✨ Another read for a literature class and I liked this one even if the ending was too open for me as I like books to tell me what the ending is and not leaving it open for interpretation.  ✨ I liked how the characters were challenged to grow but I do have to admit that my own viewpoints and opinions sometimes made it hard to remember that the book is set in the 90s and a lot has changed since then.

Definitely recommend for anybody in a reading slump who needs that little pick-me-up book to get them back in the habit. I haven’t watched the series yet. Mia and Pearl/ The Ryans Surrogacy

I see a lot of posts about this and the confusion around whether or not Pearl is Mia’s or not. So, let’s clear it up.

Mia is biologically Pearl’s mother.

That’s it.

Let’s remember something when Joe Ryan approaches Mia it’s because she looks like his wife. Because while it’s not mentioned why, his wife is not capable of biologically having a kid.

But he specifically picked Mia because he thought she looked like his wife.

Meaning they wanted to pass off the kid as theirs and cut Mia off from the equation as soon as the kid was born, of course they paid her $12,000 to do so.

Now not here to debate Mia’s right to take off with Pearl. But I do think that the fact Mia is Pearl’s biological daughter should play into the argument.
