Nine-Tailed Travel Guide through the Multiverse Event!

Finally- it's here! You're free to enter any time if you wish, free of charge! Just upload your submission using the tag made for this event and you're golden! All you need is an au already to join in if you want!

This is the first event I ever put together, so there will certainly be a lot of rough edges with this, but I'm trying my best.

If you have any questions, please leave them in the comments and I'll try to answer them to the best of my abilities. :D

Ember: "Hm. Well, s-sorry to disappoint, but I don't really have much in terms of extended family. My grandma on my mom's side died when she was a teenager and I don't know anything about my grandpa. And on my dad's side . . . well, you guys already know what's going on over there. My dad has a brother who's still alive though! Uncle Eclipse is really fun!"

So we know about their parents and their best friends, but what about extended family? Do the kids have an aunt, uncle, cousin, grandparent, etc. they're close to?

The Robotnik kids being hybrids gets really funny when you start really thinking about it. (Spark and Dawn I mean. Ember is 100% hedgehog.)

At a glance, it looks like they're half hedgehog, half bat, but then you remember that Shadow is like half Black Arms. So that means Spark and Dawn are actually half bat, 25% hedgehog, and 25% Black Arms XD Hmmm, maybe I should redesign one of them just a bit and give them a tail or something.

The Hedgehog kids have a smilar thing going on with their names . . . kinda. They're all short and simple. Not overly fancy. My thinking was that Sonic and Amy both have relatively short names and they'd want to keep that with their kids.

Joy and Lux - Both three letter names. Super short!

Rose - Short and a clear reference to Amy's maiden name!

Elise - Note quite as short, but simple! (Also obviously named after Princess Elise. (Don't ask me why she is. XD I haven't figured out yet how much Sonic remembers of 06 in my Sonic-verse.))

Chip - Short, simple! (And named after Chip!)

I really love the naming scheme for the Robotnik kids.

Ember - evidence of a dying fire, but if nourished, can be coaxed back into a roaring flame

Spark - the beginnings of a fire

Dawn - the start of the day; the first signs of the sun after the night is done

They all have to do with light. Light that is going to grow. I think that's beautiful. :D

Spark and Dawn are Ember's little siblings!! They are Shadow and Rouge's biological children and were both born after Ember was adopted.

Ember: "Awwww, I have to choose just one? Hmm . . . Oh! I think I'll have to say enchiladas! So good! They're pretty easy to make gluten free and they go really well with Spanish Rice, which is to DIE for!"

(Shadow has Celiac Disease in my personal Sonic-verse because I decided to project! 👍 I haven't decided yet who between Spark and Dawn has it as well, but I know at least one of them does!)

Beta Ember was genetically programmed to have accelerated growth. (This was because GUN was impatient and wanted to start training and using him as soon as possible and not have to wait for him to grow in the tube) Every month or so he would spend a night doing a year's worth of growing! It was a very painful process, one that Sonic and Rouge had to stay up all night with him for.

In canon, since Shadow wasn't dead and there wasn't a super pressing reason to have Ember ready to go as soon as possible, I decided that Ember doesn't have this. He grew at a normal pace once he was out of the tube.

What does Ember think of Scourge?

Hmmm, this is a hard question to answer. I'm not sure if Scourge is actually in the canon of my personal Sonic-verse. I'm still trying to figure out exactly how to work him in. This also depends on if Scourge is still a villain by the time Ember comes into the picture.

For the moment, let's assume Scourge is half-way redeemed by this point in the story. He's not all evil anymore, but he's not exactly all good either. A lot of people still don't like him and he does the occasional questionable thing, but hey at least he's TRYING!

In this scenario, Ember's pretty intimidated by him. He's not exactly sure what to think of him since all the opinions of him are mixed. Scourge has never been openly hostile to him, but he's still scary. Ember appreciates that Scourge helps deal with threats when they need him. But overall, Ember is unsure if Scourge can be trusted in the long run.

He tends to bite things when he's nervous (pencils, fidget toys, backpack straps, water bottles, hoodie strings, etc.) but he doesn't bite people.
