I feel like pre-Kira Light would actually be a super sweet and caring boyfriend

If his s/o is shy they can be assured he’s going to leave absolutely no chance to tease them about it

He finds it absolutely adorable how shy they are, and would probably tease them about it even before they got together

If someone, however, made fun of his s/o’s shyness (other than him ofc) man would be ready to throw hands

But of course, he doesn’t, instead choosing to let his mouth curl into a painfully scary smile as he asks them to repeat their jab at his s/o’s shyness, which seems enough for them to stutter out an apology and run away

Though pre-Kira Light would always respect his s/o’s boundaries and never force them into anything, their shyness would awaken a slightly sadistic side to Kira-Light

He enjoyed immensely watching his s/o squirm and struggle to find words even in simple everyday occasions

Often in the bedroom, he’d play dumb and get his s/o to tell him exactly what it was they wanted, their stuttering and blushing being a huge turn on for him

L has had his fair share of quietness and keeping to himself, so he understands if his s/o might be a little shy around people

He finds it quite cute, actually

Most people thought his s/o was arrogant and stuck up when they refused to speak in public, but L knew better than that.

He knew they just struggled a little and were shy when it came to social interactions

L is known to be extremely curious and experimental in nature, which is why it’s a guilty pleasure of his to rile his s/o up in public

When the investigation of the Kira case was underway, every single time his s/o had a report to announce verbally, L would discreetly place his hands on their waist/ thigh and watch in amusement as they stuttered and stumbled over words

He quite enjoyed watching their face grow red from the contact

Although he can be a little shit at times, L would definitely never force his s/o into anything he knew they were uncomfortable with

That doesn’t mean he won’t tease them about it, though (just a little ;))

Hii!! um I just saw your page and I want to do a Matsuda x Reader fluff request, where reader is an artist & they been drawing Matsuda on their sketchbook for awhile. And one day Matsuda catches them drawing him on their sketchbook, which leads the reader to confess to him.

Um so yeah I just thought it was a cute idea for a request heh~

Matsuda x Reader - Sketches of Love

Synopsis: You've had a crush on Matsuda for quite some time now. After he accidentally catches you drawing him in your sketchbook, things change between you.

Word count: 1.1k

CW: fluff, reader is slightly insecure, gender neutral reader

If you just smoothed the edges here, maybe added some shading there… Ugh! It was no use; the sketch wasn’t good no matter how many times you went over it. You had really tried your best, too. And spent way too long trying to perfect it, even though it was just a sketch. You thumbed over the sketches you had already done - they were all of your longtime friend and crush Matsuda. He took up most of your sketchbook. You couldn’t help that his face was the perfect thing to help you practice sketching people. You looked back at your first sketch of him. It was undoubtedly a rough draft - you hadn’t even finished the right side of his face! But after comparing it to today’s… Maybe you had gotten better.

Before you could start a new sketch, the door to task force headquarters swung open. You hurriedly slammed your sketchbook closed. It was just Light returning from his ‘date’ with Misa. Honestly, you felt sorry for her. She deserved better than him. Light ignored you and went to check the updated information on the Kira case. Thankfully, what you did for the Kira investigation didn’t need to be monitored too closely: all you did was thoroughly sift through evidence after it had been looked after by each of the task force members. And if you found anything of note that the others hadn’t, you were to report it. Since your duties didn’t take that long, you had plenty of time to expand your artistic abilities. You hesitantly opened your sketchbook and kept an eye on Light, but he showed no interest in what you were doing. You decided it was safe to start a new sketch, with Matsuda as your subject, of course.

You were so engrossed with your sketch that you hadn’t even noticed someone else enter headquarters. They took a seat next to you on the couch and you felt the space next to you sink down. You turned your head sharply to see Matsuda peering at your sketchbook, mouth slightly agape. You didn’t have time to close your sketchbook before he caught what you were drawing, but even if you had, you realized he had seen you sketching him. It was obvious - no one else in the task force looked quite like Matsuda did, so you couldn’t pass it off as someone else. As you were contemplating what to do, Matsuda let out a small chuckle.

“What?” You asked, confused.

“I never knew you were an artist, Y/N! I’m flattered that you’re drawing me.” Matsuda chuckled again as he ran his hand through his hair. You turned away from him, mostly to stop him from seeing that you were blushing. He was flattered?

“Oh, I’m sorry. Geez, I really do mess everything up… You didn’t mean for me to see that, right?” Matsuda seemed apologetic. He was too sweet for his own good; it was part of the reason you liked him so much. That, and the fact that he was super cute.

“Uh, yeah.” You said, staring down at the sketch you had drawn of him. Your heart was pounding and you couldn’t tell whether you were excited, scared, or a combination of both. It felt like Matsuda had just looked at something private.

“I can just forget I saw it, I swear!” Matsuda held his hands together in front of his face. You shook your head.

“There’s no use in pretending.”

“O-Oh, alright! Well, since you’re an artist, I assume you’ve drawn lots of other things! If it’s okay with you, can I take a peek?” Matsuda’s eyes were locked on yours. It seemed there was no getting out of this. If he saw the rest of your sketchbook, your crush on him would be glaringly apparent. Truthfully, telling Matsuda that you liked him to his face seemed hard to do. But maybe, just maybe, he’d understand your feelings without you having to speak a word.

You took a deep breath, and flipped back to the beginning of your sketchbook, back to that half-sketch of Matsuda’s face. You angled the sketchbook in a way that Matsuda could see your sketch clearly. He took it in, his eyes going over every line. He didn’t speak for a while, so you flipped to the next sketch: a more finished sketch of his face, but still a rough draft. You continued flipping until you got to today’s sketch. You looked at Matsuda, heart now in your throat. A million thoughts were swirling through your mind. Did he not like it? Was he creeped out? Did he… like it? Was he impressed? Would this change things between you? And if it did, would it be for what you’d been hoping for?

“You’re really talented, Y/N!” Matsuda beamed, a smile growing across his face. You breathed a sigh of relief. At least he didn’t seem creeped out.

“Thank you.”

“But, uh, why are all of the sketches of me? N–Not that I mind or anything!” Matsuda’s question was innocent, curious. You looked back down at the sketchbook, gripping it tighter. You prayed he’d get the hint.

“Oh…” Matsuda trailed off before he gently placed his hand on your arm. You looked at him, fear starting to set in, but he was smiling.

“Are you trying to tell me that… you like me?” He asked. You nodded, and you were sure he could see your blush by now. Thankfully, Matsuda got the hint. You honestly weren’t sure if he would.

“You know, Y/N, I’ve felt the same way for a while now.”

“What?! Really? Why didn’t you say anything?!” You hit his arm lightly with the sketchbook.

“Ow…” Matsuda pretended to wince in pain. “I didn’t want it to affect our work. And I didn’t want to lose you as a friend, either.”

“Gosh… you’re unbelievable.” You giggled. You couldn’t believe that all this time he had liked you back! You looked at Matsuda and smiled before resting your head on his shoulder. He awkwardly wrapped his arm around you before kissing the top of your head. You were sure you were bright red by now.

“So, I guess this means we need to go on a date as an official couple!” Matsuda declared.

“Couple?! At least ask me to be your partner first…”

“I will, I will! After our date~” Matsuda grinned.

“And when is this date?”

“How about tomorrow at 7:00pm?”

“Works for me.”

“Then I’ll pick you up promptly at seven!”

“You goofball, we can just go together from headquarters.” You rolled your eyes.

“Oh, right! Then let’s do just that!” Matsuda kissed the top of your head again and you melted into him. Out of all the things that could’ve happened, you didn’t expect this to happen. You were so happy that Matsuda had seen your sketchbook, even though it had been an accident.

like a box of chocolates!

I think L's actually very prone to getting freaked out by jumpscares and unexpected loud noises. For this reason he hates horror movies and thunder. If he happens to experience a fright like this, he'll either go very very still and start trembling, OR he will jump ten feet in the air, drop whatever he's holding, and curse loudly.

I don't think L swears much outside of that, actually.

if you wear glasses he'll just put his hands on your face at any given moment to push them up your nose because the lenses aren't even in front of your eyes any more and what is wrong with you.

he would not kiss you if you have recently eaten something that does not contain heart-attack levels of caffeine and sugar.

yeah he's actually pretty germophobic.. at the same time man will straight up forget to have a shower/shave/brush his teeth.

well actually for that last one he just eats peppermint candy and calls it a day.

When L's handcuffed to Light, they sleep in the same bed. Well, usually L's still working, but he actually does a lot of things in Light's side of the bed. Like eat his food. especially crunchy crumbly food. petty ass.

if you can manage to sit on his lap while he's in his 40% frog pose you can stay there.

you will be used as a stress ball.

feed him sweets. he'll melt once he's distracted from work enough to realise your fingers are pressing the candies into his mouth

what lovely hands you have perhaps you should put them in his mouth

L loves the rain but I think he would prefer experiencing it in a small garden rather than a rooftop. or just in a driveway. the rooftops are just too high. he can see everything and it makes him feel small at a time he wants to feel at one with the whole world.

I'm seriously debating over whether he can square dance you drunk or if he has three left feet because it's one extreme or the other

his wardrobe looks like Homer Simpson's.

sigh. I kind of feel like L is often too busy to shave and usually has some degree of stubble. if you don't like it help him shave please he'll die kiss you

L probably has a lot of burner phones but no matter how you contact him, even in person, you're only allowed to call him L or Lawliet when you are completely completely definitely alone and you'll usually have to whisper. whisper in his ear and lick his neck he will literally shiver

anyway the point I was ACTUALLY going to make is call him lollipop (sweets. and sounds like Lawli-pop)

likes to just stare at you. no emotion in those pretty bottomless grey eyes of his but his internal monologue has suddenly switched to describe everything he likes about you.

big sucker for kisses. no time. :(

Okay but Light, when he isn't Kira, would actually be the sweetest boyfriend alive. Now yes I know he's portrayed as bored and apathetic but if he fell in love he would fall HARD!! to the centre of the earth!!! in his confession he might even propose getting married and raising 10 kids!!

honestly this kid shuts himself off from other people as much as L does, the only difference is that he's easier to get to. be his friend. ask about him.

sigh he'd buy you flowers.

he's got such a goofy laugh he sounds like a baby hyena or something.

Light is the kind of guy who would have the weirdest dreams. like "my entire class from high school went to a water park and I uncovered a cult that was plotting to kill me and sacrifice me to the teacher and-" if you let him explain in detail it's going on for hours.

every time L eats his food on Light's side of the bed, Light cuts his nails on L's side of the bed. petty ass #2

he would not like an "orange tang dark cocoa drink."

I feel like the best way to meet Light would be through the school's debate team. I started thinking about this when watching the musical (it wasn't a debate team but it WAS a debate)

who is this. he must know immediately. and also you were wrong back there- you hang out in the library? why hello there

his favourite food as a child was dinosaur nuggies. he thought they were made from dinosaur meat.

he still loves dino nuggies

okay as for when Light IS Kira. some of this is for if you have a relationship beforehand, some if you meet after.

you're actually one of the few people, along with Sayu and to some degree his parents, who he REALLY doesn't want to tell in case you hate him. but at the same time would you like to be the first angel of the new world?????

so he tries to figure out what you think of Kira. God or the Devil?

please love him. please don't hate him.

and let's be honest even if you don't think much of yourself you'd be much better help than Misa, who cut her life in half anyway.

I think Light's the kind of guy who, if he did perchance meet you as a detective on the Task Force would condition you to like him with a neat little psychological trick we like to call POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT.

you get something you like every time you see him and soon enough you get excited to see him!

at the same time he's constantly making you question whether Kira SHOULD be caught, all Inception style.

you'll love him. or you'll die. jk! (he's not)

Misa: chocolate mint icecream parfait

when she was little she wore rainbow clothes. real 180 when it turned to black black black.

loooves the beach.

sand! sun! swimming! bikini modelling! seashells! surfboards! sexy men with no shirts on! LIGHT WITH NO SHIRT ON!!!!

Misa has a really large collection of earrings of all types. kittens, the solar system, swords.

If you're friends with her she'll eventually pull you along to a modelling gig. No matter how much you protest, it will eventually happen. You'll just be there. Just pray Misa didn't forget to check the schedule and today is lingerie day.

she has 4000 photos on her phone, 3500 of which are selfies and 1750 of which have you in them.

her favourite Pokémon is Stufful!

Misa loves making origami and had a couple hundred paper cranes hanging from the roof of her bedroom when she lived with her parents.

This girl's FAVOURITE thing to do is hold hands. She would never let go if possible. Paint her fingernails and do her makeup, she'd be utterly devoted to you forever and ever. She'll do the same for you if you want.

Has a great singing voice!

Loves flowers. she reminds me of sunflowers in particular. give her bouquets. she'll put them everywhere and watch them slowly die with a smile.

Out of all food "types" I think Misa would like pastries and bakery food the most.

Her favourite letter used to be "L" but then she met L and it immediately became "H". "L" is now number 26 on the list.

Misa has the biggest collection of unused stickers and stamps to ever exist. She thinks they're really pretty.

if you're dating her or even someone else, DOUBLE DATES. anywhere and everywhere. parks. movies. restaurants. she will show up in your bedroom at night.

dressed up as the grim reaper for the past 5 Halloweens straight. only ate candy in pink wrapping.

she's a little like a cat in that she's prone to just knock coffee over paperwork or press her hands all over your keyboard. but, like a cat, she's too adorable to be angry at.

pick her up. spin her around. kiss her.

Matsuda: chocolate mousse + full milk cream

got really excited when Misa started talking about Pokémon but realised she just liked them because they're cute.. sob! he just wants someone to play Pokémon Go! with him!!!!

a very good chef. more actual meals than pastries etc though.

ughhhh his chicken parmigiana tastes like HEAVEN. the salad on the side is LIQUID GOLD.

just a silly little man who takes four tries to tie his tie properly every morning.

he can walk on his hands *bites lip sexily and accidentally breaks the skin, gets an infection and goes to hospital*

sigh he's so pathetic I love him

but goddamn. you guys remember that episode Matsuda overheard the Yotsuba meeting?? When he got his colour like L and Light AND HIS EXPRESSION???

sometimes he has unintentional moments like that, so serious and cool.

If you were dating him during the Kira case he'd ask L to help him erase every single record of your name to protect you. if L didn't agree the first time he'd make sweets with you to give to him. Matsuda is as cunning as anyone when he needs to be, though he hates doing it and can usually get along with puppy eyes.

"you really don't have to do that" when you tell him you love him or kiss him or just smile at him. he's too nice for his own good.

please coach him out of people pleasing.

I think he'd be really into camping actually!! can you imagine him in a silly little hat sitting around a campfire and toasting s'mores and damper?

His ENTIRE face lights up when he sees you. He thinks he's slick about hiding his crush from you but he really isn't.

he would just die if you had time to cuddle and watch a movie together one night. little kissies and calling him cute and really in general not watching the movie, just cuddling

He'd be the best friend EVER. super supportive and funny and generally just great. he'd make you soup if you got sick. he would hold your hair out of your face when you threw up. and then he would probably have to throw up too.

uhh Matsuda only drives Mazdas. he thinks it's funny (the name of the car came from the surname Matsuda). I think he'd like blue cars.

he likes to decorate the Task Force for the holidays to bring cheer and raise morale. he's the one reason nobody's gone insane yet (except Light but that couldn't be helped)

Whenever Matsuda asks how he can be useful to the case, L just asks him if he can make some coffee. He never asks anyone else, only Matsuda, and if someone else offers, he’s like, “no, I want Matsuda to do it.”

Matsuda thinks he’s been assigned the role of coffee boy because L believes he’s too useless to do anything else.

Until he overhears Light quizzing L about it, and L replies, “because Matsuda makes the best coffee.”

When they realized they love you (Death Note x Reader)

A/n- this was super fun! i liked writing the fluff, it was nice to have something soft and sweet to think about <3

Characters included- Mello/Mihael Keehl, L Lawliet, Touta Matsuda

Warnings- injuries and hospitals in mello's, idk his is kind of angsty but the other two are super super fluffy and cute (tell me if i missed any and i'll add them!)

Mello/ Mihael Keehl 🍫

He's not vulnerable.

But when he showed up at your apartment, bleeding and bruised, in tears because the rain on his burns stung, he seemed so young. It was similar to an afraid small child. He couldn't even move past the door before collapsing as he sobbed, shaking. You rushed him to the hospital and he ended up passing out, but when he woke up, you were still there. You kissed his knuckles, holding his body close as the tears began again, even though he felt humiliated by the crying mess he was reduced to. But all you did was hold him, kiss the bruises, run your fingers over his bandages.

He knew you were the right one.

L Lawliet 🍭

He'd always sworn to himself that he was only intrigued by you. He didn't even know that he loved you the way he did. It only hit him when you threw yourself over the back of his chair, draping your arms over his shoulders, before insisting that he needed to take a small break. That he needed to sleep.

"No, no Y/n. I'm fine, I just need to work on my case."

But you insisted, pulling on his sleeve and whining about his habits. You weren't giving up on this, were you?

Finally, after a moment of thinking, he decided that maybe he could take only a little while away to be with you and unwind. Surely it would be worth it.

Touta Matsuda 💕

The way you woke him up after he fell asleep across his desk was so gentle, so caring, and he could hardly believe that you weren't an angel. Your hand still carefully rested on his back after having shaken him just slightly until he awoke. Your expression was concerned. He allowed you to pull him from the desk and pull him away so you could drive him home- he took the metro, after all, and since his shift had ended an hour ago, he'd missed his bus. Soft music played and you hummed to the melody, leaving him feeling like he was floating on a mix of your voice and his own exhaustion.

It was everything he needed.

Light Yagami, he was tall, smart, funny, and a total gentleman. At least that’s how he presented himself. He was most any girl’s ideal guy. I mean from his gentle laugh and kind eyes to his sweet gestures like bringing your favorite snack. How could you not fall for him? You’ve known the Yagami’s for years, and you never would have thought you’d actually fall for him. Your mom’s used to joke that you two would end up together, but you never took them seriously. Well, that was your mistake because before you realized it you were falling. You fell fast and hard. You started to notice things you never did before. You ended up pushing him away completely thinking it would help. It didn’t and then you found out about Misa. Lights girlfriend… His sister told you about her one day while you were over helping her with a project. You felt yourself break inside. Of course, Light didn’t feel the same. He deserves someone like Misa, beautiful and perfect in every way you weren’t.

“Hey Y/N. Long time no see” Light was just getting home. You couldn’t even find it in you to reply. You wanted to break down and cry just hearing his voice. Light having known you forever could tell something was wrong. “Hey Sayu, can I borrow Y/N for a while?” “Sure. I have plans with some friends anyways. Thanks for your help see you later Y/N!” And with that Sayu was out the door. “Y/N come. Let’s go to my room.” You reluctantly followed Light up to his room. Once inside you both sat in silence. You were looking anywhere but him and trying to stay calm. “Y/N look at me. Please.” You begrudgingly obliged to look at Light for the first time since he got home. “What’s wrong?” You stayed silent not sure you could speak without crying. Light came over and sat next to you on his bed. He took your hand in his and asked again, “What’s wrong”. That was the last straw you couldn’t stop the tears. “Sayu… she… she told me about Misa…I know I shouldn’t be upset I have no right to be jealous… but I am…because Light…I love you…” Light didn’t say anything at first but instead pulled you into a hug. “Y/N… I’ve waited so long to hear you say that.” Pulling back from the hug and wiping your tears you reply confused, “What do you mean? But Misa?” “Sayu was wrong, Misa is just some girl who is obsessed with me. The feelings are NOT reciprocated.” “Really?” “Yes, you’re the only one for me.” Before you could say more Light pulled you in for a kiss. It was better than you ever imagined. As you pulled away Light was quick to ask another question. “Is that why you stopped coming over and started avoiding me?” “…Yes… Sorry…” “Y/N, never do that again okay? I love you and ONLY you.” “I love you too.” You two decided to keep it just between you for a while (Lights idea of course, so he could use Misa though you didn’t know this). You were just happy to finally be together. If only you knew the whole truth and what was to come later.

**Authors Note: While writing a lot of lights lines I could hear ryuk laughing and commenting in my head like "you're the only one for me huh? pretty smooth" *laughs*

Also if the Death Note cast were gym leaders, what types do you think they would specialize in? TYPE SPECIALISATION

hate to say it because I want to give him one of my favourite types (dark, dragon, water, ice) but he's a fairy type. he's a fairy type all the way. he loves how pink and fluffy and sweet-like they are.

MAIN: Fairy

SUPPLEMENTAL: Psychic, Grass, Ghost

TEAM

Gardevoir: Psychic / Fairy

Gardevoir form strong bonds with their Trainer and will do anything to protect them. L needs someone to look after him. In addition, Psychic types are generally known for their intelligence, and Gardevoir is a strong Pokémon. A good choice all around!

Mimikyu: Ghost / Fairy

It's kind of like an adorable toy! L is oddly fond of such things because they remind him of childhood, which he never really had. Also it likes the dark and wears a mask to hide from the world, so that's basically like L pftahhahjhahassja

Milcery: Fairy

This is a floating blob of cream! Can you imagine a more delicious wonderful Pokémon?! Milcery also brings good luck to bakeries, which L likes because he wants the places he likes to prosper. In addition, it evolves into Alcremie, which gives its Trainer sweets! L can't wait.

Shiinotic: Grass / Fairy

This Pokémon send people to sleep, which L is very grateful for as it helps override his insomnia. It also makes defeating other Pokémon easy, and L's lazy in ways like these. He likes to get fights over with quickly. I don't think he joins tournaments or anything.

Swirlix: Fairy

L wanted to catch this Pokémon because it smells and looks like cotton candy. Unfortunately, all it does is make him hungry, and Swirlix itself also likes eating lots of sweets... However, L forms strong bonds with all his Pokémon so he'd just buy more sweets lmao.

Clefairy: Fairy

Clefairy is the epitome of a Fairy type! Pink, cute and caring. It's also popular but hard to find, which makes L pretty proud of himself. But the real reason he caught it was because he was sick and thought it was an escaped Chansey...

LIGHT 🖋️

TYPE SPECIALISATION

I thought Light's was easy, then I started thinking and I was tossing up between adding Dragon, Dark or Psychic. HAHSJHAHA your Poison note was my favourite, it suits. Some of these Pokémon are more Light-y, some are more Kira-y.

MAIN: Fire

SUPPLEMENTAL: Poison, Steel, Fighting

TEAM

Salazzle: Poison / Fire

This uses poisonous gas to manipulate people into being its slaves... Replace poisonous gas with poisonous words and that sounds familiar. Plus, Light probably liked the look in its eyes HDHAHDHDH

Arcanine: Fire

A strong, loyal and all around awesome fire Pokémon. Arcanine is also often used by Officer Jenny as a police dog, and I think Light would subconsciously align himself with the law by doing this, because he sees himself as law and justice.

Combusken: Fire / Fighting

Light got this guy as a Torchic, for his starter Pokémon, and is actually fond of it. It's his family. I think he'd really like chickens for some reason, maybe cause of the chicken and egg thing... Anyway, he likes how it uses its legs to fight (maybe he's associating it with someone...).

Iron Moth: Fire / Poison

Even though it's more space and UFO-ish, there's something about it matching records in an old book and observing humanity that reminds me of a Shinigami. So I thought this Pokémon would be oddly fitting for Light, thought I can't imagine how he caught it considering “no records exist of this species being caught”...

Heatran: Fire / Steel

IT LIVES IN A VOLCANO!! Light was definitely super into volcanoes as a kid (couldn't be me lol) so he'd probably make it his personal mission to catch and befriend one of these guys. They're magma and can climb on ceilings and walls.. pretty cool hehe

Sneasler: Fighting / Poison

It's kind of like an evil-looking Meowth, huh? It's poisonous and strong and likes to live alone. Light can respect that (but at the same time went to capture one... not very Loner of him). He would also like mountains.

I got lazy and only did flats, but there's a small art thing for the other characters at the end

MISA 💝

TYPE SPECIALISATION

Fairy would have worked, but I think Misa would go with the basic cute Pokémon, plus a couple of dark ones. like in canon: she's not goth (I believe that's the style) but sometimes dresses like it.

MAIN: Normal

SUPPLEMENTAL: Electric, Flying, Dark

TEAM

Furret: Normal

I think one of Misa's main criteria when catching a Pokémon is cuteness. They have Pokémon fashion shows, iirc, which would be Misa's thing. Anyway, this is a cute, nimble Pokémon and it can move through small spaces, which is surprisingly useful for Misa.

Oricorio (Pom-Pom): Electric / Flying

I have an Oricorio card and it's surprisingly strong!! It looks cute and has like 60HP but can deal 100 damage which seems Misa-ish. She also loves that this type's feathers match her hair. And the bird thing matches with Light's chicken thing.

Eevee: Normal

do I need to explain this...

brain says yes I do. she's a little bit basic when it comes to liking cute Pokémon, so Eevee was a must! She hopes it evolves into a Sylveon, but it's probably gonna become a Jolteon lmao

Ditto: Normal

It's cute and versatile! Though it has a really bad sense of humour and laughs at lots of things.. I think Misa would default to having it as a Stufful. I was going to give her a Stufful actually but it was the wrong type djjdjf.

Morpeko: Electric / Dark

Misa thinks this thing is adorable and appreciates that it has a darker side. She also finds it super cute when it's eating, which is lucky, considering its reaction to hunger. That said, she kind of loves how troublesome it is when it's hungry...

Bombirdier: Flying / Dark

Misa thinks this is a very elegant Pokémon, and caught it expecting refinement. However, it just drops things everywhere... Things that make loud noises... Misa jumps every time.

MATSUDA 🦆

TYPE SPECIALISATION

His was a little funny to figure out. Oddly enough, I really don't think he'd be normal, so I went full nature version. Water and earth and all. Honestly he probably catches Pokémon regardless of type, just tends to hang out in these types' habitats more.

MAIN: Water

SUPPLEMENTAL: Grass, Rock, Bug

TEAM:

Wartortle: Water

Because of course he picked Squirtle for his starter Pokémon (affectionately). Matsu loves this fella and appreciates its much-needed wisdom. Apparently Wartortle's very old. I don't know how Pokémon time works, but I feel like Matsu would love old things, animals, people...

Swadloon: Bug / Grass

This is in my opinion one of the funniest and cutest looking Pokémon ever and something about it was so Matsuda-ish. He would also love that it helps the ecosystem, and though he felt bad about taming it he really wanted to be friends!!

Magikarp: Water

Matsuda caught one of these guys because L always said they reminded him of Matsuda. He's a little sad that L sees him as “the most pathetic useless Pokémon ever” but at least it's pretty darn cute and has lots of potential (evolution wise), right?

Omanyte: Rock / Water

It's been restored from an ancient species, and Matsuda probably has an interest in archaeology or something so he finds that cool. Plus, they're being released into the wild too much and becoming a problem. He thinks they're kinda like cute squids.

Shuckle: Bug / Rock

SHUCKLE!!! There's something inexplicable about this Pokémon. All it really does is protect itself and hide under a rock, but there's a je ne sais quoi about it. Matsuda is a big fan. It also likes berries and looks a little like a dinosaur.

Lombre: Water / Grass

A nocturnal Pokémon that sleeps on river grass. To be honest, Matsuda probably caught it by accident (if anyone can do that, Matsuda can) one day and just shrugged, said "new friend!" and moved right on.

RIE 🥀

mwahaha or something.

TYPE SPECIALISATION

I kept changing her types because the first batch the Pokémon didn't fit and the second batch were too similar to L and Misa. I kept Psychic and Dragon the whole way through, which is why the first four only have one type.

MAIN: Psychic

SUPPLEMENTAL: Dragon, Ice, Bug

TEAM

Dragonair: Dragon

An angelic and peaceful Pokémon that can change the weather! Plus, Dragonair seems very majestic and beautiful. Rie caught it as a Dratini and this is the Pokémon that has been with her the longest, apart from her starter Pokémon of course.

Espeon: Psychic

Rie loves Espeon a lot and was surprised when her Eevee didn't evolve to Sylveon! She probably prefers Espeon for its intelligence and ability to predict other Pokémon. Rie calls it a Poké-Pyschologist even though it deduces actions by physical matters, not psychological.

Goodra: Dragon

It loves the rain and tbh who doesn't? Rie is more the type to sit inside with a warm drink and look out the windows than stand in the rain, though. She also finds Goodra cute and calm, though it does go to 100% when angry... Huh, kinda Rie-ish.

Alakazam: Psychic

Intelligence is a quality Rie needs in her life, or she gets incredibly bored. So of course a Pokémon that remembers everything is on her wavelength. Plus, it looks like it knows magic tricks. (It doesn't. It's close to hitting Rie the next time she asks how to cheat better at cards.)

Snom: Ice / Bug

I discovered this Pokémon while scrolling through the Pokédex for this project and it's my favourite now, so I had to give it to my favourite OC. Rie loves the snow and ice, more than the rain, and this cute little blue porcupine-y thing is “just so perfect.”

Rabsca: Bug / Psychic

She doesn't talk about it because it makes working in a male-dominated field harder, but Rie really wants to be a mother. And canonically, this Pokémon is always caring for an infant! Rie also likes how colourful (poisonous even) and dignified it looks.

(bonus) Kyurem: Dragon / Ice

It's a bonus because Rie wouldn't have it on her team, but if she were to catch a legendary it'd be this guy. Fits with her types and is waiting for a Trainer to fill it with “truth and ideals,” according to the official Pokédex.

Lunchtime - Matsuda x Reader (gender neutral)

synopsis_ after matsuda has a rough day, you try your best to comfort him during a lunch together

note_ this is the first fanfic i've written so yeah, i know it's really, really bad. but i love matsuda soo :)

Quickly going through your notes, you make sure to double-check all the names. Despite it being tedious work, you were interested in the new turns this case was bringing. Just a few months ago you joined as a member of the task force, looking to find and put an end to Kira, and now you were investigating the renowned insurance company, Yotsuba Cooperation.

Standing up, you made your way towards L, carrying the sizable stack of papers in your hands.

“Ryuzaki, Here's a list of domestic employees in the Yotsuba Group.”

“Thank you very much”, L said as you handed it to him. He started looking through the papers, and you being unsure of what to do next, awkwardly stood there watching him. While doing so, you felt someone's gaze fixed on you. Looking up, you saw who it was. Matsuda.

You smiled at him, and he smiled back.

Despite trying to keep up your enthusiasm, you couldn’t lie, this was all really draining on you. It had only been a handful of people in the police force who joined the Kira investigation, and your decision to do so didn’t come without its consequences. In the past few days, ever since your parents found out about the ultimatum given by the police force, they've been calling you nonstop and pressuring you to leave the investigation behind, saying that it wasn't worth losing your job over. At times, you agreed with them. All this pressure and putting your life at risk... made you wonder if your contributions to the team even made it worth the cost.

But Matsuda... made things a bit better. He was the only person in the task force you felt like you could really talk to. Everyone else was too serious, understandably so, but it didn’t help put your mind at ease.

For the past few weeks, you and Matsuda have been eating lunch together, discussing just about anything. Talking about the investigation, your otherwise somewhat mundane lives, your futures, and other things you found interesting. Whether that be senseless conspiracy theories on Kira or about how you thought L was leading the case.

You found a lot of comfort in these lunchtimes together. It was much more than just a lunch with a friendly colleague. It was a bit of normalcy and positivity in your otherwise gloomy and stressful life. And it wasn't just the upbeat conversations that helped. Whenever the feeling of worthlessness started to grow on you, when you felt like you might be nothing more than dead weight to the task force, he would hurriedly try to convince you otherwise, with one of his hands covering his mouth, still stuffed with food, leading to more than one occasion of him choking.

Now, as you were smiling at him, you recognized what he was feeling. You'd seen that look in his eyes many times before. Just like you did from time to time, he was also feeling quite useless to the task force.

His smile quickly dropped as he put on a more serious face.

"Ryuzaki! Is there anything I can do, besides being Misa's manager?"

"You want to be useful?" L asked, not sparing Matsuda a glance.

"Yes!" Matsuda answered eagerly. He seemed ready to do just about anything to prove himself.

"Then could you get me another cup of coffee?"

You cringed at L's reply and felt upset about how Matsuda seemed so defeated by L's request. It wasn't just L who made comments like that. Unfortunately, Matsuda was a frequent recipient of criticism from most of the task force.

Even so, he walked away to fulfill L's request, looking back at you for a moment. You tried to give him a sympathetic smile, and again, he smiled back, just like he always did. But this time, the smile seemed forced.

time skip to lunch time

You waited anxiously at the place where you and Matsuda usually had lunch. He was never this late, in fact, you two would usually walk here together. But you haven't seen him since he went to fetch L's coffee, and it was beginning to worry you. Matsuda was relatively good at not letting all of the stress and criticism get to him. He was always quick to bounce back and have a smile on his face. It was one of the reasons you liked him so much, and in a 'more than friendly colleagues' kind of way. But today might have been his breaking point.

After a few more minutes, you finally saw him coming your way. His hair was slightly disheveled, lunch in one hand and papers in another. You quickly straightened your back and put on a smile to try and brighten the mood that you knew wouldn't be all that great. However, the second he sat down, your face dropped.

His eyes were slightly red, and even though he had a smile on his face, it was obvious that he had just cried.

He quickly looked at his watch, "I'm sorry I was so late y/n! I seem to have lost track of time." he said letting out a laugh.

You looked at him as he quickly opened his lunch and started to eat. His eyes looking everywhere but at yours. You figured he didn't want to talk about what was going on. But you wanted to try your best to help him, so you decided to, albeit hesitantly, ask "Hey... Matsuda, are you feeling okay?".

"Of course I'm okay!" He replied almost too quickly, giving you a smile but still not looking directly at your eyes.

You leave it at that and let the silence take over, not wanting to push any further and make him uncomfortable. You also couldn't find it in yourself to continue normal conversations like you always did. Talking about how Kira might be a police officer or even a politician, or complaining yet again about how exhausting the security measures were for getting into the taskforce headquarters.

10 minutes passed by without another word exchanged and it only got increasingly unbearable for you. Lunches with Matsuda are never like this.

"I'm pretty useless aren't I?" he asked suddenly, though in a light-hearted way. The hurt in his voice was more than obvious. He leaned his head back, staring at the ceiling in an attempt to not cry again.

"What? Why would you even say that? Of course not." you say, putting your chopsticks down and looking at him. "I know how you must feel. I feel that way too a lot, but trust me, you're not useless."

"You don't need to lie to me, I'm not that stupid." He silently remarked, eyes finally meeting yours."

Your heart sank as you looked at his eyes, you finally realized just how much everyone's comments affected him.

"Matsuda... please don't say that. Just think about it. There were well over a hundred police officers in the Kira investigation before, and out of the seven who decided to continue, even when things seemed dangerous, you were one of them. You may not be L or Light, but you're you, and your contributions may be different from theirs, but that doesn't make them worthless."

"Y/n, I..."

"Also, I know that no one applauded or even recognized you for it, but you're the one who helped Light figure out the connection between Kira and the Yotsuba Group, right? That's such a huge lead! How could you ever think you're useless?"

"That was just one small thing. And like you said, only seven people continued. Only seven and yet, I'm still the most incapable and useless. It's not just me who thinks that, everyone does, and I can't even blame them. Everybody else is so serious and I feel like a stupid kid trying to fit in or be of help to someone. "

"No Matsuda." you interrupted while getting up from your seat. "You may think the way you act is "childish" or "stupid", but to me, your ability to stay positive even in such grim circumstances makes everything more... bearable, and I might not be able to speak for everybody else, but I know for a fact that you're the reason I keep on coming here every day, the reason I try my best to work towards finding Kira. I look forward to lunch together, not just because of our fun conversations, but because you give me so much energy and motivation to work harder. I just..."

Knowing the last thing you wanted to say to him, you embraced him in a hug, hoping he could feel all your thoughts and emotions through it. After a few seconds, he returned the hug, burying his face in the crook of your neck.

"Matsuda... I love you"

There was a long pause before his hug tightened.

He replied, "I love you too y/n."

You were sat in bed, holding your new novel gingerly and listening to the hum of your radio. It was a nice day, the sun shown through your bedroom window and kissed your face softly.

You heard the sound of the door opening and closing in the other room, the laugh of your husband as he wove around the cats and took off his shoes. You smiled to yourself as he came through the bedroom door with a feeble grin.

“Hey.” You said.

He trotted up to the closet, hanging his coat and then promptly face placed on the mattress with a sigh. You laughed at him and he picked his head.

“Hey.” He said.

“How was your day?” You asked, marking your page in your book and setting it on the nightstand.

“Mmmm… could’ve been better. Yours?” He scooted up the bed and dropped his head in your lap tiredly.

You smiled at him. “Boring, I missed you.”

Your fingers smoothed through his hair gently making him chuckle. “I missed you too.”

“How’s the transition going?”

Matsuda looked up at you with a unreadable expression. “You mean going from a detective on the most important case to an lowly officer picking up other’s slack? Awful.”

You tugged him up with hands on his cheeks and shoulders. “It will get better, I promise. It’s only been a few weeks., changes like this are expected.”

He kissed your cheek clumsily. “I hope.”

“You know the best part of the transition? I get to spend more time with you.” Matsuda smiled and wrapped his arms around your waist, placing little pecks on your neck.

“At least that’s permanent.” You smiled and snuggled into him, cradling your husband lovingly.

For a few minutes, you just held eachother in the warm light of the sunset. His lips placed the occasional soft kiss to your neck and your hands combed through his hair as he did so. Then he sat up and stared at your face with a strange look on his.

“What?” You asked with a giggle.

“Nothing… I’m just glad I met you.” You blushed and he continued with wide smile, “If there’s one good thing to come out of that case, it’s us.”

You agreed, curling his hair between your fingers with a curious. “Do you think it’s good that we got married during it instead of waiting?”

“Honestly, I’m just happy to be with you. I think the only person who cared was L, and that’s just because he had to wear something other than jeans.”

“Mmmm… but he loved the cake! Remember how he-”

“-ate half of it before we even got married? The look on his face when he realized you were supposed to wait so the couple could cut the cake!”

You laughed, “Even he had a great time though, he pulled me aside before and told me that he was happy for us. I think that’s when i realized he wasn’t fully a robot.”

Matsuda nodded into your shoulder. “I mean, we thought we could die at any second. And i’d rather die married to you.”

You kissed his forehead. “Life is better with you, Touta. I’m glad you spilled coffee on me that day.”

With a disgruntled sigh, Matsuda trailed a hand down his face, eventually stopping over his mouth as he continued to look through the various files they had for a case. It was the same difficult case that had him coming home more exhausted than ever.

It just didn't make sense!

The time and date of the disappearances all varied that you couldn't even tell they were all connected, but the timings of them, they were all too convenient to not be a coincidence. At least, that's what everyone said and agreed on.

Breathing out another heavy sigh, he slumped back on the couch, gazing up at the ceiling. He wanted to help in the case as much as he can, but how could he contribute when even he doesn't know what else there is? Everyone already knows the bare minimum: all of the abducted people have an age range of 16-25, and most of them were women and teenagers; suspected motive, human trafficking. Aside from that, everyone's at a blank. Nobody knew where the victims were possibly taken, and nobody knew who and where the next target taken might be.

Glancing at the papers once again, he tried to get his brain to work, to try and get it to see something he probably missed. He even tried to sit like L but it only made him uncomfortable.

"Why in the world are you sitting like Ryuyu?" He heard Otoha ask from behind him.

"I'm trying to activate my brain…"He flopped to the side, hugging his knees, "It's not working…"

"Aww, baby!" She cooed, leaning down to place a kiss on his temple before placing the mug she was holding on the table a little farther away from his papers. "Here, I made you a little something to help you with your stress." She said, rubbing the side of his arm with her now free hand.

"Thanks, Oto…you're the best." He smiled, sitting up and taking a sip out of the mug. A few seconds later, his face contorted to that of slight disgust, wrinkling his nose at the taste. "Uhm…Oto…what is this?"

"Chamomile tea." She cheerfully replied, taking a sip of her own tea. "It's really good, good for your health too."

Matsuda put the mug down, shaking his head, then hung it low to try and hide the look of disgust on his face from his girlfriend.

"Touta? What's wrong? Did you burn your tongue?"

"N-no, I…I just don't think this chamomile tea is my thing." He awkwardly chuckled, rubbing the back of his head.

She gasped, "Oh! That's okay, no worries."

He sighed then gave her a small smile, "Thanks for under—"

"I can brew you up with some mint tea instead!" She grinned, standing up and grabbing his mug before dashing off to the kitchen.

"Wait—huh?!?" Matsuda panicked as he followed her into the kitchen. "W-wait, baby, slow down!" Thankfully, he caught her just as she was about to grab another set of tea for him.

"Hmm?" Otoha hummed confused, tilting her head to the side. "Is something wrong? What do you mean slow down? I promise I won't trip or slip this time. I'm not that clumsy, you know." She huffed, puffing her cheeks.

Shaking his head, he replied, "N-no, I mean— about the tea. What I meant was, well…I don't..kind of like it." He sheepishly admitted.

"I know, that's why I'm making you another one. Now, what about mint? Oooh or maybe we could do lavender! Rose? Milk??" She beamed, taking out the tea boxes from an unknown tea stash Matsuda had never seen before. He didn't even know she likes tea and they've been living together for almost half a year now!

"No…Bunny..you're misunderstanding me.." He frowned, slumping his hands to the side, earning another confused look from his darling, " I don't like tea or any kind of tea in general."

Otoha blinked then screamed, "WHAT?! HOW COME?"

"I just don't like it…I mean…yeah, I grew up drinking green tea after a heavy meal but it doesn't mean I actually like it.." He admitted, shrugging.

"Okay, but honey honey honey honey— you've never tried British tea before— and I'll tell you it's the best tea there is and it'll absolutely blow and change your mind about tea!" Otoha grabbed all the tea boxes she had and looked at it him determinedly. "I promise!"

Matsuda nervously chuckled, "I never knew you liked tea. I rarely see you drink some. Well, aside from milk teas from stores. And those teas, where did they even come from? They weren't here before." He gestured to the stack of tea boxes in the cabinet.

"Oh, I LOVE drinking tea." She beamed, "It's just that Japanese tea is…well, not that good, no offense, so I rarely drink some. But then I remembered, I could just order some overseas! So I went online, ordered a bunch of tea I would normally drink back when I was still living in the UK and purchased some~. They just arrived earlier and I maaay have forgotten to tell you about it so that's why you didn't know about them." She looked through the boxes, seemingly trying to choose a flavor. "Oohh! Earl Grey! Wanna try it?"

Well...that's certainly news to him. Guess you really do learn something new every day. "It's alright, buns. I'll just get myself some coffee." He smiled at her, patting her back and kissing her on the cheek as he passed by her to brew his own drink.

"Is it really a good idea to drink more coffee when you're already sleeping less? I know it keeps you up so you could do your work but wouldn't it be more healthier if you drank tea instead?" She asked as she watched him. "You already drank twice today.."

"Yeah, but I just like coffee more than tea. It tastes better in my opinion." He replied, taking a sip of his newly blended coffee. "Plus, it does the job of keeping me awake more. U-uhm…Is there something wrong?"

"How dare you say coffee is better than tea." She glared at him.

"E-eh—"

"Tea is far more superior than coffee. It offers more health benefits and has a more refined taste than just being bitter. You can also add anything you want in your tea to make it more delicious and suitable for your taste. "

Matsuda held a hand up, "O-Oto—"

"Tea could also keep you up and wake your spirits if brewed right. It can also help decrease stress and—" Matsuda lowered his hand, the corners of his lips quirking up into a small smile as he listened to his girlfriend ramble about tea. It was amusing to see her getting worked up over something as little as which beverage was better.

"You know.." He spoke up, catching her attention, "Sometimes…I kind of forget you're British." He chuckled.

"Are you stereotyping me?" Uh oh. "Are you saying that just because I'm British I—"

"N-NO— BUNNY, SWEETHEART— YOU MISUNDERSTOOD ME— THAT'S NOT WHAT I MEANT—"

"Then what did you mean, Tou-kun?" Otoha's glare intensified, making Matsuda shrink back.

"I-I—"

"You're sleeping on the couch tonight." She huffed, flipping her hair back and walked out of the kitchen after finishing her tea.

Well….he did sort of deserve that…

Rubbing the back of his head, Matsuda let out a deep sigh.

There goes sleeping nice and comfortably in bed after work.

~~ *morning* ~~

Matsuda: *waking up* N-ngh…why does my pillow feel so he— *sees Otoha sleeping on top of him* O-Oto? *pokes girlfie bean*

Otoha: *wakes up* Oh…good morning…

Matsuda: W-why were you sleeping on top of me? Not that I have a problem…

Otoha: I missed you last night but you were already asleep and I didn't wanna wake you up so you could move 🥺🥺🥺

Matsuda: Oh…I hope you slept well then. *thinking: Shouldn't have made me sleep on the couch then ಥ_ಥ*

L Lawliet 🍰

first off, he doesn't laugh very often.

memes? nothing. jokes? nothing. sarcasm? nothing. This doesn't mean he doesn't find any of these funny, he just doesn't have the urge to actually laugh.

but Light falling down the Task Force stairs? YES.

L finds other things funny too but there's just... something special about watching Light mess up...

if he's around people he trusts he's likely to laugh more, at super not funny things especially. for example, bad puns, horribly edited memes or videos, and dark jokes are high on the list. (I may or may not also find these things very funny)

anyway that got into when he laughs. as for HOW he laughs: it varies depending on how funny something is.

Mildly amusing? Dry chuckle. almost sounds like a cough or the engine of a car if that makes sense. sometimes he will say (with no change in tone whatsoever), "haha. that was quite amusing."

Hilarious? the man is cackling and wheezing.

you guys might hate me but

Light is a GIGGLER!!!

this kind of embarrasses him so he can usually make it sound more like a chuckle, this is also how he does fake-laughs when he's Kira and wants to hide the crazy-laughs.

I think he'd find animals and cute stuff worth a little laugh just because it's amusing and they bring joy to his life

that said I think Kira version of Light wouldn't laugh as much. He's under a lot of stress, he doesn't see the joy in life any more. Light is just there to fulfil his mission, to cleanse the world of evil, and he's so dedicated to this cause that he doesn't find time to appreciate the good that already exists in this world

uhhh anyway other people laughing inevitably sets Light off too, even as Kira he struggles not to laugh when L or Matsuda does. Misa's laughs, not so much of a problem. They just concern him...

hold on this is kind of hard actually...

you know what, I think she'd make other noises instead of actual "laughs."

such as squeaking, squawking, honking, all those funny words used to describe people who laugh but don't really laugh. shakes her head and sighs a lot at dad jokes but she secretly loooves them.

if she actually laughs it will be hahahahahhahaa-gasp-hahahhahahaha where it gradually gets higher pitched and the sound stops and she's just breathing in a squeaky manner. Misa will also start waving her body and arms back and forth like she's going to hit her knees, but only hits air.

Misa used to be embarrassed about her laugh when she was little, but she grew to learn it just means she's happy! so she likes it

though she would never laugh if she's livestreaming or anything like that, like Light she'd have a fake laugh (a typical girly giggle) for such occasions.

Touta Matsuda 🦆

this guy is like so normal help hahjajjajjasjsj

I think he would often like scream and then laugh (especially on roller coasters, watching horror movies, being jump-scared, all that)

wheezes a little, goes "oh God- oh God- no no stop-"

his stomach starts to hurt because if Matsu starts laughing he just like. does not stop. he goes into hysterics.

would end up rolling on the floor and struggling to breathe

"Matsuda it was just a bad bee pun, are you alright?" because he'd suddenly be set off by one silly thing like that and just be chuckling and laughing and all for the next few hours. and expect it to start again if someone makes the mistake of saying "bees" in the next few days

Okay but his mouth would go all squiggly like Charlie Brown's when he's trying to hold in a laugh.

shoving his bright red face into a pillow and trying not to scream in laughter, literally this man is DYING at every lame joke. he loves really long jokes too.

Near 🧸

like L, he does not laugh very often

unlike L, this statement is ONLY true for when he's in the company of others. when alone I think Near does a fair bit of laughing, though it's quiet

it's just the kind of vulnerability and genuine enjoyment that he only feels safe to express when he's alone...

anyway Near's laugh is a little rough like he's not used to doing it. he might chuckle for a while, or just let out a quick and sharp "HA!" if he's more startled into laughter. the first one is more private, the second he might let out a couple of times in company

I think Near would also lie in bed at night and just laugh at the ceiling. maybe especially if he's had a bad day. it makes him feel a little better and reminds him that there are good things in the world! Because when Near laughs he remembers the other things that have made him laugh

it's a sign he likes and trusts someone if he laughs with them

Near can also mimic lots of different kinds of laughs. I feel like he's a storyteller, even if he only tells the stories to himself, so this skill can come in very useful!

Mello 🍫

HE HAS AN EVIL VILLAIN LAUGH

less disturbing than Light's Kira laugh BUT IT'S STILL KIND OF SCARY IF YOU'VE NEVER HEARD IT BEFORE

but most people are quick to realise he's just laughing. laughing a little like a crazy person but it's easy to tell, if you take the time to observe, that he's just genuinely enjoying himself

Matt ALWAYS knows what to say to make Mello laugh

(Mello tries not to laugh at Matt though, mostly because he's a little ass who doesn't want to give him the satisfaction)

Actually, his laugh is kind of sweet to listen to in a way??

I don't know how to explain that and the villain-laugh headcanon fitting together but they do, just trust me. it may sound evil but it is super sweet

The opposite of Near, he's more likely to laugh around others.

I think his favourite thing to laugh at is really bad movies. Just making fun of them, ridiculing the plot, and though some people thinks he sucks the fun out of it he finds it enjoyable

laughs often, doesn't GENUINELY laugh often.

he's a smoker right? well, I think that makes it clear that he's got a smoker's kind of laugh. he might end up coughing if he laughs too long

Matt's always had more of a throaty laugh though, he's a low chuckle kind of guy. unless he's tired or REALLY amused, in which case he'll cackle.

I think he laughs at himself often. Matt in particular I haven't seen his dn appearances in years but I think he's a pretty chill guy most of the time, happy to give a laugh if someone insults his fashion taste.
