The Striaton Triplets a don't have much depth, as with many of the league members.

Sure they get more in the anime, but that can be said about literally any character.

Woooooh boy the straiton triplets are obscure alright. I haven't really thought of them much tbh, and when I have, I haven't been able to get many headcanons of my own. But hey, that's what these asks are for, eh? Let's see....

Starting with Cilan, let's get the obvious out of the way. The anime made him a submas twins fanboy, so I'm making him a submas twins fanboy lmao. Moreso due to his interest in trains. Speaking of interests I also feel like he has an interest in botany. I know I know, grass type leader, good with plants, it's cliche yes. But it's more so he can grow his own herbs for meals! It's a group effort between him and his brothers, but off the three, Cilan definitely has the green thumb. I imagine he's also a really good singer, and he likes singing when he's attending the plants. That being said he is painfully shy about it, despite his brothers encouragement. I think Cilan, just from his memory link with his brothers, is the more....non combatant of the three? Both in his shy nature compared to his brothers, but also like. He's more accepting of a certain rhythm or expectation,and doesn't really try to change that? At least to me. Post BW has certainly changed that for him, but it's still a flaw I think. He accepts things how they are even when they aren't great. And it's not entirely his fault, I just think he doesn't always see The Problem, you know?

Chili, ngl, give me younger brother energy. Or maybe middle child energy? No clue lmao. I think, of the three, he's the most interested in battling. He likes the energy of it! Of the three, Chili is arguably the best cook, and has a pretty diverse palette. Sweet, savory, spicy, you name it, he got it! Unlike Cilan, can't sing for shit. Got amazing dance moves though ( a great tap dancer). He....is very bad at ignoring rumors. It doesn't help that Cress is a sucker for them. He's even worse at not taking them to heart sometimes. Sometimes it's justified ( look at the memory link) but sometimes he gets ticked off if someone says anything bad about him or his brothers. He's not good at letting things go ( though, at the same time, he would often forget what he was upset about unless what's being said was really bugging him). Chili is the one that wants to be seen as his own individual with his own strength the most. Cilan is too complacent in his eyes, and Cress....well Cress understands but also thinks Chili's overthinking it ( which, to an extent, he is).

Cress! The trio's main gossiper! I don't know where I got this idea from but it's funny thinking how easily Chili falls for whatever shit Cress talks about. 99% of the time it's fake, but he's not telling Chili that. Cilan can sing, Chili can dance, and Cress can play a mean piano. He also can make a stellar latte. Not in combatant like Cilan, but not as eager for a fight like Chili. He likes battling, naturally, but it's like. " Okay, well I like this enough, sure". I think he's also, somehow, the one who's the most organized of the three? He's the one that makes sure the other two are on track with work in my eyes ( again, that memory link changed how I see these three). It's usually him and Chili butting heads but when there's a moue serious conversation in which Chili and Cilan aren't exactly seeing eye to eye, he's usually the one listening to both sides, and making sure everyone remains level headed ( mostly Chili, but you get it).

Now. These three, in my eyes, are teens. Who are they're parents? Where are they? Never said. It's not unusual for kids in the pokemon world to be doing this type of stuff, but you still gotta wonder about it. So I propose this: The restaurant that is their gym was just a restaurant before. It became a gym after the three became gym leaders ( why three gym leaders? Because alder thought it would be funny. Plus he didn't have the heart to pit the boys against each other). Said restaurant was and still is owned by their parents, they've just taken a back seat due to the gym leader thing. Once the boys retire, the restaurant comes in full swing! And....yeah that's all I got.

Hopefully this was an interesting read! I wasn't expecting to have Thoughts about these three but here we are. I have Thoughts about the three monkeys at what they mean for the triplets but that's for another time. And yeah! Thank you for the ask!

I love Barry, and I do think he's defo one of the stronger rivals in terms of levels BUT!

ARE YOU SURE ABOUT THAT?!

Anyway, yeah, there's definitely still Arven and Penny and Carmine, but in the entire group, these two are like The Rivals imo. Barry's highest leveled pokemon is 85 and that's the base for the majority of Kieran's pokemon. Nemona is 1 level higher in terms of that ( which makes sense she is canonically stronger than him lol).

Okay going to Wallace for a sec, I called him a stick in the mud earlier and I said that to his younger self. I think, with Wallace, he followed the rules that were given to them to a T - it was about his culture and history after all, he wanted to respect it. And that's not a bad thing at all! I just think the problem is that Wallace himself was incredibly stiff back then. Which was ironic since he was the water type specialist. He was supposed to be fluid, smooth and flexible. But he was rigged and conforming, wanting to be what he thinks he's supposed to be.

Meeting Steven was literally what broke the camels back cause he literally broke a rule that day. Little Wallace never really broke the rules, he never really considered it. But then he meets someone who, infuriatingly, makes up his own rules as he goes. And is somehow able to make Wallace bend. I don't think his sister was able to do that, and I think they're both very close. So meeting Steven was honestly what forced him to change into someone he wants to be, you know? And it helped him understand water types waaaay more compared to how he started out.

And yeah! Wallace meeting Steven was a very important moment in his life. And I would say the same for Steven!

Green, on a fun day out with Red and Blue, is approached by a child. Said child has a piece of paper and pen. Looking behind them Green can see what she assumes is the kids mom, giving an encouraging smile. The kid wants an autograph, clearly. Green has been in these situations before though. They don't want an autograph from her. They want one from Red or Blue. Green has long since accepted that fact, so she gives the kid a smile before they can open their mouth.

" Hey there kiddo! Blue and Red are a bit busy at the moment, but they'll be back soon. Wanna wait with me?" A practiced line that she hopes doesn't leak any of the small bitterness she feels. That wouldn't be fair to the kid. Hell, that wouldn't be fair to Red and Blue. The child looks up at her in confusion, shifting awkwardly and fiddling with their pen and paper.

" U-um. I...I actually wanted your autograph, Miss Green!"

Eh?

The child continues, getting braver with each word, " I-I just think you're really cool! I like watching your battles a lot, a-and I wanna be as cool as you are someday!" Bowing slightly, thrusting the pen and paper forward, " C-can I please have your autograph?!"

Well. Damn. Fuck. She wasn't expecting this. Since when did she get fans?! Was her head too stuck in her ass to notice? Well now she feels like shit. Now she....now she feels like she's gonna cry. Fuck.

" You're really sweet, kid..." Green tries to keep her voice steady, a new reality settling in. She has a fan. Said fan wants her autograph. Holy shit, " Of course, I'll give you an autograph! Lemme see..."

She gingerly takes the pen and paper from the kid, and signs it. She winces at her work. She really needs to work on her signature. Kinda sloppy, and the kid doesn't deserve that. Still, not wanting to hold up the kid and their mom up any longer, she gives the pen and paper back, giving them a wide smile and a wink.

" Here ya go! One autograph for a very special fan, right here!" The kid eyes practically sparkle, excitedly taking both items and staring at it as if it's the entire world. Arceus, Green can feel the tears starting to swell, fuck.

" Thank you, Miss Green! I'll cherish it forever! " The kid quickly bows and runs off to their mom,cheering as they do. The mom happily looks at the autograph her kid is showing off, looking up when her kid isn't looking. She smiles at Green, mouthing a quick 'thank you' before taking her kids hand and walking off, the kid rambling excitedly as they go. Green waves them off, a swell of emotion in her chest.

Cherish it forever.

Green chuckles- it's wet and coarse,no longer able to keep it in. Was someone really going to remember her? Cherish her name,forever? The bitterness in her laughs at the thought. The sweetness from that encounter shoves it to the side, and she relishes in it. She is crying fully now, smiling to herself as the kid and their mom are long gone.

" Hey, sorry for the wait. That line was terrible - what the fuck happened to you?" Blue's voice catches her attention. She turns, eyes full of tears, to Red and Blue, who's looking at her with concern.

" I have a fan!" she croaked, raising her hands to gesture writing, " They wanted an autograph!"

Blue blinks, then shakes his head and sighs, " Green..." He says, though the affection was not lost of her.

Red's worry melts away with a smile, signing to his best friend, ' I told you so'

"Yeah, yeah," she waves him off, sniffing and wiping away her tears, " Pass me some food before I start bawling,you dorks".

" Dorks-"

The day goes on as usual after that. Blue and Green's banter, Red following along half-paying attention, half in his own world. Pikachu and Eevee playing with each other through it all. Green repeats the words the kid said to her throughout the day, a big goofy smile on her face that not even Blue's assholery can wipe off.

Cherish it forever.

Over thinker( but not really)

Summary: In which Leon thinks a lot ( and it keeps him awake)

Notes: whatever the ship name for Leon x Raihan x Piers is, this is that. I like writing characters reflecting :) Also super sorry if this is ooc, I genuinely haven't interacted with/ written these characters in a while. I just pressed on and wrote the fluff lol. Also I did NOT edit this bad boy, so sorry for any spelling errors. I still hope you enjoy!!!

If he were to be honest, and he is, he never fully expected to be the cuddler and cuddlee. Raihan and Piers lay on each side of him, Raihan’s head crooning near his neck, and Piers resting on his chest. Both of which are latching into him,allowing zero escape, all three of their legs tangled together in a comfortable mess. And- he’s being truthful here- he did not expect them to be cuddlers. At all. Okay maybe Raihan- he liked to lean on close friends, Leon knew that much. But Piers? Piers liked his space and privacy, which they respected. What more, Piers was a horrid night owl. It took them a while to even get comfortable sleeping together, even more so to drag Piers to bed and make sure he stays there. And yet here he is, an arm wrapped around Leon, comfortable and sleeping away. Leon can't help but feel pride. He’s glad Piers feels safe with him to fall asleep

It’s still weird that they're so cuddly. Not a bad weird. A good weird. Just ….. something he has to get used to now. It is nice, though. And he suppose it makes sense that a dragon and a vampire desire warmth- he chuckles at the thought.

……Sleep eludes him tonight. Not the first time, though he hoped the two bodies next to him would have him asleep in no time. And yet, he stares at the ceiling of Raihan's apartment, wide awake as can be. He's…..not afraid to fall asleep. Not tonight, anyway. No fears of darkness, no flashes of red and blue and purple- nothing. For once, things felt peaceful. So why can't he sleep?

Leon shifts a little- or tries to with his boyfriend's clinging onto him- trying to gather his thoughts. Maybe he's just not tired. Maybe Piers vampirism latched onto him now. He snorts at the thought.

……..

He wonders what Sonia is doing now. Is she with Nessa, like he is with Raihan and Piers? Or is she back home, sleeping away in her own peace? He hopes, either way, she's getting a good night's rest. And if not well. He wonders if she's doing the same thing he’s doing right now. Thinking away.

“Lee,” Raihan’s voice almost made Leon jump out of his own skin. Leon looks down to see a familiar turquoise eye looking up at him, “ I can hear you thinking, love”

An urge to roll his eyes is strong, but instead he chooses to worry- playfully.

“ Sorry it woke you up, then,” he teases, and it's Raihan that rolled his eyes.

“ Mm-hmm” Raihan hums, then he yawns, rising up on his arms, “ Well? What's got you overthinking?”

“ I'm not overthinking-”

“ Hhhrrrrmp” Piers grunts, waking up himself. He doesn't open his eyes just yet, only speaking, “ Why are we talking in the middle of the night?”

“ Lee’s overthinking,”

“ I'm not-”

“ Okay,” Piers yawns, “ Stop overthinking,Leon. Go to bed- ow!”

Leon suppresses a giggle as Raihan pinches Piers, earning them both a glare from the man.

“ Alright, alright, we can talk about it, jeez-”

“ We really don't have to” Leon interrupts, “ It's really nothing”.

Raihan and Piers look at each other, then back at Leon.

“ Lee we all know when you say ‘its really nothing', it's absolutely something”

“But it really isn't!”

“ And when you insist it isn't, it usually is,” Piers adds, also rising up, staring down at Leon, “ So let's cut to the part where you tell us what's up, hm?”

Leon grumbles. Leave it to these two to go straight for the kill….

“ Alright! It's Sonia. Just….thinking about how she's doing, that's all,”

Raihan tilts her head to the side, but before he could say anything, Piers crashes back down next to Leon.

“ Piers-”

“ I’m listening. But I'm also fucking tired. So.” Piers mumbled, and Leon chuckled. Once again - never would have expected this from the vampire man. Though the more he thinks about it, the more that's on him than anything. Raihan shakes his head, but nudges Leon on his shoulder, gently offering him to speak.

“ …..Well. I couldn't sleep. And I didn't exactly feel any distress so I just. Let my mind wander. And I ended up thinking about Sonia,” he shrugs, “ Still don't know why I'm awake though”

Raihan hums, nodding his head.

“ Did you talk to her recently?” He asks. Leon scrunches up his face a bit. Has he? They certainly have been talking more since he lost his title, but recently?

“.....No, not really”

“ Then maybe you just miss her,” Piers offered, his voice muffled slightly by the sheets.

“ We could set up something if you'd like,” Raihan offers next. Leon hums, titling his head to the side slightly.

“ That would be nice…..we’ve both been pretty busy….” He trails off,his mind going back. Back to the gym challenge. Back to their rivarly. Back to home. Back to-

“ She gave me that title first, you know” he says without thinking. Raihan raises a brow.

“ What?”

Leon blinks.

“ Uh. Before the gym challenge. I…..I was so scared. I didn't think anyone would like me or….or if I would make it far,” he swallows, memories flooding back into his mind. Him staring down at the train station, his legs refusing to move. The fear of leaving home, the worry of his loved ones health, the thought of him failing- it was all too much. He remembers Sonia’s touch. He remembers her giving him a warm smile. He remembers what she said-

“ She told me to create a persona. One that's ever confident and that can do anything and everything with a smile,” he smiles softly at the memory, “ ‘The Unbeatable Leon’”

There's a short silence between the three. Raihan looks down at Leon with slightly widened eyes.

“ I….I didn't know that,” he mutters.

“ Of course you didn't. It was our secret. No one had to know,”

“ So…..” Piers speaks up, “ When we first met you that….was a persona?”

“....Kinda?” Leon thinks back some more, “ Sonia….she told me that Leon and Unbeatable Leon were one of the same. Both can do anything really- it's just that Unbeatable Leon was a tool to get me going, you know?” He frowns

“....I don't think she ever meant for it to become my entire being,”

“Lee…..that's not your fault,” Raihan lowers his hand to meet Leon's, giving it a small squeeze.

“ I know….but it's not her fault either,’

“ Obviously. Neither of you expected it to become a marketing tool,” Piers says curtly. Rose’s name is left unsaid, thankfully, but it still hangs in the air.

“ I…..should probably talk to her about it,” Leon sighs, “...Later. I can see you getting grumpy Piers”.

“ Excuse me for being tired and still wanting to comfort my boyfriend,”

“ Yeaaaah, we better get back to sleep” Raihan says with a smirk, “ We don't want you becoming a vampire again”

Leon doesn't suppress his giggles this time, chuckling to himself as Raihan gets back into his original spot.

“ I can't believe you're still on that” Piers huff.

“ And you don't deny it, so for all I know, I'm right~” Raihan fires back, only to be accompanied by a yawn.

That seems to do it. Whatever small banter that was starting to brew dies quietly.

And soon Leon is back to where he was before. But this time he finds himself growing tired himself, sleep easing into him, one last memory plays in his mind……

“ Unbeatable? Me?” Leon asks meekly. Sonia smiles, and Leon feels his worries ease.

“ Yep! The Unbeatable Leon! Everyone will love it!”

“ Everyone…..” he shakes his head, “But! I never beat you in battle, Sonia! How can I-”

“ Because!” She cuts him off, “ I believe in you, silly. Someday everyone is gonna see how bright you really are, just like I do!” She snickers a bit, “ Who knows maybe you’ll be able to beat me in battle soon~”

“Sonia!” Leon whines, and Sonia simply laughs, moving in front of him.

She stands in front of the train station, a big smile with a hand outstretched.

“ So, Mr. Unbeatable…..you ready to go?”

Leon looks at his best friend, and the hand she lends out. Unbeatable Leon…..the guy who does everything and anything with a confident smile. Like her. Like Sonia. He beams, and takes Sonia’s hand.

“ You know it!”

Anyway Grace( XY mom)! I feel like if Gamefreak weren't cowards they would have given Grace actual muscles and scars bc of her old job as a rhyhorn racer( couldn't give her much with the picrew sadly. I imagine most of them would be around her hands, arms, legs. Nothing serious, but I don't think rhyhorn racing is a super safe sport) . I also thought an undercut for her fits her more, I can't explain why.

She's the type to laugh at dumb jokes and slap your back too hard.

Do you have headcanons about Kalos in your AU, that affect Jude, Dante, and the rivals? Familar and new ones alike!

Yeah! I have a few hc's that I hopefully remember -

I know that Kalos has a classism problem, if Team Flare is to show off anything. And also this weird beauty problem, whether or not someone is stylish enough is allowed to enter certain stores. That in particular reaaaally bothers Jude n Shauna lol.

I think the rivals sans Dante and Jude ( kinda) aren't suuuuuuper wealthy. Not exactly poor either, but they don't exactly have the same luxury that Dante has. Shauna was always aware of this really - it's why she's so quick to point out the faults of rich folk in my au. Trevor is aware of this too, but was more focused on making his dead beat parents proud.

I think this focus on beauty in Kalos effected them too. I generally go by the principal that the pokemon world is sooooo much better to live in compared to the real world, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have it's issues. I can see Trevor being used for his smarts like Clemont is- something that he doesn't exactly mind, but I can imagine it's kinda taxing. Shauna is also very smart and her parents are often pushing her to "maximize her potential" but. It isn't her passion. She likes puzzles as a hobby, but nothing worth being a career. It doesn't help that it's not just her parents trying to push her in this direction. It's frustrating, being told to uphold a certain standard that you don't want. And Shauna is a bit of a romantic. She likes all the romantic stuff of Kalos, but having to obtain that is frustrating sometimes. Tierno, I feel, is often overlooked in that regard. He doesn't exactly have exceptional abilities like Trevor or Shauna or Dante. He just likes to dance and dreams of making a dance team. Which. Might not even be considered something worth going into by some. Not all, of course, but the few that do kinda always stuck with Tierno. It didn't help that he didn't exactly come from a rich family so. I think these things played a role in Tierno's self worth really. He doesn't feel like he offers much, or has anything to stand out. His dancing is just dancing- it's not as useful as Trevor's smarts, or Shauna's charm or Dante's battle prowess. So what can he really offer?

Jude is kinda funny in all of this bc Jude is an outsider here. She's from Kanto. She's not used to whatever Kalos is about. So there's always a level of slight annoyance with how things operate in Kalos. Though she's also in a position where she does get the perks of "beauty", so it's. Weird. Dante, on the other hand, has always thrived in Kalos' standards, and never had a problem with it because of that. In a way he kinda isolated his friends out because he never really saw the problem. It's only when his ego got hurt was when he started to really see things for how it is- and even then that took a while bc Lysandre got to him first and kinda warped Dante's ego into working for him( though I should stress Dante didn't know Lysandre was part of team flare, let alone leading it. His job was just to collect mega stones and help Lysandre with some data- but Lysandre did present himself as someone who understood Dante at the time, and that's what Dante really wanted )

Aaaaand yeah. I think that's all I want to say. It was fun to compare how the culture around kalos effects the kiddos!

For any of your OCs you want to explore! What do they think about how Leon became Chosen in Legendsverse if they are in the know?

At some point everyone ends up knowing about Leon being a Chosen, but the first ones are obviously Naomi and Carol. They're still new to the whole thing, and are not entirely sure how things work, so once they learn Leon was Chosen by Eternatus of all things they're like " Okay????? Cool?????? Are you okay?????????????".

......Alexis and Elliot on the other hand. Are confused as fuck. They weren't entirely aware that Eternatus could choose??? Especially from what they learned about it, they assumed it was a deoxys situation ( Deoxys can't Choose btw) but apparently not????? And they're just. So worried for Leon's health, like the guy got possessed, they can't imagine being Chosen by eternatus is going well. Elliot makes sure to text Jude about it and ooooooh boy. Poor Jude. Yet another new Chosen to look after. But it's Leon, someone they kinda met before, so it should be fine? They're just. Very concerned about Eternatus. Cause what the actual fuck. A chosen is only unchosen when the legendary unChooses them and from the looks of it, Eternatus is very attached to Leon so. Leon kinda became the number one concern for a while.

Applins and Luvdiscs

Summary: In which Luca gives Kieran a luvdisc, Kieran gives Luca an Applin, and the aftermath.

Notes: Hi, I wanted to write some oc x canon stuff with Kieran and Luca so here we are. I hope you guys enjoy it!

The situation was honestly hilarious when you think about it. Luca gave Kieran a luvdisc, not knowing what it meant,and in return he got an Applin, something he’s oh so painfully knowing the meaning behind. Luca was already having his heart pound in his chest at the golden apple in his hands, but Drayton had to open his stupid little mouth and claim that Luvdiscs were a sign of love. Luca’s poor heart was now threatening to leap out of his heart, especially seeing how red Kieran's face got at Drayton's words.

The next thing the two knew they were racing each other all around the terrarium, trying to get ahead of each other so the other could see their embarrassment. Only to forget completely as to why they were running and their competitive nature's get the better of them. By the end of the day the two were laughing and teasing each other, completely forgetting their mutual confession moments before. Until they didn't, of course. Luca couldn't scream, sadly, as it was late at night when he realized what had transpired that day.

Again, it's quite funny when you think about it in retrospect. Luca hopes that one day he and Kieran can laugh about the silliness of it all……maybe on a date, but even thinking that makes Luca’s head explode.

R.B and Carmine decided to work together the day after their race. After lunch,the two essentially dragged Luca and Kieran to the terrarium to talk about what happened. Which. Fair. A lot of their mess before was due to lack of communication, so they weren't wrong to do that. But man, can't they just jet them wallow a little bit? Give them some time to think? Jeez.

It all leads them here. Underneath one of Blueberry Academy outdoor classes, sitting in complete silence. Everso often Luca would try and spare a glance at Kieran, only for him to catch his eye too, and they both turn away.

“ So-” they both start,both looking at each other as they speak. They both flinch back, but laugh at their mishap.

“ You go first,” Kieran offers, and Luca nods. He starts playing with a piece of his locs, bashfully looking away, feeling his cheeks burn.

“ You gave me an Applin….” He mutters, his stomach flipping as he does.

“ Y-yeah,” he hears Kieran say, no doubt playing with his own strand of hair, “ …You gave me a Luvdisc,”

Luca nods, his cheeks burning hotter, “ Y-yeah,”

Another small silence reaches between the two

“ Do you-”

“ I-”

Once again they both flinch at their voices intertwining, but still share a chuckle.

“ You go first this time,” Luca encouraged, and Kieran giggles.

“O-okay, well-” Kieran scoots a little closer to Luca, their shoulders now touching, “ I….I already knew what Luvdisc’s mean.”

Luca tries not to cover his face, “ Uh-huh…”

“ A-and, I kinda….sorts…know what giving Applin to another person mean? I-In Galar, I mean!” Luca eyes widen. He feels like he was going to explode.

“S-so you were planning to-”

“ I mean!” Kieran cuts him off, his face as red as a tomato, “ Kinda! Carmine said that giving someone an Applin was a very big deal on Galar! She was really pestering me about it…” he coughs, “ S-so, uh, I knew it was a pretty big deal. B-but I still wanted to give it to you anyway…” he shyly looks back at Luca.

“....Did you know about Luvdiscs?”

Ah. The embarrassing part had arrived.

“ Uh….not until Drayton mentioned it?” Kieran looks up at him flabbergasted.

“ Wha- but- why???”

“ I thought it looked cute!”

“ The pokemon that was heart shaped and has ‘luv’ in its name, and you didn't think about the implications? Don't you have a pokedex?!”

“ I THOUGHT IT WAS CUTE!!!” Luca pouts, “ A-and I was more excited to give you Hearty that I didn't really look at my pokedex, okay?”

Kieran still looks at him befuddled but he begins to laugh.

“ Kiki! It's not funny!!!”

“ It really is!” Kieran giggles, “ Of all the pokemon you decided to catch-”

“ It was PINK and it was shaped like a HEART. I kinda auto piloted there!” Luca tries to defend himself, but it only makes Kieran laugh harder. Despite his embarrassment, he can't help but laugh with him. The two lean into each other's touch a bit, letting their laughter take its natural course.

“ S-so-” Luca giggles a bit, “ What now? We, uh. Kinda let out feelings out in the open now,”

Kieran is silent for a bit, thinking. It was only then Luca realized Kieran took his hand when they were laughing. Or maybe it was before then? He doesn't know, and quite frankly doesn't care. He tries not to freak out, rather enjoy the warmth of Kieran's hand in his.

“ I…’ Kieran speaks up, “ …I said that I wanted to start over and be friends again, right?” Luca nods.

“ A-and I- I mean it's clear that I want to be with you but…I dunno. I also want to explore our friendship first? Is….is that okay?”

Luca would be lying if he didn't feel a tang of disappointment here. But overall, he still feels warm and gitty, so he smiles warmly.

“ It's more than okay! I like being your friend,”

Kieran visibly relaxed at that,returning Luca’s smile.

“ Okay…okay! I’m glad! I-” he gives Luca's hand a squeeze, “ I really do like you, Luca,”

Luca grins a big goofy grin.

“ I like you too!”

“ Huh? You're not dating now?” R.B blinks, looking up from her homework.

“ Yep! Kieran wanted to see where our friendship goes before anything else,” Luca says cooly, ignoring his own homework for a snack. He passes a chip to R.B, who takes it without question.

“ Huh,” she takes a bite out of her chip, “ That's …. surprisingly emotionally mature,” she finishes her chip, looking back down at her homework.

“ Okay. I accept this,”

Luca sighs in relief. He has R.B’s approval. Not necessary at all, but it's always a good feeling when R.B agrees with his decisions. Well, Kieran's decision is this case, but the point still stands.

“ So now what? I don't have to sit between you two being awkward with each other, right?” R.B says, not looking up.

“ Nope! At least I hope so! I think talking things out made things easier for us somehow,”

“ Your welcome for that by the way,” R.B still hasn't looked up from her work, “ And don't think I’m gonna let you slack of on your homework, Luca,”

Luca groans out loud, but R.B cuts him off.

“ Think about it this way. If you start lagging behind, you won't be able to compete with Kieran as much as you want to,”

Logically, they both know that wouldn't be the case. But sometimes, Luca doesn't run on logic. He runs on pure emotion, and right now his emotions are telling him he does not want to stop competing with Kieran.

“ Yeah, okay,” Luca says immediately, diving into his homework.

R.B smirks, going back to her own. Yet another win for Ms. Luna.
