Favorite story you’ve written so far: This answer changes all the time. I will *always* love And I’ll Give You a Safe Place to Land because it’s my longest, my first, and my ultimate dream of how the MCU should have worked.

Fic you were nervous to post: At the time, Sobriety Chips and Salsa because it was really emotional for me. But also every single bang fic.

How you choose your titles: Randomly - I try to think what would make someone click on the fic, but usually it’s just the thing that comes to me when it’s time to post.

Christine Everhart had that look on her face,like Tony Stark had told her a particularly unpalatable truth and she wasn’tsure if she should believe him (because she didn’t want to) or call him a liar.

Except that shewas fairly certain he was telling the truth. Which annoyed her.

Tony’s innertwelve-year-old did a fist pump of triumph, although outwardly his demeanor wasas unflappable as always. He’d been in front of cameras since he was a child.It was going to take more than an ex-lover with a grudge to get him to crack.

Especially today.

“Well, you see,”Tony said, gesturing, “a hundred and seventeen countries signed the Accords. Wefelt we had no choice in the matter.”

“You had nochoice?”

“The United Statesclaimed the moon by virtue of putting some dusty old boot on the surface andplanting a flag,” Tony said. “And if there’s one thing I’ve discovered aboutAmericans, it’s that they’ll buy or sell… well, anything.”

“Including themoon.”

“Including themoon,” Tony said. “Of which I am now sole proprietor, owner, and mayor. And…well, I decided to make some changes to the outdated laws of Earth. Why shouldI be stingy, right? Why should it be one man and one woman? Right? We said noto that ten years ago. So, now, on the moon, why should marriage be onlytwo people? It’s senseless. Nuclear family is over. We tried it. It wasisolating, it was detrimental to our mental health, our finances, our planet.Auxiliary family is the way, baby.”

“So, you marriedall your friends?”

“Oh, no,” Tonysaid. “This dome would be a lot bigger if I had to house all my friends. Theseare just my spouses.”

“Big dome,”Christine said, tipping her head to one side. “And you have three husbands?”

“And one wife.Don’t forget Pepper. Never forget Pepper. None of us would be alive if itwasn’t for Pepper. She’s the real hero here.”

“Speaking ofheroes, how does the Accords figure in here?”

“They don’t wantthe Avengers on Earth, getting into politics, saving the day, destroying cities.It’s understandable, really. And my second husband, Steve, you remember Steve,right? Captain America? Well, if he sees a situation headed south, he can’tignore it. It’s really hard to see stupid, petty Earth shit from the moon.”

“Does Miss Potts –do you still call her Miss Potts, or–”

“We are, in fact,all Potts now. Dr. Potts, Captain Potts, Colonel Potts, Sergeant Potts and Mrs.Potts. Sounds nice, don’t you think. And it makes those pots and kettles jokesso much funnier. Pep doesn’t always appreciate my humor, but at least Buckystill loves me.”

“It’s hard tobelieve you married the man who–”

Tony leveled hischin at her. “No. We’re not discussing that, it’s been hashed over, it’shistory. The Winter Soldier no longer exists, thank you for playing who thehell do you think you are, anyway?”

“Right,” Stevesaid, standing up and flicking off the television. “I think we’ve seen enough.”

“I’ll get coffeeon,” Bucky said. “His shuttle’s due in like twenty minutes.”

“You really thinkcoffee’s going to help?” Rhodey demanded, but he was already in the closet,pulling out every fluffy blanket they owned.

“I’ve gotcheeseburgers–” Pepper said, coming in the door, swinging the take-away bag.Surprising how many businesses they had for the little Dome city. Pepper hadn’tallowed them to call it Pottsville, so they named the city Crisium City, forthe lake it was built over. And, because as Tony said, they were constantlyliving in crises anyway, right?

“You saw the‘wave?” Bucky asked, kissing her cheek and taking the bag from her.

“Happy told me allabout it on the shuttle home,” Pepper said, stepping out of her shoes. Buckyalways liked it when she went barefoot. A soft kind of vulnerability, only forher husbands.

“Rhodey wasamusing himself by watching it again,” Steve accused, and then laughed asRhodey threw a sofa cushion at him.

“He’s coming,”Pepper said.

Tony opened thedoor to their private dome a moment later. Looked around. Blinked.

“What’s this?”

Bucky patted thespace on the sofa reserved for him. “Welcome home. There’s coffee andcheeseburgers.”

“And a wholemarathon of those science fiction movies you like,” Steve offered.

“She was acomplete bitch, I hope she didn’t upset you,” Pepper said. “That woman alwayshas had more ambition than sense.”

“Have you eatenanything more than coffee since you left?” Rhodey demanded.

“You think I’mupset? About Christine getting in my face about our marriage? Don’t be silly,our marriage is the best thing that’s ever happened to me,” Tony said.

“She was acting–”

“Sour grapes,”Tony said. “She’s jealous. And who wouldn’t be.”

“To have allthis,” Rhodey said, gesturing to Tony’s… everything.

“To have allthis,” Tony nodded, indicating the whole group.

PepperStuckony Hallmark Challenge snippet

Written for the @heamarvel Hallmark Challenge --- a challenge that even I, as a mod, said I wouldn’t be participating in, I’ll have you know. I am definitely not a fan of Hallmark movies, preferring to make fun of them as my mom tries to legitimately watch them (we... compromise).

BUT, along came @tehroserose with her love for this Quad, and she won me over, enticing me gently to turn to the dark side because they have poly, not just cookies.

I may or may not continue.... oh who am I kidding. Rose, you’re awesome, and you’ll likely end up with some train car s/mut before Dec 24 (when this Challenge finishes). That good enough for you? ;) ily

I did Prompt 9: An anxious bride-to-be (Character A, “bride” is non-gender assigned) throws in with broken-hearted and cynical Character B and a happily married couple for an emergency ride to Point X from Point Z.

“Let’s play a game,” she begged—her, Pepper Potts, CEO of Stark Industries, reduced to begging.

There was only so much Pepper could handle, and it seemed like she’d reached her limit. That limit seemed to contain many different things:

One of which was Tony, the love of her life, engaged—arranged via Howard of all people; who even arranged marriages anymore??—to another man he didn’t even like, let alone love, sitting next to and pressed against her from knee to hip to shoulder. She was uncomfortably aware of every single part of him.

Another thing helping her reach her limit was that said love of her life had somehow lost his wallet and the small bag containing her phone and StarkPad. Not only was she bored practically to tears, but they needed to be in Ottawa yesterday if they were to make the meeting with the Prime Minister’s cabinet on time, and the only method of transportation available to them in Halifax had been the VIA Rail train—every last plane was cancelled or diverted due to the blizzard, including their Learjet, every last car rented, and Tony and Pepper both refused to get on a bus of all things.

Which left… the train.

Oh, it wasn’t so bad, if you got past the fact that the trip took on average twenty eight hours. Twenty. Eight. Hours. Tony had reminded her of that fact one too many times.

She was well aware, Tony.

Especially considering all she had to amuse herself was a collection of battered, dog-eared, creased Hallmark and Harlequin novels one of their companions had loaned her with a blush.

Ah, yes, their companions. The third of many reasons Pepper had reached her limit.

There was only so much that Pepper could handle when forced to listen to two disgustingly sweet (loving) men, who were so obviously in love with each other, prattle on and on about their Christmas plans. How it was going to be so perfect, so beautiful, so spirited, so loving, so perfect perfect perfect, and even about the history of their small town’s Christmas traditions and especially those of their large, loving, amazing, extended family.

Four times now Pepper had been reminded of everything she desired most in the world.

Steve Rogers had to be on the fifth go of the same exact topics, with that same sappy (stunning) and dopey (adorable) look on his face, as his husband, James call-me-”Bucky” Barnes went through their photo album, and shared the memories with not only his husband, but also Pepper and Tony.

But worst of all—the absolute worst thing—was the thing that pushed her over the edge: Tony looked happy. He looked wistful, as if he wanted what they had, and Pepper… Pepper wanted it too.

But she couldn’t have it. Tony was not meant for her, as much as she might wish it.

As much as she did wish it.

Thus the game.

“Truth or Dare,” Tony said immediately, his devilish grin, his roguish charm, more suited for Halloween than two days before Christmas, spelling immediate doom for Pepper—and Steve and Bucky, if she knew her Tony.

She did.

“Truth,” Steve and Bucky answered simultaneously, leaning back and relaxing into a comfortable-looking snuggle with each other on the opposite bench seat.

“Hmm,” Tony mused, his eyes as wide and observant as they’d been for the last seven hours of their trip.

Damn it, Pepper groaned internally. Tony was awesome when he got like this—both in the very bad and the very good sense of the word.

“You both find my Pepper here stunning, don’t you?” he asked, voice even and light, curious, though he sounded sure of himself, as if he already knew the answer and was simply waiting to see if they would lie to him.

Oh fuck me, Pepper wanted to say aloud, and she never swore out loud, never; instead opting to internally up the dial on her freak-out, the only outward sign of her reaction a probably rather comical widening of her eyes.

Her breath caught in her throat as the two men opposite them sent suddenly dark, appreciative glances her way.

Nope. Her control noped right out.

Summary: Death is only the beginning...

No, Death isn't done with Tony Stark—nor the rest of the Avengers. And they aren't done with Death.

Because once they realize that Death has brought one of their own back to them, the bargaining begins for Natasha's life. But Death drives a hard bargain. She always has, and always will. Just look at Tony—he didn't come back quite right, as if Death had taken something from him in payment.

A Post-Endgame Fix-It (because screw you, Russos) where I maybe make things really angsty before I make them better. And I bring Tony and Nat back because I absolutely must. *flips the bird at the movie and walks away crying* (Currently 2/? chapters written.)

Pinned: Writing Updates

Hiya folks! ^_^ With this new pinned post feature, I figured it would be a good spot to put updates on how my writing is going (or not). As most of you know, mental and physical illness and recovery keep me from writing either quickly or easily, and I know that bothers or puts off some of you. Believe me, I feel guilty a lot of the time I’m not writing, but I know that nobody wants me to feel like this is a job, that I should enjoy what I do, and I try my best to just relax and let the writing come to me. It has always been a grueling task for me, and my words fight me, but I choose to see this as a labour of love. Thank you, everyone, for your support (and for holding up my fragile, rebuilding, self-confidence/ego :P). Managing chronic pain and illnesses along with fairly rapid-cycling Bipolar II makes things a bit messy, but I keep pushing because writing (and you amazing readers) means so much to me. 💜

UPDATE September 4th: see below “Read More”

Previous update, August 21st: Still only about 2400 words into chapter 28 of Cross, and I deleted Hurricane due to reasons but will be working on it bit by bit to instead post it as a single-chapter fic later on when people aren’t so busy anymore. Means I can focus on Cross though, which is all people want from me anyway. S’all good! Looking forward to moving that story along anyway.

Still have @grlie-girl’s Mansom fic, which is an MTH-adjacent fic. But then that’s it! Then I’ll start back up on Deliverance, my Stuckony kidfic, and keep moving Cross along. :) I’ve also been doing quite a lot of brainstorming for my original fiction series, which will be a combo SciFi-Fantasy series with magic and tech both, along with an eventual triad relationship! I’m really excited for it, even if it takes me decades more to write. xD

Works in Progress:

Hanging From a Cross of Iron: Fem!Tony Stuckony, time travel and soulmate AU. Just posted chapter 27 on July 19th! Yay! I’m about 2400 words into chapter 28 and I’m forging ahead as mental and physical health allows. But I think... maybe before the end of August? Thank you, everyone, for your kindness and patience!

Stony MTH fic for @ishipallthings: Fem!Tony Stony, Pacific Rim AU. Natasha Stark/Steve Rogers (Earth-3490) Get Together fic. @sparkly-angell is awesome and helping me by being a soundboard and beta. 5-15k. Will post it all together at a later date instead of chapter by chapter.

Deliverance: Stuckony kid fic, post-Avengers but in the alternate timeline that occurs after Avengers: Endgame. Have not forgotten about this, but it dropped in priority once I sorta over-committed myself to MTH, whoops. I’ll be back to this, though. :)

Gift fic for @grlie-girl, Mansom: (Marta/Ransom) from Knives Out. Dirty, filthy, femme!Domme Sugar Mama post-canon oneshot. I may need a second account to post this pile of filthy hot lava. ;)

UPDATE September 4th: I’m going to put up a separate post, probably, but what’s going on is this... I obviously have Bipolar II and have learned to ride the ups and downs pretty well in recent years, even if some things still surprise me on occasion. But what I’ve never been able to properly treat or learn to deal with is anxiety. I’ve always had GAD (general anxiety) but it’s been untreated since I had so much other shitty health to focus on. Prioritization, right? And I needed all my faculties to not end up dead at the hands or by the gun of my ex. Then, after I left, I was making strides in recovering from the severe abuse and trauma at my ex-husband’s hands, sharp tongue, and actions from July 2017 until... well, it’s still an ongoing process, but this whole year, part of 2019 too, has been a lot better on the healing front. The strides I was making helped me focus on things other than my anxiety, but after dealing with those things, the anxiety started crawling insistently in.

Didn’t help that I finally felt up to checking out what was going on in the world more often. And it’s been good for me, it has... in that I’ve become better educated in the awfulness of the world, which has allowed me to call out racists, ‘Truthers’, and other asshole bigots who remind me of my ex. The downside of all that is that I am way over-empathetic and am appalled at the absolute.... *makes incoherent helpless noises*... just, appalled at EVERYTHING. And I am afraid. And worried. And angry. And a slew of other words that I’m sure every one of you get. You’re all intelligent; you know what’s going on in the world.

And sometimes I devolve into apathy, sometimes sleepless nights (I get about 16-20 hours of sleep a WEEK right now, which should be in the 40-60 hour range, frankly), increased pain on top of the fuckton I’m already in, worsening migraines, dizziness, and the intrusive thoughts of my bipolar depression keep telling me there’s an easy way out of this all. That’s when I knew I needed to do something. So sitting down with my loving father and my caring psychotherapist, I put together a list of my symptoms, what I wanted to tackle most, what I was willing to let go, how all of it interacted (cocktail medications, which I’m already on, can be dangerous and deadly), and then put together a proposal for my doctor, who’s been my family practitioner for two decades.

When you hit the point of panic attacks weekly, and not being able to sleep, even with a double dose of your sleep medication... when you don’t want to watch the things that bring you some modicum of joy for fear of aspects reminding you about the real world... when you wish you simply didn’t exist anymore... you need help. I needed help, and I won’t shy away from discussing that in a public setting, for the simple fact that someone who reads this might need to hear that it’s not the end all be all, not the end of the line, not the end of your life. So with the support of my father and my therapist, who I spoke to last night and this morning, respectively, in advance of my doctor’s appoint this afternoon... My doctor listened attentively to me and gave me permission to go on benzodiazepines again. I will be taking one daily, the one that doesn’t have nearly as great a spike of effect, but lasts longer and steadier, and will also be taking the other, spikier one, as the equivalent of a rescue inhaler for the next panic attack.

I’m not trying to hide from what’s going on in the world. But there is a line I need to learn to respect in how much news I look for, how I consume it, and how I let myself run away with myself at any injustice I see. And fuck, there is a lot. I will still be keeping abreast of the news, still educating myself, still engaging in discussions with people I trust to be kind to my mental state as best they can in the situation, and other things. This will simply make it so I don’t devolve into an incoherent mess of a breakdown/panic attack, and most importantly it will keep me from suicide. It’s never been much of a threat for me, but lately...? Let’s just say I am a bit more concerned than usual.

Gotta love brains, eh? Mental illness sucks. But this is one way I can take control. Other ways include the Nutrisystem diet I recently started, going for regular walks with my pupper and dad, reading 42 Sci-Fi/Fantasy books and counting in 2020, breathing exercises, removing harmful elements from my life even if that pains me in the moment... I’m making progress in other areas.

But what does this mean for my writing? Well. Good question. The last few times I took the stronger of these two medications (on a more daily, vs rescue, basis), well, I didn’t write hardly at all. I have hopes for being able to write during this, with the more steady medication, but I also have to feel happy to write, and the state of the world isn’t going to give me much opportunity to feel that for months yet, if not years (go and goddamn vote)... so yeah. But I realized that I don’t put myself first in big ways like this. And this time I need to. If the writing happens, that’s wonderful. If it doesn’t? Well, I’ll settle for less anxiety and not being dead, and I hope that that’s okay with y’all. I know it’s frustrating when a favourite author takes ages to update, and I’ve always been fairly guilty of that... but you all know that I ALWAYS come back. That’s what I do. I love this community, this fandom, my beta, my readers... you make it all worth coming back to.

So please, all I ask is that you be patient with me. I’m experiencing a pretty severe mental health crisis and not holding on too solidly. But I’m thinking of you. Thinking of all of you, and just how much I appreciate you.

There’s also a PepperStuckony Wing fic getting cooked up for @tehroserose, a collab with @ashes0909 for Marvel4BLM and then... welll.... MTH is kicking off again!

Posting Now! Past, Present, and Future (?) - MTH 2019 adjacent fic that features de-aged Avengers and parental figures Stucky with guest appearances by MJ, Peter, and Pepper helping to make sure the tiny super heroes stay alive. Steve-Tony Games Fluff Fills - A whole host of one-shots that put these two in a lot of universes. These Times have been interesting for my productivity. I’ve gone through a few weeks where I’ve written upwards of 15k and a few where I stared at blinking cursors. I am exceptionally grateful for fandom in general, though - y’all have gotten me through a lot of lonely moments!

@festiveferret and I also made the INCREDIBLE decision to start a podcast about two weeks before everyone went inside and stopped listening to podcasts, but we’re 11 episodes in and not planning on stopping anytime soon. Give a listen @podonthesuit.
