The first step is nothing, it is the last step that is hard.

VERY IMPORTANT a dam in the Netherlands, the weerdsluis lock, is directly on a migratory path for spawning fish. They have a worker stationed there to open the door for the fish, but they can take a while to open it. So to keep the fish from getting preyed on by birds they installed a doorbell. Only, the fish don't have hands to ring the doorbell. If you go to their website, they have a LIVE CAMERA AND A DOORBELL that YOU RING FOR THE FISH when they're waiting, and then the dam worker opens the door for them! I can't express how obsessed I am with this. look at this shit. oh my god.
Please check on the fish doorbell once in a while :)

Today I’m taking my last first step away from you. And it’s not because I don’t love you anymore. It’s not because I don’t still miss you. And unfortunately, it’s not even because I love myself more. It’s because I’m starting to fear what it’s doing to me. I have lost myself in trying to wait for you, in trying to love you. I can feel how I’m losing my faith in the world, in people. I’m starting to lose my kindness, my hopeful soul, and my loving heart. And I can’t let that happen. Not even for you. I need to get back to who I was before you had me believe I was worthless. So today, I’m taking my first last step away from you, back towards myself. Goodbye my love.

I admired Disco Elysium fandom from afar for some time now, but I was too intimidated by its quality to post anything. But while doing random scribbles I've got carried away, ended up with this, and I think it's kinda ok???

want some positive world news? yesterday, in a truly historic moment, Colombia elected its first left-wing president. after 20 years of far-right rule, the traditionally conservative country has elected the remarkably progressive candidate Gustavo Petro (and his running mate Francia Márquez, who will be the first black woman to serve as the country's Vice President!)
for context, imagine if the U.S. had successfully elected Bernie Sanders (after 20 years of republican presidents). that's how big a deal this is. amidst a dangerous global rise in conservatism, this is an enormous win and a cause for hope.
