𝘉𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘨𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘰𝘯 4: 𝘙𝘰𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘔𝘳 𝘉𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘨𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘰𝘯 - 𝘑𝘶𝘭𝘪𝘢 𝘘𝘶𝘪𝘯𝘯 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🟣 Who else cannot wait for Season 3 as we now have a synopsis of what will happen? I am excited, even though the storyline of the show sounds different than the one in the books. However, there are key scenes that just have to be in the show. Let‘s just say: asking, mirror and carriage 😜
Are there scenes from the book you just want to see?

Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake - Spoiler Free Review
My initial reaction is that this book was pretty good! My wonderful sister recommended it to me YEARS ago (sorry dear sister). I finally read it and it was a great experience!
Katherine is cool as FUCK, my favorite character by far. Everyone else was boring for me, at least until the very end.
There were lots of pacing problems, but I enjoyed the writing style and the premise. I think this is really more of a prequel, so I’ll try out the next book!
Overall, a solid 4/5 stars. Except for Katherine, who is a 6/5 stars.

I’m rather proud I read a whole 80 books in 2022 - ten more than my goal! I’d never be able to read that many if my job weren’t essentially data entry and I didn’t love audiobooks so much (if you haven’t gotten the Libby app yet, do it! It’s free)! Pictured first are the favorites from this year I’ve gotten copies of, but my full list of favorites are as follows: Women Talking - Miranda Toews Elsewhere - Alexis Schiatkin All the Women in My Brain - Betty Gilpin Intimations - Zadie Smith Ghost Wall - Sarah Moss Beyond the Gender Binary - Alok V. Menon Nothing Personal - James Baldwin No One Is Talking About This - Patricia Lockwood Passing - Nella Larsen The Prophets - Robert Jones Jr. You Exist Too Much - Zaina Arafat Fierce Femmes and Notorious Liars - Kai Cheng Thom The Friend- Sigrid Nunez Yerba Buena - Nina LaCour Nevada - Imogen Binnie Consumed - Aja Barber Salt Houses - Hala Alyan Sirens & Muses - Antonia Angress Braiding Sweetgrass - Robin Wall Kimmerer The Rabbit Hutch - Tess Gunty The 90s - Chuck Klosterman Shmutz - Felicia Berliner I read so many books I loved this year I can’t imagine narrowing it down to a top 10. Goodreads Challenge Part 6 :)
Goodreads Challenge Part 6 :)
My goal for 2022 was to read 24 books this year which correlates to 2 books a month however I then changed that goal to 30 and then 35 which I have also already reached so now I’m going to go for 40 books by the end of the year which I think is definitely achievable 🙂 I have definitely been reading more since joining TikTok because I keep seeing books on Booktok that I want to read! You and Me…

📚 🅱🅻🅾🅶 🆃🅾🆄🆁 🆁🅴🆅🅸🅴🆆 📚 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗚𝗜𝗥𝗟 𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢 (A Jensen Thriller book two) by Heidi Amsinck ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Today I'm thrilled to close up the blog tour of The Girl In The Photo by sharing my thoughts. Thanks to Anne at Random Things Tours for my spot on the tour and for my copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. 𝗠𝗬 𝗥𝗘𝗩𝗜𝗘𝗪 I had been looking forward to reading this book as the synopsis looked brilliant. What I found was a great example of Scandinavian Noir which held my attention from start to finish. This is book two and while I always like to read a series in order, I didn’t feel I had missed out on anything that could affect this book with TBR exception of backstory. The story held a good pace throughout, which then picked up at the same rate as the tension as it wound its way to the inevitable conclusion. I say inevitable, I didn’t have it all worked out prior to the reveal. The author’s writing style and descriptions of the environment made it easier to picture each scene. Anyone who reads my reviews knows that I love this! The characters are rich and beautifully developed, and while already established in book one, they were a pleasure to get to know here. Jensen is driven, and not afraid to step on the toes of DI Henrick Jungerson, with whom she’s shares some personal history. They can make a formidable team if they’re put their minds together. Overall, this was a pleasure to read, and is another example of a book inspiring me to visit another party of the world in my campervan. I recommend this book to any readers of Scandinavian Noir, or even just a great crime thriller, with the caveat to read them in order for much better context and character development. I gave The Girl In The Photo, by Heidi Amsinck, five stars, and look forward to reading more about Jensen and Henrik. #ad #gifted #THEGIRLINTHEPHOTO #heidiamsinck #muswellpress #RandomThingsTours #nordicnoir #scandinaviannoir #bookstagrammers #johnsbookshelf #bookstabloggers #bookreader #blogtour #bookstagram #bibliophile #bookaddict #bookblog #johnsbookshelfblogs #bookaholic # #goodreadschallenge2022 (at Southampton, England, U.K.) https://www.instagram.com/p/ChK953MrMj3/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Finally sharing with you my Goodreads Reading Challenge for 2022.
So far, so good. I've read 32 books since January. And according to Goodreads, I'm 8 books ahead of schedule. YAY! 🥳️ I'm over the moon cos this is an achievement for me. I've been on a reading slump for 13 years! (Since I became a mom, actually.) Can you believe it? So back in January, I said to myself, this is the year of change and self-love. My goal is to finish at least 1 book per week. I think I deserve some rosé later. 🥂🍾
Stay tuned for book reviews and recommendations. 😊
Let's be book buddies! www.goodreads.com/kayemac

𝘓𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘍𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘴 𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 - 𝘊𝘦𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘦 𝘕𝘨 ⭐⭐⭐⭐
✨ Another read for a literature class and I liked this one even if the ending was too open for me as I like books to tell me what the ending is and not leaving it open for interpretation.

✨ I liked how the characters were challenged to grow but I do have to admit that my own viewpoints and opinions sometimes made it hard to remember that the book is set in the 90s and a lot has changed since then.
📚Goodreads-Synopsis:
In Shaker Heights, a placid, progressive suburb of Cleveland, everything is planned—from the layout of the winding roads, to the colors of the houses, to the successful lives its residents will go on to lead. And no one embodies this spirit more than Elena Richardson, whose guiding principle is playing by the rules.
Enter Mia Warren—an enigmatic artist and single mother—who arrives in this idyllic bubble with her teenaged daughter Pearl, and rents a house from the Richardsons. Soon Mia and Pearl become more than tenants: all four Richardson children are drawn to the mother-daughter pair. But Mia carries with her a mysterious past and a disregard for the status quo that threatens to upend this carefully ordered community.
When old family friends of the Richardsons attempt to adopt a Chinese-American baby, a custody battle erupts that dramatically divides the town—and puts Mia and Elena on opposing sides. Suspicious of Mia and her motives, Elena is determined to uncover the secrets in Mia’s past. But her obsession will come at unexpected and devastating costs.
Little Fires Everywhere explores the weight of secrets, the nature of art and identity, and the ferocious pull of motherhood—and the danger of believing that following the rules can avert disaster. 📚

Crescent City: House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas - Spoiler Free Review!
This book felt like listening to an old friend tell you about their adventures.
Holy shit. I’m speechless. I didn’t know a book could feel this good.
It was a bit to get through the beginning, but once shit hit the fan, it never stopped. Everything just shattered all at once, with the wonderful characters to pick up the pieces. I became concerned about the trajectory of the story at the last 150 pages, but I trusted Maas to not fuck up the ending, and she didn’t. The ending was wonderful, even if the lead up was shocking to get there.
This book isn’t for everyone, there might be some common tropes, obvious progression, random plot twists, etc. but this book is everything I could want in a story.
I’m so glad I bought this book, so glad the internet recommended it to me, and so glad it took me on this journey.
5/5 - by far my favorite book of the year, perhaps of all time.

Reposting coz I didn’t take good video and I did miss the last part! 😹 Posted @withrepost • @bukuruby Attended Malam Pusaka @senipusaka featuring Manora from Kelantan and Reog from Johor. Semestinya excellent lagi amazing. I got goosebumps all over, almost trance ya. Menora’s energy was so feminine and gentle. Literally, I could not look away from the dancers. Then, Reog came in and shocked the hall with its masculine energy. When the dancer put on that massive mask, we all gasped! I think I shouted ‘What the hell?!’ too loudly, a few others stared at me. . So glad to meet @dinaszaman and @shengdogcattraveleatpraylove there who made sure that we got good seats! . Watching the shows, I wondered about how important it is to give in and lose control. Lose control dari segi devoting oneself to one’s purpose. Tak semua benda akan jadi sempurna. But one must be focused and a bit mad. Gitulah kita pun inspired. . #traditionarts #folkart #traditionaldance #menora #kelantan #johor #reog #senitradisional #tari #jawa #siamn#malaysiamembaca #malaysianbibliophile #bookreviews #malaysianreads #bookaddict #bibliophile #reading #readership #igreads #igreaders #goodreadschallenge2022 #bookstagrammers #heritage #history (at REXKL) https://www.instagram.com/p/CiopggOJpJa/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
