shoutout to Rusty Rose's Birdie, who only appears in the very first and very last eps for some reason 😭 her speech about it not being her power source came outta nowhere too, but i loved the message behind it

when everyone arrives at the Grim, just before the ep ends, Nine starts breathing heavily and it. instantly reminded me of Movie!Tails when the bar was calling them freaks. fuck. its a nice reminder of where Nine's coming from

speaking of Nine his poses getting more unhinged over time!! hell yeah

i love that the final fight(s) felt like a kid smashing 3 different Lego sets together, real Robot Pirate Island shit

i laughed a little too hard when the Grim's dome started closing in cus Nine's citadel-thing already reminded me of a thing that happened in Fortnite once, but hell naw they had to add The Storm too sdfghj

METAL BIG DESTROYED ME LJKHGFDV im SO glad i wasnt spoiled about it!!! a while in i started finding it creepy instead of funny, which is an added bonus

we're four years into the 2020's and Sonic has nearly died an agonizingly slow death 3 times in 3 different continuities! and dare i say it was delicious every time >:)

unless Word of God says otherwise I'm gonna assume that the giant shadow at the end was The Return Of Metal Big lpoihgfds

So... Twitter, huh? My spoiler filters there had some leaks, and I saw some discussion out of context that... actually made me kinda scared to finish the show. But then I did, and had fun with it just like the other two seasons, and I remembered that Twitter gets high-strung about things that don't matter so much, and that giving it sway over how much I enjoy things is silly lol.

Yes, I think the last season could've been paced differently so it wasn't 5 episodes of the same Final Boss Fight. Yes, I think the writing switches jarringly between gearing for a young new audience and for a seasoned old one. Yes, I think the 2D flashbacks look and move worse than what fans constantly make for free. Yes, I think the final episode doesn't do nearly as much housekeeping as it should (does the Shatterverse still exist or not??). Yes, I think declaring the show is canon to the games or whatever they said probably wasn't the best idea. And yes, I think Black Rose should've had a shoulder-parrot!Birdie to match the other Amys. All valid critiques! All sensible things to think when you've been around the Sonic bush!

But I swear to god, people on Twitter act like these things spoil the whole package. Where's the nuance? Why does every opinion there become an absolute worth tearing others down for? Is it the character limit? I bet it's the character limit.

There's so much I love about this show that were infeasible for the Sonic brand just 3-4 years ago. Externalizing the characters' facets to explore them in-depth. Said exploration spanning multiple episodes instead of being one-and-done. The sheer amount of genuine Sonadow food (and I don't actively do shipping, so me adding it here should hold a lot of weight). The snappy, playful, yet blistering fight scenes that, dare I say, feel like a successful TV-budget Spider-Verse. It was all so much fun!

But I guess stuff like Green Hill being the gang's "home" is a big deal-breaker?? Like?? I thought that was silly too, but not worth ratio'ing people with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse over? Get well soon, I guess??

Rambling over, shout-out to the entire country of Canada for giving me the most fun I've had with a Sonic show since X! I'm gonna go figure out how to address all this as The End lol

I've actually given up making separate posts for my oc introductions and if I did upload it one after the other, I would feel like I'm spamming so as a solution....HERE!! One big post with most of my ocs in it!!!

OC 1: Mari Callidora (technically they're my persona/s/i-🤓)

Literally the face of this entire blog. Mari Callidora is the granchild of Hamber. They are the Explorers' healer and their team is split in half with one half being a fighting/exploration team whilst the other being a healing team.

Short backstory: Their mother abandoned them whilst their father ran experiments on them in hopes of turning them into the perfect vessel for a pokemon to take as its own. After their fathers shady practises were investigated, Mari was handed over to their grandfather for him to raise.

Fairly new oc. I say new even though she's supposed to be a rework of my very first HZ oc :3

Short backstory: Pokemon contestant coordinator. Rumi was forced to step down from the role of a Pokemon Pageant contestant after an incident regarding a "fan". Determined by her love for the contests, she decided to run the shows instead of being in center stage as a way of letting newer talents take the limelight whilst she watches from afar to make sure all's well.

OC 3: Kisma Hynelle

Again, not a new oc. Kisma's been with me for a while now. He was originally my "weirdcore" oc and was just a giant fucking eyeball. Silliest out of the bunch. Very gay too (if anyone has name suggestions I will gladly take them I've been wanting to change his name for so long /hj)

Short backstory: Mari's half older brother. Before getting married to Mari's father, their mother already had a boyfriend and a son and after their birth, she left Mari just so that she can live the life she previously had. After finding out about Mari's existence, Kisma set out to try and reconnect with them so he joins the RVT

(and his way of doing so is fucking pathetic, he literally threatened to tongue kiss Friede in front of the whole crew)

Ignore how I changed his last name from Himeguma to Himeko :3. Also, side note but when I talk about Kaname, I wanna be clear that I'm talking about Kaname in this au. Kaname in the au where Mari gets impaled by Rayquaza stays as a child, the photo above is teenage Kaname.

Short backstory: After witnessing their friend commit Shoujo Rei (yk), Anai was given their friend's Mareep at their funeral. As a way to honour them, they decided to take a trip around the world with Mareep in hopes of having it Mega Evolve into Ampharos before their friends 2nd death anniversary rolls around.

Story time: When I was little and first start wachting anime (not counting Pokemon and Digimon because I didnt know what anime even was when first seeing them on tv) I learned about the big three, and wanted to watch all of them. One at a time thou.

So I watched few videos like amv or top 10 lists on yt to decide which one to start with. Bleach I found pretty boring, still do, just dont think its an anime for me. Im sure its good as it has a lot of fans. But not for me. And One Piece I thought was too childish, not sure if I saw 4kidz dub or it might be before any one of the big emotional scenes (before water 7, as in genocide wasnt a plot point yet) but I thought it was a 'friendship is magic' type of show. Naruto I saw there was blood (why I think I might have seen one piece 4kidz videos) and the nine tail fox, which I thought was the cooled thing ever. So I ended up with watching Naruto first. Spoiler: Nine tails barely have any scenes so that was a huge let down.

I didnt like Naruto because he kept trying to sneak in the womens bath and transforming into a naked girl to give people nosebleeds. Little ace me, who didnt know what asexual was, didnt approve. Sasuke I thougth was an idiot, I normally like the overly emo characters but I just thought hes reasoning and actions were stupid. (Like in the end he came back like "Im going to be the new hokage". like bitch! You are a war criminal that sided with the enemy that tried to destroy the village at one point! Why the fuck would the village want you as their leader??!!) And Sakura just seemed really pointless. There was a thing that she was supposed to be the more giften one in channeling chakra but Naruto and Sasuke quickly cought or was atleast good enough that Sakura wasnt needed that often. There was some good scenes but they were few and far between.

Not liking the main characters is a bad start when watching a show.

I dont remember that much what happend in the anime because I got so mad about how long time it took for things to happen that I ended up suppressing the memories. I didnt know what filler episodes was untill after I was almost at the end of the serie. So I watched all and every filler episodes thinking they were nessesary.

Did you know 41% of the anime was filler? 91 of 220 episodes of the original anime where filler. And 203 of 500 episodes of shippuden where filler. And one point there was even 76 episode in a row that was filler. From 13 july 2005 to 1 february 2007 where just filler episodes.

I refused to watch Bleach and One Piece after thinking they had as much filler episodes as Naruto. Untill I got recommended one piece videos on yt and decided to give it a try. But looking up which episodes where filler so I could skip it. But One piece only had 10 %. I know there were someone that had counted how many minutes where filler scenes in each episode which made that procentage a lot higher.

I know its annoying that One Piece has a lot of scene filler where things are dragged out little too long. But if I had to choose I do rather have filler scenes than filler episodes. Even thou filler episodes can be fun from time to time. But not 76 in a row.

LMAO I can't speak on the Naruto stuff, but One Piece's LACK of filler surprised me too? And I say lack of filler because, shocker! Having like, 3-5 fillers per 100 EPISODES?? SOMETIMES NOT EVEN THAT?? People truly don't realise how insane that is, and how lucky we are for that?

I've said it before and I'll say it again, people really need to watch One Piece SECOND to something else - especially second to other anime. You truly see how good you have it and how good of a show One Piece is when it's the SECOND thing you watch LMAO

hey, i'm new to cr fandom and wasn't there when c2 was airing, may i ask out of curiosity what was the fandom's problem with its ending?

i want to start by saying this post is meant as a personal memory and not an incitement of any discourse. i do not want a lot of asks or replies or anything about this if i can help it. i would also politely ask that no one reblog this as i really just. dont want attention about this when ive discussed it to death on twitter. i also apologize for not having screenshots but i truly cannot bring myself to wade through that again. it was bad enough i still have nightmares about it.

basically, about 3 eps before c2's end, matt clarified on twitter the campaign was coming to a close, and that. did not go well. you see, folk (myself included, though i wasnt part of the following clown show) were very sure c2 would continue a while. it felt unfinished as the empire/trent had to be taken down, and for some of us ludinus was clearly the big bad, etc. so this was incredibly jarring to a lot of folk. and with that came anger. a lot of critique came down to fear of things being rushed, a lack of closure, claims of extreme neoliberialism due to not taking down the empire (i could write an essay on and cite multiple leftist activists who have stated c2 is truthful to the activist tale, not neoliberalism, and also how c3 deconstructs beau & caleb's actions, but everyone is allowed to have their own opinion on it), and that if shadowgast did not fuck in this short timespan the fans were going to kill liam & matt. and threats of killing were the least of what ensued. im just gonna put a tw here for discussion of extreme harrassment and even threat of necrophilia/rape:

people were. atrocious. beyond atrocious. know why 4sd/a lot of q&a events of theirs for a while had no fan questions? partially bc fans were frankly terrible at asking non-ship questions on talks machina, but mainly because folk FILLED their inboxes with insults (and a twitter account was made of screenshots bragging about it) that only the crew would get to filter out, not the cast. know why dani was terrified to show her face on 4sd for a bit? c2 fans would not let up on how it was her cishet fault fjorjester happened. people thought the solution to alleged neoliberalism was to therefore @ travis saying they would defile his veteran fathers corpse. if there was any solid discussion critiquing c2 happening, it was so drowned that actors who had nothing to do with the show told cr fans to stay away if that was how they treated their favorite creators wanting a break. it really didnt help that a certain disgraced talks machina host was firing potshots on twitter when the cast seemed to be just trying to take it all in, so more discourse was kicked up from him. in general besides all of that, you had the average death & even a few rape threats you would expect from the pits of fan entitlement. the way they were hardly the most notable of the insults hurled their way still rattles the mind. and thats just what i saw. my friends have claimed to have seen worse, but if we can help it we dont discuss it in detail, it's that bad. like i said, any idea of an actual conversation about c2 and how someone felt about it from an analysis perspective was not even a drop in the bucket; there was no actual discourse but rather spitting hatred pouring over that mistook personal grievances for excuses to mistreat quite literally anyone around them who didnt agree that threatening to defile someone was funny bittersweet revenge.

the thing is, after the c2 finale happened? i mean, a lot of folk didnt originally like it (i think it's generally pretty well liked now, and i enjoy it), but it wrapped up a lot of issues pretty well. all that terror & terrorizing over a fictional story was really for nothing. and even if it had ended undebateably badly did anything warrant that fallout?

there are of course a few other factors that seperate cast from fandom now. laura also got innumerable threats from tlou fans for playing some antagonist character, twitter is a dysfunctional shithole, and it's just rational the more popular you get to not be buddy-buddy with fans. but that was. a Time, for sure. c3 is a decent campaign but im far from the first person to note that many of its traits are set in trying to find vox machina's fixed story beats so no story beat is left "unturned" and being as un-m9-like as possible, even when they love the m9. a lot of the worst m9 fans now who harrass other campaign enjoyers and lament c2 being "an unloved middle child" are folk who never left the bitterness they held in that time. for as much discourse as c3 has kicked up i really dont think any of it compares to the sheer scale of what happened late may 2021, and im hoping with all my heart it never does reach that level ever again (i think c3 has a slightly smaller (at least online) fanbase compared to c2, and isnt marked by a pandemic hiatus, so hopefully that means something).

i hope i answered your question. i really hate remembering this time but sometimes i think it should be remembered so folk know what the cost of extreme parasociality is. the distance the cast has from fans now is not only earned but maybe should have always been there, so things never evolved to that extremity. but now it's done and gone. i envy people who watch cr on their own merits and didn't get sucked into twitter at the time; it has been fascinating watching folk say they love the travelercon/aeor arcs and the ending. rewatching later c2 really emphasizes how many complaints hinged on extremely online & parasocial headspaces - you definitely wont hear anyone nowadays say liam is a biphobic cishet abusing matt by not making caleb kiss essek yet. i hope new fans have a better time than we did. oh - and get off twitter.

this is probably the most dumbest and self indulgent aus i have ever made but idgaf because trans meggy is so big brained and has me in a chokehold plus im thinking about the splatoon idols again also this au is mainly inspired by @duckapus au/headcanon thing where Meggy was a treasure hunter for a bit before meeting Mario but she like ditched that career path

so anyways

au where Meggy used to be a boy and was named Miguel and used to like have an idol career with a band named Wh5rl_P00l that was meant to be a side job but then it unexpectedly went off the charts so he got super popular, so now hes the super famous idol adored by all

but this isnt what he wanted, sure jt was fun playing with his friends as a side hustle and all bt now jt wasnt, not wih all the eyes staring at him and he others, but most especially him

he wants to be turf war champ, he wants to train not be hounded by hundreds of fans he didnt want when hes jst tying to buy ramen and he's increasingly hating himself and his own body and he isnt sure why

and like a couple years into his career when having a heart to heart conversation wih Pearl he suddenly has a brain blast that he doesn't feel like a boy and then works up the courage (with the help from some much needed pep talk with Pearl) to tell his bandmates he couldn't keep doing this anymore and wanted to leave the band

obviously this doesnt go very well and after a heating argument with the leader of theyre group Striker, Miguel just up and leaves despite Zephyr's (whos the sensitive one btw) attempts at begging him to stay so the 2 can calm down, unfortunately this also lead to Miguel, unintentionally cutting all contact with his 4 friends which stills eats away at him late at night when he's thinking stuff

Miguel changes his name to Meggy, has his transistion thanks to all the buttload of money she's earned as an idol then books it straight back to turf war training finally feeling confident in herself and feeling more happier than she ever new she could be despite the 4 friend shaped holes in her heart that is but she would rather die than to admit this

Then she gets trapped in a paintcan then meets Mario and well the rest was history

she honestly never thought she would meet the guys again, or that they would ever recognise her

but then Desmond (who was the smart one of the group) came knocking on her door saying something about Zephyr being kidnapped and well...

she really cant catch a break can she

even though i am a big elvis fan i LOVE to clown on that man... watching shordy breaking his ankles and causing head trauma on stage 😍😍😍

theres a part during one of his sets of "polk salad annie" where he shoves the microphone into his throat and chokes for half a second before smiling (mischeviously) and it is my favourite elvis moment of all time:

and if u know elvis tribute artists, they try and replicate his sets as closely as possible, to give the audience a "real-life" viewing of what elvis' shows were like, right? so they copy his moves, what he says exactly before each song, etc....

ive seen a lot of tribute artists do this specific set and like NONE of them actually shove the mic down their gullet. obviously, doing so is probably bad for the throat and singing voice and its probably also unsanitary but... COWARDS. SHOVE IT DOWN UR THROAT LIKE THE KING OF ROCK AND ROLL SET OUT BEFORE YOU

if youre a real big elvis fan who does not want to hear me make fun of him and threaten to kick him in the presley jewels and perform the foxy jumpscare on him (/negative) if he ever decides to come back to life do NOT follow me. i like him AS A CONCEPT AND/OR MORE AS A CHARACTER THAN A REAL PERSON and i will call him gross and i am aware of his flaws and problems. he was a real guy with real issues. i also understand that times were different back then, but acknowledging the wrongs someone did is also important in modern times! seriously. priscilla was 14. he is yucky. he wasnt the best person around, but he also wasnt the worst! theres a lot to take away from him, and a lot of what he did was good. but no ones perfect.

big reason on why i like and enjoy watching elvis tribute artists/impersonators more as they tend to come without the exact Sins of Elvis. and i am 100% a The King Fallout New Vegas fan (mr the king has never done anything wrong + doesnt actually know who elvis was)

Ok you know what i just gotta write out my feelings on the new Miraculous movie. I have both good and bad things to say. I will be rewatching it cause i was pretty biased (we'll get to that) and maybe reposting this with my new thoughts afterwards cause this is a lot.

THUS: READ MORE AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION and understand that most of this is based on personal perception, preferences, and an element of nostalgia/frustration (ive been watching this show since season one, would not have made it this far if I didnt have FEELINGS about Miraculous). but take everything with a sprinkle of salt.

THIS POST CONTAINS SPOILERS ABOUT THE NEW MIRACULOUS MOVIE UNDER THE CUT

1. Pacing felt like the biggest issue. A lot of stuff was happening, and a lot of big moments were happening, but there was nothing inbetween that made them feel like they flowed into eachother, and a lot of the character/relationship "development" relied on the viewers previous knowledge of the show, even tho its pretty clear the movie was doing stuff very differently in terms of characters and relationships. Do i understand this is a 1hr 40min movie trying to encapsulate the slowburn romance and 5 seasons worth of content in a way that caters to the fans of said 5 seasons? Yes, its a huge ask for what is essentially 5 episodes (average 20 mins long). Especially with the amount of exposition the concept of Miraculous requires. Is it still disappointing, considering the movie left out information because of its audience and still rushed through important stuff to just get to the "juicy" moments? Yeah

2. Visuals were lovely, as was the music and specific moments. Honestly if the pacing wasnt such an issue and everything was developed more, the Ladybug and Ladynoir songs (maybe even the Hawkmoth one too) would be really enjoyable as a way to progress stuff and show development. Im also a sucker for dramatic visuals during musical numbers to help emphasize the feelings/emotions of the characters, and it really showcases the potential benefits the animation could add to the show as a medium

3. I actually really liked movie!Marinette (partly cause she wasnt a stalker and creep about her crush on Adrien) qnd because she had a much more sarcastic and bantering attitude, even outside of the costume, which made Ladybug an alter ego more than a complete other person (which is a slight issue ive had with the show). The scene of her growing into her civilian persona and becomign more confident actually made me really happy, especially her standing up to Chloe

4. Movie!Chat Noir kinda pissed me off ngl, and felt very disconnected from movie!Adrien (or at least how he was shown). People have said movie!Adrien is much more depressed/isolated and acts appropriately as to his home life (and dont get me wrong, i loved his scene where he stood up to Gabriel), but i think thats why his relationship with Ladybug and complete 180 as Chat Noir feels so off to me? Like his almost "meanness" with Ladybug at first from being super cocky and then doesnt even apologize for his treatment of her even after he falls for her just throws me off (tbf ive always been biased against the "cocky assholes falling for people who put them in their place" trope, so this might just be a me thing). Idk, it just doesnt sit right with me

4b. Anyone else notice Adrien didnt even get chosen for being kind? Plagg just appeared in his bedroom? Like Marinette almost got ran over from saving Master Fu and then Adrien is just like Yo A Cool Ring. Idk, its funny but that felt weird to me

5. The stupid freaking montage. Yall cannot even imagine how much I hate the montage. If they had replaced the montage with one scene and maybe cut down the magician and mime fight to add another scene in to focus on marinette + adrien friendship and then adrien personal life development or chat noir + ladybug bonding/respect for EACH OTHER i think it would have elevated the movie to new heights. The montage essentially was the movie pressing fast forward x3 on any development of characters. Its because of montages like these that make me appreciate filler or fun episodes in any show, because when you just stick a montage in then you feel like youre watching coworkers kiss when the movie is trying to convince you theyre starcrossed ride or die lovers. Made me feel like i watched the origins episode and then the season 5 finale with just the stormy weather 2 episode inbetween. Hate it.

6. Movie!Tikki has personality and movie!Plagg is a fart machine. I think its clear theres a favorite. Feels like it reflects the focus on Marinette and lack thereof on Adrien as a character present in both the show and the movie. Hardly a new observation, just food for thought.

7. ¿¿¿¿¿¿movie!Hawkmoth/Gabriel???? That basically sums up how I feel about him but to explain theres just very little done with him i feel. Plus it seems like all his Hawkmothing around actually takes a toll on his wellbeing, which is really cool and interesting, but it just comes out of nowhere afTER THE STUPID MONTAGE. Like id love to see the kind of degradation of his health, mental physical and emotional, as he works to revive Emilie, cause you cant tell me thay wouldnt make stuff a lot more interesting (i know he got catacylsmed but the show just treated it as an outfit change and checking his arm like a clock until the season finale, so it doesnt really count for me), but mans just shows up looking like a wreck and fights with Adrien

7b. Also i was pretty confused about how him breaking/rejecting his akuma at the end of the movie worked, and him just having all the powers ever while akumatized?? But that's just me being picky at a superhero show where magic animal jewelry exists

8. Movie!Chloe and movie!Sabrina felt more real in a way? Like Chloe was just stuck up and self centered, not actively making everyones life hell, and Sabrina didnt just blindly follow her along (i ADORED when she let Marinette escape and when she shrugged at her during the ball, you go girl you have that personality and self-consciousness the show never allowed you to have until the last moment), it was more a reluctant follower ignoring a friend's red flags ya know? Movie!Chloe wasnt the mayors daughter who had control over every adult in Paris and would literally become a dictator if elected. She was just freaking out at Marinette for "ruining" her sweater. Shes still a bully/mean kid, but shes dialed back, which i think makes her much better.

9. Alya and Nino were just kind of chilling, i dont have any feelings about their characters except how terrible Nino is at advice, and Alya was set up as a good friend throughout the movie, so i appreciate her supportiveness of Marinette. Tom and Sabine were set up to do more/be more important in the movie (I was so sure Tom was gonna be akumatized at the fair, but nope), but were kind of dropped halfway? Like Tom was set up as the overprotective and loving kinda helicopter father who would go all the way to the fair in disguise to watch over Marinette, and then he was just never mentioned again after Marinette felt embarrassed by him at said fair. Wasted opportunity and time for a movie with so much issue in pacing

10. I saw buggachat say this movie felt like an animated fanfiction of MLB and I have to say i completely agree. I dont mean that in a bad way, i love fanfiction with all my heart and you can clearly see that the movie and a lot of fanfiction fixes the issues many fans have with the show. But the thing is, this is a full movie, not a collection of one-shot specific scene rewrites. Thus, for it to be successful in "rewriting" or creating an alternate version of MLB, it has to include those in-between moments, not just the juicy identity reveal, or the "my heart belongs to another " moment, or even the "Gabriel actually cares about his son" moment. Is the movie good at those moments? Goodness yes. It definitely has its humor, its enjoyment that you can tell is a gift to the fans. But as a movie, a whole animated film, it disappoints.

10b. I mean for goodness sake they didnt even mention that Catacylsm was a thing until it was used, and Lucky Charm wasnt utilzed at all, just the fixing power (that might just be a genuine change they made so Ladybug wasnt too unbalanced with Chat Noir tho)

OK IM DONE, phew. Those are my major thoughts from the day after watching the movie, and im going to watch it again more carefully later. Ill not to be so personally biased and to just enjoy it. Who knows, maybe ill think differently afterwards.

Definitely gonna listen to the songs again, and definitely gonna burst out laughing at Careless Whisper tho

i dont usually post about genshin but this arlecchino brainrot born from the leaks that have been coming out is making me insane so i gotta write it down so that i can laugh about it in the future...

what i think is going to happen in fontaine: something Big is going to happen. from one of the leaks i saw regarding the playable harbinger (which is likely going to be sandrone by process of elimination) the way the leaker worded it out was so,,, crazy to me. it made me latch on to the leaker's choice of words for the leaks so now im going to be dissecting it because this will Not leave my mind.

The way the leaker worded it was like this: they were slowly going through all the female harbingers because it was confirmed that the harbinger that will release in fontaine is a woman. there are 4 harbinger females, with 1 already dead.

the leaker goes and starts with signora, who is very clearly not in the picture as of the moment. if ever she Does become playable, it wont be in fontaine simply because it wouldnt make sense. natlan is the place of resurrection, not fontaine.

then the leaker moves to columbina, which they say its highly unlikely because of her ranking. while i myself dont understand this reasoning in a in-world power comparison, i do understand wanting to save the Big Bads for the last parts of the story.

Then, the leaker moves to arlecchino. now this is where it turned me a little crazy. the leaker worded it like this, "unlikely that it's her because of some hearsay rumors that i've heard."

now, if i wasnt such a big fan of arlecchino's design, i wouldve just brushed this off like its nothing. HOWEVER, i wonder why the leaker worded it like that.

from my understanding, it could be two things. my first guess will be a very practical guess. they mean that there isn't much data regarding arlecchino, and that they heard that sandrone will be the one released in fontaine BUT they only heard it in passing.

my second guess... is my crazy conspiracy theory. now, let me just preface this by saying i keep a close eye on leaks because im the type of person who likes saving long periods of time to splurge on one character. so all leaks, whether i want to see them or not, i'll eventually see.

so before this leaker said that there will be a female playable harbinger in fontaine, another leak was floating around regarding Natlan. really, it was just a tiny leak that was barely a leak because we already p much know from the story trailer that genshin released two years ago.

basically the leak said that natlan's theme revolved around resurrection, and that they had mayan culture inspiration. this wasnt new info, just some leak that suddenly popped up during the tiny leak barrage.

Now, going back to what the previous leaker said. "because of some hearsay rumors that I've heard". what if the hearsay rumor that they heard, was arlecchino dying in fontaine?

ok i know it sounds insane, but it would kind of slay hear me out. IF something bad happens to arlecchino in fontaine and she dies, sandrone who is very clearly weaker than arlecchino from ranking alone will either go berserk or run away. sandrone seems like a smart kid, so i would bet that she runs away. additionally, she seems like the type to not want to fight directly or at a disadvantage.

so think of it like this. something terrible, unrelated to the traveler but evil, kills arlecchino. sandrone joins forces with the traveler to kill the unknown evil, hence making her join the wishing pool of 5 stars. check!

then, with arlecchino dead, we move to natlan to resurrect her. it would be the perfect segway. we know already from the playable fatui boys that arlecchino is vicious, but unloyal to her master. hell, commedia dell'arte itself says that arlecchino is a servant usually with two masters

so... what if... we do something for her?

like... save her life?

think about it! that out of pocket leak regarding natlan's theme of resurrection, the way the leaker worded their speculation, not to mention that one reddit comment i read in arlecchinomains asking the leaker if the reason why they worded their arlecchino's speculation was because something bad was going to happen or was because they weren't allowed to say it... and the leaker just liked the reply?

plus, no amount of redemption can save arlecchino's character assuming what we're all guessing is correct. but she doesn't need to be redeemed. she just needs to get along with the traveler, even if it's begrudgingly.

we save her life, she's beholden by debt so she agrees to help us for a bit. and thats how we can get arlecchino in natlan.

(cutting out my gay brain scenario where columbina and capitano (who are in natlan) hear of arlecchino's death. columbina goes insane with fury with the death of her lover and captures the traveler who she thinks killed arlecchino. she finds out we're trying to resurrect her in natlan and she assists us. boom, columbina playable in natlan as well.)

I dont talk about my fics here very much bc i tend to feel like im not a real writer, but in an effort to engage with the fandom and acknowledge that yes im out here doing my own thing, here's some links for anyone that might be interested.

If youve ever seen me talk about my OC, this fic is her canon story. Ive got TONS plotted out compared to what's written here, but every so often i post new chapters. Its a hard sell though. OCs are so niche, and even the character from source material is niche. A double whammy of why should anyone care. Its the most ive ever developed a story tho, so thats kind of cool. If i do ever get it all down in writing, itll be my magnum opus.

This is a Bruce/Wally JLU batflash fic that is not finished and hasnt been updated in a long time. Its 99% fluff. And i do have plans to work on it, but i hit a roadblock that i still havent resolved. So for now its on pause, but its had a really positive response from readers so far. Plus, i think its funny.

This is the big one. This was a continuation of a fic that hadnt updated in several years. I wrote it as an alternate timeline so as not to step on the author in case they ever came back. Anyway, the original was a huge batflash series that all fans of Bruce/Wally should read. It was so good. It had so many characters and threads, and I spent weeks studying it and taking notes in a huge spreadsheet to make sure i at least did it justice even if my timeline wasnt the true timeline. But yeah writing this really stretched my skills. Im very proud of how it turned out.

And besides those ive uploaded some songs to ao3, but otherwise thats it for my DC stuff. I have a lovehate relationship with writing and with fics, but man there is absolutely nothing like the feeling when someone comments that they enjoyed what you made. So even if im not really a writer, im grateful to be able to share these with people.

alright my boyfriend and i FINALLY watched kahmunrah rises again and here’s our (my) final thoughts

alright let me preface this by saying i KNOW this is a kids movie and is supposed to cater towards kids but i am a whore for night at the museum it was my favourite growing up and it’s my favourite now sono want to say as a viewer these were my honest thoughts being such a big fan of the og movies

i was so lost tbh bc i’m not mad about joshua basset but the writing is what threw me . was t nick supposed to be going to college at the end of secret of the tomb ?? how is he back in high school in this movie ??? the summary says it takes place years after secret of the tomb so i’m a little lost about how old nick is supposed to be at this point

sacagawea

i love that they’re pushing her i to the foreground of this film i really wish she got more time in the first three movies and we learn so much more about where she comes from and shes such a bad ass in this film and the friendship with joan is great showing kids powerful women being friends with powerful women but . her vibe just felt so different. just different . a lot more casual a lot more modern american .

am i the only one that felt teddy was … dumbed down . like they tried to make him a himbo almost . he just wasn’t as likeable in this movie and it’s nothing to do with the actor it’s the writing just feels meh .

i love joan of arc so i was excited to see her in this film but … they just kind of out her in with no context . i wouldn’t loved if they gave us some more background on her like when she was added as an exhibit or something just . it just launched us into her character and i wanted to know much more about her

this is nothing against the actors talent im just . the vibe was not there at ALL. that being said they were simultaneously more and less fruity in this film.

actually not mad at this character i see how it’s entertaining but it feels AWFULLY similar to napoleon in battle of the smithsonian .

the rest of the characters felt rather unremarkable tbh . i was gonna comment of kahmunrah but i literally have nothing to say

plot / continuity

it felt like they just kind of mashed all three films together if i’m honest . it just felt like a different version of battle of the smithsonian . the battle at the end in particular was VERY reminiscent of the fight between kahmunrah and larry . and the miniatures adventure feels like secret of the tomb again .

also in terms of continuity whats larry’s story wasnt be a teacher at the end of secret if the tomb ?? now he’s working in japan ?? also the tablet was supposed to train in london if the tablets there where’s ahk??? they were both in loan from the british museum as part of a touring exhibit at the end of secret if the tomb ??? also how does kahmunrah just pick and choose when things come to life in the first three films it was just evrything within a certain radius ???

also texas wasn’t part of teddy’s display but did appear randomly, and sacagawea had a horse but lewis and clarke were gone . and mcphee knows the secret of the tablet at the end of the trilogy so why did they revert and make it known that text cannot move in front of mcphee .

and girl this tablet can do anything . “ye olde ipad” <- my boyfriend

even the jokes in this one didn’t land as well . i’m fully aware the plot doesn’t exactly like up between the first three movies but this one just felt unoriginal and unnecessary as an instalment into what was a great movie trilogy .

the end of secret if the tomb was emotional and heartfelt even if larry made out with a fucking monkey, changing that just doesn’t feel right . i just didn’t feel like i was watching night at the museum .

Lbh Henry Cavill will be fine career-wise. He’s a big name and very popular across a lot of demographics

As someone who just spent the last month bingeing almost everything he’s ever been in, I’ll say this: most of his projects haven’t been great. I personally think he can be a great actor when the writing is there and its something he can really enjoy (ie. geralt and sherlock).

Idk who he is as a person. He seems really nice and down-to-earth in interviews and the like. His costars seem to have nothing but good to say about him. But I remember the MeToo stuff from way before i ever started following him, which i also remember his apologizing about in a way that seemed genuine to me when i read up about it also before i was a fan. And you never know about celebrities. They could just have really good PR.

Re: the witcher and some stuff from a podcast (???) thats going around. I dont buy it. Not because im convinced hes some angel, but you would think we would have heard about this by now. You’d think we’d see some tension between him and the other actors, but we don’t. All we see is tension between him and his boss, which is understandable considering he quit. Also re:quitting. It seems pretty obvious he quit bc he didnt like the direction the show was heading in. And that’s fair. But it’s also fair to assume that being “back” as Superman made him more comfortable with leaving the witcher in terms of consistent employment. Seeing now that there was no formal agreement in place, I can’t help but see it as unwise on his part, which I’ve realized kind of lines up when you look at his projects as a whole. He seems to put too much faith in others having the same mindset as him, which I don’t say as a compliment.

But man, what the hell was WB thinking. The DCEU hasnt exactly been doing well lately. Most of the attraction wasnt the movies themselves, but the stars like Cavill, Gadot, Momoa, Robbie, even Affleck. Trying for another “hard reboot” just seems like such a bad choice when what the DCEU has been lacking is any type of consistency that fans can rely on.

And no matter who the actor, or how good of a person they are or how popular or how employed, it’s unbelievably shitty to encourage one of them to reprise a role thats been in limbo for years and to have him announce it to his fans to promote their franchise and then drop him not even 2 months later.

The hardest hit, of course, is not really to henry cavill (who, again, will be fine and very employable), but to fans. As an actor, he is so refreshing because he was clearly so passionate about his roles as geralt and superman. He knew his stuff, he wanted to do those roles justice, and that’s why it was so easy for fans to love geralt or clark. To know that someone involved will put the effort into making sure “yes, this is the story i know and love, being brought to life in a new medium”, but to see the show drop in quality in season 2 and then that actor leaves, but then hes back in another big role that you know he is equally invested in, only for this? God, the disrespect to these people who invest time and energy and money in hopes that they get a good piece of media for them to enjoy.

i think james did, leigh mightve also thought she was hot and i think they were both fans of her band. that being said, i think james had the big fat crush and thats why he contacted her, but i havent watched the commentary (leigh/cary/james in specific) in a while, so im not entirely sure lol

i dont have muchhhh info about the screenplay for 3D, as much as it kills me to admit that. i would do anything to have the saw 3D script released, especially the ones from the early drafts where it was going to be two films. i think it was going to have lawrence uniting the jigsaw survivor group to take down mark or continue the legacy or something? batshit concept but interesting none the less. i hope we get to see it one day.

the public trap/the love triangle one was originally supposed to be a trap lawrence and john worked on together while he was still alive. im assuming they replaced this with the venus flytrap and mausoleum cutscenes.

i think its more of a mark trap in the final version. im not sure why lawrence, who was purposefully inactive after johns death, would announce himself to mark via a huge public stunt. it makes sense as a mark trap where hes publicly announcing his identity as the new jigsaw and what that means for the traps coming up. i think if they intended for it to be lawrences in the final product, they wouldve shown mark acknowledging it wasnt his. he was COMPLETELY shocked to see lawrence at the end, so i think the public trap was marks.

i think the idea that lawrence not only believes in jigsaw philosophy but also wants to 'spread' its message and preserve its 'legacy' is kind of silly. just look at lawrence! does this man look like a guy whos ever followed a solid set of principles? (he cant even uphold the hypocratic oath smh my head) so him basically becoming a saw born-again jigsaw christian is funny to me. i guess it makes sense given that he was held by john for 2 years, im assuming thatd do that to anyone, but its just... an insane thing to ask the audience to believe. how are all these unstable survivors not gonna get caught IMMEDIATELY? idk. i wouldve loved whatever content we got of this though bc it would add sm to the established lore. thats all i ask for a saw series (totally recommend this mindset btw, it makes being a saw fan much more enjoyable)

(less so the bugs and more the meth slave thing .. get a better hobby sir!!)

but otherwise i like him! him doing meth warcrimes besides the bug related ones are interesting and the whole mansion part of his route was rly cool and fun to read!! also hes just funny i love that hes always responding to things like -_-????

🍰Rei: I LOVE REI SO MUCH so cute 😭 his was my second fav route in general! hes so sweet and its so cute how much hes always thinking about everyone 😭 i also love how he has so many hobbies he has!! I didnt quite like his route as much from a plot/worldbuilding perspective as much as some of the others+the moneymatch stuff in general was kinda not as interesting just because i think its like. nothing super new or exciting i guess! but im a character writing person so that doesn't bother me lol!

I rly love his self love / acceptance journey.. i am emotional.. even if I visually hate his stupid tiny haircut!! i hope he can lean back into some of his not traditionally manly side after he is comfortable with gender stuff 🥺

LIKE OK... my skrunkly.. initial impressions i love every manslut character by default and he is very nice to look at. his personality is so fun omg what a bitch!!! i love that for him.i am biased because its also my dayjob but him being a medical receptionist is so funny LMFAO he seems terrible at it go king give us nothing !! obviously his hobbies make him rly fun to read about, i rly like his art hes good at it!!

his backstory stuff is rly well done too i think his mental health is rly well done in general 😭 but its kinda refreshing its not all magically better either afterwards boys got a lot to work through!!! but i am so glad he can smile in fujis route.. .uuuuu😭😭😭

hey, common sense anon here, hope you are doing well!

i wanted your thoughts on why you think in modern society is obsessed with who has an audience and who doesnt? like why do mainly those who have an audience or following get the utmost attention both good and bad, yet someone like ourselves whos quite ordinary wouldnt be paid any attention unless we have to prove ourselves (as thats what it still feels like from school throughout adulthood) that we are having to either constantly chase someone for their attention or its people trying to garner the attention they want and i think itd got way out of hand to the point where society has lost track of themselves.

we can spend hours and days weeks or months oggling at the lives of others whilst feeling miserable that our life is not like theirs. im concerned that we are not progressing as people should be. so much is wasted babbling on whatever it might be that usually doesnt even concern the babbler themselves. why cant we separate our life from others and learn to be satisfied with where we are? its honestly so hard rn to not feel down in the dumps or behind or lost or stuck. yet someone else is always trying to outdo another being for what cause though? its just a separate lifestyle so why people got to make their own channels and put a character on? makes no sense to me.

its also not just rich and wealthy that rely on needing an audience or cult like fan base either. every other person snd their granny has to have some type of recognition and if we dont have such a thing why do we feel left out or behind in life bc theres always going to be someone younger than us, therell always be someone better than us st something or other so why does it matter at all in society how popular or how many cliques and internet groups where people have to belong somewhere or theyll be too much of an individual. if this makes any sense then please include your opinion!!

i think its such an issue nowadays with how many folk seek an audience and often at times i have caught myself feeling so inadequate or feeling miserable that im not receving much attention outside of relatives. its sad in a way that the world revolves around the way someone appears to be. and in my opinion even those who dont have a following wont amount to much bc in order to succeed nowadays people need some type of following be it online or elsewhere.

for ex the way society goes through trends faster than tissues or how people would only really be drawn to thode who are popular. if celeb dies its a big deal but if its ordinary person it gets overlooked or theyre life wasnt as significant :/

Honestly, this is a human thing rather than a nowadays thing I’ve found. We always want the things we see others having, and compare them to what we ourselves have at the moment. It’s like if you have siblings, how if you sibling got something nice you wanted something nice in turn. How people are always trying to be acknowledged and praised for everything they do. Though nowadays, with social media, this is definitely amplified by social media because we can now see all these things others are doing and want those things too. So it’s constantly people seeing others rising higher and higher and wanting to rise themselves. And frankly, we’re not evolved yet to deal with those things quite right. It’s like how 99% of people hate the way they look/are insecure. It’s because we’re not evolved to be used to seeing ourselves, as that ability is fairly new. Sure there were reflections in things like ice and water, but those aren’t clear and horribly skewed.

With celebs dying and things, it is sad that ordinary people get overlooked but also understandable. With celebs, you know at least of them, and have built a sort of parasocial relationship. With ordinary people it’s kind of like when you read history books about people who’ve been dead for hundreds of years. It’s very detached. Unless it’s truly brutal and gruesome, it just doesn’t feel the same as it would for a celebrity or someone in your life.

And again, the trends thing is very much something that’s a constant as well. Our sense of beauty is dependent on what you see the most. Trends change because you see one thing too much, and therefore you want the exact opposite. That, and it also reflects a culture’s values, predicament, etc. etc. trends changing reflect how we as a people are changing. Trends have always been rather fleeting in nature.
