[11:23 pm] Mafia!Sugawara carried you back to the manor in complete silence. You had just scared the absolute shit out of him. One moment a gun was being pointed at him and the next you were standing in front of him, arms stretched out in an attempt to shield him. Though the gun never went off and the perpetrator was apprehended without any injuries, this had to be the scariest situation he’s ever experienced.
“Suga, I’m fine I promise”
He didn’t reply to you as he entered your room, setting you down on your bed. His heart was still beating as hard as it was in that moment, the adrenaline not quite fading yet. Choked words finally fell out of his mouth.
“…Why? Why did you jump in front of me?”
His jaw was clenched and tears were building up in his eyes. Your chest tightened as you reached out to wipe his tears away.
“Is it really that hard to understand? I want to be able to protect you.”
He suddenly pulled away from you and grabbed your wrist, knocking you on your back with him hovering over you. In one swift motion he was leaning down and kissing you, your hands now finding each other slowly clasping together. He pulled away after a few moments, the intense look on his face never fading
“That isn’t your job! I’m part of the mafia! I’ll die one day, ready to repay for my sins but you…you can’t do that!
His hands trembled from both anger and fear as he continued talking.
“It wouldn’t have mattered if I died. But not you, you shouldn’t have jumped in front of me!”
It hurt your heart to hear him talking like this, like his life didn’t matter. Hearing him place such little value on himself while his eyes were filled with tears, it absolutely gripped your heart. Had he always been like this?
“But…it would have mattered if you died, Suga. If I had to go through it again, I would still do the same thing.”
Your eyes pierced him, he felt utterly vulnerable. It was as if you could see through his very being.
“Why, though?”
You smiled and squeezed his hand in yours making him choke on his own breath, “Because I love you.”
With that Suga lost any control he might have had left and kissed you again. He loved you so very much. You were able to give him a home when he felt he had none. You stole his heart and he’d gladly give it to you again if you asked. Hell, he’d burn the world to the ground without a single flame touching you if you simply wished it. He promised himself in that moment that he would always protect you and keep you safe.

something i wrote while i was still in school because i have no motivation <;/3
Tumblr media
written messily with a nearly dried-out, green whiteboard marker was the dilemma sugawara was facing at ten in the morning.
he had bursted into his classroom late and out of breath, loosening his tie and anxiously carding a hand through his unruly hair as he made his way over to his desk, apologizing for his tardiness.
sugawara was a likable teacher, one that graduated students always came back to visit and one that shared the same humor as the kids he taught. he was one of few that made lessons enjoyable and a class students always looked forward to knowing they’d be listening to his humorous lectures. his well liked reputation exempted him from the students’ typical impatience, especially considering that sugawara never called them out on their lates. but they were definitely curious as to what had gotten their favorite laidback teacher so anxious looking.
he looked disheveled as he sorted through papers in his briefcase, trying to organize himself as the time he typically spent doing so before the school bell rang was long past. the students chuckled under their breaths and exchanged looks as their teacher drew out a long sigh. before any of them could ask what exasperated him so, he straightened up and addressed the class. “i screwed up.”
“what happened, sir?” a boy who sat near the back of the classroom called out, and suga’s eyes darted between his students and the whiteboard before he made his way over to write something down. he uncapped an old marker sitting on the ledge, a loud squeak emitting from every line he wrote. he only responded: “we’re doing a poll.”
the students stared curiously at their teacher’s back, craning their heads to make out the words. eventually, he stepped to the side to reveal what he had written.
how do i apologize to my spouse for taking their car keys?
the class was immediately in an uproar.
“you took their keys, sir? that’s why you came late?”
“yes,” sighed sugawara as he walked back toward his desk and collapsed into the leather chair behind it, holding his head against his hand. “i drove all the way back home to return them.”
“they couldn’t take yours?”
he fished around in his pocket with his opposite hand before pulling out two sets of keys. the class let out a sound between a groan and a laugh. “i didn’t realize i already had mine in my jacket.”
“were they late to work?”
“of course they were late.” groaned out sugawara, rubbing his hands down his face.
“were they mad?”
only when suga had arrived at the school building and pulled out your keys to lock his car did his heart drop at the realization of his mistake. he immediately got back into his car and drove the whole 30 minute ride home to return your keys, calling the school to inform them of his lateness. his heart dropped to his stomach when immediately afterward, your contact flashed onto his screen. he hesitantly answered the call, tumbled (practically shouted) out, “i have your keys”, before hanging up, tightening his grip on the steering wheel.
annoyed you definitely were at the inconvenience, but your husband's profuse apologies made it hard to stay angry. you quickly rushed out the door and urged him to return back to school. the guilt was still eating at him, which is why he wanted to do something to make up for the trouble.
underneath the question written on the board were three different options given in response.
flowers
chocolate
all of the above
“your answer is obvious.” another boy called out from the front end of the room before suga could respond to the previous question. the class exclaimed in agreement.
the vote was unanimous, and when you returned home from a long day ready to collapse into bed and laugh at the absurdity of the situation from that morning now that you were no longer in it, you were met with an arrangement of your favorite flowers wrapped in pretty packaging, an assortment of different chocolates, and a goofy (but deadly sincere) apology letter tucked away in the bouquet on your living room table.
and though your irritation had long died out, you certainly weren’t rejecting suga’s smothering affection as you entered your shared bedroom, and you certainly weren’t going to turn down his offer to run you a nice bath as an apology either.

play the game, get the girl
Tumblr media
🎶 now playing: beautiful stranger - laufey
P: Koushi Sugawara x Fem!Reader
S: He sees you during a practice when you walk in with the team manager, late. What he doesn’t expect is to see you standing at the corner of a volleyball court for his games with a red flag in hand, and fall head over heels.
W: mild cursing, cute fluff, lack of knowledge about japanese school system + volleyball, haikyuu spoilers, VERY rushed, possible inaccuracy (i havent watched the show in two years)
N: I do scorekeeping during the volleyball season so I thought this was a cute thing to incorporate with one of the sweetest boys in the series. If the ending seems rushed, it is; I just needed to get something out of my drafts. L/N means last name, Y/N is your first name; this is in order to specify formalities. Apologies for anything that seems incorrect.
please interact if you enjoy!
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Your eyes just begin to flutter shut as the teacher writes lines and numbers on the chalkboard, the sound of it soothing to your ears and almost making you doze off, only for the bell to ring and dismiss you for cleaning time.
You don’t really pay attention when you wipe down the boards or sweep the floors, outside sounds drowned out by your own thoughts while you do your unspoken assigned job that everyone is aware of, which is how you manage to not bump into people.
The classroom door opens as you finish cleaning, the rest of the girls in your ‘group’ leaving while the boys gawk at your friend standing by the entrance. “Y/N, come with me. The team has practice and I need someone to testify why I’m late.” You nod, tossing an eraser into the bucket by the teacher’s desk.
“Hey, put this back!” A boy shouts, him goofing off earlier and getting barely any work done. “You can put it back when you’re done. I have work to do.” You say, shutting the door swiftly before walking to the gym with Kiyoko. It would make sense for her to come to you to be a witness for her tardiness, since you could come up with lies on the spot that people were gullible enough to believe.
The whole practice stops at the sound of the gym doors opening, Kiyoko holding the door open for you to follow behind. One of the coaches, seemingly, yelled from where he was in the gym at the two of you. “Where’ve you been? You interrupted practice!” Kiyoko looks down at the floor, a small pang of guilt hitting you seeing her embarrassment. “She had to do a make up test before clean up! Cut her some slack!” Your voice booms, the coach wanting to say something but going back to doing his job, as if he was intimidated.
Sure, there were still a few eyes on you; you could sense it, but you couldn’t care less since your friend muttered a quiet ‘thank you’ before she began to focus on the practice rather than the gym floor.
The sound of squeaky shoes and intense running and hitting filled the gym, along with the occasional cheer, call, or scream. Then came water break, Kiyoko getting up and passing the boys their bottles, which impressed you given the fact she knew who’s bottle belonged to who and what they looked like. Some of them didn’t even have names written on.
“Could you pass me that bottle?” A boy asks, standing in front of you with a finger pointed at a bottle that was practically prone to knocking over. You wonder why he wouldn’t grab it himself, but then remembered misinterpretation if someone were to look over at a certain angle. He mutters a ‘thanks’ with a smile, wiping his sweat off with a towel that hung around his neck. “Watch this for me?” You nod at his request, someone yelling right after.
“Oi, Suga! Stop flirting with the girl and get back on the court!” The boy with the shaved head yells, Suga’s face going slightly red as his teammates giggle while he runs back to his position.
To be fair, he seemed like a nice guy, being wary of your personal space and asking you to grab something rather than having you assume that he was going to touch you inappropriately. A small act that you held onto before remembering you had to go home.
Suga saw you whisper something to Kiyoko, handing her his bottle before you left the gym. He talked to her before leaving, the feeling he used to get while being able to talk to her not sending his heart racing. “She had to go home.”
“Then how come she came with you?”
“I needed an excuse since I was late.”
She handed him his water bottle before helping the juniors to take down the nets. Tanaka scared him once everyone was back in their club room, patting his older teammate on the back a little too hard before slinging an arm around his shoulder. “Lucky bastard! Did ya’ flirt with her?”
Her, being Kiyoko. “No. She just gave me my water bottle.”
“The bottle the other girl watched for you, huh? She must’ve gotten bored not seeing you on the court.”
“She’s pretty. No wonder she’s friends with Shimizu.” Asahi chimed, the door opening to reveal the juniors standing there, tired. “Are you guys talking about L/N?” The seniors look at Hinata, befuddled. “You know her?” Daichi asks. “I run into her sometimes at Sakanoshita. She’s usually talking to Coach there.”
“What do they talk about? How do you even know her name?” Suga asks, tidying up his things. “I overheard him say L/N. At least, I think that’s her name. Apparently she’s been doing volleyball related things outside of school, and Coach asks her about it. Teams, players, I don’t remember what else.” Tsukishima scoffs. “What are you, some kind of stalker?” Hinata fumes and tries to pounce on the blonde before being held back by Tanaka.
“I haven’t seen her on the girls team. What could she be doing?” Daichi ponders aloud, bag slinging over his shoulder. “I pass by her sometimes, and I have a class or two with her, but she doesn’t speak unless spoken to.” Suga says.
“You haven’t said hi?” Asahi stands by the door with Daichi, waiting for his other friend. “Today was a lucky circumstance.” Suga slings his bag in over his shoulder, leaving the room last out of the three of them.
“Suga’s got a thing for Kiyoko’s friend!” Tanaka yells, the last thing that Suga hears before the door shuts behind them.
He sighs, his two friends giggling for a reason he was too tired to decipher.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
“How’s my team? Pretty good, yeah?” Ukai asked as you look a long sip from your milk carton, shrugging. “I’ll see you at your match against Tokonami.” He cocks an eyebrow, wondering how you know their opponent. “You’re on the sheet?” You shake your head, the sound of the door of the shop sliding open, followed by Ukai yelling out a loud greeting. “Flag. I’m not cheating you guys points for free meat buns.”
Ukai’s eyes move from you to the person who just entered. “Skipped breakfast again, Suga?” Your eyes widen at the name, head turning to see him standing right beside you, waiting. “Couldn’t pack anything for later, and I’m busy during lunch break.” Suga says before noticing you leaning over the counter. He lets out a sheepish ‘hi’ with a bow before you bow back, exchanging some cash for his lunch.
“Suga.” Ukai calls, the boy’s head perking up at the sound of his name. “Take L/N with you. She’s gonna be late to school again because she keeps ‘forgetting to keep track of the time’.” Sarcasm slips off Ukai’s tongue as he makes fun of you, your mouth spewing one-sided insults back at him as you follow Suga out of the shop.
It’s mostly an awkward silence for the first few minutes of the walk, the urge to drown yourself in your own thoughts there, but something’s holding you back from doing it. “How are you so close with Coach?” Suga asks. The formality being used off the court surprises you, but it’s probably better than just calling him Ukai.
“He found out I worked in volleyball games outside of school. It’s all we ever talk about, really.” Suga’s head perks up. “You play?” The question has you struggling to answer. “Not necessarily. I’ll be at your Interhigh match.” The lack of detail makes him want to ask about you more, but is worried that he’d be prying if he were to ask.
“Do you have practice after school today? Kiyoko might ask me to go with her again.” The boy nods with a closed lip smile. “How come you left early?” Suga asked, the answer Shimizu gave lacking detail. “The invite was… sudden. I had plans and couldn’t stay for long. I would’ve stayed for a little bit longer.” You half-lie. “And you’re coming? Today?” Suga confirms. This time you nod, approaching the gates of the school.
“I’ll see you then?” He says, half question half statement. “Yeah. See you.”
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
“Suga!” You walk up to him in the halls, seeing him with two boys you also saw at his practice; one with short hair and the other with his tied up. “I had an extra and I know you didn’t pack lunch, so…” You hand him a bottle of ice tea, the gesture making your face heat up unknowingly to your peer. He smiles, taking it from you.
“Thanks, L/N. I needed this. I have to talk to these two for the rest of break.” He gestures to his friends, who you now realize they’ve been looking at you the whole time. “That’s what you’re so busy with?” Suga shrugs, taking a sip from the bottle. “Duty calls.” He jokes, bowing before retreating into the mostly empty room behind him.
The run-in has Daichi and Asahi pestering their friend about you later that day before practice. “She knew you didn’t have lunch? And she had a whole extra bottle of tea? No way this wasn’t planned.” Daichi exclaimed, Suga chuckling at his friend. “We ran into each other this morning. She was talking to Coach, and she’s watching our game next week.”
“Eh?! Did you invite her?” Asahi asks, surprised at Suga’s supposed boldness. “She said she works in volleyball games, whatever that means.” The gym doors open to reveal the antennae being set up, you at the farther end. Coach Ukai was at the other, adjusting the height before hooking it on to the bottom of the net.
“L/N!” Suga calls, sending you a wave when you look his way. You wave back, double checking the antennae before going to check the other, sliding it down a little bit. “You set it up all by yourself?” He asks. “Mostly. I came a little earlier since I had nothing else to do after cleaning. Kiyoko and Ukai came in after I set up the poles.”
You hand him his bottle. “Kiyoko told me to refill this for you.” He takes a quick sip from the bottle before responding. “Thanks. Where is she, anyways?” You shrug. “Refilling the rest. I don’t know why she only gave me yours.” Suga lets out a soft chuckle, giving you a pat on the shoulder before putting it down on the bench.
“What the hell was that, Suga?” Daichi sneers, letting out a laugh at the end. “I don’t know, it just happened! Impulse decision?” Asahi pat his grey haired friend on the shoulder mockingly, Suga brushing his friend’s hand off. “Stop that.” He muttered.
“What are they laughing about?” Kiyoko says after coming out of nowhere, startling you after standing behind you since who knows when. “I don’t know.” You answer, sitting down on the bench with your friend after the boys go on the court. “Have you ever thought about managing?” Kiyoko asks, eyes focused on the boys warming up.
“I have. I’d be too busy; it’d conflict with my work schedule, you know that. Besides, we’re both graduating this year and asking me to manage seems… pointless.” She lets out a sigh that seems to drown out Ukai’s yelling. “I know. I’m… struggling a little bit to find someone to replace me.” You give her a nudge. “Have you talked to the first years yet?” She shakes her head. “Only second. I should’ve thought of that first.”
“Damn right, you should’ve.” You mutter.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Days pass by and the Tokonami match approaches; you stand by the scoresheet desk as you clip your hair up, the bag for the flags on the ground by your feet. You sign the sheet, sitting on the bench wondering why the teams haven’t arrived when it’s 10 minutes to warm up time.
“Y/N!” Someone calls, attention drawn to Kiyoko and the Karasuno team standing by the open doors. You wave at each other, the down referee talking to you for a moment just long enough to have your school’s team situated at their bench when you turned back around. “I thought spectators were supposed to be up there?” She jokes, making you roll your eyes. “I am working right now, okay? Some of us have jobs, Kii.” Your friend is pulled aside to talk to the down ref.
“L/N? Shouldn’t you be in the stands?” Suga asks, slightly confused. “I’m working. I’m doing line judge for your game.” You explain. “Do you do the sheet as well?” You nod. “Sometimes, yeah. I can be qualified as a referee next year.” Suga’s face lights up. “Really? That’s so cool!”
His reaction has you a little bit flustered. “I-It’s nothing, really…” You cross your arms, cringing at your stutter.
“No, really, it is! How much do you get paid?”
“Around 16 hundred per hour.” (¥1600 = ~$16)
“That’s pretty good.”
“Right?”
You notice Hinata and his friend prepare for an attack, but everything happens so fast. One second the ball is set and the other the ball hits the ground with a hard, loud smack. It makes you jump. You haven’t seen a quick attack like that before. “What the hell?” You mutter. Suga chuckles, looking at you. “You haven’t seen them do it in practice?”
“I was talking to Kiyoko the whole time and I space out easily, okay? Jesus, man, what year are they in?”
“First.”
“First?!”
Your reaction makes Suga laugh, the whole conversation seeming one-sided now as all he responds with is giggles. “You’re telling me they’re first years managing to do shit like that?!” He’s struggling to contain his laughter. “Hey,” he snickers, “watch your language or you’re gonna get fired!”
“I don’t think anyone really cares.”
“Suga! We’re warming up!” The shaved headed boy calls. “You can talk to your girlfriend after we win!” The libero teases. “Sorry about them. I’ve gotta–“
“Suga?”
“Hm?”
You send him two thumbs up. “Good luck!”
He smiles. “Thank you.”
The down ref eyes both of you. “Is he your boyfriend? I hope you won’t be cheating off points.”
“God, no, why does everyone think that?”
The ref blows the whistle after a few more minutes of warming up, signaling for the teams to get off the court. You unwrap the flag, waving it around. You wave it up, then down with a loud snap just to test it out. Luckily, the other games hadn’t started yet, so you wouldn’t get scolded by the ref before the game even begun. Giving a high five to the other line judge, you walk onto the court.
The ball is hit onto Karasuno’s side of the court, but your flag is raised, a finger pointing at the antennae still wiggling in the air. The point goes to your school after the ref gives you a nod.
The game progresses, for almost every time Tokonami hit the ball on your side of the court, your flag went up. They hit a few line shots, but they still couldn’t catch up, your school dominating and winning both sets straight. To see the quick attack again was… quite exhilarating. It always caught you off guard despite seeing it played multiple times and it being the main source of points.
Signing off on the sheet, you catch up with your school’s team, scaring Kiyoko by pouncing on her out of nowhere, giving her a tight hug. You let go of her and see your other friend lurking behind you. “Suga!” You give him a double high five, which he returns before giving him a hard pat on the back. “You did it!” You cheer, not noticing the gentle grip he has on your wrists since you were practically flailing around. It was the first win of your school you’ve seen in a while, so this was a valid reason to be so excited.
And it was a damn good game too.
“Are you watching the other games? I’m doing sheet for another match.” He shakes his head, which makes you slightly disappointed. “Will you be at the next game?” He asks, you nodding with a grin. The moment you realize he was holding your wrists, you panic and come up with some sort of excuse. “I’ll see you then, I gotta go. Bye.” You murmur quickly, unsure if he heard.
The team leaves the gym, Suga catching up with his coach. “Is she always like that? She isn’t usually so… jumpy.” He says, not wanting to be rude. “L/N’s like that when she sees good games. Gets her all pumped. It’s like… the energy flows off the court and out into the crowd, y’know? Maybe it’s because it’s her school’s first win she’s seen in a while.”
“Are you saying we played good today, Coach?” Daichi asks. Ukai pauses for a moment.
“You did good today, but we can be better.”
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
“Come on, man, just do it!” Tanaka encourages.
“You have a perfectly valid reason to offer it as well!” Nishinoya adds.
“I don’t really know if I should trust the two most hopeless romantics on the team.” Suga says. “What’s that supposed to mean?!” One of them yells, the club door opening. “What’s going on?” Ennoshita asks, trailing beside Daichi. “Suga wants to ask L/N on a date.” Nishinoya teases, making kissy noises until his teammate hits him on the head. “I’m kinda worried about Y– L/N. She usually walks with Shimizu but since she left early, she has to walk home alone.”
“Then Suga wants to walk her home and profess his undying love on the way!” Tanaka jokes. “‘Oh, L/N, I love you sooo much!’” Nishinoya mocks, the second years laughing before Suga knocks them both on the head. “To be fair, Suga, you do make it quite obvious that you’re attracted to her.” Daichi chuckles, packing his bag. “I do?”
“Ever since the Date Tech match, you two have been talking a lot and you tend to freeze up sometimes when she smiles.” Asahi points out, unintentionally embarrassing his friend. “I do not!” He denies, rummaging through his bag for a new shirt. “Suga, you froze last practice when you two looked at each other and you missed the set.” Daichi says. Tanaka and Nishinoya snicker, Suga glaring at the two.
“Suga, you left your water on the–“ Multiple shirtless men stare at you after you open the door, immediately slamming it shut.
Embarrassment and heat rushes to your face. To think that your eyes immediately darted to Suga, who was also shirtless, first thing? Absolutely humiliating. The one time you decide not to knock, you walk in on your friend half naked. What are the chances? You’ve seen other teams shirtless, so why should you care? It wasn’t that big of a deal so why were you blushing?
Your hands cover your face, the warmth of it making you realize how flustered you are. “L/N, are you okay?” Hinata asks, noticing you curled up into a ball on the ground by the club door. You give him a thumbs up, not looking at any of the first years that followed behind him. You get up, brushing yourself off and letting the cool air calm you down.
The door opens again, Suga looking back inside the room and saying something before his eyes land on you. “Y/N.” He mutters to himself. “I’m sorry, I should’ve knocked first!” You apologize, bowing profusely until his hand rests on the top of your head. “It’s okay, don’t worry about it. Though, it’s the first time I’ve ever seen someone so… flustered.” He says calmly, chuckling awkwardly at the end, the blush on your cheeks growing just as it was starting to go away.
You hand him his water bottle, which he accepts with a smile, taking a quick drink before asking you something. “Um…” He hums, bringing your attention back to him. He looks nervous, as if he’s trying to say something but can’t seem to get the words out. “Well, Shimizu usually walks with you but since she left, I don’t want you walking in the dark alone and–“
“Yeah, sure.”
“Huh?”
“You can walk with me. I was actually gonna ask you but… I chickened out.” The fact that both of you had thought of the same thing relieved Suga a little bit. “How’d you know I was gonna ask?” He asks, descending the stairs of the club rooms with you. “Sometimes you make things very obvious, Suga.”
“I do?”
“Well, obvious for people that are smart enough.”
You gesture to yourself with a grin, your friend laughing. “I hope you do well against Aoba Johsai. Oikawa keeps flirting with me and Kiyoko despite being scared off repeatedly.” A pang of jealousy hits Suga for a split second, followed by curiosity. “Who scares him off? The coach?” You shake your head. “I do. Sometimes the referee steps in, and all he does is stare at him until he runs off.”
The image of the referee giving Oikawa a death stare makes Suga laugh. You open your phone after it buzzes, seeing a text message from your mom; a message that said she left for work already and that there was food on the table to be reheated.
You catch Suga looking at your phone, closing it shut. “I don’t have a lot of people in my contacts, so there’s nothing interesting that you can snoop on.” He laughs, an idea popping into his head. “Can I have your number?” He asks. Though a friendly question, you think more of it and decide to raise the stakes. “If you win against Aoba Johsai, I’ll give you my number.”
“Really? What if we don’t?”
You shrug.
“Who knows.”
Suga pauses for a moment.
“Deal.”
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
The rally for victory continues and seems never-ending, the sight of your school so determined nearly distracting you from your job. The score is way too close, with your school behind by one. 31 to 32.
Oikawa suddenly yells as Hinata prepares for his attack; three men on Aoba Johsai jump with their arms up, to change routes around the block being too late. A loud smack reverberates off Hinata’s hand and off the hands of the blockers, bouncing off their hand and onto the ground, where three other players lay in the ground as they failed to keep it in play.
Loud screams erupt from Johsai’s side of the gym, though all you can focus on is your school’s side of the court, the shock nearly making you drop your flag. The referee has to remind you to move to the other side for the teams to line up, the slip of paper in your pocket nearly tearing with how tight your grip is on it.
You borrow the scoresheet’s pen and quickly write down a note on your slip, signing the sheet after. You’re so overwhelmed by the upset that you don’t notice that you’re crying until you spend a long time in the bathroom trying to comprehend what just happened, staring at yourself in the mirror for longer than you thought. Some girls passed by, most of them asking if you were okay, and you only nodded, knowing that you’d start crying again if you tried to speak.
You left the bathroom feeling empty from letting that all out, deciding to leave the gymnasium entirely since you didn’t have anymore games to do. Running into Aoba Johsai now would be a really bad idea.
While walking mindlessly, you see a familiar jacket and a bunch of blonde hair entering a building. You stop at the door about to enter when you realize they managed to get in before the place was even open. Suddenly, the door slides open, an old woman greeting you and welcoming you in, though you deny her offer and instead ask her to get Ukai to come outside. For a split second, you notice the team crying silently as they eat, tears flowing down their face as they stuff their faces with mounds and mounds of food.
Ukai steps out, shutting the door before sighing. “How’d you find us? Nevermind that, do you wanna eat? It’s on me.” You shake your head, the words you want to say stuck in your throat. “Were you crying?” Ukai points out, this time you shake your head harder, fed up. “Could you just give this to Suga for me? Please?” You hand him the slip from earlier, all crumpled from holding it in a closed fist in your pocket, as well as a bottle of the same ice tea you gave him a while ago.
“Can’t ‘ya just do it yourself? I thought you two were already going out.” You hit him over and over until he agrees. “Ouch, ow– okay, I’ll give it to him! Geez, are you sure you don’t wanna eat?” You nod, bowing before you leave.
Ukai waits until the entire team finishes eating and leaves the restaurant to catch up with him. “Suga.” The boy turns around, looking at his coach. “L/N said to give this to you.” Suga’s eyes widen at the bottle, taking it eagerly. Ukai drops the slip of paper into Suga’s other hand before giving him a pat on the back.
Suga is seated next to Asahi on the bus, the ace staring out the window mindlessly at the sky. The paper had writing on it, he noticed after unfolding it.
You did a great job today. I’m proud of you.
He flips the slip over to see a phone number, realizing that it’s yours.
He never opened his contacts so quickly.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
“Kiyoko, what are we waiting for?” You ask her, as both of you have been standing outside the open gym doors for what felt like forever. “I found a new manager. She should be here by now.” You drag her inside. “I’m sure she knows where to go, we should just sit down.”
“L/N!” Someone calls, that person jumping onto you and hugging you tight. “Hitoka?! What are you doing here!?” She lets go, looking at Kiyoko and freezing for a second. “Shimizu offered for me to become a volleyball club manager, and I said yes because I didn’t really have any club activities.” She half-lies, unbeknownst to you.
“To be honest, I didn’t really know you came here…” You mutter, Hitoka overhearing and pouting a little. “Well… we lost contact over the years, but I think our parents still talk a little. My mom told me you went here but I haven’t been able to find you.” She laughs awkwardly.
“You two know each other?” Kiyoko asks. “I used to babysit her when her mom went to work; we were really close when we were younger.” You ruffle Hitoka’s hair. “L/N, are you a manager too?” You shake your head. “I just come to watch. Kiyoko drags me here.” She gives you a playful nudge. “You come here to gawk at Sugawara whenever he’s on the court. I’ve caught you staring at him while he’s shirtless.”
“Shut up, I do not! You said that so loud!” Your face goes red as you playfully hit your friend, who’s laughing at you. Only then do you realize the amount of eyes on you, luckily Suga’s not being one of them. You nudge Kiyoko while Hitoka stands behind you, peeking out while your friend introduces their new manager.
The new manager squeaks and turns away, catching you off guard. “Hitoka, are you okay?” You look at whatever made her look away, regretting it instantly. Of course it had to be the boys shirtless, changing out of their school uniforms. including your... friend? It wasn’t until then that you remembered what happened last time, this time focusing on the ground.
“Y/N has a really big crush on Sugawara.” Kiyoko teases.
“Shut up.”
“You know that I’m not wrong.”
“And I hate that you’re right.”
It was true; you did have somewhat of a thing for your… friend. Who could blame you, you two hung out a lot ever since their loss to Aoba Johsai. He’s sweet, caring, and has one hell of an athletic bod. Not that you looked at him on purpose, it was always an accident.
Majority of the time it was an accident.
“Can I look now?” Hitoka asks, Kiyoko confirming with a laugh as the other manager turns around.
“Y/N, can you hold this?” Suga suddenly hands you his sweatshirt he always wears out of nowhere. One second he was on one side of the gym and the next he’s right in front of you. “Were you planning to wear that the whole practice?” You laugh, beginning to fold it instinctively. “I was cold.” He says before running back to his warm up partner. You turn and see Kiyoko staring at you. “Since when were you two on a first name basis?” She says with a smirk on her face. “First off, no one calls him by his first name and second, like… a few weeks ago? He said it by accident but I was fine with it.”
“Sugawara wouldn’t stop showing us the note you gave him at the practice you didn’t come to. He’s in love with you.”
The image of him seemingly so excited made your face go warm.
“I’m literally going to make Ukai fire you.”
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
“Suga! L/N not with you?” Daichi greets his friend, a bit surprised by your absence. “She’s with Shimizu right now. She’ll catch up with exam scores later.” Immediate worry rushes to the captain. “I really hope that Hinata and Kageyama pass…” He says, hand planted on his forehead. The other two third years remembered about the training camp, also hoping the same thing.
“I’m sure we did fine. As for the youngins…” Suga cuts himself off, not really having an answer for his statement. “What if they all fail and they can’t come to the training camp?” Asahi’s face darkens, Suga whacking him on the head. “There you go again! Negative goatee!”
“Suga, you seemed really excited talking about the scores. You’re usually worried and have your fingers crossed half the time.” Daichi points out, observing his friend’s content demeanour. “Well, Y/N kinda raised the stakes for me in a way…” His friends cock an eyebrow, intrigued. “Did she bribe you?” The captain asks, a hint of anger in his tone.
“No, no, it’s nothing like that! It’s just… I kind of told her I liked her during one of our study sessions.” His friends’ mouths hang slightly open, yelling almost a little too loud. “And you were gonna tell us this when?!” Daichi shakes him by the shoulders, Asahi trying to intervene. “What did she say?” The ace stops Daichi’s freak out to let Suga speak.
“She said that if I passed all my exams, she’ll start going out with me.” Asahi pats his friend on the back with a smile. “You got this in the bag, Suga! You’ve passed every year with flying colours!” It surprised Suga a little bit, seeing him so positive about his love life. “I don’t know if I should be more surprised about your boldness or the fact that you two have been studying together.” Daichi interrupts, eyeing Suga.
“I asked her first. She’s a good teacher.”
“You’re just saying that because you’re practically in love with her.” Asahi teases.
“Maybe, but I’ve passed all my exams so far, so I’m not wrong.”
“Is it a habit of hers to keep betting on things like this?” Daichi asks, remembering the Aoba Johsai phone number occasion. “I see it as a motivational thing.” Suga says, his friends sighing, both of them saying the same thing. “Of course you do…”
Time ticks and the bell rings, Suga anxiously waiting in his seat for his name to be called. He practically rushes up to the front when it does, almost embarrassingly fast, his classmates wondering how one could not be nervous. College preparatory exams surely had much more pressure put on them.
The passing grade is 40 points, majority of Suga’s exams within 75-86 points. The glee he had on his face showing you all his papers made you blush, knowing he wanted this as much as you did. Hard work came with small, celebratory moments.
“Welcome in!” Ukai yells at the sound of the door sliding open, pausing at the sight of both of you laughing. “L/N! Suga! How were exams?” You hold up your paper, a large 87 written in red in the corner. “I beat him by one.” Suga playfully shoves you, showing Ukai his score of 86. “So you’ll be coming to the training camp! Sorry, L/N, team only.” You shrug. “Obviously. Did anybody fail on your team?” You ask Suga, him shaking his head.
“No, not that I know of. Daichi probably does, but I didn’t see him after lunch.”
“That’s because you came looking for me first thing and not your teammates.”
Ukai eyes both of you, sensing something but not saying anything of it. “You two are here for the meat buns, I assume.” Both of you nod, Ukai denying your payment, saying it was a reward for doing well. You end up shoving your cash down his hoodie, dragging Suga out the shop with you.
“Old man is so persistent…” You mutter, Suga laughing before beginning to eat. “Suga… when you told me you liked me, and when I placed our relationship on the line, I had faith in you.” He swallows, looking confused. “What do you mean?” You take a bite of your own bun before you answer. “You’re a smart kid, Suga. I knew you were going to pass regardless of the bet.”
“So you’re saying the whole bet thing was already you saying yes? That you’d go out with me?”
You nod. “See, you’re smart. But I do have one thing I want between us.”
“What is it?”
“I don’t really want anybody else to know about this yet. Are you okay with keeping this between us?” Suga suddenly remembers telling his friends about the whole bet during lunch; the only thing he can do now is pray and hope that they somehow forget about it.
“Whatever you’re comfortable with.”
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
As if God was watching over him, Asahi and Daichi quite literally forgot about the whole bet, but only remembered the part where Suga said that he confessed his feelings to you. When asked about it, he didn’t provide an answer and simply requested for them to keep it a secret.
He made it unintentionally sound like you rejected him, which, in Suga’s favour, made them assume you didn’t like him, which was surprising to them.
His phone buzzed, revealing a text from you.
Hi~! How’s the camp going?
He smiles to himself before responding.
We lost our match today :( Turns out Hinata and Kageyama had to take make up exams and they came late
Who drove them all the way to Tokyo?? ಠ_ಠ
Tanaka’s sister did. She’s a lifesaver.
Tell me if anyone is hitting on Kiyoko. I’ll kick their ass.
What if you get fired for that?
Technically it won’t be during my work hours, my reputation just might be ruined. I don’t mind.
You say all these things but never go through with them ( ̄^ ̄)ゞ
Because I’m not an idiot! I will probably kick someone’s ass if they tried to hit on Kiyoko though. Is Hitoka okay? Not… overwhelmed by the amount of boys?
( ̄▽ ̄) She’s okay. I’ll let her know you checked in.
“Who are you texting?” Bokuto peeks over Suga’s shoulder, Hinata going on his tip toes to look as well. “L/N. She was just checking in.” Realization dawns upon the Fukurodani player. “Ah, L/N! She was a line judge at one of my games! I wonder if she still remembers me.” Suga’s phone buzzes again, another message from you.
Have fun, okay? Don’t get too worked up, you’ll be forced to be friends with your opponents. Stay safe, take care \(^ω^)/<3
Suga tries to hide the giddiness that grows in him after he read your message.
Thank you~ Sleep well ╰(*´︶`*)╯♡
“Suga, who are you texting? You’ve been smiling like an idiot this whole time.” Daichi sits down in front of him, beginning to eat. The giddiness has failed to hide and reached his face. “Um… no one in particular.” He lies, putting his phone back in his pocket. At this point Bokuto’s been messing around the cafeteria, being reprimanded by one of his managers.
“Don’t worry about it. My friend is just checking in.” The word ‘friend’ soon has him wondering what terms you two are on now. You two were still friends, but it was certainly something more than that. You were both going out, but was there a label he could put on it that made sense?
Every single day after training, he’d open his phone and check for a text from you. If there wasn’t any, he’d text you first. His team members had caught onto his behaviour, sometimes watching from outside the room for a bit before entering.
Asahi saw Nishinoya lurking outside their team room, staring through the window. “Noya, what are you doing?” He asks, a bit bothered. “Suga’s giggling at his phone right now. I think it’s kinda funny, so I’m watching from here.” Confusion is plastered on the ace’s face. “Why don’t you just go inside?”
“Because if I do, he’ll try to hold in his laughs and hide his face and it won’t be as funny!” Asahi sighs in disbelief that his friend would do something as ridiculous as this, but ends up watching with him, understanding why it was so interesting. Sometimes he’d burst out laughing or he just ends up giggling like a schoolgirl, all while staring at his phone.
Kiyoko stood at the other window with not as good of an angle of the inside, taking a dinky little picture of Suga smiling at his phone and sending it to you.
Look at what you’re doing to your little boyfriend.
The photo makes you equally giggle behind your own screen.
Is he really that excited to talk to me?
I think he’s been deprived of you for a bit. You should come here.
I’d get kicked out! And there is no way I’m getting my mom to drive me all the way to Tokyo to a camp that doesn’t allow visitors.
You’re gonna miss out on barbecue on the last day then.
Tempting, but no
Kiyoko are you just persuading me because you miss me~
I don’t. Your boyfriend does though
How is he?
Don’t you have his number? Ask him yourself
Woww so rude
^ - ^
He’ll make it without me, I’m sure. I’ve just been checking in
Yeah and he falls even more whenever he sees a text from you
Shouldn’t you be doing manager things right now? Get back to work (c" ತ,_ತ)
He’s getting all pouty now because you haven’t been responding
You ignore Kiyoko, opening Suga’s contact instead.
The show of your boyfriend’s fits of giggles continued, this time with a bigger audience watching from the outside windows.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
To say Suga missed you was a bit of an understatement. He practically needed to see you. The urge to hug you and spin you around in front of his team, look at you but decided to keep it on the low as you preferred, leaving his team at Sakanoshita when they decided to grab a quick snack from their coach.
He personally walked all the way to your house, standing outside your gate rather than ringing on the doorbell, pulling out his phone.
Y/N~ Are you awake yet?
Of course I am, it’s 4 in the afternoon…
You tend to take naps around this time though..(_ _).。o○
How was the bus ride? Are you home yet?
I’m outside
Outside? What do you mean?
Is it okay if I stay for a bit?
Almost immediately, the front door opens, the biggest smiles plastered on both of your faces. You don’t bother changing out of your slippers, running out the door, opening the gate and hugging him for the first time in what felt like ages.
“I missed you.” He says, the tension between the two of you growing. “I missed you too. You and your stupid grey hair and stupid face.” You pinch his cheek like a mom would, him wincing with a laugh. “Kiyoko sent a photo of you texting me.” His face drops, worried about what it was. “She said you were giggling and pouting at your phone. Do I really make you that excited?”
“Well, yeah, you’re my… girlfriend. I think. I don’t really know what terms we’re on.” You burst into laughter at his confusion. “I thought we already figured that out! I’ve been calling you my boyfriend all this time.” The formality echoes in Suga’s head. Boyfriend. He was your boyfriend. And you were his girlfriend.
“You never really said it in person… and you never mentioned it over text.” He defends, following you into your house. “Because you didn’t ask. But I guess I should’ve been more transparent about it.” You shrug, taking the blame. “I should’ve gotten you something from Sakanoshita… I was with the team for a bit but just decided to come here.”
“It’s okay, don’t worry about it. My mom’s gonna ask you to stay for dinner anyways.”
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Keeping your relationship a secret was a bit challenging, yet every time you almost got caught, you played it off and it made you realize how naïve men really are.
You’ve managed to keep it hidden all the way up to the Shiratorizawa match, which impressed you, given how many times you nearly gave in to the urge of PDA.
When both schools began to warm up, Hinata and Kageyama’s quick sending gasps across the gym. Suga’s hands are clasped together, his teammates surrounding him as you watch the setter try to warm them up in a panic. You abandon the scoresheet desk, since you weren’t doing much other than small talk with the referee.
“Suga.” He sees you walking over to him, embarrassed but also confused. “Y/N, what are you–“ Your hands clasp over his for a moment, guiding both of them to his cheeks, which, as expected, are warm. Your hands still rest on top of his, pulling his face in for a quick peck on his forehead. “Good luck. You got this.” You let go, Suga’s face bright red and looking like a kettle about to boil over.
The rest of his teammates wail in surprise, surrounding him and asking an abundance of questions.
“What the hell was that?!”
“You two are dating!?”
“When were you going to tell us?”
Kiyoko’s mouth hangs slightly open at your bold move, following you as you move from their bench to the scoresheet desk. The down ref eyes you and #2 on Karasuno. “You aren’t going to shift the game because you two are going out, aren’t you?” The assumption has you rolling your eyes. “I’m not stupid, I’d get fired. Don’t worry, I know what I’m doing.” You reassure, the ref shrugging.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
You leave the gym after holding in your tears for what felt like forever, eyes meeting with Suga’s first thing. You immediately burst into tears, head buried into his shoulder. “Oi, if you don’t stop, I’ll start crying again.” He laughs, making you pull away and wipe your face. “I’m sorry, I’m just… I’m so proud of you and your team. That spike was amazing.” His thumb strokes your cheek, pulling you in for another hug.
“As much as we are all astounded you two are finally going out… does Y/N need a ride?” Ukai interrupts, you responding with a nod.
The entire walk to the bus, you take pride in being able to hold your boyfriend’s hand without worrying about everything like you used to. The sight was certainly something the team would have to get used to, but it wasn’t horrible. Mostly.
They had a field day after Tanaka yelled out that you two were kissing in a bus full of tired teenage boys.

Dating at Last
Koshi Sugawara x (GN) Reader:
**Warning(s): season 2/3 spoilers, cussing, intro is kinda long (sorry)
**Note: this was kinda rushed and not proofread so sorry in advance for that!!this was also not my original intention for this story.
**Genre: Fluff ??
**Word Count: 420
Background: You’re a third year at Karasuno and in the same class as Sugawara. You met Sugawara at during second year and became close friends after working on a project together for class at the beginning of third year. This is taking place during the spring tournament qualifiers.
You were biting your nails, nervous. Karasuno was playing Aoba Johsai battling it out for a spot in the finals. Last time they played Seijoh they gave it everything and still lost. You were hoping for the best for the team, but secretly you were hoping for everything this wouldn’t be Suga’s last game. You were close friends and you knew how much volleyball meant to him. He didn’t even mind that he was replaced with Kageyama and was on the bench most of the game. He just wanted to play.
As the match came to an end you went to meet the team before they got on there bus. They had won in the third set and were off to the finals against Shiratorizawa. You quickly met the team and congratulated the boys. Talking with the third years before going home. You had made a a go go Karasuno sign. Time flew by so fast yet so slow, before everyone knew it, it was time for the match. After quickly meeting up with Suga to wish him luck and help him calm down once you saw how nervous he was, you were off to your seat. The game seemed to go by slow at first until the fourth and fifth sets, which seemed to go by in an instant. There was the whistle and they had won the boys did it. They were going to nationals. Unable to control yourself you ran down to meet Suga and jumped into his arms. As he picked you up and spun you (which was a usual greeting for you to), you couldn’t help but lean down and kiss him. Shocked he almost dropped you. “Y/N, wha…. What was that for?” Suga stuttered out. “Shit. Sorry I was just so excited and I couldn’t contain it.” You were getting really flustered and nervous thinking you messed up your friendship. Laughing Suga says “I like you too Y/N”. “Really?” “Yea, I was just worried about ruining the friendship. But, now that I know that you feel the same. Will you be my significant other?” “Of Course!” Suga leans in and kisses you. This was the start to the relationship of a lifetime. A happily ever after.

things you should/should not do with your volleyball boo throughout the seasons (1/?)
[ WINTER ] ➳ cuddle under the kotatsu
koushi sugawara x reader // haikyuu! // scenario // 1.k words
warnings: 18+ only, minors dni. grinding, thigh-fucking, fluffy, sappy smut
Tumblr media
The best part of winter is not, in fact, Suga’s vacation from his teaching obligations, or even your own time off from work—though those are both lovely consequences of the holiday season. But no. You would argue that the best part is definitely the fact that you can whip out the kotatsu. There’s nothing more idyllic than resting under the blanketed tabletop with your lover, its compact heat warming your bodies from the chill seeping through your apartment.
Suga sits at your side, thumbing through a book on teaching strategies and its applications. He’s ever-dedicated to bettering himself in every aspect of his life, even on his break; it’s a quality you admire about him. You have your own book nestled between your hands, but the warmth of the kotatsu admittedly has your eyes slipping shut, the words you read dissipating from your memory before they can stick. Glancing at Suga, you see he’s intently focused on his own studies, his tongue sticking out slightly in his concentration. Your sock-covered foot nudges his under the table, and he looks up, sending you a dazzling smile.
“Hey there.” He nudges your foot back playfully.
“Hi.”
When he turns back to his reading, the smile is still curving his lips.
Your gaze lingers on it. It’s near impossible now to focus on your book. Not when you have a much more... delightful distraction inches away from you. You sigh, shaking your head of those thoughts. Suga’s trying to concentrate.
You put your book down, before slumping forwards, debating what to do with a frown on your face. Eventually you decide, falling backwards onto your cushion. Suga catches sight of you splayed out on the ground and laughs.
“Tired?”
“It’s too relaxing here,” you groan out. He grins, reaching out to ruffle your hair.
“You should take a nap,” he suggests.
Your nose wrinkles. “Koushi… you know they make it hard for me to sleep later.”
He hums thoughtfully. “You’re right. But if you’re tired, you should sleep.”
You yawn, rubbing your eyes. His fingers thread through your hair, stroking in gentle, comforting patterns. You turn to face him, admiring his peaceful visage as he reads.
Sugawara really is handsome. He doesn’t seem to think so himself, shaking off your compliments and bashfully admitting that he’s “alright.” He’s an understated kind of handsome, you think, not the kind that has people awestruck at the sight of him, but instead... the kind that you can truly appreciate in these moments, when his fingers are massaging your head, lulling you to sleep. When his lips quirk upwards after finally untangling a challenging section of words, as if he’s relishing in the small victory.
You find everything about him to be ridiculously attractive. Is it possible to fall in love with someone all over again, every day, in the small moments?
Suga makes you believe so.
He notices you staring after a moment. “What? Is there something on my face?”
“Yeah. Hotness,” you say bluntly.
You have the distinct pleasure of seeing red creep to his cheeks. He ducks his head, coughing slightly into his palm. Still when it’s over, you can see the wide, sheepish smile on his face as he murmurs a “thanks.” He clears his throat, his voice gaining volume with his confidence. “But I think between both of us, you’re the one bringing the heat every day.”
“Don’t you mean between the three of us?” you say, patting the tabletop meaningfully.
He laughs, a joyous sound that seems to expel some of his shyness. “You’re right. How could I forget? The kotatsu is doing a good job, too.”
Your gaze, however, narrows in on the way Suga tugs at the collar of his sweater, at the way his face is flushed with heat that surely must be more than just embarrassment. “Hey Suga?”
“Yeah?”
“Do you wanna bring more heat to the living room?” you ask, lifting your section of the blanket and patting the space next to you.
He tilts his head to the side, as if trying to decipher the intention behind your words. But like all things you request of him, he readily obliges with a smile, even if he is puzzled. He settles into the spot next to you, pressing into your side, before winding an arm around your waist. With his other hand, he holds up his book.
Little does he know he won’t be needing it.
The first time you brush your ass against his front, Suga figures it might be a mistake. The space is cramped with the two of you in the same spot, after all, and you seem to be adjusting your body to better fit in his grasp. But then when you persist in rubbing against him, he finds his own concentration waning.
“Hey… when you asked me to come over here, you had something in mind, didn’t you?” His tone isn’t accusatory, because he already knows the answer.
“Maybe~”
Now you’re grinding against his burgeoning arousal, and Suga is finding it even harder to read the words before him. He bites down on his lip, before his lowering his book onto the table.
“Okay,” he says, his voice several shades richer—with intention. “You got my attention. I’m finding it pretty hard to stay focused.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah,” he says, his arms wrapping around your chest. His erection presses firmly into your backside, a sign of your relentless effect on him. “In fact, I can think of something else I’d rather be doing... or rather... someone else,” he says coyly, burying his face into the crook of your neck as he slowly rocks his hips against you.
The friction isn’t enough for either of you, though.
Reaching behind, you tug at the hem of his sweatpants. He aids you, shoving them to his knees before hooking his fingers into your own and dragging them down. It’s a bit tight with the limited space the kotatsu provides, but with a bit of maneuvering the two of you make do. Soon the two of you are grinding against each other without any coverings, just skin on skin. You can’t help but sigh every time you feel the hot, rigid length of him slide against you, and he can’t help but moan when he feels your slick collect on his cock. As the two of you continue lazily rutting, Suga’s hand creeps towards the dip between your thighs. Your hand follows shortly, clasping over his as he fondles you.
It’s the lazy kind of sex. The kind where neither of your clothes are even fully off, instead trapped against your knees, your undergarments only haphazardly pulled down your legs, just enough for the friction to be pleasurable. But it’s enough. Suga’s grinding turns into short, quick ruts against your thighs, which soon turn into thrusts. He buries his cock between your thighs, thrusts deep enough that it pokes through the other side, nudging his hand pressing against your slit. When it brushes your dripping entrance, you gasp loudly.
“Can I—?” he breathes out, and you squeeze his hand in response. He prods your entrance, and the first slide of him into you borders painful after the build-up. You cry out his name, and Suga curses at the way your walls grip his arousal tautly. He sets up a leisurely pace, his cock pumping between your cheeks with every thrust, the sounds of your lovemaking producing a light slapping sound. Your hips angle away from him at some point—the feel of his hardness filling you up, the insistent stroking of his fingers too much—but his palm applies pressure on your mound, forcing your hips back down to his. Suga groans your name quietly into your ear.
You’re sure the heat generated between your bodies must be warmer than the electric heater surrounding you. You nudge your leg between Suga’s, and he grips your hips, arching his back to thrust harder into you.
“Ah... god.” He wants to bury his head between your shoulder blades, feel the way your whole body trembles against him, but he also wants to lean back and admire you like this. Trembling because of his actions, because of how good he’s making you feel.
It’s a struggle to decide which is a better view, but he settles for resting his chin on your shoulder as his hips slap against yours, his pace growing erratic.
“Ah… you know...” He grunts. “This is gonna make a big mess.”
“I-It’s too late for that, isn’t it?” you gasp out.
“T-True—” he grits out.
It takes several urgent thrusts into you until Suga’s burying himself as deep inside you as he can. He lets out a strangled groan, his release spilling warmly inside you, trailing down between your thighs. His fingers persist in the patterns they draw against your nub, even as he’s shaking from exertion, until you’re also spiraling with him. The way you clench around him in his oversensitive state has him weakly groaning out your name. The two of you remain in that position, your breaths the only sound in the room, mingling in the lull of the your post-sex highs.
“Love you,” Suga says tiredly after the moment pauses, pressing a kiss to your shoulder. “That was great.”
"Yeah... it was... something.”
You squirm. The heat of the kotatsu is quickly the fluids on your legs, making everything uncomfortably crusty.
You clear your throat, making a displeased face. “Maybe we should clean up.”
“I’ll get a washcloth,” Suga offers immediately. He slips out of you, pausing for a moment at the squelching sound the movement produces. He coughs to mask his embarrassment, tugging up his pants swiftly. At your sleepy protests, he places a kiss to the top of your head. “Can’t have you getting cold now.”
You’re thankful for it, because your drowsiness comes back full force, induced by the rigorous activity you just indulged in. You sigh, your eyes slipping shut. Blearily, you register Suga returning, wiping your thighs clean with a mumbled apology when you grumble at being moved. Then he’s pulling your pants up, before sliding next to you and drawing you into his arms.
Yeah, Suga’s beautiful. Not just in his appearance, but in the things he does for you.
Verdict: Cuddling under the kotatsu? Should do! Just make sure not to leave a mess.

•Oo Love~ Ooh loverboy~
•An angel I will say. He is so sweet. Even before you both started dating.
•As friends he is like your wingman for everything. Supportive and cheerful, and he also would constanly give you advice on what's right or if you're doing something's wrong. Even if most of it not really helping
•He tease you alot.
•I feel like, he will be the one who confess first. He knows the chance for you to actually return his feelings is low but deep down he lowkey is still hoping, And plus until when is he gonna keep it hidden? He's in third year already.
•People have told him that he shouldn't turn friendship into relationship because he might lose both, and that does bring his hope down because he doesn't want his feelings to be the cause of your friendship being destroy.
•But Daichi shut those goons up and told suga "I can't promise that they will return your feelings, but there's nothing wrong in trying, and im sure N/N wouldn't do that. So get your head out of your gutter!"
•He tends to joke around alot, and yet sometimes he seems serious. But you know what they said. "The one who smiles alot, have the most scars" [Listen ik he dont have depressing bg story or whtever but shut up ok? ]
•Sugawara keeps alot to himself. Though, do you ever wonder? Suga always seems to care for everyone, wanting what's best for them, helping them, and he always seems fine but.. Is he? He was there to ask "Are you okay..? Do you need anything" but who is the person who will comfort him? Someone who would return the favor.?
•The pressure as the vice captain, the matches, practices, and his feelings..
•As times goes by everything build up, Ever since they're first year, trying their hardest to build the school name again. To make the volleyball team shine once more. The pressure added up.
.
•He almost cry when you said you share the same feelings as him. Wait no- He is crying-
•During that moment he felt a little relief, as if some weight have been lifted up.
"I-Im sorry- I can't help my self" He stuttered through his words as more tears drip down his face.
•You pull him into a hug and try to comfort him as he slowly relax in your embrace-
"NICE SUGA-SANN!!"
"S-Shut up Noya! He will see us-"
•Looking at the bushes, you both saw the 3rd and second years. Tanaka is on the verge of tears and its not because he's happy for suga but-
"THIS IS NOT FAIR SUGA-SAN!!"

Okay so, this is my second original post but my first every writing on here. I've done my best and I hope whoever comes across this will like it!
Where?: Mortal Kombat 11
Who?: Shang Tsung, Fujin, Noob Saibot, Nightwolf.
Bonus!: Koushi Sugawara
Where?: Haikyuu!
Request?: No
Summary: Mentioned characters with a Goth reader; the reader is male and is a crush for the characters.
If anyone wants to see this type of post with any other types of reader just send it in the requests and I will gladly do it.
Tumblr media
Shang Tsung
The first time he saw you was when he assisted your training against Kitana; there were people watching and cheering either you or Kitana on, although it was just a practice match, everyone that was there wanted to see this go down.
You immediately caught Shang Tsung's eye; your heavy chained choker, your sharp finger rings, your platform shoes and your hairstyle. You had it all! He caught himself smirking and eyeing you up and down as you got in your stance. He admired those broad shoulders and chest as well with your arm accessorized with jewelry from your forearms to your wrists.
"Finish her!" It rang in everyone's ears as they watched you heavily breath, trying to catch your breath while you wiped your brow; Shang Tsung took a beep breath in as he took one step forward, placing his arms behind his back as he lowered his head, yet his eyes still stared at you. The fighters watched as your fatality went down, Kitana just lying in a pool of her own blood as you finished in your starting stance.
You were just too perfect, perfect for him, perfect beside him, perfect in his throne room; he knew he had to ask you to be his king before anyone else did.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fujin
He saw you talking to his brother one evening as he was passing by, but immediately stopped in his tracks when he noticed how you were dressed... choker with chains, a lot of rings around your fingers, platform boots and a no sleeved shirt with a huge red skull on it. Least to say he was suspicious, in his world villains usually dress in dark colors, but maybe it was a common human thing? In his time on earth he rarely encountered humans dresses like yourself; I mean if he did he would surely remember, right? Right!
But his suspicions grew small as he saw you and Raiden shaking hands with a thank you as you both parted ways but he rose a brow when you eyed him up and down with question; he completely forgot that he was just standing and staring at you! He felt like such an idiot!
You slowly start walking toward the man but get stopped by Kung Lao saying your name "Hey (y/n)! I was wondering if you wanted to train together if you have some time. I've asked Jade but she declined" He says sheepishly with a chuckle as he looks at you, crossing his arms. You chuckle and roll your eyes, placing you thumbs in your pockets "Surprise surprise, 'course she did" You answer with a chuckle "Sure, I'm down, get going and I'll be there in a minute" You continue in a delighted tone "Listen uh- You see that guy with the white long hair?" You whisper to Kung Lao, stopping him in his tracks. He glances at Fujin and smirks, clearly recognizing that look "Oh, you mean Fujin? What about him?" He questions in a sly tone as he wraps an arm around your shoulder "Why is he just staring at me? It's been over 10 minutes and he's creeping me out" You shiver; you've never met that man and he could be one someone who has it out for you, you just didn't want anyone to get hurt "I recognize that look anywhere" He teases as he lets you go "Don't do anything stupid!" You shout at. He just laughs "Ok!"
You roll your eyes as he see Kung Lao dragging Fujin toward you. Man, poor guy... Oh well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Noob Saibot: Bi-Han
The firts time he saw you was with Grandmaster Hasashi and his brother in the temple; you were send with them because you insisted Hanzo for it, reason being you knew you could be of assistance because of your abilities, although you assured them that you wouldn't be an obstacle, just a backup.
You got into action quite fast when Noob Saibot appeared, looking for a battle when he demanded you stepped up; he claimed he'd never seen you before and wanted to see if you were a soul worth his future time. You agreed to the battle, saying that all these chains and leather around your arms and neck was not just for show and that if he was curious he could grow some balls and step up. Noob Saibot merely just chuckled and got in his stance, impressed by your sharp tongue.
After a lot of spilled blood and bloody clothes & everything else you wear, you ended up winning, preforming your fatality to finish him off and to buy the other two men some time. You chuckled and flexed your body, showing off your broad shoulders and built back to Noob as your victory pose, mocking him as a finish. He lightly laughed; he had to snach you away from his brother and killer to make you his king in his promised realm, and he knew he will. But not today, not now. Another time, soon.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nightwolf
The first time he saw you he caught a glimpse of you battling with Kitana, her bladed fans pointing at your neck as you played on the floor with a pissed expression "You lost again (y/n), you're getting soft" She chuckles as she sits her fans down next to her, getting out of the stance. You laugh "You see that's not fair; you just won because I was injured. I got the cast off last month" You remind her as you grab her hand and get up, stumbling on your leg as you do "You need to get back to training if you want to be 100% next time. Raiden is waiting for you along with Fujin, start heading to them. I will be right there" She tells you as she helps you walk to a smooth ground. You nob as you hide your pain; you accidentally twisted your ankle and it was starting to hurt, but you said nothing to her because you refused to worry her; she alredy has so much on her plate, but as you walked it just became harder and harder, the pain packed tears to your eyes but did not spill "Augh, fuck that hurts. Shit" You whisper to yourself as you find a surface to lean on, gripping your arms around your leg, but it was getting way to hot to focus. You swat so much and your attire was not helping; leather bracelets accompanied by a huge choker with rings and chains, 5 chains of different sizes on your cargo pants.
Nightwolf passed by and hid behind the nearest corner; oh no, it's you! His crush! Oh god was is he gonna do?! Your attire always made him blush and sweaty, always finding you hot as hell, but way to proud to admit it. His head was taken out of his thoughts about you as he heard you hiss, followed by the noise of you taking your thick choker off your neck and throwing it in the dust. Something you really hate your style...
He took a deep breath in and came our of his closet- I mean corner, to help you walk "Greetings (y/n), do you need help?" He asked as I mentally composed himself. You look up at him as you take your hands off your ankle "Please. My leg is acting up and I can't walk. I'm suppost to go to Raiden and Fujin for training but, I can barely walk..." You explain in a dejected and sad tone "H-hop on my back, I'll give you a ride to your room" He proposes as he kneels down to you. You smile at him "You'd do that?" You ask in a hushed tone, but shake your head and cough "I mean, I can get there on my own Nightwolf, thanks" You say. He always made you forget your Goth tough guy act that you keep for your reputation "You don't need to pretend around me (y/n), I would love to get to get to know you" He says with an honest tone as he takes your hand in his.
His eyes widen as you blush a deep shade of red "UHHH-"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Koushi Sugawara!:
"If you're just gonna eyeball him, might as well I ask him out, no?" Daichi tells his friend as Asahi chuckles with a smile and closed eyes "N-no! Look at him, he way out of my league. There's no way I can ask a guy like that out and then get a yes- theres no way I can ask a guy like that out!" He says as he points as from across the gym, admiring your figure and form dressed in dark attire like a God, in his mind.
Nishinoya laughs and jumps on his shoulders "Aww, is the mighty 'upperclassman Sugawara' getting shy over a little crush?" He teases his older teammate "Hey, get off me! Nishinoya!" Sugawara laughs as he attempts to reach his head.
"What are you doing Noya?" Your voice rings as the duo stops "(y-y/n)! We're ju- uh- He's- ya see- uhh-" The gray haired male stutters as he blushes "Hey don't turn this on my bro! He did nothing, you blushing mess!" Tanaka shouts as he pulls Noya back on the ground "B-blushing?! I'm not blushing! At all!!" He retorts back at the younger teen "Not to break this, shitfest up. But I'm gonna head to change and meet you guys here. Boss said he organized a bbq?" You inquire as you take your black bag and put its strap on your shoulder "Oh, we don't have to change if you're wondering" Yamaguchi informs you, stopping you in your tracks toward the changing room "Come on Yams, you know I got my style" You say with a chuckle at the end, walking backward facing him as you open the door with your back.
Some minutes later, you come out the changing rooms dresses as you always dress so no one gave much though to it. Apart from Sugawara; he blushed deeply as he looked at you up and down, taking in your style "A-ah, that's a new choker?" He asks you as you walk toward him "Yeah, it is. Like it? I thought it suited me when I tried it on at the store" You tell him as you lift your head up a bit higher to show it off to the gray haired male, turning around, showing him tha buckle to give him a full taste. You stop as you hear Daichi's voice "Omay lovebirds, the teams are waiting for us" He says as he opens the gym door "Teams? As in it's not only us?" You ask him curiously "Nekoma and Fukorodani is going to be there!" Hinata tells you in his cheerful tone "Wow! Is that a new collar?!" He asks you as he touches it "Okay it's a choker. Choker, got it? And yes, its new" You emphasise.
Sugawara puts his hands on his mouth as he blushes deeply. Oh Hinata...

Emergency request, if they’re still open !
I have a fear of being a lone and lately none of my friends have been talking to me even when they’re free and I’m just so scared they’re gonna leave- I do apologise for ranting but it’s like- being in the dark and hoping someone is there to save you, I to have bad panick attacks because of it too. But there’s nobody I guess? Could I maybe get a situation like this with Tendou, suga and ukai(the coach- not his grandfather just incase confusion-)
Of course you may. Thank you for trusting me with this. I know exactly how you feel and I experience this quite commonly.
If you’d like, hop into my dms and I’ll adopt you as my homie :)
I wrote these as platonic, if you’d like romantic, please request again and I’ll help!

While you had your inner circle of friends, no one could deny that Tendou was your best one.
The two of you had become fast friends during your first year. The redhead was happy to have finally made a true friend, and you were happy to have a support system in your new school.
Overtime, you had collected some more friends amongst the two of you. They were all fantastic close friends, but nothing broke the bond between you and Satori.
That’s why he was the first to notice your sudden standoffishness towards all of your friends.
When he asked you why you hadn’t been very chatty with them, you only replied that you’ll “talk to them, when they talk to me”
You shrugged it off, putting up a front in front of Tendou. Behind closed doors though… you were a mess. Your mind was constantly running a million miles a minute.
You thought of any and every way to get your friends to talk to you. You wondered what had happened, and what you could do to change and fix it.
After a week of these nights, the middle blocker noticed how drained you looked. He noticed that you were much more sensitive to light and sound, deducing that you had been crying.
His suspicions were solidified when the two of you were standing at your lockers. You noticed one of your closest friends walking in, so you cheerily said hello to them.
Their reply was nothing more than a forced , awkward, grin. They wordlessly got their books and left while giving you some sort of stank eye.
Tendou’s eyes widened at the interaction, mouth agape. “(Y/N)-“
“Hm. That was strange. They must be having an off day.” You said with a fake cheerfulness, “Maybe I’ll see if they want to go out later to help them feel better.”
Before he could ask how you felt, you were gone. Instead of going to class, you retreated to the place you knew would be empty at this time: the club room.
As the door shut behind you, you instantly sank down the back wall and onto the floor. Your eyes flooded with tears as the tie around your neck seemed to choke you.
You tried so desperately to collect yourself and force breaths, but nothing worked. Your mind abandoned you as you thought only about how much your friends hated you.
Your chest hurt, your eyes hurt, everything was so tiring. You just couldn’t stop the weeks worth of shear panic that erupted from you.
As if on cue, your saving grace opened the door hastily. Tendou immediately dove into his knees and knelt at your side. “What can I do?” He asked quickly and breathlessly.
“C-can’t breathe. Ti-tie.” You sputtered as you hiccuped and clawed at your collar.
The redhead’s gentle fingers worked their way around the tie and took it off of your neck. He unbuttoned the first two buttons of your uniform shirt and watched you. “What else?”
“Take” you whimpered as you meekly held your hand out to him.
Satori took your hand in both of his, rubbing his thumb on the base of your own. “I’ve got you. Whatever is in your head right now, try to get rid of it.” He whispered, “You’re safe and loved. I’ll always be by your side.”
When the panic subsided, it was replaced by tears of confusion, of hate, of frustration, of sadness. They fell quickly and pattered on the ground in front of you. Tendou gently held you in his arms.
“I just don’t get it. I went all over the place for them. I would do anything for them, and they can’t even be bothered to acknowledge my existence. What did I do? Why do they hate me? I’m so tired of this.” You sobbed.
“They are the issue here, not you.” Satori explained, “You’ve done what you can to try and find out what’s going on with them. You weren’t pushy, you weren’t annoying, I mean hell that was the first time I think I saw you talk to one of them in a while.”
“It’s their fault that they’re being immature. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with you. You’re a fantastic friend. If you weren’t, there’s no way in hell I’d be here right now.”
“Please try and realize that you are just fine on your own. Sure, company is good to have, but not if it’s fake company. If it’s any consolation, I’ll always be here for you. So if one is better than more, I’ll happily be the one you rely on.“ the middle blocker said, chastely kissing your forehead.
You sighed and cuddled up to him with a smile. He was right after all. If you couldn’t rely on anyone, you knew at the very least the Tendou would be there.

As one of Koushi’s childhood friends, you were quite familiar with the world of volleyball.
You were always excited to go to watch his games, practices and even just hang out with his teammates. You always felt like the club was so cool, only causing your best friend to laugh and explain how lame they are.
You were thrilled to make friends with the club, and even more happy to share in your best friend’s hobbies.
Unfortunately, those hobbies do tend to be busy. Which is why when your friends suddenly went quiet, you didn’t tell Suga about it.
You figured that with his training camp in Tokyo coming up, that he had nothing more he should be worrying about. So, you let it eat you up inside.
You had hoped that it was just a fluke. Maybe your friends were just having a bad day, and didn’t want to talk to anyone. That wasn’t the case, however, when you noticed that even after a week they hadn’t said a word to you.
What truly hurt you was the day you and Suga were at your lockers and preparing to leave for practice. Your friend noticed you come by, but they only stared at you wordlessly while they left the hallway.
Koushi furrowed his eyebrows in discontent. “What was that all about?”
You chose to remain hopeful, “No clue. Maybe they just don’t want to talk to anyone today.”
“If you say so…” Suga replied, “Let me know if you need anything. See you in a few?”
“Wouldn’t miss it for the world!” You chirped as you continued to pack your bag.
When Koushi had left, your eyes immediately flooded with tears. You packed your school bag with shaky hands, wondering what you had done wrong.
After ten minutes of slow and agonizing packing, you trudged slowly to the club room. On your way in, you noticed your friend chatting excitedly with another person.
Your heart dropped as you rushed into the empty room. You sank down the wall and hung your head between your knees, hugging your chest. It wasn’t long before you couldn’t feel any air intaking. You choked and hiccuped as your mind abandoned you.
You tried so hard to get any air, but it just didn’t work. Your lungs were on fire and you couldn’t feel anything but pain. You heard nothing but the sounds of your own labored breathing and heavy sobs. Despite this, you immediately noticed the club room door opening casually.
“I’m just gonna grab my water bottle, Daichi! I’ll be right b-“
Your eyes widened as they met with your best friends’.
“Oh god, (Y/N)? Can you hear me? Why didn’t you come get me?” Koushi asked as his features were sympathetic and terrified. “I’m right here. Nothing will harm you.”
You couldn’t do anything but shake your head at him. You wanted to tell him to leave, to tell him you could handle this. You wanted to tell him that he needed to focus on nationals and-“
As if he heard your thoughts, Suga impatiently replied “(Y/N) I barely play and you know that. Don’t you dare tell me I don’t have time for this.”
The silver-haired setter took you in an embrace and rubbed up and down your arms. “It’s okay, I’ve got you.” His voice softened as well as his eyes relaxing.
After a few minutes, your panic seemed to subside. You were still crying harshly, cursing the world. “God I feel like such an idiot. I should’ve known better.”
“What do you mean? I need you to tell me what you can…” Suga asked quietly.
“They’ve been like this for weeks, Koushi. M-my friends they just don’t like me anymore. I must’ve… I must’ve done something to annoy them or something, god I’m such a-“
“Please don’t finish that sentence, that’s my best friend you’re talking about.” The setter said in seriousness, “You are not annoying for having human emotions. You haven’t done anything to annoy any of us, I don’t understand why they’re being so standoffish either.”
“You’re not the one to blame here. Your friends are being immature and absolutely ridiculous , this is so childish and I wish that they would see that and acknowledge their wrongdoing. You are a fantastic friend and you have nothing wrong with you, do you hear me?”
“You’ve been here for me more times than I can count. You’re not a bad person, nor a bad friend. If anything, those guys are the bad ones. They’re being immature and you need to take yourself away from them. If they come back, then they’re truly good friends. If not, you know they aren’t right. Please don’t think so poorly of yourself because of bad people.”
You nodded, understanding his message. At that moment, all you wanted to do was be loved on by someone who actually cared about you. So, you took your time to cuddle up to Suga, and hug him back as he rocked you in his arms.

As the manager of the Karasuno team, you kept to yourself mostly.
Your job was to focus on your boys, helping them get to victory as many times as they could.
So when things began going awry for you’d you truly had no one to turn to. Your carried your burdens like baggage, wondering what went wrong.
At the very least, you figured you could distract yourself with work for the team. You found anything and everything to do, desperately trying to distract yourself.
Whether it was refilling water, retrieving lost volleyballs, cleaning towels, writing down anything you observed, you tried everything.
Nothing seemed to work. Your mind still ran as you wondered why your friends had suddenly gone radio silent.
When you were late to practice one day, you passed by one of your oldest friends, you waved to them with a cheerful smile. They simply glared at you and kept talking to the person they were with.
Your heart dropped as you realized that you had been correct about your assumptions. Your friends weren’t talking to you on purpose…
As your eyes filled with tears you raced over to the gym. The boys were already running drills, so you retreated to a supply closet without being noticed. Or so you thought…
You hastily slammed the door behind you as you fell to the floor. Your damn lungs wouldn’t take in any air and you were suffocating. Your gasps and hiccups were as loud as your sobs.
The closet door opened gently, then almost slammed into the wall. Shortly after, you were being pulled into someone’s arms. You immediately curled into the embrace and tried desperately to calm yourself, not wanting to to be a bother to the person.
“I’ve got you kiddo. I’ve got you.” A deep voice filled your ears as a hand slowly rubbed behind your shoulder blades. “You’re safe here, I’ve got you. I won’t let you go.”
At that moment, your blocked lungs seemed to open as you hastily gasped in deep breaths. They hurt, but they were nonetheless relieving. There you sat, panting on the floor, for a few more minutes. When you had finally calmed a little, you spoke up.
“I’m so sorry that I took you away from practice, coach. I know how close we are to Nationals and-“
“(Y/N). Your health and well-being is so much more important to me. The boys are fine. They’ve got Daichi, Sugawara, Ennoshita, and even Good Ol’ Specs to give them any tips they may need. I don’t have to be out there every second of practice, and quite frankly I couldn’t bear to ignore you when you’re having a panic attack.”
You sighed and sunk down into his embrace, “I’m really sorry. I just feel like everyone hates me for some reason…” you mumbled, turning away from his gaze. “All of my friends are just… gone. No one talks to me anymore and I hate it. I don’t know what I did to them, or what I did to myself to make them hate me.”
“Let me tell you a little secret, Kiddo.” Keishin said softly, brushing a stray hair out of your face. “You don’t have to change a thing just because someone is upset with you. It doesn’t mean that you’re the problem. They could very well be going through some personal issues.” He explained.
“You’re not at fault here, (Y/N). You’ve done absolutely nothing to make them not like you. If they’re being immature, fine. I know it’s not easy at this age, but I urge you to move forward. Friends come and go, and it seems that these ones aren’t truly your friends.”
“If they don’t explain to you what’s been happening with them, please do not stay in a place that makes you panic like this. Plus, if you need any help making new friends, I know a group of 12 pretty cool people.” He finished his speech with a ruffle to your hair.
You chuckled softly and returned his hug. “Thank you, Coach.”
“There’s that smile.” Ukai said with a grin of his own. “You’re very welcome. If you need anything else, don’t be a stranger. If you need a little time to recollect yourself before practice, feel free to go to the club room and do what you need.”
Your friends may not have been there when you needed them, but you knew in your heart that you’d always have your boys and your coaches.

»Well, Suga? Do you already know when (y/n) is coming?«, asked the captain, who was also his best friend.
»They wanted to be there 15 minutes ago, but you know what the traffic is like at that time …«, Kōshi answered him.
»Yes you are right. I hope they’ll find a little time for me on the weekend, after all, we haven’t seen each other in ages. I want to know what happened to the little one«, laughing and with a goodbye on his lips he left the changing room and Sugawar finally started to change. His thoughts, which revolved around Daichi and (y/n), left him no peace.
As the student left the locker room he could hear roaring laughter from the hall. So he turned his face to the source of the noise to see his partner with his best friend. Daichis arm was wrapped around their shoulders and (y/n)'s hand was around his waist for support. This image burned into Kōshi's brain like no other before. He stopped in the middle of his movement. Damn it, what’s that supposed to be? How can they do that?
Terrible memories flickered in his mind’s eye and there was only one option left in his head: Get away from here!
↳ time skip 𖦹
»(Y/n)-senpai, what are you doing here? We haven’t seen each other in ages!«, a very familiar voice called from across the hall.
»Tanaka, how often? You should let go of this idiotic politeness!«, you turned to him.
»Holy kami-sama; stand by me! Tanaka Ryūnosuke, what the hell did you do with your hair?«, the brown-haired next to you had to laugh.
»Right, you didn’t know anything about it. Shortly after you switched schools, Tanaka shaved off his hair and has been doing it ever since«, you had to recover from your brief shock, but then you took a closer look at the younger student.
»You shocked me. But on second glance, you look really good with it«, you smiled slightly at him, »To get back to your question … I’m waiting for Kōshi, he’s still changing.«
A confused look spreads across Tanaka’s face: »Are you sure? On the way here he ran towards me; towards the parking lot«, Daichi and yourself exchanged looks and started running at the same time.
»Thanks Tanaka. We’ll definitely see each other again at the training camp with Nekoma!«, you screamed before you finally left the hall.
You couldn’t find your boyfriend in the parking spot, the same could be said of his car. You tried to reach him on his phone, but to no avail; he just let the phone ring - all the way to his mailbox.
»What’s going on with Kōshi all of a sudden? Why does he just leave me here - without saying anything?«, Daichi shrugged, »I have no Idea…«
»And what do I do now?«, it came out of your mouth.
»You come to me first. I’m sure, my parents don’t mind. Apparently something upset him. It must have been really bad when he just ran away without a word… I’ll drive you to him tomorrow, okay? When he has cooled down a bit.«
»Thank you, Daichi. What would I do without you?«, you smiled at him.
»For you always, small-chan«, he returned.
»Sometimes I really hate you I’m not that small at all, asshole!«, you mumbled.
»Did you say something I understand you so badly from up here«, apparently he thought his joke was so good that he doubled over to laugh.
»Idiot, and he became captain…«
↳ time skip 𖦹
»Look, I found some ice cream in the freezer«, grinning, the volleyball player almost held the cup in your face.
»Thank you, Daichi. That’s exactly what I need now…«
»What movie do you want to see?«, he went to the shelf with the DVDs and Blu-rays, »Wait, let me guess… (y/fav movie)?«, you rolled my eyes demonstratively.
»How did you know?«, together you watched the film that you had already seen as children with Kōshi… Kōshi..., it went through your head. I hope he’s fine, maybe I should… so he knows I’m fine.
Why am I so nice? He just left me there…
You picked up your phone, which was on the dresser next to the couch and took a picture of Daichi’s television in front of which he was sitting. You also tagged the volleyball player and wrote Childhood memories on it before you posted it. During the movie you both were gossiping a bit and Daichi told you all that you had missed. Shortly before the end of the film, you fell asleep - your thoughts on Sugawara.

»Hey, (y/n). Wake up!«, you just grumbled.
»Come on, Crackhead. It’s already 10 o'clock and I promised Kiyoko that I would help her with the papers from the club, so get up. We still have half an hour«, you remembered where you was and why. Kōshi, right… There was something.
Together you both got ready, ate breakfast and went to Daichi’s car.
»You know, Daichi… I was rather worried yesterday, but now I’m angry again. I mean, how can he just leave me like that? I’m his partner and haven’t seen him in over a month; I missed him, really. And he just runs away… What did I do that he left me like this?«
»Since the Akki thing, I just don’t know what’s going on in his head. But I’m sure he had a good reason for it. He loves you, he would never leave you just like that for no reason«, although Daichi had never found out what exactly had happened between Sugawara and Akki, he had always an inkling that it was nothing good.
»Yes, you’re right… maybe…«, so the conversation was over and the rest of the ride was in silence.
↳ time skip 𖦹
»So here we are!«, the closer the car got to the house, the angrier you got again. You didn’t even really know why. Surely Kōshi had a reasonable explanation for his behavior - at least you hoped.
»Thanks for driving, Daichi!«, you got out, »I hope to see you again soon«, with that you closed the door of the car and ran up the four flights of stairs to the front porch of the house. From the left jacket pocket you took your key ring on which the key to the Kōshis front door was hanging. Your emotional chaos had gone down a bit again. God, do I have mood swings or something?
You opened the door, took off your jacket, street shoes and the slippers that were meant for you, on. Then you went into the living room in which you found your boyfriend. Wrapped in a blanket with deep, dark circles under the eyes and a half-empty bottle of sake next to him.
»What’s going on here?! Besides, tell me, what are you thinking about letting me stand all alone at this goddamn gym at night?!«, you shouted at him, completely disconcerted. Sugawara, however, just looked at you monotonously.
»Do you think I wanted to watch Daichi and you flirt, or what?«, he asked quietly, starting in front of him on the black screen of the television.
»Kōshi, what the fuck are you talking about?«, you asked pissed off and sat down on the other end of the couch.
»In the end you slept with him too, didn’t you? That was your fucking plan from the start!«, now you didn’t understand anything anymore. Did I say anything to Daichi yesterday that Kōshi could have misunderstood?
»You just wanted to get to him, didn’t you? You got what you wanted so go back to him again! Get lost!«, an idea occurred to you, you were pretty sure what caused his behavior. You moved closer to him so that your knees were almost touching, which made him look even more annoyed.
»Did he reject you, or why are you here, (y/n)?«, his words were getting really ugly.
»Kōshi, stop saying that… you know this is not true«, now he looked at you a little confused, as if Suga didn’t know how to react.
»Come here and we’ll talk«, he wouldn’t refuse your offer, you were sure of that. Kōshi hated arguments and if he was honest with himself he also knew that you were never hitting on Daichi.
After a moment he came out of the blanket and you took him in your arms. You slowly let yourself fall back while you gently ran a hand through his hair.
»Is it because of Akki?«, you asked directly.
Akki was Suga’s girlfriend in there third year of middle school and still a little in there first year of high school. The problem was, none of you all had seen that this little bitch was really only interested in Daichi.
Even in the first year of middle school she was into him, but couldn’t get close, so she tried to make friends with me, which unfortunately worked. When Daichi still showed no interest, she just turned to Kōshi. At some point, the gray-haired one and you noticed that Akki was almost drooling after Daichi… Of course, Suga confronted her with the hope that everything was okay after all. Well, it wasn’t.
She yelled at him. Said she would hate him and find him disgusting. How naive and stupid he could be, she asked him. Akki said things like: I was only taking advantage of you, no one will ever love you if they can have Daichi and so on. I noticed a few things, but not a lot, because I just came into the house with the spare key.
Suga had changed a lot since then. At first he felt betrayed by Daichi, but after a short time he understood that it was not his best friend’s fault.
Lost in your thoughts, you hardly noticed your boyfriend nod.
»Damn, Suga! I am not your ex…«, you grumbled at him. I really don’t want to be compared to this weird lunatic.
»I know, I don’t want to say that either, but yesterday… Everything just came up, (y/n). I don’t know what was going on either… You both suddenly looked so close. It wasn’t up to you, I… I…«, he was slowly beginning to realize how stupid his reaction was.
»Suga, Daichi and I are friends. I’ve known him a lot longer than you do. If I had feelings for him, I shouldn’t have used you for it. I haven’t seen him in a long time. We just talked to each other and laughed a little«, you explained to him and ran your hand down to his back because you knew exactly how much Kōshi liked that.
»You had your arm like this and then he had…«, he suddenly fell silent to take a short breath, »I just don’t want this to happen again. I really love you. And I know you’re not Akki, but somehow it got so stuck in my head… I can’t help it, I’m sorry, honestly. Please don’t go back to him, don’t be mad«, now Kōshi pulled you down and closer to him.
»Hey, Suga. Everything is fine. I knew exactly what I was getting myself into. It’s okay, really! Next time you get this panic, talk to me, yeah? I would never leave you for Daichi. Not just because he’s not my type, but because I love you, Kōshi. Honest and sincere. And even if Daichi was into me, or whatever, I would stay with you. I’ve never used you to get to Daichi, after all, I’ve known him longer than you. Besides, I wouldn’t even throw that at you if we argued a lot, right? Because, firstly, it would be a lie and, secondly, your feelings are important to me«, you tried to make it clear to him, apparently it worked too, because he nodded.
»I’m really sorry for all of this, (y/n). I really don’t know where that came from all of a sudden…«, he apologized again.
»Stop apologizing, it’s not your fault. You can’t help that Akki is such a psycho!«, you smiled and snuggled a little closer to his chest.
»The weekend isn’t over yet, let’s enjoy the rest of it, okay?«

sugawara has always harbored a great love of autumn. everything about the season fill his heart with joy and comfort, and this happiness is only exacerbated by the fact that it was autumn when he truly got to know you.
it was when the leaves turned red and fluttered delicately to the floor when he first truly saw you; you were surrounded by the warm and golden hues, the afternoon sunlight casting a gentle glow across your features. in that moment, you were ethereal. and sugawara's heart was captured.
a love of autumn flavors was what you first bonded over. excitement over the seasonal delights at local cafes - the spiced coffee, warm apple cider, and fresh baked pies. you spent countless afternoons baking with sugawara, casting a comforting aroma through your kitchens, laughing and smiling and falling in love.
the cold weather was what prompted sugawara to make a move. it's no secret he loved the chill in the air, giving him reason to layer sweaters and scarves, softly colored knit a staple of his autumn ensemble. and when you managed to forget one of your own, he insisted that you take his to keep you warm. it was a subtle hint and what he felt for you, but it spoke volumes.
it was in autumn that sugawara fell in love. and, in hindsight, meeting his favorite person during his favorite season was the best thing that ever happened to him.

Suga knew that if there was ever a day that he wanted to be absolutely perfect, it was this one. Maybe he hadn’t needed to spend that much time in front of the mirror fixing his hair and straightening his tie, but that was probably more the result of nerves than any real concern over his appearance. Confidence had never been a huge problem for him. It was just that today was kind of a big deal. You were either going to say ‘yes’ or ‘no’ to having him forever, and that kind of pressure was hard to laugh off.
“Wow!” His eyes go wide when you step out of your front door. You had offered to meet him at the spot he’d made reservations, but he wouldn’t hear of it. He had been adamant about picking you up so he could hold your hand as he drove you both to the restaurant together. “You never fail to take my breath away.”
Your shy smile made his heart skip in his chest and it made him long for the opportunity to make you feel special every single day for the rest of his life. It was wildly romantic, but he didn’t care. Would there be ups and downs in your adventure together? Absolutely. But he had no interest in navigating through life’s curveballs with anyone else. He was sure of that. So sure, in fact, that he now had a tiny ring in his pocket to prove it.
He did his best not to seem too jittery through dinner. The last thing he wanted was for you to think something was wrong. Thankfully, you made it so easy to be present and in the moment. He couldn’t help but be captivated by you as you complained about people at work and snickered over something silly you and your friends had done recently.
“Wanna take a walk?” he offers his hand to you after dessert is finished and cleared from the table. You nod your head, still seemingly oblivious to what he had planned. The weather was cooperating perfectly; warm, dry, no wind. He couldn’t ask for more ideal conditions.
“I love you.” The words tumble from his mouth before he’s really prepared for them. He knew he wasn’t patient enough for a long, elaborate speech, so he decided to just speak his truth. He turns to take your hands into his and look you in the eyes. “I love you more and more every single day. What we’ve created together so far is so incredibly special, and I know it can only get better from here. I want to spend the rest of my life with you…”
He lets go of one of your hands to reach into his pocket and pull out the small box. “If you feel the same…” He kneels down onto one knee in front of you, a smile on his face despite the nerves. “Would you marry me?”

“Spotlight” - Idol!Koushi Sugawara x reader
Tumblr media
Summary: They used to be close when they were kids, but as time went on they grew more and more apart. After high school, they went their separate ways without even so much as a goodbye. What will they think after meeting up again after so long?
Word Count: 5200+
Warnings: not much of any, slight angst
a/n: not proofread. Also I don’t know how idols or idols-the-like work. This is a bit of an older story, I wrote a while ago.
Main Masterlist
Chapter One
“We’ll be best friends forever right, Suga?” A small girl asked a young boy with silver hair who had been standing next to her.
He turned to her and grinned as big as he possibly could. “Yep. Forever.”
The girl followed in his footsteps and grinned then brought the boy into a tight hug which caused them both to tumble to the grass.
They pulled away, their laughter filling the summer air as the sun shined down on them with gentle rays.
A grown woman laid on her bed, positioned on her stomach as she watched a live performance on her phone. She watched a young man with silver hair, standing on stage singing one of the most beautiful songs she’d ever heard.
Her memories were flooding back just like every other time she had watched him sing.
She remembered them as children, playing at the park, when life was simpler. Oh how she had wished she could go back to those days.
The woman watched the performance come to an end, making her wish for more.
“Forever huh?”
______
Y/N was awoken to the sound of her alarm. She begrudgingly turned over to face her nightstand and picked up her phone then turned off the alarm.
She plopped her face into her pillow as she laid there for a few minutes before willing herself out of bed.
It was roughly 6:15 in the morning and she started working at 7:30. Since it would take her a bit to get to work, Y/N woke up earlier than was really necessary.
The young woman headed to her bathroom to brush her teeth and that was how her day began.
After that, she got dressed, grabbed her bag and headed out the door.
As she was locking her door, a much older woman approached from the right.
“Good morning, Dear.”
Y/N turned her head. “Good Morning, Ms. Sachiko.”
The old woman smiled. “Did you get enough sleep last night?”
“I slept well enough.” Y/N responded bashfully as she rubbed the back of her neck.
Ms. Sachiko shook her head a bit. “You need to take better care of yourself. I know that Sugawara character is attractive and a good singer, but if you keep staying up late to watch his performance, you might pass out on the street somewhere.”
Y/N suddenly felt her cheeks flare with heat. “I-I have no idea w-what you’re talking about.” She then tried to look anywhere else except at the smirking old lady then she looked down to her watch. “Oh would you like at the time, I’d better get going or I’ll be late! See ya later, Ms. Sachiko!”
And just like that Y/N took off down the apartments and down the street.
Once she was clear of the apartment complex, Y/N slowed her jog to a casual walk.
‘She knows me too well…” She thought to herself then quickly shaking her head of her thoughts.
Soon she saw the familiar sign of the bus stop and waited next to it. It was a rather nice neighborhood so she didn’t worry too much about the people around her getting on the bus as well.
The bus showed up a few minutes later, and Y/N was quick to board.
She took a seat next to the window, watching the buildings pass as the morning sun was shining brightly. The way the light reflected off the glass building always reminded Y/N of those animated movies she loved, the ones that make everything look so beautiful and simple.
While her life wasn’t so difficult, sometimes she thought it could be better. Especially since everyday she thought of the same person. He was the first thing she thought about when she'd wake up and the last thing when she’d fall asleep.
Her dear friend Koushi Sugawara, who was a famous singer.
Who would have thought? She used to be close friends with the guy. Though no one would believe her if she told them. And if they did, they’d probably think she was in love with him or something.
But it wasn’t like that. Y/N just found herself missing his presence, his smile, his laugh, the times they used to spend together.
They were just friends. So there was no way she could be in love with him.
Right?
Y/N stepped off the bus, lightly jogging down the sidewalk and then stood in front of a much smaller building. One only about ten stories tall compared to all the curround 20 or more story tall buildings.
She took a hold of the metal door handle, and swung open the glass door. It was a bit warm outside so she was thankful that it was a little cooler inside the office building.
The young woman casually walked over to the already opened elevator and hopped inside as she thought it might close on her at any minute.
Her eyes watched as a few more people she didn’t recognize, crowd inside the elevator. A couple of them pressing a different floor than her own.
And bracing herself, Y/N felt the metal box shift as it lifted them from the ground floor and up.
As Y/N waited for the elevator to reach her floor, she felt her phone buzz in her back jean pocket. She reached back and swiftly pulled the phone out.
Immediately she knew that it was an email, based on the logo of notification which wasn’t too exciting. However when she saw the subject title for the email, her heart nearly jumped from her chest.
Krimson Concerts.
She rushed to open the email and read through the text. In big, bold letters read; “Your VIP ticket is ready!”
The world seemed to stop for a split second before it all came rushing back. Y/N couldn’t help the enormous grin that was forcing on her face.
She knew she must have looked like a love sick idiot, but she could care less. It had been a full four months since she ordered her ticket and she wasn’t even sure that she’d get them but luck was on her side today!
Almost as soon as the elevator doors opened onto the third floor, Y/N rushed out and skipped down the path leading straight past the cubicles.
She was so excited that she even skipped all the way to her desk, stripping herself of her satchel and heading into the office kitchen.
The coffee pot was already sitting on top of the burner so Y/N grabbed ahold of the handle and poured herself some coffee into a paper cup. She didn't care much for bringing her own coffee mug.
“You’re in a good mood.” A voice said from behind.
Y/N whipped her head over her shoulder then smiled once she recognized the figure. Her dear friend Kiyoko.
“Well that’s because I just got an email from Krimson Concerts.” Y/N said, her grin growing in size.
Kiyoko leaned against the kitchen counter, crossing her arms over her chest. “And?”
The y/h/c looked up to meet Kiyoko’s eyes. “I got the VIP ticket.”
Kiyoko’s jaw almost dropped to the floor upon hearing that.
“I know, I know! I’m so excited!” Y/N giggled as she made sure to steady her coffee.
“Heck yeah! That’s awesome!” Kiyoko raised her hand up in a high five which Y/N reciprocated, smacking her hand against Kiyoko’s.
“So when’s the concert?” Kiyoko asked before trailing after Y/N as she made her way back to her desk.
Y/N set her cup on top of the cold surface of her workspace. “It’s later this afternoon, 4:30.”
“That’s so cool. And since it’s a VIP ticket, I bet the show is gonna be cooler than all his other concerts.” Kiyoko said, now leaning into the cubicle wall.
Y/N nodded after sipping her coffee. “I hope so, I didn't pay an extra thirty dollars for nothing.”
The young y/h/c proceeded to sit down in her computer chair, the squishy material compressing as Y/N rested all her weight on top of it.
“So anyway, besides the wonderful news of getting VIP tickets to an amazing concert, how was your date with Tanaka last night?” Y/N asked, watching in glee at the now slightly flustered Kiyoko.
The raven haired female fiddle with her hands. “It was really nice. He got all dressed up and took me to this really expensive restaurant.”
Y/N happily nodded in approval. “That sounds like a fun night. What’s it been like six months?”
“Yeah, going on seven.” Kiyoko bashfully replied.
“That’s awesome. You guys are so cute together.” Y/N stated as she was turning toward her computer to login.
Kiyoko giggled. “Thanks. It means a lot to have someone to talk to about these kinds of things.”
Y/N took another sip of coffee. “Don’t even worry about it. I know that you’d do the same for me.”
“You got that right.” Kiyoko smiled, lightly patting Y/N’s shoulder to emphasize her point. “Anyway, I’m gonna get to work. Let me know how the concert goes.”
“Sure thing!” Y/N nodded, as Kiyoko walked back over to her own desk.
______
Y/N was quickly packing things up when she checked her phone again. 3:30 pm.
“Ohh...I hope I can make it.” She mumbled to herself as she signed out of her work computer.
She slung her bag over her shoulder, and hurriedly made her way to the elevator. She lightly hopped in place while she waited anxiously for the elevator. Fortunately, the elevator wasn’t too far away as the doors opened nearly as soon as she pressed the button.
She stepped inside, alone this time, and pressed the button for the ground floor.
The woman continued to lightly bounce on her feet as the elevator made its way down. It could not go fast enough.
As soon as the doors opened, Y/N dashed out, accidentally bumping into someone and immediately apologizing as she was still backtracking towards the front door.
The summer sun brought a nice warm sensation on her skin as she stepped outside, a rather nice contrast to the chilly indoors of the office.
She leaped down the company steps, skipping a few stairs at a time. She didn’t even waste time with the rail.
When Y/N got down to the bustling street, she searched for a taxi and saw one approaching. She raised her hand out and the taxi drove up to the curb.
Quickly, she hopped in and looked at the driver. “Krimson Concert hall, please.”
The taxi driver nodded and immediately merged back in the lanes and started down the street.
Y/N could barely contain her excitement slash anxiousness the longer she was inside the taxi. Even though she had about an hour to get to the concert, her nerves just couldn’t relax. A small part of her wondered; was she anxious because she’d be in a large room with tons of people or was she anxious just to see him sing?
Who knows. It was probably a mixture of the two.
Traffic was starting to worsen the closer she got to the concert hall, so she ended up spending a half an hour in the backseat of the taxi. Which did nothing to ease the growing nervousness in the pit of her stomach.
“Sorry for the traffic, hope you won’t be late.” The taxi driver, who was a kind looking old man.
Y/N’s attention was suddenly drawn to the man after he spoke. She waved her hand in the air in dismissal. “Oh don’t worry about it! I still have plenty of time. Besides, it’s not like you can control the traffic.”
The old man smiled before he turned his gaze back to stare at the road, and just as he did the traffic light turned green and off they went again, down the street. Y/N looked at the lock screen; 4:15pm. This made her heart leap a little bit as she realized the concert was gonna start in fifteen minutes, but she was almost there. Just a few more-
“We’re here, Ms.” The taxi driver said, turning his head slightly to look at Y/N.
She sprinted out the taxi as soon as the words left his mouth. After she exited the car, she immediately turned to him and handed him the money.
When she went to walk away, the man was quick to stop her. “You gave me a little extra.”
The young woman smiled and waved her hands in the air again. “That’s alright, keep it! And you have a good day sir!”
Then she smiled his way and waved goodbye as she made her trip across the street.
The older man’s smile widened and he waved back. “Bless you, Ms.”
Y/N jogged up to the ticket booth, slightly startling the employee behind the glass. “I’m here to pick up my ticket. Last name L/N.”
“Okay...L/N…” The employee repeated, looking through a box of, what Y/N assumed to be already paid for tickets. When the young woman found Y/N’s ticket, her eyes lit up a bit. “You got the VIP?”
Y/N eagerly nodded.
The employee pulled out the ticket which was inside a plastic covering connected to a necklace clip. She placed it on the counter and slid it through the slot through the glass.
“Since you have a VIP ticket, as soon as you walk in, instead of going right; you’ll go left. It’ll take you to another section of the hall. They’ll ask for your ticket, just show it to them and you should be good.”
“Alright, thank you so much.” Y/N said as she slipped her VIP ticket badge on.
The employee right before Y/N walked away. “Enjoy the show!”
Y/N rushed through the hall doors along with a bustling crowd of people. Most of them were heading to the right door, but upon the instructions, Y/N went left.
A few more people were ahead of her but not many. There was a security guard standing in front of yet another door. When Y/N approached the guard, he spoke.
“Badge?”
Y/N politely lifted her’s up and received a nod of approval from quite the burly man. “You’re good.”
“Thank you.” She quickly replied, walking straight past him.
Just as the ticket booth employee had said, Y/N found herself in another section of the concert hall she had never been before. She found herself on the right most part of the hall, standing just a handful of rows away from the stage. Not once had Y/N ever been so close.
She had gone to other of Suga’s concerts before but since she always purchased regular tickets, she found herself always near the back of the hall. Still amazing, but the back nonetheless.
However, she knew that this particular concert had a special event and she wanted to experience it in full.
Especially when it involved Suga.
Y/N took out her phone to check the time again. 4:25pm. Good, the concert would start in five minutes.
She was so excited that she couldn’t help the grin spreading across her face. While she didn’t think of herself as an outrightly expressive person, emotionally, it was times like this that made her forget that a lot of the time, she was socially awkward.
Glancing all around her, Y/N noticed that most of the hall had been filled to the max. A few more people were filling in, but other than that everyone who bought a ticket was here.
Just then, the lights that had been illuminating the paths of the hall, were dimmed and bright neon lights were suddenly filling the area. Coupled with that an unfamiliar voice came over the speakers.
“Hello everybody! And welcome! I hope you all are excited because we have an awesome show to present to you guys tonight along with a special announcement for our VIP ticket holders!” The man’s voice rang out so loudly it was almost numbing.
He continued. “But enough about that! Let's give a welcome to the star of the night! The one, the only, the incredible super singer; Koushi Sugawara!”
The crowd exploded into a deafening roar of shouts and screams as Suga jogged out to the stage, all dressed up, an earpiece microphone hanging just next to his cheek, and happily waving to all his fans.
Unlike most of the crowd, Y/N resorted to not screaming. She just clapped.
“Are you guys excited or what?!” Suga excitedly asked, his voice being broadcasted through the speakers now.
In response to his question, the crowd once again went wild which in turn caused Suga to grin even wider.
After a few seconds the excited screams died down and Suga spoke again. “I’m so glad that so many of you came out here tonight. It makes me really happy to know that so many of you enjoy my songs, so let us get on with it!”
Suga cheered causing the crowd to cheer with him, however this time it took less time for the crowd to calm down as they knew Suga was about to start singing.
The lights of the stage turned to focus on the silver haired idol standing still on stage. His figure alone was standing up there as he stood in a pose that Y/N assumed he had practiced many times.
There were a few seconds of pure silence, before Suga broke out in song.
It caused the fangirls to squeal in excitement. Luckily that wasn’t really an issue as Suga's smooth voice was louder than anything else as it came through the dozens of speakers surrounding the hall.
Y/N was so in awe of him, her thoughts literally couldn’t fathom anything else.
Yes, she had seen many of his performances, and yes they were all amazing, but this was different. Somehow, he was bringing a new level of passion and effort into this one song. It had been a very long time since she had seen him like that.
Watching Suga sing on stage like this, made Y/N’s heart thunder in her chest as she simply watched.
She didn’t scream, shout, or cheer, all she could manage to do in this one moment was admire from afar and that was enough.
______
As always Suga had yet again delivered another stellar performance, one that had blown all his others out of the water.
When his song came to an end, the crowd did what excited crowds do and cheered. If he’d had any doubts about how he did, then the crowd should have been enough of a reminder.
He stood, sweaty and panting up on the stage as his eyes trail over all the faces in the crowd. Not one was recognizable, but it was hard to tell when he was up on stage.
“Thank you all so much!” Suga said into his microphone. “I’m glad you all enjoyed my performance, but unfortunately that is the end of my show though I hope you see you at my next show. However, my VIP people, there is more to come, just sit tight and you’ll see.”
There was murmuring of the whole crowd as the people on the left half of the hall were being escorted out of the hall by security guards. Majority of the people were just discussing the show they’d just witnessed. Girls laughing and excitedly sharing their thoughts on the entire thing. Guys admitting that the concert was better than they thought it would be.
Y/N could barely hear what anyone was saying but she did catch a few girls whining that they should’ve bought the VIP tickets. She sympathized with that because she would feel much the same way as she would be leaving the concert hall while the VIPs stayed.
However, a sudden giddiness rushed over her body as she knew that this would be the first time that she'd been a part of the VIP pass and would be a part of an event. Once the other part of the crowd had fully exited the concert hall, Suga began to speak again.
“I’d like to again thank you all for coming out here to watch my performance. And I am so happy that so many of you are excited to be a part of the VIP exclusive event.”
Without warning the crowd cheered again causing Suga to laugh.
“We’re gonna be doing something totally different from any of my other concerts. So each one of you has a series of numbers on your VIP ticket. And let me tell you, those aren’t random numbers…” Suga explained as he walked back and forth from the edges of the stage.
The crowd remained silent at Suga's explanation, including Y/N herself.
He continued. “Well they are but rather they have a different role to play in this instance. What’s gonna happen is that I’m gonna draw a random number from this bowl, which my agent will bring out to me in a second, and then I’ll list out said series of numbers.”
Y/N looked down at her VIP ticket, her mind not quite understanding what he was trying to say. She looked up and saw similar faces of confusion.
“Here is where it gets good...” Suga stopped to smile then laugh a little as he was becoming a little giddy as well. “Whoever has those exact numbers, will be attending an exclusive event organized by singers, performers and the like from all over the country with me as their escort!”
As if the crowd couldn’t get louder, the people broke out into a deafening roar. This seemed to make Suga grin even more if that were possible.
Y/N might have been disturbed by the exclaiming fans, but she wasn’t because the fact of the matter is that she was just as excited. Though instead of yelling her excitement, she stared all wide eyed with her mouth hanging open.
“It’s true! I’ve spent months setting this all up and I can’t even describe how excited I am to share this with you all!” Suga admitted while he watched the revved up fans.
“So with no more delays, could you bring out the bowl please?” Suga politely asked, as he turned his body to face the backstage.
A young man with a headset and a walkie talkie strapped to his side came out with a glass bowl with dozens of pieces of paper inside. He stood next to Suga and gestured for him to go ahead.
“Okay, here we go guys…” Suga then reached his hand into the glass bowl. He moved his hand around inside the bowl for a few seconds more before pulling out a single white card.
Y/N waited anxiously, ticket in her hand, eyes rapidly bouncing between the numbers printed on it and Suga.
“So the numbers are: 2 - 6 - 7 - 3 - 0 - 8 -”
Y/N’s breath hitched in her throat as her eyes followed the numbers on her own ticket. She couldn’t believe it, they were matching but surely it couldn’t be her’s right?
“9 - 5 - 0-”
Oh god…
“- 0 - 3.” Once Suga finished reading off the numbers, he looked up from the small piece of paper and out into the crowd.
The fans were quickly looking up and amongst themselves, as if trying to find the person after several seconds of silence went by.
Suga looked around as well and saw no one reacting. There had to be at least one person with those numbers.
“Would whoever has those numbers, please raise your arm or something so I can see?” Suga slightly chuckled at the end of his sentence, his eyes still scanning the sea of peoples.
When she heard his voice, Y/N was snapped out of her own racing thoughts and back to the silent fans.
Her hands were sweaty, her heart racing a million miles a minute, her body shaking uncontrollable. It was unfathomable. She had those numbers, she was the one chosen.
Despite her clouded mind, Y/N slowly raised her arm above her head, sticking it out as far as she could.
It was hard to tell at first, but Suga caught sight of the arm poking out. “Can I get a light over there?” He asked, pointing in Y/N’s direction.
One of the workers backstage, turned the spotlight and shined it on Y/N causing her to blink a few times to adjust to the bright light.
“You, young lady, can you please come join me on stage?” Suga extended his hand out in her direction, watching the fans parting to make a path as they started squealing again.
If it weren’t for the screaming going on around her, Y/N might not have moved from her spot, however since she was surrounded by strangers she didn’t want to annoy and the person she admired so much asked her to come onto stage, she hesitantly approached the platform.
The closer she came, the more she felt like she might pass out. She didn’t have a habit of it, but this seemed to be one of those special exceptions.
She made it to the stage and raised her shaky hand to grab Suga’s. He was smiling as he helped to bring her up onto stage, but that smile slightly waned when he got a good look at her face.
It was someone he very much recognized and someone he’d never forgotten.
She had noticed his smile wane, and it made her even more nervous. Maybe he did remember her. It was hard to tell if that was more or less embarrassing.
He’d realized that he had been staring into her bright eyes for a few seconds too long so he coughed and nervously chuckled.
“It...it uh..looks like we got a winner!” Suga tried to steady his shaky breathing as he tried to excite his fans again.
To which he succeeded and no one seemed to notice his change in demeanor. That Suga was thankful for.
Y/N just looked up, and around, and anywhere else that wasn’t her long time idol.
Suga turned himself away from Y/N and towards the crowd. “In exactly one month, we’ll be broadcasting the show live, so be sure to check it out! Alright, that’s all I got guys! Good night!” Suga waved goodbye before taking Y/N by the hand and leading her backstage.
Once they were safely behind the curtain, Suga let go of Y/N’s and took off his earpiece. He opened his mouth to say something but was interrupted when his agent and a few other crew members walked over. They were congratulating him on his new song and details of the event that he’d be attending with his guest.
While all that was happening, Y/N stood off to the side, her hand reaching across her abdomen to nervously hold her arm. It was one of those quirks she did when she was nervous or even stressed. And she was most definitely freaking out.
Her eyes remained focused on her shoes as if she found them super interesting right now. Honestly, she was willing herself not to look up at Suga. She wasn’t sure she couldn’t handle more of this.
It seemed like hours until she saw Suga approach her in her peripheral vision. She hesitantly looked up to meet his soft eyes.
“It’s been a long time, hasn’t it? Y/N.” He suddenly said.
Y/N lightly gasped, her head now fully sitting up. “You...you remember me?”
Suga laughed. “I never forgot! We were best friends!”
“Yeah, yeah I guess we were.” Y/N nodded, anxiously tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
The silver haired idol stopped laughing and looked Y/N up and down. “You look exactly how I remember you.”
This time Y/N laughed. “I can’t say the same for you. You look so different.”
“I might be famous, but I haven’t actually changed all that much.” Suga admitted a bit bashful.
“I can believe that. You act the same as before. Still so gentle.”
“Well you know me, I always stick to who I really am.” Suga smiled, wiping his forehead with a towel he had received from his agent.
There was a pause between the conversation as Y/N wasn’t sure what else to say and it seemed to be the same for Suga causing them to stand in awkward silence.
This was weird.
It wasn’t too long though before Suga started talking again. “You know, I’d love to catch up. Tell you all about what I’ve been doing the past several years. And I’d like to hear about what you’ve been up to.”
“O-oh! Yeah sure. I’d like that.” The young y/h/c answered, clearly flustered.
“Great! Does now work for you?” Suga then asked, walking over to a little table off to the side that had a bunch of water bottles sitting on top of it. He took one in his hand and began to unscrew the cap.
Y/N felt her heart leap again. “Y-you mean r-right now?” She stuttered out, her jacket beginning to become near unbreakable as she sweated up a storm.
“Why not? I mean I don’t have anywhere I need to be, and I assume you at least took some time out of your schedule to be here.” Suga stated, then took several gulps from his water bottle.
When he swallowed the last bit of water, his expression suddenly changed to one of disappointment. “Unless you have other plans.”
Seeing him disappointed, reminded Y/N of when they were back in school.  Every time she’d see that look on his face, she never resisted the urge to make him feel better.
Now was no different.
“No! Of course I don’t. I only got off work a little bit ago, and your concert was really the only plan I had for the day.” Y/N explained pressing her hand to the back of her neck to somehow release the tension building inside her body.
Suga lit up. He twisted the cap back onto the bottle and sat it back on the table. “Awesome! You want to grab some dinner? You still burgers?” He pointedly asked the very flustered young woman.
Y/N chuckled as she wiped her forehead with her long sleeve. “You remembered that too?”
“I told you. I never forgot.” Suga walked up to Y/N, resting his hand on her shoulder. “We’re friends.”
The y/h/c felt a wave of heat rush through her veins up into her face. The place where his hand was resting was burning, but not in a bad way. It was in such a way that she wished he’d never go.
All she could manage was a nod as she took solace in gazing somewhere else.
Her reaction caused Suga to laugh again. “Well let me change into some different clothes, and then we can go get dinner.”
He walked off, obviously taking his hand off Y/N's shoulders, and disappeared into another room which she assumed was the dressing room.
In the few seconds it took for Suga to walk away, Y/N stood alone backstage.
A few stage workers walked past her but didn’t acknowledge her presence. Not that she minded. In fact, she preferred it that way because they wouldn’t ask about her blushing face or why she was resting her hand on her own shoulder, gripping at the fabric, missing his touch.
