Meeting and Dating Headcanons

Donkey Kong X Fem!Reader

Summary: General headcanons of the meeting, dating, first impressions, affection and NSFW (under the cut) of Donkey Kong and yourself. Enjoy!

Meeting

• DK first saw you when he passed the store you worked at.

• Although your store may have not been his first preference of shopping, he just couldn't resist talking to you.

• It was the way you served the customers, the way you welcomed everyone who came in, the way you smiled and bobbed your head to the music over the speakers.

• He just had to meet you.

• At first, once you weren't serving customers, he tried to chat you up by sounding smart about the products that you sold.

• Plot twist, he know nothing about them.

• You laughed slightly before offering to explain the products.

• He, of course, immediately said yes. You'd be talking to him, just him. He couldn't pass up the opportunity.

• Depending on what you sold, he was either really intrigued or really confused.

• Either way, he listened to every word you said.

• Almost every day, or whenever he saw you working, he came to visit you.

• Whether it was to ask the same question just to hear your voice, or to talk to you while the store was extremely quiet.

• He just wanted to hang out with you :)

• This was a regular occurrence until one day, he showed up at the same time that you finished your shift early.

• You noticed for the first time in these many weeks, he seemed to be acting a little different while also holding his hand behind his back.

• Fixing his tie and scratching the back of his neck gave it away.

• He revealed a bouquet of your favourite flowers!

• He surprised you by asking if you would like to go on a date.

• His heart skipped a beat when you smiled and said, "I'd love to."

• You don't think you've ever seen anyone more excited than he was that day.

Dating

• The first thing DK noticed was how relaxed you were when you weren't working.

• This caused him to make you his number one priority whenever you two hung out.

• You assured him that he didn't need to do that.

• He didn't listen.

• He loves taking you for rides in his kart while you simply take in the scenery.

• Surprisingly, going on picnics was one of his favourite kind of dates.

• Relaxing? Just the two of you?? In a secluded area??? Away from crazy crowds????

• Paradise.

• It almost always ended with you both napping.

• You would normally lean against a tree and DK would lay his head on your lap.

• Bonus for him if you play with his hair.

• Sometimes, you would surprise him with a date!

• The first thing you tried was to go and watch one of his fights in the arena.

• He spotted you in the crowd and practically fangirled.

• He fought harder, flexed more often, blew you kisses, and dedicated his win to you.

• If you like/don't mind PDA, he announced it to the crowd.

• "I dedicate this victory to my gorgeous lady, (Y/N)!" He gestured up to you. You've never been so flustered, but you loved it.

• If he knows that you don't like PDA, he told you after the match by whispering kind words in your ear.

• If you EVER mention something that you want to get, he'll get it for you (if he can).

• Hungry? He'll buy you food.

• Thirsty? Name a drink, he'll hunt it down.

• You see a toy you love?

• Be prepared, because the next time you see him, the exact same toy will be in his hands.

• Wherever you are comfortable to go, DK will take you there.

• He just wants to be around you. That's his perfect date :)

First Impressions

• The first time you were announced to the crowd, there was a mix of reactions.

• Of course, there were the crazy fangirls (and fanboys) who weren't huge fans of you.

• They wanted Donkey Kong.

• Too bad, because he wants you.

• The rest of the crowd loved you. Some even saw you as a celebrity.

• Donkey Kong's family wasn't sold immediately.

• DK's famous, it would be a lie to say he's never had a partner before. Majority of the time, they lasted a few days, as the person mostly wanted the fame that came with dating Donkey Kong.

• After the first week that you two had become official, his dad, Cranky Kong, was genuinely surprised and warmed up to you after the first few weeks.

• He saw how happy you made his son. DK had never smiled as much as he did when he was around you.

• After dating DK for a while, and becoming more comfortable around him and his family, Cranky Kong invited you over for dinner with the family more often.

• Sometimes DK didn't even know until he showed up at the table.

• He was ecstatic every time... until his dad stole you from him.

• "I invited her, she is my guest."

• "But she's my girlfriend-"

• "She's my guest. Anyways, (Y/N)-"

• Y'all are besties <3

• Diddy Kong was skeptical of you at first. Just like Cranky Kong, he didn't think you would be here long.

• And yet, here you are, months later, hanging out with Diddy, playing games in his room.

• "Hey, Diddy, is (Y/N) in here-"

• "We're busy."

• Y'all are also besties <3

Affection

• For DK, PDA is a big thing for him. Holding hands, holding your waist, kisses, forehead kisses, making you flustered in public, the whole shebang.

• If you prefer to keep PDA to a minimum, he'll respect your wishes.

• But be prepared to receive a heap of lovin as soon as you get home.

• Give him a break, the man is touch starved.

• He is clingy. Very clingy. Especially with you.

• Hugs from behind, hugs from the front, he likes hugs.

• Expect a hand on you 24/7. He wants to make sure you're safe <3

• If you like physical touch, his hand is either around your waist, hip, or his arm is around your shoulders.

• If you're not a huge fan of physical touch, his hand would be on one of your shoulders or he's holding your hand.

• You hugging him when his arm's around your shoulders makes his heart SOAR. He'll freeze for a second before engulfing you in a bear kong hug.

• He just loves you.

• So SO much.

• Forehead touches are such a special thing between you two.

• It's like your souls connect. It's an intimate moment that you guys are able to share in public without it being too PDA.

• You were actually the first one to say "I love you", which was a surprise to you both.

• He had walked you home one night after a dinner at his home (Cranky Kong had obviously invited you).

• You make it to your door and he holds you hand.

• He stutters, he really wants to say it.

• "I..." He clears his throat.

• You know what he's trying to say. You smile as if he already said it.

• "I love you too."

• Oh. My. God.

• He almost sobbed.

• You shared a gentle kiss before you head inside your home.

• DK quite literally skipped home.

figured it out

the reason bdubs and ren (also etho to some extent) are Like That is because theyre married for tax benefits (hermitcraft doesnt have any sort of tax since ren got dethroned) (neither of them would pay taxes anyways even if there were) (etho has been committing tax fraud in minecraft since 2009) and bdubs insists that since they're married they have to really commit to it which means they both fight like a married couple would to keep up appearances. they don't even have to do this and they've made it both clear they're not dating even though the whole server knows that and does not give a flying fuck. etho lives in the basement

hi! i'm super late to this!

AAAAH hey! my name's lys. i've been active in this fandom since march of 2023, but only ever as a content consumer-- reading fics and appreciating other forms of fan art!! although i absolutely love doing that, i've been feeling more inspired lately to start creating some content and wanting to connect more with other people, so consider this my formal introduction. :)

(talking about myself is the bane of my existence so i'm terribly sorry if reading this is painfully awkward, i feel it too)

i'm 22, bi, and a writer in my free time. i just love the concept of storytelling through any form of art. i'm hoping this blog will showcase some of that!

brief background: Davina is a muggle-born witch who was born to a conservative family. They viewed something like magic as unrealistic and dangerous. She was raised in this 'traditional' lifestyle, and forced to view life from a similar narrow lens, even if it never sat right with her. When she received her letter from Hogwarts her family denied her magic, and gave her an ultimatum-- pursue her powers, or her family. She begged them to reconsider, but they disowned her when she chose magic. She developed a close relationship with Professor Hecat, and alternated between staying with her, Sebastian, and Natty's family on breaks. She's highly studious, and excels at everything she tries, though that's all driven by the ambition to make her sacrifice worth it. She definitely still struggles internally; she has a hard time separating her self-worth from her accomplishments, is typically her worst critic, and has yet to fully process her feelings about her family’s decision. But after she graduates she goes on to advocate for issues she’s passionate about (eliminating wizarding prejudices, freeing elves, etc.), and pursues a full-time career as a Healer. She values her friendships dearly, and sees them as the only family she’ll ever need.

So, Ace Race...what happened?

To give everyone a clearer, more objective view of the situation, I present: the spreadsheet. It contains a list of every player's two times and placements and who disconnected (Keep in mind there could be more, these are just the names I saw in chat join/leave).

I calculated how many places players went up or down and how their time improved. They are color coded by team, and for your convenience I put three lists next to each other: The original placements, the new placements, and what the placements would look like if the only new times you counted were the players that disconnected. (This took seven hours).

Analysis under the cut

For the record, when the first player logged off (Captain Sparklez), there was 4:30 left, when the last player rejoined (Scar) there was 4:01 left, the first person (Dream) placed with 3:28 seconds left. they stopped the game with 1:20 left. And 5up, as far as I know, didn't even rejoin until after the race was over.

Fruit brought up the issue in chat at 2:29 left (after he finished), a few others agreed with him. Oli brought up redoing it with 2:07 left. I don't know whether the admins didn't notice or didn't realize how many people actually dc'd or figured teams were equally affected, but they announced a redo at 1:44. It was tight, they made a decision in 2 minutes and 17 seconds if they noticed everyone disconnecting. Or in less than a minute if they only noticed when people talked in chat, and they did stop the game 14 seconds later.

Now for some analysis, many players dropped a few placements and felt upset about it, thinking they did worse. This leads to them becoming more frustrated with the reset. I suspected they likely didn't, it was just there were quite a few really good ace race players that got discontented (Illumina, Fruitberries, HBomb).

The vast majority of players improved their time, often by a lot. The only ones that didn't were: Dream, Sapnap, InTheLittleWood, Smallishbeans, FoolishG, Badboyhalo, and AntVenom.

To my knowledge: Dream tried and failed to copy Purpled's skip several times, Martyn had a really good run the first time/tried skips, and Ant's trident didn't work/he tried skips. Joel, Sap, and Bad's were 0-2 seconds worse. I don't know what happened to Foolish (lack of morale ?)

As to be expected, everyone who disconnected improved majorly from 45 seconds to over 1 minute and 30 seconds. Most also rose quite a few placements, but not all. And not enough to account for all the upset in the new placements, so what else?

Well, those who practiced for ace race a lot, vod reviewed, and had experience was now void of those advantages. Now, people had a fresh run, they are familiar with the movements needed, and they saw other people do skips that they can try.

Bad originally had a massive advantage because he has a unique way he practices it that familiarizes the movements to him, but that's now gone, though he only lost one second, he dropped 14 places. Hannah, on the other hand, had never played ace race in an event before. But with the reset, she did and thus performed much better, gaining 6 places.

Almost everyone got faster times, but certain people with certain circumstances were more affected by it. So players, rest assured, you probably did improve the second time around, others just improved more (others being players that were previously handicapped).

(Also Dream, yes it was at least 10 people that were dc'd, Skeppy has not played in 14 months and it was Fruit and Illumina.)

I really hope this doesn't need to be said, but DO NOT use this as a basis to harass Scott or Noxite or any of the Noxcrew. I really hope this clears up some misunderstandings and make some people feel better, not make things worse. It was a tough decision, but I think it was by far the right one. You can see for yourself how much of a difference the disconnects made. Noxcrew does a lot every month to bring us the wonderful event that is MCC, Scott made the teams we're all so fond of, they just released the closed beta of MCC Island. No, things weren't perfect or ideal, but it was out of their control. Besides, we've only had 2 MCCs out of 24 that was this level of scuffed and I think that's a pretty damn good track record.

PMMM AND REVUE STARLIGHT FAN SPOTTED UH . revue starlight pmmm au is rotating in my brain and I must ask what other people’s thoughts on the idea are so if I can, what do you think ?

Hi, first off thanks for the ask, I had a lot of fun with it! (It's also very long I had a lot of thoughts on this)

Keep in mind that my memory of pmmm is very sketchy so if something doesn't make sense that's why lol

I wasn't quite sure which way to interpret rs/pmmm au so I eventually decided on exploring what would happen if a RS character was placed in a pmmm character's shoes, backstory and all. For each of the five main pmmm characters I was going to choose two RS characters. One of which, if placed in pmmm, would not end up causing major changes to the story, and the other just for fun lol. Unfortunately, just Homura's got much longer than expected, so I only ended up doing her.

If you want to hear any more about the other castings or if I completely misinterpreted your ask pls lmk!! There are so many thoughts about rs/pmmm in here but I am so bad at getting them into words lol.

Casting: Homura Choices: Nana, Hikari The first candidates that come to mind for this role are Nana and Hikari, due to Nana's literal time looping and Hikari's I Will Perform Starlight Alone Forever stunt. At first glance, despite the lack time looping, Hikari seems to carry the most similarities to Homura. However, most of the similarities would not remain in pmmm, instead, it is Nana who would follow Homura's storyline.

If my goal was to create a story similar to pmmm canon as possible, I would choose Nana for Homura's role, as I believe that while they have different methods of achieving their goal within the loops, they would end up with similar outcomes (outcome being becoming the Devil).

Homura's goal is to save Madoka and prevent her becoming her from becoming a magical girl. Unfortunately, the only time Madoka ends up not dead or a magical girl is when she straight up ascends. Homura's inability to destory the magical girl system (kyubey....), means that she is unable to save Madoka. Nana too, when placed in Homura's situation, of trying to save loved ones from death and soul stealing in the loops, would try and fail. (Note: I am assuming that Nana also time stop/loop powers due to the similarities between early Homura and Nana, will explain more later down.)

Why? Because their storylines and characteristics have them working and winning within the system. To give some examples, this trait is why Maya and Claudine would never have won against Nana in her loops. All three excel within the system, but Nana is simply better with the system/stage then they are, and can consistently beat them. In contrast, it is Karen's nature to break the system, gate crashing the revues on Day 1, and she is the one who is able to put an end to Nana's loops. Nana is never going able to beat the system. Both she and Homura are able to manipulate more finely than most others, but neither were able to truly break it even if they tried (and Homura really tried). In the pmmm world, their story would be a tragedy because of who they are. Therefore, if looping were a constant failure instead of a constant success for Nana, we would eventually get a Devil Nana. (system vs system break characters still not making sense? sorry. good luck. words says this is it rip)

Now why would Nana get the same powers as Homura? Well, the granted powers seem to correlate to both the wish and who the girl is. Given that Nana literally also wishes to go back when faced with losing her friends (albeit in a less permanent way), I think it is safe to assume the wish would be the same. For characteristics, both Homura and Nana were lonely, unhappy kids. Upon getting a taste of friendship & the type of happiness that comes with it, they both latched on immediately, and would do anything to get it back/keep it. At their core, they are quite similar.

What they do primarily differ in is not their whys, but their hows. Homura acts as primarily as a lone wolf, relying on herself and her tools, and deals with the loneliness of the loops by keeping everyone but Madoka at arm's length. In contrast, Nana responds to loneliness by becoming as warm and friendly as possible in order to create more connections. Timelooping naturally causes emotional disconnect between those looping and those not. An yet, while Homura is forced to resort to becoming cold, Nana manages to consistently keep up the warm impression even while slowing losing some of her empathy (see scene where Nana barely pays attention to a classmate hitting their head bc of loops she knows they will be fine, not a great sign). That level of acting and emotional influence/manipulation? It's terrifying. No wonder she wiped the floor with everyone even in the original timeline. Homura faces major hurdles convincing the others to trust and believe in her. Nana would not. Or at least, not to the same degree.

Still, while their journeys would look different, their outcomes would likely be the same. Devil Nana anyone?

If Nana ended up being similar to Homura at their core and in likely canon trajectories while differing in methods, Hikari is the opposite. With Nana, enough of their backgrounds were similar that if placed in pmmm, she would not become a significantly different person. Hikari would.

While Hikari has many physical and behavioral similarities to Homura, they are at their core, fundamentally different people. Hikari and Homura share long straight black hair, names that start with H, the role of the mysterious transfer student, lone wolf tendencies, the desire to kidnap their loved ones, an aloof demeanor, a heavy promise, and having their soul stolen. However, many of these similarities are surface level or in their methods. They share the how, but RS Hikari and Homura have different whys and core struggles.

RS Hikari was not depicted as lonely child. She was quite outgoing, confident, had friends, and continued to have friends. Her promise, her why, was a shared long term goal. Homura and Nana's focus is on the past and present, while Hikari's lies in the future. When placed into pmmm, some aspects of Hikari would change, but not enough to be a copy of Homura, aka Hikari would definitely not be getting time travel powers.

Homura's heart disease would probably limit Hikari's ability to act, cutting her off from an activity that probably improved her confidence, social skills, and opportunities to make friends. To what extent is unclear, but given how Hikari was a lead in a play so young, it is likely she had a significant amount of confidence beforehand. Another change in circumstance would be the family support system or lack of. For Homura...yeah who knows but they're definitely not there. Hikari's is also a little unclear but we know they exist and played in active role in childhood at least. And someone had to be bankrolling all those prestigious schools she keeps switching between. My guess would be that PMMM Hikari would not be as shy as early Homura, more confident than Homura but less than RS Hikari, and maybe a little more cold than RS Hikari. She probably wasn't as desperate for friends as early Homura was. The conditions that made Hikari similar to Homura are no longer present, and so their non surface level similarities decrease when placed in similar conditions.

Homura made the wish that granted her time travel pre-Madoka promise. So if Hikari is different enough from Homura, both in wish and character, it is likely that she would not get time travel powers. Without the time travel powers, the promise would likely not be made. However, Hikari would likely still make a wish as the kyubey is a wiley fcking bastard. Assuming that her love for the stage remains, but PMMM lacks the physical means to explore it, her wish would likely be stage related. (If she was interested that young, discovery of her love for the stage is more a matter of time then accidental).

So magical girls Hikari and Madoka who trust the kyubey. Ah. Hm. On one hand Hikari gets to avoid time loop suffering and going insane. On the other hand, its pretty likely Hikari either dies or becomes a witch eventually so there's still suffering and insanity on the table. Oops. Sorry Hikari, this is not how I would thought you would end up.
