chenle was the very first smut i posted on here, i'm glad he made a comeback, it is rare to see a chenle smut, i hope you like it 💓!
morning sex with chenle before you guys start the day.
your eye's fluttered opened, confused as you felt your boyfriend grinding his morning woods against your ass. "chenle?" you called out to him, but he did answer. "babe, what are you do-oh?" you turned over, facing him, your annoyed frown slowly turning into a smirk as you come to the realization that he's sleeping.
"b..babe please." he moaned in a whispered tone. "please." he was having a wet dream. "please im so hard, please do something." his hips bucked up into the air desperately.
you looked at the clock, you both had 20 minutes before you had to get up and start your routines—why not, you chenle talked about fucking each other awake before, why not try it today?
you shimmed out of your pajama shorts, straddling your boyfriends legs, gently pulling his pajamas down, careful not to wake him just yet. his hard cock slapped against his stomach, you held it in your hand pumping it a few times, before hovering over his tip, slowly mounting yourself on his cock.
"fuck." you breathed heavily as his cock stretched you out, you started moving your hips up and down, bending down to press little kisses along his jaw.
chenle began to stir in his sleep, slowly waking up. "h..huh." his eyes opened. "baby what are you doing?" his voice laced with sleep.
"you were having a really interesting dream." you moaned, not stopping your movements, his lazy smile told you he was fully awake now.
"you were doing exactly this." he groaned, his hands coming down to your ass, giving it a slap. "except you were going faster." you sped up your movements as fast as you could, it wasn't often you rode chenle.
"s..so full." your hands were pressed against his chest as you bounced on his cock. "baby i know you can go a little faster, be a good girl, we don't have long." he gave your ass another slap, telling you to go faster, you obeyed. "thats it, fuck princess, bounce on my cock." he reached up to grabbed your boobs through your shirt.
"c..chenle, shit." your legs were starting to get tired, chenle took notice, immediately taking over. "it's okay, i got you." he plated his feet on the bed, wrapping his arms around your waist, fucking up into at a fast pace.
"fuck! " the wind was knocked out of you as his pace was much faster than yours and his trust more brutal.
"c..chenle, im about to cum."
his thrust were becoming less coordinated, signaling he wasn't far from his orgasm he'd been chasing since before this even started. "s...shit, me too."
"im cumming, fuck!" you moaned against his ear, body pressed against his. he pulled your ass flush against him as he painted your wall white, his own orgasm hitting him. "fuck!"
you stayed on top of him, feeling his cock soften inside you as you both came down from your high, just as your alarm went off. "i don't even think i can go into work after that."
"then take off, so we can do that again all day long."

HELLO!!! iys me again heheh, id like to request ermm.. tsukasa and minori, with a s/o that RARELY shows affection by physical touch, BUT gets really clingy when theyre half awake or when theyre sick,,, though when they fully regained their consciousness/health,, they get embarrassed about it? thank yew :3!!
♬ now playing: "suddenly clingy"
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
-> when you've got a partner as aloof and reserved as you, can you really blame them for being so surprised?
★ — chars ; tsukasa , minori
★ — notes ; MWEHEHE HELLO AGAIN LYN (i hope thats ur name and im not misreading anything somehow huhu)!!! another tsukasa and minori req... rlly love writing them so im always grateful :3 DID U KNOW I DREW MINORI FOR MY CLASS PIN THING!?!?! my teacher was nice enough to print it out for everyone hehe... still have yet to receive it bc of break but just a fun little thing that happened!! hope u enjoy <3
★ — warnings ; implied fem!reader for minori (implies that reader also attends miyamasuzaka) , otherwise none!
★ — taglist ; @akitosheart , @mintchocaur (tsukasa!!)
affiliated with @virtualbookstore ★
★ track #1: tenma tsukasa
to put it simply, tsukasa was really surprised! just the night before, you were so calm and reserved, maybe holding his hand a few times. even kissing his cheek once or twice.
... but right now? after you just woke up? you're all over him. literally. he doesn't mind, please don't get him wrong! tsukasa finds it endearing, if anything. it's just...
"tsukasa... love you..."
feeling your entire body cling onto his with such desperation... he wants to question it, but at the same time, it might risk embarrassing you and making you back away again, which isn't what he wants at all!
though the embarrassment was basically inevitable, as 20 minutes or so later, you're back to your usual self, just a little more shy this time.
"oh, goodness... tsukasa, i'm sorry, i didn't-"
"not to worry, [name]! i don't mind it one bit!"
he knows that you don't show a lot of affection normally for a reason. maybe you're too shy, maybe you're uncomfortable with it. as much as he loves it when you do, tsukasa doesn't force you to do anything! sure, he'll ask once or twice every once in a while, but he's very understanding if the answer is no.
... though, if you do it when you're fully awake for the first time... expect him to suddenly get all quiet and freeze up. it's a good thing, no worries.
★ track #2: hanasato minori
minori's way of showing her love for you is mostly words of affirmation or gift giving, so she doesn't mind that you aren't too keen on physical affection!
that doesn't mean anything bad, of course! it's not like she doesn't want to hug you, hold you, or kiss you, it's just that... she's a little shy about it. which means your lack of physical affection works out just fine.
so you can imagine how perplexed she was when you started begging for her attention, holding her hand and asking her to stay with you when you got sick.
"minori, stay a little longer... i'll feel so much better if you're here..."
minori may be an idol now, but hearing compliments from someone she truly holds near and dear to her heart... might give her a heart attack.
... but she also really adores it. after all, it makes her feel loved and special, more so since it's coming from you, of all people.
with all the training and practices she needs to attend to nowadays, minori makes sure to leave cute, handwritten notes or sweet text messages to check up on you! if you're allowed to use your phone when you're sick, that is.
when you finally recover and go back to school, it's absolutely over for the both of you. minori gets flustered easily on her own, but now that you've also lost your cool, getting all red alongside her? it's quite a cute scene from an outsider's perspective.
... the outsiders being the rest of more more jump, of course. as silly and clumsy the two of you can be, you're really the perfect pair for each other.

Top surgery experience so far, from check in on:
My surgery was pushed back a couple of hours for a patient ahead of me, I basically just laid there an extra 1.5-2 hours waiting, kind of dozing through the early morning
I do not remember even leaving the pre-op ward or falling fully asleep. Literally one minute just laying their waiting and the next I was in the post-op area waking up.
I've had some issues in the past with coming out of anesthesia very emotionally, sad or angry, but it was good this time. No crying or yelling lol.
Everyone has been so so nice taking care of me. Im staying the night in the hospital because that was the best option for me personally. Based on everything I've heard since before even booking a date is that most of my surgeon's patients do stay overnight.
I was very sleepy and out of it at first but something like 9-10 hours later, I'm wishing I had brought something to do lol.
It doesn't hurt much. I've been uncomfortable at times and my incisions are a little sore, especially the right side. Overall though my pain levels have been Way low, nothing like what I'd expected.
Obviously I don't get to see my chest right away or anything, but I feel really happy with it. It is a very odd feeling for me, being flat in the chest.
No complications so far. Keeping an eye out for hematoma obviously but from what I hear my surgery was a breeze.
Getting out of bed just to use the bathroom is a major ordeal, I have to be escorted the 15 to 20 feet to the bathroom because I'm so unsteady rn
I haven't got to see my surgeon since before surgery but I'll see her later this morning when I'm discharged. I was hoping I would get to talk to her ahead but again, I was unconscious just like that.
The hospital has an endless supply of jello and pudding and applesauce for me. Juice too. They had me order what I want for breakfast yesterday too, so I'm getting French toast later :3
The TV in here seems to have maybe 20 channels? I tried watching something for a bit but got bored.... again, wish I'd brought a book or something
My awake and alert time kind of comes and goes. Sleep a bunch, wake up for a long while with a little energy, etc...
My drains haven't been draining a ton so far. My overnight nurse says it's lower than is normal, but at least indicates I'm not developing a hematoma so?
Bottom line im doing pretty good so far! I really want to weight myself once I'm home just to see how much my breasts weighed lol.
Overall even not seeing my chest yet, I think this was a great thing for me, and I'm glad I was finally able to do it.
All I got for now!

Can you continue prompt #20? I'm a sucker for some fluff and want villain to surviveeee
Okay okay, fluff for you :3
Prompt #20 (Part 2)
(Part 1)
Villain was terrified.
They were trapped and injured, no way to get out and the only person available to help was also trapped with them.
They knew Hero was trying their best to get them out of there, but for a moment, Villain didn't want them to. They just wanted someone next to them, a reminder that they weren't here alone.
That they wouldn't die alone.
"H-Hero?" Their voice was shaky, Villain felt it was barely audible. They hoped Hero had heard them, even though their foe stood only a few feet away.
"I'm right here." That wonderful response, the reassurance feeling like a cool breeze on a boiling hot summer day. Villain closed their eyes, swallowed painfully.
"You can get us out, right?"
Hero let out a breath. Villain didn't know if they were unsure, or just tired of Villain asking. "Yeah, we'll get out."
"You're sure?" Villain couldn't help but ask.
"Mm-hm."
That wasn't enough. Villain shifted slightly, trying to face the hero. "Can-" they moved too much, they gasped in pain. "-can you come sit by me again? Just for a minute?"
Hero didn't answer, but Villain heard them approach, saw them crouch down next them, felt their arms reach out to hold them close. Villain collapsed against them, their tears falling freely as Hero squeezed them tightly.
This was it. They were really going to die down here, bleeding out in Hero's arms. Now that the hero was holding them, they found it harder to stay awake, harder to keep their eyes open. They knew giving in would be signing themself over to oblivion, but now that sounded nice.
That meant no more pain, no more fear, no more darkness. Drifting off next to Hero felt like heaven, in several different meanings.
They could finally be peaceful.
Villain was distantly aware of Hero sitting up, saying something. But they were too far gone, they couldn't hear it.
They only really wanted to protest when they felt Hero moving, their hand tightening feebly in the hero's clothes. They didn't want to stay here by themself, they didn't want to die alone.
But by now the oblivion had gotten too close, and Hero was gone.
With one last shuddering breath,
Villain was too.
They woke blearily to a faint beeping noise. For a moment, that was all they could register.
They were floating on a soft, warm cloud, not quite awake, but they weren't asleep anymore. Faint warm shapes moved beyond their half-lidded fuzzy vision, and all Villain could do at first was watch the colors go by. They listened quietly to the beeping, and to the gentle thudding of their own heart.
Finally, the rest of their senses caught up, and they slowly opened their eyes fully, taking in their surroundings.
They were lying on their back in a hospital bed, tucked beneath the blankets with their hands resting at their sides. The window to their right let in a warm glow from the sunrise, casting the room in a beautiful peach color. Another thing Villain noticed was the slight resistance around their chest as they inhaled, and it took them a moment to realize it was from a bandage.
They lifted their hand, staring at their IV for a moment.
That's when everything else sank in.
They were alive.
But where was Hero? How had they made it out? Had Hero not made it out? Were they okay? Had they been hurt? Where were they?
Villain wanted to get up, go find them. But they were too exhausted to move, too sore, to weak. Clearly still recovering, all they could do was lay there, useless.
A few minutes went by before anything happened.
A nurse slipped in, their eyebrows rising in surprise as they saw Villain awake. As they moved away from the door, someone else came in behind them.
"Hero!" Villain exclaimed. They made it! They were alright!
"Villain!" Hero rushed past the nurse to Villain's bedside, leaning down to hold the side of their face. "You're awake! Are you alright?"
A bit of Villain's usual smug and teasing tone snuck in. "What, worried about me?"
"Of course I was," Hero leaned forward, gently touching their forehead against Villain's. "I was so worried, Villain."
"Thanks for getting me out of there," Villain's hand lifted to gently cup Hero's, still pressed against the side of their face. They'd never seen the crime stopper this relieved for them, so previously concerned about them. "Thank you for... everything."
It was because of Hero that Supervillain was now gone, and Villain could finally be free.
"Of course," Hero smiled, their face illuminated in loving warm tones from the light outside.
With one last forehead touch, they stood up and backed away, letting the nurse approach Villain to check on them. They asked the criminal a few questions, adjusting things and making sure they were stable and comfortable. Then they left, telling the two they'd be back soon to bring Villain some food.
As soon as the door to Villain's hospital room was shut Hero wasted no time in settling down on the bed next to them, reclined back like Villain was with their shoulders pressed against one another.
Hero was quick to fill them in on what had happened, about how the team combing the rubble had found the two of them, and Hero had first hauled Villain up to them. The villain had been whisked away, and it'd been hours before Hero found out if they were even alive or not.
As Hero described their relief in finding that Villain was alive, Villain quietly slipped their hand into Hero's, both resting against each other on the bed. Hero gripped it tightly, but otherwise didn't acknowledge the action as they continued with their story.
Despite having been unconscious for over twenty-four hours, Villain was still exhausted. They were achingly hungry and wanted to hear Hero's story, but it wasn't long before they felt themself drifting off, their head drooping down to rest on Hero's shoulder.
They were safe with Hero, they were safe with Supervillain gone. Now that the oblivion no longer threatened to kill them, they welcomed it as they let themself finally drift off to sleep next to Hero.

General LU Headcanons part 1
Tumblr media
Heya! So I'm starting this blog with some general headcanons about the boys, I think I'll divide it in three parts so it's not too long. First up are Four, Hyrule, and Legend! Hope you enjoy :D
Part 2 Part 3
Four
It takes him so long to emerge from sleep
Like he'll be in a haze for like 20 minutes, not able to form any coherent thoughts
Which is kind of a surprise because he's one of the early risers, and is super reactive once fully awake
He tends to talk to himself a lot, mostly when he does something or thinks through a problem
It's mostly to exteriorize all the noise inside his head tho
The others aren't as weirded out by it than he feared, and he's thankful for it
Whenever they're in a market or just in a town, he always finds himself drawn to craftsmanship
Like if they need to interrogate people about monsters and stuff, he'll go ask artisans mostly
He feels more comfortable around them
It feels like home
Also he likes to compare his work to other blacksmith's
He feels like he has a lot to learn still, and he's very curious about how the craft has evolved with time
He doesn't know first aid and the scent of blood makes him sick, but if his teammates need tending he'll do his best
He tries to see their wounds as metal work needing repairs
It helps him keep his cool
But he'd rather leave it to someone else
Hyrule
Another early riser, but he hates it
He loves sleeping in and wishes his body would let him sometimes
But oh well, when it's time to wake up it's time to wake up
He's a very light sleeper too, like the wind blowing in the leaves above would wake him up
He hates it
Botany nerd
Loves keeping track of the new plants he finds along the way
He always asks the Link from the Hyrule they're in if he knows about it, and will pick them up if he can't get an answer, to study them later hopefully
He rarely can, but when they have a moment he'll either find a plant book (and a Link who can read it for him) or straight up ask someone if they know about the plant
He's always so polite and genuinely curious, people can't help but answer
He accidentally set Sky's stuff on fire once when showing off his fire magic to Wind
Sky was too impressed to truly be mad at him tho
(Also Hyrule replaced all of the stuff that couldn't be repaired, don't ask him how)
He doesn't mind blood and grime and gore, but can't handle anything with maggots in it
He'll stitch up anything, he'll put bones back in place if necessary, but one bug? In a wound? Don't count on him
He can keep his calm even before the grossest injuries, which is why he's often fixing up the others after a fight
He rarely uses his healing magic tho, he knows he'll tire too easily, and he can't help them if he can barely stay awake
So potions potions potions
He's a gentle caregiver but you better do as he says when you're hurt
Legend
A heavy sleeper, and he dreams a lot, but he never remember them
Probably for the best if you ask him
He usually wakes late, but never truly rested unfortunately
That never stoped him from being immediately efficient and fully awake tho
He knows he has a reputation of being sharp and closed off, but he's a really good listener
He's the kind of person curse the world with you when you vent until you're in the right headspace to find a solution
He kind of encourages the others in their dumbest ideas just to see what'll happen
(not the too dangerous ones, of course)
But he's curious, and after all the adventures he's been through, he believes that if he survived all of this, surely Wild will survive trying to cook a bomb flower
He did, but Twilight almost died of stress
He's the one who helps Warrior with refilling their inventory when they're low on supplies
He's a great negotiator and can get them twice the supplies for the same price
He's sometimes even charming enough to get them all a free meal
It's his favorite skill
He doesn't mind blood but will not look at broken limbs
Not his own, not other's
He tries to keep his cool around the others to not make them panic, but he really hates broken bones
If one of them is hurt, he'll try to distract them and make sure they have water and enough heat
He'll also keep them in place if they move around too much for Hyrule or Warrior to work on them
He's not gentle, but he's still reassuring somehow

a very personal evening checklist
ʀᴇᴍɪɴᴅᴇʀ → It takes an average of 66 days to create or change a habit. Don’t give up now!
☐ Take off your shoes when you get home. According to several studies, the sole of a shoe can carry hundreds of thousands of bacteria. In a biblical passage, God is said to have spoken to Moses in these words: “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.” Isn't that what the safety and comfort of a home means to us? A sanctuary for the soul? Taking off one's shoes is just the smallest sign of reverence. For this very reason, I try to keep my environment as clean as possible.
☐ Fulfill your commitments. Study, finish your work or respond to the last emails of the day. I don't get changed until I'm done. This is an important part as it allows me to ease my mind about the duties I know I am handling. It's hard for me to relax knowing I have a something to do.
☐ Disconnect, break away from screens as early as possible. Try to get away from the constant attention and energy demanded by our electronic gadgets. Blue light causes your brain to believe that it's still daytime, resulting in a reduction of the production of melatonin. In other words, your brain starts working to keep you awake. For those of you who are curious, I don't watch television, as I don't have one.
☐ If possible, be physically active. Walk for 20 minutes, do some yoga, use the exercise bike or go to the gym. Remember that cleaning is a double-duty activity. It's a great way to get you to move. Try to establish a physical routine: depending on your needs, try to stick to a program of one, two, three… or six sessions a week. If you really don't have time, focus on walking to get to and/or come back from work.
☐ Wash yourself. Again, everyone has a different approach to it, depending on their resources and organization. Science recommends taking a shower in the evening, because during the day we accumulate many bacteria, viruses and parasites that affect the regeneration of our skin. During the night, our skin has plenty of time to regenerate. (It is important to remember that taking two showers a day is not recommended: first, because it destabilizes your skin, which has not fully regenerated, second, because it is aggressive for sensitive skins and third, because it is not very nice to Mother Nature.)
☐ Get comfortable. Except for events or evenings when I'm not home alone, I prepare my dinner and enjoy it in my sleepwear.
☐ Prepare a light dinner. Avoid all forms of stimulants such as caffeine, sugar, energy drinks. Try to have an early dinner. I know this is cultural (coming from a family where dinner is served around 8 or 9pm), but a light, early dinner will help you sleep better, have better digestion, boost your metabolism and reduce your blood pressure.
☐ I also use this time to enjoy the presence of my loved ones or to think about calling them, or sending them a message… because they represent a real emotional support for me. Studies have shown that spending time with friends and family contributes greatly to happiness. Among other things, it reduces anxiety, increases productivity and improves mental health.
☐ If you have time, take care of yourself. Follow your skincare routine, even if it's as simple as applying a moisturizer and using deodorant, as it is for me. Remember to brush your teeth. Use slippers at home. Slippers are great for protecting your feet from the cold and keeping your blood flow from slowing down.
☐ Like with my morning routine, I exercise my mind, my faith and/or my creativity for a few minutes. I think it is as important to lighten your mind as it is to exercise it. Here again, I pray for a few minutes. I also write a few notes about my day in my journal. I have developed a sort of obsession with diaries from past centuries and the desire to record intimate details of our lives… and it is true that I harbor the hope that someday I will look back at my writings, much later in life, and find a sort of comforting nostalgy in them. Reading is also one of my favorite hobby. I often fall asleep while reading.
☐ Plan the next day as best you can. I know that some people find it very helpful to prepare their lunch, outfit and/or bag for the next day. This is the time to do what feels right for you. As for me, I just set my alarm clock (If possible, get an alarm clock that is not your phone.)
☐ Determine a time to go to bed and stick to it. If it takes a while to fall asleep (this obviously does not apply to people with sleep disorders...), I invite you to hang out in bed with a book or some relaxing music. I guess I'm pretty harsh, because when this happens, I prefer to condemn myself to boredom, in the dark and in silence. I think it works for me.
I'm so glad that my morning routine inspired many people. I just wanted to come back to something that I feel is very important: Life is made up of countless unexpected events. The world is not all black and white, but is composed of a multitude of shades. This means that none of your days will ever resemble the other. Be flexible and forgive yourself: lists are only there to help us organize this immense chaos that is life. Sometimes, self-care also means allowing the unplanned: a rest, or a change of plans. Again, this list is intended to be personal. Feel free to rewrite it!

Return to origin chapter 10
Branch wakes up to hearing Poppy wincing in pain.
Bolting up he goes over to her, what was it? Was it something new exclusive to her? His mind begins to race with the possibilities of what's going on.
"Hey Poppy are you ok? What's wrong?" He asks as he gently shakes her awake. "Its fine Branch just slept wrong on my....my tail!" She exclaims as she gets up to go to the bathroom to see but she frogot that her legs have completely changed shape and falls down thankfully he catches her before she could hit the ground.
"Woah there someone's excited" He chuckles. "I sure am! I'm getting a new appendage and I bet it's going to be super cute and I can't wait to stylize it!" She exclaims excited.
"Well how about we work on walking first before you do anything else ok?" He suggests to which she nods. "Now I want you to try walking on mostly your pawpads and take your heel off the ground while doing so" explains to her and she follows what he says and soon enough she is in a standing position.
"Woah this sure feels weird" She says getting a feel fro her balance. She takes a look at her new legs just like with Branch they are now a digigrade shape and her feet are the same shade of pink as her paws.
"Yeah don't worry it won't feel as weird when your tail fully grows in, it gets easier as time goes on" He explains as she heads to the bathroom as he heads to the kitchen to give her some privacy.
*In the bathroom*
Poppy is so excited to see what her new tail looks like! *feeling around to where the dull ache is she is disappointed to feel that it's only a small lump. Looking in the mirror the lump is around the same shade of pink as her hair if a bit darker. "Aww here I was hoping it was already grown a bit" She sighs as she leaves the bathroom.
'Just be patient Poppy it will grow soon enough' the mentally tells herself as she heads to the kitchen to see Branch who is cooking some eggs. "So how did it go? Wait let me guess it was just a small lump wasn't it?" He asks guessing it right on the nose. "Yep I wish It wasn't tho" She complains as she lays her head on the table.
"Don't worry it wasn't long before mine grew maybe a half hour at best. When the pressure stops that's when you can look" He explains as he places her some sunny side up eggs just the way she likes them. She eagerly digs into her food finishing pretty quickly compared to him who like to take him time when eating.
"You sure are energetic today" he says chuckling at her. "Of course I am Branch why wouldn't I be? It's the final day of my transformation and I'm growing a tail! I have always wondered what it's like to have a tail!" She exclaims. "Well take it from me it's annoying most of the time, it shows how your feeling and I don't like that also it seems to have a mind if it's own I swear" He complains looking at said tail with a glare to which it curls up as if to say 'I do?' Before moving away.
"I can't even hold anything with it becuase it's not prehensile. All I can is store stuff I it that's about it" He says taking a bite of his food. "Well who knows mine might be different you never know. Tails can come in all kinds of shapes and sizes" She says to which he nods "True" He says agreeing with her.
She decides to leave Branch to his breakfast as she heads back to continue her scrapbooking though she is having a hard time focusing she is just waiting for the pressure on her spine to release already she wants to see her tail!
She has to wait a agonizing 20 minutes before the pressure releases and she hasn't ran that quick in she doesn't even know how long. Turning around in the bathroom mirror she gasps.
It was small like she thought it would be as it's still growing only the length of one of her fingers. The fur of it is the same shade of pink as her skin while it has a curly tuft of fur at the end of it,the shade of it a bit darker than her hair but not as dark as her paws.
Gently she touches it with her paw and it reacts by twitching a bit before trying to curl around her finger but due to its very short length it's unable to. She can't belive she now has a tail. She can her own paw when she touches it showing that it's in fact connected to her and has its own nerves and senses and everything.
She makes it back to the kitchen as happy as she could be. "So how did it go?" Branch asks as he easily heard her running to the bathroom with his new hearing. "Its adorable! I can't wait until it gets longer! It's different compared to yours thats for sure though" She explains and that pipes his curiosity just what did it look like? Oh well he will find out soon enough.
Poppy heads back to finish her scrapbook while he decides to work on his jigsaw puzzle that still needs to be finished he had just been so preoccupied with Well everything else he just left it there half finished so with nothing better to do he gets to work on it.
It's around lunchtime when he sees Poppy again. That's when he sees her tail, it's certainly different compared to his for sure. It's already to the back of her knees and something tells him hers is easily going to be longer than his.
Judging by its shape its prehensile, lucky her. The fur at the end is curly for some reason but he won't question it. "Hi Branch!" She yells as she hugs him tightly tail wagging like crazy. "So? What do you think of my tail? Cute huh?" She says twisting around to show him the new appendage.
"Well it certainly suits you" He says looking at the limb that is alot more reactive than his but then again it might just be him as Poppy often wears her emotions on her sleeve and tails react to emotions and how a person is feeling. Meanwhile he is harder to read at times and it sort of reflects on his tail.
"Did you finally finish that scrapbook?" He asks as she has been at this for a long while now. Usually it doesn't take her this long to make one but then again it's hard to scrapbook something that hasn't happened yet and don't know what will happen so once she knew what was going to happen it became much easier.
"Yep sure did!" She exclaims as she places it onto the table. "I can't wait to share it with everyone. I have so much to tell them" She says tail once again wagging at the thought of seeing everyone again. "Please don't tell me your going into heavy detail about the transformation" Branch says paling at the thought.
"I won't don't worry I'm just telling them the basics of what happened" She says waving her hand. "Soooo jigsaw puzzle? Oh right we never did finish it so let's finish it today as like a milestone for completing this transformation thing" She says thinking positive just like she always does. "Sure good idea" He says smiling at her and the troll couple got to work.
When they work together with one goal in mind they end up working really fast but then again this is a one thousand piece puzzle and Branch had only around 600 pieces done when he started today but still!
While they were working Branch is alerted to a new sensation at his tail. Looking back he can see that Poppy has wrapped her tail around his. At this point it reaches her feet with how long it is,just how much longer was it going to get?! Poppy seems oblivious to this as she continues to work on the puzzle meanwhile Branch is trying very hard not to blush.
He both loves and hates how their tails seem to fit so perfectly together. It was like how they held hands well paws now it just felt right in a weird way. Turning back to the puzzle the couple manage to finish it near dinnertime.
It was still a bit early for dinner and now they litterally have nothing to do. They have already cleaned up the place in preparation for Poppy heading back to the village, all the dishes were clean, all the stuff they used was put away. Poppy looks back at her tail it's longer now and it even drags on the floor just a bit but not by much thankfully.
"Wow didn't expect it to grow so long" Branch says whistling at its length. "Yeah me neither here's to hoping nobody steps on it or you know shuts a door on it that would hurt.... alot" She says her ears lowering as she could only imagine the pain.
"What do we do now?" Poppy asks him to which he has no answer for once. "If you want can we.....cuddle?" He mumbles the last part out but Poppy easily heard it.
Cuddle? Oh my sugar they haven't cuddled this entire time! Well they sort of did yesterday during her whole fiasco with her legs but that didn't really count as she was in pain. Usually she is the one who asks for him to ask it's really special as Branch is a troll who doesn't like to be touched much as evident by hug time, if he were the one to initiate touch it doesn't bother him but when it comes to surprise hug he hates them. Apparently it bothers him due to sensory issues so she made it clear to not surpirse hug him.
"Sure we can cuddle. I'm so happy you asked me to!" She happy grabs him as they lay on the couch as she lays her head on his chest as they both just enjoy eachothers presence and warmth. No words were exchanged between the two trolls becuase sometimes words weren't needed to be said.
Soon both of them are purring in both happiness and content "Thank you for being there for me Poppy I really mean it" Branch says as he squeezes her gently. "Thank you too Branch for being there for me as well" She says gently squeezing back as they both gently kiss each other for a few seconds before letting go and smiling at eachother.
Who knew this whole transformation would bring them even closer together than before? Soon though they had to stop as both of their stomachs growled demanding to be fed.
Groaning the two stop cuddling as they get up "I was hoping we could cuddle a bit longer" Poppy says smiling. "Same but looks like our stomachs don't agree with us" He says as he heads into the kitchen. He decides he is going a bit fancy today as it's their final day of being cooped up her together so he gets some meat and begins to cook it for the both of them.
Soon enough Poppy could smell the cooked meat and it takes everything in her not to drool. She has to wait for at least 10 minutes before Branch tells her the foods ready and she eagerly heads there ready to dig in. "Here ya go. Thought we should have something special for today as a sort of celebration" He tells her.
"Aww yeah normally I would break out the glitter but I won't today as I know you wouldn't want glitter in your food" Poppy says before digging into the meat. "Yeah I wouldn't want that" Branch chuckles at her statement before joining her.
Soon enough their plates are clean and their stomachs are full. Branch goes to clean the plates as Poppy gets ready to do her night routine. Soon enough he joins her as she lies down in her sleeping bag and he heads to his bed.
"Can't wait for tomorrow" Poppy tells him. "Yep the whole village is going to see our new selves" He says sort of dreading tomorrow. He truly hopes they will accept them. He has no doubt they would accept Poppy she was queen after all but would they accept him? The former grey recluse? He could only hope.
He closes his eyes and soon falls asleep.
Fun fact if two trolls tails are entertwined it's a sign of a good healthy relationship that is sure to last. Only couples and family members would entertwine tails as some can be sensitive so it's a sign of a strong trust between the two.
Hope yall enjoyed the cute broppy moments and yassss they kissed. I feel like they would take it slow with their relationship and wouldn't kiss too often so each one they savor but not too much
Also sorry for this chapter being shorter than the others
ANYWHO here is poppys design and yes I know her crown isn't there I just didn't want to draw it but I assure you it's there in the story

Time Anxiety
Pairing: Task force 141/ soap x GN! Reader Word Count: 2.9k Idea: the reader who has time anxiety and when soap invites them to movie night they freak out about the time. "meet us in the movie room at 8:00 don't be late ;P" *shows up like 45 minutes early sitting on the couch the whole time* the guys walk in like 10 late and the reader looks at them like a kicked puppy bc they thought the guys had pranked them and didn't want to have a movie night with them. "I thought you guys weren't going to show up 🥺🥺 its 10 minutes past when you said to be here by I thought this was y’alls way of saying you didn't like me-" soap interjects with a "woht?! whey'd ja everh think thaht?!" "I dunno I just have a lot of anxiety about stupid stuff" reader ends up passing out on Soaps shoulder bc of the long day they had and the built-up anxiety that had worn them out Proof Read: Yes
You trudged through the hallway on your way back from a solo mission. It wasn’t a horrible mission, it went really well in fact. You were just fucking exhausted, eyes drooping, feet dragging, shoulder slumping exhausted. You were ready to get out of the grody clothes, into the shower, and pass out.
Once you had made it to the showers, using as close to boiling water as you could have, you scrubbed the dirt, smell, and residing adrenaline from your skin. When you stepped out you put on lotion (you weren’t going to be a heathen with dry skin) and put on your most comfortable set of sweats and a loose shirt. The residing warmth in your skin nearly lulls you to sleep just standing there in the locker room.
The mess hall hadn’t opened quite yet and there was no telling if you would be able to stay awake long enough to even be first in line. You had decided to forgo the mess hall altogether this afternoon, foretelling that the conversations around you would be too loud for your taste. Sometimes it wasn’t terrible, but you really did have a tendency to let your anxiety and aversions lead you in life. Besides, you really couldn’t stand the idea of having to sit alone once again.
It felt as if no matter how long you were going to be part of the 141 the guys would never get as close to you as they would each other. You would be lying if you said it didn't bother you, of course, you want to be liked by your team, but you were just absolute shit about starting a conversation and meeting new people.
“Thank you once again stupid fucking anxiousness” you chastise your brain for being the way that it is. It has its perks, you have some of the best intuition about people and situations (you never did like that ‘Graves’ guy) it was just at times like this that you wished you could just turn it off. But hey, it had created quite the talent in you to never be late to anything. Ever.
Swinging the door to your room open, as soon as your eyes locked with your bed it was as if you could hear a choir of angels descending, singing a beautiful song of your victory. Your prize? Glorious, glorious sleep. Completely disregarding the fact that it was still light out you crawled into the thin, but soft sheets and yawn. The weight of the day draped like a blanket over you, no thoughts in your mind as you were lulled to sleep.
Knocking is what woke you up, it very well could have been soft knocking but to you it sounded like banging. You shoot up, wide-eyed, and nearly trip over yourself getting off the bed to rush the door. Yanking the door open with your eyes filled with bewilderment and panic. You see the figure in front of you jump at the sudden movement, he looks at you and an apologetic look washes over his face.
“Ah, shite did I wake you? I'm sorry dude." A sheepish smile washes over the face of the man in front of you. It takes a second for you to fully be able to process who the hell is standing in front of you. About 20 seconds of dead silence hung in the air, anxiety rattling in your ribs. You attempt to ground yourself with a breathing exercise you had learned somewhere on the internet.
'Five things I can see. Fuck.. The door frame. Soap. Soap's mohawk. Soap's eyes. Soap’s -.'
Realizing that he was all you were thinking about you shook your head and forcibly snapped yourself out of whatever trance you were in.
"Huh?"
You sounded like an idiot. In all honesty, it is the only thing you could muster without your voice cracking. The team already thought you were young, no need in giving them even more incentive to pick on you about it. Soap chuckled at you again and apologized once more.
"Ah… I wanted to invite you to a movie night we are having, the other guys will be there.. in the common room." He hesitated over a couple of his words giving room for suspicion on your end. As if he could sense your trepidation he clarifies his reasoning.
"I just had figured you would want a way to unwind after your solo mission today... but I'm now realizing.. that you may have just wanted... uh to sleep."
He releases an airy, awkward laugh, scratching at the back of his neck. He locked eyes with you watching as you deliberated your response. You had never actually been “invited” to one of their movie nights, only ever seeing them in the common room on your way back from the mess hall. Thinking about it made your pulse skyrocket, they wanted to hang out with you now? What has changed?
“I… uhm sure… that uh.. sounds fun.”
Your face did not reflect your words, and your words did not match your internal emotions. You were excited but you were also very nervous, you began to go over the positive things before you were able to fall too deep into the negatives of your own mind. It would be good, a bonding experience with the group, and you would be able to relax then. Forcing a smile on your face to hopefully aid in the portrayal of the feeling of excitement instead of fear, but you probably just looked like you had to shit… honestly. He perked up immensely once hearing your answer and clapped a hand on your shoulder.
“Great! Well we already decided what movie we are going to watch, hope you like Rango.. but we start at 8 okay?”
You nodded fervently, not able to trust your voice once again, and cracked your knuckles together in a habitual nervous tic.
“Good good! We will see you then! Don't be late.” With a sharp smile and a wink, he lifted his hand and spun on his heel to leave.
“And wear somethin’ comfy!” He shouted with one last word over his shoulder.
You snake your way back into the room fully and shut your door. When your hand leaves the handle you then notice a slight tremor in your hands. Taking breaths to stabilize yourself, you look at the clock hoping that you would have time to mentally prepare for interaction with the people you had assumed did not want to get to know you. 6:30. Great, you had only a little less than an hour of sleep. You knew you would be fine, and with an hour and a half until 8:00, perfect… that's three segments of 30 minutes before you had to be there.
Well maybe getting time to know your way around the common room could take a little bit of time. You mentally scratch off 15 minutes, to be able to get comfortable in the common room in your plan. And you had figured if you walked at your normal pace it would take you less than five minutes to get to the common room, so naturally you give yourself those 5 minutes for it. Realizing to yourself that you now have 20 minutes marked off for preparation, now you only have an hour and ten minutes by yourself.
You couldn’t stand being in your room any longer, all you were doing was sitting and overthinking, and it started to suffocate you. So you left. You grabbed a hoodie from your room and left for the common room. It was only 7:15. When you had gotten to the common room you noticed things were a little out of place compared to how it normally is. Choosing to sit on the couch you sat on the center cushion and put your hoodie on, the silence becoming deafening. You pulled out your phone and decided it would be a good time to check emails and messages that you had received. That had lasted a whole two minutes. 7:17. You really had nothing better to do, so you found one of the little push games on your phone and tried to distract yourself from the one question that had been looming over you since the Scotsman had asked you to join them
“What if this is a fucking prank?”
You hated that thought; you wished your brain wasn’t that untrusting of people you had known for nearly 6 months now, but it just came naturally to you. You so desperately wanted to get along with them, to be able to share some of their inside jokes, to be as close to them as they are to each other. Mindlessly tapping at your phone did nothing to help those thoughts that were digging their way into your brain. When you finally are able to look at the time on your phone, you were less than pleased with what you found. 7:46. The universe had to be fucking with you, sure 30 minutes was a decent amount of time, but not a good thing for the newfound anxieties coursing through your veins.
'Where were the others?'
As a rule of thumb you typically showed up to a place 15 - 20 minutes early depending on the event, just to get situated and know what the vibe of the room felt like. There was no way for you to know how Soap, Ghost, or even Gaz liked to partition their time. It was nothing new for you to be the first one to arrive at any kind of event.
However, when you had read 7:58 on the lock screen of your phone and no one had shown up yet, you had begun to panic. The thoughts of them pulling a cruel prank on you began to boil over in you. A pit formed in your stomach, and you hug yourself in reassurance, was it beginning to get hotter in the common room. Or was it just you? As soon as the clock hit 8 pm you fought the frown that had begun to form on your face with a sharp bite to your lip. You were not going to cry over this. And so you sat and waited for the gang to arrive.
And you waited
And waited. For what felt like an eternity.
You flip your phone over and the screen lit up. Completely dumbfounded at the time that currently read on the screen. 8:09. You wanted to go back to your room, but you also wanted to give into their little game and finally just look for them. Then you heard a door opening and closing and finally heard their voices. Tears welled in your eyes as you heard them laughing. Were they laughing at you? You scrubbed your face with the sleeves of your hoodie before anyone could see your weakness.
“Oh hey! Looks like you beat us!” You hear Soap gruffly laugh out, and when you looked over you spotted Gaz, Price, Ghost, and Soap just having come through the doorway. They had looked at you with a small amount of confusion and concern in their eyes. Soap caught your eye and silently asked what was wrong, so you looked away. God, you must have looked like a kicked puppy if they knew that something was wrong from just one quick look. When you refused to answer Soap asked aloud,
“What’s the matter, dude? You alright?”
That is when you had realized your mistake. They had just been late. That was all. You had no reason to be fussing over something so small, so menial, it was only ten fucking minutes. You hummed a confirmation and nodded your head. Once again forcing a terrible smile you stated,
“Just excited for the movie.” A pause filled the room for about 8 seconds after and you shuffled slightly in your seat.
“You're absolute shit at lying.” Partially taken aback you turn your head to the sound of the voice. Price had stepped forward and the team had their eyes on him. You locked eyes with him and said in the most uncertain tone,
“I’m sorry?”
"Apology accepted. I won't knock you for it, just remind me to teach you about avoiding interrogation later." he chuckled at his stupid joke. Your eyes roam over to the three others both Gaz and Soap are looking at their Captain, but Ghost is staring a hole into your head. You swore that man secretly had laser vision and just never told anyone.
"Well, are you going to tell us what's the matter or are we going to have to use the American's way of interrogating?” He laughed again in an attempt to keep the conversation as light as he could, but it didn't affect the tension in the room. If anything it made it more awkward. Gaz made a face that would have made you laugh if your mood hadn't been completely soiled. At least Soap had laughed for you. Gnawing on your lip once more, you take a breath, there was no use in hiding this, if they could tell you were bothered it was dumb to hold it in. You opened your mouth, still trying to gather your thoughts on how to correctly word how you were feeling. It was a dumb thing, they would surely scoff at you.
“Kid, you can take your time okay? And if you want us to get outta yer face we can.”
“I thought you guys weren’t going to show up.” You say with a heavy heart, the tone in your voice laced with the fear of rejection. “Soap said to be here at 8 and I’ve been sitting here since like 7:15 and when you guys weren’t showing up I thought that it was you guy’s way of saying that you didn't like me and didn’t really want me here-”
“What?! How come wid ye ever think that?!” You jump at the quick Scottish shout that comes from Soap. The question forces you to think about the days you were left out of things as a kid and such. The thoughts are all fleeting but they still had managed to crawl their way out a little. Cracking your knuckles, you cast your eyes away from them. “I don’t know,” pausing you look back with an ashamed look shadowing over your face “I just have a lot of anxiety about that kinda stuff I guess… early is on time, and on time is late ya’ know? No matter what the situation is, it's kinda stupid.”
While you let your words hang in the air you take an abnormally large breath and run your hands over your face, then through your hair. Tiredness washing over you, your eyes drooping ever so slightly you realize how little sleep you were running on at this point.
“It's not stupid to have anxiety about stuff like that,” a deep, gruff voice rang through the room, “it's completely normal for someone to be liked by their peers.” There was no need to even look over at him because you could feel his eyes through his mask on your head.
“Yea, it literally pack mentality, it's kinda like a survival instinct. It's nature.” Gaz butts in and that's when you look over. ‘Pack mentality. Interesting take on it,’ you thought to yourself ‘does this mean we’re… a pack?’ your face scrunches up involuntarily as you try not to make it weird in your head. The four of them chuckle at something you didn't hear, so you shoot them all a quizzical look. Soap smiles at you and shakes his head. He walks over to where you are sitting on the couch and the others follow. Soap sits on your left and Ghost sits on your right, Gaz claims the chair and Price snatches a pillow from the seat to use on the floor. You offer your seat to Price, but he declines with a quick and adamant.
“No, thank you. Those idiots take up too much space and mohawk over there likes to cuddle during movies.”
You thought he was joking until a quarter of the way through the movie, you began to doze off and you felt yourself being pulled from the right to the left. You open your eyes, not even have realized you had closed them, and watch as Soap pulls you into his side with his arm. ‘This motherfucker’ you thought to yourself. You could feel the heat rise to the back of your neck and your ears burn. You had stiffened at the touch and looked up at him with a face that said ‘really?’ He simply smiled at you and leaned towards your ear, whispering “Just like a pack?” Your eyes widen at the very delayed information, that you had asked if the group was a pack.. out.. loud. God, you really were an idiot.
You half-heartedly shoved him away and attempted to scoot over closer to Ghost but the arm around your shoulders locks you in. He just chuckles at your feeble attempts and continues watching the movie. You continue to stare for just a few lingering moments and turn back to the movie as well, the warmth from him that cloaked you begged you to sleep right there. You didn't need to watch the movie anyway, just being there was what you had craved.
AN: thank you so much for reading!! i genuinely think this is the longest thing ive ever written. its amazing how i can write 2.9k words for tumblr but i cant make the word count for class work 💀. have a wonder ful day!! <3

Request for Lester sinclair
I had this idea of Lester waking up to go to his daily rounds of picking up roadkill, but the reader is practically clinging onto him, so he ends up just taking them with him!! Imagine laying across the passenger seat of Lester’s truck with your head on his lap, while he smiles and tells you stories while picking up his roadkill lol
No pressure I love your writing <333
Tumblr media
Ok I love this idea and it honestly reminds me of this other one shot I read awhile ago, I'll link it if I can find it but this seems like a really cute idea. I haven't written much for Lester lately so I'm happy to do this for you.
Why not join me?
Warnings: Mentions of road kill but that's about it
It's six in the morning when Lester's alarm first goes off. He's quick to shut it off and try to sit up when he feels the weight of you clinging onto his arm. He smiles to himself as he tries to pull you off but you just grip on tighter. He shakes his head a little and lays back down, still trying to get you to let go. He sees you open your eyes slightly and smile at him. Knowing that you're awake now he doesn't feel as bad trying to talk to you.
"Honey I've gotta get up now. I've got a lot of work to do." He says gently as he tries to pull off your arms but to no avail.
"Just a few more minutes ok? The sun isn't even fully up yet." You reply. He laughs a little to himself. He knows how Bo gets about him not getting work done. He loves his brother but he really is a hardass sometimes.
"Well I know that but it's better to get started earlier ok? Now you've got to let go of my arm sweetpea," You shake your head and hold on tighter if that's even possible. He sighs and smiles to himself, "How about you come along with me today. I don't mind ya joining me." You think about it for a few seconds before letting go of his arm and rubbing your eyes.
"I can do that." You smile and Lester smiles back.
"Be ready to go in 20 minutes alright?" You nod and he gets out of bed. Lester gets ready and when he passes by his room again he sees you getting dressed too. Walking to the kitchen he makes a quick breakfast and pours himself some coffee. You soon join him. Eating quickly then making your way out to the truck. You get inside while Lester gets a few things ready. When he gets in the truck he can see you falling back asleep. He smiles to himself as he starts up the car and gets to driving. A few minutes into the car ride you lay down with the back of your head on his lap. You look up at him and he looks down at you for a moment with a smile. Although when he looks back up at the road he’s still smiling.
“If you wanted to sleep some more, you could have just stayed at home honey. I don’t want you to be uncomfortable here, you know.” You yawn and nod, closing your eyes.
“I know that. But I wanted to be with you today.”
“I don’t know why someone as nice as you wants to spend their day around roadkill,” He moves a hand down and strokes your hair, “Or other people if we pick anyone up today for that matter.” You know what Lester means by that. When you two pick up people they’re never usually the nicest to you.
“Well then let’s just hope we don’t pick up anyone this morning. I don’t get why you have to get up so early anyway. If Bo wants the roads to be clean so badly he should pick up the road kill himself.” Lester chuckles to himself and puts his hand back on the steering wheel.
“It’s better to catch the animals earlier before the sun bakes them up and makes them smell like hell. It’s also important to catch as many people as we can. You know how Bo is about getting things done.”
“Well I think he just needs to calm the fuck down every once and awhile. He doesn’t have to work every single day.” You two break out into a small, quiet laughter.
“Bo is Bo and he’s not going to change anytime soon. It’s better to just try and get along with him anyway. I do owe him a lot. So doing this is the least that I could do.” You nod and open your eyes again.
“I love you Lester.” He looks back down at you.
“I love you too Y/n.”

Summer Love
Chapter 2: I Ain't Worried
Previous <-
I'll never forget the first time I saw Jake shirtless. Seriously.
July 7, 2014
The end of the first week of July attacked California with a huge heat wave. It was practically impossible to survive on the streets, and the only place of solace was the calm ocean water cooling down the heated body. Of course it was temporary, but always something.
Jane and I were there practically every day, but today my cousin was not at home. She went to her boyfriend's for the night, leaving me alone and withered by the cosmic temperature.
I was damned bored. Therefore, I didn't waste a minute more but headed to my aunt's neighbor's house. Namely, Jake's mom.
I bit my lip and started knocking on the door. In my spirit I prayed that his mom would not be home. Actually it didn't matter; I went out with my him every few days. Most of these meetings consisted of evening rides in his car, which he got for his 18th birthday, and our arguments or teasing.
I felt good in his company. Despite the apparent difference in our characters, we got along ... quite well. Jake was a great guy and I envied people who had him on a daily basis.
After a few minutes, the door swung open and in the threshold I saw a sleepy Jake with disheveled hair wearing a white oversize T-shirt and red and black plaid pants.
And just maybe my heart started beating a little faster at that sight.
– Christ, MC, are you haunting me even in the morning already? – he said, and his voice was hoarse. Despite his words, he opened the door wider, letting me in.
– Nice to see you too, Jake. – I replied, entering the cooler room, which immediately gave me relief – Besides, it's already after 1 pm, ignorant.
The boy closed the door and yawned completely ignoring my comments about his biological clock.
– May I know what urgent matter sent you here at such an inhuman hour?
– Do you want to go to the lake? - I asked directly, making puppy dog eyes to convince him. The boy, however, seemed unconcerned.
– With the fishes? No, thank you.
– Wait, you're scared of fish? – I asked trying not to laugh. Jake seemed too serious to be afraid of such things.
– They're just so..slimy – he confessed while shrugging in disgust which made me giggle. I guess he wasn't fully awake.
– Slimy?
– Slimy. – he replied, pulling out an energy drink from the refrigerator
– Do you even still have internal organs? – I walked over and tapped on his chest, where his heart should be. I looked at him with feigned seriousness to give him the tragic information. – It's not beating. These shits have gnawed them all out of you.
The Jake's hand tapped my forehead forcing me to move away. My face lit up again with a smile. Damn, how could it be that smiling was easier with him?
– Do you know we're going to go on that beach anyway? – I asked with confidence in my voice. Seeing his resolute expression I rolled my eyes – Oh, come on, grumpy face, it will be fun!
– Absolutely not.
* * *
– Why do you always manage to persuade me? – he groaned, combing his hair with his hand while I spread a blanket on the sand – This is why I hate summer.
– Personal charm, my dear. – I almost sang out, sitting down on the material, and Jake joined in a moment later. The sun was shining straight into my face, which already seemed sweaty enough. – Ugh, I'm so hot!
– Loving your confidence. – he muttered accusingly causing me to punch him in the arm
– Oh shut up. – I grabbed the bottom of my T-shirt to pull it over my head. Then Jake coughed violently and I looked at his embarrassed face. – What? After all, I'm not going to sit here like a nun or there will be popcorn left of me.
I took off my T-shirt leaving me in a red swimsuit top. I looked out of the corner of my eye at Jake's flushed cheeks. It must be the temperature.
I heard a loud whistling in front of me, which made me raise my eyes. A boy in his 20s or so looked at me suggestively, but immediately walked away as soon as he saw that Jake, who was accompanying me, was taking off his shirt and sending him an unpleasant look. I turned to face Jake and was nearly clobbered.
Teenage hormones were bubbling as I moved my gaze over his slightly defined arm muscles as well as his abdomen. The pendant that hung loosely from his neck perfectly matched the sculpture of his body and....
Damn it, MC stop checking him out!
I forced my gaze back to his eyes and knew that my earlier act had not taken place without his knowledge. A slight, yet cocky and confident smile stretched his lips. I bestowed a hostile look on him, raising an eyebrow.
– Why did you do this?
– I don't know what you are talking about. – he said looking away and laying down, laying his head on his backpack. Through my meaningful silence, he sighed and forced himself to answer – It looked like he was trying to flirt with you.
I smiled victoriously.
– So you're jealous?
– No.
His answer was immediate which only put me in a better mood.
– But you like me.
– I tolerate you more than most people. – Jake's typical response
Some time later we went to a nearby beach bar to buy something to drink. My attention was caught by a box filled with ice, in which two bottles of wine were placed. I looked pleadingly in Jake's direction to which he firmly shook his head.
– No, box wine does not count as keeping yourself hydrated. – he recited as if he were reading a pamphlet from a doctor. I stuck out my middle finger in his direction.
– What can I get you, Jake? – asked the bartender, who turned out to be a friend of Jake's
– Two Sex on the beach. – he replied, and the bartender smiled provocatively and winked in our direction, then started making drinks
– Oh really? – I teased him
– I will throw the drink on you. – he replied smiling artfully
Not being 21 was not a problem in this bar. Familiarity was enough.
I couldn't hold back my laughter as I looked over at Jake, who was seated under one of the umbrellas, putting on his sunglasses and slowly sipping his drink while giving a shit about the whole world around him. When he heard my laughter, he pulled off his glasses and, with one eye squinted through the sun, asked.
– What is it this time?
– The energy you have is tired dad energy.
– I don't have kids? And I don't want to? – he furrowed his eyebrows in incomprehension and his obliviousness amused me even more
– Still, you're gonna be a DILF. – I finished shamelessly, and a short laugh filled his lips
Christ, and that sound was so lovely.
With him I let go of all my brakes. I knew him for two weeks, yet they seemed like two years.
– You're too quiet, and you never want to talk about yourself, why? – I asked curiously, watching him refill his drink
– You talk plenty enough for both of us. – he replied simply to which I tilted my head to the side in disbelief
– I just... Hey! – I shouted as he took my drink and began to drink it to the end, rudely looking into my eyes
Drinking from the same straw is almost like kissing, isn't it?
– Give it back! – I tried to grab the glass, however, the boy used his advantage and pulled his hand up every time I tried to take back my property – You are unbelievable!
And so arguing we were watched by some tourists however then no one else counted but him. And I saw the same in his eyes. The whole world around us disappeared, there was only us and we didn't worry about anything.

“Thank you, Buck, but I can get by on my own.”
“The thing is, you don’t have to.”
When Steve had told him that just a few hours beforehand, he’d meant it. He had every intention of getting by on his own. He’d been taking care of himself for a while, in a lot of ways. He’d also been helping take care of his mom, too. He figured that just caring for one person, just for himself, was surely going to be easier than taking care of two people.
It was just him. That was what he had been repeating to himself over and over again as he tried to go through the motions in the tiny apartment. It was just him. It should’ve made the space feel larger, knowing that he was now the only one who was in it, but it didn’t. If anything, it felt suffocatingly small. It was like his mother had been the last thing that was keeping the walls from caving in.
As he laid on the small mattress in his room, blanket pulled up to his chin, all he could think about was how quiet the apartment was now. There were the occasional noises from outside seeping in through the windows, but it was all so quiet, and so empty. Despite the exhaustion and heaviness in his bones, Steve found himself wide awake staring at the ceiling as the minutes continued to tick by.
After more tossing and turning than he could take, he threw the blanket off of himself and grabbed a clean set of clothes from his dresser. As he made his way back towards the door of the apartment, grabbing his keys and what few essentials he had to his name, he found himself trying not to look around very much. He didn’t want to be confronted with all of the things that were just his now, now that he didn’t have anyone left to share them with.
The streetlamps outside gave him just enough light to be able to lock the door behind him as he stood on the flimsy metal landing. Letting out a breath that he hadn’t felt himself holding, he turned around and started to walk towards the stairs that would land him back on the street.
It was silent as he stood outside the door to Bucky’s place. He knew that even if Bucky was still up, the rest of his family was most likely asleep. He didn’t want to wake them, didn’t want to seem rude turning up at their front door in the middle of a night like a stray cat who was just in search of a warm bed and a good meal. But he’d already made it all the way there.
Shifting uncomfortably from one foot to the other, Steve finally raised his hand and knocked lightly on the door. For a few seconds, he didn’t hear any sort of noise from the other side. If no one came, he was just going to turn around and go back home, not wanting to knock even louder and run the risk of causing some kind of scene.
He’d just given up on waiting, turning on his heel to start heading back the way he’d come, when he heard the click of a lock. He froze, hesitating for a moment before turning around just as someone was pulling the door open from the other side.
Bucky stood in the doorway, clearly still not fully awake as he leaned against the edge of the door. His hair was a mess, only one eye open as he squinted against the streetlamp that felt blinding to him at this point. His pajamas were oversized and wrinkled from however he’d been laying before Steve had shown up and stirred him from sleep.
“Steve?” he said it like a question even though the boy in question was clearly standing right in front of him.
For a split second, Steve almost wished that Bucky hadn’t answered the door. “Hey, Buck.”
Bucky blinked hard a few times, both eyes finally opening all the way as his brain caught up with the situation at hand. “You alright? What’s going on? Somethin’,” he pressed the heel of one palm against his eye, rubbing the sleep form it, “did something happen?”
It was the first time that Steve could ever remember feeling small in front of Bucky. The rest of the world never seemed to stop reminding him of it, and Bucky wasn’t even trying to, but something about the whole situation made Steve feel like he was shrinking, and it was size that he couldn’t afford to lose.
Finally, he cleared his throat. “Did you mean it earlier?” he asked tentatively. “About me being able to stay here for a while?”
The confusion and exhaustion that had previously been on Bucky’s face immediately softened into something much more tender once he heard the question that Steve was asking. A smile passed over his face for a moment as he nodded, pulling the door open the rest of the way.
“Of course I meant it.”
He watched as Steve took a couple steps back towards the door. As soon as he was close enough, Bucky reached out and rested his hand on Steve’s shoulder, giving it a squeeze before bringing him in for a hug, pulling him inside in the process. He felt the tension in Steve’s body as he enveloped it with his own, but it didn’t stop him or make him pull away. After a few seconds, Steve gave in, wrapping his arms around Bucky’s torso and pulling himself tight to him. His head rested so easily against Bucky’s chest, his warmth bleeding through the thin fabric of his pajamas and into Steve’s cheek.
When Bucky felt Steve’s arms start to loosen, he let him go. For Steve’s sake more than his own, Bucky didn’t comment on the tears that he saw gathering at the edges of Steve’s eyes. He busied himself with locking the door, giving Steve a moment to wipe them away without Bucky watching him the entire time.
It took a moment for Steve to realize just how dark the room was that they were standing in. He’d long since had the layout of all the rooms memorized, treating Bucky’s family’s place like a second home over the years, but it had been a long time since he’d been over so late. Growing up had left both of them with less time to spend together like that. All of the responsibilities that life had thrust upon each of them had kept them busy, put a bit of a wedge there that there hadn’t been before. But now things were changing again, and Steve wondered if the rift was going to get wider, or if things would start to get back to how they had been before. He didn’t even know if that was possible.
“You’re lucky I’m a light sleeper,” Bucky joked quietly, “otherwise you would’ve been stuck sleeping on the curb.”
It got Steve to smile. “I would’ve just gone back home.”
Bucky started walking towards his bedroom. “Or you could’ve just knocked louder.”
Steve shrugged, stuffing his hands in his pockets as he followed in Bucky’s footsteps. “I didn’t wanna wake everyone up.”
“No one would mind,” Bucky replied easily.
He noticed when he didn’t hear Steve’s light footsteps right behind his anymore. He stopped, turning around to look for him. A small smile tugged at his lips as he watched Steve wrangling the cushions on the couch, trying to gather up as many as he could carry to bring to Bucky’s room.
“Steve,” Bucky said, shaking his head, “what’re you doing?”
Even in the darkness, it was impossible to miss the confusion on Steve’s face. “You said…”
“I know.” He chuckled as he stepped back closer to Steve again. Taking the cushions from him with ease, he replaced them on the couch. “Come on, don’t worry about it.”
Steve didn’t look any less confused, but he followed Bucky’s lead nonetheless. The two of them quietly finished making their way to Bucky’s room, the occasional creaks of the floorboards beneath them sounding louder than they really were. Something about the entire situation had Steve feeling like a guest in a different way than usual. No matter how many times Bucky and his family reassured Steve that he was always welcome and could make himself perfectly at home whenever he was there, Steve always made sure to conduct himself with a little extra care. It was a respect thing as much as it was a nerves thing. But this felt different than that. He couldn’t quite put his finger on how.
Bucky pushed the bedroom door shut behind the two of them before turning the lamp on beside his bed. It was the first time all night that the two of them had been able to look at each other in any sort of normal lighting.
Steve looked at Bucky, standing there in his light blue, oversized pajama set. The top button of his shirt was undone, causing it to shirt and sit just a little uncentered on his shoulders—he didn’t seem to care about it. He looked a little more awake now, even though he still looked tired.
Meanwhile, Bucky was watching Steve as he stood, looking so unsure of himself in the center of the room. Sure, it had been a while since Steve had been over, and yea, it had been an emotional whirlwind of a day, but the uncertainty on his best friend’s face still threw Bucky for a loop. That wasn’t how it was supposed to work—even when everything else seemed uncertain, the two of them were supposed to be solid. If Steve couldn’t be comfortable standing there in front of Bucky, what were they doing?
In a small attempt to lighten the mood, Bucky put on a small grin and said, “You can stay with me, but you can’t wear your shoes on my bed.”
The comment seemed to pull Steve away from whatever thoughts he’d been fixating on. His eyes shifted from looking around the room, to looking down at his feet, and then looking up at Bucky with a small, almost genuine smile.
“Right,” Steve said as he knelt to start undoing the laces on his shoes, “sorry.”
Bucky’s lips dipped down into a frown at the sound of Steve’s apology. That hadn’t been the intention behind the comment, but maybe he should’ve seen it coming. He watched as Steve took his shoes off and carefully set them at the foot of Bucky’s bed, tucked as far out of the way as he could manage to get them. When he stood back upright, he looked back at Bucky, the expression on his face letting Bucky know that he was looking for some sort of direction.
“You want something else to sleep in?” Bucky asked.
It was like a reflex, the way that Steve self-consciously patted at the shirt and pants that he was wearing. In his rush to leave his empty apartment, Steve hadn’t realized that the clothes he’d put on weren’t exactly the best for sleeping—in the moment he just knew that he didn’t want to be walking the streets to Bucky’s in his pajamas.
Finally, he nodded. It didn’t matter that they weren’t going to fit. That had always been the case and it had never stopped them before. “Okay.”
A relieved smile crossed Bucky’s face for a moment as he nodded. Turning around, he went to his dresser and looked through a few of the drawers in search of something that Steve would be able to sleep and be comfortable in. He finally settled on an old long-sleeve shirt and a spare pair of pants that he’d grown out of a while ago but kept anyway, subconsciously for situations just like this.
Steve silently nodded his thanks as he took the clothes from Bucky. Affording him the illusion of privacy, Bucky turned around and started getting some things rearranged and situated on the bed. It wasn’t long before Steve popped up next to him, silently looking at him in a way of asking what he could do to help. Bucky just shook his head before pulling the blanket back so that the two of them could get into bed together.
Bucky sat on the edge of the mattress for a brief moment before bringing his legs up onto it and sliding over to the opposite side so that Steve could easily plop down on the mattress with him. He pulled the blanket up over his legs on his side, managing to leave Steve’s side of the mattress undisturbed.
After a few seconds of hesitation, Steve finally climbed into bed beside him. Bucky watched as he pulled the blanket up over himself as well. Even with the covers over him, Bucky could still see the way that Steve was swimming in the shirt that he had lent him. It was rare that Steve ever seemed to be wearing clothes that actually fit him properly, but there was something different about it when the clothes that didn’t sit quite right on him were Bucky’s.
Neither of them said anything for a few seconds, instead just laying beside each other on the bed. Bucky felt like Steve had something to say, but he knew that he wasn’t ready to say it just yet. Reaching over, Bucky shut off the lamp beside his bed, throwing the room back into almost complete darkness.
Rolling so that he was on his side, Bucky laid so that he was looking at Steve even though Steve was laying on his back and looking up at the ceiling. With the light that was coming through the thin curtains on his bedroom window, Bucky could see that Steve wasn’t even close to falling asleep.
“Hey,” he finally broke the silence.
Steve still didn’t turn to look at him. “Yea?”
“What happened?”
Still staring at the ceiling, Steve shrugged, trying to play down the events of the day. “What do you mean?”
“You don’t need a reason to be here, but I think that this time you have one.”
There was a long stretch of silence, and Steve could feel tears stinging at the edges of his eyes. “I didn’t want to be at home,” he finally answered, his voice strained when it hadn’t been before. “I just didn’t want to be there alone.”
Bucky certainly couldn’t blame him for that. “Okay.” There was a long pause, and even though Bucky had a pretty good idea as to how it was going to go, he still said, “If you wanna talk about it, you can.”
Steve knew that. No matter what was going on, he and Bucky had always been a safe place to land for each other. No judgment between them for as long as either of them could remember. So, he knew that, but to hear Bucky give the invitation out loud hit differently. He scrunched his face in an attempt to stop the tears from spilling over, but it didn’t matter, and soon they started to trickle down the sides of his face and onto the pillow beneath his head.
Bucky didn’t say anything to interrupt the silence that followed. He was in no rush. And, even if Steve decided not to talk at all, he would’ve been perfectly content to lay there awake with him until Steve finally succumbed to the exhaustion of it all and fell asleep. As Bucky laid there, listening to the almost inaudible patter of Steve’s tears hitting the pillowcase, all he could think of was how easy it would be to reach out and hold him.
“I’m scared,” Steve finally said, his voice still unsteady.
Bucky’s eyes widened just slightly at the admission. He noticed the way that Steve didn’t pry his eyes away from the bedroom ceiling. Two small words carried so much weight, more than anyone else outside the walls of that room would ever realize.
If anyone knew how little fear Steve Rogers really had in him, it was Bucky. The one person in Bucky’s life who had every right to be shaking in their boots all twenty-four hours out of the day, never allowing himself to. Steve, for all of his stubbornness and inability to say when it was too much, never let fear sink its teeth into him. Fear was never farther away from Steve than when Bucky was around. And yet, as the two of them shared the mattress with hardly a couple inches between them, Bucky could see it starting to settle over Steve. He’d never been good at having the right words to say, never known how to soothe in times like this. He and Steve usually got through things with a few quips and a hug and moved on to the next thing. This was new territory for both of them, only Bucky knew that his short-comings weren’t just affecting himself.
“You’re the only person I’ve got left to lose,” Steve told him.
Bucky frowned, shaking his head even though Steve still had yet to turn and face him head-on. “I’m not going anywhere.”
Steve shook his head. “No one ever thinks that they’re going to, Buck. That’s,” he finally allowed himself to look Bucky in the eye, “that’s the scary part.”
Reaching, Bucky rested his hand on Steve’s shoulder. He let his fingertips set in just enough to act as an anchor, bunching up the fabric of his own shirt that was hanging off Steve’s shoulders. “I’ve never lied to you, right?”
Steve knew what he was doing, but he could still feel fresh tears in his eyes. “Bucky…”
“Right?”
Finally, he conceded with a nod. “Right.”
“So,” he squeezed his shoulder again, “I’m here.” He finally pulled Steve into him, the embrace carrying such a different weight when he was holding him in the dead of night in the middle of his mattress. He hooked his chin over his head as Steve allowed himself to fold against Bucky’s chest. “And that’s not gonna change.”
After a few moments of trembling against Bucky, Steve managed to get one word out, one small plea mumbled against his chest, “Promise?”
Bucky squeezed him tighter, shutting his eyes to ward off his own tears. “Yea, promise.”

All right buckle in you poor bastards because I'm here to help you with a thing because nobody told me jack Shite about getting your teeth pulled and what to expect. I'm also gonna sprinkle in some tips for pain management for you <3
(Okay. First off, I'm pretty much going off of my own experience here but if you have any input or advice please do share!! We are here to help each other.)
Let's talk anesthesia. I had a very good time with it (stoner) and sometimes secretly wished they would have kept me doped up a bit longer. If you're getting anesthesia then you'll probably have to get through the injection part first. This was pretty painful for me with the addition that I'm scared of needles.
Here's what to expect:
It will take longer than you think is necessary unless you've been blessed with someone who's really good at it
It will hurt. There is no way around this. However it is definitely more comparable to things that don't really hurt all that bad.
You might feel like doing some "self medicating" (drinking/drug use etc) to help calm your nerves before the surgery, don't do this. Anesthesia puts you in a bit of a trance but not always a sleep-like one. I was completely awake for the entire thing but I don't remember it. Any alcohol consumption or drug use might actually have the opposite effect and cause you to freak a little or make it seem more scary. My recommendation is to stop at least 2-3 days before the surgery.
Same thing goes for people with traumatic experiences, ptsd, anxiety and anything related. Ease yourself into the situation and remind yourself (even better if you have others to help with this) that you are safe. It will 100% help and I promise it's true and you'll be ok.
When you wake up you'll be really loopy and might say or do something stupid, but you'll also be really tired and hungry and thirsty and won't be in a silly goofy mood.
When the anesthesia fully wears off it can hurt like you're dying. You can bypass this by taking your pain meds when you're given the OK to drink things (usually 1 hour post surgery). Don't be like me and fall asleep and wake up 4. Hours. After the surgery with no medicine in the house and no pain relief. Ouch
Now let's talk swelling. My cheeks were swollen for a good 3-4 days after the surgery. Here's what you should know:
It will last anywhere from 3-5 days depending on the number of teeth you had pulled and how you take care of yourself.
It is nothing to be embarrassed about. You look like a cute chipmunk.
To help with swelling use an ice pack or something similar gently on your face. A good rule of thumb is 20 minutes on, 20 minutes off. (Only do this for the first 2-3 days, then slowly introduce heat instead)
Try to avoid putting any pressure on the sides of your face as this could lead to irritation and further pain
You may struggle to open your mouth at first, this is normal and will go away within a few days.
As your cheeks get less swollen you may notice a bruise has taken it's place. That is also completely normal and will disappear, and is nothing to be embarrassed about.
I think just those two things there pretty much summarize the first 2 or 3 days post removal. Expect a lot of sitting and napping.
Now moving on to more annoying and painful topics. Let's talk about eating/drinking. Here's what to expect/ do's and dont's:
When it comes to drinking, stick to water and Gatorade (or something similar). You're going to be very dehydrated at first, so it's important to make sure you're getting your fluids.
Avoid drinking anything with too extreme of a temperature (hot/iced coffee, hot tea, etc. For the first few days. I highly recommend certain teas once you hit that 4 day mark after your surgery.)
Avoid acidic drinks, carbonated drinks, and alcohol.
There are some fruits you won't be able to eat because they're too acidic for your mouth.
No. Solid. Food. Please. Its what gave me dry socket and it's extremely painful and sensitive and I don't want that for you.
Opt for very soft foods or switch to a liquid diet. Things like mashed potatoes, apple sauce, pudding, etc are lifesavers.
Avoid spicy or heavily seasoned foods. I know it's gross and tastes like a bunch of nothing but it will irritate the wound. (However, I've found that a tiny bit of garlic can actually provide soothing benefits to your extractions and offer some pain relief.)
You will want solid food so bad. So. Bad. We must stay focused brothers.
I struggle a lot with this one because many foods that I can't have are a large part of my diet. That being said, it will get easier and easier to make the right choice when it comes to it.
Next is probably the most painful thing I've ever been through. I know I joke a lot but this literally isn't funny. I was like. In tears for 2 days because of this. Let's talk dry socket. Here's what may or may not happen:
Dry socket is a mother sexy time haver and can bestow itself upon you even if you do everything right. It literally just depends on the person and there's a few thing you can do to prevent it but don't be surprised if you get it.
Let's assume you did get it. At first you might deny having it for the sake of not thinking about having it. I did it too and I can recommend not doing this.
Drinking tea is a godsend. I highly recommend chamomile, dandelion root, or any anti inflammatory tea. Make sure it's hot tea too so you can hold the steam up to your face. I did this for a bit and couldn't feel anything for like. A good 10 minutes.
I've heard mixed results on this one (imo it just makes me want to clench my teeth which is a problem all on its own) but you can use the tea bags as gauze if your dealing with persistent pain. Just make sure there isn't any parts of the bag or ingredients in the bag that are rough or scratchy.
When it gets too painful to bear (for me this was right when I laid down at night and right when I woke up in the morning) get yourself some numbing gel. Don't be fooled by fancy packaging or anything, I've found that the cheap version does the same job. It will hurt extremely bad for a good 10 seconds, but then it will be nothing/a tingly sensation for the next 1-3 hours. (I don't recommend making this a habit if possible, you can overdose on the medication put in numbing gels if you're not careful.)
The pain might drain your mentality a bit and make it easy to panic about the pain. You might get overstimulated by it at some points. The best trick (for me) is to remain as calm as you can.
Crying will make it hurt worse but no judgement if a few tears slip.
If you can, contact your dentist if you think you have dry socket. I had to wait all weekend and a day in change to see him, and he fixed the issue in a few painless minutes. I'm currently laying here typing this and not feeling a thing. It's worth it.
Take. Your. Antibiotics. It will help prevent dry socket and other infections.
I think that's pretty much it that has its own Category, heres some misc stuff and other pain management tips:
The reason it'll probably hurt more right when you lay down to sleep is because of the blood rush your head gets as the body levels. If you can, keep your head elevated. It will make sleeping a far simpler battle.
Dry socket can cause insomnia, so be careful about your health. Insomnia leads to a plethora of other issues if ignored.
People using birth control and people who have had a tooth extraction before are more prone to dry socket.
Avoid using earbuds if you can, it can irritate the wound and cause headaches from hell.
Your dentist might decide to use a stitching technique that involves wrapping a bit of thread around your teeth. Don't be alarmed, it's supposed to be there. It might bother you for a few days but it comes out eventually on its own or removed by the dentist.
If you get frequent headaches from this like I did, try to stay in dark or shaded areas and make sure to get some quiet.
Stay away from tooth brushing for the first 2-3 days. Your mouth will be hurting and you don't want to irritate it. Instead, try a warm water rinse. It soothes pain and drains out anything stuck in your mouth.
Start brushing your teeth without toothpaste. Get used to the amount of gentleness you need and go slow. When you're ready, use a gentle toothpaste with no strong flavors.
Salt water rinses also help some, but they can also cause headaches.
Don't spit!!!! Spitting can disrupt the blood clot and the healing process. Instead, gently tilt your head side to side, lean over the sink, and open your mouth.
Other facial expressions to avoid for a bit include kissing faces, sucking on a straw, slurping, grinning too hard, and clenching your teeth.
I think that's everything!! Thanks for the read and good luck if you're getting a tooth pulled soon.

Excerpt: For Those We Love
Chapter 20, Fight or Flight
The sunrise over Duellist Kingdom was beautiful. The morning rays made the ocean shimmer brightly like thousands of sapphires and made the morning dew look like glitter spread across the land, not that it mattered because the only person awake to see it was in no mood to appreciate it.
Yugi had not slept. Her mind had been in too much turmoil to let her drift off, and even Oneesan's normal trick had not helped. Nightmares had just woken her again minutes later. Eventually she had given up on trying and gone for a walk, ending up sat on the battlements as the dawn broke.
It was all her fault.
If she had just gone with Bakura then rather than her friends, things would be different. She should have kept quiet and just snuck out after everyone was asleep. Or she should have followed her instincts when her heart had started aching and left.
If she had not stopped to talk to Kaiba, if she had just trusted her new magical instincts, she might have gotten to Anzu. She might have been able to save her from Pegasus.
She had felt like something was wrong but she had tried to ignore it. Kaiba had come to her after all; it had been a major thing. He was trusting her enough to come to her for help. She had thought that if she had just paused to talk to Kaiba quickly it would be okay. Her friends had been with Ba-Khu-Ra, and, between her magic, Honda's fighting skills, and Anzu's right hook, she had thought that they would be fine, at least until she could get to them.
She had been wrong, so very, very wrong. She should have asked Kaiba to come back. She should have had him follow her. Or something. Anything...
Now one of her best friends lay soulless. Because of her.
She did not deserve to have her friends. Ever since she had gotten close to them, she had done nothing but get them into trouble. Even now, with everything going on, they had refused to leave her. Instead Jou and Honda had curled up on her floor while Amane had shared her bed, and she did not understand why. It would have been safer for them to pull away from her. To just give up on her and protect themselves.
Except they would not do that to her. They never would. They were her friends.
No. They were more like family.
They would not abandon her because of the latest jerk who came along to take what did not belong to them.
'And I'm always with you.' The voice of the spirit of the Puzzle, her Anesan, bounced around her mind. Concern and sisterly love flooded the bond as the Pharaoh tried to soothe her sister. 'I'm not going to leave you.'
'I...I know, but...' Yugi hesitated, fully aware that her other soul was seriously worried about her. 'I've led you all into danger. I know you're stuck with me because I'm the one who solved the Puzzle, but the others are only here because of me. I don't deserve them, Anesan, and I don't deserve you. You deserve a better vessel. I'm faulty.'
Stunned silence greeted that remark as the girl pulled her knees up and rested her head on them. Oneesan had known her precious sister was at breaking point, but she could sense that the girl truly believed what she was saying. At those words, the spirit of the Puzzle emerged as a ghost to sit next to her light, leaning against the one person she could interact with in the living world without having to possess someone, understanding that right now the girl needed that support.
When the girl's head tilted slightly, allowing Oneesan to see purple eyes watching her despite the blonde bangs hanging in front of them, the Pharaoh spoke, trying not to let the fact that her little sister was seeing her in spirit form for the first time distract her. 'Imoto-chan, you are not just my vessel. You are my light, my other soul, my partner. You're so much more than you give yourself credit for. You are NOT faulty, you're exactly what you're meant to be. The light that casts Shadows and protects the dark. Protects me... You saw it for yourself yesterday, Imoto-chan. Without you, I'm a mess.'
'But...' Yugi hesitated at the honesty on her Anesan's face and the sisterly love pulsing over the bond.
'For three thousand years I was trapped in the Shadows. It was cold, it was dark, and it hurt. More than anything I've experienced since. I didn't think I would ever get out. Then I started to see glimpses of light. Light that started to appear more and more often. And each time the light appeared the Shadows would back off and I would get a few moments free from pain and fear.'
'Was that... me?' Yugi asked quietly, stunned.
'Yes. It was you. And every time you tried to complete the Puzzle I got to connect with the mind and soul of this bright sunspot who was my deliverance. I got to see you grow and, while there are a few of your childhood bullies I would like very much to set on fire,' She paused at the quiet sigh that caused, suddenly aware she had never talked to Imoto-chan about this, 'I started to look forward to the visits from the Light.'
'I'm sorry I took so long to free you.' The girl winced.
'I've seen your memories of how complicated the Puzzle is. I'm just amazed you never gave up.' Oneesan shook her head. 'Many children would have. You're not like them. You kept coming back and coming back and coming back. And when the time finally came and I woke up in the maze, I made a promise. I would never, ever hurt you. Because if I did, I would be no better than the Shadows that hurt me. I've failed to keep that promise...'
"What?" Yugi straightened, speaking out loud in her shock at her Anesan's words. Her eyes were wider than normal as her head came up to watch her. "You've not..."
'I have, Imoto-chan. I'm the one who lost the match with Pegasus. If I had not allowed my pride to drive me and just taken the win we had gotten, he would not have taken Ojiisan's soul and forced you to come here. It's my fault you and your friends are here,' the spirit pointed out. 'The only good thing that's come out of it is that we might be able to save Shizuka's eyesight.'
"Anesan..." Yugi could not deny the truth. Oneesan had screwed up that match. However, "No one blames you. You were just trying to make it a firm win. I'm not mad at you for that. Yes, I'm hurting right now, but it's not your fault. Pegasus is the one who's attacking others to get to us. Plus there's more good things than that. We got to make friends with Mai, Bakura's actually telling us things, AND we were able to be here for the Kaibas. I just..."
'I know. Believe me, I do. Ojiisan and our friends are our greatest treasure. Losing any of them hurts like we're the ones struck.' Oneesan tried to control her anger at the Lord of the Castle in order to reassure her sibling when the girl trailed off. 'Pegasus seems to have found the greatest weapon to use against you without ever stepping into your head, but believe me, no one blames you for his actions any more than you blame me. Don't let him get to you. Because if he does, he wins.'

the state this relationship is
the state that you've acknowledged it is in
the contributions you've taken full responsibility and accountability for
the effect you've recognised verbally
////
the standalone situation:
we tell each other about our days, lying in bed together after work. we both have a headache and are both tired. you know im suffering more than usual today because i told you. i know you have a headache.
i say i want to take a nap, but i also recognise that neither of us have eaten and if i take a nap now it's just going to be a sleep.
you say let's take a 30 min nap, if we're both napping then ill be accountable for getting back up too
i say i won't nap, bc i won't want to get up again
you say ok well i will set a timer and nap and get up after
timer goes off
you don't wake up
timer rings for over 10 seconds
you get up, pick up your phone and turn it off.
you go back to sleep.
i don't say anything bc maybe you've set a second timer
20 minutes later i check your phone
there's no timer
I set 1 for 1 minute
it goes off, you're awake
it takes you 10 minutes to even fully open your eyes
i start getting impatient
i say "if you wanted to sleep you could have just said so instead of telling me the opposite"
you don't respond, you are fighting to be awake
after another 10 minutes of underminimal response i get annoyed
"im no longer sleepy bc i thought you were getting up so i stayed up so we could eat together
now i get to be upset and im not allowed to be because you have a headache"
you say "i told you i had a headache, i would've thought you would be more understanding"
i say "this is exactly what i mean"
you start getting annoyed at me. you say "we're going to have to reschedule this conversation because i don't want to say anything mean"
i start getting more upset
you start getting more defensive
i say "my feelings are only valid the next day"
you say "i can't help you with that"
context:
you often don't communicate what you actually want and instead promise something you can't deliver
this always leads to disappointment and every time it happens it feels like I'm feeling the weight of every single other time it's happened because of how long it's gone unaddressed
how i feel about you and sleep is that you sleeping is used against me so you sleeping through alarms and conveniently foregoing any prior commitments is a common pain point for me
you getting mad at me because im upset by something you did is also a common pain point and im always left to wait until it's been at least several hours for you to be open to acting like im not the villain. this has left me with ptsd about expressing emotions bc it won't get addressed and ill have to deal with being the bad guy for the next however long it takes for you to stop being a cold wall
how ive told you this can be fixed:
acknowledging the situation and verbalising that you're not doing this because you don't love me
reminding me that just bc youre mad does not mean that you don't love me
still treat me with love and respect
how you're being rn is not a reflection of how you feel about me
remembering that i have no qualms about putting chats on hold and coming back to things and the only thing stopping me from feeling like i can settle down is your aggression
remembering that your emotions are still valid and real without taking it out on me or exhibiting it in a hurtful way
when i first got upset and said "if you just wanted to sleep you should have just said"
responding by acknowledging, apologising/validating, and then reminding me that you love me, you have a headache, and you do want to sleep
is all that needed to happen to stop the situation from escalating
bc the bid had been answered

My house is haunted, just found out by possibly the most disturbing way I could.
Okay, I know what you're thinking, it's a very click-baity title but just here me out.
My older sister, we'll call her Q, has always been a bit more comfortable exploring spirituality and stuff. I was never interested in it, just wasn't my thing you know. But when we moved into the house we currently live in she caught onto the vibes real quick.
She had told me stories of not only her sleep paralysis experiences but also the spirits she felt/visited her often. Some of you won't believe this and that's fine, I did though. I mostly trusted this information because I'm really close with Q and she wouldn't lie to me about something like that. Or if it was a prank she would tell me eventually.
It was really harming her mental health and sleep schedule so she figured out a way to cope and stop thinking about it. I remember she told me, "Welcoming good spirits brings in all kinds of other spirits."
Q's been doing good for a while now and it hasn't really been a topic of conversation since about a year ago.
Until this morning.
I was sleeping on the couch in our living room alone, because I don't even know where my mind is at these days, and naturally I went to bed around 3 AM (as most writers on the internet do).
Around 4:26 AM I woke up in a cold sweat, which I hadn't really experienced before. Growing up I had nightmares often (adults always blamed it on my imagination so I just kinda went along with it. It might've been the actual reason but idk what else it would be), but I would usually remember what the nightmare was about (often having reoccurring ones). But when I woke up I couldn't remember a nightmare or anything else that would've woken me.
I looked to the corner and saw a boy with dark hair and vibrant green eyes, staring straight at me. And he really wasn't happy. It gave me horror movie vibes when the villain is murderous because something really happened to him. He felt to be around 14 years old, but man was he intimidating.
Terrified, I think justifiably, I ripped off my blanket and ran PAST HIM (I wasn't fully awake yet, I'd totally die first in a horror movie) and up the stairs (because I was in the basement). We have this gate at the top of the stairs to keep our dog from going down to the basement and terrorizing our indoor cats. I was fumbling with the gate in the dark, not even thinking of turning on the light.
When I opened the gate I felt a very strong presence of a little boy, who resembled the older boy in the basement. He seemed to be around 6 or 7. He was very angry, not like the green eyed boy because he was more bitter than angry, if that makes sense. The little boy seemed to be trapped upstairs.(Q theorizes that it's because we put up a gate, somehow prohibiting the little boy's travel to the basement.)
I ran into my kitchen, which has a dining room attached to it and the back door leading out of there. I stood in the corner facing the whole room so I could see it all, when I registered how afraid I was of the back door. It wasn't my own fear though, it was more powerful than my own.
There was a man, like the stereotypical "lumberjack". He was buff and had a big beard but I knew that the green eyed boy was afraid of him, and so was the little boy.
I spent the next 20-30 minutes sitting on the couch, coming in and out of this daze and not really being able to comprehend anything. I was incredibly paranoid at this point as well, glancing around rapidly and feeling like people were watching me from my window, through the mirror...
As I mentioned earlier, growing up I had nightmares almost every night. I always got super paranoid like this either before or after the nightmare happened. But it was weird because it all felt the same as the green eyed boy's presence. The energy he gave off, it all felt the same.
So here I am, 7:14 AM and still not having slept.
Q listened to me tell her all of this, explaining the boy's appearances and emotions, and she recognized them. We've come to the conclusion that the green eyed boy prefers the downstairs living room, the little boy is somewhat trapped upstairs, and the lumberjack guy just isn't safe period-he's tied to the back door.
The sooner I stop thinking or recognizing these spirits the sooner I'll forget them and they'll let me sleep normally.
So believe me, or don't. I don't care.
