꒰ MILES MORALES ꒱
Ꮺ miles’ music taste would be a vast range of rnb, trap, hip hop, jazz, spanish, and any and everything connecting to his culture and he’s not picky with what to listen to tbh
Ꮺ I don’t believe miles has a favorite genre or set standard of what he listens to, it just genuinely depends on what his mood is or what he has on repeat at the moment. generally, it’s a song that he found from tiktok or a leaked song that he found on soundcloud. speaking of, miles has no shame using soundcloud as a streaming service
Ꮺ but miles does have a set genre for each part of his day or whatever activity he is doing. If he’s getting ready and on his way to school, some 90s rnb or 90s hip hop; when doing homework, he plays jazz music or some chill spanish music; during his drawing time, he’ll put on some chill trap music or try to find an album that connects with what he wants to draw
Ꮺ miles is very open-minded to his music taste so he’s not really one to say no to a specific genre. now there were definitely some albums he wasn’t a fan of, but he will explore the artist of that album. he usually gives artists another try, even if their recommended album wasn’t the…best
Ꮺ miles is definitely one to collect vinyls, especially old-school ones, he has them plastered around his room and some sitting in a bin. jeff gifted him a record player so the vinyls wouldn’t be collecting dust and so that they could both enjoy the music on jeff’s off days
Ꮺ miles has a playlist for like…everything, and I mean everything. he has a drawing playlist, a spiderman playlist, a playlist for gwen (don’t tell anyone), a playlist for when he’s overthinking, a playlist to change clothes, a playlist to brush his teeth, even playlists for his favorite tv shows. listen, this boy is very much so obsessed with music
Ꮺ he shares his love of music with his parents as well! I do believe rio is more open to his music suggestions than jeff. however, jeff can be more open to mile’s favorite artists, it will take him a while though. whenever it’s a quiet moment in the morales home, they let music play as the day goes
꒰ GWEN STACY ꒱
Ꮺ I do believe gwen is less open to music suggestions than miles is. like miles is very expressive with music while gwen isn’t
Ꮺ on a day-to-day basis, gwen plays 90s rock music or 2000s pop punk. she doesn’t really go by her emotions, but more like whatever song is stuck in her head at the moment
Ꮺ I believe that gwen was a major pop girl and was very in tune with the pop girls of her early ages, but later shifted into the punk/rock category. a couple of avril lavigne songs and that girl is screaming teen angst at 4 a.m
Ꮺ also gwen has a heavy liking for indie/alt music ! she likes her underground artists or artists that can combine other genres easily. she also has a love for artists like tv girl, girl in red, and frank ocean
Ꮺ technically, gwen would explore the sub-genres of punk and rock but doesn’t dwell for too long. She doesn’t mind heavy metals but prefers not to listen to them all the time, wouldn’t wanna shatter her eardrums since she’s spider woman
Ꮺ she also listened to a lotttt of female artists and female groups, and she’s a huge fan of girl groups! but I think she’s more into the older groups like spice girls, pussycat dolls, etc. I do think she would be into kpop girl groups and would be into ones that make like bubblegum pop or “noise music”
Ꮺ she has certain artists that she can never get tired of and also some artists that she prefers that no one knows she listens to
꒰ HOBIE BROWN ꒱
Ꮺ now hobie is all around when it comes to music, he’s just about on the same level as miles tbh
Ꮺ hobie isn’t embarrassed about any genre that he listens to. so yes, he doesn’t mind getting laughed at for liking country music
Ꮺ now hobie is very big on music that was pioneered by black people, which makes him love genres like country and rock even more. he can never get over how much music is curated by, and usually for, black folks
Ꮺ now hobie is always gonna give his flowers to artists that he loves and shouts them out in interviews or moments when he’s caught on camera. also, whenever he’s asked what’s his favorite song at the moment, it never stays the same omg- one day he says alex isley and the next he says smino
Ꮺ on a daily, hobie listens to whatever he’s vibing out to at the moment. If he just finished a concert, of course he’s gonna keep the mood going and have rock playing; on a lazy day, some new school rnb; on the days of being spiderpunk, some trap music mixed with some old school hip hop; wash days would include jazz, indie/alt, and some rnb (old school and new school)
Ꮺ hobie has a playlist of recommendations for almost every important person in his life. he loves music and it makes his heart happy when he can share his love of music with others or enjoy watching people enjoy what he listens to

♡⃕ this been sitting in my drafts and somehow got the energy to write it ;p
♡⃕ I do love music and this is lowkey me just projecting my love for music onto one of my fav movies…anyways !
♡⃕ if you have more hcs on this, lemme know !

I do tend to draw the choir similar to some of the actors, but I honestly just wanted to make my own designs and make them more greasy teenagers since I love them.
They all have braces (plus Constance) because why not!

Additional hadcanons below!!
Penny
𓃬 I wanna preface before I say anything, I absolutely LOVE CDplayer! And me making them exes is in no way hating on the ship! I just like angst and I basically made them both have a falling out from the JK-47 incident. I don't think Tammy would break up, I think Penny just genuinely avoided everyone and everything after that happened with barely any additional communication. Dick move to practically ghost her I know, but my Penny Lamb is not the most mentally healthy since-, I don't think she would be given all the shit she's been through...
𓃬 Sad note I forgot to add to the backpack is that she keeps a cross necklace in the pocket of her school uniform that Tammy gave to her, ouch!
𓃬 She keeps a mask in her bag since she tends to wear a face mask to try and blend into the background and escape the relentless bullying she faces at St Cassian, it works most of the time.
𓃬 Her blonde streaks in her hair is not dye. When she came back life part of Jane still remained in her, that being the porcelain doll's blonde hair. She can't remove it whether by cutting it off or dying, she's just like that permanently. I touched on my personal headcanons with Penny's sense of identity when it came to Jane in a very old fanfiction, that I discontinued. It's definitely gonna come back in the ghost AU I'm currently working on.
𓃬 She constantly looks like she's been pushed down the stairs. Usually not the case she's just very clumsy, definitely concerns the choir that she just shows up covered in bandages and bruises and acts like nothing happened.
Ocean
✪ Non ginger Ocean is still too cursed to me so I'm just gonna go with her dying it since no one probably wants to be ginger. (no offense)
✪ She keeps any random item Penny gives her. Even if it's like a paperclip she found on the ground, she treasures it. (Reason why half of the crap is just rocks, Penny is like a bird that picks up shiny things and gives them to people.)
✪ She's only an inch shorter than Mischa, (yeah I made him tiny). They have a worse sibling rivalry than Noel at points since the height difference isn't intimidating.
✪ She constantly keeps trying to fix Penny's loose tie in the hallway or whenever she notices it not as perfect as she wants it to be. (because she is insane)
Noel
☠ Again no hate to frenchrap?? I think that's the ship name? (Noel and Corey) I think it's cute! Also means my man has the worst taste in men imaginable since he's fallen for SoundCloud rappers twice now.
☠ We need more hairy Noel designs so I shall provide. Sue me I like facial hair! you're probably gonna have to get used to it in most of the male designs.
☠ I accidentally gave him a mullet (technically was intentional). I thought him growing his hair out would be neat, unfortunately left him with a mullet, but oh well.
☠ I am very defensive about what I think the rtc cast would listen to when it comes to relevant time dates. Imo he listens to the cure, the smiths, scissor sisters, the cardigans, carpenters, strawberry switchblade, and Depeche mode. He also is a fan of most upbeat pop music from any era but he wouldn't tell anyone he actually likes that genre.

First musical emotion?
TF: I grew up in an environment full of music, with a very open-minded mother who listened to a lot of pop and rock music and, above all, an older brother who was 13 years older than me. That's how much I was immersed in teenage culture as a child. I was 3 years old in 1984 when the glam metal wave invaded the airwaves and TV screens. These bands, like Kiss, WASP or Mötley Crüe, very strong visually for a child, attracted me irresistibly. And let's not forget Twisted Sister. I Wanna Rock is the track that remains the basis, the trigger for everything for me. A song that, at 3, 13, 23 or 43 years old, still has the same effect on me as soon as I hear it: to jump in the air like a madman.
First record bought?
If not Kiss, probably a Rolling Stones album. It didn't make much of an impression on me because my brother used to buy so many of them, so my money was mostly spent on Star Wars stuff. There are tons of bands I love, but I think the Stones are my favourite. Because they embody everything I love about rock, even though they weren't as sophisticated as the Beatles or Pink Floyd. Between 1967 and 1972, in their darkest period, nobody did it better than them: they had the look, the attitude, the style and, on top of that, the songs! Let It Bleed is incredible, with songs like Midnight Rambler and Live With Me. As much as I admire technical singers, virtuosos of harmony, Jagger remains unique. I've never tried to imitate him, but as a performer he is the absolute model.
First concert of note?
My brother used to take me to see local punk bands at a very early age, but I remember B.B. King most of all, when I was about 5 or 6, with my mother. It was a jazz festival, outside in the courtyard of a castle, a very cool atmosphere. As soon as B.B. King started playing, there was electricity in the air. Everyone got up and started dancing, I was blown away. And as I was the only one of my age, I could move around freely, so much so that I found myself in the backstage, in front of B.B. King himself! He invited me into his dressing room: "Do you play the guitar?" - Yes! - so don't stop!" And I took his advice. Even though I sing on stage, the guitar is still my favourite instrument, the one I play and master the most.
The band that best managed to avoid the pitfall of the image taking precedence over the music?
Kiss, unfortunately, was far from being up to the task musically. Alice Cooper, after two minor first albums, went on to make four incredible albums with the original Alice Cooper Group. Above all, he made a phenomenal comeback with Welcome to My Nightmare in 1975. After that, the show took over... The band that managed to stay straight and dignified, without compromising the artistic quality of their work, is undoubtedly Iron Maiden. All of their 80's production is impeccable, and if they had a slump in the 90's, they came back even stronger with the return of Bruce Dickinson, and have been going strong for twenty years! Their work ethic is exemplary. With Ghost, we take up Phantom of the Opera, one of my favourite tracks from their early period, and one of the few where I felt we could add a little something to it.
Best punk song in the world?
There are so many, because I was also brought up on the sounds of the Pistols, the Ramones, the Dead Kennedys... But as a kid, I never got tired of listening to The Great Rock'n'Roll Swindle again, especially the sequence where Sid Vicious sings My Way. His version is one of my favourite songs of all time. What could be more awesome than to see a guy slaughtering this standard while doing the same, shooting the shit, with the audience that came to see him! It was like the ultimate middle finger, and it made me happy, and it showed me the way.
The band that remains the grail for you?
Queen, because the show side, the big show, is the ultimate for me. In the early 70s, my favourite musical period, there were no big shows yet, like the Stones started doing afterwards. Queen is the same. Of course, their best albums are from the 70s, but the peak of their career for me is the Wembley concert in 1986. Magic wasn't a great record, but the show was breathtaking, dantesque, with a repertoire as vast as it was delirious. If Ghost could ever come close to the 1986 Queen, I would be delighted.
The greatest Swedish band?
ABBA, of course. No one will ever be able to stand in their way. The Beatles are the monarchs of English rock, ABBA the monarchs of Swedish pop. Björn and Benny are national heroes. I found myself at a huge, formal party when Benny suddenly sat down at the piano and started Thank You For the Music. There was silence in a second. This guy is a monument. You can't imagine what ABBA has done, not only for pop music, but also for Sweden and the Swedes. This band proved that you can move mountains.
Which Ghost song are you most proud of?
Cirice, probably. I often write my songs by singing into my phone a melody that is in my head. We were about to finish the album Meliora. And the co-producer tells me that a really heavy and powerful track is missing. I tell him I have this heavy, heavy, macabre sounding tune with a long intro and a crushing riff. He suggests I tweak it while he goes for a run. When he came back, I had written a chorus, lyrical, catchy. It wasn't the leaden track he was hoping for. But it won us a Grammy!
The most evil band?
Certainly not Mercyful Fate, as one might imagine. They, like most Norwegian death metal bands, more or less satanic, are the most charming guys I've ever met. They seem more like nice teachers than evil creatures. The scariest band is probably Von, a mythical American black metal band from Hawaii. These guys were really scary, with their terrifying size, they looked really dangerous. But I think the evil is mostly on the side of those who pretend to defend the good. For me, the most evil and unattractive musician is Ted Nugent. He's pro-life, pro-hunting, and claims he's only fighting for freedom. But the world he defends is about as free and tolerant as Vladimir Putin's. I refuse to listen to him.

The thing that still floors me about the Unheard EP is this is the stuff that didn't make the cut for Unreal Unearth. I think the choices made were absolutely correct ("Too Sweet" is a great song, but "Eat Your Young" was thematically the strongest and most appropriate for gluttony), but I'm still like. These are the rejects!
After listening to the song *cough* times I revise my opinion that it's a straightforward rock song. It's actually a piece of extremely well-crafted pop. The shimmery organ and choir? The way the chorus stretches out at the end of each couplet?
I take my whiskey neee-aaaat My coffee black / And my bed at threeee You're too sweet for me / You're too sweet for meeeee
I don't have the actual technical terms but it's like having somebody get into my brain and pull out an amalgam of all the things from pop I think are cool (the ooh-oohs, that fucking wedding/dirge bell, even the little bit of harmonica at the post-chorus).
And this is even before we get into the lyrics themselves. They're so! good! Elegant and succinct but also poetic. This is the sort of enrichment my brain needs, and there is nothing more pleasing than having a new chew toy to gnaw on.

Part 1; MK Music HCs These have been haunting me for a while so enjoy!
Note: All these characters listed are MK11 versions, although I might make another one of these for MK1 later. Characters included are Johnny, Sonya, Jax, Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Raiden, and Kenshi. I will be posting other parts, this one was just getting reeeally long.
Johnny
He listens to a mix of 2010’s pop music and sad dad rock. You’ll hear him go from California Girls(Katy Perry) to Headstrong(TRAPT) to The Diary Of Jane(Breaking Benjamin) right back to Party In The USA(Miley Cyrus) and he will have no visible whiplash whatsoever.
I think he’ll listen to whatever’s on as long as it sounds good, but he generally sticks to the aforementioned genres.
Sonya
She’s a Dolly Parton fan at heart, but she thinks it’s embarrassing and would rather be shot point blank than have anyone else find out. She doesn’t strike me as someone who would listen to much music in public, unless she needed to ignore outside noise to focus- in which case she would blare Breakcore music.
Jax
I don’t think he listens to music too much, but I can see him listening to club music to try and hype himself up. I think he would also enjoy a bit of classic rock(think Nirvana or Oasis), but probably wouldn’t seek it out other than changing the radio station. He seems like the guy who would rather let the radio play whatever for background noise than actually create a whole playlist.
Not technically music but it still kinda counts, I think he would listen to those ASMR videos where they pretend to do your hair or makeup- He has no urge to get his hair or makeup done but he finds them relaxing when he’s struggling to sleep.
Kenshi
He doesn’t like listening to music much, it distracts his senses and somewhat disorients him. The only time he really listens to music is when someone else is listening to it nearby. He won’t really complain, but he doesn’t care too much about it. He really dislikes heavy metal, above any other genre, although it's only because they tend to mess with his senses in a way he isn't comfortable with.
Liu Kang
He won't complain about any music that’s playing, but he only really listens to music on his own when he needs to focus. He’s partial to Vivaldi when it comes to classical music, but isn’t really picky when it comes to what he’s listening to as long as it aids him in focus.
Out of all the music that’s been played for him, he’s more drawn to music that has a sort of ‘hopeful in the face of hopelessness’ feeling to it. Songs similar to Let Go(Frou Frou) would probably be the type of music he prefers. He has a personal hatred against math rock, but he refuses to share it with anyone because he has no reason to dislike it other than thinking the time signatures are stupid.
Kung Lao
He also won’t openly complain about whatever music is playing, but he tends to gravitate towards a strange mix of sappy love songs and deceitfully cheerful suicidal songs. This Charming Man(The Smiths) and Vampire Empire(Big Thief) are definitely on his playlist, but I think he would also listen to Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Third Eye Blind, maybe even some Hollywood Undead if he was in a certain mood.
I don’t see him liking classical music too much, but he thinks the 1812 Overture is cool because of the canons. Tchaikovsky is the only classical music composer he respects.
Raiden
He pretends to not like modern music, staring off into the distance disapprovingly whenever Johnny tries to show him some of his music. I think he secretly likes 90s club music, but refuses to admit this to anyone. Unlike Sonya, he doesn’t even indulge in this he just balls it up inside because he thinks it’s ‘unbefitting’ of a god.

I don’t need to be up this early but this idea won’t leave me.
So, Steddie Battle of the Bands AU featuring punk!Steve.
Corroded Coffin join a battle of the bands competition run out of a little bar just outside Indianapolis, expecting fully to make it all the way. There’s not a lot of musicians in their area and out of all of them, CC have the most milage and the most unique sound. Sure, it’s metal, but in the bigger city that’s not the death sentence it would be back in Hawkins.
For the most part, they’re right. There’s a little pop trio that do okay, a Bob Dylan type with an acoustic and the flattest, most nasal tone Eddie has ever heard, a rock outfit with a drummer who’s clearly on speed and fixing to pull a Spinal Tap, and one very old dude who’s there more for the fun than to actually compete. They’re a shoe-in.
Except there’s a punk band that were running a little late, and manage to take stage literally just as they’re being called. The Demogorgons, they’re called.
Eddie is pissed the instant he sees them, firstly because he’s been on sight with punks since ‘84 when a flock of the little shits dissed Dio to his fucking face. Second because out of all the things they could have been called, they picked a DND creature??! In Eddie’s house??? Who the fuck did they think they were?!
The longer Eddie watches them play (he can’t leave until they announce who’s moving on from this round, he’s literally a captive audience), the more pissed off he gets because they’re good.
The lead guitarist is a girl with dark, short hair mostly hiding her face, but she’s absolutely slaying their cover of White Wedding, adding more than was originally in the song seemingly on the fly. It’s beautiful, as a guitarist himself he can at least begrudgingly respect her talent.
The bassist is also a girl with short hair who seems like she’s in her own world, totally lost in the music and jamming so hard Eddie can’t really look at her for too long without getting sucked in with her.
The drummer looks like an absolute madman, big buff blonde guy who looks like he’d bite if anyone got too close to him. He’s bare chested, showing off a few tattoos and a couple piercings that make him far more interesting than Eddie cares to admit.
But the singer/ rhythm guitarist, is what is really tripping Eddie up.
He’s prettier than he has any goddamn need to be, and he’s weirdly smiley for a punk. Like being on stage is his happy place, which Eddie can relate to, even if he hates admitting any commonalities between them at all. His voice too, is lovely. It’s not the typical scratchy punk sound, it’s high and airy and from a technical standpoint (only that, Eddie swears) it’s really good. And he seems like he’s not having any trouble playing and singing at the same time, which is shitty as hell because Eddie still does sometimes.
Before their set ends, Eddie has decided he hates them. He hates them, so much.
So much in fact, he goes over to heckle them once they finish.
It goes south almost immediately.
He was right, the drummer is definitely a maniac. It’s like he was waiting for an excuse to fight someone. And given how fast the singer snatches him up after he decks Eddie, this is a frequent thing. The singer and the drummer posture at each other and for a second Eddie thinks they’re about to fight.
But evidently the drummer thinks better of it and stalks off to start helping put their gear up.
The singer apologizes for his bandmate, even though Eddie started the fight, and introduces himself as Steve, the drummer being named Billy. He’s a good kid, Steve tells him, just angry and still learning where to put that anger. He offers to buy Eddie a drink for his trouble, and he’s so floored he ends up accepting.
To Eddie’s surprise, they end up talking, and they end up talking a lot. Steve is easy to talk to, and he listens like what Eddie has to say is important. When he talks, it’s with this sardonic edge to it that reminds Eddie of sour candy. Before he knows it, it’s been like three hours, and it’s time to announce who’s advancing to the next round.
To Eddie’s complete lack of surprise, Corroded Coffin make it through, but so do The Demogorgons. Steve congratulates him, sincerely, and Eddie stutters out the same.
They part ways for the night, but the pretty punk with the prettier smile won’t leave Eddie’s thoughts.
Cue CC telling Eddie to get his head in the game, trying to head off the crush they can spot forming. They know him well enough to know the signs, and they don’t need him pulling a Romeo and Juliet with some punk he met for one night.
Little do they know, The Demogorgons are having a similar chat with their own lead. They’ve worked too hard to have Steve get distracted, or worse, go soft, over some greasy metalhead he’s only talked to like, once. Steve of course promises that he won’t. After all, it’s not like he’s really going to see him much, and Steve isn’t easy, he has to get to know someone to fall for them.
Cut to a week later when one Steve Harrington is dropping Dustin off at his DND thingy, only to see none other than Eddie Munson perched at the head of the table. He’s explaining what their quest is for the night, or something, and he’s so animated, so into it, he doesn’t notice Steve frozen in the doorway.
Steve makes it out before Eddie sees him, but from that moment on it’s like he’s every where Steve goes. They bump into each other constantly, Hawkins is a small town, it’s easy to do. It gets to be such a regular thing that Eddie makes a joke about following Steve, and Steve sings that Rockwell song about being followed and they find themselves laughing together again.
It’s easy, really. Too easy. And before they know it, whenever they bump into each other, they end up talking for a while. It’s just a few minutes, they both reason to themselves, a few minutes is fine.
But a few minutes turns into an hour, turns into a couple hours, turns into a smoke sesh at Eddie’s, turns into a jam sesh at Steve’s, and before they know it, they’re missing each other when the other isn’t around.
Of course it isn’t long before Gareth notices his best friend’s preoccupation, and Robin could clock Steve’s daydreamy look three miles away. They each come clean to their respective long-suffering bestie.
Neither are happy, but they both care more about their friend than some stupid band competition. They know the rest of their bands won’t be happy, and that could be a pain, so rather than being even slightly reasonable, they hatch a plan.
Eddie and Steve are determined to be the punk-metal version of Romeo and Juliet, but that doesn’t mean their story has to be a tragedy. This is a musical, afterall. What better to do than bridge the gap with the power of music.
So the next time Eddie and Steve hang out, they both spend probably fifteen minutes uncomfortably dancing around trying to ask the other to write a song with them.
Steve cracks first, because seeing Eddie uncomfortable is so fucking bizarre it trumps his own nerves and he has to ask what’s going on. Eddie decides to be brave and takes the leap, asks Steve what he’s got to ask, and to his surprise Steve tells him he was going to ask the same thing.
They haven’t really talked about it, the tension between them, but it boils over when Steve tries to explain why he wants to write a song with Eddie. Eddie can’t watch him flounder for a second more, when he knows he could just be kissing him instead.
He takes Steve by the jaw and kisses the soul out of him. If they weren’t sold they were doing the right thing before, the kiss seals the deal.
They spend the night trading kisses and lyrics in equal measure, alternating between strumming strings and heartstrings until they’re both so caught up in creation, in each other, they’re harmonic.
After that, they hit crunch time. The battle of the bands is next week, and learning a whole new song is a pain in the ass for both bands. It’ll be worth it, but Jeff doesn’t know that and Billy doesn’t care.
The boys make time to see each other, but of course, they get caught.
Band practice gets postponed on both sides of the fence. They know they shouldn’t, it’s stupid, but Eddie spent the day getting harassed by a flock of “Concerned Christian Mothers” who were not shy about telling him exactly what they thought about him, and would not get the hell out of his face about it. Steve is a caretaker down to his bones, and doesn’t think twice about going to care for his metalhead.
Nancy however isn’t stupid, and Grant knows damn well Eddie would only postpone practice if something was genuinely wrong. So Nancy follows Steve to see what the hell could be so important to him that he’d call off practice, and Grant goes to bring Eddie a care package.
Nancy isn’t happy about finding the two spooning on Eddie’s couch, but she doesn’t make as much of a fuss about it as Grant does. Grant goes off about sleeping with the enemy and treachery and the metalhead code of honor (which he made up right there on the spot), but the real bucket of cold water is Nancy telling Steve how disappointed she is that he pulled them all into this, made them care about it, only to waste his time chasing after someone instead of putting his heart into the music the way they all had been. She asks him to get serious, then leaves.
Steve excuses himself, ignoring Eddie’s pleas to wait a second, come back, please, let’s talk about this.
They don’t see each other again until the night of the show.
The competition threw them a curveball, however. None of them know until they get there, see the layout of the big warehouse like space, but instead of playing one after the other, the competition is amp versus amp. CC are freaking out a little bit because they’ve never played that way before, and Eddie is picking up an acoustic, why the hell did he even bring an acoustic, what’s going on?? The Demogorgons are equally nervous, this being a first for them too, and Steve is quiet, so quiet, he’s never like this before shows, what’s going on??
Despite everyone’s nerves and fears, the two bands take their places on the two stages, on opposite ends of the room from one another.
Eddie introduces Corroded Coffin with the same flare he usually does, but tells the audience that tonight’s performance is going to be a little different than their usual. He finishes with “This one’s for you, Juliet.”
He starts strumming the acoustic, the song he and Steve had written together filling the space, warm and full and a wild departure from their usual sound. He’d gone over it with the guys, added some polish to it, made it more metal, but he’d asked them to hold off on that until he cued them.
“And hey darling, I hope you’re good tonight. And I know you don’t feel right when I’m leaving-”
The rest of Corroded Coffin have never heard Eddie sing like this, didn’t even know he could. Usually he was all growls and grit and demon noises he’d figured out how to imitate. They had no idea he was even capable of making a song sound so beautiful.
Eddie continues singing his heart out, strumming his guitar, praying that Steve picks up on what he’s doing, joins him at the drop, doesn’t leave him again. He’s nearly convinced himself he’s going to end up singing the whole thing alone, and God how stupid would that be, that when he reaches the switching point, he nearly drops his guitar when Steve’s voice rises up to meet him. A spotlight flicks on, illuminating him as he sings into the microphone, playing his own part of the accompanyment.
“And hey, sweetie, well I need you here to night. And I know you don’t wanna be leaving me here tonight-”
Steve’s voice is the perfect counterbalance to Eddie’s. It’s light where his is heavy, soft where his is gritty. It showcases their duality, while highlighting how good they are together and Eddie would cry if he weren’t on stage.
He takes the next verse as planned, but Steve’s voice stays with him, harmonizing along side him so perfectly it’s as if they’ve been singing together for years rather than about a week.
“You know you can’t give me what I need, and even though you mean so much to me, I can’t wait through everything.”
That’s different, not the line they wrote together. It lands like a gut punch when Eddie looks up and sees Steve’s expression. He’s not smiling. He always smiles on stage.
“Is this really happening?” Eddie sings back without missing a beat, knowing the next verse is his, meaning it might be his only chance. He prays to every muse he’s ever had to lend him the improv skills to land this.
To his suprise, he hears Jeff’s heavy guitar start to build, Grant’s bass swooping in beside it to flank him. When he turns his head to check, they both give him the nod, the one that’s always meant they’re beside him, for better or worse. It gives him to courage to put his soul into the words he’s about to spit.
“I swear I’ll never be happy again, and don’t you dare say we can just be friends, I’m not some boy that you can sway.”
There’s a half a second pause in the music, just long enough to wreck Eddie’s heartrate. He can see Steve’s face from here, not clearly enough to make out every emotion that flashes across it, but enough to see when it lands on determination.
“We knew it’d happen eventually.” He and Steve sing, or in his case shout, in tandem.
Corroded Coffin fall back in with them, and to Eddie’s utter surprise, The Demogorgons join them. The sound of two bands playing the climax of the song he and Steve had written together hits Eddie so hard he can barely sing past the balloon of emotion swelling in his chest.
The crowd reminds him they’re there, joining in on the chorus of ‘La la las’ going around the room, their voices loud enough to shake the walls. It’s everything Eddie has ever wanted from a crowd, and it’s way too much along with everything else going on right now. Eddie can’t focus on it, not when Steve is staring him down from across the room.
“If you can wait ‘till I get home, then I swear we can make this last.” Eddie belts, Steve’s higher register wrapping around the notes the same way his hands wrap around his mic.
Both bands let the song taper out, leaving just the crowd echoing back the words to them, just Steve and Eddie singing to each other.
Eddie reaches out his hand, as if he could take Steve’s in his despite the distance. Steve once again meets him halfway, extending his own hand as if to bridge the distance.
The lights go down and the crowd is still chanting. It takes longer to settle them down than it does to make the decision to shrug off his guitar and run to his boy. Eddie hesitates only to look over at his bandmates.
They look exhasperated, but fond. Grant rolls his eyes and tells him to go kiss his stupid punk or whatever.
Eddie is off in an instant.
He finds Steve tearing his way over to him, runs straight into him almost the same way he’d run into him the first time they met outside of a venue.
There aren’t words, they don’t need them, already sung them. There’s just Steve and Eddie and how badly they’ve missed each other. The apologies and affirmations can come later, when their mouths aren’t so busy kissing the life from one another.
In the back of his mind, Eddie registers some of the crowd around them wolf whistling, but for once he doesn’t give much of a shit what the crowd thinks of him.

Music Bokuto and Akaashi would listen to
A/N: If you have any ideas of what either of them would listen (especially Bokuto) to I genuinely would like to hear. Put it in the comments/reblogs or send an ask or something, I legitimately want to hear it.
Bokuto
I think he would listen to modern rock
I can't think of many bands in particular
Maybe he'd listen to some og like 70/80s rock but I don't think he'd listen to it frequently
He loves Fall Out Boy and stuff like that where's it's not quite pop punk but still close
I could also see him really liking 80s-90s Japanese pop
It's just kinda funny to think of him listening to that genre but canonically that's probably what he grew up listening to
When I look for playlists for him on spotify it's always rap and hip hop
Which makes sense I guess, like if he was an actual high schooler right now that's probably all he'd listen to
But I feel like canonically that doesn't seem like something he'd actively listen to
Hearing someone else play it or if it's on the radio? Yeah he likes it, it sounds fun
Does he ever listen to it other than that? Nope
He listens to music constantly. Like he listens to music while going literally anywhere or doing anything
If he knows someone well enough he listens to music while they're talking to each other because he can still focus, actually it helps him focus a lot
But if they're not one of his closer friends he won't because he doesn't want to seem rude
He's definitely been yelled at a lot for not even realising he was listening to music
At this point I'm just talking about how neurodivergent he is but whatever
Akaashi
I have a playlist for stuff I think he'd like
Here's the link
Also I feel like I should say this and I have no idea if it'll make sense
But every character playlist I see has the same kind of songs from the same bands and I feel like it's just the music that the playlist author likes, which isn't bad by any means like put whatever you want that reminds you of that character
But I specifically tried to put stuff that I think he would legitimately like, regardless of what I think of the music. It just kinda happened that I think he'd like some of those artists
I don't know what genre these technically fall under, I guess indie? More chill vibes for sure
But I think he'd listen to Arctic Monkeys, Rex Orange County (they suck but their music is good), Wallows, Cage the Elephant, that kind of thing
Maybe some Twenty One Pilots, JVKE, Fitz and the Tantrums
He absolutely lives for The Neighbourhood
I feel like he likes music a lot but he's not the kind of guy that is playing music 24/7, it's just when he's doing homework or working out or something
Is generally willing to listen to most music but is for sure pickier than Bokuto
Probably has a playlist that he listens to when he can't fall asleep
Sometimes it helps him sleep and sometimes it's just nice to listen to until he gets tired

Aikatsu song reviews: Glass Doll
Tumblr media
Song
I like to think of this as the Aikatsu song that gets everyone excited, but I'm sure that can't be true of everyone... it's still an Aikatsu classic and one of the franchise's best works, though. It's heavy enough to appease those who are fans of gothic metal, but light enough to appease those who aren't... I think. Even if it doesn't have metal-style screams and growls, the influence is still there – the song's composer stated that the song was inspired by Dream Theater and Nightwish. And honestly it doesn't need to get any more metal than it is – I'm sure it already scared the kids anyway.
The intro does a great job building up the tension, using a keyboard or synth organ to achieve a very glassy sound, and repeating the same pattern to somehow make the listener feel unease and a false sense of security at the same time. As the glassy pattern repeats, you know it's going to change somehow and get even scarier. Sure enough, the beat drops and the song straight up turns into metal, but it's surprisingly clean metal that's atmospheric but not overwhelming. As the song goes on, the melody takes on a tone more reminiscent of pop-rock, but it still retains the atmospheric heaviness that makes it special.
In a lot of Aikatsu songs, the synth instruments blend in well with the live instruments, but in this song, the divide is quite obvious. The synths (especially the keyboard) have a sort of blocky, computer-y quality that stands out against the more expressive sounds of the guitar and bass. Sometimes it straight-up sounds like video game sound effects. Also, the percussion during the first verse is kind of annoying. I don't know if they were trying to go for the sound of a shutter flapping in the wind or some kind of creepy atmospheric thing or what, but it's just annoying to me.
Personally, I think the guitar 'solo' (technically not a solo since it also has drums and keyboard) is too long, and I found myself getting bored/annoyed before it was even halfway done. But I do understand that a minute-and-a-half guitar solo is exactly what this song needs in order to get the metalheads sold on it. I get it.
Vocals
They're the biggest thing holding this song back from being "true" metal, but honestly, I don't see it as a problem. It's a mistake to assume that all rock songs need powerful vocals. Yurika's voice gives the song a slightly delicate quality that makes the song feel more mature, and Sunao's backing vocals help create a haunting vibe.
In the Juri & Rin version, Rin's vocals are basically what you'd expect, and Juri... wow. She really gives the song a whole new life with her ethereal, emotional singing style. I can almost imagine her singing this under a spotlight while dangling from a chandelier and holding a single wilting rose. Miho sings this song in a way that shows how Juri is both a singer and an actress.
Lyrics
Depression. These are lyrics about depression! I mean, they're also just "gothic sounding" lyrics that convey the image of a vampire rock idol, but they're definitely about a person in distress. There are multiple times when I felt depressed and started crying and then just decided "you know what, it's Glass Doll time". And this song helped me, honestly.
Choreography
They were definitely going for a live rock show feeling... in vibes, not practicality. It looks like something that might work for a real concert, until the performers hilariously start running away from the microphones and just running all over the stage. There are also some unfitting bouncing/shaking movements during parts with a slower, heavier rhythm. Honestly, the choreography is probably the weakest thing about this song, especially with the awkward early CGI and a lot of angles that don't do it any favours. However, I do like the choreography near the end, especially the knocking part.
Visuals
I love the stage design!!! I especially like the bat-shaped chandeliers, wrought iron fence, and blue roses with curling vines. They even had gold bats escape from the Special Appeal and fly around the stage at the end of Yurika's performance in episode 20. The dark stage works really well against Yurika's clear white aura that glows like a ghost.
It's a real shame they never reworked the performance with updated CGI. It would've looked so good.
Good points: Intense atmosphere, good lyrics, reaches a level of hardcore rarely found in children's anime music Bad points: Guitar solo is too long, some instrumentals have a slightly stilted or computer-y quality
Rating: 9.6/10 Personal rating: Also 9.6/10, even though I think I like this song more than most people do.

BOB DYLAN LYRIcS AND CRAZY NOVEL LIKE RELATIONSHIP WITH JOAn bAEZ
okay i'm gonna answer this cos i was listening to joan earlier SO (and no i dont know why this is in greentext format just roll with it i'm so sorry) (this is uhh veeeeery very long too)
>1962/3
>some scruffy loser calling himself bob dylan shows up in new york with a guitar and pretty much cosplays as woody guthrie for a bit
>joan baez, who is the same age, made her debut self-titled album at nineteen years old and is well liked by everyone, her music is generally appreciated by everyone on the scene, she has a beautiful voice and strong vibrato and really good at guitar, involved in activism stuff, played with lost of older respected musicians, the whole folksinger package
>but she doesnt really write her own stuff
>bob dylan write copious volumes of material but his performance is uhhhh less than amazing and technical ability has uhm room for improvement
>his debut self titled album flops hard
>scene is pretty small so they inevitably meet
>joan is like lol look at this loser isnt he cute hehe--his songs are pretty good too huh
>she invites him to play with her, they do a bunch of shows together etc and eventually get romantically involved. joan introduces him to civil rights stuff & anti-war stuff & anti nuclear and all that stuff
>bobs stuff was already political but in a sort of abstract way, his work gets a lot more specifically activist-ey in a very powerful way
>they're still doing a lot of shows together-bob is pretty famous on the folk scene at this point, largely because of joan endorsing him pretty much lol, still romantically involved. music press starts paying attention to bob dylan and he releases quite a few albums with famous songs on them. people kinda shit on him for his voice its a whole thing but i really like his voice so whateverr
>but by 1965 music is starting to get Weird, beatles are happening etc, lots of new styles of music, new youth culture, drugs are also happening
>bob releases bringing it all back home - some of these songs have electric band backing, where previous All Bar One of his songs were solo acoustic guitar, vocals, maybe some harmonica. some people are vaguely put out by this but i think most people find it pretty cool
>20th july 1965 bob releases Like A Rolling Stone, arguably his most famous song. it is very electric and a banger and much Much more rock (it was pop then but yknow) than folk. young people go YAY YIPPEE
>newport folk festival 25th 1965 (five days later) bob plays with an electric band (later to be known as The Band) to Outrage from folk purists who thought he was their god etc. someone shouts 'judas' at the stage implying he was betraying folk music by going electric and that guy must absolutely shit himself every time he remember that he did that because goddamn. pretentious twenty-somethings who hadnt even liked folk music before bob dylan get mad at him, old folk singers are mad at him, popular myth says the famously pacifist pete seeger threatened to cut the power cable with an axe. everyone is Big Mad except like a rolling stone goes hard and people who care a bit less about Proper Folk Music think its a banger
>highway 61 revisted comes out and bob dylan is now a major sensation amongst music enjoyer everywhere, like his stuff is really really cool, new and exciting, also decidely Not Folk but like really very cool. bob also starts smoking weed and taking speed b/c ofc he does & if you look him up he looks like twelfth doctor with the sunglasses and the hair and i'm right on that
>joan is still doing traditional folk music mostly. she is less than amused at bob going electric but iirc mostly polite about it. later that year she released 'farewell, angelina' an album of covers of bob's songs. a lot of them are Very Good, all sung with much more skill than bob could ever hope for sorry bob. which is like. Damn Okay Joan Thats A Move but it was probably finished before newport.... idk..........
>england is suddenly like OMG BOB DYLAN????????? at around 1964/65 but it takes a long time for music to get over there b/c the british music industry had a thing about only selling uk artists so american records were special import it's a whole thing. so people are just getting his famous folk stuff riiiight as he changes his mind about that and starts doing rock music instead, though still with a very poetic bent
>on a related note uk albums were often released differenet in north america to 'appeal to american audiences'?? so the version of the beatles rubber soul that inspired bob dylan and like lou reed and Everyone is kinda of.... wrong...... its weird
>bob n joan's relationship is kinda strained at this point, due to musical differences and yknow relationship stuff, not helped by the fact that bob could be a bit of a prick and was also quickly accumulating A Legend around him. not helped by his insanely cryptic and often nonsensical interview responses.
>at some point in the middle of all this bob marries Sara Lownds in secret. no one knows. he doesnt tell joan. he's not With with joan anymore but she didnt know he was literally marrying someone else. apparently sara wasnt really a music person and didnt know exactly why he was so famous.
>1966 uk tour (this is filmed in d.a. pennebaker's DONT LOOK BACK (no apostrophe. cos dont & look & back all have four letters so it fits on a poster and the apostrophe would muck up teh symmetry also they were all really fuckin pretentious)). bob is playing mostly electric sets with The Band (known then as the Hawkes) which was A Choice To Be Sure
>some people love it but all the folk purists think he's awful and bad and terrible boo him offstage etc which is pretty terrible
>he starts taking a lot of drugs. music gets Weirder. he's kinda not doing too good
>joan shows up partway through the tour and its......awkward....... to say the least. he'd kind-of-not-really-ish broken up with her & then got married to someone else but she just inserted herself in there. idk why. the whole of dont look back he's kinda dismissive of/rude to her ngl
>meanwhile his Mythos has built to uncontrollable levels. he doesnt exactly help this b/c he's very clever with words so people would obvious find meaning in his lyrics, and when he spit nonsense in interviews people would often find a method in the madnes yknow?? like he's smart. he's also really weird. but people have started reading WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY too much into EVerything he says and does. like everything. like idek what a modern comparison would be. gaylors have nothing on this shit. understandably he gets pissed off at people asking stupid questions
>joan has a girlfriend at this point also. like yeah in a lesbian way. she says she's straight but she did have a girlfriend her name was kimmy
>blonde on blonde comes out in '66. its his most......... 60s album if you know what i mean. like its lots of drugs and lots of instruments and plays on words and its very good, big double album, he's looking super hip on the cover, songs rumoured to be about edie sedgwick, the whole shebang. the lyrics are inspiration for batshit insane theories for decades to come even though a lot of it likely is just in there cos it sounds cool and rhymes.
>includes the song 'sad eyed lady of the lowlands', which is about sara. joan thinks its about her and says so. bit awkward. its a beautiful song and bob never plays it live, it was recored at like three in the morning and the band didnt know how long it was gonna be etc etc lots of myth
>in november 1966 bob dylan has a motorcycle acciedent near his home in woodstock new york state and is in hospital. music enjoyers everywhere Very concerned. he's okay, and after this more or less disapears from public life for a bit. has a bunch of kids. just chilling in the countryside. does a bunch of jamming with The Band, lives of royalities etc. tries to avoid people mostly. this mysterious disapearance combined with blonde on blonde fuels a lot of theorising by fans which he thinks is stupid
>in just five years bob did more musical innovation than most muscians could ever hope to, and he Never WOuld Have been Famou s WIthout Joan.
>joan is getting even more involved in activist work as the vietman war drags on and on. still doing folk music. she has electric instruments in her stuff eventually but still in a definitively Folk Style. she plays at the Woodstock Festival in 1969, she got married too, doing lots of activism stuff, everyone still really likes her music. 1969 bob relases his country album which most people (bob included) think is kinda trash
>1972 joan releases 'to bobby' (she called him bobby a looooong time after everyone just called him bob). which is. Wow. its uhmmm. well. it's a song beseeching bob to come out of retirement and help out with the anti-war cause. lots of musicians though that is he wrote a good new anti-war song it would really help the cause like he used to in the early sixties. bob was pissed at this like relaly annoyed he though she was being far too presumptuous and i really gotta agree with him there like dude's been through enough.
>1975, bob's been back touring for a year -ish. he decide's he gonna put together the ROLLING THUNDER REVUE which is pretty much him & all his friends who are also folk.country.rock whatever you wanna call it musicians and they go arund a whole bunch of little venues and generally have a good time. lineup includes joni mitchell robbie robertson roger mcguinn emmylou harris, a very cool violin player called scarlett (i think) allen ginsberg the poet who had a gay crush on dylan in the sixties, the blonde guitarist from ziggy stardust AND JOAN BAEZ :D there are like ten people on the stage at once and loads of guitars and various string instruments etc and they redo all these dylan songs in new and exciting ways.
>they film some of it to make this move called Renaldo and Clara. i havent seen it (yet) but its like a semi-fiction semi-documentary film about the tour and also some sort of plotline they string together from somewhere idk. joan is in this film too. from what ive seen there are some uhh. some fairly OUGH scenes, on top of bob n joan singing together on stage all the time. there s clip of bob saying that he n joan could sing together in their sleep. she is still a wayyyy better singer than him but his voice is really good these years and they way they do the songs together is veeeeryyyyy cool. theres a scene in the film where bob says (and i quote) 'it really displeases me that you went off and got married' (OUT OF NOWHERE MIGHT I ADD) and joan says 'you went off and got married first and didnt tell me' and he doesnt really have an answer to that. like GODDAMNIT BOY
>there another scene where there was a bit of a script but joan went off and said something like 'do you know why we never couldve got married?' and bob was apparently bad at improv so he wasnt saying anything and so joan just kept talking going through all the reasons why they never got married and all the issues between them. On Camera. like damn.
>also in 1975 joan's album Diamonds & Rust comes out. the title track is one joan wrote herself and it is Very Clearly about bob and its uhhh a little bit scathing. also very very good. generally regarded as one of her best songs. awkward as you can imagine. 'my poetry was lousy you said' 'we both know what memories can bring / they bring diamonds and rust' 'you burst on the scene already a legend'
Now you're telling me You're not nostalgic Then give me another word for it You who are so good with words And at keeping things vague 'Cause I need some of that vagueness now It's all come back too clearly Yes, I loved you dearly And if you're offering me diamonds and rust I've already paid
LIKE GODDAMN JOAN OKAY
>bob gets divorced from sara in 1976? 77? idk that happens too. i think joan gets a divorce too but not sure.
>theres a bit gap in my knowledge here idk what happens to them specifically after that. like i know a bunch about bob but nothing relevant rn. hes christian for a bit. makes some albums that suck and some that are good. joan still does folk music & mostly covers.
>in 2003 bob releases a memoir called Chronicles Vol. I (supposedly of three but theres only one lol). he talks about joan a bit, how could he not, describes how he was so envious of her when he was 21 and saysing 'she looked like a religious icon, like somebody you'd sacrifice yourself for'. super normal thing to say about your ex ahaha.
>2022 the rolling thunder revue film comes out (its a netflix film but also. internet archive) and they're both interviewed for it. some iconic moments. i think most interviewers sort of stopped asking joan about bob out of politness after a while but obviously she talks about him there thats what the films about. yeagh.
>joan baez like hangs out with lana del ray n stuff now & has books out or her little drawings. she also paints. and bob still tours at 82 (almost 83) years old. and still relreases new stuff. yeagh
ANYWAYS the concise history of Joan Baez and Bob Dylan. sources: dude trust me ahahah no but the source is the 2022 rolling thunder film, dylan's chronicles and around a year of being obsessed with bob dylan. he was my real life old guy blorbo fr.

Share pdude hcs??? 😈
ok soooo. idk if you mean one pdude in particular sooo imma do the basic ones! (p1,p2,p3,p4)
good lord it has been forever since ive been able to write down my hcs for these sillies, and i have a whole bunch so i'll put it under le cut :)
Tumblr media
p1
-well versed in ASL, uses it in overwhelming situations
-sunglasses double as prescription lenses (i give this hc to basically all of the other dudes, but i think p1 would need glasses more than any of them)
-probably the smartest of the other dudes. essentially a polymath. if you ask him a question about almost anything, he'd probably give you a reasonable answer
-surprisingly good at drawing. does better with drawing portraits rather than full body. has a very scratchy and rough looking art style
-(technically canon bcuz of like, the war journal) writes in a journal (essentially a diary, but he'd rather die than call it that), mainly writes about his emotions and internal struggles, but sometimes writes about the other dudes and his experiences with them
-cannot go to sleep in silence. he's gotta have music on or some sort of background noise or else his mind starts to wander
p2
-physically can't stay in one place without moving. whether it be rocking in place, tapping his foot, or shifting his weight from one foot to the other, he's always making some sort of movement.
-actually pretty friendly to those around him. he just has a pretty short temper, getting easily agitated by things (or people) around him
-besides p1, probably the skinniest of all the dudes. mans is all bones compared to say p4 or p3
-champ is his emotional support animal. he's been through a lot, and champ is basically his only refresher from the hell he lives in
-strangely flexible...can slip through fairly small cracks and corners easily
-has a LOT of vocal stims. this mf meows whenever he sees a cat. he makes random noises to himself. he repeats things that he hears others say
p3
-got a surprisingly good amount of muscle on him. goes to the gym pretty often. definitely flexes whenever he gets the chance
-slight southern accent. very noticeable when he gets angry or when he talks fast. if you point it out to him, he'd probably get really embarrassed
-average r&b enjoyer. out of the blue, p1 once asked who luther vandross was, to which p3 gave an almost hour long lecture about the importance of r&b and why it's one of the best genres to date, why old r&b is miles better than new r&b, quizzing p1 on different artists, etc
-also an unironic country music enjoyer. he begs and pleads the other dudes to let him play just a little bit of johnny cash whenever he's offered the aux cord. maybe a bit of dolly parton. hell, probably some shania twain, if he's feeling bold.
-a fairly good singer. he's no freddie mercury, but to say he's horrible would be an overstatement. knows what songs are in his range, and which ones aren't. isn't really one to sing out loud in front of a lot of people, though. (one time, he sang to p1 in an attempt to calm him down during one of his moments. it worked, surprisingly :0)
p4
-one of the happiest dudes. at this point in his life, he's not nearly as violent as the others (he still has his moments, of course, but he's not one to just spontaneously go ham) and just sorta accepts things as they are
-a genre GOD. this man listens to pretty much everything. his favorite genres are funk, nu-metal (or metal in general), pop, and r&b (he and p3 bond over their fav artists)
-while champ is basically an emotional support animal to p2, to p4, champ is more of a service dog. he's getting older, which means he isn't able to do things as easily as he used to, so champ is there to fetch things for him and in general, just help him with daily tasks
-very confident with who he is. he isn't embarrassed by the things he does. he takes pride in being different.
-doesn't give himself labels when it comes to sexuality or gender. it's not that he's against it, he just prefers the idea of being unlabeled. (though, i personally hc him as being pansexual and transmasc. you go grandpa.)
-DAD BOD. a fair bita muscle, though. he's pretty strong compared to the other dudes.
-has an array of random talents. one day he'll just start juggling randomly and be like "oh, this? yeah, i picked it up a few years ago. nothing to write home about, to be honest."
--
aaaaand that's all! sorry if it's a lot, i just rlly have a lot to say abt these goobers (and even more to say abt the dudes i didn't include!)

Ask game! 6, 20, 30, 38 pls 🌑
Of course! Thank you for sending the ask :D
6: Which Batcher would you want to be your coworker at your irl job?
I am unfortunately unemployed,, lmao. Technically a full-time student and a housemaid so if we're going off that then I would say I'd want Echo to be my 'coworker' because I think he'd be more than willing to give a helping hand (or scomp, lol) when and if I should need it. But if we're talking like what I hope to be doing in the future which is whatever thing that has to do with screenwriting, teaching, or creative writing; I'm going with Tech. I think Tech and I would get along very well because we're both on the spectrum and we could just like parallel play and be cool with just that.
20: Which Batcher has the 'weirdest' taste in music?
Unrelated note, Echo is a k-pop fan and I'll die on this hill (and he's a Broadway fan). I think the person who has the 'weirdest' taste in music is probably Tech and I say 'weirdest' in the sense that he will listen to whatever genre. He simply does not care. You shuffle his liked songs and you feel like you're having a stroke. It's a mix of old dad rock that Hunter and Wrecker enjoy, it's the punk and emo shit Crosshair listens to, there's some old/first-gen K-pop in there, he listens to Los Panchos and Vicente Fernández. County? Sure, why not? He's a big fan of Beyoncé. He knows all the words to Rap God. He listens to Broadway songs and game OSTs. Omega makes him listen to those fan songs of video games. Catch him crying and listening to Mitski at 3 am in the morning. I could go on and on.
30: Tell me a random headcannon you have about Omega.
A random headcanon I have about Omega is that she has a good night routine. Like the book "Goodnight Moon" before she hits the hay she says goodnight to anything and everything. Of course she starts out with her brothers–"Good night Hunter. Good night Echo. Good night Tech. Good night Wrecker."–Then she goes on her personal items and Gonky–"Good night Lula. Good night trooper. Good night Gonky."–Then the ship and surrounding things–"Good night Marauder. Good night stars. Good night planets."–and then when everything is said and done and everything is silent she'll stare out into space and whisper, "Good night Crosshair."
38: What color do you associate with each Batcher?
Ooh, this is a fun one! Honestly, my answers are super basic, but eh. For Hunter, it's red, mainly because he's the squad leader and one of the main colors of the squad is red so automatically he gets that. While he does look good in teal, I think red's his color. For Echo it's a deep blue, mainly because of his time spent with the 501st but also because it's a calming color and Echo is just someone you'd want to be around to feel calm and safe. For Wrecker it's yellow; the color I associate with any positive/bubbly character for obvious reasons, but also it's my sister's favorite color and she's the sweetest person ever so I think it's a fitting color. It's a warm color and I'm sure he gives warm hugs <3 For Tech it's oranges/browns. Typically I tend to associate purple with 'smart' characters because of Donatello from TMNT, but orange/brown is just a more fitting color for Tech and I can't really describe why. Maybe it's the s2 armor? For Crosshair it's green because of his Imperial armor and I guess also because it symbolizes growth? In a sense? Also it's not one of my favorite colors, lol. For Omega, I associate her with teal colors. Something like the ones on her outfit from S1 but also because I love her so much and teal is my favorite color as well.
Here is the ask list if ya'll want to send me more asks ^^

diagnosing characters from these savage stars/crater of grace with modern music tastes
west: west's music taste is vast and eclectic but its main staples are "scary bluegrass" a la bands like the bent brothers, the haunted windchimes, the lowlies, and blues, think hozier, gary clark jr, nathaniel rateliff, as well as female power-vocalists like halsey and florence + the machine
leena: she listens mostly to sad women folk, think boygenius, mitski. the two places leena and west can agree are halsey and taylor swift and even then they're both casual enjoyers and not hardcore fans
finlay: here's your obsessive swiftie. but his mother raised him on sean-nós and so his first love always will be music from ireland, the maritime provinces, and the uk: both rock (hozier, u2) and folk-acoustic (fairport convention, steeleye span)
mari: she listens mostly to classical guitar and such (she'd love beall and finch, for instance) but she can also be coaxed to listen to some of west's less screamy choices (the bent brothers, some of nathaniel rateliff's more contemplative pieces).
adalia: she'd like r&b/soul type music and also rock. seeing as she's mexican (technically she's from a space colony on europa but the original colonists were sent by mexico) i think she'd probably listen mostly to music in spanish. she does have a soft-spot for mostly-instrumental psychedelic/space rock of the sleeping pandora and mirovia variety and there i think she'd listen to just about any language.
jessie: @faithfromanewperspective here's your 5s0s fan. also florence, lorde, halsey, and more eclectic stuff like marian hill. i think though she does feel like the kind of person who'd put on pop hit radio mostly while she works, because the djs do all the work for her and she'd rather hear local car dealership ads than ads for mcdonald's.
gadiel: older, left-leaning folk/country. dolly parton, the greatful dead, judy collins. people like that. he didn't really have access to any music at home in the first years of his life except elisa's beloved 90's pop which he hates because it's what she listened to, so hands down he just bought some old guy's collection of cassette tapes after escaping her because he was fascinated with the technology and broke down crying to "ripples" and that was it.
ashanti: both hard-driving blues/punk/rapetc and also soft jazz a la ella fitzgerald. it depends on what her mind needs at the moment.
madeline: she likes grunge, metal, punk, and punk-adjacent. u2, black sabbath, garbage, souxsie and the banshees. she and ashanti would probably agree on bands like five three eyes and meet me @ the altar.
@remylong @chaoticpotatodemon @quantummeep @tleeaves @chaosandtwo

hi cubeguy i sent u an anons a while ago that i dont use tumblr but i periodically check ur blog bcus it specifically rocks & im back. i listened to an album u recommended on here but im curtailed by the character lim to give a review so i typed out a real time extremely long reaction to the songs LOL definitely the logical nextstep. its @ pastebin.com/Ejd8E9VX idk if im allowed to link shit on tumblr?? anyway i hope to get around 2 other musiks u like bcus i lovedd this btw its get to heaven that i listened to THANK U 🎀🙇‍♂️💋💗💗💗
HEY YOU HAVE AN AWESOME WAY OF TALKING ABOUT MUSIC. GRINS SO MUCH. i’m glad you enjoyed gth it’s so so special to me genuinely the album of all time …. my favorite songs off it are s/s/w/d the wheel and blast doors Lways a joy to see someone go crazy about them
Tumblr media
^ really fond of this descriptor here also i think it succinctly puts a lot of what i love about ee’s songwriting down into words…. the weird entanglement of love and hate and confusion and clarity it’s a very very special moodset
also YEAH the way you described the vocals…. the early everything everything albums play a lot with like. roughness and scratchiness and the kind of ‘animalistic’ register of the human voice. (honestly everything before raw data feel. this is literally because the singer just decided to learn how to sing in high registers without falsetto for the first time which is like cool but also AUGH i miss that old sound
OK SO the thing about this bit
Tumblr media
absolutely YES the thing about get to heaven is that it’s literally just like. a complete album of bangers. going down through their other stuff is gonna be a little more rocky, you might enjoy the like once-per-album weird slow ballads you might not, even though i’m lazy about listening to some of their weaker stuff when i do go through the entire albums i still find a lot of quirks in the instrumentation or lyrics that manage to impress me. i’d recommend delving into either man alive or arc next those are basically on par with gth although a bit more weird and morose? if you’re feeling it id then recommend raw data feel which oscillates more around pop/new wave but still has some really interesting musical constructions, gets extremely electronic and synthy…. a fever dream is like a 50/50 split between really long slow songs which are just Fine and really fast heavy bangers. just go listen to notln, can’t do, desire, good shot, run the numbers and ivory tower LOL. uhhhh reanimator is arguably their weakest album probably the most unremarkable but it’s also like my second favorite right after get to heaven. it’s weird and glowy and flimsier than their other tunes. that enchants me i guess…. they’ve also got an upcoming album that once again seems to be more pop oriented, cold reactor is the best of the singles they’ve released for it yet. what else. there’s like a youtube playlist out there of demo/outtakes/non album stuff that you can find real easy, there’s some really good stuff in there. personal favorites are the come alive diana demo, even the dogs and dna dump
ok so the fucking thing about the “lore” of this album. there technically isn’t any and most of ee’s albums are a per-song thing usually revolving around like. modern social commentary. the genius pages for most of their songs have like. direct songwriting annotations by the band and explain the thought process behind them. however for gth there’s also like a small layer of overarching lore about this one guy called thomas silhouette as a character. he’s not so much the crux of any narrative or presence as much as he’s just like. funny anagram arising from a lyric in fortune 500 that gets alluded to in later albums because he’s loosely representative of a lot of themes that get tackled in ee songs like capitalism and dread and shit like that

WDW Trip Headcanons | Sans x GN!Reader
Sorry this took so long, Thanksgiving week has been quite busy 🥲 but now it is done and out for all the world to see 🐎🐎for context, the reader is hyperfixated on the disney parks (just like me 😎)
!!THIS HAS NOT BEEN PROOF-READ OR EDITED!!
enjoy!!!
Also I added an intro to lead into the headcanons 😱
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It started with a simple statement:
Tumblr media
* WHAT?? SERIOUSLY???
* seriously.
This is the first time you found out that Sans had absolutely no idea about the pure magic and majesty of Disney parks.
* You've been on the surface for like a year...how do you STILL not know about Disneyworld...
* idk
* Do you even know about the Disney company at all??? You have to, they are industry giants in like every category of anything ever...
* i think so, are they the ones that have the princesses?
* Which princesses?
* you know, the ones.
* No I don't, you have to tell me which ones.
* the ones with the hair.
* WHAT KIND OF HAIR?
* long hair i think.
* Rapunzel?
* idk
* Okay yeah that's it, we're going to Disneyworld, lemme go book the flights.
* cool
Two weeks later, you and your skeleton boyfriend were off to Orlando so you could expose him to the wonders of Walt Disney World.
Tumblr media
Once you two are there and walking around, he'd probably be more focused on you rather than the park. I mean, it's kind of hard to ignore how excited you get over being in the park. The amount of facts that pop up in your brain the second you're in the parks is abundant, so much so that there is no way to stop you excited rambling (not that he'd try, he thinks it's cute).
* Look!! Look at the windows!!
* im lookin.
* It's a tribute to Marc Davis!!
* i...sorry, i dont know who that is.
Expect a lot of Sans not understanding a single thing you're talking about.
* Sans!! Look at the rocks, it's shaped like the Nautilus!!
* yeah?
* Yeah!! That's cause 20000 Leagues Under the Sea was here before The Little Mermaid ride!!
* wow.
* Do you know what any of what I just said means?
* um...not really no, im sorry.
He'll still listen though, he likes seeing you happy and excited.
* i really don't think these guys have the guts to be in here naked
* They're fake skeletons, Sans, but there's a rumor that the skull on the bed in Disneyland if re- wait...they don't have the guts. I just got it.
* took you a minute huh.
* Shut it, bonehead.
* sorry, but a name like that won't get under my skin.
* These jokes suck, you must have left your funny bone at home.
* i know, im just a lazy bones like that.
Everyone around you two have to occasionally either sit through agonizingly horrible jokes or get up and walk away.
* Hey, Sans! Do you think you can solve the murder mystery?
* murder mystery? isnt that a little dark for magic kingdom?
* It's not too dark for the Haunted Mansion, that's what this ride is all about.
* ah, okay. i wont let it rattle my bones then.
* You're such a doofus.
* actually, in your own words, im a bonehead.
* Do you think you can do the puzzle or not? The lines gonna move...
* yeah, yeah, okay.
Sans also seems to really like standing in line to hear what other people are saying.
* people say some wild stuff here, (y/n).
* Like what?
* i just heard a little girl ask her mom what happened to Mickey Mouse when he went backstage and her older sister said that the staff skinned him.
* Oh my god.
* thats not all, after that her mom agreed and told her thats how they make the Mickey ear hats.
Tumblr media
* these fireworks are pretty nice.
* Did you know that they have to set them off no matter what? For safety reasons, they can't let old fireworks sit back there unused, even is they cancel the shows.
* so theres technically always a show?
* ...I guess so, yeah.
* ...
* What do you think happens if an airplane flies to close to the fire works?
* what happens?
* It probably becomes a scareplane.
* that one's a stretch
* C'mon, I thought it was funny.
* you were close, but not close enough. maybe next time.
Driving the car to the hotel, you turn to Sans.
* Did you...like today's trip? I wasn't annoying was I?
* i liked it, yeah, and not at all, i thought all your little facts were great. im excited for what you tell me tommorow.
* Alright, I'll stock up on my facts for Animal Kingdom tomorrow.
* you better, ill even polish my humerus.
* I knew you were gonna make some kind of pun, I felt it in my bones.
* what, have you been spine on me?
* Okay, that one was knee-t.
Sans lets out a sigh.
* What's wrong?
* nothing at all, i love you.
Tumblr media
I'M SORRY IT TOOK SO LONG AAAAA
also sorry if its more dialogue than headcanons, I've been coding VNs as of late DHFYSGADFh
I kinda wanna make this into a short visual novel...but I cannot at the moment, I must get this fic out DHGFIYFSG
I hope it was good, if anyone wants a part two in another part just send in an ask 😎

uh here's some stranger things music taste headcanons, which is just varying levels of projection, vibes, and the visions I'm receiving from god. also I'm not great with genres so if I say something and you're like "that band is not fucking indie" mind your business. also this is unofficially modern au just so they have access to the full range of music
mike: synthpop king!!! so this is going off of his (semi) canon music taste from his playlist, so that would be bronski beat (obviously) depeche mode, mgmt, etc. i also feel like he'd like indie rock/alt and indie pop stuff, stuff like beach bunny, cavetown (heavy on the cavetown), arctic monkeys (he'd LOVE 505), the smiths, muse, also a little bit of bands like the front bottoms. also when I say something like indie pop what I mean here is that even though conan gray and taylor swift have similar music styles, you could convince me that he'd listen to conan gray, whereas there's no way in hell he's a swiftie. sorry. also I think he'd like lorde? this is based on vibes. he'd prefer the earlier stuff over solar power though. also, once again just based on vibes, I feel like he'd like mcr, it transed his gender a little bit. I also think he'd like a few classic rock bands like journey and queen, and this would be where his and will's music taste meshes, bc otherwise it's not usually that similar. I also think he'd really like narrative songs/albums! something tells me he really likes achilles come down
will: so he's technically got a canonical music taste and it's similar to jonathan, so that's a lot of rock. I also think there'd be a little bit of emo, just bc he likes the cure and what is the cure if not a precursor to modern emo, so he's dabbled in like, fall out boy and early paramore, anyway back to the rock, so that's the clash and the cure (obviously) along with journey, queen, david bowie, pink floyd, arcade fire, nothing more, the foo fighters, muse, etc. also, like mike, I think he'd like narrative songs and albums! which means I really think he'd love coheed and cambria, which is a band that's made comic books of a space opera based on their music. also I think he's a music snob. he's not as bad as jonathan, but he is still a little judgy. HOWEVER. I do think he'd have a guilty pleasure for a few pop songs lamenting being in love with your best friend, just bc the idea of will occasionally blasting you belong with me and it being a secret he takes to his grave is so funny to me
max: she's a pop girly through and through, a pop connoisseur, she listens to pop and all it's subgenres and shoot-offs. she's absolutely a swiftie, she stayed up for the midnights release and she cried to anti hero, which is something the cia couldn't waterboard out of her, she also thinks of lucas when she listens to willow. anyway, she loves the timeless pop girls like britney and madonna. she also likes avant garde and experimental pop, like kate bush (obviously), and she's a rina sawayama stan. she might also like some hyper pop, and she's maybe even listened to some pop punk. she also loves indie pop, and she also really likes the Sad Girl™ genre (BAD GENRE DESCRIPTOR BUT YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN). artists I'm thinking (other than the above) are olivia rodrigo, phoebe bridgers, mitski, bishop briggs, japanese breakfast, dua lipa, billie eilish, lorde, doja cat, florence + the machine, marina, etc. also I just realized I've only listed female artists which wasn't intentional she probably listens to male pop artists too but I bet she is someone who mostly listens to female artists. also I think she's one of those people who endlessly shits on country until before he cheats by carrie underwood is on, or jolene by dolly parton. also I know this is the third time in this post I've said this but she likes kate bush! so she's probably someone who likes narrative albums/songs! I bet she loves the preacher's daughter album by ethel cain (I'm so sorry to assign you ethel cain girlie)
el: I think she's not genre picky in the slightest. for her, she likes music for the experience of listening to it, it's not so much what genre it is and more if she has fun listening to it, who she's listening to it with, or if she has a sentimental connection to it. but she was raised in a lab for years!! music is a new thing for her!! she wants to hear all of it!! however, the music she listens to the most is definitely rock and pop, by virtue of the fact the people she listens to music with most often are max, or will and jonathan. also, although she does like rock, she definitely plays up how much she likes pop to irritate her music snob brothers. she also really likes the punk/riot grrrl genres though! artists she probably likes are taylor swift, madonna, rina sawayama (she loves LUCID. I know this in my heart to be true), dolly parton, david bowie, queen, meatloaf, the cure, the runaways, bikini kill, no doubt, hole, paramore, etc. ALSO I think her and will spend time together playing that game where you play music and take turns seeing how quickly they can guess the artist and/or song and/or album
lucas: similar to el, he's not genre picky, unlike her though, it's the lyrics of a song that decides whether he likes it. I feel like he likes a lot of those yearning songs of someone going on about how much they love their lover, so he likes ricky montgomery (SHE'S A SHE'S A LADY, AND I'M JUST A BOY), mitski (but he's like. casual about it. he's not crying to class of 2013 he just likes lines like "I know I've kissed you before, but I didn't do it right can I try again try again try again. he also likes her let's get married cover) hozier, you get the idea. i also HAVE TO assign him "kiss goodnight" by idkhow but they found me enjoyer. that is just. THEE love song. also likes sunflower by post malone. sorry king I'm projecting. anyway, he also probably just likes a lot of the music max likes, she's probably gotten him to be a casual taylor swift enjoyer if we're being completely honest. he's also definitely someone who pays attention to what someone says their favorite song is and then he listens to it and pays attention to the lyrics to figure out why they connect with it
dustin: canonically wore a weird al t shirt. this guy definitely likes parody music, nerd music, and also apparently polka. I just know he loves the star wars bad lip reading songs. so true king. bushes of love is top tier, there IS a chicken duck woman thing waiting for us. he also likes never ending story, so he probably likes soundtracks and songs from sci fi and fantasy movies/tv shows. debating on whether or not this extends to disney musical enjoyer.
jonathan: has a canonical music taste, which is rock, I feel like he's a bit more Loner™ about it than will is though. (I'm a CREEP, I'm a WEIRDO, what the hell am I doing hereeee), artists are the clash, david bowie, queen, talking heads, radiohead, tame impala, etc. he's definitely the most hardcore music snob around though. absolutely has a superiority complex about it. love that for him
nancy: so I think she likes pop, and like, mainstream rock/classic rock music. so she listens to like, blondie and cyndi lauper, florence + the machine, some taylor swift, pat benatar, and then she also listens to some more popular songs by fall out boy, paramore, meatloaf, bon jovi, billy joel, etc. sorry girl this is looking like my mom's music taste with the occasional modern artist thrown in. oh also I think she'd like early marina (an electra heart stan to her death) and, like mike, lorde! however unlike mike she actually does really like solar power. also I think her and mike would hate to find out that they have that artist in common, but luckily they don't share any of their interests with each other so they don't know that
robin: riot grrrl listener! she bonds with el over this and also being a lesbian! however I think she also likes folk indie/folk punk, and had an emo phase. (not necessarily in aesthetic, just music taste), so artists would be bikini kill, hole, the runaways, the crane wives, the amazing devil, hozier, first aid kit, mcr, fall out boy, paramore, all time low, etc. also I feel like she'd like narrative songs/albums. sorry for pulling that one out again. she's an ethel cain listener. also vibes alone I think she'd like florence + the machine
steve: so I feel like it's damn near canon that steve listens to tears for fears, abba, and wham!, and I can't really argue with that, he likes pop music. however, I think that's mostly from a lack of exposure to other stuff, not that he'd ever not love pop or that showing him rock music would make him suddenly super alt, but I feel like if you played something other than the top 40 around him he'd be willing to listen to it and maybe even find something he likes, so he's ok with the kids playing their own music in his car
eddie: has a canonical music taste obviously! but a thing I've noticed with metal fans is that they're usually metal fans for the instrumentals. they're not usually in it for lyrics or vocals, although that can be a bonus, they're in it for aesthetics and a sick guitar riff, so while he's obviously mostly a metal loyalist, he has appreciation for songs with really interesting instrumentals. I think he'd bond with max over some of the instrumentals in her experimental pop songs, he's absolutely willing to admit that rina sawayama did metallica justice with her enter sandman cover
