Prologue

All little girls were happy, right? Of course you were, you seemed to just beam with happiness. You had a good life, with caring and attentive parents who doted on you and a twin sister who you did everything with. Many loved it while some thought you could be too much at times. You wanted things to stay the way they used to be forever, but doesn't everyone when there doesn't seem to be anything wrong in the world?

It was coming to the middle of the school year when your teacher started discussing how our quirks would manifest at any time. You were excited as well as your other classmates after hearing this news, but two boys stood out to you. You knew them of course, they were your classmates after all. The boy who smiled so brightly was Izuku Midoriya, you got along with him as you both had a similar love for heroes and the other boy was Katsuki Bakugo: he was your neighbors, neighbor. Your parents were well acquainted with each other, the pairs would make you walk to school together, of course, this meant you just trailed behind Bakugo and his friends and Midoriya often joined you in following the group thankfully giving you someone to talk to. Your sister on the other hand always seemed to be up front and center though, often trying to lead with Bakugo.

There were so many people, you were often ignored, never seeming to be noticed. Some days there would be six of you, maybe four, or just...the two of you. Your sister was sick often. You loved your sister and hated seeing her sick, but you suppose it had its benefits. On those days, it could just be you and Bakugo from time to time.

"Suki!" you called out to the boy ahead of you, Suki was the name his mom called him when you had just first met. That name was engraved into your head, he used to call you out for not using his real name but after time he had just given up on trying to tell you off. "You're walking too fast, slow down!"

He continued walking yelling at you without even looking back in your direction. "Come on I'm not even walking that fast! Maybe if your legs grew a little more you'd be able to keep up with me Yuko!" he said with a smug tone.

Early mornings like this were normal for you and Bakugo, walking to school only took a few minutes if you used a shortcut through the woods, but due to a storm a few days ago, the trail was closed off since tree branches had fallen and covered most of it. So that morning you both decided to just take the sidewalks to school instead. You never realized how busy the roads get as everyone leaves their homes for school and work, even the buses look full!

As the minutes went by, you continued walking in silence.

Getting closer to the school you had to cross multiple crosswalks. And the sidewalks just seemed to be getting busier by the second. People were starting to crowd you, and you were losing sight of Bakugo. Trying to make your way through the sea of adults, you spot Bakugo across the road, rather than think about your surroundings anymore you started thinking about how he didn't even notice you weren't behind him anymore.

Losing focus you stepped into the road without even bother looking. You were so caught up in Bakugo not noticing you, that you didn't even notice the car that had swerved around you until you felt the harsh wind pressure blowing your hair into your face.

You froze: eyes wide, and full of fear. You screamed before you could even fully register what had happened.

At that moment, as your quirk finally manifested, fear consumed you and prevented you from realizing the small cloud of green gas escaping from your palms. The intensity of the accident just overwhelmed you so much that you thought you were having a normal reaction. The thought that your fear was being intensified never once crossed your young head.

No one else noticed either. Noticing must not be anyone's strong suit.

Katsuki came running, getting near you he questioned why he was scared too. Was it because he knew he was going to get in trouble for not staying near you, or the fact you could have died?

Over the next few months leading up to summer, everyone else started to develop their quirks. Bakugo was the first: standing in the middle of the classroom, small flashes came from his hands. Everyone looked in awe, you thought they looked like tiny fireworks.

And by the end of the year, everyone had their quirks, except...neither yours nor Midoriyas.

Even your sister had manifested hers. Dream Cloud they called it; the user can emit a special gas from their body that induces vivid and uncontrollable dreams and it immobilizes the opponent, rendering them physically inactive and vulnerable to attacks on anyone who comes into contact with it. The dreams can range from pleasant and fantastical experiences when exposed to the dream gas, individuals with good dreams become deeply engrossed in their positive fantasies, experiencing vivid and euphoric dreams beyond their control The user can also manipulate the properties of the gas, allowing them to control the duration and intensity of the dreams inflicted upon others.

Years were passing, and you were growing up thinking you were quirkless.

Your anxiety was getting worse, and your home was a tense place to be. Your parents kept you at a distance, all of your old friends too. Yume, your sister; your twin flame. She tried to help with her quirk. It worked for a little while but it would stress out her body so your parents made her stop, it was too much to bear for everyone.

"Yume...you can't keep doing this," you said tiredly. She looked exhausted as she sat on the bottom bunk with you. She was trying to help you sleep but it was wearing her out. "you're going to hurt yourself...just please, stop it"

"I can't, your lack of sleep is starting to get to you Y/N. You've got dark circles under your eyes now..." She was rubbing at them. You knew she was right though, it was starting to get to you. And it was starting to get to everyone else too. Yume's hands were shaking as she brought her hands to her own eyes. She was tired, but...she still tried.

Bakugo was willing to stay with you too, still walking to school together. You always felt more at ease when with him. He'd become protective of you ever since that day when you were little. However, he was changing around you too. Becoming more observant, he noticed all the things you didn't.

All the times you were nervous or anxious, he'd carefully watch as you 'steamed'. Just looking at you, no one could tell it was happening. But if you looked closely enough; a light green fog was persistently emitting from your palms and the soles of your feet.

"Yuko you're...nevermind"

- ┈┈┈┈┈┈ - -- - ┈┈┈┈┈┈ -

"Y/N PLEASE!" your mother shouted. "STOP THIS YOU'RE SCARING US!"

What...was happening to you? Who's in control...?

You were screaming; it felt as if you were ripping in two. Crying out, begging, and pleading for them to make it stop. The house was filling with green, you were scared; you couldn't see your family, only hearing their screams. You were walking the line between panic and losing your mind. Overwhelmed by guilt and remorse, you listened in horror as your family suffered, unable to do anything to stop it. Tears stream down your face as you desperately scream apologies, knowing that your words alone can never truly mend the pain you've caused. Fear that you can't reverse. Your body arched forward as gas was released from your body. Starting to feel weaker by the second you didn't know what to do, looking into the gas you opened your mouth.

The last thing you were able to say to your family "I'M SORRY...IM SOR...ry..." before it all went black.

Opening your eyes, they were met with dim lights that sparked and flickered. Confusion and terror washed over you realizing you had no idea where you were. Sitting up quickly your eyes darted swiftly around the room, scanning every detail, until they abruptly landed on a clock. In a split second, they absorb the time displayed, capturing this essential piece of information amidst the chaos of their rapid movements.

"8:47 am...but it was just 11 am...where am I?" you said to yourself.

"ah, you're awake!" a woman said.

Startled; you got up from the bed you were lying on. White; why was everything white? Why didn't you notice this?

You twisted and turned looking all over the room "8:52" Your eyes were looking everywhere; the wall, the bed, the clock, the table, your hands; the gas was coming out of them then it just...stopped. Finally looking at the door; there was a woman and a man, you stared down at the woman as she spoke to you. You could hear her but you weren't listening, just taking in her every detail. Your body was trembling, as your eyes moved to the man standing next to her.

"8:58"

"So now that you know why you are here, yes the time is 8:58 dear anyway, this will be your caretaker"

She pointed to the man next to her, he towered over us, his long black hair rising above his head, he looked tired like you, eyes glowed red and looked puffy; his eyes which he never took off of you.

"Shota Aizawa"

"What?"

𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗜𝗥 𝗙𝗔𝗠𝗜𝗟𝗬 𝗪𝗔𝗦 𝗡𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗥 𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗔𝗙𝗙𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 . or maybe it was just katsuki who was like that ; always pushing away the obvious kinds, begrudgingly accepting the less so, tolerating what he got for the sake of letting it pass so it would be over with. it wasn’t like he actually hated it ╱ that in itself was a ploy, a carefully constructed wall to discourage those who thought to give it a try on the younger blond. his personal space was a valuable aspect of him, after all. he didn’t like people infringing on it ⸺ not even his family.

but these were extraordinary circumstances. these were a chain of events that, in any other scenario, wouldn’t have happened one after another.

it begins with the kidnapping and the rush to bring katsuki home. it continues with all might’s retirement and the weighing guilt on his chest that it was his fault, his, because he couldn’t keep it together to make it out himself. the next straw was failing the provisional license exam where his brother succeeded, along with most of his class ╱ and finally, perhaps the heaviest of it all, was the fight he initiated with izuku. the same one that enabled him into a truth he wasn’t sure he wanted to see ⸺ a secret he had to keep to himself so he wouldn’t endanger anyone else.

it meant keeping it from his own twin ⸺ keisuke, who would always come to know every one of katsuki’s secrets, who would take them to his grave without being asked. it meant acting as though the fight never happened, even though he visited the weekend after with a couple of bandages on his face, haphazardly played off as remedial nonsense. would it truly have been a surprise, in the end, for them to finally collide ? ╱ for things to finally reach a head when there was nothing else, because katsuki was avoiding the topic like the plague and he’d never done that before ? ( and that was the thing : he’d never kept a secret from keisuke before. he never had a reason to. )

their fight starts off petty. this wasn’t anything unusual, per se, but the digs become more personal and katsuki gets more nasty as his brother keeps pressing the wound. there is a tangle of emotions wrapped tightly around his lungs that constrict and suffocate when keisuke tries to dig beneath the surface ╱ the younger of the twins uses it to carry a bite in his words until their mother finally tells them to take it outside. katsuki doesn’t hesitate. it would be one of the few times they’re allowed to use their quirks if her tone was anything to go by.

from there, katsuki fuels the intense bundle of emotion by taking it out on his twin, fighting to win like he always does ⸺ only now, there is an intensely cloudy look in his eyes, covered up by sheer frustration and fast-paced actions. ( he knows he would never win this fight, just like he never won any others. keisuke was somehow blessed in being marginally better ; in his quirk use, in his battle sense, in everything they did. it only reminds him of how close he was to losing to izuku not long ago, reminds him that even someone who was quirkless was blessed with a power and a chance to catch up, and it adds sugar into the long-festering wound he was trying to heal ╱ how is he meant to cope with that ? how is he meant to keep that from the one person who knows everything about him ? )

by the time katsuki is beat ⸺ older brother confining his wrists, preventing further use of their quirks ⸺ the younger of the twins feels tears in his eyes.

❝ fuck you. ❞

keisuke would never say it back. katsuki doesn’t want him to, this time ; it doesn’t even feel like he is saying it to his twin in the first place.

it’s almost like looking into a mirror ╱ matching crimson eyes, ash blond hair, only the reflection never carries the same furrow in his brows or the scowl etched into his lips, a dimple marginally present at all times. the younger wrestles a hand out of keisuke’s grip to shove him off and sit up.

❝ i can’t tell you shit, keisuke. y’don’t think i fuckin’ want to ? we know every single stupid secret we got between each other, and this is the one fuckin’ time where i ⸺ i just fuckin’ can’t. ❞ it aches. deku has all might’s power, he wants to say. and if anyone figures it out before too long, we’re all fucking screwed. ❝ i already swore i wouldn’t say a fuckin’ word about it to anyone, okay ? not even to you. especially not you. ❞

the constricting feeling in his chest tightens and salt water seeps between his lips, reminding him of the bitterness of it all ╱ the shame he feels in letting such emotion crack past his usual façade. it is more intense knowing his brother is watching.

❝ so just ⸺ just fuckin’ let it go. ❞

silence. katsuki goes to lift himself up from the ground until ⸺

when keisuke’s arms find their way around the younger of the twins, tense crimson gaze widens and body seizes up for a moment ╱ he forgets, for a moment, about the bubbling frustrations and constricting feeling in his lungs in favour for the surprisingly tender hold of his older twin. he forgets about their stupid fight. he eventually allows himself to let go of how he disliked the close proximity, the affection, in favour of chasing after the feeling of acceptance and recognition ⸺ of understanding, clarity.

keisuke didn’t have to say anything. katsuki doesn’t hear him if he does, head slowly sinking into his twin’s shoulder and aching arms slowly reciprocating the embrace. he would never be caught dead like this in any other scenario ⸺ the blond would sooner find a ditch to die in were it anyone else. but god, everything ached in a way he didn’t know it could, and there was just enough respite in his brother’s hold.

he’d tell his brother everything eventually. for now, though ? katsuki lets himself sit there for a little longer, wordless, taking this opportunity to let himself breathe.

In a small note; How could you think, that Bakugou has no use in the series. How. After, all of the things that went down, the entire story. Things, that without him, wouldn't have happened. I am, losing my mind.

I don’t even think us and antis are even reading the same manga at this point?

I mean it is insane how they are able to dilute themselves so much into thinking that one of the most important relationships of the entire manga is either platonically or romantically abusive?? Katsuki sacrificed himself for Deku, then he goes after him because he knows Deku’s in pain — THEN he apologizes in front of EVERYONE. I’m sure that’s not how he intended to do it but Deku desperately needed to hear it at that moment and fuck if he looks vulnerable in front of other people. They say well “he’s manipulating him!!!” Into what???? Giving a shit about himself?? Or coming back to UA which would be beneficial for ONLY Izuku??? If he really didn’t care and wanted to be rid of him he could have encouraged Dekus vigilante behavior and Deku would’ve been dead in days. Done.

It matters how Deku was treated. We know — Katsuki knows — that he was a bully and he was bad. He’s been punished by the narrative from the very fucking start. Nobody liked him. He was kidnapped because the villains thought he was BAD? He’s been the damsel in distress because he refused to work with others and thought he was above them and has suffered through the guilt of his own actions that brought down All Might.

And he’s atoned.

Helping Deku with his quirk, catching all might in a lie for Deku, keeping an eye on him in battle because he knows that Deku always considers himself last. SACRIFICING HIS OWN LIFE. I don’t think any anti knows how ducking close he was to biting it. He would have died trying to save someone — DEKU.

It doesn’t mean that he’s done — not even fucking close — he’ll show Deku how much he cares for the rest of their lives and careers because they will be heroes together.

He tried so fucking hard to keep Deku away from him but now he’s holding him close — as his best and brightest protector and friend.

I can’t imagine how people can ask for his death when Izuku himself would kick their ass for even suggesting something like that.

Deku can’t imagine a world without Kacchan.

And Katsuki can’t live in a world without Deku.

He’s grown so far past what we all knew he would and exceeded our expectations just like he said he would.

And to all the people who allow themselves to hurt and cry about how their relationship builds into a supernova. I feel bad for you. So fucking bad for you because you can’t look at the meta or writing, or art and think “wow they’re just amazing together” and you are missing out dude.

Because twin stars and supernovas don’t come around often — and I’d love for you to see that this is one of them.

Warnings: a shit ton of emotions, the words kill myself, Shoto also has a long ass monologue, Bakugo has a breakdown (in front of [y/n], Kiri and shoto), Izuku has a small monologue, oh and a cliffhanger of you squint :)

Pairing: shoto todoroki x fem!reader

Note: I think this is turning into a full on fic, lol. I have no clue how many parts there are going to be, so….

Previously: “Can you guys stop arguing for one second?!” Kirishima shouts, gaining their attention. “She’s awake!”

Present:

Your wide eyes look around the room, your hand squeezing Todoroki’s.

You start choking on the tube that’s down your throat.

Bakugo screams for someone to come in the room. Dr. Erika comes running in, and immediately get’s to work on removing the breathing tube.

Once it’s out she encourages you not to speak, and to drink lots of water. You simply nod, never letting go of Todoroki’s hand.

Once the Doctor leaves the room after checking all your vitals, you glare at Bakugo and Izuku.

“The fuck is that look for?” Bakugo questions, sitting down and crossing his arms.

“That look is probably for the fact that the first thing she hears when she wakes up after a month: was you two fighting,” Todoroki says, sounding angry.

“Well I can’t help the fact that Deku can’t protect his own sister,” Bakugo remarks, gesturing towards your twin brother.

“Bakugo!” You attempt to shout at him, but all that comes out is a squeak. “Bakugo,” you say quieter, but still sounding angry.

“You were told not to speak, dumbass,” Bakugo puts his hands behind his head, leaning back.

“I am not a dumbass, you’re a dumbass,” you say angrily, your voice all raspy.

The other three look at you in shock, no one in class 1-A has every stood up to Bakugo like that—calling him a dumbass.

“What did you just call me?” He stands up, looking at you angrily.

“I called you a dumbass. Dumbass,” you repeat yourself after sipping the water next to you, your voice sounding less raspy.

“[Y/n],” Todoroki squeezes your hand in warning.

“I’m not scared of him,” you say, never looking away from Bakugo. “He won’t hurt me.”

Bakugo looks at you confused, knowing very well you were right. He could never hurt you. After all, he was arguing about being the one to protect you.

“If he did, I’d kill him,” says your boyfriend.

“There is no if, Icy Hot. You know damn well I would never hurt her.” Bakugo exclaims, making a fist at Shoto.

“Kacchan’s right,” Izuku shocks you all by saying. “I couldn’t protect you; even with my quirk.” he looks at his hand.

“Deku, I didn’t mean-”

“Whether you meant it or not: you were right.” Izuku cuts off Bakugo and looks up, tears in his eyes. “I’m not a good brother. I didn’t have the balls to talk to Kaji when I figured out he was beating you. I didn’t have the balls to go after him when you were in the hospital after he stabbed you the first time. I-I didn’t even apologize about how I reacted to your pregnancy until after the miscarriage that almost resulted in losing you.” he clenches his fists.

“Midoriya-” Todoroki starts, but Izuku cuts him off.

“I couldn’t even accept that you were happy with Todoroki until I saw how you looked at him when you woke up after the miscarriage! Every time you needed me, I was being a dick! But Kacchan was always there for you! He was always there when I wasn’t! He’s a better brother to you than your actual brother!” he exclaims.

“Izuku,” you say, tears streaming down your face.

“You’re better off without me!” he shouts, heading towards the door.

“Midoriya!” Kirishima attempts to stop him, but he’s already out the door.

“Izuku,” you say quieter, you voice cracking as you cry, you look at Bakugo angrily. “This is your fault!” You point a finger at him.

He puts his hands up in surrender, looking like he’s about to cry. “[Y/n] I-” he stutters. “I didn’t mean anything I said to him! I was all up in my feelings about you being in a coma, and you all know I’m not good with controlling my emotions!” He exclaims, a few tears falling down his cheeks.

You put your finger down, noticing how upset Bakugo seems at what he has done. “I’m sorry,” he cries. Kirishima is quickly by Bakugo’s side, pulling him into his chest as he cries.

“Bakugo,” you sigh, letting go of Todoroki’s hand and opening your arms. “C’mere,” you gesture for him to come towards you.

Before you could blink, Bakugo his up in the bed next to you, hugging you. “I’m sorry I made him walk out,” he cries, his body shaking. You’ve never seen him this upset. “I said I wouldn’t hurt you, but I just did,” he sobs.

“Bakugo, it’s OK,” you say, hugging him tightly. “I’m not mad anymore,” you lift his face so he looks at you; smiling through your tears. “See,” you say, your smile faltering as he burries his face in your neck as he cries.

TIME SKIP

It’s been an hour since you woke up; an hour since Izuku stormed off.

You currently sit in your hospital bed, a sleeping Katsuki Bakugo with his head on your chest and a frustrated looking Shoto Todoroki sitting next to your bed.

“Calm your tits, Shoto,” you whisper, lightly chuckling.

“He’s got his face in your tits.” he says, crossing his arms. “Those tits are for my face, and my face only,” he huffs.

“Calm down, Todoroki,” says Kirishima from his place on the couch, his eyes not even opening. “Bakugo is a man of consent. He wouldn’t try anything—even if he were into chicks.” he chuckles, rubbing his eyes and stretching. “Every time we have sex, he always makes sure he gets my consent to every single thing he does. It’s incredibly cute,” Kiri smiles as he look at his sleeping boyfriend cuddled into his best friend’s side. “Plus, I’m very grateful that they get along. He may have known her longer than I have, but she is my best friend. And since I’m dating him I kind of feel the need for her approval.” he shrugs.

“I approve,” you smile, looking down at the sleeping blond and running your fingers through is hair.

“I can see that,” Kiri chuckles.

“Do you have to run your fingers through his hair, though?” Todoroki pouts.

“Hm?” you look over at your boyfriend.

“Do you have to run your fingers through his hair,” —he repeats— “Those fingers only belong on my body,” he adds.

You stop, looking at him with a smirk. “Are you jealous?”

“Of course I’m jealous!” exclaims, standing up. “You’re my girlfriend! And the first person you cuddle with after being in a coma for nearly two months is him?! You chose to cuddle him instead of me! Your boyfriend!” Tears fill his eyes in frustration, anger, and most of all: betrayal.

“Shoto, I-”

“I never left this hospital room the entire time you were comatose! Not once! I never left your side unless I needed to shower; which I only did when Bakugo would come in and comment on either how greasy my hair looked, or how much I smelled like BO! Your mother literally had to force me into the bathroom to shower, because I refused to leave your side!”

“The thought of you waking up to me not around consumed my thoughts! I had Fuyumi bring me clothes once a week, because that’s how often I showered! I even contemplated on ways to kill myself if you were to never wake up! I had a whole plan!”

“I haven’t been to school in two weeks, because you are more important to me than showing up my father! You are more important to me than becoming a pro hero! You are the most important! I love you with everything I am and more!”

“My heart beats for you, [Y/n] Midoriya; and without you, that beating is pointless.”

Okay literally you two have always been together even when you both slept as babies Inko would try to separate you both and you two would only start crying, but once she put you two together again THAT’S when you both settled down.

You both look alike, BUT do not have the same personality. Your brother is more.. timid and shy and never and I mean NEVER gets mad unless it’s something serious.

While you speak up more, you tend to defend those who can’t defend themselves and you DEFINITELY will not let anyone pick on you.

(That’s why Bakugou never picked on you because you’d definitely stand up for yourself and for your brother even when he asked you not to so.)

You weren’t born quirkless you inherited your mother’s quirk and was able to levitate things while Midoriya never got his the doctor said he would never get it and was just born quirkless.

Midoriya asked his mom if he could still become a hero one day and with that she only cried and you cried along with her (some people say twins can feel each other’s emotions so imma just add that you did.)

You never used your quirk in front of him, but he kept telling you it was fine and even asked if you could use it more so he could write it down in his journal (which you were like yeah okay:)

following middle school you both went to the same one.. with Bakugou and he didn’t let up on his bullying which only prompt you to become more protective of Izuku.

One day you had to stay home because you were sick and of course Midoriya is responsible and just goes to school he didn’t come home for a WHILE which made you nervous because you liked him being with you all the time.

He comes back home and is like “GET IN THE ROOM I HAVE TO TELL YOU SOMETHING.” So you do and he tells you about All Might (yeah he trusts you) and you’re fucking like :O the whole time.

“Izuku y-y-y-you met all might and he wants to give you his quirk?”

He nods.

“WE CAN APPLY AT U.A TOGETHER NOW.”

Lmao you both continue to cheer on while Inko just walks in confused as fuck.

Of course he’s going to introduce you to All Might so congratulations to All Might he now has TWO adoptive children.

You both apply to U.A get accepted AND get to be in the same class.

So when everyone saw you both walk in everyone shouted “YOU BOTH ARE TWINS?!” While circling you both.

Bakugou is there and just confused as to how Midoriya got into U.A, he knows you have a quirk (and a impressive one he’ll give you that, but that doesn’t mean he lowkey has a crush on you but totally does)

The both of you always teaming up with each other because.. that’s just how you two role. Aizawa is curious and you just tell him that you both don’t even have to exchange words and just KNOW what ideas you both have.

Of course you do spend a little time alone making friends with Kirishima, Mina, Kaminari, and Tokoyami.

You’re the only person that Todoroki allows in his bubble because even when you’re super hyper you know when he’s around you’ll act calm and just simply say Hi to him.

(Bakugou growling in the back)

Your definitely upset how much Midoriya injures himself because of the quirk he got. He’s not used to it and can’t often control how much strength he uses.

So during the USJ attack you almost get touched by Shigaraki and Midoriya literally shouts “NO!” While trying to reach for you while a Nomu is reaching for him (cue All Might coming to the rescue)

Now let’s move on to the camp attack.. you’re paired up with Bakugou and at first you both just glare at each other while walking, but you almost trip and Bakugou quickly catches you in his arms (CUE BAKUGOU BEING A BLUSHING MESS AND YOU TOO)

“T-Thanks..” “be more careful next time dumbass..”

Skip forward to the forest being set on fire and Bakugou is holding your hand and you’re just like 😳 but let him continue to hold it.

“Bakugo what do we do?” You asked.

“It’ll be okay! Just follow me.” Still continues to hold your hand because he doesn’t want to lose you.

Skip forward when your reunited with your brother and with the rest of the group after fighting for a bit a villain manages to take several students including Bakugou and at first you all got the two students back.

While Todoroki was going to get Bakugo back a portal shows up and grabs Bakugou first he had a whole bunch of piercings with dark blue eyes your screaming Bakugou’s name, but Bakugou only mutters out for you to stay put.

Midoriya isn’t a quitter tho and tries getting Bakugou only for him to say the same thing to him the portal closes and Midoriya falls to the ground..

You sink to your knees realizing that the villains had won in taking Bakugou.

You quickly get up a rush over to Midoriya, his arms were badly injured and were a black/purplish color.

His face expression just.. made you so upset he was shocked and then he started crying and you could only cuddle him into your arms while letting him cry out.

Bakugou x GN!Reader x Midoriya | Prompt: Fake Dating Contains: Fluff, Jealous, Scheming

Bakugou’s POV**

He had been watching you since you came into the class, your unique personality attracting him right away. You did not put up with his attitude, at all. You had called him an idiot and threatened to smack him the first day, and man he had fallen for you. But, Katsuki Bakugou was not currently ready or interested in a relationship. All he wanted was to surpass All Might, and now Deku was in his way. So, he did what he did best and bottled up any emotions for you and threw that bottle with a blast. Of course, this didn’t stop him from being a jealous wreck every time someone else got close to you, and especially when you gave anyone else attention. So, he picked on you constantly so your eyes were always on him. Even if it was mostly shouts, smacks and threats, well, that's his love language. He just has no idea, nor do you. He would also snap at anyone who tried to get too close to you, his glares and pops in his palms usually enough to scare anybody away. It did not stop, however, a certain green haired boy who was basically immune to Bakugou’s threats. Now, Izuku had no intentions of dating you, no. He was simply your best friend as the two of you had so much in common, it was like you were twins. But did the angry spikey boy know this? Of course not. It was now third year, and Bakugou still struggled with the tearing pain in his chest every time he saw you smile that smile at Deku. That damn Deku.

Y/N POV**

You had had a crush on Bakugou when you had first met him, despite his nasty attitude. He was hot after all, and you were not immune to hot guys. However, as you had come to know him over the last two years, you had only come to fall in love with him. While he didn’t necessarily talk with you, he would shout random things about himself before running off. Or when you showed interest in things you had in common, he would begin to start showing interest when you brought up the subject before getting angry and leaving. You had come to take his shouts and angry outbursts as attempts at getting to know you, and honestly you were right. You had started noticing whenever a guy came to chat with you, Bakugou would lose his shit. He always brushed it off as people annoyed him, but he didn’t seem to care when Kirishima touched Mina’s waist or when Kaminari brushed against Jirou, but god help anybody if they accidently touched you. He would start shouting about personal space and how them being near was an annoyance, even if they hadn’t been near him. Kirishima had come to your dorm in the middle of the night with Mina in tow, and had told the two of you that Bakugou had asked about you, and if you had anybody you liked. He had lied and said he wasn’t sure, and Bakugou had basically threatened him to ask without bringing him up. Usually, Kirishima would think it was unmanly to tell you Bakugou’s secret conversation, but he knew this was going to be for the best. Now, you had a mission to make that boy admit he likes you. Your best friend being Izuku, and him knowing Bakugou so well, you decided to enlist his help. Izuku was more than willing to help you out, because he honestly believed you’d be able to “tame Kacchan” and would be good for him. So, along with Mina and Kirishima, you devised a plan.

Bakugou’s POV**

You had been acting as if there was some secret in the past few days, and honestly it was pissing him off. And you had been avoiding him, and that was making it even worse. That was, until lunch time came and he figured out why. As he walked in the hallway with Kirishima, he grumbled a bit. “What’s wrong, Bakubro? You seem angrier than normal.” Kirishima said, looking at his friend. “What’s going on with Y/N? Why the fuck are they avoiding me lately?” he growled out, only loud enough for Kirishima to hear. “Oh… You don’t know?” he said, rubbing the back of his neck. “Er…” he said, stopping in his tracks right in front of the courtyard window. Bakugou frowned and stopped as well, “Know fucking what?!” he snapped, but then he saw it. Right outside the window, there you were, sitting on Izuku’s lap with his stupid scarred arms wrapped around you. He knew it was you, there was no mistaking you for anybody else. His palms started to pop as he growled, “Fucking Deku? They’re with Deku?!” he said, snarling as he started to stomp down the hall. Kirishima grabbed his arm, but he pulled it away and kicked the door open. Kirishima sighed and ran after him, but inwardly he grinned to himself that the plan of fake dating Izuku was working to get Bakugou riled up. That idiot needed a push to admit he had feelings for you.

Y/N POV**

“Get the fuck off of Deku like that!” Bakugou snarled as he got closer, grabbing your arm and yanking you off of Izuku’s lap. He held you close as you stood there, rather shocked. Even if the plan was working, you really had not expected it to work like this. Izuku blinked, frowning before he stood up, “What’s your problem, Kacchan? Don’t take Y/N away like that. We were having a good time,” he said, holding out a hand for you. As you began to reach out, Bakugou smacked your hand down before grabbing it himself. “No, you’re fucking not! Not anymore,” he growled. He was not going to lose you to Deku, of all people. “Who gave you that right? Do you even like Y/N? You’re always such a jerk to them!” Izuku snapped, grabbing you from Bakugou’s grip and taking you back into his arms. “I fucking love Y/N!” he shouted, panting softly from the anger rising then suddenly crashing down. “I… I really fucking love you, Y/N…” he said, looking at you with the softest crimson eyes you had ever seen from the blond boy. You swallowed hard. You had not expected it to be that deep of a confession. Tears welling up in your eyes, you begin to sob, making Izuku loosen his grip on you. “Do.. Do you hate me that much?!” Bakugou said, his voice angry and tense, scared. “N-No,” you choke out, leaving Izuku’s arms and going to Bakugou, wrapping your arms around his waist as you sob into his chest. “I love you too,” you manage between sobs. “Then why are you dating Deku?!” he demanded, but his arms found their way around your shoulders, having dreamed of holding you like this for so long. “I-I’m not,” you sniffle, looking into his eyes, “I never said I was.” you add. Bakugou looks up at Izuku who shrugs, then looks towards Kirishima, who.. Isn’t there anymore. “THAT FUCKING SHITTY HAIR!” Bakugou shouted, making you wince a bit. He instantly froze and his shoulders relaxed a bit, still holding you. “He.. made it sound like you two were together and then I saw you.. On his damn lap and I…” he said, growling as he glared at Izuku. Izuku looked away, rubbing the back of his neck, “Kacchan… You needed a push… It was obvious you like Y/N… so…” he said before laughing awkwardly and running off, activating his full cowling to get as far away as possible. “What the fuck!” Bakugou growls, looking at you, “Was this some stupid fucking plan?” he asked, obviously irritated. “It wasn’t stupid. It worked,” you retorted, before your eyes widened, “Er…” “You better run, because you’re definitely getting punished if I catch you,” he growled out, his quirk going off in his palm. “B-But I thought we were dating now?” you stutter out, stepping back. “Oh, we are, but now you’re going to be held to certain standards,” he said with a smirk, his quirk going off in larger explosions now. “Ah,” you say before kissing his lips and turning tail to run, dashing off into the hallway as he stood there, looking dumbfounded by your very first kiss together. “GET BACK HERE, DUMBASS!” he yelled as he finally snapped out of it, chasing after you.

Okay, Inko is such a precious sweetheart and she’s probably been through a lot raising her son on her own. and even now that he’s older it’s hard for her. I mean Izuku got a quirk out of nowhere and got hurt a l o t during the sports festival, and the whole situation just seemed to get to her.

Having gone through all that she would be completely understanding of your situation and more than happy to help!! She’ll read the text and that’s more than enough for her She will bring some food that she made for you as well as the baby to save you some time and energy.

When she gets to your house and sees your state, she’ll obviously be worried but this won’t make her think any differently of you. She will take over for a little so you can rest, take a nap, take a walk, do anything to relax a little bit because Inko knows how much you need it in times like this. And if you dare get back up she won’t hesitate to send you back to your room to rest.

“No y/n, you need rest! The girls are asleep now and if they wake up I’ll make sure to get them.” also, she would probably have all kinds of tips and tricks to help the two with anything really. sleeping, eating, you name it.

While she can understand that Izuku is very busy with all of his hero work, she also thinks that parenting is something that shouldn’t be done alone. Not that she thinks you’re incapable of taking care of your two angels, but she thinks he needs to spend time with them too, and not just the fun times. So,,, she’d probably slightly scold her son when he gets back and Midoriya will obviously feel bad already, but he didn’t get how hard things were for you. And knowing that at some point you’ll have to work too, he will try helping more and more. Thanks Inko :D

Bakugou Katsuki

Mitsuki is,,,, kinda harsh at times, but somehow she’s just a complete sweetheart around you. The fact that someone is willing to put up with her gremlin probably seemed like a lie to her at first lmao (but then again her husband married her so…)

Anyway, since she adores you and of course loves son too, she just shows it differently, she will be extremely willing to help you out. Having raised Katsuki, she is probably used to a lot. Not that she will make fun of you for asking help, she just knows exactly how to help out.

And of course the state you’re in doesn’t surprise her. Without asking she is already helping, putting the girls to bed, cleaning up the house wherever it’s needed etc, but she won’t let you rest for too long. Now don’t get me wrong, of course she’s not going to let you do the whole house while you’re exhausted. But after some rest, she will help with certain things, like showing how to change diapers easier, she will give tips she used herself when she raised Katsuki.

And Masaru, Bakugou’s dad, will also come to help probably. He will make sure that you still get to rest and will also tell Mitsuki if she cannot tell that you’re tired. And he won’t judge you either! While Mitsuki had to deal with one big hothead, Masaru had and still has to deal with two, so he knows it get exhausting at times. he might even offer to stay longer.

And oh boy, when your husband gets home and sees his parents, he’s confused at first. When he sees his mother’s face, he knows he in big trouble. she will give him a big big scolding on how he needs to be there more for you, whereas you both know katsuki already does a lot, it’s just hard with his job as a pro hero. Masaru will quickly interfere

“Come on everyone, the girls will wake up if you keep yelling.” and of course you’ll say that Katsuki already does a lot, it’s just hard as new parents as well as with the fact that there are two babies to take care of instead of one. But your parents in law will always be there to help!

Togata Mirio

Now, I don’t really know much about Mirio’s parents, but I will assume they’re very similar to him. So honestly, these two are literal angels. They love you and they love that you made their son happy. They probably adore your two girls so when you text them they will be more than happy to help you out.

They won’t even notice your state, and by that I don’t mean that they don’t see you aren’t feeling well, but they don’t think weirdly of you at all. They’ll come to your house to help immediately and won’t let you get off of the couch for a while. They make sure the babies sleep, play with them, and the whole time both have bright smiles on their faces.

if you feel better and you really look like you feel better, they will let you have the kids too of course, I mean they’re your daughters. But they also want you to get rest, as they completely understand that it gets tiring. Also, i feel like they’d compliment you a lot on how you’re doing really well and that they’re proud of both Mirio and you.

Mirio’s parents will even offer to stay for longer if you need to, and they will also tell you that if you ever need some alone time, you can leave the girls at their house! or they could come here too, they won’t mind.

BnHA Fics I’ve Read This Week 1

I read and review a lot of fics, every week. Here is the list from last Friday, to today. Let me know if I should I do this next week.

Bloom in Winter - God linking all the art for this was a bitch in my google document, but worth it. In this uncompleted and seemingly abandoned twelve chapter fic where Midoriya is forced to work with villains with his analytical abilities. The story picks up when he finds out that he’s going to have to infiltrate UA as a General Studies student in order to find a way to help kill his idol, All Might.

The Sun in My Eyes - This is a MomoJirou fic where the two girls meet at a young age and slowly fall in love as they grow up together. A fast read, and really cute.

Trust Fall - This is a cute little fic that I think is supposed to end on a note of a possible relationship between Shinsou and Midoriya. Basically, the 2A addition to the UA Cultural Festival is a cat café, and while chasing one down both Midoriya and the cat he was chasing end up stuck in a tree, and it’s Shinsou to the rescue.

What’s She Got That I Don’t? - This is a one-shot where we see Kirishima tell Bakugou that he has a crush on him. Getting rejected, he expected that. What he didn’t expect was for Bakugou to turn around and ask out Uraraka the very next day. This one-shot was good, but painful at times.

I. Shaky Hands - This is the beginning of rexcorvidae’s incomplete Whumptober Series. I did not review every single piece of this series, but it does kick off with a very good start. Dadzawa to the rescue when he realizes that - with all the damage that Midoriya’s done to them - his problem child can’t use a pen well, or a pair of chopsticks.

[Because this was a series of unconnected stories, I will be putting each one that I reviewed after this]

III. Delirium - Midoriya gets sick out of the blue in the UA dorms, attacks some students in his delirious state, and collapses. The whump is just spectacular and I love any story that features a character that thinks their friends are their enemies

IV. Human Shield - While taking Midoriya out for ice cream, he and Yagi get attacked. His brilliant solution to save his mentor? Jump in front of the bullet and almost die. There is some good Dad Might in this fic.

VII. Isolation - Warning, this fic deals with Suicidal Ideation. Basically, what would happen if Midoriya took Bakugou’s middle school taunting as far as it could have gone. It ends with him standing on a roof, read at your own risk.

XV. Scars - Midoriya has scars from the years of violent bullying that he went through and they don’t go unnoticed by his mentor. On the other side of the coin, Midoriya doesn’t want to tell Yagi who did it because he knows that if the people who tormented him don’t get to slide into being the heroes that they don’t deserve to be, they could be terrible villains. I honestly love this fic, it deserves everything.

XVI. Stitches - This is an AU where Nighteye finds Midoriya at a pretty young age, sees the sort of analytical work that he can do, and has him intern at his office [and holds onto his notebooks for him, since there’s a lot of dangerous information in there, even if Midoriya doesn’t understand that when they first meet]. This story takes place a few years into that internship, when Midoriya collapses at work after the stitches he put in himself after another round of violent assault from his classes gets infected.

XVIII. Muffled Screams - The last fic in this series that I reviewed, and it is a painful one, quite literally for Midoriya. In this story, he has been kidnapped, and he has one job. Don’t scream. Of course, this is difficult as he gets tortured, but he has to, because the villain promises that if he makes a noise, someone he cares about will die. We see this from the live feed that is being broadcast of the torture, with Yamada, Aizawa, and Yagi.

Is it the Thunder in the Distance - This is a good little one-shot featuring Yagi spending the night at the Midoriya household and finding his successor sleeping on the floor right outside of his room. All in all, this is a very good fic and I like it a lot. Note, the actual name of the fic is much longer, but I am not writing the entire thing out again.

If I’m Losing Again, Quiet Me Down - This takes place during the Stain Arc, when Midoriya is sitting in the hospital with Todoroki and Iida. While calling around to make sure that people know that he’s okay, he ends up having a panic attack. There is a soft ending to this one.

I’ll Carry You Home - This was a debut fic for the author on Ao3, and it features Yagi carrying an exhausted Midoriya home after a long day of training. Most adorably, he accidentally calls his mentor “dad,” and when Midoriya wakes up enough to realize what he said there is a lot of apologizing. All in all a cute story.

Growing Like You - This is a short one-shot featuring Midoriya finding out that one of the side affects of his new Quirk is that he’s growing, fast and a lot. Trying to find him something to wear, Yagi ends up stumbling across a box of his old UA clothes, and he gives it to Midoriya.

Feelings of a Fanboy - This is one of those “What if Midoriya had a Quirk” stories, and they are some of my favorite kinds of fanfics out there. In this one, his power is called Emotional Rush. Basically, the more he feels, the stronger and faster he gets. This goes up to right around/before the Stain Arc.

Father’s Day - This is a fic that features Hisashi Midoriya not really being around and Yagi stepping into the paternal role in Midoriya’s life, something that they both seem to need.

Define “Villainy” - This is more or less a crack fic where Tsuyu realizes that literally no one in her class has tried to stop her from straight up attempting to murder Mineta, and they will probably continue to let her because no one in the class actually likes him.

Anything, Anything - This is a fic that I already recommended to someone, and it is so good. This is a fic that features eventual TodoDoriya, where the two of them keep running into each other in the UA Dorms common room whenever they wake up from nightmares.

Those Hardest to Love Need it the Most - This is a Dadzawa fic where Aizawa finds out that Midoriya was extremely mistreated at his middle school and opens up an investigation in hopes of taking the place down for Quirk discrimination.

All the Signs - This is a crack fic for what I consider a bit of a crack ship, Huyumi. Basically, Fuyumi gets pregnant with Hawks’ kid and starts acting a little... bird like. The author, ohmytheon, is fantastic and I have read so much of their stuff.

Come Home - This fic breaks my entire heart. This is a story where Touya and Fuyumi Todoroki are twins, two halves of the same whole. This goes through their childhood together, right up to the end where Fuyumi watches Touya being Dabi on TV and refuses to rat him out. She just wishes that he would come back.

Who Will Protect Them - USJ 2.0, taking place when 1A has become 3A. After getting slammed into a wall and not being able to get back up, Aizawa wonders who’ll protect his class, before realizing that they’re more than keeping their own. He’s proud... and he’ll be even more proud if he survives this.

Darken Your Door - This is a fic that deals with neglect, emotional abuse, and manipulation. While on a run to a corner store with Midoriya, Aizawa gets to meet his students estranged father. It doesn’t take long for him to realize that his student is extremely uncomfortable around his parent. From then on he wraps Hisashi Midoriya in more red tape than he’ll be able to get out from under. No one talks to his students unless his students want to hear from that person.

Mouth Shut (Eyes Down) - A story in which Midoriya does not trust adults because they were the ones that let Bakugou and the rest of his bullies get away with assaulting him. He accidentally admits this to Aizawa after being stabbed when he thought he could “handle” getting stalked.

A Touch of Hope - This is technically a soulmates fic, where you find your soulmate after physical contact. Shinsou was not expecting to find his at UA, nor was he expecting that it would give him an opportunity to join the Hero Course if he can prove himself.

Voiceless - This is a shorter fic, only 1K, and it features Midoriya losing his voice when he gets sick and Shinsou taking care of him. It’s pretty cute.

Creating Music - This is a three chapter fic taking place over two days, the day before and the day of Valentine’s Day. This is a MomoJirou fic that is really cute and sentimental. I love it so much.

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year - In this fic, Midoriya is a dumbass and Shinsou finds his crush stuck to a pole by his tongue. He is not wearing a coat, and he has been stuck like this for a long time.

Hook, Line, and Sinker - This is a great EraserMic fic in a Quirkless AU, where Aizawa thinks that his tinder date it a catfish because there is no way internationally famous singer Hizashi Yamada just matched with him. Note, there is smut in either the second or third chapter.

Ask Me No Questions, I’ll Tell You No Lies - This is a silly little fic where Shinsou and Midoriya share a hotel room. Before you ask, there are two beds. There is a kiss, but that’s about it. A little OOC for Midoriya, but still pretty good.

Shinsou the Local Cryptic - This is a fic where Shinsou becomes an internet meme of his own creating. It’s honestly pretty fun, and I had a good time with this one-shot.

You Anchor Me Back Down - This is a one-shot with some fun art in it. When Todoroki is hit with a random Quirk that causes him to float whenever he’s happy, it’s difficult for him to keep his crush on Midoriya a secret. This takes place during their third year.

Cosmic Confluence - Wonderful Shinsou-Centric fic where he’s a reaper and it’s his job to watch over Izuku Midoriya until he dies. I wish that there was more of this fic that I could read because the idea of this is so interesting.

Todoroki’s Relationships Analysis Part 7: Chapter 169-now. Culture Fest, Pro Hero, JTA, MLA & Winter Internship arcs.

(SPOILERS TO NOW)

Culture Festival Arc

The new, party person post retake arc Shoto

Shoto’s retake course has helped to change his perspective on things a little, and understand the value of fun a little bit more (which is what this arc is all about)

He remains critical towards Bakugou here, though Katsuki definitely starts it.

Or more accurately, the rest of the school starts it by acting like Class A asked to get attacked by crazy supervillains. Bakugou initially in this scene seems like he’s being a jerk, but he’s actually having one of his moments of kindness and empathy, as he defends his classmates from the rest of the school, and Shoto stops criticizing him once that lands.

Shoto spends most of the CF arc hanging around twith this group, whom he mostly gets along with on the level of fairly normal friendship, so there isn’t much to say about these scenes.

We see Shoto to be the most concerned classmate about Deku’s wellbeing, probably because he’s learned by this point that an unavailable Midoriya probably means he’s breaking his body in two.

He watches Izuku getting scolded by the teachers.

And hangs out with Iida during the Culture Fest event itself. (Iida is the universal bro)

Culture Fest Shoto is still fairly quiet, but much more sociable than before. He suggests throwing a big party for the school, which should probably tell you that he’s a very different kid from the start of the year.

Pro Hero Arc

This arc is mostly about Shoto’s relationship with his dad, though we get a quick glimpse of his classmates looking after him when the fight plays on TV.

Four classmates are specifically watching Shoto. Now, while Kiri and Shoto do have a friendship, Kiri is generally the “glue that holds the class together”, so essentially, he was written to be the kid who always looks after his teammates. The other 3 are Shoto’s 3 main ships: Bakugou, Deku, and Momo.

Though just about everyone comes over to him afterwards.

Included because how can you not.

joint Training Arc

Sero and Shoto sure have come a long way since “nice try” huh? And yes, Earlyroki is the phrase I want to use too.

Shoto is focused on watching Yaoyorozu’s fight.

He showcases some understanding of Momo’s tactical expertise and confidence in her ability to win. He believes that only a total assault on her could have been sufficient to actually defeat Momo.

He looks worried for Momo after she loses and states firmly that he “hopes she doesn’t get all discouraged again”, recalling her previous sadness and worrying for her in the future.

We see a moment of Todoroki and Bakugou being on the same wavelength here, as following the above panel Shoto immediately does just that.

Tetsutetsu pushes Todoroki to the point where he has to use way too much firepower. However, his team still loses/ties.

He has a Deku-like moment and this triggers his actions in the next arc (tears at BabyTodo in the left hand panel.)

This is his reaction to BlackWhip. He goes over to Deku after the JTA is over and after Deku’s training session with Bakugou and All Might and asks him directly, indicating he thinks Izuku has two powers.

Clearly, Shoto felt a bit betrayed that Deku asked him to go all out but was apparently holding back himself. I wish we could’ve had Shoto’s thoughts while the whole thing was going on.

He instantly believes Midoriya and doesn’t think to question this strange development. He compliments him as well, showing that Deku has joined Momo and Kacchan’s ranks as someone Shoto admires. Deku shoots right back at him.

Shoto, having tied while Deku and Kacchan, his two Official Rivals, both won with a complete knockout, obviously feels like they’ve surpassed him. This is, basically, his equivalent (though less angsty) to Bakugou at the end of the PLE arc, feeling completely surpassed by everyone.

The Joint Training arc sees, to Shoto, his classmates surpassing him, and spurs him to decide and seek out Endeavor as a Utility. We see his admiration for Momo, Kacchan and Izuku on full display.

MLA Arc

Newly minted Licensed heroes Todoroki and Bakugou are here to save the day Together!

They’re referring to each other as “we” and working together to end the villains.

Shoto’s showing concern for Kacchan, who as usual takes all concern for his wellbeing as an insult. (and as usual makes everything about Deku. Holy crap, was that really as powerful as the Sports Fest move?!?! They’ll have to bust out some sick animation for that).

Winter Internship Arc (up to present chapter, Chapter 250)

So Todoroki and Kacchan work together well. Are they friends? What does Shoto think of their relationship? His self-definition is that they get along well.

Todoroki apparently defines friendship as “spending a lot of time together”. Bakugou objects to this. Todoroki basically calmly insists that they get along anyway.

Shoto’s motto of heroism here is that he wants “to put others at ease’. We’ve got his manifesto as to heroism laid out here.

This is funny, yes, but also kinda heartbreaking. Shoto is incredibly awkward in his interview and doesn’t seem to understand that he’s being flirted with. It’s possible he doesn’t have much conception of what romance, flirtation and attraction even are. This is a facet I’d like to see explored more in shipping fics, actually, because any idea of Shoto as some smooth charmer with great flirting skills should be heavily dispelled by this instance.

Although he’s talking about his dad here, the words could just as easily apply to Midoriya.

Shoto instantly apologies to Katsuki, taking it as his fault that Bakugou was cut, because he’s not socially adept enough to get that Bakugou’s behavior is inappropriate. While one doesn’t have to, you could take Bakugou’s reply as him relieving Shoto of feeling guilty by telling him it wasn’t his fault. Just in Bakugou-speak.

Deku’s 3 most popular ships watch him try and conquer his quirk. Or is this in his head?

Some nervous solidarity between Shoto and Izuku, + bonus Jealous Bakugou.

ChristmasTodo notices Bakugou feeling down.

And immediately offers him and Deku internship jobs with the #1. Shoto’s motives her deserve some consideration. He states later on that he sees Endeavor, as far as regards his career as a pro, in a utilitarian manner. He views him as a means to an end for success (outside of their past and family drama, obviously). So Shoto is, essentially, offering Deku and Kacchan the best possible internship opportunity he can, even though it involves asking his old man for a favor. That’s some serious supportive friendship power right there.

Endeavor complains about having to teach all 3 but Shoto shuts him down quickly.

He agrees with Bakugou that Endeavor’s dismissive attitude is not what they signed on for or what he promised Kacchan.

Todo and Kacchan are again on the same wavelength here and act like they both find Deku’s constant chatter annoying.

In his big speech to Endeavor, he states that “competing with these guys” before correcting himself and trying to include the rest of his classmates in that estimation. But he ca’t take back that initial impulse. Deku and Kacchan are placed first in his estimation. They are the first ones he thinks of. And both, as well. It’s very clear that Deku and Kacchan (Twin Stars of class A indeed) changed his life. Thinking about it too...he didn’t immediately use fire after his match with Deku. It wasn’t until he hurt Bakugou by holding back and lost hte match that he really started to change.

“IN front of my friends”. Shoto again points out that he came her to use Endeavor, regardless of feelings. He insists on being treated the same as Deku and Kacchan, and tells Endeavor not to pretend to be dadlike to him in front of them. This impulse is interesting too. He doesn’t wish to present any kind of lie to these two.

Shoto pays a lot of attention to Kacchan and actually smiles when Bakugou calls Endeavor’s power a “rip-off” of Bakugou’s own explosion quirk. I guess he likes the chance to insult dear ol dad.

When Deku and Kacchan are both in a bad mood, Shoto plays supportive cheerleader.

He’s totally cool with the invitation.

He shows again some understand of (and criticism of) Deku.

This is where Todoroki comes to understand that Katsuki knows about his situation with Endeavor. Interestingly enough, while Deku is the one he told, he hasn’t shown any inclination to add more to that knowledge since the Sports Festival.

Deku shows some incredible understanding of Shoto’s mind here and supports his decision with Endeav either way. Shoto’s expression is astonished, as if he had never thought of his situation this way before.

He immediately opens up to Deku and Kacchan about Toya with Fuyumi’s help; once again, both know Shoto’s backstory.

He also reaches out to get the recipe from Fuyumi to give to Bakugou. Always the caring, considerate friend.

Presumably she doesn’t thank Bakugou too because he keeps insisting he totally isn’t friends with Shoto. Shoto looks so adorably embarassed here.

He’s solicited as a study buddy for Deku, and for now (until Friday) this is where we leave them. Jumping forward to save Natsuo.

So this retrospective on Todoroki’s relationships - Todoroki’s relationships only, from his POV alone - was interesting. And very informative, as it changed my perspective on Shoto’s character dynamics a lot. reactions to the bnha: heroes rising film

spoilers alert !

(i risked coronavirus to go to the cinema for this but no regrets because we all want to die anyway oof-)

the film was very 1a centred & that’s gr8 and all especially since we got to witness the bond they had between them & just. how incredibly amazing their teamwork is

but i really ,,, miss,,, aizawa (my fave, my tru love)

he had a total of 3 (?) scenes, each of them lasting like less than 10 secs - even toshinori had more scenes than that : (

but you know who even had less screen time (aka none),,, our boy,,, the valid purple son,,,, shinsou hitoshi : (

the person who had the most screen time was this new villain called nine and i really wanna yell begone thot at him because he was like “i want to create a utopia where the powerful rules” and i was like thinking,, yo that shit sounds like capitalism & neoliberalism

his character design was really pretty, but it didn’t make up for his ideology that came outta nowhere with no backstory - so it was really hard to empathise/sympathise

what makes a villain good is 1) sufficient backstory 2) being so damn predictable and familiar that you actually prefer them over every other new villain because better the devil you know than the devil you don’t know

anyway, what really slaps is kacchan’s fuckin character development !!

lil gremlin is still gremlin but ,, he’s working with other kids,, he’s minimising damage done to the area while fighting villains,, there was a scene of him all calm and shit while eavesdropping on izuku and katsuma (which once again proves that most of his anger is just a front he puts up in front of other people rather than a perpetual state, and ya know what, i love that introvertedness that he has),,, him being protective over the bakusquad and not blasting kaminari for teasing him,,, he and izuku fighting together like a hero duo ,,,, eye-

this movie really said bakugo character development hUH

anyway in the beginning when endeavour showed up and dabi and endeavour had this whole showdown with their fire quirks and we got this close up of endeavour’s thicc thighs and i was like : ) we don’t stan for this here but at the same time i was like @ hawks damn ur daddy really be like that, huH

which reminds me of my whole spiel about dabi/hawks and endeavour/hawks : ‘ )

but yea. dabi was unfairly attractive and i just want death to consume me

okay so the plot was like,, the hero commission (aka the dodgy ass institution): how about sending the 1a kids to an island where there are no active heroes ??

so the 1a kids get yeeted off to an island,, and they are having fun helping the locals out !! (this is the wholesome content we all deserve)

also i love how izuku is established as the image of hope (the saviour) and kacchan is established as the image of victory (the victor) - this whole “win to save” and “save to win” really got laid down really heavily

Yay, the dadhcs get a new section, it seems! XD

Izuku: two kids, a girl and a boy

- he would be a.... how to put it? Bad but good father?

- he is working all the time to protect those people around the world from really nasty villains and he seldom has the time to really come down and play with his kids

- but he leaves little notes for them everywhere and tries to at least call them once a day or every two days

- it’s important for him to know that his kids know why he isn’t home as much as he wants and he will rely on his s/o to tell the kids this.

- he tries to be there in the important dates but mostly he misses them

- he will watch a lot of videos his s/o sends him of his kids and he has saved them all on his cellphone AND computer to watch whenever he’s feeling down

- his personal office is plastered with two kinds of photos: Family and Most Wanted.

- when he’s with his kids, he’s the proudest father around but pretty laid back when it comes to success of them. He won’t push them just because they NEED to fulfill a role.

- they can be everything they want. of course not a villain.

Bakugou: twins, boys

- he is actually a good dad, very loud and angry but he loves his kids to bits

- he’s the type of “Go ask your mother”, he has a serious problem with saying No sometimes

- he will leave his boys as they are and doesn’t care much about society. If they want to be pink clad fairies, let them be pink fucking fairies.

- when he comes home after work and his kids come to tell him about their day, he will put them both in the corners of the room, telling them to shut up for an hour. After that he listens to everything they say and will try his best to remember

- the birthday of his kids is his most important date. No wedding anniversary, no other birthday, but this. This day is holy to him and he will take a day off and spend it with them, no matter what.

- say anything vaguely bad about his boys and this man will actually listen. he wants them to be raised right and he will listen to complaints and worries of teachers and so on. If it’s based, he will talk with his boys. If it’s not based, he will tell the person to fuck off. It’s the same with praise for them.

- they can be whatever they want to be. Secretly he hopes that they don’t want to be heroes because he’s worried about them, remembering his own school time.

Iida: a girl

- his family is his pride and he will sometimes go overboard with it, especially when it’s a milestone for her. He will show everyone he knows photos or videos of her first step, her first tooth, her first words, her first... well, everything.

- he will regularly take time off to spend it in three ways: one day is for his partner (cuddling and dates), one is for his daughter (playing tea party and doing whatever she wants) and one is for his family (visiting the grandparents, visiting the zoo, etc)

- his daughter will know why when he’s not around for important things. She will be growing up with the knowledge about the work of a hero and why it’simportant that her dad often is away

- ice skating as a family hobby (at least him and his daughter)

- he is a bit too rash sometimes and it leads to a lot of conflicts when his daughter is growing older

- despite every fight he wants her to know that he loves her and is proud of her and he will often leave notes on her door explaining to her what she did wrong (she hates those notes) and that he still loves her (she won’t admit that she’s happy about it)

Todoroki: a boy and three girls

- even if he doesn’t want it, he might end up like his own father in a few things and his view on him might change a bit

- he will train his kids to understand and use their quirks in a way that won’t be harmful to their bodies

- he’s deadly afraid to lose them and will sometimes wake up in the middle of the night, touring from room to room to check on them

- his office has just one family photo on his desk and it’s from a family picnic with both families involved

- he’s very discreet about his family and tries not to affect the life of his own kids with being too proud or too invasive

- when he comes home after a mission he scoops his family up on the couch and just lays there under a pile of bodies, happy to have them around.

- he doesn’t want his kids to be heroes, telling them that every other job is just as highly respectable in it’s own way.

- he sometimes wonders about his own childhood when he sees Grandpa Endeavor playing with his grandkids, laughing a lot with them and doing stupid stuff for them.

Smooth, Izuku, Very Smooth!

Imagine: being the twin sister of Shoto Todoroki and Izuku having a crush on you. (Your powers are similar to Elsa’s from Frozen, don’t judge, okay!)

Shoto noticed your foul mood on the way to school; it was clear to him why. Since you were his twin, he knew you like the back of his hand and vice versa. Your father hardly paid attention to you and it was because you didn’t have the same quirk as Shoto; it hurts you a lot and it pissed Shoto off. You deserved the affection you wanted and yet your father acted like you rarely existed. It hurt Shoto whenever Father did pay attention to Shoto with you around. He tried his hardest to give Father the cold shoulder and you tried your hardest not to care.

It never worked out very well but Shoto knew you didn’t hold it against him.

But it didn’t make Shoto feel any less guilty, “I’m sorry, Y/N.” Shoto murmured quietly as the neared school.

Your bright blue eyes met his mismatched ones, “Don’t be sorry, big brother,” Shoto’s mouth twitched upwards in amusement; he was only a minute older than you, “One day I’ll be worthy enough for his attention and when that day comes, I’ll tell him to fuck off.” You smirked coldly and it made Shoto laugh.

“I’ll make sure to take a picture of his face,” Shoto replied quietly.

You couldn’t help but chuckle, “At least we have mom’s love, right?” You nudged his shoulder with a fond smile; it had only been a few weeks since the both of you decided to start visiting Mother and it was probably the best thing to happen this year so far. Mother definitely gave plenty of love to the twins’ and rightfully so.

“Of course,” Shoto agreed, “As long as we have her love, that’s all that matters.”

You nodded in agreement to his words and arrived at school a few minutes early, “I wonder what we’ll do today,” You mused softly, “I want to get in some more training. I’ve been working on my special move.”

Shoto sticks to your side as the both of you head to 1-A classroom, “You’re getting a lot stronger every day, Y/N, I think you even surpass me.” Shoto says confidently. You look at your twin with wide, blue eyes and your mouth drops open.

“Absolutely not!” You almost screeched drawing attention onto the both of you; not that you cared, “Shoto, that’s a lie. You’re the strongest out of the both of us and don’t you dare say otherwise!” You didn’t care if your brother was stronger than you; it wasn’t a competition or anything to you or him (though it was to your father, apparently.)

Shoto frowns at you but is cut off by the sound of Mina calling your name excitedly as the both of you enter the classroom. “Y/N-chan!” Mina gives you a tight hug and you smile at your friend, “Shoto-kun.” Mina says formally.

Shoto gives a barely-there smile, “Good morning, Mina-kun.” Shoto says going to his desk.

“We’re sparring today, isn’t that fun?” Mina squeals excitedly.

You look at her with wide eyes, “Really?!” You squeak and she nods excitedly, “Ya hear that, Shoto?” You ask your brother going over to his desk with giant doe eyes, “What if we go against each other?!” Sparring between the Todoroki twins was a spectacle to witness especially since both of you fought each other in the final rounds of the U.A Sports Festival.

Shoto’s eyes lit up ever so slightly but he murmured with a teasing tone, “You’ll probably lose.”

You smirked at the challenge, “Don’t forget that you barely won last time!”

Mina cheered, “Yeah, Y/N-chan almost got you!”

It started a debate with the others present in the room until Aizawa-sensei demanded everyone to be quiet and that class was starting. Mina had heard right because Aizawa-sensei was pairing people up to spar with one another and it had the class buzzing with excitement--especially Bakugou. “Y/N,” Aizawa-sensei called your name finally, “You’ll be sparing with Midoriya.”

Izuku’s heart skipped a beat. His eyes nervously fluttered towards Y/N and he found ocean eyes staring back at him; his heart skipped a beat again. “Don’t go easy on me, Deku-kun, okay?” You smiled brightly at Midoriya and the green-haired boy began to flush wildly.

How was he supposed to go against the one girl in the class he had a crush on? He had seen the fight between Shoto and Y/N; Y/N fighting was as if watching someone ice skate! She was lithe, quick, and graceful when fighting and her hand-to-hand combat was the best out of the whole class! He gulped nervously as his mind raced--how could he compete with the Ice Princess?

Finally, it was time to suit up and go to the training grounds. The class was buzzing with excitement and Midoriya could see you chatting excitedly to Mina, Mom, and Tsuyu. “Nervous?” Shoto asked coolly.

Midoriya jumped startled and instantly started babbling nervously.

Shoto watched Midoriya with concealed amusement, “Don’t go easy on her, she’ll know.” Shoto told him.

Midoriya sighed feeling his nerves buzz wildly, “Why did I have to get paired up with your sister?” Midoriya muttered disheartened. Of course, Shoto knew Midoriya had a massive crush on you; he was pretty sure a lot of their friends knew about it, too. The only person who didn’t know was obviously you--you weren’t always receptive to male attention mostly because Shoto was there to divert that attention.

But Shoto liked Midoriya and respected him; he also knew that Midoriya would respect you and treat you right. Though it was up to you if you wanted to recuperate Midoriya’s feelings. “You’ll do fine,” Shoto answered quietly and wonders if he should give poor Midoriya some much-needed encouragement, “She thinks your cute.” The words sounded weird and Shoto scowled inwardly. What was he doing? Playing Match Maker?

Midoriya’s eyes widened, “R-Really?” His posture was already straightened and his chest puffed out.

Shoto sighed, “Don’t tell her I told you that.”

Midoriya’s green eyes went back to you and he watched you laugh and flip your hair, “Now, I definitely want to go easy on her.” He muttered with a chuckle.

“She’s competitive,” Shoto told him casually, “You let her win and she finds out you were holding back, it isn’t going to be pretty.” Midoriya cringed at the thought. Midoriya had witnessed Y/N’s temper and it had been horrifyingly attractive. Only one pair would spar at a time so the rest of the class could observe and watch. After five sparing matches, it was Midoriya’s and Y’N’s turn. Midoriya swallowed thickly as both students got into position across from each other. Midoriya couldn’t help his teenage brain from thinking how beautiful you looked in your hero costume.

It hugged your lovely curves and your ample bosom so deliciously; it made Midoriya inwardly groan. He shouldn’t be having such thoughts right now! You stood across from him poised gracefully; your lovely eyes were on Midoriya.

His heart began to thump wildly in his chest.

“Go,” Aizawa-sensei commanded tiredly.

Midoriya barely had a chance to register what was going on; one second you were standing some distance from and the next you were gone with a barrage of ice flying at him. Midoriya dodged quickly and you were right there swinging your body elegantly through the air to give him a good kick to the stomach. Midoriya barely dodged that.

You were relentless; Midoriya was overwhelmed! You weren’t using your quirk and neither was he! Your classmates were cheering from the sidelines--some for you and others for Midoriya. “Come on, Deku-kun,” Your soft voice teased as Midoriya successfully parried some of your hand-to-hand moves; you were using your body as a weapon and it was driving Midoriya wild! “Don’t go easy on me because I’m a girl.”

“That’s not what I’m doing! Ugh,” You skated on ice around him and jabbed him in the side and Midoriya jumped away with a wince. He had to think fast on how to fight you but you were a force of nature--not a lot of classmates would last long with you. You were a triple threat and everyone knew it. When it came down to fighting, you were at the top.

“Fine, should I fight like Shoto then?” You demanded getting offended by his lack of offense, “Or should I stop playing with my food?” You grinned at Midoriya who inwardly swooned at such a viciously cute grin. He really needed to focus!

He began to go on the offensive, but you were ready with defensive moves. You out-countered him greatly and he knew it; everyone knew it. Midoriya flipped around you as you tried to lunge at him and his leg came swinging forward. It happened so suddenly and so fast, it had you startled.

You encased yourself in thick ice to cushion the blow but Midoriya’s quirk was insanely strong when used right. The sound of ice exploding rocked the area; your classmates ducked to protect themselves from the rain of ice shards. Midoriya watched as your body spun in the air and you hitting the ground before you jumped on your feet.

“Now, we’re talking,” You had a swallow gash on your cheek but there was a smirk on your face, “Let’s have some fun, Deku-kun.” Midoriya shivered at the sound of your husky voice.

He blinked and you were charging at him; throwing sharp icicles his way; he dodged them and charged at you. He went to kick at you but you threw up a wall of ice; he shattered it but you were gone. He heard you skating behind him on a thin path of ice and countered a kick towards you. You dodged gracefully and tried to get in a few hits but Midoriya was now countering your moves.

He watched as you narrowed your eyes in a delicious manner.

He watched you move your lips; you were muttering to yourself.

You pulled your hands back and pushed them out and huge waves of misty ice blinded Midoriya; you took the chance and flew at him as he attempted to see through the mist. He heard you and dodged the sharp icicles you threw at him and countered your attempts to land hits on his body. He heard you growl through the thick mist. He couldn’t see you very well; your hero costume was made to camouflage you against your ice, but he could just barely see your shadow.

You lunged at him and he grabbed the leg attempting to strike him and before you could encase him in ice, he flung you at the ground. You recovered quickly and gracefully back-flipped away into the mist. Midoriya had to be quick if he wanted to pin you down and win. It went on for minutes; you attempting to strike him through the thicket of icy mist but Midoriya was countering you despite how fast and aggressive you were.

Midoriya heard an attack but instead of dancing around him to tease him, you went at him hard with a fist to the face. Midoriya took the hit because this was what he was waiting for. He knew you were trying to tire him out but he knew how impatient you could be when fighting. Midoriya grabbed you as you were momentarily stunned by the hit he took. Midoriya swept his feet under you and you fell to the ground with a shocked yelp and Midoriya pinned you with his arm on your chest and his weight on that arm; the mist decapitating almost instantly since your focus had been disrupted.

You stared at him dumbfounded; you knew it had been risky going at him so recklessly but your patience had run out before you could tire him out, but he had reacted so quickly! Deku stared at you with wide, shocked eyes. Tiny flecks of ice were in his hair and his face was flustered red and you couldn’t help but think how...handsome he looked.

“You’re so beautiful,” The words left his mouth naturally and before Midoriya could think.

His eyes widened in horror.

Your mouth parted open as you sucked in a breath of cold air.

“Midoriya wins.” Aizawa-sensei’s voice broke the still atmosphere. Your classmates watching with shocked expressions. Shoto’s eyes were watching Midoriya and his twin closely--something had happened. You didn’t have that look on your face for losing and Midoriya looked like he was going to explode. Midoriya was off of you and hurrying away with a horrified expression on his face. Oh god, did I say that? Did I actually say that out loud to her!? Midoriya’s mind screamed at him.

Idiot! You are an idiot!

“Midoriya, are you okay?” Lida-kun asked worriedly but Midoriya brushed by the class and somewhere private to reign in his thoughts.

“You okay, Y/N?” Aizawa-sensei was helping you up.

You nodded still a bit dumbfounded, “Y-yeah, just taken back.”

“What have we said about your impatience?” Aizawa-sensei sighed shaking his head.

You blushed, “I know, I have to work on that.”

The rest of the class was spent with you watching Midoriya and Midoriya avoiding you. Shoto watched unsure what to say or do but he had an idea to stay out of it for now. This was something between you and Midoriya and even though the inner protective brother in Shoto wanted to demand what Midoriya did to his sister, he needed to step back and let fate take it’s a course.

When Aizawa-sensei dismissed the class for the day; Midoriya made a beeline for the door but you were right on his heels but he was creating a sizable distance between the two of you; fed up and annoyed you called his name, “Izuku!” It was a bit improper but you wanted his attention desperately.

Midoriya heard you call his name--it sounded honestly sinful and it made him freeze in place. Curious eyes watched momentarily as you walked up behind Midoriya, “Can we talk somewhere privately?” You asked softly since he had his back to you.

“S-Sure.” Midoriya stuttered as the both of you wandered off the main path and into a dead-end corner. Midoriya was fidgeting and not making eye contact with you. You were hugging your chest with your arms a bit insecure at the moment. “What did you wanna talk about?” Midoriya mumbled nervously.

You bit your lip and blurted out, “Do you want to go out on a date sometime?”

Midoriya froze and looked up at him.

Somehow, you managed a smile even though your nerves were shot and it felt like you were going to puke.

And then that smile died when Midoriya blurted out, “No, sorry! I-I’m not interested in you!” He knew it had been coming which is why he was trying to avoid you, but even though he liked you so much...he couldn’t help but think of your father. He felt his heartbreak because he saw your smile die.

“Oh,” You mumbled softly, “I guess I misinterpreted your comment earlier.” Your body shook; your eyes stung lightly and you felt your chest constrict, “I’m sorry I put in you in such an uncomfortable position, Midoriya-kun.” You said softly with a wavering voice.

Midoriya watched hopelessly as you walked away from him. His mind screamed at him.

You’re a fucking idiot, Izuku!

Why did you say no!?

Oh god, what is Shoto going to do?! He thought more frantically.

Ya know, this wasn’t meant to end up angst-y but it did and am so sorry lmao cause I low-key kinda cried, too.
