Sae acts cold, arrogant, and egoistic but when the reader is around him he turns into a soft and gentle simp for her.
🌱🩷: Someone asked me to do a one shot of that one post I made abt Sae simping for Isagi's sister. So I might as well write it like this! Hope u like it!
Warnings: Reader uses she/her. Requests are open
⚽️Blue Lock belongs to Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yusuke Nomura ⚽️
"Sis, can we get these? Mom won't mind, right?" Yoichi wondered, pointing at the box of chocolate that he was holding. (Y/n) looked away from the list Iyo gave her earlier and at the item her brother was holding.
"Hmm I don't know. Didn't you have enough sweets already?"
"Please. I didn't indulge in them for months. Blue Lock is torture." Yoichi pleaded with her for a good minute until (Y/n) ended up sighing and nodding her head.
"Fine. Put it in." She said, showing him the basket.
"Thanks, sis. You are the best!" Yoichi cheered, causing (Y/n) to blush a little.
"Ahh~ me? No, I am not. Don't flatter me too much." She laughed a little, not noticing someone looking at them.
"Ah... You two are here?" (Y/n) and Yoichi jumped in surprise and turned to look at the familiar figure.
"Sae-san? What are you doing here?" (Y/n) wondered as Yoichi raised an eyebrow at that as well.
"Mom wanted us to visit some family friends here in Saitama. I just grew bored of her picking what to buy as a present." Sae shrugged, causing (Y/n) to laugh a little.
"Ah~ it's not easy to pick gifts."
"Wait, is Rin here, too?" Yoichi raised an eyebrow, earning a nod from Sae.
"Yeah. A few isles down." He pointed and Yoichi took off there. The two older siblings stayed rooted to their spots, blinking at each other for a moment.
"So... You are back from Spain." (Y/n) said, trying to break the awkward silence.
"Obviously."
"Hahaha..." The girl laughed nervously at his harsh tone.
"Oh! Looks! Uhm... beans... my mom wanted some..." (Y/n) said as she noticed the cans and went to pick up a few, which wasn'tthe best idea as they were high up and she hhad to tip toe. Sae stared at her back silently.
'Why is he so cold? And what am I going to do with beans?!' She thought while sweating.
'So adorable.' He thought. He was interrupted by a sudden crash being heard to his left.
"What..." He muttered and looked back, only to find that some guy had tripped and the things he was holding fell on the ground.
'Such an idiot. How can one be so stupid to trip on nothing? Losers all around-'
"Ow!" Sae turned to look back at (Y/n), who had fallen on the ground with a can of beans next to her. The boy's heart stopped beating for a moment as he noticed her frown.
'So adorable! She is so cute.' Sae felt his cheeks dust a bright pink as he observed her face.
'That frown... literally could give anyone diabetes.' Sae thought when a boy around their age approached her, extending his hand out in the process
"Miss, are you alright? Let me help you up-"
Before the guy could finish, Sae was already there, hand grabbing onto (Y/n)'s.
"I will help you. Mind your business." The boy looked at Sae and flinched as he noticed the glare.
"S-sorry."He said back as he quickly backed away.
"That was so weird." (Y/n) muttered.
"Yeah, weird." Sae said, going back to his usual stoic face as (Y/n) got up.
"Thank you,Sae-san. Sorry for embarrassing you like this-"
"You didn't. Accidents happen." The words and much softer tone from Sae startled (Y/n) a little.
"Uh... are you sure?" She asked nervously.
"Of course. Come on now. We need to look for our brothers." Sae hummed as he dragged her away.
'Her hands are so soft.' Sae thought as he looked down at the hand he was holding.
'Why is he glaring at my hand?!' She gulped in fear.
A week later...
'This is so awkward....' (Y/n) thought as she looked out of the window, trying to distract herself by looking at the snow falling. Now, why would she be distracting herself? Easy answer! Sae Itoshi was sitting right across from her, staring/glaring into her soul.
'Oh! He is probably mad that Yoichi still didn't agree on joining Re Al! Ahhh, poor me!' She cried inwardly.
'Ahh~ she looks even cuter today! (F/c) definitely suits her! My adorable angel! How can someone so clumsy be so graceful?' Sae put his had over his chest. Heartbeat on an all time increase.
"Here you go, sir, miss. Ice tea and hot chocolate. Enjoy." A waitress said, putting down the beverages.
"Ah! Thank you." (Y/n) smiled at the woman as Sae nodded his head.
'That smile! Nobody compares to it-'
"Ouch!"
"Are you alright?" Sae turned to the couple sitting to his right, curious as to what happened.
"Yeah, it's just that I burned my tongue on the coffee. I wasn't aware how hot it was." The man answered, clearly embarrassing by it.
'Can't these people think for themselves?! It's coffee! A hot beverage, of course it will be hot-'
"Aww, hot hot hot." (Y/n) silently chanted, putting her hot chocolate away. Sae, alarmed, turned to look at her.
"Are you alright?"
"Y-yeah... I just burned my tongue on my hot chocolate." She laughed a little with a flushed face. Sae blinked at her for a moment.
'Ahh! Her cheeks look so adorable! It's alright, (Y/n). Let me help you! She is so cute, I could never be mad at her. It's the hot chocolate's fault anyways. Why was it so hot?' Sae glared at the beverage as he handed her his ice tea.
"Take a little bit of it. The cold will help your tongue."
(Y/n) blinked at it for a minute.
"But it's yours-"
"I don't care, drink it." Sae demanded.
"Ok." She said back, taking the cup and taking a few sips.
'You will be dealt with.' The pro-player thought, glaring at the abandoned hot chocolate.
"So... today's meet up wasn't about Yoichi?" (Y/n) wondered as both her and Sae walked down the street. The boy nodded for what felt like the 10th time. Usually, he would feel annoyed if he had to repeat himself, but that wasn't the case here.
'It's my fault, I should have been more clearer with my answers.' He thought, even if he said 9 times a clear 'no.'
"Oh... Then why did you invite me-" The girl cut herself off as she slipped on the ice. Closing her eyes, she was prepared to hit the ground, but instead felt two arms wrap themselves around her.
"Whew! That was close, are you hurt?" Sae thought, feeling his anxiety spike a little. Opening her eyes, (Y/n) looked up at him and shook her head.
"N-no, I am fine. Don't worry."
Sae nodded his head, keeping his arms still wrapped around her as they stood there in silence for a moment.
"Y-you can let go of me now." The girl said in embarrassment, and Sae was about to agree when something hit him.
'What if she slips again and falls for real?! What if someone pushes her to the ground?! What if she hits herself?! No! I can't let that happen!' The boy nodded to himself.
"What are you doing?!" (Y/n) exclaimed as Sae lifted her up into his arms as started carrying her.
"Just making sure."
"S-sure?! For what? S-Sae-san, this is embarrassing." (Y/n) said as her face turned a dark red.
'So adorable!!' Sae thought, ignoring the confused stares of the people around them.
'She is so soft~' He sighed, looking down at her dreamily.

So! In order to keep myself from losing my goddamn mind in the aftermath of that G-Witch episode (how are we supposed to wait two weeks for the next episode I swear to fuck), I want to take a second and focus on something this show has done exceptionally well, but that I haven’t really seen talked about at all. Namely, the fact that Suletta is one of the best examples of an overpowered protagonist I’ve ever seen.
And yes, she is canonically overpowered. As long as she has Aerial by her side, she can curb-stomp pretty much every opponent without breaking a sweat. Time and again, she goes up against impossible odds and wipes the floor with them The best duelist at school? Chump. Facing multiple opponents alone and outnumbered? Child’s play. And honestly, I was starting to get annoyed by it around the end of the first season. How are we supposed to believe Suletta’s ever going to be in danger if she’s so ludicrously stronger than everyone else?
And then The Slap happened, and everything turns upside-down.
See, what makes season 1′s cliffhanger ending so goddamn powerful isn’t just the sight of our cheerful bumbling protagonist liquifying a living person into red paste in front of her horrified fiance. It’s not just the realization of how deep Prospera’s manipulation has twisted Suletta’s sense of identity. No, the real secret behind The Slap’s brilliance is that it retroactively makes every single moment of Overpowered Suletta fucking terrifying. Suddenly, we realize that her overwhelming strength in battle is a direct result of Prospera’s influence, raising her to be the perfect pawn in her little scheme. The reason she’s able to knock the socks off every single opponent she faces isn’t just Latent Protag Syndrome; it’s because her mother crafted her into a relentless warrior with the strength to destroy any obstacle in the path to her revenge. Suletta’s strength in battle isn’t just overwhelming; it’s dangerous, to herself and everyone around her. And the second she has to unleash that strength in a situation more serious than a no-casualties school sporting match, it becomes instantly, horrifyingly clear that she is in no way ready to grapple with the great responsibility that comes with such great power.
In other words, what first seemed like just a case of another anime protagonist winning every fight because reasons turns on its head and makes that overpowered nature a source of fear, both for the audience and for Miorine. So instead of ending up a boring tension-killer where we’re never afraid for Suletta’s safety, the fact that she’s capable of such force becomes the most critical source of tension and conflict driving her and Miorine’s story in the second season. Suletta being so overpowered is an explicit character flaw, at least as long as Prospera’s claws are in her. Because just because she can punch away any physical threat in her path doesn’t mean she’s not vulnerable in countless other areas. She may be the strongest in a fight, but she has nowhere near the strength of character to deal with the political schemes and emotional burdens that come about as a result of that strength. All that skill on the battlefield doesn’t mean shit when you can’t see how that skill is being manipulated for dark ends, or causing you to take on stress and trauma you have no healthy way of coping with. Suletta can smash her way to victory in any fight, and yet she’s the most vulnerable, least protected person in the entire cast, in no small part thanks to the forces that made her so strong in the first place.
There’s a reason characters like Saitama from One Punch Man and Mob from Mob Psycho 100 are so beloved, despite being so overpowered. ONE knows that in order to make an overpowered character interesting, you need to give them struggles beyond the scope of their powers to fix. Saitama can punch a mountain in half, but he can’t punch his way out of existential ennui; that’s just as much of a struggle for him as any normal person. Mob’s psychic powers can’t solve his emotional turmoil or provide him the perfect path toward maturity; he has to figure that out himself. They are overwhelmingly strong in fights, but the primary conflict of their stories has very little to do with those fights and everything to do with their growth as people. They’re stories about how even being the strongest person alive doesn’t protect you from the challenges of life that everyone on this planet faces, and their journeys to self-actualization are enormously compelling as a result. No one remembers the overpowered exploits of Isekai Harem Protagonist du jour; everyone remembers watching Saitama and Mob slowly find their way forward in life, one simple step at a time.
Suletta, in my eyes, is very much in the same vein. Like Saitama and Mob and all the best overpowered protagonists, her writing understands that being incredibly skilled in one area doesn’t mean you can’t be challenged in others- and in Mob’s case especially, how that incredible skill can actually be the biggest obstacle for the challenge you actually need to overcome. Suletta’s skill in battle is made compelling by her lack of that same skill in other areas, and the ultimate conflict of Gundam Witch is a conflict she cannot punch her way out of. If she’s going to survive this chaos and live happily every after with Miorine, she will need to struggle to overcome her years of conditioning and emotional uncertainty. She will need to struggle just as Mob struggled, just as Saitama struggled, not just to learn the skills she hasn’t developed yet, but to push back against the influence that resulted in her being so freakishly strong in the first place. Suletta is an overpowered protagonist who’s overpowered nature is, itself, the greatest challenge she will have to overcome in order to truly save herself and the people she loves. And I think that’s really damn neat.

“H-Hey! Sai.. wait up. It’s crowded!” You shouted after your friend pushing through the crowd of people. Once you got close to Saitama you gripped the hem of his shirt, nervous the two of you might get separated again.
The two of you were making your way to one of your favorite cafes that served the most adorable themed meal sets for different holidays and events. Typically they booked out weeks in advance but you were able to snag a spot for Valentine’s Day. You bumped into your friend’s back when he stopped walking abruptly.
“You’re going to wrinkle my shirt,” Saitama looked down at your hand grabbing onto his shirt and grimaced, “I don’t need to hear Geno’s explain his entire steaming and ironing process to me again.”
He nonchalantly grabbed your hand and continued walking to the cafe. You felt your heart flutter at the sudden contact, you knew he was only doing so you didn’t get lost in the crowd, but it still made your heart skip a beat to have your hand in his. You looked up at him momentarily to see him scanning the masses of couples around the two of you in the shopping plaza.
“What the hell is going on? It’s a Tuesday.” Saitama complained, as he half dragged you along next to him. Seeming to forget in his irritation that his stride is a lot longer than yours, “They must be giving something away for free or something.”
You let out an awkward laugh at his response, you knew it was a big ask getting him to go to these events with you. But you always paid for the meals and more often than not it seemed like Saitama actually took some enjoyment in seeing the cutesy food. He gave you a confused look and then simply shrugged continuing to walk closer to the restaurant. Your skin prickled as you looked around at the heart balloons in the streets, vendors selling bouquets of flowers.. Did Saitama not realize? .. No, no he had to know.
Once the two of you were seated together for your reservation, your anxiety only grew. The atmosphere of the cafe was more romantic than usual, with hearts plastered on the windows, pink garland hanging for the ceiling. When the waitress came over, Saitama automatically told her that the two of you were just going to get whatever the special was since that’s why you were there anyway.
Saitama leaned back in his chair casually, “Ah, I’m so hungry. I hope this special is good.”
He impatiently flipped around the menu she had left ‘just in case’ before pausing slightly and looking around, “It’s Valentine’s Day today?”
Immediately your stomach dropped as you looked across the table at your bald-headed friend. Your fears had come to fruition. You really had intended this to be a date for the two of you but it was becoming increasingly clear that Saitama didn’t get the memo, “I mean I did tell you the 14th when we made the plans but we don’t have to make a big deal about it..”
The two of you became distracted by a group of snickering teenage girls two tables down from you, their barely hushed conversation, floating easily over to your table.
“Hey, doesn’t that guy kind of look like that Caped Baldy guy?” One girl loudly whispered pointing in Saitama’s direction. Your immediate response was to roll your eyes. It was still rare for people to recognize him, but often wasn’t taken very seriously.
Another giggle followed, “I bet he had to beg for that date.”
Not only was Saitama unaware that he was on a date, now he was being harassed by a group of kids on said date he did not agree to be on. Perfect, just how you wanted this to go, you put your head in your hands weighing the pros and cons of getting into a verbal argument with two teenagers.
Your server finally returned after what felt like an eternity with the special. On the small table between you and Saitama laid a plate with ‘Fluffy Fluffy Heart Pancakes’ piled high with whipped cream and berries and next to that was a parfait cup containing the ‘Layers of Love’.
“I—,” Your cheeks were burning with embarrassment, feeling the need to backtrack and escape the pending rejection. “Sai, you know I love themed food events.. and I just..”
“Are you going to take your picture of it or what?” Saitama shot you an impatient look, pointing at the pancakes. You usually warned him to not dig in immediately because you wanted a quick picture for social media, “I’m hungry and this whipped cream is melting.”
Relieved to see Saitama was clearly unphased by the whole situation and still focused on getting on with the date, well not date, you grabbed your phone from your bag and snapped a few quick shots of the food. Not without remarking on how cute everything was.
He grabbed a fork and started eating the pancakes, “And I like going to them with you. The Christmas one was fun,” between mouthfuls of food, “I would have agreed to a date, you know?”
You pouted, grabbing a spoonful of sickenly sweet parfait, “I didn’t think you’d be dense enough to not realize this was a date!”

“No! Absolutely not!” She stood on the couch and pointed at Saitama, as if accusing him. Genos walked in and froze. “What is going on here, master?” Saitama turned to Genos and shrugged. “Don't you shrug, baldy!” She jumped down from the couch and went to punch Saitama, but he dodged. “Don't call me baldy, baldy!” “Okay, Genos,” she jumped over to Genos, trying to avoid punches from Saitama as he tried to push in front of her. “We need you to help us settle an argument.” “Why are you and Master Saitama arguing?” “See-” She was cut off by Saitama pushing in front of her and putting her in a headlock. “See, she thinks that girls aren’t interested in beefy dudes with facial hair-” “Because they're not!!!!!” “But all I see is girls swooning over a dude with a 50 pack who has like a massive beard. So-” “So,” she pushed Saitama away from her and shoved him back. “We’re trying to see whether or not girls are into ripped dudes with facial hair or skinny dudes with an actual personality.” Genos stared at them both blankley. “S-Sorry. I do not know how to solve this argument.” “It's simple, Genos,” she grabbed Saitama by the waist so he couldn't take another step towards Genos. “Which one do you think girls are more into? Guys with a real personality and not an 80 pack? Or dudes who have facial hair and are ripped?” Genos stood for a moment, thinking, while she and Saitama watched, hoping that their side would be validated by a cyborg putting a bright pink apron on. “Is this an opinion based argument or a fact based argument?” She turned to Saitama, who just shrugged. “Uh… we don't really know.” “Perfect then.” Genos walked over to the laptop that was sitting on the coffee table and she and Saitama waited in suspense.
After what felt like hours, Genos shut the computer, turning to the two of them. “Well, according to studies online, women prefer men with clean shaven facial hair, they find them more physically attractive. And there is also a study that claims that women find the abs to be the sexiest muscle on a man. So, Master Saitama is correct.” “Yes!” Saitama went to cheer, but she punched him in the gut, which didn't do much, but it did catch him off guard. “Hey! What was that for?!” “That’s bullshit!!!! What do studies know about women?! Okay, how about this, what’s your opinion, Genos?” “Nope,” Saitama stood up, clearly proud of himself. “The arguments already settled, cutie. I won.” “That’s stupid.” “Cry about it.” Saitama gave her a peck on the lips and she pouted, turning away. “Well, I find you hot, Sai, and you don't have facial hair.” “Good point. However,” Saitama pulled up his shirt, revealing his abs. “I have those hot ass washboard abs. So you failed, goofnut.” Her face slowly grew red and she threw her arms around the back of his neck. He rested his hands on her hips and smiled, pressing his nose to hers. “Okay,” she pressed a kiss on the corner of his mouth and smiled. “So what do men prefer, a girl with giant bazongas or a girl with personality?” “Personality, obviously!” “Yeah, well it seems that boobs are a pretty big statement these days!”
Genos began the dishes with a smile. It was clear how much she loved Master Saitama.

"BIG SIS!!!!"
Well, we made it to Hancocks ship, as two beautiful women, and more women, hopped off her ship, onto the heart pirates ship, as they happily greeted her thankful she returned safely.
While that was happening, Ivankov and her crew were about to leave, as she trusted Jimbei, Ace, and Luffy to stick with me, as well as Crocodile. "Now! I trust you four with her, you all don't mind if I leave things to you?!" Her question made Jimbei nod. "No...it is fine. I can't swim yet anyway. The least I can do is stay here until she gets well." Crocodile nodded in agreement, leaning against the rail. "I owe her a favor..." Ace smiled. "Same here! She saved my life, I need to thank her in person." Luffy chuckled. "She needs to Join my crew!" The three looked to her, as crocodile scoffed. "What makes you think she'd join you, brat...?" Luffy whipped to him. "BECAUSE SHE'S MY FRIEND THAT'S WHY!" Crocodile cringed. "That's not how you belive she'd join you, just because she's your friend." "SHUT UP LEATHER PURSE! YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING!" "What did you call me?!" "You heard me!! She will join my crew!!!" Ivankov chuckled at the sight of the two arguing, as Ace crossed his arms. "That's my brother for you, though, I won't go against him though, Y/n-san is pretty powerful, she seems fit for Luffy's crew." Jimbei nodded. "Indeed, it's going to be interesting how things play out. Ivankov...Ace....since we all were locked in the most brutal prison in the world...without her, all of us wouldn't have met each other....or to Save you.." Ace chuckled, as Ivankov smiled. "Your quite right, Jimbie, both of us tried our best to keep up with Luffy and Y/n-girl at Marineford, didn't we? It's hard to say goodbye to you both..but I have sweet candies waiting for me to come back to the kingdom....." She started to tear up. "Please take good care of Y/n-girl!!" Jimbei nodded, as well as Ace, accepting her plea, as the Marine ship sale went down, as Ivankov crew setted sail, as both parties said their goodbyes, the others headed to the Miaden Island, Amazon lilly which was home to Boa, the female only empire where men are prohibited.
Theirs also tribes of femal fighters that lives there as well, known as Kuja, as the ship aproached two large doors, which opened.
Behind it, many females living on the island greeted the snake princes back home.
Others were hesitant as they saw men on the ship, but stopped when they met Luffy, as Boa told them they were not the enemy. "A female who battled with Luffy is on that ship! She suffered greatly, mentally, and physically during the battle at Marineford, and she's hanging between life and death now." The females eyes widened with her statement as she turned to them. "Ladies, Carry Y/n to the Kuja Castle as soon as possible!" "Hold on Hancock!!!" She paused when looking to an older lady. "It's fine if it's just the lady. But we can't allow those men on that strange ship to step foot onto the Maiden Island. It's against our country's policy!" Her words made Boa's brows furrow. "Then at least let the doctor on to help her-" "No!" The granny interupted. "We can't allow any men to come onto the island, even if he is a doctor! We have so many good doctors on this island!" She spoke, as Law leaned against his ship wall, holding a blank face. "Well, I don't care either way, but..do you have the same medical equipmen and technology as my ship?" He asked, glaring to the old lady, who was iritated with his statement, which was true as he continued. "If her wounds open up, she is going to die.." He stated, Hancocks eyes widened as a smirk formed onto his lips. "Take her, if you don't care about it." He finsihed, as Jimbei stepped forwards. "It's obvious that we can't save Y/n-san without this man. If he can't come in, we have no choice. We must go somewhere else." He spoke, as Boa clenched her fists. "Impossible! We'd be attacked by the Sea Kings! Even if we get awa from them, the Navy could find us at anytime!" The granny sighed. "Oh well...we only do it as an exception but...you can stay in the area of th bay. The Sea Kings won't attack you there." Everyone was greatful for her kindeness, as the submarine took action to that area, the ladies of the island wishing my health will go well.
Though, with all the waiting and time, two weeks have passed, as I was still not awake, as Law had been treating me, while Ace, Crocodile, and Luffy never left, as everyone stayed at the bay side.
"How much longer do we have to stay in such a small space..." Someone spoke. "Yeah, the only thing to look forward to is...-"
"Guys! Sorry to keep you waiting! It's meal time!" The polar bear, and the three men who were playing cards smiled, as the women working with Boa brought baskets of food, veggies, and stuff to eat.
Luffy's eyes had stars, drool escaping his mouth, as Ace chuckled, a smile onto his face. "Guess we don't have to worry about starving anymore." Crocodile took a cigar out of his mouth. "We wouldn't starve anyway if we hadn't stayed here.."
Everyone started to get food, as Law and crocodile weren't hungry, a sboth of them were leaning against the tree, as a blonde women walked up to them. "Excuse me.." Law looked up at her. "Is she awake..yet?" His head shook. "I see." she spoke. "It's up to Y/n-ya's spirit." Law spoke, looking up at her. "Whether she's willing to live or not." He finished, leaving thoughts in her head, as one of her allies called her, as she left to go help.
But, as things were starting to calm down, my eyes shot open, rememebring the events of whitebead getting shot down by black beard, as well as Akainu trying to hurt ace and Luffy, Mihawk fighitng me, as well as the dead bodies of pirates caused by mariens.
All of those memories flooded in my head, sweat dripping from my forhead.
I looked down, seeing wires hooked up to me, just like when I was little as it brought tragic memories, as my breaths started to quicken.
The wires...the postion...the saem feeling long ago...I didn't like it...I didn't like it at all...I needed to get out of her...
I let out a painful scream, ripping the wires off of me as it alerted people outside, as the gorund then rumbled, an explosion happening inside the ship.
Smoke arose in the medical area, some of Laws crew, trying to get me to lay back down as I slowly walked passed them. "Lady! Lay back down! Unless you want to drestroy the ship!!" My breaths were heavy, my head simply turning as my blank, emotionless eyes looked to them, which sended shivers down their spines. "P-Pops..." I mumbled...remembering whitebeards death clearly, as outside, Ace, Law, and Jimbei ran forwards to the ship, before the roof of the submarine broke open, as I came out of it, landing behind them harshly, the ground shaking.
This shocked everyone, even crocodile, who looked at me with wide eyes, mixed with worry, as I tried to sit back up, but I still was in utter pain, my hands gripping the grass below me, my nails digging into the dirt.
"P-Pops..." I brokenly spoke...my eyes white, as I repeated it multiple times. Ace, underatnding how I felt as he took a step forwards, his face lined with remorse and sadness for me, until he saw me sat up, looking to the sky. "WHERE IS WHITEBEARD?!" I screamed, worry, sadness, and anger hitting my voice.
Tears were streaming down my face, as I started to bolt, looking for the man to see if he was alright, as I was unable to save him back at marineford.
But, to my knowledge, he was dead, as Luffy and lawd crew were trying to stop me, as Law, Ace, Jimbei, and Crocodile were sitting in a circle, just watching. "What happens if we leave her like this..?" Jimbei asked, as Lawy sighed. "It's simple. Like I said when we got here, if her wounds open up, she will die." Crocodile scoffed. "Easy for you to say when she has the energy of the rubber brat...." The four looked to me, tripping on a rock, as the crew and Luffy saw the chance to hold me down, as I struggled with their grip. "Let me go!! I need to get to the old man! He needs medical attention!" I screamed, Luffy still trying to hold me down. "Y/n-san! Please calm down!" "NO! Let me go Luffy!" I yelled, as the crew still were trying to hold me down. "Shut up! I'm looking for pops!" I yelled, as one of Laws crew members spoke. "I told you that White beard is-" "I SAID.." All of them scattered, even Luffy as I threw them off of me. "LET ME GO!" I bolted from them, as I headed more deep in the forest, as I wanted to look for whtiebeard, as Crocodile got up from his spot, before Ace stopped him. "Let me talk to her..." Crocodile glared down at him. "Why should I let you to that...?" Ace looked to the warlord. "Because her and I lost the same person we care about..." Crocodile understood, as he couldn't argue with his comment, as he simply sat back down, as Ace walked in the direction I was heading, as his ears could hear the trees getting destroyed by my anger.
My fists were bleeding, my breaths broken and raspy, my eyes shaking as I looked straight at the ground, but I realised, that I wasn't at marineford when I noticed the grass, as I looked up to brids flying over my head, and the blue sky. "W-Where am I?" I asked, wondering if it was all a dream...as I kept looking at the sky, as my memoires were still coming back to me, as whitebeard did die of black beards hands, as well as many other pirates dying by the head of marines, even a giant Orc that Ace cared about.
All the information made me clutch the sides of my face, my knees giving out as I started to whale, and cry, now knowing that whitebeard is truly dead.
Ace saw this, as he rushed, his eyes widened, as he caught me in his arms, his knees hitting the grass as all he could do was wrapp his arms around me as I cried.
"Y/n...." He spoke...as with all my pent up emoitions inside of me...I just cried into him, not wanting to even speak at all.
"The war is over.." He whispered. "Pops is..." "DON'T SAY THAT!" I snapped, my face looking up to him, as my eyes were red and puffy, which made his heart hurt. "Don't say anything!" I pleaded. "I already pinched myself hard enough to rip my skin! If it were a dream, I should've woken by now!" I continued, Ace's eyebrows furrowing more, as he listened to me, as closed my eyes, looking down. "I-It's not a dream, isn't it...? I-I wasn't able to....." Ace's grip on me tightened, his teeth gritting with sadnes as slight tears escaped his eyes as well. "Y-Yes...Cutie....p-pops...is dead.." His truthful words struck my heart harshly more, as tears continued to poor, as I clutched onto him more and more.
I stayed like that for a couple of minutes, Ace crying with me as well, as he knew whitebeard basically his whole life, as he understood how I was feeling. "I...I coudln't save him...I-I-I was suppose to be a hero...a hero w-who brings fairness to everyone...b-but I couldn't save h-him...I-I-I'm so weak...!" I sobbed, my confession making Ace's eyes widened with shock, as his grip around me tightened more, as he brought me even closert to him. "Cutie..." "A-Ace...p-please leave me be...! Go to the others..!" He sighed with my request. "I can't..I can't just watch you hurt yourself anymore..." My face grew frustraited as I looked up at him. "It's my body! Why does it matter to you-" "Then you can't blame Whitebeard for doing what he did! It wasn't your fault that he was Killed, he was killed by teaches hands! His death was nothing of your buisness!" My teeth gritted, as I gripped his shoulders.
"Shut up! It was fully my buisness! I was fighting in that War as well, and I promised him that he and I will both save you together, with no death's at all!" He cupped my face. "That's a stupid promise Y/n!" He gently spoke. "War isn't kittens and rainbows, you can't expect evberyone to live! That's not how life works! Someone had to make a sacrafice, somepeople had to die...! I know ho wyour feeling, I know what your goign through because Pops was an actually father to me!" His confession made my teeth grit, as I closed my eyes. "So don't you dare say it's your fault he died, because me and I both know it wasn't, it was supposed to be me who was supposed to die, not him!" My eyes shot open with his statement, as I looked to him with furrowed eyebrows. "A-Ace-" "It's true! I was meant to be executed! But, now do you see!? Things are more clear for you now, you belvied that you can bring fairness to everyone, that you could overcome anything just like Luffy. Althoguht you never doubted your strength, you still had a kind heart for people, no matter if marines or pirates! But all those formidable enemies you faced, all of those words from Blackbeard, your confidence was slipped away, all because your motion was to become the greatest hero, which was your guid to life!" His words made my fist clench, as he whipped some continuing falling tears from my eyes, as his forhead leaned gently against my own. "I know you have lost a lot...and the toughest enemies in the world blocked your way time after time...but you'll never find your true self like this...if your lost in full regret and guilt.....I know that it's painful now, Cutie, but you have to bottle up those feelings! Don't just think about the ones you've lost, when you can make new memoroeis with new people you have met!" My eyes widened from his words, as my body stopped, realisation hit me as I rememebred Luffy's words back on that Marine ship.
"Well if you decided to stay, wanna join my crew?" I gasped, before standing up. "L-Luffy!" More tears pooled out of my eyes, as I still had my answer to tell him.
I finally understand what I want to do in my life, as all of the past that happened to me, the war, my cancer, Saitama and pops death...everything that could bring me back down...didn't matter, as new doors were opened for me, as I had an oppourtunity to grow.
Looking up at Ace, I clutched to him again. "W-Were's Luffy?! I-I need to see him, I need to give him an answer, I-I-" Ace smiled, knowing what I'm talking about as his hand reached out to me. Without hesitation, I grabbed it as he helped me to my feet. Hugging him, my eyes closed “Thank you…” I whispered, as he hugged me back. “Of course… let’s get back to everyone else..” nodding we headed back as quickly as possible as my eyes looked to the sky, slightly smiling as I finally knew the truth.
Even through the hard times, with white-beards death, Saitama…my cancer…and life in general…I gave to push forwards, forget about the past and grow stronger and better mentally.
Because even though I was trapped and corrupted, now I found people who freed me, and will never leave my side…and I must do the same, even if I don’t leave this world.
As everyone near the ship was talking, Luffy saw me and Ace instantly, as he hopped up, smiling and running to me. “Y/n!” I smiled to, leaving Ace and running to him as well. “Luffy!” We both hugged each other, his arms going around my waist as he spin me around. Hugging me more, his hands grasped the side of my face as his forehead leaned against mine. “Your ok..your really ok..I was so worried you’d hurt yourself...or something worse..” He told me, as his voice was slightly cracked. I gently smiled, and adjusted his hat. “How could I let myself go down when I need to join your crew?” He was confused with your words at first, not believing them as his eyes widened. “C-Come again?” I giggled from his words” The whole time we were at marine ford..when you asked me that question on that marine ship, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I realized when I was kicking the shit out of those trees, I might not be able to go back to my world and to be honest, I don’t ever want to go back….this world here, I’ve never experienced so much excitement in my life. I can fight things without killing it with one punch, I-I can fit in as this world doesn’t care about what others look like, I have already made so many friends…” I look to everyone, as they all looked to me, as I looked back at Luffy, smiling more. “Even you…you’ve been by my side since stout saved me from that Jail, you never judge of what I do, say or how I fight, you know how to get a problem done and fix it, and you care for others. In my eyes, that is a wonderful captain who’s crew I’d love to join…” he smiled from my words, his heart racing as he let out a shaky sigh, as he didn’t know what to say at all. “I-I- Y/n-San you don’t know how much that means to me…you’d be a great fit for my crew, and I don’t care if your weak, tall, tiny, fat, skinny, with hair, or bald, I just know that I want to give you the same fairness as you did to me…and also give you the adventures, excitement, and fun you wanted your whole life because no person deserves to go through what you’ve been through. So yes, you are now apart of my crew, and I promise Y/n, I will not fail you as a friend, and as a captain…”
Smiling, I gently grasped his hands, as I looked straight into Luffy’s eyes. “I know Luffy….”
Leaning my forehead against his, my eyes closed as the wind blew on us both, creating a calm atmosphere.
“I have pure faith in you…”

OPM Manga Update 229 Review:
No reason for this image, just me enjoying Saitama's meaty thighs. That's all.
Tumblr media
Story: Like putting lipstick on a hyena
We open with Tatsumaki taking a phone call. She's dismissive of the idea of shooting a commercial to promote the Hero Association to prospective heroes -- until she remembers Saitama talking about how he'd once been weak and agrees. Let it be noted that Tatsumaki doesn't do anything half-assed: she throws herself into the role of ambassador with such enthusiasm that she ends up trashing the studio.
Tumblr media
She is less than impressed with what comes out of the session: a cutesy, saccharine call girl simpering in a commercial, about as true a reflection of Tatsumaki as lipstick and a pink bowtie on a spotted hyena. Fubuki, unfortunately, comes home [1] just as Tatsumaki gets hung up on. Oh, dear, there goes the roof. Looks like they'll be staying in hotels for a bit -- ar at Hero Association HQ -- while the damage is fixed.
Tumblr media
More goings on under the cut.
I'd love to blame Amai Mask for producing the AI-edited monstrosity. But the true blame lies with McCoy. He orchestrated the campaign. The public lap it up, it conforming to an image that's palatable to see [I have A LOT to say about this but that's another post.]
Tumblr media
Nastier-minded people would have asked, 'which organization', but so it goes when one has the benefit of the doubt
After the HA executives praise McCoy for his adroit management of the HA's image, they (especially a guy I'm calling Walrus 'stache) turn to the recruitment figures to find...
...ah, let me wind back a second. It's true that the Hero Association is always recruiting, but it's taken on additional urgency with Metal Knight having apparently thrown billions of Yen away on infrastructure and weaponry that don't work [2] and Tatsumaki being unmanageable. We return to the story...
...that...
...the ad campaign had made no difference. The Hero Association approval ratings were up, but recruitment was still on its downward slide.
Tumblr media
What gave?
The answer comes from two other conversations happening contemporaneously. One is between a Hero Association scout and Axel, the leader of a vigilante group known as The Hunters, the other between another scout and a super-sumo champion named Raiden. In each case, the scout is sent off with a flea in their ear as the prospect in question has another engagement.
Tumblr media
Yes, there's another hero organization in the wings, and it's hoovering up as much talent as it can find. It's even reaching out to current heroes.
Tumblr media
We cut to a very dapper-looking Genos being asked by a very tired-looking Dr Kuseno what his intentions are, given this information and the former's feelings about the Hero Association. Genos starts to answer, but we'll have to wait for the answer as the scene switches to Saitama doing a spit-take as he sees the commercial.
Meta: Finally, some good fucking food
Tumblr media
Everything can be faked (except truth)
Many people have already noted the jab at AI fakery inherent in 'Tatsumaki's ad,' so I won't belabour the point. I shall leave it to another post.
Tumblr media
Alas, heroes don't grow on trees
The Hero Association's newfound desperation to find new heroes has been a long time coming. People who make good heroes are rare critters. There is not only the need for exceptional ability (even C-Class heroes are incredible), but there's also a need for willingness to serve as a hero, moral principles, and stability under very trying circumstances. Fooled by the previously buoyant numbers of applicants, leading to 55 Hero Tests being conducted as of the time Saitama and Genos applied, they've applied an 'easy-come, easy-goes' attitude to their recruits. When they should instead have recognised them as rare talent to be nurtured, even the lower-class heroes. Looks like there have been seven more Hero Tests since those two joined, and the news has not been good.
Tumblr media
At no point does the HA appear to have had more than 600 heroes on the books: retention seems to have been a big problem. It fits in well with the executive Gobrich's frustration with the situation that support for heroes is too top-down and hasn't listened to their actual needs and concerns. Bushohige (the Bearded Worker) has made similar points -- but no one's listening to him, either!
Sekingar at least appears to have seen the light in this regard and at least appreciates that heroes, whatever their abilities, need to be used *well* rather than be treated as a disappointment for not being S-Class heroes. But he's just one person and has only recently been promoted.
And now... with the advent of actual competition, the spigot of fresh new bodies to take in and use up has largely dried up. What a to do!
Speaking of drying up
Genos is draining the very life out of Kuseno at the moment -- it reminds me of Uu and Reigen. Yes, the doctor made him a cyborg, and so on one level, he can't really complain if he's the it man when it comes to giving him upgrades. But Kuseno is all alone. The stress of worrying about Genos when the latter casually dumps horrors on him and the burden of designing upgrades (how do you God-proof a person, anyway?) is really getting to him. And he has no one to talk to, let well alone share the burden with. [3]
Tumblr media
Try not to die of overwork, doctor! At least not before you can find Genos a new situation.
Asides
[1] Looks like Fubuki lives with Tatsumaki in the manga. Either that or she lives close by and has a key. Love to see it.
[2] Truly an eavesdropper hears no good of themselves. The manga change from Metal Knight being scolded in person to overhearing it is brilliant.
Tumblr media
[3] In a kinder world, Kuseno would be able to call Bang to at least have a sympathetic ear (heh, and Bang had a personality transplant). Kind and ONE don't mix, at least when it comes to his fictional characters, so too bad.

"SHIT, SUGURU."
He laughed, wincing as he jostled a budding bruise on his upper arm. "You could at least say hello."
"Hi," Y/N teased, bending to his eye-level where he sat on one of the infirmary beds, brushing some of his hair out of his face to kiss his cheek. "Where’s Shoko?"
"Out with Satoru, I think. They got sent to some village in the middle of nowhere to deal with a semi-grade 1. It got a bunch of civilians, so they had to send her."
She hummed to acknowledge the information, busying herself with trying to dig out some medical supplies, since it appeared her boyfriend was still in too much pain to patch himself up. "Where were you this time?"
"Three blocks away. I think the higher-ups set me up, because that curse had to have been close to special grade."
She winced sympathetically, returning to his side to dab with an antiseptic swab at some of his cuts. "Are they making you … you know."
He pulled a black orb out of his pocket in response, rolling it about in his palm once before putting it away disgustedly. "I’ll deal with it later. You were in Saitama, right? Are you okay?"
"Me? Ah, I’m fine." Y/N shook her head, measuring out part of a roll of gauze. "I had to exorcise fifteen or so lower grade spirits, nothing much. I’m more worried about you."
Suguru closed his eyes, tilting his face away from her. "Sorry."
She frowned. "For what?"
"Making you patch me up. I probably should’ve just ingested the curse and gotten on with it."
"Suguru?"
"Hmm?"
"Shut up."
He huffed out another soft chuckle at that. "Sorry."
It didn’t take Y/N long to clean out his wounds (most seemed to be fairly minor at skin level, Suguru was just experiencing a deep exhaustion due to overuse of his technique), but she lingered awkwardly after washing her hands and disposing of the used medical supplies. "Do you want me to leave for this part?"
He was rolling the compacted curse around his hand again, but his attention snapped to her the moment he registered her sentence. "Please don’t."
She pulled a chair up to his bedside, twining her fingers together with his. "Okay. Let me know what you need me to do, then."
Suguru nodded, making face for a brief moment before pushing it into his mouth, his expression contorting into revulsion as he struggled to swallow it in its entirety.
Y/N gently tilted his head back with two fingers, waiting until his throat bobbed as the curse slid down it before she released her support. He gasped, coughing violently with his free hand over his mouth and bending over.
"It’s okay," Y/N tried to say in her lightest voice, though her stomach was twisting at the fact of seeing him in such discomfort. "Let me get some water."
She felt utterly helpless as she raised a cup to his mouth, tightening her grip on his hand and trying to convey her presence with the warmth of her fingers.
"Zero stars," Suguru wheezed, in a weak attempt of humour, downing two more consecutive glasses of water. "Would not leave a good review on Yelp. Please improve customer service."
Y/N giggled, abandoning her chair to squeeze beside him in the pathetically small infirmary bed, pressing close to his side. "Want me to kiss it better?"
"I probably taste gross," he said. "I mean, I want to throw up every time I put that shit in my mouth. It tastes like someone threw up in my mouth."
Not to be deterred, she pressed her lips to his for a moment, immediately yanking back with a hand over her mouth. "Oh my God."
"I told you," Suguru teased, pretending to lean in again.
"Gross," Y/N whined, rolling away and nearly falling off the edge of the bed. "You’re right, it was disgusting."
"I’m sorry," he apologised, a genuine regret in his voice. "I mean, I don’t think anyone should ever have to taste that."
"No, like …" She pressed herself back to his side again, head nestled in the crook of his neck. "That’s fine. I don’t mind tasting that a bit if it makes you fell better. If anything, I’m sorry you have to do that regularly."
They lay in silence for a moment.
"Was that cotton candy flavour in your chapstick?" Suguru grinned.
"Seriously?" Y/N laughed, feeling his body shake with his amusement.
"Answer the question!"
"Yes, you’re right."
"Mm." His hand squeezed her at the waist, fingers tracing a pattern she couldn’t make out.  "Tastes good."
"You’re insufferable," she groaned.
"What I am is your boyfriend, Y/N," he smirked, voice cracking in amusement as she pretended to huff. "But I like that chapstick."
She reluctantly prised herself out of his hold to stand and get more water. "Well, you can kiss it off me later. After you’ve brushed your teeth."
"That’s so unfair!" he protested. "You kissed me first!"
Y/N tilted her head over her shoulder to respond. "I love you, but that was disgusting, and I’m not doing it again."
Suguru pulled his legs up to his chest, staring at her with an open tenderness. "I love you too."
She glanced back at him, sighing at his puppy eyes. It took barely five seconds before she gave in and strode back to his side, kissing his temple briefly. "I know. You can kiss me all you want later."
He grinned cheekily. "I think I will."

AU where Camie has OfA
Yagi happened to catch a local street artist doing some elaborate graffiti work. She stopped to help him when he coughed up blood, which was very kind of her even if he found her slang a bit hard to parse. They get to small talk and she reveals she's planning on being a Hero.
He wasn't expecting to grow attached to her at all but he keeps seeing her work around the Saitama prefecture, and it reminds him of how she wants to make people smile. Eventually it clicks that she's exactly what he's looking for, with her unconventional Quirk and plucky attitude.
With One For All, Camie chooses to go to UA instead of Shiketsu, especially with All Might's support. As such, All Might also begins teaching at UA a year earlier than he does in canon, and thus, All For One begins planning. However, with Aoyama not quite old enough, he's in a bit of a bind there. His information gathering is spotty. As such, he waits a year before making his move.
At UA, Camie quickly bonds with Midnight over their similar Quirks and Hero personas. Midnight ends up as a sort of secondary mentor to her alongside All Might.
One For All upgrades Glamour in two key ways. First she can produce enough mist that she can condense it to make her illusions solid, though they can still be broken with enough force, or blown away. Second, if someone inhales her Glamour, she can make them hallucinate in addition to her illusions.

could you do a sae itoshi x isagi sister where she sprained her ankle and sae was very worried and overprotective of her please
🌱🩷: Here you go! Thanks for the request 🩷🌱
Warnings: Reader uses she/her. Requests are open
⚽️Blue Lock belongs to Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yusuke Nomura ⚽️
Sae Itoshi was usually someone who trusted his gut instincts the best, they were right all the time. So, when he woke up that morning feeling like something bad had happened to someone, or will happen, he felt odd. He barely paid attention to others, aside from a few close people, so why would he be worried for no reason? Sae shook those thoughts away in the beginning and did his usual morning routine. He was back in Japan for the next 2 weeks, so he planned on enjoying the time he had with his family, and try to make amends with Rin.
'Aww! Look at how cute that big brother is with his little brother. So adorable.' Sae blushed and glared at the wall as he remembered (Y/n)'s gushing over the duo they noticed in the park the other day.
'There is no way a nobody will outdo me.' He huffed and grabbed his phone, expecting a message or two from (Y/n),but to his surprise there was nothing. Sae sighed and put the phone away, thinking that maybe it was still too early for her to be awake.
'She needs as much sleep as possible.'
"Why is she not sending me anything? It's already 11." Sae sighed in frustration as he scrolled through his phone, hoping he might have missed a notification, but nothing. So, without really thinking the boy dialed her phone number and waited for a while for (Y/n) to pick up his call. And, after 7 rings, the older Isagi finally answered.
"Hello? Sae?"
"(Y/n), hey! How have you been?" The boy cleared his throat, waiting for an answer from her.
"I have been fine. And you? Did you need something?"
"Good, good. Uhm, say do you want to hang out today?" Sae asked nervously, waiting for an answer.
"I am sorry, Sae. I really can't walk around much for the next few days. Maybe another time."
Her explanation caused the boy's alarm bells to ring, already thinking the worst.
"What do you mean?"
"Ah... this is embarrassing. But, I was helping a neighbor carry something inside and hurt my ankle in the process. Don't worry though, it's nothing serious-"
(Y/n) stopped talking as she heard the line go silent, realizing Sae had ended the call. It was weird, but she didn't think much of it.
'Maybe his mom called him for something.'
"Sis! Don't walk around like that, I could have brought you the water." Yoichi said as he saw (Y/n) in the kitchen.
"Don't worry, Yo-chan. It's nothing serious."
2 hours later, (Y/n) had forgotten about her phone call with Sae and was just watching TV while Yoichi was in his room while her parents  were out buying something. It was a peaceful afternoon, that is until she heard the doorbell ring.
"Hm? We aren't expecting anyone as far as I know." She muttered while slowly walking to the door and opening it.
"Sae? What are you doing all the way in Saitama? And what's with the flowers and bags." The boy looked at her in confusion before that slowly morphed into panic.
"Why are you standing?! You could injure yourself even more!" Sae said as he took off his shoes and walked inside.
"You are worrying too much. I will be fine. Besides, I need to move to get my things-"
"Not anymore! We need to get you to bed." Sae grumbled as he put the stuff down, picked her up, and carried her to the bedroom.
"I am not in life threatening conditions, Sae. I will be fine." (Y/n) grumbled, face red in embarrassment. Sae ignored her protest as he put her in bed.
"Now, stay in here while I get you something to eat. Do you want anything to drink?" (Y/n) sighed at his persistence.
"You won't leave any time soon, right?"
"Nope." Sae nodded his head.
"I am fine with a glass of water, then."
She watched as the boy nodded his head and walked out of her bedroom.
"He is so dramatic. It's just a minor injury."
Sae was now in the kitchen preparing some of the snacks he brought, millions of thoughts racing through his head.
'What would have happened if I didn't come? She could have fallen down and hurt her foot again. She could have hurt her cute face. She could be crying now in pain with nobody to help her.' Sae shuddered as he brought the food and drinks to (Y/n)'s room, only to nearly have a heart attack when he saw her out of bed.
"Why are you not in bed?" Sae asked as (Y/n) looked at him in surprise as she stood near her desk.
"I just wanted to get my phone, I got a message on it- Where did all the food come from?" (Y/n) asked in surprise, unfamiliar with a lot of the snacks he brought. Sae, not happy with the answer, put the tray down and walked to where she was and carried her to her bed.
"Should have waited for me to get it for you. You might get hurt."
"I am not dying-"
"I don't care. You need to rest. Eat now." Sae said, handing her a random snack item to get the phone.
"You really worry too much. Shouldn't you focus on resting before you return to Spain?" (Y/n) asked in worry as the boy shook his head.
"I rested enough. Do you need anything else?"
"N-no." She stuttered out, still embarrassed by the attention he was giving her.
And that was pretty much how the rest of her day went on. Sae would sit near the bed as (Y/n) talked about random things, with the footballer chiming in from time to time. If she needed to get anything or go somewhere, Sae would either pick it up or carry her to the spot. Yoichi, who walked into the room a few times was greeted with a warning glare by Sae and the older observing his interactions with (Y/n).
'He acts like I will hurt her.' Yoichi would think to himself, but he knew his sister was safe with Sae, so he didn't say much.
"This is so adorable." Iyo squealed silently as she, Yoichi, and Issei spied on the duo. Issei and Yoichi said nothing, looking at each other in confusion.
"Do you think it's ok to leave them alone?" Issei asked, earning a nod from Iyo.
"Sae is a good kid. (Y/n) is safe with him. He reminds me of a worried mother hen." Iyo giggled as Yoichi held back a laughter.
'More like a guard dog.' The youngest thought.

okay but imagine saitama and genos reaction to y/n saying that child emperor is their hero / favorite hero!! I feel like they’d be like wait what? what about us :(
Warnings: Yandere, fighting, injuries mentioned, manipulation, helicopter "parents",
Other tags: one punch man, reader insert, Child reader, Child Emperor(Isamu), Saitama, Genos,
It was a peacefully sunny day when Genos got a phone call from the school. It shocked him to his core to hear that you got into a fight, for a moment he thought they got the wrong number until read him your file. He just doesn't understand why you got into a fight of all things.
It was a good thing Saitama was out getting groceries because Genos would have to hold him back from putting a hole through the entire school. Genos was holding himself back from tearing apart whoever thought they could hurt you and get away with it.
Genos thanked them and head over as quicky as posable, unfortunately Genos quite literally ran into Saitama, who in turn was confused as to why Genos was in such a big hurry. "Hey, slow down Genos you act like someone dead or something"
The look Saitama got from Genos didn't help, if anything it concerned him more. "She got into a fight at school, I'm just on my way to get her. I just know that little brat has something to do with it."
Genos didn't need to say any thing else, because that the mention of the Child hero and you got Saitama to drop what he was currying, weeping Genos off his feet and dashing your school in a heartbeat. Genos barely got to sign in that the front desk because of the way Saitama was dragging him towards the principal's office.
The thing that stopped them both in there tracts was the sound of your giggles, obviously you were okay and in no danger in you were having fun. What they did see was Isamu was the one who witnessed the fight you were in. Of course he stepped in to protect you, getting himself in trouble as well. It was totally worth it to send some extra alone time with you.
"haha Isamu, stop it. Of course your my Hero! You save me, when no one else would." you hugged him not knowing you might as well have carved their hearts out of them. You only let go of Child Emperor after someone patting your head, looking over your shoulder you see robo papa stand there with giving you a small smile and grandpa boldy who was patting your head with a constrained smile.
“Ready to go munchkin? we pick up some ice-cream and your favorite meal on our way home.” Genos reached out his hand. nether him or Saitama acknowledged the young hero as they took you away and back home after replacing the groceries Saitama lost and get you a dessert as they look you over for any and all injuries.
The only problem now they have to worry about is how to tell you that you’ll be home school and finding the right people to teach you when they can’t do it themselves.
Little did they know that this was all part of Isamu plan to slowly but surely to get you on his side. Set you up, even it was one of the hardest things he had to do and watch. he know in the long run it would be for your own good.

“I am back!” Silence. Kazuki tried again. “I am home, you guys!?” Still no answer, but Kazuki noticed the chaos.
He was not at all surprised that the loft was not in tiptop condition when he returned that night given how slovenly his little family was. The kid’s toys were scattered on the floor. The discarded pizza boxes decorated the dining table and the carpet. Half-consumed soda in grimy bottles and cans. Cups and glasses were everywhere. And the little girl’s coat and daycare bag were still lying on the now dried floor. Truth to tell, the chaos was an eyesore. It reminded him of the day he got a first glimpse of Rei’s living condition back when they were not roommates yet. It was their fifth mission, and, for a change, Rei invited him to his loft albeit reluctantly.
Where are those two rascals anyway?
The apartment seemed empty except for the detritus of life that was present in front of him.
He searched all the rooms saved for Miri’s sleeping chamber.
When he finally went up to see it, he opened the door slowly and was a bit skeptic. He was still feeling cross, dejected, mind. Instead of boisterous laughter and raucous blabbering coming from an energetic four-year-old girl, there was utter silence. Kazuki raised his left eyebrow.
What’s happening here?
His eyes travelled to the medical prescription and the fever thermometer on top of Miri’s baby-blue nightstand. Next to the thermometer was a bottle of medicine and a half-empty glass.
Miri, with her fuchsia pillow highlighting the moist white rug on her forehead, snored softly, her face peaceful. Her right hand intertwined with Rei’s left.
Shocked and suddenly protective, guilt came up to him. He only left for a day, tired and still emotional, but hopeful. He returned to these two individuals and one of them was sick.
His heart quenched when he saw his friend took up the challenge to be a real parent to Miri. Rei succeeded all right. Affection and pride toward the younger man was brimming over him.
He was meant to be angry finding the state of the apartment, but seeing their sick child he couldn’t afford to be.
Wanting not to disturb the two further, he tiptoed back to the door and closed it gently behind him.
Kazuki did what he could do for now. He tidied the living room, set the vacuum cleaner in a pleasant noise. He took out the chicken breast from the freezer and rummaged for carrots, leek, and celery in the crisper. He also cleared the table off empty pizza boxes and plastic bottles. Preparing chicken soup for Miri was the least he could do.
Half an hour later, there were footsteps coming down from the second floor. Tired ones. The water began to boil, the chicken’s aroma wafted out from the kitchen.
“Hey, Rei,” Kazuki greeted him.
“Kazuki, you are back.” Groggy, the young man looked at him, a wide smile on his face.
“I am back, yes,” Kazuki assured him. Rei stopped before the countertop table. His head bowed. Kazuki was eyeing him waiting for his friend’s next sentence. He saw the prescription, knew that Rei stayed up all night taking care of a sick little girl, helpless.
“Miri is… as you can see, she got a fever,” Rei informed him apologetically. “I had to see Kyutaro-san for help. I called you up several times, but you didn’t answer your phone.”
“I apologise for not being here. I wasn’t ignoring my phone. It was probably ringing when I was on the train going to Saitama. I didn’t mean it. My thoughts were somewhere else.” The soup was now simmering. Whatever spices Kazuki added into it the smell was heavenly. Finally, Rei looked at him, but never said anything.
“You… Saitama? I … I thought you abandoned us, Kazuki,” Rei’s hands are on the table as if hanging on to it. Kazuki noticed his friend’s fingernails turning white.
“I didn’t intend to leave, Rei. It wasn’t my plan. I am sorry if I made you think that way, but I really had enough the other day. I felt doing this alone for Miri. It didn’t seem that there were two fathers in this house but two children. On top of that, it is Yuzu’s death anniversary,” his voice broke. A tear threatened to fall, Kazuki turned around hiding the surge of emotion from his partner as he stirred the soup. Cloud-like smoke rushed out from the pot.
“Oh… I am … I did not know,” Rei said.
“I didn’t tell you. Not your fault,” Kazuki faced him again.
“Tell me what to do so I could make it up to you.”
Huh? Did he hear it correctly? Was this the same Rei he met at Kyu-chan’s coffeehouse from less than two years years ago? Rei making amends?
Smiling, Kazuki boiled another pot for the noodles. He brushed the dust off the Enoki mushrooms under the running water and would blanch them later. Rei waited for the answer. If he could, he’d give everything to Kazuki as long he was able.
“I’d like to try how to make a French toast, maybe you could tell me the ingredients so Miri—god forbid she’s going to be well in the next days or so—and I could buy them at the store the next day,” Rei suggested.
Kazuki chuckled. Of all the things that he wanted to discuss with Rei the latter wanted to try cooking the French toast.
“Of course, she’ll be well. She has an excellent nurse,” Kazuki assured his partner. He touched his shoulder and squeezed it.
Rei, wanting not to break the silent truce, showed one of his rare smiles again. For now, everything was all right between them.

opm 179/224(jp) TL commentary
so, about the Saitama vs Tatsumaki battle in the latest chapter.
Normally, I’m tired enough at the end of the work day that when the JP OPM chapter updates drop, I'm happy to just skim the chapter and wait for the usual fan TL team to do their good work and drop the English translation the next day. Usually, I find them very decent and competent.
This time around, however, Saitama’s lines on this particular page had me sitting up a little straighter.
Tumblr media
I thought his word choice was oddly far too chummy given his usual personality and his attitude towards people like Tatsumaki, so I decided to check the original Japanese pages again and sure enough, found that I gleaned a very different idea from the JP lines. I would definitely have translated these differently.
Let’s take a look at the 2 phrases in question.
1. “She’s not in the mood to chat at all” (JP: 全然会話になんねえーな )
The plain form of this (i.e. after you distill it from Saitama’s typical style of speech) is 全然会話にならない which is far more often representative of the sentiment “It’s impossible trying to get through to you/this person”. It literally translates to “This is not becoming a 2-way conversation at all” or "you can't have a 2-way conversation with this person"; Google “会話にならない 英語” and you will see multiple suggestions along the lines of “It’s no use talking to you.”
This phrase is used to indicate that the other party is not willing to listen, usually to something important the speaker has to say. Saitama isn’t looking to have a friendly “chat”, he’s trying to make a point to Tatsumaki about not attacking other heroes and laying off his new home before that gets destroyed too. So, while the use of “chat” may help to preserve the lazy informality of his speaking style, it downplays the severity of the situation and his annoyance at her not getting his point.
I personally would’ve used “Ugh, she’s not gonna listen at all, is she” or “Ugh, talking isn’t gonna work at all, is it” or a similar variation.
2. “Guess I’ll keep her company for now” (JP: 相手しとくか)
Context is everything. Just because “keep company” is the first option in a whole list of different definitions that pops up when you do a dictionary search doesn’t mean that it’s the right definition to use for a translation/localization. Nor does it mean it’s how the phrase is most commonly used in practice.
I'd wager you don’t even need to have much RL experience in Japan or with Japanese people to know which definition should've been picked. Watch enough shonen and sports anime with the original Japanese audio and you’ll soon learn that any time there is a pair activity, game and most importantly, a fight, 相手 i.e. “aite” refers to “opponent”. In a classroom setting, being asked to “相手して” doesn’t mean to keep a student “company”, it means to take up the opposite role in pair work. I’d add that in the close to 15 years I’ve spent studying and/or speaking Japanese, and the 3.5 years spent living and working in Japan, I’ve never heard this phrase being used to mean “keep somebody company” - but since experience can also be subjective, let’s just look at what we can be certain about: context, and our own knowledge of the target language and all its nuances.
a. Context - What’s happening, and who is saying it: Are they fighting? Yes. As opponents? Yes. Is Saitama referring to their fight and a strategy he's going to take (i.e. letting her tire herself out)? Most certainly, yes. Is this line being said by the same guy who thinks of Fubuki only as an acquaintance who's always dragging him into her business against his will, the same guy who in the last frame of this very chapter is thinking to himself "Man I reeeeeaallly wanna go home"? Yes. Should you have picked a definition more related to fighting and opponents from the dictionary's MANY different options like, idk, "take on a rival" to base your translation on? Yyeeess??? Why wouldn't you have?
b. Decision-making when localizing a text: What does “keep somebody company” imply in English? Is there a better way to phrase this and make the localized script more representative of the situation and the character's intent, and less loaded with English meaning that isn't present anywhere else in the text? I mean, Saitama certainly isn't suddenly thinking about loneliness and company when he mentions the lack of buildings and people - a safer distance away from civilization he deliberately went to the trouble of bringing Tatsumaki to.
I'd take some creative/artistic license here myself to make the language less stiff, but would definitely have gone for something less distorted, like "Guess I'll keep her occupied for now". If unsure, then even a more literal "Guess I'll take her on for now" would do a very decent job of conveying Saitama's intent, staying faithful to the original language without sounding too stiff when inserted into the sentence they came up with.
But well, who'm I to talk, eh? Translators are humans, there's no way to be completely objective in any interpretation, and they still do far more work than I am willing/able to do for this manga every update. I just wonder if they were letting certain biases guide their interpretations rather more than usual this time. Suffice to say, I'll be very curious to see how the guys at Viz choose to frame this bit for the official English TLs.

OPM Manga Update 228 Review: Horse-Trading
Introduction
HUZZAH! The Psychic Sisters Arc is over at last! It started well, it ended well, but there's only so long I can give a shit about Tatsumaki throwing a tantrum and throwing Saitama through things.
Story
Eh, let's make it short and sweet. The chapter deals with the immediate aftermath of Tatsumaki's tantrum through to the next day or two as the fallout looks set to begin in earnest. Along the way, a few sharp deals are struck.
Meta: Ho ho ho
Blackmailers Anonymous
Something I was very glad to see changed for the Blizzard Group in this arc was them being largely hapless. Earlier, we saw Eyelashes, Mountain Ape, Lily, and a few others valiantly try fighting to prevent Apollo from leaving with Fubuki and Tatsumaki. Amidst the air of general discouragement, Eyelashes leads the surviving group to follow Fubuki with purpose, and they don't back down even faced with Tatsumaki. This chapter, we see yet another Blizzard Group member, an as-yet unnamed guy with a distinctive mohawk, show another talent: hacking. Neither he nor Fubuki are slow on the uptake as to what
Tumblr media
Thanks to a little negotiating, Fubuki is able to persuade McCoy to concoct a monster attack to explain away the damage to the Hero Association building, Tatsumaki obliges by scattering the monster parts outside -- and coincidentally smuggles Psykos out in the process.
Tatsumaki brazenly insists on being the one to apprehend the escaped Psykos, leveraging her knowledge that the executives didn't want their cover up blown.
However...
If McCoy is smiling, that's because as far as he's concerned, what Tatsumaki and Fubuki have been up to are amateur hours in the damaging information game. He's happy for them to run their hustle for now.
Tumblr media
If the Psychic sisters were more astute, they'd be worrying about the operations chief being more amused than annoyed, but they're amateurs.
Speaking of amateurs, let's spare a moment to look at Gearsper. Lots of people have been giving him the side eye for insisting that Tsukoyomi couldn't possibly be real. We do think the gentleman protests too strenously, but what his angle is remains to be seen.
Tumblr media
Enlightented Self-Interest Is Next To Altruism
It's official -- I am never getting over how bottle-blonde baby Forte is. No wonder he goes around with hat and sunglasses: he looks too young to be out unsupervised.
Tumblr media
He wisely apologises to Saitama and tells the others that it's in their best interests to ensure that they stay on Saitama's good side. Oh, and feed his pets already. Good -- that's the third day of no food, water, or shelter that Rover and Black Sperm were looking forward to.
That said, there is a very strange translation choice in what Forte says, at least as translated by the fan group. Google Translate and individuals insist that what Forte offers to Saitama (other than his old clothes) is a visit to a restaurant that does delicious food and Saitama crying off sick. It has been translated as Forte offering to go clothes shopping with Saitama and Saitama being creeped out.
I'm waiting for Viz to translate, and if it doesn't agree, believe me, I'm asking questions.
Tumblr media
Also acting with enlightened self-interest is Saitama, who asks Genos not to report Tatsumaki on the basis that she deserves her time in the limelight. Of course, we're aware that behind his apparent generosity of spirit is the awareness that shared credit means shared blame.
And a billion yen's worth of blame is really too much for one poor-ass hero.
Tumblr media
The Chickenheads Come Home to Roost
Despite everything, the good ship Titanic (um, I mean the Hero Association) seems to have weathered the storm. The public, and their rich donors, are back onside having been reassured that the disturbance was just terrible monsters and all is well.
Well.
With that terrible security of the Hero Association's, it's not been hard for Child Emperor to find out the truth of what was actually going on. To say that he's not impressed is an understatement. All is forgiven, Phoenixman!
The only questions are: 1) How far has he dug? 2) How much damage will he cause?
Tumblr media
Speaking of callbacks, remember way back when an inoffensive monster pangolin was systematically skinned alive for its scales until it bloomed into a highly-dangerous demon-level monster? Metal Knight looked cynically on the whole affair.
Tumblr media
It looks like selling monsters on the black market is much more widespread than we initially thought. Fubuki having evidence of McCoy personally looking to enrich himself was very unedifying. And he's not the only one. However, that's not the worst of it.
Tumblr media
Never mind the personal profit motive -- if they're lucky, the monsters are just going to wealthy individuals keen to have the most exotic pets ever.
If they're unlucky, there's outfits who have plans to use monsters to make weapons. I don't need the webcomic to point that out:
Tumblr media
Maybe Drive Knight is ethical and above board (cynical laugh), but some of the outfits developing those weapons could be intending to use them against the Hero Association.
