At some point everyone ends up knowing about Leon being a Chosen, but the first ones are obviously Naomi and Carol. They're still new to the whole thing, and are not entirely sure how things work, so once they learn Leon was Chosen by Eternatus of all things they're like " Okay????? Cool?????? Are you okay?????????????".
......Alexis and Elliot on the other hand. Are confused as fuck. They weren't entirely aware that Eternatus could choose??? Especially from what they learned about it, they assumed it was a deoxys situation ( Deoxys can't Choose btw) but apparently not????? And they're just. So worried for Leon's health, like the guy got possessed, they can't imagine being Chosen by eternatus is going well. Elliot makes sure to text Jude about it and ooooooh boy. Poor Jude. Yet another new Chosen to look after. But it's Leon, someone they kinda met before, so it should be fine? They're just. Very concerned about Eternatus. Cause what the actual fuck. A chosen is only unchosen when the legendary unChooses them and from the looks of it, Eternatus is very attached to Leon so. Leon kinda became the number one concern for a while.

@thingswillsurelyendwell Half serious, half silly scene that popped into my head with Elliot, Alexis, Leon, and Ingo in a video call. Not sure how it came to that moment. XDD
Probably a few months later after TBWS, Leon is horrified about how understimulated Ingo must have been in Hisui and accidentally and indirectly reveals that he used to be understimulated, too. Not that many serious battles, little time for his other interest in snapbacks, which Ingo points out.
Leon escapes the video call by claiming an excuse, with Elliot and Alexis yelling after him to come back.

If Ai&Lexi ever have a kid, what would their relationships be like with everyone else? Like is Nash the uncle they can only be around supervised because if they aren't, something ends up on fire?
Here's just a few (if you want the rest just tell me but I'm sleeeeppyyyy)
Nash— I actually think he would be chill for the first 5 years of the kids life. Not because he's thinking of the consequences, but he's actually really good with children when he wants to be. After that, he lets shit hit the fan and he becomes the fun uncle. Ofc if he's taking care of the kid but like, someone has to let them do fun shit, and he thinks Ai and Alexi aren't doing enough. I feel like the kid would really like him actually
Orion— He actually wouldn't be around a lot (for obvious reasons) and he's just so stiff and paranoid it might be a bit scary. A little mean, which may be a good or a bad thing to the kid (if they do grow up with a sarcastic sense of humor LMAOO). He's actually a really good babysitter so I don't feel like anything would go too wrong if he was around
Atlas— I feel like the kid would be really fascinated with him because he's one of the only angels they get to see. So of course the kid would love messing around with him and he's just like 😐 but not in a way that's really awkward or anything, he's just like that, and I think the kid learns that a really quickly. I actually think they'll find it pretty funny and try to make him smile any chance that they get (sometimes he feels bad and does it anyway to make them laugh). I don't think he should be the first option to babysit because he's just gonna forget shit but if that's the last option, it's not the worst thing ever.
Char— I feel like the kid would actually really like Char! And Char really likes the kid too, hell she's picking them up and giving them forehead kisses whenever she can (even when the kid becomes too heavy to be picked up, forehead kisses are still a must and she stands by that). She's a great babysitter honestly and she should be one of the first options if they ever were to have to leave.
Eliana — Eli does all of the things Char does and then some. Clearly, Char would absolutely love the kid, but she wouldn't really go out of her way to spend time with her if Ai or Alexi had another option. Eliana does. Like she makes sure to ask Ai if she can text her first so she can be the one taking care of the kid and I think it's really funny because it sounds like she's rivaling Nash, and she probably is. Anyway, Eliana would be the aunt that is in the kids life the most, and the kid would like her. I don't think they'd really appreciate her till the come to the point where they need advice for something, and she gives the best advice ever, so she'd be around, that's all I'm saying.
Jason— He doesn't show it but he's actually so uncomfortable. A little angry for a while but then it's just kinda awkward for him to be around this kid. Like he won't really say anything to try and make it obvious because he can be a decent human being sometimes but he just feels so out of place. He's also a pretty okay babysitter but also not the best ever because I feel like he'll leave the kitchen in disarray 💀 I feel like the kid wouldn't know much about Jason from himself, but grows fond of him because of how Ai talks about things he did in the past and such
Regina— Acts like she doesn't care for the kid but she obviously does. I don't think she'd ever really have enough time to end up babysitting so that's not even something to talk about. I feel like the kid would feel very neutral about her until their teen years, then they'd like her

Aether is quite a horrible person, actually. She is guilty of tax fraud and evasion, murder, stalking and a lot more. Living in the town of ironvile, she does not enjoy her time there. Divorced from James Black after the death of their daughter (which was her fault) Aether moved away, finding an unclaimed plot in an unclaimed country that she named her own, Sleep Island. She runs a casino and is very much a scammer. After a fall out with a friend, and that friends death, she moves again, this time into literal hell. She builds a glass dome and grows some flowers, finding a peaceful life.

In a moment of sheer insanity after her daughters death, she gets into a fight with her husband Karl Smith and kills him with the kitchen knife (don’t fight in your kitchens kids). Supposedly prior to the murder of her husband, she was seen with a voodoo doll that almost looked like the infamous god of death. Blythe loses her leg to what she claims was an animal after following a cloaked man into the forest and begins to realise the wrongs of her ways, changing her fashion line to accept people of any body shape.

In immortality he knows will always be alone and in a violent search for the fountain of youth in hopes to destroy it and redeem himself, he found himself lost in the woods looking for a fountain that didn’t exist when he runs into a lost traveler. Carlos is kind of a dick, and is rude and snarky when it isn’t appropriate. He never redeems himself.

When he gets himself lost and lives in that forest for two years, he eventually meets a traveler who he swore looked like his brother but heavily ‘glitched’. Kyle eventually moves to Ironvile in hopes of reconciliation with his sisters, when he finds Blythe has been put into a mental institution (yes, they still have those) and that Aether is off the grid. He gives up and settles down in the eastern side of Ironvile.

12. Any books that disappointed you?
hench by nina zina walschots - this was fine, but i was expecting more from it i think, and also she should have made out with the leviathan.
only a monster by vanessa len - nothing about this book worked for me, but especially that the "monsters" are all Fairly Regular Guys who can time travel. and just so we're clear, it's not love at first sight; they just fell in love in another timeline that we don't get to see.
in a garden burning gold by rory power - i normally wouldn't include anything izzie and i read for the book club of misery, because we do not approach those in, like, the best of faith, but in this case i was optimistic, and then it was so boring and the politics insulted my intelligence.
the dragon's promise by elizabeth lim - i read six crimson cranes in march, really enjoyed it, and then waited till august for the sequel to come out and it was... a very sort of perfunctory sequel that existed to jump from plot point to plot point and resolve them as quickly as possible.
house of hunger by alexis henderson - this is billed as a queer gothic horror, but for gothic you really need to develop a sense of place, and this not-very-well-sketched victorianesque fantasy world did not do it for me. it's lacking in intrigue or mystery. the vampires are obviously vampires (not just to the readers but to the characters). everyone articulates exactly what they're feeling at all times. the lead relationship has no chemistry, and i did not buy at all that lisavet had ever truly loved marion, so there was no reason to feel tragic about the "discovery" of what was really going on. sorry this bullet point is so long, but i really wanted to find a good vampire book in october/november and i was bitterly disappointed by this instead.
a dowry of blood by s.t. gibson - i read this after house of hunger, so i was even more desperate for a good vampire book and less optimistic. among my many problems with this book, i think writing it as a letter (series of letters?) to dracula after his death was a mistake, because there is way too much hindsight. the narrator isn't discovering anything as she's living it; she already knows what she thinks, long after the fact, which takes any tension out at the knees. vast swaths of time are covered in a few sentences, which is fine, except she seems to skip anything interesting (such as the harkers, who are mentioned all of once; they are not the ones who kill dracula, so why not cut that reference and just have oc vampires? hello?). the combination of emotional distance and diagnostic language made it impossible for me to be drawn in. also, reviews have greatly underplayed the flowery ridiculousness of the prose. "liquid rage pooled in my stomach and lit up my face" has lived in my mind rent-free for a month.
