ABACUSYNTH by ELIAS JARZOMBEK [2022]
Abacusynth is a synthesizer inspired by an abacus, the ancient counting tool used all around the world. Just like an abacus is used to learn the fundamentals of math, the Abacusynth can be used to explore the building blocks of audio synthesis.

It is in my rules that I don't do boards for real people, musicians included, but an album cover I can certainly do. Here you go, I hope this is good!

Dreams and Nightmares

Do you suppose it's Abby's dream to be held by a big squeaky Nightmare, or is it Nightmare Moon that dreams of her Abacus?
A lovely picture by @goattrain

Ancient tools and methods can still play a significant role in modern education and the development of cognitive skills, and the results are astounding.

Zaggot & Abacus re-imagine as kids.
Zaggot and Abacus were born as equals, but as time passed, the balance between them shifted. When Abacus became stronger, Zaggot became weaker and vice versa.

I want something like an abacus but vertical, with the top end open so I can add or remove rings when I want. Maybe 10 vertical dowels, labelled at the bottom with all the different hobbies and goals I want to make time for. Each time I invest a bit of time and energy into one, I drop a ring onto the dowel. I end up with a visual representation of how I’ve spread my time, and how quickly (or not) I’m making progress on each item.
Now, if something like this exists, I’d be real grateful for a pointer in the right direction 😂

I made teeny tiny abacus cufflinks. it is a working abacus in that all the beads move, but not working for me in that I realize I never learned how to actually use an abacus.

Why you should vote for them:
Abacus
He's Lloyd's best chum. :) He's a talented musician, a best selling comic artist and the best friend a bug could ask for!
Cloth
Cloth is a cicada and she is the best because she's DOING her best!! Having ventured into the ruins of Hallownest to prove her courage as a warrior, she mostly spends her time hiding from danger rather than facing it -- but don't we all struggle sometimes? Plus, she eventually defeats her fear to help the player character defeat a mighty foe. She's one of the few bugs you meet in Hallownest who aren't trying to kill you. She's a sweetheart and everyone should vote for her to boost her confidence
