HIIIII CAN I ASK ABOUT THE SIX YEARS LATER AU???

Howd they bring up the junior scouts idea to max??? Was he like Whatever sure or super tsundere or surprisingly emotional that they wanted him back after he aged out?? Did anyone else come back or do special day-long visits like how schools bring in visitors? What does max think of the new kids? They all look so cool i love Max's hair!!!!

Okay so. I call it the '6 years later' AU but technically i have Stuff Planned for all the time that passed between now and then too, so this'll be a bit longer, sorry!!

Max joining the counselor team was actually kind of a natural/gradual development?? Basically, since I can't make CC content that isn't found family Max has a shit home life, and, even if he hates to admit it at first, the three months of summer camp become his bright spot each year. David and Gwen catch on to that, but there isn't much they can do to help outside of camp - until one day Max (age 13/14ish) shows up on Gwen's doorstep because he ran away from home, 'since his parents won't care either way'. While he does return home after hiding out at Gwen's place for a weekend, this kind of kicks off a pattern of Max running away sporadically, to Gwen's, later David's, or his friends places. I could go into more detail here but. this is already long. oop.

ANYWAYS. So with Max spending basically all the time he can away from home and the summers at camp, once he ages out there's. A Bit of panic starting in him once summer gets closer again, because his Safe Place seems inaccessible, and two of his OTHER options, especially for longer stays away from home, would also be unavailable. Gwen and David notice this (it manifests in Max staying over More but Angrier) and try to find a solution. Gwen proposes the Jr Counselor idea. They introduce the idea to Max by kinda implying that workload around camp is a lot, and it'd really hurt to miss one of their most experienced campers, but... maybe, if he worked there too (well, interned. basically unpaid. but! no camp tuition!) he could help them? so they basically give Max a way to say yes without admitting that he's the one who needs camp the most. He does insult the whole thing ofc, and says like he's just doing it because he knows camp would burn down without him there ("actually, most of the fires we had were started by you...?" "shut it, david") but secretly he's really really happy. He might even thank them later that evening. Quietly. Before complaining about it preemptively. <3

WAH THATS ALREADY SUCH A WALL OF TEXT ok ill hurry up w the rest:

While most of the other campers had some rotations over the years, I don't have conk rete plans for most of them - Nikki and Neil are still Max' gang, and returned for multiple summers, if not all. This year though, Neil is busy with college prep, and Nikki is spending the summer at home because of family crisis. They still video call a lot, they're still The Gang. I have sketched designs for them, but I'm not quite happy yet.

Max at first doesn't take his role seriously, because he's basically just Back For Another Summer, but pretty quickly realises Gwen and David DO have expectations, and DO give him responsibilities. He takes a while to come around on his new relationship to the younger kids, and especially one of the youngest kids takes a liking to him, a very anxious young girl, which annoys him at first, but... well. It's a whole ~character arc~ for Max waiting to happen tbh.

marinette is FAR from being a “normal girl, with a normal life” (general criticism, and analysis of the location concept art)

pardon any mistakes, this is a rant post lmaoo

first and foremost, she is the daughter of paris’s most popular bakery. everyone knows it. and it's not loved the same way a long time neighbourhood bakery is loved. sleek high class interior design, like i bet a simple croissant costs 4 euros or smth.

now how about the earlier bakery design?

cluttered, lots of bread stacked everywhere, but it coneys well their love for baking. wonder why those "run down eating places" are always the one that have the greatest tasting food? it's because their heart is in cooking the meal. tbh, reminds me of the bakery in kikis delivery service actually. and why does these two bakeries feel so much nicer despite being so simple looking? because you can feel the hardwork (oh and the brown is a true vibe). full offence but the neatness of the current bakery feels like its a corporate business.

two, while she goes to a public school, it’s like the kids of all the most rich and famous citizens of paris are gathered there. adrien, model and son of renowned fashion designer. chloe, daughter of the mayor. juleka, daughter of famous rock star, alix, daughter of historian at louvre. mylene, daughter of a leading mine performer that had his posters plastered everywhere. that’s like just some of i remember. definitely not normal. unfortunately no concept art of the school. but knowing that the PV did reference marinette's bedroom, im going to assume the school design existed as a brief sketch.

this seems like a classy, rich college, same like the current one. but the design is better, imo, looks more school-ish. and third, it’s so clear that marinette is super rich. like man what the hell that room is thrice the size of mine. yet it lacks so much personality. what does this tell us about her? she likes pink. i seriously cannot find anything here that stands out to me.

this is why i much prefer the concept art locations. at least they look sort of middle class. it also gives marinette a “cozy” vibe, and someone who makes the best out of a given situation.

marinette is given the attic room. lots of beams, not very well furnished. yet she takes advantage of a seemingly bad room by using the beams to place boxes and toys. she also uses cloth to decorate the place, showing her appreciation of cloth design. it’s small, but has character, compared to marinette’s pink spacious room that’s a mess to look at.

furthermore the rooftop clearly isn’t meant to be used like that. but she adds little features to it, such as a simplistic bird house, wood planks to allow an even surface to place stuff/ sit, and a tent tied down by random pink strings and ribbons. it shows how she’s adaptable, creative and caring (bird house). plus it alludes to a sense of defiance and her “wanting to take a break”.

on the other hand, the current (it’s not even called a rooftop it’s called a balcony) is in big open space, smack right in front of the eifel tower, nicely floored with a proper fence and proper table for teapot. nothing here is "make shift" like the previous design. even if marinette did spend time making this place nice, how can we tell? there's nothing that hints to us that she worked on it. it doesn’t convey anything about marinette to us anymore, other than: “oh holy shit she's pretty rich”.

even this even earlier design is simple, but still says more about marinette than the current balcony. she carried her teapot all the way up there even though it's insanely difficult to. this tells us she's willing to put extra effort into things.

you could say im looking too deep into things. but i really am not. people fail to understand that even art, animation and film, every little detail, no matter how small, is important and should tell us the personality of the character.

with all the choices made in the series, how could you convince anyone that marinette is supposed to be normal? the whole concept of marinette and ladybug is that she looks average on the surface, but is capable of being a superhero due to all these favourable character traits of hers that tend to be overlooked. marinette dupain cheng? writers can't even make her look average for gods sake. from her appearance (stereotypically good-looking instead of charmingly cute, there's a difference), and her life in general (blessed with all the chances in the world that basically spoon feeds her her dream).

its exactly like those famous hollywood stars saying how much they suffered before they could succeed. except they were rich from the start with famous parents.

do you have any tips for drawing people? if not that okay! :D

oh geez i am far from an expert!! I feel like every time anyone asks me for drawing advice i always just say "look at reference pics and practice" but like it's so true... im entirely self taught so reference pics are the only sort of thing ive ever relied on, idk any fancy techniques or proportions or anything!! i'll try to think of something less basic tho fjhdasgjfasgh

tip 1: understand the flow and keep it loose! i personally get trapped in the nitty gritty details so easily so one thing im trying to practice is to keep sketches loose and flowy! otherwise the pose will look stiff and unnatural.

these were my sketching steps for my most recent namseok piece. as you can see the first one is the barest of the bare, literally just me trying to understand what the flow of the characters might look like. the next sketch works to retain that flow while still fleshing out the actual forms! i changed namjoon's flow considerably which is all part of the process of not taking anything too seriously and not being afraid to change things up.

tip 2: anatomy!! you don't Always have to draw the anatomy beneath clothes tbh depending on what you're going far or what clothes you're drawing BUT in this case with these unfamiliar poses and form-clinging clothes i knew i had to trace out some anatomy beforehand! obviously neither of them are that accurate, firstly because i didn't have a ref pic for them bc this was just a sketch piece that i wasn't letting myself get too serious about, and secondly because again this Is just one sketch layer and so i'm still not getting too bogged down in details! things like hands i still kept loose and open, while things like eh,,, legs and feet,,, you can see i struggled with more to keep that loose vibe. i'll practice more :))) in any case knowing the anatomy of a form is essential to drawing anything, but humans especially!!! before you dress them up make sure the parts all look right lol

tip 3: don't be afraid to experiment! human bodies can do some weird poses and things that you might think would look unnatural might actually work! I find this is super true with things like hands.

neither of their poses are super common or natural or things you'd see a human do irl but they still came out okay! again i didn't have a ref for this piece so it was definitely experimental and i had to draw their poses a couple times to get that flow down right, esp namjoon who has a relatively stiff pose but i still wanted it to look light and floaty! Namjoon's right hand is also in a pose that doesn't come very naturally and might not be accurate to what his hand would Actually be doing in this pose but it still looks good and was more fun to draw!

here's another example of this sort of "go with the flow" mindset! i didn't have a ref for this one either but after lots of experimenting with hoseok's hands placements i found this flowy maybe less than accurate one that i really liked!

idk if any of this makes sense or is helpful but they're just thinks i'm actively trying to keep in mind these days when i draw humans. thanks for the ask!

i probably shouldnt generalize or take this too far but animation really is just one of the most rewarding things to do. not just because by the end of it you will have, you know, an animation (which you will! im sorry, i know im leaving the sentence hanging but seriously, lets really pause and appreciate this. a moving drawing! a drawing that moves! it might as well be alive! it might as well be real! and YOU created it! wowzers!!!) BUT ALSO-

its just reawrding on a moment to moment execution. you get to draw the most fun thing of all to draw, people moving, emoting, body language. AND, if you are inbetweening right and you know what you are doing, you get this visceral satisfaction of drawing something in just the right place. every step is you completing a pattern with the most satisfying conclusion. i really enjoy inbetweening. i love calculating in my minds eye the exact middle point between two poses and drawing it, like i can almost visualize it. i see the empty spot between two keyframes and is like "here, right here, right on this spot, if you put the drawing good in this right precise spot you will hear the most satisfying click in your mind" and it always clicks!

think of this! a lot of times i hear from artists that they love art because of the end product that it gives you but that the process itself its a grueling effort that one must push through to get their reward of the finished piece. but (at least in my case) the journey is very much the reward itself, a lot of times i will spend hours animating something and the end product will suck but ill be perfectly satisfied because i enjoyed myself doing it.

also if you are really good and you really know what you are doing you can do so much with so little. forget about animating on ones, we are not disney here. you can animate on threes, on fours, fuck it animate on fives if you really want to. you can just do five drawings and get the coolest, cutest, neatest, most satisfying little loop to entertain your heart and soul.

animation really brings out an appreciation for the small pleasures of life and when i say small i really do mean the tiniest. the smallest, most mundane of gestures suddenly become signature moves. suddenly give so much charm and character and personality. just by the way you make someone do a simple double take or even simply blink suddenly you can give someone so much sheer charisma.

but you can go even smaller than that! more inconsequential! you develop a taste for tiny little occurences, small happenstances that would be completly invisible to normal people otherwise. the way hair flicks when someone turns their head, the way a drop slides down a surface, the way a car bounces and sinks a little when people get into it or out of it. if you can succesfully capture those things it will ground your work so much. the tiniest most indetectable of details suddenly turns curves and lines into an object with weight and corporeality.

much like music, animation is one of those arts where even the most simple, most basic of excercises, just pure, boring, highly technical executions made simply for the purpose of learning the bare bones of a technique, will still come out looking great and you will feel great for having done it. with music you can doodle something incredibly coarse, maybe you just want to learn some basic chords, you are practicing arpeggios or you are just fucking around with scales and it will still come out as music, it wont come out as rough sketches or purely skeletical, empty building blocks. it will come as a piece of music that is pleasant to hear.

same with animation, you can just be trying to rotate a character to figure out their design or have a bag of flour fall to the ground, or you are trying to figure out their walking cycle. there is no story or punchline or idea being conveyed here, is just a basic "getting the handle of your tools" excercise and yet it will still be an animation, a beautiful piece of art that is cool to look at regardless of what its doing.

and if its true that an image conveys more than a thousand words then nothing can beat the sheer density of information contained in moving images. in just three seconds of action i can lay out so many complex, hard to put into words, ideas, so many vague and ambiguous emotions can be clearly comunicated.

and god, the expresivity of it all. we are social creatures, huge portions of our brain are designed to parse language, both verbal and in terms of gestures and expressions. animation is a direct superstimulus for those sections of the brain, you can make your characters so much more expressive that a human could be, and they can be expressive in such perfect, choreographed, synthetized, crystalized, bold ways. isnt that amazing? that we can give the caloric rich, sugar refined version of body language to our brain?

i have been doing animations since i was 7. i started with a mouse, ms paint and power point. you can tell i must have really loved doing it that i was willing to put up with that just to get it done. i started because i was a child who loved cartoons, who loved animated shows and animation. it was mindblowing that such a thing even existed in the first place. it was literally magic. to see any random animated show like powerpuff girls or dexter's lab or hey arnold. it was a proof that wonders existed in this world. the magic was real.

now that i am 30 i can do that, i can make those things too! is not even that hard! i can make magic!

for my personality, i'm often described as intimidating at first meeting since I'm really quiet and distant with new people, but when i feel comfortable, I'm described as humorous and loud in a way. But, i can be very sarcastic. I think my good traits are: being easy-going, humorous, that type of stuff 😭, and my bad traits are being sarcastic, i also distance myself really badly with no explanation when im busy. my friends thought that i was lowkey mean for first impressions actually 😭 but i try to present myself as someone straightforward (??) or someone confident. if it helps, my mbti is istj and my godly parent is Nike or Ares.

most of my hobbies include painting, and sketching. my hobbies are also watching movies, especially horror ones, i also paint my nails as a hobby sometimes. i like jewelry, art, paranormal documentaries and spending my quality time with close loved ones. i dislike people who are far too stubborn when in a disagreement (although, i do not mind it if it's for a good cause), I'm also very competitive, so i do not like losing in games, but i, of course don't take it seriously most of the time.

HOW YOU MET

You met Rachel at an art course where you were both flexing out your skills. She probably wasn't too impressed or intimidated by your personality, which let her talk to you easier than other people in the course could.

While you were both vaguely aware of each others' existance at the course, your first conversation was Rachel asking you to share paint as some colours were being used faster than the organiser anticipated and it was in short supply.

Your personlities probably clashed at first- in an awkward way rather than a conflicting way(if that makes any sense)- but your similar interests and speaking about them made you both understand each other a lot more, so by the end of the few days you'd both come to this sort of truce.

Rachel isn't as competitive as you are, as she mostly focuses on herself rather than what other people are up to in the same field, but I think she admires your attitude and how you present yourself.

RELATIONSHIP HEADCANONS

Rachel is the definition of energetic but calm idc idc. Her strong moral code definitely leads to her being stubborn, but her open mindedness leads her to only be stubborn in specific situations and with specific topics. Honestly, it's hard to disagree with her when her points are so though through, so I doubt you'll have problems with her stubborness. But seriously, Rachel has this vibe that makes her seem like she'd be energetic in casual situations.

Ah the power couple where one is blunt and the other is sarcastic. Bless whoever attempts to argue with either of you because you've got each others backs and you just won't lose. Rachel talks fast, which only ever adds to the other person's confusion, but you're too used to it to even notice at this point. You both have a very interesting and cute dynamic tbh.

Rachel is definitely good at being straightforward with you when needed, but her first approach is to be comforting. I feel like she'd have a lot of confidence in you, and believes you're able to be responsible with your own actions, but she's still willing to give advice when asked. She knows exactly how to cheer you up when things go wrong, and she's genuinely just a sweetheart.

HANGING OUT

NAIL ART. Rache is creative, and when she noticed you enjoyed having your nails painted, she asked if she could try nail art with you. Along with this, Rachel just enjoys sharng art with you as gifts. She paints, but she's also found interest in creating jewlery for you, and she honestly has some really beautiful designs.

Whenever either of you are in need of inspiration, Rachel is keen to drag you with her to find it in nature and elsewhere. She'll go to the beach with you, or even urban exploring if there are abandoned buildings where you are. It's effective(and fun).

Paranormal content is definitely right up Rachel's alley. While you're into the documentaries, she's into the movies. I feel like she's tried to convince you to watch The Exorcist with her a couple times- if you haven't watched it already. Horrror is definitely a common things for you guys to watch, and despite her admittedly jumping at a few of the jumpscares, it's hard to scare her with them.

GENSHIN IMPACT ROMANTIC MATCHUP: Tighnari

HOW YOU MET

You were visiting Avidya Forest and ended up leaving the forest right as Tighnari was leaving to return a recent report to the other Forest Watchers.

Being unfamiliar with the area, you asked Tighnari for some recommendations on where to eat, local things to do, etc etc. Really just small talk seeing as you needed directions to the fastest way back to town.

He quickly escorted you back and made sure to find a map for you to use so you wouldn't get lost. He was very sweet and helpful.

You had both assumed you'd never meet again, but you met him more than you thought you would while enjoying your stay in Sumeru, so your relationship blossomed from there.

RELATIONSHIP HEADCANONS

He's a private person who finds it hard to keep relationships, but he enjoys your company. I feel like he's patient enough to give you space with your projects, as he understands how it becomes a priority in your life. Still, he's slowly become sensitive enough to your patterns to remember to check up on you to make sure you aren't too stressed.

Definitely appreciates your sense of humor, especially since he knows that someone people just don't have real humour(cough cough cyno cough cough). Honestly, he's very vibey and fun to be around. He has a good sense of humour and doesn't really get offended or worked up over much, so he's pretty easy going.

Definitely stubborn about specific things- though he's justified, you shoudn't eat random mushrooms off the ground- and his knowledge leads him to be a bit pretentious at times, but he means the best, and honestly his pretentiousness if how he opens up more of the time. He's usually good at keeping his cool, so it's honestly kind of fun to see him let loose and complain a bit.

HANGING OUT

Tighnari is no doubt a great person to go to if you're in need of something to paint or sketch. With him, you'll soon find more and more plant pictures in your skech book or on your canvases. He can take you to magnificent landscapes to paint, and he's kind enough to acknowledge that you need a lot more green paint now.

I feel like you'd both go out and make your own paints together sometimes. His familiarity of the forest really helps you find the perfect colours you need for your newest project.

Cooking for sure. I hope you like mushrooms, because you're going to learn a lot of mushroom dish recipes during your time with him. Cooking is defo one of his favourite hobbies, and he likes to share it with you, even just by letting you try out his recipes.

Could I request a Platonic Matchup for Any of the Akudama Characters? Okay, My name is Joey but I go by Rachel, Tori or Calypso.. I am a minor(is that ok..?) I’m like at least 5’5, I have Sholder Length-ish Curly black hair, brown eyes and I have a hour-glass body.

For my Hobbies, I really love a lot of things basically… like sketching, drawing, writing, edit, playing games(so many omg), I also play Lacrosse and Volleyball, making music on garage band(getting used to it), Reading, Being with my online/irl friends, and Playing the Piano and Harp!

After reading through the information given, I believe that you are best paired with Courier!

When you first meet each other, don’t worry if your’re feeling awkward and ultimately embarrass yourself in front of Courier. The man is just as emotionally constipated, but he won’t think anything of it if you stumble over your words or if you do something that is unconventional when it comes to starting acquaintanceships. It takes practice to become used to a person so you’ll eventually get it right as long as you’re persistent.

While Courier isn’t one to hang out with too many people at a time, he finds that he’s somewhat at ease when he’s around you. As a listener, he likes it best when you rant and rave about your interests. Sometimes, you’ll catch him smirking (but never laughing because he’ll never live it down if you caught him) at the corner of his eyes. If you tease him, he might relent and tell you that you’re actually funny, but don’t expect it so soon. Courier needs some time to get used to you before he starts emoting freely.

Courier is a man who values hard work and what a person stands for. He’ll never compare you to anyone but yourself. If he finds out that someone hurts your feelings on purpose, he’ll make it his personal mission to make sure that you’re doing well in the aftermath. He won’t go as far as to pummel the offender, but if he ever sees them again, he might say something.

It’s okay if you’re not that great at comforting people. Courier can easily relate to that. He values actions over words anyway. To those he treasures, he will do small gestures for them like cooking their favorite foods or taking them out on a ride on his motorcycle. He doesn’t expect the same in return since you’re bad at comfort, all he wants for you is that you’re doing well.

As for your interests, Courier can’t say that he enjoys all of them, but if you ask nicely, he’ll consent to playing a few rhythm games and watching your favorite animes. However, he’ll jump at the chance for some physical exercise. You might have to teach him lacrosse, but he’ll probably thrash you at volleyball. There’s just something cathartic about spiking balls at your enemy’s side of the court with deadly precision that gets him excited.

In return for all of your enthusiasm concerning your interests, Courier will take you around his bike, teach you how to cook, and walk you around the city to see some of the prettier sights that Kansai has to offer. (Before you ask, no, he’s not doing it because he thinks you’re a good friend. Why would you think that? He just wants to return the favor when you share the most vulnerable parts of your life to him).

Bonus: A good way to annoy Courier is to play Christmas music nonstop months before the actual Christmas date. He’ll threaten to run you over with his bike, but it’s worth it seeing the annoyed look in his eyes because he doesn’t mean it.

To sum it all up, you and Courier have the foundations for a great, lasting friendship. Just be sure to communicate, lest there be misunderstandings!

im rlly glad i found drawfee a few years ago. no joke- their attitude with art and approach to teaching re-ignited my love for art. i kinda faded from it for a few years, for various reasons. It was really nice to reclaim so many good mindsets. "Even if its bad you still made something." "It takes a while to get anywhere so enjoy the journey." "find beauty in what you've made even if you can see flaws in it." (maybe not directly stated philosophys but just generally how theyve come off to me.) and just to see Profesionals have issues and opinions i relate to made art so much less scary again. i was never really afraid, persay, in any way but yknow. elitist attitudes are like poison for creativity. Plenty of us slip into "if it isnt going to be any good why even do it."

But thanks to Drawfee and this little pocket of tumblr ive found myself in, and now also thanks to my friends, I've been able to look at my own art and see the good. The progress. The concept itself, behind my art, and be proud that i made anything at all. I've even been able to look at my art and see it how others would once in awhile. Without hyperfocusing on every brush stroke I know I made.

It's just all so very nice. considering I've been taking art a bit more seriously for only about, 3 years? 5 if you're generous. That's what it feels like anyway. I have been painting my entire life. And practicing without it feeling like practice. Anyway considering all that, its pretty neat how far ive come already :D

It's nice to be proud of every new piece and every new sketch. To have fun with every new learning curve. To have the freedom to choose to upload something "subpar" because i wanted to share a concept or creation of mine, and just didnt have it in me to take it any farther. This is a nice creative freedom. I hope you get that too one day, wherever you might need this state of mind.

First off, thank you <333

I made it a while ago cuz it's hard finding Tomodachi Game artwork or fan content (or at least for me lmao) so I decided to make one myself

I feel like Yuuichi would frustrate Light a lot, and that would be seriously an interesting interaction to see! For Yuuichi and him I feel like it would be like 2 cats fighting each other for their pride and fun, rather than L playing a cat to chase the mouse, Light (ik it's more complicated but that's it simplified). And also, I haven't finished the manga yet so I might be wrong, but Yuuichi has the ability to make general "friends" or alliances. Hence him taking all of the punishment for Kokorogi, and forming a bond with Tenji. It's not really friendship, but it's more than Light using and treating people like Takeda as his subjects

Again, haven't read the manga completely so I'm probably wrong. Just Yuuichi doesn't have a god complex while Light does. I think that played a huge part in Kira's demise. But idk who would actually win because of course they both have their flaws

I feel you, finding tomodachi game content is really hard without the anime on the air (i wouldn't know tho i entered the fandom like three weeks ago but you get what i mean jsjdj) so we keep the tag alive with asks.

But yeah totally!! They would be like two cats fighting for the best spot in the livingroom with the first rays of sun.

While Light is a great manipulator, Yuuichi is great at reading people...to manipulate them, so any attempt on lights side i feel would go like

Light: i'm going to use him against my enemies without him knowing

Yuuichi: lmao this guy wants to use me against his enemies. I'll play his game and see if he's of any use to me.

I just want to see how yuuichi gets on lights nerves with all the faces he has in his arsenal (insert cat meme). And you're so right, while Light uses people and never gets any further than that, yuuichi worries about his friends (his thoughts at the end of the second game is all i need), but he doesnt trust them anymore poor thing

On the other hand light could just go: damn it! He's using me. He thought i wouldn't notice? Haha loser now try to guess your heart condition in the next 40 seconds.

And so far (in the manga) yuuichi hasn't shown any sing of having a god complex, and its unlikely, hes very grounded in how he sees himself jsjdjd he really says yes im poor yes im a monster but those things are unrelated...kind of.

Beach Days with The Genshin Characters!

Type: Headcanons

CW: umm nothing except mentions of alcohol and maybe people being creeps? (None of the chars or you tho it’s very brief)

A/N: HI IM BACK FROM THE DEAD! These were supposed to be a lot shorter but I got too excited. If you by any chance wanna see some for your fav character lmk! I know it says request are closed in my bio but since it’s just hcs it’s a lot less (and I really enjoyed writing these so ajdhdhdk)

🔥Diluc:

This man cannot swim. Tell me otherwise, I dare you.

Kaeya tried to jokingly push him off a lil diving cliff area when they were kids.

He almost drowned. Kaeya was in a lot of trouble.

So, good luck getting this man to actually get in the water. The most he’ll do is sit on the shore where it’s very shallow.

He usually prefers to just stay under an umbrella on the sand and keep an eye on you.

Calls you every two hours in advance and helps you reapply sunscreen.

He’s very pale so I feel like he burns pretty easily, meaning he needs to reapply super frequently otherwise he will become a tomato. He brings like three bottles of the good shit. Tch, rich boy.

If you ask him to build a sandcastle, he will pretend to be annoyed but do it anyways. Ends up finding it kind of enjoyable.

He has the maids prepare a nice picnic basket for the two of you!! It’s got all your favorite foods plus grape juice cuz y’know.

If any creepy peeps approach you, don’t worry. He brought his vision and his claymore.

Of course, he won’t have to resort to such violent lengths. Everyone in Mondstadt knows who Diluc is and they probably know you’re his s/o, so they’re usually smart enough to mind their own business.

If they don’t, don’t worry. Diluc’s glare is more than enough to scare them away.

All in all I definitely recommend a beach day with him! I’ll give it a solid 8/10 (-2 for not wearing floaties and getting in the water with you or letting you teach him how to swim.

🖌Albedo:

You guys definitely 100% take Klee out with you on a beach day.

You guys bring snacks, beach toys like buckets and shovels for optimal sandcastle building, a picnic blanket, etc.

Jean definitely packs a lot more stuff for you guys to take with you than you actually need.

It’s only cuz she’s worried for Klee and is nervous about not being able to go with you guys though! It’s very sweet really.

Klee tries to bomb the fish and cause havoc at the beach 😭

I think Albedo is a good swimmer and gets in with you and Klee so that he can help her (which is very cute omfg)

He’s set total workaholic, as we know, so it took a lot of convincing to get him to put down his experiments and accompany you to the beach (however, he’s particularly weak to yours and klee’s puppy dog eyes so he caved eventually)

Though, looking at you and Klee happily building sandcastles and decorating them with pretty seashells of all shapes and colors, he can’t really find it in himself to complain.

He, of course, takes this opportunity to take out his sketchbook and draw the waves, seagulls, you… Of course he won’t let you see the sketch book no sir. He’s a bit embarrassed to be honest, but an artist such as himself recognizes beauty when he sees it so he simply had to draw you. (God I love him so much)

If a creepy person approaches you,- well don’t worry. The sight of a small arsonist child blowing up fish is enough to scare them away 🥰

At the end of the day, all three of you are all ticketed out. Albedo has to carry Klee back to Mondstadt because the poor baby fell asleep the moment you started drying her hair with the beach towel. You’re, of course, carrying back Dodoco and your bags. (You also manage to sneak a peak at Albedo’s sketchbook and find some very pretty drawings of you and Klee with your sandcastle)

At the end of the day, you guys tuck Klee in and read her a bedtime story (she woke up and insisted). Afterwards Albedo takes you back home and thanks you for coming with you and Klee (which you ofc say wasn’t a problem because how could you not???)

All in all? I’ll give it a solid 10/10. You’ve got tasty food, fun times, your boyfriend and his cute kid adoptive sister (yes I am very biased idc)

🦋Xiao:

I think it would take a lot of convincing to get Xiao to go out on a beach date with you.

He’ll probably see it as a distraction getting in the way of his slaying of monsters and demons.

However, he also worships the grounds you walk on (hehe, simp XD), so I don’t think it’ll take that much convincing on your part (especially because it’s is self appointed duty to keep you safe so if you insist on going with or without him, he supposes he’ll have to go)

Is definitely a bit tense at first. He doesn’t know how to let loose and chill so while you’re sun tanning on a beach chair he’s like 🧍‍♂️ahdgshjsjd

Eventually calms down a bit though! You get him to relax and eat some almond tofu you brought along with you. It definitely gets him to perk up.

I don’t think he would mind getting into the water but I do think he’d rather walk along the shore and collect pretty seashells and sea glass.

He later gives the ones he deems pretties to you (he hands them over to you with a blush on his face and pretends it’s not a big deal and he definitely gets all pouty and grouchy when you coo at how adorable he is)

As for creeps, Xiao is both intimidating and well known in Liyue. No one is brave enough (or, let’s be honest, dumb enough) to approach you with any bad intentions.

Sure, Xiao has sworn never to harm a human/citizen of Liyue but that doesn’t mean he can’t scare the absolute shit out of them.

I think Xiao would definitely enjoy a beach day 🥺🥺. He’d find it very relaxing to go out with you and just hear the sound of waves and feel the sand under his feet.

He’d definitely hint at wanting to do it again later. Of course, he won’t tell you. No, that’s a foolish mortal activity and he has much better things to do.

Wait no, don't turn around, yes he will go with you next month.

All in all, I give Xiao a 9/10. It’s a very relaxing day (which he deserves 😤). And you get to see a whole new side of him.

💎Ningguang:

OK SO ORIGINALLY I WASN'T GONNA WRITE ONE FOR HER (at least not in this post) BUT THEN I THOUGHT OF LADY NINGGUANG TAKING YOU TO A WHOLE ASS PRIVATE BEACH

She knows you don’t care about how exclusive the beach you go to is (in fact, the fact that you don’t care about where you are or what you do is one of the things that make her fall more and more madly in love with you) but you deserve the best so she’s gonna go all out.

She’s a busy lady so days like this where the two of you get to go somewhere and be together are few and far between.

She knows it’s hard to be in a relationship with someone who is busy 24/7, so she appreciates how you remain by her side despite all hardships. (Y’all are a whole ass power couple istg)

The two of you spend your day relaxing. Sun bathing, drinking piña coladas, maybe taking a dip in the ocean. It’s all very pleasant!

Ningguang doesn’t quite feel like the type of person who would sit in the sand and make sandcastle, however you’re more than welcome to make some yourself. She finds it endearing <3

If you insist on her helping, she’ll eventually comply. She loves you too much to say no. I feel like she’ll either be terrible at it or like a total architect.

Sand is technically like tiny rocks right? So maybe she can use her vision to help her? If that’s the case, she’s making a replica of the Jade chamber out of sand.

If any creepy person comes up to you don’t worry. Ningguang will buy the whole beach and then use her right of admission as owner to permanently ban them from the beach you’re at.

The only downside to a day at the beach with Ningguang might be that there’s a big chance she’ll be called to tend urgent matters, seeing as she is the Tianquan of the Liyue Qixing and all.

If that does happen, she’ll be sure to make it up to you somehow, whether it be rescheduling or taking care of the matter as soon as possible so that the two of you can get back to your day of relaxation and fun.

All in all?? Lady Ningguang will treat you like total royalty and the two of you will have an amazing time! I give her an 11/10 (she would literally buy a whole beach for you to be comfortable I mean c’mon)

🍃Venti:

BEACH DAYS WITH HIM ARE SO FUN!!

Swimming? Yeah, he’d love to! Sunbathing? Sure! He’ll ever conjure up a light breeze for the two of you. Sandcastle building? WELL OF COURSE WHY DO YOU THING HE BROUGHT ALL THESE BUCKETS AND SHOVELS?

No but seriously, he might be the best person out of everyone here to go to the beach with. He’s fun, free spirited, and he’s a traveling bard who’s been alive long enough to know where all the best beaches in Teyvat are. (He also knows a guy- er, well, dragon I suppose- who is willing to fly them to any place).

He’ll play some soft tunes while you doze under the sun.

HE PICKS PRETTY SHELLS AND GIFTS THEM TO YOU!!!

He will bring booze. I’m pretty sure this is a necessity. If you’re a little upset about it, he’ll probably “eheh~” his way out of it. That slick bastard.

If you really insist on him not drinking, he won’t consume much alcohol.

If some creepy person approaches you and tries to ruin you your day of beach time fun, all of their stuff will suddenly be blown away, causing them to scramble back to their spot and (almost embarrassingly) flail around trying to catch everything. What a shame…

At the end of the day, he’d be a little sad to leave. Definitely makes plans about tbe two of you going back soon.

I gotta give him a 10/10 he’s just so fun omg.

The second Kate passed you the cheerleading outfit, your mind fell into a blissful daze. Briefly, your hands grazed against each other.

Your pink, increasingly red cheeks didn’t go unnoticed to Kate. Her soft smile made yours only grow, until there is a cough from Simon across the room, smirking at the two of you.

“Eat shit,” Kate growls, promptly showing her middle finger to him as you stand there, amused. “Sorry, Y/N. Feel free to change in the bathroom, let me know if you need any help and I'll come find you.”

She smiles, before walking away to Simon.

You stand there for a moment, watching her, before rushing away to the female bathroom as directed. You laid your backpack on the closed toilet seat, before stripping down your clothes and easily sliding into the blue costume. It hugged your body in a way you hoped Kate’s eyes would stay on you.

After shoving your previously worn clothes into your backpack, you walked out of the stall and stared in the mirror. The zip at the back wasn’t closed, your pink bra underneath revealed to the other girls scattered around the bathroom. Girls who were too busy smoking, vaping or purely gossiping to notice you were asking for help.

You sigh, throw your coat on over the outfit, before walking towards the gym once again. This time, all eyes on you. All mouths motioning your name.

“Kate?” You call out quietly.

Suddenly, the dark-haired girl jumped out from behind the bleachers, Simon following behind her. She gives you a smile and rushes towards you.

“You look great!” She beams, “Have you zipped up?”

“No, I...” Your face went pink, “None of the girls in the bathroom would help me so I just came back here - is that okay? I’m sorry.”

“Don’t apologise, Y/N.”

“Okay...”

You drop your bag and coat onto the ground, before facing the opposite way from Kate. Your eyes are shut. One of her hands rest on your hip, pulling the outfit down and she uses the other hand to push up the zip.

Once ready, she spins you around and places her hands on your shoulders, your faces just inches apart.

Kate senses your anxiety, and lowers her arms, “Everything will be okay. Are you nervous about starting cheerleading? It’s really not overly complex.”

“No, I’m nervous about you..do you think people will judge me?” You end up saying, before covering your embarrassed face. Standing close to you, was Kate. The girl you’ve adored admired for months on end, and you were expressing your concerns about getting bullied.

Unexpectedly, Kate didn’t laugh. Instead, she wrapped her arms around your waist and rested her chin on your shoulder. “Nobody will judge me when I'm with you. if they do, I’ll murder them.”

You laugh, “You would murder them for me?”

“Of course. I would do anything for one of my cheerleaders - we’re like a family now,” Kate pulls away enough for your faces to meet, her hands are still resting on your waist as she smiles at you, “And for the record, I doubt anyone would talk bad about you wearing that. Seriously, you’re making me question myself right now - you look beautiful, Y/N.”

The bell rang, and you internally thanked it. You and Kate parted ways after sharing one last hug, you couldn't find the words to say anything else. Looking down, you could see your hands were shaking nervously. You take a deep breath - maybe two - before walking in the direction of your next class.

Everyone was wrong. Kate was seen as heartless, but you knew that was far from the truth. At your audition, when you accidentally tripped over, Kate helped you remain focused and you finished without a second mistake. She helped you with your outfit, made you smile and complimented you so much your knees literally went weak.

Sitting in geometry, you could see Kate a few rows away. Apparently you shared more classes then you originally thought. Between you sat Deena, who was too preoccupied scribbling notes and sketches back and forth with Sam to notice anything else occurring during the class.

They came out as a couple the previous year. You almost cried when it happened - because someone was like you. And if Kate stayed friends with them before and after, she had to support that, right?

Possibly even be apart of that community, you thought to yourself.

“Y/N,” Kate whispered from her desk, she passed Deena a note, which Deena gave to you with a smirk.

Your face heats up as you open the note, reading ‘bleachers. 7 - Kate <3′

The butterflies in your stomach grow when you look up and see her blowing you a kiss. From the back of your mind you wondered if she was simply being a tease - that she somehow found out about your secret crush and enjoyed pushing you around. Except, her sincere smile made you remember this was Kate, she isn’t a bad person. She’s beautiful and smells like sweet lemons.

So, you gave her a nod, wordlessly agreeing you would be there.

You sat on the bench while the cheerleaders danced. Considering it was only your first day - you decided against participating in the big game. Primarily because you were scared of humiliation, but also because you wanted everything to go perfectly for Kate.

The game is still in progress, twenty minutes remain and you’re sitting under the bleaches as directed, a warm hot chocolate resting in your palms.

it’s 7:06 and zero sign of Kate.

Embarrassment infused you when you saw another couple making themselves comfortable metres away, practically dry-humping each other as you sat and drank your warm drink. You decided to wait a few more minutes before you left, when it reaches 7:15 you promised yourself to walk away.

And by the time 7:15 reached, you were walking out of the bleaches with tears filling up your eyes - she led you on because she had the advantage.

“Y/N?” A voice, one defiently belonging to Kate called out.

You looked around and saw her, “What?”

As a disguise, she wore an oversized jumper, a cap and baggy pants. You barely noticed it was her - but by looking at her pretty smile, it was obvious.

“I’m sorry I was late, coach was upset,” She walked closer towards you, and sat down on the ground, patting the spot beside her, “And I was getting changed into these clothes...I didn’t want anyone to see me.”

“Why?” You ask, “Are you...embarrassed of me? Are you embarrassed to be friends with me?”

Kate tilts her head and frowns, “You know that’s not it. I’m not embarrassed of you, Y/N. I’m...embarrassed of myself. Everybody knows people only come down here to be with the person they like.”

You stay quiet.

She continues, “And I like you...I barely know you, but I've seen you. In class, you're always so observant and smart. And when you got nervous talking to me I realised that maybe you're like me - so I made my move. And I showed up late, which I'm sorry for, but I just...I like you a lot.”

“Do you really?” You smile softly, “Because I like you - a lot - but I don’t want to say anything in case this is some sick prank.”

Instead of responding, Kate holds the back of your head with her hand and pushes your lips together. It’s soft, unlike the last few guys you've kissed, Kate’s lips weren't chapped or picked at. They're smooth and taste like cherry lip gloss, which she undoubtably uses.

Kate pulls away, “I'm not interested in girls.”

You frown, “Then why are you kissing me? Didn't you just confess?”

Kate smiles, and tucks a loose strand of her behind her ear, “I did, and I like you. I’m not...interested in labelling myself. I’m giving you a warning, I’m not ready for this - for us - to be public. So, if you’re not interested in being a secret for however long...tell me now.”

Despite how often you've dreamt about walking down the hallway with Kate’s hand holding your own - you remember what it’s like to be afraid of judgement. So, you press one last kiss to her cheek, “I would love to be your secret.”

“You would?”

“Yes.”

Hi, you and I seem to have very similar tastes in art and in other things and as a begging artist I would like to know your art journey and any resources you used such as books and things or where you get inspiration from, thanks in advance

Hello! I'd be happy to!

I've been drawing since I was a kid, but I only started drawing seriously when I was about 12 (I wanted to become an animator, I didnt know that jobs like illustration on concept art were a thing). I never took a formal art class, expect for one that was on acrylic painting, and I didnt really learn that much there, and it was only for 4 weeks. (Maybe I'll learn to love acrylic someday, but not today).

For inspiration, I write down favorite memories of mine, and sometimes unimportant ones (memories of sitting at a gas station on a hot summer day, waiting on my dad to buy some sodas so we can get going on our trip; walking under football bleachers at night), and most times I'm a little too scared to post these because they're personal, but im working myself up to it.

I collect moodboards on interest, just whatever catches my eye, even if the aesthetics don't match. When I'm out, I take pictures of places I would like to draw later (abandoned farmhouses, old mill houses, a lighthouse far off in the water alone, a stretch of road completely covered in graffiti).

Books! Ok so I have a lot of art books but few that have actually been beneficial, so I'll post those here.

Color And Light by James Gurney: A Guide For The Realist Painter; I cannot reccomend this book more!! This book is excellent, it talks about how to paint different light conditions, and how it effects light scientifically. Very easy to understand, and Gurney is a master painter.

Adorning The Dark by Andrew Peterson. Another excellent book, and one I don't think I'll ever be over. While this is a book from a Christian standpoint, and I don't know your opinions on religion, this book for me was unputdownable. I read it cover to cover in a day, and did the same thing the next day. Reflections on self and the creative process that takes place in the mind and spiritually, and how we effect others. A simply wonderful book. Id go as far as to say life-changing.

Any Ghibli art book (I own Howl's Moving Castle, and Spirited Away.) These are excellent if youre wanting to look into illustration or character design. It doesnt give much advice, but I find myself inspired every time I open the ghibli books I have.

Sketching From The Imagination: Characters by 3d Total Publishing; this book has many MANY artists of various art styles, and they give their process and advice! Little nuggets of "Oh! Yea that makes sense." are scattered throughout the book, at least for me.

As for fiction books, I read a wide range of genres, so I can't really make a HUGE list of books I reccomend, but I can give a few that I feel have been important to me personally the last few years.

Jeff Vandermeer's Southern Reach Trilogy, and Borne Trilogy. Rick Bragg's All Over But The Shout'n, and Ava's Man, Flannery O' Connor's A Good Man Is Hard To Find, C. S Lewis's A Space Trilogy, and Madeline D'Engle's A Wrinkle In Time. Comics like Batman: The Long Halloween, Calvin and Hobbes, and Minna Sundberg's Stand Still Stay Silent have been great to read as well!

Movies and TV shows are HUGE inspirations for me, but as a general guide, I adore movies like Alien, Fury Road, Pan's Labyrinth, Lord of The Rings, Oh Brother Where Art Thou?, and TV shows like Stranger Things, Over The Garden Wall, and The Twilight Zone. Video games are important as well, like Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Kentucky Route Zero, and Death Stranding.

Anyway, heres what I have to say: Use everything. Dont be afraid to deviate from your "aesthetics". Yes, you'll feel a bit lost at times, like you have no identity, but thats a good thing for growth. When I was 12, I was dead set that my thing was extremely cartoon art styles, pokemon, and drawing dragons. While these are still great and huge inpirations, if I didn't branch out, I would be stuck in a rut.

It is not important to have a set aesthetic. Youre not an aesthetic Instagram page at heart! Find what you are drawn to, what imagery catches your eye, what symbols have meaning to you. I will change throughout my life, but my core values are still there. And I think its important to understand that, to loosely quote Andrew Peterson, that self expression is an endless, and often fruitless chase. You gotta shift your direction outward, and you'll discover things about you, good and bad.

Wow, this post is getting very very long. Apologies. Anyway, one more note. Just explore. Collect things, look for details! Note that swirl in the sand, a wrinkle next to an eye, get a feel for a place or thing. I have dozens of books that make no sense together (2 books on sharks, 1 on specifically waterplants, 5 on animal species, 2 on surgery, 1 on the history of medicine, 1 on car mechanics, 1 on martial arts, 3 cookbooks, and a book on the history of wood working.) Yes, I tend to hoard books. Get a book from the library on a subject you know nothing about once a week. Glance through it, take at least 20 minutes hopping page to page, even randomly. You'll find something! Just keep your eyes open, dont stop learning! I encourage wiki rabbit holes 100%.

And please, please dont be afraid to post new things. In the end it doesn't matter if your followers are unused to the new thing you like! As long as you are conveying meaning behind what you create, you'll find your way. Im uh, still learning this. People latch onto concepts more than skill, I've found.

So yea, thats just what I have to say. Sorry for the long, LONG post. I hope this helped!!

the distant sounds of cars honking and the few civilians chattering filled the air. it was almost dark and they had just gotten off work and were on their way home.

y/n sighed and picked up his skateboard, nodding her head lightly with a frown. "yeah.. my mom said we have to move soon" she said. "but.. why?" reki frowned as he stood up to meet eyes with her.

"well, my mom got a better paying job there so she said we should just move, i guess" she replied, her tone laced with guilt. "oh.." reki muttered. he kicked his feet on the ground, looking down as y/n peers at him with a guilty frown.

"im sorry reki" she whispered with a soft whimper "i guess i should've told you a lot sooner.." she said

reki looked up at her and shook his head. "no, no! it's fine, don't worry.." he reassured with a shaky smile "um..where exactly will you be moving to?" reki asked her

"miyagi" she answered quietly, sheepishly kicking her feet back and forth, causing the rumbling sound of the wheels hitting the pavement to fill the tense air.

"wow uh.." reki chuckled in surprise "that's really far.." he muttered. he then cleared his throat and shot her a shaky grin "well, atleast it snows over there!" he exclaimed. "maybe you can try snowboarding again" reki said, though it didn't seem to fill her with much comfort

"i heard there's a good amount of snow when you're deep in the mountains! you can even-"

"reki.." she cut him off with a soft whimper of his name

reki stopped and looked at her with a sad sigh. he pursed his lips and finally dropped the enthusiastic façade. "i don't wanna leave okinawa" she admitted with a pained sigh. "i don't wanna leave you"

".. a-and the others too ofcourse" she continued with a nervous chuckle "not just you.."

"i don't want you to leave too" reki chuckled as he wiped the tears brimming his eyes

he lightly punched her shoulder and took his board from her hands. "agh! you're gonna make me cry, you know!" he exclaimed. y/n smiled and let out a soft laugh "sorry, sorry" she said

reki pouted and hesitantly brought her into his arms, nibbling on his bottom lip and letting out a sigh as he squeezed her tight. "i'll really miss you, y/n" reki said.

she blinked repeatedly in shock and flusteredly wrapped her arms around him as well. "um-i-i'll miss you too reki.." she stammered out as she tried to fight off the heat that was rushing to her cheeks

suddenly, reki pulled away, much to her distaste, and fixed his stance. "let's skate together before you leave, yeah?" reki mused "just for tonight.. then we'll continue when you get back" reki smiled

"yeah. let's skate" she replied with a fond smile

the pair skated home, taking their usual route and doing some tricks here and there. though their usual chatter and banter was not present, and all there was, was silence that seemed to weight down on both of their chests with varying emotions.

they stopped at the block separating their houses, right under the street light where they always meet up with each other.

reki looked back at her and smiled. "well, this is where we part" he chuckled ."yeah.. i guess so.." y/n muttered back with a frown

reki sighed and nudged her with his elbow. "cmon, don't be like that" he said "its not like we'll never see each other again!" reki exclaimed with a laugh, though even he wasnt able to convince or reassure himself.

"you're just moving, no big deal! we have one more day to spend together and our friends and visit S" reki explained in a comforting tone

y/n sighed in distress and crouched down on the ground. she kept her board in place with her feet and stared at it with furrowed brows. "i guess you're right" she said. "but i really don't want to leave. im completely fine here in okinawa with you and the others."

"i wanna keep skating with you and go to hotsprings together and eat bentos and keep working at dope sketch!" she exclaimed with a look of affliction

reki frowned and sat down beside her, resting his chin on his hands and nodding along. "yeah, i wanna keep doing that too" he said "but we can't really do anything about it anymore"

"unless you wanna try begging your mom or something" reki joked with a laugh as he nudged her with his shoulder. "but it's not like that would work-... y/n?" reki sweat dropped as he looked at her only to be met with a look of determination and sparkling eyes.

"you're so smart, reki!" she praised "that's a great idea, we should do that! you're so amazing"

reki chuckled and cheekily grinned at her "ah shucks, you flatter me too much!" he giggled

"but were not gonna actually do that, right?" reki asked with a soft chuckle

".. right?"

"WE BEG YOU!" they simultaneously exclaimed as they got down on their hands and knees to bow

"w-what?! kids, what are you doing??" nanako exclaimed with a nervous smile as she tried to get them to stand up

"PLEASE! DON'T TAKE Y/N AWAY!" reki cried out as he wrapped his arms around her in a bone crushing hold. "please!" y/n followed up with a determined look in her eyes as she stares at her mother expectantly

y/n loosely wrapped her arms around reki's waist and pouted "please, mom?" she pleaded as she accentuated her 'puppy eyes'. "please, hasegawa-san?" reki pleaded as well as he gave her his 'puppy eyes' for the extra cute effect

nanako seemed conflicted as she stares at their cutesy expressions with a look of dread. "what do i do?! they're too.. too cute!!" she cried to herself "help me, oliver !!!"

she then composed herself and cleared her throat. "well, im really sorry kids" she said "but my desicion is final." she stated with a determined huff "im doing this so we can earn more-"

she cut herself off as she caught sight of the two teens sulking and holding ecah other while a dark gloomily aura loomed over them. "ah well- i-" nanako stammered as she shakily reached her hand out to them with a guilty smile

she then sighed and let her arms hang by her sides. "im sorry, y/n, reki. but we need to move so i can earn more money and y/n won't have to work for me anymore" she explained "plus, i've already purchased the house so there's really no going back now"

"but im okay with working at dope sketch.." y/n muttered with a frown

"i know, but.." nanako smiled nervously "look at it this way! you'll go to a new school and make some friends! we can even try snowboarding during winter, won't you love that?"

y/n briefly glanced at reki and sighed. "sure.." she mumbled

nanako smiled and gently patted them both on the head. "you should hang out with your friends before we leave" she said "you'll regret wasting your time here, yknow?" nanako mused

reki and y/n nodded and went to put on their shoes. they grabbed their boards, and hastily skated to joe's restaurant

"ah jeez.." nanako muttered to herself as she watched them skate away. "teenagers are so hard to handle!!"

"help me oliver!!!"

"guys, we have something to say!" reki exclaimed as he abruptly slammed his hand down on the table, effectively gaining all of their attention.

"y/n is-"

"what is it you slime?" miya sneered as he continued sipping on his drink

"your girlfriend?" they all simultaneously said with a bored tone as they continued on eating their meals

"..." reki and y/n blinked and looked at each other in confusion. "what?" reki asked cluelessly "no that's not-"

"well its kinda obvious" shadow said with a chuckle "yeah, we kind of saw it coming" miya agreed

"what? no seriously, that's not what-" reki was once again cut off by joe who playfully punched him in the shoulder and grinned. "damn, didn't know you had it in you to ask her out" joe laughed "and i didn't think y/n would ever confe-"

"I'M MOVING TO MIYAGI!" she immediately cut him off, mainly to prevent joe's big mouth from spilling anything, and just to get it out of the way.

"WHAT?!" they all collectively exclaimed

"are you serious? that's pretty far away" shadow said with furrowed brows "yeah... what about S?" miya asked with a small frown

"i'll have to quit" y/n says as she steals a fry from cherry's plate "i'll go one last time later."

"miyagi.." cherry mumbled as he swats her hand away from his food. "where in miyagi will you be staying?" he asked. "i don't know" she answered with a shrug. "but im going to a school named aoba johsai i think."

"carla, tell me about that school." almost immediately, carla had responded. "okay master" it said.

"aoba johsai, also known as seijoh, is a private school located at miyagi prefecture. they are mostly known for their performance in volleyball, having competed in numerous tournaments and had made a name for themselves through the sport and successfully deemed themselves as a powerhouse school. "

"volleyball?" y/n hummed in curiosity "how do you play that?" she asked cherry. "i wouldn't know." he replied "though it's a sport where you play with a team. why? would you like to join?" he asked

"probably not" y/n shrugged

"oi, rookie! are you really moving?" joe asked with a small frown "S would get boring without you, yknow?"

"i am" she replied "and i think S would be fine with you guys and reki in it"

reki looked at her and smiled. the redhead slung his arm around her shoulders and picked up his board "how bout we have a beef one last time before you go?" reki suggested "we could all go against each other. just for the fun of it."

"sure, but you'll lose, just so you know" joe boasted as he flexed his biceps. "hah?! just cus you're bigger and more muscular doesn't mean you'll win!" reki whined

"yeah!" y/n agreed with a huff "reki has gotten better and much faster! and he knows more tricks now. he even did a snowboarding trick and-"

miya quickly cut her off before she could go on a full rant about the redhead. "let's just go" miya groaned out as he grabbed his board. "man, are you sure you're not together" shadow sweat dropped as he followed miya and dragged them both out of the restaurant

"we're not!" reki exclaimed with a laugh "why would you even think that would happen? we're just best friends"

"right.. best friends" y/n agreed

shadow sweat dropped as he turned to look at her, only to be met with her teary eyes and her quivering smile, looking like she’s on the verge of crying her eyes out like a child.

"are you okay?" shadow muttered sheepishly as he watched her hastily wipe her eyes and pout like a child "yes" she replied with a huff

"oh, is that so?" miya cooed with a cat-like grin as he stalked closer to her side "i mean it makes sense" he said "the heroine shouldn't be with a slime, after all"

shadow deadpanned as he watched miya slyly lock their arms together with a grin "so who should she be with? you?" he scoffed "ofcourse!" miya wholeheartedly agreed. "im the hero so the heroine should be with me!"

shadow sweat dropped as he watched miya hug her arm and look at them with a smug cat-like smirk. "dude, aren't you like thirteen?" shadow deadpanned

y/n smiled and patted his head with a soft laugh "yup, you're right" she agreed jokingly, her smile widening as miya's face exploded into bright shades of red. "i-it doesn't mean i like you though!" he shrieked out "im just saying that we would be compatible!!"

"i see." she muttered "japanese people are so hard to decipher"

cherry and joe came out of the restaurant and got on their boards, urging them to do the same. "cmon, let's go there before too many people arrive" joe said as he stretched his arms

"last one to arrive buys everyone boba!!" reki announced as he skated away, pulling y/n along as he does so

"ha?! oi! unfair you should've counted!!" shadow exclaimed before hastily catching up to them "hmp, as if i'll lose to any of you slimes." miya muttered as he sped up

"oh please. you all make me pay anyways." cherry mumbled with a sigh as he got on carla and calmly caught up to them

"well you got the most cash" joe shrugged with a grin

"shut up you gorilla."

"i'll really miss their banters." y/n mumbled as she looked back to watch joe and cherry hit each other with their board. "hey, it's not like we can't visit you" reki laughed

"would you visit me reki?" she asked with a hopeful gleam in her eyes. "it would be strange not being with you.."

"of course! i'll visit you like every week!" reki reassured with a wide grin

"heh, as if you got the cash for that" shadow sneered from beside him.

"i-im gonna save up, then i'll visit you every week!" reki cleared his throat with a nervous laugh

her smile widened as she stared at reki in admiration and pure glee.

"okay, im counting on it!"

honestly the reposting thing really gets on my nerves because. let me tell you, as someone who's more experienced in art than writing, art is HARD. people who do it for a living deserve so much more credit than they get, because there is a lot more that goes into art than just "heehee cool colors and shapes". even for people like me where it's like a comforting hobby, it is definitely a process of practice makes progress, especially for digital art ( even though i do more sketch art myself ) it seems to be a big issue on instagram and twitter especially, from what i've seen

for me writing is harder because i just. generally struggle with finding the words and capturing feelings and imagery well and overthinking the characterization and prose and such ( which is why writing is also an art form, just like visual art, and writers deserve credit for the work they do as well! like, my god "sleep awake" has so much time, dedication, and love put into it and it really shows in how much it resonates with people )

apologies for the rant i am just. very passionate about the arts and writing, hskrnsjs ( and if i've been sending you too many asks lately, please let me know and i can back off )

and yes, art is incredibly difficult. i did it for my gcse and it honest to god sucked the life out of me. i mostly do digital now and only do it for fun, and i still mostly suck at it but it's okay i enjoy doing it for myself!! and it's INCREDIBLY difficult 100 percent. i'm in absolute awe of people who do it like... frequently.

i struggle with the same stuff when it comes to writing, i truly do. i ALWAYS worry about characterisation most of all, especially with my own characters because it can be difficult to remember all the little quirks and habits i've afforded them, y'know? but as i said, writing definitely isn't as difficult for me anymore. i can basically do it without even thinking too hard at this point. i don't think i could write such a mammoth of a fic if i couldnt.

imho people take plagiarism of writing way more seriously than art and it baffles me. how can you see two pieces of work beside each other and decide one is worth more than the other? everyone goes into a frenzy when written work is stolen, but as soon as it's a piece of art it's all 'oh, you should take it as a compliment' or 'oh, should've watermarked it better' etc. artists deserve far more respect than the internet ever deigns to afford them. it's sickening.

#and the thing abt art plagiarism is that it's so WIDESPREAD #like take editing for example #ive been in the video editing community since VINE #and the amount of editors who include fanart in their edits and thumbnails and then just proceed not to credit the artists is insane #stolen art is used for EVERYTHING #fanfic covers #aesthetic headbanners for imagines and headcanon posts #those matching profile picture bot accounts that just upload art of two people split into two squares #YOU ALL DRIVE ME INSANE!!!#RESPECT ARTISTS!!! I was re-reading some older chapters of Sketch and I came across the moment Donna shared with Y/n before her ass DRUGGED HER but anyways, does Donna feel some type of way for reader? Like they are barely acquaintances and even that’s pushing it because she deadass roofied her but she was lowkey feeling herself when the reader was like despite one of your eye balls being engulfed in flesh and puss, you’re still a baddie. Donna was feeling butterflies from a small compliment. Is Donna just so… everything starved that she combusts as soon as she gets an ounce of attention or was she like damn I’m about to betray my cult leader and try to get laid? IM SO SORRY IF I’M JUST LOOKING TOO MUCH INTO IT! Donna just feels like the type of person to OBSESS over someone if they so much as breathe the same air as her lmaoooo

Once again I’m so sorry if everything I said is dumb, I enjoy reading your story so much! The depth of all the characters is seriously incredible, thanks again for working so hard to share it with us!

💀💀💀okay, so, originally the game plan was to have Donna feel something for reader and that caused a little brief tension between reader and Alcina but I changed it because I wasn’t feeling that plot line for a number of reasons so I reworked chapter 39. Right now, Donna finds reader to be interesting, kind and very attractive from how she was during the first dinner with the lords in chapter 9 and how reader complimented her in chapter 39, even though reader’s perception of Donna was warped during that time (reader doesn’t know what Donna actually looks like) but she understands that her and Alcina are together so she’s not going to do anything to get in the way of that. Reader’s just one of those people who will tell you you’re pretty if she thinks you’re pretty so Donna was like “oh, uh, okay. Thank you.” And took a bit of an interest. However, the interest isn’t completely a result of Donna finding the reader to be fascinating and we’ll see more of that later tho, I swear. Remember, we still have a whole conversation between Alcina and Donna that we have yet to see

I honestly can understand if that part, or anything between chapters 37-40 were confusing because I was still doing my “post every three days” thing at the time and was focusing more on getting chapters out than making them coherent, I would say, which I why I took a break and why it takes me much longer to post chapters now. I’m in the process of reworking my old chapters now and those sections are ones I wanna fix a bit so things are a bit more clear.
