OT4 + HOTD AU? Who's team green and who's team black? What house are they in? Are they active in the dance or keep a safe distance? How would they personalities change? 👀
the ot4: house of the dragon au
this kind of spiraled out of control and would obviously need a shitton of work to smooth everything out but here's what i (and annie) put together quickly. a lot is inspired by the book and show but a lot had to be changed around to make this work. also the hp canon titles and social statuses are waaay different in this one.
“then the storm broke, and the dragons danced.”
Tumblr media
when king aegar I targaryen names his second son his heir instead of his eldest, the seeds of civil war are sown. aegar's choice is heavily influenced by a prophecy passed down in his family since the days of old valyria, and all signs point to his younger son being the prince that was promised. or so aegar believes...
Tumblr media
prince elyan grew up as the prince of dragonstone, destined to one day rule over westeros. but his father deemed him too rash, too unpredictable to ever sit the iron throne, so he named elyan's little brother theodric as his heir on his sixteenth nameday. theo has no taste for ruling but he wanted to make his father happy so he obliged. when king aegar dies only a few short months later, the realm is torn asunder. many lords and ladies still deem elyan the rightful heir, while some, such as the hightowers, lannisters, and baratheons support theodric's claim (maybe because they respect aegar, maybe because they think theo will be easier to control than his brother...)
elyan is a formidable warrior and commands the loyalty of many, especially men of the city watch in king's landing, whom he personally oversaw for a time. he's charismatic and politically savvy but also vicious and cruel, often jumping headfirst into danger. theo, on the other hand, is studious and prefers to keep to himself. his father believes him to be the one of whom the prophecy spoke of and it could be argued that he has a calmer demeanor than his brother, but in truth, theodric can be just as fearsome and unpredictable.
Tumblr media
henry hightower grew up in king's landing, where his father thomas served as the hand of the king for both king elyris I targaryen, and king aegar I targaryen. he's not a renowned warrior and prefers books to swords. he loves riding though, and is an exceptional horseman. when war erupts, henry ends up on the opposing side to elyan, with whom he has been in love with for years. he has to choose between duty and love as he finds himself increasingly friendless in the city he once called home.
Tumblr media
malcolm stark is the new lord of winterfell after the sudden death of his father. though he is young, he's determined to look after his people as winter approaches. in the middle of preparations, king aegar dies and war starts brewing in the south. malcolm's father alexander once swore an oath of loyalty to king aegar and his then-heir, prince elyan but now the succession has been changed. malcolm must decide whether to march his men south to defend prince elyan's rightful claim or to stay in the north and face the oncoming winter.
Tumblr media
lady primrose baratheon is the only surviving child of lord vincent gray and lady victoria baratheon. she stands to inherit her mother's claim to storm's end but lady victoria's claim was contested on many fronts already, and she only held onto it because she was already married and with child at the time of her brother's death. the lords of the stormlands were hoping she would have a son and put such foolish things as women inheriting storm's end to rest. when, despite years of effort, primrose remained the only living child of her parents, tensions in the stormlands started to brew again. prim's position is precarious and now she has a war to navigate. house baratheon is sworn to defend king theodric but elyan is one of primrose's oldest friends. when her mother dies a few weeks into the war, primrose technically has the power to shift her house's allegiance, but can she convince her lords to follow her lead?
"we are as the gods made us. strong and weak, good and bad, cruel and kind, heroic and selfish. know that if you would rule over the kingdom of men."
elyan, theo, henry, and prim all spent a considerable amount of time together in king's landing
there would definitely be pressure from the councils of both sides to put the other to sword so the war doesn't rear its head again but do the brothers actually want to kill each other?
elyan and henry are gay and in love and take romantic flights on dragonback over the crownlands until the war tears them apart :( the whole affair was doomed from the start but now it's EXTRA doomed
eventually malcolm and prim join the war and meet and fall in love BUT there's a huge issue because primrose has to marry some suitable minor lord from the stormlands (who preferrably has older brothers so he doesn't have the pressure of carrying on the family name) and not the frigging lord of winterfell, warden of the north!!! her liege lords don't want some stark bossing them around. if the two manage to make it work and get married then who's gonna inherit storm's end? who's gonna inherit winterfell? we just won't know...
estelle is The Stark At Winterfell while mal is off to war
lots more dragons would be involved than what is mentioned here. theo has a dragon called scrambles called something metal like bloodfyre i'm sure
the other houses like the velaryons and the lannisters would also be involved heavily but i decided to not go as far as to start assigning other characters or i'd never be able to get this out lol
although the slytherins might be velaryons in this, so kerina is a velaryon, and the current lord of driftmark is either kerina's dad or brother
i have no idea who would eventually win although the odds are stacked against theo pretty hard at the minute, poor guy...
feel free to offer your thoughts!🐉⚔
this isn't like a simple elian = rhaenyra (obvs he's more like daemon anyway), theo = aegon II, henry = alicent etc thing. while some characters do fill the roles of actual characters from hotd, it isn't exactly a working comparison. that being said, i love the ottohightowerification of thomas of alderly.

Do you have any nicknames? Not stereotypical ones like “honey, sweetie”, but ones that maybe a character won’t like at first but grows to love??
Charcter Nickname Ideas
Hmmm this is actually a tricky one to answer.
Each character will have their own set of cultural backgrounds, quirks, strengths, weaknesses and relationship dynamics, which can all contribute to a nickname.
Here are some common things writers do for nicknames:
Shorten their given name. Mireya becomes Rey. Christopher becomes Chris.
Alter their given name. If you add a “y” sound, it implies the person using the nickname thinks of the character as young or childlike. So Alexa becomes Lexie. William becomes Billy.
Base their nickname on a physical trait. This can be straightforward or ironic. The large man is Tiny. The pretty girl named Honor is Bell/Beauty.
Pick a personality trait. School kids might call your main character Sassy Cassy. The con man might be called Prince Charming because of his smooth-talking skills.
Base their nickname on their profession or an accomplishment. So many characters are called Doc, Prof, or Chairman.
Base it on Monsters: ie. Balrog, Loch, Golen, Orthros, Baal, etc.
Base it on Mythology. Lots of authors have used names from Greek/Roman mythology, and readers have loved it!
Here are two personal examples:
Use initials. My name is Junhui Lee, and those who aren't familar with Asian names struggle to pronoun it correctly. So I just go by "JH"
In Korean culture, (1) people's names are usually three chracters: ie. Jun+hui+Lee and (2) We put surnames in front, not at the back of our names: ie. Lee Junhui, not Junhui Lee. Close friends would address each other as "surname + first character of the given name". So my friends would call me Lee Jun.
A character not liking their nickname
Doesn't necessary mean it has to be a funny nickname. They can dislike it because they somehow feel like only their parents/siblings call them that, or they feel childish, or the tone in which the other person says it is too teasing.
Depends on the origin and meaning behind the nickname. Was it made up by bullies in primary school and its just happened to stick? Was it given to them by their late grandparents? The anme
That said, here are some examples!
Vivienne: Vivvy, Vienne, Viv, Vee
Niamh: Nia, Neeve, Iya
Athena: Ath, Thea
Hazel: Haze, Zelly, Elle
Bloom: Bee, Bloomy, Blommer, Bloo
Coral: Cora, Coralie, Cori, Coral-B
Alaric: Larry, Lars
Ulysses: Ollie, Ulie
Adin: Ade, Ad, Bin, Dinny
Nicolas: Nick, Nico, Nicky
Daniel: Dan, Danny, Dannyboy, Niel
Adreil: Ad, Adri, Riel, El
Louisa: Lulu
+ this list because I've been trying to come up with nicknames for my bloothirsty character...
Steelshot
Crank
Rigs
Skinner
Skull Crusher
Wardon
Zero
Ironclad
Iron Heart
Billy the Butcher
Mr. Blonde
K-6
Hell-Raiser
Harbinger
Finisher
I hope this helps :)

Begging you, please, tell us more of your downton abbey thoughts. I want to hear about psychological horror abbey
Some VERY disjointed thoughts on psychological horror abbey:
- the plot of the story would very roughly be around downton as a classic Gothic Mansion, with all the suffocating psuedo-incestous family/work life that these stories entail
- Mary is the upper class aspect, Anna is the working class, and Tom is the person moving between the two worlds, acting mostly as a lower class man but able to force himself to act "civilized" when then family demands it
- All three of them are trapped in their positions; Mary as the eldest daughter can't leave the family or eschew marriage in any meaningful way, Anna obviously can't leave her class position as a servant and is considered "part of the family" by the crawlys and so can't leave them. Tom has a bit more freedom than them, as a man, but as an Irish national and a socialist he's severely limited by how much he's able to challenge the family's desires to keep him in the house with sybbie
- also as is typical in a gothic-adjacent horror: someone becoming "part of the family" (as happens to some of the servants, tom, etc) is less of an acceptance and much more of a smothering and a removal of what makes the person an individual
- In the new story I think it'd work best if all of the [borderline] sexual violence (mary & pamuk, anna & green, tom & edna, along with daisy & william (more on this below)) were narratively earlier-- maybe the new show starts in s4 and the mary&pamuk/daisy&william situations are flashbacks/implied?
- The Mary/Matthew romance is less of a "real" romance and more of a coerced marriage, drawn up between Matthew and Cora to keep the secret of Pamuk's rape of Mary/death within the family
- [john] bates' desire for revenge becomes less "noble man defending his wife" and more "completely average and normal man taking a violation of his wife's autonomy as a violation of his marriage and his exclusive right to her body." (Sidenote: I think this is what the show is actually doing and not noticing it. lol.)
- I honestly can't believe I left daisy out of the original post. I don't think she's exactly a victim of sexual violence, but I do think that being coerced into dating and then marrying william while he's on his deathbed must have done fascinating things to her mind. (I also think this aspect of her life is handled much better by the show as it is than Anna/Mary/Tom's subplots, but whatever.)
- I think in this au either a) William survives, and Daisy is forced into a loveless marriage and motherhood with him, technically able to divorce him but discouraged from doing so on all sides because "it would break his heart," or b) William dies, and Daisy is [either literally or psychologically] haunted by him for the rest of the show, convinced that she's damned to hell for lying to a man on his deathbed
- one thing that's present in the current show that I think could very quickly become horror is the relative isolation of the abbey. the whole crawly family runs the town but outside of the hospital scenes in the early eps and some fair scenes, we see incredibly little of the townspeople that the family rules over.
- I can picture the townsfolk fervently avoiding any discussion/news of the abbey, preferring to keep to themselves, which is noble when they're being lorded over by robert but not when Anna comes into town the day after her rape and none of the townsfolk will meet her eye
- I have very little idea of how the story would really end, but I WILL say I'm only like 50% joking with the posts about daisy burning down the house with everyone in it

Title: The Essex Serpent
Author: Sarah Perry
Genre/s: historical
Content/Trigger Warnings: emotional and physical abuse, implied death by drowning, implied death in childbirth, implied sexual harassment
Summary (from author's website): London, 1893. When Cora Seaborne's controlling husband dies, she steps into her new life as a widow with as much relief as sadness. Along with her son Francis - a curious, obsessive boy - she leaves town for Essex, in the hope that fresh air and open space will provide refuge.
On arrival, rumours reach them that the mythical Essex Serpent, once said to roam the marshes claiming lives, has returned to the coastal parish of Aldwinter. Cora, a keen amateur naturalist with no patience for superstition, is enthralled, convinced that what the local people think is a magical beast may be a yet-undiscovered species. As she sets out on its trail, she is introduced to William Ransome, Aldwinter's vicar, who is also deeply suspicious of the rumours, but thinks they are a distraction from true faith.
As he tries to calm his parishioners, Will and Cora strike up an intense relationship, and although they agree on absolutely nothing, they find themselves at once drawn together and torn apart, affecting each other in ways that surprise them both.
The Essex Serpent is a celebration of love, and the many different shapes it can take.

Spoiler-Free Review: On the surface, this book is a beautifully deep and detailed historical novel, with all the right period details. It’s also a bit of a mystery/horror novel, with all those tiny nods to the (historical) legend of the Essex Serpent and the touches of folk horror in how the people of Aldwinter talk about it and deal with it.
But at its core, it's all about the characters, who are all quite complex and layered in their portrayals. None of them fits into any sort of stereotype one might find of them in Victorian novels: Cora isn’t necessarily the typical widow (merry or otherwise), William isn’t the typical parson, Martha isn’t the typical lady’s companion, etc. Each character has an idea of what the other characters are like before meeting them, then another idea of what they’re like after meeting them. That idea changes throughout the course of the novel as the plot plays out - a plot that is largely driven by the way the characters interact with each other. There’s a kind of ripple effect: one character takes some kind of action (or doesn’t), and the effects of their action or inaction affects the other characters, to a greater or lesser degree. This is what makes the characters - and the novel - enjoyable to read.
This dynamic is clearest with Cora and William. Initially they have some negative ideas about what the other is like, but when they finally meet each other in person those ideas change, and become more positive. But as the novel goes on, it becomes clear that though they get along and agree on a lot of things, there’s also plenty of things they DON’T agree on - but that just makes them more interesting to each other, more enjoyable to be around. This creates an interesting push-and-pull between them, that ripples out onto the other characters. Those characters, in turn, react to that dynamic, and their reactions spark similar reactions in other characters, including Cora and William.
Of course, none of these dynamics would be interesting if the characters themselves weren’t interesting on their own. As I mentioned earlier, none of the characters are stereotypes, but some are, I think, a bit more interesting than others - largely because of how they shine a light on aspects of British Victorian history that might not always be made obvious in other media based on the time period. The most obvious example here is Martha: her socialist politics provide a refreshing contrast to the politics of the other characters, but her sapphic-coded relationship with Cora, and her more complicated, politically-slanted relationship with Spencer, also add angles and layers to her that are not always visible in media and literature about the Victorian period.
But where does this leave the Essex Serpent itself, and its story? While it’s still a presence in the novel, and is the reason why all the characters come together in the first place, it’s really more of a symbol than any kind of actual threat. In that sense it can be viewed in many different ways, but the one I lean more towards is that it is a symbol of making assumptions, and disillusionment: two things all the characters undergo, for better and for worse.
So overall, while some readers might come to this novel expecting something in the horror or gothic vein (like I did, initially), they’ll quickly come to learn that this really is a story about the characters in it, and how they interact with and react to each other, than about any supposed monster lurking in the river. While this might be disappointing to some readers who were looking for a scarier read, others might find themselves unexpectedly delighted by the novel’s character-heavy focus and the author’s wonderful prose.
Rating: five blue stones

13 and 3 for the ask game, perhaps??
3. What tropes do you like writing about the most? (´▽`ʃƪ)
That's honestly a good question, now that I look over my works, both original and fic. I think the thing that crops up the most in both sections is legacy - legacy characters, roles and how we all deal with it and inherit it. I think it really comes from my own experience of being the first freeborn daughter of two different families who escaped Communist Romania prior to the revolution, and the struggles they had to get their freedom. It gives me a lot to think on family legacy in my case, both ancestral and more personal, as I have found myself associating with my mom's inheritance more than I could my dad's.
In the Eagle's Cross Eddsworld universe, Cora and her siblings in the titular series have different ways of reacting to and embracing their ancestors' adventurous, if admittedly outlandish, histories and personalities. In 'The Christmas Calamity,' Jaxx (one of the main characters) is first trying to outright refuse it, but eventually comes to fall in love with it on his own terms and terms he has to redefine. Cora herself in 'The Eagle's Cross' has still to unravel some (honestly very opaque) mysterious past with her ancestors and dragging in her little sister and her own best friend into it.
In my own original detective show, the main detective and her 'Watson' partner are chasing after her hero's own mysteries to solve and eventually have to come up and fight against his enemies; leading the way to find out that her hero's adventures, mysteries and stories entwine closely to her own history and potentially taking up the mantle he sacrificed to save her life.
With Maddox Darling and his adventures in the Galaxy Far Far Away, it's more subtle. The Peter Pan references and links are on purpose, but they're not direct or in-your-face (his surname, the pin he constantly wears from his sister, etc). That being said, while he does have Peter Pan tendencies, his role is more of a Wendy Darling situation, honestly. He'll grow up eventually, but it doesn't mean he'll forget his loves nor stop adventuring. His legacy is more about what he leaves behind on the galaxy's inhabitants circa the Imperial and Rebellion era, but also the kind of legacy they leave on him and how he'll eventually take it home. That's why I love doing RP with him, because he's literally quite a character to Throw Into Situations and I'm figuring out his canon as I go along.
13. Drop a playlist for a story! ♪♡♪
Speaking of Maddox, here's his (slightly old) origin story playlist! I'd crafted it when I was very early on in writing him and did it as part of a character challenge to develop him a little more, so I'll be explaining songs in chapters under the cut.

Hey there! (19enby) (gmt timezone) 🌿
I am hoping to find for those who would be interested in doing an active long term roleplay based on the games + show of the last of us/the last of us 2 where I'm looking to do double roleplay with this which will be canon character (cc) x oc roleplay or at the very least looking to do that for my side and open to doing ship roleplay if that's what you are looking for, hoping to do in the tlou2 setting from my side. For my side I'm looking for someone to play Abby Anderson or Ellie Williams, though mainly hoping to find those to write as Abby anderson against my oc, though for your side I'm open to doing most characters in tlou universe so whoever you want to play against I'm more than happy to play them.
Scenario wise, I'm open to doing canonverse/au/canonverse with aus scenarios. I have some canonverse ideas mainly for my side for my oc, Cora, and Abby. I'm happy with any suggestions or ideas you may have as well, I love sharing ideas and exploring different scenarios together for both or one side.
What I'm looking for roleplay partners wise :
18+ (18 or over)
Enjoy writing nsfw, along with okay with including mature subjects (can be discussed further)
Enjoy OOC, I would love to match with people who love ooc, such as visuals, edit sharing, headcanons, chatting, etc
Lit/Literate writers, above that style and writing in third person, along with being able to write between a minimum of 2 to 4 paragraphs
Use discord, roleplay there preferably
Active roleplayer and open communication
If you are interested in any way, please do interact with this post in any way and I'll get in contact with you as soon as I can!
like if you're interested and op will get back to you

WOW some of you guys have extremely different opinions than me on the “how would Downton Abbey characters in 1912-1913 react to/feel about meeting their future selves from 1928" thing
My thoughts:
People who would be disappointed and/or have strong negative feelings about where they ended up:
Mary
Thomas
Tom
Carson (pleased about the marriage. big upset about being replaced by Thomas, not working anymore, being replaced by Thomas, married women working, being replaced by Thomas... Hits him hard but also, literally everyone is surprised and upset about this.) (including Thomas!)
People who would be pleased and/or have strong positive feelings about where they ended up:
Daisy
Edith
Anna
Bates
Molesley
Gwen (doesn’t meet her future self)
People who would be confused and don’t really know what to feel but probably leaning toward “I don’t like the future”:
Cora (concerned that she’s working, deeply concerned about Mary and Sybil)
Robert (dislikes societal change, “”) (likes that he has two dogs around for the duration of this time wormhole event)
Isobel (happy she’s happy, deeply concerned about Matthew)
O’Brien (doesn’t meet her future self) (hears “served a Marchioness in India” and is happy; distressed more than she wants to admit at the thought of leaving service to Cora; concerned about the Thomas situation and how he is interacting with her)
Mary can also go here
People who aren’t really bothered:
Violet
Mrs Patmore
Mrs Bird (she just assumes she has a cool job somewhere else)
People who know something’s up and it’s a big elephant in the room:
Sybil
Matthew
William
People who neither mind nor have any concerns whatsoever about how Thomas is the butler now:
[null]
Your replies under the cut!
natt-theghost said: I think Daisy would be really proud of herself. She went from being pretty meek kid to a very self-possessed, competent, and well-read adult. Thomas would have a lot of Feelings (mostly bad) about still being at Downton/in service. Carson would be Upset that Thomas replaced him as butler. Molesley would be pleased, I think.
meryton-etc said: Tom would be like. Is there any way to change my life ??? Actually scratch that, old Tom would be too ashamed to meet his own eye. If Anna was a real person she would look at this obviously traumatised woman in a relationship with a weirdo and be like… Oh Jesus Christ. But she’s not so I imagine she’ll be fine with it. Sybil and Matthew eagerly asking where their future selves are could be horrifying or hilarious depending on how it’s played?
redrikki said: I think Bates and Anna would both be pleased. Daisy would be surprised/proud. Thomas would be…IDK he wanted to get out of service, so he’d be a bit disappointed, but he might be proud of being butler. He’d be jealous Thomas has a wholesome romantic relationship maybe and weirded out about being jealous of himself. He’d be messed up if he learned about all the interveening trauma
servuscallidus said: Assuming they wouldn’t know /everything/ of what’s going to happen, I think Mary, Edith and Thomas would be various degrees of pleased and hopeful. Same thing would go for Anna and Bates. Daisy would not be too happy at first (she’d come to love it though). Tom would really not take it well. Ms. Hughes would probably be very surprised. Molesly would react kind of like Daisy
effervescentyellow said: I hope Tom would be horrified, and I think Edith would feel so smug and proud
chambergambit said: I feel like Mary really came into herself over the course of the show. She started out as a young woman whose only purpose was to be married off and now she owns half the estate. Season 1 Mary would be pretty pleased with her post-film self.

tell me all ur fav and least fav downton characters bc u reblogged two of my posts which means i would die for u now
🥺this made me soft ok
First up: if a character is a lady’s maid? That means they are my favorite human in the world or I fucking despise them. Anna? Love of my life, has a heart of gold, such a badass, went through so much shit and deserved a lot better. Like from the beginning she’s a total mom friend and she keeps people in line while also caring for them and worrying about them? And she doesn’t give up (on anyone.) and seasons 4-6 did her DIRTY. (Glad she got to commit some treason in the movie) Baxter? Loveliest person on the planet, growth - she arrives and you think she’s nice but don’t know what she’s got in store and then proceeds to adopt Thomas as her little brother and show Molesley what he’s capable of and recover from an abusive relationship and put her past behind her (and also prove Bates’s innocence iirc) and believe in everyone? Both of them are absolute goddesses and hold the downstairs together in the later seasons. And then we flip to the opposite end of the spectrum and get O’Brien who’s so cruel and bitter? And we understand why (ye olde class system and then there’s also bits of internalized homophobia I sense) but she still doesn’t get a redemption arc for the worst thing she’s done (which wasn’t killing Cora’s baby!! I sound crazy, and that was, well, bad. Remorse is shown, etc etc, but the worst thing she did was corrupt Thomas, who arrived at Downton from a background of abuse, feeling completely alone and misunderstood and probably so glad to be away from home, and then making friends with the first person who’d offer him an alliance and they were thick as thieves for a bit but he learned from her that the only way to get on was to step on people and then, after using him for half her schemes, throws him under the bus with no thought to the fact that taking advantage of someone’s loneliness and then fucking outing him... has consequences????) and- yeah. And then it seems that the third time’s the charm thing applied to Cora with maids (as in Baxter was the first maid she had who was a decent person) because Edna is vile (taking advantage of Tom’s grief and guilt-tripping him for living his life, then manipulating her way back into Downton and fucking taking advantage of his vulnerability and raping him? No thank you.)... I have strong feelings... oh also Denker’s like smack in the middle of this scale lol
Other favs include: Sybil!!! My dear fellow INFP and Jo March/Beth March split, my wonderful pansexual feminist youngest sister who had no right dying like that- our lovely socialist Irish husband/older brother (he’s the older brother Mary’s the younger sister I don’t take constructive criticism) Tom, Gwen!!!! you go Gwen be a badass secretary date Lady Sybil come back to Downton having advanced in the world I’m so proud of you what is punctuation ummm Thomas!!! Redemption arcs!!! And I love how you flip between hating him and then wanting him to grow and be happy plus he’s just so well-acted? Oh- Mrs. Hughes (why have I gone this long without mentioning her?) is the literal spine and spleen of the estate and the show would be in shambles without her, I love her a whole fucking lot and she needs more credit. Mrs. Patmore’s kind of an icon too!! Love Daisy, her arc’s great (though again, William deserved better), I really liked Rose, she was a breath of fresh air, good old Dr. Clarkson, Cora’s cool (though so fucking gullible- still she’s great), Violet’s obviously iconic and I lovelovelove Isobel (also they’re married. no I don’t take constructive criticism) and she’s so wonderfully written and acted (especially in terms of dealing with grief and/or authority), Molesley’s cool, not super strong feelings on Mary and Edith, both are very compelling and well-written+acted characters (I like their arcs) but neither are the most likeable. No strong feelings on Robert (stuck up but I like him), Bates (he drinks his respecting women juice except when he doesn’t), Carson (he’s loyal and he’s sweet and... homophobic but he’s alright), Matthew (I liked him!! with Mary...and his opinions but mostly i’m just annoyed he died), etc, mostly positive? and p much none on the later suitors (I like Bertie and Henry okay)
Not many major characters I hate, though I really dislike Jimmy (fuckboy...), Vera Bates, whoever Mary’s stalkery fiance who wanted to bribe Anna to spy on her was called, Mr. Gr**n, Mr. Pamuk, Rose’s mom, and then I think that’s it?
HBU? tell me all your thoughts

DILF club for the ultimate ship meme?
Consider I got two DILF club requests for this meme, I’ll do The way I tend to be Universe for this one, since it’s the more canon universe. (More canon than OUAT anyway.)
Send in two (or more) names and I’ll fill all this out about the ship!
General:
Rate the Ship -   Awful | Ew | No pics pls | I’m not comfortable | Alright | I like it! | Got Pics? | Let’s do it! | Why is this not getting more attention?! | The OT3 to rule all other OT3s
How long will they last? For as long as they can stand one another I’d imagine.
How quickly did/will they fall in love? I think very slowly, it’s a slow descend into love for all of them. More one of those, we’ve been sleeping together, fucking each other, and spending time with each other for months now, and oh shit, I think I might love you both...
How was their first kiss? Passionate, heated, and in the middle of fucking each other to keep warm.
Wedding:
Who proposed? I like to think the three of them all had something planned on the same night and looped their prospective kids into their proposal, but didn’t clue the other kids or their partners in. And only when the kids talk to one another do they discover that all three of their dads are trying to propose to each other. So naturally, the kids band together and ‘ruin’ their fathers’ proposals but only because they have one giant one planned at lookout point where they get all three men together and reveal the jig. Naturally, all three of them accept.
Who is the best man/men? Derek is the best man, Melissa is their best ma’am.
Who are the groom’s maid(s)/men? Malia, Jackson, Allison, Isaac, Stiles, and Mike are the groom’s maids/men. Liam is the ring bearer. Cora is their flower girl. Jordan is holding the little ones.
Who did the most planning? Peter did, he choose all the fashion, the venue, paid for the wedding, got the caterer and the florist. (though Chris tried to pay for things as did Noah, but Peter wouldn’t have it. They bought the rings and Peter’s suit for him as ‘retaliation’.)
Who stressed the most? Noah is the most nervous. The last time he walked down the aisle was over 30 years ago. What if he forgets his lines? Is this the right call? Is he doing right by his sons? By his daughter? Did he forget his ring? Oh god, what if the others realize what a fuck up he is?
How fancy was the ceremony? - Back of a pickup truck | 2 | 3 | 4 | Normal Church Wedding | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | Kate and William wish they were this big. (They rented a place, invited closest friends and family but kept it on the down-low.)
Who was specifically not invited to the wedding? Kate, Gerard, Elias.
Sex:
Who is on top? They switch, all of them like to top and bottom and they’re not picky on who gets to be on top/bottom. Things just happen.
Who is the one to instigate things? Usually Peter, but Chris or Noah (especially when they team up) can be real degenerates as well.
How healthy is their sex life? - Barely touch themselves let alone each other | 2 | 3 | 4 | Once a couple weeks, nothing overboard | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | They are humping each other on the couch right now (They’re not shy about their sex life and very much enjoy each other’s bodies and closeness. It’s a great way for them to strengthen their relationship.)
How kinky are they? - Straight missionary with the lights off | 2 | 3 | 4 | Might try some butt stuff and toys | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | Don’t go into the sex dungeon without a horse’s head (They’re into toys, bondage, breeding kinks, biting/marking, dom/sub play, public sex, and some other milder kinks, nothing too crazy but also not too vanilla.)
How long do they normally last? Depends, if they’re fired up and excited they might not last long, 5-10 min, but if they go slow and steady they might also last for 20-30 min.
Do they make sure each person gets an equal amount of orgasms? They try to, usually, Chris has a few more than the other two, but that’s more due to Noah’s age (once he comes he can’t it up for a while. He may still be fit, but he’s not superhuman like Peter.) and Peter’s sensory overload after an orgasm. Chris is the only one of the three that can quickly come multiple times
How rough are they in bed? - Softer than a butterfly on the back of a bunny | 2 | 3 | 4 | The bed’s shaking and squeaking every time | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | Their dirty talk is so vulgar it’d make Dwayne Johnson blush. Also, the wall’s so weak it could collapse the next time they do it. (It really depends on their mood)
How much cuddling/snuggling do they do? - No touching after sex | 2 | 3 | 4 | A little spooning at night, or on the couch, but not in public | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | They snuggle and kiss more often than a teen couple on their fifth date to a pillow factory.
Children:
How many children will they have naturally? Between the three of them? Peter has two (Malia with Corinne, Jackson with Margaret (Betty)) Noah has three (Identical twins Stiles and Mike;  Mieczyslaw &  Michał and Liam; Milian), Chris has one (Allison). So they have 6 children already, Chris gets pregnant with twins after their night in the cabin. That would put the tally at 8.
How many children will they adopt? Chris adopted Isaac officially in this universe. Erica and Boyd are more or less adopted as well as Danny.
Who gets stuck with the most diapers? Peter, and he doesn’t mind it one bit. He didn’t get to change any diapers for Jackson or Malia. And since Chris carried the twins and gave birth it only seems fair he gets stuck with diaper duty. Noah and Chris teach him the ropes. He gets surprisingly good at juggling two babies, a diaper bag, and a set of keys/other items while keeping everything under control.
Who is the stricter parent? Chris. Noah tries but is too soft most of the time or too chaotic, and Peter just can’t say no once one of the kids pulls puppy eyes.
Who stops the kid(s) from doing dangerous stunts after school? Chris is best at stopping them, Noah tries to but due to his job can’t always keep an eye on them. Peter comes with them to let them explore but safely. He protects them while they do stupid shit.
Who remembers to pack the lunch(es)? Chris. He’s got the whole routine down to pat and is a streamlined machine in the mornings. Noah still can’t wrap his head around it. Peter’s still not used to having the kids with him 24/7 since both of his were adopted by other people, so he’s still learning the whole stick.
Who is the more loved parent? They love them all equally. Noah is the parent they go to when they need to talk about their feelings or need hugs, Chris is the parent they go to for advice and cuddling, and Peter is the fun parent who they go to when someone is bothering them. Peter also comes up with the best revenge schemes.
Who is more likely to attend the PTA meetings? Peter, he loves to hear how his kids are doing in school and doesn’t mind to absolutely obliterate their teachers if he knows a teacher is picking on his kids. He lives for shit like this as the rich house husband to his two working husbands. Also, the opportunity to brag to Karen about the kids is too good an opportunity to pass up.
Who cried the most at graduation? Noah, he’s just so proud of his boys up there.
Who is more likely to bail the child(ren) out of trouble with the law? Let’s face it, it’s Noah. He technically has to make sure that the law is upheld, but when it comes to his own kids, he’s not above giving them a pass. Though he’s more lenient towards kids in general. But yeah, Noah will most likely try and bail his kids out. Peter would let them steam for a few hours in a “You got caught, you deal with it.” Kinda way and then bail them out after a few hours. Chris would let them steam for a bit too and then determine how big the offense was before bailing them out.
Cooking:
Who does the most cooking? Chris, he’s the most practiced and most efficient. Though Noah loves to cook Polish food and bread. Peter does it when both of his mates have to work or are too tired to cook. He’s getting better at it.
Who is the most picky in their food choice? Peter. Werewolf senses mean he has a fussy pallette. He hates most vegetables for one. Though he has competition in Jackson, the little shit is a regular Gordon Ramsey.
Who does the grocery shopping? Peter, since Noah and Chris, tend to work during the day and he’s more of a stay-at-home house husband and dad. Chris gives him the lists. That doesn’t stop him from sneaking in snacks and candy for himself, Noah, and the kids. If possible, Chris likes to do the grocery shopping so there are no secret snacks.
How often do they bake desserts? At least once a week. Whether it’s for bake sales, PTO meetings, birthdays, weekends, a tryout, there’s always a baked good on the kitchen counter.
Are they more of a meat-lover or a salad eater? Peter and Noah are more Meat lovers. Chris is a mix between the two. He likes salads and meat but doesn’t have a preference over either. Unlike the other two.
Who is more likely to surprise the other(s) with an anniversary dinner? Peter, he takes them out to a grill restaurant. It doesn’t have to be fancy, but the quality has to be outstanding. They get their older kids to babysit and let them order anything they want as a reward.
Who is more likely to suggest going out? Once again, Peter, I feel like Noah or Chris would be more likely to be home dwellers and Peter’s the one that takes them to bars, musicals, restaurants, malls, etc.
Who is more likely to burn the house down accidentally while cooking? Noah, he’s not a bad cook, but he gets distracted by everything else and forgets he has pots/pans on the furnace.
Chores:
Who cleans the room? Chris or Peter. Noah tends to leave things everywhere and though he tries his best to clean up, the other two usually beat him to it.
Who is really against chores? Noah forgets to do them sometimes, but I feel like none of them is actually against them. Peter doesn’t like to do them but he likes a clean house, so.
Who cleans up after the pets? They have eight kids, a bunch of werewolves, a banshee, a kitsune, a hellhound, a Seelie, and god knows what else running around on the full moon. You think they have room for a pet???
Who is more likely to sweep everything under the rug? If we’re talking a literal rug, it’s Noah. Out of sight, out of mind. He also tends to stuff clutter in random drawers or closets.
Who stresses the most when guests are coming over? Chris. It’s his training and a bit of an OCD thing. “No, you don't get it Noah my love, EVERYTHING has to be spotless...” Cue Chris running around with a vacuum cleaner and a mop. “It’s just Melissa & Derek for wine night...”
Who found a dollar between the couch cushions while cleaning? Chris, and he puts them in the fun jar that they use to reward the kids. Once the jar is full, they go shopping or do another fun activity with the kids. Bad behavior/swearing gets money removed from the jar and into the dad jar. That money is used to give Chris/Peter/Noah an extra outing if the kids were particularly difficult.
Misc:
Who takes the longer showers/baths? Noah is a slut for long showers/baths. It’s his moment of relaxation.
Who takes the dog out for a walk? Noah occasionally walks Peter in his wolf form. At some point, people think Peter is a K9 unit, and Noah rolls with it. Which opens up opportunities for Peter to stay with Noah at work.
How often do they decorate the room/house for the holidays? Every year they decorate for Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Halloween.
What are their goals for the relationship? To love and support one another through anything and to keep a fun and raging sex life well into old age. But mostly to love and cherish one another and build each other up just the way they are.
Who is most likely to sleep till noon? Chris if you let him, training and habit have him up early, but his natural sleep cycle is to sleep like a log and to Noon.
Who plays the most pranks? Noah, he’s a mischievous little shit that loves to pull pranks on people and very sassy to boot. Where do you think Stiles, Mike, and Liam have that from?

General
Rate the Ship: Awful | Ew | No pics pls | I’m not comfortable | Alright | I like it! | Got Pics? | Let’s do it! | Why is this not getting more attention?! | The OTP to rule all other OTPs
How long will they last? ○  until the bleak, cold, black end, because elliot is a Lifetime Bitch
How quickly did/will they fall in love? ○ immediately upon laying eyes on each other beating the shit out of people
How was their first kiss? ○  shy, but cute. they’re soft only for each other and the chemistry was impeccable
Wedding
Who proposed? ○  elliot; her love language is gift-giving and with her bad experience with marriage, the ULTIMATE devotion and gift to give is marriage.
Who is the best man/men? ○  joey hudson for sure
Who is the bride’s maid(s)? ○  as red mentioned before, sharky would be furious if he wasn’t the maid of honor so of course elliot would uphold that
Who did the most planning? ○  elliot; cora would spent .000005 seconds about to say how she doesn’t want to do it and elliot would IMMEDIATELY take full reign
Who stressed the most? ○  i’m going to say cora just based off of red’s prev. answer--elliot doesn’t stress once she’s there and cora gets cold feet : ‘ )
How fancy was the ceremony? Back of a pickup truck | 2 | 3 | 4 | Normal Church Wedding | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | Kate and William wish they were this big. scarlet honeysett 1.) supports the marriage and 2.) would never let her daughter have anything less than a near-immaculate wedding, but elliot would try and reign her in.
Who was specifically not invited to the wedding? ○  i want to say john but i know that elliot and cora would send him an invite out of pure, unadulterated cruelty. so probably only joseph.
Sex
Who is on top? ○  definitely cora. elliot feels comfy enough around her to let go of some of that control.
Who is the one to instigate things? ○  probably elliot; she’s pretty touchy-feely when she’s happy
How healthy is their sex life? Barely touch themselves let alone each other | 2 | 3 | 4 | Once a couple weeks, nothing overboard | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | They are humping each other on the couch right now don’t @ me red you know it’s the truth
How kinky are they? Straight missionary with the lights off | 2 | 3 | 4 | Might try some butt stuff and toys | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | Don’t go into the sex dungeon without a horse’s head you bet your ass that since elliot likes cora being in control it happens
How long do they normally last? ○  elliot likes to take her time; she doesn’t like to rush through things, whereas cora is a very busy, so it’s somewhere in-between. elliot probably gets her to slow it down a little more often than not when she’s feeling particularly needy.
Do they make sure each person gets an equal amount of orgasms? ○  bruh you know elliot ain’t out here keeping track, as long as they’re both happy
How rough are they in bed? Softer than a butterfly on the back of a bunny | 2 | 3 | 4 | The bed’s shaking and squeaking every time | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | Their dirty talk is so vulgar it’d make Dwayne Johnson blush. Also, the wall’s so weak it could collapse the next time they do it. elliot is a sucker for pain
How much cuddling/snuggling do they do? No touching after sex | 2 | 3 | 4 | A little spooning at night, or on the couch, but not in public | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | They snuggle and kiss more often than a teen couple on their fifth date to a pillow factory. with cora, elliot loves softer moments; being held etc, the number would probably be higher if cora wasn’t so resistant to being vulnerable
Children
How many children will they have naturally? ○  MANY dog children, at least one horse, if cora lets her elliot would have a whole gaggle of chickens
How many children will they adopt? ○  elliot is absolutely terrified of having kids because her own mother was such a failure, so like??? how would she know how to be a mom. but she’d do it if cora asked, maybe like just one.
Who gets stuck with the most diapers? ○  they’re pretty equal on sharing child duties.
Who is the stricter parent? ○  probably cora; elliot is a flower-child at heart and likes to be the cool, fun parent, whereas cora provides the structure.
Who stops the kid(s) from doing dangerous stunts after school? ○  both of them, but mostly cora. elliot cannot be allowed to participate in truth or dare because she has no regard for her own safety, but she’s a worrying parent.
Who remembers to pack the lunch(es)? ○  elliot!
Who is the more loved parent? ○  elliot will say both of them, but she’s so soft and prone to hugs/arts and crafts projects that it might be her, though it’s VERY close.
Who is more likely to attend the PTA meetings? ○  both of them. elliot is hugely intense about PTA--not necessarily being a participant in events, but making sure her kids are getting a fair shake. she’s easily tiger mom and cora has probably had to intervene in elliot popping off on another parent more than once.
Who cried the most at graduation? ○  definitely el; she’s v v soft.
Who is more likely to bail the child(ren) out of trouble with the law? ○  again, el. cora’s more of a hardass than she is and she’s always thinking back on the days SHE used to get in trouble, so she likes to give them some wiggle room.
Cooking
Who does the most cooking? ○  el, but she shouldn’t be.
Who is the most picky in their food choice? ○  elliot. she’s weird about her food, cora will eat just about anything.
Who does the grocery shopping? ○  agaaaaaain elliot. cora would live entirely off of the green planet earth if she had it her way, but elliot needs things to make lemon bars and big batches of soup.
How often do they bake desserts? ○  the one good thing el’s mom ever did for her was give her the lemon bars recipe, so frequently. and baking is a de-stresser for elliot.
Are they more of a meat lover or a salad eater? ○   cora is a big meat eater, elliot is definitely more of a salad eater. this means every meal is both things and that whatever one doesn’t eat, the other will finish off.
Who is more likely to surprise the other(s) with an anniversary dinner? ○  probably cora; elliot is a bit scatter-brained when it comes to anniversaries and she doesn’t think very highly of them anyway and no matter what it is, elliot adores it.
Who is more likely to suggest going out? ○  cora. el is a big homebody and doesn’t like going out if she can help it.
Who is more likely to burn the house down accidentally while cooking? ○  cora, although elliot is not far behind.
Chores
Who cleans the room? ○  el; she’s a big tidier. consistently, throughout the day, definitely not a compulsion
Who is really against chores? ○  cora, which is fine because elliot has a specific place she likes everything to be anyway.
Who cleans up after the pets? ○  elliot.
Who is more likely to sweep everything under the rug? ○  cora.
Who stresses the most when guests are coming over? ○  cora, because she’s so worried about get picked apart by guests. elliot is used to it thanks to her mom, so she always gives cora a big pep talk prior.
Who found a dollar between the couch cushions while cleaning? ○  cora. the couch is the one place elliot doesn’t like to go.
Misc.
Who takes the longer showers/baths? ○  cora, but elliot will join her as often as she can to maximize hot water.
Who takes the dog out for a walk? ○  elliot, like clockwork, because she can’t stand the dogs spending all day with nervous/frantic dog energy.
How often do they decorate the room/house for the holidays? ○  cora likes to decorate fervently, elliot likes to neurotically take them down.
What are their goals for the relationship? ○  elliot is a big romance softie; she saw cora bash a man’s face in and it was true love, and she feels safe with cora which she doesn’t feel that way hardly ever. being stuck in constant fight or flight means cora gives her a sense of stability and stops her from second-guessing herself. i think cora probably just likes that elliot is so soft and also so willing to beat the shit out of someone for her.
Who is most likely to sleep till noon? ○  cora. elliot wakes up at 7 at the latest.
Who plays the most pranks? ○ if any, probably cora; elliot is not a prankster and her idea of a joke is surprising her with a kiss or something.

The Story Behind C.T. Webber’s Iconic Painting  ‘The Underground Railroad’
It is among the most iconic paintings in the collection of the Cincinnati Art Museum, and among the most reproduced. Charles T. Webber’s “The Underground Railroad” has illustrated books, magazines and encyclopedias by the score. And yet it took decades for the museum to accept the painting. One might say that this painting justifies the location of the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in our city.
Although Webber was born in New York, he spent most of his artistic career in Cincinnati. His first job involved tinting photographs in a local studio. He helped organize a number of arts organizations and clubs in the Queen City and consequently was very well connected in the local arts scene.
It is obvious that Webber possessed some talent. A painting of his was accepted in the 1881 Paris Salon and local newspapers reported that it was the first painting by an American artist, painted on American soil, accepted by the Salon. (Other American artists had provided work that they painted in Europe.)
Although Webber painted in a variety of genres – landscape, mythology, still life, etc. – he made his living painting portraits and through his studio got to know many significant residents of the Queen City.
Levi Coffin, known as the “President of the Underground Railroad,” met Webber after relocating from Indiana to Cincinnati in 1847. Webber painted Coffin’s portrait and also a companion portrait of Coffin’s wife, Catherine.
When the 1893 World’s Columbian Exhibition was announced – the Chicago World’s Fair scheduled to celebrate Columbus’ arrival in the New World – Webber set about painting his tribute to the Coffins and other “conductors” of the Underground Railroad. It took five years from initial sketches to final canvas. Webber’s painting was accepted for exhibition in Chicago along with some still-renowned artists like Frank Duveneck, T.C. Steele, Douglas Volk, Henry Farny and others.
Among this august assemblage, Webber’s painting stood out. The Daily Inter Ocean, a Chicago newspaper, published a lengthy article on “The Underground Railroad” in its issue of 8 July 1893:
“The peculiar strength of the picture, and which undoubtedly calls a halt to the footsteps and signals this out as interesting among the many, is the expression on the different faces.”
Those faces, unlike many other artistic representations of abolitionist activity, were painted from life. As noted, Webber had painted portraits of the Coffins and also painted a portrait of abolitionist Hannah Haydock who, although pictured in this image actually lived in Warren County, the next stop of the Underground Railroad.
It is likely that Webber expected this painting to fetch a good price when the Columbian Exposition ended, but it was not to be. Nearly 20 years later, as Webber lay dying in his home along the Ohio River near Sedamsville, the canvas was still in his possession.
At the close of the Chicago World’s Fair, Webber was nearly 70 years old. His sales declined as younger artists emerged on the scene. Webber’s wife died in 1891 while he was still working on his masterpiece and he moved in with one of his students, artist Mary Spencer, who eventually became his executrix.
In the years before Webber died, some of his colleagues, led by artist John Rettig, endeavored to collect a fund to purchase “The Underground Railroad” and present it to the Cincinnati Art Museum. Rettig, according to the Cincinnati Post [5 April 1911], had visited Webber as he lay dying:
“Even with the hand of death on him, Webber recognized his friend. Then his mind wandered. He grasped an imaginary brush in his gaunt hand and pointed to the easel he thought was before him, asking his friend’s advice as to the picture there.”
For a couple of years, Rettig’s fund-raising group had exhibited Webber’s “The Underground Railroad” at galleries and men’s clubs around Cincinnati in an effort to raise the $10,000 purchase price. With Webber’s death, the canvas was finally hung at the Cincinnati Art Museum, though only on loan while fund-raising continued.
It is a mystery, given the names associated with Rettig’s committee, why the painting could not have been purchased with the pocket change of half the organization. Among the subscribers were James N. Gamble, of Procter & Gamble; jeweler Loring Andrews; drug store magnate Cora Dow; artist Henry Farny; Judge Alfred K. Nippert; best-selling author William H. Venable; kindergarten pioneer Annie Laws and other names from the highest echelons of Cincinnati society.
According to Anita Ellis, former curator of decorative arts at the Cincinnati Art Museum, the purchase price was not fully collected until 1927. That year, the painting was officially donated to the Cincinnati Art Museum. By then, Webber had been in his grave at Spring Grove Cemetery for 16 years. Mary Spencer, Webber’s executor, died in 1923 at the age of 87.
Having acquired “The Underground Railroad,” the Art Museum almost immediately got rid of it. According to Anita Ellis [Cincinnati Historical Society Bulletin, Summer 1979]:
“On June 27, 1930, the painting was lent to Woodward High School, Cincinnati. It was returned on April 10, 1961, and has remained at the Museum since.”
Ellis, in her analysis of this painting, determined that Webber must have actually visited Levi Coffin’s suburban “farm” between Avondale and Walnut Hills to portray that location as the scene depicted in the painting.
Restoration of the painting in the late 1970s emphasized the historic aspects of the painting rather than its somewhat confusing artistic qualities. Still, “The Underground Railroad” stakes Cincinnati’s claim as a beacon of hope  – however dim – in a very dark time.

Cora and Madame Kovarian where friends and so when Kovarian gained custody of her niece, River, it was natural that River became friends with Cora’s daughter. However when River reached sixteen Kovarian moved her to another country so that she could take her apparent rightful place on the throne. She was a puppet for her Aunt just as Regina was for her Mother. She had no magic to bring her own power but after falling in love with a Lord (John Smith) she became more independent something which Kovarian could not allow. She had Lord Smith killed but instead of having River in her place it caused her to rebel and she exiled Kovarian from the country. Over the following years River reigned her country strictly, although never being outright cruel and traveling to the different regions, she did soon join the ‘Queens of Darkness’ by association. Once again this reunited her with Regina. She became closer with Maleficent too and was charged with protecting her daughter. She was sent through the portal with Lily, Cruella and Ursula. Along with the others she decided it wouldn’t be best for them to take the child but she still looked after Lily from afar working in a security company to get an income. Following Lily soon brought her to Storybrooke where she now stays.
HARRY POTTER v: hogwarts
River was born into a pure blood family. River didn’t know her maternal family, they had ostracised Amy after it became clear she would have nothing to do with their views on blood lineage. Her Mother’s Aunt (River’s great Aunt) was a death eater and could see the power that the child held. She took her from them and killed the pair before raising River as her own. Years later River was sorted into the Slytherin House she was in the same year as Lily Evans and they became friends despite the house difference. During her time at Hogwarts she met a young wizard named John Smith; the two did not immediately get along as she felt he was someone who judged her for her Aunts beliefs. However soon in a class they were sat together and soon realised that they had many of the same likes (Care of Mythical Creatures) and dislikes (blood discrimination) and grew closer; especially during their O.W.L.s where River’s talent for herbology and John’s for others meant they could help each other. After they left Hogwarts River and John married but during the First Wizarding War John was killed and tortured by Bellatrix along with the Longbottoms; his ghost still wanders Hogwarts. River was pregnant when he died but did not have the child, it was a big taboo for her family and she was then ostracised as well. If any John’s (doctor’s) would like to rp in this verse then he would not have died or would be the ghost, if any OC children would like to rp then River would have kept the baby. River returned to Hogwarts when she was older to teach Potions alongside Professor Snape. She tries to be kind and accepting to all however she does have a tendency to hold no acceptance for those who discriminate. Any student who dares to utter mudblood in her presence would not be treated well.
PERCY JACKSON/GREEK MYTH v: camp half blood
River Song was a young, greek demigod who never knew either of her parents. She was raised by a foster parent who didn’t really care about her and so when she was six years old and a Satyr came to collect her the older woman gave her up willingly.River stayed in Camp Half Blood from then on turning twelve when Percy Jackson turned sixteen and so it was then that River found out her parentage. She is the daughter of Nemesis.Like her Mother River has a strong sense of right and wrong/ good and bad but she tends to understand more that the balance is flexible and sometimes you need to do something wrong to be good.
SHERLOCK v: sherlock’s consultant
Sherlock has various extra people who have different skills that help with his investigations. River’s is archaeology. She also works with anthropological aspects too. River works across the world but will often come to New York if needed.
She is completely human in this verse, has a life firmly on the ground of Earth.
DETECTIVE SHOWS (I.E LUTHER, B99 ETC.) v: di river song
River is an ordinary human in this verse. She was born to Amy Williams, a writer, and Rory Williams, a nurse. They were a normal happy family but her parents passed away in a fire when she was 14. She was put into foster care. At that point River’s life went downhill a little. She acted out for attention even stealing a bus at one point. This moment was when River decided to become a police officer mainly because one officer took her under their wing. She did well and soon raised the ranks to Detective Inspector.
SENSE8 v: last of her cluster
River Song is a sensate who was a part of a cluster who nicknamed themselves ‘the sixes’. They were all born at 6:06am on the 6th of June 1966 and there was six of them. Three girls; River, Anita, and Missy, and three boys; John, Dave and Other Dave. Their cluster was born when they were sixteen years old, at the time River was in the care system in England. Due to this her cluster Mother, a woman named Amelia Williams, worried that she would be vulnerable to being misunderstood by people who wouldn’t realise what was happening, and so travelled down from Scotland and adopted her along with her husband Rory who was apart of Amelia’s cluster. As the cluster connection grew romantic connections began to form, although highly unusual all six members were attracted to one another and by the time they reached their twenty-first birthday they all considered themselves in a relationship with the others. For years they felt no need to hide and met up throughout the years forming connections with other sensates as they travelled. They were aware of the changes within BPO after 2011 but it didn’t really affect them very much until 2013. Missy, a corporate lawyer, had been investigating the company and then disappeared. The remaining five did their best to find her and then Other Dave went missing, then Dave, then Anita, then John. By 2015 River was alone. She permanently takes blockers in an attempt to shield herself. She hates BPO and is well aware that it is because of them she has lost the people who meant the most to her. Due to this she is unlikely to connect with another sensate due to feeling unable to trust them.

*must tag me in the fic and use # urwarriorangelwritingchallenge <3

Cookbooks I’m Excited to Dive into in 2019
Tumblr media
Cravings: Recipes for All the Food You Want to Eat & Cravings: Hungry for More
BY CHRISSY TEIGEN
I used to be indifferent to Chrissy Teigen. She was that lady married to John Legend and a television personality (what exactly does she do on Lip Sync Battle anways?)... but that that was about it. I didn’t even know or remember her as a model.
Then her cookbooks came out. I don’t know what it is about her recipes, but I think everyone was just as surprised as me at the success of Chrissy’s cookbooks. And naturally, their popularity piqued my interest. While many ingredients and meal ideas are day-to-day staples (like pork chops or mac+cheese), the spicy twists and Thai turns on various foods truly are recipes for food you want to eat. Paging through both books, I’m fairly certain I said “Yum” or “I want to try that” for just about every recipe. Not to mention, her humor makes her so incredibly personable.
Tumblr media
Pull Up a Chair: Recipes from My Family to Yours
BY TIFFANI THIESSEN
I’ve mentioned Tiffani before, but let me do it again.
The first recipe of hers that I tried in my own kitchen was the Blackberry Jam portrayed on her show, and it became an instant hit (I even gave small jars away as parting gifts for a family get together; it is amazing on vanilla ice cream). As simple as making jam may be, I knew then that I wanted to try more of her recipes. I immediately ordered her cookbook when it was released.
Some of her recipes I might consider slightly posh, but trust me when I say they still easily doable and sound absolutely delicious. Just remind me to try her Grilled Artichokes again, now that I actually know how to properly eat them. *facepalm* Also, her hostess flair comes through in the last section of the book called “Picture Perfect Parties” – which has menu, decor ideas, and other such notes for hosting various types of get-togethers (i.e. tailgates, brunches, family campouts, etc.)
Tumblr media
The Home Cook: Recipes to Know by Heart
BY ALEX GUARNASCHELLI
Over the years watching Food Network and Cooking Channel, I’ve really become a fan of Alex Guarnaschelli. She’s a fellow Italian (Italians have an unspoken bond lol), the first female to win Iron Chef and the second overall female Iron Chef (after Cat Cora), but really... the lady just knows her stuff. When I heard that she was releasing a cookbook, I was super excited to get my hands on it. Yes, me being excited about books of any form is a recurring theme for me.
One thing I look forward to in Alex’s cookbook – as well as with Giada’s down below – is experiencing how a fellow Italian does Italian food (although that is merely a portion of The Home Chef). We all have our own interpretations of Italian dishes based on our individual backgrounds. But I suppose that could be true of many cultures and many dishes.
Also mildly prevalent in Alex’s cookbook is the sort of... “upscale” demeanor that I might associate with professionally educated chefs. It’s not many cookbooks you find recipes for bouillabaisse, unless they trained went to culinary school or studied in France  – or in Alex’s case, the two combined (she attended La Varenne Cooking School in Burgundy, France).
Tumblr media
Magnolia Table: A Collection of Recipes for Gathering
BY JOANNA GAINES
I always try to resist the charm of Chip and Joanna Gaines... but guys, it’s really hard. And, not gonna lie, a lot of the merchandise from their line at Target is SO PRETTY and on my wishlist 😍 Damn you, Gaines’s.
While I am not entirely into the modern farmhouse aesthetic showcased on Fixer Upper or loosely included in their Target line, I am really feeling the down-to-earth homey recipes that Joanna shares in Magnolia Table. Many have that “fresh from the farm” Southern feel (based on her childhood in Kansas), where a handful of others include her Korean and Lebanese heritage.

Eat What You Watch: A Cookbook for Movie Lovers
BY ANDREW REA
I discovered this book at work and I absolutely LOVE the concept! In fact, I’ve been plotting a project for myself with a similar concept (more on this later).
Eat What You Watch encompasses 40 recipes to help recreate the amazing food moments in film – butterbeer from Harry Potter, the apple strudel from Inglorious Basterds, the titular ratatouille from Ratatouille. Essentially, this cookbook is the PERFECT way to combine my two favorite things. And I’ll get to watch some new movies in the process 😋

Giada’s Italy: My Recipes for La Dolce Vita
BY GIADA DE LAURENTIIS
I have an... interesting connection to Giada de Laurentiis.
Noooo, no it’s not just because of our shared Italian heritage (she was born in Rome!), but rather a foodie experience I had a few years ago.
In late 2016, I traveled to Las Vegas with my aunt for her birthday. As a special birthday meal, we dined at Giada’s namesake restaurant on Vegas Strip. Sparing you the details, I think this was actually the first fancy-ish and refined dining experience I’ve ever really had. I spared no expense and splurged as much as I could, from appetizer to dessert. I really don’t know how to explain it properly but Giada just holds a special place in my and my aunt’s hearts thanks to this experience we shared. Later on, I even planned and together we cooked an entire meal inspired by our experience, utilizing Giada’s own recipes from her website Giadzy.
Unlike her other books, however, I felt that this one was more authentic. There are the people that want “everyday” and “weeknight” recipes for oversimplified meals, but Giada’s Italy to me just felt more... real. More Giada than her other titles. And, as I mentioned along with Alex Guarnaschelli’s book, I look forward to tasting Giada’s interpretation of Italian food, especially knowing that Giada’s recipes incorporate a Californian flare, spawning by her childhood in Los Angeles.

Bread Illustrated  BY AMERICA'S TEST KITCHEN
This cookbook is part of my ever-evolving desire to cook more items from scratch. As an Italian (I know I know, I’ve already mentioned this too much in this post), there are two things we (or at least I) really love as eaters: pasta and bread. It seems only natural for me to be excited to utilize this book. And, of course, it makes the house smell amazing! There’s nothing like the aroma of baked goods. I am always so fascinated by how varying measurements of flour, yeast, and wet ingredients can create beautifully diverse loaves of bread.

Mediterranean Cookbook
EDITED BY MARIE-PIERRE MOINE
A final repetition of this concept – Mediterranean Cookbook is another way I want to discover Italian food interpretation. However, this title is also much, much more than that. The Greek, Spanish, Andalusian, etc. foods within Mediterranean Cookbook allow me to uncover the flavors of the entire region, flavors that go well beyond Italy. I just might have to get over my distaste for olives to tackle this one.
Equally as entertaining will be trying to understand and use the titles of dishes – most, if not all of them, are not in English. But, if anything, I consider it a way to immerse myself into the culture of each dish.
Regions include (listed in the index): Middle East, North Africa, Morocco, Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Sicily, Greece, and Turkey.
HONORABLE MENTIONS: The Book of Greens: A Cook's Compendium by Jenn Louis with Kathleen Squires In a strange turn of events, I've taken an interest in *gasp* salads and vegetables and healthier foods 😝 And while I also purchased The Vegetable Butcher by Cara Mangini a couple years ago, I knew it couldn't hurt to get my hands on a book just about greens; how to select, break down, cook them AND what flavors pair well with them. Let's be real, I just love any book that is essentially an encyclopedia for chefs. Instant Pot Electric Pressure Cooker Cookbook by Sara Quessenberry & Kate Merker Now that I have two Instant Pots in my possession (a 3-quart and an 8-quart), it is now a matter of actually using them. My first meal from the Pot was butternut squash soup, and I have since experimented with hard boiled eggs, a pot roast, and chicken breast (both from frozen!) that all turned out wonderfully... but I would definitely love to add more to my Instant Pot reportoire. I may still enjoy cooking the old fashioned way, but you can't deny how well the Instant Pot works. The Kinfolk Table: Recipes for Small Gatherings by Nathan Williams I got this book as an absolute steal at a garage sale; I think I literally only paid 10 cents. I may not read Kinfolk Magazine, but I was immediately drawn to the beautiful composition and cultural aspects of it. Not only does the cookbook encompass recipes from around the world, but also the stories that inspired them from the people who shared them. Although The Kinfolk Table is divided into Brooklyn, Copenhagen, The English Countryside, Portland (Oregon), and "The Wandering Table," the book's contributors span the entire globe.
