SPOILERS FOR FINAL FANTASY 16!!!

WARNING: THIS IS A NEGATIVE REVIEW/RAMBLE. I DO NOT WANT TO MAKE YOU FEEL BAD IF YOU LOVED THIS GAME, I JUST NEED TO GET ALL OF THE BAD FEELINGS OFF MY CHEST!!

how much of the gameplay (quests, upgrading weapons, pacing, structure, choices regarding 16s party system etc) did I enjoy?

I enjoyed it about 5% of the time. Harsh I know. Up grading weapons was cool. Party members being unplayable and not even being able to issue commands made me feel super detached from them. Especially since characters like Jill, who is often a party member, will go for literal hours on end without making a single quip during battle. Looking at you first 25 hours. Pacing? Yikes, this should have been a 20 hour main story line game, not 40. That, or they needed to flesh out all of their characters better and have a more coherent narrative to support the confusing plot.

How much of the combat system did I enjoy?

About 50%. Fun combat for a while, but with little to no variation in enemies, between eikon's power's, plus never needing to factor is the elements like you do in other ffs (fire enemy: use ice or large enemy find weak spot/take out its legs first idk) topped with the philosophy of the game being quantity of enemies over anything else left little to no strategy and a lot of R1 and □.

Visuals, animation, art direction, sound design, music?

WHY TF DOES THE FANFARE ALMOST NEVER PLAY. AT LEAST PUT SOME OTHER KIND OF MUSIC OR SOUND SO I DONT HAVE TO LISTEN TO SILENCE AS MY PRISE FOR BUTTON MASHING BRO?? also, "a return to ffs roots"? Yeah no. Character designs for the most part are,,, ok?? A bit "done before" ig? Sort of, stock-image historal Britain? Kinda LoTR but less fun??? (Also, I can't be the only one who saw Jill's hair and went: oh hey it's tifa/garnet hair) I just think it would have been great to get that Yoshitaka Amano's style- long funky colored hair, organic looking armor, everyone covered in makeup and jewelry.

Now. As someone who wants to go to uni for fashion and or character design on top of being a huge history buff and leftist: WHY IS IT SO WHITE? AND CIS MALE? AND HETERO? Absolute step back from previous games. All in the name of "accurate reflection of medieval europe"?? Don't bs me. If that was the truth, then whats with the mash-up of several hundred years of fashion? If that was the truth, then why is everyone white?

I love how casually gay Dion is. I'm queer myself. And, I know I skipped alot of cutscenes (I found the dialogue to be rambling, the shots to be uninteresting, and the facial animation lackluster) but why did Dion and Terence have to break up? And then Terence dies?? But Joshua and Dion don't get together even though they had chemistry? Why is Clive banging his STEP SISTER when he had amazing chemistry with Cid??? This leads me into story:

Plot and exicution. Etc. Story and characters- how do they measure up in comparison to other ff parties and protags you've played?

Yall... this ain't it either 😭 clive was SO much more interesting when he thought he'd killed Joshua. Jill had so much potential that ends up wasted. Dear God. In most side quests, she doesn't even have dialogue nor is in frame. Dion and Cid were easily the most immediately captivating from beginning to end. Same goes to Joshy boy. Also uh, why is Torgal magic in the last half of the game? I know he is supposed to be like a magic-shiva-ice dog, but why? It didn't make his attacks more powerful or do anything really....

Benedicta was such an interesting villan and then she was killed (i was hoping for 'villan is partially redeemed and joined the party to fight the real big bad of the game'),

Clive was SUPER compelling at the start with him not knowing he was the one who "killed" Joshua, (i actually cried at the end of the demo) and then he arcs out of it and, dont get me wrong, he still has drive, but him being the "next cid" and having a WAY more advanced hideout than og Cid did when og Cid had been doing this for way longer then Clive has... idk.... SPEAKING OF CID- I can't believe they killed off the one main character who had just as compelling a story as clive plus banter.

Lil reminder: JILL IS CLIVES STEP SISTER?? LIKE EW. The story would still work if it was about found family and friendship??????? the evil mom idea was so interesting and it just kinda... And then clive and josh not even being afraid of ultima? Bro i was just pissed off at those last three boss battles. Combat system + boss battles are repetitive once the novelty wears off. Other party members being unplayable makes me feel less attached to them, especially if they're not constantly bantering during battle like in 15 or 7r. This means that little to no info is discolsed through battles wgen you have control or running in the field. Exposition is only done in cutscenes and heavily relies on you using the active time lore. Im playing an action game. Why am i reading?

Overall, it kinda feels like 2 or 3 games smashed into one given all the time skips. Tbh I would have preferred two parts if it meant I got to become more attached to everyone/thing. Again, WHY TF IS IT SO WHITE? WHY IS IT SO MALE? I am SUPER happy we got queer representation, and I've got no issue with the m rating. But the whiteness? Plus the constant overshadowing of female characters? WHAT WAS THE POINT OF THE "NOT CLIVE" BITING "NOT BENEDIKTA" BUT THEYRE NAKED??Also, Jill and clives relationship was terribly unequal with all the postering of healthy communication- like the game was trying to convince me that this was fine, really.

I can not reiterate enough how much of a step back 16 feels in both the context of ff and the modern gaming landscape. I can't be the only one who finds a story about oppression to be spearheaded by a masculine, cishet, white man ( whos arc is terribly flat, ) off putting.

So:

Is it an ff game? Ehhhh uh ummm? Ff is always trying new shit- but I miss the feeling of "omg i love every character, this party is so fun/ makes me feel so many emotions" and I'm not getting that with 16. When 16's cast, game play, story concept, pacing, and execution is up against every other ff I've played thus far (ff7, ff7r, ff10, ff15, ff6, ff9, ff7cc), 16 isn't exactly ranking high. Hell- it isnt even ranking high against all the other non ff games I've played.

Tl;Dr-

a would be interesting story that is delivered clunky, messy, too quickly, and then too slowly. Combat is repetitive and has me feeling disconnected from my party members. Game is PAINFULLY white and male. YAY GAY PPL!!!! Kind wish the art style incorporated more unique and unconventional fantasy elements. Plot (the destroying of the crystals and then the whole defy fate thing) low-key feels like an "edgey slap" to og crystal based ff stories??? For me, It was a bad, boring game that I spent way to much money on:(

I’ve been knee deep in dsmp lore streams and I just want to ramble about it

Dream smp lore is so good, it’s so good!!! Not only is the story itself just fascinating, but how it’s presented so uniquely through the medium of minecraft of all things is just so cool. One of my favorite parts of the lore is seeing how everyone on the smp has their own “style” they present it in, and watching them find the way they find the most enjoyment in is so cool. Literally no two streamer’s lore stream quite like each others and it’s just incredible! It just speaks to the flexibility of roleplay as an artistic medium and really shows everyone’s individual personalities.

Wilbur was dramatic as hell and wrote eloquent speeches. He started a drug operation under the guise as a country, and it lead to a revolution in which he was able to explore the spiral of a man who loses control of everything he had built. And after his arc and he wanted a break from the server? He created ghostbur, an amnesic comic relief with just enough touch of tragedy that he is still able to make heartbreaking monologues when he wants to.

Tommy is able to run around with his friends and cause as much chaos to his heart’s extent, but there is so much more than meets the eye. He is incredibly social and isn’t afraid to start conflict with a lot of people, bringing them into the roleplay. He doesn’t back down from storytelling either. His character goes through terrible situations and he fully explores the trauma that comes from those experiences. His character goes against the “stereotypical” trauma I see alot in media; instead of being shy or scared he’s reactionary, he’s angry, he’s violent, he’s depressed. I’m actually really impressed with the heavy subject matter this 17 year old teen has managed to portray (I’ve connected with it quite personally at certain points), while still being able to keep the light hearted fun that’s so intrinsic to his personality.

Tubbo isn’t really interested in serious lore as much. Even in dire moments he tells jokes and just has fun. So, in his recent lore, he just streams as normal while putting mysterious writing on screen that he doesn’t acknowledge or have to explain, which I think is just a genius work around for him to participate in lore. He still has his dedicated lore streams sometimes, and when he is in the acting zone he has some of the most powerful moments out of everyone on the server.

Ranboo, while having stake in the greater smp lore, is much more character focused. He presents his lore through long monologues and fucking heart-wrenching voice acting. He loves working in themes of horror and causing a specific feeling in the viewer. So he chooses specific music as a themes for events/characters and creates visual queues in his overlays to draw out that desired reaction. He also values improve a LOT, if something unexpected comes up he just runs with it and he has made huge changes to his lore as early as 30 min before a stream.

Technoblade, while arguably one of the most powerful people on the server, prefers a more light-hearted yet dramatic approach to lore. When Dream was at his house looking for Tommy, Techno had no problem joking around and making fun of him for being homeless. He tore down an entire nation on the server and had so much fun doing it! He’s more of an antagonist than a true villain in my opinion. And lets not forget how dedicated he is to the game, he’s cracked at the craft. He spends hours grinding and creating farms on the smp, for amazing pay offs (his several vault reveals, the withers, etc), most of which weren’t even on stream!

Karl Jacobs is extremely social, so he created Tales from the smp as a way to involve TONS of people in lore while exploring the past and future of the server (it was also a way for viewers who weren’t that well versed in dsmp lore to join and not have to worry about it!). And through this premise, he took the opportunity to develop his own character on the smp; making an incredibly tragic story of a time traveler trying to save his home while slowly loosing his memories. Not to mention the beautifully shot cutscenes of the Inbetween and the Other Side. He includes so many people behind the scenes as well, collabing with other members on lore, hiring building teams and people to make intros and credit scenes, and promoting fanart and fansongs from the community!

Quackity explores his lore through heavily scripted events and amazingly shot cut scenes. While the way he expresses his lore comes at the cost of improv, the payoff of the visuals and story is well worth it! The shots he makes of the smp is downright gorgeous, no to mention he’s the first person to include irl footage in his lore (not counting facecams)! He’s not afraid of thoroughly examining his own character, being one of the only people I can think of that shows us “past events” leading up to something that has already happened.

Badboyhalo, Antfrost, Ponk, Skeppy, Captain Puffy, Punz, Awesamdude, Hannahxxrose all work together on shared lore and the payoff is amazing! By introducing the Egg, a constant antagonistic force that constantly pulls on character’s relationships with each other, everyone is able to stream together to battle for or against the egg! There’s also plenty of room for people to do individual lore that's more intimate to their respective character. They spend hours changing vines, putting up posters, slowly shaping the smp in a way that makes it exciting to watch streams to see just what has changed everyday. Because there’s so many people necessary to tell the egg’s story, it does comes at the cost of time (the egg has been around FOREVER). However, they all work together super hard and I just admire their commitment to the story they’re trying to tell!

And Sam! He has several different “Modes” his character is in (and an entirely separate character, Sam Nook) that he gets to explore lore with. He’s a terrifying warden, he’s a money motivated businessman, he’s a conflicted lover, he’s a traumatized victim of the egg, and just so much more. Through having so many different “roles” in the rp he gets to explore relationships and plotlines with a whole array of people. Not to mention he’s absolutely cracked at redstone and has some of the most impressive builds on the server.

And Puffy! So much of her lore is calling into question the morality of the server and really makes you step back and think critically about the characters. Her character also has, in my opinion, one of the most interesting relationships with Dream, the main antagonist of the entire server, which is just fascinating to watch unfold. Not to mention she’s one of the first people to start exploring the backstory of her character!

George doesn’t exactly do lore. In fact he’s slept through so much of it it’s become a meme. And you know what? That mad man took that and ran with it. He explains his absence in the story by having his character literally being asleep through it, creating mystery where there used to just be an absence. He’s able to goof off with his friends and have borderline nonsensical streams, then at the end sucker punch the audience emotionally by “waking up” and have the viewers question just what was real and what wasn’t?

The smp has the freedom for people who want more independent lore to be able to explore their character’s that way as well!

Hbomb, Connereatspants, and Purpled don’t have a lot of lore on the smp, generally only coming on to have fun with everyone, but when they do have their moments it unfolds in very interesting ways!

Sapnap, Eret, and Schlatt maybe aren’t as active as some other people, but when they are on they actively participate in lore and have lasting impacts on the story (Ex: Eret’s betrayal, Sapnap’s visit to dream in the prison, Schlatt becoming president).

Philza mostly does his own thing, improving the server or making some bomb ass builds. He has incredibly devastating roles in lore (killing wilbur, blowing up L’manberg for the final time, starting the syndicate with Techno), but he also has quieter moments that speak to the depth his character has, such as fishing with fundy or reminiscing about his dead son and how it went so wrong. Like Techno, he doesn’t like to take lore completely seriously, often laughing no matter what’s happening or teasing chat after something big goes down, but his character is solid with a lot of potential for future lore.

Foolish has only started on his character and its already super interesting. The hints at his dark past as a “god of death” and his current conflict with the egg are intriguing as fuck. Not to mention the MASSIVE builds he does for everyone, helping to progress their lore as well.

Fundy has a lot of freedom with his character to participate however much he wants in lore. While generally he’s a trickster who loves to prank people he has enough tragedy build into his backstory he’s able to break the viewer’s heart with a flip of a switch. Not to mention his recent, almost surreal, stream that explored his character’s disturbing dreams that may or may not predict the future.

Niki is very character driven, exploring her character's grief of losing her best friend and her anger of being ignored in the very country she helped create. She has incredibly emotional moments, and even though she’s on her own building an underground city she still participates in other lore via teaming with jack manifold or the syndicate.

Jack Manifold’s lore is VERY character focused, and while he’s described his story as a “B plot that occasionally intersects with the main plot”, the story he tells is still fascinating. Being pushed aside not taken seriously his whole life, his character develops into a fun cartoony-esque villain who begs to be taken seriously, that has the depth of a truly conflicted person who is torn between wanting revenge on everyone who’s done him wrong and just wanting a friend.

Last but not least, the man himself, Dream. The most fascinating thing about his lore is that absolutely none of it is from his pov. All we know about his character is only from what we see from everyone else’s povs, and in his case it leads to a very intimidating villain! Not to mention, mans owns the damn server and yet has made himself the main antagonist! He is the only character I consider a “true villain” on the smp. His voice acting and writing is downright sinister. I could write a fucking essay on how his character’s obsession with power has led him to the point he thinks himself an unstoppable god

Everyone on this server is stunning and I love all of them!!!!!

It's... it's beautiful.

I have some questions about it that I'd like to hear your thoughts on, if you don't mind. (This is going to be long)

*Before I start, I'm recalling these details with the inability to double check atm but it should be fine*

You mentioned Tubbo wanting to escape the music box to where he wouldn't have to dance if the music box played, so does the box have a certain range of area in order to control Tubbo?

(Now for potential headcanon time >:D)

If so, a fluffy route is Tommy and Tubbo chilling (after knowing each other for a bit) and having placed the music box deep in the basement or something. They could get rid of it, but they don't know if the magic tied to Tubbo is also tied as close with the box. (Life line stuff- and it's not fluff anymore. I tried.)

The angst route tho (and gotta love some angst) is if say Tubbo is out of the general "range" of the box to dance but the music box calls to him-the music is played- from wherever. A scenario where Tubbo can't ignore its call and is forced to go reunite with the box- whether he's concious of the pull and heading back to where it is despite the dread or whether he's unconscious, like its an automatic process and his mind blanks as he hurries to be back with the box. (The possibilities if someone got their hands on the box with the angst mhmm)

And speaking of someone getting ahold of the music box...

Dream.

Dream gets ahold of the box (maybe noticing Tommy originally getting it, or like, Wilbur might've been doing a photo gallery of things to sell to potential customers idk stay with me, and skips over it fast or is like "oh, I already sold that one" to try and cover the fact that the box is very much NOT for sale, and not within their possession in case anyone did perk up with interest)

I don't know what Dream's profession would be... or relationship with Wilbur and co, but I could see him doing it (taking the box) to mess with Tommy. He took one of Tommy's finds that Tommy seems to appreciate. (The whole "you're too fun" dynamic because c!Dream just loves seeing kids in pain)

Dream could know about Tubbo prior or after the whole thing. (After playing the music box, Dream sees Tubbo arrive at some point to be with the box)

Tubbo is understandably terrified. Tubbo and the music box had never really been separated before this moment -out of the range-. (Tommy could have either just agreed to not play the box and have put it downstairs or Tubbo tried to escape the range and Tommy physically went after him, not choosing to utilize the music box.)

OR ALTERNATIVELY They do know, maybe Tubbo could have known this would happen because Tommy and him tested it out to see if he was free and Tubbo was like "I didn't want to come back... it /made/ me come back..." So que the alarm bells when Tommy realizes the box is gone after he can't find Tubbo.

Anyway! Back to Tubbo and Dream. (Tbh as soon as doll!Tubbo became a tag I went "Pawn? Puppeteer Dream? Porcelain doll? Puppet?!) A chess piece for a pawn might be bigger than doll!Tubbo... (o.O) 2-3 inches is pretty small.

So... assuming Dream does realize how important Tubbo is to Tommy, Dream uses it to his advantage. (Is making Tubbo dance the only thing the music box can do? Or could it control Tubbo to do other things as well 👀... depending on the music box holder 👀... up to you)

That brings me to the doll!Tubbo is "fairly fragile" as you stated in one of the asks. Which yes, great, stunning, he can feel things, and if one of his arms gets chopped off? Well that's alot of damage. Can Tubbo die while he's "fairly fragile"? (I mean the name implies he's fragile so... I guess so...)

Because alternatively, (and this is just for the idea) consider Tubbo still being fragile physically, but he can't die-or atleast is hard to kill-. A porcelain body, but he doesn't really feel sensations. (Because he is a doll, and do dolls breathe, do dolls have heartbeats, hmm) Tubbo's body is still breakable, maybe he loses an arm. "What a shame" but he lives on, there's not much he can do. He can't feel anything besides the solids underneath him and the things he touches. No smell or texturized sensations. He can't feel pain, so he could get cut up into pieces and still be aware of exsistence. (The whole clothes stuck to body thing tho I don't want to disprove that)

If he couldn't feel pain, imagine Dream drilling small holes on his body to add little puppeteer strings. Dream is excited he can't wait to hold /this/ over Tommy's head.

Tubbo, being dragged by strings, is completely helpless, and once realizing that Dream relishes in his struggles, has mainly given up.

Do they talk to one another? Who knows...

You mentioned a potential counter curse which... fluff good fluff, but what of it involved Tubbo slowly gaining "human characteristics" back (more so to the idea that Tubbo can't feel sensations, smell things or feel pain)

And then the drilling starts, and for the first time in a long time, Tubbo feels pain. (Also the drilling puppet strings is dark, yessir, but I forgot Tubbo was porcelain and was like ah yes wood doll, ah yes, puppet strings go brr)

Anyway, that was my ramble, thanks for reading this!

Okay okay okay-

So (it's gonna be hard to answer all of this but I'mma try-)

Music box control: there is a range, basically if Tubbo can hear the music he has to dance to it- BUT if he's out of range and someone plays the music he is forced to get into range to hear it from the curse (like what you said with him being stuck in a trance and going to find it). As for control, you can use the box to make him do other things, but you have to change the melody (music boxes have this little metal roll in them that has dots to play the song, and you can buy a new one and change it any time) and sing an actual song to that melody about what you want him to do- singing to the original melody doesn't work

Dream: Dream is probably someone who buys and trades stolen items from Wilbur alot. And most likely a hidden fae. So, Wilbur had taken a picture of the box and posted it on his (secret) website before he knew about Tubbo, and when Dream saw it- he immediately recognised the cursed music box and wanted it. Of course by then Wilbur would be unwilling to sell it, but Dream has his ways (fae cursed the box remember? So, what fae that's going to steal this box do you think was there when it was cursed? Dream. So who knows how to utilize the curse? Dream.)

Tubbo and pain: Tubbo can feel pain. But he can't die. So you can shatter him to a million pieces and he would be in agony unless someone glued him back together- and he can't pass out- (I know, I'm a monster). Dream knows all of this- so when he wants a puppet it just makes him do a sloppy job at drilling the holes in, just so he can hurt Tubbo more.

Counter curse: through the counter Tubbo would turn back very slowly, and it would take at least a year to turn completely human again (although he would be free from the box's control instinaniously)- as well as, even though he was turned into a tiny doll, he can't be grown back, so he's now a tiny human- but at least a free tiny human

Okay. This won’t happen but this is what I’d have done.

Sorry it’s bit of a ramble. Stick with it.

Whilst this arc has been mainly character based, I think it could help spur on more group involvement over the next two arcs.

The festival is the perfect time to bring people together. From here, the plans, Quackity, Fundy, Ranboo and Tubbo have made would inevitably go wrong. As well as the plans of Techno, Philza and Tommy. And Dream.

First, Dream tries to uno reverse Tubbo/Quackity with the assassination attempt, only to get rudely interrupted by Techno, Tommy and Philza. Now, Dream tries to call in his favour, Techno, much to the displeasure of his two advisories, Tommy and Philza. This chaos actually ends up in an argument of words between everyone. Theres accusations, threats, it’s just alot.

Then out on the horizon, an arrow shoots off. Everyone turns and its Nki. The shock leads everyone to be silent and Niki tries to convince everyone the common enemy is Dream. Tommy and Quackity quickly agree but others are more reluctant. Dream tries to manipulate and control the crowd and Niki. You think Niki is falling for it, others in the crowd have and she looks disheartened.

“Dream, how many lives do you have?”

Its a questions so out of the blue considering everything thats just happened. She looks at him waiting for his answer.

“Three”

“Wrong” And she shoots him, killing Dream, taking one of his lives. “You have two.”

Theres silence for a moment. Dream had been able to convince some that he wasn’t the bad guy, you have George confused starting to yell at her. Other make their way towards her and Techno steps in the way.

“I didn’t harvest these skulls for nothing!” And Philza and him set the withers loose. They distract the crowd, allowing Fundy to pull Niki away, Ranboo close behind.

Tubbo stands shocked, confused before freaking out over the withers. However, someone pulls him back, starts dragging him away.

“Tubbo! Come on! We need to go! Now!”

It’s Tommy, he’s pulling the confused boy away, dragging him towards Niki and their friends. Tommy’s anger for the other pushed aside by his instinct to protect him.

Quackity stands face to face with Techno, chaos erupting all around him. Philza puts a hand on Techno’s shoulder.

“Not today.”

And Techno turns as Quackity yells with fury. Angered by everything but especially by Techno escaping once again. He goes to yell at the others to help him but they’re gone. Fundy. Ranboo, Tubbo, Tommy, are gone. They’re no where in sight. They all left him like they’d all left Schlatt.

Dreams allies are the only ones left. Enemys surround him but instead of trying to kill Quackity, their minds are filled with stopping the withers. Quackity focuses his rage into tackling the withers first, adding a few more names in his head of those who have betrayed L’Manburg, betrayed him.

Meanwhile, running into the uninhabited areas, the group slow down. Niki catches her breath. Everyone looks at her. Ghostbur and Friend have joined the fray. Philza and Techno have caught up. They all just look at one another, suddenly realising that they’d just separated themselves once more from the other group. Suddenly realising that no matter what resentment, hatred or disagreements they have don’t matter anymore because they have to help each other now. They’re alone together.

Dream respawns at the spawn point having never had a house. It hadn’t gone the way he intended. They were all meant to go against him. He slowly makes his way to a chest that houses his stuff in it. People are still fighting withers. He notes the people missing from the chaos and swiftly tries to change his plans.

From here a new arc begins.

With Niki’s group they all agree they need to take away at least another life of Dream’s. They all realise this is their common goal. However everyone’s morals conflict and whilst they all agree to stay together, the interpersonal drama causes planning to be difficult. Throughout the arc they resolve certain differences, gain others, joke etc. Think like MCU. Each character has their own personal story going on with the end goal being the same. Overarching plot, individual plots. everything reacting with one another. They manage to recruit more people but not everyone. They recruit a key player. Sam.

Dreams side he’s trying to scramble, feeling slightly vulnerable having lost an actual life. However, theres still a cockiness there because he’s got two. He’s still got two.

The end of this arc has them taking away another life of Dream’s. Having tricked him into setting his spawn in the prison, Sam locks the gate. At the end of this arc they survey all damage from previous arcs and the new stuff.

The next arc consists of rebuilding and trying to meld together everyones ideologies and morals into a functioning society once more. This comes with it’s own trials and tribulations.

Along side this you have Dream, vulnerable with only having one life left and stuck in the prison. He knows what this prison is, he knows the extent of it. He’s allowed visitors and here he tries to manipulate and change things but also comes to realisations about himself. He sometimes has fun again. As Sam has pointed out, there are things to do in this prison so you’re not just stuck. When he has certain visitors they have fun, he doesn’t worry about anything and slowly he accepts his fate.

I don’t know how this arc would end but i imagine a repeat of history with betrayals, arguments over land, griefing would inevitably happen because humans cannot help themselves. They really can’t help being selfish, being annoying, being angry.

I just think this would be a way to meld the individual plots, the characters and nationwide plots together.

This won’t happen. But this is how I’d have written it.

Why I think Barchie Needs To Happen.

Well I’m bored so I figured I would pass the time by rambling on about Barchie. So I figured I would explain why I not only think Barchie will happen in season 5 but why it needs to happen. Obviously these are just my own thoughts, feelings and opinions on it, totally fine if anyone disagrees.

One of the biggest reasons why I think Barchie needs to happen is one I’ve made no secret of in my previous posts. I’m bored with the current couples. That’s not to say that Jughead and Betty and Veronica and Archie are necessarily bad couples. It’s just that they’ve become too repetitive. To be honest I don’t feel like those relationships are progressing anymore. They’ve become stagnant. All Betty and Jughead do is investigate crimes and all Archie and Veronica do is get into conflicts with Hiram. It just keeps going round in circles. In the first two seasons their relationships were still progressing and growing but in my opinion the relationships haven’t really developed any further in season 3 and 4. Shaking up the couples would change that.

Another problem that I think occurred from keeping the same couples for so long was with character interaction. It seemed like Riverdale had gotten into this rut where only the same set of characters would interact with each other. For example most of Betty’s scenes were with Jughead. Most of Archie’s scenes were with Veronica, pretty much all of Toni’s scenes were with Cheryl. It became very rare to see these characters interacting with anyboby else. Which again, this becomes boring and monotonous. But if you look at season 4 with the plot of Jughead’s fake death and the Barchie plotline we immediately started to see other characters interact with each other. We saw Veronica with Cheryl, Jughead with Charles, Ethel and the Stonies. We also saw Betty interacting with Donna. Toni, Reggie, Kevin and Fangs all had a storyline together, admittedly a terrible one but it was still a group of different characters interacting, the thing I loved about the last episode was it was a large group of characters together and that was fun to see. By breaking up the core four you open it up for other interactions and the possibilties are really interesting. It was one of the best parts of the blackhood storyline. We got to see Betty and Archie investigating a mystery instead. We got to see Jughead more involved in the Serpents and hanging out with Toni. The same again when Archie left. We started to see Veronica have storylines with other people like Reggie and the Pretty Poisons. Even getting mixed up with Gladys Jones. It was something different and that made it exciting and interesting. Season 5 is going to be introducing some new characters and this is one of the things I’m most excited for because we’ll be seeing something new and new interactions between characters. There are so many possibilties for new conflicts, new friendships and new love interests. Obviously I don’t think B*ghead and V*rchie are the sole reason why there was so little interaction between all of the characters but I do think it was a huge contributing factor, I feel like the writers just got too comfortable if that makes sense.

Reason number 3 why Barchie needs to happen is because I feel like they need to be properly explored. Because of the way they were set up in the pilot and then the following seeds that were planted over the following seasons if they don’t get properly explored then they will always be a what if, a loose end if you will. I know some people feel like Barchie came out of nowhere but I personally think it was pretty obvious that they were laying down the paving stones for Barchie in pretty much all the seasons barring season 3. I mean the pilot episode established their backstory of childhood crushes, and made it clear that Betty was in love with Archie. The way the rejection happened in my opinion very much left the door ajar for them. In my opinion it wasn’t a straight forward rejection on Archie’s part. I just think he was confused and conflicted and wasn’t ready to start a relationship with Betty at that time. But later in the season it was obvious Archie had some jealous feelings towards B*ghead, Veronica even called him out on it. Then there was the whole ‘A little part of me always thought.’ Jughead’s voiceover about the boy next door looking at the girl next door as if for the first time. The kiss that they didn’t talk about, the fact that they didn’t talk about it very much again left that door ajar for them. They have never ever completely closed the door on Barchie. Whilst all of these were small moments they were all little stepping stones that were being laid down leading up to the events of season 4 where you got this perfect storm of situations, the stress of Jughead’s fake death, the fake dating, the fact that with graduation coming up it felt like everything was changing. All of this contributed to all of Barchie’s oppressed feelings coming back up again. But this time Betty is the one that’s not ready to commit to a serious relationship with Archie. But once again the door hasn’t been completely closed. Again I know some shippers feel like the cheating storyline in season 4 means Barchie has been explored and thats it now. But in my opinion with the unfinished song and the unburned diary Barchie’s story still remains unfinished. In order for them to really be done with the Barchie storyline they need to fully explore them. That means having them in a relationship, going on dates, sleeping together, having fights, making up, being domestic with each other and all that jazz. Otherwise they will still be that what if. I think post timejump season 5 is the perfect time to explore them. Enough time would have passed for the hurt from their breakups and the betrayal from the cheating to have healed somewhat. Both Jughead and Veronica are going to be in other seemingly serious relationships. Veronica will be married and Jughead has a live in girlfriend. With them in other relationships it would make sense for Archie and Betty to feel more comfortable starting a relationship then right after they all break up. Also they are older and more mature so they will be able to work through those emotions better.

Why I think they should be endgame.

Ok so I’ve put this in a separate section because its slightly different from them being explored. I 100% think they will be explored but whether they will be endgame is another question. I know there’s alot of talk about Barchie having a relatively short lived relationship and then the original couples coming back together. Most are comparing it to Spaleb from PLL but here’s the thing the two situations are completely different for one very good reason. Spaleb were not explored at all before that timejump so they really did come out of nowhere. However as I’ll talk about more later Barchie has already had romantic moments a set up before now, basically Spaleb had no foundation Barchie does. I personally think its too early to tell what will happen. There is still a possibilty that Barchie will end up together in the end.

The first reason why I think they should be endgame is because I am a Barchie shipper who is obsessed with all things Barchie so naturally I want my ship to be endgame and I think I deserve to have my ship become endgame for a change otherwise I’m going to think I’m bad at this whole shipping thing. Basically I’m biased but I am aware of this and have no shame in it, like that’s sort of part of shipping everyone has their favourites and they want their favourites to be endgame.

All jokes aside though one of the most common arguments I’ve seen against Barchie becoming endgame is that they are the childhood to lovers troupe and that troupe is overused so it would be too predictable. However this is actually the reason why I think they should be endgame because whilst I agree that the troupe is popular in tv shows from what I’ve seen it’s actually kind of rare for those couples to actually become endgame. I mean maybe I’m watching the wrong tv shows but some of the couples off the top of my head, Joey and Dawson from Dawson’s Peak not endgame, Willow and Xander from Buffy not endgame, Vanessa and Dan from Gossip Girl not endgame, might be wrong about this one but I think Hanna and her boyfriend Sean were childhood friends but not endgame, the only couple I can think of off the top of my head who were endgame were Navid and Adriana from 90210. Like I said it could just be the shows I’m watching but it seems to me that if Barchie do end up together it would actually be more of a twist than if they didn’t. It would be nice to see that troupe actually work out for the couple for a change.

Another argument I see alot is that it wouldn’t be realistic for them to be endgame. Some say it wouldn’t be realistic for them to date their best friend’s ex, some say it wouldn’t be realistic for them to last when they were childhood sweethearts. The thing is realism in tv is a bit of a tricky thing because is some instances I do think its ok to complain about the lack of realism but other times its not. What I mean is that you have to look at realism within the boundaries of the show. And it can be different for each show. For example if a monster jumps out at a character in Supernatural that’s realistic for that show, you know its what the show is about. However if you were watching something like NCIS and a monster jumped out at a character that wouldn’t be realistic at all. An example of this in Riverdale is when thugs break into the Maple club and then Veronica apologises to Penelope. To me this was completely unrealistic for Veronica’s character to be apologising for putting Penelope, the woman who had recently tried to kill Veronica and her friends, in danger. But something like dating your friend’s ex or high school sweethearts getting married and becoming endgame happens all the time in this type of show, its not only realistic in the show but expected. Also if you go the realistic route then none of the couples should end up together. In reality only 2% of marriages are between couples who met and dated in high school and alot of them don’t last. For me within the boundaries of the show I actually think Barchie would be very realisitc. Like I said it is way too early to really know at this moment. But I could see Archie and Betty becoming sources of comfort for each other in the dark world that is Riverdale. They are each other’s constant the person they know will always be there, whether that’s as a friend or a lover. No matter how mad they get at each other they’ll still be there. I said in one of my reviews that I think part of the reason why Betty rejects Archie is because she knows that he’ll still be there even if she tells him she doesn’t want to be with him romantically. She was very worried about losing Jughead but she knew that she wouldn’t lose Archie, because Archie is always there and has been since she was a little girl. However I do think Betty will get a scare while he is in the army and that will be what pushes them towards having a relationship. Bascially I can see them being each other’s rock in the crazy town of Riverdale. In my opinion they have a more mature relationship with mature feelings towards each other and at the moment whilst in high school I don’t think they are ready for those feelings but after the time jump and as adults I think they will work really well together. I think they needed the relationships with Jughead and Veronica, they grew through those relationships, they learnt through those relationships but I think as they get older Archie and Betty will be more suited to each other. I know Betty has had some, hmm how to put it? Spicy scenes with Jughead but to me I feel like Archie would be more into that kind of thing than Jughead. I feel like while Jughead doesn’t mind it he more goes along with it because its what Betty is into whereas I feel like Archie would be more of a match to her if you get my drift, for some reason I’m picturing fireman roleplaying. Also I am still conflicted about the whole erasing asexual Jughead. I did read something a while back, think it was like 2017, where Roberto touched on the subject saying that “I think all of the kids are discovering themselves, and a big part of that is discovering their sexuality, their sexual selves. Rather than have everything fully formed — for instance, we’re not going to start with Archie’s band or Jughead’s asexuality or any of the things that have become canon — those are all stops on the way to the journey until the show catches up to 75 years of Archie history.” Also around the same time Cole said “The entirety of season 1 sets the pace for a character’s narrative arc. Because of the fluidity of sexuality and how oftentimes a person discovers who they are after a series of events – like those told in our origin stories – this is an ongoing conversation.” But bascially I am hopeful that they might still explore Jughead as asexual. As time has gone on that hope has dwindled a bit but its still there. Again I think the time jump is the perfect time to start exploring this. Obviously this doesn’t mean that Jughead can’t fall in love or wasn’t in love with Betty of course he was but I would like to see a Jughead who is asexual because I do think this is something that needs to be more explored in popular media and if they are going the route of Jughead discovers his sexuality over time then this is the perfect moment for them to introduce that. Again this is just my opinion don’t come for me with pitchforks.

Anyway that’s it for now I have a lot more thoughts but no one wants to read a novel on my non sensical ramblings of barchie. Also I’m sorry if this post doesn’t make much sense it’s nearly 2 am where I am and I’m having trouble sleeping so... Anyway what do you guys think do you think they’ll explore Barchie in season 5? Do you think they could be endgame or do you think they will unltimately end up back with the original couples?

Finally after nearly a week and with the help of the prompt list i finally finished this. its kinda sad I wont lie, so im sorry im currently very heart broken so yes i hope you enjoy, requests are open :)

Driving down these familiar roads was always hard, you drove in silence fighting back tears as you think about the last 3 years of your life, how you gave everything to one man. How you moved in together, traveled the world, sacrificed everything for his career. You slow to a stop at a red light. You let out a long shaky breath, you had not been back in so long. You look out of the window at the handful of people walking down their streets, how you and him once walked down the same streets hand in hand, not a care in the world your whole future together ahead of you. You swallow the lump in your throat as you look at the old apartment building. A smile forming as you thought back to the time where you both locked yourself out in the middle of the night to get a pizza, it was so cold, and he was freezing but despite that he gave you the sweatshirt off his back just so you could be warm. He was so caring, so loving with all the little things he did. You wipe your eyes as you drive down what seemed like a never ending road. The break up wasn't mutual, he believed it was. You didn't understand why but you were afraid to ask. Especially now because you see him having fun on social media. It had been 7 months but the wounds were still fresh, only for you it seemed. It appeared as though it had never happened to him. You spent so many nights in tears wishing he was lay next to you as you drift off to sleep, more often than you would care to admit. It hurt so much, you wish you could just forget, like he had. Was it ever real? Did he think of you? Did he read back on your texts? Did he still have all of your pictures, did he look at them every once in a while? It was dumb, you felt stupid that you were still hung up on him. You couldn't even look at his friends- your friends, but couldn't bring yourself to unfollow him on twitter. You were not fine, at all! You wipe your eyes as you parked up outside of your parents house. You check your phone, your heart racing as his name lit up your screen.

Tom: im back in London this weekend maybe we could hang out like old times

Tom: no pressure ive just been doing alot of thinking lately and I miss you

Whilst you were surprised to see his text, you couldn't bring your self to reply you couldn't hurt you self again… could you?

Throughout the week you looked back on the relationship, not only the good, but the bad. How you guys would get into fights about how you didn't want pizza again for dinner or how he would complain about you having to sleep with the TV on, or that he would go out drinking 3 nights in a row and he would reply that it was no big deal and that he was just living his life. Was all of the heart ache worth it for the good times. Cuddling in bed in the mornings stealing kisses as you would watch the sun rise, picnics in the park which would last all day watching movies and sharing headphones, karaoke nights that turned into karaoke mornings with multiple complaints from neighbors.

Of cause you had to text him back, you had to see him again and not just his pictures on Instagram. You wanted to hold him again, closer than you had ever done and not let him go. It was foolish, and you knew it. But here you are, sat in your car waiting outside of the cafe you spent so many hours together just talking about anything and everything. You see him get out of his car so you follow, adjusting your top as you step out. Your heart pounds as you lock eyes, forcing a smile you walk over, unsure of what to really say, Tom struggling too. Neither of you spoke until you had gotten your drinks and sat on a table outside in the sun. you rest your sunglasses on your head.

“So” you clear your throat, “how have you been?”

“Good, really good actually” he breaths. “Well, honestly not great but good. Does that make sense, like I'm happy, I'm making movies, partying, meeting so many people but I could still be better” he rambles on, his hands moving as he spoke. You nod.

“I saw far from home the other day actually” you spoke slowly, his eyes lighting up.

“Did you like it?”

“Yep” you take another sip of your drink. “That mysterio guy was cute” you trail off, his smile fading quickly.

“That's not funny”

“It wasn't a joke. We aren't together. I can look at other guys Tom” you quickly regret saying anything, the tension was thick in the air making it almost impossible to breathe. You wanted to show him you were doing more than ‘good’ without him, that you were great, that you had moved on.

“What have you been up to?”

“Working mostly, i'm doing good though, Ive been saving to get my own place and maybe a cat… how Tessa?”

“She misses her mum” Tom confesses

“What?” you felt your palms sweat. His brown eyes full of sadness, like he could burst into tears any second. He quickly clears his throat.

“she can roll over now" he forces a smile, quickly moving on from what he had said.

"I don't believe that" you try to joke, thinking back to how hard it was to get her to sit and give paw. 3 full days you both spent sitting on the kitchen floor trying to get her to sit on command.

"I told you she was a smart dog. She's so hyper nearly all of the time. At night she brings a toy to bed" he gets his phone and shows you a picture. "She will only lie on your side of the bed now" you felt your eyes sting with fresh tears.

“Its her side of the bed now” your voice is quiet and full of sadness.

“Do you still love me?” tom questions. You were taken back, you couldn't even look him in the eyes. You open your mouth to speak but no words come out, quickly you wipe your eyes.

“Of Course i still love you, and I hate myself for it” you struggle. “You hurt me so bad Tom. I never wanted to break up, i never wanted to fight with you, i was willing to sacrifice so much more for you but none of that was ever good enough for you, i dropped out of university to come to america with you, i left my family, my friends, i quit my job. I sacrificed Christmases and birthdays to spend time with you and your family and your friends” your voice grows louder and louder the more you get worked up to the point where you were now crying, you dont bother to wipe the tears, ignoring that your makeup is now a mess. “Would i do it again? For you? Always” you voice cracks. “Because i love you. Do you love me?” you finally look up at him to be greeted with red eyes and tear stained cheeks.

“I- I” he struggles, both of your hearts breaking all over again. “I physically cannot put into words how much I love you and exactly how much I miss you y/n. I'm sorry I was so selfish, I was a shitty boyfriend and I was lucky for those 3 years and I should be grateful for those years but I want more. I want to wake up next to you, I want you to be the first person I see in the morning and the last I see before I close my eyes. I don't expect you to say yes, but i would love to take you out to dinner tonight, on a date at least 1 last time”

“Tom” you breath.

“I need an answer” he begs

“It's never going to be the same” you cry.

“That's the point!” he stresses. “That's the point! This time, i'm going to put you before me like i should have done before”

“I don't want you to put me first, I want to be your equal” you wipe your eyes with the back of your hand.

“So what do you say? dinner?”

I finished Final Fantasy 7 Remake

Long story short, I loved it!! So much!! And there’s alot I wanna rant about so here we are. A review of sorts?? Major spoilers ahead!

And if y’all think you’re immune to spoilers because you played the original FF7, YOU ARE NOT. Lots of new stuff here....just warning y’all.

Although! I did find this great looking walkthrough playlist if anyone’s interested and can’t play the thing themselves? Idk how complete it is with the details, but from a glance it looks nice!

- FIRST OF ALL the music in it all is amazing!!! From the menu song all throughout, I got Emotional. All the rehashings of Aerith’s theme?? Tifa’s theme?? The FF7 main theme here are there?? AMAZING!!!! I need to find a tracklist or something there are so many versions of the songs specific to the scenes they played in and I die??? Man it is Good.

- On the music front, I really enjoyed the Jukebox feature! So they could add in old classic songs that story-wise couldn’t appear yet...good nostalgia there.

- Lil disclaimer, I played the original FF7 fairly recently, on Steam. HOWEVER. I played Crisis Core years ago, and watched Advent Children, etc. And Final Fantasy music has been a staple homework playlist for me for ages now.... So yes I’m new to the whole FF7 original story. But not new in how most people are...it’s a weird situation lol. Like I knew the general FF7 story for awhile but just recently filled the details....

- The gameplay is awesome!! I wasn’t great at it, but...tbh it felt like mechanics combo of the original FF7, FF15, annnnd Kingdom Hearts :D Also appreciated it PAUSED when you picked out commands lol. Loved upgrading weapons. Loved working with materia. I wish there were like...ways to save a materia set so you could easily switch over when your characters were switched out though X’’’’D

- Biggs is Aro/Ace

- Cloud is VERY Aro/Ace

- Tifa might be Ace

- I decided long ago (in my Crisis Core phase) that Sephiroth is Aro/Ace. There’s nothing to “prove it” in this game but I’m holding to it. I have claimed these characters askjdhuiwdhguerhgr

- Side note, slightly related, but I love how the relationships shone in this remake?? Lots of casual, comfortable touch with Tifa and Cloud (in which Cloud seems in general pretty touch averse due likely to Trauma) in a “we’ve known each other our whole lives” way and gosh I love them. Aerith with Cloud is adorable. Barret!!! Was characterized SO WELL here, and I love him way more than I ever did!! Barret and Tifa interactions as well were so heartfelt and wonderful aaaaaa how good

- Like...Barret haaaates Cloud in the beginning. But somewhere along the way he adopts Cloud instead and ain’t that fantastic?? He just can’t contain how much he cares about others and especially his daughter and goSH I love him.

- Aerith!! I love her!! She gave such a vibe that she knows more than she says, but is still so cute and sweet and sassy I LOVE!!!! Also that scene in the train graveyard with baby Aerith ;;~;;

- Also

Cloud: You need any help??

Aerith, climbing a ladder: I’m fine. You don’t need to treat me like a princess or anything~~~

- Cloud was actually really cute with kids!!!!!

- I think I saw a post where they talked about how much more consistent characterizations were here?? I have to agree. I feel some stuff was lost in translation while playing FF7 original, and it felt alot more put together, character-wise, here. I feel like some of that was learned from FF15 and its success with character relationships?? It was Good.

_ I rambled about this before, but Wall Market was every bit as embarrassing as you would think. *covers face*

- Also I thought it was interesting how they handled who was in your party when! A little annoying sometimes though, switching materia around!!! DX I also really wanted to actually PLAY Red XIII/Nanaki....but sure make him an NPC, whatever. (I am grateful he healed me often.)

- *me when Nanaki shows up* AAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!! THERE HE IS!!!!!!! (sidenote, in the original, I didn’t wanna call him by his experiment name. He’s the only character I changed the name of. The name I picked? Ignis. :”D )

- The motorcycle segments were ANNOYING AS HECK, especially that last one in escaping the Shinra building DX The game forced your camera to focus on the boss and that made the controls VERY ANNOYING. Cool to watch tho.

- I actually almost completed the game boss fight chain early last night!! But RIGHT when I got to Sephiroth, the family demanded I get off the TV for their use D: all that progress....I had to redo ALOT. DX

- STILL the fights were VERY cool! Reminded me of KHII end alot actually, jumping around on broken floating buildings and whatnot?? Also the creature looked like a HUGE DARKSIDE heartless lol

- There’s actually alot in this remake that gives alot of a KH feel to me?? Nomura I see you....

- *screeching the One Winged Angel theme still not knowing the words*

- I LOVED how they showed scenes of the future in the end?? Probably ripped from Advent Children, but?? The characters actually seeing that?? Going “this CAN’T be our future!!” Yo. Also it’s implied it might not HAPPEN now going against destiny and all. I know alot of people are pissed but I am EXCITED. I’m all for a fix-it fic game thank YOU.

- Speaking of fix-it: ZACK. ZAAAAAACK!!!!!! It’s implied he’s alive in one reality so WHERE IS HE??????? I’m so curious about this new story. I’m gonna eat up theories. I want!! To see!! My baby boy!!!!!! to be Fair (haha) I spoiled myself knowing he was in the game but I didn’t know WHEN!!!

- This is terrible, but I love how much they expressed how NOT OK Cloud is. His mental state is awful, but boi won’t talk about it.

- Like I know it’s in the original, but it comes up ALOT more in the remake, and the flashbacks/brain short out moments are more obvious in HD for sure. Plus Cloud’s eyes seem more green there, which is a great touch!! Also the incredible FORESHADOWING it brought. Love it. Please someone help this idiot with his headaches....

- I did get annoyed with the whole scene in Hojo’s lab. Cloud’s walking like a zombie toward where Jenova is, saying CONCERNING things, and NO ONE reaches out until he outright collapses? We all just gonna stand back and watch?? Sure ok.

- Hojo is absolutely disgusting and horrifying and exactly how I imagined him, creators did great job.

- Also why does no one use curaga in these character death scenes???? Potion? Anything????Hello??????

- I was so relieved Wedge (and one of his 3 cats) got to live, and then devastated when they chucked him out a window last minute ;;A;; still. I didn’t see a body. Maybe he’s ok.....*sobs*

- I WAS NOT EXPECTING BIGGS TO BE SEEN IN RECOVERY THO YEEEEESSSSS (I love ANY sign that they DID manage to change the future a little...I thought he was dead!!) Fun fact! The one part I legitimately started crying was when Biggs “died”! Hhhhhhhhhh

- Those dang dementors huh? X’’’D Whispers of fate...there to make sure the story goes according to the original game basically. Does that make the whispers the purist fans of FF7? ...please don’t kill me for that comment sidfiushguigerha

- I just wanna say making a game ABOUT making a remake (that is different from the original) and the struggles in that is VERY meta and so clever and delightful and I LOVE IT. I really wanna see what happens next....

All in all I spent 52 hours on this game. WAY more than I expected for only covering Midgar. And I ENJOYED it!! Some parts felt like the story was being dragged/padded, but most of the time I didn’t care. Also there’s even more to do?? Apparently I missed some scenes....I don’t have time for now, but maybe someday. Or maybe I’ll just look them up ;;7;;

Sick Fic - Just cause

Rue has a cold, why she came to school today is anyone's fucking guess, but if they were to guess it was for Jules then they'd probably be right.

Rue likes to be around Jules it makes her feel better, she also feels that If she's around she can protect her from Nate. Everytime she sees him around she searches Jules face for any sign of discomfort and more often than not she finds it. Her smile dims and her eyes try to find any place to look that isnt his fucking face. Sometimes he catches her eye and gets that infuriating smirk on his face. It makes her blood boil, how uncomfortable he makes her, how he smiles at her like they're sharing some kind of moment, some kind of beautiful memory. She tries not to let Jules catch sight of him often. She likes to distract her by craking stupid jokes and asking her weird questions, or asking her what's on her mind in that very moment or giving her sarcastic commentary on the people at their school.

Rue is the most expressive she thinks she's ever been when she's trying to distract Jules. The most expressive she's ever been period. Thinks she's gotten pretty good at it. Keeping Jules preoccupied. Pep rallys though, pep rallys are hard, seeing as Nate is pretty much showcased along with the rest of the football team. Today that's not much of a problem, today she's too worried about Rue's face. How washed out she looks, how tired she looks. Rue's been kind of off all day, lethargic and inattentive, and throughout the day it's only gotten worse.

For one guilty moment she wonders if Rue is on some type of drug, but she immediately banishes the thought from her mind especially when she sees how miserable Rue looks. Rue looks kinda like she's about to pass out even though she's sitting down and she feels like it too. She has her head down on the lunch table, cradled by her arm and her eyes are droopy. She tries on a smile for Jules but it's kind of pathetic and she knows it.

"You ok" Jules asks. Rue hums in affirmation but Jules knows its bullshit, she puts a hand on her forehead, an inaccurate measuring tool sure but, Rue is hot, hotter than normal and she tells her as such. In response she gets that dopey smile and a dorky "thanks" that makes her smile. "No Rue"she giggles "I mean yeah, but I meant you're temperature". To this Rue doesnt reply, just closes her eyes as Jules strokes her hair.

Jules knows there's gonna be a pep rally today, so does Rue, that's part of the reason she came in today, and she doesn't want Rue to be swept up in the overwhelming dizzying mess that will inevitably result from the festivities. As soon as she thinks that it starts. She could hear them coming from a mile away. Whooping and hollering like a pack of banshees. Rue hears them too and fails at suppressing a groan as they surge through the cafeteria.

The way they stampede through the halls and the walkways make Rue's head throb and she turns away from the stairs and the crowd, buries her face into her arms. The closer they get the louder they become until the room is filled with a deafening roar of yelling football players and stomping cheerleaders. Rue visibly cringes, tucks further into herself and Jules resolves to get her out of there as soon as possible.

Rue is like jelly when she gets up, has to use the table to steady herself. Jules gently lifts one of Rue's arms and slips it around her shoulders, thinks about asking Lexi to help, goes with Kat instead. Lexi kind of stares at her and Rue alot and Jules can't figure out what her problem is. Later it'll come out that Lexi has had a huge capital C crush on Rue for almost as long as she can remember. For now Rue leans on her, places her head on her shoulder and moves when Jules moves.

Kat comes over grabs Rue's other arm Jules shifts to wrap an arm around her waist instead. She doesn't want people to think Rue is drugged out, knows she hates the speculation, knows a teacher might intercept them and make assumptions that they won't allow Jules or Rue to refute. They might call Rue's mom, and Rue's mom might get mad, accuse Rue of doing what for once in her life she's not.

Kat takes control as they move through the crowded cafeteria. Kat's become something of a bad bitch, a commanding force where she used to try to shrink into herself. She stands tall now, walks with purpose, and people get out of her way. Nate tracks their movements as they make their way out of the cafeteria. Jules can feel his eyes on her, on them. Jules hates the way he looks at her, hates the way he gets that little smile on his face like they share a secret. To be fair they do, they both hold the power to destroy each others life, but he makes it seem like he's having fun. Like they're having fun, and no one ever seems to catch the looks he gives her. No one except maybe Rue.

Rue feels Jules stiffen, turns her head into Jules's neck, whispers in her ear "so you think I'm hot huh" Jules smiles its one of those moments Rue provides, a moment where she forgets all about Nate and anything that isnt Rue. Eventually they make it out of the cafeteria, past screaming jocks and their cheerleading counterparts. Jules thanks Kat says she's got it from here and sends her on her way. Kat gives her a grin and tells her to text her when they make it to where ever they end up. It's only after shes alone in the hall with a sick Rue that she realizes she has no idea where they're gonna go. Luckily Rue takes the initiative and tells her that her mom isn't home.

Also lucky, Rue didnt bike to school today. She's something of an expert on when not to ride her bike so she took the bus with Gia that morning. In the back of her mind she thinks she should text her, just so she's not worried that Rue's fucked off to God knows where to do God knows what. However right now her head feels light and airy and she doesnt have the energy to search for her phone. Its Jules that takes the initiative on this one, texts Gia, tells her Rue's alright but she's taking her home cause she doesn't feel so hot.

Jules takes her home on her bike, has Rue wrap her arms around her waist like that first night. The night that they met. Rue snuggles up takes advantage of being so close to Jules. Siphons her warmth, she'd started to shiver against the wind chill. Or maybe that's just her cold, making her feel a chill that's not there. Jules certainly doesnt seem to be cold. Not from where she's pressed up against her.

She's visibly upset when they pull up to the house and her and Jules separate. I mean they're still in contact, Jules has slipped Rue's arm back around her shoulders, but she' not as close as she'd like to be. She wants Jules all over her, wants to be surrounded by her, feel that warmth again.

Jules takes her house keys and unlocks the door. Then she leads her to her bedroom, gets Rue out of her street clothes and into something comfy, shorts and a big t-shirt. She almost leaves to get her cold medicine, decides against it. For one she doesn't know if that's the kind of thing Rue can have. For two Rue has grabbed her wrist, lightly of course, Rue always gives her the option to pull away. "Stay"? She questions. Jules pauses looks at her with something Rue will later come to recognize as adoration, for now it makes her nervous. "I-I mean, only if you want to" "you obviously dont have to". She's giving her puppy dog eyes and an out, and she's rambling and Jules realizes she was never gonna say no. She hadn't even thought of leaving. She cuts Rue off "of course Rue", "just let me get out of this". Jules gives Rue that smile that makes her insides feel mushy. It's all gentle and lovely, it's the kind of smile that turns her into a lovesick loser.

Jules dons much the same thing as Rue. One of Rue's t-shirts but without the shorts. She grabs her laptop and pulls up madoka magica, Rue can't run away from her this time so she's forced to watch it. Not that she minds, because she's with Jules and she would happily do anything that Jules asked. Besides she was planning on taking a nap anyway, the ultimate escape.

Rue snuggles up to her immediately, puts her head on her chest, watches the anime with hooded eyes. Despite her wanting to take a nap she fights sleep. Wants to enjoy being wrapped up in Jules for as long as she can.

As Jules cuddles Rue a question comes into mind that she can't shake. She wonders why Rue came to school today. Her mother wouldn't have made her come in, would have taken the nesscarry precautions to make sure her daughter was actually sick, would have known whether or not to give her cough medicine. So she asks, because Rue's a pretty honest person when she wants to be. When she doesn't have to craft lies to get out of trouble. And Rue, Rue tells her. Well sleepily mumbles it to her is a more accurate description, but Jules catches every word. Maybe it's the fever but she's awfully candid."You make me better"she says "and I can't just leave you all alone with stupid fucking Nate jacobs" this she says with a furrowed brow."I just really like you Jules, I wanna spend as much time with you as I can" " I want as many people to see us together as possible, so they know that we're together" "so they know I can have something as good as you" "so I know it". Her heart catches too.

Later Ms.Bennet goes into Rue's room to see if she's actually there. She finds her daughter curled up with Jules. Her head on her chest, her arm around her waist. Jules's arms are draped over her holding her in a lose hug. A laptop is left abandoned at the edge of the bed, open but unlit. She guesses Jules is staying for dinner.

What do you think of the way some of the xv fans handled the verum rex thing? I saw that one blog had kind of called them out and I'm glad about that

Well, as a FFXV fan myself – and one who went through not only KH’s long wait, but also FFXV’s massive wait too – I actually found it rather fun that Nomura was able to slip in something as majestic as the Verum Rex trailer into the game. At first, I was absent-mindedly waiting for the boring intro dialogue to appear in the game to introduce Toy Box, but then I suddenly look up and goes ‘What the fuck? Visual Works?!’ I dropped my phone and burst out laughing because that commercial was so try-hard compared to the rest of the game.

But funnily enough, it didn’t dawn on me the FF Versus XIII comparisons until I came onto Tumblr. Silly to think about, considering that I was there from the very first E3 reveal when Versus XIII was a concept along side Final Fantasy XIII. I ended up looking again and then I began to see the influences of what Versus XIII was in what Verum Rex showcased in that commercial.

Supposedly, it was Nomura’s ‘screw you’ to Square Enix for leaving Versus in developmental hell, and I honestly don’t blame him for that. Nomura’s already been pretty open about how disgruntled he was having to leave the project, but it was for the better, I feel…

I have a more detail explanation below the KEEP READING, since I love rambling more than a monologue Xemnas and Xigbar combined. So kick back with a cold one, and get ready for me rambling. c:

Though a starting statement/summary before you go into this: I like Verum Rex. I like FFXV. I like Kingdom Hearts. I don’t like the ridicule and blame game being put on everyone and anyone.

For me, I don’t feel this is necessarily Nomura lashing out for the sake of lashing out/spite. So FFXV fans being grumpy over the Verum Rex trailers – despite their bitterness over Versus XIII being lost in developmental hell – is kind of not justified, kinda is? Despite it not being an official game, Versus XIII/Verum Rex is technically still Nomura’s ideas and concepts. And I dunno about you, but modifying an old idea and shaping it into a new idea truly isn’t anything unheard of. I know I like to do it myself with OCs, re-purposing them into new stories/concepts if they didn’t have much use before and all. Nomura, I feel, had the right to do so, considering that he was pretty much one of the main honchos to write, design, create Versus XIII before Square executives took the project from him.

Perhaps a rather unpopular opinion overall, but I actually think that it was good that Nomura was taken off the project. And no, I’m not saying Square violating Nomura’s right to his characters and creative ideas was right. What I mean mostly is that with Nomura being taken from Versus XIII/XV to focus on Kingdom Hearts was a good idea. The sheer scale and promise for both games from two of Square’s most massive franchises is overwhelming in general for one person to manage and oversee completely. And despite me respecting Nomura and his ungodly skill at game design and art, it’s alot of pressure over all. Heck, I can barely handle designing the one game I’ve been trying to get together. But he was given two major titles to try creating? That’s alot of pressure overall.

And that’s why the two games took so long to begin with, I feel. Versus/XV and KH3 were both in developmental hell, and – from the gossip I recall – Square Enix didn’t even want to keep pushing on with Final Fantasy Versus/XV. Nomura, as much as he wanted to keep it alive, couldn’t be the one to do it when Kingdom Hearts was a bigger priority to Square.

So that’s where I think Tabata came in. Not to steal Nomura’s thunder or characters or concept, but he stepped in to make sure that the Final Fantasy title people have been waiting for would finally be released. Kingdom Hearts 3 for sure was going to be released, but FFXV could have died six years ago were it not for the hard decision to keep FFXV alive – at the expense of the four years of prior concepts being scrapped.

It sucks when your idea is ultimately discarded for a reason beyond your control – or outside meddling too – so I don’t blame Nomura and his spite. But at the same time, instead of viewing it as nothing more than a revenge trailer/easter egg to get back at Square, I like to imagine it more as Nomura re-channeling ‘old OCs’ and plot points to fit it into something that, you know, actually works for everyone – especially him and the ideas he wanted to bring to life before Square Enix made him focus on one project.

If anything, I feel like Tabata was given the short end of the stick in all of this too. And before you guys get on me for being a Final Fantasy XV apologist or… Whatever the term is… I’m not, by any means, saying that FFXV is a superior game over KH3. I know XV has its flaws and strengths, just as KH3 has flaws and strengths too. But I feel like people don’t give Tabata enough credit for, you know, trying to make what he was given work, so both games wouldn’t have to suffer such insane developmental periods and hells. He was basically thrown into a dying project and was expected to revitalize it with characters that weren’t his, a plot that he didn’t establish entirely himself, and a world that he couldn’t really modify after Square’s notorious habit of releasing trailers way too early for their own good.

If Tabata was allowed to start from scratch with his own timeframe and plot, and give everything that Nomura worked on back to him, you probably would have gotten an amazing game then too – and one that would have annihilated your feels, because Tabata (still not over Type-0 and it’s damn opening…!).

But I feel like regardless of my defense of FFXV, it doesn’t matter. Because regardless of the comparisons between what Versus XIII and FFXV has and what Verum Rex became, it’s not either of them. Verum Rex is Nomura’s idea, just re-purposed because of how passionate the man is for his game. People should be pleased with the fact that instead of one game or the other dying to developmental hell, we were able to get both. And getting Verum Rex – whether as a bonus in Kingdom Hearts or as its own concept in the future – should be a bonus too!

I think the only thing to blame for the conflict overall is Square’s terrible way of over-hyping things to the point of disappointment, and the people that Square, unfortunately, made bitter and saddened with their actions…

ugh this is the most difficult question ive ever been asked in my entire life. I KNOW that this is still in twos but its so hard for me to pick only one so i had to take a lot of time wittling down to which AT LEAST TWO would fit best. heres the absolute essentials, all of these i chose strictly from their playlists still of course, under the cut because it got really long.

exxus / glass animals (spooky? i dont know. vergas’ musical aesthetic is like… weird because it swings violently from like old goth music to absolute bangers to like, weird and of course edgy because He Would. i dont know how i found so much music for him. i promise i have good taste but when you have to put together a playlist for an antagonist… you have to go to terrible places.)

the sticks / mother mother (i think vergas is a lot of awful things put into one person but like a theme thats popped up with him a lot in my little brain is like, singularity… isolation, which i think is a lot more different from loneliness? like i think that reading comes from the fact that vergas is so full of pride and thinks of himself as so above the people hes around that hes in his own metaphorical tower (do you see now… do you get it. the playlist title. were symbolisming) and he absolutely refuses to come down)

Yes! Physically I am a girl!

But I don't like it! Well, I don't like my top half. Bottom half doesn't bother me but god do I want a binder. But how many times do I have to say that I'm non binary before people stop calling me a fucking girl?!

How many damn times do I have to correct people when they use my birth name?! I correct my gran countless times yesterday, SHE EVEN CALLED ME BY MY BIRTH NAME LITERALLY 3 SECONDS AFTER I CORRECTED HER AND DIDN'T EVEN MAKE AN EFFORT TO CORRECT HERSELF!!! AND SHE DONE THAT MULTIPLE TIMES! She has a bad memory, but that bad? Oh hell no!

How many damn times am I going to explain I think more like a guy, I act more like a guy but I still don't feel like a boy or girl!?

And yestarday my gran mentioned my long hair, and my mum mentioned it needs cut (got alot of split ends, havent been able to get it cut in a while. And just generally need it cut, its getting hellishly long. Like half way down my thigh long lol) and then my gran said she wished she had long hair. I turned round confused and said "You had long hair but you cut it?". So my gran and mum started talking between themselves, and for a laugh I turned my dad and just said "Women. What are they like". And my mum fucking turns to me and says "Eh don't forget you are one!" (Or something like that). Me being me replied "Eh im the one that's gonna marry a women, that aint gonna be fun." for a laugh, and then just as I was walking out the door I quickly turned back round and went "And im not one btw!" I didn't catch my mums reaction but somehow I doubt that it was good.

The really annoying part. Just on Wednesday while on video call, they both said they were gonna start trying to call me Kayden, and obviously I was super happy. My mum even messaged me later on Wednesday saying "Hi Kayden, it was nice talking to you earlier." I was totally over the moon happy about it.

Then yesterday. Its like Wednesdays conversation didn't even fucking happen. And im sitting thinking "What kinda bullshit is this?!"

I swear, I think I need to sit down with my mum, gran and dad (they're the only 3 family members I talk to regularly. The only family member who is accepting of it is my aunt.) and just actually discuss with them at some point that I hate being called She/Her and I cannot even put into words how much I hate my birth name. But at the same time if I even suggest that, there's only 2 possible outcomes:

1 - I doubt it would happen. If I suggested something like that honestly I think id just get ignored. Or told something like "That's not necessary, just remind us more often." or maybe even "But we've known you as >birth name< for 15 years, give us time to get use to it."

2 - It happens. But everything I say goes in 1 ear and right out the damn other.

Because my mum and gran just don't understand being nb no matter how many times I try to explain it or just simply say "Im neither! Not a boy! Not a girl! Just neither!" they just don't freaking get it!

And my dad, well the nb thing doesn't bother him. And if it does, he doesn't mention it. But the whole name thing. Uuuuuuugggghhhhhh i will never forget how badly I wanted to hit him with something when I told him. Now he just avoids the topic all together. Goes silent or changes topic when I mention it. Or if i really push the subject he just says something like "We've known you as >birth name< for your whole life." or the first time I mentioned it he said something along the lines of "But that's the name we gave you so you'll always he >birth name< to me" which is the line that made me really want to hit him.

I think my gran thinks im only nb cos I spend so long online! BITCH NO! I ALWAYS THOUGHT I WAS JUST A TOMBOY BECAUSE NO ASSHAT EVER TAUGHT MY THERE WAS MORE THAN JUST BOY, GIRL OR TRANS! THATS ALL IVE EVER KNOWN, NOBODY EVER TOLD ME I COULD BE BOTH OR NEITHER! I ONLY KNOW IM NB BECAUSE I SPEND SO LONG ONLINE AND (if you find the right ones) PEOPLE HERE ARE ACCEPTING AND HELPFUL!!!

I get it'll take time to get use to calling me Kayden. I can accept that. But reality of the situation is, I mentioned this many months ago. And not once has a proper, genuine effort be made.

And I can accept that I'll still get called She/Her alot, because im still physically a girl and look like a girl. Hell I still call myself She/Her alot, so I can accept that mistake a little easier. Doesn't mean im totally comfortable with it, because god am I not, but it is a little harder to get use to especially around people who I don't talk to that much. And my gran finds it stupid to call 1 person by They/Them. And she mocked that before I could even say id rather go by They/Them. So that instantly threw me off even trying to bring that up, because why would I if I know I'll probably just get mocked?

Adfssafsafdsdfshsgajfjd I could ramble on more but The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 is about to come on TV and I wanna watch it.

Wanted to make a seperate post for this, because this stuff will go under a readmore. (damn it got long)

Added my two cents on this post, but here is what I do when I do have the energy leave comments on fics (and some extra thoughts on my kudoses):

Comments

There is such delight when I find a fic that I have to write my thoughts down while reading, because I love to scream my joy @ the author in the comment once I am done with the chapter/fic itself.

And hopefully by the time I reach the end of the chapter I can calm down enough to actually write something coherent aside from screaming and keysmashing.

Some fics get me that excited!

Some fics I had to put down while reading, so I could pace around the room, because the possibilities for where the situation could go are ENDLESS!

Some fics I've put down and picked up MONTHS later, because a chapter was just so good and made me feel SO MUCH, I was unable to read further!

There are fics I forgot about and returned to years later and was DELIGHTED to see them finished or still going (there was this one back on fanfiction.net that I adored with all my heart, and I plan on checking out what happened to it. The author went on a break around the time another fandom took my attention, but the fic was so good I still remember it from time to time. It made my life more than just bearable, it made me laugh to tears at some points. )

When a fic gets me that excited, I noticed I tend to either comment short excited comments before nyooming to the next chapter, or read all of it over a course of a couple of days, gather my thoughts and leave an almost essay long comment, because the whole fic was just so good and I want to say it all in one place!

There were a couple of fics that I actually WANTED to write essays on, because I appreciate the authors writting style so so so much! For some I still do, because holy hell, the writing and characterization is great, while ALSO gives us things canon/source material didn't explore. But, if I do that, I wanna do it good because KUDOS TO THE WRITERS!

There are also fics that have me grinning and commenting on what's happening outloud, but there isn't really that many questions popping up for me.

It's the delighted gasp and a "Bitch, you said WHAT? 8D".

It's the "Ohohohooooo this is going to h u r t".

It's the grimace or a snort of "You fucking bastard, I knew he was planning something."

With fics like that, I can sit still or do something that isn't too demanding attention wise.

It's relaxing. It's nice, it let's my usually very active and overwhelmed brain rest, WHILE ALSO giving me serotonin and the excitement/feels, but on a smaller scale.

With fics like this (especially one shots), I tend to leave shorter comments, because if I want to comment, but don' t have much to say, I'll still comment and tell what the fic made me feel.

"I liked/loved/really enjoyed this fic, it had me experience x"

Because I do like it! And so far almost every fic I read gets atleast one kudos because this stuff is so good and the authors are amazing.

I just don't have much to say at that moment. Or what I want to comment is missing something and feels too flat to me.

If I know I'll want to reread a fic, I usually bookmark it and write down some highlights/what I liked about it/make a comment of its own in the bookmark! Because looking at older bookmarks/bookmarks from a fandom you are no longer involved with can bring back quite the laughter... AND get you back into the fandom even!

Reading fics is supposed to be a thing you enjoy. If you are starting to dread it because you feel obligated to say something, hey.

Take a step back for a while. This kind of fear happened to me at some point when I was younger, especially when I started interacting with active content creators. They appreciate comments and those comments help so much when an obstacle presents itself and it seems like abandoning a story will be it. Comments and encouragment bring back the fire and joy of writing.

There is a comment I have yet to reply to, that's been sitting in my Ao3 inbox for 160 days (ALMOST 6 MONTHS, MOCA, GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER AND REPLY ALREADY!).

It's from an author who really wasn't feeling motivated and the comment brought them such joy and excitement!

Why is it taking me so long to reply?

I never expect/wait for a reply from authors. ESPECIALLY not if it's a fic that's older (there are some amazing fics that were posted in 2013!!! Who knows if the author is still active in the fandom!*), or if it's an ongoing one that gets alot of comments. In the second case, it's because the author is already writing the fic, editing said fic and uploading it, could also be working on a bunch of different fics (because writting inspiration strikes at the weirdest of moments and as someone who has around 4fic ideas happening simultaniously, people who ACTUALLY WRITE THEM? Kudos. You are amazing.), not to mention most fic authors do this in their free time. So there's also their jobs, social circle outside the internet, on the internet and the amount of energy they have for social interaction with strangers online. Who am I to expect a reply to that behemot of a comment I left on their fic? If it made them happy, great! If it made them go "woah, that's alot of words" *shrugs*, eh. I am a rambler, it's what I do, if they like it they like it, if they don't they don't. Not much i can do about that, though I did leave a note on my ao3 profile that they can contact me if long comments/ramblings annoy them, so I can stay off their comment section and scream about my love for their works somewhere else. Noone has asked me to stop as of yet, but I like to offer just in case.

Most of my comments are actually posted as if I was at cafe or a restaurant, and was offered the Book of Complaints, Suggestions and Compliments/Thanks.

Complaints? I don't have complaints to leave, because it's my decision on what content I consume, and if I don't like it, I can always search for something else.

And if I didn't read the tags? Well, that's on me. That's like ordering a new dish when you have a food allergy, not reading the provided and highlighted allergen notes and warning, and then screaming at the staff when your food arrives. It's not THEIR job to know what kind of allergies their customers have. It's the customers.

Suggestions? Is the author asking for those? If not, no suggestions from me! If they do ask, and I don't have an answer I usually take some time to see if I have anything to offer.

Compliments/Thanks. That is the thing I love and what I click the comment box for. If a fic made me FEEL something, I will let the author know.

Do you know how amazing it is to read a fic and sit staring off into space after you finish it because "woah... that. That made me feel so much at once that I can't even name it." ?

When you read a crackfic, and keep snickering and chuckling, before you finally burst out in laughter or wheezing or snorting with tears in the corners of your eyes because "OH THIS GOLD, I haven't laughed like this in a while!" ?

When you read angst that tugs at your heartstrings and causes actual tears to run down your face and feel the anguish the characters feel?

When you read angst, but the story has a happy ending? Any you get to see the characters claw their way towards it, and actually reach it?

When you read hurt/comfort and there is that gentle care and love and safety that makes your heart melt?

When you read a fic that feels like sitting by a window with a cup of warm coffee while relaxing music plays? (this last one is becoming my favourite of them all and is actually the one I struggle to comment on the most.)

There is such a variety of works out there! So many talented and amazing writers, with their AUs and a billion different ways of writing!

3. I am a very forgetful person, who has to check her inbox more often. Plain and simple. Nothing more to it.

4. Some of these authors write back such lovely comments that make me smile everytime I open my inbox. I think I might make a scrapbook of some sort, to keep track of them, because getting the feedback of "HEY YOUR COMMENT MADE ME HAPPY/EXCITED!" or "I really appreciated this comment, thank you." makes me smile. ^u^

Seriously fic authors are amazing, and this is why "Kudos to them." has become a thing I say irl as well, and in any conversation where someone creating a thing is brought up. I may not know or have a strong opinion on the stuff someone enjoys creating, or have nothing to really say, so "Woah, Kudos to them." is my way of saying "I admire their work (but don't have anything else to say about it)."

Learning it means Glory? Hell yes, those works are worthy of praise,and the authors really are glorious.

So here's where that lovely button comes in.

Kudos

I use the kudos button both when I have a comment to write and when I don't. I spam that button when I like something so much words fail me, and I click it when a fic reads like I have just finished a cup of coffee.

If I use the cafe/restaurant thing I talked about before as an example, leaving a kudos, to me, is like giving a smile or replying to the waiter with "It was great." when they asked if you enjoyed it.

I enjoyed it, but I don't have anything else to say.

Maybe it was just an interesting read, even if not to my usual tastes. It might get a kudos.

And if I read something that I thought I would like but it turned out I didn't like it or I felt meh abput it?

Well, *shrugs* well.

I don't have anything nice to say, and I probably won't read stuff from that author. There are others who will and others who will leave a kudos.

I don't think much about it because I read fics for fun.

I ramble about them because I am having fun and finally know I can share my experience with others.

You guys have probably seen the "Holy shit two cakes!" comic, which was originally about how artists/writers feel bad when creating something with a concept that many other more skilled creators used.

I remember that comic at some point also being used to explain that "It really sucks when you bake a cake, but noone wants to eat it."

I can't speak as a writer, because I don't post the fics I daydream about (yet! I don't post them yet!), but here's a little thing my daydreamer self likes to think.

I baked my cake, and I can eat it too, but I hope the cafe I frequent has something similar too.

I wanted to read a fic like this, I made a fic with the idea I wanted, I enjoyed the process and the result, but I sure do hope someone else also makes a similar fic in the future.

I do however mostly daydream my fic ideas. So again. These are just my thoughts on the whole thing that is Comment > Kudos/Like > Reading > Not Reading

I hope you all enjoy part 2! This is gonna be super long omf hfslg i hope you guys are okay with that HAHA

summary: pt 1 you a shy person had become best friends with Park Jihoon from Wanna One!

so like remember when I said that Jihoon was acting weird around you?

this has increased by like 1000000% and you are just super confused because when Jihoon used to be super chill with you guys doing things that couples would do he now got super shy about it and you’re like

ok be that way jihoon

but at the same time he looks really cute when he gets all shy and embarrassed

and when he smiles your heart does leaps as if it’s doing hurdles in the olympics

and then when you both make eye contact you feel yourself just falling more in love with his eyes

and being real you could listen to his laugh for hours on end because its like the best thing to your ears

and when he comforts you or just talks to you in general now you just feel so comfortable

and then when you guys hug you just feel like everything is right in this world and that nothing could go wrong

so now all the while being jihoon’s best friend you are also developing feelings for this jeojang boy and you’re just trying to make sure you don’t mess up your relationship

but your members keep telling you on going for it and ask why jihoon is acting weird.

so one day you and jihoon meet up at a secluded place that you both usually hang out at.

you both are just chilling admiring the view when jihoon clears his throat

“so why did you want to meet up?”

and youre just shot back into reality like lmao you almost forgot that the main reason you wanted you two to hang out was so that you could confess and find out what the heck was up with jihoon

“Jihoon I’m only going to say this one so please be prepared because I’m too shy to say it again.”

You shift yourself to face Jihoon and he does the same. you look at him straight in the eyes but then your conscious is like

“lmao youre too shy to look at him in the eyes”

and you’re only thinking that because he is giving you the softest look you have ever seen and you just want to get this over with so that you both will either start dating (which is preferred) or you both still be best friends

you immediately shut your eyes and your head tilts down as you start rambling

“okay listen here park jihoon you’ve been acting weird lately and honestly I don’t know what’s that about but I’ve been thinking and I’ve realized that i really like you and i actually cannot push the feelings back anymore and also how i feel so comfortable and safe around you like you could be talking about the stupidest things ever and i would just love being with you. I don’t wanna ruin our relationship so if you don’t like me back it’s okay i just wanna know why you’re acting so sus like don’t think that i don’t notice it because we are best friends so i notice like almost everything.”

so you’re still sitting there with your eyes closed and feeling your whole body heat up by itself in the cold because you are very embarrassed and just wanna roll up into a ball and just eat all the ice cream and food and pretend as if life never existed.

but while you’re just kind of suffering on your own wondering if Jihoon is still even there you feel something wrap around your shoulders. you open one of your eyes slightly to see Jihoon still looking at you

you open both of your eyes and see that Jihoon has wrapped his jacket around your shoulders and you put it on fully

“i wasn’t gonna say anything if you were gonna keep your eyes closed.”

he just smiled and you were just left in confusion and slight irritation bc you just rambled out your entire book of feelings on him to him and he’s just there smiling and giving an answer you were not expecting.

“so like is that a yes or a no?”

you give him that look with the one eyebrow raised up and he just laughs and you swear his laugh could cure the world if they listened to it.

but he just casually puts his hands on your cheeks and he comes closer to you which makes your heart race but you’re okay with it because he’s your crush and honestly who wouldn’t want their crush to do this to them?

“Y/N I was acting weird lately because I’ve had feelings for you for a good while now and I was waiting for either you to notice and reject me or you to confess to me.”

he gives the brightest smile while still holding your cheeks and you can swear that your heart is beating at an unhealthy rate while your cheeks are also starting to heat up ALOT

“and since i know you like me now i can do this.”

he comes closer to you and you being the awkward turtle doesn’t know what is going on so you close your eyes again.

but little did you know that when you closed your eyes jihoon softly laughed because he thought you were so cute so he kissed your forehead

he was gonna kiss you but you seemed so shy about it he was gonna save it for later

but now low and behold yall are a couple and honestly it seemed as if both of your managers were chill with it?

like your manager later revealed that the reason they asked was bc if you two weren’t going to realize you liked each other they would help HFDKLHF

but yknow you gotta keep it a secret from the company so the managers always help yall with sneaking off to go on a very very VERY secret date.

dates are usually at the secluded place you guys confessed to each other at or this pet cafe thats at the top of it’s building so no one would see you two even if they wanted to.

also the workers have agreed to keep your relationship a secret because literally you guys used to go there just to hang out and apparently the workers already thought yall were dating? lmao

but now jihoon is even more cheesy like while yall are having dates jihoon will be like

“you during this date is saved in my heart! (jeojang)”

and you’re just like

“jihoon let’s just take a picture to remember im pretty sure there’s other things to remember too”

and when he actually does something super sweet and cheesy you are like

“awe jihoon you’re too sweet im tearing up”

and then he offers to do aegyo and does gugugaga and you’re just like

“moment ruined jihoon pls don’t do that you did it so much on shows alrdy I am immune”

“i HAVE Nothing ElSe Y/N PlS love ME”

“of course i love you jihoon”

and yknow when you are able to sneak to each other’s dorms when everyone else is gone consists of cuddling while watching your favorite shows

or just watching videos and reading things together bc you just enjoy being in each other’s company

but jihoon never fails to try and give you the best he can

“jihoon what is this”

“you don’t want my innisfree poster?”

“i already have five of these at home they gave it to me when I just wanted the face masks”

“are you sure you don’t want my poster?”

“why do i need your poster when i can see you in ReAL LIFe?!”

another case is (this is through text)

you: jihoon aren’t you in la rn

jihoon: yes why

you: why did i receive my favorite food with your name on it pls explain you couldn’t have sent it to me you are in la rn

jihoon: i asked someone at the company to send it to you, you’re starting you comeback promotions soon and I want you to stay healthy and eat a lot!

you: aw jihoon you’re sounding like my mom and that’s what jisung is like towards me but that’s so sweet ily

jihoon: i love you too but i miss you

you: okay i miss you too but i’m trying not to think about it smh

when jihoon comes back from LA you both will probably hug for a long time and the members will be like

“it’s only been two days calm children”

but then jihoon is like

“you just don’t know love yet”

overall jihoon and you would be the cutest couple every where jihoon likes to bluff sometimes and tease you and you just not having it but yall still have fun together just like best friends with all that added cuteness in between!
