the receiving end of the shoulder pats is Beel, who shares a smile just as wide as his friend. His eyes search, because if one twin is there, then–ah, there he is. Belphie is seated in a nearby desk, head down with his arms out to rest on. Unlike most days though, he is wide awake, a smile hidden by his arms, and Levi can see from how his eyes crinkle and how his mouth moves that he is participating in the friendly banter.

He watches for a short few seconds, before snapping back to his phone. He clicks it back on, and goes back to scrolling and pretending not to care or listen to the others around. Well, he isn’t pretending, not at all, he doesn’t care. He is fine with no one around him–hell, he’s happy that he’s alone, because they would just be too loud and annoying, and he doesn't have the patience to handle stupid normies.

Levi is fine doing his own thing, even if it does make him appear to be lonely. Which he isn’t, because he made the choice to be alone. Why would he want to be in cliques where they would just–just-

His hand grips the phone tighter as the screen dims. He isn’t lonely. He doesn’t care what others think. Because that would make him something to be pitied and he is the Avatar of Envy. Yes, he is a gross otaku, someone who plays video games all day, has too much useless trivia memorized, spends literal days watching anime, but he is still the general of Hell’s Navy. He is still very powerful, and has power that should be feared. It sorta sends a message, in a way, of his power, in a similar vein of how Lucifer lets very few people around him. Levi does not need them, nor their pity. He does not need their pity because he is powerful and loves to be independent, and that he is not lonely. He likes it this way–it was better for everyone, in the end.

Levi prefers it this way, anyway. Being alone. He revels in his alone time. Because, because if he doesn’t…

His eyes darts back to the twins. He watches as another demon enters the conversation, and the two nameless ones give a weird handshake as a greeting. He watches as Beel and Belphie laugh and talk.

…if he doesn’t, then there would be something wrong with him. Levi is the loner, afterall, and always would be. He is the one who failed in holding normal conversations, the one who is afraid of saying the wrong thing to someone, the one who rehearses what he says, the one who struggles to even come to classes in-person, the one who can’t even do a class presentation. He is the one that everyone knows wants to be alone, and it would always be like that. They will always seem him like that, and he will always stay in his shell. Alone. A win for both parties, really.

More noises catch Levi’s attention. He moves his phone around his hands like a fidget toy as he watches his younger and much prettier brother walk into the classroom. He takes his time walking, a joyful smile on his face as he laughs and gasps at whatever someone says. His groupies follow him, and suddenly they are all taking up too much room–all laughing and squealing and enjoying themselves. They are all so happy, he thinks absentmindedly, watching a few feet away from the circle. Everyone is engaged, all participating in one way or the other.

He wonders–a tiny, minuscule part wonders–if being labeled as the loner was something he could have escaped. That maybe if he had forced himself out of his comfort-zone, if he had gone to any of the meetings for the gaming or anime club, he could be in the same situation Asmo and Beel and Belphie all found themselves in. If he had been there from the start, maybe things would have been different for him. Maybe he would find himself in a group like them.

Asmo’s fans and friends all hang off of his brother’s every word, and all react accordingly. Levi shakes his head and snaps back down to his phone. He turns it back on. What a dumb thought–what would he do, anyway? Abruptly ask them if he could join them? Levi has pride, believe it or not, and knows not to waste his time doing something dumb like that.

Besides, he’s thinking as if he has no friends, which wasn’t true at all. He has his friends in the Navy, who only ever makes the time to talk to him when he comes around every blue moon for official business; along with that, he has his online friends–who he could only really just play video games with, discuss anime, and vent about surface-level problems. Hell, he even has friends in a few different classes! Sure, they were more just like acquaintances really, where he and the other exchange pleasantries and easy small talk because their usual friend groups were separated in different classes, but–but it counts. Levi counts it, even if it’s not anything real. It needs to count for something.

His screen cracks a bit. Levi, surprised, blinks, as he stares at the cracks that were caused by his thumb pressing hard against the bottom of the screen. He sighs, and clicks it back on once more. Looks like he would need a new phone screen. Lucifer would give him a good scolding about being careful with his strength and handling phones again, he just knows it.

The warning bell goes off. He can hear it vaguely ring, and more people start to filter in. Asmo’s group all start to give goodbye hugs as many of them leave the class in order to head off to their own classroom. Asmo waves and gives his own goodbyes to his friends, drawing out the whole thing. Hell, Asmo even hops off his desk, and lingers just out the doorway as the majority of them leave.

Levi scoffs out loud. They act as if it's the end of the world; that they won’t ever be able to see each other again, or something. It’s like they all can’t live without one another, or without Asmo around with them, at the very least. It was all so dumb in Levi’s eyes. He certainly wasn’t missing out on much.

So he doesn’t envy them, not at all. Really, he doesn’t.

His eyes linger on them until most of them filter out, and the room becomes quieter. Not exactly the dead silent, but quiet enough around him and his area that he couldn’t hear anyone through his headphones. Just the way he likes it.

Asmo settles back down, going back on top of his desk and conversing with anyone left. Levi’s eyes look around the room mindlessly as he watches more friends greet each other and have a good time together. He then meets a pair of fiery green eyes staring at him.

The eye contact breaks just as soon as it begins. Levi, rightfully startled, calms a bit when he finds that it was just Satan, who had been apparently staring at him for an unknown amount of time. Why had he been staring at him? But his eyes were back on his book and he acted as if nothing happened. Levi supposes that he should do the same.

But he stares at his younger brother for a few more beats. He watches as Satan reads his book, sitting in his chosen desk, close to the wall and just about in the middle of the rows, not too far from Levi’s own desk. Levi watches as he basks in the silence; although his headphones work well, it mainly comes from the fact that no one is sitting around the fifth-born. He is alone, with all desks around him left empty and untouched. It forms a space of silence around him, where he is able to read his book in peace. He looks…Levi is unable to place the look he sees on Satan’s face. He isn’t sure how to read it.

More people take their places. Levi faintly registers Satan’s scowl as others sit next to him in order to talk to one another and act as if he isn’t there. The last few of the students enter the classroom, taking up the seats that were left open. They all talk over one another, making Levi grateful for his headphones. A group of friends took the open seats around Levi, and Levi pretends not to care as they are loud and have fun around him while he stares down at his desk. Having normies like that so close to him was…

It hurt, in a weird way. Which Levi hates, because he refuses to be seen as the loser in this situation. Well, he almost always was during most times, he could own up to that, but not a loser for not having a loud and annoying and obnoxious squad around him. He does not envy them, not at all–if he did, then it was just his Sin acting up. It happens to all of them–Satan’s Wrath made him angrier than most, Lucifer’s Pride made him a prick, and sometimes Levi’s envy made it hard to be around others who had something he didn’t have.

Levi didn’t want what they all have; he didn’t want to have people around him to talk to about the things he enjoys, to go out with to all the anime cafés, to laugh and have fun with. He was fine being alone. He tells himself that time and time again because it was true and it’s as simple as that.

In truth, he just wants to rid his Envy. Or, perhaps, just simply be able to handle the small amount of heartache he feels every time he sees his brothers with their friends. He wishes for, maybe, a stronger heart that wouldn’t break at the thought of being alone after school and when he went home and when he would go back to R.A.D. the following day, week, year. He doesn’t know if he can stand it for that long.

But he will. Because there is nothing wrong, and Levi knows and accepts this. This is just the way things were, set up all by him. He’s the one who asked for his, to be left alone and not around anyone, and he was given what he asked for. He couldn’t possibly complain about it now, not after seeing how annoying everyone else and their friends were. He is happy where he stands.

If he wasn’t, Levi thinks to himself as class starts, then something inside of him was wrong. Wrong, and incredibly broken.

2. How many fics did you work on this year? (They don’t have to be finished or published!)

I want to say 12. I published 6, I’m currently working on 2 different ideas for the naddpod gift exchange so I’ve started both and will be making a full decision tonight or tomorrow (lmao), and then there are a couple I just decided to not publish and a couple I’m always working on but will never actually commit to finishing because I can’t come up with a satisfying ending.

3. What’s something you learned about yourself as a writer?

That I can allow myself to do the things I want to do and go back and fix the other stuff later. I had previously only done this with a fic that included a bunch of time skips and that was why I wormed around the document but I did this with one fic that I consider my magnum opus and it worked. (I like to write dialogue more than scene descriptors so I wrote all the dialogue back and forth and then went back and added names and descriptors and everything else and it was so much more fun)

5. What fandom(s) did you write for this year?

Naddpod. It was just naddpod. I’m thinking I might break into d20 next year but I make no promises, naddpod is so fun to write for.

7. What character(s) captured your heart?

Hardwon Surefoot. Moonshine Cybin. For some reason I find them easiest to write even though getting Moonshine’s voice right was incredibly daunting every time I wrote her. There’s just so much to play with and it was very fun. Plus the Hardwon being alive reveal rewired my brain.

11. What fic was the most satisfying to finish writing?

how to think about you (without it ripping my heart out). God that was a doozy to write. It was my first foray into doing something multi-chaptered and I did have it finished before I even began publishing it but doing the daily updates and my every chapter mini edits took so much time that it was so much fun to finish. Plus I thought about the idea for truly so long before I started writing it that it was very relieving to finally finish.

13. What fic was the easiest to write?

Fools Rush In (Idiots, However, Take 200 Years). This is the fic I mentioned for number 3. I wrote all the dialogue in basically one pass because it’s a long, drawn out conversation that lasts an entire day. I immensely love writing dialogue and the back and forth, hitting what Hardwon and Moonshine would say and how they’d react was easy. And then, even though I was dreading the descriptors, they came so easily because I could picture them so perfectly. It does feel weird to say that my longest fic to date was the easiest to write but it was.

17. What are your go-to writing snacks?

Doing that classic ADHD thing where you hyperfocus and forget to eat all day and then start shaking and put fistfuls of m&ms in your mouth while waiting for chicken to heat up. But when I remember to snack, Smartfood popcorn.

19. Share your favorite opening line.

“You love me?” (Fools Rush In (Idiots, However, Take 200 Years).) I knew I’d open this with that before I finished the previous work in the series. I enjoy getting straight to the point.

23. Share the final version of a sentence or paragraph you struggled with. What about it was challenging? Are you happy with how it turned out?

This was a hard goddamn choice but here goes:

“Look - “ She paused, took a deep breath, and started again. “Can I make a suggestion? You two know him better than I do, obviously, but this might be a time where you give him some space. I know that’s not really what you three do, but he’s going through one of the worst days of his life. And you are, too, but he’s incredibly in his head about it right now. I think maybe if you give him a moment to work out his own feelings, he’ll be able to articulate them to you. And you will then be able to assure him that you need him. Besides, your MeeMaw will take great care of him, Moonshine.” (The Void of an Absence)

Alanis is speaking here. And I wanted her to be pragmatic without seeming insensitive while also staying relatively true to the character she is in the show. I ended up with this slightly more emotionally aware Alanis than we’ve seen but she does switch straight to business afterwards, and that is kind of how Murph RP’d the scene with her and Hardwon. But I overthought it a lot. I’m pretty okay with its final version, but mostly because I got to sneak a “tell me your feelings and I’ll tell you that I need you” reference in there.

29. If this were an awards show, who would you thank?

Obviously the two crew for creating characters that so thoroughly destroy and entertain me, and the people who got excited when I said shit like “I have a terrible idea that’s going to hurt” and responded with “do it.”

I'm glad that you think so! We actually filled out all of the dialogue prompts regarding submas having children so, yes, you can become parents with them. Whether or not they're good at it.... well.....

We tried to keep things as realistic as possible between them while following the same kind of prompts found within the parenting dialogue for the vanilla characters (which... includes more awkward things like how they would hint at wanting a second child... ;;>.>)

For Ingo, we thought would have a better time being a parent than his brother, since he's the customer service representative between them and would be more experienced in taking care of others/children. Emmet..... would try his best! He would struggle more with things.... he's not the the best with people in general, let alone children. Emmet is more used to taking care of Pokémon and has a lower tolerance for usual child things like making messes or not following whatever rules he sets (they're babies... they can't read or understand him...) and he gets frustrated about that. That's not to say that Ingo doesn't have his share of struggles, either! They love their children, but they both get terribly worried and stressed about them.

The both of them do enjoy being uncles to each other's children, though! They always talk about each other and make sure to visit often (.... pretend children ever actually leave the house in Stardew lol).

pshhh, alright girl! first, various disclaimers here:

attraction to me goes beyond looks. i'm pan romantic and demisexual so you know personality and connection weight in more than looks for me. if you didn't, well, now you know. i can't discern attraction without those things, that's just how i function.

just because i don't find someone attractive, or less attractive than others, it doesn't mean they're butt ugly. it just means i don't want a taste, and that's ok.

it's MY list. feel free to do one yourself if you couldn't live vicariously through this one. also, i don't take criticism, this is the most subjective it can get.

i can see the bobby stans reaching for the keyboard. DON'T BOTHER, i don't care. that goes for lottie apologists too. drop it.

alright, let's begin!

~season 1~ the driest when it comes to numbers and quality because levi is so dull and tedious.

7th. levi. i can't stand the guy. yes, he's supposedly very attractive but i can't deal with the whole romeo thing, the very empty eyes, interchangeable personality... ugh, nah. 2/10

6th. mason. i feel like there's multiple dialogues he shares with levi, but he's waaaay hotter. like, waaaaaaaay hotter, and that's because he's a drummer. that's it lol the toby thing is so dumb and i can't take either him or levi seriously. 4/10

5th. tim. because he's so funny and endearing. i don't even rate him as an li, and often steals him from jen because he deserved better, but i still prefer him over levi and mason. 6/10

4th. allegra. i really thought, despite her whole shpeal about the jealousy, that she would have a better reason to act like that, and i was right. as an li, i feel her trope is not explored enough. plus, the way she acts all shy during the reunion is just... realistic. i like her. 7/10

3rd. jake. don't get me wrong, i love the guy, i really do, but waiting 46 days to say something? 46?? when we had just been through cherrygate?? nah my guy, i need you to know what you want, and fast. yes, he's very hot and a chef, which adds 6 points for me, but waiting that long??? nope! still, better than levi. 8/10.

2nd. talia. she's the best li on season 1 in my opinion, and that's all because of her personality. her appearance is a damn nice bonus. she doesn't let anyone get away with lying/pretending, can't stand the bullshit and will call people on their bluff. besides, there's a tender side of her that she only shows with mc, and she's flirty at times and it's the most fun you have during her route. also, her, as a whole. 9/10.

1st. rohan. HE JUST DOES IT FOR ME OK??? after that first impression, and just how sweet and flirty he is, i can't just NOT be angry about the fact that he wasn't an li during the season. it was such a waste! he's so caring, always worried about mc, always asking what he can do. granted, other people do it, but rohan is just so interesting, so fucking hot... his kissing scenes are the best, his story about the empty banner tattoo, just how much shit he goes through during the season. LIKE- my boy deserved better. 10/10.

~season 2~ there are too many li's in this season and we didn't need all of them le'ts be honest.

jakub. by a landslide, the worst. there's a bunch of reasons for me to dislike the guy, but the main one is just how messy he is. let's not count the quirks they added to him, just focus on the fact that he fucked someone on day 1 from casa amor, proceeded to dump her, get with someone else, make her believe he was gonna bring her, only to stay "loyal" to hope and pretend none of that happened. why does this guy has stans is beyond me. -15/10.

lottie. here's why. she's a damn hypocrite and self righteous, always butting in people's business, never owning up to what she does. i only include her in my answers because i indulge the people that follow me, otherwise you would never see her name in my blog. physically? HOT. as a person? HOT MESS. -10/10

hannah. the lack of maturity really turns me off. she was way better on days 1-3 because she was being herself. the cringiest thing i can think for someone to do is to fake their confidence and pretend they're fine when they're CLEARLY NOT. if you know you're the shit you don't have to announce it, people know it. -5/10

felix. HE'S ANNOYING. -2/10

elijah. they made him continuously flirt with chelsea behind mc's back. then again, casa guys, because of the inconsistencies, will be rated low in this list. we are talking about game personality, not headcanons and such. 3/10

priya. she's immature as fuck. hot? yes. messy? unfortunately YES. i can't help but think about the way she threw the PRIVATE CHAT noah had with her on hope's face, in front of everybody. that really turned me off a lot. it's all besides the things she had done before, like operation, slime challenge... i don't know man, i want to believe she matured but... meh. yes, the hottest girl, physically, but not the best female li by a long shot. not even close. 4/10

kassam. i like him, i really do, but i prefer the 'constructed by headcanons" version i have of him. realistically there's not a lot to go from, the game didn't give us nearly enough. they did all the casa guys dirty, and particularly my favorites: kassam, arjun and carl. we get glimpses of who he is, what he does/likes, but to me it wasn't enough. also, kassam is not my type if we're talking body. 5/10

arjun. HE'S JUST SO DAMN HOT, physically, but the yoga story? oof, that was rough. granted, i do like his chat, particularly the one we have during brunch. if you go along with his goofiness, there's so much hidden below that mustache... but still, afterwards, just like the others, he becomes the same person as the og's. in my opinion, top 3 anime betrayals of all time, he also deserved better. appearance? 10/10. route/personality? 5/10

carl. aaaaaaaah. i have a multichapter post-villa story for him and still, he's gonna be pretty low in my list. WHERE'S THE ORIGINAL STORYLINE? WHERE'S THE COMMITMENT ISSUES BEING WORKED ON? WHERE IS THE WORKAHOLIC ANXIETY BECAUSE HE'S WORRIED ABOUT HIS COMPANY?? 6/10.

marisol. eh. it's complicated for me to talk about her because i don't really... care for her as an li. not because of her, but because of her route. as a person? i wish she was more confident in her choices. she says that graham trying to make her jealous is a bit childish but isn't that what she's doing by bringing him back? fusebox just really fucked marisol up and i hate them for it. appearance? 12/10, i think she's so damn hot, but overall? meh, 6.5/10.

bobby. yeah, yeah, i know, you love him. good for you. i can't stand impressions, and that's like 80% of his sense of humor. i think bobby, as an li, is fine. there wasn't anything thrilling in his route so his looks don't really matter to me. i find him cute and dependable, but i don't think cute does it for me. i like troubled people, you know? going through some shit, discovering things about themselves, growing, maturing, the whole thing. bobby is really an interesting guy, and he's really cute, i just don't find him appealing enough to make me fan myself. plus, he gets away with operation rather quickly and i don't... HMMMMM, i don't know... seems like there was a lot of double standards going on, you know? he doesn't make my heart race and at the end of the day, that's what attraction really means to me. as a person? 10/10. looks? 10/10. overall? 7/10.

noah. ah, my guy, shit or get off the pot. i do find noah EXTREMELY attractive, partially because of his looks, but also that warm personality and the way he talks about everything. to me he's fucking dreamy, absolutely tender and endearing, accidentally funny, and really sexy. i love him, i do, BUT the indecision my guy, holy shit. that takes away so much of the person he actually is. looks? 100/10. those eyes are sooo fucking hot! like, him, as a whole, holy shit. i reckon someone like him is the type of person that go viral every five years or so on facebook, and everyone is fainting when seeing him. that's how GOOD he looks. but like... not making up his mind? really drops the heart rate for me. 8/10.

rahim. fucking boy really got every single stan on their toes during the season, didn't he? NO ONE SAW THAT SHANNON FOOTAGE COMING. he was already really hot and gorgeous, but after he brought shannon, then dumped her for jo? THE AUDACITY?? 10 times hotter. he really said "oh, you think i'm harmelss? alright. watch me." i was like "alright, boy, pop off. do your thing. i'm gonna steal you anyway." and i did. and you know what? no regrets! i love his route from the beginning, i love his personality, i love his looks, i just wished they gave him a better night outfit, but that's not his fault. ibrahim to me is the second most underrated li in the game, and the fact that he can solve the rubik's cube, blindfolded, while doing crunches? BITCH, HE DOESN'T GET ENOUGH CREDIT. just for that, he should've been received by a red carpet made of panties. he's a solid 9/10 for me on every topic and 10/10 on looks.

elisa. now listen, disregard the "gossip sneezer" hiccup, elisa is not only accomplished being so young, she's unapologetic about her opinions, HELLA SMART, hard working, extremely sexy and just overall really attractive to me. here's the thing, they really tried to make us hate her because of the whole ordeal, but do you remember how sweet she is when she's trying to hide the fact that she's into mc? she's all clumsy, talkative, stuttering. she doesn't know where to look or what to do. i love that. she's super confident in herself but she kind of loses the floor when she sees mc, and i don't think there's anything cuter than that. i'm rating her high because she knows what she wants and she goes and fucking gets it, but not before going through an anxiety spiral and having to calm herself down. RELATABLE. the fact that she's so nervous, and really waits around for mc, is fucking cute. i like her, like i genuinely like her. she's not my type because i usually prefer thiccccccc, but she's still one of my favorites, and i wished her route was a bit longer. sneaking around with her, before we get a chance to couple up, is also really sweet. she gives a lot of reassurance, way more than other li's ever do. solid 10/10

henrik. i have the softest spot for him. i didn't care for him at first, not gonna lie. to me he was really goofy and just... too much. like, high energy. but after a couple of times just noticing what he was saying, the way he talked about love, connections, people in general? i was hooked. i love him, i really do. there's just so much tenderness to go around, he's so thoughtful and sweet, besides being quite quirky, but in a way that doesn't come across as trying hard. he's humble, smart, hot, cute, warm. i just really don't understand why he doesn't have more stans. yes, he brings blake back, but the imagery of him running towards mc, flipping his hair on jakub's face is just... ideal. he's a puppy, the good kind, and soft and unintentionally funny. AND HE HAS LONG HAIR. 10/10

gary. he's corny at times, but he has a good heart. i think he's funny without trying, has no shame in asking for a cuddle, is super massive body wise, which i honestly find so attractive. i could do without the brows but we make it work. besides that, he's a really simple guy, in a way that he doesn't need much to be satisfied. not everyone needs to be awarded or celebrated, and he gets it. he understand that he doesn't need to go long lengths to feel confident and appreciated. he just wants to live a nice life with a girl, have some kids, work, see his friends, his family. gary just wants to be happy and that comes through his route multiple times. besides all that, as a person who was invested in mc, he's charming as fuck. like- he just knows what to say and when to say it. i like his intimate scenes more than some of the li's combined. his looks, personality, storyline, dialogues, thunder thighs, tiddies. he's a solid 11/10 for me.

lucas. are we surprised? he's the most attractive because of everything that comes out of his mouth, and how. he's just out here, looking at us while we talk, giving smirks and fucking eyes, not caring if he makes us flush/feel warm. to him the more the better. he knows what to say, when to say it, how to say it and you know what? i can't help but loving him. he wants his freedom, he travels, he enjoys life but also wants to take care of the next one. he cares about the things that i care about, which is being a good person, learning how to be better, enjoying the opportunities that come, not give a shit about what people think. he's living his best life and it doesn't matter if he's villa! or returning!. i love that for him. and not to mention, i do think he's the hottest guy in all seasons. he doesn't wait around to give his opinion but he's not giving it if no one asks him, he's self aware. and despite being all that, he's still vulnerable at times, very noticeable when he feels a bit lonely, and yes he made mistakes, but everyone did. lucas is just the most attractive because he's authentic, unapologetic and fucking hot as hell. solid 12/10.

ugh, now... season 3. i genuinely hate the season it was too short i was bored and the only good thing to come out of it besides tai was... wait, there wasn't any. besides, say what you want, the li's weren't as interesting and the fandom is doing fusebox' job with headcanons and fanfics. don't be angry at me for telling as it is.

bill. AWFUL DESIGN. this one, indeed, is butt ugly. bill stans, if you find a faceclaim that DOESN'T look like the most ordinary fucking man you've ever seen, i'm sorry, that faceclaim does not apply. the guy has absolutely nothing going for him. no looks, no interesting personality, disgusting mayo talk, and he's kind of a douche. he might be RIGHT THERE with jakub for me, not gonna lie. actually, he's in the very bottom with jakub and dylan from s4. hate the guy.

ciaran. oh my god, just shut up about ireland and dogs already. here's the thing, ginger man are ATTRACTIVE to me, but where's the rest?? they did him really dirty and if he was supposed to only get a personality on boat party (if he ever got one) i didn't have the patience to wait for it. it's kind of like "you have to keep watching this show, it gets really good on episode three." I DON'T HAVE TIME OR ABILITY TO FOCUS FOR THAT LONG, DUDE, GIVE ME THE GOOD STUFF RIGHT AWAY OR PERISH, and that's ciaran for me.

rafi. meh. i do like his looks a lot, even though i feel they chose to make rafi as far from arabic as possible (as a person of color, who's a product of many ethinicities fucking each other, i know how that sounds. and i know egyptian people can look like a lot of ethnicities because mixing and all that, but i feel just a LITTLE BIT of apprehension from the company regarding his looks, and i can't stop thinking about it ok??? it's like this my guy, if rafi looked more like arjun and less like himself, would fusebox give him a butt storyline? MOST LIKELY. that's the thing. i feel they would've given him a really bad characterization, maybe even a harmful stereotype if he looked "more arabic" it's what i'm saying, but that's a conversation for another post). regardless of that, rafi is hot, yes, but he talks about his brother once, and then presses the "douchey actor button" on him and becomes a stereotype. i can't, y'all, i hate it.

camilo. OH MY GOD. they dismissed nicky as an li for these dudes? bill, ciaran, rafi, camilo? it's a no from me dog. camilo calling mc mamacita told me everything i needed to know: they were catering to clueless people that aren't latinx/hispanic/spanish and you can't change my mind. 'mamacita' is cringe as fuck. "ah, vena, that's not his entire personality." what is then? can you give me his character sheet? 'cause fusebox certainly didn't.

lily. MEH. next.

aj. SHE'S ADORABLE, don't get me wrong, but i've said many times before, i can't be attracted to her. i don't know why, i just can't. maybe it's how much energy she has and i couldn't keep up even if i tried...? maybe it's because she looks a bit... what's the word i'm looking for? GULLIBLE. that's what it is, she looks gullible. not dumb nor ignorant, just a bit too innocent. as an li? not interested. but i can say aj is objectively really beautiful and hot, i'm just not attracted to her. i feel protective over her.

yasmin. hot and a musician, and they still managed to not give her enough lines to save her life. during the season i noticed she barely had any screen time if she wasn't the li. granted, when she was, that stayed true too. not her fault, the game's. she had the most potential with me because guess the fuck what?? I LOVE CUTE GIRLS THAT ARE MUSICIANS, WHO DOESN'T?? but the lack of everything, the lack of time, of dialogues, back story, the detailing... i need more.

harry. here's the thing. the whole anger management thing was a very interesting storyline. did they do anything with it? no. did they ever touch the subject again? once, brushing it off rather quickly. do i think harry is hot? NOT IN THE SLIGHTEST. he looks so young to me! like... not young like some asian actors and singers do, no! he looks 14-16 to me, and that's the biggest "it's a no from me dog" ever. there's no fucking way i could ever think of him that way.

tai. COME ON, YOU KNEW THE RANKING OF SEASON 3. it had to be tai, he's borderline perfect to me. from design to personality. granted he didn't have any... twists in his storyline, BUT, his charm makes up for a lot of the mistakes they made in the season (in his route, that is, let's not get it twisted, i have no idea how much screentime he has out of it). tai is really about the personality they gave him, the one we can capture during the season, because DON'T GET ME STARTED ON BOAT PARTY. i don't know what that was and i pretend it never existed.

season 4. *insert disgust sound here*

read my words: NAJUMA, WILL, CORA, ANGIE, THABI, VALENTINA AND OLIVER FOR THE WIN. i don't even know who's a li besides najuma, will, angie and oliver to be honest, but i don't care.

kobi and james look so boring to me it hurts. none of the other men look remotely interesting, pretty, cute, handsome or hot. none of them have awaken anything in me that wasn't anger about their designs, which i hate with a burning passion.

i didn't play season 4 but i'm sleeping TIGHT knowing fully well i didn't waste my precious time.

i don't need to eat chocolate with pork to know it's gonna taste like the devil's anus, so for that reason, i have zero intentions of playing it. unless i can profit from it somehow, but until then, it's another no.

What are your thoughts on the new episode? How do you think the next one will go?

thanks so much! this is gonna be lengthy so i'm gonna put an expand thingy if i can- never have done it before so bear w me lol. below the read more will be my hot takes regarding Dox, Victor, pie scene, etc

if i can get enough work done this weekend, i'm hoping to give some of the new episodes a rewatch. when i see them for the first time, my brain can get really caught up on what is happening what is happening that it prevents me from taking in the finer details that make the show so enjoyable. i think this has been compounded by s2 focusing a lot more heavily on racing the plot forward rather than allowing for characters to process things slowly, so i would like to give them another go knowing what will happen and having my fine-detail lenses on.

that being said, the new episode did catch me off guard! i knew a plot twist was coming because it had been teased, but the victor spagettification was NOT what i saw coming and it actually made my jaw drop. i had assumed the spaghetti line to be a throwaway one so having it actually pay off was wild. it was a noble end for victor, although i wish we had gotten a chance to spend more time with him because i thought he was very compelling.

something i was conflicted on was taking Dox and her group back into the TVA and then having b-15 ask them to come back because she knows deep down they are good after they had just killed an unknown number of people and we saw them witnessing that grief in real time (this was especially the case w B-15, who was heartbroken!). narratively speaking i didn't find that super compelling and others have addressed their problems with that better than i have. HOWEVER dox and the others being squished? was also not what i saw coming, especially after that wtf thing between Dox and Brad. i have no idea if we'll ever get answers on that! but i wish we got to see more of Dox- maybe she'll come back around.

sylvie yelled at mobius, people got mad at his, but it was clearly building up to something that is going to pay off in a later episode. and honestly- was she wrong? why is he being so chill about this all? this is going to be investigated later, and i would venture to guess it's because he's pretending everything is fine and cool when in reality all he knows and loves is collapsing around him. seeing that lead to discourse rather than people understanding it as foreshadowing made me lose a little faith in people's media literacy LMAO.

sylvie. my beloved. we saw her smile over killing HWR and I thought that was really interesting, something i will probably write a whole meta on later- hint: i think she is both genuinely proud of and sorrowful over her actions. her conversation with loki in the pie room was something i highly enjoyed. hope is hard. that being said, i was hoping for more dialogue between them. they're still circling everything. BE BRAVE AND SAY WHAT U WANT TO SAY LOKI. BUT them teaming up against Brad was LEGENDARY. screaming "turn it off"? are you kidding me!!!! LOVED IT. Loved the "Are you okay" and "tech savvy" callbacks. mwah it was so good.

i have no idea what the new episode will bring beyond hopefully that bar scene finally and also the scene where sylvie gets to listen to her records because those were featured in the trailer and we still haven't gotten them yet! obviously it isn't the end of the world, but what does it mean? a great question! was the TVA all for nothing? how would that impact our characters, realizing everything they knew was a lie? great motivation i hope we will have time to explore!
