love the colour scheme in death note. basing on sense of justice more than individuality or personality, but both come up.

L is blue, because he's detached and analytical when it comes to right and wrong. Light is red, because he's more rash/hot tempered and a strong believer in extreme punishment (plus the literal blood on his hands but L has that too). Red/blue is also common for opponents in anime, and they're almost opposite (contrasting colours) on the colour wheel.

Misa and Matsuda are both yellow, which is the third primary colour, meaning they're not really like either L or Light. Sure, Matsuda has a sense of justice but it's not subjective or selfish. He's a literal ray of sunshine and positivity in the grey Task Force. Sure, Misa is a Kira and in love with Light but her character's actually very different to him (it's such a shame she's never developed). She wants to bring sunshine - yellow - to people, even if it comes out only after a storm. That's why she's Kira. To help people, not to punish them.

Aizawa is green iirc and he has a sense of justice that's more sympathetic, like Matsuda and Misa, but also doesn't question that Kira needs to be destroyed like Matsuda does, in which sense he's more detached and b&w sense of justice like L. Y + B = G

Also OC wise, Rie is purple because she can see both Kira and L's version of justice, yet she's neither blue nor red because she doesn't believe fully in either. I have a problem with making my OCs morally complex fencesitters. R + B = P

↑ the sound of me sobbing pathetically because I started this December last year and JUST finished it. sobs. sobsobsobs.

I got a little lazy with the background but overall, considering how long ago I started, I think it looks really good! Not super canon but not super not canon...

!! I traced Misa's upper body (head + shoulders) and the book number, author, illustrator etc. block. !!

i love her <3 this was originally going to be the empty/空虚 cover, but the vibes are so different, I don't know why I thought it would work, haha. Naïveté isn't necessarily going to be a RieCanon arc though...

then I remembered. I made a VALENTINE'S DAY SKETCH DUMP TO POST. SO.

here are the fully rendered ones. It's a simpler style and my first time trying it, I plan to use it to draw Rie some canon panels. "w" face trio

13. What was their childhood “thing”?

Actually, Rie spend most of her time in books as a kid. Dinosaur books. Fairy tales. Texts by old dead guys (Freud and Descartes kind of thing). Anything with words. I guess that's not a thing in the way I meant it, though.

So, I'll say flowers. Rie had a long phase of memorising the scientific names of each one and its common meaning. She also liked making bouquets for her family and friends. If she had friends. I still haven't written her backstory.

I'll add though, lots of fanart of characters Rie likes. As for her page, it's probably the same colours as mine but with no information. she'd get blocked as a bot nonstop... But that's social media when you're part of the agency ‘L’.

22. Name a character from a different fandom they'd get along with.

This took a while to think up, but I think Kaori Miyazono from Your Lie in April. It's been a while since I watched it, but I still remember the way she and the story made me feel. They're both cheerful and positive despite the sadness in life, and the sadness they themselves have. I can't really get into explaining this more without rewatching it, but you guys should watch Your Lie if you haven't.

Also, Rei Kiriyama from March Comes in Like a Lion. The shows remind me of one another, though the characters are different. Rei is more like Kōsei than Kaori. Rie and Rei would probably play shogi together in thoughtful silence. Rie's not very good, though...

They're both a bit younger than Rie, but I found it difficult to think of other fandom characters in their twenties she'd get along with.

Thoughts ╾Rie / Light

GOOD MORNING I'm going to talk about Rie's + Light for a minute because I haven't posted much outside of rebirth recently and I love her.

some of it is just notes to remember tbh ahhshsh

- she gives him a sparkly pink pen with a pom-pom on the end after they learn about the death note because she thinks she's funny (light used it)

- she punched him once

- when watching the Yagami security footage she said: "my apologies chief yagami but your son is likely a psychopath. and also gay, but that's not something to apologise for."

- she really likes his hair

- one time she asked if she could cut open his head and study his brain (he said no)

- mimics his voice back at him whenever he says something annoying

- turns off the hot water system whenever he has a shower. also disconnects the light and A/C to his room, not too bothered about the collateral damage (L)

- drinks coffee and slurps it loudly whenever he's talking. she's so...

- is always badgering him about what a bad job he's doing as Kira and how much better she'd be at it in the hopes he'll correct her and thus prove his guilt/add facts to the case. also to show off. "Damn Light if I were Kira, everyone on this task force would be long dead just saying.... what are you waiting for, the opportunity for an evil monologue?"

- visited his house at one point to sweep for evidence

- doesn't actually dislike him, especially not when he's not Kira. maybe they could have been friends (who would still annoy the soul out of each other) in another life.
