Welcome to my page. I am MedicallyComplex aka Sarah I am a 24 Year old living with multiple chronic illnesses and disabilities from Pots, Epilepsy, IBS, Fibromyalgia, Chronic migraines, Chronic pain just to name a few. I am here sharing my story and sharing awareness about living with chronic illnesses and how it effects my life on a daily basis. Happy Giving Tuesday Now and Cinco de Mayo! 🎉 The rescue I helped start is named @unitedpawsrescueinc Donations can be made to: [email protected] or to our FB fundraiser. Please share or tag to help as well. We are a tiny rescue- just a small collection of volunteers. Despite our small size, we have always tried to go above and beyond to save as many kitties as possible. We have always gone for the underdogs, the less desirable ones with little to no chance. We save the FIV, FELV, blind, senior, injured, and overall medically or behaviorally needy kitties. If you have followed our page over the past few months, you’ll know that many of our kitties we have saved off the euthanasia list with only “behavior” issues have turned into kitties needing help with severe eye issues, leg amputations, larynx surgery, and more. Even when we don’t have the funds available, we do NOT give up on kitties once they are in our care- we do everything we possibly can to get them better. Once they are better, we work tirelessly to find them the perfect home- even if that means flying them to another state if that’s where their perfect home is. Currently, we are thousands of dollars in debt from these kitties we have saved. Our goal for this #GivingTuesdayNow is to pay off our debt, as well as hopefully get a little left over so that we can continue to save cats like these. No amount donated is too small, every little bit helps toward the kitties! In a normal day I need my wheelchair, forearm crutches, and can walk without help (with my braces). Its always hard to explain to people that you can walk but still need a wheelchair sometimes. Even doctors dont understand. When I asked my specialist (who confirmed the connective tissue disorder this monday) for a disabled parking spot, he gave me an unhelpful and unprofessional lecture about how I cant call myself disabled. Pastel sketching WIP Time for a #raredisease update aka what the hell is going on with my nervous system! ...It’s not great. TW: videos may be disturbing/not be appropriate for all viewers If you remember back in August I had a reaction to the anesthesia given during a procedure that caused a “Dystonic storm” the first video (Swipe) is 3 hours after the original storming and is greatly improved from the original, the second video is 2-3 weeks later. Dystonic storms are rare and usually only occur in people who already have generalized Dystonia, I do not (I had focal and now have segmental) as for why that happened? No one really knows. The Dystonia genetic panel ruled out all the REALLY bad things, but not every gene. For example I ended up in the ER November 5th with something called “Hemipeligic Migraine” a rare serious type of Migraine that occurs with stroke like symptoms (they ordered and emergency MRI to rule out stroke, luckily all was clear) it is a genetic mutation that can cause movement disorders. We have been referred to a research center at Boston children’s for further testing. I’ve avoided any pokes and tests for now aside from those 8 failed IV tries in the ER, until January as we have to figure out what to do next. There’s a 6mm mass of cells with an abnormally high electric signal, something in between a lesion and a benign tumor, likely from in utero that’s located near the movement center of the brain and could be the cause or part of the cause of the problem, in addition to the original brain damage. Long story short; we have no answers, my nervous system is going rouge, and the rest of my systems are going with it.
