Rhaenicent Fanfic during Alicent's imprisonment / stockholm syndrome, obssesive Nyra
..........................................................................
The door unlocks, alicent prayed for the intruder to be one of the maids responsible for bringing her food, but she quickly realised her prayers fell on deaf ears when the unmistakable sound of heels echoed in the room.
Every step taken made a thud against the concrete floor. Under the blanket, the queen regent was curled into a little ball, her knees hugged closely to her chest as she heard her captor approaching. A shiver running down her spine and teeth chattering from the chill. If she could just pretend to be asleep...
But Rhaenyra was no fool, never had been. She sat down right at the end of the outline of her precious prisoner's silhouette. For a moment she stayed unmoving, gazing at the little trembling bundle beneath her.
Alicent's heart was ringing loudly in her ears.
A hand rested briefly at her hip, before the blanket was pulled down leaving her exposed to the cold air. The thin nightgown she was made to wear offered very little warmth after all.
She whined in protest and buried her head further closer to her knees. I can't take this, not again
It's near agony, to be unfolded from where she layed. To be forced out of her trembling ball and arranged to a sitting position by gentle hands.
Her back was met with Rhaenyra's torso and she started to thrush against her captor's grip.
"Shhh" the queen hushes and her grip around her waist tightens just slightly. "Don't make this more difficult on yourself, I don't wish to hurt you".
How Ironic
She felt Rhaenyra's breath ghost over the shell of her ear and soon enough the familiar pot was brought close to her lips.
"No- no please you don't have to do this"
She continued thrashing desperately but her struggling was in vain, Rhaenyra didn't budge in the slightest, The pot was brought closer.
"Please i- I'll do what you wish there's no need for this i- I'll be good- so please" She weeped and keened, turning her head away from the liquid.
She felt Rhaenyra's chest rise and fall with a soft hum and then a pair of hot lips grazed gently against her pulse.
"oh sweet thing.."
The woman's heart flattered with hope, was her begging successful after all?
"..I know you will be"
Alicent felt her stomach drop and in one swift motion a hand grabbed her jaw and forced her mouth open and the bitter contains of the pot flowed in her mouth.
She wanted to chock and spit it out, but the woman holding her made sure she swallowed everything, a firm hand keeping mouth locked in place.
When Rhaenyra heard the last swallowing sound she removed her palm and pecked Alicent's rosy cheeck.
"See that wasn't so hard" She mumbled, satisfied with her captive's cooperation.
Her precious Alicent...she got more and more pliable every time she did this. And the drug should start working right about now.
She tried to move her back on the mattress but was met with resistance, a sob erupting from her darling's throat as she grasped tightly on her tunic. Alicents knuckles turned white as she held on to Rhaenyra for dear life.
"C-cold" is the only word she could master out as she began feeling feverish. Her head was spinning, her ears ringing loudly and God- the nausea was nearly overwhelming. She wanted to scream and curse but the only thing coming out were breathy pants and whimpers.
She felt so small, so useless and so so cold
Her caretaker turned her completely so she was on her lap. Two strong arms soon surrounded Alicent and she was finally warm again. Warm, safe...
She was shivering in Rhaenyra's embrace, feeling slightly delirious and her head was oh so heavy on her shoulders,  so she dipped forwarded and nestled in the crook of her savor's neck. She was warm enough that the heated palms on her back made her cling tighter on the source of comfort as if it was her only tether to life. The tears running down her cheecks felt even warmer.
"Relax, it's over now, you did so good love"
Rhaenyra sooths. "I'm here, you're safe"
I'm safe. It was spoken like a promise, and in her delirious state, drifting further away from consciousness, Alicent believed it.
If she did just this little thing...if she behaved...then Rhaenyra could be her safe Haven, just like when they were kids...She would protect her from the people who want to hurt her, Rhaenyra would care for her..
Would love her
The only thing she had to do...was obey, just like she had done her whole life. Only now...it would be worth something
It would secure her princess's love
This is just a payment, a show of gratitude
The cold momentarily returned before She was met with soft sheets.
"N...No don't-"
Rhaenyra, gently, moved her so she was lying down. She took her arm, locked the golden handcuff around it and kissed her knuckles softly. She would thrash again when she was awake, even in the foggy headspace the drug offered, this was just a safety measure.
She wrapped her with the blanket so she was nice and warm. "I'll be back later with food, rest now my sweet"
And with that, Alicent slipped completely into unconsciousness.
Rhaenyra got up. As she gazed down at her beloved once more, adoration filled the black queen's heart. Her beautiful Alicent, she looked so calm and vulnerable in her sleep.
She would eventually understand why Rhaenyra is doing this...not yet, she needed to- break her in a little first but soon enough. She will realize that being kept here is the only way her queen could keep her safe. Rhaenyra would take care of her, tend to her every whim, and pumper her with praise and gentle touches. Drown her in pleasure so in due time- her body and soul would surrender to Rhaenyra completely.
And no one would separate them again

Why do you think Larys gravitated towards Alicent and not say Rhaenyra? Did he think Alicent was easier to manipulate and more vulnerable or did he just think the greens were a safer bet?
it's half and half. i don't think larys is doing all that because he particularly believes in the traditional male inheritance and is ideologically aligned with the greens, nor that he thinks they are the safest bet (if he believed in this he would not have murdered his family lol). we don't actually know what are his grand plans in the books or in the show but while i don't believe it has to do exactly with personal power, it has to do with getting him into a position of considerable influence over the realm's affairs.
after saying this we can say that targeting alicent makes more sense than rhaenyra. why? for the same reason otto decides it's better to make alicent visit viserys to eventually trap him into marrying her rather than try to guide rhaenyra from zero. alicent is more pliable, more naive, and more willing to follow than to lead, even if she doesn't realize it that moment as the mother of the possible future king she has a lot of influence in court and council; larys has been watching her since she became queen (notice how he inserted himself in the women's circle during the hunt) and found her to be in the right position AND disposition. it was no accident that he finds her just after saying goodbye to otto in the godswood: she's finally free from her biggest influence, has no support system, and in such a vulnerable state that when larys does his tricks she falls really easily and believes all his words (the-green-dress-ramin-djawadi.mp3) because he empathizes with her ("when one is not invited to speak..."), speaks her fears out loud (rhaenyra, her lack of allies) and offers her his support when all she had was through otto.
as for larys, i like to think that he saw some parts of himself in her (outsiders, under strict parents, intelligent and overlooked), esp during those ten years of dinners where the friendly facade (or was it?!?!) was firmly in place (rip alicent you are never getting away) and that's why he doubles down in his punishments when she denies him. in any case, this would not had happened with rhaenyra at all. larys needs an entry and the only moment rhaenyra is vulnerable is when daemon leaves her pants down in the brothel, she's much more guarded and knows how to wield her privileges. poor larys would've been kicked out immediately plus after rhaenyra started seeing harwin there was NO WAY larys was going for the same route, that his brother liked her was already a mark against.
i think at this point when aegon was a baby many people were just waiting for viserys to change his mind, he doesn't really do much for rhaenyra so for them it was a matter of time. i think this is true for larys and because he's practically put all his eggs in alicent's basket he's throwing himself to be the best pet spy in the realm and not lose the foothold he has in the queen until the moment she or the cause is not useful to his goals anymore (let's remember he installed one of the puppet kings, did nothing when daemon took harrenhal, when alys did the same, and well, he did poison aegon lol).

Struggling to see why I should feel sympathy for Alicent. Rhaenyra is the rightful heir who had consensual sex with someone she’s attracted to, she didn’t owe Alicent the truth - it was none of Alicent or Otto’s business. The fact we’re meant to be going “oh poor baby, she’s so upset” has me doing the exact opposite. She should get over to, it’s not like she told Rhaenyra about her secret meetings with the king either.
ohh Anon thank you so much for this ask (also sorry it took me a few days to reply). After last night I became a hardcore Rhaenyra Targaryen defender. You're right, Alicent was not sympathetic at all this last episode. I had the exact opposite reaction to her antics and I'm already annoyed by the justifications out there from some of her hardcore defenders. I was planning on doing a separate essay this week but since you asked I'll just go for it now.
So here goes.
In Defense of Rhaenyra Targaryen:
In this essay, I will......
establish that Rhaenyra never ever got a fair shot and Alicent is a jealous bitter woman who believes she's powerful but is truly just a perfectly crafted pawn of her father and the patriarchy.
I feel like a common theme among some of the viewers has been that Alicent's extreme actions this episode make sense and being upset at Rhaenyra is justified and a few times I sat there reading it trying to figure out if I watched the same show because it's just such a nonsensical conclusion to make.
let's start with the first complaint
"Rhaenyra's lie got Otto removed as hand"
Lie. OTTO'S OWN AMBITION IS WHAT GOT HIM REMOVED AS HAND. NOT RHAENYRA'S LIE.
Otto has had a conflict of interest this entire time. The moment he pimped his daughter out to the king to advance his agenda is the moment is job became precarious. The man had been plotting to have Aegon take the throne in place of Rhaenyra this whole time. He was always going to make a move to convince Viscerys to disinherit her and that move was always going to be extremely risky but I don't think Otto even realized how risky it was because of his arrogance and his belief that he could easily manipulate Viscerys. Daemon called this from episode 1 when he told Viscerys that Otto was a vulture preying on his weakness and Viscery didn't listen. The man was so blinded he didn't even realize Alicent was a carefully planned plot by her father until the last episode. Because he was so arrogant and he underestimated how much Viscerys loves Rhaenyra (of course a man who pimped out his own daughter would think other fathers don't give a damn about theirs) he didn't expect his actions would ever lead to Viscerys actually doubling down on Rhaenyra as heir. If it wasn't this scandal it was going to be another crafted up by him to get rid of her. So Rhaenyra's lie didn't directly lead to shit, besides exposing otto as the conniving schemer that he always was and he did that on his own. Viscerys didn't even believe Rhaenyra. Like I'm almost positive the man truly believes Daemon took his daughter's maidenhead so how can it all be blamed on Rhaenyra lying? Moral of the story is Otto would still be hand if he wasn't ambitious and knew how to mind his own fucking business.
Speaking of minding one's own business that brings me to the next complaint
"Rhaenyra lied to Alicent and Alicent was supposed to be her friend"
Somebody, anybody please tell me why who Rhaenyra decides to pussy pop for is Alicen't business? Why exactly was Alicent owed the truth on what Rhaenyra did that night and with who? Does Alicent have some sorta ownership over Rhaenyra's vagina? Not to mention Rhaenyra technically didn't even completely lie to her. She admitted they went to the brothel and she said that Daemon left her there and they didn't have sex, both of which were true events. Alicent asked her if she had sex with DAEMON. She never asked her if she had sex with anybody else. Rhaenyra didn't have sex with Daemon. Her sexual encounter with Criston wasn't her damn business and she never asked so how can you claim you were lied to.
Not to mention how is Rhaenyra being villainized for maintaining her own privacy when Alicent was the first one to deceive someone in his friendship? Did Alicent tell a grieving Rhaenyra that she was spending time with her father? No, she did not. Did Alicent tell Rhaenyra that she was sitting in meetings with her father who is straight up telling her he's working to replace her as heir to the throne? No, she did not. If she was such a concerned friend who valued transparency why has she never been transparent with Rhaenyra? When has Alicent ever divulged information to Rhaenyra that could work against her? So she's owed transparency but Rhaenyra isn't?
What good would telling Alicent the truth do for Rhaenyra? Would Alicent have been any less judgemental? She would still be looking at Rhaenyra like an unrepentant whore. If anything telling the truth would have done more harm than good because from Rhaenyra's perspective Criston could have gotten in trouble and now the mother of the other person threatening her succession would have information she could use against her. What was stopping Alicent from trying to convince Viscerys that his whore daughter is going to bring shame to his reign if he doesn't replace her with their son? So why tell her the truth? Why was she owed the truth in the first place?
If anything Alicent's behavior proved exactly why Rhaenyra shouldn't have told her a damn thing. She found out Rhaenyra had sex and decided to basically declare war like that's completely rational behavior over something that was already cleaned up nicely by Viscerys. Not a single soul knew Rhaenyra fucked Criston and Rhaenyra's betrothal to the richest house in the realm was already secured so what harm did Rhaenyra's sexual exploits bring politically? The only thing it hurt was her feelings and instead of trying to talk it out or calm down she decides she's done with rhaenyra and is gonna come for her birthright. All this over the fact that Rhaenyra had sex. BECAUSE RHAENYRA HAD THE AUDACITY TO MAKE A CHOICE ABOUT HER BODY AND NOT DIVULGE THE DETAILS OF THAT CHOICE TO PEOPLE WHO AREN'T OWED ANYTHING IN THE FIRST PLACE.
And this brings me to my biggest point. At this point, Alicent is willingly a tool for the patriarchy and that's her ultimate problem. She resents that she was dangled to viscerys and is a moist empty hole and baby maker. The only way she can cope with her own circumstances is by convincing herself that living within a strict patriarchal society is actually the best way to live a life. The freedom Viscerys allows Rhaenyra spits in the face of her only coping mechanism. Viscerys gives Rhaenyra a choice in her marriage. Rhaenyra gets to explore her sexual desire in the way men get to explore their sexual desire and even when it angers her father he doesn't discard her for her behavior, he actually protects her by making sure she doesn't have any unintended consequences that could jeopardize her status as heir and by brokering the perfect marriage agreement for her. None of this aligns with what Alicent believes is right according to the patriarchy. Rhaenyra is not doing her duty as a woman and is being protected and rewarded while she's doing her duty and is being ignored but instead of challenging her own belief system and the system as a whole in the way that Rhaenyra has done more than once, she doubles down on it. She holds on even tighter to the ideas of the patriarchy and starts to resent Rhaenyra for constantly reminding her of her own delusions that she willingly becomes a tool for it. She's about to do everything she can to destroy a woman who has the audacity to live her life outside of the narrow confines of what the realm thinks womanhood should entail WITH THE BLESSING OF ALL OF THE MEN AROUND HER so that she can be the righteous woman in the wings, the exemplary woman of the patriarchy who does the "right" thing by propping up a different heir solely because he has a penis.
Because that's really what all this hoopla comes down to. Daemon said it best. The men can run around in every brothel in the city, have as many mistresses and bastards as they want, and experience whatever sexual desire they want and no one bats an eye but women in Westeros absolutely can not. They can't be true heirs because they don't have a penis, they can't want to have sex, and they can't want anything besides to be a support for their husbands and nurturing mothers. The second they do anything outside of these limited things they are horrid women who can't be trusted with the realm. That's why some fans think Rhaenyra committed a horrible sin for fucking and not being transparent bout who she was fucking. That's why people think Rhaenyra is to blame for Criston's actions even though he had CONSENSUAL sex with her ONE time and she never ever gave him the impression it was some intense love connection. Deluding yourself to believe a princess and heir to a throne would ever reasonably give that up to be your poor and bored little wife is a glaring example of patriatchy-inspired delusion but Rhaenyra is the bad person here. She doesn't owe him a relationship, she doesn't owe him shit but she's at fault for everything. It's why you have people claiming Rhaenyra should be removed as heir because by the age of 19 she hasn't "shown she can be a good queen" even though her replacement would be a whole ass toddler who hasn't done a single thing so show he can be a better alternative besides being born with a penis.
It's not Rhaenyra's fault she is not brainwashed by the patriarchy like Alicent. It's not Rhaenyra's fault that Alicent has no real thoughts of her own, only the thoughts of the men around her that she's adopted as her own. Why should Rhaenyra have to play by Alicent's rules of who a woman should be and how she should behave? Fuck her and her precious patriarchy. Even if/when things go wrong for Rhaenyra I'll always be glad she didn't bow down and accept the confines Alicent and the rest of the realm tried to place on her. If/when she dies at least she dies as a woman who navigated a close-minded society on her own terms. That's better than going to the grave as a repressed and miserable obedient pawn for a patriarchy that will forget your name before your body is even cold.

I don't like Bella Swan she is obsessive, she strings Jacob along, very judgemental of other's looks, she throws tantrums like a child, also at the ending of Twilight how did she not know Edward and Alice got her all dressed up for prom, she can find out what Edward is but not the prom thing. Totally makes sense. She ditches her human friends for the vampire family, like they were nothing. She only cared about first, not wanting to be in Forks, then Edward and only Edward. Also, she hurt my man Charlie like what the fuck.
Book Two- New Moon
When Edward leaves she goes catatonic, depressed for months. She wakes up screaming, scaring Charlie, refusing help, and lies to him to get him off her back. Saying she has friends like Jessica.
Those friends she talks about mean literally nothing to her but a cover story. She forces her way back into their friend group because she wants to know about the "bears" in the woods.
She strings Jacob along. Worse than the first book where she flirts with him to get information about the Cullens. This time, although she says she has no feelings for him her actions say other wise. She uses him to make herself feel better. He's the sun and Edward the moon.
Poor Jacob becomes a wolf and pushes her away because he doesn't want to force her into his world and because he has too.
She forces herself onto him, he spills the beans because he loves her. Then she is like you're killing people you monster. What the fuck. He isn't the right monster for her. Did I forget she becomes an adrenaline junky just to see Edward or the fact she ditched Jacob and her father for him.
Third book- Eclipse
She kisses Jacob when she's engaged to Edward. Although he did force her to once and manipulated her into doing it the second time. Just so he could run off into the fight anyway.
Bella is just a big horny dog.
Also love Jasper he's my favorite.
Book four- Breaking Dawn
Nasty... Also the fact Edward tried to sell her off to Jacob is fucking wrong and disgusting that Jacob is tempted by this and he imprints on a child. A baby. Also thats not how eggs work my guy.
Why did they send Carlisle away and not the others like Edward who can read their fucking minds. The wolves plans could have easily gone to shit with him there.
They could have done both IV blood and drinking and have the others go out to get more or maybe use Charlie as a way to get passed the wolves they wouldn't risk exposure or a human life. Hidden Bella and Edward somewhere in the house.
Renesme is that how you spell it. Is dumb. Also imprinting is grooming and predatory. The other Hybrid was a better match for her when she was older. Also Jacob already saw her romantically. He's just waiting until she's older.
Poor Charlie being alone and pushed to the side.
Rene is a bad mom. She parentified her child. Bella is literally the adult and Rene the child. Bad mom.
Edward is a pedophile just as much as Jacob. He controls Bella or tries to. Has destroy her things to get what he wants. Asshole. He takes his anger out on her where she is afraid to say anything just so he wouldn't get angry. He has trapped her. Stalks her. Mental abuses her. Literally wants to kill and eat her. Just why.
Edit: she hates when she doesnt have his attention and gets upset when hes gone from book one and all.
Reminds me of Sakura. They got everything they wanted. The man, the family, the power, not so useless anymore.

a story - ch 6
Fast forward...
"What is the meaning of this? We were working together! We had a deal!"
"I'm sorry Sir, but your 'deal' just expired."
"Why are you doing this? I treated you like my own, Marcus. My son."
"Can you just stop calling me that? It's so annoying when you do that, Mr. Kingsley."
Marcus ran a hand through his hair. Everything was going as planned. He just had to get rid of one more person, and then everything would fall into place. That last person was Caleb Kingsley.
"As I am going to kill you anyway, I don't see why I shouldn't reveal my grand scheme. You see, for years Kingsley Enterprises was my goal. I worked for it and soon wanted it all for myself. I realised the best way to do that would be to get closer to its boss, you. Working with you, I discovered the hate you harboured against your daughter. You wanted a son and got a girl, a 'disappointment', as you put it. You thought your dear wife loved Clara more and began to resent your offspring."
He paused and went on.
"I decided to use this to my advantage. I manipulated you, ultimately convincing you to get rid of Clara. I suggested the best way to do that would be to kidnap her and then quietly finish her off. You were ecstatic and told me to handle it all. From my sister, I learned Clara, Alice and Emma were going on a picnic. I brought Emma into my plan and threatened to kill her if she exposed me. She is easily scared, silly girl! Anyways, she did as she was told. At the picnic spot, she persuaded Alice to come with her to the stream nearby. Once they were out of sight, I emerged from the woods, asking Clara to come with me, that you wanted her home immediately. The gullible girl complied. Then Emma and Alice returned, and I had my men knock Alice out. I taught Emma what she was to say to anyone who questioned her. Hmm, now that I think about it, that was a pretty poor statement."
"But I failed to account for Alice's intelligence. She soon saw through Emma's lies and confronted her about it. Then I had to take a drastic, unplanned step. And those two exceptional investigators. They met the same end," said Marcus, smiling impishly.
"Now I'm going to kill you. Clara is still alive. I'll rescue her 'dramatically' and become a public hero. With the people distracted by my good deeds, I'll take over your business. And maybe, I'll take your pretty wife too", he chuckled.
"I trusted you!", screamed Caleb in a rage, pouncing onto Marcus. But Marcus was quick.
BOOM!
Caleb Kingsley dropped to the ground. He was dying. He could feel it. This was the end.
"Don't worry. I'll look after your business empire well 'Sir'. That's all you ever wanted, right?"
to be continued

Once Upon A Time Rewatch: 7x13 Knightfall
Tumblr media
I love this episode!
I feel like Alice/Tilly’s precognitive abilities don’t get talked about enough. The fact that she sensed something bad was going to happen while awake shows that they’re not just limited to dreams, and they’re not hindered by the curse. Does she get that power from Gothel?
She gets so excited by simple things like sand, bless her.
“I saw the Witch again.” Gothel! For God’s sake stop haunting Alice’s dreams! Either that or it’s just Alice’s precognition but I’m inclined to believe it’s a mixture of the former and latter.
I wonder how long poor Alice has had nightmares of Gothel.
The knightrook feels are killing me!
Poor Tilly just wanted to hang out and play chess with her Papa.
Oh, Regina and Facilier had sexy time. I always forget that but damn! A win for Shadow Queen!
Eloise be like: "I dislike that word, Gerald; cult. No, it's an exciting new religion that I started!"
I am so confused about Eloise’s angle here. She’s playing games with Rogers rather than giving direct information that could preserve the lives of her coven members. Maybe she just doesn’t care about them. I suppose they can be easily replaced, as they were. Even though members were killed, I believe she still had 7 additional members by 7x19. Maybe there are reserve members?
Rogers must be so confused and conflicted. In his head he’s spent years searching for this Eloise, who he believed to be a vulnerable girl, but now he finds out she’s this confident manipulator of the vulnerable. That’s gotta be playing tricks with his mind.
He still thinks he knows her.
Wish Rumple doesn’t seem all that bad in this episode. He actually seems like he’s trying to help. It’s probably all a manipulation though, going by what we see of him in 6x11, 7x21 and 7x22.
Oh, so I guess even in the EF Rumple’s cage must have drained his power.
Eloise flirting with Rogers gives me the heebie-jeebies. Please just leave him alone!
So, is Eloise trying to wake up Rogers? And if she is, why?
Poor Lucy. That is so much for a little kid to hold on their shoulders.
Can’t they just threaten to arrest Eloise if she doesn’t tell them what she knows or something?
Aww, Smee missed Killian.
I guess Drizella’s feeling like her curse was all a waste of time now.
I’m not even sure if Drizella’s into Henry. I think she just has no one and like, she said, he’s the only person she can talk to. I’m not so sure he would be if he remembered what she did but then again Henry is pretty forgiving. I doubt he’d appreciate the kiss though.
I hate that Gothel does this to Tilly. She has caused that girl so much pain, no wonder Tilly takes one look at her and freaks out.
I just wanna hug Tilly. She needs her Papa. At least Rumple is trying to help.
Wish Hook would slap himself if he saw himself talking to Alice like that. She just wants to help you!
Please listen to her! If only they’d listened to her.
Gothel makes me sick. She can see through that camera, and she knows what she’s doing to Tilly and relishes in it. She’s playing horrible mind games with Tilly, and with Alice in the flashbacks.
I’ve heard theories that Ahab is a glamoured Gothel and I’ve also heard some that suggest Ahab was working for Gothel. She could have poisoned the bullet herself without his knowledge, I suppose. I’m not sure I can see her participating in a duel in disguise as Ahab. She is vulnerable to weapons, I believe, as otherwise the nymphs couldn’t have been killed, so I don’t think she would have risked it.
Ah, now I remember why these theories came about. If he wasn’t either working for Gothel or a glamoured version of her, how could he know Hook’s daughter's name was Alice? I doubt it would be common knowledge, since Hook had to make sure no one knew about her as she was completely vulnerable whenever he left for supplies or to search for a means of helping to free her. Yeah, I think he’s working for Gothel. I’m not sure why though. Probably for gold or a chance at his white whale.
I think that’s what did it for Hook, when he mentioned Alice’s name all bets were off. I believe he agreed to the duel because of his need to preserve his reputation and to prove himself but I think in his head he was protecting her also because if Ahab knew so much about Alice, did he know her location and who else could he tell? I mean, he could have killed Ahab there and then but, yeah, he wanted people to know he hadn’t lost his spark. It could have been a matter of honour and fairness as well. I think he wanted an excuse not to free Rumple as well, as he could easily hunt down him and Alice after escaping.
The sincerity in Wish Rumple’s face and the desperation in his voice when he says: “Otherwise you are gonna lose everything.” He knows exactly what it’s like to lose a child because of one mistake. In this realm all his planning and plotting was for nothing because Bae somehow made it back to the Wish EF and died. I guess that’s another clue that there must be a Wish Neverland.
Hook, no! This is gonna be the biggest mistake of your life!
Ahab is certainly as manipulative as Gothel here. Hmmm.
Get out of Rogers’ head, Gothel! And Tilly’s too for that matter!
It's the Ten Duel Commandments. It's the Ten Duel Commandments.
Then count: One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, number ten, paces. Fire!
I had to, okay xD.
The knightrook montage though! I cry! I would have given anything for more flashback episodes of them but gosh this fandom's fics are heart breaking and beautiful.
Omg I’m not ready for them to be forcefully separated D’:
That guy in the flower shop who says his wife is dead seems so suspicious.
How could the killer be using Eloise to distract Rumple and Rogers?
As if Tilly could knock out the security guard.
Oh God, Tilly. This does not look good.
So Gothel must have put her under a trance and told her to go to the hospital. But why? It seems like Gothel is trying to set her up but why if Nick/Jack is her enemy? She would surely want him caught to prevent him killing other members of her coven. Why would she help him? And there’s surely no way he’s helping her. He said he wanted her dead most of all. I guess she just wanted an opportunity to make Tilly suffer more, to test her guardianship, but then how would she know Nick/Jack was going to the hospital? Unless, of course, she put him under a trance and told him to kill the baker at the hospital. Maybe she wasn’t so fond of the Blind Witch. That has to be the only explanation. Tilly must have been under a trance for her to end up at the hospital without wanting to be there or knowing how she got there. I know she has blank moments, but I don’t see why else she would go there.
Can I hug Tilly, now?! She must be so upset and confused.
Rogers’ and Rumple’s fear when she jumped out of the window. They care for her so much.
I wonder where Alice learnt parkour. Was it on her adventures to Wonderland and other places? Or was Tilly just cursed with memories on how to do that. Honestly, I wouldn’t put it past Gothel to give her those memories in the hopes she’d fall off a building.
Gaaah! I’m not ready for more heartbreak!
That moment when they think she’ll finally be free, and she goes to hug him and aggggh!
Oh my God. Gothel is so evil! That mark literally burned into Alice’s wrist. What a bitch.
Go away, Gothel!!
Gothel, why are you like this?! Did your father abandon you or something. What the hell?!
The poisoned heart curse looks so painful. He’s so determined to get to her.
Alice’s screaming for her Papa to help her D’: He was just forced to listen to her screams, powerless to do anything. His face! It’s freaking heartbreaking!
My eyes! I can’t!
And Alice is just a kid and she’s all alone trapped in an empty tower with only memories of her Papa, with no means of ever escaping if only to see him again. Gaaaaah!
I wish I could remember the name and author of the fic where he keeps trying to climb the tower all night, but he falls and falls, and it only makes things worse. Because that is my headcanon for what happened afterwards, and it breaks me.
I have a headcanon that Gothel came back to taunt Alice throughout the years, just to play mind games and to make her suffering worse. Because she would do that.
Team grandma Regina and Lucy!

Demon Comfort (1/3)
DECEMBER DRABBLES DAY 10 Sanders Sides: Logan, Virgil  Blurb: Lurking under a Human’s bed should be downright dull for a Demon of Logan’s rank. And yet...he can’t help but be intrigued by his human charge. Fic Type: Demon!AU, Demon!Logan  Overall Fic Warnings: Near Death Experiences, Freezing, Burning, Hazing Talk, Manipulation  Taglist in reblog.
It wasn’t the most glorious of jobs. Logan wouldn’t be the first demon to admit it. Lurking under a human’s bed was mundane at best and outright mind numbing at worst.
They were so distracted with their technology these days, so overloaded with sensory input from a variety of sources that most humans would barely twitch if their demon companion made themselves known.
No. Beyond using this as an exercise in learning how to terrorize the youngest of human offspring, ones whose minds were much more easy to scare because of their simplistic fears, the only other time a demon was ever assigned to this task was...well as punishment.
And unfortunately for Logan, who had had a good three millennia of experience under his wings...this was definitely a punishment. To be forced back into lurking under a human’s bed like an overgrown dust bunny.
He knew this sentence was meant to break him. To drive him crazy from how extremely dull it would get as soon as the child grew old enough to stop fearing the monster under their bed.
Except it wasn’t. Logan allowed a small smile to play upon his lips, tail swishing back and forth. Because apparently his superiors could make mistakes. After all, he’d been told he would be condemned to lurking underneath a child’s bed.
Instead, he’d found himself underneath a near-adult’s. One who would soon be leaving his childhood home to pursue an education elsewhere and learn to navigate the world of being an adult on his own.
It had turned out to be a far more interesting punishment than Logan had expected. The near-adults were known to his kind to often be in a stage of tumultuous growth, easy to influence when their heads were filled to the brim with a variety of doubts and fears that hovered like a dark storm cloud above them. A tangle of ever shifting and writhing threads that Logan had learned to love, in the past half year on earth he’d been here, to tease apart and influence so he could better understand what spurred this near-adult through life.
Virgil, the charge he’d been assigned to, truly was a diamond in the rough compared to the other near-adults he’d glimpsed while stuck here. The storm cloud over his head so tangled, that Logan could easily play with the threads for hours, teasing through them, seeing how each dark thought influenced the human as he tossed and turned on the thin mattress over his head each night.
Only Virgil wasn’t currently tossing and turning over his head.
Logan silently exhaled, his breath misting in front of him as his leathery wings twitched in irritation. He ran his fingers over his horns, trying and failing to focus on the Alice in Wonderland book that his charge had left on the floor this morning as he listened to the human shiver on the couch in the living room on the other side of the wall.
He hadn’t often had the opportunity to study humans when their planet frosted over since his particular type of demon preferred the warmer climates of Earth that were similar to his native inner ring of Hell. Had had very little interest in ever doing so.
But Logan’s current human had chosen to move away from the heat and the shining sun when he ‘left the nest’ as his fellow demons termed it.
Further north than Logan would have preferred. But despite hours upon hours of tugging and twisting at the quivering thoughts in Virgil’s mind... this had been one decision he hadn’t managed to turn to his favor.
No, Virgil had wanted a new start far away from his previous life, far far away from everyone he knew, and he’d decided that heading to a colder climate was the best course of action.
Now Logan was definitely regretting not fighting with those slippery thoughts harder. But how could he, or the human, have known that a freak cold snap would leave the state frozen in near arctic conditions?
It was cold enough outside of the four walls of the first floor apartment that humans were dying if they ventured out for longer than a few minutes.
Inside? It was nearly as bad because the apartment had been without power and therefore without its ability to heat the place for the past seventy-two hours.
His charge, his stubbornly stubborn, but very poor charge had to be the only human left in the entire complex. The last of the other residents having left over forty-eight hours ago to safer and warmer options once it became clear that the power couldn’t be fixed until the weather warmed.
If it ever warmed.
Logan shut the book, having not read a single word on the page for the past hour. He rested his head on the cover, wings trembling as he fought to keep his body temperature lower so that no steam would come off his body and alert his charge to his presence.
This would have been much easier if he could just come out from under the bed and take Virgil somewhere warmer. He had wings did he not? He could fly them anywhere--but no.
Logan grimaced, running his tongue over his fangs. Demons and Humans weren’t supposed to mingle unless a Human summoned them.
And until that unlikely event happened.
Virgil couldn’t know he was there.
Which was a pity. Even if he hadn’t had his wings to fly them away, his physical manifestation would have done much in his favor in convincing his charge to leave this frozen wasteland.
Instead, Logan had fought for hours with the tangles in Virgil’s mind, pulling at all the proper strings to get him to leave---and yet again had irritatingly lost to his charge.
There was a reason why he hadn’t minded being stuck with Virgil for the foreseeable future and it was because his, dare he say it? Smart and brilliant human could bring up excellent, if befuddling at times, points to his silent arguments that Logan couldn’t easily manipulate in his favor.
His charge’s finances were borderline nonexistent. Which meant he couldn’t afford to fly back home. And Virgil didn’t own a car so he couldn’t drive anywhere. The buses weren’t running either because of the cold. Nor could he afford to stay in a hotel.
And most unfortunately, moving away from everyone he knew and Virgil’s naturally reclusive nature meant that his charge had no friends or even acquaintances to go live with within a thousand miles while his obnoxiously loud, rude, and inconsiderate roommates had vanished without so much as checking in with him to make sure he had a place to go to.
No. Logan growled under his breath, tail tapping against the floor. For all intents and purposes. Virgil was on his own to survive this cold snap--
He jerked his head up, glancing to the wall with a frown at the sudden silence coming from the other room.
That wasn’t right.
Automatically Logan reached out for the sluggish tangle of thoughts that Virgil always had twisting about his head.
Nothing.
Logan blinked. That definitely wasn’t right. He pushed up onto his elbows, barely remembering to duck his head to avoid piercing the mattress above with his horns.
Virgil couldn’t have left. Not in this weather. He was too cautious for that. Logan would have heard the door slam at least which meant that Virgil was still here and if he was still here he should be able to reach those tangled thoughts even while his charge slept unless Virgil had--had----
“No.” Logan rolled out from under the bed, chest throbbing uncomfortably as he sprang to his feet and burst through the bedroom door into the living room. His wings spread wide as he grabbed the motionless figure from his cocoon of blankets on the couch, wincing at the frozen chill that burned his skin as he cradled the nearly blue human in his arms. His wings snapped shut around the near-adult to insulate him from the cold, his wings taking on a red glow as allowed his inner fire to burn hotter to get heat into his charge’s frozen body.
He should have tried harder to get him to leave! Especially when the power had gone out. He shouldn’t have let--“Virgil.” Logan shook his charge, using the back of his hand to brush the purple bangs from out of the human’s eyes. “VIRGIL.”
The human suddenly gasped, twitching in Logan’s arms as his glazed eyes fluttered open, meeting Logan’s own slitted ones for a heart stopping second before they closed. The human twisted, pressing his frozen face into Logan’s side, violently trembling. “C-c-co-o-ld.” He mumbled.
Alive. The tightness in his chest eased as Logan shoved to his feet, holding Virgil close like a mother cradling her demon spawn as he moved back to his charge’s bedroom where he would be able to use his hellfire in the smaller space more effectively to ensure the young human would survive. “Not for long, I promise you that.”
It wasn’t proper, he shouldn’t have come out and revealed himself like this in the first place without taking on a human disguise. He shouldn’t have cared if Virgil perished. He should have just gone back to Hell to say that his sentence had ended with the death of his charge instead of trying to save him--but propriety could go screw itself.
Virgil was far too interesting of a human to lose to something as stupid as freezing to death.
“Wh-who--y-y-y-you?” Virgil managed to ask through chattering teeth as Logan entered his--well he supposed it was technically their room since Logan lived there too.
“A--” Well he wasn’t really a friend now was he? Demons and Humans couldn’t be friends. And Logan’s actions in toying with the human’s mind would hardly be deemed acceptable in most human social circles he was sure. “A Guardian.” He said, settling on that particular term with a twitch of his tail as he climbed onto the bed, adjusting his wings to ensure that the heat radiating off of him remained focused on keeping Virgil warm.
Technically he was looking out for Virgil’s well-being, even if he hadn’t taken such direct action in doing so before this moment.
The human sighed, eyes fluttering again as his arms shifted, pressing frozen fingers into Logan’s side. “An--An-Angel?” Logan snorted, shaking his head as he carefully ran his clawed fingers through the human’s hair. “Hardly, You may call me…” He took a breath, it was another rule he shouldn’t break, but he’d already broken at least a dozen already. Why not add a lucky thirteenth to the list? “Logan.”
Odds were the human wasn’t mentally cognizant enough for it to do any harm. If luck was on his side, Virgil would think this whole thing a dream once he really woke up.
“Lo.” Virgil breathed, his trembling form relaxing as the blue tinge to his skin faded. “Th-th-thanks.”
Logan swallowed, his hearts stuttering in his chest at the unexpected nickname. Mentally he shook his head, settling them into a more comfortable position where he would be able to leave the human as soon as his body temperature returned to a satisfactory level.
It was nothing. Nothing. The human probably just couldn’t say his whole name without stuttering. That was it. He’d be back under the bed before Virgil woke and the human would think the whole thing a dream. So this...this was nothing. Everything would return to normal on the morrow where Logan would lurk under the bed and the near-adult would remain unaware of just exactly how his room was managing to stay warmer than the rest of the apartment.
And yet.
“You’re welcome.” He whispered, unable to stop running his claws through Virgil’s hair as his shuddering breaths evened out into the steady rhythm of sleep; for once not thinking about picking at the tangle of thoughts faintly twisting above the human’s head.

María Rant (Continued)
I’ve been thinking about that post I previously reblogged and commented on, made by @fuckmeyer and I just wanna add some more points and frustrations that I’ve been thinking of since then.
No, María didn’t “abuse” Jasper.
No, she didn’t “warp his perception of love”
No, she didn’t “HuRt HiM”
No, she didn’t “damage his psyche”
No, she didn’t do any of the shit you white Jasper/Jalice stans constantly yap about her.
Jasper was just a dumbass who easily follows anything because he’s weak and can’t stand on his own.
Look at how easily he followed racist manipulative ass Alice and the Colonizng Cullens. Look at how easily he followed and joined the Fucking Confederate Army.
María didn’t do shit to him or his mind that he hadn’t already done to and/or already possessed the mindset of himself.
She is just a cop out so he never has to take responsibility for what he’s done. He wasn’t abused or manipulated. María barely did shit to him because she actually liked him and saw potential in him, he was literally favored in her eyes. She also let him leave as he pleased. What “evil” “manipulative” “abusive” person just let’s their “victim” leave?? He is not a victim. His grown emotionally manipulating ass was just a dumbass that doesn’t think twice and follows everything blindly.
He’s literally a follower. Like I said he’s also manipulative and violent himself. Let’s not forget how he’s still proud of being a confederate soldier to this day and is still racist and violent. People exactly like him love blaming other people for their own fucked up selves. So excuse me if I don’t believe the whole “sad boi” act he played that resulted in a whole smear campaign against María. He was even like that Before he met María, and it’s been how long since he’s been away and he still hasn’t changed...
Also if he was really that damaged by María and “hates her so much now” then he would NOT be as chill with her as he is to this day and would NOT be sending her well wishes nor would he be thinking of contacting her Ever. The man still has a thing for her yet y’all paint María as the one that “Can’t Get Over Him!!”
Let’s also not forget how tight they were when they were together. They worked extremely well together and got shit done and they seemed fine until Jasper started getting bored, and heart broken. He was obsessed with her, he worshiped her and he loved her but was upset because although she was fond of him and had some feelings for him she couldn’t completely give her all to him due to her own problems and trauma. Now things are suddenly different just because he left.. now everything that ever happened between them was all 100% horrible just because they broke up.. Ok
lmao this is the exact same man who, to this day, still acts the same and is being forced to be someone he’s not, he’s co-dependent on someone else for his happiness and damn near everything, he can’t stand on his own and has zero faith in himself anymore, is constantly watched, treated and reprimanded like a dog whenever he so much as acts even an inch of himself.. but he’s happy.. lol. Yeah he’s happy because he gets to live the good life of being racist and acting like he’s above people again. He’s literally no better at all, he is literally just as bad and is with the same exact people y’all claim María to be.
But no, of course all the blame for Jasper just being a fucked up person is solely placed on the woman, and she’s so evil because she “WaRpeD HiS PeRcePtiOn oF LoVe!” and “IsN’t a GoOd RoMaNtiC PaRtNeR In AnY WaY!”... and I’ve seen these exact words used not only from haters but also people who claim to like her. They’re just showing their ass because they never say this same shit about characters they actually like who are the same way. This tells me that some of y’all only “like” her because other people are starting to realize she wasn’t that evil and are calling y’all out on your double standards and racism so you wanna save face but yet you still talk about and think of her as the “Evil Bitch Villain” who hurt poor baby Jasper and is “lesser than” Cliche White Savior Alice.
Some of y’all only say you “like” María because she serves as the “evil other woman” plot point for your shitty Jalice fics because you get off on making them look like they’re above her and So In Love (with their co-dependent ass relationShit) because you have no actual original writing talent to give them anything else but boring, cold ass, stale, overdone, mysoginistic, racist tropes, and then have to Nerve to think of and call that tripe “María content” when it’s nothing but the same racist stereotypical bullshit y’all BEEN giving her on the rare instances when she’s actually acknowledged and not ignored.
Y’all only think of her in comparison to Alice, Jasper or both and always bring them up whenever it’s supposed to JUST be about María. As if those two don’t get the most attention literally Everywhere Else. Y’all literally can’t let María have anything. Y’all can’t let people talk about Just María without bringing them up and y’all damn for sure can’t let anyone talk about María and her relationship with Jasper without bringing up Alice when she’s not the focus at all. Y’all are so threatened and it shows. Y’all literally just can’t Let María Have Anything without comparing her to Alice/Jalice in some way... As if Mr. and Mrs. Confederate could ever compare to or even touch María in anything lmao.
Let’s also not forget how easily y’all forget and forgive Jasper for being a whole ass Confederate Soldier but will never leave María alone for “MaNiPuLaTiNg JaSpEr!”
Y’all really making hc’s out here about Jasper and any pack member as if he wasn’t a whole ass confederate that’s still proud of it to this day... But let anybody so much as say anything nice about María, they don’t even have to make any hcs about her and anyone else, all they have to do is say they simply like her and it’s “ACsHuALLy ShE AbUsEd JaSpEr SOoO!!!!” Like, I love selective ass people. Everything Jasper did is okay and it’s always Maria’s fault for anything wrong with him but when María actually has valid ass reasons for why she was what she was and what she was forced to do none of that matters and she’s just inherently evil.. and yet.. y’all stan people who are the same way that you hate on her for and act like they’re inherently angels...
Make It Make Sense
Anyways Rant Over and Fuck You annoying racist white people

So Sammy's religious as can be and very devoted, and his mind was just a tad fractured when Bendy nearly kill him, to the point of hallucinating and mistaking Henry for Bendy. His whole sense of purpose and identity stripped away, just like that. While that's a real fun thing to play with all on its own, consider:
Sammy, numb and shaken after that, wandering the studio. Maybe he's just wandering, maybe he's already hunting the ink demon down. Either way, he stumbles into Heavenly Toys. Alice spots him, and whether or not she recognizes him doesn't matter, because Sammy is a traumatized guy who's just been betrayed and abandoned and is ripe for manipulation. As far as canon goes, they're not aware of each other's existence.
Imagine Sammy joining to Alice Angel.
He's actually given a direction, a purpose, in the form of her chores. She's got memorabilia everywhere and could very easily paint herself to be in the same level of power and influence as Bendy. Her never showing herself, being so confident and sure of her goal, and being able to remotely control machinery in Heavenly Toys could make her seem, well, angelic or even godlike. She shares his hate for the ink demon and I can all too easily see her cooing over him, "Oh, you poor thing! You didn't deserve that!" etc.. Sammy may have never even seen a miracle station before, and the concept of these magic anti-demon boxes could give him a sense of safety in her realm.
He's still a nutcase of course, and over time may even lay down his life for her. Alice can trick him in so, so many ways into doing her bidding. There are so many ways it can turn out. Sammy could fight Henry for her. He could kidnap Boris while Henry's away. He could become a willing victim of her experiments and stumble out a blindly loyal abomination.
I just think it's a neat concept
Not said but still a possibility: Alice gives Sammy the tommy gun

I didnt mean bella was weak, that was poor phrasing that I did. What I meant was bella should've stood her ground more. Idk but I've seen this type of stuff happen with people I know and love (like my mom) and the very thought of anyone man, woman, nb, or genderfluid, etc not standing their ground to someone like edward or alice really saddens me, ya know? Like I get in bells case she was just happy to have them back, but is happiness better than talking about things? Idk 🤷🏽🤷🏽
In reference to this ask
Okay, yeah, then I get you about just using 'weak' b/c it's simpler. Did that sentence just make sense wtf. I get what you meant.
And I SO get it about seeing that stuff happen irl. It's different read: not abusive circumstances, but I tend to have this same issue with my mom too. With Bella - I feel like that in Eclipse, even when she did stand her ground or get angry, Edward/Alice just brushed it off. Bella does forgive far more easily than she should though, in New Moon and Eclipse both. Tbh all that is part of the reason I just can't be Team Edward - he's too infantilizing and thinks a quarter page apology and diamond bracelet or whatever can absolve him of emotionally manipulating Bella and curtailing her personal autonomy (a list of e.g. would just be sm bullshit from Eclipse which is why it's my least favorite book). Maybe it's emotional baggage, maybe it's bc I'm an air sign, but I can't stand that shit. He's like a little cockroach with how he gets out of accountability. I probably take what he did more personally than most ppl and that I seem a little over the top, but yeah, you're right, it's just so depressing and frustrating.

MONTHLY RANGE : Eight & Charley & C’rizz (1/2)
Scherzo -  2.5/5 : So... I really don't know how to rate it. Because I recognise the brilliance of the thing (excellent way of using the audio medium, the sound creature was brilliantly creepy and the atmosphere is so cringy but in a good way? Also Paul McGann and India Fisher are excellent and they do have good chemistry together). But I'm not a fan of Eight/Charley so this was kinda … annoying? I liked how the Doctor/companion relationship is explored and I like the fact that companions are memento mori (a nicer way of saying "pets", the Master gets it) but I really hated the idea that Charley was the first one the Doctor really loved (lol no) because like Rose and Clara, Charley is supposed to be """special""" (the difference being that Rose and Clara actually believe that they are special, it's not the case for Charley which is why I don't hate her with all my guts like the other two) in her relationship to the Doctor. Each and every companion has a special relationship with the Doctor, no one is special and the Doctor (whatever the incarnation) loves them all. Period. So yeah, having them mopping for two hours about "You said you loved me, you didn't mean it", "But I love you", "No, I don't love but actually I do, I'm just trying to protect you." was annoying. Just say you love each other, kiss or whatever and move on, but don't linger on it for THREE episodes, thank you very much. And then in the last part, the Doctor admits that he loves all his companions, so yeah great, but what was the point of saying that Charley was the first one half an hour before except pissing me off greatly? Despite all this, this was still a good illustration of my Eight-treats-his-companions-like-shit thesis. (Also, forgot to mention, Eight at the beginning whining about loses his senses … annoyingly brillant and sent me huge Eleven vibes). So yeah, I love some of it and hate other bits, so I guess I'll settle for something in the middle, rating-wise.
The Creed of the Kromon -  2/5 : It was going well pretty much until the end first part. Then it became a huge disappointment. We have two female characters, Charley and L'da, and they're both reduced to being reproductive tools for the Big Bad Bugs of the week and despite saving L'da being C'rizz motivation from the beginning, he just shoots her when he finds her without even considering trying something else to help her, I mean it's not like she begged that bad. And then he's ready to do the same to Charley. Great. Way to go. I hope this trigger-happy tendency will be corrected soon because I do find him an interesting character - I mean he's rough around the edges but there's way for amazing character development so please don't screw this up. The chameleon concept is also great (and wouldn't work on visual medium, let's be honest). Consider me hooked up for the Kro'ka/C'rizz arc (which I don't remember at all btw so that will be like listening to it for the first time). Also, I have to add that Eight's laugh in this episode cleared my skin, watered my crops and all of this. Also! I’m glad to have a Doctor + two companions dynamic, I really love it
The Natural History of Fear -  4/5 : So this was weird. I mean most of Eight's adventures in the main range are weird but this is another level of weird. Like they're really taking meta to the next stage. I don't have much else to say to be honest, except that it was difficult to follow at times but that I obviously loved the 1984 vibes. THIS IS THE VOICE OF LIGHT CITY. WELCOME TO YOUR NEW WORK DAY. TODAY IS HIGH PRODUCTIVITY DAY. Also that end twist *shocked*
The Twilight Kingdom -  2.5/5 : That's not particularly memorable. It really struggles to keep us hooked up for two hours and it didn't really work for me : I've lost interest and let my mind drifted several times and I was still able-ish to understand what was going on. That's not a good sign, people. The interesting bit was at the end with the return of the Kro'ka and how the mystery thickens about this weird place. Also Eight yelling "RASSILLON" at the end … someone's mad at daddy. We get to know a bit more about C'rizz which is always good to take since last episode didn't offer us any insight on his person at all. There's something definitely shifty and not coherent at all about him, like he's supposed to be a pacifist monk and yet, he's a pretty violent lad (I mean, this episode doesn't really count, he was controlled, but in the Creed of the Kromon he's not particularly gentle), which he acknowledges himself (I mean it could just be that being enslaved by the Kromon changed the man that drastically, but still...)
Faith Stealer -  3.5/5 : Ah! Finally we learn a bit more about C'rizz and we address what the hell happened in the Creed of the Kromon. Although, did he just get brainwashed into getting rid of his guilt, just like that? Because if that's the case, I'm gonna be very disappointed. I mean, I don't want him to suffer or anything but it all seemed a bit easy. Also, yeah, poor C'rizz, easily manipulated and preyed on by pretty much anyone is this freaking universe - can anyone give him a break for a second please? (also, is strangling Charley going to be a recurring thing or what? Because that is NOT ok, writers, no matter how much Charley jokes about it afterwards). Anyway, the plot was ok, the multihaven (or whatever the name of this place was, I don't remember) is an interesting concept (even more relevant today) and I really liked the idea that it's completely ok for anyone to worship literally anything without judgement.
The Last - 3/5 : Excelsior used a nuclear weapon to end a never-ending war and killed most of her people in the process? Excuse me? The unpredicted parallel with the Doctor and the Time War is up the roof people. And so I can't help thinking that this story would have been much better in a shorter version with a post Time War Doctor (can you see this with Nine, Rose and Jack? Because I definitely can and I'm not ok). Anyway. Charley doesn't get strangled this time but choked with a pillow. I don't know, do the writers have a kink about strangling/choking/killing women? And her death was the least credible possible with the Doctor moving on from it like twenty seconds after and absolutely not going into huge drama/self pity/extreme guilt mode, so you know she won't stay dead very long. I liked C'rizz very much here, he's actually growing on me much more than Charley. I like his loyalty and the fact that he has a much darker side, when it's actually well exploited.
Caerdroia - 5/5 : gfvbvgttybvgf THREE EIGHTS THREE EIGHTS T H R E E  E I G H T S it's more than I can take. Hmm. So, i love the first part where the Doctor takes a nap (he deserves it) and sass the Kro'ka into telling him where the TARDIS is. I love him. Then we gets three versions of Eight and that's when I completely lost it. I also quite liked the crazy vibe of this episode, which felt a bit like Alice in Wonderland (again). The labyrinth part (or is it a maze??) was quite well done and the fact that it feeds off the Doctor, Charley and C'rizz subconscious was a nice to get to know them a bit more (especially C'rizz, whose annoyance with Tigger!Eight was very relatable). Charley and Eeyore!Eight was also priceless to be honest. And finally, finally, we get the TARDIS back and yeeeah! Also the Kro'ka is a frog vbyvegbvfy I can't
The Next Life - 2/5 : Excuse me but did this thing need to be that sexist? I mean... even Eight was a bit borderline a couple of times. I hated Charley in this episode, I hated how quick she was to judge C'rizz and how jealous she is throughout this audio when she's never really struck me as being jealous, especially not of C'rizz of all people. And it's a shame, really, because I was starting to think that maybe, she was getting less annoying. And most of all I HATED how her interactions with Perfection were depicted, how they bicker about the Doctor and, like, I get that it makes sense with Perfection being Zagreus and all, but it was very poorly brought, and ... just no. Also Perfection's relationship with Kip ... brrrr. Again, no. The plot in itself was not particularly memorable. It ends the Divergent Universe arc properly, the idea of this universe being in a constant cycle was kinda interesting and made sense with everything we had learnt so far so that's that. It was also nice to get to know more about C'rizz and I really like him more than Charley, and I hope he'll have a proper chance to find out who he is now. I'm definitely disappointed with this audio, it was way too long and problematic. (Just kudos for the Grace reference ... and it's made me miss Grace so I might rewatch the movie as a treat)
Overall opinion : Well I’m glad this is over. The Divergent Universe was an interesting concept but the quality of the episodes overall wasn’t very good and the way women are treated/depicted here is just a big NO. Big kudos for Caerdroia which was a nice surprise. The Natural History of Fear and Faith Stealer are good too, not as much though, and the rest, I’ll probably forget very soon, just like I did the first time. The only good thing to come out of this is my boy C’rizz

ok, I’ve finished watching it so here it goes:
Bridgerton final impressions
SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT
Daphne: I love her!!!!!!!!! I loved her on the book and I loved her on the show. My only complain is..... The Scene........ The way they changed it up made it so they could’ve easily swapped The Scene for a confrontation. I guess they didn’t want Simon to be the only asshole of the two but then they never addressed how Daphne was wrong too??? They just use the Whistledown voice-over to basically say “oh she’s desperate so it’s understandable” and then kinda shift all the blame onto Violet - and, don’t get me wrong, her sex talk is shit and she should know it, but what Daphne did was already after Rose really explained her how sex really works, so ignorance isn’t really an excuse....
Simon: I love him!!!!!!!!! I loved him on the book and I loved him on the show. My only complain is how they handled his daddy issues arc’s resolution. Like, Daphne just tells him he doesn’t need to be perfect to be loved and! Just like that! He is cured! Childhood trauma? I don’t know her! They don’t even address the real problem, which is Simon going from living to please his father to living to spite his (dead) father, and the book just handled it SO WELL, I really don’t understand why they changed it in the show.
I hope Simon and Daphne don’t get brushed off to the side now that their book’s story is over. Simon and Anthony’s friendship still needs a little patching up; there’s the Will and Alice storyline that, if they choose to continue, Simon will likely be involved in; and Daphne is pregnant during Anthony’s book, so they can do something about that too, and maybe about her helping out Eloise during her first season... I know they won’t be the focus of the story ever again, but I just hope they keep showing up like ABC and E did on this season, and aren’t just mentioned to be doing their own thing off-screen like Francesca was.
Anthony: .......................................................Sigh. I don’t know who that incompetent, irresponsible, lovesick idiot is, but it’s sure as hell not Anthony. They literally took everything about his character, cut into pieces, made a nonsensical collage and called it characterisation. The real Anthony has an incredibly strong sense of duty and responsibility to both his title and his family, because he feels he has to do it as good as his father would - which, in his head, is perfection. He doesn’t skip and/or arrives late to important events because he’s fooling around with his mistress, and he wouldn’t just wave away his responsibilities to his brothers - especially because they are also his responsibility. The real Anthony cares deeply about the happiness of his siblings, and does everything to secure them the Happily Ever After he himself doesn’t believe he’ll ever have. He would never force one of them to marry someone they clearly despise, especially with no serious reason. The real Anthony was a rake who jumped from bed to bed without letting himself create real attachments, because he deeply believes he’s going to die young and can’t bring himself to make someone go through the same pain his mother did when his father died. He simply wouldn’t remain seeing a woman if he thought he was developing feelings for her - and that only changed when he was forced to marry Kate - and he definitely wouldn’t ask someone to run away with him when he’s finally free of society, jesus fucking christ what the hell even was that?????? And so they - knowing he was going to be next season’s protagonist, mind you  - took all of the characteristics Anthony developed in the 10 years since his father’s death, largely because of Edmond - both in how he raised him and in how his death traumatised him - and said “hey, what if we make all of this happen in like 3 months, and be all about that opera singer he kissed once in the book!”
Violet: I love her, but I feel like they sacrificed a lot of Anthony’s character for her sake......... The Nigel thing is a great example of that: The way she solved it was amazing, but for that to happen they had to make Anthony cause the problem in the first place, which was so ooc it physically hurt. And the way she’s constantly reminding him of how much he sucks as a Viscount, and even straight up saying that his father would’ve been much better was icky tbh
Eloise: Loved how they explored her relationships with Daphne and Benedict - and the queen thing was funny - but that’s about it. She’s so incredibly entitled holy fuck. Combine the fresh-faced feminist who just learned the buzzwords and now thinks sexism is the single biggest plague to ever walk this earth with the spoiled rich girl who wants the entire world to bend to her whims and refuses to do anything she doesn’t want, and that’s how you get show!Eloise. But, tbh, I don’t really mind. She’s a teenager, that’s just how teenagers are. We didn’t really see that much of her before the time jump in the books, she has a long way to go until her story takes center place, and I’m perfectly ok with us watching how she becomes the woman we see in TSPWL. Basically, not that big of a fan of her characterisation, but she is in a spot where she can spend some time turning into the woman from her book - unlike Anthony :)). My big issue is actually how her going from vehemently anti-marriage as a teenager to happily married and with a bunch of kids as an adult is going to feed such a tired trope...
Penelope: I love her, obviously, but oh boy is she fucked. I agree very much with this post re: what she did to Marina. I guess, because LW was initially just a writing device to allow for exposition, the show is gonna go WAY deeper into how the things that happen to Penelope (and her being a teenager) affect what she writes, and into the consequences of doing what she’s doing, but honestly? They might have overplayed it...... I really don’t see how in the fuck they’re gonna make the ending of RMB work in the show’s universe - and I already thought the books glossed over the consequences way too much. So, uh. Good luck I guess.
(Also, I wonder what they’re gonna do about that heir cliffhanger. I just assumed Penelope was gonna do what she does in the books and find a way to give part of the Whistledown money to her mother. Gotta admit it never occurred to me that, with all the Featherington children being women and their father being dead, the title and what comes with it technically belonged to a uncle or cousin or something)
Marina: I fucking hate them for making me get attached to her knowing what’s gonna happen. This poor girl, jesus christ. And, ok, a lot of times she seemed rude and ungrateful but 1. Her situation was fucking terrifying and 2. She was suddenly thrown into this world of pampered, superficial, and naive girls, and that can test anyone’s patience. Also, yeah, the whole manipulating Colin thing was not cool, but, again, it was either that, an elderly likely-abusive husband, or a life of shame on the margins of society, so uhhh.
(Also, that scene when she said she would love for her, Penelope and Eloise to be sisters........ And I thought Eloise becoming Oliver and Amanda’s mother couldn’t hit me any harder......... Imagine an AU where George survived and he and Marina get married and Eloise marries Philip and Penelope marries Colin and they’re all sisters-in-law to each other and I cry my eyes out)
Colin: Gotta be honest with ya, chief... I don’t think he passes the sexy lamp test. Missed his and Daphne’s special relationship, missed his love of food, missed his sense of humour... At least he and Penelope were cute. I’m actually already shipping them more in the show than in the books.
Benedict: I think they’re trying to mirror him being in a relationship with a woman of no status (now Genevieve, then Sophie) with being gay and hmm. Really not sure about it. He does seem bicurious to me but I think they’re hesitant to give him an arc focused on exploring his sexuality when we know his love story is gonna be with a woman (but then again, they weren’t afraid of giving Anthony an arc about having a relationship with a woman of no status when we know his love story is gonna be with a perfectly respectable one, so *shrugs*). Once again, very glad they decided to make him and Eloise so close from the get-go. It’s going to make that scene on TSPWL where Benophie’s son gets sick so much more meaningful and painful, I can’t wait.
Siena and Genevieve: They’re both amazing women with an incredible friendship. Benedict and Genevieve have the relationship I was hoping Anthony and Siena would have, from the trailers.
Francesca: Glorified cameo. Disappointing. I know she doesn’t show up much in the books other than her own, but that should just have been seen as an opportunity to do whatever they wanted with her! Not make her disappear for 6/8 episodes! Hope they show more of her on the next season.
Gregory and Hyacinth: They’re baby. The scene where Gregory makes both Anthony and Simon fall on the water should’ve been there. Loved Hyacinth acting like she’s Simon’s BFF. Loved that they cut Hyacinth’s “wait for me” scene bc it reminded me too much of my annoying little cousin and made me not like her for the longest time.
Lady Danbury: 10/10. Please hit me with your cane. Am currently entertaining the idea of having her and Violet get together.
Barry B. Benson: A cold-blooded murderer
Overall: This didn’t fit into any character, but oh god........... the lack of chemises............ But  I loved the show, even if some things annoyed me,  and I can’t wait for season 2 AND MY GIRL KATE!!!!!!!!!!!!

"This is the Story of a little girl named Alice.
Alice used to work for a big Institute dedicated to researching the esoteric and paranormal, where she was the head archivist. Alice's job was simple, most of the time she just sat at her desk and recorded statements. Since a lot of the recordings tended to mess up with the Institute's newer technology, she had to re-record them on an old tape player in her office.
When she needed help or further research on a statement, Alice would call one of her archival assistants Bradley or Stellan in, or place the task on the new archivist-in-training Jonathan. Alice worked hard and she worked well. And she was happy in her routine.
And then one day, something very peculiar happened.
Something that would forever change Alice.
Something she could never quite forget, even if she wanted to.
One day, a door that had previously led into the hallways of the Institute, led into an Office building, one she was sure had never been connected to her place of employment before. In fact, she found it wasn’t even anywhere near London, or in any place she could register as Earth.
The windows showed nothing but blank white and the doors only led into other hallways, never out into the open.
Something had gone very clearly wrong.
Shocked and terrified, Alice found herself unable to believe this turn of events for the longest time.
But as she was forced to come back to her wits, she decided to get up and explore this new place. Perhaps one of these doors will lead her back home.
...
Alas, they never did. Even as Alice made strange new friends who knew more about the Office than she did, even as she stumbled upon her very own self, proud and vicious on her throne of delusions, she came no closer to coming home.
A dimension here, a dimension there. Poor, confused Alice trying to reason her way through the mess. This odd fellow must be a Stranger, yet this one could only be the avatar of the Hunt. What lessons could Maelle be trying to teach her here? How will this further Alice's own powers, her powers of seeing, of Beholding.
She was doomed from the start, I'm afraid. Her assistants had no idea where she was and while Maelle was fully aware of her desperate wanderings, even she would not extend her hand out to save her little Archivist.
After all, she had another one, another one who was far less bright and more curious than Alice. One whose strings could be pulled in any direction without even a hint of suspicion arising.
No, Alice, I'm afraid your time has come. You were a decent Archivist, dedicated to your job, but too much so that you would rather cloud your sight with work, rather than experience it first hand. What good is an Archivist that has lost its sense of curiosity?
Yet you have enough curiosity to finish your story. There, with that Mariella by your side, the strange woman who always seems to know where she is going, the one who befriends the odd entities of this place without a second thought, you wander the hallways hoping her intuition will lead you somewhere new.
You did ask her several times if she can find her way to the Institute, but you fail to understand that Mariella can be just as easily manipulated as you have been.
She could find the way to the Institute without struggle, yet we will make sure she won't. And anyway, it is too late for you to return now.
You wander down into the dusty Mind Control Facility - such irony doesn't come around often - and marvel at the sea of spider webs, overtaking the abandoned arena in waves of silver. Mariella stays at the doorway, a mixture of awe and disgust on her face.
Fortunately for her, she is not an arachnophobe. She tries to keep it out of her hair. Unfortunately for you, you wander in deeper, statements running through your mind as everything clicks into place. Why you are here, how you got to be in this very Office at this very time. How the Web had played with you just as I have been playing with you from the very start.
You open your mouth to voice your revelations to Mariella, but falter as you feel a tickle on your arm. Your hand has carelessly brushed into one of the webs and caught the attention of a spider, black and plump, darting its way up your shoulder.
Screaming just gives them more places to crawl into. Mariella watches in horror, but she has just enough sense left not to run in after you. She runs off, to go get help. But the perfectly placed door leads her far, far away from you and it shuts after her, never to open again.
Just like the previous Archivist, you have disappeared without a trace. I am sure his fate was a lot less gruesome than yours, Alice. But there are worse ways to die. I think you don't need me telling you that."
*Click*
Maelle opens her eyes again and takes out the tape from its recorder.
She studies it for a moment, an ironic smile playing at the corners of her mouth. For a moment, she considers leaving it for the spiders to take away, for when whatever remains of Alice inevitably returns to the Institute, she will be fully briefed on Maelle's betrayal.
But she doesn’t want to risk it getting into the wrong hands at the wrong time, so she locks it away in a little safe where she keeps other such tapes and several checks sent from the Lucas', in case the Institute needs more funding.
She sits back at her desk and coms the receptionist, asking for the archival assistants in her office. They come quickly. Bradley has ink doodles all over his hands which he tries to hide sheepishly, Stellan doesn’t even bother putting down his coffee cup and Jonathan got too flustered figuring out where to put the statements he was filing down, so he took them along anyway.
They all stand before her, quiet but eyes hopeful. Any news from Alice? Has she been found yet? Does that mean news for them too?
The last few months have been difficult, Maelle made sure. Tensions were high, work had been unfairly distributed and they were all tired, tired of waiting, tired of guessing and ready to move on. Just let things get back to normal.
She eyes them wordlessly for a moment longer, taking on the facade of a tired boss who is figuring out how to deliver bad news. Then she shows them an envelope.
A resignation letter, signed in Alice's favorite pen. A copy of employment proof and a picture. Alice looks happy next to her wife, an american beauty, blonde and blue-eyed like the sky behind them.
Simple cover stories are often better than the dramatic ones. She found somewhere better to be and ditched her old life. It happens. If anyone would travel across the world leaving behind everything for a pretty face, it would be Alice after all.
There are sounds of disgust, resignation and relief, from Bradley, Stellan and Jon respectively. The tensions of the past months bubble over and Maelle lets them rage about being abandoned without so much as a goodbye.
They have no reason to worry about Alice or even seek out any contact, as her disappearance seemed proof enough she had all but forgotten about their existence.
When Maelle announces Jonathan as the new head archivist, followed by the generous offer to give them the rest of the day off after they finished their respective projects to reflect and celebrate, no one interjects.
Jonathan spends the rest of the day being congratulated from all sides, egged on by Bradley and Stellan to join them for a mandatory promotion drink. As they celebrate their new Archivist and the return to normalcy, no one spares a moment of pity towards the old head archivist of the Magnus Institute, now lifeless in a bed of cobwebs.

Is Alice Jones Autistic?
Tumblr media
I’m not entirely sure where the autistic!alice headcanon originated. It might have been from an Autistic Headcanons blog or it might just be from the observations of individuals.
I can’t speak for everyone because my main reason for believing she’s autistic is that I’m autistic and I relate to a lot of her traits. Now, some of those traits could be explained by her being forced to grow up in isolation or even by a mental illness (I do see her as having co-morbid mental illness(es)) and some of these traits are headcanons themselves, so it really just depends on how you see her.
I’ll list some of the things that lead me to believe she’s autistic and not all of these apply to every autistic person:
Has a possible special interest in painting/drawing, chess and maybe even parkour. Take for example in 7x13 when she needs to play chess to help her relax. She likely wanted to play chess a lot more than Rogers could keep up with and I bet she talks about it and art a lot.
She can talk in a very abstract way. It’s a way that makes sense to her but not necessarily to anyone else and I don’t just mean when she’s talking about the curse. It’s the way she talks about the curse: “See something? I see everything. Now I’m ten feet tall!” “There’s still time before the pills make me small again.” (I know it’s an Alice in Wonderland reference but say, in her cursed memories someone read the book to her, this could be echolalia). And I’d be willing to wager she makes up her own words.
She thinks outside the box. Like myself, she seems to have trouble thinking inside the box and doesn’t so easily conform to societal norms: “What’s the point of a solvable one (puzzle)” and she made a heart-shaped beignets that was literally heart-shaped. She also seems to have difficulty telling that some things are wrong (not that all autistics do this, but it can be an issue): “Weaver said it was for the best, and I can’t always figure that out for myself.”
Her father brings her things that could be seen as sensory aids (I know this was to help her experience the outside world but it’s an additional way of looking at it.)
Doesn’t have a great sense of danger. I know she’s got some mad skills, but still she doesn’t hesitate to jump out of the window of a goodness how many stories-high building. She’ll happily fight a jabberwocky, befriend a troll (that, at the time, she didn’t know was of her own creation) and defend said troll in front of angry dudes with weapons and she rolled out of a freaking moving car. She also walked across the road without looking in 7x14 (#relatable). That incident could have even been chalked down to her not being a good judge of distance or to her being over-stimulated by the traffic. When you get overstimulated your whole sense of exactly where everything is around you just goes out the window. It’s probably not the only time that’s happened. God knows how much trouble she got herself into in Wonderland and the other places.
Has a connection to creatures and and an attachment to objects like Mr. Rabbit and she even slept next to the viles of sand her father got her. It’s understandable that she would be attached to the inanimate objects that were her only company for years, whether she’s autistic or not. She seems to relate more to creatures, such as the troll and maybe even some creatures in wonderland (goodness knows if she was out-running the bandersnatch for fun or what).
Doesn’t like to sit still for long. Sometimes seen stimming with things in her hands.
Seems to be fairly selective with what she eats. Eating the same thing everyday is not an uncommon autistic trait (I literally have beans for breakfast, lunch and dinner) and it seems that marmalade sandwhiches are the thing for Tilly. It could be a sensory issue. She seems to have a preference for sweet food as salty food might be too strong for her or it could just be because we love routine. It brings a sense of much needed security in an otherwise over-stimulating world.
Likes routine. I’m sure her father liked to make sure they had a routine in the tower but as Tilly she seems to have her routine of going to the troll, playing chess with Rogers, talking to Weaver and eating marmalade sandwhiches. She doesn’t seem to be completely averse to spontaneity however, since she was willing to go to Wonderland and other places but then and again, she was desperate to find a cure.
Is more vulnerable to manipulation. Listen, I love Alice & Rumple’s frienship as much as the next guy but you can’t deny that he was manipulating her at first in 7x18. It seems she doesn’t have a brilliant sense for figuring out the intentions of others. The same goes for when Weaver tricked her into eating the pill-sandwhich.
Has what can be seen as autistic meltdowns. This is a difficult one to assess because her sometimes erratic behaviour is likely due to a mental illness but there are many co-morbid conditions that can come with autism. But if we are to look at her outbursts as meltdowns, then we can see that they are triggered by things not goin the way Alice expected. If an autistic person has pre-planned their day then any disruption to that can cause a meltdown or shutdown i.e. Rogers saying no to the game of chess, Rogers and Weaver not listening to her pleas for them not to talk to Eloise coming as a shock, Weaver giving her her meds and not remembering his life in the EF and the incident at the hospital. Nothing was going as Tilly expected and there was no way for her to fix it. She tried to calm herself down by pacing or swaying slightly from side-to-side. It could have all been further exacerbated by the bright lights and in some cases loud noises of the traffic/the hospital lights/the light in her shipping container. Her outbursts were completely out of her control. I’m sure she would have never pointed a scalple at Rogers and Weaver if she weren’t in that state. The fact that she didn’t remember how she got to the hospital could be because of her meltdown, often after or during one you don’t know what’s going on, what you’re doing or why your doing it. This could also explain why she loses time like she explains in 7x14. This could also be partly down to the fact that she might have poor short-term memory which is common in autistic people.
Could the fact that the curse couldn’t completely erase her memories be due to her having a very strong, photographic long-term memory? Just a theory!
Seems to prefer to socialise in small groups (this could be due to circumstance).
Is seen as ‘weird’, ‘eccentric’ or ‘odd’ by others who don’t understand her way of engaging with the world.
Sometimes repeats phrases “Something’s bad, something’s broken, something’s wrong.”
Has difficulty with conflicts, arguments and being yelled at.
Sees the world in a special way according to her father so it’s likely she’s not like other people he’s been around.
Is okay being around other people but may 'play’ on her own e.g. when she was in Rogers’ car with the mushrooms. She was content to be around him while doing her own thing.
In some situations she may be masking e.g. at first with Margot, so that she could pass for allistic.
Can sometimes get her words confused: “You know me better than anyone. I can't have done it, could I? Or I could've done it, can't I?”
Difficulties communicating her thoughts and feelings, in words, to others, especially if anxious, stressed or upset, hense part of the reason she ends up having an meltdown.
I personally think she’s undersensitive to movement and touch so she might have issues with personal space and it could be why she isn’t often still and moves around alot.
May have issues with executive funtion e.g. time management, orgazisational skills, inhibitions, working memory and problem solving which she may have been helped with by Rogers once she moved in. It makes your mind a freaking jumble so I wouldn’t be suprised if she has issues with this.
Seems to have some trouble in social situations. This could be due to all those years in isolation but there are definitely times where she will just speak her mind or do things that might be seen as socially inappropriate e.g. the situation with the troll, her just popping up in Victoria’s car and scaring the shiitake musrooms out of her. She sometimes seems a bit confused by what other people are saying e.g. the whole “Targot” thing and others seem confused by her.
I could honestly go on about this for days. Like, there’s so much more I could talk about. I might make another post expanding on this, but this is just my perspective! As I say, a lot of this could be down to her years alone in the tower or a mental illness but this is just one way of looking at her traits!

Welcome to the Order of the Phoenix, Kate!
You have been accepted for the role of MARY MACDONALD, with the faceclaim change of Claire Holt! We really enjoyed the subtleties you brought into Mary’s character - she’s not just manipulative, she’s not just aggressive... but she’s not just nice or just willing to help, either. She understands her place in this world and what being a Muggleborn means and will do anything to survive. We loved her! We are so excited to have you as part of this roleplay!
Please take a look at the new member checklist and send in your account within 24 hours! Thank you for joining the fight against Voldemort!
OUT OF CHARACTER:
NAME: Kate
AGE: 25
TIMEZONE: EST
ACTIVITY LEVEL: I recently quit my full time job because of health stuff and am stuck at home because of the coronavirus so I’m very much available. I’ll be able to be active most days.
ANYTHING ELSE: I’ve roleplayed for many years, but I’ve been away from that for the last two years because my job and personal life had me so busy. A lot of things in my life recently changed and I’m happy to be coming back to this and improving my writing again.
CHARACTER DETAILS:
NAME: Mary MacDonald
AGE: 20
GENDER, PRONOUNS, and SEXUALITY: female, she/her, straight
BLOOD STATUS: muggleborn
HOUSE ALUMNI: gryffindor
ANY CHANGES: [pending FC change]
CHARACTER BACKGROUND:
PERSONALITY:
Mary has always been good at hiding in the background. She’s used to being overlooked, and during her time at Hogwarts, she learned how to use that to her advantage instead of mope around about it. She never committed to one group of friends, instead finding herself on the edge of them all, just enough in to benefit herself but not enough to build meaningful relationships. She was good at school and devoted herself to perfecting her magic, especially when she realized it was the only weapon that would help her to protect herself in this prejudiced world. She’s good at observing and reading others, and she uses that skill to the best of her advantage. Some of her key traits are as follows:
+ resourceful – Mary has never had trouble solving problems and often gets her way, no matter what it takes. She grew up with little resources and lots to care for, and it made her stronger because of it. She can get a lot done with little spent on it, and that has made her a valuable asset to the Order, just as she knew it would.
+ determined – Mary doesn’t give up on things that matter to her – and right now, the only thing that matters to her is winning this war. If she believes in a mission, she’ll give her all, even if that means risking her life. Even if she doesn’t believe in a mission, she does believe in the Order, so she’s trying to learn how to fall in line, although that’s not always easy for her. One thing is for sure, though – she will never be the one to compromise a mission.
+ independent & unattached – Mary doesn’t need anything from anyone, and she’s proud of that fact. The only person she would give everything for is her brother, and since he’s safely tucked away outside of this world, she only has to worry about taking care of herself. Of course she wouldn’t dare risk the lives of anyone else in the Order, but that doesn’t mean that she would put their lives above her own either.
+ convincing – Mary has a way of knowing what makes other tick and using it against them to plant ideas in their heads in such a way that might bring their thinking more in line with her own. She has learned how to manipulate others in a way that she thinks is unassuming, but she’s careful not to do it with those she senses distrust her. She’s not an idiot, after all.
+ unyielding – Outwardly, Mary tries to play her cards close to her chest, but inwardly, she doesn’t easily change her mind about things. She thinks that her way is the right way, and even when she may seem to be persuaded by someone else, she holds on to her convictions and will ultimately follow those instead of the group’s consensus.
+ self-serving – Mary is loyal to the Order, but only to the extent that it benefits her. She knows that this is her only chance to fight in a way that actually means something in this war, so she’ll play by the rules, but that doesn’t mean that she’s not afraid to break the rules if it will serve her in some meaningful way. She’s smart about how she does it, though, because she isn’t about to risk her place in the Order by being impulsive and reckless like Dorcas has proved herself to be.
BRIEF OVERVIEW OF FAMILY:
Mary’s family history has always been a bit of a sore subject for her. She always felt overlooked by her parents, even though they loved her, and grew to resent the responsibility placed on her and Adam even from a young age. She loved David and Lilah, of course, but she wasn’t supposed to be their mother. She knew that her parents loved her, loved them all, even loved each other, but she privately thought that they had gotten married too early without ever really thinking about whether they were really compatible or ready to become parents. Living in a small town in Cornwall and running the local pub, her parents had to work long hours in order to support the amount of children they had in such a short time, and while they never went without, they never had an abundance either. The only person in that house that really seemed to see or understand her was Adam – though they weren’t technically twins (just irish twins born 10 months apart), they might as well have been with how close they always were. Adam was the only person who noticed when signs of Mary’s magic began to happen, and instead of being frightened or repulsed by them, he was excited and supportive. When the family discovered that Mary was a witch, Adam declared that he always knew Mary was the special one in the family. Mary’s relationship with the rest of the family became strained as the years went on and she disengaged from the muggle world more and more, but Adam continued to regularly send her letters and is still the only person that Mary feels any sort of closeness to. Now that she’s out of school and fully committed to fighting in a war, she keeps her distance from her family, claiming that she’s gotten a job abroad. Only Adam knows the truth – that she is fighting a war their family can know nothing about and living in the heart of London. While her place of residence is prone to changing, she keeps a PO box in order to continue sending letters to Adam, who is now married with a little girl who has begun to show signs of magic.
OCCUPATION:
Mary has never had a ton of ambition when it comes to careers, not since she discovered that being a muggleborn meant inheriting a prime place in this war. So when the option to become a barkeep at the Three Broomsticks came around, Mary jumped on it. She knew that enough firewhiskey could make anyone’s lips loosen, and her position offers her a prime opportunity to find out information that could be valuable to the Order.
ROLE WITHIN THE ORDER/THOUGHTS ABOUT THE ORDER:
Mary is still somewhat surprised to have been invited into the inner circle, especially when it seems that most of them don’t react well to her suggestions. She is glad to be a part of the group that should be making decisions, but she’s often frustrated that they don’t make enough decisions. The only person who seems to be on the same level as her in the circle is Edgar Bones, and Mary is intrigued by what he really thinks in their meetings. Mary is never quick to build meaningful relationships, so her entire life is fighting this war as a member of the Order, and she’s finding herself becoming more and more disenchanted with the fact that half of the group doesn’t seem to want to take any action.
SURVIVAL:
Through her years in school, Mary pulled further and further from the Muggle world, but now that the Order seems to be losing ground in the war efforts, she’s been finding herself venturing back in order to stay safe. She’s only one of two muggleborns in the Order, and instead of using that trait to try and be the savior for others like Lily, Mary uses it to save her own skin. She flits in and out of the muggle world, living like one when she needs to keep a low profile, but never running away to hide in it. She has a flat in the middle of a poor Muggle neighborhood, and she’s not attached to any belongings so that she can move quickly when necessary, as she already has a couple of times.
RELATIONSHIPS:
+ Lily Evans – Lily and Mary were never overly close in their time at Hogwarts, but being the two muggleborns in their dorm did give them an ability to understand one another better than the rest, especially in their younger years. But Mary could never get over the fact that Lily could stand being friends with Severus Snape, especially when he so obviously looked down on every other muggleborn, and Mary has never been one to hide her opinions, so that drove a wedge in their relationship. Their relationship is even further growing apart in the war effort with how little Lily seems to actually care about fighting this war and how drawn she seems to be to helping others run away. Running away won’t help muggleborns prove that they have a place in this world, and she can’t stand that Lily can’t seem to see that.
+ Edgar Bones – Edgar is the only member of the inner circle that Mary really thinks sees eye to eye with her. He isn’t nearly as vocal as she would like him to be (or as she is) with how they should be fighting this war, but she is beginning to believe that he’s more aligned with her than he is with the rest of them. She wants to get to know him more and hopefully team up with him to get some more action out of the rest of the inner circle.
+ Alice Longbottom – When Mary first joined the inner circle, she almost idolized Alice, clinging to the only other woman that was trusted enough to be a part of the group. But lately, she wonders if Alice isn’t becoming more and more lackluster about the fight, and she’s getting the sense that Alice isn’t too keen about her contributions to the discussion, either.
+ Inner Circle – Mary was excited to be a part of the Inner Circle, but now she’s feeling easily frustrated with most of them. The others don’t seem to see that they need to fight fire with fire in order to make any difference in this war, and she doesn’t trust the other members any more than they seem to trust her. She’s learning how to keep her thoughts to herself in a way that she didn’t know how to when she first joined the inner circle. After all, now that she has this position, she’s not going to throw it away.
+ Dorcas, Emma, & Benjy – They are the only members of the Order that Mary has any sort of respect for. They’re doing things the way she thinks everyone should be, though of course she thinks that they should be a little smarter and more strategic about how they do it. The stunt they pulled at the Atrium was well-intentioned and on the right track, but if they had thought it out a little more or brought it to the inner circle instead of going rogue, it might have had some better consequences.
+ Sirius Black – Mary’s never really liked Sirius Black, and she distrusts his place in the Order. She’s not sure he really cares that much about the cause, and thinks that he just as easily could have gone to the other side if it weren’t for James Potter. She’s not so sure he’s not the spy, but she would never be stupid enough to bring that suspicion up to the inner circle with James there.
+ Branwen Yaxley – Mary has noticed that Branwen has been showing more interest and affection towards her lately, and she’s not afraid to use that to her advantage. She doesn’t trust Branwen and isn’t sure she’s really devoted to the cause like she is, but she can’t deny that Branwen isn’t one to shy away from a fight, so Mary doesn’t mind standing side to side with her in a battle. Mary’s not looking for friends, especially not pureblood friends, but she doesn’t mind seeing Branwen as a worthy ally.
+ Fabian Prewett – Mary has a fondness for Fabian and his longstanding membership in the Order, and there’s no doubt that he makes her laugh. She appreciates personalities like his because it makes it easier for her to fade into the background unseen, and she uses that to her advantage in Order meetings. She also notices that he’s more open to her thoughts and ideas than many in the Order, but she’s frustrated often by his lack of action. What is it that’s keeping him from being more active in this fight?
+ Severus Snape – there’s no doubt that in their time at Hogwarts Mary couldn’t stand Severus and his obvious love of anything related to the Dark Arts. She knew he would be a Death Eater the moment they left school, and she wasn’t surprised to discover that was the truth. She was surprised, however, by his defection, and though she didn’t want to trust him, she has to admit that he has won her over. She’s still not sure she likes him, but now that he’s giving them useful information and risking his life to do so, she does have some more respect for him.
OOC EXPLORATION:
SHIPS/ANTI-SHIPS:
I’m open to pretty much anything! It would be very interesting to see what Mary falling in love would look like, especially since she has really only one meaningful relationship in her life and it’s with her brother. I’m also interested to see what friendships might form in Mary’s life, particularly with those she might not see eye-to-eye with.
WHAT PRIVILEGES AND BIASES DOES YOUR CHARACTER HAVE?
Mary has a lot of biases – she has a difficult time trusting anyone who was raised pureblood; after all, they were brought up in the same society as those seeking her death, so are they really who they say they are? Even if they do seem to be devoted to the cause, she still views them as she viewed the tourists who would visit her parents’ pub growing up – many of them came to the seaside for a getaway from their privileged and posh lives and would easily look down on Mary’s parents and the rest of the locals. They would often refuse to sit at the bar and “slum it” with the locals and instead always chose the formal dining room, even if they were just in for a pint. Mary believes that even well-intentioned purebloods look down on her in that same way, and so she has a subtle distaste for being in their company. She also has a hard time with any muggleborn who isn’t as devoted to the fighting as she is – do they have any self respect? If they didn’t want to be a part of this world, why did they bother coming to Hogwarts. Now that they’re here, they need to fight for their place in this world just as much as she is.
WHAT ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO?
Oh my gosh, this roleplay looks amazing. There is so much depth to the characters and the plot and I can’t wait to dive in and grow as a writer because of it. I’m also so excited to play Mary – I don’t usually play a character like her that is so manipulative and unassuming yet at the same time volatile and somewhat dangerous. I can’t wait to see how she develops.
PLOT DROP IDEAS:
Wow, I have a lot of thoughts. Mary has a lot of ways to grow, and I think as she begins to interact in other relationships, that’s going to happen. One Mary-based plot that occurred to me was the possibility of what it would look like for her to have someone other than herself that is dependent on her – an option for this would be if anything happened to her brother, she would be the one needing to take care of her magical niece. I wonder how this might force some serious growth in her.
ANYTHING ELSE? Y’all are AWESOME I SO HOPE TO JOIN.

Once Upon A Time Rewatch: 6x18 Where Bluebirds Fly
Tumblr media
Whoop! Whoop! Zel Zel centric!
The yellow brick road! I wish the characters had an adventure in Oz so we’d get to explore it a bit more like we did Wonderland and Neverland.
Back off! Leave young Zel alone! Is magic not a common thing in Oz?
Aww this friendship is adorable. I kinda wish his name was Boq though to tie in with Wicked’s tin man, but they already included Boq.
It always makes me so sad seeing young Zelena. She was so sweet and her father is just the worst! She deserved so much better. She must have gotten her kindness from the little time she spent with her adoptive mothers, cause goodness knows her other three parents are evil. If she was raised by Cora to be Queen, I’m not sure she’d have had the heart to rule through fear like Cora no doubt would have wanted.
Get off baby Robin, you bitch!
No you can’t hold her a little longer.
The Black Fairy: “I never grow tired of that new baby smell.” She is so freaking creepy.
She’s manipulating you, Zelly!
To be fair Zelena was almost that level of creepy when it came to Snowing’s baby back in s3.
Lol. Poor Snow.
Okay. It is pretty adorable that Snow has been planning Emma’s wedding since after the first curse haha.
Help! Snow’s being super adorabubble!!
The fact that Zelena is probably Belle’s closest friend at this point lol. Poor Belle. I wish the others cared about her more but I do enjoy her dynamic with Zelena.
Zelena, don’t do it, girl!
Another entrance to the mines?
Other than Stanum (probably breifly) and briefly Glinda (the two-faced biatch) I don’t think Zelena has ever had any friends. She just had her horrible father growing up and that was it, no wonder she craved love so much. She’s always been alone and has known only hatred for something she can’t control (her magic).
Oh, so the Witch of the North is wicked too? Interesting. I wonder if she fell out with Glinda or Glinda turned on her too. I wanna know more about the Wicked Witch of the North! And heck, I wanna know what happened to the Witch of the East too!
Regina’s come to save sis!
God, these two fighting like children again lol.
Even though they’re fighting, Regina’s instinct is still to protect big sis from falling rock.
Getting married at Granny’s lol. But don’t they end up getting married on top of Granny’s or something?
David still not over Whale. Dude, you almost got Kathryn pregnant! You know what, it’s really messed up that they slept with others while cursed, even though they wouldn’t have if they weren’t under its influence.
I think that deep down, Zelena just wanted a mother again. We still don’t know when her adoptive mother died but I think Zelena was really young. She was the only person to show her love and since Zelena going back in time may not prevent her death, she is desperate to find that love again from her other mother. She will do anything to have that again and that’s why she’s often so desperate to prove herself, she thinks power is the only way to win Cora’s affections. It’s the only thing that will make her mother, the only person she believes can love her, show her the love she so desperately craves.
It’s the king of the forest!
Why is a Lion in a forest? Or tigers? I’m not even gonna ask.
Is Gideon more powerful than Regina? He knocked her down pretty easily.
The Black fairy playing hide and seek with the Wicked Witch of the West.
Go Zel Zel!
This scene is so cool!
The Black Fairy can deflect magic? Weird that Blue hasn’t been shown to do that. I guess they have different power sets.
There Regina goes again. She is getting flipped around so easily today lol.
Yes! Thank you! Zelena is stronger than Regina confirmed. I was afraid they were going back on what they’d established in s3. She’s supposed to be more powerful than Cora, according to Rumple, who I think is easily more powerful than Regina. I’m gonna do a magic ranking one day.
Magic is really affected by emotions. So because Zelena’s emotions are unstable, that makes her magic unstable? Interesting. I love it being connected to their emotions.
What’s she using Zelena’s magic to do?
That lion is huge!
Oh, she made it into a scaredy cat. I wonder if it can talk.
Don’t say that Regina. Zelena needs you. You need each other deep down. Just wait till s7, you’ll be besties then!
Even though Regina’s hypocrisy this season gets to me a lot, I’m glad that Regina and Zelena’s sisterhood was tested and they didn’t instantly become besties. It makes their friendship all the more real and worth the ride in s7.
Snow: “And if she wanted to get married in a bathroom it would be perfect and exactly what it’s supposed to be.” Oh my God lmao! That would have been the best!
Umm, how did the crystal summon a tornado portal?
I misremembered. I thought Stanum knew it would drain her magic but he seems like he’s telling the truth that he didn’t.
He’ll be alright. Dorothy will help him.
But what will she do with the crystals?
Zelena: “You’re all I’ve got, Regina.”
I actually want to cry. This was so brave of Zelena. You can tell how much the idea of destroying her magic breaks her. It is a part of her. She’s had it since the day she was born. Can you imagine ripping away something that is that ingrained in who you are and have always been? It makes me so upset but it was important for her development.
I wanna hug Zelena!
It looks painful. I imagine it would be ripping away a part of yourself like that.
Aww Regina is so proud of her sis and hugs her. I can’t!!
God I was so distraught when they took Zelena’s magic. You don’t understand. I think I still would be extremely distraught if she hadn’t gotten magic back in s7. The important thing was, much like Harry Potter meant to die when Voldemort struck him in the Deathly Hallows, Zelena meant for her magic to be gone forever and that is a bigger sacrifice for her than anyone will ever understand, akin to sacrificing her life. I wasn’t sure she ever would get it back but I wish Robin hadn’t given up her magic. It was very nice of her to do that for her mother, who’s magic was such an important part of her life but can you imagine mother and daughter and Alice and Robin kicking ass with their magic. In my head, Robin gets magic back a short time after the s7 finale.
Why oh why didn’t we get more of a Black Fairy and Blue Fairy interaction in Storybrooke? At least we get some in the flashbacks next week.
She really hates her.
I can’t remember why Rumple can’t know why his mother gave him up. Guess I’ll find out soon!
This was such a great and important episode for my girl, Zelena. So proud of her. What an emotional rollercoaster!
