Sorry if this not making sense at all, I forgot most Zi-O lore cause I hate it with my every being, just not the main characters but that hypocritical of me cause most of my AUs tend to not make sense. Also, i kinda rewrote the whole Evil Sougo here cause he so lacking in canon that i changed him a bit too cryptic but still a bad guy nonetheless. Also this AU kinda made it in my dream and I just had to continue it cause its ruined my concentration in class lol. (also the angst probably from my projection to my comfort charas so i am so sorry about that too)

Before we start how the AU happened, I need to explain that this AU is kind of different than canon or just the basic HCs of this AU

Basic Hcs: 1. The Main Riders have found a family joke but turn real (Mom and Dad are Emu and Shinnosuke, the kids are Takeru, Sougo, Ikki, and Houtaro, and the uncles and the aunts are the rest of the riders), Sougo is a theater kid beside he can do ballet, Sougo is a history nerd, Sougo in the past being bullied before because he wants to be a king in middle school before high school so he never talks about it openly again. And how do they meet together? Let's say because of the crossover movies, sometimes they meet for a reunion or fight for a world-ending fate again or beat up Tsukasa lol.

The summary of AU: some new villains want Sougo back to being an evil king to destroy other riders, and they do it by changing the past or rather trying to kill the main riders in the past, Sougo knows this by someone trying to warn him and use his time powers despite he trying not to use his time powers other than time-stopping, that someone also said to never said this anyone even Geiz and Tsukuyomi or he get the biggest regret of his life. Sougo has to force himself to use his time powers to the past to stop the villain while making the past riders not know what he is so he makes a somewhat villain persona for it. He also changes his style for this he even changes his hairstyle and clothes so no one knows it's him. Also, that someone is Hiden Atsuya, a future adopted kid of Fuwa x Aruto who secretly helps break Sougo's fate since these villains are from his timeline and other future kids.

This timeline is in 2024, meaning Houtaro is here too and Sougo is 24 years old.

His villain persona: not too talkative unless he wants to talk cause he doesn't want to give hints from the future, very quiet, very stoic, he is a good person but his persona feels like a quiet jerk, this persona is inspired by his mentor and dad figure, Tsukasa Kadoya.

For example :

Past!Shoutaro: Hey, who are you?

A!Sougo: ….

Shoutaro: Answer me!

A! Sougo, quietly said:…Protect your loved ones to your heart, Hidari-san…

His appearance disguised is his hair braided on his left side, has a lot of bandages on his right eye, and sometimes wears a hat sometimes not, his clothes are black/blue pants overall with a double layer of white/grey shirt. Sougo wears a pair of worn-out black combat boots as part of his disguised persona.

Sougo starts this journey is very optimistic but also wary cause he doing this alone this time, after several loops where he fails a lot of times and has to use his time to rewind the past to normal but he has to make the past riders forget his existence in the past and kinda losing it so when in 23rd loop, he tells to Geiz and Tsukuyomi but unfortunately, like the kid tell him.. It did make something bad happen like a world-ending scenario. He hates to see the dead body of his mentor lying on the ground, he hates to see his older brother's dead body near a river, he hates to see his parental figures' bodies lying on the streets, and he blanks out when he sees his lover's dead bodies. After that loop, his eyes start to dull but anyone in the present doesn't notice Sougo's weirdness until the 50th loop.

Sougo routine most of the time now is present timeline-past-go back to the present timeline so everyone becomes suspicious that Sougo suddenly disappeared most of the day (surprisingly they noticed after the 49th loop cause Sougo can act very well) to encounter this, Sougo made to redo the first day when he starts to go to past to prevent the villains and that day be his ‘checkpoint’ so anyone not sus about it.

The villains are psychopaths, they claim that they are very loyal to Oma Zi-O than to Time Jackers. They tried to do the same thing to Sougo’s daughter but she was very stubborn and the villains came in a bad timing like literally the baddest timing ever when her dads, her mom, her Nana Emu, Grandpa Shinnosuke, and other granduncles riders out there. So they had to resort to another plan, which made Sougo's life miserable to make him guilty of the villains so he forced himself to give in to the fate he had to face years ago.

1-22nd loop!Sougo: still optimistic but after some loops, he is kinda tired about it. This whole shit made him eat less but not too less, he was just not very in the mood to eat.

23rd-80th loop!Sougo: His eyes became dull, lost his sense of taste, got tortured by the same villain via the electric chair, and had to kill the said villain, always on the run then going home, sometimes getting a mental breakdown of what he did, he feels guilty to have erased his senpai and kouhai memories too much also kill someone. In mid of the 60th loop, he has hallucinations and nightmares of his senpai.

81-99th loop! Sougo: Lost his mind but his sanity is still intact, he somewhat embraces fate but at the same time does not, he reaches out to his bad future self, Oma Zi-O to give him the true potential of his powers despite his chances of being an evil king will greatly increase and his future self surprisingly give him. He plans for his own king's ‘execution’ after this whole thing is done. Also the villains found out to break the time loops mind erasing shit at 85th loop and the Riders demand answers from Sougo sometimes leading to fighting, Sougo had to force himself wrapped by his villain persona and get up but at one time he break his persona once. He mutters that he rather save them than not do anything about it so he calls himself a sinner or a liar once he defeats Geiz and Tsukuyomi.

I don't know what to explain anymore so i write the all WIPs of minific or/and songfics that I thought of, and not in chronological order sorry and sorry i totally take some HoT convo from chapter 17, sorry for the ooc and not making sense in this goddamn AU also sorry of my bad writing:

“I think this is the first time you have reached out to me even go to this timeline as well..” Oma Zi-O said, this time, he used a younger body with his left eye bandaged. He looks at Sougo with empty, cold eyes yet his expression doesn't fit him right now

“Are you no longer afraid of these powers?…” He asked him

“I don’t know.. I feel I am not afraid anymore ever since 81st loop” (Sougo)

“If you continue to tread this path, you will find yourself falling deeper into the abyss” warned Oma Zi-O

“……I don’t care, I will take care of it all” Sougo replied

“You will lose everything, your family and friends will no longer trust you” (Oma Zi-O)

“It’s doesn’t matter to me anymore, I always alone..” Sougo replied he embraced the fact he always going to be alone.

“You will leave them forever..”

“…”

"You won't be around them anymore, see their smiles, or hold their hands."

“It’s okay, I already know what I am getting into…”

“There is no turning back once you get into this path, are you sure is this your choice? ”

“It’s doesn’t matter… Senpai will take care of them but this is something I must do.. I already made my choice”

“Then so be it..” Oma Zi-O gives Sougo the true potential of his powers.

Tsukasa looks at Sougo with deep rage. Sougo’s eyes were in horror. Shit, keep calm Sougo.. Keep your goddamn persona in check!

Sougo feels Tsukasa’s weapon at his head. Sougo’s trying not to cry. “Now, Sougo.. Tell me, why are you doing this?..” His voice is empty, cold. Clearly, He doesn’t trust Sougo right now. Sougo’s eyes become dull. Shoutaro noticed this and is now worried for Sougo.

Tsukasa, Shoutaro and Shinnosuke suddenly got summoned to future by Oma Zi-O.

“What do you want..” Shoutaro asked

“…………Make sure to watch my younger self back”

“Eh?” Shinnosuke was shocked.

“What do you mean by this?…” Tsukasa asked

“I'm just curious about his future after all, if it ends up with him being evil king again.. It will be just boring and… Every evil king always gets executed in the end” And at the right moment, a guillotine drops. The three riders jumped a bit and now realized what the evil king meant.

“Sougo planned to end this once and for all, and by that… He plans his execution”

“Huh, I didn't know you could care, why do you ask us this..” (Tsukasa)

4. (More of a summary than a fanfic but yeah) also this like the end of 100th loop

Finally, Sougo did it and defeated the villains on his own at least this time didn’t kill anyone and let the future kids handle them. Now, he is on top of a building, the tallest building in the city. He can finally execute his execution. He can wipe his timeline that made him an evil king but the idea of living scared him like what if this fate gets him again, watch his loved ones suffer from his fate, he just rather disappear and never come back. Sougo takes out his braid and the bandages off then takes the final leap.

The songs that fit Sougos:

He closed his eyes until someone took his hand in that fall, it was Takeru. Sougo in shock and scared, why did Takeru follow him, he didn't want Takeru dying with him, it was supposed to be his ‘execution’ not Takeru too. He realized he made Takeru cry, he felt guilty he was the reason that he crying right now. He doesn't realize that he is being saved by Inves plant and passes out when Takeru and him back to the rooftop.

5. (totally take this from Honkai Impact)

Sougo put Geiz's unconscious body to the wall. "You and Tsuku saved me from that fate, so i return the favor. If saving you is a sin then i'ii be the sinner..." Then Sougo left.

Watching The Sandman again for the hundreth time and I know everyone always loves to focus on Dreamling, but can we talk about Rose Walker for a moment?

The Sandman is often applauded (and complained about) for being an extremely gay show, but I particularly love how even the characters who aren’t canonically gay come across as extremely gay.

Take Rose Walker. The main character of The Doll’s House story. Neither the show nor the comics ever give Rose a sexuality, but there are some very glaring factors that heavily support her being queer.

The first time we see Rose is in episode 5 24/7. Judy, the lesbian at the diner who has had a fight with her girlfriend Donna, calls Rose and asks if Rose knows where Donna is. We know that Rose considers both Judy and Donna close friends and has a picture of Judy in her apartment.

Rose’s only other friend that we know of besides Lyta Hall (who she got to know via proximity since they were neighbours) is her friend Carl who she clearly is close enough with to let him house sit for her (even though he has sex with The Corinthian on her bed!).

So her closest friends are a lesbian couple and a gay man. I know I know straight people can be friends with queer people but statistically speaking queers flock together. Its more likely that Lyta is the token straight in the friend group than Rose AND Lyta both being straight.

I also question her choice of seeking out accomodation in Cape Kennedy. Isn’t it interesting how she ends up in a very strange B&B also managed by a gay drag artist and filled with colourful characters including Chantal and Zelda (I know their relationship is supposed to remain ambiguous but imo the show also leans more into them being lesbians due to Chantal’s dream where she calls them “soul sisters” and “gothic brides” and I dunno I just think the fact she refers to them as brides is pretty telling!)

Of all your accomodation choices in Florida, this in particular seems like the kind of place one would go to if they were specifically looking for somewhere advertised as “LGBT friendly”. All the characters staying at the B&B are either canonically queer or heavily queer coded.

Gilbert/Fiddlers Green isn’t technically human, but his whole aura is distinguished older gay man - he’s played by Stephen Fry after all!

Also I could go on about Barbie (who I theorise found the accomodation for her and Ken) but without revealing any comic spoilers, she also later surrounds herself with basically all queer people. I know in the comics she is strictly heterosexual, but nah she dreams like a queer theatre kid on speed or something lmao. That girl is a bisexual disaster all the way and yeah I may be projecting on her as a fellow blonde overly dramatic dreamer and disaster bisexual but I claim her for my own okay just let me have this.

So yeah, the queer friendship groups, the specific seeking out of an LGBTQ friendly b&b in Florida, and the fact that she literally wears rainbows in her hair and I think its clear enough that that girl is a baby queer if ever I saw one.

Due to the merging of Rose and Lyta’s stories in the Netflix show, we should actually get to see more of Rose in future seasons. In the comics, after the Dolls House book, she doesn’t appear again (unless she turns up in the Wake since I haven’t read that far ahead), but by making her Lyta’s companion in the show, we know she will appear again since Lyta and the baby (Daniel not that he has been named yet in the show) are reoccuring characters throughout the entire Sandman comic run.

Maybe I just crave more lesbian and bisexual women rep in my fave shows, but sitting here watching this show again it just tickles me that in the entirety of season 1, it is so easy to view practically every major female or female presenting character as queer. Joanna Constantine and Rachel, Judy and Bette, Lucifer and Mazikeen (bring on the make out scene in season 2!), Chantal and Zelda, and in my opinion, Rose Walker, Barbie, Lucienne, and Gault are all queer coded WLW.

(Lucienne and Gault is just a ship I love okay but you can’t deny there was some flirting in episode 10!)

It’s been such a crappy year for lesbian rep with lesbian shows getting cancelled left right and centre. I just think lesbians should therefore claim the Sandman as theirs. if nothing else, claim it out of spite. It’s a fantasy show with a pathetic wet cat emo boy as a main character who literally surrounds himself with lesbians, is probably in love with his best friend, and considers a slutty gay serial killer with teeth for eyes his greatest ever creation. It just seems to me like the kind of show that should appeal heavily to WLW okay! Plus there are more lesbians coming in season 2! Encourage your lesbian and bisexual friends to go watch The Sandman now!

sokka’s treatment in lok was astonishing tbh but i’m actually glad he was dead by the time the series started bc toph being a cop??? aang being an awful dad???? they would’ve ruined him and suki’s characters lbr.

as far as any possible kids go idk we didn’t meet suyin till book 4 we barely saw izumi i think they just didn’t want to make the new series be a atla reunion plus lok was only meant to be one season so they were making that shit up as they went along lmao. and back in 2012-14?? they didn’t know themselves what happened to sukka lmao.

sokka and suki are definitely the type to break up bc of long distance but then find their way back to each other a few years later especially as they settle into their roles in life.

while bryke definitely neglect suki and sokka to some capacity also they do have a soft spot for suki after bringing her back. many don’t consider her to be team avatar but they’ve stated they do so idk ! she shows up a lot in the comics which have obv been created post-lok and it’s been said that they’ll utilise it’s plots and characters in shall see in future projects (crane fish town becoming republic city maybe??? where suki currently is working?? and sokka later lives!!)

i’m p sure suki will be in it at some capacity anyway and that there’ll stick with jennie as she’s one of the few asian og va’s. she’s doing a lot of work atm for avatar studios.

also random but i literally found out today that it’s not bryke-confirmed that mai and zuko end up together. it was a comment on a panel by the old comic writer. it’s not technically canon. izumi is the spit of mai anyway but hmm! interesting!!

oo big ask ok let me break this up into different paragraphs …

fist point - one thing i will admit about lok is that it fell short in incorporating the original characters into the new series in an interesting way with enough verisimilitude (realistic-ness) that it didn’t feel like they were just throwing a popular character into an episode for the sake of it. such as the whole ‘aang is a bad dad’ thing because they under-utilised him as a mentor figure to korra and instead focused on his supposed favourite son (i have thoughts on this re. aang NOT being a ‘Bad’ dad but i will make another post on it if u are interested (or have i alr made one? i’ll make another one.))

i have to agree that they would’ve probably done something shitty to sokka or suki if they were included. especially with the entire first season of lok being about bender/non-bender equality… i can just imagine they’d make sokka say something dumb about the equalist movement being 100% Bad instead of him actually supporting some of their completely valid arguments. idk. i’m sad there’s no sukka but at the same time…. quit while ur ahead yk.

second point - sukka long distance relationship is so real ESPECIALLY during their first few years together. i can see them just kinda calling it off because of commitment issues due to their work, etc. but not ever really losing feelings. they’d be endgame tho🥰

i can absolutely see suki being in upcoming projects! especially since she and the other kyoshi warriors expanded their reach across the nations - it would be hard to ignore them completely if we’re assuming they’re including comic canon into the universe. i hope jenny returns!!

third point - yeah! how crazy that maiko as izumi’s parents isn’t canon confirmed… though she’s so clearly mai’s daughter. i wonder if mai’s role will be expanded in upcoming projects / if she’ll be featured more. hmmm.

fourth - would honestly prefer this to the theory sokka is her father lol. it kinda baffles me that TOPH became a cop.. not bc she opposes authority - there’s something different about enforcing it than there is having to follow it. i can see toph in authoritative positions, and she fits them well. but i think it baffles me moreso because why would toph even work as a COP? isn’t that boring as hell for her?? go do something awesome like probending or professional underground fighting (adult blind bandit anyone?? this would make a good fic) or literally just construction idk i feel like toph isn’t a Hard Worker type that would want to be stuck in such a rigid career.

Okay mixed feelings guys.

Start with the good stuff

Walker’s acting: immaculate. Kid got his acting chops out frrr

Sally Jackson was one of the best parts of this show. She’s so much more fleshed out and I love the emphasis of Percy not just as son of Poseidon but Percy Jackson, son of our queen Sally.

The sets were so great omg. Camp and mount were awesomeee. They gave what they needed to give and more

The kids did so good!! Our little trio gave me sm happiness

Grover. Every ep I wanted to stuff him in my pocket. He’s so precioussss my little babyy

The percabeth crumbssss. The potential soulmatism is there man

The fighting was great too omg. I was super iffy about how they were gonna show a little baby go up against the god of war but it worked

Honestly from the beginning I thought they really toned down gabe but it all worked out in the end lmao

The show was very cinematic and visually appealing. The thunder and rain motifs especially

Qualms:

None of the gods felt godly to me. None of them (except for Zeus a bit) had that umph that made them intimating enough for Percy’s push back at them to be impressive. If that makes any sense (I could go into detail for the why for each god)

The Luke and percy fight at the end I felt really could have added more umph again. For me luke did an adequate job, he gave what he needed to give but in setting up for the future I feel like he could have maybe raised his voice a little more idk… along the same line, I think we needed a bit more shock value from leah to Luke’s betrayal. But honestly I think it didn’t hit bc their relationship wasn’t highlighted/emphasized enough. Hopefully maybe we’ll get some flashbacks in future seasons

They made Poseidon wayyy too fucking nice. We gotta be able to hate the guy a little bit, jesus

Still salty they didn’t include the underworld tsa lmao. Also shout out to Poseidon’s swivel fisherman’s chair

Neeeedddd it. And walker as Percy especially. When I tell you he carried the show. He’s got so much potential as an actor and he just nails the character godd

big rant on my confusion of my love for girls lmao

Hi so like, I think I’m lesbian. I’ve been thinking of the past lately and I realize that I always “chose” my crushes up until my first girl crush when I was very very young (and who knows which ones I didn’t realize where crushes) and then like when I was in 6th grade or something (I don’t remember) and started to exclusively get crushes on girls. Ive always felt invalid to label myself as lesbian because I always thought of the boy crushes i had in the past as genuine but I don’t think it was real love, I think when I was a kid chasing the dopamine of having the idea of a crush. I remember the first time I ever had a “crush” was when I learned one of my friends did when i was maybe 6 years old? It seemed like a fun thing to me, the whole summer we would tease them and talk about it, it was new and exciting, so I remember specifically choosing out a boy so I could be included in the crush thing (funny thing is I told him like 30 minutes later) but I chose that. That’s not really how crushes work. I did have good feelings about it because the idea of having a secret you’re hiding or chasing can be extremely fun, but it was never like I wanted to actually do anything or be anything with them, once I told someone well in my little kid brain it felt like I won and there was no point. That was until I got a crush unwillingly on my best friend when I was little (the first girl crush I mentioned earlier) I didn’t chose her, I’m not gonna get in to how I started having a crush on her the important thing is it was for once not up to me!! And I actually wanted to be something with her, I’d have dreams and day dream about her all the time I thought we could actually be something in the future. As I got older I did find attraction to boys, and I’ll be honest I do find men attractive kind of, in some ways, but I’ll be honest they always have androgynous faces that in my mind can pass as girls. And I don’t usually have crushes on them, nor would I even want to kiss them or anything of the sort, that makes me feel really icky. I am aroflux which means sometimes the idea of relationships even with woman makes me feel badly sometimes but I never felt sick by woman physically and I love the idea of kissing woman etc, I have a girlfriend I mean,, like I love her even when i can’t deal with Romantic attraction the other half of the time im very happy. Which I know I would not feel this comfort or happiness with a man, the presence of men make me uncomfortable and I can never even be fully comfy around my guy friends, I don’t know if that’s just me being Afab and aware but you get the point, I don’t feel attracted to men besides maybe seeing a man and thinking he can be pretty or having a crush on a fictional man. Sometimes I wonder though, maybe I’m only romantically attracted to them. I don’t know what that would make me though. Labeling is stupid and confusing. I guess I can only see myself with a woman in the future, I think my sexuality is also sort of fluid though, maybe it’s only in the way of romantic attraction to woman to no attraction or maybe it’s feeling attraction to girls and boys and then to no attraction to only one or the other?? I definitely have periods of time where I’m like hm hes attractive to times where I don’t think men are attractive even at all, it’s so weird and confusing but the lesbian label feels good besides for the fact I feel like I’m betraying my childhood self and all the “crushes” she had on boys. It’s like she’s holding the now me back, and haha I’ll be honest she’s not holding me back in just that aspect of things lmaoo. I don’t wanna betray my childhood or the friends. I know I need to do what feels right to me now though, and if the lesbian label feels good I think it’s worth trying out. Even if just for a little. Hello! I'm the Anon who asked about Bruce being self-aware.

When I said "Also, there's something of a difference between being self-aware about himself and when it comes to his kids." I meant that he says or does super hurtful stuff that he just doesn't seem to think was wrong or reflect upon when it went downhill or realising too late or sb had to spell it out for him.

Examples being:

him reading Dick's diary after taking him in as a ward to figure out what Dick wants instead of just asking, thus creating the Robin suit after Dick's designs (God, it was a Batman or Robin: year one comic book, I'm pretty sure but I don't rememer which),

saying "commendable" instead of just "I'm proud of you" to Damian (basically his "emotional constipation" as a whole, like being unable to understand or even recognize his kids feelings and then failing to say just the most normal praising/comforting/loving things.),

ignoring (or acting as if) when Damian apologizes for direspecting/ignoring previous orders and holds a cute speech about trying to listen now but Bruce just turns around like "Did you say something?",

not telling Dick that Jason is now Robin or that Jason died even though Bruce said he would call Dick (yeah, he was being petty or grief stricken, but still)

Tim's sixteenth birthday "present"

I hate to bring this up but the whole Batarang to the NeckTM situation in UTRH. His resurrected son confronts him and he fails to show a single emotion, instead immediately debating ethics and morals with him.

anything with Jason in future comics where Bruce beats him up and acts like Jason asked for it or that Bruce didn't have a choice but to do that.

bringing Jason back to Ethiopia to the warehouse where he died, so Bruce could maybe find a way to resurrect Damian after Heretic killed him (I think it was Heretic, but maybe it was sb else)

beating up any of his kids for any reason. The most he should do willingly is defend himself with defensive moves only or seeking distance. But not charging in like he wants a fight.

sending only Damian to save Alfred from Bane, which just allowed for Damian to be captured and then having to watch Bane snap Alfred's neck, and then Bruce says to Damian's face "If I had been there, I could have saved him." (Bruce prioritised his own grief over his son's grief and trauma and all that)

Bruce tells Cass she doesn't need a real life and sectret identity, that she only needs a costume and a private batcave and she'd be fine

Bruce instigates a fight where he and Cass get drugged and can communicate about their feelings through fist fighting.

Taking/ Trying to take Robin away from sb for their "own good". I don't mean benching, but full on "You're not Robin anymore, never again." but then folding a few issues later anyway. (It could be seen as very shitty parenting ig)

Like you said, Bruce gets written very inconsistently and I tried not to cherry pick too much of what I wanted to say, so I made this mess of a bulleted list. While a lot of these examples do come from his communication issues, I still wanted to include them anyway because it's taken too far with some writers (can't say "I love you" or hug his kids, although he doesn't have a problem with doing that with Clark or Diana) or he doesn't reflect on those moments or he repeats them over and over again.

I swear I love Bruce, I'm not a hater!!! He's actually my favorite character!!! 😭😭😭

I dont want this terrible Bruce on my blog!!! But also i dont want you to think i asked for clarification and then ignored you so feel free to send another ask when you see this lol. Anyways:

1. This one is in character, a little bit, because as much as we understand kids needing privacy now, i can see the way Bruce was raised (Alfred would have absolutely read his diary, that feels very in character for him) and the way Dick was (sneaking out to find Zucco) leading to him panicking and monitoring him as much as possible. That doesnt make it right mind you. The thing is if Dick hacked the bat computer Bruce would probably be proud of him, so not entirely hypocritical.

2. Also possibly in character, because again, thats how Alfred probably spoke to him. Not great, and i think the current Batman and Robin run does a much better job with their relationship, but can be chalked up to bad writing tbh.

3. No this is shitty writing. Sorry it just is!

4. This could be its own post but in summary: decisions made to launch another chracters solo or in order to make a different character look good are ignored. They wanted a Nightwing solo and decided a good launching point would be a big fight between Dick and Bruce. No thanks.

There have also been panels where Dick talks about ignoring Bruce’s calls during that time period, so this could be chalked up to mutual miscommunication if you insist. And i prefer the pre crisis origin for Jaybin, for multiple reasons.

5. I haven’t read this, ive heard of it, and its weird. It feels like point 4, but for Tim. The writers wanted a villain for his birthday comic, Bruce is right there.

6. Nah, Jason fucked around and he found out. He wanted a Batman that kills criminals, he just forgot he was also, now, a murderer and a criminal. Im only half kidding here, but the problem with UTRH is that exactly. Also the fact that Jason spent like six months doing absolutely horrible shit in Gotham, and that like 15 minutes before this showdown Bludhaven was blown up, Bruce has no idea if Dick is alive, and Jason mocks him for possibly losing another son. Also Jason is the one demanding Bruce cross his very personal boundaries here, ethics and morals are a very necessary part of the conversation!!

7. Anything where Bruce beats someone near death or uses lethal force is technically out of character. Jason comics outside of DITF and UTRH do not do enough work to give his actions the context necessary for them to be in character. RHATO #25 Is shit writing.

8. It was heretic, on Talias orders, and that whole storyline is dumb. This does feel in character, because Bruce response to grief has historically been 1 become Batman 2 attempt to commit suicide by cop/criminal so points for that consistency? I really hate this plot tho. Stop killing Bruce's kids!! The man is unstable as it is!!!

9. Out of character. I know it gets used for some god awful reason but it is so out of character unless the writer is willing to give it some serious work to provide context, (or unserious; see; Zur-En-Arrh in Gotham War. It's dumb, but it provides plausible context for Bruce beating his kids ie: it isn't technically him). Barring mind control, rejected.

10. No!! What the fuck!!! Bruce is not sending one of his kids alone against Bane there is an entire comic where he drugs them so that doesn't happen stop that!!!!

As a side note when I read that the first time I understood it as "I should not have sent you in alone because it was a task too big for you, If I had been there to help we could have saved him", but I am an optimist with too much faith in DC.

11. Absolutely bonkers statement from "please let me fire you from robin so you can have a normal life" McGee. Chalking this one up to racism and misunderstanding Bruce's character and that stupid "Bruce Wayne is the mask Hur dur" thing.

12. Ok this one feels in character actually. Somehow. At least they're talking?

13. Also feels in character actually. This one is weird because you'll see those stupid "child soldier" arguments side by side with "how dare Bruce take away Robin!". Pick a side. It's either bad parenting to let Robin exist or it's bad parenting to not let Robin exist, it can't be both!

And since these are comic books, and you need to engage with the genre in good faith or you'll have a miserable time of it, Robin exists! And is allowed to exist! At the same time, as a mentor Bruce has to be able to bench Robin, that is also a function of the mentor/mentee relationship! Basically - Bruce should be able to bench an injured/at risk Robin, but the writing for those scenarios usually wants him as a villain.

Taking away Robin completely only happens to Dick tho, and since it's after he gets shot on the job I do think it's in character.

As for "I tried not to cherry pick" babe please do so!! It's comics!! It's not canon unless you want it to be, and if you want these truly terrible Bruce's to be canon all the power to you! I want to set them on fire tho. And snort WFA like it's cocaine until all this is a bad memory jfc DC screen your writers for daddy issues I am begging you.

Thoughts on KRD's Season 4 Cinematic

So I wanted to get this out as soon as Season 4 was released, but I realized that I wanted to actually play the game before writing anything, so that’s why this is “late” lol. This was also WAY longer than I thought it would be, so I’m going to tag posts like this in the future.

But here it is! My thoughts on the Season 4 cinematic, and maybe a few theories.

Thoughts below the cut!

So, this Season is obviously Halloween-themed since this season’s duration covers the autumn months and of course Halloween itself, so it’s no surprise we’re including supernatural stuff.

In the beginning, we’re introduced to a scene of the ghostly population living in the town they inhabit, and then almost immediately the Rabbit Hole and her lackeys rush through the crowd and towards the looming castle in the background. That can’t be good.

We then see one of the new characters this Season, Draky, who makes a return from past Kartrider games. I don’t know much about him, so I’m pretty happy he’s back so I can get to know him! (Even if his story may or may not have been changed.)

He’s seen doing some sort of ritual, which was almost completed, but gets interrupted by the Rabbit Hole and co. who seem to be after that bell Draky has. A chase begins!

It may just be me, but I noticed this cinematic uses its time well, as it mainly focuses on what’s happening and the action instead of special effects or stuff that doesn’t entirely matter, if you get what I’m saying. I like that! It makes it easier to focus on what’s going on without getting distracted too much by other things.

Also, the animations are still very high-quality, and while I do prefer the more cartoon-y style they had for other collab animations, it’s starting to grow on me a bit honestly.

So Draky gets chased by them, leading them through all the twists and turns of the dark castle. Whatever that bell has inside it is important to him, and the Rabbit Hole is dead-set on getting it.

And one of Rabbit Hole’s minions actually falls out a window from going too fast I guess lmao. It got a laugh out of me because of how sudden it was because damn RIP dude 💀

And just as Draky’s about to get out of danger, the other two manage to stop him (why he couldn’t just zoom past them is beyond me.) They manage to corner him, and when he flies away as a bat, the Rabbit Hole throws a water bomb at him to stop him and steal… whatever essence is inside the bell. I have an idea of what it could be, but I’ll say more about it later.

This was a tiny bit sad, I suppose. Why did they do that to the poor guy? They must be using it for something important if they went through all that effort chasing Draky, but we probably won't get any answers about that until the next cinematic (or better, Scenario Mode.)

So with the Rabbit Hole and gang gone, Draky is left alone mad as ever, and upset. He bats the bell away, but magically, a ghost manages to arise from it. Spirit Kid! She’s also a new character this season. (She’s absolutely adorable, and I like her design very much. I guess KRD heard me wanting Tiera’s hat to emote and said “We’ll give you one better” and made a whole ghost that’s 60% hat 💀)

Seeing how upset he is, Spirit Kid tries to cheer him up and gives him the bell that he smacked away. This doesn’t make him completely happy, but at least he’s not as upset anymore with the reminder. The cinematic ends on this note, with Draky looking out the castle as it pans away. That should be it, right?

WRONG.

Because then we get another small animated clip after the main animation, and it officially reveals Miso as the Rabbit Hole, as well as the identity of her two followers… sort of!

Let me tell you I was actually happily surprised when I saw this part with a friend of mine. Not at Miso being the Rabbit Hole, but at the other two. (I will never not make fun of KRD for accidentally spoiling Miso as Rabbit Hole through a decal on the shop for like 2 days before catching their mistake it was hilarious)

Obviously, the one on the right is Rex, no one could dismiss that from his iconic outfit, but then the one on the left was a little harder to identify for me. I’m pretty sure that’s Derek, but that only leaves me with more questions for the future...

FINAL THOUGHTS (and Last minute theories)

Honestly, out of the cinematic intros we’ve gotten so far, I think this one is definitely up there because it’s the most story-driven we’ve received, and I always love learning more about KRD’s plot and lore, even if it’s bite-sized. It just makes this game more enjoyable for me as I play, knowing there's stuff going on in the background as I'm having fun racing. I can't wait for more!

I have a few possible ideas (theories) about what occurred during the animation so I’ll leave those here:

Spirit Kid’s whole deal is that she’s the little sister of Draky, but without her memories. That energy the Rabbit Hole stole from the bell is what I believe to be the rest of her- all the memories and basically what would’ve made her completely alive if they hadn’t so rudely interrupted Draky. Without it, she’s just a ghost without a body.

That minion on the left at the end of the cinematic next to Miso/RabbitHole was racing Derek, we saw them both at the same place during the WKC Season. Does this mean this Derek is a copy of some sort? Is that the real Rex, or is that also a copy? Possibly, but there’s also another idea to entertain: They’re from the same place Miso is, the future. According to the in-game description, Miso’s from the future and has come back to cause misery, so it’s possible those two were convinced (or forced) to join her crew and travel back to the past. But of course there's also the possibility of those both being the real Derek and Rex, and if that's the case, they better start explaining themselves >:(

And not really a theory but I noticed the description of the Rabbit Hole’s personal kart mentioned something called “Hexnium” and that it was powered by it/enabled it to time travel. I think it's a new material unique to KRD? I don't really have anything to say about it I just noticed it and thought it was a neat little detail.

Not a dumb question at all. Like until I listened to the album in full after making the realisation of it being the equivalent of calling your exes and asking why it didn't work, I felt the tracklist order was all over the place and felt off, but it just clicked to me upon that specific listen through. I'm going to go through it track by track below, but yeah I'm gonna put it under a read more because it'll be long lmao.

So in short, while I don't want to go as far as to call the tracklist the equivalent of a mental breakdown because that's dramatic, I do think it highlights the ebbs and flows of what goes through a person's mind when they're in a relationship that they're uncertain about the future for and unsure if they should stay in or not. Like to me the flow between one topic and another just feels more natural in a stream of that kind of mindset. My thoughts on how each track fits this is below.

Lavender Haze: The starting point of the thought process. I've always felt this song was about 2016 (first verse) and 2021 (second verse) with the bridge being a general comment and now I'm more sure than ever of that. By having both, it sets up not only how Taylor perceives fame as the main issue in her life but also why she wants to fight so badly for this relationship. I'm unsure if it's intentional but it's also interesting to have 'haze' be a part of the first song, indicating that she's not seeing clearly, but would rather be in love and not seeing clearly than consider other people's concerns in a moment where the relationship isn't working (tying in The Great War where she felt she was being betrayed by analysing someone else's [the other woman's] disregard to the relationship). With the truth now coming out that Joe was not 'handling [the scrutiny] beautifully', this song acts as somewhat of a mix of Taylor reminding herself of a time where he did and trying to convince herself that he still does and that's worth fighting for.

Maroon: Coming from a place of 'looking back at past relationships to see what didn't work when your current one isn't working', Maroon makes sense to be next because Joe and Jake are the most alike of Taylor's exes. And I mean this personally, both of them could not handle her fame/not being on her level with that being a big reason for the split and both of them being the biggest loves of her life so far. While I'm not going to talk about the order of the 3am tracks here because I don't think there's much to say past the last 3 tracks being deliberate with Dear Reader being a great closer and Glitch clearly being a sequel to High Infidelity, I also have always felt like the lyrical similarities between Maroon and The Great War (including The Great War being later on, making Maroon 'the past', like part of Jake's legacy is how Taylor interacts with lovers sadly) and to a lesser degree Maroon with Lavender Haze stick out to me whenever I listen to this album, making the similarities between the two men all the more noticeable. So yeah, the jump from what happened with Joe to what happened with Jake is the smallest and flows well when considering this angle.

Anti Hero: The spiralling moment of "god maybe I'm the problem" (no pun intended). Like especially with the "Taylor Swift is the problem" movement being at its height at the time Taylor was on again/off again with Jake, again it makes sense for this to be the next step.

Snow On The Beach: The moment of clarity of "yet despite being the problem, Joe still wanted me at my worst and things were good at the beginning when it was just the two of us".

You're On Your Own Kid + Midnight Rain: As an aside note, I've always seen YOYOK as a purely sad song, not bittersweet/happy at the end and I think this is highlighted more here. But yeah these two both acknowledge how multifaceted her feelings of fame are. Because yeah she worked her ass off and achieved all she wanted without anyone's help. No one coming into her life or leaving it can take that away from her. But it also came at a cost and has caused her a lot of pain and has been the downfall of most of her relationships (making it clear that's the fault of the guy for not being able to handle it, but she's still at the stage of blaming the fame itself). It feels natural that something like this would come after Snow On The Beach, a song about someone wanting her despite her being at her worst/things being good when fame wasn't as much of a factor.

Question: Tbh kinda a sense of "Do you know what else fame fucking ruined for me? Any chance I had with Harry", a dude who should have been able to handle it because he was at the same fame level as her. Again, with that being one of the heights of fame interfering with her love life, it makes sense to be in this section and flows well as a "it's not just that Joe isn't as famous, it's that fame is the issue" connector.

Vigilante Shit: What better time than when bitter about all the ways fame fucked you over is there to include a song about the main dude who facilitated the bad press about you and has benefited from it the whole way through? Like this song isn't just about her masters, it's about how he facilitated snakegate, how he has been alleged to have paid for every bad story about her (and Selena) to be written and more. So having Question, a song about one of the periods where the press was at its worse, flow into this makes sense.

Bejeweled, Labyrinth + Karma: The 2016 + consequences/rewards trio. It's not hard to imagine how talking about Scooter would be a small jump to Bejeweled (what was going on while he was orchestrating snakegate) and then Labyrinth was the direct sequel with Karma being the ultimate recognition that without those fallouts, she wouldn't be where she is. Like the chorus and bridge of Karma is in many ways, the song version of "without your past you could never have arrived so wondrously and brutally by design or some violent, exquisite happenstance here." from her Why She Disappeared poem. It's also the turning/decision point that yes, what her and Joe have is worth fighting for and she does want to stay (even if it is in that Lavender Haze). I do wonder/find it interesting how much of this was her convincing herself though considering that while I do 100% believe Bejeweled is purely about Calvin, it's clear that Taylor was feeling cast out at that point with Joe. Like the latter two songs almost feel like a reminder to/convincing herself that Joe is not Calvin and this is different.

Sweet Nothing: This song is not only the embodiment of the good parts of Joe and Taylor's relationship but also living proof of what they can achieve when they work together considering he cowrote for it. I know a lot of people say that they believe in the double meaning (that he didn't need anything from her professionally but also wanted someone less famous/more dependent on him) and I can definitely see that, but I would say that this song goes back to Lavender Haze in the way that it's a "well I don't like fame and would rather be home with him anyway", which again, makes him different from Calvin (at least in the moment, ultimately it sounds like it wasn't), who, we later find out in High Infidelity, Taylor felt suffocated by when put in the same position. The contrast to Calvin/2016 in general also makes it make sense why her mind would flow from Labyrinth to Karma rather than having the two Scooter songs together.

Mastermind: The counter song to YOYOK. This is the "Hell yeah I worked my ass off and played the game and look where it got us. I got to have love and fame". Very classic Taylor to finish on a high note that encompasses the main themes (her need to be loved + understood, fate vs her own actions, why this love/pain hits different [pun intended] for her etc).

3am tracks/Hits Different + other thoughts: Like I said, I don't have much to say about the non standard tracks because outside of the pairing of High Infidelity + Glitch and Dear Reader being last, I don't really think there was much of a narrative purpose for the order. If anything, all I could really add is that it makes sense that WCS (and BTTWS if it's about her growing up too fast like some think it is) makes sense to be on the deluxe because while it does fit the theme of going back and considering what went wrong with your exes, there's no direct tie in what happened with John and fame or how it led her to Joe like there is with the standard songs. Likewise the rest of them just don't really sonically/narratively fit in with the standard in my opinion, so she made the right choice having them be seperate.

What I do want to mention is that I think Aaron recently mentioning that some of his songs being written when they were at the 2021 grammys (so months before the standard tracks with Jack) is extremely interesting and may lend some insight into how long Taylor felt cast aside for as well as how this album came to be. Like I don't think it's a coincidence that the John and Calvin songs came on not only a night where she had to see John (which she has noted that she actively avoids where possible because it upsets her that much), but on a night where she once again was receiving the top award for her field without her partner being present (call back to what she said on Miss Americana about winning the 2016 AOTY grammy). Also just in general, I'd argue that out of her exes John and Calvin are more alike to each other than they are to any of the others. And before anyone says it, yes, while it's possible Joe didn't show due to Covid restrictions, given how many other things he's missed over the years and that seemingly being a main if not the reason they ultimately broke up, I'm not so sure of that anymore. Like I don't want to speculate, but I imagine the mix of those things alongside the potential issues with her and Joe's then current relationship made his absence all the more noticeable.

Likewise, I don't think it's a coincidence that the songs about Jake, Harry and fame came at a time where not only was Taylor releasing her rerecorded album from 2012, but where Joe was once again not available, this time definitely due to his own fame/career. Like it sounds harsh, but the tie between the standard and deluxe tracks seems to be Joe reminding her of her exes by not showing up.

Anyway, it's almost 2am here so hopefully this makes sense and please feel free to send more asks if it doesn't, but yeah, like this album and it's tracklist order just make a lot more sense and flows better to me since realising that it's the equivalent of calling your exes to ask where things went wrong to try and figure out what's going wrong in your current relationship in album form.

This is REALLY FUCKING LONG so hope y’all enjoy lmao. (Sorry if formatting looks weird- blame tumblr)

OK HERE WE GO PEOPLE- I will start by saying I don’t hate The Quarry. I like it very very much, but I think that it could be BETTER. Speedrun what I find lacking in the game.

1. There’s literally no ending

2. Some characters having no personality (looks at Abi and Nick)

3. Honestly they don’t feel like friends/ people who’ve worked with kids for a summer

4. They move from area to area with little reward/ purpose in the end. (Looks at Junkyard scene- like wtf was that for)

5. Also- some choices just- don’t make sense (looks at Dylan cutting off his whole ass hand with a old ass chainsaw/ fucking gun and doesn’t immediately die from blood loss/ has no worry about possible infection afterwards.)

Listen- I get that it’s supposed to be like a cheesy slasher film (“that what the VCR box covers are for” I KNOW) but I really did not get that feeling AT ALL when playing. It just felt like bad writing at times.

SO! Here’s my version: The Quarry starts off like a cheesy slasher film (beginning of the game is mostly the same- Max and Laura’s little horror movie moment, wanting to stay a day longer bc of Emma, cheesy fire pit scene…)- with all the characters playing up a certain archetype ( Emma- “popular girl”, Jacob- “stupid jock”, Nick- “try hard nice guy”, Abi- “quite nerd”. Kaitlyn- “headstrong leader”, Dylan- “comic relief”, Ryan- “brooding loner”) to 1000%, to the point where it’s almost cringe worthy. (If you can’t predict whatever stupid ass line they’re gonna say next- I don’t want it.) BUT THEN- as the night goes on they gain more depth and shit. Idk this can tie into a parallel/metaphor of the werewolf where these teens are changing into people they’re not- becoming a monstrous version of themselves in their eyes??? Idk I’m spitballing, don’t think about it too deeply.

The Hag of Hacketts Quarry will play a bigger part in the actual story- wanting revenge against the Hacketts and supernaturally influencing the teens and the wolves to try and kill all the Hacketts. The Hacketts ARE NOT ASSHOLES FOR NO REASON- they are a normal family (who treats Ryan like family too) who are trying their best to fix the mess they made, in the worst way possible. This way- the player can morally struggle if they decide to end the Hackett family bloodline.

(Beware- it is truly so long beneath this read more- I sincerely thought about just putting a link to somewhere you can read this but thought that was too much effort for everyone involved. Have fun :D)

I went really in-depth in my jumbled notes, including what different choices would look like, but I’ll follow my “Best Ending” Route bc it’s the one that gives everyone a chance to shine.

DA CHARACTERS AND THEIR ARCS:

- Dylans pretty fine as is. Add that he feels like a liar to Ryan and can’t truly date him cause he’s been putting on a persona all summer. Overcompensates with humor

- Kaitlyn- very confident in who she is (anyone who’s that good with a gun automatically is lol)- but also has bad anxiety attacks or something. Like she’s very go with the flow and know what she’s about but if she thinks about her life and future too long that’s when she starts to spiral. A true “try to casually dismiss all the problems in my life” kinda gal. (Same bestie)

- Jacob: similar to original but needs to play up his heart more, shows he really cares for his friends. Have him be very sacrificial. He’ll act like a stereotypical bro jock at first but he’ll reveal his true himbo nature later on. He acts goofy bc it makes people/the kids laugh the most but feels like maybe he’s too annoying at times/ pushes it too far.

- Emma: A pretty big influencer, convincing Hackett that a “day to day” vlog about the camp and councilors will help bring popularity/ positively impact reputation. Have her constantly blogging and preforming for the camera. Arc will be her hating that and wanting to quit but not wanting to let people down.

- Abi: Needs more personality in general. Have her go from reserved and walk overy to self confident and brave. Have her be crafty and smart (picking locks, putting together the truth?, getting out of situations cleverly).

- Fucking Nick: needs the most work of all. Why tf is he British? That’s his only personality bro. He feels like he needs to conform, his accent makes him feel like he stands out too much and people secretly make fun of him. All the other councilors have been working together for years, but he’s just joined the team this summer so he feels extra out of place. He’s a try hard, sucking up to Jacob a lot- he doesn’t need to tho, Jacob likes him as a friend/ as he is.

- Ryan just needs to either get over denial faster or make it very obvious he’s in denial and have others call him out. Main problem people had with him was he was kinda on Chris’ side, was defending them/he looked sus as hell. Highlight his relationship with the Hacketts more. Show that he’s like family to them. Also should show people look to him as their natural leader- have the others respect him more. Have him seem aloof because he didn’t really know how to interact with others, and sometimes the feelings don’t feelings so he can’t communicate/ emote his emotions that well. Would rather be seen as brooding and mysterious then incompetent at emotion.

Ok Major Backstory changes that the story revolves around-

- THE HAG HAS A BIGGER INVOLVEMENT. Basically everything’s gone to shit cause of her/ her want of revenge. Thought tonight is the perfect opportunity (all the teens there- scare them into killing Hacketts/ send Turned wolfs after Hacketts)

- Chris’ kids were being kept in the electric cages in the basement (for reasons explained later). The Hag caused a power outage that night so that’s how they escaped into the wild.

- Play up an unexplained anger towards the Hacketts/ Chris when things go to shit (it’s the Hags influence in an effort to make them kill the Hacketts)

- Only the brothers (cousins? I forgot what they were) go after the councilors, and there’s not a single thought behind those eyes so thought it was best to kidnap and hide the teens until dangers over to not risk them knowing the Truth TM.

- Ryan can only romance Dylan- sorry Kaitlyn but there was 0 chemistry/ scenes in the original so… (Also that stupid “thing” between Lauren and Ryan doesn’t exist cause it’s so pointless.)

Story lets go:

Beginning will stay mostly the same- again, play up archetypes and makes super cheesy. Jacob will take the car piece/ cut fuel line because he wants to “hang with Emma one more night” (Or so he says). Have Ryan step up after Chris leaves and be more instant that they stay in the cabin and the player can choose wether they do or don’t. (If they stay inside no one can get bit.)

Sine we’re going best ending- everyone stays inside. Just move fire pit scene to a fireplace setting. Emma and Jacob still get snacks/ gun after approval from Ryan and a promise to stick together. Have everyone play up their respective archetypes more/ longer and establish relationship dynamics. The power goes out (cause of the Hag) and the campers decide to crowd around the fireplace.

Fire place is where real personalities start to show. HIGHLIGHT HOW THEY ARE ALL FRIENDS. I mean ffs they worked with kids with each other for a whole summer (and have worked with each other previous summers), they should interact more comfortably with each other. They can talk about their summer with the campers and stupid horror stories of working with little kids during summer. Can acknowledge how they self censor themselves unconsciously etc. Have that be a set up for whatever ridiculous swears they say.

Etc etc, truth or dare- Kiss Dylan/ Kaitlyn will impact how much Ryan like Dylan back (along with how many flirty dialogue was picked). Emma and Nick- both will look hesitant but will both go through with the kiss dare (Emma being super showy about it and filming it while Nick doesn’t want to be called a coward). No one runs off cause that stupid and who tf runs off into the dark forest bc your crush kissed someone else 💀. Just show Jacob being sad and Abi also being sad but also kinda accepting her fate cause she didn’t think she was good enough for Nick anyways. Cue Awkward Tension that Dylan breaks with a joke. Emma then dare Abi to, idk, move everything in Hacketts office over by an inch. Nick volunteers to help (cause he saw how sad/ understanding she looked and wanted to talk) and they head off. Jacob says he’s gonna take a breather but Emma knows what’s up and follows him eventually.

Nick and Abi have conversation/ interaction similar to original game in Hacketts office. (“Ha, so are we actually gonna move everything?” “Let’s just move his stapler and wait for a few minutes ha, I’m not moving everything.” *Then they talk or whatever*)

Meanwhile Emma meets up with Jacob- she complains a bit or whatever and asks why Jacobs so bothered since they’re not together anymore. Reveal that Jacob never got a straight answer as to why, other then a vague “long distance won’t work”, and asks if she even truly liked him in the first place or if he actually was some summer fling. Emma will look hesitant but then BOOM GUNSHOTS ARE HEARD NEARBY (it’s the brothers trying to tranc at a werwolf trying to get in the cabin).

Everyone obviously gets concerned. They can hear scratching, whatever, more gunshot, essentially near their window. The brothers come knocking on the door, and that’s when shit goes down, everyone has to hide and run away. Would be a hold breath situation that you can fail or win as they break into the cabin. If win, Jacob will decide to eventually self sacrifice cause the brothers were close to Dylan and Abi or something. Shouts and runs out causing the brothers to follow him. After they leave Dylan says they should get help via the radio shack. Emma, Abi and Nick go to find Jacob (Nick has the gun) Dylan, Kaitlyn and Ryan go to shack after taking Chris gun.

Emma, Nick and Abi find Jacob caught in a trap yelling, the brothers putting blood on face. If Jacob took the car piece, it’ll be lost as he’s trashing around. They can eavesdrop to what they are saying into walkie talkie to gain some context early on or attack straight out. Attack sequence. Abi and Nick will team up against two hunters while Emma gets Jacob out. The hunters aren’t trying to kill them so they’re like, trying to knock the teens out at best. Cue Abi and Nick fighting for their lives lmao. Emma will get Jacob out, and you can fail the fight resulting in Nick and Abi getting captured. However, best case scenario, you pass the quick time events and everyone will run as soon as Jacobs free. Will head to the radio shack.

Jacob and Emma will hang back and try to pick up the convo they started in the cabin on way to radio shack. Maybe start to dive into the problem of Emma’s want to not disappoint her fans and how that’s affected how she acts with Jacob. Abi and Nick will also talking. Idk maybe they’ll try to compare themselves to Emma and Jacob. Like the Nick will feel like how he doesn’t fit in/ not as outgoing as Jacob, Abi feeling the same about Emma. Everyone will eventually group together together to speculate wtf is happening.

Meanwhile- Kaitlyn will hover a good distance ahead of Dylan and Ryan cause she knows what’s up with them. Says it’s to protect their sorry asses since she’s the best with a gun but is really wingmaning for Dylan lol. The conversation bw Ryan and Dylan being the same as in game cause that was cute. At shacks, everything’s mostly same with Kaitlyn hanging by the door to be on watch (she will also provide biting commentary when Dylan does his famous SOS speech etc.

K- “Wow I can’t believe I’m the only one in possession of a brain cell here.”

D-“Hey- You we’re supposed to hand over custody of it hours ago”

K-“well clearly you’ve failed to pick it up at the specified time so I’m keeping it for the weeken-“

R-“Holy shit guys can we focus on not dying rn please”)

Dylan won’t ask to amputate arm bc that so stupid and unrealistic without proper medical equipment. He will be bit if opened door in first chapter with Abi, no choice to cut off arm/ stop effects. But in Best RouteTM Abi doesn’t opens the door. Continue as usual with the second group arriving, hiding in the cabin and attracting the wolf, and Dylan chasing it away with radio frequency. The group meets up, (Could include Emma’s air freshener/mace scene with Dylan when he opens the cabin door bc that shit was funny) and hears Lauren injuring the daughter. (Ok I thought long an hard about it but I think the player should have the opportunity to save all the Hacketts. I can’t make it possible to save everyone but one- it’s not very rewarding. SO INSTEAD- she only injured the daughter but thinks she killed Chris because 1) she couldn’t get close to the body to verify with all the councilors immediately rushing onto the scene and 2) thought that just shooting a silver bullet would do the trick and didn’t think much about aiming for the head/ heart- so she just got her in like the leg). The teens will see this Thing passed out by the water- that’s clearly not a bear- and freak tf out. The immediately hide in the swimming pool area. The daughter wolf will be heard retreating bc she’s got this bullet scorching her from the inside in her leg and is weak from the water puddles near the pool.

Ok here Jacob will confess to messing with the car. Bc that didn’t get talk about at all in game. Everyone will be outraged of course. Emma will be like wtf are you serious rn. Jacob defends himself like “I just wanted to talk- I felt like we wouldn’t get another chance- I just wanted tonight to be fun I literally had no idea this was gonna happen.” Admit he lost the piece if he took it. Eventually Ryan says he forgives him. Some people (Emma? Abi?) can be like wtf but Kaitlyn will chime in and agree like- “it’s in the past, there’s literally nothing we can do. If werwolves weren’t a thing this probably would have been the best night ever, just hanging with you all one last time.” Everyone will reflect on that- Jacob will look grateful. Ryan will agree like, “we need to keep our heads on straight anyways- Kaitlyn is 100% right- it’s in the past. Lets focus on what to do next/ how to survive”

(If either Abi, Nick got bit - here would be a transformation/ shooting scene, similar to the original, but since this is the Best Route and no one’s bit we shall move on)

Nervous breakdowns time (yay) especially from Ryan. He keeps trying to keep the situation under control and downplay/ logic his way out through increasingly ludicrous excuses. Dylan will call him out/ calm him down (though this can be done by Kaitlyn if Dylan’s romance points are low). Big Time will pass with them trying to think of what to do and passing back and forth information/ evidence player has collected when Laura knocks. They’ll move to main room to crowd around door. Continue as game. Have Ryan act more leader-ly with the others huddling together behind Jacob, and Kaitlyn (who still have both guns bc it’s stupid how one of them gets lost in the original game) who are on either side of Ryan. Continue as usual as Laura explains where she’s been.

Everything there’s the same. Backstory wasn’t wasn’t awful in my opinion. Travis asks for help, she agrees yadda yadda. HOWEVER- I think his reasoning for her helping him was a bit shit tho. So- he’s kept her there to watch her boyfriend turn to convince her that helping him will save Max (Bigger chance of finding them, if only slightly though he’ll take any help at this point). She’ll agree bc it’s canon she’ll do anything to save Max. Hell, LET TRAVIS ACTUALLY BRING HER HIS FINDINGS AND PLAN SHIT WITH HER (but he doesn’t tell her everything- just enough info to plan to kill Silas). They’ll work as a ACTUAL TEAM and wait till the next full moon. Time skip a month, plan is Laura and Travis will split up trying to find the wolf in the woods. Laura brings Max cause she doesn’t want him locked up alone/ doesn’t fully trust Travis to not pull some shit. Understands Silas has an attachment to that burnt circus and focuses there before spreading out. Boom power outage happens, Travis gets called to house. Laura goes on to “kill” the daughter thinking it’s Chris, yadda yadda, visit island, etc. She’ll note Max escaped (because be fr no way a werwolf is bested by a fucking locked trapped door when he can just burst through the roof or something) and gets chased off the island similar to Emma in the original (QTE and all). NOTE: There will be another wolf who joins the chase near the end (Spoiler alert- it’s Chris cause he knew he wouldn’t be able to make it to the cages in time) If she fails enough QTE she has her werewolf bite, but again- Perfect Route so that doesn’t exist and her eye will forever be fucked (Kinda cheep for them to give her this gruesome injury only to magic it away :/).

Present day. Cue pissed off everyone about how Chris/ the Hacketts willingly put them and LITTLE KIDS in danger. Play up that unexplained anger in everyone, though Ryan’s is a bit more low-key. Laura learns of the power outage, that the thing she shot wasn’t dead - and says “welp I don’t have time for this I’m off to hunt Chris’s ass down for real this time.” Have Ryan intervene and convinces her to let him talk to the Hacketts to properly explain what tf is happening. Again, the Hacketts are not assholes cause that’s cheap. Really have Ryan drive home that he thinks of them like family and Vice versa. (Cause like Chris cares for him, he’s on good standing with his kids, if the parents/brothers lives on campus why isn’t he good with them too???) Have Ryan pled with her to not harm the Hacketts. That he’ll help her hunt down Silas (They all will- everyone volunteers) and their best bet is gathering all the info from the source. Offers to take her to the Hacketts residence so they can hear the explanation together (half because he doesn’t trust her not to go off by herself and kill Chris). Laura agrees cause they might also have an idea where Chis is, but is willing to at least hear what they have to say. Meanwhile Emma, Jacob, Abi and Nick will head back to camp while Dylan and Kat go to find a car part to replace. Kaitlyn will say only her and Dylan will go bc it has less a chance of someone else getting hurt and really what’s one more person gonna help against a friking werwolf. Ryan agrees and everyone splits off, each group having a gun for protection.

IN THE CABIN:

The gang will hole up in Chris’s office bc staying in the cellar is useless and scary.

Nick and Abi will hang by the bedroom/ be elsewhere while Emma and Jacob finally get the the root of their problems in the main room. Similar to Abi and Emma’s convo in the original, perhaps Emma is trying and failing to maintain her persona as she’s record everything for evidence/ diary log sake. Jacob will ask why she’s still pandering to an audience. He says that he felt like he rarely spent time with the real her. Emma has her heart to heart where she feels like it’s all she has- how she understands it’s why their relationship was so strained in the first place but couldn’t break free from her following that easily. She broke up with him not cause of lack of wanting to make long distance work or lack of love but because she felt like he didn’t deserve to date someone like her: their entire relationship being founded and so tightly integrated with this fake personality she’s created. Like said before- she hates it and what it’s done to her life but it feels like a switch she can’t turn off sometimes and the guilt of letting down people who constantly praise her for being a source of happiness and entertainment is enough to stop her from attempting to fix that. Jacob listens and understands- he felt at times he was putting on a tough/goffy act like she does. Cause it makes people smile the most. That he’s not sure if his everyone even likes him all that much or if he’s too annoying. Plus he feels responsible and super guilty for everyone being stuck here.

Abi and Nick will then interrupt saying they’ve heard enough - having eavesdropped on the whole convo.

Abi and Nick will say theirs heart to hearts to those two. Abi starts by saying that Emma has no reason to fear everyone being disappointed in her because she’s awesome the way she is. Emma never really played up the part around Abi that much since she doesn’t like the camera/is camera shy so she know how Emma really acts (which isn’t that different from the persona she plays. Her friendliness and her kindness of reaching out to anyone not included is very much there) . Claims that the true followers don’t like her for the drama she creates but the kindness and affection she has towards her friends and the kids. Goes on to complement her and her people skills. She understands her following is important to her but tells her that she really has no reason to be afraid to reveal her true self since she’s already so great, that the people who really love her content will stick around.

Nick could bring up the kiss dare between him and Emma- how unhappy she looked after. Say that he held his tongue bc he felt like he didn’t have the right to say anything since he’s not THAT close with her- but now says that he see how taxing performing all the time is on her- and how she deserves to be able to do whatever she wants.

THEN he rears to Jacob to say AND YOU WDYM YOURE TOO ANNOYING??? YOU LITERALLY SACRIFICED YOURSELF FOR EVERYONE WDYM YOU THINK EVERYONE HATES YOU? He reassures that while he was really PISSED at him for messing with the car- before everything turned to shit it WAS a fun night and it honestly Chris’s fault for hosting a fucking kids camp while being a werwolf/ near werwolf ground. He goes on to say his insecurities- that Jacob is the only guy to make him feel included. That he was the one who constantly reached out to Nick when Nick felt outcasted because he’s a new counselor and his accent (idk kids would probably mildly make fun of that shit and he’s been mocked in the past so not good combo ig) Jacobs his roll model- and perhaps he’s been trying a little too hard to fit in but he wants to be liked in the same way everyone likes Jacob.

Abi agrees and says how Jacob would always reach out to her and Ryan (two of the more shyer members of the group) whenever they did something. It pushed her out of her comfort zone but it was honestly what she needed- otherwise she wouldn’t have been as close with/ even talked to the others now. Goes on to say he was a good person who helped whoever needed it- counseled or kid.

THEN A WERWOLF HOWLES IN THE DISTANCE (or wherever the fuck they do). They’re safe but that spurs them to try and piece together everything so far. Mayhaps depending on how many clues the player finds affects if they can piece together the Hag’s revenge / can actually come up with a plan or not?

MEANWHILE- Dylan and Kaitlyn go to the junkyard to look for the part. They ALSO have a good heart to heart. Kaitlyn sees Dylan STRUGGLING IN THE TRENCHES with Ryan. Dylan thinks Kaitlyn likes Ryan cause of her little “dark brooding and mysterious joke” and tries to ask her opinion on the other councilors (But he really wants to know about her opinion on Ryan). She sees right through that shit but still messes with him- (this can 100% be a player choice to either keep going to another camper or just say “like Ryan?” lmao) like “Oh Emma? She funny as fuck and always so kind despite her popular bitch online persona. Jacob? a himbo (he’s trying), I’m jealous of Abis drawing talent like wtf, Nicks super chill and he was a riot with the kids (lmao do you know how many kids had crushes on him?)”.

Eventually Dylan will be like “don’t make me say it”- Bla bla banter- “so……. do you like Ryan??? Plz stop laughing I need to know, Kaitlyn this isn’t funny” and Kaitlyn just laughing her ass off like “boi im aroace” (ok maybe this is me projecting) but she can just say “I was JOKING LMAO IM NOT INTO HIM” and Dylan will be like“……..ok- but like what about that Laura girl do you think he’s into her? He’s probably into her right? I mean she’s so badass and she very competent which I am totally NOT so-“ and Kaitlyn will turn to him and dead-pan say “ you dumb bitch first of all she’s taken- she’s literally hunting down werewolf’s BECAUSE of her boyfriend what makes you think she’ll let Ryan’s skinny ass make a move on her?”

Romance point level will effect Kaitlyns advice. With a high amount she’ll say “plus he’s totally into you.” Cue spluttering from Dylan and lame excuses (wow this is really rom-comy) and she’s like upupupup. Now if Ryan kissed Dylan she can bring that up but if he kissed Kaitlyn then she can comment how disappointed he looked at himself. She’ll be like- “he’s so into you- I mean, I overheard you telling him about your nerdy alter ego back when we were heading for the radio. You had a total Rom-Com moment“ *cue more spluttering from Dylan* Kaitlyn will laugh but then she’ll be like “ok but seriously- that guy is really into you man. He talks more around you then anyone else- he seems interested whenever you talk- hell! You even told him about you’re nerdy science side and he was not fazed.“

I can’t handle rejection full stop.” (Insert more self deprecating things here about a feeling of fake confidence and such whenever he interact with Ryan because he can’t handle him not liking how he truly is)

“well fuck that man- I mean we’re still teens right? Listen- I know what it’s like, to be afraid of the future ok?” Kaitlyn will then go on to say how she used to meticulously worry about her future, whether she’d be able to survive the “adult world” on her own. Was constantly trying to plan for the future that she didn’t realize she was wasting her present. And it didn’t even matter anyways because it’s impossible to plan for the future. She was only supposed to be a sub councilor to cover for Jacob for a few weeks but seeing how carefree and happy Dylan, the kids, just everyone was made her realize how uptight she was about being constantly prepared for anything. She’s still afraid of what the future will hold of cause but she won’t superficial things stop what she wants to do now,- “just like I won’t let your fear of possible rejection stop you from AT LEAST shooting your shot. Like being rejected right now, would not even be close to the top worse things that have happened tonight. We’ve quite literally almost died like three times and counting and found out that werewolves are real.“ She then goes on to complement Dylan’s smarts and humor, his instinct to cheer up anyone who needs it. (“Would you honestly want to date someone you can’t be yourself around? If he doesn’t like “Dylan Dylan” that’s on HIM not YOU.”) Goes on to say that Ryan should be so LUCKY as to date a dude like him and-

“In fact… I want you to promise me. Pinky promise me you’ll ask him out at the end of this nightmare.” And Dylan will be like “lol if we survive” she’ll be like *dead pan stare* “all the more reason to survive right?” And Dylan’s like. Fuck she’s right- and Is lowkey inspired to go ask him out rn- but there is a time and a place and when better to drop a bombshell like a crush then at the end of a traumatic experience such as this- the movies always do it… so he promises- yay. (Can actually choose wether or not to confess to Ryan at the end) They continue looking for the car piece and can actually acquire it if they survive all QuickTime events and Dylan’s not bit. (Cause them not getting anything is stupid af.)

MEANWHILE MEANWHILE Ryan and Laura. Same as usual- except he will actually say something about Dylan and not his stupid ass dismissive response. No flirting bw the two of them, that was also stupid af. Ryan could quickly confess how he’s not been the best with emotions/ has never been in a relationship so he has no idea what to feel/do with Dylan. Laura can give him some advice and tell him how she feels when she’s around Max (He makes me laugh, we support each other through tough times, I tell him my fears and he understands and makes me feel safe/valid, etc.) Little oh moment for Ryan there. They show up in the room and the Hackets are merely mildly arguing about Chris and the kids running around. Travis notices Ryan and Lauren and is like tf????? Why? How tf did you get here? Ryan’s like- we fell through a hole 😔. Anyways Ryan asks for clarification- lowkey breaking down about the situation. The Hacketts are like fuckkkkk- yeah sorry man and comfort him.

EXPLANATION TIME. Travis would turn to Laura and be like- I didn’t tell you everything bc I didn’t fully trust you wouldn’t just kill my brother and she’s like “😬 yeah… I understand man” Anyways. So backstory’s mainly the same. Daughter and son free Silas-etc. THE HAG HAUNTS THEM. She wants them DEAD. Eventually learned of how to end it all - gotta kill Salis. Hunt begins with everyone gathering on full moon to try and find them. Chris and kids were kept at jail with silver painted walls at first to contain them. However couldn’t be a permanent since they were slowly building a tolerance to the silver paint and could break out. Planning to use the island, but needed to prepare it to make it totally isolated. Months ago- Travis suddenly suggested they store the others in the electric cages- in case the bars fail them now. (really he kidnapped Max and Lauren and we’re keeping them in the cells so he needed an excuse to place Chris and co. elsewhere) Says more people can keep an eye on them- they can tranq em or whatever if they get too rowdy- etc. they agree- it works and the werewolves seem to almost recognize the Hacketts- inspiring them to hold them in the cages again the next full moon (aka today). However- power outage happened and they escaped while everyone else was preparing/hunting. Mother and Father can’t leave the house (cause they old and be in the most in danger) called back Travis to protect them- sent the brothers after the kids. Again- there’s not a single though behind those eyes and they though that just kidnapping them/ covering them in blood without telling them what’s actually happening will protect them from idk the government? Preventing the information that werewolf’s exists from escaping and their involvement? They were arguing about fully telling the councilors or not since Travis already told Laura stuff and where Chris could be cause he’s not there.

Ok so NOW- Laura becomes like- progressively upset? Like tell me why tf would you endanger kids like that- why would you endanger US LIKE THAT? and like she be pointing the gun and shit- and maybe the Hag can be seen in like the corner just- lurking. And as Ryan you can intervene or not. If does he takes the gun from her and no one dies. The lights flicker (implied the hag is mad they didn’t kill a Hackett ). They then hear werewolves enter/attack the house. Travis mentions there are powerful tranqs/tranq guns in this storage esc room- tells them to get em and don’t kill any wolf that isn’t white cause that’ll be someone they know. Tranqs won’t last long so Travis will try to get the parents out of the house, suggests they do the same after they get the tranqs. They all split up. Depending on how many people turned will determine how many wolves are in the house. In this Route- it’s only Silas, the daughter and the son.

Cue quick time events, getting to the room, getting the gun, the daughter chasing them halfway through. Laura will get attacked, Ryan will pick up her shotgun and aim it- do the aim thing, make it like super quick- supposed to not do anything and he’ll be like- oh shit wrong gun and get out the tranq, and quick time events to shoot? After Ryan and Laura get the gun they go can head back in to save the others or leave.

Leaving will kill the Hacketts/ led to Ryan heading back to the cabin to wait it out with everyone else while Laura goes off to kill Chris (she figures he’s the second wolf on the island- will quickly add this route leads to the of shooting one of the two werewolves, Wolf!Max or Wolf!Chris Al la DBH style, being able to tell who to shoot via wolf’s body language/ one of the wolves recognizing her and seemingly holding back).

Travis and the brothers will be mildly injured, point the kids to other room where last saw parents, son is about to attack the mom, quick aim thing where have to shoot tranq before dad kills the son. SALIS STALKS OUT THE SHADOWS. He’s 1 v 7 so he tries to make a break for it, Laura shoots and hits his leg before it leaps out the window. Boom all Hackets saved, Hag is PISSED next time you see her.

Decide it’s best to stick together bc horror movies always get that wrong. Travis tells kids he’ll escort them back to cabin where they will hunker down till morning- it’s too dangerous to go hunting for Salis now with this many loose wolfs. Laura’s like fuck that I’m not abandoning my boyfriend- we’re killing this mf tonight or I go after Chris myself. (Present same island logic as other route). Mans is like ok- well- if we’re gonna do this we’ll need to involve everyone then- more manpower the better. So go off to cabin to plan, driving everyone in Travis’ car to get there fast.

Back at cabin they realize the connection bw Hag and Salis and how she prolly wants revenge. Cue someone being like, “yeah I was like unnaturally murderous towards Chris all night, for some reason.” And everyone’s like “you too?” Travis and co. arrive. Dylan will hug Ryan in relief- cue Kaitlyn and Laura winking it up. Talking bla bla, planning bla bla. Cabin group says their Hag/ Silas theory- Travis tells them about the daughter and sons involvement in the fire, Abi puts together maybe she wants revenge, Ryan chimes in saying they literally got attacked by all the wolves like 5 minutes ago. Decide to use Hacketts in open area as bait in to lure Salis out. Everyone else will try to tranquilize the other wolfs like last time/ lure them away in time to get Sailis alone and kill him. If got the car piece the car will be available to assist.

Boom- huge fighting/ hiding sequence. Takes place in a huge clearing surrounded by woods. Starts with Travis and parents calling out and mocking the Hag and Salis. (If councilors turned they appear here in wolf form along with Silas). Silas, the daughter and the son appear. Normal wolves appear as like allies/ backup💀. Pairs attracts attention and gets chased by regular wolfs while Laura and Kaitlyn try to kill Silas/ deal with the family. (cause they’re the best shots)

Three tranq guns- one for each other pair. The pairs being Emma/Dylan, Abi/Jacob, Ryan/Nick. ??? Idk we need the others interacting with each other.

(Emma Dylan have a sassy duo vibe. Abi exasperated by Jacobs simpleness but still appreciate his confidence and presence. Ryan and Nick are unusual besties. Know about others respective crushes and talk about them. Dylan’s romance point changes Ryan’s dialogue (“Yeah he’s so *dies in vague flailing hand gestures* ”- or “idk after tonight idt I can handle dating someone rn”))

BOOM shit goes down, the wolves appear. Starting from one duo- after running and fighting, go to next duo and switch to their pov. Lots of QTE. Have everyone interacting together as a group/ with others. Idk at least helping each other off ground/ protecting them in battle as group grows.

Meanwhile- Kaitlyn and Laura fighting for their lives against son, daughter and Silas. Travis police car will be used here to help protect the Hacketts from danger, while fixed van is used to drive out of range from attacks/ provides extra protection. Epic battle, saving Travis and parents from attacks. Brothers and parents in charge of tranqing the son and daughter. Travis body slams Silas with the fixed car, Laura shoots to immobilize him and Kaitlyn makes the final shot. Boom everyone’s saved.

Ends with everyone making it to the clearing as Kaitlyn makes final shot, Hag screams etc. Group hug with councilors, all crying with relief night is over

Actual Ending scene yay. Begins with Laura and Travis finding Max and Travis in the island. Emotional reunion with Laura and Max, her fretting over his appearance and health, Vice versa while Travis and Chris do that sibling nod. Though once Travis mentions it’s over- like truly, fully over, they hug too. Honestly, include something acknowledging the shit Travis has done/ gone through to cover his family’s asses. After they part sees Laura staring him down. Chris will then recognize Lauren and Max and start profusely apologizing, saying how he truly never meant for any of this to happen and how sorry he is for knowingly putting a lot of people in danger. Laura says she can’t speak for everyone but she won’t/can’t forgive or forget but she understands his desperation to fix things to make his loved ones back to normal. They all head back to the cabin .

Everyone else/ survivors waiting on cabin porch as sun comes up.

Dylan and Ryan pair off (Kaitlyn and Nick giving thumbs up then looking at each other like YOU??! Knew too????) Cue confession scene from Dylan- could ask for number properly (haha rule of threes). Ryan will then confess his character thing about not properly knowing what he’s feeling towards Dylan, has never really been in a relationship before, isn’t the best at showing or processing his emotions etc etc. but likes the idea of being in one with Dylan (aw- cut to Dylan being flustered as fuck as he really didn’t expect this lmao). Interaction end with Ryan offering to share his earbuds with Dylan. (“So… I’m surprised you’ve managed to keep your earbuds all night. Been listening to that podcast all night?” “Ha ha. Actually, I kinda forgot these were here. … … want to listen to the Hag episode with me and laugh at what they got wrong?” “Fuck yeah”)

Something bw Nick and Abi? Show with banter that shows a more self confident Abi and Nick. Could either stay friends or pursue the romantic relationship (honestly I can see either being good). Emma and Jacob discuss how they won’t get back together for now but will rebuild their relationship without that block of trying to impress others.

Laura and Max joins the others as Chris is seen talking with his kids and family a ways away. End with all councilors bantering with each other similar to beginning, except dynamics have changed. (Laura introduces Max properly- him and Dylan immediately hit it off- cut to Laura and Ryan rolling their eyes at their shitty puns. Kaitlyn complementing Laura’s gun skills and asking where she’s learned. Jacob congratulating Ryan, was rooting for them the whole time. Nick discussing science shit with Dylan??? Idk really- can make it feel cheesy lol, just make them interact outside of usual pairs) Eventually they all sit down- the exhaustion hitting as the sun starts peaking over the horizon. Someone ( Abi?) goes like “were all going to be traumatized for life from this night… aren’t we.” “Oh for sure” “Cant wait for the nightmares” “at least we have humor to unhealthy cope” as cop cars roll in.

Podcast bit went on too long- was good concept but way too long. Shorten that a lot + better visuals then just a screen. Maybe show the campers all listening to it in various places? Can show a bit about how/where they are outside of camp.

Chapter 10 -  I Ruin a Perfectly Good Bus

Theme of the day: Foresight

Foresight can basically have two meanings: prudence or provision for the future, and being able to see the future. There was a bit of both in this chapter!

We get a look into what the trio packs for their quest, including items that Chiron/CHB provides. They get useful provisions like ambrosia and nectar for wounds, mortal cash and drachmas for all their regular and godly transactions. Percy has very few possessions with him at the camp, as was already mentioned when he moved to cabin 3, so he just has basic essentials. Annabeth has a cool hat and a wicked dagger, but also a book bc a girl’s gotta stay entertained somehow while stuck traveling with two boys across the country lol. Grover has his items to disguise himself as human, a reed pipe for his goat magic except he only knows two (2) songs, and lots of snacks for the long roadtrip. Although most of all this gets destroyed at the end of the chapter sjdkfhs. But just when you think Percy is going out their weaponless, he receives good old Riptide! Whoever enchanted her must’ve been like there’s a kid who’ll use this in the future who can’t keep pens on him for the life of him and they’re probably the realist person in this series. Did Percy a solid lol.

The Hermes shoes Luke gives to Percy, at face value, is foresight on Luke’s part. Seemingly, he wants them to help Percy in someway on his quest. I completely forgot about the shoes tbh, but they’re an important part of the plot later on lol, and a clue to who the traitor is. Because they’re programed to drag the wearer into Tartarus when they enter the underworld and deliver certain godly attributes to a certain Titan. So ig the shoes are Luke’s foresight, just not in the way we might initially expect. Although he definitely didn’t have the foresight that Percy wouldn’t be the one wearing the shoes lmao. Should’ve thought about how a son of Poseidon can’t take to the skies! I wonder if Luke’s awkwardness in wishing Percy good luck was bc he knew that he shouldn’t care, but did anyway. I’m not a Luke apologist in anyway, but he’s such a complicated character that he’s fascinating to analyze lol. And the way Percy admires him!! It’s so cute. Makes the betrayal so much more tragic ;A;

There’s lots of foreshadowing this chapter. Besides the shoes, Kronos is mentioned, Medusa is indirectly referenced, the hints with the Furies saying where is it, and Prometheus is also mentioned although he’s not officially introduced until book 5. I’ll even include the tourist that takes a picture of crazed Percy fleeing the bus in the list too lol. There might be others I missed.

Backtracking a little, I know Grover meant well when talking about Sally, but I wouldn’t tell someone that they should be grateful when a decision or action results in abuse in some way. Like yes, Sally having the foresight in keeping Percy around someone that could mask his demigod smell was a good thing in the long run, but they both suffered from it. I don’t blame Sally at all, because all she wanted was for her son to survive. And who knows what she herself had to deal with when Percy wasn’t around. Maybe he was around for the worse parts and it’s just not narrated. Maybe it wasn’t the best decision per se, but the other options were either Percy dying or Percy growing up without a father and a mother, so 🤷🏾‍♀️ Can you imagine how he would’ve felt if Sally just left him at camp as a small child. Like they still could’ve kept in contact but Percy probably wouldn’t feel good about it. We might’ve gotten a different story if that was the turn of events. There would be no blue in Percy’s life! Like.... what would Percy be without his obsession for the color blue??

Anywho, it’s late and I’m ranting 😂 I’ll end it with a pondering over what exactly Chiron heard in these prophecies he keeps mentioning 🤨

I’ll never get over when we found out Riptide is a girl and the Sword of Summer proceeded to flirt with her lolol

I can’t tell whether Argus is winking at Percy for his pizza joke or charmed by the preteen flirting lol. The very first Percabeth shipper xD

He is biologically Lila’s and Diego’s. Now before you say anything like he is to light, everyone comes in a different shade no matter who your parent is. Genetics is like riding your bike blindfolded. You have no idea what comes next.

Anyways, as i was saying, Lila flipped out when she found out she was pregnant with Stan. And she didn’t know what to do.

So throughout her pregnancy she knew one thing, she was going to give Stan up for adoption. To whoever the hell wants the baby.

Technically Stan was born in the 80s Germany, around the same time Lila met Trudy.

One night Lila had a freak out over being a mother to an 6 month old baby and left Stan with Trudy.

She told Trudy she would be back soon she just needed air, but her soon was 12 years later.

Trudy adopted Stan when he was a baby and was his mother for years. Maybe Not the best but she tried her hardest considering she wasn’t prepared for a baby.

Lila comes back 12 years later, well for her it’s only been 2 years. She pops in while Trudy is gone on a trip leaving the kid there. She pretty says on the lines of:

“Hey IM your actual mom, also a superhero of some sort. How would you like to go to the future and meet your day who doesn’t know you exist and also is a superhero”.

Stanley agrees because he is Stanley. That’s all there is to it.

So then Stan meets his dad and bonds. Neither Lila nor Stan tell Diego anything about Stan’s past.

Including the part where she didn’t raise him for 12 years And that Stan DIDNT even know his mom until a day before he met his dad.

Then when Diego finds out he gets pissed, bc how can someone abandon their child until they are useful to them? Though he is thankful he met Stan before Stan became an adult with mother and father issues lmao.

“steve perry is so hot, woo!” your sister shouted. 

“you have a boyfriend, marcy!” you laughed. “gabe doesn’t have to know,” she winked.

"that was awesome! i am so glad chase bailed,” marcy giggled as you both left the venue.

“maybe your great-grand kids will want to be vampires,” you shrugged. “i think joey wants to. he’s fourteen and he knows everything about them. not sure his mother wants him to become a “monster” or whatever,” marcy rolled her eyes. 

you smiled, “maybe it’s for the best.”

“oh, please, if you didn’t become a vampire, we probably never would’ve have gotten close again.”

“it’s amazing how changing our species was what it took to bring us back together,” you snorted. 

“weird how the world works,” marcy giggled. 

she got out the keys to her bmw, slipping into the driver’s seat. you climbed into the passenger seat, buckling yourself in and turning on the radio. 

“you want to listen to more music? we just spent three hours screaming like, 50 songs,” marcy said. 

“i could always go for some cyndi lauper,” you grinned, turning up the radio and dancing in your seat. 

“you’re gonna be up all night, aren’t you?” marcy raised her brow. “hopefully chase will be, too,” you giggled. 

“mm, knowing him he’ll be asleep. it’s two in the morning.”

“maybe he will wake up for me,” you shrugged. 

marcy bit her tongue as she thought of what to say. you sighed, knowing what she was thinking. chase was an asshole, but you loved him.

“do you think gabe is still awake?” you asked, changing the subject. “maybe. i don’t know, he might have gone out for a late-night snack,” marcy guessed.  “you think he saved you anything?” 

“no, he’s always been a greedy feeder,” she rolled her eyes. “kinda like you,” you smirked.  she scoffed, “ i have better control than him! and you, actually.”

“excuse me?” you raised your brows. “yeah, you fed on like fifty people tonight. i only fed on ten,” she stated matter-of-factly. 

i snorted, “would you like a medal?”

“yes, i would, actually,” marcy nodded with a grin.

you laughed, “i’ll give you one of the medals scotty won.”

“i think he’d want you to have that,” marcy said. “says who?” you asked. 

“says like, all of our family. i never got to know him until the last five years of his life. you’re the one who helped him to breast feed.”

“yeah, he was such a difficult baby. no wonder why mom kept be for two years to take care of him,” you laughed, a little melancholy. you took marcy’s hand, squeezing it for comfort. “i told him about you all the time. he admired you a lot more than he admired me or mom, or his dad. he became a nurse because of you, even though all his friends thought that he was “girly” for being a nurse. he didn’t care. he wanted to be just like his big sister.”

marcy glanced over at you, giving him a thankful smile. “thanks, y/n. i just wish i got to know him earlier.”

you shrugged, “you had three kids and a marriage you had to pay attention to. it’s not your fault that you didn’t get to know him earlier. life just kind of got in the way.”

“yeah, well, i’m thankful you turned me so i wasn’t dead before he turned 40,” marcy chortled. 

“too bad we couldn’t turn him,” you frowned. “like you said, life got in the way. it has its own path for us, and scott wasn’t meant to live forever. it’s okay,” marcy said. 

“yeah,” you looked out of the window, “it’s okay.”

marcy parked outside of your home thirty minutes later. 

“have fun,” marcy smiled. “i’ll try. tell gabe i said hi,” you said as you got out of the car. 

“will do. i’ll talk to you tomorrow,” marcy said. “see you,” you smiled before you walked away. 

you got your keys out of your purse, unlocking your front door and entering your home. all the lights were off except for the little nightlights you kept in the corners to keep soft light in your rooms. 

you took off your coat and shoes, putting them in the closet. you hung up your purse on the kitchen chair, tip-toeing up the stairs to your room. you peered into your bedroom, smiling a little as you saw your boyfriend sleeping soundly. he was clutching your pillow, his nose buried in it. he wasn’t so horrible all the time. 

you slipped into the room as quietly as you could. you went to your closet, taking off your clothes and slipping into your pjs. as you closed the closet, chase woke up.

“hey, baby, how was the concert?” 

you turned around slowly, a little startled by his voice in the silence. “it was really fun.” 

“looks like it. it’s 3 AM,” he glanced over at the clock. “i wish i could’ve gone with you.”

“well, you had the chance,” you chuckled sourly. 

chase sat up in bed, sighing. “i’m sorry. i’ll go with you next time.” 

“you better,” you sauntered over to him. 

he turned the lamp on, smiling as you walked over to him. he held his arms out and you sat down on his lap, straddling his waist.

“did marcy call steve perry hot?” he asked. “only like, ten times,” you snorted.

“did you call anyone hot?” he questioned.

“only you,” you grinned. your eyes fluttered close as you leaned down to kiss him. a clattering sound broke you two apart. you would’ve fallen if you didn’t have excellent balance. 

“what was that?” chase asked. he started to get up, but you stopped him. 

you stared into his eyes, putting your hands on his shoulders. “let me check it out.” 

“okay,” he nodded after a few seconds. you kissed him on the cheek, giving him a smile before you left the room. 

you ran downstairs, grabbing a knife from the kitchen. although you were a vampire, an extra weapon always came in handy. you tip-toed through the downstairs, looking into the windows. it wasn’t until you got to the front door when you got startled. there was a figure outside your window. it looked like a man’s silhouette. 

“who the hell is messing with me at this hour?” you grumbled to yourself. you swung the front door open, stunned to see that the man disappeared. you went outside, fear filling your chest. you had only been this afraid three times in your life. once was when marcy  caught you with a boy in your room, when you got chosen to be turned into a vampire, and now. you hated the feeling of being scared, but you knew it was a normal response. just because you were a vampire didn’t mean you were invincible — kinda.

“hello?” you stepped out onto the porch. you held up the knife, ready to use it. you looked around your yard, seeing nothing but a broken flower pot. you put the end of the knife in your mouth, bending down to pick up the flower pot.

“y/n?” a familiar voice spoke.

you turned around, whipping the knife out of your mouth and holding it up. your eyes widened and you gasped as it was stefan who had been outside this whole time.

“s-stefan?” you stammered, absolutely flabbergasted.

“hey,” he offered you a warm smile.

you couldn’t believe it. 60-plus years had gone by and you had never seen him until now. he looked different. he was wearing leather and demin, his hair was unruly, and not slicked-back like how you remembered. he looked kinder and a little older, too, even though you knew he can’t age. maybe not older but wiser. 

your vision was suddenly blurred, tears ran down your cheeks slowly. 

“what are you doing here?” you asked. 

“i finally tracked you down,” he said excitedly. 

“f-finally? you’ve been trying to find me this whole time?” your chest warmed at this. 

“yeah, that’s what i’ve been spending most of my time doing,” stefan confirmed.

“i’m sorry i’ve made it so hard for you to find me,” you chuckled. stefan laughed with you and shrugged. “it’s alright. love isn’t supposed to be easy.”

“l-love?” you gasped, blinking rapidly. 

“yeah,” he nodded with a small smile. he walked up to you, taking the knife out of your hand and placing it onto the porch ledge. he then took your hands into his, moving closer to where you could feel his breath on your lips. 

goosebumps rose up on your arm, electricity surging through your veins. you looked into his eyes, his pupils will taking up most of the space in his iris. it was the first time you had ever seen him look at you like this before. he had finally turned his humanity on. 

“i know it’s still nighttime, but why don’t we go and grab some breakfast? lincoln square pancake house open at five. we can take a walk there to pass the time,” he suggested. 

you smiled, “i would like that…” your voice trailed off as you saw the light in your bedroom flash on. you sighed, giving stefan a disappointed look. “i’m sorry, but i can’t. i’m with somebody.” 

“what?” stefan frowned. 

“yeah, he’s upstairs waiting for me,” you explained. 

you took a few steps backwards, your hands slipping out of his. the warmth you two felt from each other left in an instant. 

stefan turned around and looked at the window, glaring at the silhouette of chase.

“how long have you two been… together?” stefan swallowed hard. 

“two months,” you answered. “you can just leave him then, right?” stefan suggested more than asked. 

“i-i can’t just leave him because you came back,” you scoffed. 

“why not? you two haven’t been together for that long. he won’t care.”

“that is so rude! god, what is wrong with you? i thought you had turned your humanity on?” 

“i have! it’s on, i’m just… i can’t believe you are with someone!” stefan groaned. he took the knife from the ledge, throwing it at one of your flower pots. 

“what the hell?” you shouted as you watched a couple of pots break. 

“i can’t believe i spent all this time searching for you when you’ve been with someone all along!” 

“i can’t believe you expected me to just stay alone for 60 years! you are so selfish!”

“well, maybe if you didn’t move around so much then i could’ve found you better! maybe if you tried to find me, too, then we wouldn’t be arguing right now!”

you looked at him incredulously. you didn’t think humanity-stefan would be this angry and selfish. you almost wished he had his humanity off. 

“you don’t think i did that?” you asked. “you-you don’t think that i tried to search for you? i went to virginia, new york, los angeles, and even fucking texas and london to search for you!” you shouted.

“why did you stop?” he asked. 

“do you not know how painful it was holding on to you? holding on to your memory, the heartache you gave me? the fact that i had to figure out how to keep myself happy and not like, kill myself after every decade of not ageing? i had to stop searching for you to move on. i had to try and fall in love with other people to move on. i did it for myself, stefan, and it is so selfish for you to think that i would wait for you and put myself through years on pain. you left me —”

“i did not leave you! you left me!” stefan cut you off. 

“you left me hopeless and in love. your constant teasing, and that kiss — ugh! i cannot believe you let me kiss you. every night that i went to bed knowing that you were playing me, but you made it so hard to let go, to set boundaries. i hate you for that. i-i hated you for that,” you sobbed. 

he looked at you apologetically, feeling horrible that he yelled at you. he moved closer to you, reaching out but you backed away. 

“go back home, stefan,” you said quietly. 

“no, y/n, wait. i’m sorry, we can talk this out. i can meet your boyfriend —”

“no,” you shook your head.

you pushed past him, going to step inside your house but he stopped you. 

“does he know you’re a vampire?” he asked. 

you sighed and shook your head. 

“then you can just compel him to forget you! simple as that!” “i love him, okay!” you whipped around. 

“how can you love him? you’ve only been together for —” 

“i fell in love with you in less than a week. don’t be surprised if i love somebody i’ve been with for two months,” you got up in his face, glaring at him. you took a deep breath and stepped back, calming yourself down. “maybe i’ll see you in another 60 years.”

stefan started to cry then, too. “no, no, y/n. please, don’t go.”

“goodbye, stefan,” you sighed. you went back into your house, shutting the door. you started to sob as you turned away from the front door. 

chase came downstairs, shocked to see you sobbing. he ran to you, putting his arms around you and engulfing you into a tight hug. 

“what’s wrong, sweetheart? who was at the door?” he asked in a soft voice. 

“n-no one,” you sniffled. you looked up at him, looking into his eyes. “no one was at the door. i am crying because i jammed my finger into the door. a cat was playing in our yard and broke our flower pots.”

he repeated your words, looking down at your finger with worried eyes. “is your finger okay?”

“yeah, you know i heal fast,” you chuckled. 

he looked at your face, reaching his hand up to wipe the tears that were still falling. “it seems like it really hurt, though. do you want any ice or ibuprofen?”

“i’m afraid no human remedies could fix this type of hurt,” you muttered, looking down at your hands. 

“what was that?” chase asked. 

you perked up, giving him a fake smile. “ice would be good.”

“coming right up, babe,” he kissed your forehead. 

“thanks,” you sighed. 

you turned back to the door, peering out of the window. there was no sign of stefan. it seemed like he had left for good this time. 

or so you thought. 

the only place he did leave was your house. otherwise, he was all over the city, following you and appearing in the restaurants you ate, the stores you shopped at, and even outside your sister’s apartment.

you were debating about writing a restraining order, but you knew that he would just rip up the paper and kill whichever police officer registered it. you just had to send him a message without actually talking to him, which was something you never wanted to do again. and not because you didn’t want to see him, you just couldn’t. 

“tommy, do not get into mammy’s things!” marcy scolded the child. 

“i’m sorry,” he pouted. marcy rolled her eyes, picking him up and placing him on her hip. “it’s okay, tommy. just go and play with sissy.” she let him down and he ran into the living room. 

“how can you stand so many kids?” you asked. 

“there’s only two,” marcy snorted. “yeah, and they are everywhere,” you muttered.

“i’m glad i had kids before i was turned. i couldn’t imagine my life without those two buggers,” marcy grinned. 

“more like you wouldn’t be alive long enough to imagine them,” you smirked.  

“oh!” marcy gasped, hitting your arm. “what is up with you this week? you have been so unusually sarcastic and a little more rude than normal.”

“i’m sorry,” you sighed, “my life has just been so.. stressful.”

“talk to me,” marcy said, putting down the knife and putting her hand on your forearm. 

“stefan came by the other night,” you said in a hushed voice. 

marcy’s jaw dropped and her eyes bludged out of their sockets. she grabbed your upper-arm, dragging you into the dining room where no one could hear you. 

“what do you mean ‘stefan came by the other night’?” she asked. 

“he came to my house and broke my flower pots,” you explained. “what the — are you two back together? well, wait, you’re still with chase. he’s in the other room, so you couldn’t have broken up with him,” marcy thought out loud. 

“i haven't broken up with chase… yet,” you bit your lip, looking at marcy nervously. this was the first time you had admitted to wanting stefan out loud. 

“what are you thinking? did mom drop you on your head or something, and it’s finally now affecting you?” marcy scolded. 

“he is everywhere, okay?” you said. “who?” marcy asked. 

“stefan,” you whispered. “he has been following me everywhere and he’s even been appearing in my dreams. i… i don’t know if it’s a sign or what —” 

“no, it’s not a sign. none of this is a sign. you’re only seeing him in your dreams because you are seeing him in your day-to-day life which by the way, we need to get a restraining order or something,” marcy said. 

“no!” you shook your head furiously. 

“why not? do you seriously still love him?” marcy judged. 

“no, but i —”

“oh, you are the worst liar y/n m/n l/n. you are so in love with him!”

“am not! i was the one who told him to go away!” you lied because you hated disappointing your sister, but you knew she could see right through you anyways. 

“oh, yeah? and tell me, did you dream about him that night? did you stay up all night thinking about him? ever since he's appeared in your life does kissing chase not feel the same? you don’t feel the passion, the heat you did with chase as you felt with stefan. every time chase touches you, you imagine it’s stefan. every time you come home you hope it’s to stefan. every time chase calls you ‘sweetheart’, you —” 

“okay, fine! i-i love him. i’m in love with him. is that so bad?” you sighed. 

“yes! he broke you. he ruined your entire life, led you on, and ripped out your heart. i don’t care how he makes you feel. it took you 15 years to get over him. you do not want to fall down that hole again.” “he has humanity on, marcy. h-he’s different now,” you defended him. 

“do you even hear yourself right now?” she laughed. 

“i know i sound crazy, but stefan is a hell of a lot better than chase. even you know that.” “chase can be an asshole, i agree, but you also compel him more than half the time. you can’t compel stefan to not get mad at you and do what you say. stefan is a manipulative stalker that needs to leave you the hell alone. if you aren't going to talk to him, then i will,” marcy gritted her teeth. 

“marcy, please. let me figure this out on my own,” you pleaded. 

“i don’t trust you to make good decisions, and neither should you. that man does something to you. it’s like he compels you to love him.”

“my feelings for him are true and i can’t deny them!” you shouted louder than you had meant to. 

“you either get over him or i’ll make sure you get over him,” marcy whispered. she stormed away and back into the kitchen, continuing to make lunch. 

you stayed in the dining room as you started to cry. you leaned against the wall, sobbing as quietly as you could as to not alarm anyone. you knew marcy meant well, but it hurt so much when she invalidated your feelings and didn’t trust you. all your guys’s life she has always been on the look-out for you. and although that stopped for a while when she had kids, it picked right back up once you two became close again. you appreciated her concern, but you knew what you were doing. you told stefan you were in love with chase, you told him to go away. admitting your feelings for stefan was the first step to getting over him, actually. you did it once, you were sure you could do it again. 

the next few weeks were awkward for you and marcy. you two barley talked and it was weighing on you heavily. without marcy your life felt so empty. instead of walking around town, seeing the same movies in the theatres, and playing with your great-nephew and nieces, you spent your days in your house cleaning, cooking, and playing wife. you loved cleaning and cooking for chase, but you also liked going outside and shopping and hanging out with your sister. that came to an end quietly as soon as you mentioned stefan. and speaking of stefan, him stalking you didn’t get any better, either. 

if he was going to ignore your boundaries then you were going to completely ignore him. although you had deep feelings for him, you were still scared that you would get hurt. you just didn’t know if you could trust him yet. but ignoring him didn’t work very well for one night. he had managed to corner you as you came out of the super market. 

“talk to me, please,” stefan begged. 

you stared ahead, trying to walk as fast as you could without using your vampire speed and freaking out all the humans near you. 

“if you talk to me now i’ll stop bothering you.”

you couldn’t help but chuckle. that was an empty promise. 

“y/n, please. sweetheart —” 

“don’t call me that,” you turned around, death-staring him. 

“why? because chase calls you that? we both know you told him to call you that because he is so not that type of guy to call a girl sweetheart.” 

“go away! i’m trying to go home!” you groaned, turning back around and continuing to walk to your car. 

“to play house wife? c’mon, y/n, we both know you’d rather be day-drinking or running through the woods with the wind in your hair.”

“you know nothing about me,” you chuckled sourly. “i know more about you than you think,” stefan said. 

“how? because you’ve been stalking me, right?” you hummed. 

“y-yes, but —”

“leave me alone! go back to virginia or wherever you live now,” you said. 

stefan grabbed you, causing a thrill to run up your spine. he turned you around so you would face him. you collided into his chest, being as close to him as you were the night you two kissed. 

“i live here now. i have lived in california for a while now, actually,” stefan stated. 

“well, i know for a fact you’ve never lived in san diego because i have been all over this city,” you said. 

“you’re right. i never lived in san diego until now.”

“then go back home! because of you my relationship with my sister is falling apart, i’m confused about my feelings for you and chase, and you stalking me is seriously creepy.”

“so you do have feelings for me?” he smirked.

“i knew i always would,” you nodded. “but that’s not the point, okay? you hurt me to the point where marcy had to help me get out of bed and shower. she had to help me eat and for a while, all i could think about and do was cry about you. so just spare me another heartbreak, please.” 

“i know i hurt you. i’m so sorry,” stefan apologized, looking into your eyes. “you may never believe me, and that’s okay, but after i turned my humanity on i was a wreck. and even before then, i never stopped thinking about you. i never fathomed how much you would mean to me, and how much i would end up needing you. you were the one thing that kept me going. searching for you kept me going. i’m not the same man i was in the ‘20s, please believe that and give me a chance. one date is all i’m asking.”

you knew he was telling the truth. the way his eye contact didn’t once falter, how his voice sounded, the way his grip on you loosened. but you couldn’t give in, not this time.

“i believe you, but the answer’s still no,” you sighed.

“i know you compel chase and i know he fights with you a lot. if you were dating me, there would be no reason to be scared,” stefan stated.

you frowned, “i’m not scared of him.” “yes, you are. i saw how scared you were when be raised his voice at you at the restaurant for “flirting” with the waiter. he’s not good for you, y/n,” stefan sighed.

“you aren’t either,” you muttered.

“i can be if you would just let me,” he stated matter-of-factly.

you exhaled deeply, his scent filling your nose. he smelled like jasmine and leather, a little unique for a man, but you loved it nonetheless. you looked into his eyes, focusing on them. you never realized how pretty they were before. they were a deep-green, like the color of pine trees. his eyebrows were were perfectly shaped and thick. his hair was tousled, but soft-looking. he had amazing bone structure, a strong jawline and prominent cheekbones. and his lips, they looked so soft. and from you remembered, they fit perfectly against yours. you wondered if they still did.

you were leaning into him, the only thing between you now was a millimeter of space. you looked back up to his eyes, seeing the excitement and sincerity in them.

“c’mon, sweetheart. let me prove to you i have changed. one date and i’ll promise to leave you alone. you have my w —”

“yeah, okay,” you cut him off and smashed your lips onto his.

you took him by surprise, but he quickly regained composure and kissed you back. his arms wrapped around your back, pulling you flush against him. your hands went up to his neck, your fingers burying themselves in his hair. your suspicions were right, his hair was soft. the dark strands slipped through your fingers as you ruffled your hands through his locks. you grabbed a tuft of hair, pulling it gently as his tongue slipped into your mouth.

his lips fit yours perfectly, just like last time. the kiss from 60 years ago was full of tension for sure, but this one was passionate and loving. his lips moved against yours tenderly, taking their time to savor the feel and taste of you, but there was also heat in the way his tongue explored your mouth, in the way you two exhaled and inhaled deeply between each kiss.

you had never experienced this type of kiss with anyone else but him, not even chase. you knew for a fact that you were with the wrong man.

stefan was the first one to pull away, opening his eyes and grinning from ear-to-ear. “you didn’t cry this time.”

“yeah, well, i don’t think that you are messing with me this time,” you smirked. 

“i’m not. i promise,” he said. “i know,” you nodded. 

you sighed, giving him a sad smile. “i have to go now. chase is expecting me to make some chilli.”

“shouldn’t keep him waiting. your chilli is amazing,” stefan smiled. 

“i’ll save you a bowl,” you promised. “are you saying you’re going to cook for our date?” stefan asked. 

you laughed, “no. i want you to take me out.”

he nodded, “alright. deal. friday at four?”

“four? that’s kind of early,” you said. “by the time we get to our location it will be dinnertime,” he explained. 

“where are we going?” you asked. “you’ll see,” he winked. 

“friday at four then,” you nodded.

“i love you,” stefan kissed your cheek.

you gave him a smile in return, and he accepted that response. you loaded your car with groceries, driving back to your house. you could not wait for friday.

Believe it or not, if he does do any type of workout with you (which would be somewhat rare), it would be stretches, only because it is somewhat calming and helps with how tense his body can be

But he’s never afraid to give you motivation or give you compliments; he does it proudly and rather bold

Even if it seems like he’s just teasing you, Satan is being 100% honest. You’re already perfect in his eyes, but it just makes it more obvious seeing you doing something for yourself and being happy about it

Asmodeus

I feel like Asmo would be one of the most helpful brothers (besides from Beel of course) because he likes to take care of himself, and that includes eating healthy and working out

Even though doesn’t like to sweat and he hates the idea of feeling gross, he won’t whine (as much) because it’s something that he wants to do. He’s very big on self-love and having confidence, and he’s a firm believer in feeling good about yourself always, no matter what shape or size you are. After all, you gotta feel good to look good!

Plus, he has taken some devilishly selfies of his sweat glistening on him and he knows his fans go wild for those~

Even though he’s known for his insatiable appetite, he’ll still eat healthy with you. He may not know a lot about human food, but he does know what’s good for the body

Of course he still eats full course meals and will just burn it off like nothing, but he can skip out on Madame Screams’ pastries if it means keeping you motivated

You try to tell him that it’s okay for him to eat whatever, but he’s already shaking his head at you, telling you that you guys are in this together, and that’s that

You ended up splitting some sweets with him on your cheat day because you a.) felt bad and b.) wanted to thank you for being the best gym partner ever

If it’s an off day or you feel like you didn’t do your best or enough, he’s already there giving you a smile and pulling you back on your feet, saying how much you’ve improved and how far you’ve come, and Beel isn’t the type to just say anything. He stays in the room while you’re working out and he’s really cheering you on with his little chants (I mean it’s while he’s lazing around but still are you really surprised?), but you can’t help but still find it endearing and a way to stay positive

He’s pretty decent in the kitchen, and he’s got some safe-for-humans healthy snacks that he “borrowed” from Beel and some recipes that he got from Barbatos and Asmo

(Somehow Solomon overheard and volunteered himself to cook and Belphie doesn’t think he ever ran so fast in his life before when he walked away to go grab his “recipe book”)

Makes small remarks about your progress and says it like it’s the most obvious thing in the world, showing that he does notice the changes you’re making even if you don’t. Really helps you stay motivated!

His words may come off as dry and sarcastic sometimes, but he means well. He may have a bit of a hard time showing that he cares, but he does. And he cares a lot about you, more than he can express

BnHA Chapter 299: No Chains Left

Previously on BnHA: Horikoshi was all “and then AFO broke out all of the inmates from six other prisons and took a nap. well anyways, here’s the hospital angst.” Kacchan woke up two days later and was all, “WAIT BUT HOW ARE DEKU AND TODOROKI AND ALL OF THE OTHER CHARACTERS EXCEPT IIDA DOING” and then we cut to Shouto’s room where the other U.A. kids were sitting around being Mutually Traumatized and giving each other moral support and such. Everyone was alll, “...”, and then the rest of the Todofam showed up, INCLUDING POSSIBLY REI?! which, omg. The chapter ended with Kacchan STOMPING THROUGH THE HALLS all “WHADDYA MEAN DEKU HASN’T WOKEN UP YET”, dragging along Satou and Mineta behind him, fueled by the power of ALL OF THE FUCKS HE NOW GIVES. He gives so many fucks now you guys. This boy cares so much he can probably deduct it on his taxes.

Today on BnHA: SPEAKING OF PEOPLE WHO GIVE A LOT OF FUCKS, the story cuts abruptly to Hawks, freshly recovering from his near-death experience, and pondering the threads that have weaved the tapestry of his life and led him to this moment. Basically he grew up in poverty with his Jerk Dad and Jerk Mom until his dad got arrested one day and his mom sent him off to go Find Money Or Something, and so he rescued a busload of people and found himself a new career. Back in the present day, Hawks and Jeanist ride around town in Jeanist’s Jamborghini having awkward encounters with civilians in a country on the brink of social collapse, and visiting Hawks’s mother’s home. Hawks is all “I know from an outsider’s perspective it must look like my life currently sucks, but now that the HPSC is gone, my public image is shot, and my parents are finally out of my life, I’m actually feeling SURPRISINGLY GOOD.” Anyway so he’s gonna go meet up with Endeavor now, and p.s. this chapter was fucking fantastic though, damn.

oh my god?? is this Hawks narration?? something about him growing up watching the heroes on TV and thinking of them as fictional characters

omg omg omg. and this child is basically trapped here in this environment with these two people. this explains a SHITLOAD about Hawks’s personality though you guys. his ability to completely separate his real thoughts from the face he presents to the outside world. his pragmatic approach to analyzing and solving problems. his layers of emotional walls. turns out almost none of that came from the HPSC training -- that was all learned hands-on in his own personal do-or-die survival nightmare childhood!! oh, boy

and small wonder then that he latched on to Endeavor so strongly if he really is the one who brought down his dad and inadvertently saved him from this. also, just putting this out there, I know people are always talking about him and Dabi being foils, and I think it’s very interesting how Touya grew up in a household where he saw firsthand the dark side of hero society, and so ended up becoming a villain in order to bring it down. whereas young Keigo had almost the exact opposite experience, growing up experiencing the dark side of villain society and becoming a hero in order to bring about a world where no one else has to experience that. just. both of them are so determined not to become their fathers. some interesting parallels there

so Hawks was sort of an accident after his parents had “thanks for helping me not get caught after I killed that guy” sex, and now this little boy is growing up in squalor and being beaten by his father for things like Sitting In The Wrong Out-Of-The-Way Corner Trying Not To Be A Bother To Anybody. holy fuck. this is so rough to read through you guys

wait so does Jerk Dad have a an eyeball manipulation quirk?? because he doesn’t have the wings like his son, but wth are these things??

this presumably also means that Keigo has never been to school or anything either. he basically doesn’t exist. he thinks heroes are fictional characters, he doesn’t realize that they’re real people. these are people who could help him if he could escape and find them, but he doesn’t know, and they don’t know about him
