Macaque Drabbles #1

Alright, First Post Let's start off right with my boi Macaque! I always had a love for his character which is weird cause at first I didn't really care for him. But nooow he my bby <3 Sorry if he seems a bit ooc I'm trying to pin on how i'm going to write them. This is going to also happen with other characters to so please don't pay no mind.

Character(s): Liu Er Mihou | Six-Eared Macaque (Lego Monkie Kid) x GN! Reader Insert

Genre: Fluff, A bit of angst if you look under a microscope.

⋘ 𝑙𝑜𝑎𝑑𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑑𝑎𝑡𝑎…⋙

He can hear the whispering air of the night soft winds that harbor secrets of many in its wake. He can take in the first pearls of raindrops onto the window that merely sits a few feet away from him. Sounds of rain bring comfort to the room where he lies, but they can never drown out the sound of your heartbeat. Its song sang so softly into his ears like a melody.

He can never understand why you make him feel such a way. Long ago, you were nothing more than a blurred face in the crowd.

An unimportant character in his story.

But, here you lie next to him enclosing him within your warm embrace. You're vulnerable with him, you leave yourself unguarded in his presence. You touch him like an ancient jewel; he can feel your eyes looking at him. Aware that they hold such softness, such love for him.

You were willing to stay up and watch over him until he dreams. He knows you are not tired, yet you still try to keep him calm in his time of need. You are everything he never knew was possible for him to have.

You are his everything.

You are beautiful even when your eyes look straight ahead lost in thought while he curled up against your chest with one arm wrapped around his waist. You are all he needs, and you know that.

That is his favorite part about you.

You are all he wants, and he wouldn’t change anything.

His hand reaches forward to trace along your shoulder blade. Your eyes flutter closed, feeling his cold fingers trailing down your skin. His fingers send shivers down your spine as his hand travels lower and lower till finally stopping at your waistline where they now rest.

"I love you.." He mutters.

"Love you too.."

You paid no mind to his sudden confession of love knowing that he rarely likes to admit it. But It seems like tonight is different. His breath fans against your neck, his voice sending goosebumps down your arms.

"No, it's just…" Macaque sighs. "It's you who makes me feel like I've been reborn into something new. You give me something precious and special to hold onto forever."

His words send chills down your spine. You feel your heartbeat pick up as his lips brush lightly against yours as he whispers, "That means more than anything to me. Nothing you do will ever change how I feel about you. I love you so much."

You could see the sincerity shining in his eyes, it was clear to see that this love he felt was true. It didn't matter to you whether he told you or not you just know deep in your heart that this man loves you wholeheartedly and deeply.

And that alone made you smile.

You let out a small yawn before speaking.

“We should get some sleep…” You suggest, but Macaque doesn’t respond just continues to stare intensely into your eyes. You look back at him noticing his gaze is now turned downward to your lips.

“Macaque?” Your question is answered by a kiss pressed gently against your lips.

You could tell his eyes were closed, but there was a spark of light shining behind them. You returned the gesture kissing him once more letting his warmth spread throughout your entire being. His hand reached up to cup your cheek as another kiss was placed against your lips.

A gentle hum escapes from your throat as you pull away slightly. You couldn’t help it, you were completely entranced by the monkey laying in front of you. Your hands reach out, intertwining with his as you lay down together under your blanket and pull him closer to you.

There was still a bit of distance between the two of you as he lay in your arms. His fingers laced with yours as his head rested comfortably on your chest, your free hand resting on his back. He seemed comfortable enough with you to just relax fully as your fingers began to dance their way up and down his back. A soft sigh escaped his lips as his eyes closed. He looked so peaceful lying there in your embrace.

You wanted to stay like this with him forever.

You don’t have any plans of moving anytime soon if you’re being honest.

“Goodnight…” You whispered, and he hummed again in response before falling asleep.

Sun Wukong and Macaque whith GN! Reader

In which you accidentally step on their tails😬

Sun Wukong

You were just going to fetch something. Totally normal, innocent and completely unaware of your surroundings. When suddenly you hear a yelp!

You freeze and as if in slow motion, you look at your foot, then at a tail, your gaze follows the trail of the tail to its owner being none other than Sun Wukong who is bearing a heartbreaking expression of absolute betrayal and hurt in his eyes. Immediately you stepped off his tail!

Your apologies started as well as the poor monkey King caressed his hurt tail away from you. You begged his forgiveness but he pouts and turns his back to you.

You know his tail was sensitive so in your natural guilt you told him you'd do anything. His ears perked up at that "Anything?" he asked to which you replied "Of course".

If only you could see his smirk...

He turns to you teary-eyed as he says: "Cuddle with me? " and immediately you sit on the couch with him, cuddling him and giving him kisses. Overall comforting him.

If you try to move away he WILL use your guilt against you.

"Where are you going? I see, you just step on my tail and then leave me" you narrow your eyes at him but you relent and he happily welcomes you into his arms with grabby hands peppering your face with kisses and then nuzzling into you with the biggest smile on his face.

That's right, you are stuck with him the whole day. Everything that day, you do for him.

"Wow! We should make a holiday out of this day!" as soon as you turn to him with a suspicious look on your face he continues "As the day you mercilessly stepped on my poor poor tail" one hand dramatically set on his forehead as the other caresses his tail for emphasis.

You made him his favourite food and you watched his favorite show that has him as the main character till you pass out.

The next day comes and you watch over the training session with MK. You watch as they spar when MK accidentally hits Wukong on his tail. MK grimaces, apologizing to his master while Wukong just laughs.

"It's ok bud! It's sensitive but not THAT sensitive, see?" he then uses his tail as an improv chair to show himself off... that is until you appeared behind them, hands on your hips, fury in your eyes.

"Oh, I definitely see." The Monkey King, Sage Equal to Heaven froze, his expression one of horror. "Peaches ~~~" he tries but to no avail. You are fuming!

How dare he use your guilt against you! You were really worried for him. you storm away with a very apologetic King on your tail.

Let's just say the next day was your day cause there's no way this immortal monkey will rest until you forgive him.

Macaque

When you step on his tail not only do you jump from his yell, he is genuinely crossed with you. He doesn't even let you apologise, he just pouts and goes into the shadows, leaving you there yelling "I'm sooorryyyyyy!

The day goes by with you trying to call him without success. Successive texts apologising were ignored.

You made his favourite food for dinner when he showed up. With teary eyes, you latch yourself onto him apologizing.

"Heeyyy! What are you talking about? Oh! Do you mean my tail? It's ok, it was an accident!"

"So you forgive meeee?" you ask him with big eyes.

"Sure" he chuckles "Wow! you made my favourite food! Today just keeps getting better! A whole day's nap and a great dinner!"

"Come again?"

"Yeah, I was upset and went to walk to let some steam and see if my tail was alright but then I forgave you, saw this nice tree and started writing my next play based on this event and took a nap till now- Why are you looking at me like that?"

"I tried to call you several times! I left you texts! I was worried!"

"What texts?" he goes to check his phone when his face got horrified at the number of missed calls and unbelievable number of unread texts. He looked at you sheepishly, his hand went to rub his neck "Caaaaaan you believe I had my cell on silent... ?...... Heh..... Silly me..... Heheh..? "

Now it was your turn to pout. You were worried about the very relationship and he was napping??? You turn your back on him, as you stomp into your shared room.

"Wait! I'm sorry alright? Where are you going?"

"NAPPING!"

...

"Sooo, does that mean you forgive me? Sugarplum? Come on!"

You quickly forgave him however since no doors can stop your shadow-wielding cute boyfriend into cuddling in an absolute apologetic mission.

Hi, I was wondering if I could request some headcannons for being best friends with Macaque while also being Wukong's S/O? Like the reader is part of Monkie Kid Gang and they somehow formed a friendship with Macaque during adventures or something.

Wukong with an S/O who’s best friends with Macaque

You and Macque developed a friendship while saving Wukong and the rest of the world from the Lady Bone Demon.

Wukong became aware of your friendship as you two talked to each other after everyone was safe and you all had noodles to celebrate.

Oh, you better believe Wukong is jealous with every fiber in his immortal being, seeing Macaque getting all buddy-buddy with you knowing he’s probably just doing it to make him mad makes him bare his fangs while crossing his arms.

Of course, Macaque was genuinely your friend but he couldn’t help but relish in the fact it made Wukong mad. Doing subtle things like placing his hand on your shoulder and brushing his tail against you while Wukong crushed whatever was in his hands which in turn made Macaque cackle.

You were very much aware of Wukong’s jealousy as you consoled him over and over he was YOUR boyfriend and you were HIS s/o.

You would cup his face in your hands as you kissed it over and over, taking his attention off of the darker monkey back onto you, replacing his scowl with a love-sick expression as his tail turned into a heart shape.

Macaque soon stopped doing things to purposely piss Wukong off as he had genuine respect for you and your friendship, but he just couldn’t help it at first it was just too funny!

Wukong learns to accept it later on, knowing of course you can be friends with whoever you want and he respects your friendships and boundaries.

This doesn’t stop them from butting heads, that’s never gonna change.

Sometimes you intervened if it looked like they were going to physically fight, leaving them hanging their heads low in shame that they fought in front of you.

“Sorry peaches…”

It has been a few week of him trying to defeat the noodle boy to get his staff

As expected, he fails again and again, machines after machines being crushed by that stupid staff and that stupid monkey boy

Knowingly that there's no use for his machines since they only go to his scrap corner

Until an idea pops up in his big demon smart boy brain

What if he kidnaps someone who is dear to MK and bargain them for the staff!

I mean, if that stupid noodle boy loves his friends so much he would do everything to get his best friend back!

Brilliant! Amazing plan even!

Meanwhile, you were hanging out with Mei and MK in the anti-gravity arcade, having the greatest time if your life

Until the ceiling broke down...

You were immediately grabbed by the demon bull clones and tied up so you wouldn't escape.

"Redson?! Get back here with our best friend!" MK shouted at the bull prince who has you in his arms as you struggle.

"Never! Catch me if you can, noodle boy and dragon horse girl!" Redson yells back as he laughs dramatically and surrounds him, you, and the bull clones with his fire to teleport away.

Now you are hung from the ceiling in his lair, if that's what you like to call it considering the lava pool, tools, materials, engines, and many more are laying around the gigantic room.

"Let me go!" You demanded "What are you planning now, Redson? Y'know MK is gonna MK.O!!™ you again right?"

Redson scoffs a laugh, lifting up his welding mask to look up at your hanging state as he puts down his blowtorch.

"After I finish my invention, we will go up to the mountain where my father was imprisoned..." He started to monologue "and then... I will exchange your life for the staff! ...that noodle boy cares for you so much that he will give it to me willingly! And once I have the staff is mine... MY FATHER WILL GAIN HIS POWER AND BE THE GREATEST RULER OF THE WORLD!"

Redson's dark and overdramatic laughs echoes through the room as the lava's light reflected behind him, creating a giant menacing shadow of himself on the walls.

Meanwhile you only blink twice at him, not being effected by the intimidating aura that the prince made.

"You think I'm worth more than the staff?" "What"

"Well, you basically said that I'm the same price as the staff... Do you think I'm that special?" You grin at him while he was only flabbergasted by your words.

"W-what?! NO YOU IDIO--" "I don't know, like, you kidnapping me, thinking that I'm enough to be exchanged with the staff, you could've picked Mei but you chose me!"

Redson gave you a dumbfounded look, his eyebrows furrowing in frustration as you explain your conclusion.

"Like, you took effort to kidnap me, you think I'm that worth of effort? No one has ever done that for me" You continue as you sniffle a bit.

"Did-did you forget about the part where I said about my world domination?" Redson simply ask as he gives you a deadpanned stare.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry! I'm just so happy right now, you think I'm worth more than the staff? You think I'm that unique?" "Shut up, you're delusional."

While he made his invention to secure his plan, you were in the background trying to make him admit that he thinks you're special

You're not what he thinks you are that's for sure, with you being a giggling mess while you're LITERALLY CAPTURED BY TYE DEMON BULL PRINCE

He expected you to be like MK and Mei, someone who wrecklessly fighting anything that move...

Not someone who is off to delulu land with quips at the back of your hand

He definitely regrets the kidnapping plan

🍌 || MACAQUE !!

After the 'stealing-wukong's-powers-from-MK' plan didn't work, he couldn't find anymore information or updates in MK's life

Macaque has to keep a close eye on him afterall, considering he is Wukong's apprentice

So why not get one of MK's best friends? He can't just lurk in the shadows

Sure, that'll work but he needs more dept and personal stuff about MK, to find something to hold him back

So while you were on your way back home, not paying attention to your surroundings that was when Macaque took the opportunity.

You took a step and before you knew it, you were falling down to the ground into a theater place for shadow puppet shows.

You landed on your back on the wooden ground, making you raise your brow in confusion cause you remember that you were walking on a pedestrian.

As you look around the place, you hear a dark echoey chuckle from behind you making the hair on your skin rise.

You stood up immediately to see none other than the shadow of the six-eared Macaque.

"Hey, doll..." He chuckles again, his grin getting wider as his shadow shrinks and he turns into his monkey form.

"Macaque?! What am I doing here?! Are you here to hurt me?! Well bad luck, monkey!" You glared at him making him smirk.

"Don't worry, don't worry, I'm not here to hurt you, I'm just here to borrow you for a while" Macaque says shrugging, getting closer towards the stage that you stood on.

"Me?" You ask in full confusion, your body relaxing as you put down your defenses.

"Mhm... You see, hiding in the shadow is not enough for getting information and I need you get me some," Macaque answers.

You pause as each side of your lips starts to slowly rise, "Me?"

"Yup, if you don't comply... then I might take back the 'I won't hurt you' part, simple, hm?" Macaque threatens with a hum.

You pause again, longer this time "me?"

"Yes, you..." Macaque sighs as he gives you a 'are you deaf?' look.

You held your laugh for a while before laughing aloud, Macaque, ofcourse felt as if you're underestimating him as he gets a little grumpy at your reaction.

"Wh- why are you laughing huh?!" "Pfft-- sorry! Sorry, sorry, it's just... I don't know it's funny"

"Funny how?" Macaque ask as he raises his eyebrow in frustration and crosses his arms.

"I don't know, you could've chosen anyone that could stalk MK for you but you chose me! Hah! I just didn't expect that someone would actually put effort on me" you laugh out.

"Effort?" Macaque questions, he wouldn't disagree with himself but he's definitely worried for your well-being.

"Yeah, I mean, you could've just sended me a text saying 'give me information or you're dead' text like my other exes, but here we are!" You continue to blabber making Macaque give you a concerned look.

"I-what..." "Yeah! I'm kinda flattered that you put so much effort on me, kidnapping me, tracking me down, watching which street I go to-- okay that's kinda creepy--" "okay, stop"

Macaque has to make you stop so he can continue his plan

He's mostly concerned about you cause who tf reacts like that?

He had to make a deal with you to proceed with his 'information gathering' plan but you always gawk at the fact that he chose you out of all people

Easing the Pain

Macaque x Platonic! Gn! Reader

Summary: You may have physically moved past the events dealing with the Lady Bone Demon, but you did not move on mentally, and Macaque is there to help you through it

Warnings: Lego Monkie Kid season 3 spoilers, reader being traumatized, Macaque potentially acting OOC, reader using they/them pronouns, and mention of nightmares

You couldn’t sleep again. Another nightmare plagued your mind. It had always been this way. After everything that had happened with The Lady Bone Demon, something inside you had changed. You would constantly get nightmares about what happened, and due to that you couldn’t sleep as much. You sighed, staring up at the ceiling while you laid back on your bed.

You then heard the familiar sound of a portal opening and shutting as you casually moved your eyes to your right, only to see a familiar brown monkey. You smiled softly.

“Hey, Macaque,” you rasped out. Macaque’s yellow eyes widened slightly, whether because of your disheveled appearance or that fact that you were even awake at that hour.

“Uh . . . hey kiddo,” Macaque slightly stuttered. You two sight in an awkward silence until you moved your eyes back ahead to look at the ceiling.

“What’s up? Coming to watch me sleep?” You teased. Macaque chuckled awkwardly, sitting down on the floor next to your bed.

“No not really, just wanted to check in on you, after well . . . y’know . . .” Macaque trailed off. Your smile faded away slowly.

“Macaque, I’m fine, you don’t need to worry, I’m just having a bad dream here and there occasionally,” you rasped out once more. You didn’t want him to worry. These were your troubles and your troubles to deal with alone. Macaque looked at you with a hard look.

“No, kid, I don’t think you get it. I know you’ve been dealing with more than just a few ‘bad dreams’, and I can clearly tell you’re hurting,” he sternly said. You turned your head away from him. When you didn’t respond to him he continued, “and that’s ok, but what’s not ok is you hiding it and not opening up to anyone about it.” You stayed silent as your body started to shake.

“I guess it would feel nice to open up about all this,” you tried to say it lightly, but it only came out as a pathetic murmur as your voice started to waver. You turned your head to Macaque with tears in your eyes, “I just don’t know what to do.” Macaque looked at you sympathetically.

“That’s alright, we can talk more about this tomorrow,” Macaque cooed. He raised his hand to your head and slowly started to pet it, “just go back to sleep, kid. I’ll be here, in case you have a nightmare.” You nodded, slowly feeling yourself falling asleep. And for once in what it felt like years, you finally had a good night’s sleep without any nightmares.

I wrote the majority of this on my phone lol. This didn’t really turn out like I wanted it to but it’s fine. Sorry macaque was ooc here this was my second time really writing him. Sorry if this was pretty short too.

How Macaque would act as your bf!

Sorry this took so long to be out out guys, I've been busy all day packing for going over to my grandma's house for two days and playing acnh.. I hope you guys will understand and I will try to post more tomorrow!

• Doesn't always act like he loves you, but you mean the WORLD to him.

• He tells you often that if you weren't there for him when he needed it most, he probably woulding be where he is rn

• Whenever you two cuddle, you'r face is buried in macaque's chest and you're arms around his neck while his head is in the crook of your neck and him arms wrapped around you're waist or vice versa.

• Tell you how much you mean to him often.

• "I'm so glad I fell for someone like you, someone who is perfect."

• Takes you on picnic dates and there only places you two know of have a very strong connection to.

• I feel like he wouldn't be much to show of but at times he does do a little show off play for you once in a while

I'm so sorry I couldn't fit more in but I'm kinda just physically and mentally drained rn. I will still try to upload everyday even at my grandma's house but it will most likely around 7 when I post or around when everyone goes to bed. I will do a part 2 of this if you guys want, maybe with some jealousy or kissy stuff but I'll see you guys later! 💜

"Hey umm can you not please." MK said covering his face to hide from the sickeningly sweet display.

You chuckled as the boy shuffled past the two of you muttering a 'hello'.

Could I request macaque, Mk, and wukong( separate) x chubby nonbinary reader. Like the reader has issues with eating infront of people. They just feel like they need to eat less than everyone else and should hold back on the food. And it progresses where they don't eat out with anyone and isolate themselves to avoid what they deem as judgement.

MK- concerned lad :( I hc that his favorite thing to do when hanging out with people he cares about is having some good food for good company. So when you turn the noodles down, when you don’t even partake in your favorite snacks that he bought for you–he feels bad and worries a lot. However he hates the idea of pushing your boundaries so it probably takes him a while to even ask about it. He tells you that while he can’t force you to eat anything he is worried about your health. He loves you the way you are, he would hate to see you destroy yourself by not eating. In an effort to help he offers to maybe hang out just in his apartment more often so you don’t feel so watched and he will definitely turn around if it makes you feel better. He also amps up his complimenting game and focuses on you as a person rather than just your physical qualities.

Macaque - he’s upset, not at you, but at the reality that he can’t do more to help you. He loves you and how sweet you are to him, how could you treat yourself badly? He shows you some professional resources like therapy, since he knows that he himself isn’t exactly cut out to solve this problem. He also makes an effort to indulge you in the foods you really like to hopefully encourage you to partake, even if it means he has to face away from you or that you two end up eating in his dojo rather than a restaurant. He always reassures you that he thinks you’re perfect and that he would never judge you for something like this. Macaque will also become more physically clingy so be prepared for that. He may also write some poetry for you ;)

Wukong - feels terrible!! That’s his s/o!!! And he has to help!! Obviously, he gives you some time to see if you’ll come to him about the issue on your own. However if you don’t he’s inclined as your boyfriend to express his concerns for you and ask what steps you’d like to take and which steps you want him there for. He’ll do his best to make you feel comfortable with food and eating, especially around other people. May start off small like eating in his hut and gradually expand to a place like Pigsy’s–either way he will not throw you into the deep end. He gives you a lot of encouragement, even for “small” steps. To him, seeing you make any progress at all is a victory and he makes sure you know that regardless of how you look, he’s proud of you and he loves you unconditionally.

content warning: gender is not mentioned for the reader. a bit OOC perhaps? a small blood mention, macaque has commitment and abandonment issues, that's about it.

Wukong loves you like how birds love to sing their chirps at dawn. Like it’s second nature, like he feels so moved by your light he needs to sing out his endearment.

His love envelops you in warmth and whispers promises of eternal devotion and admiration. Every day with Sun Wukong is bound to be a joyous one, even the ones that don’t start out the best eventually get infected by his contagious smile and energy.

He absolutely despises seeing you upset, so he does his best to cheer you up with a joke or one of his antics.

And you do end up cracking a smile, no matter how upset you might have been.

How could you not? When the legendary Monkey King is fumbling over himself just to make your sadness dissipate? How can your chest not flutter when he takes your hand in his, as if to ground you (or himself, maybe both, you aren’t quite sure) before he peppers your face and neck with kisses that tickle. You start to giggle and by the Gods, you swear the softness in his eyes could kill you.

It ends with you and him tangled in each other. His legs sandwiched with yours, his arms around your middle with fingers that caress whatever patches of skin they can reach, His head is hidden in the valley between your shoulder and your neck as you run your fingers in his mane, feeling elated from the soft sighs and purrs that escape him. There in your small shared corner of the world, you both bask in the bliss that comes with being near each other.

Macaque, on the other hand, loves you like the tides love the moon. In silent reverence.

It’s a constant push and pull with him. One moment he’s all around you, engulfing you, coming at you at full force, crashing into you. And the next he’s nowhere to be seen. Please don’t take his occasional absence to heart, The shadow demon has had his fair share of troubles, and while he is working hard to grow past them, it cannot be helped that he falls prey to the repercussions.

In truth he is scared, because the last time he trusted someone so much, felt this safe within someone’s arms, he ended up in the dirt. It’s hard to put that mentality to rest, and the genuine care and love he has for you terrifies him to no end. The yearning in his chest overwhelms him and he can’t help but want to flee it. He has to take a step back from indulging in carefree days spent in your arms to remind himself that if he dwells too much in the feeling he’d eventually be consumed by it and there’d be no escape then.

It goes on like this for a while, and to his surprise, you don’t get mad or question his behavior, you seem to understand that he needs space and it puzzles him. You should be gone by now, why do you stick around? Surely you don't care this much, do you? You with your warm embrace and your concern for him when he shows up slightly more bloody than when he left. You with your soft-spoken praises and calming presence.

At the end of the day, he can’t deny the way he has to stop the rumble from escaping his throat at the mere sight of you.

When he brings the question of “why you hang around a guy like him, anyway?” to you one night as his head rests on your lap, you chuckle lightly before reaching down to pet his head with a gentleness that makes him want to weep. You tell him that you wait for him to come home (home, when was the last time he had one of those?) because you love him and his company, nothing more. You look at him like he was your world and it makes him stop and think for a while. He remains silent, choosing to bury his head in your stomach instead of trying to voice whatever jumbled mess was in his head. The action is more than enough for you to understand as it makes you huff out a laugh that reverberates in his chest.

At that moment he thinks, that if he is to be swallowed whole by the ocean of feelings that was brought upon him, he’s glad it is your waves he drowns in,

and for the first time in forever, the water is calm.

Could you do a request with mk, redson, sun Wukong and macaque where the readers family doesn't support them. Maybe in monkey kings and macaque case the reader family saw what the monkeys did in the past and don't trust them and like that?

Your family is VERY disapproving of the most destructive 'hero' beside monkey king that they've ever met/heard of

Makes him being the Monkey Kid all that more ironic in the worst ways for them

You're an adult though so it's not like they can control who you date like they could/would when you were still a minor

You both of course still continued to date but it did still sting to know your parents didn't approve of MK.

He was a wonderful guy! He made you laugh, he was really caring and made sure you were safe and okay. And he can surprisingly cook!

So you thought maybe you needed to have them figure that he's as great as you see him

Not doing a dinner because that's a one shot kill with any sort of chance-- it will so quickly become awkward especially given MK's nature

He's not really a traditional guy

You talked to MK about it and suggested taking it one step at a time, not like you wanted to rush this anyways. You wanted your parents to like him!

Doing it one at a time with your parents and doing it in small doses did something. They didn't shoot a killing glare at him anymore at least

They still didn't approve of it, but at this point in your relationship, you weren't going to relent from being with MK, so they threw in the towel. Plus, he’s beaming sunshine, it’s hard to hate him

They warm up to him when they stop trying to cherry pick, but it's still VERY gradual

In the meantime, he stays very respectful and tries to tone down on his usual choatic behaviour, taking in the fact of just how important it is to you that they like him/get along with him

He takes note of what they like and don't like, and given his artistic abilities, tries to make something for them as gifts!

Eventually he's treated like a part of the family, even if it took a while

This is more granted because it is literally a demon, nevertheless the son of THE Demon Bull King. I doubt anyone who remembers about the legends and then what happened to the city like. Twice by his hand wouldn't be standoffish

So when your parents catch wind about your going ons with Redson, they're,,,,

Less than excited to say the least

They try to keep you away from him, thinking that there has to be some double meaning to why he would want to date you, what it might be was up in the air

When Redson found out about that though, he was quite irritated

Though giving it some thought (and some calming down from you) he thought it made sense from a protective parental figure's POV

It still didn't feel good to be deprived of his lover more often than he would like, even with their reasons

It's harder to get into their good graces compared to MK, given he's terrorized the city more than once and made his face known for it

Sure MK is,,, MK but at least he's doing it to save everyone and stop the threats to the city, albeit very recklessly

Redson has been mostly known to be the cause of that in the first place

So with your help (which is mainly to keep him from burning anything) you decide to speak over dinner

It's awkward at first, especially since your parents are not quite hesitant to throw shade at him, but his way with word and bit of charm does get the ball rolling in the right direction

The dinner ends off with a nice note, despite the rocky start

It helps ease them up enough to Redson to be able to tolerate seeing him with you

But they are still cautious

Knowing how prone he is to his literal flaming outbursts

You can come to an understanding about it, given how infamous he made himself out to be

But you try to assure them to the best of your ability that all is fine and you are fine

He treats you pretty well, and is very sweet. A traditional sweetheart given his long period of living which tugs at the right heartstrings

Like MK, they come to terms with the demon, given just how much you cherish him and him to you

Which, gives you the first glimpse at a relatively publicly giddy Redson

Sun Wukong (Monkey King)

I mean like

Sun Wukong is known for being really fucking unhinged

Even when he isn't being unhinged

So when your parents catch wind, they are LIVID

He's disgraced everything in his path at least once when he was younger, so it's only natural that even if he's 'wiser' your parents are far from buying it

I mean he's Sun Wukong

He picked a fight with Buddha frame 1

Who knows what he might do

Unlike MK and Redson, Sun Wukong isn't as inclined to try and get in their good graces

Sure he'd do things relatively traditional, but he's more loose about it than the former two

He also would suggest to let your parents come around naturally instead of intervening, thinking that his image is as tainted as it could possibly get

”Besides, I am THE Monkey King, they’re bound to come around!”

It reassures you a little, which WAS the main goal anyways

He brushes it off and makes jokes about it like he does everything else, so you consider his advice

Though, you aren't completely opposed to nudging your parents in the direction you want, just enough to not make it so obvious

You want your parents to be involved with your life to at least some degree, so having them at least tolerate your relationship would ease you a good deal

It takes some time, given nothing being direct and Sun Wukong being... Sun Wukong, but you manage

You do get your parents to tolerate it the relationship, but years of detestment and vitriol isn't that easy to get past

You know what battles to fight, so you throw in the towel in terms of your involvement. You got at least one milestone out of the way so that's all that matters in the long run

Unlike the other two, Sun Wukong and your parents' relationship is on a bittersweet note, more bitter than sweet.

Sun Wukong respects your wants, but being rational foronce he insists to let things run their course

Especially when, between him and Macaque, he’s the more respectful simian

"Besides, we have plenty of years ahead of us! We'll take it one step at a time."

So it's understandable that your parents feel the way they do about Macaque

He's not hung up about it either

If anything, it doesn’t bother him at all!

Though, with this being Macaque, that worries you more than it reassures you

He would be a self admitted asshole and wear it with pride even, so some comments from some less than influential people (to him at least) would be nothing more than dust off his back

He technically didn’t live as long as Sun Wukong and was in a form of hiding soon after revival, so his track record isn’t as disastrously long as Sun Wukong’s to hold over his head and remind you of

Still bad though

And, Macaque having that beloved sass of his, makes his lack of care known, whether or not your parents are nearby at first

He slipped up once about how “Your parents have a stick so far up their ass you’d think it was Wukong’s staff.”

Ok that at least got a chuckle from you

But, you still scolded him, telling to at the very least tone it down when they’re around, especially when you’re also around

He agrees to the terms, although reluctantly with much hesitation at first on the brink of refusal

But you ARE the least toxic thing/the person who cares about him the most in years, and with walls being broken and in no mood or state to build them back up, he’ll at least TRY for your sake to keep you around

It’s an effort you really care about, so he’ll so some care for the sake of you than anything else

Though, despite all of this, the relationship between your parents and Macaque would probably be on the worst note out of the four.

He’s soured by the sands of time and you had to pry his heart open with a crowbar. So he’s not going to be kind or complacent. At least so easily if at all, and that comes in degrees

And how he sees it, if your parents don’t plan to extend the olive branch, why reach for something that ain’t there

You feel bad about it, and Macaque reassures you best he can, but now you know, firmly, there’s no way Macaque and your parents would ever be in an actually positive relationship

I need more fics that explore Mac's love for theatre and the reader helping him come up with stories or little songs for his plays would be the cutest thing!

Macaque x Reader

You knew he could hear how hard your heart was beating, so you were grateful he had the decency not to be smug about it. As you unlocked the door to the backstage with a slightly trembling hand, you hoped once more that all of your hard work would pay off, and that Macaque would approve of your efforts. Of course he'd be grateful for the help regardless, but you really wanted him to like what you'd made. Now was the moment of truth.

"Like I said..." you began as you opened the door, flicking on the lights to reveal the storage space you'd been using as a workstation. Painted set pieces and backgrounds leaned against every available wall, the products of countless hours spent painting to the very best of your ability. "I tried my best to make them just like you described. What do you think?"

Macaque looked about the multitude of landscapes that he'd described for you to paint, tail waving thoughtfully as he took a sweet second to let you stew. When his eyes landed on you and he saw how your heart was very obviously about to explode from anticipation, he smiled, smug but sincere in the way only he knew how.

"Solid work, just as I expected from my favorite assistant." he praised, allowing you to release a breath you didn't realize you'd been holding. Chuckling at your reaction, he moved to more closely inspect your work, his delighted demeanor making it clear he was genuinely thrilled with the results. Your heart went from sinking to fluttering like a butterfly through your ribs. "You did great! It looks like you actually listened to everything I-"

When he came to the largest piece of them all, a mountainscape that had taken you countless hours to get right, he paused completely. Something shifted in his eyes. Concern rose up inside you, even if his reaction didn't appear to be with the quality of the painting itself.

""Macaque?" you pressed gently, stepping closer as he hovered a hand over the soft colors dappling the trees on the mountain's side. It almost looked like he was seeing through the painting, as if it were a memory and not just a prop in a show. You took a step closer to lay a hand on his shoulder. "Is something wrong?"

"No!" he insisted quickly, the loudness of his voice scaring him more than you. Blushing and dropping his gaze at having been caught, he coughed and look back up after regaining himself.

"Not at all! This is just..." he trailed off again, tracing the edges of the mountain as if he'd done so a hundred times before. "Very accurate. Like you were there."

You understood, and went quiet, amazed that you had apparently recreated a memory just from his instructions. When he'd described this set to you it had indeed been with a sense of nostalgia, but you had been too focused on perfecting every detail to really notice. It brought warmth to your fluttering heart to see him so openly touched by your efforts. Standing beside him, you smiled and nudged him playfully.

"It was described to me by a great storyteller."

Macaque blushed again, though this time he tried to play it off, rubbing the back of his neck with a cough. "Yeah! Well uh, you know, a great story is nothing without an audience... or something."
