GENRE / ⚠ gazillions of cursing, suggestive, angst, fluff, intimacy (atm, will update if ever) denial drama, down to memory lane, high school sweat heart saga that never ends, romantic reruns, humor that only ME can understand
Subject:
okay, I understand. Accidentally liking your mom's Facebook picture wth you in it from two years ago was just that—an accident.
It's not like I was stalking or anything. I've moved on from it, really.
Rewind back five years to when you and Jake were still together, the talk of the school as "the high school sweethearts." Can't you just imagine it?
Watching him play on the football team, then sneaking away, under the bleachers just to steal a kiss or two.
Both of your hands intertwined as you walked home to your mom's house, noses buried in research papers, determined to finish before she called out for dinner.
Huddling together in the library, books scattered around as you studied side by side. Or perhaps in the auditorium, practicing for the musical next Monday, sharing whispers and stolen glances between rehearsals.
But it all went downhill. You thought you'd stick together, didn't you?
High school seemed like a never-ending carousel of highs and lows, and for you and Jake, it was no different. As the seasons changed, so did your relationship.
The first cracks began to show during senior year, as the pressure of exams and college applications loomed over you both like a dark cloud. Suddenly, there were more arguments than stolen kisses, more tension than laughter.
You tried to hold on, clinging to the memories of those stolen moments in the bleachers and the library, but it felt like trying to grasp sand slipping through your fingers.
Then came the day when everything changed. A misunderstanding, a harsh word said in the heat of the moment, and suddenly you found yourselves on opposite sides of a gaping chasm.
"You just don't get it, do you?" Jake's voice was sharp, cutting through the tension like a knife. "I can't do this anymore."
"But Jake, please," you pleaded, your voice cracking with emotion. "We can work through this. We've been through so much together."
He shook his head, his expression pained. "I don't think we can. I need space, time to figure things out."
And with those words, he turned and walked away, leaving you standing there amidst the echoes of what once was.
The pain of that moment seared into your heart like a branding iron, leaving scars that would never fully heal.
And just like that, the chapter of high school sweethearts came to a bitter end, leaving you to pick up the pieces and wonder if you would ever find your way back to each other again.
You became a recluse, barely venturing out of your room during summer break. Your mother had to resort to tormenting you just to coax you into eating a decent meal. But even her persistent calls fell on deaf ears, as you found solace in the cocoon of solitude you had wrapped yourself in.
Yet, amidst the suffocating loneliness, there lingered a glimmer of hope, a flicker of possibility that refused to be extinguished. Maybe, just maybe, there was still a chance for reconciliation amidst the wreckage of what once was.
Fast forward to five years later, fate intervened one Sunday morning, casting its intricate web of serendipity. As you stepped into the office, your eyes met familiar ones, and for a moment, time seemed to stand still. There he was, Jake, refilling his cup of coffee to the brim, looking every bit as handsome as you remembered. And to your surprise, you discovered that he was one of your workmates.
He seemed different, transformed somehow by the passage of time and the trials of adulthood.
Gone was the carefree boy you once knew, replaced by a man who bore the weight of life's responsibilities on his shoulders. He honestly felt like a brand new person, a stranger wearing the guise of familiarity.
Yet, as you engaged in conversation with him, the years melted away, and it felt as though no time had passed at all. The words flowed effortlessly between you, catching up on lost time as you shared stories of your lives post-high school. It was like slipping into an old pair of shoes, comfortable yet tinged with nostalgia, each memory a thread connecting you to the past.
Days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months.
You found yourself falling into a routine, working alongside Jake like old times. It felt like you were falling with him again. It just felt what you felt back then.
what was it? so high school.
The butterflies in your stomach returned, fluttering madly every time Jake offered to help with paperwork late into the night. It was a scene straight out of your teenage years, reminiscent of those late-night study sessions at home, with Jake by your side.
Lets not forget that one day, as you were packing up to leave, the atmosphere silent, someone tapped your shoulder lightly.
It was Jake, who hesitated before speaking.
"Y/N, there's something I need to tell you," Jake's voice pierced through the air, sending your heart into a frenzy of anticipation.
"What is it?" you replied, your voice barely above a whisper, betraying the storm of emotions raging inside you.
He took a deep breath, his gaze flickering with uncertainty as he locked eyes with you. Your heart raced, each second feeling like an eternity as you waited for him to speak, the weight of his words hanging heavy in the air between you.
"I'm engaged,"
he finally confessed, his words hanging heavy in the air as he plastered a smile on his face.
Your world tilted on its axis, the revelation hitting you like a sucker punch to the gut. Engaged? The word echoed in your mind, shattering the fragile illusion you had built around your reunion with Jake.
"Oh," was all you could manage to say, a forced smile plastered on your face. "Congratulations, Jake. I'm happy for you."
Jake seemed oblivious to your inner turmoil, a wide grin spreading across his face. "Thanks, Y/N. I'm really glad you're taking it well."
Taking it well. The words echoed in your mind, a stark reminder of the facade you were forced to maintain. Inside, you were crumbling, the weight of unspoken emotions threatening to consume you whole.
And then, as if nothing had changed, Jake leaned in closer, his voice low and conspiratorial. "I was actually hoping you could help me out in surprising my fiancé? Her birthdays in a few days..."
Help him out. The words hung in the air, a bitter reminder of the boundaries that now separated you. You felt yourself retreat, your defenses rising like an impenetrable fortress.
"Sure, Jake," you replied, forcing a smile onto your lips. "I'd be happy to help however I can."
But as you watched him walk away, the echoes of his footsteps fading into the distance, you couldn't shake the feeling of being friendzoned, relegated to the role of a supportive confidante while he embarked on a new chapter of his life without you. And in that moment, amidst the wreckage of what once was, you couldn't help but wonder if some wounds were meant to stay open, a constant reminder of the love that was never meant to be.
Inside, the pain was like a knife twisting in your chest, a bitter reminder of what could have been but never was. And as you watched Jake walk away, his footsteps echoing in the empty office, you couldn't help but wonder if some wounds were meant to stay open, a testament to the love that once was but could never be again.
can healing be ever found?
in short: its a crossover episode between the big bang theory and bob ross thats it, they both fell in love and fell apart until one fateful day when destiny brings them together again &&&& lets just see what happens next w it.

I found an extremely dope disability survival guide for those who are homebound, bedbound, in need of disability accommodations, or would otherwise like resources for how to manage your life as a disabled person. (Link is safe)
It has some great articles and resources and while written by people with ME/CFS, it keeps all disabilities in mind. A lot of it is specific to the USA but even if you're from somewhere else, there are many guides that can still help you. Some really good ones are:
How to live a great disabled life- A guide full of resources to make your life easier and probably the best place to start (including links to some of the below resources). Everything from applying for good quality affordable housing to getting free transportation, affordable medication, how to get enough food stamps, how to get a free phone that doesn't suck, how to find housemates and caregivers, how to be homebound, support groups and Facebook pages (including for specific illnesses), how to help with social change from home, and so many more.
Turning a "no" into a "yes"- A guide on what to say when denied for disability aid/accommodations of many types, particularly over the phone. "Never take no for an answer over the phone. If you have not been turned down in writing, you have not been turned down. Period."
How to be poor in America- A very expansive and helpful guide including things from a directory to find your nearest food bank to resources for getting free home modifications, how to get cheap or free eye and dental care, extremely cheap internet, and financial assistance with vet bills
How to be homebound- This is pretty helpful even if you're not homebound. It includes guides on how to save spoons, getting free and low cost transportation, disability resources in your area, home meals, how to have fun/keep busy while in bed, and a severe bedbound activity master list which includes a link to an audio version of the list on Soundcloud
Master List of Disability Accommodation Letters For Housing- Guides on how to request accommodations and housing as well as your rights, laws, and prewritten sample letters to help you get whatever you need. Includes information on how to request additional bedrooms, stop evictions, request meetings via phone, mail, and email if you can't in person, what you can do if a request is denied, and many other helpful guides
Special Laws to Help Domestic Violence Survivors (Vouchers & Low Income Housing)- Protections, laws, and housing rights for survivors of DV (any gender), and how to get support and protection under the VAWA laws to help you and/or loved ones receive housing and assistance
Dealing With Debt & Disability- Information to assist with debt including student loans, medical debt, how to deal with debt collectors as well as an article with a step by step guide that helped the author cut her overwhelming medical bills by 80%!
There are so many more articles, guides, and tools here that have helped a lot of people. And there are a lot of rights, resources, and protections that people don't know they have and guides that can help you manage your life as a disabled person regardless of income, energy levels, and other factors.
Please boost!
