The cold seeped into Nathan Landry’s bones, leeching the warmth from his body as he walked from the prosecuting attorney’s office to his car. Not even the gloves and wool pea coat he wore worked to keep him warm. Curse Chicago and the dampness blowing from the river, making snow drifts pile up on frozen sidewalks and against stone and brick facades of buildings.

He hated the snow. All he wanted to do was steal you away and snuggle against you in your apartment on Magnificent Mile, the electric fireplace running as he held you against his broad chest, forgetting the world and the many things that kept you away from him, that kept him away from you. He could almost feel your smooth skin under his fingertips, could almost feel the way your muscles trembled with each soft pass. He craved it. He craved all the little sounds he could pull from you.

In the still silence of the city blanketed in winter, he sighed. He pretended he could hear it reverberate against the buildings he fiddled with his car keys. Once inside, he turned the heat on, unbuttoning his coat and immediately reaching for his cell phone to call you. He needed something. He needed to hear you.

“Hello?” you answer lowly after stepping out of a meeting.

“When can I see you?” He asked automatically, unable to resist the pull of your honey smooth voice.

“Nathan–”

“Can I see you now?” He pressed, starting the car with the intention of going to pick you up from work.

“I’m at work.”

“I don’t care,” he growled.

You shifted where you stood, that growl running over you and sending a surge of pleasure straight between your thighs. Nathan so rarely gave himself over to you like that. He preferred to be controlled in his attentions, his voice and demeanor even. While he tended toward a touch of flamboyance in the courtroom, everything else in his life was measured. For him to be growling out words like that, something had to have happened in court that day.

You knew better than to ask.

“I’m in the middle of a meeting,” you whined softly, desire aching all through your body.

“Say you’re sick.”

“Nathan–”

“I mean it, mija,” he pleaded sharply.

He was already pulling down the street where your work building sat, towering tall, all sleek glass and stainless steel–a new law firm, a new thorn in his side, but that didn’t apply to you. It could never apply to you.

“How far are you away?”

“A block. Be downstairs.”

He hung up sharply. You took a breath, hoping your cheeks didn’t look as pink as they felt, as you abandoned the meeting. You’d take your chances with the senior partners later. Right now, pure heat and lust drove your every movement, hoping that he’d at least need you enough to touch you in the car on the way home.

You made it downstairs right as you saw his sleek navy blue Mercedes pull up in front of the doors. You couldn’t possibly make your feet move any faster. If you tried, you’d be practically running from the building. That would be sure to raise eyebrows if you’d done that.

As soon as you slid into the passenger seat of his car, his soft lips smoothed over your jaw, settling just under your ear, his warm breath tickling your chilled skin, sending shivers down your spine and arousal straight to your core.

“Nathan…” you whined softly.

“Soon, mija,” he murmured huskily, his voice dripping lust straight through you. But even as he was saying “soon,” his hand skimmed up your inner thigh, seeking the heat and wetness at the apex, fingers settling and pressing against you through your underwear and pantyhose.

"I look forward to it"

Rating: T Words: 562 Nathan Landry x f!reader Nathan is arrogant and so much better than you. That doesn't mean you don't like what you see.

Yeah, I'm enjoying these things. Yeah, they're outta order. Yeah, no one's reading them. It's fine. It's for me, anyway.

The first time you saw Nathan, you didn’t know what to think about him. His sharp cheekbones and prominent nose made him seem aloof and pretentious as all hell. His chocolate eyes shone cold under the LED lights of the courtroom. You remember the shiver that ran through your body when they unwittingly locked eyes with yours during closing arguments of the case he was prosecuting. You couldn’t tell if it was a shiver of fear or of arousal. Not that you cared either way, because those eyes could stare at you all day. You’d be perfectly okay with that.

The second time you saw Nathan, you couldn’t take your gaze off of him. The supple gray fabric of his tailored Italian suit puckered a bit over his impossibly broad shoulders. Christ, he was handsome. Yes, your first judgements of him still stood. His demeanor screamed “I’m so much better than you” and maybe he was. You wouldn’t put it past him. There he was: assistant district attorney. Making good money, more than you could ever hope to make. What were you? You were nothing but a junior associate, fetching coffee in heels that pinched your toes and left blisters on your heels, scribbling notes hurriedly in meetings like they would ultimately mean something, but they never did.

Despite all of that, though, you couldn’t deny that despite your very different positions in life, you felt a pull to him. You wanted to brush your fingers over his skin and pick him apart at the seams. You wanted to soothe the crease at his brow and trace the lines of his sinfully tapered hips. You craved the lithe weight of him over your body, those arms framing you, your touch dragging over his muscles and up his neck. God, you want it. Want him.

The third time you saw Nathan, you finally properly met him, and you knew as soon as he said your name, you were a goner. His smooth, honeyed voice–low, measured, impeccable in its elocution–sent heat sliding down your spine straight to your core. If he knew, he didn’t say anything, but you were pretty sure you saw him smirk like he did.

Oh.

He wanted you too. You didn’t know why. Your mind kept going back to your clothes, how they weren’t fancy like his. But for some reason none of that mattered. You remember looking down at yourself after the smirk, taking in the swell of your breasts and anything else you could appraise quickly. You didn’t think of yourself as pretty, but maybe you were.

“Did you just graduate law school?” He asked curiously, watching you intently with those dark coffee eyes.

Somehow, you managed to find your voice. “About two months ago.”

“And you’re already on the wrong side,” he said smuggly.

You chuckle. “Give me time.”

He leaned forward then, hands in his pockets, as he whispered, “I look forward to it.”

You swallowed thickly, holding his gaze for a beat longer than necessary before he turned to go through the doors into the courtroom. For a moment, you couldn’t breathe, but you managed to compose yourself before slipping inside to watch his opening arguments. Even from the back of the courtroom, you swear you see his gaze slide over you, almost wanton in its desire, but… you can’t be too sure… can you?
