Of course! But I've only started playing enstars a few months ago, so my knowledge of his personality is a bit restricted and I'll be using the wiki... Sorry for being late, my practical exams are around the corner and then my end of semester tests come right after that....

Summary: After growing up as a very sheltered kid in the house of the hearth, you are trying to achieve your dream in Fontaine as a performer. But you have unfortunately managed to gain the interest of many famous figures and obsessive people in Fontaine...

Warning!: Yandere content (Obviously), bullying, ooc, insecurities, fighting, stalking, abuse(?), bad writing, disfiguration?, murder, harassing, taking pictures without consent, physically harming (not to the reader... kinda), manipulation, Fontaine cast girlbossing, gatekeeping, and gaslighting. (If any of those make you uncomfortable please leave.)

{~} So imagine this, you were born in a branch family of a rather noble family from Inazuma. But you were given up to Arlecchino by your parents because the main family isn't really welcoming of an heir of your gender in fear that the branch family will get any power against them. Even though the family was trying to modernize out of such beliefs, the current head of the family still firmly believes in it. So out of concern, your parents hid you for the first five years of your life until they gave you up to the house of the hearth.

{~} There in the orphanage you meet a pair of twins from Fontaine who aspire to be great magician and his assistant, the twins consist of one male and one female who introduced themselves as Lyney and Lynette. They were older than you by a few years and they would also love to put on a show for you! By this point you see them as your older siblings, and they also see you as their adorable younger sibling who has to be protected from the cruel world. But sadly, they go on a lot of missions outside of Snezhnaya... But don't worry, they always think about you during their missions and they bring back souvenirs from their travels!

{~} During your time at the orphanage, you've managed to meet Arlecchino herself. At first she scared you, but you soon warmed up to her! She became your parental figure during your stay at the house of the hearth after an event where she saved when you almost died. But she would never allow you out of the orphanage grounds unlike the other kids at the orphanage. You first thought it was because you were too young, but when you grew up she still didn't allow you to leave whether it's for missions or just walking around. Whenever you asked she would answer by saying, "It's for your safety. The world is a harsh place." or something similar to that...

{~} This made you grow up as a rather sheltered kid compared to most others your age. You learned about the outside world by books, newspapers, and gifts that were brought back by the others in the orphanage. You also have very little knowledge about fashion due to always wearing uniforms provided by the orphanage.

{~} One day, you were introduced to a new addition to the orphanage. He introduced himself as Freminet as he hid behind Arlecchino. She wanted you to welcome him to the orphanage because the two of you are the same age. At first he was rather shy and quiet around others, he still is but now he doesn't run away the moment someone goes near him. You would talk and hang out with him during the first few weeks of his stay, but he would always hide from you...

{~} This one time, you were walking around the orphanage in search of Freminet to play with you as usual. You did manage to find him, but he was surrounded by other kids that were all older than him. From what you heard from afar, they were talking about him. And not the nice type of talking, more like the harassing kind. So as a young kid with a naive mind you went up to the group and confronted them head on.

{~} ... It didn't go well. You ended up fighting with most of the kids while the others ran to find Arlecchino or because they were scared. After Arlecchino came, she sent all the kids (including you) to her office. In the end, after asking the bystanders and witnesses you got off with only a long lecture while most of the other kids got lectured and were given more chores to do. When you left Arlecchino's office, Freminet went over to you and hugged you, thanking you for helping him. Since that incident you and Freminet had gotten closer up to the point he would follow you around like a lost puppy.

{~} On one afternoon, Lyney and Lynette came back from one of their missions. They also brought some souvenirs back from Fontaine for you. Lyney handed you their souvenir, it is a voice recording of a popular idol from Fontaine singing their most popular song. You would love to listen to it and you really treasured it. A few days later, you were playing with the twins and Freminet when you excitedly announced that you want to be an idol or performer when you grow up.

{~} They were very supportive of your dreams, Lyney and Lynette offered to teach you some tricks for when you're performing so you don't get nervous on stage. Lyney had also invited you to come to one of their performances in the future! When you told Arlecchino, she seemed supportive of this idea as well. So after all that, you began practicing with the help of Lyney and Lynette with Freminet and Arlecchino who would occasionally drop by and watch you practice.

{~} When you turned 15, Arlecchino finally gave you your first mission (you kept on begging her) with the twins and Freminet in Fontaine. The mission was rather easy, 'perform a show as your 'debut' as a performer to prepare for future missions', you were still excited nonetheless!

{~} When you, Lyney, Lynette, and Freminet arrived at Fontaine you were in awe by the atmosphere of the said nation. Compared to Snezhnaya, Fontaine was more welcoming and peaceful especially with way less snow and blizzards. Your group split up to find a place to stay, so while Lynette and Freminet search for an inn you and Lyney would go explore together.

{~} After a while, you managed to get separated from Lyney. While searching for him you decided to ask some people nearby. The second you asked they started to give weird looks to you, narrowing their eyes as you spoke. You, who noticed this, started to get more and more nervous. They answered you by saying that they haven't seen Lyney. When you were far enough they started to talk amongst themselves, mainly about you and your weird accent. It wasn't much of a problem for you back at the house of the hearth because of the kids' innocent minds, but now that you're in a whole different nation with a lot of judging people, you start to feel somewhat insecure...

{~} Thankfully, Lyney had found you accompanied by Lynette and Freminet trailing behind him. "Ahah! There you are! We were so worried, where did you go?" He questioned. "Now, now, it was your fault that you two got separated." Lynette commented in a rather harsh tone. "Anyways, we found a suitable inn to stay at." She added.

{~} Although that incident happened a long time ago, you still found their words ingraved in your head. Now ever since you started your 'career' as a performer, people have grown to like your accent. But you still have problems accepting it...

{~} In present times, you are a famous performer in Fontaine and other regions. So it's only natural to have performed in front of many important and known figures from many different nations. But today's performance makes you feel nervous... Why you ask? It's because you're gonna perform for the monsieur Neuvillette and hydro archon herself along with a few more important people! Usually Lyney and Lynette would do these, but it seems that they want you to perform instead....

{~} It went smoothly, as usual. The crowd was cheering, the guests were happy, and you did a job well done! After the show the hydro archon, Furina, had approached you to congrat you on a good show while Neuvillette had given you a nod and a faint smile. You were happy of course, but there was a bad feeling that you couldn't really shake off from them...

{~} During your stay at Fontaine you have met many incredible and nice people! Such as Navia the president of the Spina di Rosula who would always invite you to tea parties with her to talk about your day, Clorinde the hydro archon's personal bodyguard that would help you out with security during your performances, or Chiori the fashion designer from Inazuma who likes to make you dress up from time to time. Over time, you had also managed to get closer to the hydro archon, melusines and Neuvillette. Although being somewhat close with them, you still continue to get a bad feeling from them.

{~} There was a certain incident that had happened a while back where during one of your shows a person from your audience made a remark on how you have a strong accent and how it ruined the whole performance. When you went to talk to the people who said that earlier it is as if they just went POOF! Cause it was like they just... vanished... Until a few days later where their bodies were found, looking so disfigured that they could only be identified by their outfit.

(TIMESKIP TO AFTER THE ARCHON QUEST CAUSE I'M STARTING TO GET LAZY)

{~} Over time you have managed to see the fountain cast as your 'found family' and they seem to see you in the same light! But day by day the amount of missing people cases has increased up to the point your 'family' starts talking about how dangerous it is and how you should just stay with them for the time being.

{~} Maybe they are right. You shouldn't worry much about people whom you barely know and spend time with your friends and 'family' instead! Things have been going great, the culprit is almost found and you get to spend time with the people you love without being worried. Isn't that just nice? Well... that is until a renowned detective from Inazuma comes to help in the case...

since I started liking/posting stuff related to the funny boomer Minecraft Youtubers playing an improv death game, I'm probably gonna post more opinion or lore posts occasionally when I have time; the Life Series is like one of my pet obsessions I circle back to every time a new season comes up like most people.

(to my friends/other followers who have no idea what I'm talking about, I'm sorry)

I don't usually watch the main Hermitcraft/other SMP videos because they aren't my thing compared to the Life Series SMPs, but I do enjoy what the creators put out and they all deserve lots of praise for the hard work they've put in (especially after a lot of unwarranted criticism lately over Secret Life + Hermitcraft Season 9)

and now for a scorching hot take that will disappoint a lot of fans

I really like the Desert Duo...but only platonically, and lemme tell you "platonic" and "Hermitcraft/Life Series fanart" go together about as well as water and oil

I'm already not a fan of shipping in general as a personal taste, but when it comes to shipping real content creators, my discomfort is doubled. If you ship them I'm not gonna hate on you or ask you to stop, you're free to do as you like and I'm not the internet police.

That being said, Grian and Scar are super close friends iRL (if you include Mumbo, I consider them a "DO NOT SEPARATE" trio) and it's honestly really heartwarming to see them in other series just goofing around and even doing RL meet-ups (mostly Grian/Mumbo). To me I've always loved seeing really close friendships like these, and I will try to refrain from snarking about how people on the internet are really bad at distinguishing Philia love (friendship, really deep friendship) from Eros (romantic love).

The point is, I kinda feel uncomfortable when I see shipping of them cuz it feels like willfully misinterpreting the bond of actual real people. I know a lot of people say "separate the CCs from their personas in the series/lore," and I understand why, but the whole practice doesn't sit well with me. It almost feels like instead of creating something actually derivative of the real people, it's like smooching two dolls that just happen to be labelled "Grian" and "Scar". And as a writer myself for other things, I really like to pay respect to the subject matter I'm writing about, and that includes real people. And considering Grian iRL is a straight married man who's said before he doesn't really like the shipping (Scar to my knowledge has not given his opinion on it), it feels even more uncomfy to me when people try to ship him with one of his actual close best friends.

Yes in a way the real people are separate from the personas they put in Hermitcraft or the Life Series. They're like actors, doing it for the job and the sake of us the audience. (Considering I'm a big fan of Vtubers, I'm very acquainted with this paradox) Even still I can't help but always be cognizant of how they're still real people trying to put out their heart and soul to the public, and we enjoy what they do with deep respect for what they're doing. Shipping, especially if they've voiced their disapproval for it (even though they haven't banned it), feels just a tinge not respecting them as actual people, and feels a bit parasocial-y.

But again these are just my personal feelings, this is NOT a hate/call-out post to anyone in the fandom or demanding anyone to stop shipping the hermits. That being said you're likely to not get any out of me for the reasons I've stated above.

and a side note to talk about lore specifically, I just think platonic Desert Duo (for the Life Series specifically) is even more interesting than taking the romantic lens, because we can still have the angst and the doomed narrative and the unsaid trust between Grian and Scar, and still be able to celebrate each of them individually as respective players/creators, without having to make every achievement they make be about 'oooo because fate'

I haven't seen anyone yet posit the theory that (CHARACTER) Grian has distanced himself from (CHARACTER) Scar not because of just trauma but also that Grian thinks Scar is perfectly capable of holding on his own (shenanigans and carelessness aside). Like he's known Scar long enough to trust that he can survive on his own, and thinks that they should try to not hold each other back, and depending on who you ask this was either a really good or REALLY REALLY BAD CALL in Secret Life (because Scar did win on his own merits, but was left all alone)

If he's having personal trouble he definitely asks you about it first. You almost always have some words of wisdom that can help him sort it out.

And when you two get close he will ask to pet your tails and/or lay on them while you tell him about things please please let him lay on your tails-

So when you two meet you both click and clash at the same time.

He's outgoing and charming, you're calm and wise. You're both social people, but in opposing ways.

Your friendship starts with him being the most talkative and you just listening.

Eventually, you'll start responding with words that hold more weight. You go from simple, "Mhm"'s to actual responses.

You two could go on for hours about the same topic.

He kind of needs you to keep him in check sometimes.

He also asks you to help him when he's having internet arguments in YouTube comments sections.

Probably asks if he can dye your tails with cool (temporary) colors and style you in outfits.

Since you've told him how much you enjoy seeing his new intentions, he shows you all his new ideas and concepts. You're usually the first to see a blueprint.

Sometimes you can offer some advice as well.

"Maybe you could cover up that part with a detachable metal rim, to reduce the possibility of damage while still giving room to be fixed if it happens?"

He'll ask to study your ears and hearing compared to other foxes, to turtles, and to humans. Tries to make a high-def microphone with what he gathered from the experiments.

It's up to interpretation if he succeeds ;)

Since you have so many tails, he can make attachments for them.

He will ramble for so long about his ideas, all while you sit and listen with a smile.

I feel like he would stare at your tails all day

And you definitely pick up on it so you come upfront and just ask him

"Do you want to touch them?"

He does.

When you two are alone he will just sit there and brush your tails or run his fingers through them (if you're okay with it).

I think that, much like Leo, you would serve as a level headed/grounding person for him.

He would give you final say before he makes any rash decision.

"Can I fight them?"

Definitely listens. Would not fight if you said no.

Yeah, Donnie said no, too, but Donnie is his brother! He doesn't have to listen to him!

My Opinions on the designs for the fearsome four in Ducktales 2017!

Cause I have nothing better to do with my life on a weekend.

I think these aren't the most ✨ORIGINAL✨ opinions on the 2017 designs for the fearsome four in the "Let's get dangerous" episode. But I'll do it anyways. (Cause Darkwing has my brain 24/7)

Friendly reminder: this is just my opinion and you're 100% allowed to disagree and tell me what you think, what you agree and what you disagree with and tell me your own opinion on them! With that being said. I'll start my crazy ramblings.

While Quackerjack and Megavolt didn't change at all (honestly, they look amazing in the Ducktales 2017 art style) I love how well they fit in with the art style of the show and how good they look. Again, they may not have changed anything. But I love them anyways.

Quackerjack

I like Quackerjack's now EXPRESSIVE eyebrows and the fact I can finally tell where his face is in the mask. His eyes used to be really close to each other, I have a hard time drawing his face sometimes and how to shape it, when I use the 2017 design for reference it actually gets easier.

And please.

The sparkle of joy someone could get by seeing Michael bell reprise his role as the insane and extremely hilarious quackerjack. The mix of 2D with 3D looked so nice and honestly I just genuinely love Quackerjack's insane laughs

I just have a liking for insane characters and jesters in general. It's a habit lol

MegaVolt.

When you hear his voice, you can tell that it's not Megavolt's original voice actor doing his voice, but the new one did an amazing job voicing him.

I kinda wish we get to see more of him. As I really like MegaVolt as a character in the original show, as he is really relatable (haha, laugh at the dude that relates to villains.) and how fun he was with how PARANOID he can be when being around water (imagine the heart attack he had when meeting Liquidator for the first time lol they would have had an interesting dynamic if they had the chance to interact more.) out of all the characters, he surely had too little screentime in let's get dangerous alongside Bushroot. But they had to do so much in only less than an hour, so I completely get it.

Sorry I don't have much to say about Quackerjack and Megavolt, they just didn't change that much compared to the other two... Speaking of them.

Bushroot.

They did an amazing job giving Bushroot that Zombie like design, as well as making him a silent villain in respect of his voice actor, who sadly passed away. (Huge respect for that.)

I love the colour pallete used for him here, as now a zombie, his colour pallete is more "faded away" compared to the vivid colours in his original design and I honestly like it! I like it a lot! It's a interesting change of character for Bushroot that I genuinely like, but sadly, not explored that much.

I honestly love this design and I can easily see the different outcomes the Bushroot centered episodes would have taken with Bushroot looking like this. (Especially beauty and the beet. Rhonda's reaction would have been completely different towards Reginald after becoming the plant zombie) Comparing that to original Bushroot, you can see that it is a bit of an improvement, plus the characterization would be completely different.

(am I the only one who gets weirded out when people portray 1991 Bushroot as a twink who can't do anything for himself? (Especially in the Liquiroot ship... Or any Bushroot ship in general, some of y'all take the bottom and top a bit too far. Jesus Christ.) Y'all know that every villain (Bushroot included) almost killed Gosalyn multiple times, right? He ain't a little weakling, he just doesn't know how to use his own powers properly, also Bushroot and the fearsome four tried to man-up and kill "Negaduck" in "just us justice ducks", friendly reminder on that.)

In the original show, Bushroot had moments where he had a lot of confidence in doing his "evil" stuff, I say evil like that, cause Bushroot had potential to be redeemed and that would have been a good concept if it was explored and if it was explored correctly. I think this version of Bushroot just... doesn't seem to have the same possibility, I think he is just a zombie with little to no emotions now, which HONESTLY would have been fun to see how he would have interacted with the rest of other menbers of the fearsome four. Kinda sad we didn't saw much of him in the episode. But again, so much in only less than an hour. It's completely understandable why his screentime was limited.

Now. My boy.

Liquidator...

Oh boy. I'm surely going to get murked for this.

But I hate this design so badly. Don't get me wrong. Y'all can enjoy your buff water guy all you want, he's all yours (I see you people 🫵👁️_👁️) but the way they just... MADE HIM BUFF feels so weird to me.

I get it that cause he is a DOG made of WATER and sometimes dogs in media are portrayed as buff characters with a few exceptions like goofy and Max (and a some background characters in Darkwing and ducktales 2017) and when you combine that with the fact that he can shapeshift his body at will, you could eventually come up with this. I see what they were going with it but the thing is. Wasn't his whole deal is that he was just a water salesman?

When you compare how he looks in the reboot to how he looks the original, you will see the noticeable difference between the two. Sure, you can use the "he can shapeshift his body at will" thing as a reason to why he looks lik that, but I simply cannot see a reason on to WHY he would do that. I do like the tail they gave him in the reboot tho, that was kinda missing on his design lol. And I'll be honest, seeing how people used to go. "NO! 1991 LIQUIDATOR BETTER!" "NO! 2017 LIQUIDATOR BETTER!" Back then And some still do till this day. Was kinda funny to me, especially when both still deal with the same issue. No personality outside being a salesman. Just like in the original show, all liquidator does is... Stand there and talk, especially talk in slogans. As he was a salesman always trying to sell his water. A sad reminder that not even the comics did him some justice, they did him dirty. (And I say this as liquidator fan who BEGS for more fan-content about him.) some people forget that he went from a serious salesman to a... SURPRISINGLY funny and cheerful villain, he always talks like he is in a commercial and he was so hilarious to me. Now he got turned into a (kinda) serious buff guy with the element of being a salesman in him. I hate the fact that we never got to see how exactly his dynamic with Bushroot would have been because, unlike Megavolt and Quackerjack, they never got episodes that focused on the two, all the episodes where they appeared and talked to each other had Quackerjack and Megavolt with them. And in let's get dangerous. He still lacked proper screentime and personality but again, the reason for that is the "too much in little time with a lot to focus on."

We had the plot with Gosalyn's missing Grandpa and interdimentional portal, The boys and Scrooge finding out about F.O.W.L AND the plot with the villains. All of that IN LESS THAN AN HOUR. There was too much going on and the fact that the show got cancelled, so they couldn't do much for the fearsome four (plus the deleted scene with Jim Starling/Negaduck) but I'm happy the fearsome four got to appear. As they are my favourite super villain team to exist.

Now a question at the end, how tall do you guys make the fearsome four be in YOUR HeadCanons? Again. HeadCanons. Everyone has different opinions and that's completely fine. As long as they're not problematic.

From tallest to shortest, my HeadCanon heights for them are:

Bushroot being the tallest, as he is now a tree. Literally. Quackerjack and Liquidator being the same height. With liquidator being slightly shorter. And lastly, Megavolt. The shorty.

In the original Darkwing duck show, their heights were the most inconsistent mystery there qas, as I pointed out in this post I made about the inconsistencies. So for my upcoming designs, I decided to give them consistent heights. (And yes, Megavolt is taller than Negaduck, obviously.)

And I won't take the heights in the Ducktales reboot because this is more of my own Darkwing duck AU heights i'm talking about, and again, I don't like 2017 liquidator. So let me know yours.

Season 7 Volume I Thoughts

Okay, initial thoughts... meh. It's okay - the dialogue is half-decent, it seems to be mostly fresh and enjoyable, and the characters are showing their personalities. But I'm also far, far from being blown away.

Most of the guys bore me, but Joyo's the most attractive to me and his personality hasn't turned me off, so he's my guy for the time being

I'm not vibing with any of the girls as friends and actively dislike Summer and kinda Bonnie too. Uma might be okay but as we've all said, she looks like she's holding it in

There was opportunity here with the CA concept to do something fresh and interesting but so far it's the same old, except that there's no official recoupling yet. How cool would it have been to do the "Casa girl walk" like on the show where the girls all strut down the drive together and the guys freak out when they arrive? Instead we just meet the new girls, then meet the boys, then it's the same old thing. Yawn

WHERE'S CASSIUS?!?! Obvs we didn't get a preview for him so we weren't expecting him but are we really expected to believe that it's just all the OG people in the villa? Also how much time has passed, because we got a little story about the first couple days and then just "but that feels like forever ago." WHAT'S HAPPENED SINCE THEN?!!? WHY/HOW DID CASSIUS GET DUMPED, ESPECIALLY WHEN ESTELLE AND ALEX HAVE NO CHEMISTRY?!?!

For the Limbus Fans:

The general knowledge you need to know is that Azur Lane is a kinda-sorta alternate history take where all ww2 ships (+ some ww1 and golden age of piracy ships) are ladies known as Shipgirls and have the ability to summon a thing called Rigging (imagine E.G.O. but its all specifically relegated to bigass canons and airstrike squads) and use that to fight evil magic(?) robots called the Sirens who can practically bend reality and terrorize the seas (and, by extension, humans) for some reason or the other*

(*we know the reason, kinda)

For the crossover specific stuff, it goes in the general direction of an AL collab event: Basically, Siren shenanigans happen, causing the collab characters to appear into a special Mirror Sea (closest thing I can compare it to is a mirror dungeon).

Collab characters then meet up with the Shipgirl group and travel around the Mirror Sea, beating up Siren goons along the way as they try to find a way out.

They eventually meet the 'boss' of the Mirror Sea (usually one of the Sirens' insane collab concoctions) and beat it up, then proceed to take the conveniently placed exit (this has been commented on in the latest collab) out of the Mirror Sea and head back to port with new friends in tow

This is followed by lighthearted shenanigans on port, ranging from beach shenanigans (most common) to interactions with like minded characters

For Azur Lane fans:

The basic premise for Limbus is "12 idiots + clockhead babysitter go on a roadtrip to relive trauma and raid the SCP foundation" which takes place in a dystopian city (creatively named The City) that does not care for human life and will put them through torturous amounts of suffering for profit and technology

In the wake of the latest episode, the aforementioned roadtrip takes us to the sea, which is an experience and a half that I won't spoil because hOLY shit it's really fucking good

What I can (and will) tell you though is how exactly the sea works in the game: basically, imagine Operation Siren, but at seemingly random times of the day, random sectors' corrosion levels will suddenly spike up and have lv. 200 fleets with several Enforcers (and maybe an Arbiter) running around for a few hours or so

Now throw in a couple of Dei X's from Fool's Scales into those afflicted zones.

Yeah. That's how The City's sea works.

(Honestly I don't have much to say here mainly due to how Limbus is the secondary game/media in this crossover but now you know)

I need to re-watch the scene for exact details, but I've been thinking all day about Nate's failed Diamond Dogs attempt and why it crashed and burned so hard. I mean, the obvious takeaway is that there is none of the love and support from which to build that kind of group at West Ham. As Beard lays out for Trent in the same episode, they're laying bare their innermost thoughts, feelings, and experiences. If you don't trust the people in the room (which Nate has no reason to yet - it strikes me that they're left in this awkward silence while waiting to officially begin, rather than the casual camaraderie we see in Ted's office) and if there's no respect (which there isn't, particularly between Rupert and Nate: Nate is catching on to all of Rupert's manipulations - what name to call him, cheating with his secretary, etc. - and Rupert just straight up refuses to see him as a person) then of course the core foundation of what the group is built on will crumble.

However, beyond that I also think intention is important too. The original Diamond Dogs forms because Ted needs advice about sleeping with Sassy. He makes himself vulnerable to the very group he's forming as a way of modeling what the Diamond Dogs are all about. In contrast, Nate's first meeting feels more like an excuse to brag. Yes, he does have a similar problem to unpack, namely the question of how he should navigate this relationship, but that felt secondary to me, with the excuse to tell these top dog (pardon the pun) men that he's finally landed a maybe girlfriend forefronting his motivations. Remember, Rupert was meant to be in the room and Nate makes it clear that this meeting is not really about the group helping each other, it's about them paying attention to his partial success/continued worries. The fact that the other guy (I don't even know his name, which speaks to the lack of bonds in this room) wants to talk about taking care of his ailing parents but Nate shuts him down kinda says it all. Compare that to Beard graciously telling Ted that he has the floor and then, once Ted is done, he asks if anyone else has a problem to unpack, including Roy. Nate's Diamond Dogs, beyond lacking the relationships necessary to work in the first place, feels like it's built on his own, stubborn self-interest; it was an attempted replacement for Rupert/formerly the social media/formerly Ted. What outside force is building up my self-confidence nowadays, especially when Richmond is on a winning streak? Nothing except a maybe girlfriend! Let's try to create a new source of validation.

Nate has undoubtedly improved a great deal throughout this season. I actually thought at first that he was improving too quickly and with, to my mind, no narrative explanation. It was only when I saw other fans pointing out the power of getting distance from those who have enacted real and perceived harm (AKA the club and Ted) that Nate's kinda-offscreen growth made a bit more sense to me. However, now I'm actually glad to see him failing in these ways. Trying to talk to Ted after the game, spotting Rupert's manipulation, fluff family time that makes no mention of his father's expectations, a perfect end to his terrible date, not caring that his box got crushed, not spitting in the mirror... it felt like the show was absolutely speed-running Nate's redemption arc because it's the last season, rather than allowing him to organically struggle with these issues and face on-screen events that act as a catalyst for his growth. To say nothing of how the show argues very strongly that growth has to be modeled/supported for an extended period of time... and Nate is without both this season, yet still seems to 'magically' be improving. Given where we left him, I kinda feel like I'm watching an alcoholic suddenly overcome their addiction while working in a brewery. Yeah, of course that's possible... but I very much expected this to happen in a different environment, or at least with far, FAR more support. So now, despite only having three episodes left, I'm reassured by the backslide. Nate refuses to wave to Ted in front of the crowd. He's still trying to suck up to Rupert, both over text and in person. He forms a group that, although oh-so-obviously modeled after Ted's, is really just a Nate the Great show. It feels like the show remembers that he has too much to work on to 'fix' it all with a girlfriend storyline. Nate is a very complicated character who needs a great deal of screen-time to come back from where we left him last season; frankly, more screen-time than he can feasibly get with just a few episodes left and a cast this large. Despite the potential pitfalls of that though, I think it's good that the season is reintroducing some of that complexity. Nate isn't just on a winning streak of his own with soft looks cast towards Richmond photos and an adoring girl in his bed. That need for external validation is still very much there and he's never going to fully come into himself until he realizes what the himbo boys did this season: Belief isn't a sign up on the wall, or a kind coach, or a girlfriend, or a Diamond Dogs group. Those all help support you, yes, but ultimately it has to come from within.

i just noticed something regarding Pen. A jacuzzi is listed as a liked gift for him however you only get the recipe for that during the "duvos attacks" mission. Where he is already revealed to be a bad guy. Why would an item that you can only get after the reveal be coded as a liked gift for him? Maybe it is just an oversight but wouldn't it have been easier for pathea to not have him react to it at all if he was going to permanently leave the game?

I don't think it's an oversight just because the Jacuzzi is also listed as a liked gift for both Matilda and Yan. Unless the devs added it in as some kind of joke (god, i hope not) chances are it means we'll be able to interact with them in town at some point. Whether that means they'll be getting redemption arcs or are going to stay in town is up in the air atm.

Okay so I kind of went a bit off topic so I'm putting a readmore right here. I'm mainly talking about what I've heard with regards to future redemption arcs for certain characters and how one of the devs compared handling Pen's story in relation to Aadit's that's a little confusing. I've been wanting to talk about Aadit for a while and bring some of what's been said on Discord here to tumblr because I feel a lot of stuff gets lost on Discord, and if you're not familiar with it it can be a bit daunting. Anyway, back to where I left off....

Like, I've heard in passing Matilda will be getting one, but idk if that's speculation or if a dev has stated that somewhere. I personally recall a dev mentioning that Yan would recognize his mistakes and come to turning over a new leaf, but I don't have a source for this atm so don't take my word on it. The most I've seen any of them said about Pen has been this:

The wording here is kind of confusing because Zede is comparing Pen's story to Aadit's, which has notoriously been left open-ended and on a cliffhanger, and has been something people have complained about in various corners of the internet (including the Pathea Discord server). So this isn't exactly comforting to hear about how Pen's story is going to end.

But I think what Zede was trying to say is that they have a plan to conclude Aadit's story in a satisfactory manner, and that the player will be satisfied with how they conclude it (and similarly for Pen). Because the alternative implies they don't know about the criticism about Aadit's story in Portia, which is unlikely just based on this interaction:

This needs to be pointed out because if this is what Zede meant by that, it implies that they already have plans to take Aadit's story somewhere.

I've been wondering for a while now if Aadit will get a cameo at some point in the series because they specifically answered a question about him on their Kickstarter FAQ stating that they're still interested in working on his story:

It also bears mentioning that Zede posted all of these comments in Sandrock-related channels. So I'm kinda inclined to think Aadit will make an appearance in Sandrock, but I'm not entirely sold on it just because of the timeline.

Sandrock takes place a bit before the events in MTAP. The timelines between the games match up when Albert and Mint visit Sandrock to help with the plans for the tunnel between Sandrock and Portia. And Aadit leaves Portia after the tunnel is complete. So it's entirely possible that when he leaves, he makes a stop in Sandrock.

The problem I have with this is that he leaves pretty late in the game. I don't quite remember exactly when because I played Portia several months ago and can't quite remember at what point he really left. So I'm not sure if the timelines meet well enough for it to logistically make sense for Aadit to make a guest appearance in Sandrock.

That said, it's entirely possible that he could end up making an appearance in Project ME considering the launch trailer shows us glimpses of Logan and Avery.

Anyway, I'm hoping that's what Zede meant regarding the comparison between Aadit's story and Pen's. So far I haven't really been able to find anything to really put anyone's mind at rest regarding how Pen's story will be handled further down, and Zede's comment is the only thing I've come across that indicates the devs are taking player feedback into consideration and have some sort of gameplan.

I juuuuuust woke up and probably gonna go back to sleep but literally right before I properly woke up- like I was in that state where I was aware that I was awake but also not fully awake, you know- I thought about Wayne and Hugh. Like a mini dream sequence between these two. It was during B2W2, and it was at some point where Wayne got outed for being an ex-team plasma grunt. Naturally, Hugh is pissed since he still hasn't forgiven any parts of team plasma at all. And given the fact that one of his friends who he trusts used to be one honestly shatters in. He's hurt, but this is also Hugh,so he latches onto his anger and intensifies it.

Going back to the scene before I properly woke up, I remember Hugh getting a bit physical with Wayne, grabbing Wayne by the shirt and yelling at him, accusing him of secretly helping neo team plasma, or something horrible like that. And poor Wayne, who's scared and shaking, ends up saying something that would just piss Hugh off more: why can't you just let it go?

It's very lucky that Eva was there to break them just after that happened ( Wayne ran away immediately because why wouldn't he, he was being yelled at and was the receiving end of Hugh's anger AND was outed for being an ex team plasma grunt, the poor kid spiraling). Both fit Wayne's sake ( as I described before)and Hugh's, as Eva knows that Hugh was going to do something he would regret later. Though in the moment, Hugh is still pissed and confused as to why Eva was even protecting Wayne. This is where the "dream" stopped and I was aware I was awake.

Now this isn't exactly new to me- the sequence that I just described. It's been part of my vision for Legendverse B2W2 for like. A long while now. But I was thinking about it, probably because of chuggaconroy doing a let's play or b2w2 now. He was going to explain why Hugh didn't exactly hit as a rival for him until he reaches a scene where he kinda stops and thinks about Hugh's character, in which he realizes the depth that he has, which boosts his opinion of him. One thing that he did mention was how Hugh's parents talked about him to the player. His mom wanted the player to look out for him, in case he strays from the wrong path. And his dad literally did not want Hugh to go on a journey because he knew, they both knew, that Hugh has pent up rage that could be incredibly harmful not only to others but to himself. And I was thinking about that last part and like: yeah. Yeah they have a good reason to be worried. Especially with an oc who used to be affiliated with the people he hates the most outside himself. It's why the scene that I described happened.

Cause if there's one thing you should know about Legendverse! Hugh is the oldest of the trio. Hugh is 16 ( might change might not) Eva is 15 and Wayne is the youngest at 14. And as the oldest, and also simply by his nature, Hugh automatically viewed Wayne as someone who he can protect. Obviously, he still holds Wayne up to someone who has his back and he has Wayne's, but it's a lesser degree compared to Hugh and Eva, who knew eachother way longer. Still, for the most part up until that moment where Wayne got outed, Hugh has been nothing but kind, if a little intense, towards Wayne. Hugh considered Wayne a friend. And then all of that is the window when the revelation happens. Like it's so interesting to me. Like, yes, Wayne asking Hugh to let it go was not okay. But in his defense, the boy was scared and shaking and being yelled at ( which probably unlocked some unwanted memories) obviously wasn't thinking properly. And neither was Hugh cause again, he was going to get physical with Wayne even before Wayne said that. Like I don't know how to properly convey my words here, but you gotta understand how much this means to me. How this dynamic and this scene fascinates me.

Before I go, some context: the scene I described was in Nimbasa City, so before Hugh meets to other ex-team plasma grunts, which really kick-starts his development. And some context for Wayne: despite being an ex-team plasma grunt, he does not associate himself with the grunts in driftviel city. At all. He is actively trying to separate himself from Team Plasma in its entirety, which is hard cause he actually lives in driftviel city and the ex team plasma members are kinda his neighbors. Anyway, it's why Wayne, in his panic, asked Hugh why can't he just let it go, since it's something he's been trying to do since he was taken in by Clay. Though I would argue that Wayne hasn't let go at all either. He hasn't actually confronted his past, only assuming himself to be an awful villain.

One last tidbit, both Wayne and Hugh latch onto a certain emotion that kinda consumes them. For Hugh it's anger( out of guilt and self-hatred) and for Wayne it's fear ( out of guilt and self hatred).

this was an odd chapter. sometimes (like with the flying star convo) i have an idea that i know is weighty enough to support an entire chapter. but sometimes i feel like i have a gap. like... ok, i know i have that skyler&marie&blanca convo coming, but i also know i want that to happen NEXT chapter, so now i need to fill this space.

and it ended up as this odd little thematic musings type chapter. but i like how it turned out! it felt important to spend a little bit of time thinking about what 'home' might mean to kim wexler (especially if, yknow, a real home is something we want her to end up finding by the end of this fic, right?)

Kim doesn’t look at the houses. Not the one on the corner with the white rocking chair on the white porch.

i have a (maybe silly) thing where i don't like putting dates/etc as headers above flashbacks. it feels fitting for a show that never puts them on the screen! and i love the challenge of trying to include that information in other ways.

But the houses want her to look at them. The letterboxes wave to her with flags and the letterboxes have people’s names on them.

shoutout to the NEW 2022 STREETVIEW IMAGERY OF RED CLOUD NEBRASKA (sadly still only 2 major streets but) that gave me this entire houses-as-people idea because i saw the names on the letterboxes.

She learned in school that a long time ago this whole town was underwater.

me googling this and frantically hoping it was true! this, specifically, is what that second page of east of eden inspired with the description of the salinas valley once being an inlet from the coast and before that a forest: "And it seemed to me sometimes at night that I could feel both the sea and the redwood forest before it."

and god the idea of feeling the sea beneath you at night felt SO screamingly kim wexler to me.

also--ahhhhh finally braving the idea of meeting kim's dad! now that rhea's talked about her ideas for him i wanted to see if i could balance that with stuff i'd folded in

i'm not particularly in love with the "jimmy is just her dad all over again" take as a full explanation of him (imo, kinda boring!) but i did want to thread a bit of that in. hopefully in a less 1:1 way and just like... there are things that made kim feel warm and comfortable and loved as a kid. and when she later finds some of those qualities in jimmy, they bring similar feelings. her dad remembers the names of these teachers and classmates of hers even though (in my mind) it has been quite a long time since he was last here.

but i always had the idea that kim got her silence and her stillness from her dad, so that's in here, too.

and then similarly in safs i had this idea of like... kim positioning herself as the angry one in her childhood. i felt like it was more interesting to show this comparatively happy scene and just try to sow it with some kind of edge/disquiet and the seeds that might lead to that anger.

Kim watches him and he watches the movie, and he’s not moving at all anymore. His face is still and calm and she doesn’t know what’s behind it.

i feel like the heartbreaking thing is like.... eventually kim is right about this. maybe it's this time. but i think she's almost thought it any time she's seen him that she's old enough to remember. like :( honey

she had to grow up so fast, she’d be such a different person compared to the girl she was before she left winterfell the first time. you’d understand that, and she’d know that it didn’t bother you. shed have a much sharper tongue, able to stand up for you or correct a situation if she needed to. she’d seek you out during the day, wanting to sit with you while you read or did your art. she’s quite the artist too, making her own clothes. you could sit together and work on your projects, either helping each other with them, or just being content enough to work in peace next to each other.

maybe one day, she’d be sitting with you, telling you about home. somehow, you’d get to the topic of sweets.

“lemon cakes are my favorite. i miss the way the cooks made them when i was young.”

you’d pretend to like cake, and she’d be absolutely appalled once she found out you don’t actually like it.

You've become very good friends with Vidas since you arrived in Eonia. A habit of yours was to at least spend a day together per week, walking around and admiring the scenery.

There was still so much for you to see, and Vidas offered to be your guide. They had a lot of knowledge about well... everything. But you also got to know their true self. You felt accomplished with that alone, since you noticed they weren't open with just everyone.

The two of you spoke a lot, your arm hooked through theirs. Sometimes you ran into the members of the pantheon, but most of the time it was the two of you.

That day started like the others, with the two of you meeting up and starting out with a new area for the two of you to explore

He asked about how you were adapting to your new lifestyle. You admitted that it was lovely, but you couldn't help but feel below par when compared to all the other deities around you.

You apologized quickly, you didn't mean to ruin the mood. But you couldn't help but feel slightly bummed out.

Vidas took a seat next to you. "It's only natural." They said, "You've found yourself quite suddenly in a new situation with people you don't know... I went through something similar."

You couldn't help but feel surprised, not because they admitted to feeling lesser than the gods that surrounded them, but because they were opening up to you.

"When I first arrived, it felt as though I was in the background, and that people only came to me for my knowledge instead of... well, for me." They explained, "For a long time, all I had was Eeri. Sometimes, things need to sort themselves out on their own."

They turned to you quite suddenly, grasping your hands in theirs. "But remember, MC, you've won the hearts of everyone you've met here. You are a fantastic being. It might just take a while for you to see what everyone else sees."

You were taken aback by their sincerity and thanked them. And the two of you continued on your journey. the two of your made your way to a hill with a view of the night sky.

Stargazing with the deity of intellect was interesting. They could point out any constellation and tell you the history, passion twinkling in their eyes when they spoke. You were lost in their voice, curled up close to their chest.

Vidas was more open to the idea of cuddling than you thought they would be. You just kinda snuggled up to their side and they held you close without questioning you.

Suddenly, as they were explaining the history of Orion, you suddenly sat up and confessed your feelings. You weren't sure about what pushed you to do that, but it happened, and you sat there awkwardly waiting for an answer.

They gawked at you for a moment, and you were suddenly afraid that you tarnished your whole relationship, until they admitted that they felt the same way

Your first kiss was under the stars, and the two of you had frequent dates at that spot, where you would watch the sunset and stargaze the night away :)

so I've got this new character over on another weird niche part of tumblr, and I don't know if she'll ever make an appearance here but she's been pretty much my whole brain lately so I'm gonna answer these for her! we'll call her V here for now

as for an established character: V's backstory has a lot of elements I took from Llewellyn's, so I'll answer for him as well and see how they compare

answers under the cut for length.

4) Do they want to be taken care of? Do they enjoy physical contact or are they rather withdrawn?

V absolutely wants to be taken care of. One of the main things I borrowed from Lew for her is that her rich parents basically left her to be raised by staff, which meant most of her needs in childhood were taken care of in a detached, professional way, and in high school she kind of ended up being the momfriend herself, which was rough on her for a number of reasons. In college she discovered the joy of being Just Baby. She literally fell for the girl who took care of her through all her wild-ass college shenanigans, and that girl is a way better momfriend than she ever was.

And yeah, she almost always wants physical contact. She's touch starved as fuck.

For Lew, caretaking just kind of... never occurred to him as a thing to want. He's not against it, and he definitely needs it when he's sick, so he's perfectly happy to go along with it. It's kind of nice for him to just have someone tell him what to do sometimes, especially when he's sneezy and out of it.

Physical contact for him is... complicated? Like, I'm not sure if he's touch-neutral generally and just super touch starved when he first meets Dal, or if he deadass lives his life ping-ponging between touch-starved and touch-averse as his touch meter gets drained and fills back up. Honestly I think he's like, demi but for touch—i.e., touch-favorable with very specific people and touch-averse with everyone else. (He's bisexual and greyromantic, it really is specifically touch that he's demi about if anything)

2) What do they look like when they don't feel well? Do they dress up to cover up? Do they tend to look sick when they are?

V's more or less a t-shirt-and-jeans girl at the best of times, so when she's sick she kinda just looks marginally more disheveled. Like her hair's slightly messier than usual and it's easier to tell she's slept in her clothes, and there's a slightly higher chance she'll be in sweats or even pajama pants if she's really not feelin it. If she's actually acknowledging that she's sick she'll put on her biggest, comfiest hoodie and just kinda live in it for a few days.

With Lew, there are approximately two differences in his appearance when he has a cold. One is that his nose turns visibly pinkish-red. Like a beacon on his face. The other is that he carries a white fucking handkerchief. Like a nerd.

There are other subtle differences, like the rings under his eyes being a shade or two darker, and his lips being pretty much constantly parted because he's invariably too congested to breathe through his nose, but really, once you see the handkerchief, you already know.

Soooo my comfort characters tend to be other people's OCs more often than mine?? 😅 and/or characters from my VNs and shit, but truly, who are VN characters if not other people's OCs lol. So the OCs of mine that end up being comfort characters tend to be... the self-inserts that I fantasize about said other people's OCs through. Lol.

Niko and Dahlia were definitely my go-to comfort pairing for a long time. I've described Dal before as "me if I had my shit together". Her ADHD is well-managed with medication, she's in school and pursuing something that actually interests her, she knows how to drive lmao. Also she's hot as fuck and her goth aesthetic is off the tits because she has the time/money/energy to put into it. She's me in that she's overprotective to the point of being possessive, wants to kill everyone who's ever hurt her loved ones (this is legally hyperbole), is a top and kinky as hell and loves caretaking and fucks a snz. Also probably some other things but those ones come up a lot lmao.

My current comfort ship is V and someone else's character from the weird niche multiverse she exists in. V is also more or less a self insert, but I made her for a story that's more genre fiction than outright fantasy (at least compared to what I usually write, lol), and quite frankly she's a mess. Like, the poor girl might actually be more traumatized than I am. But she cares so much and she has so much love to give and augh I care her 😭😭
