Midoriya - no caps, its not even on purpose. he just forgets to, and this slightly triggers some of his friends.

Iida - Very proper, and doesn't text naturally. He more so gives updates. Like...

'I have just gone on a nice run, the sun is very bright today.'

Bakugo - Many would think he'd be all caps and aggressive... But no. Why would he waste time on the extras? So he often respond with 'K' 'No' 'Yes' or leaves them as read. Depending on the person, he will occasionally threaten them.

Todoroki - Texts normally, but if he's feeling fun he'll add the basic 🙂or🙁 emoji. He does have a habit of leaving people on read... But he means well.

Uraraka - She's 50/50 she'll either text normally, and spell everything correct. Or misspell tons of words on purpose with so many emojis💕❤️🎂😜😝🎉. She also reacts to everyone's texts.

Kirishima - Hypes everyone up, he rarely even talks about himself. He just tries to help everyone else out.

'Bakubro, don't be hard on yourself! You're so manly!'

Denki - He has a meme reaction for every situation. Dad died? Squidward is here, no cookies left? Homer Simpson appeared, ran out of toilet paper? Rupaul just popped up.

Mina - ALL CAPS BECAUSE SHE IS SO HAPPY AND EXCITED TO BE TALKING WITH HER PALS AND SHE HAS SO MANY FUN STORIES TO TELL, ALSO LOTS OF EMOJIS! 💕🎉💖💕💖💕💖😜💋🦅

Sero - Sends meme reactions, but not as much as Denki. And he weirdly feels bad for unused emojis so he'll send out weird ones.

Jiro - Doesn't talk much, she keeps it short and simple. She prefers talking through snapchat feeds or in person.

Momo - Starts all of the most used groupchats, but oddly enough rarely talks in them. She's busy, but she'll answer if someone needs help with studying or something.

Tokoyami - Quotes from his favorite movies or books a lot, tries to give advice even if it isn't the best advice. He likes to use 💀 emoji a lot.

Tsu - Sneaky, she takes screenshots of shady moments or makes private group chats to exclude the boys from. She's all for the girlies💅

Ojiro - Just watches the chaos unfold, sometimes comments on Tokoyami's quotes, saying he knows where it's from.

Sato - Sends yummy recipes he learned for people to try out, shares photos of beautiful sunsets, nice dinners, and wholesome quotes he found. Overall wholesome texter.

Aoyama - Takes selfies of himself, and sends them randomly. Like in a middle of a discussion over homework, he just sends a selfie of himself he thought was cute.

Hagakure - Starts heated debates, she nearly made the whole group chat become deleted after she asked if pineapple belongs on pizza. She likes to stir the pot, she makes sure to add a topic that triggers either Bakugo or Aoyama since they get the most heated.

Shoji - Gets brought into conversations a lot, gets hyped up by people randomly. And even started a small meme amongst the group that he was unaware of, he rarely texts in the group chat but everyone always wants him to join.

Koda - Sends game links in the chat just so he could get free gems in the game he's playing due to sharing the link. He also likes to use pet emojis, and share cute photos of his bunny.

Mineta - Was banned several times in the chat, by numerous people. Has to be told multiple times not to fall for p*rn scam ads, also sends game links for free gems.

She won’t hurt you… I promise.’ Koda reasurred. He brought his bunny (Yuwai) over to Todoroki. ‘Just stay still’ since he didn’t have a pets growing up, Todoroki had been isolated from all animals and became uncomfortable around them. But Koda wanted to fix that, so he brought the nicest animal he could think of to try and calm his nerves. Shoto was sitting cross legged on the floor of Koda’s room, patently waiting for the bunny to be placed in his lap.

‘Be careful, she’s kind of nervous around new people’ Koda calmly places Yuwai in Shoto’ lap and her noses twitches as she investigates him. ‘If you stick your arm out let her smell you she’ll get comfortable easier’

The half and half boy nodded doing as he was told. Yuwai sniffed his hand and moved around. Trying to beg a sense of the new person she was presented with.

‘She’s really nice really, I hope this will be the first step to getting you used to animals.’ Todoroki nodded.

Everything was going well till he suddenly jolted, scaring Koda. ‘Sorry, she started biting my hand, it feels weird’ The stoic boy apologised. Koda nodded and turned his attention else were. But Yuwai was still nibbling on his arm, specifically his palm and he couldn’t ignore the surprisingly ticklish feeling. A smile was spreading on his mouth and his arm was starting to shake But he didn’t pull away in fear on hurting the rabbit. ‘P-Please stop’ he whispered under his breath as if the bunny could hear him. Eventually he couldn’t take it anymore and burst our into laughter. ‘Hahahahaha! Kohohohohoda hehehehlp!’ Koad turned around to see the rare sight of a giggling Todoroki. ‘Plehehehase hehehehehelp!’ At least it was clear he was getting more comfortable with animals.

The cool water of the Eastvale River ran over fWhip’s feet, cooling him amidst the summer heat. He supposed it would’ve been more refreshing if he didn’t already have a higher-than-normal heat tolerance, but whatever. Let him enjoy the little things on his day off, dammit. He’d finally secured a day free of (most of) their duties as Count, so they were taking the time to let off steam and relax for once. It’d actually been great so far. They’d spent the morning at Gem’s for a nice brunch while it was still cool out, and he finally got the chance to try that frog-leg soup that was so popular in the Cliffs. It was… Let’s just say it was not for them- but it was interesting! Afterward, he’d messed around in the forge for about an hour or so before meeting with Jimmy at the river like they’d planned. They had picked a more secluded spot than it was downstream; farther away from the city and covered in trees for the smallest amount of privacy since they still hadn’t announced their relationship yet.

Speaking of their relationship, fWhip was just about ready to end it as another drop of water hit his paper. “Be more careful, will you?” He scowled. “You’re gonna ruin my whole notebook at this rate.” Yeah, maybe it wasn’t the smartest idea to bring a book near water, especially if it’s very important sketches of his next project, but… Actually, he doesn’t know how they were going to defend themselves, that was pretty stupid.

A mop of blonde hair named Jimmy emerged from below the surface with a smile larger than life that may or may not have softened fWhip’s hard facade. “Well, why don’t you put the book away and get in with me!” He offered, crossing his arms on the riverbank to flash that blinding grin at his boyfriend.

The Count took a slow, deliberate breath to try and calm down his unreasonable frustration, setting the vulnerable pages as far from the water as he could reach. “You know I can’t swim in my binder, dumbass. I’ve told you that a million times,” he said, with no real malice this time around, “Plus, some of us aren’t lucky enough to not have tits, Mr. Fish.”

The cod snickered at that, but quickly changed the mood around. “But I’m lonely!” Jimmy whined, pushing himself backwards to float into the deeper water. The position gave fWhip an ample view of the pathetic face the cod was making.

He didn’t entertain Jim’s pleas, only giving him a stare that said something along the lines of I love you but by Goddess do you annoy me.

The Codfather decided to pull out plan B, something so irresistible that even his cold-hearted, evil boyfriend couldn’t say no to. He waded closer and rested his chin on fWhip’s knees, staring up at him with the biggest eyes he could muster. “Pwease?”

fWhip reddened at the closeness and pressed a foot to Jimmy’s chest, pushing him back into the river. “Fine, but next time your puppy eyes won’t work on me. I’ve got more than enough practice with resisting Nova and Koda’s.”

Jimmy giggled as the ginger pulled their tunic over his head. “Excuse you, they’re guppy eyes.”

fWhip paused to give Jim a glare in the process, looking rather silly with his shirt still bunched around their arms. “That was a terrible pun and you know it.”

The fish sucked in a sharp gasp. “That was great! Admit it!”

“Nope,” he said, popping the P . He tuned out Jimmy’s argument for why he makes great jokes- the cod’s words not his- while they unstrapped the binder and pulled their shirt back on, tossing the garment to lay with the book. They let out a brief sigh of relief from the usually comforting restriction, pulling up their shirt and pant legs. “Ready.”

Jim looked up at them with giddiness clear on his face if his wiggling fins didn’t show that enough already. He quickly reached up to grab fWhip’s hands and the Count blushed at what he assumed would be a romantic gesture. He was clearly highly mistaken when he was unceremoniously tugged forward. The only thing they could do was yelp before the water enveloped him.

When he arose, Jimmy was snickering, most likely at the sight of fWhip’s hair flattening to his self-described egg-shaped head.

“You,” they sneered, “are the worst.”

The other giggled for a second before leaning in and pressing a quick kiss to the tip of fWhip’s nose and resting their foreheads together. “You loooove me,” he countered, drawing out the word for effect.

The Count only frowned and childishly blew a raspberry at the cod. “You’re right, but I’m not happy about it.”

Jimmy cheered at successfully dodging an assassination attempt. Hopefully, at the end of the day he’d still be alive to have that nice dinner “between rulers” in the tavern fWhip was always gushing about.

20th Anniversary

Namie Amuro: Style (2003.12.10)

There are at least four distinct eras in Namie Amuro's career: 1) her initial debut with the idol-ish super eurobeat/dance group SUPER MONKEY'S (which spawned the group MAX) from 1992 to 1995, 2) her major debut as a solo artist with Avex Trax in 1995, kicked off by the single "Body Feels EXIT," through to the height of her popularity as a leading figure in the J-pop industry alongside producer Tetsuya Komuro until her abrupt hiatus in 1997, 3) the awkward, not-very-well-received comeback and transition to post-TK R&B, which saw the lowest sales numbers of her career, and lasted roughly until the release of Queen of Hip-Pop in 2005, and 4) her meteoric rebound, transition back to dance-pop, and the cementing of her status as a legend, until the abrupt announcement of her retirement in 2017. There are a lot of mini-moments within these eras, and many parts overlap so that it's not exactly seamless, but that's the gist of it.

While Namie's comeback was one of the rarest in music history, the factors that led to the initial nadir are just as interesting and numerous. For one, she had squandered the goodwill of the public by engaging in activity that was frowned upon in Japan at the time: she hooked up with a backup dancer, got pregnant, got married, got tattoos, and got divorced, all within the space of a couple of years. On top of it, Namie's success was tied to that of her producer, the mega-popular and prolific Tetsuya Komuro, who was basically running a personal empire in the 1990s. While Namie's popularity and success was never due solely to the music he was writing for her, it was an enormous contributing factor to her sales numbers. TK's brand of pop was the defining style of the 90s, with no one better able to pry open wallets in what was the CD format's most lucrative era. But just as quickly and completely as he ruled hearts and charts, his music fell out of style, also as a result of several factors (mostly the rise of singer-songwriters and R&B/hip-hop in the mainstream, and personal issues involving everything from tax evasion, to drug rumors and a wild romantic life). Namie teaming up with him again for her immediate comeback never stood a chance against so much drama. So major changes were made when Namie ditched the Komuro baggage, taking the plunge with new support -- Dallas Austin, m-flo, ZEEBRA, even Teddy Riley -- into the world of R&B and hip-hop.

This brave step didn't immediately produce amazing results: if anything, Namie's early forays proved lackluster and indecisive on albums like GENIUS 2000. It wasn't until 2003's STYLE that she finally and fully committed to the change. Gone were the days of chasing the chance and dreaming that she was dreaming, Namie was now putting up her dukes, wishing on the same star, and shining more. The songs on the album were all heavily influenced by contemporary Western trends of the time, especially Black hip-hop, fashion, and culture. The early 00s was still the era of P. Diddy, Jennifer Lopez, Nelly, Busta Rhymes and Missy Elliott, and in some ways, STYLE samples sounds from all of these artists in different ways, with the inclusion of a few softer songs, such as "Four Seasons," "As Good As," and "Come," which were deliberately added for variety. But for the most part, the album is built on beats, bars, and rhymes. This was still a fairly new thing to see in the Japanese mainstream, and certainly by an Avex Trax artist -- for comparison, Ayumi Hamasaki had just released her rock opus I am..., while RAINBOW merely dipped a toe into R&B on a song like "Real me," Ai Otsuka was less than a year out from releasing LOVE PUNCH, Hikaru Utada was actually going softer and more art-pop with Deep River, and both BoA and Kumi Koda had just debuted in Japan with LISTEN TO MY HEART and affection respectively, which stayed squarely on the softer R&B/pop side of the fence. Only Crystal Kay, HEARTSDALES, and maybe DOUBLE were a step ahead of Namie, but I would argue that STYLE and Namie's involvement in projects like SUITE CHIC really let the sound transition into the broader and bigger Oricon mainstream, prompting a rash of copycat records.

Even so, STYLE did poorly. It still hit #1 in its first week, but it stands as Namie's least popular record with the fewest sales numbers to this day. It does, however, have something of a cult following by fans who now look back at the early 00s with nostalgia. Personally, I didn't like this album when I first heard it -- its lack of pop and dance music, which I was used to hearing from Namie, coupled with what seemed like a desperate bid for relevancy in a genre that I wasn't particularly interested in at the time, turned me off from spending much time with it. Nowadays, I dislike this album less -- there are songs on here that I actually really like. My only real caveat is that the album is split too abruptly at the halfway point between the bangers and the non-hip-hop tracks. In hindsight, STYLE is clearly Namie still getting comfortable in this milieu, and it's especially obvious next to albums like Queen of Hip-Pop and PLAY that were more successful at capturing something both influenced by hip-hop and unique to what only Namie could bring.

This CD album comes in a standard jewel case with an OBI and a booklet that features additional photos and lyrics. First press editions featured two exclusive bonus tracks: a remix of "SO CRAZY," and an alternate version of "Wishing on the Same Star." For me, this album is more interesting for what lead to it, what it lead to, and what it said about the state of Namie Amuro and J-pop at the time. It's not great, but it's not nearly as bad as I remember it being. Avex Trax, of course, would politely disagree, largely ignoring it on the career-summarizing compilation album Finally (only "SO CRAZY" represents). After something as tentative and a bit try-hard as this, the world was not ready for what was coming down the pipe with Queen of Hip-Pop, making that era all the more wild and magical.

Heroes Rising novel translation (7/7)

Last two scenes! I translated the scene where the heroes arrive to help the kids, as in the movie it was just a music sequence without dialogue. And then I translated Katsuma and Mahoro's goodbyes to Bakugou and Deku

Scene 10 (Aizawa and other heroes arrive to the island, just after the fight. I mainly wanted to translate Shouto and Endeavor)

After the battle, help arrived in every side of the island. They removed the rocks from the cave where the citizens had found safety. Sato and the others, who had been waiting to see if a villain was about to attack, were quite relieved to see Aizawa, who had arrived with Uwabami and other pro Heroes. The citizens cheered joyfully when they understood they were being saved. And Aizawa turned to speak with Sato, Koda and Hagakure.

"You hold your position well, kids."

"P-professor!!" the three teens yelled, for a moment returning to their youthful students persona, and throwing themselves to hug their teacher, without even realizing.

On the mountain, Yaoyorozu and Aoyama were rescued by the Defence Forces.

"I could not stop twinkling and shitting my pants!"

Yaoyorozu smiled at Aoyama, who was holding his belly and was showing her a sign of victory with his fingers. There was a serene calm atmosphere between them, after having fought together at the first checkpoint.

"Shoutoooo! I am happy to find you safe and sound!"

In the waterfall area, Endeavor let out a scream of relief, picking up the son just found, to warm him up.

"Put me down."

"Shoutoooo!"

Another yell overpowered Todoroki's voice who, uncomfortable, and witha frown on his face, seemed even too warm now. Iida, Kirishima and Tsuyu watched with amusement the confrontation between the hot headed father and the icy son, while Endeavor's sidekicks tended to their wounds.

Tokoyami and Ashido had been saved from the underground cave, but the girl was on a stretcher because of the wounds in her leg. She smiled at Tokoyami and Dark Shadow, who were both escoring her, with worry.

"Thank you."

Dark Shadow was quite happy when she petted him on the head, and then the two turned towards Tokoyami and gave him a thumb up, as if to show him that there was nothing to worry about. The teen nodded, to thank them for their kindness.

"Ohh, you are really down and out."

"You too, no joking."

At the rocky area, Sero and Kaminari were being rescued by the military too, and they fist bumped to congratulate each others on their successful endeavor. Nearby, Ochako was being helped by Ryukyu, who had her in her arms. Ochako was also relieved, but felt guilty at the same time.

"I-I am sorry... but thank you."

"Don't worry about it," the woman replied, with a kind smile. Ochako also smiled, while behind her Mineta was grinning with beatitude, in the arms of a beautiful female pro Heroes.

"Ahh... now I can even die..."

The hero frowned, confused by what the teen was saying, now that he was being rescued and was safe.

Among the ruins of the castle, rescue arrived for Jirou, Ojiro and Shoji too.

"Thank you! Heroes!" Katsuma and Mahoro thanked them with all their voice, waving their hands, and the three teens answered with a smile. Shoji was being carried away on a wheelchair, but thanks to the child's healing powers his wounds were quite better now.

Mummy, already detained under the sugar factory, was arrested, alongside Slice and Chimera. Police took them away without troubles. Looking at what was happening, Hawks frowned, full of suspicion. "What are your intentions, Tomura Shigaraki?"

Scene 11 (Mahoro and Katsuma's goodbyes, last scene of the novel)

Katsuma and Mahoro were running towards the ship. Noticing the absence of Izuku and Bakugou, they had asked their father to drive them and they had run to say their goodbyes.

"Big brother Deku!"

"Bakugouu!"

"Kids!"

Even the others noticed them and started to wave their hands.

"You protected..."

"... the people of the island!"

"Thank you for everything!" the two children both screamed together.

The Class 1A students' smiles got even bigger for the gratitute of the two siblings, which was the gratitutde of the whole population of the island. It was the proof that they really managed to act as heroes.

While running, Katsuma noticed Izuku and Bakugou, and he yelled: "Big brother Deku, I will become the strongest! So strong that I will be able to protect my dad and my sister! And I will surely become a great hero like you and Bakugou!"

Izuku's face lit up with joy: yes, now he knew that the message had arrived. His eyes were getting teary, but he did everything he could to resist and instead he smiled. Near him, Bakugou was also smiling, apparently not as annoyed like he was trying to pretend he was.

"Do not forget those words, you damn brat."

At that point, Izuku took a deep breath and he screamed with all he could: "Katsuma! You... you can become a hero!"

At those words, the child's eyes widened and he even forgot how to breath. The light of those words, which were being said by the hero he loved the most and respected the most... they lit up his small world, for a second. A dream was born.

"I will wait for you at UA!"

Izuku waved his hand, smiling. Even Bakugou gave him a small wave of goodbye. Mahoro was vigurously waving her arms in answer, and at her side, Katsuma looked at the ship getting smaller and smaller.

In that moment, a dream that had been kept in his heart became a new goal. A smile flourished on the kid's face, his chest filling with hopes and expectations for his future. The same feelings that filled the chest of the hero he admired so much.

Chapter 75

Time passed as I was still sitting on the couch with Katsuki asleep on my lap, I talked a bit with Eijiro, sometimes with Jiro too, discussing the song and whatnot until I saw Yaomomo coming in followed by Sato and Koda, each one carrying a box.

The dancing team had two of those boxes, while the band and stage team had the last one, and that's when I saw them taking the clothing from inside.

"Come on, (M/n), we have to get dressed." I nodded at Mina and looked down at my lap where Katsuki was still fast asleep. I took a quick glance around the common room, noticing that everyone was focusing on getting dressed, I leaned down and placed a kiss on his temple, moving his hair away from his face.

"Wake up, puppy~," I whispered in his ear, caressing his skin softly. He frowned slightly, blinking and looking up at me. I smiled at him and kissed the tip of his nose, "Get up, baby. I have to change." He growled and sat up, rubbing his face and yawning, I stood up and walked towards where Mina left my outfit. I grabbed it and walked to the first-floor bathroom.

When I got dressed and looked at myself in the mirror...

Why does it have to be yellow? Why? Who designed this?

Now I was dreading this performance even more. I have to dance and sing... with this outfit on?

Oh god.

I took a deep breath and decided to just walk out either way, I wasn't the only one wearing this, after all. Well, I was already nervous and when I walked into the common room I heard how everyone was trying to calm their own nerves. I walked and sat next to Katsuki again when I overheard something that I hadn't realized until now.

"Midoriya isn't back yet?" I turned to look at the rest of the dance team, and I realized that Izuku had left an hour ago, and... he hadn't come back yet. Did something happen?

Just thinking about anything going wrong made me feel even more nervous than before.

Like that, half an hour passed, and it already was 9 a.m, everyone was in the dressing room, waiting for Izuku who wasn't here yet, and my heart was racing inside my chest as I felt nervous and worried about the green-haired male. I flinched when I heard Present Mic announce the start of the Festival, which made me feel more on edge.

I looked around and spotted Katsuki, so I dragged my feet towards him and stood close to him, at least he could work as moral support. I could feel his crimson eyes glancing at me every now and then in complete silence until he nudged my side slightly. My (e/c) eyes shifted to look at him, trying to show him a smile.

"Why are you so nervous?" A breathy chuckle left my lips and I swallowed my saliva, looking down at the ground.

"I-it's just... I ha-have to dance and si-sing... I'm kinda scared, p-puppy." I bit my lip feeling my hands shaking, I was starting to feel my breath speeding up and I was getting lightheaded.

My vision was turning dizzy when I felt a tight hold on my hand, I tensed and looked to my side. Katsuki was looking away with a subtle blush on his cheeks, biting his lip and stroking the back of my hand with his thumb. A small smile grew on my face when I saw his shy expression.

I moved my arm back, pulling him closer to me and making him face me. I leaned down and kissed him deeply. He gasped against my lips, his eyes wide and his free hand on my chest, trying to push me away. After a few seconds, I broke our kiss and stared into his wide crimson eyes.

"I love you, Katsuki," he ended up choking on his words, blabbering nonsense until he just covered his face with his free hand, making me chuckle at his reaction.

We stayed there at the back, resting against the wall, while the stage and band team put on their orange t-shirt. Well, Katsuki was the only one who didn't want to wear it, but he'll have to eventually.

Like thirty minutes later, the feeling of panic came back because Midoriya wasn't here yet, and Sero explained it to Aizawa when he came to check up on us. Togata senpai and Eri were here too, I smiled at her and she waved her little hand at me.

Time went by until it was almost time for us to go on stage. I was nervous, once again, but at least seeing Kaminari force Katsuki to wear the t-shirt made me feel a bit more relaxed. When there were ten minutes left, Yuga decided to leave and wait for Izuku outside.

And like a miracle, as everyone was leaving the changing room, I decided to stay behind a bit longer to wait for Yuga to come back, and far ahead I saw them. He and Izuku were running with Ectoplasm sensei right behind them, and they stopped right outside the door to walk in, that's when I saw the greenette's state.

"What happened to you, Izuku?" I dragged him inside quickly, getting stuff to clean the dirt and blood on his face, he let out a quiet chuckle while he began taking off his dirty clothes.

"Don't worry, (M/n)-kun, I'm fine." He answered as he started to get dressed in the performance outfit. "By the way, shouldn't you be with the others? Why are you still here?"

"Because I was worried about you, dummy. Now, quick, get dressed so we can go. We'll barely make it," I helped Izuku get dressed, fixing his outfit and tying his tie, I tried to fix his curls a bit but that didn't really work.

"We have to go, guys." I held Izuku's hand as we followed Yuga to the gym where we'd be performing, and we got there just in time. Everyone was already in their positions, so we rushed to our positions on the stage. I was standing between Yuga and Shoji, at least for the intro of the song.

When Yaomomo saw me, she rushed to me and helped me put on the wireless microphone she made for me. I made eye contact with Katsuki while she was doing so, and he smiled at me, making me blush and smile back.

Momo went back to the keyboard when she made sure my mic was on and the curtain started to open, revealing all of us standing on the stage.

I took a deep breath and gulped when I saw everyone in the audience. That's a lot of people... but, Eri is here too, I could see her clearly. I smiled when I saw her being carried by Togata senpai, and I got ready for the song to start.

Thankfully Together MHA Ships/Writing Sparks for Nov.

I usually write character x reader plots, but I wanted to do some short posts for character x character pairings (that I ship). I'm going to attempt to do a different ship every day for the entire month of November (30 ships at the least though I may do more if I finish early). I'm currently short 3 ships.

I'd also be really interested in hearing what MxF character ships you guys would like to see, especially since I'm short 3 ships. If I get the time, or maybe for December, I'll focus on other people's ships.
