Month One
Everyone was still excited about Faye and Wonwoo, but the excitement started to die down as school picked up for everyone. You tried to focus on your studies more to distract from the secret that you only told Faye about, but you knew your mates would pick up on it soon. They were both becoming highly territorial, even snapping at each other.
At first, nobody said anything about Junhui and Minghao bickering and growling at each other. They thought maybe it was pre/post mating season stuff. But when it happened for a whole month, everyone was starting to get fed up with it, demanding to know what their issue was. Neither of them knew, and they still just thought the odd thing their instincts picked up on was Faye.
-
Month Two
You didn’t know when morning sickness would pick up, but you never got it, surprisingly. You were thankful since you hated the feeling of throwing up, but you felt bad for Faye, who was getting sick left and right. You tried to help her as much as you could since she was keeping your secret to herself.
“You have to tell them,” she advised one morning while you were holding her hair back since Wonwoo was downstairs making breakfast before class. “They have to know; it’s been two months, _____.”
You knew you’d start showing soon, so you knew you’d have to tell them before it happened, so you just nodded.
“I will,” you promised quietly, though your hands were shaking now.
-
Month Three
You finally decided to tell them while your body still looked mostly the same. You sat both of your mates down one night, standing in front of them. Minghao looked nervous just from picking up on your body language, and Junhui just seemed confused.
“Love, just sit with us,” Minghao frowned.
You shook your head, “Hao, please just…listen for a minute.”
He sighed, but nodded for you to continue.
You inhaled deeply, held it, and exhaled slowly.
At the last minute, you chickened out, holding your head in your hands, “Ah, you’re going to hate me…”
“Baby, we could never hate you,” Junhui frowned, reaching out to take your hand from your head.
“It’s alright, _____, just tell us what’s wrong,” Minghao cooed, reaching for your other hand and holding it in both of his.
One hand in Junhui’s, and one hand in Minghao’s, you slowly lifted your head, your eyes glancing between the two pairs studying you. You chewed on your lower lip, knowing they’d be upset that you kept this from them for almost three months, but you had to do it now. You’d dug this hole for yourself, you shouldn’t make it any deeper.
“I’m…” you paused, barely able to choke out the word in a whisper, “pregnant…”
Minghao’s eyes widened, leaning back a bit but still holding onto your hand. Junhui leaned forward, looking confused like he didn’t hear you. But you know he heard you.
“Wait…what?” Jun asked.
“It’s why you guys are at each other’s throats,” you frowned, bowing your head again, “and I should’ve told you when I found out, but I–”
“When did you find out?” Minghao interrupted.
“…A little over two months ago,” you admitted timidly.
“Holy shit,” Junhui breathed, staring off into space as he took all of this in.
Minghao frowned, standing up and getting very close to you, “Love, why didn’t you tell us?”
“I was afraid,” you told him, your lower lip quivering as your eyes started to fill with tears. Your voice broke the more you talked about it. “I have two mates, and there can only be one father, and I-- I didn’t want either of you to be mad at me or the other one.”
Minghao frowned, letting go of your hand to pull you into his chest. Jun still held your hand, running the pad of his thumb over your knuckles as he was deep in thought.
“_____, neither of us will ever be mad at you, okay?” he promised, stroking your hair with one hand, and rubbing your back with the other. “This is not your fault.”
Your free hand held onto your younger mate tightly, your tears soaking into his shirt, “I-it’s not?”
“No,” he chuckled, pulling away to cup your face, “how could it be? It takes two people to make a baby, silly.”
Junhui suddenly looked up like he was brought back to the present, “But who’s the second one who made the baby?”
Him and Minghao made eye contact with each other, unsure what to say next. While neither of them were upset with you, they felt a little hostile toward each other. Both of them wanted the baby to be theirs – it would be the first baby you’d have, and they both wanted to be the first – so they just stared at each other in a tense silence.
They promised to never be mad at you, but neither of them said anything about each other.
-
“It’s easy,” Joshua promised as he rolled up your sleeve.
After one of your classes, you dropped by the medical building to see one of the two pack doctors. With Joshua’s knowledge of the medical field, and his access to the medical building, he was the one that would be performing the paternity test -- Aya was unwilling to get dragged into the middle of the drama. You decided to just get it over with, wanting to know who was the father before the baby was born. It was best to rip off the band-aid, as Joshua advised.
“Needles aren’t easy,” you mumbled, noticing the needle he had prepped just a moment ago.
“I have to draw blood, but it doesn’t hurt,” Joshua chuckled before prepping your arm. “When are dumb and dumber showing up?”
“Hao’s coming during his break, and Jun stayed home today, so soon,” you assumed, watching Joshua up until he had to put the needle in your arm.
You had a tiny bump that was easily hidden by sweatshirts and any baggy, thick shirt. Faye was a little farther along, and all she wore were sweatshirts, so at least that made you feel a little less weird about only wearing baggy things. It made you feel a little better knowing there was somebody going through this with you, but Faye didn’t have to worry about who the father was and one of her mates being upset if it wasn’t them.
“Are you going to find out the sex beforehand?” Joshua wondered to distract you from the needle.
“I don’t know,” you told him. “Minghao said he’d want it to be a surprise, but Jun said he wants to know. Jun can sometimes be a blabbermouth, though, so… I guess it depends on who the father is. If it’s Hao, I won’t find out; if it’s Jun, I will.”
“Who do you think it is?” Joshua smirked, pulling over a rolling chair and sitting down across from you.
You turned to look at the older boy, chewing your cheek as you thought, “Can’t werewolves sense who it is?”
“No, we can only sense that the person is pregnant,” he shrugged. “We’re not that good. We can tell who you have sex with because their scent is all over you, but that’s about it. We can’t tell you whose DNA is inside you.
“But I will say,” he continued as he messed with a few things on the counter, “that it’s not impossible to get pregnant by two people at the same time, but it’s a long shot.”
“How does that happen?” you asked.
“Two uteruses,” he replied as he organized the tools, his brows furrowed slightly. “You are, essentially, made for Jun and Minghao, so it wouldn’t be too far off to assume, but that’s still rare.”
You frowned, “I think having a second uterus is somehow scarier than dealing with a pouty werewolf.”
Joshua laughed, nodding in agreement, “Alright, yeah, that does sound pretty scary.”
It seemed like eons until your mates showed up. Somehow, they arrived at the same time, and you could already hear them bickering from down the hall. It seemed the more time that passed, the more protective your mates got. The bigger the baby got, the more possessive they grew. Wonwoo was the same way, though, so it’s not like it was strange. It just took some getting used to.
But they stopped when they walked into the room and saw you with the needle sticking out of your arm, and Junhui scrunched up his nose in disgust.
“Do we have to do that?” he asked.
Joshua sighed, “No, Jun.”
All Joshua had to do was swab the insides of their cheeks, and then he’d compare the DNA. It would take some time, but you still wanted to just get it done. Joshua and Aya were becoming the go-to doctors for you and Faye since finding a doctor who dealt with werewolves was hard to come by -- except Aya’s mom, but she was hard to book with.
“I’d really prefer my brother didn’t have to look at my mate’s vagina, though,” Wonwoo had huffed one night when the pack were talking about it.
“I don’t want my brother looking at it either, but beggars can’t be choosers,” Faye pointed out.
“How do you think I feel?!” Joshua had exclaimed.
The good news was that Joshua would have graduated before either of you were supposed to give birth -- though he’d have to go to another school after this -- and he was already doing an apprenticeship alongside Aya, working under Aya’s mom. The bad news was that he was your brother, and you really didn’t want your brother having to deliver your baby. But Aya’s mother worked at the same hospital, and Aya promised that she could get her mother to help out then, at least.
Your mates let Joshua gather DNA without a problem, and the fact they had to keep their mouths open – even if it was a short amount of time – kept them from bickering. It wasn’t even anything significant they were arguing over; they argued just to argue.
He then took the needle from your arm, gave you a little band-aid, and sent you off with your mates. Since you had no more classes, Junhui drove you home while Minghao went back to class.
Now, all you had to do was wait.
-
It felt like such a long time when the results came back. You had been studying in the living room all day while Minghao was at work and Junhui was at school. You and Hansol were practicing your Mandarin since you decided to take classes together with Joshua, so the two of you were sitting near the coffee table together – you on the couch, and him on the other side of the table on the floor.
“Why the fuck does Mandarin make noises I’ve never had to make in my life?” Hansol asked as he scribbled on blank flashcards.
You laughed softly, jotting down in the workbook you were given, “I’m not the person to be asking.”
“Do you think your baby will learn Mandarin before you do?” Hansol wondered, looking up from his work.
You shrugged, dropping your pencil into the book and running a hand through your hair, “I hope not. For all I know, they’ll teach our kid bad words in Mandarin and I won’t know.”
“Minghao will teach it how to be polite and smooth,” Hansol decided, “while Junhui will teach it how to insult every single one of us without us knowing.”
You giggled, already knowing that was true, “Jun would teach it how to tell me off, and I wouldn’t even know.”
“Nah, Jun would hate having his child disrespect it’s mother.”
“You do remember how Junhui confessed to me, right?”
Hansol paused to think about it before nodding, “Okay, you might be right.”
Hansol suddenly looked to the door, but you didn’t hear anything until it opened, and you heard Joshua, Seungcheol, and Eunmi talking. The front door closed and the voices got louder as they approached the living room. Then you heard a crunch and realized it was Faye.
Faye craved pickles, like most pregnant women. However, she craved them with other things, which was strange She craved pickles with peanut butter, pickles with mac n cheese, pickles on pizza, just straight-up pickle juice – she was really addicted to pickles. But Joshua kept reprimanding her because she was pregnant and had to stick to a very strict diet. Thus, everyone in the pack started trying to keep pickles away from the tallest mate, but she always found them, even if she had to buy them at school.
So in walked Faye, carrying a packaged pickle in one hand, and a bar of chocolate in the other. You just giggled at her, and she shrugged.
Hansol said something to her in English that you didn’t quiet catch, and Faye just stuck her tongue out at him and went to take another bite of her pickle. That was when Seungcheol snatched it from her before handing it off to Eunmi, who bolted down the hall toward the kitchen. Faye looked down at her empty hand, sighed, and bit into her chocolate bar.
“Anyway,” Joshua continued, leading the girl to go sit down on the couch by you, “I got the results today. I’m sorry it took a little longer; I was swamped with work since graduation is this year and– Actually, you don’t care. Are you ready?”
Your eyes widened, barely catching Joshua’s words through his babbling. He knew who the dad was? Now? Already?
“Shouldn’t we wait for–”
The door was flung open before shutting loudly, footsteps racing down the hallway until Jun and Minghao appeared in the doorway of the living room. Both of them looked like they’d run straight from their respective locations, and you wouldn’t put it past them, either.
“I texted them,” Joshua smirked. “Alright, come sit down, you two.”
Junhao plopped himself down between you and Faye while Minghao sat on your other side. Both of them took one of your hands, their golden eyes trained on Joshua. They didn’t even bat an eye as Eunmi ran into the room to hear the announcement, sitting herself on the floor by Seungcheol’s feet.
Josh took a seat on the coffee table, facing both of you, “Ready?”
Minghao nodded eagerly, but you and Jun just stared at Josh. You didn’t know if Jun or Minghao looked excited, nervous, or somewhere in between because you couldn’t look away from Joshua.
This was it.
“It’s Minghao’s.”
While the grip on your right hand tightened, you could feel the one holding your left loosen, even if it was just a little. Minghao was laughing with glee beside you, looking to you as he expected you to be excited. However, you were looking at Jun as his jaw clenched and his golden eyes started to glint darker.
Everybody noticed the shift. Eunmi immediately stood as Seungcheol went over to remove Faye from the situation, putting her behind him and the smaller mate. Joshua leaned toward Jun, putting a hand on his knee.
“Junhui…” Joshua’s voice was a soft warning.
“Seriously?” Jun asked. Despite looking like he was getting angrier, his voice sounded broken and defeated.
“Junhu--”
He whipped his head around to you, his red eyes filling with tears, “Minghao’s younger! He’s the one who imprinted second, and yet he gets to have a baby with you first?!”
“Junhui, nobody could control that,” Seungcheol stated, trying to calm him down, afraid his emotions could make him become aggressive.
Junhui was never one to get very angry -- usually it was Minghao, but even then, it was more of an annoyance with things than anger. But they knew what he was capable of considering his instincts. You also kept that in the back of your head -- not that you thought he’d hurt you, but you knew his instincts could get the best of him in a time like this.
“Yes, we could!” he insisted as he stood suddenly, gesturing to Minghao. “If he didn’t imprint on her–”
“Jun, he can’t control that either,” you spoke up, though your voice was soft and timid.
Junhui looked down at you before his glare flickered to the younger wolf instead, “Then when he confessed, you should’ve told him-- You should’ve-- I don’t know!”
Minghao growled lowly in response, averting his gaze from the older wolf. Junhui still heard the growl though and growled louder in a way to establish his dominance over the younger one.
You weren’t going to let them act like this, though. You stood up, though Minghao still kept his hands on your waist – something Jun didn’t like. You sized up to your mate, and Joshua’s eyes widened, standing up as well.
“Told him what?” you asked, frowning up at your mate. “Told him no? You’d rather have your brother die than this?”
“No, I didn’t say that!” he whined. “I’m saying, this isn’t fair!”
Jun knew he didn’t want Minghao dead – he was his brother, and the one he was closest to in the pack because they came from the same place and shared a mate – but he was too angry to say anything else. Instead, he let out a whine like he’d been kicked, and stalked out of the room, his head bowed.
Seungcheol and Eunmi relaxed, and Joshua sat back on the coffee table, running his hands through his hair. Minghao pulled you back down, sitting you in his lap as he cuddled you. You didn’t cry or say anything, but he could tell you were upset. He knew you hated when him and Jun fought, and he knew you hated even more when you had to put yourself in the middle of the situation. Plus, the last thing you needed was stress, especially when it could hurt the baby.
“I’m sorry,” Minghao mumbled, resting his chin on your shoulder. “I wish this was happier for you.”
“I am happy,” you promised, turning to look at him. You pressed a soft kiss to the button of his nose, making the younger wolf smile and hum contently. “I couldn’t be more happy to be having a baby with you, love.”
At that, Minghao smiled brightly and buried his face in your neck out of embarrassment. Of course, the older pack members began teasing him, including the two mates. Hansol joined in just to break the awkward feeling in the room. You had even forgot the younger one was there, but he knew everyone else had it handled. Hansol figured more people intervening would just stress Jun out more.
Suddenly, Junhui stomped back into the living room. Faye grabbed onto Seungcheol’s arm as the angry werewolf passed by them and sat down next to you, putting a hand on your knee.
Joshua opened his mouth to say something, but Jun cut him off.
Despite the tears that had clearly escaped and slid down his cheeks, Junhui slumped back into the couch and sniffled, angrily wiping the tears away with his other arm.
But he wouldn’t say anything.
-
Junhui seemed constantly unhappy. You weren’t sure what emotion it was that he was feeling, or what combination of them. He would only speak in mumbles, grumbles, or growls at all times. He refused to speak to Minghao, and even though he always stuck by you – he always had a hand on you, too – you could tell he was upset even then. Jun didn’t like that it was Minghao’s baby inside you instead of his own, but he couldn’t fight his instincts. It didn’t matter how angry Junhui was, he had to be near you and he had to help you.
Despite his sulkiness, he still helped you get dressed, put on shoes, go shopping, etcetera. He even went to look at baby items with you, wordlessly throwing things into the cart that he either knew you needed or thought was cute.
You and Minghao had also been tossing baby names back and forth. Since you belonged to two different cultures, he thought it would be best to give them two names. Bomi bluntly told you that was too much, but Minghao told her to let the two of you decide for yourselves.
For a boy, Minghao liked the name Kaimin, and the name Yating for a girl.
You, however, liked Junwon and Eunyeong respectfully.
You had recalled that Junhui had told you once before that if he had a son, he’d name him Kai, so you decided you liked the name. But you were still fighting Minghao on the names, anyway.
“Junwon doesn’t roll off the tongue like Kaimin does,” Minghao pointed out as you laid in bed one night. “And Eunyeong is so long spelled out phonetically.”
“Oh, and Minghao isn’t?” you scoffed.
“Xu Kaimin and Xu Yating just sound better,” he nodded. “They flow easy.”
“Xu Eunyeong is still pretty,” you pouted.
“But can we agree on Xu Kaimin, at least?”
“Talk to me in the morning and we’ll see.”
Jun, who you thought was asleep on your other side, mumbled, “It should be Wen...”
But despite Junhui’s sometimes petty tendencies, he went to every doctors visit. Sometimes, Minghao would be late due to work or school, but Junhui always insisted on going. He’d hold your hand tightly, but he usually didn’t show much emotion, even when the ultrasounds came up.
But then the day came when you went into the hospital while Joshua was working for an ultrasound. Junhui had driven you, along with Faye and Wonwoo, who also had an appointment with Josh and Aya’s mom. Minghao was getting off work early to meet you, so you knew he’d be there soon.
Faye was crunching on carrot sticks as the four of you rode the elevator up to the correct floor. Junhui stayed silent as he usually did, but kept your hand securely in his as he watched the numbers tick above the door. Once it opened, he brought you straight to the room, where the two doctors – if Josh even counted as a doctor – and Minghao were already waiting.
“How’d you get here?” Wonwoo asked the younger wolf.
“I got off extra early,” he shrugged before pressing a kiss to your forehead. “How do you feel?”
“Fine,” you replied.
“You know the drill, _____,” Joshua said, gesturing to the bed.
Jun let go of your hand so you could climb onto the bed and pull your shirt up. Aya’s mom supervised while Joshua prepped everything so he could get the practice in. You didn’t mind the gel even though it wasn’t the nicest feeling, but Faye hated the coldness.
Jun stood on one side of you with Minghao on the other. Both doctors always made sure to not mention the gender, so you wouldn’t have to worry about knowing. But since you were farther along, the two could see things on the screen more clearly than they could at your other appointments.
“Dr. Moon?” Joshua looked over to Aya’s mom as he looked at the screen that showed off the baby growing inside your stomach. “…What…is this?”
Your eyes widened at his question. Minghao squeezed your hand from nerves, and Junhui leaned forward like he could somehow tell what was on the screen.
“Don’t wanna hear that question...” Wonwoo commented under his breath.
“What’s what?” Junhui asked, sounding concerned, which you didn’t expect from him. He seemed very ‘I don’t care’ about this, except when it came to your health.
Aya’s mother moved over to take a look. She hummed to herself, tilting her head slightly to one side as she studied the screen, taking over Joshua’s hand to move the ultrasound around herself.
“Well...” she finally began, “I believe it’s two.”
“Two?” you repeated, resisting the urge to jolt up and look at the screen yourself. “You mean…?”
“It’s a little hard to tell, but,” Dr. Moon continued, still moving the gel around on your belly to get a better look, but she still couldn’t seem to make too much sense of anything, “it looks like twins to me.”
“Twins?” you cried, both hands squeezing your mates’ for dear life.
Joshua turned his head, his professional façade breaking as he started to laugh, “Holy shit.”
“Jesus Christ, Hao, what did you do to her?” Faye asked.
“It gets a bit tricky to see so much in a small space,” Dr. Moon shrugged, letting Joshua take over once more as she turned to face you. “But I can see two heads, four arms, four legs, etcetera.”
You heard a low growl coming from Jun. You looked over at him, but he didn’t storm out. In fact, he didn’t do much of anything. He just stood there, glaring at the screen as silent tears slid down his cheeks. He didn’t move to wipe them, either. He just glowered at the ultrasound screen, wondering why he got the shitty end of the stick.
His growl turned into a soft whine that broke your heart. You wanted to pull him closer to you and hold him. You wanted things to be fair, but that wasn’t how things worked. All you could do was watch him as your own eyes filled with tears. You’d never seen Junhui cry – maybe once or twice before, but he’d leave the room – but he was just crying without making any noise other than the quiet whines and whimpers in his chest.
Junhui didn’t want to leave your side, but he didn’t want to sit here and listen to this. He didn’t understand why the universe hated him. He didn’t understand why he had to share his mate with someone else, when everyone in the house got theirs to themselves. He didn’t understand why he didn’t even get to mark you first, and now he couldn’t even have a baby with you first. It wasn’t that he necessarily hated his brother or wanted him to get rejected and die, he didn’t understand why Minghao got two, and he got nothing. And all he could do about it was just stand there and take it.
“Jun…” your voice was quiet, barely even heard by the two humans in the room, but your mate heard it loud and clear.
Junhui’s gaze stayed on the monitor, his brown eyes starting to flicker red through his contacts. You just barely heard his words, and you knew they weren’t aimed at you -- if the target was Minghao or the fetuses growing inside you, you weren’t sure -- but they still hurt to hear. Even after he had left the room, not even stomping or dragging his feet like he usually did. He just…left. His shoulders hunched, and his head hung as he went. Even after he was down the hall, all you heard were his quiet words.
“You ruined my life.”

“gyu, i swear to god if you get drunk i’m not carrying you back to your hotel.”
mingyu laughs, loud and unrestrained, his head thrown back and his eyes screwed shut, and it hits you just how much you missed the sound. or really, just how much you missed him. you tilt your head to the side, a small smile creeping up the corners of your mouth as you take a sip of your drink.
“it wouldn’t be the first time.” he speaks through his chuckles, shaking his head, and his eyes meet yours. for a moment, you have the same thought, and he’s the one to actually say it out loud. “this is nice.”
and it really is.
there was once a time when you couldn’t even imagine being in the same room as him, just the two of you, laughing like there hadn’t been years of shared history between the two of you. for a second, a memory flashes across your mind; the feeling of his arm slung across your shoulders, his alcohol laced breath mixing in with his cologne, muttering a drunken string of words that you couldn’t quite make out.
and you look at the mingyu in front of you, cheeks flushed and a look of complete contentment now settled on his features.
“crazy how life just,” you pause, and eventually sigh out- “works out, huh?”
under the pale moonlight, in a city both of you are relatively unfamiliar with, mingyu has never felt closer to you than he does now. strangely enough, it all feels right. he nods, “crazy. everything that happened had to have happened.”
a silence settles between the two of you, but not tense nor uncomfortable, as memories of the last couple of years, and eventually the last couple of months, fill both your senses. mingyu scans your face, noting for any signs of unease from being with him.
mingyu finds none, which makes him let out a breath of relief.
cutting through the silence, you ask a question you’ve been meaning to ask him for a while.
“are you happy, gyu?”
you didn’t mean for the question to be so loaded but, in a way,  you only knew so much. you saw him every now and then, when he came to visit you, jeonghan, vernon, and soonyoung for a couple of days. you saw his instagram stories and twitter posts, travelling around the world, meeting new people, walking runways, booking several editorials.
“i am.” he lets out a breath and you see the tension in his shoulders fall, looking up to the clear night sky then back at you. “god it feels good to finally say that out loud, and actually mean it. you know?”
you blink back at him for a couple of seconds, it seemed like it was something he was just acknowledging himself, but a smile spreads across your face. “i’m so happy for you.”
and you mean it, with every fiber of your being.
just like that, you notice how much he has changed since your college days. gone is the tense, hesitant mingyu that you had once come to know. the one that lied on the other side of your bed in your apartment in new york, the one with the permanent crease between his brows. you see him now, calm and confident, and secure in himself. you had caught glimpses of it before, but now it radiates through him, engulfing you in his light.
“you seeing someone?” the words tumble out of your lips before you couldn’t even process them. curiosity got the better of you, and before you could take it back he simply shakes his head.
“ah no, i go on dates sometimes, but nothing that ever really lasted.”
you nod, and mingyu continues.
“and that’s okay, you know? i’ve just been doing eyes, heart, and arms wide open. being honest with myself and what it really is what i want, whether it’s in my professional or personal life. if things don’t work out, at least i can say i did my best. it took a while for it to feel sincere, and not like i’m just forcing myself to do it for the sake of it, but i’m happy with myself.”
his voice grows softer as he ends his little ramble, and you part your lips to tell him that you’re proud of him, but he beats you to the punch.
“you taught me that, you know?” he smiles, “i mean, if we hadn’t gone through what we did- not like i’m saying that you were in my life just for a lesson because i really do value you as a friend, and as a person-”
“no, i- i get it, gyu.” you cut off his rambling with a quiet laugh, noticing his eyes become bigger and more panicked.
he lets out an exaggerated breath of relief and holds a hand over his heart. “what about you, yn? are you happy?”
your mind briefly flashes to reuniting with your maple drive friends, to the friends you’ve made at work, being able to see jeonghan, soonyoung, and hansol more often, to the shoots you’ve done and the work you’ve accomplished.
from all the stress you’ve gone through from moving so far away from home, from struggling to book shoots when you were freelancing after graduated, to where you are now.
a wave of peace washes over you, and you think of tea in the mornings and farmer’s market runs in the afternoon and impromptu shoots at night.
mingyu didn’t near to hear your answer, he simply just knew.
he silently raises his glass and you do the same, clinking them together and downing the rest of your drinks.
“continue to live well, yn.” he says gently, sincerely, looking right into your eyes so you knew he meant every word.
you reach out a hand across the table rest your hand atop mingyu’s, “you too.”
he glances at his watch and notices the time, “i should get you back to jihoon, he was already hesitant to let you go with me since you’ve got an early flight tomorrow.”
mingyu settles the tab, ignoring your insistence to pay your share, and you walk back towards your hotel. your shoulder brushes against his, and it doesn’t make his heart flutter in the way it used to. it simply reminds him that you’re still there, walking next to him, and for all his shortcomings, you were still in his life.
if anything, he was simply just grateful.
even more so when you wrap your arms around him before entering the elevator, hugging him tighter as you whispered, “i’ll see you soon.”
mingyu’s lips stretch into a grin as he waves goodbye and the elevator doors close, “i’ll see you soon.”

from reese, with love <3
oh yngyu.... ngl i choked up a lil writing that "i'll see you soon" aaaah they are so dear to me. at first i didn't know if i wanted to give gyu the seokmin treatment and give him a potential new partner, but if there's something i want you guys to takeaway from this, it's that romantic love isn't the be all-end all. if you happen to find it, wonderful! bec romantic love is a wonderful thing! but finding love within yourself, the company you keep, and the work you do is just as wonderful- and i'm glad this version of mingyu gets to have that :)
thank you for reading! asks/rbs/replies are always appreciated, i'd love to know what you think <3 hope you're all doing well!

Tumblr media
✧ CEO JEON WONWOO ☑
Don't Tell The Boss. [SMUT]  (31k+ words)
Lawyer!reader, Seungcheol’s sister!reader x CEO Jeon Wonwoo ~ You were off limits. Seungcheol had made that absolutely clear from the very start. Wonwoo knew that, the other CEOs did and even you were aware of that fact. But when Wonwoo is tasked to fill in for Seungcheol during his monthly legal consult, he certainly didn’t think that you’d be there, his best friend’s sister, the one person he wasn’t allowed to get close to. Then why did he suddenly find himself asking you out? And why did you say yes?
Tumblr media
✧ MANAGING CEO CHOI SEUNGCHEOL ✍
Melon Pang! — PART ONE ☑ (32k+ words)
Barista!reader x CEO Choi Seungcheol ~ The last thing Seungcheol expected was to argue with a random stranger in a bakery after an awfully stressful day. But how could he not when this person was about to take the last melon pan? You were in a similar position. Your boss had been nagging you non-stop at work and all you wanted was your favorite snack, followed by a movie marathon on the couch. Instead, you find yourself having to deal with this stubborn guy who thinks the whole world is his.
Tumblr media
✧ CEO XU MINGHAO ✖
IT expert!reader x CEO Xu Minghao ~ As part of his evening routine, Minghao always went on a run to clear his mind and most importantly, escape the two bodyguards that he was stuck with nearly 24/7. That’s when he encounters you, being harassed by a pair of nasty-looking men that seemed to want something from you. And with a reputation like his, he couldn’t just idly stand by. You, on the other hand, were just trying to get home after your late-night shift. But you didn’t anticipate being ambushed by these scary men, and you definitely didn’t anticipate a stranger coming to your rescue.
Tumblr media
✧ CEO CHOI HANSOL ✖
Vet!reader x CEO Choi Hansol ~ Vernon and you had been good friends even before SEVENTEEN World was first established. Together, you worked at the animal shelter, with you being the local vet. So, when he became CEO, he asked you to join him at the rescue center, and you saw no reason to refuse such a good offer. As the two of you grow closer due to the nature of your jobs, slowly but surely, Vernon starts to realize that what he feels for you is more than just friendship. However, there is one little thing: you’re engaged. And from what Vernon has seen, the guy is a complete ass. How will he convince you that you’re making a mistake? Or maybe he doesn’t even have to…
Tumblr media
✧ CEO KWON SOONYOUNG ✖
Dancer!reader x CEO Kwon Soonyoung ~ There are times when Soonyoung just wants to dance without feeling like he’s constantly being watched. That’s why he has been frequenting a small private dance studio, where he rents a room when he needs to be alone. It just so happens that you also frequent the place for similar reasons. An unfortunate event causes the two of you to meet and from that moment, the both of you start to form a friendship. Well, you’re not sure if you can call it a real friendship when the man who supposedly saved your life doesn’t even dare to show you his face. Who the hell is he and why is he so set on trying to keep his identity a secret from you?
Tumblr media
✧ CEO HONG JISOO ✖
Linguist!reader x CEO Hong Jisoo ~ With his busy schedule, it isn’t often that Joshua is able to give seminars. So when a spot opens up in his calendar, he decides to teach a summer course for any students or researchers interested in the history of language. You, a linguist at heart, were planning to travel to South Korea for a few months to explore the culture and the language in particular. Once you hear about Language Lab SEVENTEEN and the summer course given by the CEO himself, you can’t help but sign up for it. There, Joshua encounters you, a woman who is not afraid to tell him when he is wrong, even if it’s in the middle of a packed lecture hall. He knows he’s not supposed to get involved with his students, but you’ve caught his attention and now he can’t stop thinking about you.
Tumblr media
✧ CEO LEE CHAN ✖
Photographer!reader x CEO Lee Chan ~ Chan first met you when he was out on a walk and you were wandering through the city, looking for interesting things to photograph. The two of you hit it off almost immediately and it didn’t take long before the two of you started dating. But when a picture of the two of you appears in the media, you suddenly find yourself living your worst nightmare: at the center of attention. Pretty soon, it becomes clear to you that Chan is CEO Lee Chan of SEVENTEEN Productions, which makes you realize that he’s been keeping this big part of his life from you the whole time. But why would he do that to you? And how are you going to get rid of these reporters that just won’t leave you alone?
Tumblr media
✧ CEO KIM MINGYU ✖
Food critic!reader x CEO Kim Mingyu ~ Ever since you left a negative review on your blog for the Flavor Factory SEVENTEEN branch in Seoul, Mingyu has been trying to hunt you down. Because who did you think you were to judge his food? And why were you hiding behind your computer? You, however, were just content with your life, with a successful food blog where no one was aware of your identity. So, you certainly didn’t expect the CEO of Flavor Factory SEVENTEEN to come knocking at your door in the middle of a workout session.
Tumblr media
✧ CEO YOON JEONGHAN ✖
Junior designer!reader x CEO Yoon Jeonghan ~ From the moment you started working at SEVENTEEN Fashion as a junior designer, your superior seemed to have it out for you. No matter what you did, the woman always critiqued your work or made you work overtime while your colleagues had already left hours ago. Jeonghan has always prided himself in the fact that he treats all employees with respect, regardless of their position. So, when he finds out that it was you, and not your superior, who was responsible for the brilliant idea that got the company’s sales to skyrocket, he decides to get to the bottom of it and ends up taking a special interest in you.
Tumblr media
✧ CEO LEE SEOKMIN ✖
Temp!reader x CEO Lee Seokmin ~ Seokmin had always been a little clumsy. And it just so happened that he decided to get a coffee at the same time that you went to get one. What he didn’t expect was to be the cause of you spilling your coffee all over yourself, and the mental breakdown that followed said incident. You were already having a bad morning, so the last thing you needed was a stranger spilling the coffee you’d paid for with your hard-earned money. Or was he perhaps the solution to all your problems?
Tumblr media
✧ CEO BOO SEUNGKWAN ✖
Waitress!reader, Childhood friend!reader x CEO Boo Seungkwan ~  It had been years since Seungkwan had taken a proper break from anything work-related. When he is forced to take a break by the other 12 CEOs, he returns to his family in Jeju Island, where he meets you, his childhood friend, working at your family’s restaurant. You? You never thought you’d see Seungkwan again. Not after he became successful and the two of you started drifting apart. So, why did he think he could suddenly step back into your life again?
Tumblr media
✧ CEO LEE JIHOON ✖
Office worker!reader x CEO Lee Jihoon ~ Part of being a CEO meant attending social events and unfortunately, that was something Jihoon absolutely hated. After one particular long event, he ends up going to his favorite lookout spot to be alone and clear his thoughts. He didn’t expect anyone to know about that spot. So, he is surprised to find you there, in his spot, and you just won’t stop talking…about your issues, your family, your job and your stupid obsession with HIT SEVENTEEN’s CEO. But then why does he keep coming back, knowing that you’re going to be there too?
Tumblr media
✧ CEO WEN JUNHUI ✖
Musician!reader x CEO Wen Junhui ~ It is through Jihoon that Jun meets you. You’d been in contact with Jihoon for a while to collaborate on a music project, and after months of exchanging emails with demos, he finally invited you to Seoul for some in-person sessions. Given your musical talent and the fact that you’ve been living in China for the past 10 years, Jihoon decides that it’s a good idea to introduce you to Jun, who wants nothing more than to find his special someone. When the hotel you’ve booked suddenly cancels on you, you have to decide whether you want to take Jun up on his offer to stay with him for the few days that you’re in Seoul. He was a well-respected man in his field and you trusted Jihoon’s judgment, so what could possibly go wrong?

beginning ▸ middle ▸ end.
Tumblr media
Y/n was dreading the meeting she walked through the front doors of the sorority for this afternoon, the pageant. Kappa and all the other sororities on Greek row participated in what they call ‘Hot or Not’ every year since supposedly the 1980’s something her now head sister Heather claims was started by the legacy that was her mother. Which maybe was true, but y/n could never figure out why it mattered? And while it was fun it was a little bit old school.
“Hey, girls. Everyone settled in? We have a very exciting tradition here at Kappa as you may know.”
The cheers rang through the sitting room, with its white walls, pale pink carpets, and sherpa couches, the cheers and claps of girls hoping Heather draws their name from the glass bowl with her perfectly manicured finger tips.
“Yes. It’s so exciting, we have a few new faces so since you haven’t been a part of this week in past years we left you out of the bowl, but we will have many things for you to participate in this week. Like dine and dash, our famous Good as Gold party, and of course judging the competition at the end of the week. Before we get to the drawing, I wanted to congratulate our last year's winner, Suni. Give it up for her.”
Smiling, y/n clapped along with the other girls, giving Suni her flowers. About to step out behind the two french doors to grab a water or something to drink, when you hear Heather call your name loudly. All of your other sisters and friends spinning around watching her looking like she was attempting to escape the reality of her name being the one chosen after three years of getting out of it.
“y/n! Finally, Come back here, girly.”
Walking through the clapping crown y/n took her place next to the blonde and pretended to smile with excitement as her gut was telling her it was absolutely the worst day of her life.
The only reason y/n was in this sorority was to get extra college credits, that and Heather and her mother met here and have been friends since that very day. Heather was obsessed with being a legacy and clawing her way to the top of the food chain at the university. Y/n was just there for the ride.
“Everyone, you all obviously know my very good friend and our smartest sister, y/n. I personally have been waiting for the day she got chosen out of this bowl. It’s something our moms, co-vp’s of their 1980’s class of Kappas have been talking about for years. So I’m just as excited as I’m sure y/n is to be our guiding light to another victory this year. Anything to say, y/n?”
“Uh, not really, you said it all.”
Another big fake smile appeared on her face. Laughing and giggling at all the congratulations coming her way.
“Girls, before we enjoy our lunch. Don’t forget tonight is dine and dash, please find your dates and bring them to Carol’s Diner at 8pm. See you there.”
Checking the time on your phone you had roughly 45 minutes before your lecture and enough time to take off the gaudy Kappa logo’d sweater you had to put on for what Heather calls “official business.”
“Y/n what are you checking the time for? We have a lot to do today.”
“I have a class in 40 minutes, I have to go back and change.”
“I don’t get why you won't just move back in here with us?”
“I told you, Heather. I can't. I have to focus on getting into Med School and no offense to you or the other girls, but this isn’t exactly the best place for me to focus when I have to study.”
“Med School can wait just one day right? We have to set up the table at Carol’s and set up for the party later. Would you mind going with the new girl Sam to grab the alcohol? And then you can meet me back here and we will go to the diner together. I’m going to have the girls go out and look for some Nottie’s for you today before that whale from Delta picks them all up. “
“No, but-”
“Thank you! Love you!”
“Also her name is not Sam, It’s Soyeon.”
“Okay got it, toodleoo.”
Searching the house for the person and so called new girl, Sam you stumbled upon her sitting out on the back patio writing in her journal.
“Soyeon?”
“Oh, hey y/n.
“Hey, sorry. I didn’t mean to startle you.”
“No, you didn’t. I’m just so used to everyone calling me Sam I forget people know that it’s actually not.”
“Yeah, it took Heather a whole year to not call Suni, Sunny and everyone just kind of follows her suit.”
“I thought you had class? I didn’t know you were still here.”
“I do. It’s just a lecture on the importance of mammograms and breast cancer research so, I guess it’s okay. I can just find it somewhere online.”
“Ready to head out?”
“Would you hate me if we stopped at my dorm? I cannot wear this fucking sweater for more than an hour or I may spontaneously combust.”
“Yeah, I don’t want to be seen with you in public while you’re wearing that.”
“I appreciate your honesty.”
“You should.”
Y/n and Soyeon escaped the general excitement of the rest of the girls by escaping out the outdoor gate and walked viciously together to change the heinous sweater on y/n’s back.
Turning the corner to finally reach the hall her single dorm room lived at the end of, she ran into a tall boy who’s books scattered all across the floor, a boy she had never once run into literally and physically.
“I'm so sorry.”
“No, no I’m sorry, I wasn’t watching where I was going.”
“You’re y/n right?”
“Yes? Why?”
“Oh, no. Nothing like that. I live across the hall from you. I see your name tag on your door all the time and all the photos of you from all your friends. Which now that I’m talking makes me sound like even more of a weirdo? I’m sorry. I’m Seokmin, my friends call me DK or Dokyeom , whatever. And now I’m rambling, please stop me.”
“No, you’re okay. Can we at least just get off the floor now?”
“Yes.”
Seokmin or Dokyeom whatever his real name actually is, crawled off the floor and stuck his hand out to you for assistance pulling your pink colored body off the floor.
“This is my friend, Soyeon.”
“Sorority sisters?”
“Wait. How’d you know? Oh, fuck the sweater. Don’t tell anyone you saw me wearing this, I know where you live.”
“Don’t worry, I never will. But, sorry to uh, cut this meeting short I have to get to class. I’ll see you again, I’m sure. Bye, nice meeting you y/n. And you too, Soyeon.”
“Bye.”
In unison you and Soyeon watched the tall boy walk towards the elevators. Both of you have differing expressions of looks on your face, one of pure enjoyment watching the awkward interaction and one of pure dumbfoundedness.
“He’s cute.”
Soyeon brought you out of staring at the boy walking away and stepping into the elevator, throwing his fingers up waving goodbye while clutching his mounds of books in his hands.
“What?”
“I said he’s cute and he’s your neighbor. Lucky girl.”
“Oh. Yeah, I can’t believe I’ve never met him before.”
“Why don’t you ask him out?”
“We just met. Plus, I’m busy with school and now this stupid pageant. I don’t have time for cute boys.”
“I’m sure you can make it work.”
Unlocking your door and letting Soyeon in before you so you can sneak a peek at his front door in front of yours. Plain, just a few funny messages and cute stickers of tangerines and tigers pasted on his whiteboard. Maybe he already has a girlfriend? But a boy like that with that many books is probably much like you and had no time for dating.
“Wait. Y/N your room is so nice? Maybe I should move out of the house. It’s loud as fuck anyway.”
“Why are you in the sorority? I’m not judging because I was basically dragged into it too. I’m just curious?”
“My mom always wanted me to join. She said it’s a good way to find friends, I always had a hard time making them. So I figured why not?”
“Got it. Makes sense.”
“What about you? You also don’t serve sorority girl to me.”
“Because my mom also got me to join, that’s actually how I know Heather. Our moms were co-captains of the sorority at some point in the 80’s.”
“Oh, so you’ve known her your whole life?”
“Mhm.”
“No offense or anything, but she’s… kind of a bitch.”
“Kind of? It’s only gotten worse since she’s been in charge. She was okay when we were younger, but you know.”
Slipping out of your jeans and sweater, you threw on a black pair of pleated pants and a loose white button down.
“Also you have tattoos and a sick body, stop dressing like an old woman.”
“I could never pull off what you wear? You’re so cool and confident.”
“Promise me. One party this year you’ll let me pick out something to wear?”
“Okay.”
“You’re very trusting.”
“What? You’re going to make me wear a hot pink dress and try to dye my hair blonde too?”
“Hell no.”
“Exactly.”
Hours passed on as you were getting to know Soyeon more, a part of you realized what you had been missing meeting girls outside of your own circle at school.
People who share your interests and enjoy talking about things other than clothes, shoes, and boys.
It was actually the least stressed you’ve been around someone at the sorority in a long time. Almost like a breath of fresh air.
Getting out of the Uber you took filled to the brim with alcohol and snacks, you were back at the big White House at the end of the street. Not a flaw in sight. Almost like it wasn’t a real reality.
“Should we ditch the diner? We could always go see my friend play at the bar across campus instead?”
“I would love nothing more, but Heather will have my head shaved or something.”
“Okay, well when we ditch later we can head there.”
“It’s a date.”
“Ew, you’re so corny. Save it for your new lover boy across the hall.”
“Shut up.”
Soyeon and you laughed, dragging the last box up the stairs into the foyer of the house. Met with the blonde at the bottom of the stairs.
“There you guys are! I was going to send a search and rescue team to come for you if you didn’t show up soon.”
“We got a little distracted. Sorry.”
“No problem. You’re here now, Sam go up and get ready, I’ll help y/n from here.”
“Okay.”
Soyeon or Sam, picked her poison and shoved down Heather still calling her by the wrong name and walked up to her room to change and get ready for the rest of her night. While you were stuck unpacking the boxes.
“Y/n. Don’t forget to look out for the boys everyone brings tonight. We can pick one from the litter for your Nottie.”
“Look, Heather-“
“I know what you’re going to say and don’t even think about asking me if you can drop out of the pageant, okay?”
“I just don’t think it’s worth it or fair anymore, why don’t we just get the other frat guys to do it? Like Mingyu or Wonwoo, Johnny? I don’t know. I don’t want to make anyone feel uncomfortable.”
“You raise a good point. And it gives me an idea.”
“Which is?”
“We have the other frats competing too, we’ll get more payout and the three uglies will be more profitable than ever for us. You’re so smart.”
“That’s not wha-“
“Ah! I’m so lucky to have you. I’ll let everyone know.”
Heather bounced off into the other room, texting rapidly with her manicured hands on her cell phone, making the fire bigger.
With your head spinning around and around you don’t even remember walking your way to the diner waiting for the freshman girls to bring their guys along to the large table set for someone’s embarrassment.
Taking a seat near the end of the table next to Soyeon and Heather on your other side, you sat and sipped at the Diet Coke in front of you, feeling your mix of anxiety and angel swirling in your stomach and begging for something a little stronger.
“Are you feeling okay?”
Soyeon leaned over and whispered into your ear, seeing the look on your face and noticing your obvious quietness.
“I’ll tell you after.”
“Okay, if you want to go early, let me know.”
“I will”
Heather had her vulture eyes on, waiting to see which she would inevitably have embarrassed by the groups around you with no remorse.
She looked into your eyes and signaled to a cute shy boy across the table, sitting and picking at his nails, making it clear she had made her mark.
“Let me use the bathroom first okay?”
“Yeah, of course. You wouldn’t want to miss it.”
“Right.”
Walking briskly into the old blue stalls in the bathroom, which you didn't even really have to use, but just needed an excuse to go somewhere and release your anxiety.
“Y/n? Hey. Y/n?”
Seeing Soyeon’s platform heels under the bottom of the stall door you jumped up and swung your head out of the blue metal.
“What?”
“Remember that guy you met today?”
“Yes, of course why?”
“He’s here.”
“Someone brought him?”
“No. He’s here with his two friends and Heather invited them to the table. One of them is that dude that’s friends with Mingyu with the that acts like a tiger, the hot nerdy one, and the other one is just some hot short buff guy, never seen him before. Anyway, We either have to get out of here right now or stay and hide in here until they're gone.” L
“Why don’t we just go-“
“No. I don’t want him to think you’re a bitch? Are you crazy? You can’t go dunking on nerds in front of three hot dudes?”
“Okay let’s go.”
As the two of you tried to make your exit from the ladies room you heard commotion outside in the dining room, so you both slipped back quickly into the bathroom, locking the door for some reason as you head the chairs scooting and the bell ringing meaning people were slipping out on one of the boys at the table.
“You think they're gone?”
“Yeah. I hear the sink running in the men’s room, come on.”
As you walked out of the bathroom in front of you Seokmin was sitting at the table covered in a turkey club sandwich looking at the long tab Heather left for him.
“Hey, what are you doing here?”
“Your ‘sisters’ dumped a sandwich on me and left the tab? Do you guys do this a lot?”
“It’s just some stupid shit Heather came up with when she became president. Me and y/n were hiding in the bathroom so we could come and pay the tab. But, you got to it first.”
“Right.”
Not saying anything and standing in your tracks cold, you watched as Soyeon took the check from his hands and waved you on to help him as she went up to pay.
“She dumped her food on you?”
“Yeah, my friends and I were just coming for takeout. I saw Soyeon so I went to say hi and she wanted to come get you. But the blonde girl,”
“Heather.”
“Yeah, Heather. She told me to sit down for a second and my friends went back to their dorm so they could keep studying and deliver food to some other guys. She was okay at first, but once Soyeon left she dumped her soda and sandwich on me and when I came back they were all gone.”
“I’m so sorry? Let me get you dry cleaning money or something.”
“No, don’t worry about it. I can handle it. I’m glad you two were here though, I don’t have my wallet on me. Are you okay though? Have you been crying?”
“I’m fine, just had a moment.”
The small black haired girl popped back over, tucking her card back into her wallet and smiling at the two of you sitting and talking with Seokmin covered in an orange beverage, a little bit of lettuce stuck in his hair.
“Want to come to a party?”
“If it’s at the sorority then sorry, no thanks.”
“No. It’s just some of my friends from the music department. They’re playing a show at O’Malley’s.”
“I don’t think orange soda is really a good look for a party.”
“That’s okay, y/n has to go change too. You guys just meet me there? I’m going to head out and get us a table.”
“Well I do owe you guys both a drink. So, sure.”
“Oh, and Seokmin?”
“Yeah?”
“Make sure y/n actually comes back out, she’s hard to get her hands on.”
“Of course.”
Walking back to your somewhat shared dorm, you and Seokmin walked in silence past greek row, watching all the girls running around to get ready for a greeting ceremony to the frat houses as escorts to their party.
The boy looked at you up and down, imagining you inside one of those grand houses gossiping and dishing on sister life just trying to figure out why you joined in the first place, your friend included.
Reaching your destination with only smiles and small giggles shared between the two of you on the walk over, you both slid into your dorm rooms and found clothes that were far more suitable for a night out.
You noticed the black tank top Soyeon had pointed out before and slid it on, matching it with a pair of dark ripped jeans and your go-to loafers, sliding back into the hallway, finding Seokmin on the other side of the door waiting for you.
He was somehow on your wavelength wearing an oversized black t-shirt and jeans.
“I figured I should try to match Soyeon's aesthetic somehow.”
“Me too. You look nice, I like your shoes.”
“Thank you.”
“Shall we?”
“Yes. I definitely need a drink.”
“So, y/n what is your drink of choice.”
“Anything strong and not sweet.”
“Oh, so not me then.”
“Shut up.”
Seokmin made you laugh, there was no way a boy like him was not taken or at least could be interested in you.
“Have you and Soyeon been friends for long? You guys seem close.”
“Actually, not really. We hung out for the first time today. I mean, I’ve seen her at parties and stuff, but she’s sort of been like a breath of fresh air for me.”
“Really? I’m surprised by that. Why are you in the sorority anyway? You don’t exactly have the same.. Vibe? Or whatever as the other girls. Especially the ones I met today.”
“My mom. The girl. Heather. Soda spiller, her mom and mine were friends when we were kids, they're legacy members. So I just thought it would be fun, but now.. I don’t feel that way.”
“Can’t you just quit?”
“I guess.”
“Why don’t you want to?”
“I guess I just want to be someone who sees things through. I also can’t offer Heather the satisfaction of knowing I left.”
“She really is that bad huh?”
“Worse. It’s a long story. Can we table it?”
“Of course.”
Reaching the door of the bar, you caught a glimpse of Soyeon’s shoulder tattoo near the stage, through the large crowd of people mingling.
“Go. I’ll order us drinks and meet you there?”
“You sure?”
“You said you needed it right?”
“What about your wallet?”
“Apple pay, y/n. Duh.”
“Your ID?”
“My friend is the bartender, just go.”
“So sassy.”
Walking your way through the crowd by pushing yourself through other bodies you finally reach the girl on the other side and wrap your arm around her waist as a hello.
“What the- Oh my god, you actually came? You look so hot. I’m proud.”
“Sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you.”
“It’s fine. Where’s the puppy?”
“At the bar grabbing drinks.”
“On the leash already? You’re good.”
“No. He’s just nice.”
“True. But, he also likes you.”
“I don’t think it’s like that, but maybe someday you’ll tell me I told you so.”
“I look forward to it. I saved you guys a table.”
“My girl.”
Soyeon gestured her long manicured fingers behind you, noticing the boy making his way with two glasses in his hands and another tall figure following behind him holding a tray with various things on top.
“Hi, Soyeon.”
“Hi, Keom. Thank you for joining us. Who’s the glasses?”
“My friend Wonwoo, he works here, well he just got off. Is it cool if he joins us?”
“Of course.”
“Nice to meet you, Wonwoo. I’m y/n.”
“Hey.”
“So. Since I didn’t get to ask Soyeon what she wanted and I wasn’t entirely sure what you liked. We brought over options. But, we have to finish them all because Wonwoo was nice enough to gift them to us and it’s unfair to not accept gifts.”
“Very charming.”
You made your second flirty comment of the night to Seokmin, even though your sober self normally isn’t entirely as bold as you find yourself being with him now. But, in all fairness you were just trying to catch his vibe. He didn’t respond verbally, but just scrunched his nose in your direction almost as if he was letting you know that he’s interested.
“First, a simple vodka soda, little lemon, then just a couple of beer options, this is a sour, this is just a simple light beer, and an ipa, which ew, but I think Wonwoo likes, some tequila shots and some lemon drop shots, also a whiskey soda and a jack and coke, and then a uh, gin and tonic i think? Right, Woo?”
“Yeah, maybe you should be the bartender, Seokmin.”
“I have other talents.”
All eight of your hands reach every which way around the table and end up with different drinks sat in front of them, you beelined for the vodka and the sour beer, Soyeon went for the whiskey soda and the tequila, Seokmin for the gin and tonic and light beer, and Wonwoo for the jack and coke and the ipa.
“Who wants what shot?”
Soyeon dipped her arm back to the middle of the table covering her eyes with her opposite hand, grabbing a hold of the small glasses very carefully and placing them around the small group.
“There. Decided for you, me and Wonwoo get tequila and you and Seokmin get lemon.”
Smiling widely at your friend next to you, you grabbed a hold of the shot glass and held it up signaling everyone to cheers. Which they all happily obliged.
Soon after the alcohol was going through your bloodstream the band started playing their music that hit you right in the chest, songs about living your life to the fullest and choosing your own path, much to your surprise Soyeon was the one who wrote the music that spoke to your soul.
After the set ended, Wonwoo and Soyeon wanted to stay back and have a few more drinks to congratulate their friends, and enjoy their night, but you were beat thinking about all the work you still had to do over the weekend and dreading the choice of man Heather would embarrass. So you decided to leave with Seokmin walking you back safely to your dorm.
“What are you studying again?”
“Me? Oh, I’m studying to be a veterinarian.”
“Wow really? That’s cool, I didn’t know. You must be busy as hell.”
“I’m sure you’re just as busy, being a doctor for actual humans is way more complicated considering a lot of them are assholes.”
“That’s unfortunately true. But, I love it to be honest. I can understand why people are afraid of the hospital and surgery I guess.”
“That’s good, maybe we should study together sometime? I know it’s not the same exact thing or whatever, but it’s nice to have company?”
“I would love that, tomorrow? I mean if you’re free. We can go to the coffee shop or library or anything really?”
“Yeah, just knock around 10?”
“Okay. Cool. I’ll see you tomorrow??”
“Yes, absolutely. Have a good night, y/n”
“You too, Seok.”
Trying to get comfortable in your bed, some pesky person kept lighting up your phone screen, reaching over to turn on do not disturb you and realized it was Heather. She was asking a bunch of interrogating questions about your new friend Seokmin, begging you to bring him over tomorrow.
Unfortunately for you, you knew her interest in him was about to make your new relationship a very complicated one.

Seventeen as your boyfriend | Minghao
An actual prince
If you look up "gentleman" in a dictionary it's just a picture of him next to it
Like, he's the most considerate person you will ever meet
He takes such good care of you and is just SO CALM
Every day is like you're living in a hotel, breakfast in bed is routine for you
No, he is not letting you do anything around the house, when he's home you are forbidden to do anything other than sit down and let him pamper you
And it's the only time you guys will ever argue because you don't like letting him do everything on his own
Gives you gifts out of the blue just because
If he walks past a store and sees something you would like you can bet he's gonna get it for you
Makes you model for his paintings
He won't be caught dead admitting it but he loves to wear matching clothes
He plays it out like "omg we spend so much time together that we accidentally match our clothes"
LIAR
He was most definitely spying on you while you were picking an outfit
He also likes to pick your clothes for you and then act like he didn't pick his to match it
"Omg, it happened again!"
"You literally picked both our outfits"
"But I didn't even remember what I picked for you anymore" 😩
Istg he thinks he's so convincing but you let him have it because you know he loves it
Blames it on you when one of the members points it out
"She loves it, I don't have a say on that" and you are just there looking at him like 👁👄👁
He's a bit of a homebody so most of your dates are just at home, he will make dinner and you'll decorate the table
MANICURE DATES
now hear me out: MATCHING NAILS
THE ULTIMATE COUPLE ACTIVITY THAT HE LIVES FOR
Loves cuddling
God forbid you have something to do early in the morning, he will whine and cling to you to make you stay
He loves it when you play with his hair, it sends him to sleep in like 3 seconds
Takes you to dance practice every chance he gets and loves it when you join him
Doesn't matter if you look like a little duckling completely butchering the choreo, he finds it endearing how you are always willing to try anything for him

 ⊹ ⋆。˚ . ˚✧ .  ⊹ ⋆。˚ DAISY SCENARIOS ! #2
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
where the members tease dk because he was jealous of daisy's romantic partner
The hotel room was permeated with tension that became palpable as the manager entered, announcing firmly, "We're leaving in an hour." Everyone was there to support the female member who was getting ready for a solo commitment.
"You're not ready, Seokmin... Oh, I forgot, today you're not her partner," Jeonghan needled, his tone dripping with venom echoing through the room.
DK couldn't help himself, rolled his eyes, and let out a theatrical sigh. "Very funny," he retorted, his sarcasm cutting.
"You guys are so teasing," commented Daisy, laughing to lighten the mood.
"And you still laugh," DK shot back, shifting his attention from his phone to her.
"Look what you've done," Daisy pointed at DK with a stern expression.
The makeup artist finished her work on Daisy. The singer stood up, twirling to check the overall look in the mirror. Her shiny dress reflected the ambient light, and her face displayed a mix of confidence and determination.
"You can argue later. Now, it's time to shine," the manager intervened, trying to dissipate the tension.
Daisy cast a meaningful look at the group gathered in the room. "You all are amazing. Thank you for the support, even with all this negative energy in the air."
"You look beautiful, Daisy. Your new partner will love accompanying you," Mingyu said, chuckling as he glanced at DK.
Daisy lightly punched Mingyu's arm and walked over to DK, hugging him and speaking in a playful voice, "Will you be watching the award show?" lifting her sparkling gaze to the taller guy.
"And do I have a choice?" he replied without hugging her back.
"Yes, you don't have to watch... But I'd love for you to send me positive vibes," she said even more playfully.
"You're going to win," he said, succumbing to her charm.
"How can you be so sure?"
"You're amazing, this award is already yours," he asserted, eliciting a smile from the girl.
She let go to leave, and then he held her back in a hug. "Good luck, and have minimal interactions with him, please," he requested, with a clear tone of concern.
While Daisy dazzled on the red carpet, the members at the hotel gathered to prepare snacks and drinks, eager to watch the award show.
With each new photo of Daisy posing alongside the actor she worked with, they made a point to show DK. He understood perfectly that she was there for work, and there was nothing more between them. However, something larger than him persisted, an uneasiness hard to ignore.
The event finally began, indicating that DK would be getting closer to the end of his torment.
"Wow, they look so cute together," Seungkwan commented when the nominees for the best couple award were announced.
"You know what else is cute?" DK asked, eliciting laughter from the other members.
The other and most important category in which Daisy competed was announced. The names and faces of the nominees appeared on the screen, and everyone nervously bit their nails, watching with anticipation. Daisy seemed nervous, but she couldn't stop smiling.
"And the New Best Actress award goes to... Choi Daisy!"
"I TOLD YOU!" DK shouted excitedly, the other guys celebrating, recording the screen to capture her speech.
"Quiet," he requested, approaching the TV to listen to her. The atmosphere became tense, and everyone focused on the emotional words Daisy shared with the audience. DK was radiant with pride, a huge smile on his face as he watched the success of the woman he admired.
"Wow, this is incredible. Firstly, I want to thank the drama director, Lee Sun-woo, for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to portray this challenging role. It has been an amazing and enriching journey that has allowed me to grow as an actress and as a person."
Daisy took a deep breath before continuing, her grateful gaze sweeping across the audience. "To the incredible team behind the scenes, you are the true heroes of this production. From the technicians to the producers, each one of you contributed to creating something special. Thank you for all the hard work and dedication."
She directed her gaze to her scene partner, a fond smile on her lips. "To Joon-ho, thank you for being more than just a coworker. Your guidance and support have been invaluable, and I have truly learned a lot by your side."
Daisy's eyes sparkled as she mentioned Seventeen. "To my dear members of Seventeen, you have been my constant source of encouragement and strength. Your words of encouragement propelled me through the most challenging moments. I am immensely grateful to have such an amazing group by my side."
Finally, she addressed the fans, whose unwavering support always moved her. "And, of course, to my dear fans, you are my constant inspiration. Thank you for being by my side, for your loving messages, and for all the unwavering support. Without you, this award wouldn't be possible. I promise to continue working hard to repay all the love I receive."
Daisy lifted the trophy once again, her eyes shining with gratitude. "This award is ours. Thank you all for being part of this incredible journey. Let's keep growing together!"
At the end of the event, Daisy gracefully navigated through the crowd, bathed in camera flashes and applause, carrying not only the glittering award but also a sense of achievement and fulfillment. With a sigh of relief and happiness, she finally had a moment to grab her phone and check messages.
Daisy swiped the screen, her eyes landing on a special message from DK. "I told you the award belongs to you. Congratulations, I'm so proud."
A comforting warmth spread through her chest as she read those words. She knew she could count on his support, but the genuine pride in his messages brought an even broader smile to Daisy's face.
It took about an hour for her to free herself from post-event commitments and finally access her phone. With nimble fingers, she replied to DK, sharing her joy. "Thank you for the support. I'll be heading over soon to celebrate. Can't wait to share this moment with you all."
Every typed word was laden with gratitude and affection, reflecting the emotion of the moment and the deep connection between them. The journey to the award may have been solitary, but she knew her members would be eagerly waiting to welcome her back.

[SVT Imprinted] Junhui/Minghao: Ours (Part 2)
Tumblr media
Characters: Junhui x female reader x Minghao
Genre/warnings: werewolf au, college au, poly au, angst, fluff, stuff about giving birth that i don’t really understand so idk sorry about mistakes <3
Word count: 4,355
Summary: The pack had already gone through a mate giving birth, but that doesn’t make it any easier for you when your time comes. On top of the anxiety of giving birth for the first time, you’re also terrified of how Junhui will react once the babies are born.
Previous | Next | Imprinted Masterlist
You knew the babies would be here soon, you just didn’t know how soon. Your due date came and went, and you were still uncomfortable with an alarmingly huge stomach that Minghao loved to cuddle and coo at – and Junhui when he thought both of you were asleep. You wanted to just have your babies in your arms, but you also knew what would come with that: a very sulky Jun.
Admittedly, you were worried about Junhui. Sure, he had fallen for Faye and Wonwoo’s daughter which kept him distracted, and when Bang Chan and his pack were in trouble, that helped keep his mind off of things too, but you knew things would go back to being bad when you gave birth to Minghao’s babies. Junhui would get jealous and be reminded that he wasn’t the first one to have kids with you, and you couldn’t handle dealing with that anymore. You felt awful for him, but there was nothing anybody could do.
“You look uncomfortable,” Jaehee frowned as you waddled slowly into the kitchen, one hand resting on your stomach while the other was on your side, slightly pressing into your sore back. “You should sit down; I can get you whatever you need.”
The pack was constantly looking out for you, and you more than appreciated it. With a tired huff, you sat down in one of the chairs at the kitchen table while Joshua’s mate got up to get you something to eat.
“Thank you, Jae,” you smiled softly.
“How do you feel?” she wondered.
“Uncomfortable,” you sighed, letting your head fall back and your eyes close. “On the bright side, Jun’s asleep and Minghao’s at school, so they can’t bicker with each other.”
“At least they’ve been better about, y’know...not hating each other,” she offered with a shrug.
“I know,” you sighed, “but I know it hurts Junhui, and it’s just stressful.”
“Don’t focus on stress,” Jaehee said sternly, turning to look at you. "Stress is bad and– well, you remember from Faye.”
The good thing about not being the first to have kids was that the pack already went through everything with Faye, Wonwoo, and little Sonny – and thankfully, everything went smoothly. But she also only had one child, and you were having twins.
Jaehee made you lunch and talked with you while you ate before helping you to the living room to sit down and relax. You stretched your feet out across the ottoman that she pushed over to you before she covered you with a fuzzy blanket and said she’d be in the kitchen studying if you needed anything. So with the TV remote beside you, and the soft sound of talking filling your ears, you dozed off on the couch.
-
You felt…wet. Not the kind of wet you were used to feeling before you were pregnant – both of your mates were terrified of doing anything like that because they didn’t want to hurt you or the babies – but a kind that felt like you not only soaked your clothes, but the couch and the blanket.
But because of Faye, you knew what this was.
“Jun!” you called, your voice slightly shaky. You felt like you were panicking, but you weren’t sure why you were panicking.
Instead, it was Jaehee who came rushing into the room, looking at you with eyebrows raised and mouth open to say something. Then she saw the wet stains on your clothes, and her brain seemed to shut down as she just stared.
“U-uh…” she stammered before yelling, “F-Faye!”
“Where’s Jun?” you asked.
“He left!” Jaehee told you, seeming to panic more than you – like, really panic.
Faye came walking down the stairs, harshly hushing the two of you. When she entered the room, she was carrying a sleeping Sonny in her arms.
“Can you not be so loud? I just got– Oh my god, _____…” she gasped when she took in what was going on with you, her scolding ceasing entirely. “We need to get you to the hospital.”
“How?” Jaehee asked through gasping breaths. “All the cars are gone, and Jun’s gone, a-and– And–”
Faye turned to the older girl, “Shh, it’s alright,” her voice was soft as she tried to console Jaehee, who was clearly about to lose it. “Just breathe, okay? _____ will be fine.”
“B-but what if we have to deliver the baby? There’s nobody here, and we don’t know if somebody can get here in time, and–”
“Don’t worry about that, I’ll take care of it,” Faye promised, cutting off Jaehee’s babbling, “Just take Sonny upstairs and try to relax, okay? I’ll call somebody and make sure everything’s okay.”
Jaehee nodded, seeming to calm down a little now that she knew somebody else was going to be in charge of you. Faye handed the infant over to Joshua’s mate before the older girl took the baby back upstairs. Meanwhile, Faye went over to you, who was trying to breathe through your first contraction.
“Do I call Jun or Hao?” she asked, sitting beside you and placing a hand over your stomach.
“J-Jun’s probably closer,” you breathed.
As Faye took her phone out of her pocket, you heard the front door close before you heard Jun’s voice calling, “Closer for what? And what’s that smell?”
“That’s your mate going into labor, you big fucking moron!” Faye called back, standing up from the couch to meet Jun as he ran right into the living room, his eyes bugging out of his head. “Why would you leave her alone when she’s this pregnant?”
“She’s– So they’re– We–”
“Stop babbling and get her things,” Faye instructed. “I’ll call Jeonghan since he’s probably closer.”
For a moment, Jun just stood there, blinking and staring at you. Faye walked up to him and shoved at his shoulders.
“Don’t just stand there!” she barked. “Go!”
As Jun finally booked it down the hall and up the stairs, Faye started to call Jeonghan.
While Jun was upstairs to get your hospital bag, the reality of what was happening was staring to slowly sink in. You and Minghao would be parents together soon, and what did that make him? He still had nothing, and you and Minghao were going to be all over each other and the new babies.
Suddenly, he wasn’t as shocked over your water breaking anymore. Now, he was back to being upset.
-
Faye stayed home with Jaehee and Sonny while Jeonghan and Soonyoung drove you and Jun to the hospital. Soonyoung babbled excitedly with Jeonghan nagging him to shut up in between, and Junhui sat beside you in the backseat with his hand loosely wrapped around yours. Your mate was trying to give you soft words of encouragement, but you could tell he was still upset. It started to make you really question how things would be after all of this.
Faye had also contacted Joshua, Minghao, and Aya to let them know about what was happening just so they’d be prepared. Joshua promised he’d be on his way to the hospital to meet up with Aya’s mom and prepare for you.
When you got to the hospital, it didn’t take long to get you into a room. Joshua arrived before Minghao did, already in scrubs and with a smirk on his face.
“More babies to keep us up at night,” he said, his tone deadpan. “Can’t wait.”
“The girls have no problem sleeping through it,” Jeonghan pointed out. “Well, except Aya and Faye, obviously.”
But you didn’t even care about waking up at all hours of the day and night. You were just happy to have your little bundles of joy in your arms with you. You couldn’t wait, but you also felt a pang in your heart from your excitement. Your eyes drifted over to Junhui who was trying to hide his sulking as he sat in a chair pulled up beside your bed.
Minghao showed up fifteen minutes later, running and out of breath. He smiled as soon as he saw you, and it was the brightest, most hypnotizing smile. So hypnotizing, in fact, that you almost missed how Jun got up and swiftly left the room without a word.
Almost.
Your smile fell as your eyes followed your other mate’s back until he was out of view. Minghao turned to see his brother walk away before he looked back at you with a sad smile.
“Don’t worry,” he told you softly as he walked over to take Jun’s seat. He took one of your hands in both of his large ones. “He’ll come around.”
“What if he never does?” you wondered worriedly. “What if he hates them?”
Minghao hushed you softly, letting go of your hand with one of his to smooth your hair back soothingly, “Don’t worry about that. You know he won’t hate them. He may be upset at first, but he’ll come around. Just focus on right now, okay? No stressing.”
You nodded, so Minghao smiled and leaned over to press a kiss to your forehead.
Slowly, more of the pack accumulated in the hospital -- including Jaehee, who left as soon as Wonwoo got home -- coming in to say hello and see how you were doing before going to wait either in the waiting room or in the cafeteria. Hours had gone by full of pain and labored breaths and Minghao reassuring you whenever you needed it. You were actually both surprised and touched that he never left you. Not when he was hungry, not when he was tired, and not when you squeezed his hand so hard that he was even hissing slightly in pain.
Meanwhile, Junhui never came into the room. He wanted to because his instincts told him to be with his mate, but he didn’t want to see those babies that would look and smell like you and Minghao. He didn’t want any part of that, at least not yet. He stayed in the hospital, but he didn’t go in the room.
“You’re being a big baby,” Bomi said bluntly, making Junhui grimace even more.
“No,” Juri spoke up, placing a small hand over Jun’s, “we understand why you feel this way.”
“But,” Areum cut in, “you’re totally being a big baby.”
Jun just slid down further in his chair and mumbled to himself, crossing his arms over his chest.
“Guys, c’mon. Just cut him a break,” Jaehee said with a small shrug. “It’s not easy having to share a mate.”
Bomi opened her mouth to retort, but when she remembered who she was speaking to, she quickly snapped it shut.
“I know I’d hate sharing,” Jeonghan mumbled, grouchy at the mere thought of having to let somebody else touch and love his mate like he did.
“I just can’t believe she’s having his babies,” Jun sulked, his eyes staying glued to the table they sat around in the cafeteria. “I imprinted first and I’m oldest; I should have kids first, right?”
“Well…technically, Wonwoo had kids first,” Bomi shrugged, trying to make light of the situation.
“Look, Jun,” Seungcheol began, leaning forward and resting his arms on the table, “we get that this is hard for you, but are you really going to resent these babies forever?”
“Not forever,” he said. “…Just until I get a baby...”
“Oh my god, you’re a child,” Eunmi groaned.
“I’ll show you a child…” Junhui grumbled, eyeing the shorter mate.
Eunmi raised her eyebrows, “No, but Minghao will.”
“Okay!” Juri cut in quickly, standing up and grabbing Eunmi’s hand, pulling her to her feet. “C’mon, let’s go get you some frozen yogurt, huh?”
As she walked away quickly, Jeonghan tried to tell Junhui not to listen to Eunmi’s comment because she was just trying to get to him.
He sighed and looked around at his friends still sitting at the table with him, “I don’t want to hate some infants, and I’m not saying I do or will. But I can’t control my instincts, so whatever happens, happens.”
“They’re still _____’s kids, though,” Areum cut in. “What would you do if you imprinted on her and she already had a kid from another relationship? Would you hate her kid then?”
“This is way different,” Jun insisted.
“These feelings won’t last forever,” Seungcheol promised. “Neither will the aggression. Or depression.”
“And you’ll get your turn to be a dad,” Jaehee told him with a smile. “Don’t worry about that. I bet as soon as _____ is healed, she’ll want you all over her.”
Junhui scoffed, rolling his eyes as he let himself wallow further in self-pity. He knew his friends wanted to help him, but he just wanted to be left alone – or to change the past, but that clearly wasn’t going to happen.
“Guys!” Mingyu called, running into the cafeteria. “Hey, you guys!”
Bomi groaned, hiding her face in her hands, “Can I pretend I don’t know him? People are staring.”
“Inside voice, Gyu,” Juri said as she walked back over to the table side-by-side with Eunmi who now had a cup of frozen yogurt in her hands.
“It’s _____,” he said as he stopped at the table. “She’s about to give birth; she wants Junhui up there.”
Jun stiffened in his chair, surprised at what he just heard. You wanted him there? Why?
He didn’t even bother turning to look at Mingyu as he mumbled, “She has Minghao.”
“She said she wants you, dude,” he insisted. “She’s in a lot of pain, and she’s really overwhelmed and scared.”
Junhui did his best to suppress the whimper wanting to sound out. Instead, he cleared his throat and asked, “Why can’t Minghao comfort her? I don’t want to see it.”
“I’m serious, Junhui. She’s crying for you. She needs both of you there.”
He cursed under his breath before he stood up from the chair and jogged out of the cafeteria, going straight for the stairs instead of the elevator. That was when he picked up the pace, reaching your floor in no time.
When he got close to your room, he realized Mingyu wasn’t lying. He could hear you whimpering to Minghao about how you wanted Jun and how you too scared to do this. He could hear Minghao trying to reassure you, but you ended up choking out a sob instead.
He opened the door to see you with tears streaming down your flushed face as Minghao held one of your hands with both of his own. Joshua and Dr. Moon were already there, prepared to help you deliver the twins, but only Joshua and Minghao looked up when the door opened.
“Look who it is, love,” Minghao said softly to you.
You opened your eyes and lifted your head to see Junhui staring at you with an unreadable expression. But you were still so relieved and happy that you reached out to him with your free hand and cried his name. He walked over to you without even thinking, as if there were a magnetic pull that just brought him to you. His hand found yours, holding it close to his chest.
“Why are you crying?” he asked softly, using his other hand to wipe tears from your face.
You shook your head, “I don’t think I can do this…”
Junhui chuckled and shook his head – he also wondered why you didn’t think of this about nine months ago, “What are you planning on doing? Keeping them in there?”
“I’m scared,” you confessed with a sniffle.
You were scared for a plethora of reasons, but anybody could guess them. Being a mom, the pain, the aftermath and dealing with Jun – the list went on. And your mates knew every single reason you were afraid.
“You can do this,” Junhui told you, giving your hand a reassuring squeeze. “Minghao and I will be by your side the whole time, okay?”
“Promise?”
“Of course I promise.”
“When have we ever left you when you were scared?” Minghao reminded you.
You were starting to feel a little better, up until Dr. Moon’s eyes flashed up to look at you, and she asked, “Ready or not, they’re coming.”
That sent cold fear straight through you.
Thanks to Junhui’s instincts, he was able to push aside his feelings to focus only on you. He needed to make sure you were okay and would be okay, so that was his main priority at the moment. It didn’t matter if he had to work together with Minghao, and it didn’t matter that he would be forced to see you and Minghao get all cozy together when you held your babies. All that mattered to him was you.
So, as you cried and grunted and yelled through the pain and the pushing, Junhui told you how well you were doing and how much he loved you. He sounded sincere and genuine, unlike his half-assed attempts in the car. He let you squeeze his hand while he just took it without flinching. And when he saw the first baby in the doctor’s arms after it came out, he didn’t suddenly freeze up or get a shot of anger course through him. He still focused on you.
Nothing could get his attention off of you. Not the second cry, not Dr. Moon and Joshua speaking. Not even Minghao as he kissed your forehead tenderly when you collapsed back into the bed. As he looked at you with your messy hair, sheen of sweat on your skin, and red face, all he could focus on was how much he loved you.
But that was quickly short-lived.
“We have the babies,” Joshua sang as he entered the room with Aya’s mother, each of them holding a baby. “Wanna see?”
Junhui still didn’t want to be there for it. He wanted to be anywhere but there. Just smelling two humans that were a mix of you and Minghao was a weird experience for him.
“I’m gonna…go…” Jun mumbled, letting go of your hand.
“Junhui, please stay,” Minghao begged, though you didn’t understand any of it. “They may be ours by genetics, but they’re still yours, too. They’ll still look up to you as a father, won’t they? You should still meet them.”
Jun paused while Minghao spoke, processing his words. But in the end, he carried on to the door, leaving you and Minghao with your new little family behind.
You frowned, looking up at Minghao, “What was that?”
“He just needs a little break,” Minghao explained, not wanting to make you upset – especially not now. “He’ll be back later. I promise.”
Dr. Moon walked up to you, holding a baby swaddled in a blanket with a pink hat on its head, “Congratulations on two baby girls.”
Your heart swelled with love and joy and every good feeling as she carefully put one of the babies in your arms. As soon as you held her, everything just felt right. You teared up as you looked down at her face, wondering how one little person could be so perfect.
Minghao thought the same about the baby Joshua handed over to him. She looked just like you, and it was even better because he just knew it was something you and him made together. He more than teared up when he held her. He cried as he let out soft laughs and pressed a feather-light kiss to her forehead.
“You are the most perfect thing I’ve ever seen,” he whispered as he cradled her closer.
“Have you picked out any names?” Joshua asked as he smiled at the scene before him.
You and Minghao had bounced around on names. You’d pick one, and then change your minds. But there was one that Minghao had been pretty dead set on for the last couple months. He thought it was pretty because it meant sunflower in his language.
“This one is Aili,” you announced, not looking away from her face.
“And, this one…” Minghao began, but he trailed off, a half-smile growing on his face as he looked away from the unnamed baby to you. “I think I have a great name for her.”
-
Jun sat just down the hall, his back up against the wall as he drowned out your talking with the hospital noises around him. So Minghao didn’t have to go far to find him.
Junhui looked up when he saw shoes standing beside him, only to see his brother smiling down at him.
“No offense, but I want to just be left alone right now,” Jun mumbled, looking back down at the floor.
“Stop being mopey and come with me,” Minghao said, ignoring Jun’s attitude – nothing could bring him down from how happy he felt, not even Junhui. “There’s somebody you really need to meet.”
“I told you, I don’t want to see your kids, okay?”
“Just trust me.”
Minghao held out a hand, offering to help Junhui up. Jun only glanced at him for a moment before sighing and pushing himself off the ground himself. He stuffed his hands into the pockets of his jeans as he trailed behind Minghao.
When Jun entered the room, he looked anywhere but at you or the two babies – one in your arms, and the other in Joshua’s. So as Jun went to go stand in the corner, he didn’t see Minghao take the baby from Josh’s arms and walk over to him with her.
“Hold your arms up,” Minghao told him.
“Stop, you know I–”
“Junhui, come on,” Minghao said, his voice firmer than the older boy expected.
With a permanent scowl, Jun held out his arms to take the baby girl from Minghao. As soon as she touched his arms, his whole body instantly felt warm. The feeling almost made him shiver – it was like the first time he ever got to touch you.
As if they had a mind of their own, Jun’s eyes wandered down to the little baby in his hands, and suddenly, that scowl wasn’t as permanent as he thought. All his anger, resentment, and sadness completely melted away as he looked down at the infant in his arms. If he weren’t holding a baby, he would’ve let his knees give out, but he was too scared he’d drop her.
You let out a breath you didn’t know you were holding. You were so afraid that Jun would absolutely hate the babies, so when you saw only fondness in his eyes, your own started to tear up.
Minghao smiled as he watched the frown on Jun’s face melt into a look of wonder.
“This,” Minghao began, “is Meihui, inspired by my immature but very loveable brother: Junhui.”
Jun’s eyes flashed up to Minghao’s, a look of pure surprise on his face as a smile slowly started to break through onto his face, “You named her after me?”
“Of course,” he shrugged as if the gesture was nothing, even though he knew it meant a lot to his brother.
Jun couldn’t help but smile widely, his teeth completely on display as he looked back down at Meihui in his arms. Even though she seemed to be sleeping, he thought he could stare at her for hours and not get bored. He was completely wrapped around her little finger already.
“But you are much better than I am,” Jun whispered to her before he leaned down and pressed his lips softly to her forehead. “You’re absolutely perfect.”
“Do you want to hold Aili?” you offered, your voice cracking just a bit.
Jun looked up at you immediately, laughing softly, “Baby, why are you crying?”
“Nothing,” you reassured him as Minghao took Meihui, and Jun walked over to take Aili from you, “don’t worry about it.”
Jun felt just as happy and fond as he held the other girl, cradling her to his chest as he studied her face with the same bright smile on his lips. You and Minghao just watched him with happy expression, glad that the old Jun was coming back to you.
“I can’t believe two things so perfect are actually half Hao,” he teased, looking up at his brother.
Minghao rolled his eyes, “Come on, you know they’re perfect because they’re half _____.”
“Ah, you’re right,” Jun nodded before he leaned over to kiss your temple.
You opened your mouth to tell them they were both being cheesy, but all that came out was a yelp. You started feeling contractions again, and they were just as bad as the previous ones. Your hands flew to your stomach as your face contorted in pain.
“What’s happening?” Junhui asked worriedly, looking between Joshua and Aya’s mom.
“It’s just all the…afterbirth stuff,” Joshua explained, waiving a hand away.
Dr. Moon sat back down on the stool in front of your bed, moving your legs to the side, “Ah, actually… I think that ultrasound might’ve been wrong.”
“Wrong?” you burst.
“Wrong?” Joshua repeated, walking over to see what she was talking about. “Oh my god…”
“What?” Minghao asked as your two mates also moved down to your lower half to see what was happening.
“Can you two stay up here?” you whined.
“Here’s the thing...” Joshua began as he looked at you with an odd expression that you couldn’t read, “with two or more babies, ultrasounds get very hard to read. Gender and numbers kind of become more like…an educated guess.”
As the pain only got worse, you asked through clenched teeth, “What does that mean?”
“Well, I can see a head, so…” Dr. Moon said as she put on a new pair of gloves. “You’re about to have triplets.”
You swore, you almost passed out right there.
Jun looked to Minghao accusingly, “Jesus, what did you do to her?”
“No, Jun,” Joshua shook his head. “Trust me when I say that I don’t sense any Minghao from this one.”
Your eyes were squeezed shut as you gripped the sides of your bed so hard that your knuckles were completely white, so you didn’t see the way Jun’s eyes widened.
“…What?” he asked just above a whisper.
