how i think bsd characters would hug: ada edition

atsushi: his hugs would be relatively standard but they’d be so comforting! he’s a person who would give you one little extra squeeze before letting go ♡ his hugs vary in length but if you wanted it he could cling to you for hours.

dazai: he doesn’t seem like a hugger to me, unless you’re his s/o, so i guess you’re lucky to receive them! dazai’s hugs would be gentle and protective. he would rub your back and talk to you while he hugs you (mostly affirmative and comforting stuff). tucks your head under his chin.

kunikida: i love this man to the moon and back but his hugs would probably be bad at first. i’m sorry but he’d give you like a pat on the back and that would be it T-T as your s/o though he would give really good firm hugs. it’d feel like you’re being shielded with safety and support ♡ in other words, an ideal hug.

jun’ichiro: he would give tight hugs that make you feel wanted and that really emphasise his gratitude for your existence. though if you hugged him for too long you might start turning blue. other than that he’d give you SUPERB shoulder rubs.

kenji (platonic): kenji thinks he’s giving you a regular ol’ hug. in reality he is suffocating you. please tell him he’s suffocating you, he’ll smile and give you a little apology and loosen his grip. once he does it’ll be a nice hug! kenji radiates comfort energy.

haruno (platonic): haruno is probably the perfect hugger. she gives the best hugs! they’re always as chill or as intense as you need them to be, and you can feel her love every time she hugs you. when she’s excited she’d hug similar to naomi.

katai: his hugs are unintentionally a bit too much. like he will wrap his entire wingspan around you like a shield. his intentions are to make you feel loved, and although he’s an awkward hugger the message definitely gets across ♡ if you’re in his futon together he’d squish you like a body pillow.

fukuzawa: he isn’t a firm hugger but he isn’t a loose hugger if that makes sense? he’ll place his hands on your back or on your head and make you feel appreciated. his hugs are an indirect promise to protect you, always. give him a random squeeze and you might just surprise him.

anyway atsushi who keeps his eyes closed around ppl he feels safe with - so mostly the agency

kunikida sees him first and assumes he's napping and 'wakes him up' and atsushi, who doesn't realize yet why he's doing it is a little embarrassed

kunikida notices it again when theyre walking to a case, atsushi squished in between him and dazai, eyes closed, and he knows that he's not napping but he also doesn't get it

dazai realizes whats up but thinks it only happens cuz of kunikida becuz surely not him

but then one day he's telling atsushi about some prank he's pulling on kunikida and atsushi is nodding along, eyes shut and he's like oh

kyouka misses all the times it happens around her just becuz its not strange to see someone lying on the couch at their home, eyes closed, so how is she supposed to know that he's only doing it becuz he feels safe ???

ranpo knows whats going on and is very pleased when atsushi sits next to him on the train to their mission with his eyes closed - until they accidentally missed their stop becuz ranpo didn't know where they were going

when it happens to ranpo, everyone starts picking up that somethings going on

dazai and ranpo know for sure - and through ranpo yosano knows too - and everyone knows atsushi closes his eyes around them for some reason but they arent really sure why

atsushi doesn't close his eyes around yosano - not until theyre hanging out and yosano takes her long white coat off and leaves it behind becuz she doesn't need it and in minutes atsushi is at complete ease around her

junichiro keeps his hand on atsushi's arm when theyre walking or in public so that if atsushi's eyes are closed he doesn't bump into anything or anyone

kenji initially thinks that atsushi is trying to mimic ranpo and yeah fair enough but then when he realizes he closes his eyes around atsushi too which does cause them to bump into each other but also its sweet so

it takes atsushi the longest to do so around fukuzawa - not becuz he has anything against the man - but becuz he's a figure w/ authority over atsushi and atsushi doesn't have the best experience. where he knows yosano well enough and only her long white coat makes him hesitate, and for all of kunikida's scolding - his hands are kind when they ruffle atsushi hair and his eyes are filled with concern as he makes sure atsushi is eating - but atsushi rarely sees the president in comparison

the first time he's in his presence with his eyes closed fukuzawa is touched

anyway

when everyone in the agency finds out what it means its like:

yosano, dazai, ranpo - already knew

kenji - figured it out

kyouka - reevaluating every time atsushi has ever closed his eyes

kunikida - bright red, spluttering remembering how often atsushi does it in his presence

junichiro - pleased and vowing to close his eyes too

haruno and naomi - "atsushi are you actually a cat who turns into a human"

anyway who else

lucy thinks he's not listening to her when he does it and when he tells her she gets flustered calls him an idiot and then gives him a present to show her own appreciation of him and then pretends to not know what he's talking about

i dont know how to describe akutagawa's reaction to his boyfriend, who he had an antagonistic and violent relationship with in the beginning, thinking that akutagawa - violent, kills without thought, weapon more than human - is safe

akutagawa's whos ability has only been a monster is able to use it in front of atsushi w/o atsushi ever thinking its unsafe

Some of Dazai's favorite things in the whole world are the moments when Atsushi and Kunikida's competing brands of being socially out of the loop collide. Atsushi was essentially incarcerated in an orphanage until he was 18 while Kunikida has always been hyper-focused on his ideals and goals. Whenever Atsushi runs into some slang or a meme he doesn't understand he asks Jun'ichirō or Yosano about it.

(He avoids asking Dazai 'cause he knows Dazai will just lie to amuse himself.)

When Juni and the doctor are unavailable, though, he asks Kunikida. That's normally fine, but when the questions veer into the crude and obscene without either of them knowing, amazing things happen. Dazai still hasn't recovered from the time a case led the agency to monitor an American message board with a little help from Google translate — and no help from Dazai despite him being fluent in English. Atsushi looked up at Kunikida and initiated an exchange that changed Dazai's life forever.

"Kunikida-san, what's a 'Cleveland Steamer'?"

"I don't know. Is it relevant to the case?"

"Maybe?"

"Hold on, I'll Google it."

Dazai's ribs hurt for days afterward.

Rating bsd characters (ADA) based on how likely I think they are to fall asleep on you

(This is mainly while you're in work at the agency, but if you want to think of it as anywhere, do so as you will)

Atsushi Nakajima

5/10

-He gets a little stressed sometimes, with all that fighting it's definitely tiring

-He rests on your shoulder (next to you) and slowly falls asleep

-I think he'd be a pretty heavy sleeper, so if you need to move him, he won't wake up from it

-Stays asleep for around thirty minutes to an hour before waking up

-Barely moves in his sleep, but occasionally shifts his head slightly

-I don't think he'd really make any noise, but he would quietly mumble a few things in his sleep sometimes

Overall he is very easy to deal with when he is asleep, and he doesn't get too many nightmares unless the day has been horrible for him.

Dazai Osamu

7/10

-Anything to get out of work tbh

-Half of the time he's just pretending to sleep

-He just wants the comfort as well as not doing work

-Doesn't really speak the entire time, and his head is resting on your chest (closer to your collarbone)

-Suddenly this is normal behavior for him

-He is a very light sleeper, but depending on how tired he really is, he could be more of a heavy sleeper

-When he is actually asleep instead of pretending, he unfortunately gets a lot of nightmares

-If the nightmares continue on, he may start to silently cry in his sleep

-Just wake him up if he does start crying, or if you think he's having a nightmare

-He speaks sometimes when having nightmares, but if they get worse, he may scream or yell instead of just speaking

-Hugs you tighter in his sleep without realizing, also buries his head into you without realizing as well

-Just hug him back, he'll do a little better, asleep or not

He is not horrible when asleep, unless he gets nightmares, but other than that he just clings to you as if he's afraid of letting you go.

Kunikida Doppo

-Considers it unprofessional to do so in the workplace

-He does wear himself out sometimes, so he can get slightly more tired than usual

-When you notice he's tired, he tries to say he's fine, but he just isn't the best at lying

-Sighs, and then hugs you, while resting his head on your shoulder (facing towards you)

-Slowly but surely falls asleep

-This rarely happens, and multiple people (mainly Yosano and Dazai) like to tease him for it when it does actually happen

-Wakes up and immediately looks at his ideals to make sure his schedule wasn't messed up

-It wasn't, and he apologized for sleeping on you

-He then gets up to continue his work at the desk

-Internally screaming and madly blushing because of the interaction though

-Slowly calms down, but Dazai and Yosano start teasing him, and now he's more red

-Save this man from Dazai and Yosano I beg

Decent sleeper, but panics slightly when he wakes up, because he didn't realize he was falling asleep in the first place. He ever so slightly clings onto you in a hug while sleeping as well.

Ranpo Edogawa

-He didn't have any cases left at the moment, and felt bored

-So naturally he goes up to where you are, and rests his head on your lap

-He gets cozy, and falls asleep

-Is a very heavy sleeper, so good luck trying to wake him up if you need to

-Doesn't speak in his sleep, but does rest comfortably

-All you can really hear from him is his breathing

-Only wakes up when Kunikida has to yell at him to wake up and get back to work

Very heavy sleeper, but is still very calm and nothing really disturbs his sleep (unless a yelling Kunikida appears)

Yosano Akiko (Potentially OOC)

5/10

-Being a doctor is hard sometimes, honestly

-Although she mainly goes shopping after a stressful time, sometimes she takes a break in different ways

-That is, by resting her head on your lap, and closing her eyes, sighing calmly (occasionally, she sleeps on your chest, with her head turned to listen to your heartbeat, which calms her)

-She does sometimes request for you to run your hands through her hair

-She's a pretty light sleeper, but doesn't wake up extremely fast

-The only thing that could disturb her sleep is the time she was 11, with Mori there

-She wakes up slightly stressed after those dreams

-If you play with her hair, and talk to her quietly about how she's okay, and you're right there with her, she'll calm down slowly

-Will ask to just hold you hand, while she starts to inspect for injuries anywhere on your arm and hand

-It's oddly therapeutic for her to check for injuries on people, mainly ones she cares for though

While her past can haunt her dreams sometimes, it's actually somewhat rare, but you making an effort to calm her down really helps her more.

Junichiro Tanizaki (Potentially OOC)

3/10

-He rests his head on your shoulder and falls asleep

-It doesn't take him too long to fall asleep

-He's a light sleeper, and sleeps comfortably

-He wakes up after around half an hour

-Quickly apologizes for accidentally falling asleep

-Him falling asleep on you happens very rarely

-He does move on with his day afterwards, but is still a bit embarrassed about what happened

-Que Naomi teasing him, because she witnessed the whole thing, and took pictures

-Covering face with sleeves, he can't handle the embarrassment of the pictures

He's okay while asleep, but he's very embarrassed about it when he wakes up. Maybe it's best to not mention it to him in the future

Naomi Tanizaki (Potentially OOC)

2/10

-I doubt she'd ever sleep on you, but just like her brother, she'd also fall asleep on your shoulder

-She'd also be hugging you while asleep (one arm around your shoulder, the other around your waist, she was facing towards you)

-She is a light sleeper, and is also sleeping comfortably

-She does not speak that much in her sleep, but she does mumble sometimes

-After waking up, she continues to stay hugging you

-She will get up to continue working eventually, but for now, she's hugging you

She's a peaceful sleeper, but does like to hug and cuddle you as she sleeps.

Fukuzawa Yukichi (Might be somewhat OOC)

-He's got a lot of work, and can not just fall asleep as the president of the ADA

-However, instead of sleeping on you at the agency, there are a few times he sleeps on you at home

-He rests his head on your lap, slowly falling asleep

-He is a light sleeper, and if you were to say his name once, he would immediately wake up

-He sleeps peacefully, and feels comforted by you just being there

-If you run your fingers through his hair, it just makes him all the more peaceful

-He doesn't speak in his sleep, and barely moves in his sleep as well

-Your presence comforts him as he sleeps, and he knows you're safe in that moment because you're there

He hasn't really fallen asleep while at the agency, but when it's just you two at your house, he's does sleep.

Kenji Miyazawa (Potentially OOC. Also, everything to do with him is platonic, the most you do is just hold hands and hug, I will be adding this to practically everything he's in, just for clarification. The meaning of platonic for those who don't know is, "of love or friendship, intimate and affectionate but not sexual.")

-He gets tired after eating, so it wouldn't be surprising for him to be sleeping next to you

-Falls asleep while resting his head on your shoulder

-He is a very heavy sleeper, yet sleeps comfortably and peacefully

-He barely moves, and mumbles very quietly

-Can sleep for hours at a time, so you might have to move him

-If you do move him, that's fine, he won't wake up anyways

-He wakes up after a long time, and will mention, with a smile on his face, that it was very comfortable to sleep on your shoulder

The heaviest sleeper on the list, and definitely would not wake up even if you were loud.

Kyoka Izumi (Might be OOC. Also, just like Kenji, this is strictly platonic, the most you guys do is hug and hold hands, nothing more. I will be mentioning this to practically every post with her, for clarification. Again, platonic means "of love or friendship, intimate and affectionate but not sexual" for those who don't know)

-I feel like she'd stay awake around everyone, unless she's really comfortable around them

-As she got closer to you, she felt herself slowly get tired around you, feeling a sense of comfort

-She would rest her head on your shoulder, and fall asleep quickly

-She finds it easier to sleep around you, but mainly when you two aren't near many people

-If there's multiple people around, she struggles to fall asleep, unless she's comfortable enough around them too

Sometimes Demon Snow likes to be next to Kyoka as she sleeps, so don't freak out if you just see Demon Snow there.

The reason why we never see Junichiro with an actual weapon is because he is absolutely under no circumstances allowed to have one.

Gun privileges were gone within the first 12 hours of him getting a permit and he got away with a pocket knife for a whole week until Kunikida took that too.

Unlike members of the agency like Dazai or Atsushi who are permitted to carry a firearm in very dangerous situations with a small lecture on gun safety, Junichiro can only earn his pocket knife back in life or death situations if he’s been well behaved the previous month.

ADA secret santa . . . .ᐟ

cw: crack, everyone is a menace, no reader included, probably some ooc, language, alcohol, drug mentions, suggestive gifts but nothing strictly nsfw, this is really just silliness

reid: happy christmas to those who celebrate! this was fun to write and think about i hope you guys enjoy and get a kick out of imagining this chaotic group being a dysfunctional family as much as i do

first things first: who gets who?

just like everything else at the agency, it’s a fucking ordeal.

dazai writes down everyone’s names to draw out of kenji’s hat, but he’s given them all nicknames, some more horrendous than others, and kunikida’s standing at the whiteboard writing down everyone’s favorite colors and t-shirt sizes when naomi pulls a name and asks, “who is ‘bawss bitch’?”

“president fukuzawa, duh,” dazai chirps.

cue face-palms and eye-rolls around the room.

“naomi, draw again. the whole point is that no one else kn-“

“thanks, ranpo, we know the point.” yosano reaches into the hat for herself. “who is . . . ‘tightass’?”

everyone glances to kunikida, who freezes and turns slowly, threateningly, toward the bandaged menace.

dazai tries so hard to contain his laugh, but ends up snorting unceremoniously.

so, commence kunikida choking him out and demanding he write down everyone’s proper goddamn names so they all know what the hell is going on. atsushi’s on it, copying everyone’s legal, government-registered first and last name down onto one sticky note each, and the drawing restarts.

names are distributed. instructions follow. yosano lovingly requests the biggest bottle of tequila the budget will allow.

the office party will start on christmas eve at 6pm.

. . .

naomi’s forcing junichiro into the ugliest, most uncomfortable-looking matching sweater anyone in the office has ever seen in all of their days (it’s got glitter-hot glue balls and messily sown-in sequins all over it. it’s hard to tell if it depicts something festive or if it’s the cover of lil wayne’s 1999 studio album tha block is hot).

yosano has cracked into the bottle of wine she’s kept stashed under her desk all day and is drinking straight from it.

ranpo’s encouraging her to chug while he makes a sizable dent in the huge tray of cookies provided by fukuzawa.

atsushi’s on the verge of tears because he’s never celebrated christmas with anyone who cares about him before, and kenji’s doing a mediocre job at consoling him.

dazai has brought eggnog and announces to everyone, at the exact moment that kunikida finishes off his third glass, that it’s spiked.

kyoka’s dragging haruno toward the group, where she places a reindeer antler-headband atop the older girl’s head. kyoka smiles so purely at her. it puts the fear of god into poor haruno.

it is 6:08pm.

once junichiro’s in his sweater and thoroughly suffering and atsushi’s stopped hiccuping, fukuzawa summons everyone around the tiny office tree for secret santa.

and here’s who got who.

. . .

president fukuzawa has drawn ranpo’s name for the third year in a row. he always goes with some sort of snack, but this year he found these on etsy and couldn’t resist.

the boss lets out a chuckle. everyone is jazzed. atsushi covers kyoka’s eyes. ranpo sticks his tongue out at fukuzawa (but cracks into the bag immediately).

. . .

ranpo drew yosano.

yosano lets out an unhinged laugh and puts it on. ranpo, mouth full of gummy dicks, lovingly retrieves a bottle of tequila from hiding. already half a bottle of wine and two glasses of eggnog in, yosano throws her arms around the great detective for a siblingly hug. atsushi is covering kyoka’s eyes again. he wonders if he’ll have to do this for every present.

. . .

yosano got kunikida.

“sorry, I couldn’t find an actual prescription.” kunikida’s lips are pursed in disappointment, not out of lack of appreciation but for shame in her joke. everyone knows it holds weight. dazai is on his ass laughing. kunikida remarks how he’s been needing a back pillow for his desk chair anyway. atsushi has his head in his hands.

. . .

kunikida got junichiro.

dazai and ranpo are nodding solemnly. no one is laughing because it’s true other than naomi who insists kunikida really does have a sense of humor. wow!

. . .

junichiro drew dazai’s name.

“awww!” dazai croons, holding it to his chest before going to place it on his desk next to his nameplate. “tanizaki, I’m so glad you think so.” again, everyone knows it’s true and laughs because of it this time.

. . .

dazai got fukuzawa.

it’s extra funny to dazai at this point because the boss is such a cat guy and also he and yosano have already snuck off cousins-at-thanksgiving style outside to smoke whatever (all while he’s on his way to being plastered. yosano’s the resident alcoholic, yes, but no one can ever truly contain dazai’s festive substance use). fukuzawa laughs - it has to be an effect of the alcohol on him too, everyone thinks, because no way would the stoic man ever crack a smile at such a gift let alone actually use this fucking mousepad. dazai tells him he’ll cry if he doesn’t see it on his desk next week.

. . .

a break proceeds because kunikida swears something got fucked up in the drawing process now that half of them have looped around. yosano, dazai, and ranpo are doing tequila shots. haruno explains to kunikida that it’s fine - someone had to go first - and they should just pick someone to start the second round of gifts. kunikida’s scribbling in his notebook trying to figure out what they screwed up. kenji insists that they’re already playing the game, there’s no point in trying to rewrite it now as long as everyone has a gift! kunikida looks visibly intoxicated like he’s about to pop a vein in his forehead, so kenji just laughs nervously and takes the reins. he tells kyoka to go next.

. . .

kyoka drew haruno.

it’s in a pretty purple bag, christmas spirit somewhat lost upon the child. atsushi almost starts crying again (dazai’s been slipping him eggnog). kyoka’s already assembled and glued the flower together. haruno smiles appreciatively. it will go on the front desk.

. . .

haruno got naomi.

no one expects this from haruno but it’s a huge hit, especially juxtaposed with junichiro’s gift from kunikida. it’s a book cover over a blank notebook and the only thing she apologizes for is that it doesn’t say “sibling.” naomi is red in the face and forcing a laugh. dazai and yosano are a second away from hoisting the girl up on their shoulders like she just made a winning touchdown. atsushi’s head is in his hands again.

naomi got atsushi.

new and old traditions alike arise; yosano and ranpo each gift each other $20. fukuzawa has given both of them the $20. it's a ritual they refuse to let die. dazai tries to get kunikida to do a shot out of his mouth which leads to shouting and beating. atsushi sits both of them down on the couch and forces them to drink water and be nice to each other. naomi, haruno, and junichiro pick out a christmas movie to project onto the wall as background noise; they settle on a cheesy musical hallmark movie suspiciously similar to the one they put on last year. kyoka and kenji join ranpo in raiding the dessert table. yosano is singing! she is trying to get everyone to sing with her. dazai is the only one who joins. he is wearing the i ♥️ cock(tails) hat. they start with silent night and end with skeeyee by sexyy red.

before long, drunken detectives fall into their chairs and couches with blankets and plates of sweets to get comfy for home alone 2. dazai wants a whole couch to himself but that's unfair, so he settles for stretching his gangly ass legs across kunikida and tanizaki. kyoka and kenji curl up on the floor in a pile of blankets; the girl looks on the verge of sleep. naomi and haruno squeeze into a chair; yosano finds herself flat on the ground, nearly finished bottle of wine in hand; ranpo's feet are kicked up on the nearest desk and he sits in his chair near fukuzawa, who overlooks his employees with tired satisfaction. atsushi glances around at his his colleagues, and for as unhinged as they are, he feels lucky to have a group of people so welcoming to call his friends. all is peaceful and happy, except for ranpo's incessant burping and yosano's eventual snoring. it's fine.

Dazai would be that type of guy who, if genuinely interested/in love you, would either try to avoid you as nonchalantly as possible, or try his best to make the relationship work in a positive manner. But in the end, no matter what he does, it just falls apart regardless, because while he is capable of change, old habits die hard, and even if you had the patience of a saint, eventually you would just wonder why you're still trying in the first place. He's too used to telling lies, even if it's for the best, too busy disappearing for days on end without saying so much as a word (no one wondered where this man went when he got arrested), and while his flirtatious and womanizing habits die completely, it's still so easy to be suspicious when women still come to look for him, or when his coworkers warn you. He's just too shady as a man, both the past and present breaking apart any healthy romantic relationship he may have or want.

Kunikida is the type of guy who's just too controlling. Even if you don't fit his ideal woman image, and he's still attracted to you despite this, he'll still try to mold you into the 'perfect' woman. He sees no wrong in his actions, saying that it's for the better. Fix your hair in that style, wear little makeup, wake up at this time, start to cook at that time if possible - it's too much for you, and it will always be too much for you, because at the end, you're not a doll to dress up, and he doesn't have the right to do as such. Kunikida is too strict, and he'll only realize it when you leave the next day, not even leaving a note behind.

Ranpo is too haughty, too confusing and annoying to deal with. A balanced relationship is nearly impossible with him, because his head is just so far up his ass. He wants to impress you, but he also thinks that his presence alone should be enough for that. He talks down to you, assuming you understand where he's coming from. He's prideful, and while he does calm down with everything later on, it's still out there. Relationships are confusing to him, he doesn't know how to approach them, or you, so he fumbles a little too much, insults you a little too hard. He means well, he wants to make you happy, but he's too self centered without meaning to. It's just who he is, he's capable of change, but even dealing with dazai is a bit easier, compared to Ranpo who is socially inept.

Atsushi doesn't even know how to make friends on his own. The friends he has now are only friends because they took the first step, in that direction, and he just went with the flow. It's not necessary a bad thing, but when it comes to relationships, it might be worse. He likes you, and you like him, but it's hard to understand why you're interested in him to begin with. He sees himself as worthless, his past trauma following him within the shadows, and his need for validation from you is almost too much to handle. It starts out small, asking things like 'do you like me?' 'Are you happy with me?' But delevops into something darker, needier, 'you were looking at him too long. You're not thinking of cheating on me, right?' 'Why didn't you text me back until an hour later? Are you doing something - someone?' Which leaves you in shock, never having expecting this behavior from him. You understand why he's like this, but it's suffocating, he's suffocating, and part of you feels like you're just proving him right when you break up on the spot, done with months of dealing with this, despite trying your best to prove him wrong, staying patient until even that ran out.

junichiro's relationship to his sister is too suspicious and creepy. Even so, you still said yes, because he showed he was interested in you, and started to dial down... Whatever was going on with his sister. Naomi was a sweet girl, she tries to be respectful, but you can still see the hints of disdain she has towards you, and junichiro would take her side majority of the time. He tends to ignore you for her, and sometimes it's a little too much, even it makes Namoi a bit confused and concerned. And if you take that out of the equation, there's just something dark about him in general, hidden underneath that innocent exterior he shows to everyone. His grip a little too tight, words a bit too vague, and if his sister wasn't a deal breaker, him stalking you throughout the day is. He wants to keep it healthy, but because of his nature, he tends to think and do things he shouldn't, morals gray on good days.

Fukuzawa is too busy and distant to date properly. His focus will always be on his employees, his agency he built from the ground up, and at first, it insipres you. But after a while, you start to notice there's barely any time for you, and when he is with you, he's always far away in his own world, leaving early for Ranpo. You tried to understand, but you just can't, not when he's pushing you aside for his job, and the fact he keeps everything vague about his job doesn't help.

Yosano is a sadist. There is regret, but before that is pleasure, and she enjoys hurting you a little too much. Maybe it's because she has the need to have control over something, and thus having control over how much pain she can inflict on you is comforting for her. She's beautiful, and can be sweet, but there's always a hidden gleam in those golden eyes, and her smirk has always been a bit too sinister, leaving you to wonder if saying yes was a mistake. Her hands try to be gentle, but bruises are always left behind, and by the next day they're gone, your head fully refreshed, but when you managed to wake up during the night one time, a knife above you, she can't really blame you for running.

Even after everything, the relationship with them will be nothing short of toxic.

i think this is the most spread-out they've been!!

Junichiro and Atsushi are blubbering like babies, but Atsushi doesn't drink because he wants to pay attention to you. Poe and Oda are crying many tears and having drinks, but Poe isn't drunk at all while Oda is a liiiittle tipsy.

Nikolai thinks this show is so beautiful that he tears up a bit, and then gets sloshed at the reception. Ango feels so lucky to be loved that he cries a little, and then gets a bit drunk to celebrate. Kunikida cries silent happy tears and responsibly has one drink, no more.

Akutagawa is so overwhelmed with emotions he has stored away forever that he tears up and a tear or two falls. He doesn't drink lest he end up crying more.

Fukuzawa, Dazai, Sigma tear up but nothing falls. Two of them get tipsy.

Chuuya, Mushitaro, and Fyodor are very proud to be getting married but they don't tear up. Chuuya is slaaaaaammed, whereas Fyodor is tipsy but cognizant.

Bram is very regal and sophisticated. No crying, no drinking. It's a grand performance and everyone is there to see him, he must impress.

Mori doesn't drink lest someone try to poison him and ruin his special day. No crying. He and Tachihara are grinning the whole ceremony. Tachihara gets sloppy drunk and is so happy.

the ada goes to the zoo

Kunikida: makes the perfect schedule, a gorgeous itinerary for the whole day. optimized travel routes, perfect amount of snacks distributed, a lunch stop is planned, he has an emergency bag with band aids and water and backup snacks for anyone who needs it.

now of course, the schedule falls apart immediately as everyone runs off to do their own thing. so here’s what everyone else does

Dazai actually sticks with Kunikida, keeping with his planned route, just slowing him down and pestering him the whole time. he’s 100% a little whiny baby who would complain about getting tired or hungry every two minutes.

Atsushi and Akutagawa buddy up (idk why Akutagawa’s here if it’s an ada trip but i want him here so he is now) and they both move at a snails pace, both of them staring at everything just absolutely transfixed. the big cat’s section would intrigue Atsushi greatly, and i think he would chuff at the other tigers.

Ranpo and Poe run off together and Ranpo stops at every little snack stand and souvenir station and Poe buys him absolutely everything.

Yosano wanders on her own, going along casually but definitely lingering if there’s a butterfly/garden exhibit

Fukuzawa finds the big cat’s section and stays there the entire time. Atsushi visits with him and sits for a bit before moving on with Akutagawa.

Kenji and Kyouka pair up and Kenji drags her to the petting zoo barnyard area, he excitedly tells her everything he knows about all the animals

The tanizaki siblings pair up, ig they just wander i don’t have anything specific for them

ok gift giving is a big part of atsushi’s love language

this wasn’t meant to be long but-

whether its becuz the tiger’s cat-desire to hunt for the agency translated to something more human (along with cooking but my cooking atsushi headcanons will pop out sometime else) or just becuz atsushi has never been gifted anything pre-agency and to him its something very precious who knows

it’s not that he spends ages pouring over what to give the agency members (well not always) its more like if he goes to the store and sees a type of candy ranpo likes he’ll buy it for him

when atsushi’s new at wanting to give his loved ones gifts, he does over think it tho cmon its atsushi

like he’ll see a nice pen, buy it for kunikida, but then he’ll feel like its such a dumb little thing and he should’ve put more effort into a gift because of that he ends up hoarding a lot of trinkets becuz he’ll see them and buy them as presents but be too shy to give them up

(and he’ll also spend ages pouring over what the perfect present for everyone would be but always finding some fault in his ideas)

it’s not until dazai’s breaking into atsushi’s apartment to teach him the joys of stealing other people’s credit cards that he notices a neat stack of containers with atsushi’s friends and stuff’s name on it and asks atsushi about it that something ever happens

dazai: don’t tell me atsushi, you were planning on chopping us all up and storing us into these containers ? u’d need bigger ones for that by the way

atsushi, horrified: WHAT?? of course not!!! these are-

atsushi, flustered: these are just things that i dont know i bought becuz i thought you’d like them. but theyre silly so i didn’t give-

dazai, already opening his own box: ATSUSHI!

atsushi, trying to pull him away: what

dazai, pulling out a tiny void eyed black cat keychain: did you buy this for me? how did you know i wanted it?

atsushi:

atsushi: you wanted it?

dazai, lying but atsushi doesn’t need to know that: yeah i wanted something like this. how cruel atsushi, buying it and storing it away~ not giving it to me :(

atsushi, pleased and happy: do you um want to look at the other stuff ?

so essentially dazai in his own strange way of not actually addressing the problem convinces atsushi to give his silly little gifts to the agency members

(and tho he did not want anything like the keychain before, he’s quite pleased by it and all the other things that atsushi got for him)

so atsushi in a moment of joy and happiness places all the containers in front of each members door with his name signed and bolts (kyouka’s is placed near her stuff right before he leaves since he wakes up before her) (things for non-agency members like lucy are left in places where they work/hang out a lot) (fukuzawa’s in front of his office doors)

the morning at work, atsushi’s shaking with nervousness

the first one to arrive after him is kunikida (who’s usually the first to arrive)

kunikida greets atsushi politely - theres something about him that seems different, a little red on his cheeks but atsushi cant tell what; he’s too busy being relieved that kunikida isn’t upset about his gifts

when kunikida opens his book, the pen he pulls out is the one atsushi gifted him and atsushi is immediately filled with warmth and contentment (when he moves his head, atsushi notices that his hair is tied with the ribbon atsushi gave him)

kunikida doesn’t say anything but his gratitude and his appreciation for atsushi’s gifts is clear (also he may or may not ruffle atsushi’s hair more than usual that day)

after kunikida and dazai’s appreciation, atsushi is more excited about everyone’s reactions

junichiro is flustered and pleased and thanks him profusely, grinning the entire day - naomi tells him about each gift and why she likes it

kenji tries to gift him a cow which is banned from the office by kunikida - who points out that atsushi wouldn’t know what to do with it, so kenji comes back with chickens, and then after the same thing happens, gives atsushi stuff from his garden

haruno and the other staff all thank atsushi with hugs or shoulder pats

ranpo doesn’t look at atsushi as he approaches him but he’s wearing the pins atsushi bought him and the fact that he’s holding out a candy for atsushi to take is telling enough

yosano thanks him fiddling with the bracelet atsushi bought

kyouka apologizes for not giving him anything and atsushi has to explain to her that he’s just getting gifts becuz he wants to not becuz he wants them to give hm something back

fukuzawa does the old person affection thing by placing his hand on atsushi head ya know the thing

anyway

lucy is blushing when he goes down to the cafe and calls him dumb and then gives him extra cake so-

the only person who atsushi’s bought gifts for but hasn’t given them to is akutagawa

their relationship isn’t as hostile as before but atsushi doesn’t know what to do with it but he thinks theres a tiny chance that akutagawa might like them so he makes up his mind and ships them to him (he does not include a return address or his name)

akutagawa, climbing through atsushi’s window a few days later: it was you wasn’t it?

atsushi: stop climbing through my window asshole????

akutagawa, coughing and showing atsushi the black bracelet atsushi got him: answer me

atsushi, remembering the gifts, flushing: wh-what ? noooo- I uh. I mean i don’t know what you’re talking about

akutagawa: it has to be you. no one else would give me something as strange as a plastic skeleton

atsushi, weakly: it fit ur aesthetic ?

akutagawa, ‘glaring’ at him:

i had actually alot of fun making this! to be honest i obviously can't squeeze in the port mafia memebers in this since you guys know how long i make some of these things so-

think of this as part one as the port mafia members will come as part two

this is just like how do i describe it?- lets just say its like a version where the armed detective agency finds you first so the port mafia will be where they find you first in the second part!

It was truly a calming day until the detective agency had gotten a phone call and reports on how a child was dealing with bombs. The first thing they thought was

"Were there terrorists using children to exploit their wrong doings or was this the port mafia?"

So when they came to look they were surprised there was only but a small child dressed in all red decked down with bombs magically appearing from their hands. This was truly a special ability they have never thought of but believe in the impossible right?.

So with this very thought going through their heads as in Dazai, Kunikida and lastly Atsushi decided to bring you back to the agency. Anyone who was a witness to this and any damages would be payed by the agency since they brought it upon themselves to bring you in.

Kunikida couldn't believe a child such as yourself would have this..ability and would discover it at such a young age too. When he tried to take the bombs away from you you were yelling "Dodoco doesn't like you!"

It took everything in Dazai including the holy spirit for him not to burst out in a laughing fit. While Atsushi tried to stop your crying. Getting you in was also no easy feat considering this is Fukuzawa we are talking about. But also considering the waste it would be and the port mafia might take you if they don't he just left it be.

Yosano and Kenji found you absolutely adorable! . Ranpo likes to share his snacks with you very often if i must say so myself wich the others find oddly unusual.

Kyouka would feel the the need to protect you since she is practically older so don't be surprised when a creep comes up to you and she just immediately gives them a beating no matter where you are while you pull out your bombs to help.

Dazai spoils you and Kunikida does not approve of this. type of behavior because its quite...unsettling knowing he might buy you a new place to store your bombs.

Jun'ichirō had to stop his own sister from trying to adopt to be honest. Like Naomi saw you for one second and said, "we're adopting them." While you were plainly blinking at the two of them.

And of course you see Fukuzawa like Albedo for some reason i just don't know. However do expect him to bring you wherever you want, just not..specifically places the port mafia has been very active in or places there is a possibility any of them will be.

Atsushi Nakajima

(I don't really know that much about him like I do with other characters so this is probably not going to be good)

0/10

-I doubt he would ever cheat bc he's been through enough, and you probably helped him with his self loathing

-If he did ever cheat though, he would have extreme guilt, and would tell you right away, apologizing multiple times for what he did

-He's a good person, and I'm sure Atsushi would never cheat, if anything, he would hate himself more if he did

-His eyes are on you, and you only, if you're dating him

9/10 bf, he has his flaws, but he treats you well

Dazai Osamu

6/10 (yikes)

-I love Dazai don't get me wrong, it's just the amount of women that are head over heels for him, makes me feel ify

-He seems like the type of person to probably go to a bar or something, and flirt with a woman, and that leads to other things, one after another

-Would he tell you immediately? I don't think so. I think he would probably tell you after you got suspicious, or after you found out

-His score doesn't mean he will cheat, and that doesn't mean he doesn't love you, I just don't really trust him, and neither should you

-I don't think he'd beg for forgiveness, but he would apologize

-Though, there could be a chance he would manipulate you into going back with him, that is, if he really didn't want you leaving

-If he were interested in someone else, then he wouldn't cheat, but he would tell you about his feelings, and ask what to do about those feelings, while he most likely still loves you

-If you asked to end things off because of those feelings, he'd understand, but be hurt

-He'd ask if you could reconsider that, because he still loves you, but once your decision was final, he'd understand, and break things off with you

-If you asked for him to leave that person alone and not talk to them, he'd be okay with that, and would do as you ask

-He'd fall out of love with that other person, and would spend time with you to forget about them

-He would 100% tell you immediately if he did act upon his feelings and cheat, and he would apologize multiple times

-I don't think he'd really beg for forgiveness, but he would ask if you could forgive him

-If she were to cheat, she'd probably never tell you, and when you confront her about it, she'd probably wave if off like it was nothing

-She probably thinks what she did was bad, but not horrible, even if it was

-I'm sure she'd love you, it's just, she wouldn't really think about how you would think in the moment

-She's definitely sadistic, so seeing you hurt about what she did probably mad her feel happy if anything, but maybe a little sad too

-I don't think it's highly likely for her to, I just don't think it's entirely unlikely

-He didn't know it was considered cheating, and he realized what he did was wrong, and that's when he started telling Naomi to stop it, because he was dating you

-He apologized multiple times, and didn't know if he would be forgiven, he told you he loved you, and he didn't know it was wrong

-Never does that ever again, and is 20x more aware of what's going on when Naomi is around him, to make sure he doesn't mess up again

(Yet again, this may be OOC or bad, because I don't know that much about her like I do with other characters)

-She obviously is in love with you, but, she loves her brother too

-You would point it out, and she would, just like Yosano, wave it off

-She's used to what she does with her brother, so she probably did it multiple times honestly

-The best thing to do in this situation is to end off the relationship, or take a break, because I don't know if she'd stop that quick

-After finally stopping because she realized she was in the wrong, she did apologize, mainly expecting forgiveness, because she seems to have a control on Junichiro, so she probably expects you to be the same way

-If I'm being honest, I don't really like Naomi that much, but I'm sure she would still love you, and would calm down her behaviors with her brother (Junichiro can finally breath now that she's not engulfing him in hugs, he's so thankful)
