BAU men salsa dancing headcanons

Rossi is surprisingly good at it, although his movements are more on the stiff side. He does mostly the basic steps, like an uncle dancing at a wedding. He will spin you once or twice and even pull one of those leaning endings just as a show off.

Hotch is stiff, like, spaghetti before boiling stiff. The first time he dances, it's an awkward mess, although he grasped the steps pretty quickly. The second time, he is just as stiff but with more technique, he probably took a salsa class on the side. Basic steps only, playfully spins you off beat just so he can hug you, has a blast because he sees you have a blast.

Morgan is good, mad good. He will know how to spin you, cha cha cha, drop it and reverse it. He was probably forced to learn when Garcia was too shy to go to a class by herself, and surprise, surprise, he was excellent at it. If you are not careful, he might be even better than you. Can take it slow and simple if that's the mood, he is just happy to shake his but a bit.

Spencer knows the origins, raise, and fall of salsa dancing. He knows the names of all the steps by heart, and even the speed at which his body should move. Little problem? It just doesn't. He stumbles and steps on feet time and again, he won't look up from looking at his feet as he recites what the movements are supposed to look like. When he finally relaxes, he can sort of do it well, it's awkward and very basic, it's more you taking the lead, spinning him, and moving his arms, but it's nonetheless fun. He also has a last although he ended up breathless.

Luke is effortless, my man is latino, so you know he was peer pressured into learning growing up. He sings while he dances and will always take the lead. He prefers the simple, more casual steps, though if he gets lost in the music, he will begin to show off. He definitely smiles the entire time like a good performer, and will even do the 'two at a time' steps if any of the girls join you om the dance floor.

Matt is similar to Rossi, he got some of the steps down, but won't go as far as doing over complicated spins. He is elegant and less stiff, since he is tall, like, very tall, it looks a bit clumsy, but he always enjoys himself when he is dancing. He will, however, get tired pretty quickly, even when he is used to all types of cardio, the dancing just takes too much brain effort.

disclaimer: this doesn't include every character from every season, but on the characters that I connected with and fit with my headcanons the most -- i.e., these aren't fact, just how i see it <3

also i.e., pls pls don't be mad if we have different headcanons

the basics:

aaron hotchner: father, single dad, can be strict but will always listen to and be there for his kids, doesn't smile very often but has the BEST, most contagious laugh

david rossi: cool, fun uncle, gave the kids their first sip of alcohol (only when they're 21 though), the more 'chill adult', a playboy, but finally married their aunt krystall who is their favorite

derek morgan-hotchner: oldest child & son, very protective of his siblings, a little bit of a playboy but does settle down, smart without trying

emily prentiss-hotchner: nicknames are em and ems, second oldest, oldest daughter, very smart (smarter than her little brother spencer sometimes) and the most emotionally intelligent of the siblings though this surprises most people because she's very rebellious and very private - opens up to people but with time

jennifer jareau-hotchner : nicknames are JJ and jaje, middle child, quiet and responsible, very popular athlete, surprisingly kind of a badass when her family or friends (especially her little brother and sister) are hurt

spencer reid-hotchner: nickname is spence, youngest son, penelope's twin, very smart with an IQ of 187 and very sensitive, sometimes gets bullied but always protected by older brother derek, a bit nerdy like his twin

penelope garcia-hotchner: nickname are pen, penny and garcie, youngest child and daughter, spencer's twin, a little bit loud and boisterous at times but also very sensitive and kind, great at computers and majored in comp-sci in college

tara lewis, matt simmons, luke alvez: triplets, but not related to the hotchners, though they have been family friends with them for years and are treated as family

luke: very popular, football player and jock but not a playboy at all, a little quiet and secretly a nerd, LOVES musicals and baking

tara: very smart, loves psychology and crime-thrillers, very funny and and a bit of a smart-alec, loves teasing her little brother luke

matt: nickname is matty, very mature, very kind and very responsible, also a football player with his brother, often breaks up the arguments between tara and luke when one or the other takes it too far

other details of the headcanon

aaron is currently dating beth who will hopefully be the family's step-mom soon (aaron has been planning to propose for a long time and the kids keep teasing their dad that it'll never happen)

though derek is a playboy all throughout high school, he eventually settles down with a smart girl on the pre-med track in college named savannah

derek often gets into fights with his dad, especially when he was younger, but that's happens less as he gets older and when he finds comfort in savannah

JJ's been dating her high-school sweetheart, Will, since freshman year, they've already started planning how many kids they want and their names (as it stands: 2 boys and a girl, henry, michael and maggie)

matt has also been dating kristy forever, since high-school and they both want a big family

emily, jj and tara are an unlikely trio of best friends; emily has only ever told the other two her biggest fear

derek, matt and luke are also best friends and often include spencer in their hang-outs

penelope and luke were very 'will they, won't they' for a long time because penelope often resisted luke's charm because she was afraid of getting hurt, but eventally start dating and are everyone's favorite couple

penelope dated a bunch of assholes before luke (kevin, shane, tyler) and is part of the reason why she was afraid to date luke -- luke is aware of this and does her best to treat her like a queen

spencer just started dating max but can see himself marrying this girl; max has helped him come out of his shell

spencer is the older twin by 5 minutes and often holds this over penelope's head

matt is the oldest triplet, then tara and then luke (who is the baby and treated as such by his siblings)

spencer and penelope are built-in best friends and watch doctor-who, marvel and star-trek marathons together -- max and luke join these when each couple starts dating

tara, luke and matt often see aaron/dave as parental figures and lean on them for support

they are all very protective of each other, but everyone is the most protective of penelope

tara and penelope call luke 'lukey' as a nickname to bug him, but he secretly loves it

the eight kids (penelope, luke, matt, tara, emily, jj, spencer, derek) don't have that much of an age gap between them so they are all very close, hang-out a lot and very much fit the found-family trope

dave and aaron take the kids (including matt, tara and luke) on a family trip every year -- 2024 is going to be a beach trip

personal BAU headcanons i've developed over the years:

- JJ, Emily, Reid, and Garcia have chronic pain that comes and goes, sometimes it's trigger out. it most notably happens when it rains back in DC

- The Reid Effect still works, but as Reid's gotten older, the effects have become less severe. Cloony and Roxy have been the only dogs immediately immune

- the entire BAU team has a very messed up internal clock from traveling to different time zones so often and without rest, with the fact that they keep such odd hours as well,

- Reid is extremely protective of the team, having seen too many people come and go over all his years with the BAU. the team have a joke that once Reid has accepted you, you're protected, but it rings a lot truer than any of them can see

- Garcia is also very protective of the team, but she has less pull and cannot protect them as well as Reid could, so she points out names and lets Reid go from there

- Hotch has tenitus, it will never go away

- if someone higher than the unit chief goes into the field with the team, the team has a habit of looking to their unit chief for confirmation to their orders. 90% of the time, it's because the person higher than the unit chief is auditing/trying to prove a point

- new agents get their cues from Rossi, JJ, and Reid, as the longest standing members of the BAU Main Response Team. Rossi knows this, JJ and Reid do not

- the team can sometimes be found in one of the unused offices on a pillow-and-blanket fort sleeping

- the team can, will, and has closed ranks against anyone who goes against the team in a way that isn't Right

- Prentiss loves her team and she'll do anything to protect it, but the team doesn't know about the less than legal not-so-moral things she did in the wake of Ian Doyle and the Black Swan was never caught or identified

- Luke and Morgan have met up, Morgan has "passed the buck" so to speak and asked Luke to look after Reid as his brother. Luke asked him if he thought that would knock him out, but Morgan just smiled and said nothing could replace him as Reid's brother, another brother would just be added to the tally

- Garcia, Prentiss, JJ, and Tara sometimes have girls-night, they may or may not invite Rossi and Reid to these nights, entirely dependant on if the two want to hang with them for the night

- the team has unofficial venting sessions for bad cases and rough days. the team can and will drop everything to be there for each other (with families if necessary)

- the team has knife, close quarts combat, and long-range weapons training, both offense and defense, courtesy of Prentiss

Matt Simmons (my beloved!) is such an underrated character. I thought he was marvellous and an incredible addition to late season CM. Since you're my first trick or treater, I'll give you a head canon and a pic!

I HC Matt as being bisexual and also kind of a freak in the sheets, if you know what I mean ;) I mean, think about it! Kristy has had FIVE kids and her husband is out of town on cases about 90% of the time. Anyone who has tried to have kids knows that the actual window where someone can get pregnant is barely two days a MONTH.

Matt and Kristy managed to have five kids -- I mean, they gotta have a great sex life for that to happen with his time restraints. Nothing but respect for this man.

ATTENTION!

My apologies for not posting. But...I officially graduated college! I am very relieved and thrilled. And I am going to graduate school!

But onto the important business.

Chapters 12-15 have now had their order edited. Chapter 12 is a completely different chapter than the previously posted one, mainly because I thought that this new chapter 12 was better placed there. All previous versions of 12-14/15 are the same, they have just been moved up one to accomodate for the new chapter.

My apologies for the disorganization! Writing chapters/novels is hardwork and never perfect. Everything for the story is mapped out, but it is still a learning curve trying to piece all the parts together.

I hope you enjoy the updated chapter! It is pretty emotional and interesting if you ask me...

Hello! Thanks for the request! I went for Spencer since I'm not really as familiar with Matt.

Warnings: Yandere themes, talk of kidnapping and manipulation

To start us out, Spencer would be manipulative, protective, and obsessive.

Reid's a genius. He loves learning new information and can store it all in that smart brain of his. When it comes to you, his want to learn is doubled. His obsession makes it so that he wants to know everything about you.

He's not tech-savvy like Garcia is, so most of his "research" is mainly just talking to you. Though, I don't doubt that Spencer would ask Garcia at some point to look into you a bit. Things he's not ready to ask himself, like if you have a significant other.

Otherwise, he can come off as pretty awkward. Spencer adores you, so he can get nervous just being around you. But with some encouragement from Morgan, he gets to be more comfortable around you and not so high-strung.

Despite his initial nervousness, Spencer wouldn't be afraid to use what he knows to his advantage.

He's in the BAU for a reason. It's his job to analyze even the most complicated minds. He's able to read you like an open book.

Mainly, he uses what he knows to get closer to you. He wants to have something you two can share an interest in, whether that's a hobby, a show, or something else. He'll learn what he needs to in order to talk to you about it.

Generally, I don't think Spencer's one to up and kidnap you, and that mainly has to do with his job.

If you're on the BAU, it would be a bit difficult to explain your absence in a way that doesn't make others suspicious. Even if we're talking about a universe where the others are like Spencer, there are still people close to you and higher-ups that would get suspicious.

If you're not with the BAU, Spencer's mainly worried about how often he leaves for cases. He can be gone for days or even weeks at a time, and he knows how damaging isolation can be for the human mind.

While he knows that can be a good punishment if you misbehave, he still prefers not to do it, so you're not likely to get kidnapped unless something extreme happens.

However, Spencer will also use what he knows about you as a way to keep you safe.

He's very good at manipulating you when he needs to. Most times, Spencer does feel guilty at the thought of doing so. He adores you. He wants to have a normal relationship, it's just that he can't stand the thought of losing you.

So if it means he has to steer you in the right direction sometimes, he'll do it. Whether that means convincing you that guy you're getting close to isn't as nice as you think he is, or having you sit out on a particularly dangerous case, Spencer just wants you to be safe.

Peter Parker and Harry Osborn are in love with each other (whether they admit it outloud or not. Growing up closeted and queer between 2002-2014 made all those nuanced interactions between P.P. and H.O. SO IMPORTANT FOR ME!!!

Gwen Stacy is trans AND bisexual

Eddie/Venom, Wade Wilson, and Matt Murdock are all ex's of Peter's who still remain strong Spiderman allies

Every member of the ATSV movie has a MASSIVE crush on beef hunk Miguel, but I think Miles, Hobie, and Peter B Parker have it the worst 😆

Pavitr has single handedly the coolest way to 'web travel'

That one news anchor that has somehow NEVER aged and shows up in all three live action universes is a shapeshifting God and we must harness his energy.

[putting this down as a separate post for more visibility.]

more personal headcanons developed over the course of the show:

- all members of the current BAU Main Response team have some form of sleeping disorder, from Reid (insomnia) to JJ (night terrors)

- Luke and Matt have a brothery relationship just the same as Luke and Reid do, they just aren't as obvious about it

- Reid plays piano at clubs sometimes, nothing big or fancy. he picked it up after the Coda episode and he kept doing it for many years after

- JJ, Reid, and Garcia have a pact. they tell each other when somethings wrong and they have no secrets, just things they don't feel comfortable talking about. Morgan and Prentiss used to be part of this, but they both left the pact. there are no hard feelings from either party

- Luke brings Roxy to the BAU sometimes, he calls these days "Mental Health Boosters"

- if any of the team are ever in trouble, they have a code word they use if they're able to contact each other but unable to speak directly

- Garcia and Kevin are such good friends that they have keys to each other's houses

- Matt loves cats, but he'll never tell his kids, their son is allergic

- Reid always smells vaguely of paperback books due to owning so many

- Rossi is team dad, Hotch is team mom, this never truly stops

- the team will always look at Reid as the baby

- Luke, Reid, and Tara fall into the type of "geeks with combat skills"

- Prentiss would also fall into this category, but she *refuses* to be considered a geek

- Reid and Luke went out for three dates before they decided they worked better as friends

- Reid, Luke, JJ, and Tara are bisexual, Prentiss is a lesbian, Matt is heteroflexible, and Garcia is heterosexual. both are avid supporters of their extremely gay teammates

Simmons Christmas Headcanon #10

Part 10 of a series of mostly Fanon Christmas Headcanons,

Penelope Garcia got to help the Simmons kids make gingerbread cookies for a holiday bake sale with the help of her british baking club. They ended up making a large batch of gingerbread and sugar cookies enough for all of the Simmons' schools. Luke of course stopped by and snacked on some holiday cookies and eggnog. In return, he would of course pay the kids how much he ate since the cookies are supposed to be for a bake sale
