Hi there can I get a Levi x female reader who is the newest edition to his squad. Reader is such a badass on the field, and takes down a Titan with such grace and skill but back inside the walls, away from Titan territory, she’s a blushing shy little thing and Levi finds that so endearing. Oh, and with a jealous Petra too when she realises her captain paying a little too much attention to their newest comrade. Lots of fluff between Levi and reader please
And So It Begins.
Tumblr media
On the field, you are a force to be reckoned with. Off the field, it is almost the exact opposite. Either way, you catch your Captain’s eye, and so it begins.
Tumblr media
Pairing: Levi Ackerman x fem!Reader
Tags and warnings: Fluff, a smidge of emotional hurt/comfort, descriptions of canon-typical violence, mentioned leisurely alcohol consumption towards the end, love confessions, happy ending
Word count: 5.8k
A/N: Hey! I had so much fun writing this. I hope you don’t mind that Petra won’t be villianised (because that is my least favourite trope in Levi x Reader fics like ever) - so she’s going to be softly pining from a distance and not be mean because I just feel that’s OOC for her. Without further ado..... enjoy the fic! I also only proofread this briefly because i am impatient and hate proofreading, so there may be mistakes sorry lol

A number of stray titans stumble across the fields, maws dripping with saliva, large glassy eyes wide and unblinking. The sight has you gripping the handles of your ODM gear tightly. The pack descends upon the Squad riding in formation next to yours, and despite your impressive track record as a soldier, seeing blood spray from between a titan’s jaw never fails to make you gasp in horror. The soldier’s legs fall from the titan’s mouth, and his fellow squad members scream his name. Their wails of grief make your stomach churn and your breath hitch. Every fibre of your body is on edge, waiting to dive into action. Anger threatens to suffocate you, but you take a few deep inhales, shaking your head. You’d been recently added to the Special Operations Squad for your calm demeanour in the field, and you were not about to let one gruesome death shake you. No, too many lives were at stake.
“We’re engaging,” Levi hisses under his breath the moment it becomes clear that the rest are too distraught to handle the titans themselves. “Bozado, I want you to deal with the 10-metre. Ginn, Schultz, you two dispatch the 12-metre together. Ral, you and I will sort out the 15-metre.” Levi’s piercing gaze suddenly cuts to you as he utters your surname. “I want you to take on that last one.”
You falter, staring at the final titan. It’s almost as large as the one Eld and Gunther would be taking on. Did Levi truly trust you to take it on all by yourself? You, when two seasoned veterans would need to work together to take down another titan of a similar size?
Levi barks your surname again, and you blink. He’s still staring at you, brow furrowed. “Snap out of it. I wouldn’t tell you to do anything I don’t think you’re capable of, you hear me?”
“Yes, sir,” you say firmly. Internally, you chastise yourself. Insecurities get you killed. Hesitation gets you killed. Levi has drilled this into all of you repeatedly for the last few months, and even before your recent promotion into his squad, it is a concept you are more than familiar with.
He nods. His features don’t soften upon your acknowledgement, but his eyes linger on you for a moment, just a moment, before he turns back around. “I don’t want any of you to die on me. Do I make myself clear?”
“Yes, sir!” All five of you respond in unison.
“Prepare to engage!” Levi says, before flicking the reins and turning his horse towards the fray. You follow suit, close on his heels. One of the titans, your target, turns its head upon seeing the newcomers. Your resolve hardens, and you feel your features settle into a snarl.
“Switch to gear! Engage!”
You immediately hop up on the saddle of your horse and leaping up into the trees, heading straight towards the final titan your Captain had assigned you to. Muscle memory kicks in, and you grapple onto the nearest branch, determined to land even a single blow on the titan before it breaches the treeline.
Perhaps a younger, greener version of you would’ve taunted the titan, snarling a one-liner that would’ve sounded cool to a fresh-faced recruit in the field for the first time. The cockiness has long since been beaten out of you.
The titan’s arms are long - that would prove to be a problem if you don’t deal with it immediately. Frowning, you hurtle towards the titan from behind, grappling onto a nearby tree. As the wires reel you in, you make a large swipe with your blades, arms aching under the force of your blow. The swords dig into the titan’s left shoulder and cut through bone, muscle and tendons that at first resist but ultimately break to the cold, unforgiving metal of your weapon and the force of your attack.
One arm down. The other follows soon before it can process its left arm has been disabled, which blunts your blades, and the titan is left with useless arms that dangle limply at its sides. Steam erupts from the wounds in its shoulders–lots of it. If you don’t act quickly now, you won’t be able to see a damn thing in all this steam.
You shake your head, draw a new set of blades and push off from the tree.
Grunting, you grapple onto the hip of your target, and in one smooth motion, you glide through the air, swooping low in an arc that has you near skimming the ground. With all your might, you swing your blades through the tendons of the titan’s right foot. Warm, hot titan blood splashes all across your clothes and face, and you curse as the steam begins to occlude your vision. Using the leftover momentum from your first attack, you slash at the other ankle that is hovering mid-step before rapidly retreating, pressing hard on your gas trigger. The titan, unable to stand, topples on its face. The force of its fall reverberates through your bones, but it does not faze you, and the nape is slashed with ease.
Emerging from the steam, you discard your blades. You shake your head with a sigh, you’d wasted two sets of blades on one titan, and half your gas. Around you, chaos has erupted, but you note that Levi and Petra’s target has long since dispatched, its corpse already more bone than flesh, and that after they’d split up to help the others, Levi had made a beeline straight for you.
“No need, sir,” you pant as he lands on the ground in front of you. Ignoring the ache in your upper arms and back from the exertion, you confirm, “it’s dead.”
As Levi surveys the scene in front of him - you, filthy but unhurt, and the steaming corpse of a 12-metre titan lying prone behind you - a traitorous thought creeps into the back of your mind: his eyes are really pretty.
Said pretty eyes snap towards you. “I saw it all,” he says, after a pause. “That was a very efficient kill. Your hard work is paying off.”
You can’t quite believe it, feeling just like the day you’d found out he’d picked you to join his squad. Straight-forwardly positive acknowledgement is so rare from him, yet here he is, dishing it out to you. You - the newest addition to the squad, on your very first expedition as a Special Ops member.
You salute. “Thank you, sir!”
Your heart is still beating furiously from the exertion, though you’re not one hundred percent sure that’s the sole reason. Suddenly, you become hyper aware of the absolute state you were in, drenched in titan blood still steaming off of you. You wipe your forehead with the back of your hand, and when you look down at your hand, it comes away slathered in blood. Something inside you cringes at the sight; perhaps Levi’s clean-freak tendencies are rubbing off on you.
“Here.”
A handkerchief suddenly enters your vision.
His handkerchief.
You pause. This is simply uncharacteristic; Levi always reserves them for himself and his weaponry, he’s always insisting on other people bringing their own. Puzzled, you reach forward. Why would he give you his own handkerchief when one sat in your pocket neatly folded? At his own orders, nonetheless? But you aren’t about to reject his kind offer, so you accept.
“Thanks,” you say, breath hitching as your fingertips graze against his whilst taking the handkerchief. You could swear his breath had stuttered too at that, and that the tips of his ears were a little redder than usual, but Levi is swivelling on his heel and mumbling something about regrouping before you can even stop to think.
You staunchly chalk up the warmth in your cheeks from the physical exertion as you quickly clean up and regroup with the others.
----------
Hair stands up on the back of his neck. That odd yet familiar sensation–the one he has felt ever since that street fight all those years ago–takes over him. The closest thing Levi can liken it to is lightning; raw, unrestrained energy that zips down his spine and awakens his cells.
Trouble is nearby.
He inhales to give the order. In the corner of his eye, he sees you straighten up, feels your eyes on him, attentive. Ever since that expedition where he’d watched you take out a titan all by yourself, Levi has been very hyper aware of every minute movement you made. Every blink, every twitch, every cough. Now, he’d much rather leave the scientific observations to Hange, but as of late, he has observed an interesting dichotomy about you.
How fierce you are on the field, on the training courses. The way you move through the air with your gear; almost dancing upon the wind like the fairies of myth, as if gravity was but a mere rumour to you. He doesn’t doubt you could go toe to toe with him one day, with time and practice.
Yet the moment you are no longer focused on combat, you are soft-spoken and bashful. Levi vividly remembers the moment the two of you had arrived back after your first expedition on his squad. He vividly remembers how flustered you had been when trying to give back his handkerchief - after you had carefully washed it clean, of course. (He’d insisted you keep it. He’s still not sure why.) He’s all too aware of the way you immediately look down and nervously laugh off Eld’s compliments on your ODM gear technique, or the way you fiddle with your ODM straps and shyly squeak ‘yes, please’ when Gunther offers to do something so minimal as to refill your water canteen in an attempt to flirt.
(He has also, coincidentally, observed how a strange, ugly feeling rears up within him upon seeing said squad member flirt with you - and observed he had felt what might be akin to relief when you’d politely rejected Gunther’s proper attempt to ask you on a date.
But, of course, those additional observations that Levi has made are irrelevant.)
It is an endearing contrast, if Levi has to admit it to himself. Your impressive battle prowess outside of the Walls, versus your timid nature off the field. And now, he cannot help but notice you every time you are in his immediate vicinity, cannot help but think about you when you are not.
His throat feels dry all of a sudden. “Something’s wrong.”
“I feel it too,” you say. He raises his brow at that - he doubts you have the same strange, inexplicable instincts he has, but Levi supposes you’ve always been very observant.
“Keep your eyes peeled,” he murmurs, before all hell suddenly breaks loose.
It is madness - the horde of abnormals has gotten the sneak on everyone. His squad splits up soon after the first attack; and he barely has time to even think about how you or his other subordinates are doing, lest he get distracted from his own fights. He falls into the same-old rhythm, a film of clarity sharpening his instincts and honing his movements.
He’s not entirely sure what happens next; the following six hours are a blur of bloodshed and steam.
Perhaps the one good thing about Erwin’s particular methods of record-keeping and his insistence of nearly every foot soldier filling out mission reports is that every gap is filled after the battle. Can’t leave a single stone unturned, the Commander would say, sifting through each and every report - sometimes even forcing Levi into it too, killing two birds with one stone: practicing his literacy, and helping Erwin summarise every soldiers’ perspective of the expedition into a coherent account.
And so this is where Levi finds himself now: holed up in his office, hair still damp from his bath, sifting through the reports his subordinates have handed in before turning in for the night. His hands shake - from relief that all five of you survived to see tomorrow morning, from grief for those who weren’t as lucky, from exhaustion… he’s not sure; he’s never been particularly good at distinguishing how he feels.
As he scribbles down his own report to add to the file he’ll have to hand to Erwin soon, his trigger fingers ache, making it difficult to grip his pen properly. Words form on the page painfully slowly, and he is just about ready to give up on his report and attempt to sleep when he hears a light knock on his door.
He frowns. A quick glance to the clock tells him nobody else should be awake. Everybody else usually passes out from exhaustion around this time.
“Name and business.” He calls.
Your gentle voice reports your surname from the other side. “It’s nothing urgent, but I brought you some tea, sir.”
Tea? “Come in,” he says, a little softer. “What are you doing up so late?”
You nudge open the door with your hip, carefully balancing the tray of tea in your hands. It smells fragrant, but it isn’t his own stash. “I, uh, couldn’t sleep, and wanted to make myself some tea… on my way to the mess hall, I saw the candlelight from under your door, and figured I could make enough for two… if you’d like some.” Your eyes dart around the room nervously, hesitant to meet his own.
“I would. Take a seat.” He gets up and draws the chair opposite to his own seat. You smile softly as you set the tray down, and there it is again, the feeling of butterflies flapping away inside his stomach. “This isn’t the tea I usually drink.”
You look almost doe-eyed, looking up from the drink you are pouring. “Oh, I… yeah, it’s mine. I bought it from the market a couple of weeks ago, it’s a raspberry and lemon blend. Would you like to try it? If not, I can go pour out another pot of the black tea you like, the kettle in the kitchen is still hot.”
Levi’s a man of habit - and rarely does he stray from them.  But he finds himself nodding, “no need, I’ll give this a try.”
And oh boy, is he glad he did.
Glancing up at you over the rim of his cup, he says, “it’s nice.” A little tangy and bitter, not too overwhelmingly sweet like he’d expected from a fruity tea blend. You smile bashfully, taking a sip out of your own cup.
“I’m glad you like it.”
Levi watches your eyes wander around the desk, still too shy to hold more than a fraction of a second of eye contact with him. Cute. Then, the sweetly bashful expression from your face drops to a more sombre one upon recognising the half-finished report on his desk, and something in his stomach turns at that. The sight of seeing you so troubled, face suddenly drawn and ashen…
“Was I interrupting your work?” You’re just as quiet as you were before, but now, your words come out more slowly, more resigned.
You could never, is what he wants to say. “No. I was about to stop. It’s fine.” He sifts through the pile of papers, sorts them into a neat pile to one side. The report you’d written somehow makes its way to the top of the pile. He’s already committed the statistics from your report to memory. Half a dozen Scouts confirmed dead, all of them eaten by 2 abnormals that had been killed quickly when you’d arrived on the scene.
Nodding, face downcast, you sip at your tea. There are dark shadows under your eyes where there usually isn’t, and suddenly–
“How’d you do it?”
Levi sets down his cup. “How do I do what?”
You shake your head, your breathing picking up a little. Shoulders tensing, you gesture vaguely with your hands. “I-I don’t know, just… all of it. Staying strong. Continuing to fight even when all seems lost.”
This isn’t like you, all sad and tired and lost. But, he knows this best, guilt and regret twists minds beyond comprehension.
“I’m still looking for the answer to that myself.” Oh, he has not a single idea as to what to say that could truly make you feel better, this has never been his strong suit. “I guess… the knowledge that in the moment, I made the choices I think I’d regret the least, is what keeps my mind clear.” At least for most of the time, he adds, internally. “Is this about what happened today?”
You nod.
He reaches for your report again, smooths the paper flat in the centre of the desk and finds the crucial few lines. “‘I was roughly 425 metres away from the most nearby squad within the formation when a couple of abnormal titans, both of which were capable of running and jumping, strayed from the main horde and targeted them instead.’” He reads out. “‘Levi Squad had been dispersed across the battlefield at this moment in time. Everybody else was engaged in some fight of their own, and I had just finished dispatching a pure titan. I attempted to cross the distance between me and the squad under attack. I estimate that I emptied half my gas in the seconds spent trying to reach them. I was less than 50 metres away when the final soldier that remained, Squad Leader Stein, was seized by the 10-metre abnormal and bitten in half.’” He pauses to take a breath. “You were 425 metres away.”
Catching on to his actions, you shake your head violently. “With the ODM gear, that’s hardly any distance at all, sir–”
“You said it yourself, you used a lot of gas to speed up, but even then, it’s still a fair distance, it still takes time to cross that gap, and those abnormals were fast and smart. You weren’t going to make it in time, no matter how much gas you use.”
“But–” your eyes are looking glassy now, and something zips through him, the desire to hold, protect, comfort - even though he has no idea how. In the heat of the moment, Levi reaches forward, taking your trembling, rough hands into his own.
“Listen to me.”
Her eyes are beautiful.
“You did everything you could for them.”
Tears slip down your cheeks. You squeeze his hands.
Squeezing yours in return, Levi continues to speak despite the warmth creeping onto his face. “You fought well… and maybe my words mean jackshit right now, but…” Why is it so nerve-wracking? “You are not to blame. You hear me? And this is going to be far easier said than done, but I don’t want you losing any sleep over this. You did everything you could.” Unconsciously, his thumb rubs over the back of your hand, and you whimper at the gentle touch.
Gulping, you nod hesitantly.
“Captain, I…”
“What?”
You blink. “Um...” You look down meekly, and Levi feels a tingling in his fingers, the urge to reach further across the table, place two fingers under your chin and gently lift, for someone so wonderful as you should never be ashamed of your tears. Never. “Just… thank you. I… sorry, I didn’t think I’d end up dumping this all on you, but it’s hard.”
“I know,” he murmurs. “I know.”
It is then, in that very moment, your hands interlocked with his, that he realises. Why you’ve been on his mind so much, why he’s been so hyper aware of every little wondrous detail about you, why he wants nothing more than to hold you and cherish you to the end of time.
It all makes sense now.
As the candlewick burns, and the flame dwindles, a pair of soft amber eyes peers into the room. Petra’s fingers curl around the door handle as she fights to keep her breathing even and her eyes dry.
----------
And so it begins.
Unknowingly, you and Levi cross the bridge; what lies between you two is no longer merely professional. With every subsequent late night conversation and shared pots of tea, you toe the line between comrades and something more, blurring it further and further until you see it no longer.
You can’t quite place a finger on what it is that makes you so content in his presence. But, you muse to yourself, looking down at your sleeping superior who’d fallen asleep at his desk when you’d arrived for your nightly conversation, you yearn to find out.
----------
Petra’s been tossing and turning.
It’s been this way since after the first expedition. Being the only two women in the squad, you two share a room and other facilities together. She’s a very good roommate; not only is she an innately organised person, her desire to keep the Captain appeased has improved her housekeeping skills by tenfold. You can’t deny the same thing hasn’t happened to yourself. But lately, she hasn’t been sleeping very well. Exhaustion from Levi’s intense training regimen has you knocked out the moment your head hits the pillow, and that sleep is only ever really interrupted by the occasional nightmare. But more recently, it’s been harder to fall asleep at all, because Petra hasn’t been able to sleep herself. And it isn’t just during nightfall. She’s been growing distant from you, little by little, and you’re ashamed that you hadn’t noticed it earlier, not until:
“Wow,” you pant, collapsing on your bed, “the Captain is really putting us through our paces, isn’t he?”
Petra perches on the edge of her bed, taking her boots off. Her face is still flushed pink from training, ginger hair plastered to her face with sweat. “Yeah,” she pants. “You seem to be doing just fine, though.”
Exhaustion slurs her syllables but you detect something else, an undercurrent of insecurity. “So are you,” you say. “The last twenty minutes of ODM drills? Walls, I could hardly keep up with you.” It’s not even a lie - Petra’s outstanding agility with the gear - rivalling yours and even the Captain’s - is what landed her a spot on the squad in the first place.
“Thanks,” she mumbles, but the smile doesn’t reach her tired eyes. The silence is painfully awkward, and you grimace.
“So… are we still on for our trip to town tomorrow?” It’s your day off.
Petra freezes, shoulders locking up. “Sorry, um, I forgot to tell you, but I’ve actually been double-booked… my father wants me to have dinner with him. I’m sorry, but I haven’t been able to see him for months, so…”
Oh. You sit up on the bed, wincing at the aches and pains in your body. “That’s okay,” you assure her, though alarm bells ring shrilly in the back of your mind. Petra is extremely organised - she would’ve made sure to avoid double-bookings and tell you if something else was going on the moment she’d find out about it.
Something is wrong, but before you can think on it any further, Petra retrieves a fresh set of clothes and mumbles something about heading to the showers.
You’re not entirely sure why she’s been acting a little distant lately, or why she’s suddenly having trouble sleeping, but enough is enough.
“Petra,” you say out loud into the dark, “is everything okay?”
The rustling on the other side of the room pauses. “Just can’t sleep,” Petra responds.
“You haven’t been sleeping too well. And… I can’t help but wonder if it has something to do with me…” Your mouth feels dry. Outside of Titan territory, confrontation is not your strong suit. “You’ve been, um, kind of distant around me lately. And you’re not sleeping well either. Have I done anything to upset you?”
Petra’s breath hitches. “No,” she says quickly. “You haven’t, I promise. I’ve just… been all up in my head lately, that’s all. Sorry if I’ve been keeping you up with my tossing and turning.”
“No, no… Petra, please. Talk to me?” Where has your friend gone? When you’d first joined and began training with her, she was the first person to befriend you. Even though Levi is now the closest person in the Corps, it used to be her, not too long ago, and you feel a little lost. Where has the time gone? How have you grown so distant so fast?
Petra responds with silence, and you wait with baited breath.
“Petra?”
More silence. You feel your heart fall; have you truly lost a friend?
You resign yourself to never knowing what is on her mind, before a voice, wet and wavering, cuts through the darkness, blurting out a question you’d never thought you’d hear.
“What do you think of Captain Levi?”
Levi? You’re stunned, what does this have to do with anything? Despite your confusion, something flutters in your chest at the very mention of his name. You sigh, burying your cheek into your pillow. “He’s a good man,” you begin. “A little rough around the edges, but I never doubted for a moment the kind of person he truly is. I can’t think of anybody else I’d rather fight alongside. And I…” you find yourself floundering for a moment. How could you even possibly begin to delve into what has occurred between you and Levi these past few months? How could you–
The realisation hits you like lightning.
Shaken by the discovery, you bring your knees to your chest underneath the sheets, the breath stolen from your lungs.
Of course. How had you not seen it later?
“So you do have feelings for him.” Petra interprets the silence correctly, dejected. She’s always been perceptive.
Her words are the final nail in the coffin, the final piece in the puzzle. “And you do, too,” you whisper, feeling your eyes burn. “Petra, I… I didn’t know, I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be. I didn’t want you to know.” She sniffles. “How could I even begin to explain something like this to you when you two just looked so… happy together?”
“We’re not together,” you say quickly. “Not like that.”
“No. Not yet, but it’s bound to happen in one way or the other. Don’t you see the way he looks at you? Like… like you’re the first rays of sun that seep over the horizon in the morning? Like you’re the first snowdrop that blooms after a harsh snowstorm? Like…” Petra gasps for breath, but manages to steady herself to finish her words. “Like you’re the hearth that keeps his home warm?”
You’re horribly conflicted - the very idea of Levi holding you in the same regard makes you so unbelievably happy, but at the cost of the woman you’d once considered your best friend? You shake your head furiously. “Petra…”
“Because I do. I see, I see how he looks at you. And I know that look, how c-could I not? H-he looks at you, like I look at him. Like I’ve always looked at him.” She descends into sobs.
You can’t take it anymore. Flinging the blankets off your body, you shoot out of bed and cross the room, perching carefully at the edge of the bed. Tears carve hot and wet trails on your cheeks, but you reach forward, fumbling in the dark. “I’m sorry,” you whisper in between Petra’s muffled sobs, “I’m sorry that I’ve been causing you so much heartbreak this whole time.” You stroke her heaving back through the sheets.
Petra shudders underneath your touch, riding out the sobs for a few minutes. When her breathing begins to steady, she gently pushes your hand aside. “It’s okay,” she whimpers, as she pulls herself up into a seated position. “It’s not like… it’s not like either of us could’ve controlled our feelings, you know? It’s not like we could’ve done anything about who he’d fall for, too.”
Guilt tugs at your heartstrings, and you sigh. “I’m sorry,” you say again, and you hate it, hate how hopeless and useless you’re being.
“Don’t be,” Petra repeats a little more firmly. “I… look, I’ll need some time to fully process this. But Captain Levi deserves to know happiness. And if it’s with you… who am I to stop that?” Her thin slender arms come to wrap around your frame, and you feel her head rest on your shoulder. She squeezes you tight, and you choke back a sob - it had been so, so long since you and Petra had talked for more than ten seconds, let alone hugged.
“Thank you. You’ll find happiness one day,” you try to assure her. “You deserve it.”
She nods. “I never meant for us to drift so far, but… I couldn’t bear the heartbreak, at the time. I wanted it to be me so desperately, but that doesn’t… that doesn’t justify how distant I’ve been… Walls, I really missed you.”
You hold her tighter, fingers curling in the fabric of her shirt. Closing your eyes, you sigh, and smile. “I missed you, too.”
----------
The alcohol simmers in your stomach, warming you up from the core, loosening your lips. Eld had invited all of you to his house to celebrate his engagement, and his fiancée, the daughter of a sommelier, had offered you all a glass or two of red wine. Not the cheap stuff that a Scout salary can just about afford, but the drinks served to the Walls’ noblemen and councillors. Suffice to say that you all had more than just the one or two glasses originally planned, and Eld and his fiancée had ushered you out of their house several hours later than expected.
“Sir?”
“What?” Levi responds. The two of you walk side by side, pressed up against one another. Fuck - it had been far too long since you’d had something to drink, your prior tolerance is all but gone. You can’t convince yourself that you’re not leaning on him a little to keep upright.
“Are you drunk?” He asks when you don’t respond.
“I’m fine,” you insist pointedly, “I’m only a bit tipsy.” To emphasise your point, you lift one hand and demonstrate just how tiny that ‘bit’ is, your thumb and pointer finger literally touching.
Levi raises his brow. “Sure you are.”
“I’m not drunk,” you insist.
“You’re such a lightweight.”
“Everyone’s a lightweight compared to you.”
Levi chuckles–actually chuckles, the sound sending butterflies flapping wildly inside of you–and slips an arm around your shoulders. You sigh. Perhaps he’s not as sober as he’s pretending to be either.
You pout. “You’re one to talk. You’re pretty tipsy, too.”
He shakes his head. “That’s a bold assumption. I’m just making sure you don’t trip over yourself and eat shit.”
“That’s very…” you smack your lips, wracking your brain for the right word, “chivalrous of you, Cap’n, thank you.”
“Is it?”
You nod. “Mm hm.”
The two of you trail behind the rest of the squad (bar Eld, who’s staying behind with his fiancée tonight) as you all walk back to the barracks - Gunther and Oluo have both slipped their arms around Petra, who walks in the middle, and though you and Levi are too far away to make out their conversation, the boisterous tone of their voices and their tipsy giggles are carried to your ears by the wind. You smile. Ever since the conversation with Petra, she’s been returning gradually to her old self. You sometimes catch sad, longing glances towards Levi whenever she thinks nobody is looking, but they are growing rarer and rarer. All you’ve ever wanted is for your friend to be happy, and for one day to find love.
Love - what a concept. You’ve hardly come to terms with it - love is something so sprawling and all-encompassing and just… it’s something you do not understand, and it terrifies you.
And yet.
What is it that they call alcohol, liquid courage?
You’re done being scared and insecure and uncertain. You’re courageous on the battlefield. Why not off it, too?
Here goes.
“Captain, have I ever told you that I might be falling in love with you, just a teensy tiny little bit?”
Levi freezes on the spot, which halts you mid-step as well. You stumble with the abrupt stop, but Levi’s arms tighten around you, quickly rightening your balance. “What?” He croaks, eyes blown wide.
Your face is burning - and not just because of the alcohol. The courage fades as quickly as it came. “Um, actually, maybe… maybe more than a little bit,” you mumble. Now, you feel the chilly evening breeze nip at your cheeks, as you begin to sober up.
The warm orange glow of the lamp makes Levi’s cheeks look all the more round and rosy. He’s utterly breathtaking. “You’re falling in love with me?”
Your next words are hardly more than a whisper. “How could I not?” How could you not, when he made it so easy to fall?
Your Captain draws closer. Heart thrashing wildly against your ribcage, you reach forward. He’s ethereal up close - you can see the flecks of pale blue in his silver eyes, the way the golden lamplight glints off his delicate lashes, you can smell his faint cologne…
His hand gingerly rests on the small of your back, tugging you closer until you are flush against his chest. A small gasp escapes you; he is so close, your blood is roaring in your ears and you want nothing more than to close your eyes and lean in and lose yourself in him–
Warm, soft lips meet yours.
Oh. Oh.
Levi kisses you softly, gently. As if it is his first and his last. You melt in his embrace, worshipping his lips with your own, all thoughts fading away into pure blissful ecstasy. Running your fingers through his soft hair, you hum contentedly. The world fades away, the cold replaced with warmth, and oh, how you wish you could slow down time, stop it, and build yourself a home in this wonderful, beautiful moment.
“By the Walls!” Someone yells in the background, almost cutting through the haze you and Levi have lost yourselves in. It sounds vaguely like Petra. “They’re kissing! They’re kissing–Oluo, Oluo, damn it, turn around, you’re missing this, they’re finally doing it and you’re missing it, and Gunther, you better pay up, I knew something was going to happen between them tonight, I knew it–”
You laugh into another kiss, and Levi’s thumb brushes your cheek as his hands cup your face. When you part, you chase his warm, soft lips with a sigh, but he pulls back.
“I might be falling in love with you, too. More than just a little bit.”
“How much more?”
He chuckles and pecks your lips. “If you stay by my side, and we fight together… we’ll have all the time in the world to find out just how much.”
“I like the sound of that.”
Smiling, you cup the back of his neck and pull him in for more.
And so it begins.

Hi, I know people oftenly compare Rivetra to Levihan but I’m a fan of Hange soooo I don’t really like their fights 😭😭 what if a Rivetra au where in Levi introduces Petra to his friends and then Hange started crushing on her and Levi is just so annoyed and jealous because Petra’s obliviously reciprocating Hange’s flirts
Hi hi! I am so sorry that this was so late but I kept starting it and changing my mind about what I wrote. I was also waffling on way too much and, honestly, if I'd have let myself, and didn't already have a million WIPs, I could have easily turned this into a chaptered piece. It did turn out rather different than planned though but I hope you're okay with this.
I really love the idea and I absolutely support you in that I don't like seeing shippers fight over ships. Rivetra and Levihan are both awesome. As are most Levi ships, let's be honest.
---------
Summary: Levi tries to bury his jealousy when his new friend Petra is getting on swimmingly with Hange. But a game of laser tag leads to some interesting revelations.

“Leeeviiiii, Petraaaaaa!!!” Hange’s greeting bounced all across the bowling alley parking lot as they jumped up and down, arms wafting through the air like those of a windmill.
Levi clicked the lock on his car keys, the answering click of the vehicle almost drowned out by Hange’s echoing voice. He pocketed the keys and reached up to rub the bridge of his nose. They were giving him the beginnings of a headache already. He could feel it beginning to sprout up between his eyes.
“Yoohoo!!!” Hange continued as if a dozen people weren’t already staring at the spectacle they were making of themselves. “Come on slowpokes. We’ve got asses to kick! Right baby?!” they yelled. Levi didn’t have to ask who they were shouting at now. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Petra laughing and waving back at the messy brunette.
“Too right!” Petra cupped her hands around her mouth and called back as she and Levi headed over to where the group was meeting. “We’re gonna smash them!”
“Damn straight we are!” Hange cackled back, equally as loudly. Some of the stares in their direction were turning to glares now, Levi observed. Hange really needed to grasp the concept of not showing themself up by being so loud. He and Petra were closing in on the group within seconds now.
Irritation gnawed away at him as he looked between Hange and Petra’s laughing faces. He hated the feeling because he knew it made no sense, that he had no right to it. Petra could laugh and play around with whoever she wanted. It shouldn’t bother him. He’d wanted her to get along with his friends, hadn’t he? So why was he this annoyed that she had? Even Hange, for all their lack of volume control, was not irritating enough for him to want to keep Petra away from them all the time. They were an acquired taste to be sure but even so, their  relentlessly enthusiastic interactions with Petra grated on his nerves.
“Bold words,” Erwin greeted, his voice carrying naturally without feeling the need to project himself across the parking lot. Dressed in his usual favourite colours - a baby blue short-sleeved shirt and beige shorts - he looked as friendly and harmless as he intended to look. It was all a front of course. Levi had seen the man plan many times by now and he couldn’t fault the man’s talent for still being underestimated despite repeatedly thrashing other people. That charming smile and enchanting blue eyes really did wonders for the man. Or he was just a natural-born deceiver. That was equally possible too. “But we’ll soon see who is going to be laughing at the end.”
“Not many,” Levi quipped, eyeing the rainbow psychedelic monstrosity that was Hange’s shirt, “judging by the headache that everyone’s gonna get from Hange’s shirt. Is that your latest strategy?” he mused.
Hange grabbed their shirt and held it out with a puffed up chest and a grin. “Wha-? This ol’ thing? Of course not!” They declared in mock-outrage, only to grin at Petra almost instantly afterward which provoked a laugh out of the shorter, red-haired woman.
“As if you’d ever do something like that, Hange,” Petra teased affectionately. As soon as Petra was close enough, Hange slung an arm around her shoulders and began to walk towards the entrance with her. Behind them, Miche and Nanaba followed, their hands linked quietly. Moblit and Nifa brought up the rear with Levi and Erwin.
“I guess Hange had Skittles for fucking breakfast again,” Levi grumbled quietly.
“You can scoff,” Erwin answered. “But I saw them doing just that this morning. Quite a sizable bowl too.”
“Jesus fucking christ.”
Levi’s attention lingered on Petra as she snuggled into Hange’s arm, chatting animatedly with the brunette as they left the rising heat of the parking lot. Her yellow t-shirt clung to her thin frame, rising up above her denim shorts. She wore brown sandals through which her colourfully painted toes peeked out. There was no pattern to the nails. One blue, one green and three orange sat on one foot while the other boasted a yellow, a red, a pink and two browns. Levi had long since given up on questioning Hange’s design logic.
He himself had opted for an outfit as low-key as always; he wore a plain black t-shirt, dark jeans and boots. Miche had offered for something similarly unobtrusive - a brown t-shirt that said “Everything smells great from here”  above a picture of clouds, paired with some sandy slacks and simple flats. Nanaba contrasted brightly in her baby pink shorts and t-shirt and matching sandals. It was an unusually gentle look for her and Miche kept smiling over at her. Levi wondered how attentive Miche was going to be in the match when he couldn’t stop looking at his girlfriend. Meanwhile, Nifa and Moblit had gone, whether intentionally or unintentionally, with matching red flanel shirts. While Moblit had paired his with some ripped skinny jeans, Nifa had opted for denim shorts that showed off her newly tanned legs from her trip to Marley recently.
———————————————
The refreshing air-conditioning wafted over the group like a wave as they all stepped inside. Rows of colourful lanes and even more colourful balls, shirts and shoes greeted them. Hange was already pointing out a good lane to book only to stop and point out another one. Moblit, despite his years of experience arguing with Hange, was discussing it with them. Levi watched Hange’s gesturing become more and more dramatic, their eyes gleaming behind their filthy glasses. Levi would be amazed if they managed to get any pins down if they were refusing to clean their glasses even for this.
It took them about fifteen minutes to pick a lane, agree (with much reluctance on Hange’s part) that they were not doing bowling shirts today, get their shoes and some snacks and settle down at their two lanes. Hange set up the two computers so that their teams were competing.
“Team Captain!” they declared, punching their fist in the air. They faced little opposition. Miche and Nanaba weren’t particularly concerned, nor were Moblit, Nifa, Petra or Levi. Erwin watched everyone for a moment before offering his own services. Then he made the mistake of giving Hange first selection over their teammate.
“Petraaaaaaa!” they beamed instantly.
Levi felt his mood plummet even more and inwardly cursed himself for that reaction. So what if Hange picked Petra? This wasn’t elementary school where such choices were usually personal slights towards someone else. What’s wrong with you? You don’t own Petra. So what if she’s on Hange’s team? You don’t want to be on Hange’s team. And yet, as he mused over this, he couldn’t help but feel that Hange’s team, even with the loudness that came from the captain, held a bit more appeal now. He shut down those thoughts for now. There was no point in them, especially with the way things stood. Anyway, he wasn’t entitled to anything like that from Petra and he wasn’t chasing it either. He was just being foolish.
Erwin looked around at everyone carefully before making his selection. “Levi,” he chose finally.
There was a relief in Erwin’s selection breaking up Levi’s thoughts although the certainty that he definitely wouldn’t be on the same team as Petra now, lingered. Even so, the promise of trying to beat Hange’s team filled him with some satisfaction. He could feel his blood pumping at the thought of beating them now.
Hange and Petra whispered together for a moment. “Miche!” Hange announced.
There were some raised eyebrows among everyone since normally Moblit was next to be chosen by Hange. Miche was always on Erwin’s team. Still, he smiled and went to sit next to Petra. Levi looked over towards Hange’s team and caught Petra’s surprise on her face. She grinned across at him and Levi felt his own lips tug upwards into the briefest and thinnest of smiles before he looked away from her. Hange immediately threw their arms around Miche and Petra and Levi ignored the irritation burning away in his stomach.
“Moblit,” Erwin didn’t even hesitate once Miche had taken his seat with his new team. Hange spun round with an impressed smile and Erwin shrugged. “You surely weren’t expecting me to pull any punches if poaching is the name of the game?” he challenged.
Hange clapped their hands once. “There’s my conniving rival!” they declared.
They eyed the remaining two to be chosen - Nifa or Nanaba. Their face contorted into annoyance as they eyed the two of them. By the way their gaze continually lingered on Nifa, the short redhead was clearly the favourite. But with Miche on Hange’s team now, Nanaba would be a double asset now too. But equally having someone’s partner on the opposite team could make a player ever more competitive. Which way did you play it? Keep them motivated by having them on the same team or raise the stakes by making them serve on different teams and risk competition improving or wrecking their games. Levi could understand the principle of this.
Although he had no partner in that sense, he was quite looking forward to competing against Hange and their team. Especially Miche. Levi pretended not to notice the amusement that tugged on his lips whenever Levi stepped up to bowl. It was even more amusing to watch that smile dip whenever Levi’s natural strength gained him a strike.
Just as it was quite entertaining to watch Hange peruse and debate their options in their own head as a few minutes passed. It was equally so when Erwin cleared his throat and prompted Hange to make a decision. She chose Nifa and so Nanaba joined Erwin’s team and promised her new teammates that they were going to crush their opponents.
“I don’t suppose you and Miche have a secret agreement that he’ll throw the match if Hange ever snatches him?” she queried with a grin.
Erwin chuckled. “That would be poor sportsmanship,” he chided her although there was no real firmness in his tone. “But had I such an agreement with me, it would count for nothing now that you’re on our team instead.”
Levi huffed with a slight smirk. “Yeah he’s not gonna lose face in front of you,” he remarked and Nanaba chuckled, running a hand over her face.
“Ahh well, I guess we’ll just have to play fair then,” she mock-complained and took one of the seats. “All right then, let’s take ‘em down.”
———————————————
Despite the teams switch up, the groups were still relatively evenly matched. Levi and Miche proved to be the better players on their respective teams. Erwin provided solid advice  to his teammates on maximizing the scores if they didn’t get a strike. Hange provided similar tips for their team although whenever they stepped up onto the lane, they played rather gung ho and their balls constantly slammed down on the lanes before they rolled. Moblit turned out to be something of a dark horse whenever he stepped up to bowl. He was a master at securing half-strikes each time even without Erwin’s tips.
“Hange, I don’t really want to be paying for any damage,” Erwin called over to them when one ball landed with a particularly deafening crack that had several members of staff looking over. Hange, to their credit, held up a hand in apology before continuing on with their game.
Strategy-aside, Erwin was a considerably good player himself. He made a lot of good shots although his determination to play around with angles and muse over how much arm strength to commit poked continually at Levi’s patience.
Petra herself wasn’t a bad player either although on most of her turns, Hange stepped up to speak to her. Levi would watch them gesture and enthuse about something or other. At one point they wrapped their arms around Petra and demonstrated posture and technique. As if the woman had never bowled before or been part of a winning team. More irksome was the fact that Petra seemed to let her. She laughed and patted Hange’s cheek then hugged her whenever their advice actually paid off.
Levi knew it shouldn’t bother him but despite that logic, it did. Knowing that just left him feeling even more pissed off. So he focused on what he could control which was his own performance (as well as pointing out things that his teammates were doing wrong). Making quips whenever “the great Erwin” got less than a half strike as well as suggesting to Nanaba and Moblit that they imagine Miche and Hange’s heads on the pins did make for comfortable distractions though.
Regrettably Hange’s team claimed the first victory and then a second victory after lunch which consisted of fast food that Levi considered too fast to justify being cooked properly. Even so, he ate his meal for energy if nothing else.
After lunch, Nanaba suggested they opt for something a bit more aggressive, throwing a smirk Miche’s way as she did. A lot of eyes lit up when she suggested laser tag. Even Levi had no objections to the prospect of taking aim at people and adding points to the team collection. Especially if it meant wiping Hange’s bragging smile of their beaming face.
Hange drove Petra, Nifa. Moblit and Nanaba to the laser quest hall while Erwin drove Levi and Miche. The car journey was perfectly peaceful without Hange shouting and pointing at everything and punching people whenever they saw a yellow car. However the drive was not without it’s nuisances. This one came in the form of a very tall, blue eyed busybody in the driver’s seat.
“You know, Levi,” Erwin remarked as he navigated them around a roundabout, “I hate it to say it but you’re going to need to act faster this time.”
“Excuse me?” Levi grumbled from the back seat. Even Miche shot Erwin a curious look.
“Speed doesn’t guarantee a win in bowling,” he remarked in some confusion.
“I’m not talking about bowling,” Erwin explained and raised his eyes to meet Levi’s in the rear view mirror. “I’m talking about getting Petra on your team,”  he told Levi.
Levi’s grumpiness quickly transformed into a scowl. “Did I say I wanted her on our team?”
“You didn’t have to,” Erwin replied. “The look you gave Hange’s team after Petra joined. Thankfully looks don’t kill or we’d be burying Hange soon enough,” he continued. He smiled and Levi wanted to punch it, to knock that smug look right off his face.
“I was glaring at Hange because they’re too fucking loud,” Levi lied.
“They’re always too fucking loud,” Miche laughed. “Today you were giving death rays out with those eyes of yours.”
“Smell that did you?” Levi grumbled.
Miche shrugged and gave the air a sniff.
“Please, Levi,” Erwin interjected as he pulled off the highway onto a quieter road that led to the outskirts of Mitras, “let’s not dance this dance. You care deeply about Petra.”
“That’s because we’re friends. Presumably you care about your friends, Eyebrows.” Levi argued.
“I don’t get grumpy when my friends get flirty with other people.”
“I told you-”
“Spare me the lies,” Erwin sighed. “There’s no shame in liking someone, Levi. I don’t know why you’re fighting this so much.”
“You know, just because you think you can read into my head doesn’t mean that you can,” Levi folded his arms. “There’s a word for what you’re doing, you know.” He remarked, tilting his head slowly as if realizing something. “You know what… yeah, I think that’s exactly what you’re doing,” Levi’s tone turned taunting at once. “And you accuse me of lying.”
Erwin’s shoulders tightened a little. “If I knew what you were talking about, I might be able to answer that.”
“You’re projecting, Eyebrows. This is about Hange,” Levi pointed out.
Miche snorted and side-eyed Erwin. “Is it your turn to play denial?” he asked.
Erwin’s grip on the steering wheel had strengthened. “I’m not denying my feelings for Hange,” he finally said after a significant pause. “But I can admit it, unlike some of us. This isn’t about me not facing up to that.” He looked back at Levi in the mirror again. “I can’t project what I’m willing to acknowledge.”
Levi’s lips tightened and he exhaled through them thinly. “However I feel about Petra, that’s my business.” Levi kept his answer sharp. He averted his gaze to the window and watched the city thinning out into suburbs quickly. “Anyway I know a lost cause when I see one,” he mumbled, “even if I did have those kinds of feelings for her.”
Miche was back to looking confused again. “Why?” he looked over his shoulder at Levi before the shorter man’s meaning began to land on him. “You think Petra’s flirting with Hange for real?” he questioned. “I don’t know about that. Hange’s leading the way in flirting with her but I don’t know if Petra’s into it.”
“There’s only one way to find out for sure,” Erwin cut into the conversation once again, causing Levi to roll his eyes.
“Let me guess. Wear my heart on my sleeve and see if she bites? Worst case scenario, I get my pride stamped but hey it’s all just personal growth right?” Levi drawled. “If that’s what you’re gonna suggest then that would be some pretty shitty advice, Erwin.”
“You’re right. That would be bad advice,” Erwin agreed, not taking his eyes off the road now as the speed limit lowered. “You should credit me with more sound judgment than that,” he added. “All you need to do is see if she’s interested in Hange. What happens next is up to you?”
Miche let out a short laugh. “You manipulative bastard.” Erwin glanced at his friend with a frown and, from the backseat, Levi scoffed too.
“So I find out Hange’s situation for you at the same time?” the raven-haired man questioned. “Yeah, this definitely sounds like a you plan.”
“It has to be better than you stewing over there like a poisonous mushroom not knowing Petra wants to be with Hange or not,” Erwin argued. He slowed down once more as a sign for the laser quest hall appeared. He steered the car into a left turn, into a large retail park. In the middle of which, the laser hall was marked by a scarlet hall and the word LaserQ hanging in rainbow lettering above the roof. “But if you’d prefer to stew, that’s your business?”
“You’re assuming, in all this, that I actually fancy Petra,” Levi grumbled quietly.
“If you want to stay in denial, Levi, that’s your business,” Erwin shrugged and pulled into a parking space.
Levi said nothing, abandoning the discussion in favour of leaving the car and waiting for Hange’s arrival which was not a long wait considering the speed at which they entered the retail park and swung into an empty spot a few spaces from Erwin’s. The parking lot for the retail park in general was fairly empty today, Levi noticed. Unusually so. Still, if it meant less of a cue and less screaming kids to contend with while waiting for their slot then all the better.
“How do you still have a license?” he quipped as Hange and the others joined them.
“I’ve been asking them that for years,” Moblit chuckled, shaking his head at Hange. “You drive like a maniac.”
“Like a maniac?” Levi smirked over at Hange. “They are a maniac.”
“And proud of it,” Hange snapped their fingers into a finger gun at Levi. “The world needs some good maniacs in the world. You’ll be thanking me when I make significant scientific advancements in pharmaceuticals.” They declared, chin raised high in determination. “I’m coming for you, Common Cold!” they added, pointing ahead of them.
Petra fell into step beside Levi, shooting him a serene smile as she did. “I expect your ride was quieter.”
“You’d think,” Levi mumbled, shoving his hands into his jeans pockets, “except I had Erwin yapping some life advice at me for the whole journey.”
Petra laughed again. The sound made Levi’s chest feel less constricted. It filled his eardrums with pleasantness. “That’s pretty deep for a Saturday afternoon,” she mused. “What was he trying to advise you on?”
“Just some general decision-making,” Levi answered with a shrug. “I can’t say his advice was that helpful.”
“Maybe you should pretend that it was,” Petra snickered, “otherwise he’ll keep trying.”
Levi huffed out a small laugh. “That’s not a terrible idea.”
Yet even as they continued their walk towards the laser tag hall, Levi couldn’t help but reflect on Erwin’s advice and the opportunity he now had to ask Petra about Hange. Hange was hanging onto Miche and Erwin up ahead while Moblit, Nifa and Nanaba were discussing game tactics just behind them. He could stop Petra for a few moments and ask.
He could do. It wasn’t the worst advice that Levi had ever received. It was fucking awkward though because then it invited the question of why he was interested in the first place. If he played it off as curiosity then she might smell a rat anyway. It wasn’t like he usually sought out any gossip about other people’s relationships. He, honestly, couldn’t spare the interest and the time to waste on such things. Which left very few plausible possibilities left and generally they lingered far too close to a result that he wasn’t going to like. That awkward rejection. After all, Levi considered himself a good reader of people. He was fairly adept at getting the measure of people and he was sure that if Petra did feel something then surely she’d have shown something of it by now. She wasn’t like him, a hider of emotions. She wore hers in a way that Hange would call “healthy compared to Levi”. So that only left the conclusion that Petra only saw him as a friend.
With that in mind, why would he want to draw attention to it and make their friendship uncomfortable. Surely his feelings would eventually disappear. He would learn to ignore them. Better that than living with perpetual remembrance and awkwardness. So, no, he didn’t need to hold her back for a conversation about that. He could live with things like this and leave that unspoken. It was unusual for Erwin to not account for that when he gave Levi the advice although perhaps that just wasn’t something that would concern him.
“Are you all right?” Petra’s question surprised him out of his own inner monologuing.
“Yeah,” he semi-lied. “Just enjoying the quiet while I can.”
Petra laughed softly. “Yeah, not a bad call. I love Hange to bits but they should really come with volume control.”
“Or a mute button.”
“Don’t be mean,” Petra elbowed him a little. “You don’t need to pretend that you don’t like them. They’re one of your best friends.”
“I can care and still think that they’re noisy as fuck,” Levi quipped as the pair of them walked through the doors into the facility.
“Better hope they’re not on your team then,” Petra teased.
Levi cringed as he imagined Hange’s tendency to whoop alerting the enemy to their whereabouts. “I can only pray for that,” he muttered.
Petra laughed once more as they quickened their pace to join the others who were gathering at the counter.
Hange was already talking with Erwin who briefly caught Levi’s eye for a moment. “As you and I were both team captains last time, Hange, perhaps others can take those roles this time,” he suggested quickly. Levi buried the satisfaction that was attempting to show itself on his face. If Hange wasn’t captain, they couldn’t choose their team members.
“Yeah, okay,” Hange agreed and stepped to one side with a grin. “So who wants it?”
There was a scattering of conversation between them all before Nifa raised her hand as did Petra, to Levi’s surprise. He eyed her with one slightly raised brow and it lifted even higher when she winked at him before looking away and gesturing for Nifa to make her selection first.
“Hange!” Nifa pointed dramatically at the brunette who cackled and did a victory dance on the spot.
“Dream team alert!” Hange declared before bouncing over to Nifa like a hyperactive five-year-old.
Levi fought back an eye-roll and prayed that Nifa wouldn’t make him her second selection. He focused on Petra who was gazing around thoughtfully at everyone. Then, her attention snapped to Levi in a second. “Levi,” she declared.
His heart did a strange motion in his chest and he pushed down the feeling, chiding himself for being ridiculous. He did, however, lean in to Petra’s ear as he stepped up next to her. “Appreciate it,” he murmured. She chuckled softly.
Nanaba joined Nifa’s team next and Erwin joined Petra’s. Moblit was selected for the final member of Nifa’s team while Miche joined Team Petra.
Hange evaluated Petra’s team as they all began to put on their battle vests. Petra’s team was lit up in purple light while Nifa’s team was lit up in green. Hange quickly unfastened their hair from the ponytail then shoved it all up again into one that was - to Levi’s frustration - even messier. “Y’all are going down in ways you can’t even fathom yet,” they cackled as they finished their own straps and began to help Nifa with hers despite the girl’s laughing insistence that she could manage. Levi was quite convinced at this point that Hange was just incapable of staying still.
“We’ll see about that. You’re not the only strategist in the room, Hange,” Miche fired back with a smile.
“No, but I’d watch your back. Who says he won’t throw one of you to the wolves to protect his own score?” Hange teased, wriggling their eyebrows.
Moblit eyed them with some suspicion. “You jumped to that strategy awfully quickly.”
Nifa laughed. “Okay maybe don’t get too close to Hange guys!”
“Hey! I would never!” Hange slammed a hand over their heart exaggeratedly. “Tut tut tut, such little faith in your comrade.”
“That’s not exactly something that you would never do,” Moblit smirked at them. “I still remember the February 2021 incident.”
“I apologized for dislocating your shoulder,” Hange pouted with folded arms. “And I was not pushing you in front of me! That kid, Stephen, was all lined up to hit you. I just got carried away in moving you,” they recalled.
“You think?” Moblit laughed and slung an arm around Hange. They leaned into his hug with a grin.
“I feel like that is gonna be on your tombstone, Hange,” Nifa said in a loving voice. “They got carried away.”
Hange’s grin seemed to stretch even wider. “That would be a fun - and apt - epitaph for me. Although Saviour of Mankind from the Common Cold would also be good too.”
Laughter bubbled through the group as they stepped into their teams so that the attendant could lead them inside their room.
“Good luck,” Nifa and Petra declared and shook hands.
They were led into a darkened arena with multi-coloured lights projecting on different areas. Across the middle of the floor rose many tall walls, some of which had holes cut into them of various shapes. Lines of thin little lights illuminated the pathways around the walls.
The two groups stared down at the layout as they began to descend the stairs leading into it. Nifa’s team walked ahead. Petra slowed down so that her team was held back a bit. Concentration burned across Petra’s eyes as she stared down at the arena. Beyond her, Levi could see Hange’s eyes scanning over it all. He didn’t doubt for a moment that they would memorize at least most of it with their impressive memory. They may be a noise nuisance but their intelligence was not to be underestimated here.
He focused on looking back at Petra who was slowly stepping down, observing as much of the set up as she could. He could see her lips pressing into a thin frown as she did. “Hey,” he said quietly, putting a hand on her shoulder, “just do your best. We’ll figure it out.”
“Yes, don’t worry. They only change the layout a finite number of times,” Erwin added as he leaned over Levi’s shoulder. “We’ve probably played in this one recently.”
Petra nodded and was silent for a moment before she exhaled. “Thanks guys.”
“I’ll be able to sniff those guys out no problem,” Miche added and Petra laughed softly.
“There’s perks to having a sniffer dog,” Levi muttered and heard Miche huff out what sounded like a laugh.
“Okay teams, take up positions,” the attendant called once they’d all reached the bottom. She pointed to a gigantic clock on the wall, glaring down with red light. “When the timer starts, the game begins and points will begin to count. You have three minutes to get yourselves into positions,” she added.
Now that they were on ground level, everything in the arena rose up imposingly. The two teams began to move out along different pathways, spreading themselves over the space. Levi hurried swiftly along several paths before ducking behind a short wall that jutted out on two sides, providing excellent over. He crouched down and pointed his gun up, ready for anyone that might use common sense to check this space. He listened to the shuffling of feet as teammates and rivals similarly found spots in which to hide or launch their attacks. Staring up at the scoreboard that had now appeared below the clock, he tightened his grip on his gun.
“Woohoo! Let’s go!” Hange cheered.
“Shut up!” Levi heard Nifa hiss although there was a giggle in her voice.
He refocused on the clock again. 60 minutes was frozen to the screen. He steadied his breathing, waiting for that number to shift.
Come on. Come on.
59:59
There was a scuffle of movement from all sides and almost instantly Levi heard the first sounds of shots being fired followed by increasingly hurried footsteps moving around the arena. Here, there and everywhere they ran. He looked in the different directions, trying to focus on the immediate threat. His senses snapped into place, focusing on those noises nearest to him. His body stiffened and, tightening his grip, he remained in a crouch, waiting with baited breath.
He rolled his eyes as Hange’s triumphant cheer accompanied a grunt of disappointment from Miche. However Hange’s cry soon turned into a yell as their vest beeped with the sound of a hit. By the sounds of the feet hurrying away, Levi would guess that Erwin had landed a hit.
A blur of green light rushed past Levi’s spot and he wasted no time in opening fire. Moblit stumbled to a stop as his vest announced his hit. He glanced back at Levi and then rushed off again. Levi instantly moved away from his hiding place and crept around a corner. There was a long stretch of unattended space so he hurried along it. At the last second, Nifa jumped out and fired at him. He leapt aside just in time and took a shot at her. It missed and she darted down another path. He began to pursue when the hairs on the back of his neck tingled. He spun around only for Hange’s shot to hit him in the chest.
Hange cackled and threw up their hands in the air in victory. Suddenly their vest lit up again and they turned around, fuming when they saw Petra appear behind them. “Traitor!” they exclaimed in mock outrage before rushing off once more.
Petra grinned and strode up to Levi. “All’s fair in laser tag,” she called back to Hange.
“Nice shot.” Levi said, pushing her back out of the line of sight they were stood in. He cast a glance up at the scoreboard which proclaimed that Petra’s team were ahead by ten points so far. However the sound of another blast quickly brought Nifa’s team up another ten points, signaling a draw. “Come on,” Levi urged Petra to follow him down a diagonal path that cut across the arena.
They made it down the path and along another before they rounded the corner and came face to face with Nanaba who opened fire with a grin. Petra cursed, laughing, as she was hit but Levi dodged and fired squarely at Nanaba’s chest.
“Nice one,” Nanaba smirked before dashing off down the way Levi and Petra had come.
Petra and Levi quickly made their way up the path, with Levi following behind Petra in side-steps, keeping his eyes on anyone who might come up behind them. As they reached the corner, Petra looked around and raised her gun as blaster fire sounded. Across the room, at the opposing corner, Moblit was opening fire. The pair of them dodged each other with nimble side-steps. Levi stepped in next to Petra and joined in. As Moblit stepped side, he fell into Petra’s line of fire and she got him square in the chest.
Petra cheered before her own vest lit up. She spun around to see Nanaba facing her back the way she’d come. The tall blonde took a shot at Levi who immediately began to pursue her. She laughed and darted away. Grinning, Petra began to chase down Moblit. Halfway down that path, another one opened out and Nifa sprung out firing her shots.
Petra dodged but one of them managed to hit her and she playfully cursed. “Damn you ninja!” she cried out. Nifa gave her a grin back and half-bowed before scurrying off towards where Moblit had been, only to back away when Erwin appeared in the corner instead. “No, no!” she cried out as he opened fire on her and got her in the gun.
“Vengeance is mine!” Hange roared from somewhere behind Erwin and he turned with a smile, opening fire on wherever Hange was.
Petra gave chase to Nifa who ran into Levi as soon as she was able to shoot again. He shot her in her chest and she complained again and dashed off.
Levi and Petra glanced up at the scoreboard now.
Team Petra: 200  Team Nifa: 190
“It’s gonna be close,” Petra panted. Despite the fact that running wasn’t allowed, everyone was moving at a quick enough pace to tax themselves.
“You okay?” Levi asked, turning his back and aiming his gun at the sound of nearby movement. Hange appeared at the end of that pathway and he shot at their back. They immediately flipped him off and he smirked back, watching them flee the behemoth that was Miche.
“I’m good,” Petra told him and readied her own gun.
She set off again, taking turn after turn, quickly growing suspicious when she didn’t run into anybody for a few minutes. She spun around, keeping her gun level. She jumped over a cylindrical obstacle and, as she was in the air, she spotted a familiar blonde head crouched nearby. She reached the corner and saw Nanaba with her back to her, crouched behind a low barrier and firing across a space at Erwin who was also ducking behind a barrier. Neither of them found it particularly easy with their height.
Crouching low herself and keeping her body mostly hidden around the corner, Petra angled her gun towards Nanaba and, after a moment adjusting her precision, shot her in the back. Nanaba swore and fell forward from the shock. Petra rose up and backed away with a smile until her back hit a gun. She turned around with a yelp and Nifa grinned as she fired into Petra’s chest.
“Nice shootin’,” Nifa teased and raced around Petra. She began opening fire on Erwin only to yelp when her vest took a hit. “Damn you Miche!” she laughed.
Petra hurried back down the path she came down and then took one to the right. Halfway down that path, a hand reached out and grabbed her, pulling her into a small space, boxed off on three sides. She opened her mouth to point out the no-contact rule but Levi raised a finger to his lips and pointed towards the entrance to their spot with his gun.
Petra was about to say that she didn’t hear anyone behind her but seconds later, Hange appeared and Levi fired as soon as they spotted Levi and Petra.
“Damn you, Levi!” Hange cried out. Even so they grinned like a hyena and ran off cackling, making Levi instantly torn between suspicion and exasperation with Hange’s manic ways. Did they know someone else was coming along or were they just being insane as always? He stepped in front of Petra automatically.
“Levi,” she murmured but he hushed her.
He stepped back, lightly pressing her against the back of the space with his back. Petra’s hand dropped from the gun, instinctively touching Levi’s side. She felt his taut muscles pressing lightly against her chest. She felt the movement of his body as he breathed and a flicker of pleasure shot through her like lightening. This close to him she breathed in the subtle aroma of his aftershave mixed with the ever-so-slight tinge of tea. The back hairs of his undercut were millimeters from her face. An odd thought that she could lean in and press her lips to his neck with very little effort came to her and so her already heating cheeks inflamed even more. She suddenly found herself with the itch to reach up and play with the longer strands of his hair. She pushed that urge away - she was getting good at such things by now.
Her mind wandered, praying that nobody did come along to disturb this moment, that she could keep Levi here against her like this. There was no Hange to play along with and distract herself with now. There was no big group to hide the glances she gave Levi. There was no one she could gently nudge into telling her more about Levi. There was literally nothing between her and Levi and her heart recognized that, pulsing hard in her chest. Her brain was sending dizzying sensations all over her body in collaboration with her pounding heart. She wanted to kiss that jawline, to make her way up to those lips. She wanted to feel his arms around her, to be pressed against his lean, muscular form. She wanted her hands in his hair and to look into those perfect grey-blue eyes and see if what she felt was reflected in there.
She wished it was as easy to hug Levi as it was to wrap her arms around Hange. She wished that she could hold Levi’s hand and snuggle into him. She loved Hange to bits and they were a dear friend but Petra desperately wanted to transfer that physical affection towards her and Levi instead. But Levi wasn’t very demonstrative about what feelings he had full stop never mind public displays of affection - if he even felt affection for her.
Being pressed together in that space brought it all home; all the weeks of uncertainty since they’d met and never quite able to get a read on what Levi might feel. You haven’t made things easy for yourself, Ral, she mused. Yet, all the same, the situation seemed to offer itself up to her and, in those lingering seconds of silence and darkness, Petra felt every ounce of uncertainty slip away, to be replaced by sheer determination. I have to know, one way or the other.
“Levi,” she whispered, letting her gun hang down her front from its straps.
“Someone’s coming,” he muttered.
To hell with this game. Petra thought as her hands took hold of Levi’s shoulders and pushed hard, turning him towards her. His head jerked around, eyes confused and annoyed as they sought out her own. Before he could object, she moved her hands and pushed him against one of their hiding spot’s thin walls. Barely a breath left him as he hit the wall.
Petra leaned in before he could snap out some sarcastic comment or whatever. Her lips touched his in a second, soft but firm, pressing against his. He stiffened beneath her, or at least his body did. His lips seemed to relax under her touch. His eyes widened for a moment and then his lips lowered. He breathed out, moving his lips against hers with no effort to shove her off. Instead his hands, which had let his own blaster dangle between them, found her shoulders and clutched onto them.
Seconds later, his lips began to move against hers. He was kissing her back! Euphoria and victory danced together in Petra’s chest as she leaned into Levi, feeling his hands move to the back of her head and her lower back. The sounds of hurried footsteps and blaster fire disappeared under the heavy drumming of her own heartbeat against her ribcage.
His hand on her lower back moved to her right hip so that his arm rested at her back. His fingers on her head began to stroke her hair and Petra hummed into the kiss quietly.
He held her like she was precious. Like they were in a real war zone right now and he just had to keep her safe. He stepped forward and, for a moment, Petra expected to be pushed off. Instead he turned them so it was her with her back to a wall and it was Levi’s body protecting hers. She gasped a little and pulled away only for his hand on her head to move to cup her cheek instead. She lifted her soft amber eyes to his and began to smile up at him. He brought a finger up to touch her lips.
Behind Levi, a figure rushed past their hiding spot, apparently too intent on where they were running to or from to notice two hits they could have landed just not. But even so, right now Petra wasn’t concerned about hits or scores or hiding. Her thoughts lingered on the feel of Levi’s mouth on hers and how much she wanted to feel it again.
She reached her hand up to cup his cheek and jaw, pulling his face back towards hers again. He leaned in a little and they were kissing again and everything was sweet and simple. The world beyond them blurred into the darkness they hid in and Petra’s hands held his sides, their guns pressed against each other in a clatter of plastic.
The sound snapped Levi out of the kiss and for a moment he appeared dazed, looking into Petra’s eyes and then down at the guns. The remembrance of where they were seemed to hit them at once. Petra glanced up at the scoreboard and then the time above it.
35:27
Nifa’s team score was 60 points higher than theirs. Petra remembered that she was supposed to be the captain of this team after all.
Levi’s hands gently moved to cover hers, his eyes staring into hers for a moment. “We need to-”
“-get back to the game,” Petra finished for him. He stepped back from her and regret filled her chest at the absence of him. However, she stamped it out with the reminder that their teammates needed them and 35 minutes was not really a lot of time to unpack what had just happened and still try and win the game.
Levi nodded and picked up his gun. “Ready?”
Her head was still in a daze but Petra concentrated on the part that was still thinking logically. “You go one way, I’ll go the other,” she said. Already, Levi moving away was forcing her mind to clear which could only be good for their team in the long run. But they would talk about this. They had to.
The pair of them returned to the game quickly, racing through the arena and making use of obstacles and hiding places to defend themselves and launch sneak attacks.
The scores for both teams continued to fluctuate with each team taking the lead at different points. Hange’s amused reactions were so loud that most people had a good idea of where they were. Occasionally Nanaba would cuss out either Miche or Erwin. At one point Moblit was chasing Hange down accusing them of being a maniac. Petra and Erwin chased down Nifa and Hange until Nanaba and Moblit arrived as back up. Levi took the least amount of hits and his record of hitting his targets before they could respond to his presence helped him to continue this streak. Nifa and Hange managed to ambush Miche until Levi arrived to balance things out.
He and Petra bumped into each other only a few more times during the rest of the game. He placed a hand on her back to slip past her and, for a second, she was distracted by the tingling sensation that flowed through her. She barely managed to snap herself out of it enough to dodge Moblit’s next shot.
Those 35 minutes flew by and with a final shot by Miche to Hange, the game was claimed by Team Petra by 10 points.
Sometime between removing the equipment and heading for the exit, Hange slumped sleepily against the wall. There was laughter all around as Erwin lifted them into his arms and carried them out of the room. “The perils of having a big bowl of sugar for breakfast,” he remarked with a smile as Nanaba held the door open for him. Chatter lowered in volume for the sleeping Hange’s sake as the group made for the doorway. Replays of the best and worst shots were followed by ribbing about tactics and sneak attacks.
Levi and Petra hung back from the rest of them and the dissection of the mask. They walked in silence throughout the building and across a fair stretch of the car park.
Petra looked over at Levi with a thoughtful expression. Her lips parted as she tried to summon up something good to say in this situation but then remembered the audience of whoever was going to be in the car with them. She lowered her gaze and began to play with her fingers. Nerves crawled all over her body. This wasn’t something she wanted to sleep on or ignore until the next time they saw each other.
Meanwhile Levi was staring ahead of him, mostly anyway. In the corner of his eye, he could see that Petra was fidgeting. He could feel unease creeping around inside him as his thoughts were dragged back to that moment in the arena - the pleasant pressure of Petra’s lips on his, twice. The way she’d held onto him. The way she looked at him. It was like she was staring into his soul and that should have been something of a red flag. It was troublesome to have someone know you so intimately wasn’t it? That’s what his childhood self and his teenage self were screaming. But something stronger and deeper inside him was saying something else. It said that Petra was different.
Up ahead, Hange was being laid across Moblit and Nifa’s legs in the back of their car while Miche took the wheel with Nanaba next to him. Erwin turned to Levi and Petra.
“I’ll drop you two off.” His eyes looked between the two of them, his expression unreadable. If he detected anything, he made no comment about it. Levi simply nodded and Petra murmured a quiet thank you as they both climbed into the car with Erwin.
It was a long and mostly quiet half-hour journey back to the neighbourhood where both Levi and Petra lived. As Erwin began to pull onto a street several blocks from their apartment complex, Petra leaned in and asked him to stop.
“We’ll be fine from here, Erwin. Thank you so much,” she insisted as Erwin slowed to a stop.
Erwin smiled at her then at Levi. There was knowing gleam that Levi didn’t entirely like. “Okay if you’re sure. I’ll see you both soon.”
“Sure,” Levi said as he followed Petra out of the car. They waited for Erwin to drive off and Petra slowly began to walk with Levi moving quietly alongside her as she did.
“I thought we should talk about before,” Petra admitted, wrapping her arms around herself. “I don’t want this hanging over us and I just want to be honest.”
Levi fought back the emotions that were trying to show on his face. She regrets it. She thinks it was a mistake. His brain began to ramble. She’s trying to let me down gently. Well, let’s just stop that right here, shall we? Sourness flooded him. He should have pushed her off not allowed himself to wonder. This was a stupid fucking mistake. “Then just say it,” Levi shrugged, his tone hard and he hooked his thumbs into the pockets of his jeans. Get it over with.
Petra faltered, stopping immediately and staring at him. “You- you knew?” she asked quietly.
Levi stopped a few paces ahead of her, his tired eyes looking back into her pretty ones. “Yeah, it’s pretty obvious,” he told her.
Pink blossomed in her cheeks and spread over her face rapidly. “I…” she murmured as her brow pinched in annoyance, “I thought I was hiding it pretty well.”
“Well it’s crystal clear now.”
Petra bit down on her lip. “So… I guess you don’t… I mean…” she huffed in impatience at herself. “Is this you making your point without actually saying the words? Cos I kinda need to hear you say it, Levi. I can take it. I’m an adult. You don’t need to soft-soap me on this.”
Levi fully turned to face her, unhooking his thumbs and lowering his hands by his sides. “What the fuck are you talking about?” His brows lifted and some of the sharpness of his frown softened. “You’re the one stumbling over telling me.”
Petra looked baffled. “Eh?”
Levi lost patience with this little back-and-forth. “You’re trying to tell me that you regret the kiss. Don’t pussyfoot around it, Petra.”
“I don’t regret the kiss,” Petra answered immediately, silencing Levi. “If anything I regret not kissing you sooner,” she added, her hands grasping her elbows. Caution was clear in her eyes but her lips pursed with determination. This conversation had to happen one way or another.
It was Levi’s turn to wear confusion all over his face. “But you like Hange.” As he said the words, his mind was already flashing through images of the two of them together and the way it had made his stomach burn to watch that easy affection, to feel resentment for the fact that that affection wasn’t being displayed to him. He had tried to logic his way out of such thoughts and when that didn’t work, burial was always something he had made a half-decent job of. Now he was stood here being told that he’d gotten it wrong?
“I love Hange,” Petra agreed, “as a friend.” She began to smile again although he could see some unease gathering in those perfect amber eyes of hers.
Levi pursed his lips. A feeling of utter stupidity began to weigh down on him. He should have considered that this was just an affectionate thing between Petra and Hange. Hange was always hanging off their friends and hugs were their favourite way of greeting. He couldn’t remember them ever flirting with any of them though. Well, perhaps Erwin and Moblit but honestly those felt more like play than anything else. Of course, clearly his detection for such things wasn’t as good as it could be so perhaps he was just wrong about that too.
“Does Hange know that?” The question was not the thing Levi had intended to ask and yet it slipped out far easier than anything else he was thinking about asking.
Petra lifted her shoulders a little then lowered them as her smile widened. “If it comes up, I’ll put them straight.” She stepped closer to Levi. “I’m more interested in you… how you feel about me,” she confessed. “I’ve liked you a lot since the day we met at your mother’s garden party. Since we spent the whole afternoon talking,” she recollected with a reminiscent smile.
“The afternoon that you mostly spent talking,” Levi retorted although his lips twitched into a smile.
“You could have walked away. You’ve never been shy of doing that before,” Petra began to grin.
“I never said I was bored listening to you.”
Petra shifted from one foot to another, tilting her head with a bolder smile. “You let me kiss you again.”
“I never said I didn’t like you kissing me, either.” Levi argued.
“I guess there’s a lot that you’ve never said,” Petra mused, stepping even closer now, lowering her arms so they were almost chest to chest. “I’d much rather listen to what you do have to say,” she told him. “Because I don’t make a habit of crossing that line and I just really need to know if there’s something there for you too or… if I just need to forget this.”
Levi lifted his hand and inched his fingers towards her face until they slid over her smooth, round cheek. The words he wanted to say but had struggled with for so long rose to his throat as if summoned by some spell-caster. He leaned in a little until their noses were touching. “I care about you, Petra,” he told her. “You’re not just my friend.”
Petra exhaled softly and her hands lifted to hold onto his hips. “So… you…?”
Levi’s smile turned teasing. “Do you want me to spell it out for you?” and with that question, he leaned down to kiss her lips.
She smiled into it, and once again the world melted into the blazing golden light of sunset and the blurry shapes of an empty, quiet street.

more modern au levi x reader!! is it okay where reader makes petra jealous???
Just a reminder: WE DO NOT CONDONE PETRA SLANDER IN THIS HOUSE!!!
with that said, I will write this heavily focused on Petra to make it a lil angsty, hope you enjoy!
Summary: Petra watches her ex fall for another
Word Count: 1.7K
__
It had been two long years since Petra and Levi ended things. It wasn’t messy but it was painful, she had seen it coming from a mile away. He had grown just as distant as he had been when they first met. Staying late at work, texting her dryly, and using terrible excuses. Although she had known it was coming, she still was a wreck when he actually ended things. She spent the months following the break up drinking wine and crashing at Oluo’s place regularly. After two years she was finally feeling better, dare she say, ready to get back into the dating scene? Or at least that’s what she thought, she was scrolling through her instagram feed when she stumbled across Hange’s page. It was someone’s birthday, someone she wasn’t familiar with.
A woman with bight eyes and an even brighter smile was in the center of the group photo. On her right was Levi, who had an arm thrown casually over her shoulder, the faintest trace of a smile on his lips. Petra pinched the screen to zoom into Levi’s side, where she saw a feminine hand on his waist. She stared stupidly at the image. She shouldn’t feel jealous, she had no right. It had been two long years since the break up. But the picture only dredged up old memories of times when she would hold Levi that same way. When that smile was directed to her. She then turned her attention to the caption, which read:
Happy Birthday (Y/n)! 24 never looked so good!
She then scrolled through the comments, many of them consisted of birthday wishes and support. She lost interest when she didn’t see Levi’s username and instead went back to the collection of photos, three of them in all. The group one that she assumed had just been taken, the second one was a picture of Hange and you on the beach, Petra felt a involuntary wave of self consciousness wash over her at the site of you in a swim suite. The final picture was the one that hurt the most though, it seemed to be a very old picture of you, maybe from your early years in college? You were sitting on a couch with younger versions of Hange, Erwin, Levi, and Moblit. Levi’s arm was casually thrown over your shoulders. Why had he never mentioned you before? Were you the reason that they broke up? No Levi had assured her that it wasn’t like that, said he wasn’t seeing anyone else. She tried to stop herself from going down that rabbit hole, but she couldn’t seem to. Before she really knew what she was doing, she had clicked on your profile which she was almost disappointed to find as public. This meant that there was nothing stopping her from judging every perfect image that was posted, and to her pleasant surprise, there was only one photo of you and Levi. The photo was posted the week prior, the two of you were hiking in the mountains, the dusty trial behind you. Your face was flushed from the exertion of the climb, Levi seemed cool as a cucumber, his face blank and void of emotion. She scrolled through the post and found a video, the sound of your shoes crunching and Levi talking behind you were clear as day.
“I mean come on, who uses fucking Lipton? Have some god damn class.” Levi spat, as you snorted in amusement. Petra found herself chuckling along with you at Levi’s little rant. She felt a rogue tear slide down her cheek when you showed the phone to Levi, who’s face fell from being mildly animated to apathetic once more. You cackled as he swiped the phone and the video ended abruptly. It was so innocent, it was clear from the rest of your page that you were a private person, much like Levi. With little indication that you were dating him, it left her wanting to know more. More about the girl that had taken her place, had managed to worm her way into Levi’s heart of stone and make herself comfortable. As soon as these thoughts crowded into her head, she deleted instagram all together and powered her phone down, determined to wipe her memory of the images she had seen.
__
The music was a nice distraction from the awkwardness that hung in the air. You had arrived uncharacteristically early to Hange’s party, and consequently meeting a whole group of people that you had never met before. The new people were about your age, three young men and one stunning young woman. It was early fall and Hange’s annual bonfire bash as you all had dubbed the event. Basically you lit a massive fire, when you were younger it was your past assignments from your pervious school year, then it became just regular old wood. You tapped your finger against the cool beer bottle as you leaned up against the counter, the men were laughing obnoxiously as they dropped the alcohol that they’d brought into one of the many coolers. The woman was looking at you almost nervously, she seemed extremely on edge, shifting her weight back and forth, eyes wandering around the room in a jittery manner. You frowned, wondering what was bothering her, but ultimately deciding that it was not really your business. Erwin shimmied behind you, his hands on your shoulders as he slide past you into the kitchen. You caught his arm, clinging to his familiar presence.
“Erwin.” you hissed as he stooped to reach your level.
“Who are these people?” you asked as you held his bicep firmly in your grasp. He pulled away and looked at you with a confused expression.
“You mean Levi didn’t tell you?” He said slowly, clearly he was unsure if it was his place to speak on the relationship between Levi and these people.
“No....” You said carefully, not wanting to make Erwin uncomfortable.
“Oh well they used to work in the same department before Levi switched.” He said, he looked over to the men and motioned for them to come over, they ambled over with curious expressions.
“What’s up Erwin?” the dark haired man asked as he looked between the two of you.
“Just thought I’d ought to introduce you to (Y/n) here, she’s an old friend of ours from high school.” Erwin explained, his hand still comfortingly placed on your mid back. You waved shyly and smiled at all of them, including the girl.
“Pleasure to meet you.” The blonde with a ponytail said, outstretching his hand to shake yours.
“I’m Eld, this is Gunther, Oluo, and that fine young lady over there is Petra.” He said, pointing at all of them respectively.
“It’s so nice to meet you guys!” you said sweetly as you struck up a conversation with Oluo about what they thought about the department that they worked in. It didn’t go unnoticed that Petra remained nearly silent, her amber eyes wide and a bit fearful. When the interns arrived, the men were quick to go help them carry in the alcohol that they brought, leaving you and Petra alone in the kitchen. You cocked your head at her as you poured some pretzels into a large bowl. The warm glow of the setting sun cast a halo over her head and you couldn’t help but voice your admiration for her.
“You’re really pretty.” you gushed as she blushed at your words and turned to look at you with wide eyes.
“So are you...” She returned the compliment and you smiled, feeling more at ease now that the two of you were alone.
“So how long have you known Hange?” You asked conversationally as you crumpled up the bag and tossed it into the trash.
“Hm let’s see...about four years now?” She responded with a bit of a wistful tone.
“Really? I’m surprised we haven’t met sooner!” you chuckled as the two of you opened a bottle of wine and poured it into two large glasses. The two of you strolled out into the bark yard, where Hange and Moblit were chucking large pallets of wood onto the fire pit. You and Petra sat down in two lawn chairs watching as Hange and Moblit bickered over if it was safe enough to light the fire with gasoline.
“I am too, you seem....like a really nice girl.” Petra said a bit downcast as she looked deeply into her wine.
“So do you! We should grab breakfast ooo or maybe even brunch sometime!” You said excitedly and Petra sat there in awe, wondering if there was even a mean bone in your body. Or if you had any clue that she had dated Levi.
“Yeah...this is kind of random but...are you dating Levi?” She blurted out, her face turning to look at you with a flushed expression. You nodded nonchalantly and took another sip of your wine.
“Yeah we just started dating about a year ago.” You said with a shrug, Petra inhaled, readying herself for the next words that would either make or break the future relationship between the two of you.
“Did...you know we dated?” she said, cringing when the words left her mouth. She sounded crazy and she knew it, but she felt obligated to clear the air between you before it got bad.
“Hm I think he mentioned it once or twice, and Hange told me about you when you first started dating.” You said looking up thoughtfully, your tone held no malice or any sign of ill will.
“You’re not...”
“Insecure? Nah, and don’t take that like I’m being cocky! I just mean that...”
“No, no let’s just not do this. I’m sorry for bringing it up. God I’m such a bitch.” Petra went to stand and you followed her, catching her wrist.
“It’s alright really, I don’t care about what happened between you and Levi. It’s frankly none of my business, I just...wanna be friends with you.” you smiled at her sheepishly as she looked at you with wide eyes.
“Oh” She managed to say dumbly.
“That is if you want to be friends.” You said, letting go of her hand and giving her some space.
“Yeah...I think that I’d like that very much.” Petra said with a bright smile.
__
In honor of Women’s History month, I couldn’t bare to write something that was a stereotypical jealous ex, so I did the next best thing and wrote this more geared towards the reader and Petra bringing each other up instead of tearing one another down. As someone who was apart of the fandom back in like 2014 I am way too familiar with writers turning Petra into a psycho bitch, and I don’t like that. SO I hope that this is good enough to fit the prompt!

Tumblr media
“We need to talk. Come over to my office at 10:30 pm sharp, I do not accept ‘no’ as an answer.”
— Levi
You crushed up the slip of paper in your hands, feeling your anger and frustration increasing tenfold. Looking at your pocket watch, you still had a little over an hour before you had to meet with your squad leader. You decided to take a bath before meeting him, wondering just what the fuck Levi wanted with you after giving you the cold shoulder for the past week.
Unbeknown to others, you and Levi had actually been in a relationship for the past one and a half years. He had noticed your stellar performance when you were new in the Survey Corps on your first expedition out of the walls and took a liking to you. Levi was the one who asked you out first, and the both of you became an item after two months.
Six months later, Levi requested for you to be placed in his squad, and Commander Erwin approved his decision without a doubt; your precision with killing titans was something unmissed by Erwin as well. Levi, of course, had selfish reasons to put you in his squad. He couldn’t stand being apart from you for too long, he needed you by his side. He needed to be there with you while fighting the titans, he couldn’t stand second-guessing whether or not you’re still alive.  Humanity's Strongest was only an ordinary man in front of you.
However, you had to keep your relationship a secret. Recruits aren’t allowed to date others in the same squad, and Levi Heichou was no exception. Couples had to declare their relationship and be placed in separate squads to prevent conflict of interests. As such, the both of you had to maintain the professional superior-subordinate relationship around others. You had to bear with all the flirtatious looks the female recruits gave to Levi whenever he walked past; the way they worship Levi like he was some kind of god, the way they all craved to be near him, or get his attention. You hated how everyone looked at Levi like he was a piece of meat for sale.  You were pissed. You hated that ugly jealous monster growing bigger and bigger deep inside you. You wanted to scream and tell everyone that Levi was yours and yours only, but you can’t. You hated how possessive of Levi you have become.
And the one you hated most was Petra Ral, the only other female in Levi Squad alongside you. It was so painfully obvious that Petra had feelings for Levi; the way her eyes would follow wherever he went, the way she always called him ‘heichou’ in that disgustingly fake tone, and her overly pretentious behaviour around Levi. However, Levi seems to think differently.
“You think too much, brat. Petra’s just being nice,” Levi would always say the same thing whenever you brought up Petra’s behaviour. You were in his office after hours, the only time you both could meet without the scrutiny of the others. You were sitting on Levi’s lap, complaining to him about the flirtatious look Petra gave him earlier during dinner. Levi had an arm around your waist while writing his report on the recent expedition.
“Being nice, my ass,” you said scornfully. She wasn’t this gentle and nice and sweet around Gunther, Eld, and Oruo, was she? Petra’s just trying her luck to get Levi in her pants and you know it.
“Levi, she's thirsting for you, I know it! Her behaviour around you says everything! She’s not a day one recruit, why the fuck would she ask you to correct her grip on the controllers? Why the fuck did she pretend to ‘lose her pocket watch’ and ask you for the time when Oruo was next to her with his watch? And Petra’s not the only one, Levi. Open your eyes and look around you! Why the fu–”
“Enough,” Levi said coldly, eyes focused on writing his report. “If you have nothing constructive to say, I suggest you leave. I have work to do.” You gasped in disbelief.
“How dare you say something like that to me, Levi. I’m here feeling insecure as fuck and telling you how I feel, and you’re telling me to leave because of work?” You stood up from his lap.
“You know how I feel about Petra, and every other female recruit out there. This isn’t the first time I'm talking to you about this. Aren’t you going to at least put in the effort to listen to what I say? Or care about how I feel?” You were on the verge of tears, your frustration with Levi about to hit your threshold. It was already so tough trying to hide your relationship with him, and he’s not making it easier with that nonchalant attitude of his. Petra’s behaviour around Levi was your constant source of insecurity, and Levi never took that into consideration and tried distancing himself from her. Despite your outburst, Levi treated you invisible, and continued writing, flipping a page as he continued.
You hated arguing with Levi. With the others, he was never hesitant and always said what was on his mind. He was rude and often brutal, yet you know what he said will always be the truth. But with you, he’s silent and always letting you have the last word. You hated how avoidant he was whenever you both argued. You needed answers; a solution to the issue, but Levi never gave it to you.
“I’m talking to you, Levi, the least you can do is to look at me!” You shrieked and banged his table. Levi raised his eyebrow but continued to ignore you.
You couldn't take it any longer.
“I’m going to declare our relationship to Commander Erwin tomorrow. If being in a relationship with you is so improper that we have to keep pretending there’s nothing going on between us, then I would rather we be separated. At least we get to behave like how a normal couple should,” you turned and stormed out of his office without a thought. Levi growled and grabbed your arm.
“Don't you dare brat. This is not a child’s play,” Levi’s eyes were void of emotion. You tried prying his fingers off your arm, but his grip was tight. “Let me go, Levi.” You continued wiggling your arm, but Levi wasn’t letting go. On the contrary, his grip tightened.
“If you’re going to do something as idiotic as to declare our relationship, then I’m not letting go. Don’t you understand the implications behind this?” Levi’s voice dropped an octave lower. He was pissed, but you couldn’t care less.
“NO I DON’T! Is our relationship that shameful? Why the fuck must we hide it?! We can’t hold hands in public, we can’t even go on dates like how any other couple would, and I have to watch you behave like you’re single? Do I have to tolerate Petra and everyone else flirting with you? I had enough, Levi! If you’re not going to do something about it, then I will!” You shouted at Levi, using all your might to break free from his grip. Levi was not budging.
“If you tell Erwin anything, I’ll break up with you this very instance,” Levi let go of your arm and crossed his arms in front of his chest. “If you have nothing else to say, I suggest you leave, y/n,” Levi turned and went back to his table, continuing on with his report. His insensitive demeanour was the last straw, and the tears you tried so hard to hold back came falling without control.
Without looking back, you ran out of his office with a huge pang in your chest. This was the biggest argument you ever had with Levi, and it broke your heart. You let your insecurity get the better of you, you couldn’t control your temper and lash out at Levi. Your feelings were unappreciated, and you felt so misunderstood. Why can’t Levi understand that you’re not being sensitive, and you're not imagining things?
Ever since that outburst in his office, Levi avoided you like the plague. You hardly see him anymore, and your other squadmates couldn’t help but notice the awkward tension between you both.
“Are you and Levi Heichou alright, y/n?” Eld asked you in the kitchens. You both were assigned cleaning duties for the week and you were sweeping the floor while Eld was scrubbing the counters. “We’re fine, Eld-san, Heichou’s just being an ass,” you answered half-heartedly.
“Don't take his words to heart, eh? You know how insensitive he is when he scolds people,” Eld attempts to cheer you up. Tch, Levi’s insensitivity was the exact reason why you both even argued in the first place. You gave Eld a small smile. Eld finished scrubbing the counters and retreated back to his bunk for the night. As he left, you sighed and squatted next to the sink. It’s been a week since you talked to Levi.
You missed him.
You missed hearing his voice.
You missed hooking pinkies whenever you both walked near each other; those little touches that made your sensory system go overload, and the deliberate eye contact he would give you alongside that smirk on his face when he caught you staring at him.
You missed the late-night rendezvous in his office where you both would get really frisky; you sucking him dry under his desk while he tangled his fingers in your hair, or him experimenting with the number of times you reached your orgasm with just his fingers.
Although your relationship with Levi had gotten physical, you both never crossed the line. Levi wanted to take it slow; he didn’t want you to think that he's dating you for sex. You were comfortable with how things were going with Levi too. However, you couldn't help but wonder when that day will come. On occasions when things got heated and you wanted to have a taste of more, something in the back of your mind told you to stop. You were inexperienced and Levi was your first boyfriend. What if you didn't know what to do? What if you suck in bed and Levi hates you for that? What if Levi is experienced, and compared you to his previous lovers?
You slapped your cheeks. This wasn’t the time to think about losing your virginity. You and Levi were in a cold war. Sex was the last thing on your mind right now.  As you stood up, you found a torn piece of parchment hidden in the bag of potatoes under the sink. Picking it up, you recognised that slightly cursive handwriting. It was Levi’s. Opening up the parchment, it only contained a few words:
“We need to talk. Come over to my office at 10:30 pm sharp, I do not accept ‘no’ as an answer.”
— Levi
You snorted in disbelief. This is all he could say after ignoring me for a week? You wanted to burn the parchment and pretend you didn’t see it. He’s probably going to say something mean, what’s the point of going?
However, at ten-twenty sharp, you wore a shawl over your nightgown and left your bunk towards Levi’s office, feeling butterflies in your stomach. Is he going to break up with me? Am I going to be transferred out of Levi Squad? You kept repeating the negative thoughts in your head. Although you and Levi had dated for some time already, you never really understood what was on his mind sometimes, and today was no exception. Before you knew it, you reached the door of Levi’s office. Hesitantly, you knocked thrice before entering.
Levi’s office was the same as you remembered; spotless and empty with a hint of tea lingering in the air. Levi was seated on his chair by the table, staring at you with his head resting on his palm. You stood by the door, unsure of what to do. Is he meeting you as Levi Heichou, leader of the Levi Squad, or is he meeting you as Levi, your boyfriend?
“What do you want from me at ten-thirty at night, Levi Heichou?” You broke the silence. “Aren’t you a busy man?”
“Shut up and sit down, brat,” Levi answered, gesturing to his couch with his head. Oh, so it's Levi then. You felt the wires holding your patience snap.
“What the fuck? After one whole week of ignoring me, the first thing you tell me is to shut up and sit down?” You let out an incredulous gasp and crossed your arms, refusing to sit down.
“Are you listening to me? I told you we need to talk,” Levi walked over to the couch and sat down.
“I was under the impression that Levi Heichou wanted to see me.”
“Are you going to stop being a brat, or should I throw you out of my office instead?”
“Fine,” you walked over to Levi's couch and plopped yourself down next to him. Your arms were still crossed tightly in front of your chest, and you refused to look at Levi. Levi spoke after moments of silence.
“Hey, look at me,” Levi's voice was surprisingly gentle, and he gave your arm a tap.
“Don’t touch me Heichou, who knows how many girls you touched with those hands before I came over,” you shifted slightly further away from him. You were throwing a tantrum, but you couldn’t help it.
“I touched no one,” Levi forcefully grabbed you and turned you around, trying to pull you to sit on his lap like how you normally do. You tried your hardest to resist, but you couldn’t win. You ended up straddling Levi’s waist, while Levi had his arms around you.
“I'm sorry for ignoring you, it was wrong of me,” Levi said earnestly as he handed you a pretty little box with a ribbon on top. You looked at him quizzically and he told you to open it. It was a box of your favourite chocolate.
“Are you trying to bribe me with food, Heichou?” Your voice was full of displeasure, yet you took a piece of chocolate and started munching.
“I'm not bribing you. I’m apologising. And why are you calling me ‘Heichou’ non-stop you shitty brat?” Levi glared at you.
“Petra loves calling you that, so why can’t I? Unless you’re telling me you prefer hearing Petra calling you ‘Heichou’ in that fake sweet voice of hers than mine,” you said as you took another piece. Levi was looking at you expectantly, waiting for you to feed him the chocolate, but it wasn’t happening.
“Shut up about Petra. I didn’t ask you here to quarrel with you.”
“Then why am I here? You said you wanted to talk right? So what do you have to say?”
“I wanted to apologise. I’m sorry for ignoring you. I knew you were right about those girls. I just didn’t want to admit it. I knew I shouldn’t let them get so close to me, but I didn’t want to risk exposing our relationship.”
“Well, that’s a start. For once you actually agree with me. Is that all you wanna say?” You said between mouthfuls of chocolate. Your fingers were sticky but you didn’t have your handkerchief. As such, you sucked and licked the melted chocolate off your fingers. Levi took a nervous gulp. He was getting turned on, and the smeared bits of chocolate on your lips weren’t helping. He wanted to be the one to lick chocolate off your fingers instead.
“I’m sorry, okay, forgive me? Please?” Levi held you closer to him and tightened his arms around your waist. You could feel his warm breath on your lips and felt him staring at them. Was there something on your lips?
“I’ll forgive you if you promise to always listen to me, especially when it comes to those thirsty hyenas,” you took the last piece of chocolate with your teeth and held it there. Levi gingerly reached forward and took a bite of the chocolate, his lips briefly touching yours. The contact sent electricity jolting right through you. It’s been a week since you two had any form of physical contact after all.
“I promise,” Levi replied, and without a pause, he captured your lips with his own.
The kiss was soft and slow as Levi took his time tasting you. Your lips were sticky, but you didn’t mind. The kiss was sweet and tasty, with melted chocolate coming in between. You snaked your hands up his chest and draped them over his shoulder, and you felt a tear escape your eye. You missed Levi so much, a kiss just wasn’t enough. Levi broke the kiss after tasting something salty.
“Why are you crying?” He softly said while kissing your eyelids.
“I... I just missed you so much,” you broke down in front of Levi and covered your face in embarrassment. “You didn’t speak to me for a week, and I felt so miserable. I couldn’t confide in anyone because I don’t want to expose us. It's been so hard…” Levi removed your hands and tilted your chin up. You looked at him through your teary eyes. “I cried myself to sleep so often, I was so afraid Petra would hear me. I missed you so much but you ignored me, and—”
“I'm so sorry for hurting you. I’ll make it up to you, okay?” Levi smiled and ruffled your hair. You wiped the tears with the back of your hands and nodded as you crashed your lips onto Levi’s.
The kiss was different from before; it was hungry and urgent. You wanted to get back a week’s worth of kisses and touches. You never felt so needy for Levi before. You bit his lower lip, and as Levi gasped, you slid your tongue into his warm cavern, engaging him in a battle for dominance.
Levi tightened his arms around you, pulling you even closer as you leaned against his firm chest. As you arched your back, Levi’s hands felt every curve and crevice of your body. Your hands found their way to Levi’s shirt and you removed the buttons one by one. Breaking the kiss, your tongue danced across his jaw and you harshly bit his neck, leaving a mark you know damn well will turn into a bruise tomorrow.
“This is for ignoring me,” you growled after sucking on the same spot you had bitten. “And this,” you said as you bit down on another spot on his neck, “is for failing to admit that I was right about Petra thirsting for you.”
As you continued marking Levi, his brows furrowed while he kept squirming on the couch. Levi was extremely sensitive around his neck after all, and this was the perfect comeback to his shitty treatment towards you. When you bit hard on a particularly sensitive spot near his earlobe, Levi let out a soft moan.
“You’re not allowed to wear your cravat tomorrow, you hear me?” You tapped his cheek, ordering him. With a dazed look, Levi nodded as you removed his shirt, roaming your fingers across his toned body. Oh, how much you missed this feeling, the warmth radiating from his body, the goosebumps rising where your fingers previously touched. Levi's hands followed suit and slowly removed your layers of clothing, leaving you in your lingerie. As your clothes piled up on the floor, Levi lowered you gently onto his couch as his lips continued assaulting yours, his fingers skilfully unclasped the hooks of your bra which joined the rest of your clothes.
“So beautiful, my love,” Levi marvelled upon seeing your heaving chest, dragging his lips across your jawline, past your clavicles and down your cleavage, before engulfing your nipple, already hard from his kisses and touches. You let out a breathy moan, rubbing your thighs together in a poor attempt to dissipate the heat gathering around your core. One knee accidentally brushed against Levi’s crotch and he let out a hiss, staring back at you with a devilish glint in his eyes. As you tangled your fingers in Levi’s dark locks, Levi’s free hand played with your soft mound while the other found its way to the waistband of your underwear, pulling it down with one smooth motion.
“Ahh, Levi…” your remaining sentence never found its way out as Levi silenced you with a flick of his tongue against your soaking core. His firm grip on your hip was grounding you, preventing you from thrusting into his mouth as he took you on a trip to paradise.
“Shh, my love,” Levi briefly disconnected from your dripping cunt, eyes meeting your hazy ones. “I said I’ll make it up to you. So let me make you feel good, alright?” He gave you another smile before bringing himself back to your sex, giving your lower lips the attention they lacked for the past week. Levi took his time with you, slowly licking from the bottom upwards, gently sucking on your clit as though there was no rush for time.
“Oh y-yeah, j-just like tha—” your pull on Levi’s hair got stronger as the pleasure you felt got higher. Between licks, Levi inserted a finger knuckle deep into your core, eliciting a dirty moan from you once more. You were a melting mess. The knot in your stomach was tightening, your brows were furrowed, and sweat dotted your forehead. Yet, you couldn’t help but smile; Levi always knows what to do to bring you closer to your high. Once you got used to the sensation, Levi inserted another finger, pumping a steady rhythm while massaging your breast. He loved seeing you so needy, squirming around on the couch with a look of desperation plastered on your face. He loved hearing you mutter his name, with your messy hair and sweaty body on display.
“L-levi, I’m... gonna…” you could feel your release approaching, bubbling deep within you waiting to erupt. You clamped your thighs around Levi hard, and he didn’t mind. Levi’s fingers did a final curl before you jerked violently, letting out another cry while gripping the soft covers of the couch to steady yourself. Levi extracted his fingers and licked your slick off, making sure that you were watching him do it. Seeing an obvious bulge in his pants, you let out a laugh before pulling Levi down to hug him while slowly recovering from your orgasm. Levi returned your smile and leaned his forehead against yours, staring deep into your beautiful irises.
“Hey,”
“Hmm?”
“... Do you want to do it… for the first time?” Levi’s eyes were locked on yours, sensing any hint of discomfort. Your eyes briefly flicked to his lips before returning to his mesmerising grey ones. Was today the day it finally happened? Were you sure you really wanted this? Did Levi really want this too, or is he just trying to make up for the past two weeks, making up for lost time?
For once you felt afraid of the unknown, unsure of what to expect. Does it hurt? Does it really feel as good as what people described it to be? However,  you know you could trust Levi with your life. He would never hurt you, and never betray your trust. You were willing to go beyond the depths of hell for this man. Contemplating your choices, you knew the answer was just waiting to be said.
“Yes,” locking eyes with Levi, you gave him a nervous smile. As if on cue, Levi snapped up and pulled down his pants and underwear, throwing them on the floor. Your hand went forward and tugged on his erection hard. Heat crept up your cheeks, and you wondered why you were feeling nervous all of a sudden. You’ve seen each other naked countless times, why would this be any different?
Levi’s erection prodded your wet entrance and you squirmed at the foreign feeling. His eyes were locked on to yours, as though he not only wanted your bodies to connect but also both your souls. Slowly, Levi entered you bit by bit at the slowest pace he could manage. You wanted to scream and pull your hair. You've heard people saying that the first time would hurt, but you never expected it to be this bad.
“A-ah! OW!” You let out a shout as you felt like your cunt was being ripped apart. “Oi, shh, brat, do you want to wake the entire barrack up?” Levi groaned as well while he tried to distract you by kissing your sensitive spots. All he could think and try to focus on was how tight you were, and how you were squeezing every inch of him, sucking him whole. It felt exhilarating, the way your walls contracted around him. It felt good, too good, better than having your hand wrapped around his shaft, better than your mouth sucking him deep. Your warm cavern fit him perfectly, as though you were made for him. Levi felt like the happiest man in the world.
At long last, Levi was buried deep in you, he let out a grunt, feeling a strong urge to move. On the contrary, all you felt was still a stinging sensation and a burning rage.
Why the fuck do people enjoy sex when it hurt this bad?
You breathed in and out, trying to get used to being stretched this full. Levi looked down at you while you grimaced. Was he doing something wrong? Why do you look like you're in pain the whole time? Do you not enjoy it as much as he did?
“O-oi, y/n, can I move?” Levi spoke after a while. Your brows were still furrowed and your fists still tugged at the covers. Maybe you were too tense. You tried to relax, your back no longer arched but is now levelled with the couch. Strangely, it felt better. Your fingers loosened, your forehead no longer in a frown.
“Y-yeah, but slo-slowly,” you managed to mutter. Levi bent closer to you and placed his forearms by your head. Moving his hip, he slid out slowly, afraid of hurting you. You groaned at the weird feeling once more, and you furrowed your brows again. Seeing your pained expression, Levi kissed your brows each time he moved, trying to change the angle he entered you. You weren’t used to the stretch yet, but it gradually got better. Levi maintained his speed, keeping his eyes on you and making sure you weren’t in pain. As Levi kept on sliding in and out of your tight cunt, the pain and stretch were slowly overtaken by an odd sense of pleasure instead.
“A-ah, Levi—” you moaned, feeling a familiar tingle down south. “Oh?” Levi whispered and sat upright and continued thrusting steadily in you. Slowly but surely, you were beginning to feel your toes curl and your stomach tighten. Levi was feeling it too. You were unknowingly contracting and relaxing your cunt the whole time and although it was a slow buildup, Levi was definitely on Cloud Nine. Levi let out short moans of delight, grunting and panting each time he felt your walls contract.
“Oh my god Levi, wh—” you inhaled sharply as Levi’s dick kept rubbing against a particular spot. The more he rubbed, the better you felt. Your groans of pain became cries of pleasure, your hands that were clutching the couch covers started toying with your own breasts. Sensing you were no longer feeling discomfort, Levi gave you a helping hand by sucking on your nipple while his hip gradually went faster. You felt ecstatic, very stimulated, and eventually became a whiny mess.
Incoherent mumbling started spewing from your lips as you felt your stomach tighten even further, the itch in your cunt becoming stronger and stronger. You started rocking your hip, trying to match up to Levi’s pace. With the added motion, Levi gasped while sitting upright again, his hands grabbing and playing with your chest. Your moans became louder, you were embarrassed at how you sounded. You covered your mouth, trying your best to muffle your voice, afraid that someone really might hear something.
“Levi, I-I’m, oh my god—” you felt your stomach contract, your walls clamping down harder on Levi. You were so close, just a bit more and you know it. Levi continued to thrust deep into you, maintaining his pace to make you feel every inch of him. With one final thrust, you came undone, clamping Levi as you rode out your second orgasm of the night and your hip continued grinding down on Levi. Feeling your walls pulsate around his dick further drove his feral senses and with a harsh thrust, Levi let out a moan before quickly pulling out, hot sticky semen spilling out seconds later on your stomach, with a little drop flying to your cheek.
The both of you tried to catch your breath and you licked that droplet of Levi’s cum off your cheek. As you two slowly came down from your high, you looked at each other again and simultaneously you both broke out in a smile. Interlocking your arms around Levi’s neck, you pulled him down for a kiss, feeling your breathing slowly coming back to normal. Levi broke the kiss and leaned his forehead on yours again, arching his body to make sure he’s not in contact with the cum on your stomach. Looking into your eyes, he gave you another gentle kiss before stroking your cheek.
“You feeling okay?” You smiled and nodded, biting your lower lip. “Never felt better. You?”
“I’m fine. Relieved, actually,” Levi chuckled. “You have no idea how long I’ve been waiting for today.”
“Me too, actually. There were so many times I wanted to go further, but I was afraid it wasn't what you wanted.”
Silence soon took over, the only sound heard was the crickets outside and the gentle crackling of the fire. So what’s going to happen now that you both finally did have sex? Did Levi like it? Was it up to his expectations?
“Did you… feel good?” You questioned Levi, embarrassed to look him in the eye. It was your first time after all. You bit your lip again. Levi tch-ed and kissed your forehead. Lifting you up in a bridal carry, Levi slowly walked to the bathroom joined to his office. Sitting you on top of the toilet bowl, Levi took a towel from his cabinet and wetted it before wiping his cum off your stomach.
“I did, you silly girl, stop worrying,” Levi ruffled your hair before preparing the bath. As you watched Levi, you only had one thought in mind, something you needed to say out loud.
“I love you.” You blurted as Levi lowered you into the bathtub. Levi was caught by surprise, he wasn’t expecting that from you. Grabbing your hand, Levi looked at you in earnest. He took a deep breath before answering you.
“I love you too, okay? So trust me.” Levi gave you a small smile. “I'm serious about our relationship, and absolutely serious about you. I will never have feelings for any other woman. Every part of me belongs to you. My body, my heart, my soul. And for fuck’s sake, even my dick belongs to you.” You giggled hearing Levi's last sentence and got into the bath, pulling him in together with you. Once you were done, you both left the bathroom and dried yourselves up. Picking up your clothes from the floor, you wore your undergarments and was about to put on your nightgown when Levi hugged you from behind.
“Stay with me tonight, please?” Levi spoke in a soft voice and you felt heat creep up your cheeks. No matter how late it was, Levi never asked you to stay the night for the chances of being discovered was too damn high. Hange and Mike always visit him unannounced and Erwin also pops by sometimes. Levi didn't want to get you in trouble so he never dared to put you at risk. Yet, Levi was willing to put those risks aside for tonight, and probably from today on.
“Of course,” you gave Levi a smile and a kiss to his cheek before walking to bed together with him. Snuggling together, Levi pressed a kiss on your shoulder before whispering 'goodnight' to you. Although you and Levi cuddled before, it was never like this. This newfound intimacy was foreign to you, yet it had you feeling warm and biting your lip. This was something you could slowly get used to. Turning to face Levi, you kissed him goodnight and dozed off to sleep.
┍━━━━ ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ━━━━┑
“Heichou!” A shout came from outside, and there was frantic knocking on the door. You groggily rubbed your eyes, turning around to see Levi still sleeping next to you. Checking the clock, it was only seven in the morning. Who in the fucking world had business with Levi on a fucking Saturday morning? Putting on Levi's shirt, you got up and made your way to the office door.
“Heichou, wake up!” The knocking resumed, and you recognised the owner of that voice: Petra. “Heichou, wake up! We’ve got trouble! Y/n’s missing and—” you opened the door and stared angrily at Petra who in turn looked at you in horror.
“... y/n? Wha-what are you, no, w-why are you in—” Petra looked around, thinking that she might have knocked on the wrong office.
“Oi, brat, who’s making all that noise?” Levi’s muffled voice came from inside and Petra’s face turned as red as a pint of chilli sauce. She eyed you up and down and after looking at your angry face, Petra seemed to connect all the dots together and she ran away without a word. You rolled your eyes and went back to Levi’s bed.
“Who's outside?” Levi mumbled, pulling you close to him and burying himself in the crook of your shoulder. “Oh, it’s just Petra. She’s looking for me,” you nonchalantly told Levi, yet you couldn’t forget the look on Petra’s face when she realised your relationship with Levi. “I guess Petra and probably everyone else will stop flirting with you from today onwards.”
“Tch, let them. I don’t give a titan’s fart about it,” Levi opened his eyes and rubbed them sleepily. “Don’t wanna hide our relationship anymore.” You turned towards Levi, sweeping  his fringe out of his eye. “But what if we get separated?”
“Then I’ll go threaten Eyebrows about quitting,” you playfully hit Levi’s shoulder, telling him off for joking about something serious. Levi pulled you close to him, the sleepiness long gone. “I’m serious. I thought about it the whole time we weren’t talking, and I realised that I don’t want to be without you.” You looked at Levi, feeling tears forming in your eyes again.
“I want you with me, always. I don’t care about what others say or think anymore. I want you by my side.” Levi gently held your hand. You could sense his sincerity in every word he said. He was willing to sacrifice so much for you, for this relationship, and you knew how much you meant to him. You pecked his cheek and squeezed his hands.
“I want to be with you too, forever and always.”

Petra and Erwin are siblings, but they keep in secret in the military. It would be fun that Erwin discovered his beloved sister and best friend had feeling for each other, or Levi misunderstood the closeness between Petra and Erwin.👀
god, this prompt had me cackling all day anon, thank you. this is pure crack.

Levi knows he’s not the most astute guy around. When it comes to numbers, diagrams, and thinking outside the box, that’s all Erwin and Hange. Battle formations? Go ask Mike. Brute strength and being quick on your feet—that’s Levi’s forte.
But he’ll be damned if you call him a fool.
Sure, sometimes he lacks tact, and his social skills have room for growth, but he thought things were going well between him and Petra. Little flirtations grew to kissing, to casual sex, and even though they hadn’t had the dreaded conversation of what are we? Levi thought things were going well. Or as normal people call it, going steady. Not official. Putting labels on things made matters messy, and Levi thought he and Petra were on the same page where for now, they were just having fun.
It wasn’t even just about the sex (though Levi wondered how he went so long without it), it was their nightly tea time, their casual stroll into town on weekends, and though he’d be loathed to admit it, the massages they gave each other after training was a plus as well. The word boyfriend seems foolish, after all, he was her captain, but maybe formalities were necessary.
Levi is not a clingy man. But when he sees Petra exiting Erwin’s office, a giggle on her lips, and then the commander picking her up and hugging her with a swing of his beefy arms, Levi nearly rips her from Erwin and kisses her against the wall just to show him she’s his.
But they aren’t official, and such actions might be interpreted as a jealous rage. Levi observes with a burning gaze while Petra tucks her blonde locks around her ears with that crinkle in her nose he loves so much. Erwin waves, the smile on his face uncharacteristic that it makes Levi want to vomit. He knows Petra and Erwin are close; she’s a member of Special Ops, which gives the squad more face time with the Commander, and she’s even accompanied him on debriefing meetings in Sina. As far as Levi could tell, Petra just liked to get out of the barracks once in a while, but maybe there was some ulterior motive for her travels.
Petra trails down the corridor until Erwin calls for her, telling her to wait. She turns, and Erwin holds a brass clip in his hand, a hair clip, and gives it to her with a sheepish rub of his neck.
Levi’s had it. Infidelity is one thing, but hypocrisy is enough to make his blood boil, and Levi emerges from the shadows, snarling, “Bastard.”
“Captain!”
“Levi!” Petra and Erwin say together, their blue eyes in shock. Levi fights down their look of being caught, their little clandestine meeting interrupted by him.
Erwin clears his throat, eyeing the papers in Levi’s fist. “Reports done?” he asks cheerfully.
Levi shoves the stack into Erwin’s chest, not meeting the taller man’s gaze as he stares at Petra. “You can forget tonight’s tea, Petra. I’ll see you around.”
Petra’s voice breaks. “W-wait, Levi!” and she shoots a nervous look to Erwin, biting her lip, and returns to Levi. “I like our tea time,” she says in a quiet voice. “And going into town with you. I can explain—“
The bitterness in Levi’s throat surprises him. “Look, Ral,” she flinches at the sound of her last name, “I don’t know what kind of game you’re playing or how you usually do this kind of thing, but I’m not interested if you’re going to sleep around with the Commander too—“
And that’s when Levi sees it. Erwin’s fist, making a crash collision with Levi’s face, a fist he hadn’t seen in five years since he and Erwin brawled in the Underground. Levi’s faster and he dodges, landing a kick into Erwin’s stomach. Petra yelps, covering her mouth while Erwin grunts, standing up, his cerulean gaze murderous.
Levi raises an unphased eyebrow. “What, she didn’t tell you?”
Erwin’s voice is dangerous, his figure towers over the two of them. He speaks to Petra first. “When I told you I supported you and Levi, I didn’t mean like that.”
Petra groans, her features more exasperated than worried. Levi’s a little offended that she’s so blase about being caught, but she stomps her foot in a childish protest. “Seriously, Erwin? I’m an adult! Adults. Have. Sex.”
Wondering if he got hit on the head since Levi wasn’t sure what universe Petra would ever speak to her commander so freely, he just gapes at her like a goldfish while Erwin pinches the bridge of his nose bridge.
Erwin sighs, a vein twitching in his forehead. “Stop it!”
“You started it!” Petra exclaims, gesturing between him and Levi. “You’re both acting like boars!”
“Can someone please tell me what the fuck is going on?” Levi asks, breaking up whatever odd feud is happening between Petra and Erwin. If he didn’t know any better, they were fighting like siblings. He remembers Isabel and her brattiness and how he and Farlan would have to—
The pieces come together.
Blonde hair.
Blue eyes.
Same annoyed expression.
“You’re fucking your brother?!” Levi shouts, and that’s when Erwin fumes, pushing Levi into his office while Petra shuts the door behind them.
“Keep your voice down!” Petra hisses and Levi is sure he’s about to vomit. “And of course we aren’t sleeping together, what the hell is wrong with you?!” Petra adds, smacking him upside the head, earning a smirk from Erwin.
“Please tell me what’s going on,” Levi groans, sitting down while Erwin pours him a glass of bourbon, trying to make sense of everything.
Erwin leans back in his chair and folds his hands on the back of his head. “You just said it, Levi. Petra and I are half-siblings. We have the same mother.”
Levi glares, as if not quite believing them. “You’re over ten years older than her.”
“Errr, it’s a bit complicated, sir,” Petra starts, playing with her hands. “Erwin was born out of wedlock, but since his family is wealthy, his father took him in. Part of the agreement the Smiths made was for my mom to go back to her village and forget about Erwin and his father. She married my dad and then had me. She didn’t tell me about Erwin until I signed up for the Scouts, I guess she thought it would be inevitable me and the Commander would cross paths, so she wanted to make sure I was aware. I told Erwin as soon as I enlisted, and the rest is history. We’re still getting to know each other,” Petra says with a smile. “Since we’ve only known each other for three years. But it seems like ODM skills run in the family, ha! We don’t tell anyone because we don’t want it to look like Erwin is showing me favoritism.”
Levi isn’t amused, but embarrassment slowly trickles in. Hopeful, he forces a smile. “So me and you….”
“Are fine,” Petra finishes sheepishly. “I really, uh, like you, sir. I hope to keep getting to know you better as well.” She’s blushing by now, and Erwin squares his shoulders, giving an uncomfortable cough.
“Now that that’s straightened out, I have something to tell the Captain.” Expression completely serious, Erwin glares at Levi, his eyebrows knitted together in consternation. “Don’t hurt her.”
For the second time in Levi’s life, he’s afraid of Erwin Smith. He gulps. “Yes, sir.”
Erwin grins. “Excellent. Petra, you’re going to help me with paperwork tonight.”
“But Erwin—!“ Petra yells, and Erwin laughs.
“I’m kidding.”
Relief hits both Levi and Petra, but before they can leave, Erwin opens his desk drawer and flicks a square packet in Levi’s direction. He catches it with one hand until he realizes what it is, and he drops it as if burned.
It’s a condom.
“What the fuck, Eyebrows?!”
“Use protection!” Erwin says, and Petra is dragging Levi out of the Commander’s office, face beet red.
“And let me know if I can grab you kids anything. Snacks, more condoms—“
“GOODBYE, ERWIN!” Petra shouts and runs back to the Special Ops barracks.

i love your writings! but maybe we could have some angst??? like um.. levi had an argument with his s/o before an expedition over something and they made up after they came back to the walls?
Sunsets and Mishaps
Pairing: Levi Ackerman x Reader
Genre: Angst, light fluff.
Warnings: Swearing, mentions of blood, gore, deaths.
Word count: 2,600 words.
Angel: Thank you so much for requesting and for the kind words, anon! I enjoyed writing this one. <3
The taste of the warm, strong tea eased the coldness caused by the chilly morning of an expedition. You have the habit of waking up early and being productive whenever there is one, just to calm yourself down and have a good start before heading outside the walls and encountering titans. Being out there could have two outcomes only, the first, you’d come back alive, and the second, you don’t. Every second spent before every venture is special to you, for no one will ever know what could happen next.
An assuring warmth from the rays that slipped through the window pain sent solace through the dubious mind that bothered your entire system. If the sunrise is this beautiful, then should you be looking forward for the day?
“You’re early, (Y/N)!” Moblit greeted, sitting next to you, and Hanji who has a bunch of different food in their hand sat across you. The latter, your best friend and squad leader had notable dark circles under their eyes, accompanied by the messy hair. Staying up late for experiments, again, you thought.
A piece of bread has been shoved in your hand as Sasha, one of your favorite cadets passed by your table and greeted you with a wink, you smiled at her.
“You are, too.” Hanji scoffed at your reply and glared at Moblit.
“He woke me up!”
“Of course, you told me to wake you up!”
“Not this early!”
“It’s your normal wake-up time! You’re just sleep-deprived, squad leader!”
Because of the noisy quarrel in front, you wanted to walk away and just sleep for a little bit more. These two never seem to hear each other even when they are millimeters close, they always shout!
The atmosphere of the mess hall transitioned from light to heavy when the intimidating aura of the elite squad entered the room. Their mere presence is enough to justify the reasons why they belong in the so called Special Operations Squad, and the number of titans they have obliterated is mind-blowing and you can’t help but to wonder, are they really human beings?
A familiar back profile made your heart flutter, his undercut makes you weak, and the way he held the tea cup as if he’s afraid to break it into pieces.
So he’s up early, too.
“Aren’t you going to kiss your lover?” Hanji asked, making you blush furiously. That question was so sudden!
Moblit immediately interfered, “Lovers don’t kiss all the time, Hanji-san!” He said, earning an approval from you.
Little by little, your whole squad appeared and occupied the empty spaces available. Your eyes occasionally dart onto Levi, who’s quietly listening to the conversation of his own squad and speaks every now and then. You wanted to go to him and spend the rest of your morning with him before you set off outside the walls, but you don’t want to interfere with his time for his squad. You are well-aware of your boundaries. How you should keep your feelings out of missions and focus on the objective. You and him had talked about this kind of matter ever since you’ve started dating.
And how you should keep your relationship as lowkey as possible.
Gentle yet meaningful habits pacified the yearning that burned for the both of you, the littlest things that you make, the slightest details that he considers, is what kept you sane. After all, it was you whom he would come home to.
But, you would not deny how much it irks you. . . to see him too close to another woman, yet not being able to do something to ease the slight pang of jealousy and pain.
“You okay?” Nifa asked, noticing the glint of uneasiness in your eyes, but you quickly shook the feelings away.
To make it believable, you forced a smile on your lips and answered your friend, “Of course!”
You hated how his certain squad mate looked at him the way you do, too. You are too aware of the woman’s feelings towards your lover, and you can’t help but to feel upset. How her small actions that meant something else find their way towards Levi, and how he does nothing about it, how he lets it happen, as if he’s giving her a chance.
Trust is one of the core foundations of your relationship, but you weren’t doubting your boyfriend, you are just. . . jealous. The two of you talked about how you should be open and tell each other everything you feel without any kind of hesitation. It was what made you strong as a couple- the thick line of communication never grew weary.
-----
Preparations weren’t that tedious an hour before the expedition because everything is already put together, thanks to Erwin. Everyone’s already in their uniforms, ODM gears have been checked, so no one is really having a hectic time, or so you thought.
The four corners of Levi’s office sealed every kind of noise from the outside, encaging you both with silence that is sometimes interrupted by the sound of papers shuffling. The captain sat on his chair, facing his desk, while he scanned a pile of paperworks to sign to. Thanks to Erwin.
You sat on the chair in front of his desk, sighing and arranging the scattered papers neatly.
“Levi. . .” You started, trying to gain his attention but to no avail, he did not even raise his head to look at you, but he did acknowledge you.
“Hm?”
Thoughts pervaded your mind, doubts about yourself and the matter that you would bring up to your lover. For once, you became hesitant of the things that you would tell him, but the way your jealousy permeated through the deepest part of your heart offered you no chance to analyze if this was the perfect timing, or not.
“Petra Ral. . .” His eyes focused on you since the mention of his certain squad mate, making you grow slightly more jealous of the girl, “Her actions. . . her actions towards you make me uncomfortable,” You looked at him and tried to read if any kind of emotion slipped through his steel grey eyes, but you found nothing but nonchalance.
“I’m jealous, Levi. I just want to tell you that.” You admitted, looking down and pressing your nails on your fingers. Agitation rushed through every vein of yours, you were nervous and you didn’t know why. Maybe for how her would react or what he would say.
He stopped what he’s doing and sat up straight, staring directly into your anxious eyes, “What do you want me to do?”
You shrugged, “I don’t know, tell her to stop? Tell her about us? About me?” You suggested, and your heart almost stopped when you caught the slightest glint of irritation in his eyes.
“I thought we’d keep it low-profile?” He asked, looking at the papers one more time before arranging it neatly and staring at you again, “We talked about this, (Y/N).” His austere voice sent shivers to every part of your body.
“This isn’t about us,” You muttered, looking down and avoiding his cold stares, “It’s about me, my feelings, Levi.”
A scoff flee from his mouth, making you feel like what you just said was so dumb that he could not stand it.
“You’re being unreasonable,” He spat your name like it was poison out of his lips, and you stared at him in shock. For a moment, words would not come out of your mouth. For a moment, you were frozen and you couldn’t believe what you just heard. For a moment, you were hurt.
You bit your lower lip, eyes furrowed as you stared back at him with the same intensity. “Oh, I’m sorry. I thought we were supposed to tell each other things.” Sarcasm coated your voice like sugar on spice.
His fingers flew on his face, massaging his forehead, as if it was too bothersome and stressful to talk with you, “Stop being childish, (Y/N).”
“Then stop being insensitive!” You spat back, raising your voice. Your heart never beat this hard because of a different reason. The way pain and disappointment embraced you right now felt so wrong.
A sigh left his lips, as he pointed towards the door of his office. And you felt yourself drop, never have you ever had an argument so bad that he would resort to kicking you out, or parting ways without talking about it.
“I can’t deal with you right now. . . just leave.”
Tears pooled in your eyes like a puddle being filled by the chilly raindrops of a hail. He made you feel so petty. Your feelings were never invalidated, and you never thought that it would be him to make you feel like this.
-----
You gripped the end of the reins tightly as you waited for the commander’s signal to advance. Hanji questioned your puffy eyes the moment they saw you earlier, and you lied by saying that you accidentally fell asleep while waiting.
What irked you the most is the noise caused by the Elite squad and how they tease their woman to the captain. You wanted to combust so bad because you had no choice but to endure hearing them. Childish? Fine.
As Erwin shouted, you wasted no time waiting and you immediately followed Moblit, with Nifa behind you and your other squad members at the back. You rode your horse like there was no tomorrow, occasionally being told to slow down to not ruin the formation.
Once the big-ass trees greeted your sight, you shifted to your ODM gear and slaughtered every titan that came across your vision. How you are extremely offensive right now surprised your squad mates, because you were never like this before. It was as if you were angry, and hell you are.
You let your body get taken away by the emotions that overwhelmed your system, that you didn’t notice how far you got and how long you were fighting. But you did not seem to care, you were going to fight until Erwin decides to retreat. The good thing is, you knew how to conserve gas, Levi taught you himself.
Like a thunderbolt, a titan rushed towards you, jumping through the branches of trees, and catching you off guard, making a sharp piece of the wood graze the side of your cheek slightly. You hissed at the sting yet resumed slaying the titan.
Time passed by and you lost count of how many titans you have killed, the second to the last blade in your hand is now starting to get weary, and you badly wanted to kill the one in front of you. You advanced in full speed and positioned your blade in a way that it’d execute the titan in one slash, but an arm stopped you before you could cut.
“Stop it.”
Your body shook, not because you were tired, nor exhaustion is starting to creep up your body. But it was because you heard your lover’s voice. And you did not know why, or for what reason could your body react like this.
“It’s time to head back.” He whispered on your ear. His voice was nothing compared to his cold ones earlier, because this one. . . it’s warmer than the sunset.
You bit your lip, letting your emotions take over you once again and yanking your arm away from him just to get back to the formation all by yourself. Your squad mates nodded at you the moment they recognized your form, and you were greeted by the sight of several bodies of people who suffered the fate of being taken too early.
The entire way back to the walls was coaxed with the heat provided with the orange sunset. Gone was the coldness that bothered everyone in the morning, it was engulfed by the warmth that reminded you of how every expedition ends like. The only warmth that reminded you of losing someone important.
-----
On an open field is where you sat, where they had experiments with the boy- the titan shifter. Of course, you knew, you were there. In front of you was the sunset that would soon say goodbye and leave its remnants of purple and deep pink. And the scent of your favorite soap sent comfort in knowing that you are already home, freshly showered, with a piece of snack in your hand.
You felt your lover’s presence slowly approaching you, his heat was greater than anything else. But visions of what happened earlier repeated in your mind, causing you to walk away from him, away from the feelings.
“(Y/N).”
One word from him, and you halted. And you hated it.
Not a minute had passed and you found Levi in front of you, his brown jacket now discarded, and what protected him from the cold solstice was a thin long-sleeves that you used to steal from him. His hand caressed the wound on your cheek, lightly letting his fingers kiss the fresh cut, but your eyes continued to avoid his.
Because of the schedule and trainings, you were deprived of the chance to spend time together. And you would not deny that you miss it. How you would sneak into his office late at night and come back to you and your roommates’ room before dawn. How you would steal food from the mess hall and share it with him. Or the late-night walks that you have done with him, pretending that no one would see. And you were sure that someone did.
You were never a secret, but you were extremely private.
“Look at me.” He said, his hands still cupping both of your cheeks. You pouted, not wanting to look at him because you knew how frail you get when it comes to him.
Your eyes met his, and it felt like you haven’t for a while.
“Look at me,” He repeated, and you stare directly into his, letting him read the emotions you have felt earlier. You looked at him as if you were complaining to him about himself and his actions earlier. “I’m sorry.”
Your lips trembled. Cheeks flushed and puffed, lips pouting, while warm tears filled your eyes once again. And Levi kissed your tears away even before they could paint your pretty face.
“Don’t cry,” He whispers, gone was the harsh tone that he used on you earlier, gone was the Levi that made you feel invalidated and puerile, “Fuck! Don’t cry. I’m sorry, baby.”
Sultry kisses on your forehead, and how his voice burned in apologies saved you from the cold breeze that wanted to touch your skin. He held you so close to him that you could feel how fast his heart beats for you, muttering how sorry he is, how he told not just Petra but his whole squad about you, how much of an asshole he was.
“D-don’t do that again. . .” You sobbed, face still buried in the warmth of his chest while your hands gripped his shirt.
“I promise.” He responds immediately, wiping the sadness and pain you have felt for hours and replacing it with the fire that dwells within him; the fire that you both made.
You were beneath the moon, and tonight, it was more beautiful. It was your witness, along with the stars that smoldered like a fiery heat. And within the coolness of  the dusk had you both realized, that the once searing sunset has kissed you both goodbye.

I've been having Sub!Levi brain rot and it lead to this.
Also if you put in a request for something I'm working on it, promise but I'm having to do it between exams, essays and work.
A Touch of Jealousy
It's not that you hate Petra or didn't trust your lover, it's that there was only so much you can handle of the constant touching and playful giggling. Yeah it was you that decided no one needed to know you two were a thing, but damn it he was yours.
Petra Ral couldn't go two fucking seconds without brushing her hand against Levi in some way. When she brought him his tea, which you were going to being out with your own, she touched his hands, going to her seat she touched his shoulder. Any chance she could get away with it she touched him. And the giggles were incessant. You loved your boyfriend, you've dated him for years, but his humor was shit and dry.
So finally you stood, getting rid of your leftovers, giving them to Sasha, you crossed the room to Levi and leaned over him, "Captain, I need to show you something important. When you get a moment, soon." You said and walked out towards your own office.
It didn't take long, your door opened and as soon as it shut you locked it.
"Y/N, what is it you wanted to show-" You shoved him against the door and kissed him hard.
"That you are mine." You smirked as you pinned his hands above his head and kissed him again as your free hand felt up his hardening cock, "So hard, is that all from me or from that little bitch?"
"Y-You..." He moaned as you kissed down his neck, "You know- know I love you." You hummed as you squeezed his cock gently, earning a whine as you nipped his neck.
"Yes, but you let that child flirt with what's mine." You poured playfully, "Consider this a touch of jealousy." You release his hands and kissed him again undoing his shirt as you kiss down his neck and chest, leaving bite marks and hickeys as you reached his pants.
"Please... please baby..." He pants softly as you massaged his hard member through his pants. You smiled at his begging as you remove them and his boxers.
He was hard, dripping and thick as you run your tongue over him, "I want you to moan my name, making it clear to all who you belong to." You demanded as you take his cock into your mouth, sucking hard on him as you swirl your tongue against his head before taking every inch you could down your throat.
"Fuck! y/n!" He moaned as you pinned his hands to the door. You kept going his moans pouring out with each suck and lick, "Damn it..." You moaned he finally came and you sucked every bit down, moaning as you released him with a pop and a lick to his head.
"Good boy. But we're far from done." You said as you began to strip, "I'm going to make sure you know without a doubt your mine."
"I love it when you get jealous." He smirked and kissed you hard.

Why do I think Levi is talking about Petra
Tumblr media
Recently, I’ve been binging into every bit of Rivetra content that I could find, and let me tell you, I am pretty much convinced Levi was talking about her at this moment. That being said, this doesn’t automatically make the ship canon, but it adds layers to their relationship, and Petra’s significance.
A lot of you have gathered evidence proving Petra’s feelings towards Levi. I think that at this point, it can be considered canon that she felt something for him. We have the official arts, some panels of Spoof of Titan, Petra’s song, and a smart pass confirming her crush (just to put some examples, but there are more). I’m not going to dwell into that any further, because I think it’s pretty confirmed already.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What I really want to deal with is a debated but less settled question, which is related to the letter that Petra wrote to her father. We know that after she died, Mr. Ral approached Levi, concerned about his daughter's "devotion", and brought up the subject that she was too early to be married. This made many people think that they were engaged, but what I think is that Petra's father realized his daughter’s feelings, and wanted to discuss it with the captain. What's more, I think Levi realized at that moment that Petra had feelings for him, hence his horrified expression. The attention paid to Petra's death was underpinned in three different scenes, so her impact on Levi shouldn't be discussed either.
Tumblr media
Now why do I think I'm right?  Isayama has participated in the development of Shingeki's games, supervising the extra scenes that complement the story. Although some of these may come to contradict the canon, they are used rather to develop or give more depth about their characters.
In this conversation between Petra and Levi, she brings up the subject of the letter that she has written to her father, although she feels suddenly embarrassed of its content. It seems that, despite speaking professionally, Petra had put something else in her words, something that her father noticed later. If, on the other hand, we consider this scene as a complement to the canon, Levi knew that something about her letter embarrassed her, and added to her father's comment, surely he tied the dots right away. So yes, we can pretty much say that her letter did imply some kind of feelings towards him, and I think Levi realized that after she died.
Tumblr media
Petra's memory does not disappear, and we continue to see her alongside Levi in his memoirs on more than one occasion. During his talk with Zeke, they meet in the forest of giant trees, the place where her comrades died, and where he remembers Petra again. During this chapter, Zeke also questions his popularity with women, to which he replies that "there was a time when he was/ He had been popular enough” (it varies with the translation). Which is weird, he could have told him to “shut up”, but he answered. Maybe because the guilt and her memories were really vivid at the moment?
Isayama is very careful with the details of his work, and all the elements that surround the scene make reference to Petra, who also appears centrally in the panel. This can't be a coincidence, plus, as I said, Levi surely knew about her feelings.
Tumblr media
But now is when the next scene comes in. In this conversation from another game, a scene occurs that curiously involves Levi, Zeke, and Petra. It can be understood as something comical, but the relationship of characters is not overlooked. During this scene, it is implied that Levi gets jealous because Petra has agreed to have a drink with Zeke, or at least that is what he thinks, going so far as to tell Petra that he may have found "a chink in humanity's strongest soldier’s armor ".
Tumblr media
This game came out during the third season, so the manga was covering this arc. I think that, considering the number of hidden references Isayama puts in other materials related to his work, this can be read as a brief reference that Petra was also present in Levi's mind during his canonical conversation with Zeke. After all, they both have to do with Zeke's interest in Levi's love life.
Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk!

omg 21!!! GOOD LUCK HAHAHA
Thank you for your ask!! ❤️❤️ Drabble challenge: Followers send a number to your ask and you write a drabble using that sentence/prompt in your piece.
“He’s a bad kisser.”
Do I wanna know? Modern AU. Movie stars.
Word count: 1457
"Captain, this may be my last night alive."
Levi shifted to her suddenly, and his expression softened at the sorrow painted on his subordinate`s face. He wished he could be a solace for her, same as with every mission, and he tried not to let guilt eat at him. The operation was crucial, as it always had been. More significant than even the undying trust Petra felt towards him.
"Shut up, brat."
He wished he could make promises of an unrestrained future, but Levi never believed himself capable of it. How could he pretend he was Humanity`s Strongest Soldier when so many of his comrades had to sacrifice their lives for the dream they all shared? When the tears started rolling on Petra`s cheeks, Levi took her face in his hands, determined to give her a reason to live. He could taste the saltiness of her tears as he pressed his lips to hers in a desperate attempt to show her he was always hers.
"Let`s take a break, people."
Hange`s obnoxious voice pulled Levi out of the fantasy, and he broke the kiss abruptly. His scene partner only smiled at him before making her way out of the set. Levi could feel his heart pulsating faster than before, and he decided not to trade precious hours of sleep for caffeine anymore. As enjoyable as the kiss had been, he refused to think it could have had any effect on him. Levi was not afraid to admit it: he was not fond of acting. It was nothing more than a job to him, one he found himself in since his early childhood. Being the wonder child of Hollywood set Levi up on a path of success through adulthood, but there was no movie or even scene that left a mark on him. He was about to refuse the odd script when he took a glimpse at the small photo of the ginger girl attached to the papers.
Petra Ral. A rising star of Hollywood and the first actor to piquet Levi`s interest in years. Unbeknownst to him, Petra used to refer to herself as his biggest fan in her teenage years. Petra would never admit being the admin of one of his online fan clubs or kissing her Levi poster goodnight, of course. She yelled at the phone when her agent announced Levi had accepted the role, that she would get to play in a movie with THE Levi Ackerman.
But disappointment hit her on their first day on set. While she knew all about her greatest infatuation`s cold exterior, Petra had hoped she could break through his walls. Not only was Levi cold towards her, but after a week of working together, she was sure Levi despised her. When Hange, one of Levi`s childhood friends, found her crying in her trailer after they shot Eren`s accidental transformation, Petra had to let it all out. She ranted to Hange for more than an hour, and the only reaction they had was to laugh at Petra`s distress. She thought Hange was trying to console her by deceiving her, that they had never seen Levi so open towards a fellow actor before.
Petra almost salivated at the sight of the extra coffee cup in her makeup artist`s hand. Nifa always knew how to make Petra`s day better.
"I love you."- Petra whispered to Nifa as she pulled the cup out of her hand greedily.
Petra was surprised her friend had managed to keep quiet for so long, as the smirk plastered on her face kept growing more and more by the second.
"So, how was it?"
Petra decided to take a long sip of her coffee, letting Nifa boil in her curiosity a bit more. The kiss had been breathtaking, exceeding even her incredibly high expectations. Petra found a smile growing on her lips at the thought of Levi`s on hers. At Nifa`s groan, Petra decided to end her suffering.
"Alright, alright. It was... better than I ever expected."
Nifa giggled, equally excited at Petra`s opportunity to lock lips with one of Hollywood`s hottest eligible bachelors. She hit Petra`s shoulder playfully- "You lucky dog!"
Petra couldn`t help but smile at her friend`s adorable pout- "I`m almost jealous."
"Please, I had to work with Oluo before this. I deserve it."
Petra couldn`t help but sigh at the memories locked away in her mind, the ones she brought up every time a scene required her disgust- "He`s a bad kisser."
"It`s the tongue, isn`t it?"
The two girls burst into laughter, missing the sound of her trailer door closing after the short man. Levi strolled away angrily, throwing the coffee cup he had brought for Petra in the nearest trash can. He couldn`t help but feel hurt at her words. His stomach churned at the idea that the only girl he had liked in years thought he was a horrible kisser. And the tongue? Levi couldn`t recall having used it. Or was it the lack of it that made the kiss disgusting?
"Hey, did someone finally piss in your coffee, Shorty?"
Levi was too caught up in his turmoil to offer Hange an answer, ignoring them and Erwin setting bets on who hated him enough to go to such length. He had trouble controlling the grimace on his face at the sight of Petra`s smiling figure making her way to them, and he felt guilty when he noticed her deflating on the spot. It was not the girl`s fault for not finding their kiss enjoyable, after all.
Hange embraced the ginger girl- "Petra, darling, the crying was on point! But we do need to redo the kiss scene." Petra studied Levi`s reaction, and his lack of any left her confused. She thought the kiss had been astounding.
Levi couldn`t believe his luck. Not only Petra thought he was a bad kisser, but he was also going to put her through it again. As Levi was standing in front of the pretty ginger, he made up his mind. He was determined to make it up to her.
Levi hungrily pressed his lips against hers as one of his arms embraced the girl, pulling her closer towards him. Petra was surprised at the sudden passion behind Levi`s kiss, but she reciprocated in a matter of seconds. She wrapped her arms around his neck, and when Levi nipped at her lips, she opened her mouth to let his tongue explore. Petra moaned, making Levi kiss her deeper.
Hange and Erwin kept looking between themselves and at the couple, perplexed by the sudden show of passion. Hange checked their files again- "Erwin, did we have a sex scene next?" Erwin shook his head no, both stunned and intrigued by the couple so lost in each other they forgot their surroundings.
Hange laughed awkwardly, unsure of how to proceed next- "Hey, guys, appreciable commitment! But I think we`re done for now."
Levi and Petra ignored their calls, only breaking their kiss after the third time both Hange and Erwin intervened. Levi left the set suddenly, without saying any word, and Petra exchanged confused looks with the people left.
When she spotted him walking around in circles outside of the building, Petra was unsure if she should approach him. She wasn`t even sure what to make of his reaction. Petra closed her eyes and gathered all the courage she had before she made her way to him.
"So... hey. That kiss was really..."
Levi cut her off- "Look, I`m truly sorry it was a bad experience for you. I tried to make it up to you."
Petra was left wordless. Bad experience? Their kiss had been so astounding she was sure if levitating was possible, she could have achieved it.
"Bad experience?"
Levi sat down on the bench with his head between his palms. He just wanted to get home and forget he had made a fool of himself. Twice.
"I heard you and Nifa talking earlier in your trailer. I was on my way to bring you coffee."
Petra couldn`t help the laughter erupting from her, and when she noticed Levi`s pained expression, she tried her best to gather her words. She took a deep breath- "Levi, it was out of context. We were talking about Oluo, my former set partner."
Levi`s mouth dropped open, surprised at his stupidity. He could feel his cheeks growing red from the embarrassment his impulsiveness caused him. His reaction didn`t go unnoticed by Petra, who decided to take matters into her hand.
Petra sat down next to him with a cheeky smile painted on her lips- "But how about we kiss again, and I can give you my opinion after that? You know what they say: third time`s a charm."

Hair ☕
Okay, so at the outset, I would like to emphasize that English is not my mother tongue and I am still learning. But writing is my hobby and I decided that I will try my skills here too, in English, I invite you to write requests, I hope you will like it!
3,5k words!
=================================
She was strong. She was a good soldier, commander, companion.
But she was also a beautiful woman with an amazing figure who was envied by many. Despite being quite short, because she was only five feet three, she had long slender legs. Overall, she was considered a beautiful woman. However, she had short hair.
Her hairstyle was practically identical to Levi's, but no one accused her of trying to look like him, as she was cutting her hair that way long before Ackerman joined the survey corps.
Oh, she and Levi. It was quite a sneaky topic, let alone the rumors around the body. They were often seen in each other's company, people interpreted it differently.
Some said it was just a friendship and a bond they established when Ackermann was part of her branch at the beginning of his career. And the others insinuated the supposed romance of the two. Well the versions were really different, but the truth was that y/n and good captain Levi were just two great friends. The woman was one of the few people who knew the man's past, and shared with him some facts about her. Because they both came from the Underground, however, and managed to get out of there on their own, and not with the help of scouts, as was the case with Levi.
At first they were not very sympathetic, quite the opposite. They had very similar characters, which theoretically should indicate that they will get along well, but that was only theoretically. In practice, they got on their nerves terribly.
But despite this aversion to a man, it was precisely this that helped him the most after the death of Farlan and Izabel. She provided him with comfort, help and warmth.  Something no one else could give him. It was thanks to her that he recovered so quickly, and he was in the place where he was at the moment.
At some point their relationship began to take a less formal path. More and more often they stayed at each other's offices, helped each other with Erwin's sentences, that is, documentation. They drank tea together, despite the fact that the brunette was a coffee advocate, she made an exception for Levi and almost completely gave it up. They had similar problems, especially those with sleep, may both of them suffer from insomnia, so when the entire corps was asleep, they sat in the two of them over documents, or simply spent their free time together.
Y/n did not even know the exact moment when she began to care in this other, more intimate way on the short captain. It came overnight. Of course, she was behaving the same as before, after all, she was not some horny teen, but a mature woman, but at the moment when she was going to the black-haired's office, or she just knew that he would see him, her body was flooded with heat. And maybe she wouldn't care so much if it wasn't for the fact that she had short hair.
She loved the short haircut, the long hair simply irritated her and disturbed the soldier's everyday life, but she was afraid that they might be an obstacle to any closer relationship with Ackerman.
***
She sat quietly in her office filling out paperwork for Erwin. She nervously tweaked her hair, which was longer than usual, because every time she tried to cut it, something was getting in the way and that was how it was already quite long.
The silence in the office was broken by the sudden opening of the door through which entered a black-haired man with pliers and a towel in his hand. He closed the door with a bang and set the items on the coffee table, then looked at the woman poring over reports and other documents.
"You have long hair." He said suddenly and walked closer to her chair, and when he was next to him, he entangled his hand in her dark strands. She breathed a breath and leaned against the back of the armchair, massaging her temples at the same time giving herself to the caress.
"I didn't have time to cut them off because of the last expedition, and with all the crap Erwin did, I have more work to do than ever. And Hanji keeps following me all the time and asks if I managed to convince Bushbread to do experiments on titans." She explained in frustration then exhaled her mouth with a whistle.
"Tch, fucking shitty glasses. Come on, rest a little, cut off your hair, and you will give me a haircut." He replied then pulled the woman's chair back and, grabbing her hand, led her to the bathroom. She was so tired of it all that she didn't care, and the presence of a cobalt-eyed woman was calming, so she didn't resist. "Get your hair wet." He gave the order, which she followed by putting her head in the shower and then she wet her hair with a stream of water. Ackermann handed her a towel, which she grabbed and dried her hair.
Let the two go back to the brunette's office, meanwhile she took off her jacket and threw it on the couch, which Ackermann only huffed, but said nothing. She sat down without a word on the low stool that the man had prepared at that time. He ran a hand through her hair a few times and began carefully trimming it.
"Can I ask you a question?" She finally gave up y/n, unable to withstand the silence in the room
"You ask them anyway, so why do you ask me for permission." The bored man replied by which l/n raised the corner of her mouth in a small smile.
"What do you think about women with short hair?" She asked, and black hair stopped breathing for a moment. What the hell was that about? Is this some kind of provocation?
"What am I supposed to think. They are no less feminine because they do not have long hair, their appearance does not define a person." He replied quite neutral, not realizing that he had just kindled a little ray of hope in his friend's heart. "And why do you ask?"
"Because I care about someone, and all in all, I wanted to know your opinion." Ah yes. His heart leapt into his throat, and his stomach seemed to have a 3D maneuvering device.  Someone did she like? But who the hell. After all, the only men with whom she spent time was himself, Erwin, sometimes he encountered Moblit in the company of Hanji and Mike. Who could steal her heart enough to make her care about her hairstyle? Probably Erwin. That fucking perfect general.
Maybe Levi didn't have complexes as such, but he was always a little jealous of Smith. He had a perfect body, he was tall, intelligent, had a high position in the military, and he came from a non-poor family. He was nothing compared to the blonde, he had nothing to offer. And he would like so much to have her with him.
"I'm done." He muttered softly brushing single hairs from the woman's clothes. She got up from the stool and unintentionally combed her dark hair. She looked beautiful, but he wouldn't tell her that.
"Your turn." She said and took the pliers from his hand. This time it was he who sat on the stool. He involuntarily smiled under his breath and closed his eyes at the woman's gentle touch. He was literally like a docile kitten. Why couldn't she be his?
***
He had been avoiding her like plague for about two weeks. He was irritated by the lack of a black-haired woman around him, but he knew that if it was like before, he would take the blow even worse.
A blow that would never come.
Y/n really didn't know what she could do wrong. After all, everything was fine, and then overnight Ackerman began to avoid her. Maybe he just got bored?
At first she explained his ignorance with overwork, in the end everyone in the command had their heads off. But when one day in a row she saw him sitting quietly with Petra, she knew it was not it. By the way, seeing a redhead in his company, something broke in her. What did this teenager have that she did not have? Did their relationship really mean nothing to him? So many questions, so few answers.
And this way almost every evening she landed in Erwin's office with Hanji with a bottle of whiskey or vodka, depending on what Smith had in the bar. Erwin and Hange really couldn't comprehend the change in brunet's behavior, and the sight of a really hurt l/n was so pathetic as to be nasty.
And so the next evening the three gathered in Smith's office where they once again debated about the captain's behavior.
"I do not feel it completely, so change the attitude towards people overnight.
I know that our curly pedantic has its own rules, but without exaggeration." Hanji announced, finishing the rest of the whiskey from her glass.
"Maybe something made him do it?" Smith replied, then grabbed his chin.
"Tch, and this thing is called Petra Ral, really fascinating." Black-haired girl summed up pouring herself and Zoe whiskey.
Their conversations were so loud that they interested Ackerman who was just about to make himself a cup of tea. But when he heard three familiar voices, he stood at the door of Smith's office, listening to what was being said.
"Don't take it for granted." Erwin said and frowned by the high concentration of alcohol in his glass.
"So what could be the reason Levi is ignoring me then? Just like logic Erwin, there are two options, or he has something to me and he distorts what is unfortunately but impossible because he always treated me only as a friend. Or he just shoots with Petra, and that's what I believe more. "Did they talk about him? What romance with Petra? And y/n cared for him the way he wanted it, but he's just an idiot and he broke it? He held his breath for a moment and tried to enter the room, but stopped himself and continued to stand still.
"Like it or not, I have to agree with the above.  Although I keep my fingers crossed for the first version." Squeaked at the end of the woman, which caused a loud sigh of disapproval from y/n.
"Shut up Hanji, I don't want to hope again for something that will never happen." She growled angry and hurt. She really cared about him. Not on any Erwin, Moblit or Mike, but on him. On a goddamn Underground thief with a hard character and misophobic aspirations. Damn it, don't let this be a dream.
He walked away from the door and headed for his office. He has even forgotten why he left it at all. He sat down at the desk and stared blankly at the sky until the very morning, trying to put everything in his head. He must try to fix what he broke.
***
Like a day like every other day. There was no expedition, no surprises, just an ordinary day in the recon. Well, maybe almost. Because Ackerman had been nervous and a little stressed since the morning. And it wasn't just because he wanted to talk to y/n seriously, but largely because he couldn't find her anywhere. As to spite that day, she sank underground, his only salvation could be Erwin. Which office was on his way to. The evening and dinner time was approaching, so he wanted to come to him before her, to look for the presence of a woman at the last meal, if necessary.
He entered the office without knocking, Smith merely looked up from the mountain of documents he had probably been studying since this morning, then turned him back to the sheets of paper.
"What you want Levi?" He asked breaking the silence prevailing in the room. He was pretty sure why this one had come to him, but preferred not to reveal all the cards at once.
"Where is y/n"?  Erwin sighed and then put down his quill and straightened up in his chair. He was afraid of Levi's reaction, but what could he do if the milk had already spilled?
"She went on a mission. She should be back in two or three days at the most." He replied with a straight face in the middle being a bit irritated by the reaction of the black-haired man.
"What mission? And why the hell didn't I know anything about this." Ackerman asked, very angry with the news once again.
"Maybe because you've been avoiding her for a long time? Maybe because it's a secret mission, I'm not obligated to tell you everything, Levi. I respect you and treat you as a friend, so I will give you some friendly advice. Think about what you really want and don't screw it up. I don't think I need to tell you what I'll do to you if you hurt her, not to mention Hanji." A faint smile affected his lips at the end of his speech.
"It's none of your business anymore. Thank you for the information." He replied coolly and, not worried about the threat of his friend, left his office.
So he was supposed to wait? He hated waiting. Uncertainty burst him from the inside, these few days will probably be a real nightmare for him.
***
It was well past nine o'clock, so most of the Corps' soldiers were resting in their quarters. Only a few officers were still in the courtyard. And Levi was watching them from his office.
Week. She has been gone since fucking week.
And he was consumed not only by uncertainty, but also by fear. Because they didn't know anything, not even Erwin, who entrusted the woman with this mission. Through it all, the captain was irritated and angry from day to night. Everyone wanted to be as far away from him as possible. Even Petra must have found out about his bad mood when some two days after y/n's departure, she felt bad for the fact that she smiled at him instead of focusing on cleaning. The last time he was afraid was when he first left for exeption.
Suddenly, a horse ran into the courtyard, on the back of which was a scout, but he was clearly unconscious, barely clinging to his mount. At first, Ackerman did not move from his place, but when he heard the screams about the return of squad leader l/n and summoning the medics, he sprinted out of the office.
When he was already leaving, he saw only a brunette, which two cadets were carrying on a stretcher to the infirmary. There was blood everywhere, and the worst case scenario flashed through his mind. She might have died.
He knew that they would not let him into the infirmary anyway, and the cadets didn't know anything, the only option was once again Erwin. What a mission it was to make her come back like this.
He hurried to Smith's office and threw open the door. He did not care about the surprised face of Hanji, who was sitting on the blonde's couch, but he walked over to the man and grabbed him tightly by the collar of a white shirt.
"What was that mission? And why did you send her over there alone, don't you care that she's just fighting for her life?" He was screaming at the top of his throat, he didn't care what everyone thought of him right now, he didn't care about the consequences, he only cared that he could lose her before he actually possessed her.
"In Stohess there is a man who leads the gang. It interfered with various shipments and the like. They are also active in the Underground. The task was to diversify into their ranks, apparently she did not quite succeed." He replied with stoic calm which made the black-haired man even more angry.
"Have you been really fucked up? Such a mission is not a job for one person, it is for the rest. Such matters should be handled by the MP's, not us!" He shouted and pushed the blonde back so that he almost fell from his chair.
"Only that they interfered mainly with transports to our corps. Mostly those not entirely legal. You know very well that a large amount of drugs and medical equipment we have is not entirely legal, but it is needed. I wanted to send the two of you on this mission, because both of you know the Underground, but she did not agree to you taking part in this mission. Probably because you were not getting along at that point." The man explained succinctly, and Ackerman said nothing. It was his fault, his goddamn fault. If only he wasn't such an asshole, nothing bad would have happened.
Until now, a silent Hanji came up to the shorter man and put her hand on his shoulder, the latter turned towards her, close to crying. Holy shit what she did with him.
"You'll finish later, for now, go to her." She ordered, and he nodded and without a word headed for the infirmary.
***
"When will she wake up?" He asked one of the medics, who was just finishing treating single wounds on the body of an unconscious woman.
"She should wake up in the morning. But probably not for long, he has to rest a lot now. She lost a lot of blood, it is surprising that she was even going here alive." She replied and got up from the small stool, putting the remnants of bandages and other medicaments on a silver tray. "But take it easy, she will get out of this, squad leader l/n is a damn tough woman, not just character.  She will lick it." She added after a moment with a slight smile on her face trying to cheer the man up.
"I know she's strong." He replied quietly, his head bowed and his hands folded.
"So just be patient. I think she survived because she had someone to return to." She laughed softly and just left the room, leaving the slightly confused captain with the unconscious woman.
He slowly walked over to her bed and sat down next to it on the wooden chair. He grabbed her chilled hand and pressed it to his lips, giving it a tender kiss. He had to wait.
And so the hours went by, and Levi spent them thinking about his feelings for the woman and simply gazing at her adoringly.
She was so beautiful, he loved everything about her. From a smile that could not be seen too often, ending with short hair. He was lazily combing them almost all the time, not being surprised how pleasant they are.  He did not even notice that it was starting to dawn, and the soldiers of the corps were slowly waking up to start another day of service. He also did not notice that Erwin accompanied by Hanji arrived in the room in the meantime, but when they saw the man sitting next to the y/n, they only smiled at each other and left, leaving them alone, of course they gave each other high five for fruitful cooperation.
"Wake up now, because these feelings will blow me up soon." The words were coming out of his mouth involuntarily. His eyes were closed, he tried to focus, to be patient. "I overheard your, Hanji and Erwin conversation about me. I really was an idiot. I shouldn't be away from you, that's why you're here at all. If I hadn't, you wouldn't be lying here, I wouldn't have allowed it. I have plans to blame Erwin for letting you go on this mission alone. But you don't know how much I was bursting from the inside by the thought that you care about someone, and that someone is not me. I was so fucking jealous. Ugh, feelings are a pain in the ass. You don't even know what you're doing with me. I just love you, and I love everything about you." There was a silence in the room, and the man breathed a sigh of relief, finally blurted out into the crowd of thoughts.
"Even my short hair?" Silence, a hoarse voice broke the silence in the room. The man immediately opened his eyes and straightened in his chair, a smile spread across his face at the sight of the woman's open eyes.
"Even short hair." He replied and once again ran his hand through it, and placed the other on her cheek.
"I heard everything, you idiot. Love you too." She said and smiled broadly as he reciprocated.
"I love you too." He replied and pressed their lips together in a kiss.

Two beautiful people sent me an ask about my rivetra actors au, and boyyyy let me tell you, it was so fun making them again 😍 thank you to the pretty souls who asked this! 💘
The first actors au were from season 1 and 2, this one will focus on the filming of season 3 until the last season :) here you go!
more rivetra actors!au headcanon (some are nsfw-ish)
- Let me get straight to the point: lots of sex. Car sex. On-set sex. Dressing room sex. Name it.
- Both of them are aware that it was unprofessional, but there was a time when they did not see each other for more than a month because of their (especially Levi’s) busy and conflicting schedule, so when Petra surprised him on set, the frustration and longing just piled up and they had sex.
- Then it became a habit.
- And this habit, of course, didn’t go unnoticed by the other casts and even crews of the show. Armin heard them once, and the poor boy made a mental note to never ever come close to Levi’s room again.
- The older casts are fine with it since, you know, normal adult stuff. But for the love of the three Walls, can you lovebirds tone the moaning down? People are trying to get some sleep wtf.
- Levi’s make-up artist had to deal with the pain of covering his hickeys (courtesy of Ms. Petra Ral) every shoot. The ones on his neck, especially those near his adam’s apple were the most visible. And since Captain Levi rarely wore a cravat in season three, part one, it made the work harder for the make-up artist.
- As compensation, Petra always bought a special souvenir for Levi’s make-up artist whenever she flies overseas for her theater shows.
- For the premiere of season 3, Levi took Petra as his date on the red carpet. It was the first event they attended publicly as a couple.
- It was a big milestone for their relationship because they are both public figures. And we all know what happens when celebrities publicize their relationships, it is prone to issues and controversies.
- And you can very well guess that Levi Ackerman showing off his beautiful girlfriend to the press was big news. As big as the AoT premiere even.
- During the air of season three, Levi became more famous and he attracted many overseas fans as well as international actresses because of his brilliant scenes with Kenny.
- Although Petra is not the jealous type, she admitted that somehow it affected her when other international actresses expressed their admiration towards Levi. Some even said that Levi is their type and they are looking forward to working with him in the future.
- When Levi sensed this, he immediately headed to his IG and posted a picture of Petra with a very cheesy caption lmao. Forgive him, he's new to this kind of relationship.
- Did I mention he also posted a picture of them kissing in front of the Eiffel tower?
- Only a few know this, but the real Levi is one clingy boyfriend.
- He is very touchy when it comes to Petra. He just really loves holding her. Sometimes he just randomly hugs her, caresses her, nuzzles her. He just loves having skin-to-skin contact with her.
- His love language is actions and gestures.
- His favorite gesture to do to Petra is a back hug with his arms under her boobs. It was a soft gesture and it wasn't sexual in any way...until it did.
- More than half of their sex started with Levi touching Petra’s underboobs tbh.
- Sometimes Levi thinks that he's neglecting Petra and more than once he considered quitting the show business for her. But then he’ll see her smiling at him, and she tells him that she's very proud of what he’s doing and that she's happy that she gets to support him with doing the things he is really passionate about and just… all he could think of that time is that he wants to marry this amazing woman.
- He is also supportive of Petra’s theater actress career, of course. And he hates the fact that he needs to hide whenever he watches one of her shows since people eventually gather around him asking for an autograph and he feels that it’s rude for Petra. This is her moment and he doesn’t want to ruin it for her.
- Hence, his all-black and mysterious get-up whenever he watches her show.
- AoT season three was a huge success and plans for season four are already on the move. Casts were given a long break before the shooting began again and both Petra and Levi took this as a chance to bond together.
-Petra's favorite thing to do with Levi is playing with animals. She has a soft spot for animals, and she wanted for them to adopt a pet but she knew that the poor animal will only be given less attention because both of them are always busy.
-When Petra's theater world tour ended, she and Levi started living together. They didn't have the chance to do it before since they were both busy.
-Them living together is probably the height of their relationship. They fought, they had sex, they laughed, they played, they bathe together. They did everything together and it was a beautiful experience.
- For their third anniversary, Levi booked a vacation on a private island for a week. It was also their last bonding because Levi is going to start filming again for season four in less than a month.
- They did not communicate with anyone during that one week. It was just them, and they made the most of it.
- Mornings were spent for morning sex and breakfast in bed. Afternoons were for swimming, sleeping, cuddling, hugging, kissing, and every activity they could think of doing. They explored the island, they petted stray animals, they dived into the ocean, they build sandcastles, they ate different dishes, they had sex in caves and while swimming on the beach, they climbed trees, they bought souvenirs, and most importantly, they took many pictures together.
- Evenings were the most romantic of all. They had sex in the darkness of their own room while they hear the ocean waves crashed to the shore outside and as the sea breeze cooled their sweat-slicked skin. They took the time to explore each other’s body like it’s their last (because it will be in a matter of days).
- On their last night, Pet cried while they’re having sex. Levi’s face was buried on the crook of her neck and she was moaning one moment, and then the next she’s sobbing like a poor little baby.
- She said that she’d gotten used to life with Levi always by her side and she didn’t want it to ever change. Levi comforted her. He petted her hair, and he said that it’s going to be okay. He kissed her head, then her hair, her face, and her body. Then they had the most emotional and meaningful sex of their entire life.
- Levi started shooting again for season four. Petra, like the past seasons, visits him as much as she can. It was hard adjusting to this type of life again, but she’s a strong woman. And besides, she’s going to start rehearsing for another theater show again.
- They need to undergo medical check-ups before the casting and she found out then that she is pregnant with Levi’s baby.
- It freaked her out. She and Levi never talked about babies before since they’re busy with their careers, and their relationship has always been just the two of them.
- Levi was out of town for the shoot, and she didn’t want to tell him the good news on the phone so she patiently waited until he got home.
- He was greeted with a fancy dinner, and a “Welcome home, Daddy” by Petra. Levi thought that it was her being cheeky and naughty at first, but when dinner ended and she ran for her life to the sink, that’s when he started getting worried. And when Petra showed him the positive result in her medical check-up, well, let’s just say that on that day, Levi Ackerman received a good reminder of what he did to her on their vacation months ago.
- But seriously, he was seconds away from calling his manager and dropping his AoT contract just so he can take care of Petra and their baby. Petra said that it was fine, and she doesn’t want him to quit.
- Levi apologized to Petra many times because he wasn’t there when she discovered it, but she assured him that it was alright and it wasn’t his fault. God, he’s with the perfect woman.
- Since Levi is a big shot in the industry, he demanded control over his schedules. Honestly, he wanted to be at her side 24/7. He wanted to see her belly swell as months went by. He wanted to be the one to satisfy her midnight pregnancy cravings. He wanted to kiss her face and her belly first thing in the morning.
- He convinced Petra to move temporarily to the Ackerman family house where Levi’s parents are staying. Kenny and Mikasa also lived in the same affluent neighborhood. He had doctors, and helpers, and bodyguards hired for Petra. But she said that she’s too uncomfortable with many people around her.
- Petra and Levi’s mom build a bond of their own. She’d gotten to know more of Levi through his mother’s perspective. The older woman showed her Levi’s teenage room, his past awards, his photos, his audition tapes that weren’t out for the public, and she fell in love with him more.
- They had a super private wedding with their relatives and closest friends. Petra was six months pregnant by that time and season four is planned to air three months from now.
- So, you know about that one holy Rivetra panel where Petra is looking back to Levi? The reason why the scene was not in the actual show was that she is pregnant. That’s why the directors are forced to use old scenes from season one instead.
- Despite all the efforts of being private, paparazzi and the media still caught wind of the secret wedding, and rumors about Petra being pregnant started circulating over the internet. Levi shut down these rumors every time someone attempted to question him in his interviews.
- When the shooting ended, Petra was already eight months into pregnancy. As per tradition, the cast and staff held an after-party, but Petra was surprised when it became a baby shower for her instead.
- The baby was supposedly due in the third week of December, but Petra’s water broke around the first week instead and she started her labor. She ended up having the same birthday as their healthy baby boy.
- The baby was named River Ackerman. He was named after Levi’s role where he won the Best Actor Award when he was seventeen. It was also a tribute to Levi’s role in AoT since his name was sometimes spelled as ‘Rivaille’ on many occasions.

Petra : Oh, come on, Levi is not like that. Zeke is just a a friend, totally platonic. He doesn't get jealous at all.

I just love to think Petra is jealous of Hange, don’t you? Good day
Petra is such a sweet girl! I wouldn't say she is jealous of Hange, - not in canon anyway - because she's a soldier before all and her heart belongs to humanity. But yes - in my mind -, maybe has a crush on Levi. Anyway, let me revisit chapter 20:
Petra understands for the first time her captain's interest in the eccentric scientist.
***
He ducked his head to examine Eld. "I'm sure you're all aware but you may not ask him anything past what's in the report." He paused. Petra looked intently at her superior as he eyed each of them as a polite warning. The less Eren knew, the better.
"Although I doubt she'll keep her mouth shut."
The words stung an instant when Petra understood whom he was talking about. Of course, he'd be thinking of her. Even when there was no connection to the current matter. Eld and Oluo remained silent as Eren unavoidably asked who.
"She?"
As if Levi had summoned her there, a loud banging resonated in the dining wall which made Petra jump out of surprise, fear... and maybe disappointment. Hange San was a loud personage, some may say eccentric, others said her to be a mad scientist. Those were true enough. But what had caught Petra's attention was the unusual bond Hange San shared with her captain.
Petra had entered the Survey corps not long after him. She had observed nothing alike a relationship as far as he was involved. That's why she had allowed herself to have a crush on him. He was brilliant after all. Humanity's strongest. Cold and snappy all right, but deeply concerned for the well-being of others. The more years passed, the more she believed him interesting. And the more Hange San did too.
"Hi there, squad Levi!" the door was violently banged open. "Is the castle comfortable?" Petra saw Squad leader Hange entering the room with a vivid cheerful expression on.
"Her." Levi said nonchalantly, he seemed utterly annoyed by her presence. Though, Petra had seen enough of their relation to knowing it was just his usual face when she was around. The rest of the table had gone silent after her arrival and Petra couldn't make out the sense of the Squad leader's chatting. Not until she merely screamed her captain's name
"Levi! What's on Eren's agenda for tomorrow??"
"..." he looked up at her. "cleaning the yard."
"GREAT! Then it's settled!!"
Petra almost choked on her black tea. Had he not just - ? That was the thing Petra did not understand. Captain Levi was someone who followed the rules, who wanted things to be done correctly and efficiently. He liked when things were clean and where they belonged. She'd seen how easier it was for him to fight when the soldiers around him followed the orders. She'd seen how his routine was designed, meticulously tallied. This was everything she had sought to be when he chose her for his Squad. And this was everything Hange San was not. She did not understand.
Suddenly everyone was standing up. Why? She forced her mind back to the situation. "Well if you want to know that badly about titans..." the woman started. Ah, so they were there again, leaving because Squad Leader Hange had found a new target to bore. Petra had not heard her captain say anything, but he was leaving already.
And then she saw it...
Petra Ral had always suggested. She had always tried pretending. But she couldn't deny it anymore, could she?
Before Levi left the room, Petra saw him look over his shoulder. To her? No. To Hange San. His face was gentle, held something Petra didn't know. He nodded slightly, it almost seemed as if she had dreamt it. Then she turned to look at the pair still sitting at the table. Hange San was looking back, a faint blush on her face. And in a flash, it was gone, and they weren't looking at each other anymore. As quickly as it had come.
Petra knew then.

Summary: Requested by @capitainelevi! Petra has a stuffed moneky named Zeke and Levi hates it.
Tumblr media
“I don’t see what the big deal is. Zeke’s been on my dresser for years, he’s become my little buddy at this point!”
Levi glowered as he crossed his arms, his torso bare and wearing only boxers. Things were just getting hot and heavy with Petra, his girlfriend of a year, and while they were no strangers to sex, they were visiting her parents for the week and were sleeping in her childhood bedroom.
Hoping to get a night to themselves after family festivities, Levi noticed a rather grotesque ape sitting on the top of Petra’s bookshelf. Long arms, pointed ears, and teeth lined up like knives, he had to pull away from their make-out session to ask what the fuck that was. It didn’t fit in with Petra’s flowery decor and her cute row of plushes from her youth. Maybe it was a gag gift from a friend? Whatever it was, it was killing the mood and Levi swore its beady black eyes were staring at him.
“Oh, that’s Zeke! Named after my ex.”
Levi felt a vein pop and his palms clenched into fists. Teeth bared, he had to keep himself from snarling, “Why do you still have it?”
She giggled, unbeknownst to Levi’s jealous side since it hadn’t come up before. “It’s just a cute toy. He got it for me when we went to the zoo and he did the funniest impression of a monkey and we had to commemorate it.” She went on to explain it was from years ago and ‘Zeke’ had been living on her childhood dresser since then.
“He’s a bit dusty, I should clean him. Thanks for reminding me!” Cheery, despite her pants being off and only wearing a loose pajama top, Petra began to clamor off the bed to retrieve the offending toy.
Levi grabbed her wrist, trying to regain his self-control but not the type to mince words, “Do you keep all your stuff from your exes? Jewelry, gifts, clothes?”
“Well, yeah. Don’t you? Seems like a waste to throw it out. My Pandora bracelet is from an ex three years ago—“
“What?” Levi snapped, thinking back to the dumb-ass charm he got her for her birthday. He was funding another man’s gift?! In all fairness, Levi was rarely on the receiving end of material things; he preferred outings and gestures in his previous relationships, but Petra was breaking that cycle by drowning him with useless knick-knacks or household items he actually found useful like new cleaning tools.
Petra rolled her eyes, “Zeke is from eons ago,” and she tapped her chin thoughtfully. “Like senior year of high school? It’s been so long. You don’t have anything to worry about.”
“How long did you guys date for?”
“Levi,” Petra whined. She pouted in indignation, wanting to resume their previous amorous encounter. But by her boyfriend’s scowl she knew there wouldn’t be a resolution until all his questions were answered. “2 years, max. We broke up amicably since we were going to separate colleges.”
“Do you still talk to him?”
“Of course not, it’s been ages!”
Levi huffed and dropped his shoulders. His muscles relaxed as he attempted a smile. “Okay, good. But does it have to stare at us while we have sex?”
Moving to straddle him, Petra made sure to turn his attention away from the monkey and back onto her. She rolled her hips and tilted his head towards her while she stripped the rest of her clothing.
“Forget about it, okay? I think we have a few minutes until the Ral movie night.”
Keeping his eyes at the ceiling, Levi sighed as he focused his attention on his beautiful girlfriend and not on the monkey leering over them.
With only a few more items left to pack, Levi breathed a sigh of relief as he checked the final items off his list. A loner by nature, being surrounded by family was new to him, and he had reached his breaking point at the end of the week. Petra’s parents were kind, much like her, but he was excited to return to his minimalist apartment and one on one time with Petra.
“LEVI!”
He froze. He knew that voice. The you’re-in-trouble-and-sleeping-on-the couch-and-no-sex-tonight, voice. Petra’s shrill cry rose from her bedroom and she raced down the steps, her feet thundering with each creak of the wood. Levi braced himself for his girlfriend’s fury and kept his cool countenance of nonchalance while he met her burning gaze.
She clutched Zeke in her right hand and held the stuffed animal up by its arm. Several tissues and a pad were stuck to its fur and Levi suppressed a grin while Petra yelled, “You did this!”
He folded his arms. “You can’t prove anything.”
“He was in the bathroom garbage bin!” she shouted, exasperated. She shook the monkey and Levi cringed at the falling of questionable debris from its fur.
“Maybe he felt more at home there.”
“Oh my god,” Petra exclaimed. “What is wrong with you?!” She paused and gave a sad look to Zeke. “I liked him, he was cute!”
“Not so cute with shit all over it,” Levi mumbled under his breath, but Petra’s laser focus caught his words.
“You’re driving the entire way home,” she finalized, tossing Zeke into the trash. “And I get to pick the playlist.”
Levi groaned. “Please, no more Taylor.”
With another glare, Petra giggled. “Not a chance.”
