Persona 5 Thiefsona

Howie Mizuki
Age: 15 (06/28)
Highschool: Shujin Academy
Codename: Angel
Theif outfit: His thief outfit is a navy leather body suit with a studded leather jacket(of the same color) and boots. His gloves are bright cyan(like yusuke but less saturated) and go over his sleeves. His outfit also has a blue devil tail attached to it and a black wings print on the back of his jacket. His mask is cyan and has to devil horns protruding above his eye brows.
Thief Weapons: Tridents and Pepperboxes
Backstory: A half African American, half Japanese first year at Shujin Academy. Because of his heritage and shy demeanour, Mizuki dosen't have many close friends, which makes him desperate to prove himself to others by acting like a morally upstanding student. Mizuki also has a special interest in Detective work, having looked up to the original detective prince since a young age.
After Kamoshida has his heart stolen by the Phantom Thieves, Mizuki believes this is his chance to solve a great mystery like his hero. Having witnessed the day Kamoshida confronted Ryuji over the calling cards, Mizuki guesses that Sakamoto is the Thieves leader. Mizuki then follows the Thieves into Mementos, which gives his phone the Meta-nav app.
After feeling rebellious, Mizuki gains a thief outfit but no persona. Mizuki then encounters the Thieves and challenges them to a battle... and loses. However, Mizuki's will to rebel against the Thieves and bring them to justice awakens within him a persona, Saint. His persona has power over truth, which grants Mizuki a minor navigation ability, and power over deception, which grants Mizuki illusion based powers, reflecting Mizuki's unconscious belief that the truth is more subjective than he thinks it is. Before the Thieves can properly explain what's going on, Mizuki uses his persona's power to escape.
From then on, Mizuki works to stop the Phantom Thieves by fighting them in Mementos, but losing each time. Mizuki decides against telling the police on them because he dosen't have any solid evidence on them and because he secretly wonders if the Phantom Thieves are right.
When Akechi makes his deal with the Phantom Thieves, Mizuki approaches him with the small amount of evidence he collected during his journey. Akechi then "introduces" Howie into the Phantom Thieves as another member that will also "disappear" after Sae's heart is stolen. During the mission for the frame up, the Phantom Thieves position Howie in a safe place where he could see for himself that Akechi was corrupt. Howie then realises that he was wrong all along, and joins the Phantom Thieves of his own accord to help take down Shido.

“It was a rare treat to have her with him in the field during a mission, even more so given the fact that she was dressed so impeccably as a sleek and elegant black cat. Her satin gown was a different cut from the one she'd worn on that unforgettable night in Mendoza, but it fit her just as perfectly, with a mermaid skirt which hugged her curves deliciously, and a strapless sweetheart neckline. Her opera-length black gloves were another reminder of Argentina, and the addition of a pair of tastefully bejeweled cat ears on her head and a Colombina half-mask with painted-on whiskers rounded out the ensemble.
47 hadn't known what to wear, and she had helped him settle on a Phantom Of The Opera costume. Of course, it was entirely possible that he would change his disguise before the night was over, so who was to say what else he might end up dressed as? A vampire, perhaps? Or even a pirate? Those were quite common options, at least according to his research.”
Wondered what inspired you for the costumes specifically, but anything you want to share is great :)
Oooo! This is an easy enough one for me to answer since I wrote this quite recently.
So, costumes. Background info, I have a diploma in fashion design, so costumes are my jam.
I thought that a black cat inspired-outfit would be fitting for Diana; both sexy and elegant. I started with her Mendoza dress as a baseline, but changed the details to make it distinct from it. And I wanted it to stay classy - no tacky details that would take away from the overall effect (Diana would never!)
I actually spent a bit of time researching Venetian carnival masks, because at first I was just using the term 'half-mask', but I wasn't sure whether that would convey that it was the top half rather than the bottom half. So I specified the term Colombina because that was closest to the look I wanted.
As for 47, something about him dressed as the Phantom of the Opera just seemed really fitting. Full disclosure, I have never seen the play or the film myself, so I don't know all the details of the story. Out of curiosity, I read a synopsis, hoping that I could borrow some suitable detail, maybe incorporating it into the method 47 would use to take out the target. Unfortunately, nothing seemed to fit very well with what I had in mind, so I leaned into the stage magician aspect instead.
Deciding on the magician costume for the target was sort of the first thing that came to mind, but once I had settled on it, it turned out to be really fun! I loved the idea that 47 doesn't know about the classic pulling a rabbit from a hat trick, and that Diana wants to surprise him with that by bringing him to a magic show, knowing his fondness for bunnies ^_^
It was also fun to think about how 47 would view the tradition of dressing up for Halloween. He's always putting on costumes and pretending to be someone else, so I liked the idea of putting him in a situation where that opened up a lot of options for him (though alas, he didn't make use of the opportunity in the end!) The idea of him putting time into researching Halloween beforehand just struck me as so endearing - like, he doesn't completely understand it, but he wants to know what people typically dress up as and such. Adorable!
Other than that, one notable thought is that I was inspired by two prompts in the tagset for this fic - the one I filled mentioned costume parties, the full moon, and the details of a mission fic with romantic undertones. But Spicycajun also had a request that mentioned the Isle of Sgail specifically - and that location is one of my top two favorites from the WOA trilogy! (the other is Dartmoor, naturally) It also fit the 'old castle' suggestion, so it was perfect! :D

Have you ever been scared by a customer, either on purpose or by accident
I mean we got customers like Adam who look pretty frightening in the right lighting, not to mention customers like Eric that like to hide in the shadows all the time
Funnily enough, one of the biggest fears is tripping over Victor (he'll lie down on the floor and pass out). I usually just yell for Henry (of the Clerval variety) or just gently nudge him out of the way with my foot.
Erik likes making sudden loud noises at the piano. And then he laughs when people jump.
Adam? Nahhh. Everyone loves him. He once startled Dorian by mistake and next thing you know, it's a hug-fest. Turns out Dorian likes enveloping hugs.

Hyde once put on a red cloak and mask and scared the ******* out of Prince Prospero.
I applaud that.

Henry Clerval came in today with Victor slung around his neck. I told Yves it's called a fireman's carry, but Yves keeps insisting it's a fashion scarf.
...I don't even know if Victor was awake.

Day 47 & 48
“We can’t stop them.”
“Umm… What about a distraction? It can’t stop them all but it may reduce their numbers.”
“Ok… but how?!”
“… How about a bigger threat?”

Regem sat alone by the rooftop as he waited. It reminded him of a certain phantom thief; however, he had long realized its advantages. One would be the fact that from here, he could see everything that was happening below. And so far, he didn’t like it. As much as he wanted to pretend that he was merely sightseeing, that was not the case. For all he could see were countless of enemies on every road of the city, followed by numerous tanks and trucks. It was almost an endless river. Armed of their best weapons, Erick watched as all headed into one direction: the location of the capital city.
His earphone suddenly sparked into life. A few words were spoken yet he understood it fully. Standing up, Regem prepared himself, even doing a few stretches beforehand. “How ironic,” he said to himself as he removed his gloves, “that I used to research how to eradicate this…”
Sliver markings began to appear on his skin, cracking like a scattering glass. Despite the years of having this, the energy still felt quite foreign in his hands. Regem breathed as the power began up in his palm until he raised it to the air.
And released it.
A masssive beam of essence erupted. White noises crackled loud through the clouds as it quickly spread and overtook the skies. Its impact so powerful, it resonated through the city like a tsunami and caught everyone's attention.
They could only watch as a corruptive static storm formed in front of their eyes.
Under his mask, Regem couldn't help but smile a bit. “Who expected I’ll be creating it myself…”
With the wave of his arm, the storm dropped..
