The loud shout and screams were painful to your ears as you watched your lover whipped constantly for faults that they have not made. The sounds of the whip hitting their skin, already bleeding from the constant beating.

You begged the man to stop, that they really might die if he continued yet he didn't listen instead choosing to hit harder as if to drown out the sound of your cries and begging.

Your voice was raw from the crying and begging yet nothing was done when you were locked in an iron cage, tiny unable to stand for the bars were too low. Your dress once luxurious and elegant, fit for a princess where now in tatters, thorn and dirtied when you were dragged to this place.

How many hours have passed since you and your partner tried to make an escape? When you were so close to the borders of the land only to be caught by the knights of the emperor and taken back with force.

Time was too slow, unbearably slow as you continued to hear their shouts of pain.

You didn't want to think, you wanted none of this. You were just a commoner, someone who was born in the poorer parts of the kingdom finally able to open your own small shop with the money you desperately saved.

Never have you dreamed to catch the attention of the emperor. When you thought you will finally live a happy life with your lover you were taken to the palace and became made a consort of a man you cannot look into his eyes.

Gold eyes, many call them the eyes of the royal blood yet you could not help but shiver when you look at them.

The glares of others were suffocating as you were called into the emperor's office, who was looking for you to hold and lean his head on.

It was common knowledge that many consorts here were only there because of politics. There was never any love between the emperor and them, so it was only natural that many grow to despise you chosen by the emperor because he wanted you unlike them, you were given affection and love while they rot in a corner of the palace alone.

You didn't want this, scared and alone with no backing and no one to protect you other than the emperor's adoration towards you. So sweet and loving as the soft kisses he places on your hands and cheeks. Yet possessive when he held your neck as he kissed your lips.

With his affectionate care when he told you stories of the past, you often wondered how old he was… nobody knew actually… numbers ranging from 500 years old to 6000 or even more. He was an old emperor, trusted by many to be the pillar of the land. Rumors surround him about who he was, his age and what he really was, many ideas, many theories yet you always found the rumor about him being a dragon fitting...

There was too much greed in his eyes when he looks at you after all.

You didn't want to be trapped in his arms, his love was too much for you. Too much of a burden, when all you wanted was a peaceful life. So… maybe you thought that it would be a great idea to leave when no one is looking. The words of a consort like you who worried about you and your relationship with the emperor. Someone you thought you grew close to and you thought didn't care much for the emperor’s love. When they told you to run away and that they would help you… you thought maybe you had a chance.

So you went, after much planning, you left the palace in the dead of night with your lover planning to run away from to a country not so far from here then the next. You didnt see gold eye peering out the window watching you leave, but if you did maybe you would have instead begged him for mercy.

But it was too late... too late as the screams of your lover still loud in your ears started to become background sound smaller and smaller as the light started to dim. You fainted there in the cold cage alone with only the cries of anguish from your lover…

Opening your eyes you squint as the light went to your eyes. The basement you have fainted in, a soft bed instead of the cold stone floor. You wondered if everything was a dream when pain shot through your body. “You should not move, you will only hurt yourself more if you do so.”

Your head snapped towards the familiar voice eye widening at who that person was. The man you feared standing right beside your bed looking down on you, the smile that used to grace your presence with was gone instead but a thin line. “Y-your majesty?!” You stuttered your voice still raw from the screaming of last night, your hands started to shiver in fear as you started to remember even more and more.

“It seems that I was too careless around you.” he takes a sit on the side of your bed, ignoring how you flinched as you tried to sit up only for him to place a hand on your shoulder pushing you back down. Placing his hands beside your head, he was on top staring down at you.

You felt trapped in the soft bed, now felt limiting instead of comfortable unable to run away. “To the point that others would try to covet what is mine.”

His words were confusing, and his stare made you hold your breath as he touched your cheek with one hand. “You were almost taken away from my arms.” He spoke “All because of jealousy and envy that consorts had for you. Where you scared my dear?”

You can't say anything, even when he asked questions his eyes dared you to speak a word. He knew… he knew of the envy that others have towards you but didn't see to do something about it. He knew that you were planning on escaping and that he already placed knights to catch you as soon as you thought you were finally free...

He was the one who sent you to the torture chamber and had you forced to watch your lover in chains whipped. It was his form of punishment, the many stories he told you already made you understand who he was.

“Don't cry, dear.” The emperor touched your face wiping the tears in your eyes that you didn't know were there. “They are not here anymore for I have removed them from the palace you are safe now.” He told you gently. “Please…” This was your first word… tears continued to form in your eyes “Please don't hurt them.” Don't kill them.

“My lover is with a heart of gold, very well then I shall give you what you want if you choose to bare half of their sins.” Zhongi spoke, more tears fell from your eyes as you covered them with your hands yet you still nodded for you already knew what he wanted.

The queen poisoned Snow before she could put it in the oven. That's the real tragedy. I've never had a gooseberry pie, but my dad has a small gooseberry bush that might produce enough for a pie some day.

Julie makes a pie in the opening of the movie while musing about how cooking brings her peace in a chaotic world. I had never had a chocolate silk pie before, but after the movie I looked up a recipe and made it. It's now one of my most requested pies at Thanksgiving. Although I like to use an oreo crust where Julie used a Graham cracker.

I binged the entire series, then found out it was cancelled, and processed to mourn for the next week. I still want to try to recreate some of their signature pies. The Kiwi Cream is so pretty.

These the first video games I ever finished (my parents banned them so I didn't get to start playing until I was older). The combat still kind of scares me, but I took to the cooking right away. On my first play through, I was so excited to get Tabantha Wheat, so I could finally make pies. Wild's era Link is so much cooler because he's a pie maker. I always keep a few egg custard tarts in my inventory for some quick hearts.

This is... actually quite correct. Oreo would, definitely say that and her brains are more holes, than actually brain.

However, I would personally compare her to a novelty TikTok recipe. The kind of ones that instruct you to boil ramen in Gatorade, marinade your chicken breasts in Nyquil and would likely cause you severe gastrointestinal kind of discomfort.

But while we are here, some fun facts about Oreo

Outside of the unfortunate amnesia incident Oreo has extraordinary memory, as many white dragons do. She won't know what to do with most of this information, but for that she has her squidness partner.

She does in fact has a small horde! It is definitely smaller than one would expect from a dragon her age, but is quite nice anyway. Oreo's preferred types of treasure are gemstones, old historical things of questionable value outside of, well, historical and, curiously enough, the kind of shiny metal contraptions you can find in something like a Steel Watcher. Explains how Gortash won her over back then.

I'll focus on Gleo here, bc god this is crazy.

She takes Lilith's role, with Melphis being in Eda's role as context

This may seem crazy given that Gleo is a complete wild child (at 54 years old.) and LOVESSS being silly and breaking the rules, while Lilith is the complete opposite until season 2, but given the character backstory it all fits! Trust!

Canon!Gleo always wanted her parents' attention, but unfortunately, they always focused more on Donna and Melphis. Similar sentiments are applied here where her parents always focused more on her other siblings, leaving her in the dust. This sentiment grows further when Donna joins the Emperor's Coven (takes the role of the Oreo Gang, lolz), with her parents getting all hyped over it and pushing their other children to also join the ranks

Gleo was willing to do it in hopes of finally getting the praise she always wanted, but Melphis was a prodigy, They were to duel each other for the position, there could only be one winner, and she knew Melphis would smoke her. So she cursed him without anyone knowing in hopes of winning the duel, not knowing the curse was Long Term, lol

Ofc Melphis forfeited instantly to let Gleo take the win bc he DIDNT wanna Be In The Coven giving her the position by default, but he's still cursed! He's still spending the rest of his life fucked over because of her! And her parents didn't even go to her damn coven initiation!!

All three siblings abandoned their bio parents to live with Ivan, with Donna (Gwendolyn's role) devoting her life to trying to cure her baby brother, Ivan (Dell's role) being severely injured by Melphis/[insert whatever type of bird Melphis would b bc i don't imagine he'd be an owl] Beast, and Melphis. Well. HIS ASS IS CURSED AND ISN'T JOINING A COVEN AND IS A CRIMINAL!! She feels immense guilt and remorse for her actions despite never admiting what she did for years. So, when the emperor (Firo) promised that Melphis could be cured if she indoctrinated him, she jumped at the opportunity

This Gleo strives to make amends in her own little way. She still makes a lot of fucked up decisions and in theory runs from them by choosing Firo's way or the highway to fix the problem, but she cares. This role shows she DOES care for her family and wants to improve, which ofc, she does here!

It's just a neat little thing for her, a scenario where she owns up to her mistakes and makes amends for the harm she caused!

Three times 😐 Actually, I thinks this is more of a statement about how our fearless commissioner has the golfing prowess of a donut ⛳ Anyway, this was a nearly perfect week for Lisa, and she's hoping the back-half of the year will follow suit, a perfect pairing, like golf and wanting to throw your clubs in a lake 💦

Sept 19, 2022: Aquapendente to Bolsena - 20.1 km, CUS 500 ft

A Pretty Easy Day

Last night, another unusual eating experience. As the restaurant in our Locanda was closed Sunday nights they arranged dinner elsewhere. We arrived just after 8 (a bit early for Italy to find 10 tables in the street that had not been there that afternoon. All were set for dinner. We were escorted to a table and spent a little over an hour eating, being looked after by three front of house staff. No other diners joined us and when two couples asked for a table, they were asked if they had a reservation. When they responded that did not there were chased away. The minute we stood up to leave, the staff started clearing all the tables and everything was gone a few minutes later. All a bit like a dream scene from a movie.

Up early to prepare our own breakfast. Based on what was left for us, we had cereal with yogurt, espresso and a huge assortment of packaged cookies (Oreos?), cakes and pastries (at least 20 different kinds) all of which had sugar as their main ingredient. After breakfast we hit the road about 7:15 through the main square and it’s huge statue of Girolamo Fabrizio. He was a local boy made good as a surgeon an anatomist in the 1500s. The town’s only other claim to fame seems to be the Galileo was stuck here in quarantine for a couple of weeks because there was plague in Tuscany (we left Tuscany yesterday and were now in Lazio). It had its positive side though as he was on his way to Rome to be tried for heresy by the Inquisition.

At about 8 km, we entered the small town (pop 3,700) of St Lorenzo Nuova. The entire town was built by Pope Pius VI in the 18th Century to house the population of the town of St Lorenzo that was suffering continuous problems with maleria. Here we found our morning cappuccino and several more large and impressive churches including St Lorenzo Martire (Martyr) in the huge octagonal central square. It often seems amazing to us that the small towns we visit can keep so many ancient building in an acceptable state of repair in a time of declining church attendance. In Aquapendente for example, we estimate that there are, at most, 500 citizens per church. This seems an absurdly low number to support such extensive infrastructure given than many probably do not attend.

Shortly after we left St Loenzo, Lake Bolsena came into view. Roughly 12km X 14km it is a 300,000 year old volcanic caldera that was most recently active (underwater) in 104 BC. For the next 12 km, we dropped to the shoreline and followed it into the town of Bolsena past a succession of campgrounds, hotels and private beaches.

On arrival, we checked into our rather nice 4* Hotel Royal, right on the lake, and popped back into the centre of town for pizza al forno, beer and gelato. We tried to visit the city hall tourist office to have our credentials stamped, but it closes at noon most of September.

Bolsena is a typical little tourist town built on a Roman town which was built after an Etruscan town was destroyed here about 264 BC. It’s most prominent feature is the Medieval fortress built in the 14th/15th during the wars of the Guelphs and the Ghibbelines factions over whether the Pope or the Emperor was the ultimate secular authority. (Oops, someone hit my history geek button, sorry about that). It appears that there is little to see at the castle beyond a one room local museum, a one room aquarium of fish found in the lake and some great views. We decided not to climb up to see it.

We all know that the Warp is a boundless ocean and that the 4 chaos gods are only a small part of them (they may be the ferocious sharks of the warp but not all.) Imagine that, there is another entity much larger and more dangerous, likened to the orca of warp (Yep, Homicidal Oreos) who always looks at every wars of Chaos and other creatures, and just hold a cup of daemon and bowl of soul popcorn, thinking "Haha, funni."

This, I am willing to accept as canon.

The War in Heaven? Just the Homicidal Oreos watching all the silly mortal shenanigans. The Horus Heresy? Just the Homicidal Oreos wanting a snack.

"Oh, look at Abaddon trying to start something! Oh, my sides! And now the Imperium's here... this is great."

The Emperor is screaming in his grave, Tzeentch and Slaanesh are laughing like hyenas, Nurgle is busy cooking, and Khorne is frothing with blood rage. Meanwhile, a Homicidal Oreo sitting on a lawn chair, enjoying every moment.

Noelle had arrived home for Christmas approximately 90 minutes ago and could already tell that something was wrong.

Her fiery baby brother was being so goddamn quiet. Pushing and teasing and playing and hair fluffing had always been how the four of them showed affection toward each other, but something in the way Logan had hugged her when she arrived had set off gentle alarm bells in her mind. He held her tighter and for longer than usual, the type of hug they shared when their grandfather needed surgery, when she had left for school, when they were children and their parents fought.

It wasn’t just that he was quieter than usual when she arrived either, it was that he stayed quiet. All afternoon. All through dinner. Most of the following day. 

They were snuggled into the couch watching The Emperor’s New Groove (‘Really?’ ‘Lolo, what makes you think this is optional? I miss you, we’re home, embrace the nostalgia, get the Oreos.’ He had rolled his eyes, but had a smile on his face) when Noelle grabbed the remote and pauses the movie.

“Ok. Out with it, Lolo.”

“Out with what?”

“Don’t ‘out with what’ me, you asshole. You have never watched this movie and stayed quiet. No ‘Cuzco’s poison’? No ‘riiiiiiight’? What’s wrong.”

She was teasing him, but also holding his hand. Logan would never admit it, but sometimes he really fucking needed one of his big sisters to hold his hand.

“Nothing’s wrong. I’m fine. Just tired with school and everything.”

He wouldn’t hold eye contact and she doubted he realized he was squeezing her hand a bit harder than he had been before.

“Bullshit, baby brother. Remember that it was me who taught you how to lie to mom and dad when you snuck out in high school, you’ve never been able to fool me.”

He kept his eyes on the TV. She could see that he was clenching his jaw, and she was in it now. She knew he was choking back the words and she couldn’t just leave him to hurt like this by himself.

She nudged him in the side a bit, trying to draw out their usual playful banter. He pushed back, but barely, and now he was scrunching up his eyebrows: the Logan equivalent of a quivering bottom lip.

“Don’t think I won’t call Finn and ask.”

Logan fucking froze.

Shit.

Shit shit shit shit shit.

Noelle hadn’t been serious, she’d been teasing with the assumption that Lo’s best friend would know what was wrong, but Lo’s reaction made her stomach drop; she had hurt him.

It was an accident, but that didn’t stop the fact that she felt it every time her brother was hurting, and the guilt of having caused it washed over her like a wave.

“Oh.”

“It’s nothing, it’s fine. We’re fine. Don’t worry about it, there’s nothing wrong.”

But he was breathing faster and clamped his mouth shut after they both caught his voice catching on ‘wrong’.

He didn’t want her to look at him, she could tell that, but he was squeezing her hand even harder now.

She moved just a bit closer and brought her other hand up to rest on his arm as well, leaning her head against him a bit, but looking forward just like him. He felt safer when there wasn’t someone looking directly at him. He always had. He also always lied about it.

“Finn.”

She let his name sit in the air for a moment.

“Did you two have a falling out?”

She could feel Logan shake his head. He let out a soft “No” but his voice was so fucking quiet, if she were any further away she might not have heard him.

This was it. She and her sisters had talked about it before when Lo was a teenager, but briefly and vaguely and each with an odd but matching sense of disloyalty. The worry outweighed it though. They had a lot in common and always had, but a fierce protectiveness for their baby brother ran through each of their hearts and would unite them forever.

“Does it seem like-?” “Do you think-?” “It doesn’t change anything, just… do you know if he’s ok?” “Don’t corner him, he’ll panic” “LOOK at him, he’s panicking already” “Let him tell us when he’s ready.” “What, just leave him by himself feeling alone? All of his fucking friends are-“ “I know.” “I think we’ll know. If the right moment comes, I think one of us will feel it.”

It was quiet. They were alone in the house. They were together under a soft blanket.

They were holding hands.

Noelle pulled Logan’s hand a bit closer and took the risk.

“Did you two break up?”

She was close enough to feel his breath catch. He flinched, his entire body tensed. She wouldn’t let go of his hand.

“I love you, it’s ok.”

Logan fucking lost it.

One second he was holding as still as if he’d been frozen, the next he seemed to curl in on himself like he’d taken a hit to the stomach. And then he was crying in a way that made it clear that he had needed to for a long time, that the tears had been right at the edge of his control and had been waiting to break through. He was sobbing like he was about to fall apart.

She curled over him, like he was falling apart and she could somehow hold him together.

“We didn’t – I mean he doesn’t — we’ve never… I can’t, we can’t, it’s not—“

“Fuck.”

That was somehow worse. There was nothing to be done about that. 

“Oh my god, Logan, fuck, hey it’s ok, it’s ok, I’ve got you, I’m here it’s ok.”

The words didn’t make sense but she couldn’t stop them as she pulled her brother toward herself, half into a hug and half into her lap.

“It feels like— I can’t, I don’t know what to do with it, it feels like I can’t breathe.” He was holding on like he was drowning.

“I know.”

“It hurts.”

“I know. I’ve got you.”

It had been years since anyone could rightly have called Logan small. He got teased for being shorter than the others, but Noelle couldn’t remember the last time he lost a fight, couldn’t remember the exact day she realized he was taller than her.

It felt like he was trying to make himself small now, though, as if the pain would shrink if he gave it less space.

She held him as tight as she could.

“He’s my— I lo—“

He couldn’t finish saying it, but she heard the words anyway.

“It hurts and I still can’t stop it.”

There was no way to know what words to say, but they came spilling out of her mouth anyway.

“You have such a big heart, Logan. It’ll work out, it’ll be ok.”

She hoped with her entire being that she wasn’t lying.

About the chinese manwha, I was reading Silent Lover. It's about a mute boy named Chen Yu that is sent to the King of Zhen Bei's palace in place of the daughter of the family he serves as a slave. He is send there as a concubine in place of the daughter because the King is know for killing the 9 concubines he had before, and the family sends him as concubine instead of Chen Ruo Fei (the daughter) to avoid that, so Chen Yu has to pretend he is a woman and tries to survive.

The manwha is not bad, it has good things as the evolution Chen Yu has across the history. But sadly at the very end the principal couple falls in the cliché of being given "roles" of "the woman" and "the men" of the relationship, being both of them males, and it also romanticized a bit the abusive relationship of Chen Yu and the emperor. But like I said before, not everything was bad. Because the art was just, oOOOOF. BEAUTIFUL.

THE ART WAS SOMETHING I LOVED A LOT, AND THE CHARACTER DESIGNS AS WELL. Now I'm going to read a Thousand autumns. So i'm going to prepare my tears.

Dream says this with bitterness cause their past together was turbulent (running away from Nightmare, quarrels, Dream's corruption, etc.), and they just didn't have enough time and opportunities to spend it enjoying each other calmly.

Real life has come, then family, and their time is running out. So Cross invites Dream to do things they couldn't do back then (like eating nice cream in Undertale? Why not? ;D) But they only have time until the morning — they have too little options to spend this night outside, in the Multiverse, unique and unforgettable.

Dream summons a staff and opens a portal [white background]: he asks the birthday boy to make a wish — to choose where he wants to be and what he wants to do. (His magic is fueled by positive emotions, guess it's gonna be something exciting~ (spoiler: there'll be another episode, in Underlust) ☆

Yep! I had fun with my family last weekend, hope to have fun with my friends too when they get well <3

Headcanon time!

It's more of a personal headcanon but I was looking at Antarctica on google maps to look for a potential island that looks like club penguin and...I found it.

Its between Alexander island (the big one) Rothschild island (the second biggest) and charcot (the third biggest)

I headcanon the place with the dot to be club penguin

It's a pretty small isle with a tiny iceberg near by, in my opinion its perfect! And the big island near by occasionally gets emperor penguins so hey, emperor penguin town close by!

Though they're mostly young adults/teens who have decided to go adventuring in groups and they will occasionally visit club penguin on their adventures, some even staying behind
