It makes me so sad to think of why people hate Satoru so much, because most of the time (apart from Utahime genuinely just hating him ._.) it has to do with his powers and abilities, not with him as a person.

Yes, his birth tipped the scales and caused curses to grow stronger as a reaction, but that wasn’t his fault. Satoru Gojo as a person is not his powers, they’re just a part of him. Unfortunately, that part of him is the most prevalent part that people see and are quick to judge him off of, so in turn, he tends to over identify with it.

Here when he says “I love everyone but at some point there was a line drawn between me being a person and being a creature” that right there shows how detrimental being the wielder of the Six Eyes and Limitless was to him.

We know Satoru is a loving and caring person. He sticks his neck out constantly to protect the youth and innocence of kids so that they don’t suffer like he did when he was a child & teenager. He tries his best to teach them in the most effective ways he believes to work so that they grow strong. He’s even said he’s not suited to teaching but he does it anyway. Hell, he let the person he cares about most run amok for 10 years because he couldn’t kill him. He has a huge, selfless heart.

But all of that gets overshadowed by the fact that this ability that he didn’t choose to have was thrust upon him at birth.

It’s just so sad because people really don’t see him for who he really is, they just see him for what he is. Living up to impossible expectations is so difficult, even for him who had to deal with it to the very end. He’s told his whole life he’s strong, he starts to believe it to the point where he feels slightly inhuman, and it just causes a sort of reckless abandon with the power he was given.

And it just makes me so sad.

Malleus having older sibling trauma. Malleus resenting how Lilia is able to openly express being Silver's parent but had to keep Malleus at arms length because of their roles. Malleus having to know someone who was presumably initially very cold and softened only as he was growing older while Silver had a very openly loving father immediately. Malleus being the child who taught Lilia how to parent and love. Malleus never feeling like Lilia truly loved him after seeing how he was able to love Silver. Malleus loving Silver because they're brothers and at the same time resenting him for having the father he always wanted.

Hey! i’m really into the dbch story and i was wondering if doc and xisuma ever tell bdubs the specifics of why etho lost his memories, cause if they do that is prime self blaming angst for bdubs

I’m inclined to believe they don’t. Actually (and maybe I should do a small comic for this so more people see it) I imagine, once a month or a few pass and they finally return etho to bdubs as reset, I imagine they are VERY serious about warning bdubs not to try to force Etho to re-deviate— they don’t go into specifics, but they probably tell bdubs that whatever happened had to do with something that was emotionally overwhelming, and that forcing him to redeviate/not letting it happen naturally could trigger the same error. They have no idea what could happen so bdubs needs to be very careful and let Etho find himself again on his own.

Whether or not bdubs gets impatient or can only go so long before he doubts it would be that bad if he tried pushing Etho in the right direction is another story.

But yeah. I don’t think Xisuma or Doc really… tell anyone that this happened. Etho’s error seemed like a very specific one-off scenario, so it’s not something the other hermits should be trying to avoid or be careful about happening to their own android friends, and the only thing telling people would do is make them worried about the situation. All they need to know is that etho was broken and that they need to be careful with him. I don’t agree with their decision to keep what happened to themselves but I understand it I think.
