“You should. You have a lot of potential, you’re smart, you remind me of myself at your age. You care so much about everything. Don’t lose that like I did.”

“Wow, Jen. I don’t know what to say. Thank you.”

You started talking more about your lives and families. Jen had some crazy stories, and then she asked about you.

“What about you? You have family, a boyfriend, anything?”

“Well I have a pretty average family, definitely nothing as interesting as yours. And I’m single. And, um, very gay.”

“Ah, I see.”

You told her more about your mom, your dad, and your brother as she ordered more drinks for the two of you. You were starting to feel pretty tipsy, and you think Jen probably was too, based on how her behavior was changing.

“Put your hair down, I wanna see it. Oh, you look so pretty!”

“Thank you Jen! You’re so nice…”

“I’m really not that nice. I just like you. ‘Cause you’re cute and smart. And cute.”

“You’re nice to me though. The other interns don’t really talk to me, but you always do.”

“That’s because they’re entitled idiots. You gotta learn to work with people like that, this town is full of them.”

“I know. But I still like you more…”

“I like you more too.”

Jen put her arm around you and her head on your shoulder and you giggled.

“Is it okay that we’re out together? I wouldn’t want to get you in trouble.”

“Of course it’s okay. We’re just two adults grabbing drinks after work. You’re a beautiful girl, but I would never pressure you into doing anything you don’t want to do, I’m not that kind of boss.”

“What if… what if I did want to do something?”

“Then we should go somewhere a little more private. I’ll call a car.”

Jen lived in the biggest, nicest house you’ve seen in your whole life.

“Wow, it’s… beautiful. I can’t believe you live like this, that’s… wow.”

“I’ll get us some more drinks, okay hon?”

Jen did just that, pouring glass after glass of wine for the two of you. She leaned in to kiss you, grabbing your waist and you eagerly accepted. You drunkenly made out for a while before transferring to the bedroom.

“Let’s get some rest, okay baby?”

You woke up next to Jen, and she was already awake, dressed, drinking a Gatorade and tapping away at her phone.

“You up?”

“Yeah.”

“Have a gatorade. If I’m hungover, you definitely are. We gotta get to work soon. Get dressed.”

You accepted the bottle and changed back into your work clothes from the day before, as Jen’s eyes scanned your body.

“God, you have such a nice body. I wish we had more time here so we could… I know. I’ll give you a call while we’re at work to meet me in the supply closet. We can… continue this there. We’ve gotta be quick but it’s better than waiting a whole eight hours. How’s that sound? Now come on, we’re gonna be late.”

You spent the first part of your day at work impatiently waiting for Jen’s call. All you could think about was her. Finally it happened, and you excused yourself to “grab some more pens”. Jen was in there waiting for you with a smug smile on her face.

“Hey there, babe.”

‘Hi, Jen.”

“How you feeling? You ready?”

“I’m feeling good now that I’m with you,” you say in an attempt at flirting with the older woman.

“God, you’re the cutest thing.”

And she started kissing you as her hands travelled up and down your body, unbuttoning your shirt and feeling your breasts. You take your shirt off and kiss her back harder as she backs you into the wall. Jen breaks the kiss as her mouth travels down to your neck, sucking hard as her hands move to your waistband.

“I’m gonna ruin you. I’m gonna mark you all up, and you’re gonna love it.”

Jen fingered you, fast and rough and you had never felt anything like it before. You couldn’t possibly have imagined that just her fingers could make you feel that good. You were trying not to make any noise but the feeling of Jen’s fingers inside you and her mouth on your neck made it incredibly difficult. You found yourself softly moaning and repeating her name until she had to use her free hand to cover your mouth.

“Wow, so wet and excited just from my fingers? So needy that you can’t shut up? Or do you want someone to catch you getting fucked by your boss in a supply closet? You want the whole office to know what a desperate slut you are?”

You let out another moan as she shoved a finger in your mouth and went harder. You tried to grab her, desperate to be closer.

“Are you close, baby?”

You nodded your head as she took her hand from your mouth and put her arm around you, moving you away from the wall and sitting next to you.

“That was fun.”

“That was amazing, Jen.”

“We don’t have a lot of time, people are gonna start wondering where we are.”

“Yeah. I wish we could just stay here together.”

“Me too, babe. You’re gonna want to put a scarf on, by the way. I marked you up pretty good.”

You took out your phone and looked at your reflection. She was right.

“I’ve got one in my office, come with me.”

You popped your collar and ran behind Jen to her office. When you got there she took the scarf out of her drawer and wrapped it around your neck.

“Jen? Why couldn’t we have done that stuff in here?”

“It’s more fun in the supply closet. Come home with me after work, okay?”

“I would love that.”

after a long talk with elle about her mother, and a failed attempt at getting an extension on her term paper, jj found herself at a loss. she toyed with the necklace she had found sitting on her desk, deep in thought.  they were trying to save the lives of everyone on campus, and she couldn’t even do that and balance her school work. her father was going to have a field day with her.

“please tell me you��re having better luck with the mystical weapon situation.” jj turned to elle, who was reading out of the sumerian book she and tara had gotten from the library.

elle let out a sigh. “mm, not so much. ascalon, an enchanted spear that kills dragons but only if you’re a christian saint. the scepter of kerykeion will heal them. the holy hand grenade of antioch would be perfect for an influx of monstrous rabbits.”

“wait,” jj pulled something up on the computer screen, waiting for elle to look over. “what about this one? the blade of hastur, forged from the burnt bones of starspawn and meant to shatter all that oppose it…” she trailed off.

“that may or may not be sealed into the face of a cliff in an underwater cavern a thousand feet below sea level.” elle continued, a plan forming in her head.

“no. it’s sealed in the face of a cliff in an underwater cavern, a thousand feet below sea level. nobody could survive that, which is probably the point.”

“i could get it.”

jj’s eyes widened as she looked over to elle. “what?”

“the sword. i could get it. pressure depth and nitrogen narcosis aren’t really itches for a vampire.”

“that would be- i mean, you’d be risking your life. and if your mother found out she would…”

“yeah, well, my mother fed the only person i cared about to a monster and maybe i don’t feel like letting that happen again.”

“i mean, i know that you’re not just doing it for me but seriously…”

“don’t be an idiot, jennifer. of course i’m doing it for you.” elle noticed the necklace she was wearing and started to freak out. “where’d you get that necklace?”

“i found it here, i thought you left it for me-”

“get it off.”

“what?”

elle reached for the necklace, hissing as it burned her hand the moment she made contact with it. before she knew it, jj was collapsing onto the bed, and elle was panicking. there was only one person who could be behind this. and she knew exactly who that person was.

“mother.”

“hello sweetheart,” jj- the dean- spoke, smiling sickenly sweet at elle. “i thought it was time we had a little talk.”

“what do you want, mother?”

“you didn’t come when i sent for you, i can’t imagine poor matt was at all unclear. he doesn’t quite have the brains for… delicacy.”

“if you’re going to kill me, why not just come yourself?” elle snarked, crossing her arms.

“kill you? when you think of the lengths i’ve gone to save you from your own foolishness?” a heartless chuckle fell from her lips. “i think you’re a practical girl and you’ll see that everything i do, i do for the best. that silly little creature couldn’t’ve loved you. the second she knew what you were, she spilled all your secrets like an idiot school child. she was a cockroach. a wretched, crawling thing just like poor jennifer. and you, my doll, are a diamond. stone can not love flesh.”

elle resisted the urge to spit in her face. “how could i ever trust you?”

“why don't i start us off with a gesture of good faith? matt has derek right now, and he’s just itching to help out.”

“i thought your hungry little night light wanted virgins.”

“oh, you’ve been reading barkley’s transcriptions. that man was obsessed. no, we just take girls because it's traditional. besides, the worlds just gonna grind them up anyway, so it’s almost a mercy. derek though, believes some idiot accident, perhaps depression over his lost sweetie.” she turned back to face elle. “so what’s it to be? shall we take the prom king here and leave you and the little moppet alone?”

elle sighed. “deal.”

“remember, she’s safe as long as you keep her from meddling. if either of you get in the way again, all bets are off. now be quick, catch!”

jj stared at the screen, the events that had previously conspired playing out in front of her. tears brimmed her eyes as she watched, her feelings and emotions getting the best of her as she tried to figure out what was going on. alex watched along with her, a whacked up tara sitting on the bed mumbling about going to the party that she and alex were preventing her from going to. as if on cue, elle walked into the room and alex turned around, a stake being pointed right at her.

“not one more step, bloodsucker.”

“what is this?”

elle looked to jj, who simply pressed play on her computer. “were you ever going to tell me? about derek? about the fact she possessed me and used me to hurt my friends? or was it just going to be ‘sorry babe, no sword no rescue, that’s just the way the world is’?”

“jj that’s not- she promised to leave us alone.”

“yeah, just so long as you let her kill my friends. you know, it’s not the sword. the sword would kill you and i get that. it’s that you just gave up. after everything, you didn’t even try.” with tears in her eyes, jj turned away. “go away, elle. go run and hide. we’re done.”

they had won, they had actually won. and elle was dead. elle was dead and it was all jennifer’s fault- if she hadn’t gone on that stupid adventure with tara and alex, she wouldn’t be sitting here all alone staring at elle’s side of the room and wishing she was there. jj missed elle, and it was something she had never thought she would miss her stupid remarks, and the hair in the shower drain. it had been approximately three days since they had won, and jj was going absolutely insane. an aftershock hit the building, and jj simply sighed, staring at her computer screen as she rode through it. as nice as it was having kate back, jj felt like there was a piece of her life that was missing now that elle wasn’t there. a weird emptiness that couldn’t be filled by another human, no matter how hard they tried.

“hey, jj.” alex lightly knocked on the door, pushing it open slightly. “so um, something happened and i um, i just wanted to come prepare you so that you wouldn’t freak out. so derek and some of his zeta bros were throwing cherry bombs into the big pit under the lustic building and um… the found… um…”

as if on cue, emily walked in with a passed out elle in her arms. jj shot up from her bed, running over to her.

“okay so, we think she’s… i mean she seems dead, but she’s a vampire, right?”

“blood! she needs blood!”

jj ran over to where kate had left the soy milk container earlier that day, grabbing it and bringing it back over to elle. slowly and carefully she poured some blood into her mouth, barely noticing alex and emily slipping out of the room to give them their privacy. a few minutes later elle stirred, a groan falling from her lips. jj practically catapulted herself onto elle, barely registering the fact she had thrown herself onto an injured person. elle was back, and that’s all she could think about.

“hey.”

“are you hurt? it looks like you’re hurt. and i’m sorry i hugged you so hard that you're hurt.” jj looked at elle as she stood up. “it’s just that you were dead and-and now you’re not and i know that you’re probably going through a lot of stuff with your mom, it’s just that-”

elle cut jj off with a kiss, pushing herself as close to the young blonde as she possibly could. she held her close, pulling in every scent of her that she hadn’t had while she was knocked out in the pit. the two of them pulled apart for air before jj initiated the second kiss, this one filled with more emotion than the last. elle pulled away, smiling slightly at jj as she stared at her in disbelief.

“so, you’re a giant black cat huh?”

elle chuckled. “so i am.”

“how are you- are you okay? how are you alive?”

“well, that’s the thing about being a vampire. kinda hard to hurt me unless you put a steak through my heart.”

“let’s not joke about that.” jj let out an exasperated laugh. “i just got you back. i can’t lose you again.”

“oh?” elle’s eyebrow raised. “you can’t loose me, you say?”

“shuddup.”

“what happened to the hatred you had for me a week ago?” elle teased.

“we don’t have to talk about that.” jj hid her face in elle’s good shoulder, blush covering her cheeks. “we really don’t.”

“mmm we do eventually, but i’m okay with not talking about it for now.”

“oh my god i’m so mean, do you need blood? you probably need more blood.” jj detached herself from elle, running to the fridge. “i know we have more in here somewhere.”

elle couldn’t help but smirk. to think that the semester started with jj hating elle’s guts, and here they were, about to embark on… well, she wasn’t sure what she could call it yet but…

jj was hers.

Look, she wasn't dumb, she knew that she could have a motherfucking mood sometimes, but if there was one thing she had promised herself from the moment she started dating you, it was that she was never, ever going to hurt you. And yet, there she was, watching helplessly as you slunk to the safety of your room, running from her. She felt like a monster.

Jen knew that at times she could be very harsh with you, but it was because she wanted to see you succeed in your goals and although she didn't always say it out loud, she really loved you. So it was a shock to her to realize that she had crossed the line when during one of your (rare, but intense) fights, you flinched as she mentioned something about your parents.

A/N: I’m back (kinda) and rusty as fuck. Here’s a lil Jen fic, inspired by I Like U by NIKI. I’m halfway writing the other version of this in Jen’s POV but so far I don’t like it lmao.

Summary: You were sure you had mastered the no strings attached formula, but this was different. Jennifer Barkley was a different equation.

This was supposed to be just physical between you. The woman sure knows how to have fun despite the hectic schedule both had as the elections neared, and her words, “make my valuable time in this town worthwhile.”

Well, you lied. With her, it was impossible just to set the feelings aside. She was incredible.

You've had flings, one-night stands, and have been in a friends/colleagues with benefits situation before. You’ve done it a lot and know your way through with those people without getting attached. You were sure you had mastered the no strings attached formula, but this was different.

Jennifer Barkley was a different equation.

You should’ve known from the start. A hotshot from Washington, the lady was out of your league. Yet when you laid eyes on each other it was clear what you both wanted and not long after, you found yourself pressed against the wall of a bathroom or a supply closet.

It was wrong, having an affair with the opposition’s campaign manager, whose presence has literally been a roadblock for your friends – but it happened again, and again.

And again.

Until you were craving for more. More of her. Lately, you’ve been wondering how her day was; checking your phone every second to see if she had texted; even anticipating her appearances in Perd’s show.

In a rare occurrence that she had stayed the night in your place, you actually took the time to etch her features in your mind – not in a creepy way – more of a ‘I never have a chance to properly admire you when we’re in public’ way. 

And as the affair goes on, you find yourself wishing she’d always stay after a passionate night, instead of scrambling off as she puts her clothes back on, typing away on her phone.

You were doomed. Jennifer Barkley doesn’t do feelings. If only you can reset her point of view about it.

So you do what you think best, end this once and for all. It's what's better for everyone, right? You'd stop bearing the guilt of sleeping with your friend's opponent's campaign manager, and step on the growing feelings while it was just a sprout.

Somehow it didn’t go the way you intended it to be. Jen Barkley just had that effect on you.

But no, you had to do this.

So you turned the tables. It was you who were scurrying to get your clothes on, not sparing a glance at her as she stayed on the bed watching you get away as if you regretted being with her.

“I’m usually the one who slips away first. What’s the rush?”

As you straightened your clothes out, you turned to her. You knew you can’t look straight into her eyes, so you settled to look at the pillows instead.

“I’m sorry, Jen. I...I can't do this anymore,” you bolted out of the room before you could even provide her the reason why.

I like you, Jen. Sorry, I never meant to.

It did not come off as a surprise when you heard that Chris had admitted to Ann that he and Jen had sex. Well, who wouldn’t be proud of getting under the sheets with Jennifer Barkley? 

Several eyebrows arose including yours, but it didn’t shock you or whatnot. If anything, you just felt your heart constrict against your chest. It didn’t fail to make your cheerful mood go slightly sour when you saw them arrive at the same time for Leslie’s victory party.

It’s not like you can get mad and jealous. It’s not like you could blame her for getting over so quickly. Jen’s not yours. Never have been. 

You just fell for her tricks and now you’re the casualty.

[A/N: Eeeeeee I'm so excited, this is my first ever fic for the KHahn characters and in my new collection of Hahn High-- and also Tumblr so please be kind with me. I haven't written in like a year or two and I'm waaayyy behind on my character studies but I do hope to stay and come out with more fics-- so if you guys wanna see some fics, have some ideas, let me knowwww-- also forgive me since Jen and Michelle aren't really characters I know that well yet. Hope you enjoy bbs~ :3

-Jennifer Barkley is one of the Maths teacher, teaching mainly Statistics.

-Michelle Rueben, on the other hand, is an intern for Eve Fletcher, their resident English teacher.

-Jen didn't particularly hate her like she did the others, being usually the only one able to control the mess that the others would get themselves into, and for that she respected Eve.

-(Except for the times she'd get told off herself, now that wasn't fun.)

-So when Eve had gotten infected by the snot-bag once known as Raquel Fein, she had agreed to take up her class, with the other being busy as the finals came up.

-What can she say, having no remorse for the kids came in handy.

-And that's how Jennifer Ann Barkley became Michelle Rueben's boss and worst nightmare.

-Michelle had always kept an eye out for the strawberry blonde-haired teacher, how smart she sounded, the way she likes her coffee when they're at the faculty-- extra dark, even the exact time when she arrives at school, not too early but never late.

-Jen had caught her eye ever since she started working there and Michelle thought that working alongside the infamous Jennifer Barkley would've been amazing--

-Bossy, insensitive, irritating, Michelle could go on and on about how shitty her temporary boss was, not to mention how Jen treated the kids.

-Michelle sometimes wondered how could one person be so cruel.

-She was childish. That was probably the only reason that she could think of as to why in all hell would Jen be even in this place. That and she probably feeds off the souls of the kids.

-There were times when Jen would ask coffee only to not want it a few moments later after Michelle had gone through hell and back to get it.

-Jen on the other hand, didn't even spare a glance to the girl, always too busy reading, maybe talking to someone on the phone. Heck, Michelle thinks she doesn't even remember her name!

-And as the resident hopeless romantic, she wasn't just having that. So instead she had a bottle of wine, a good cry and a marathon of Titanic again.

-Michelle just couldn't do it anymore. Call her dramatic, as everyone else does, but Jen was a monster. She was a lunatic somehow always finding a way to torture them in the most painful way possible.

-Thankfully, Eve came back before she had done something she would regret. But Michelle unfortunately, caught a sick day, not knowing if it was because her head is about to explode, courtesy of a certain Barkley, being hella drunk or the sneezing Eve Fletcher that she was supposed to hang around with all day.

-Michelle was a a sweetheart in the faculty, having Coach Dunkler taking a liking to her.

-When she hadn't shown up the next day though, Carla had started to get worried.

-She visited her after school, making sure nobody saw her. She just can't have anyone thinking Carla Dunkler actually has a heart.

-A hungover Michelle greeted her, spilling most, if not all that she felt.

-The next day, Michelle was still sick, but Eve gave her time off because she knew it was her fault for having brought in the virus, having Jen help her instead.

-Carla had gotten a word of it and so when the bell rang, she had walked herself straight into the English classroom, fist curled up and ready to hit with impact.

-Jennifer was not amused.

-Neither was Carla to be honest, as Jen opened her mouth.

-Carla had managed to let her finish, taking up every inch of her patience.

-But when Carla had the chance to tell her as to why there's now a huge bruise on her eye, Jennifer fell silent.

-Carla waited for a response yet the usually sharp-tongued woman had nothing to throw.

-The next day, Michelle came in to work.

-She was still a bit bummed because of her unfortunate experience but as she came into the English room, a bouquet of flowers awaited her.

-And to her surprise, a certain Jennifer Barkley who had sunglasses on for some totally unrelated reason.

-"Uhm... Those were from-- uh... They're for... They're for you. You know, whatever. M'sorry--"

-Michelle.exe has stopped working.

-But the first thing she was able to do was wrap the woman in a bone crushing hug despite what she knows Ursula would tell her later.

-Jen, as much as she-- didn't despise the situation-- squirmed, confirming that Carla left her with a little complimentary magic trick, turning one bone into two! Y a y .

-And despite the trip down to the infirmary much later, it was a pretty nice day if Jen would say so herself.

-"Enough with the hugs, Rueben."

-"Aww... Of course, Annie-bear~"

-Carla never let that one go.

HBO Max New Releases: August 2021

Back when WarnerMedia (which technically no longer exists in the same form) announced that it would be premiering its entire slate of 2021 films on HBO Max, this is the kind of month they likely had in mind. For HBO Max’s list of new releases in August 2021 is highlighted by an honest-to-goodness blockbuster.

The Suicide Squad is set to premiere Aug. 5 on HBO Max. This film featuring some of DC Comics’ most curious villains borrows its name, format, and many of its characters from the David Ayers-directed 2016 film Suicide Squad. This time around, the rogues gallery is directing by James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy) and his colorful disposition. In addition to The Suicide Squad, August sees the arrival of the Hugh Jackman-starring Reminiscence on Aug. 20.

It’s a good month for movies overall on HBO Max. Many intriguing library titles arrive on Aug. 1, including Collateral, The Fugitive (1993), The Shawshank Redemption, and Spawn. The Jurassic Park trilogy (Aug. 14), and Godzilla v. Kong (Aug. 17) make their return to the Warner streaming service a little later on.

HBO Max’s original TV offerings can’t compete with The Suicide Squad in August 2021, but there is still plenty to enjoy. The third season of erstwhile DC Universe series Titans premieres on Aug. 12. That will be followed by the second season of former Comedy Central delight The Other Two.

You jumped when your apartment door slammed open. You knew perfectly well who was it, but it didn't make it any less worrisome. Jen only slammed the doors when she'd had a bad day.

"I hate them all" she said, without even giving you a chance to say hello.

"Yeah me too" you said, making her look at you

"You don't even know who I'm talking about" Jen frowned

"No, but if they annoyed the queen, they deserve to burn" you shrugged “let’s hate the world together”

Jennifer didn't say anything, but you could see her trying to stop a smile. You were glad you could have that effect on her, even if the grumpy little girl didn't want to admit it.

You reached out to her, knowing that she needed to feel you, even if she was too stubborn to ask. But hey, it was one of the things you loved about her.

"I don't like people" she murmured, drawing you to sit on her lap.

"Ouch, that hurt Jen" you joked

"Sorry, let me correct it" she laughed "I don’t like people, but you’re an exception"

"I’ll take it"

You stayed holding her for a few minutes, waiting for her to calm down. It didn't take long after you started playing with her hair.

"Better?" you asked

"Yeah...I only hate half the world now" she joked

"That's my Annie-Ann" you smiled when the older woman whimpered at the nickname

"You're the only one who gets to call me that, you know?"

"Yep...and I'm totally going to take advantage of that"

"I have no doubt"
