i like to think that besides asmo, none of the brothers + demons actually got to sleeping around. like they get asmo's situation but they don't actually get partaking in one night stands and fwbs. they're demons not succubi! giving someone permission/control to their bodies in such a state is a HUGE thing. so when mc leaves them in the morning they're all just a mixture of lost, confusion and despair– they just bared their souls to you after all!– even more so when mc thinks of it as nothing more than just a casual fuck and is confused why they're all acting like this. bonus points if mc has actually fucked their way thru the demons and they're all just finding out

idk just the thought of humans being crueler than demons in that sense, miniscule really but if you think about it...

I think the fandom's different opinions on how the demon brothers view sex and intimacy is really interesting. I imagine every writer has their own headcanons about it and how their own reader/MC characters respond. @onyourowndaisymae explored this in her roster series and we had a lot of great conversations while she was writing it. (Gushing about the way we characterize Barbatos and Simeon our favs is always fun to do. lol)

For me personally, I usually write the characters assuming they've had sex at some point in their very long lives, but I use a sliding scale of sorts to label which characters indulge more often than the others and why I think so.

I also tend to imagine my reader/MC as someone that's had sex in the past (writing virgin!reader stuff isn't something I'm super interested in). My reader/MC character enjoys physical intimacy/affection but is also a bit passive/shy about pursuing others for romantic or sexual purposes (typical human self-esteem/confidence issues at play).

How I would approach this idea:

— shy/insecure poly!reader has feelings/attraction for the demon brothers — reader has sex with them assuming a "real" relationship isn't what the demons are interested in (because they're only human, why would they be, they could have anyone else, etc.) and try to be satisfied with it being physical-only — the demons are angsty/hurt the morning after but reader doesn't understand why; the demons feel rejected because they want more, while reader thinks their body is all the demons want — some sort of dramatic blowout and afterwards all the misunderstandings are finally resolved (literal and figurative happy endings for everyone)

It's fun to think about and I kind of like the idea. It's a popular conversation topic in this fandom for a reason—everyone can tweak it to fit their own preferences and MC character/self-insert. My personal spin on this, if I wrote it, would probably be limited to the characters I like writing for (including some of the angels and maybe an OC or two, you know who I am by now lol).

ITS. SO. CUTE. Am I biased because Beel is my fav? Uhm maybe maybe not… But Bub is such a cute nickname for literally anyone but for him it hits ten times harder since it’s part of his name. Bub or Bub’s just feels like such a soft name and given how powerful and even aggressive his name naturally sounds giving it a more tender sound is AHHHH it’s so good.

Ahh! Thank you! Thank you! Honest with Dante's Backstory, I don't feel sad for him—hear me out—simply because Dante himself isn't sad about it, but I do really love his back story!! But I like how his backstory also creates a Domino effect for the other Love Interests.

Onto the Questions

1. Ro Simeon. 100% Simply because he's like the complete opposite of everything Dante is, and his character honestly is just amazing, even though it isn't shown much, I just adore him.

2. What inspired me. Hm, honestly I've had several different post-apoptotic stories, like this one is a combination of two stories ive had in drafts. One where the MC was actually a caregiver and worked with subjects, but it was based underground. While a different one was one revolving around districts and subjects.

Dante and The Dragon are based on two characters from the story where MC was a caregiver and would take care of them. With alil differences. It was called Disparity and MC worked at Eclipse Facility, so that's all funny to me.

3. The best part is writing a character that anyone can design, which is why I absolutely hate writing a proper book, simply because I'm used to writing x readers 💀 and the worst part, is it's time-consuming and if I don't work in a somewhat timely manner, I feel guilty and that affects everything.

4. I like a good hardcover paper book, I think it's real neat.

5. French fries and Chicken Tenders. Why, cause I'm a child who's picky and likes what she likes.

Lizzy pokes at her plate, and Annelie blinks as she sits down.

Annelie: Uh... Satan, what did we make again?

Satan: Vegetable Stuffed Mandragora with Flambéed Snapdragon Wings.

Annelie: The mandragora is tasty for beginners to Devildom cooking.

Annelie points at the black root vegetable full of assorted vegetables.

Annelie: Also Lucifer says not to eat the bones in the wings, but they’re nice and crunchy. Plus the marrow tastes like mushrooms.

Lucifer sighs while Lizzy taps nervously at the snapdragon wings.

Lizzy: How did you bite through this?

Annelie: Hm? Oh, maybe my jaw muscles got a little stronger. Anyway, thank you Satan.

Lucifer: What about me?

Annelie: Yes, good job, sous chef number one.

Annelie pets his head, and he bites her finger while Satan snickers.

I'm just glad they'll cook in the same kitchen... the two of them are evil when they actually cooperate.

Annelie: So we should probably have Solomon work on Simeon?

Lizzy: GAY.

Lizzy grins as a collective snort travels through the room.

I have done this before but I don't mind doing it again! Besides, maybe my tastes have changed a little since the last time I did a list. So here we go! (I'm not going to add Raphael, Thirteen--even though I do love her--and Mephistopheles since I haven't gotten that far in game yet)

Most

Lucifer: He gets my top vote always. Sorry, I can't help it. I am a sucker for any kind of grumpy/serious/sadistic character. Can't stand anyone else but loves you? Gets me every time.

Mammon: This boy has come a long way in my few years of playing Obey Me. I was kinda not into the whole tsundere thing, but the 'I loved you before anyone else did' feeling he gives off has really stuck with me. That and he's just...adorable.

Belphie: I can fix him. Enemies to lovers? Yes please. Plus personally, I feel like I share a lot of personality traits with him, so I relate to him a lot. Sleepy boy who loves the stars is top-tier.

Beel: Big himbo family man, I have to put him near the top. I'm not usually into the athletic types in otome games, but he makes up for that in just pure love and innocence.

Levi: As a gamer and anime lover, I just love Levi in general. I played Mystic Messenger as my first otome game and Yoosung was my first route so nervous and cute video game boys will always have a place in my heart.

Satan: I adore Satan. He's so mature and wise in some aspects and then can pull a full 180 and do anything for cats or cat related things, and even play the most childish of pranks on Lucifer like he's a giddy little kid. Get you a man that can do both.

Simeon: The more I play the game and write about this angel, the more I love him. He's just so wholesome. He loves Luke like a doting mom, teases Lucifer like a little brother, and treats technology like a grandpa. Beautiful character, beautiful man. 10/10.

Diavolo: Himbo #2. I wasn't sure how to feel about him starting out, especially when the whole 'is he really a master manipulator' thing was strong. It might still be going on actually, but I don't care, I see him as just someone who's been sheltered in a castle his whole life and is figuring things alongside everyone else. You know when you have to 'grow up' too fast as a kid and then when you're more of an adult you start doing things to heal your inner child? That's Diavolo. There's a chat in game where all he wants to do is invite everyone to the castle to play hide-and-seek. Need I say more?

Barbatos: A demon butler? Come on. Let's be honest, I never fully left my black butler phase. An extremely powerful demon who spends most of his days making tea and sweets? Amazing.

Asmo: I hate putting him this low on the list, but just as far as character personalities go, I've never been the most into the 'pretty and popular' characters. I think the fandom pulls out the best of his character more than the game does (unless I've just missed some crucial Asmo moments) but he has his tendencies to be super sweet when it counts.

Solomon: I don't hate him, I swear I don't, it's just when I'm forced to make a list, some people are going to be near the bottom! I do love his character though. The mischievous wizard who is also more powerful than some people probably give him credit for. He's great, I want to see more of him.

Luke: My baby, my son, I know he's down here at the bottom, but still my love for him is so great. I don't particularly like children but I will adopt this angel boy. Especially with this last event and he was feeling sleepy, and Lucifer said "now is the time where all good children go to bed" and he fell asleep?? I cry. I will tuck him in.

Lucifer - Arcadia (-1000/10)

WHEN I TELL YOU THEY DID THEM DIRTY I MEAN THEY DID THEM HORRENDOUSLY. THE MOMENT I HEAR IT I SMASH WHATEVER DEVICE ITS PLAYING ON. Lucifer stans were let down

Mammon - Are you ready? (9/10)

This song is actually a certified club banger and I scream in the good way whenever i hear it

Leviathan - My chance! (9/10)

This song is cute and it perfectly fits with Leviathans character and theme!

Satan - Read My Heart (8/10)

It fits with Satan, the piano and soft tune of it is nice! However, I feel like they could’ve also gone for a more angry volcaloid esque tune to mirror his anger!

Asmodeus - Pomade (?/10)

I dont rrly know what to say about his song in ranking terms, but i do know that i wanna say: his song song doesnt feel asmo enough 😭 yk?

Beelzebub - Hungry six-pack (4/10)

This song is atrocious because its so repetitive in contast to the other songs. At least i can tolerate it unlike SOMBODY’S (cough cough lucifer) HORRIBLE ASS SONG

Hello again, Grey Asmo!

Oh noooo this question is so hard!! I honestly love all the characters for different reasons, so after my first couple all time faves it's hard to rank the rest. Though I think part of this is because when I write for them, they become a little bit more like my own characters, you know? In that it sort of develops their characters in ways that aren't in the canon story. So characters like Beel have far more depth in my mind than they do in the game because when I write them, that depth just sort of develops out of necessity. Though this happens with all the characters, even if they have more development in the story.

Barbatos is obviously my number one fave. I almost feel like he gets his own category just because I'm so obsessed with him lol.

So I would say my top three are Barbatos, Solomon, and Thirteen. And since I have no brothers listed, I'll also mention that my favorite brother is Mammon.

My top three least fave?! I haven't even considered this question before. This is where it gets really hard because I really love everybody! Though I think most of them went through a phase where I didn't like them at all.

Okay I really tried to come up with my three least fave and I couldn't do it. Any time I tried to list someone it made me sad lol! I'm such a weirdo, over here worrying about hurting some fictional characters' feelings. I guess I could at least say Mephisto mostly because I feel like I don't know much about his character yet, but it's less that I don't like him and more that I'm just sorta neutral. I thought about saying Raphael for the same reason, but I actually quite like him now, so...

If you had asked me back when I first started reading Season One of the OG, I would've told you that Lucifer was my favorite and that I didn't like Asmo, Mammon, or Levi lol. I would've said I was neutral about everybody else and that I didn't have strong feelings about them either way. Though I've always loved Luke, he's the one exception.

But nowadays, I love them all, though I clearly do play favorites. It's kind of nice because it means I can write for all of the characters. That usually makes me love them more, too. And I can read stuff for all of them, though I definitely don't read as much as I write.

Every time I write for one of the characters, I fall in love with them just a little more.

applause, one of the most asmo-coded songs I've heard in my life. the lyrics, the vocals, the instrumentals, it all makes sense. I feel like mammon would have this one in some of his playlists too. honestly, lady gaga makes a lot of songs mammon and asmo would listen to I believe.

now on to teen idle, the lyrics remind me of asmo too (solmare please give him character development or I'll hire myself to do it jkjk). I think marina is an artist he would enjoy (along with maybe belphie??). the song sounds like something simeon would listen to as well, looking at the vocals and instrumentals.

your best american girl... beautiful and heavy. these kind of instrumentals seem like something simeon would love, it sounds so beautiful and melancholic, perfect for him. mitski though, I just know asmo and belphie have her songs in their playlists.

you might remember this since i believe you've been around obm tumblr since the first season was released, but i recall that only a handful of individuals (including myself) had done in-depth analyses on solomon even though season two had barely ended. ever since then i've always become ecstatic to see other players who have similar views on solomon as i do, but i also understand that i will never be satisfied with how the majority view this silly sorcerer </3 the bouts of lore i have stashed away in my head for him is phenomenal

because although there are many instances of him being so soft & vulnerable with us, there are also those who view him similarly as the newer players despite them being caught up in the main story; i believe that their love for everyone else in the cast (mostly concerning the demons) will override how they view him.

this isn't something that i'm terribly upset by of course, but i can't help but think back to when i had to point out numerous key points about solomon to older players in order for them to see more things clearly, which is fine! but it only makes me wonder just how influenced people can become depending on what their favorite characters think of someone else.

no need to apologize either <3 i enjoy seeing people ramble on about their favs, especially if they share them with myself. this is the first time i've seen you around here...! i'm surprised, considering my time here (not on this new personal account i'm sending this ask from, lol). i'm glad to have caught your eye ^^

You're right. I've been an OM player since a few days after launch, but due to...uhh reasons (which my readers in AO3 and fellow writer friends love to meme on. It's easy to figure out "the reason" if you've seen my works in AO3 haha.), I was not able to show my love and appreciation for Solomon until now.

Isn't it so cool? Most of the Solomon lovers I know know so many nuggets of information about him which is so amazing, so cool and so so very sexy of us ;) /s. Truth be told, Solomon wasn't always my favourite character (though he is one of the characters I liked). I had been a Satan stan around I think 2-3 months of playing until I got to know more about Solomon.

(my ramblings about Solomon under the cut. It's uhh...very long haha;;)

I would have to be honest. I was not prepared to see how much hate this man had gotten from the fandom starting out. I get it. He was really rude in 2-2 which might have soured his first impressions with most beginners. This, along with the vagueness and inconsistencies of his character in the first lessons + Lucifer's own commentaries in Main Story Normal Mode 2-2 didn't help. He also had very strange ways of showing he's looking out for us in the earlier lessons.

Do you remember when he showed the password to enter Leviathan's room to us "accidentally" on the earlier lessons? Also when he lent us a super valuable collector's item (the necklace) from the TSL series that EVEN LEVI doesn't own? No one was talking about it (most people might have chosen to speak with Simeon instead), and the few people who did were being overpowered by the "shady sorcerer", "haha main villain", "who are the real demons" jokes in the fandom before.

I actually had a brief moment in time when I kinda didn't like Diavolo because he was so woobified in the fandom despite doing so much "shadier" things (with the Angel event being the worst thing he did imo around that time I had that phase) along with Barbatos (And Simeon iirc) compared to when Solomon just breathes and everyone is like "Wow he's so shady!" And I'm like wow??? The man didn't even do anything?? Give him a break!!

And you are right. I think that's likely the reason why--even with context, even if all evidences and devilgrams have expounded on Solomon's character and disproved all these "shady sorcerer" memes and whatnot, some endgame players still think differently. And honestly, I can't fault them. Even as a Solomon stan, I'm guilty of overlooking some things about other characters because I'm too busy enjoying all the little things about my favourite and that's okay. It's valid but it's sad, ig?

I think one other factor that might have influenced the hate he got is how late he got introduced as a romanceable. He's a human! He has pacts! Some MCs may have seen him as a "rival" for their favourite demon(or Simeon)'s affections. By the time he became romanceable and more of these tiny little things we already noticed about him in the first and second season became more obvious, it's too late. Opinions were already formed. The fanfic and fanart community already have a "set character" for him/their own HCs--a collective conscious of sorts where a character's portrayal may not be accurate to canon, but that's what the fandom already thought of them so people who enter the fandom would inevitably have preconceived notions about him that are around the same wavelength. Just look at poor Diluc at Genshin Impact. He's also getting the same treatment. :(

Haha! Yeah, I tend to keep to my close set of mutuals. I initially made this account around last last year(?) to crosspost my CYOA and nothing else but got attached.

I will never not be at least a bit baffled how I never got into mcr. A friend can happily try to change that but I tried to for them but just. Could not get into it. By all means I should or child me should have but I guess it never aligned for me. Like yeah I like the black parade who doesn't but that's that.
