SKZ's reaction to your death ver. maknae line
hyung line (please pay attention to this work, I tried 😿)
It pains me to write this work, my heart breaks and I begin to believe in this nonsense... BUT REMEMBER THAT ONLY PERSONALITIES ARE TAKEN FROM THE REAL SKZ, EVERYTHING REST IS FICTION!
Mentions of explosions, drugs, addictions, fatal diseases, a lot of tears, fatal diseases . ANGST.
Tumblr media
Han Jisung
Tumblr media
He begged you not to go, because he had a nightmare where you died.
You just laughed it off and kissed Jisung on the cheek, what could have happened?
He literally knew this would happen.
He calls Changbin: “The company building Y/N was in was blown up.”
He knew.
He felt nothing, complete emptiness.
His hands were shaking madly, he wanted to disappear.
Your body was not found, perhaps it was torn to pieces.
An empty coffin was buried, it's so scary.
The feeling of your morning kiss is still on his cheek. You promised him to come in the evening and watch new episodes of anime.
But you'll never come back again.
He dreams about you, but he wants more.
Yes, he will start taking drugs to prolong the effect of your presence.
Members will notice this only over time.
Minho and Hyunjin dragged Jisung to psychotherapist and addiction specialists while the other members cleared out Jisung's room.
You are no longer in his room, there is nothing connected with you there anymore.
“Jisung, Y/N wouldn’t like it that you became a drug addict.”
"There is no more Y/N, which means I don’t care about myself."
His eyes are full of pain, he hasn’t cried since your death, the tears just won’t come.
"It's like I died with her"
"Bro, you need to move on with your life for her sake, she would want that."
"What's the point if it doesn't exist?"
"You're destroying yourself"
Jisung doesn't care.
He walks a lot, he doesn't eat and he writes a lot, he wrote so many lyrics.
Felix spoon feeding Jisung is so wrong.
He needs to learn to take care of himself.
No one else will be as caring as you.
Han Jisung will never cry, because he sees you regularly, he practically doesn’t miss you anymore.
After a while he will return to drugs again, it just hurts him. he misses.
And again he will go to a narcologist and psychotherapist.
And again, again, again. It's a vicious circle.
He doesn’t want you to leave, stay with him some more. He can't handle it.
Lee Felix
Tumblr media
"You are very beautiful today, Y/n"
"Lixie, I feel worse every day... don't say that."
"But you are so beautiful..we will get out together"
He lied, you won't get out. He lied to you and himself.
He forbade the doctors to tell you about your condition. Everything was handed over to him personally.
He knew you didn't have much time left.
On your last day, he baked you your favorite cookies, as if he felt that you would leave him.
He wasn't ready.
Late in the evening, he fed you cookies and read your favorite book, you squeezed his hand tightly.
"Felix, I love you very much...you are my happiness, freckle"
Your last words. The sun has gone out, the world is falling apart.
Changbin and Minho led him out of the room; other participants were already waiting in the corridor.
It was so painful and empty, as if happiness had disappeared. You disappeared.
He returned to the dorm, his request to return to your apartment was refused.
You refused to be hospitalized until the very end, but Felix still managed to drag you to the hospital. You even felt better.
He was lying on his back in a cold bed, it was cold without you.
This will be his first birthday without you.
He doesn't want to celebrate it.
Your stuffed animal was lying on his bed, he held it tightly in his hands.
It hurt, he was all alone now.
This will go on for several weeks. Felix doesn't remember anything, like stills from a movie.
Members constantly come to see him.
He pretends to live, and is even happy that it’s his birthday. His first birthday without your presence.
He doesn't want it that way.
"Felix, let's go, you need to take a walk."
Chan lifted Felix out of bed, washed him, changed him and fed him. Felix is so grateful to Chan.
Chan drove Felix to your apartment, he said he would pick Felix up later.
Everywhere there was the smell of you and your love, on the table there was food for Felix and the usual note. The bed is rumpled.
He fell to his knees, tears streaming down his cheeks. it absolutely hurt, he felt nothing but pain.
For some reason, for the first time he felt so painful and sad. In general, Felix is very vulnerable, but...
He never imagined how he would cry over the loss of someone.
He couldn't even contact your family.
You had no family or friends; you were abandoned as a child. Felix and SKZ were the only people close to you.
You never really wanted to tell Felix about your family, it was too painful to remember.
He so wanted to hug you, stroke your pretty cheeks and tell you that everything is good in this world. you have nothing to fear.
You loved it when he hugged you and smiled brightly.
He always lied.
He always lied and said that your condition was improving.
Did he regret that he lied? No
He was delaying the moment of death for you.
He put on your huge sweater, your bright smell is on it. He loves this smell so much.
He loves you so much.
Loving people don't leave. stupid lie.
Why does it hurt so much? Why does it hurt so much to love someone?
Then Chan took him, Felix might feel better for a few days.
Felix will even appear at a fashion event.
But...
You will have to bury two coffins, he will die after you.
Felix realized that it was so stupid... it was stupid to live without you.
You will find him in the afterlife, right?
" Lee Felix 15.09.2000–08.10.202*"—"Lee Y/N 01.01.2000–08.09.202*"
Kim Seungmin
Tumblr media
You were strangled in an alley while returning home.
Kim didn't have time to meet you.
He blamed himself and only himself.
Your body was found only in the morning.
Pale suits you, dear.
Seungmin looked at you as usual, like you were the eighth wonder of the world...why did you go to that alley?
No, Seungmin never cries.
He did not ask for the support of his members or the support of his family, he will cope on his own, as always.
He will become closed and taciturn. The company won't even release a statement about his rest.
He will throw himself into his work, he will work day and night.
The members are too worried about his condition.
Seungmin doesn't feel anything anymore, he doesn't feel joy, sadness, or pain.
As if the body exists separately from him. Inside he is nobody.
He returns to your shared apartment only a few weeks later, his lips frozen: “Y/N, I’m home.”
But there was no one at home except him.
The apartment is dark and cold, it was so empty without you.
On the dresser he will find an envelope with a letter, you left him one every time when he returned late.
It said: “I love you very much, Kim Seungmin. Come to me in my dreams.”
This was not as usual, you had never written to him like this.
Everything that had accumulated over several weeks came out.
Seungmin hates crying, he never cries.
Tears flow limply down his face as he presses the paper to his chest.
You won't come back anymore, it's time to get used to it.
He will find your album with photos, he is so in love with you.
Then he will fall asleep and see you in his dreams for the first time. Thank you for coming.
then you told him to move on... but how to live without you?
For the first time, he felt unbearable pain and despair.
He will write songs about you, breathing you and living in the past.
Why does Kim Seungmin continue to live?
Yang Jeongin
Tumblr media
Baby, he killed you himself.
How did it happen?
"I could be a better boyfriend than him"
He was always very jealous of you, but to the point of killing you?
This is a terrible case.
Jeongin has no regrets, you're mine or nobody's
No one will know about this, it is disguised as an accident. What a pity.
Perhaps he will be bored.
He's so bored without you
A few times he will come to your grave, it's quite rude.
He keeps all your things with him, he will never be missed, you are nearby.
tell me why did you kill her?
“Jeongin, why don’t you miss her?”
"She is forever in my heart"
It's like he's lying.
"I killed her simply because I was so jealous." Pure confession
He might even cry to show that he misses you.
You don't want to look for it in the next life, a very cruel death at the hands of a loved one.
And Jeongin won’t look for anyone else, because he loves YOU.
Sometimes his conscience torments him, but he did it for the good.

Buck & Eddie: Eddie was M.I.A. and Buck was too.
The video above includes the scenes from S6 where Buck and Eddie were either missing or weren't mentioned even though they should have been.
During Season 6, Eddie was M.I.A. (missing in action) from several scenes even though he should have been present and Buck was either not mentioned or he was missing too even though he should have been present.
While I was watching 6x4 when it originally aired, I noticed Buck wasn’t on a call while the rest of the team was at work and as 6A progressed, it became a pattern.  For the duration of 6A and well into 6B, Buck’s or Eddie’s absences became even more noticeable and they were so prevalent that they were JARRING AND GLARINGLY OBVIOUS.  By the end of 6A, viewers were wondering what happened.  The showrunner (KR) said in an interview that they were trying new pairings which was fine but hindsight is usually 20/20 and when I started analyzing the scenes that didn’t include one of them, it kind of seemed like she may have been telling a half truth.  I mentioned how storylines and pairings were affected in a post I did in November 2022 but now I believe their absences or the lack of mentioning the other one was INTENTIONAL.
Buck and/or Eddie not being present bothered me and I wanted to know why but I didn’t research it until recently because of the way season 6 ended.  With the way TM (the OG showrunner) has been releasing and rereleasing photos of Buddie and Bathena for the last few weeks, I believed their absences in season 6 became too glaring for me to continue ignoring them.  For Buck and Eddie to be drastically removed from each other’s lives had to be on purpose and IMO, it was done so the audience would realize how them not being with each other didn’t make sense.  Let’s be real, regardless as to whether a viewer ships Buck and Eddie as a romantic couple, their presence in each other’s lives and the Buckley-Diaz family’s dynamic has become a staple on the show and when they’re not included, people notice.  Everyone knows how close they are so for them to be separated and viewers along with journalists writing about it was perplexing to say the least.
Before I delve into this, please understand these are MY OBSERVATIONS AND INTERPRETATIONS of the things I noticed during season 6, therefore, it’s ok if someone doesn’t agree.  Everyone interprets media differently so it’s ok for two differences of an opinion to coexist without someone trying to force their thoughts onto the other person.
Now back to our regularly scheduled programming.
I believe it all started with the scene below when Eddie asked, “Buck!  Where the hell you going?” because their absences started right after it and they continued through the early part of 6B.
Tumblr media
In 6x4, Buck was off work while Bobby, Chimney and Eddie were all at work but there was no explanation given as to why Buck was off.  Everyone knows Buck loves being at the firehouse especially since he filed a lawsuit to get back to the team after the ladder truck explosion (whether he was right or wrong in filing the lawsuit will not be discussed here.  It happened more than four years ago and I’ve moved on from it).  He wasn’t sick so it’s not like he used a sick day but maybe he used a personal day or he used some PTO time but either way, the audience wasn’t told why he wasn’t with the 118.
Tumblr media
He went to Hen’s house to discuss Connor's request for him to be his sperm donor but since she was on leave, no explanation was needed for why she wasn’t at work.  Reminder, Buck wasn’t on leave so he could have gone to her house to talk to her after their shift ended but he didn’t.  His absence was noticeable especially since at the beginning of the episode, he was sitting at the other end of the table alone and away from the group while Eddie, Chimney and Hen talked about Eddie disciplining Chris for skipping his science club meetings.
Tumblr media
In 6x5, Eddie took Hoover the dog to Buck’s loft but the audience didn't see it.  It was the only handoff that wasn't shown in CANON but the question is, why?  What was the issue with the audience seeing Eddie give Buck the dog ?  The only thing that makes narrative sense is they wanted viewers to not see it so they would notice.  Interesting!
Tumblr media
In 6x7, Eddie didn't mention Buck at all when he told Felisa about Chris being lost in the Tsunami but once again the question is why?  Everyone who watched 3x1-3x3 knows Eddie took Chris to visit "His Buck" that day and Eddie showed Hen and Chimney a selfie of Buck and Chris while they were on a call. In the photo, Buck and Chris were at breakfast earlier eating pancakes.  Also, after the first wave hit, we know Buck saved Chris and they got separated so Eddie’s scene with Felisa was another glaringly obvious one where Buck wasn’t mentioned and it had to have been done for a reason.  Reminder, Eddie told Felisa “My wife died… and six months later my son was on the pier when the Tsunami hit.”  Well, Chris wasn’t there alone so 👀.
Tumblr media
In 6x8, Buck was missing when Eddie and Chris were getting ready for Chris' first school dance. Carla was there but it was kind of off putting and it seemed like she shouldn’t have been the one Eddie was talking to the same way she shouldn’t have been talking to him in 5x10 when he was preparing to leave the 118.  If they didn’t want Buck there, then it could have easily been a father and son moment between Eddie and Chris especially since she didn't do anything but say she thought it was Chris' first crush after they went into the kitchen.  It was only one of the two episodes she was in for the entire season, so what gives?
Tumblr media
Later in the episode, Eddie ended up telling Buck and the 118 about it anyway and based on Buck’s reaction, it's likely Chris had already told Buck about his crush (post linked here).
Tumblr media
In 6x10, Eddie was present and at the firehouse while Buck and Chimney cleaned the fire engine and the ladder truck.  He was on the floor throwing a baseball with Hen.
Tumblr media
But Eddie was missing from the call when a lightning strike hit the car and the woman gave birth but reminder, the scene happened after he was AT THE FIREHOUSE with everyone else.   It's possible he could have been man behind but the point is he was missing.  Also, why was he missing?  Buck helped Bobby with the baby and Bobby had to call Hen and Chimney over for assistance which means Eddie’s help as a medic was needed for all three victims but it was kind of like the show wanted him to be absent so the viewers would notice and we did.
Tumblr media
In 6x11, Eddie was only in Buck’s coma dream at the beginning when Daniel told him the next time he goes up a ladder, he should have someone to have his back and Buck said he did.  Other than that initial interaction, Eddie WASN'T there and his absence was glaringly obvious.
Tumblr media
In 6x13, Eddie was M.I.A. twice. The first time was after a call that he went to with Buck and Hen.  It was the one where the couple misplaced a "toy".
Tumblr media
Chimney wasn't on the call with them but when they were leaving work and Buck was calling all the women he slept with to see if he satisfied them (which was 🙄 I don’t even have words), Eddie wasn't there but Chimney was.  But the question once again is why? Could it be the show was making a point since Buck had just had a conversation with a victim’s husband about an article he read that stated 80% of women aren’t satisfied by their partners (related post about Buck’s woodworking skills linked here)?
Tumblr media
In 6x13, Eddie wasn’t at the loft while Buck and Chris were baking cookies and it appears to be a call back to 5x3 when AF was caring for Chris during the blackout (related post linked here).  Reminder, AF left a mess in Eddie’s kitchen but Buck’s kitchen was clean and organized while him and Chris were baking cookies for Chris’ whole class.  They even talked about cooking the steaks Buck and Eddie won while they played poker for dinner.
What was the reason for all of this?
Initially I, like many others was pissed at the lack of Buck and Eddie, Buck, Eddie and Chris and Buckley-Diaz Family scenes in 6A.  I’m still annoyed by it but like I mentioned above, hindsight is 20/20 so it’s possible the show was trying to get the audience to realize how important they are in each other’s lives by omitting them from specific and important scenes.
Did they do a good job of illustrating it?  NO!
They could have done it differently like a lot of other things but the season ended messily and by then it was too late to change it.
The point of this post is whenever Buck and Eddie are absent, it's noticeable and it can't be denied.  KR said they were mixing up the dynamics (related post linked here) but that can't be it because in 6x9 Hen ended up talking to her best friend Chimney about the way she was feeling about Denny wanting to meet Nathaniel after Eddie and Buck dropped off their four-way call, so she wasn't telling the whole truth.
Could their absences be a coincidence? No. Why?
Because in 6x7 Athena said she didn't believe in them and in 5x17 Karen said once is a mistake, two times is a coincidence and three times is a pattern.  Well, their absences happened more than three times so Buck and Eddie missing in action from each other's lives was a pattern in season 6 and it seems to have been done on purpose.
It appears the omittances of Buck and Eddie from specific scenes in season 6 was in preparation for season 7 but the question is, will anything come of them?  Who knows except for the showrunner (TM), the writers, producers and the actors and actresses so we shall see.

Okay so when I watched The Solitary Clone the first time, I thought that 'Crosshair shoots Governor Ames because of Cody being threatened, not out of loyalty to the Empire' was just a possibly viable reading of the scene but honestly the more I think about it the harder time I have thinking it's not the most obvious reading.
Because we have this exact setup in season one episode three. Crosshair has been ordered to execute anyone that doesn't have use to the Empire and he does it swiftly and with zero hesitation or mercy for those that wouldn't obey.
The lady that refuses to give information? Doesn't even get to finish her sentence. The civilians? They don't have any information so time to off them. The one guy that steps up and says that they can't do this? Bam, gone.
Of course, he likely had his chip at this point, so there was extra efficiency to it, but the difference between Replacements and Solitary Clone is... way too much for him to be dechipped but still acting primarily out of loyalty to the Empire.
He misses SEVERAL opportunities to shoot the Governor. He had preexisting orders to do whatever it takes to secure the city, so he already basically had orders to kill her walking into the room and we know he can do it regardless of her having a hostage. We have seen what he can do with a gun all episode, the Imperial would have been fine, no question. But he lets Cody do his thing, he lowers his gun. First opportunity missed.
Negotiation ensues. She lets the Imperial Governor go. Second opportunity missed, if he was following orders blindly he could have shot her here under Rampart's orders the instant the Imperial was clear. Rampart outranks Cody, his orders would take precedence and there was now no threat to the officer.
But he doesn't. So okay, now the Imperial Governor gives his order. "Nicely handled. Now execute her." Cody hesitates. Crosshair just stands there. Third opportunity missed to blindly follow orders, both in not taking the shot AND in not lashing out at or even arguing with Cody. So we continue.
"Sir, I promised a peaceful…" "You did. I didn't. Now execute her!"
Another chance to follow orders, because Cody is lingering right here. Nothing. Fourth opportunity missed.
I gave you an order. Follow it, or face the consequences for diso- [blaster fires]
And now we have it. Fifth opportunity taken, Crosshair takes the shot while Cody is being threatened with the consequences for disobedience. Crosshair knows what the consequences are, he fucking dished them out personally last season. We have a reason for why he might have shot here, with clear implications through the dialogue.
But arguing from the other side, that he shot simply because he's following orders... what reason did he have not to take the shot earlier? Just counting from when she let the Imperial officer go, it was a full 31 seconds before he took the shot. Counting from entering the room, he had two and a half minutes to take that shot. So if he is just loyal to the Empire and following his orders... why?
I honestly have tried to think of one because I like looking at all the potential angles and I genuinely can't think of anything. I don't think that there's any possible motivation that makes more sense than him doing it to protect Cody.
If it was just to give Cody more time to shine, okay - have Crosshair shoot on "I gave you an order" and the timing is almost exactly the same with completely different implications. That would imply that he finally chose loyalty to the Empire over anything else. This episode is too cleanly written for them not to be aware of exactly what they're implying by having him wait until Cody was threatened.

im really glad people are finally talking about their critiques of helluva boss on youtube instead of just praising so i wanted to say thank you for being honest!! i know some people are afraid to critique the show cuz of the fanbase n that sucks :( oh btw!! what were your thoughts on Western Energy :0?
Yeah the fandom (and the critics too honestly) have all gotten really out of hand. The fandom is very very toxic.
Since I announced in my comments section that I'm probably gonna wait until the end of Helluva Boss season 2 to review the remaining episodes for it in succession, I may as well schpeel my thoughts on Western Energy. And boy howdy do I have... a lot of them ~~~
What the f_ck. WHAT did they do to my boy Striker
Striker in Harvest Moon: A secret assassin working as a farmhand who knew Stolas was going to appear conveniently in his own isolated ring of Wrath for the Harvest Moon. (where there are imps aplenty participating in the pain games; who hate the Goetia so there would be too many people to investigate for Stolas' murder so he could get off scot-free) Striker hides in a room with an angelic sniper rifle set up a street down, where he can make a quick getaway and no one will even see him. A quick, easy, clean kill.
Striker in f_cking Western Energy: CRASHES THROUGH A WINDOW OF A PUBLIC UPSTANDING CAFE WHERE OTHER GOETIA ARE DINING and starts FIRING ANGELIC BULLETS AT RANDOM; EVERYONE CAN SEE HIS FACE, THERE ARE SEVERAL WITNESSES. He even manages to capture Stolas via rope. AND THEN FUCKING DRAGS HIM VIA HORSEBACK ALL THE WAY TO THE RING OF WRATH TO TORTURE HIM BEFORE K_LLING HIM????? FUCKING EXCUSE ME? WHO IS THIS??!!! This was completely pointless. It was padding. Time wasting. In season one, Stella was pissed that Striker didn't shoot Stolas on sight. She wanted him dead and she wanted him dead NOW for cheating on her. She was ANGRY. She was out for blood.
In this episode, Striker says Stella asked him to give Stolas the "royal treatment" which goes against what she wanted in season 1. It actually goes against what she wanted at the start of this episode too! Striker literally busts into the cafe and starts firing bullets, nearly insta-killing Stolas right then and there had he not dodged. Striker tying him up and hauling him away is so illogical. It makes no sense. Stolas should have been shot dead in that alleyway. This was pathetic. At the end of the episode, there's a huge media circus for Stolas being hospitalized which is really weird because how they hell did they know? I guess Moxie and Millie called the hospital ahead of time, but I don't think the news would spread THAT fast. If anything, its ridiculous for Stolas to call Blitz and request help. Dude wtf did these two learn nothing? Stolas has gone right back to taking advantage of the situation for his fckin knight in shining armor fantasy play. and then like, after the call, Stolas is all "Oh shit, am I in danger?" LIKE HELLO? FCKING ??? YOU JSUT DODGED ANGELIC BULLETS AT THE CAFE?! YOU KNEW IT WOULD KILL YOU! BRUH?! OF COURSE YOU'RE IN DANGER YOU KNOW YOU'RE IN DANGER WHTKASFHKRDGJLlkdg Anyway, as CONSEQUENCES for Striker attacking a high-class Goetia in a public cafe with several witnesses, the news reporters should have swarmed the place. Striker's identity should have been revealed to the world as a prime suspect for the attempted murder and kidnapping of a Goetia. Stolas would be missing and Striker would be wanted. Blitz should have seen this on tv at the hospital with Loona. That would make the most sense. It would keep the drama going. The serious tone of the episode. The news station reporters wouldn't have appeared out of nowhere at the end of the episode; we would have expected them because they've been following this story all day now.
Striker getting this whole song about he's a cruel conniving almost well-known assassin with an evil lair in the mountains as though this is a folk tale song like everyone knows about him... when he was so secretive and Millie's family didn't know he was an assassin before they hired him.... and his ........... statue of himself what the actual f_ck Striker isn't Chazz. Striker is arrogant, but he's not promiscuously arrogant. He only takes pride in his farmhand work and assassin work. Not whatever the hell.... this is. This is a gross misrepresentation of his character.
Stella in season 1 was pissed Stolas cheated on her and was so angry with rage she wanted him killed immediately. In this episode, she's like teehee yeah I hired an assassin :P like its a fcking joke? Like its a silly game to her? This wasn't a game. Andre (shortening her brother's name) talks to her about inheritance and says she will get nothing if Stolas dies; which I thought he was convincing Stella to call off the assassination because otherwise it would all go to Octavia (who apparently is of legal age to inherit everything over her mother) Because of Stella and Stolas divorced, typically, its supposed to be 50/50 regardless of inheritance of the children. Andre says Stolas' duties, possessions, and his legions will all pass to Octavia. What? Stella has never been interested in the book. Octavia is the one who seems like she was taught by her father the star spells, so yeah, probably gonna inherit the book duties. Stella apparently throws parties... she's never been seen doing actual Goetia duties though. So she probably wouldn't want his duties anyway; they'd be inconvenient for this "childish spoiled brat" Viv is ... sigh, currently trying to portray of her. Stolas already gave away most of his possessions to Blitzo 25 years ago. Granted, he probably accumulated more. But still. And legions? Excuse me? Does Stolas have an army, or are you talking about imp butlers? Those guys are cheap and aplenty. and Stella has money. She even offers Striker more money to bring Stolas back alive. As for negotiations, the only way Stella could get anything out of Stolas is if she threatened Octavia or Blitz, and I don't see her actually doing that. So I don't know wtf they think was gonna happen if Striker brought Stolas back alive. He wasn't gonna budge on shit. The Goetia inc*st is disgustingly unnecessary. Especially because Stella is treated like a dumb whining child while Andre is the one comforting and coaching her like ...... he even calls her a stupid cow....and she seems uncomfortable with his advances like what the actual hell is this. Why did we need inc*st here
Loona's voice actor lost her boyfriend to cancer... (really upsetting so sorry this happened) so Loona's voice has been missing for the past two episodes (respectfully), but you know, I actually laughed really hard at Loona this episode. It's great that she's dead quiet throughout, it wouldn't have been as funny otherwise. So hey, fun simple B plot! That being said though... while this Loona gets her shot is a funny B plot, it does not belong in this episode. We go from serious torture and fight scenes to Loona and Blitz shenanigans. The tone shifts are very wrong. This B plot should have been in a different episode. Not this one. The B plot though isn't without its nonsense, though. The lady at the desk is like "I can't read or spell" and then literally a few seconds later she CAN suddenly read. Like what? What is this dialogue? Its unfunny padding, stick to a joke. What's even more frustrating to me is that the potential social commentary is a complete miss. The hospital is in sloth and the shot wait list is 5 years. Is Viv making fun of hospitals for being slow? For why appointments have to be made several months in the future? What??? Doctors aren't lazy?! They're LITERALLY OVERWHELMED WITH CLIENTS. THEY ARE BUSTING THEIR ASSES EVERY DAY WITH PEOPLE! THEY DO NOTHING BUT WORK WORK WORK!!! Hospitals belong in the greed ring!!!!????? for the sheer ridiculous amount of charges and expenses! Especially because the medicine industry is PRIVATIZED! AND HEAVILY CAPITALIZED! Huge missed opportunity on social commentary. Disappointing.
Millie and Moxie I guess go deal with Striker because they have unfinished business which you know I guess is nice but... I feel like Blitz is usually the one to save Stolas... Moxie and Millie should have had a different set up to confront Striker, because them being put in charge defeating an assassin that almost killed not only them both but also Stolas... like why would Blitz trust them? They failed last time. He seems so unconcerned.
Also Millie puts a random hat on Moxie's head at the beginning. It's apparently a point of contention. Some random fckin guy comes up to Moxie and gets mad they're wearing the "same hat". Why the hell is the hat a point of contention?! Why isn't it just a random fashion choice for the "western energy" aesthetic the episode was going for? And Moxie actually beats the hell out of this gang?! Excuse me what? He was a damsel in distress last episode!? Moxie is a twink! It's been established he can't wrestle or fight with his fists!? Since when is he suddenly a strong badass????? What is this inconsistency!?
The tiny imp mariachi band, they're actually adorable. Love their designs despite their poor story-written Striker song. Wish I could see more of those fellas!
ALso forgot to mention, Striker has a new voice actor. Bosco does a great job. I'll miss his previous voice actor, he was so good, but you know... word is, Viv completely blew her budget on hiring him. Viv can no longer, or rather, was never really able to afford Norman Reedus. Sad to see him go, but you know... Striker isn't the same Striker from season 1 anyway. All the characters have changed in season 2. So I think its nice Norman Reedus got to voice act for the good episode time period.
Striker torturing Stolas and Stolas turning it s_xual... this is a trend Viv is doing and I don't know if she even realizes it. "Characters get tortured and make it sexual to try and weird out their captor" and "Character gets sad looking at pictures full of context that slide by the screen way too fast" are some of her favorite tropes apparently. That being said though I'm lowkey concerned. Striker breaks his fcking leg and Stolas says "Blitz is rougher in bed"? Excuse me? I know maybe there's pain play or Stolas has healing abilities and pain tolerance but like???? Is Blitz?? Fucking breaking his bones and stabbing him in bed?! JFC? What is this relationship????? I've grown very concerned. Speaking of that fav trope of Viv's, when Moxie shows up and gets choked by Striker, he smiles and says "harder" like Angel Dust did in the pilot of Hazbin. Striker recoils in disgust, LETTING HIM GO? That doesn't warrant Striker letting go?! Striker has a giant b_ner statue of himself, his entire pain game competition with Blitz- them rough housing and enjoying it-, and Stolas was talking dirty the entire time he was getting tortured. I know Moxie of all people saying this is supposed to be shocking since he's not the type to say this, but like?? Striker shouldn't have been as weirded out by this ?!
Anyway oH MY
GOD I LOVED the Millie & Moxie vs Striker fight scene holy shit its SO GOOD?! Who did the choreography?! The car flip, revealing Moxie aiming directly at Striker, Striker dodging, spinning the knife then expertly throwing it into Moxie's gun... the gun shot activating the radio in the layer, "watcha thinkin' bout now?" a perfect fitting song for the western vibe and a great beat for this fight?! Striker TAPPING HIS FOOT TO THE BEAT , AND THEN CRACKING HIS NECK WITH A DEVILISH SMIRK, PREPARING AND WAITING FOR MOXIE AND MILLIE TO MAKE THE NEXT MOVE? Spinning his dual angel GUNS?! NOW THIS IS THE STRIKER I KNOW AND LOVE! HELLO THERE SIR!
And Moxie and Millie acting like the Bonnie and Clyde duo, where Millie is the close range blades expert while Moxie is the long range gun expert, both acting as offense and defense for each other, circling around Striker , taking him on together while he takes them both on at once? Since they know he's over come them individually before, but together? Man this is.... molten gold, beautiful ...and then its ruined when the song gets changed to a crappy unfitting pop song... ..... sigh, thanks, Viv ..
Anyway back to epic fight scene... Striker shooting, back flipping away from Millie's axe... Moxie coming in for a kick and then Millie coming in to block the gun shot with her axe, protecting Moxie omygod I love this... Moxie immediately going in for the shot.... HOO THIS IS SOME GOOD SHIT
Striker's guns get cut so he grabs his lasso and slams a rock into Millie, SEPARATING the two, an excellent tactic... Striker uses his lasso and twangs off the bendy axe handle to get up onto higher ground to get the advantage- GRABBING MILLIE'S AXE WITH HIS FRICKEN TAIL??? aND HURLING IT AT HER HOLY SHIT GIRL ALMOST DIES Ey! She's not invincible, thank goodness??? Its refreshing seeing her and moxie a little bit more on par this episode. Both having weaknesses and strengths instead of Moxie always being the weak damsel in distress and Millie being the ridiculous OP wife Anyway Millie almost dies and its a wild shot, her OWN AXE almost cuts her head from her body like WOW! AND then sTRIKER AND THEN STRIEKR RRRR He snaps his fingers, sighs and tutts with disappointment, but still SMILES like a "damn it, missed... I'll get her next time" LIKE ??? THAT'S SO GOOD ?? SO IN CHARACTER? SO CHARMING? SO CHARISMATIC? I don't know why but I laughed SO HARD at Moxie screaming "YOU COWBOY PIECE OF SHIT!" It was so funny in Richard's voice, so funny and weirdly personal over cowboys lol , loved that
Striker's..... stupid ugly statue falls on him, but it's shown he's escaped.
and then Stolas is brought to the hospital; and then Moxie and Millie inform Blitz that Stolas got hurt
and the dumbest line of the episode: "He can get hurt?" YES??????????? Yes he can??? You know he can get hurt? HELLO? Why did you stop Striker???!!! Moxie knew Striker had an angelic weapon and Blitz must have been suspicious of Striker and followed him, found him ready to kill Stolas?! Even offered a deal??? A partnership to kill Stolas?! MOXIE LITERALLY STOLE STRIKER'S FCKING ANGELIC RIFLE. WHERE THE FCK DID THAT GO? DID IT BLIP OUT OF EXISTENCE? OF COURSE STOLAS CAN GET HURT SDKGJDFLKJGLDFKJLGJ BRUH
WHAT IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW This is like such a shocking moment to Blitz its so dumb of course he cant get hurt i swear to - sIGH
and then we have more nonsense. You know how everyone was complaining about Blitz and Stolas in the Seeing Star episode? Acting like nothing happened between them at Ozzies? Like they didnt have this weird break-up reality check? Guess what. It's "addressed". Off-screen. Via text messages. And double guess what? The text messages are empty. They say absolutely nothing.
Stolas is like "Hey I'm sorry if I did anything to upset you last night" Blitz: "Whatever" Stolas: *Long paragraph about how he noticed Blitz was upset* "Asmodeous can be very invasive in humor, but I thought it was pretty funny myself" NO HE FUCKING DIDNT? STOLAS WAS SO UNCOMFORTABLE??? Is this like a weird lie to cover up his discomfort or something stupid like ???? bruh??? "I enjoy being the subject of jest, you can come over and make fun of me"
Blitz: "sure" ????????????????? What is this????? They arent talking at all! It's just Stolas rambling worrisome nonsense and Blitz being emotionally stunted and not talking back! and then in seeing stars the texts are like "thanks for helping with Via! We don't have to bang. you can keep the book if you want. Or we can just hang out!" and blitz is like "whatever im busy" Blitz types "get better soon :(" to Stolas and Stolas is like "thank you, come visit me!" and Blitz doesn't respond.
Rose petals are slowly falling off in the background, as Stolas waits for a reply that never comes. He finally sets down his phone. I think this is supposed to be like weirdly symbolic, a "he loves me, he loves me not" and when all the petals are gone and Stolas puts down his phone, probably finally giving up his crush on Blitz realizing Blitz doesn't like him back and will probably give Blitz those crystals to get his book back. Blitz and Stolas' relationship has turned so sour and weird in season 2. It's such an unhealthy relationship. Like it wasn't great in season 1 either but season 2 the context makes it far worse. Blitz has been using this guy for decades and its just being romanticized.
Tumblr media
Also tho..... Stolas is surrounded by get-well bouquets? Who sent these to him???? He has no friends! The Goetias think he's pathetic... the imps and lower class hate his ass..... like ... did weird rabid fans send them??? Where did these come from!! Anyway, if Stolas doesn't rant to the media that his own wife tried to have him killed, exposing the domestic drama going on in his home, I'm gonna throw a fit. This is his perfect opportunity to finalize his divorce. Sure, he could risk putting his "cheating" with Blitz into the spot light but like... people already know about that so ??? All the more proof to stack against Stella? That she's out for revenge? This is a scoop! Hell would be eating out of the palm of his hand! There's also weird compositing in this episode. Why are these scenes composited??????? These aren't dramatic serious scenes! This is the silly B plot!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also the Striker statue falling... is just a flat png skdgjlfkgj whats going on with the budget of this episode
This ep was ridiculous. But Moxie and Millie vs Striker genuinely had me smiling and excited. I miss when this show actually had me interested....

Lore Olympus Episode 251 Spoilers
"Yet in spite of everything, [...] look at the man you've become."
You mean, a slave driver, an abusive dipshit and a horrible parent. Yeah, that's not the best argument, Persie.
I find it funny how LO often goes out of his way to have characters assure Hades that he's nothing like Kronos, but honestly? Hades is extremely similar to Kronos. Uncomfortably so.
They were both lonely and filled that void with women much younger than them, whom they were also in a position of power over, Kronos with Hera and Hades with Minthe and then Persephone.
Both like to play victim. Kronos loves to guilt-trip Hera for deceiving him and ignores that his actions would most certainly have doomed the world and Hera and the other Six Traitors had basically no choice but to fight back by any means necessary. Hades frequently whines to Persephone and others about how he feels oh-so-lonely and oh-so-isolated as King of the Underworld, ignoring that he himself is a huge reason for why other immortals percieve him as scary and unapproachable. He's constantly intimidating and bullying people with both his status and his money, see him threatening that one poor nymph with closing her business if she didn't give him private information about Persephone or him constantly antagonizing Demeter for no reason.
They're both tyrants. Kronos is self-explanatory. Hades is downright proud of exploiting the shades who come to the Underworld. He literally brags about making them perform unpaid labor. Hades also seemingly doesn't give a rat's ass about his people. He threatens both his employees and regular citizens on a daily basis. The only person in the Underworld he shows a modicum of care towards is Hecate and that's only becaus she's a long-time friend of his. And also because she actively enables all the shit named above. If you wanna cheat you could say that extends to Persephone, since she's also officially a citizen of the Underworld, but let's be real here, that's only because he's in love with her. I sincerely doubt Hades would put up an embargo and show up at a trial as the lawyer if any other citizen of the Underworld was being unfairly persecuted by Zeus.
Both Kronos and Hades are horrible parents. Kronos ate all of his sons alive but one and the only reason he didn't eat Zeus was because Rhea was wise enough to hide him away. Hades emotionally abused and neglected Thanatos for all his life, didn't show concern when Thanatos was M.I.A and when confronted by Thanatos over being a shitty father, instead of apologizing or showing anything even resembling remorse, he instead made excuses about how Thanatos wasn't throwing himself into his arms eager to be fathered after his own mother gave him up into child labor. I've said it before but I'm genuinely afraid for Dionysus, Hades isn't father material and I'm positive he'll repeat the same neglectful bullshit he pulled with Thanatos.
"There were times in the last few years of my life where I felt truly hopeless."
Sure would've been nice if we could've seen those times instead of time-skipping right over them. Persephone keeps talking about how hard the years in the Mortal Realm were, but all evidence we've had of that were her hands going green. And even that's gone now.
"But then I thought about you and [...] your capacity for love despite all the cruelty you faced."
Excuse me, what????
Name one person in this goddamn Webtoon Hades was ever genuinely loving towards that wasn't someone he once fucked or wanted to fuck.
I see the child is only referred to as 'the interloper' now. I'm guessing RS doesn't want readers to think too hard about the fact that hxp have been doing fuck-all to save an endangered child for several episodes.
And we're officially going for the "Delusional Jealous Woman" route with Leuce it seems. RS' hatred for all women that aren't her self-insert is so palpable it hurts.
"I miss Minthe."
Me too, Thetis, me too.
I'm honestly scared of where this whole Kassandra/Apollo thing is going, I don't want any more Apollo woobifying.

Why do you think Lucy stayed with Chris after the whole trial prep thing? Personally I would've dumped him straight away
Oh, you and me both! I think Lucy is a bit like Tim in that regard : she doesn't know when to quit, even after realising that things aren't working. She always stayed in relationships that were past their expiration dates. Take her ex who cheated on her : she admitted she was only with him because she couldn't afford moving out. Then there was Nolan : she spent 4 episodes agonising over whether she should break up with him, before he beat her to it. No comment on Emmett… And even with Chris : it took her several days after her decision to actually dump him. There's clearly a pattern… Which is an interesting one for someone who has a history of commitment issues with her significant others.
So if I had to venture a guess, I'd say she stayed with Chris simply because she didn't want to be alone. She obviously cared for him, otherwise she wouldn't have been with him in the first place. But at that point, she was merely going with the flow and enjoying the companionship : she didn't necessarily agree with Chris, approve of everything he said/did but she also didn't think it was worth fighting over. Plus, pretty much all her friends were in steady relationships : Tim was with Ashley, Angela was married, Nyla was having a baby, Nolan was thinking of proposing… It can sometimes be lonely to be the only single person in a group (it's unclear how close to Aaron she was at the time). Add the facts that her best friend Jackson was gone, that she wasn't on speaking terms with her parents and it starts to pile up.
And finally, she just had to relive her trauma… I can see how she wasn't in the right emotional place for dumping her boyfriend, despite how he triggered her. Lucy sees the best in everyone… If she was ready to give him a chance after the way he treated her when they met, she might have thought his apology was sufficient. The thing is, she really needed a friend to confide to, to help her talk things through… and the only one present was Tamara. Only I doubt Lucy would have felt comfortable 'burdening' her with this. That's not their dynamic. This was one of the (many) times Jackson was sorely missed…

AI tries to explain: early Relena hatred
ChatGPT, explain why Relena Peacecraft of "Mobile Sit Gundam Wing" was falsely disliked by many fans in the early 2000s.
Relena Peacecraft, a central character in "Mobile Suit Gundam Wing," was indeed a polarizing figure among fans in the early 2000s and even when the series originally aired in the late 1990s. Several factors contributed to her initially negative reception: Initial Perceptions: At the beginning of the series, Relena comes across as a seemingly naive and idealistic character. Her initial persona as a sheltered pacifist and diplomat's daughter contrasted sharply with the Gundam pilots, who were more action-oriented and stoic. This contrast led some viewers to find her character annoying or out of place in a mecha anime.
For the early 2000s the truth is more shallow than that in that Relena is simply female and has a pink limo which upset a lot of ..."fans" who had never watched a single episode up to that point yet read loads and loads of fanfics and were suddenly confronted with the fact that Heero was not star-crossed lovers with Duo but might actually be connected to the female protagonist.
The argument is certainly applicable to a lot of people who watched the series later though and crapped on Relena's character because missing the point on multiple occasions has become an Olympic discipline rather than actually paying attention to what is shown.
I mean, I get that most people let preconceptions and media tradition sway their interpretation (like Relena having a crush on the mysterious new guy at school being the reason she follows Heero to the harbor when the series itself gives plenty of hints she's doing it because Heero is shady af and she's suspicious of him) but when they then form a negative opinion on Wing that is completely baseless because they didn't understand plot points, it destroys their argument and makes them look silly. Especially when it is coupled with an air of superiority.
You wanna rip Gundam Wing to shreds? Go right ahead, bro, just please put some effort into it.
Contrast with Gundam Pilots: Relena's character was often juxtaposed with the more action-driven and complex Gundam pilots. Her early interactions with characters like Heero Yuy, who were dedicated to their mission and often displayed little emotion, created a perception that she was a hindrance to their objectives.
Oh my goodness, I have actually seen this argument in the wild. I had once gone through hate sites to compile a list of accusations people threw at Relena back in the rowdy days of Gundam Wing to compare to more recent takes (spoiler: not much has changed) and I came across stuff along the lines of Relena "getting in the way of everyone's missions, creating problems for Noin, Milliardo and the others and endangering them."
ChatGPT, you impress me with your blanket statements going in the right direction.
I take issue with "more action-driven and complex" though. Compared to Relena's complexity most Gundam pilots are as flat as a pancake. They all have their depth, mind you, but Relena has waaaay more stuff happening and a lot more character development.
Initial Helplessness: In the early episodes, Relena found herself in vulnerable situations and required rescue by the Gundam pilots. This portrayal of her as helpless or in need of saving added to the negative perception.
I guess we're back in fanfic land. Unless AI means the Cinq arc, but that's the late middle of the show and is a little more complicated than just that.
Shift in Character Development: Over time, Relena's character undergoes significant development. She evolves from a seemingly naive girl into a strong and independent character. Her journey towards becoming a more capable and determined individual was not immediately evident to some viewers who formed their opinions early in the series.
...This doesn't even make sense, neither in the context of the show nor as a general statement.
It is true that a lot of people like to form an early opinion of Relena they don't part with no matter how far into the show they get. In many cases it's a decidedly negative one and that colors their perspective and ruins their enjoyment of the show, especially during the Cinq arc because that one is all about Relena and I have seen people scream for those episodes to end during their watch. Which, not gonna lie, amused me since she's the female protagonist so it's a given she'd get a lot of screentime.
The main problem with the Cinq arc though is that many don't recognize Relena's genius in how she handled the whole situation. The Cinq arc isn't just Relena preaching pacifism to the world at the most inopportune time where Romefeller is razing cities to the ground with Mobile Dolls. It's a political move that presents an alternative to Romefeller who claim that peace can only be achieved through them and their military presence. Cue a bunch of pacifists showing up.
Cinq's fall was not a loss per se. Relena surrendered publicly, with the whole world watching, especially the colonies who manufactured Mobile Dolls for Romefeller at the time. You think following that Dermail made Relena Romefeller's head representative for funsies? She had backed him into a corner. He had lost public support, the peaceful colonies had witnessed what they had contributed to and even people inside Romefeller were starting to grumble about him. He was scrambling for damage control, forcing Relena's hand and desperate to build Libra to have a giant space laser that will keep people in line should they not obey him.
Crap later hits the fan for him when Relena turns the tables on him and the colonists take control of Libra.
Complex Morality: Relena's pacifist stance and commitment to peace are central to her character. Her ideological beliefs sometimes clashed with the actions of the Gundam pilots, leading to a moral dilemma in the story. Some fans may have initially disliked her character due to this moral tension.
Tumblr media
Such a pacifist.
Different Expectations: "Gundam Wing" is part of the wider "Gundam" franchise, known for its complex political and philosophical themes. Some fans may have had expectations for a more traditional mecha anime and found Relena's character and her focus on diplomacy and peace less appealing in comparison.
If this is AI talk for UC fans crapping on Relena because she isn't Sayla Mass and doesn't pilot anything then it's weird. By now there have been so many iterations of Gundam shows with the "princess" character not piloting a mobile suit (Relena, Kihel, Lacus, Marina, etc.) that no one watching Wing for the first time expects Relena to do so. Expectations for a mecha anime? Even watching The Vision of Escaflowne I never expected Hitomi to hop into a guymelef.
AI, what are you on?
Character Growth: As the series progresses, Relena's character becomes more relatable and her determination to create a peaceful world resonates with viewers. However, this character development took time to manifest and was not immediately evident in the early episodes.
You said that already. It didn't make sense the first time and it's not making sense now either. Who expects full character development in the first two episodes? ò_ô
It's important to note that over time, many fans came to appreciate Relena's character for her growth, complexity, and her role in exploring the series' themes of war, peace, and morality. She went from being disliked by some in the early episodes to becoming a more well-rounded and respected character by the end of the series. Viewer opinions about characters can often change as the story unfolds and characters undergo development.
Save the preaching.
The rest is correct mostly though. There are many out there who hated Relena when they first saw the show but found her tolerable to actually badass on a second rewatch after a couple of years had passed. It wasn't the end of the series though that made most people like her but Endless Waltz instead.
You still get an F for not mentioned rabid shippers at all, AI. That crap was an actual problem in this fandom. Thank Goodness that's over.

I don't really understand why you think that Carlos didn't outwardly blame TK in 4x03. He spent most of the episode being angry and glaring at him (even after Iris was rescued) - not to mention the "bad relationship" comment. He also basically confirmed it when TK asked if he thought it was his fault. It was all pretty pointedly directed at TK, no one else (except, you know, a suspect).
Okay, nonny, gonna be totally honest, I have not gone and rewatched the episode more than the times I watched it a week and a half ago now, so I'm going to go off of my memory and my theory of Carlos as a character as he's been expressed to us thus far. I'm also gonna need you to remind me of the "bad relationship" comment because I don't remember it. Was it in the car? It might have been in the car. I'm going to rewatch.
Carlos DID spend most of the episode angry, but he was really glaring at everyone that wasn't Iris IMO, from what I saw. He was skeptical of Detective Grier except when she played on his worst fears.
And let's talk about Carlos and what was happening in 4x03 and how it relates to his past and his present and his future.
So, several things:
One: This is not the first time Iris has gone missing, this is the second time. The first time Carlos thought she was dead for three years. She wasn't dead, she'd had a mental break due to schitzophrenia and was missing in Austin for three years, during which Carlos told Michelle to give up. There's a big wound that exists here with how Carlos accepted that she was in her right mind when she went missing and it (IMO part of the reason he didn't see her afterwards) because they'd already drifted apart by this point. Carlos didn't know her friends, he didn't know her life, he didn't know how odd things had gotten.
NOW, he's finally gotten back in touch with her, after guilt and other things likely kept him away and she's disappeared again. In fact, she's disappeared again IMMEDIATELY AFTER Carlos asked for something he needed. Carlos tends not to ask for his needs, like ever. And he asked Iris for this thing, and she's now missing. The level of guilt I am sure he felt after the detective told him that his wife went missing after he handed her divorce papers would have been massive.
We could see it on his face, weighing on him. It weighed on him in the interview with Grier in the apartment, and when TK admits that actually, he had gone to talk to Iris, but it was fine-- we would have hit another level of Carlos spiral.
Carlos is very used to handling everything himself. There is a level of perfectionism and control issues that cause Carlos to do everything himself. Like, this is a man who bought a whole ass house without telling TK as a surprise. He's also a man who has tried to finagle things. It was entirely growth to tell TK about Iris before the divorce was complete. I am certain there's a part of Carlos that immediately worried that by involving TK he had set off a chain of events that had inadvertently caused her to have another break.
Doesn't matter that Iris thought she was fine. Doesn't matter that TK thought she was fine. Last time Carlos and Michelle thought she was fine and she was found under a bridge.
We are also looking at a man who any time HE messes up for real, gets petty and starts projecting. Do I think he actually blamed TK? No. I think he blamed himself for involving a free radical like TK to offset the balance. I think he was so caught up in his own fears and his own decisions that he couldn't think past it.
And it's not the first time we've seen this from Carlos.
In 3.13, which is perhapse one of the most egregious levels of Carlos petty bitch moods, Carlos isn't mad at TK having a relationship with Cooper. Carlos is mad that someone else is able to provide acts of service to TK that are making him better and Carlos can't. Carlos's main act of things is acts of service. And he keeps trying to provide the services Cooper is providing and TK doesn't want them from him and Carlos feels not enough. So he's a petty fucking bitch to TK to the point that he doesn't make him food and is like "I thought Coop would feed you."
He does a similar move in 2x04 after the incident with his parents where he tries to gaslight TK into thinking the interaction WASN"T WEIRD. It was weird, you were talking about not being able to hold out for sex that long and how you and your boyfriend had sex in a honky tonk bathroom and then had a "This is my friend from work, TJ, who actually isn't a cop but a firefighter, Dad, don't be mad."
And TK wasn't wrong. But Carlos is both terrified that he's upset his parents with the existence of TK and that he's upset TK to the point of leaving. When TK does come back, Carlos has a very petty bitch moment of "Or did we break up already, because it felt like we did?" Because he's scared.
This is a common occurance all the way back to 1x02 when he calls TK crazy, but we know he knows he's being weird in 1x02 when he's like "I KNOW IT LOOKS LIKE A LOT BUT IT"S NOT BUT IT"S SUPER EASY IT"S JUST A FISH FROM THE FARMERS MARKET NO WORRIES< CHAMPAGNE?" and then when TK is like "This is a booty call. I am only up for booty calls right now" and Carlos then knows he's gone too far but he freaks out and tells TK he's acting crazy but he later tells Michelle he didn't ask TK out because he was worried about him running.
Whenever Carlos fucks up, or is worried he fucked up, he gets defensive and he gets petty and it's SO COMMON. It's just never been so glaringly projection until 3x13 and 4x03.
Also, narratively, the writers set TK up to feel guilty and worried so he didn't worry too much when Carlos didn't come home at first but wasn't immediately terrified when Carlos never respond. TK thinking Carlos is furious with him and isn't responding is the whole reason TK is wondering if he's over reacting with his worry or if he's thinking of doing the right thing in the ways he wants to make it up to Carlos or demand Carlos comes home.
Here's the thing. Carlos didn't leave the apartment in 4x03 or didn't come home later in 4x03 because he was mad at TK. He left the apartment and then didn't come home because he was searching for Iris. We saw it on the call where he showed up to the woman over the cliff fearing it was Iris and was immediately in a panic. When he tells TK he's staing with Iris, he's actually investigating the house again, and lets be real, he knows TK will tell him not to. He's so focused on uncovering what's going on with Iris, he's not paying attention to TK.
He's so lazer focused in the phone call with TK. He's just staring at the house the whole time and is distracted. I've got to rewatch it for the bad relationship comment. That's the one part I don't remember and I'll go back.
And I think, there is a justifiable thing to worry about your childhood best friend who is missing and maybe having another mental break and try and solve what's going on.
I do not feel that how TK was made to feel was fully intentional but it doesn't make it okay any more than his behavior in 3x13 was okay, or in 2x04 was okay or that 1x02 was okay. However, Carlos DOES fix it and change when he is wrong. He asks TK out on a real date. In 2x04 he apologizes and then gets to the point where he sets up a dinner with their families so that he can be boldly out after his dad confirms they know in 2x08. He calls Cooper and makes TK dinner and refuses to let TK say no in 3x13. In this case, Carlos was held captive by murderers, but his focus was still on keeping TK safe every time TK got close.
I think we'll see some progress from here, but that's my take. I understood if people took it other ways. I think we were supposed to be unsure, but I'd love to ask Rafa. He'd know.

Although it was so busy that I struggled to keep up with everything that was going on at times, I thought tonight's Casualty episode was generally very good! And the busy-ness was sort of the point, so I can get past that.
First and foremost: I LOVE Ngozi! So much so I felt the need to type "love" in all uppercase. I could see her very, very quickly becoming one of my favourite characters. She's brilliant. I adore her. I was already liking her in her first few scenes, and then there was that beautiful scene with her comforting the husband, and that almost made me cry. I hope the show does well by her for however long she's around - and I hope that's a long while - because her introduction has been so promising.
While I'm at it: can Faith leave and Ngozi gets her job? That would be great.
Jacob having so much to do at the start of the episode was nice, but it disappointed me that he seemed to be ignored after that. I think he gets a proper storyline next week, doesn't he? I hope it will be about him for once instead of immediately turning to be Iain-focused.
Goodbye, Ryan Firth, we hardly knew ye. I don't - didn't, I suppose - like Ryan. He was never as interesting as the rest of that friendship quartet: Rida and Jodie are fantastic, and I quite like Cam because he reminds me strongly of Arthur Digby.
Ryan was just a jerk most of the time, and felt like a very stereotypical portrayal of bi men - there's more variety to us than just "guy who wants to date everyone", Casualty! I'm not saying it's inherently wrong to have bi characters like that, I even like several bi characters that are like that; I'm just tired of them being written like "this is how bi men are, why would we write them any other way" and that's how I felt Ryan was written. Maybe at some point we can get another bi male character who's handled better. Or just let Dylan be bi. I'd say "or Max", but Max is presumably leaving very soon now so I don't have much hope for that.
I didn't like that Faith was in the episode at all, but at least she only appeared for a handful of scenes. Still, I'm just waiting on her to leave. Ryan's gone, and I shan't miss him. Charlie's going, and I shan't miss him either. It's just Faith that needs to leave now. I used her and Iain's scene as an excuse to do other stuff while I didn't need to focus any of my attention on the episode.
Jodie looked great tonight. I just wanted to acknowledge that - I loved the way her hair was styled, it looked so cool.
I'm glad Paige spoke up about the engagement. It was never a good idea, all things considered. I'm not sure how to feel about Teddy and Jodie kissing though. Mostly I'm just sadly longing for the days when I thought Teddy/Paige/Sah polyamory was going to happen. The love triangle - or love square now, I suppose - that's happened instead bores me.
I hate that Max's storyline has been so swept to the wayside. Any of the screentime that's been going to Faith could have gone to him. At this point I've just accepted that he will probably become another John Gaskell: no explanation of his backstory until a few lines at the last second before his storyline is over. At least with Max, his mum can come back again to explain his backstory properly someday, because I don't expect Max himself to do so at this point.
Next week: Jacob is in an episode again! Casualty is remembering he exists! The minimum is being achieved! I don't remember anything else I've read about next week, I just know Jacob's there.

My thoughts on episode 1 of Percy Jackson (spoilers below)
The Percy Jackson and the Olympians television series is finally here. In spite of nearly 25% of the characters bearing a strong resemblance to their book counterparts, everyone can agree that this is definitely a better adaptation than the 2010 film. However, I do have a couple of complaints and changes that I could have done for my own personal benefit or for the benefit of others:
All are labeled as spoilers, so take great caution.
Three Alternate Openings
Instead of Percy narrating the story in the cold open, I have three alternate openings that I think could have enhanced (or degraded) the story if they had taken place before he utters the iconic opening line: One romantic, one dramatic and the other a framing set up.
The romantic version shows how Sally and Poseidon first met instead of it being a flashback for the Montauk scene. It is a slow montage with no dialogue or sound effects, just music. The cinematography and mis-en-scene are high reminiscent to the opening of The Notebook, in which Sally and Poseidon are dark figures silhouetted against the red light of dawn, almost completely obscured. We see Sally walking up to the beach and Poseidon stepping out of the water, going on a boat ride and everything else we saw in the show. As the montage draws to a close, we finally get a good look at Sally seeing the Poseidon is gone and she is pregnant. We cut to her giving birth to Percy and her first line is her christening him. The music ends as the scene dissolves to 12 years later with Sally staring out the window of her apartment when Gabe calls her for his seven-bean dip. She responds, leaves the window and we pan all the way out towards Manhattan in the direction of the museum and then we hear Percy's opening monologue.
The dramatic version is a bit similar to the opening of the 20th Century Fox adaptation in which we get to see the Winter Solstice meeting with the gods. Everything is copasetic until Hermes tells everyone that the master bolt has been stolen. Zeus and Poseidon get into an argument and then Zeus tells everyone that there will be a war.
The framing set up would be Percy, as an adult telling the story of his life to his kids or even the younger campers of Camp Half Blood. First, he starts with "I didn't want to be a half-blood", there is a flash of lightning and we cut to Percy's 12-year-old self like in the real show.
2. Seeing more of Percy's life before Camp Half Blood
Percy did mention other incidents that happened before Yancy and it would have been both a hilarious and a very sad way of seeing how he got expelled from several different schools. But of course, they do have a budget and it's not very big.
3. Principal Riordan
When I saw that principal and how desperate and worried he looked in his efforts to find Percy and get him off the roof, I knew in a moment that Rick pretty much wasted a good opportunity to play the guy because Percy is his baby and seeing him act more like concerned father than a typical school principal would definitely be in his DNA. But if there is one good side, it is seeing a pegasi and one of those animatronic bulls. I also like the flashback where Percy and his mom go to the museum, but I kinda miss Mr. Brunner's lecture, it would felt more like you were in school again listening to an awesome speech on mythology. But then again, to most kids of the 2000s, school was boring.
4. Nancy calling Percy a dumb blonde
If Nancy was that cruel, she'd probably have another reason to call Percy dumb...because he's blonde. Even if such a stereotype has faded into obscurity, it would probably still make you want to give you another reason for hating her. It also could have given Percy some development as he learns for himself, and proves Nancy wrong, that not all blondes are dumb.
5. Percy calls Nancy out
Even if the scene we got was close to the book, one change I would make, that I would find to be cathartic, would be Percy telling Nancy what kind of a person she is before he pushes her into the fountain, and it would go something like this:
Percy: (grabs Nancy by the arm) Don't you have anything better to do in your spare time? One that doesn't involve being a *technical term for a female dog*?
Nancy: Well maybe I like being a *technical term for a female dog*, it makes me feel like a goddess.
Percy: Well guess what, Nancy, you're not a goddess, you're just as human as you and I and if you had any decency like a real human should, you would treat me and my friend with some respect! *slaps Nancy and force pushes her into the fountain*
6. Percy vs. Mrs. Dodds: Dawn of the Unnecessary Relocation
One of the things the Fox adaptation of The Lighting Thief ironically got right was Percy's fight with Alecto/Mrs. Dodds taking place in an empty part of the museum and Mr. Brunner giving Percy the Riptide pen in the middle of the fight. Here the fight takes place outside and Mr. Brunner gives Percy Riptide before the fight. I find this change to be very odd and the fight itself to be very underwhelming. Rick has a lot of explaining to do.
One minor note: I think Percy should have said the now (in)famous line "But this is a pen!"
7. My Riptide Sense is Tingling
I'm not sure what led Rick to make Riptide be Percy's personal alarm, and while I kinda like it, I feel mixed because what if it gets too loud and the enemy hears it?
8. Intertitles for Each Chapter
One creative way of telling the audience when a chapter begins is a title card, maybe one slightly animated and drawn on a piece of school textbook paper, think Diary of a Wimpy Kid. I know it's cheesy, but then again, drama is better.
9. Et Tu, Grover?
One change that does seem to sit well with me is Grover telling the heads of Yancy that he encouraged Percy to push Nancy into the fountain. It makes Percy's defection from Grover pretty dramatic, but at the same time, Grover not being able to tell his secret can also be concerning.
10. Has It Now Become a Sin to Feature Gaslighting in Kid's Show?
Aside from one mention, Mr. Brunner and Grover are never seen gaslighting Percy over the denial of Mrs. Dodd's existence. Instead, we get a "you are special" speech from Mr. Brunner. And I ask why? Featuring the gaslighting would have made the show feel more like a suspense thriller a la Hitchcock and adds to the mystery.
11. A Different Wardrobe for the Fates
This should have been in the episode itself.I'm glad that at least *one* of the Fates looks like her book counterpart, but I'm not too crazy over their clothes. When I read The Lightning Thief, I imagined them wearing white beekeeper/gardener uniforms or cloaks, either white like in the graphic novel, black like in the myths or red, green and blue like the Sanderson Sisters from Hocus Pocus (red for Atropos, green for Clotho and blue for Lachesis, (which is also similar to the Fates from Disney's Hercules)). In my opinion, the cloaks make the Fates look more ominous and mysterious. But I guess if you want to be more inconspicuous, giving them normal clothes is the best route. Also, why did they get rid of their scene during Percy's drive home?
12. Percy's apartment should have been a lot more messier
When I read the book I imagined the apartment to look a lot more grimier, with stuff scattered all over. What I saw was mostly restricted to Gabe's area. Also, Gabe himself doesn't appear to be too much of a douchebag and he's hardly the fat walrus Percy described him to be. When I think of a father who is a real douchebag, I think of Neil Hargrove from Stranger Things. I suppose it's become a real taboo to depict child abuse in kid's shows, so they watered Gabe down.
13. Gabe's big flat screen TV and Sally's song
One of the things I wanted for the show was it to be a homage to the 2000s, similar to how Stranger Things paid homage to the 80s, so when I saw Gabe's 4K TV and Sally listening to what I think is an Olivia Roderigo song, I was a bit livid. If I did this show, I would have replaced the TV with an old set from the 90s and have Sally listening to It Must Have Been Love by Roxette because the song would have been around in 1992 when Sally met Poseidon and I felt that the lyrics resonated with Sally missing Poseidon.
Oh and by the way, where's her Sweet on America shirt? At least they got the blue candy.
14. Gabe and Sally fighting like an old married couple
Even though they are married, Sally and Gabe don't sound like they hate each other, they sound like they're a normal couple with marriage issues. Also, I really wish Percy called Gabe a "bald headed freak" when he told him to take his shoes off before entering the car.
15. Even pacing
One thing I wanted was for the show to have a slow amount of pacing like Percy and Sally driving to Montauk while listening to Jesse McCartney on the radio to gives us a moment of mother-and-son bonding time. Cutting from the apartment to the last bit of drive to Montauk was a bit fast for me.
Also, I don't think it rained when they arrived.
16. A Romantic Flashback
To make up for the alternate opening, a flashback between Sally and Poseidon would have been nice, but I guess they didn't do it because they didn't want to give Poseidon's face and identify away. Also, whose ideas was it to tell Sally that Percy is a half-blood.
Also, missed opportunity to have Percy say "What kind of version of 'The Talk' is this?!"
17. "Oh look, a goat, and he seems to be stuck in a trash can."
One way that could have made Grover's reveal as a satyr to be both hilarious and shocking would be Percy and Sally finding him in a trash can. For those who don't know, the line is a reference to the musical where Percy says it. Also, I feel that Percy should have been a lot more freaked out to see that his best friend, whom he had known for who knows how long, should be a satyr (Imagine him saying "HOLY F*KING SH*T, GROVER, WHY DO YOU HAVE A FKING DONKNEY UP YOUR-?!" Grover: "ASK ME NOT!"). Not to mention, if I had it my way and not Disney's or Rick's, I would have him throwing profane words left and right. But I guess that after the fight with Mrs. Dodds, he's bound to be less fazed.
18. The Death of Sally Jackson: The Not-So-Drowing Artax of our Generation
When I saw Sally's "death", I didn't feel too much emotion. I felt like this should have been our equivalent of the death of Littlefoot's mother or Sirius Black falling into the veil....but I felt nothing, if not just a little. Not to mention, Sally was the one who distracted the Minotaur with Percy's red jacket instead of Percy himself. Also, I think the Minotaur scene could have been a lot more scarier.
19. The Denouement
So Percy defeats the minotaur and it justs cuts to black? I kinda expected him to scream his mother's name one last time in agony for an extra pull at the heartstrings. But at least the last few lines of dialogue made up for that.
20. A better title sequence
What makes Stranger Things and Breaking Bad the most awesome shows around? Their title sequences. Percy's was pretty short and nothing of special, it should have been more lengthy and a slow reveal like the arraigning letters of Stranger Things. Simply put, title sequences should be more amazing and able to drive the audience in.
So what do you think? Did the changes enhance the story or did they make them worse?

Friendship [I couldn't think of a better title] | Hello Puppets and Hello Puppets: Midnight Show
A/N: tagging @graceandtheidiotsquad and @youreternallover but anyone can read }:). Basically my take on an episode of Mortimer's Handeemen.
Warnings: arguments, but that's basically it I think.
youtube
[The Mortimer's Handeemen theme song plays.]
[For the opening scene, we see a woman with messy, black hair and brown eyes. She wears a red sweater, casual leggings, and a black jacket, open. She seems to notice the viewers' presence, addressing us as if we were actually there.]
OLIVIA GUBBERSON: Oh, I almost didn't see you there!
[She chuckles, pulling on the neck of her sweater.]
OLIVIA GUBBERSON: Today we're going to be learning all about friendshi-
[Suddenly, a crash and a yell is heard from the other room. Olivia's expression suddenly changes to one of concern.]
OLIVIA GUBBERSON: Oh no...I'd better go and check that out.
[OLIVIA walks into the other room, to see her younger brother OWEN GUBBERSON holding RILEY RUCKUS back as she seems to still be attempting to lunge at NICK NACK. BELLA THE BALLERINA and DAISY DANGER are helping him attempt to break it up.]
OLIVIA GUBBERSON: What On Earth Is Going On Here?
OWEN GUBBERSON: ...I have this under control, Liv!
[he says, while clearly not having this under control]
[strangely, the puppets seem to be...moving on their own, almost? Neither of the humans question this.]
NICK NACK: You - You stupid wench! You wouldn't appreciate good art if it hit you with a wrench!
[RILEY RUCKUS manages to break free from OWEN and punches NICK NACK in the face. OLIVIA facepalms.]
[Once again music starts to play. Cue a musical number!]
OLIVIA GUBBERSON: So you've gone and called someone stupid-
BELLA THE BALLERINA: And in response, they damaged your eye-
[She gestures to her eye.]
BELLA THE BALLERINA: But here is where the conflict must end, lest you both end up blind.
OLIVIA GUBBERSON:
Sometimes the problems at play Are not all plain to see So we lash out at our loved ones Disregarding our bond sanctity
DAISY DANGER:
There are several sides To us that may seem abstract at first Until we discover where everything fits, and People can be like a half-missing puzzle set; As we find the pieces Things make more and more sense!
OWEN GUBBERSON: Nice Imagery, but I'm not sure I follow.
DAISY DANGER: Well, hon, I'll give you an example!
I had this problem where I'd Often hide my less-than-awesome feelings So when I would feel like sobbing, I'd just smile and crack jokes! I thought that that was coping, only joking Never showing sadness Hoping it would go away!
RILEY RUCKUS: Did that work?
DAISY DANGER: Nope! I felt bad!
NICK NACK: Aw, Daisy...
DAISY DANGER: It's okay!
OWEN GUBBERSON: How's that?
DAISY DANGER:
Everybody gets sad Even when you have people to care for And therefore You don't have to hide your pain Life without rainy days Is incomplete
RILEY RUCKUS: Or impossible, really. Rain goes to plants, plants feed animals, plant-eating animals feed animal-eating animals and humans feed animals corn and inject them with hormones until they can barely walk anymore!
OLIVIA GUBBERSON: Riley? How does all that relate to rain?
DAISY DANGER: Putting it simply, rain is a necessary piece of the puzzle that is life!
RILEY RUCKUS: So true. Are we done singing or is this just one of those musical interludes?
BELLA THE BALLERINA: On the subject of storm clouds... 'Cause, you know. You need. Storm clouds to make. Rain I'm just gonna get into it...
You once knew me as real gloomy This weird spooky, broody gal 'Cause I knew you'd listen to me As too scary to ignore I thought that I could take it All the hate could just be shaken But when you lo— care for someone! Not much hurts more than their scorn I also felt bad
NICK NACK: Come, now...
BELLA THE BALLERINA: In a different way!
OLIVIA GUBBERSON: Different how?
BELLA THE BALLERINA: By bad, I mean, well, bad, I did what I thought that I had to, which is bad too! I don't have to act all tough sometimes love is enough...
DAISY DANGER: Or what we need!
RILEY RUCKUS:
That was a quaint little review Of things that we already knew Now, can our discourse resume? There's pressing matters at hand
OWEN GUBBERSON: Actually, that was for your benefit.
RILEY RUCKUS: I don't see how that could be relevant.
DAISY DANGER: Riley, please!
OWEN GUBBERSON: Our goals benevolent!
RILEY RUCKUS: You know me, I don't care for sentiment.
NICK NACK: OMG!
OWEN GUBBERSON & RILEY RUCKUS:
This serves as a testament To the fact-
RILEY RUCKUS: That to me, you're negligent-
OWEN GUBBERSON: [at the same time as Riley] that you have a temperament!-
BOTH:
Which is FINE!
RILEY RUCKUS: It just works to your detriment-
OWEN GUBBERSON: you just haven't accepted it-
BOTH:
You not letting me finish is proving my-/if you let me finish they'd get to the-
BELLA THE BALLERINA: HEY!
[the two snap their attention in her direction]
BELLA THE BALLERINA: You're lost!
RILEY RUCKUS: I'm right here...
BELLA THE BALLERINA: It's okay!
RILEY RUCKUS: You're acting weird...
BELLA THE BALLERINA: I was lost once too, but thanks to all of you life sucks less now!
ALL: We're your best pals!
BELLA THE BALLERINA: No one wants to be a joke...
ALL: But a life free of jokes is incomplete!
NICK NACK: Guys do you mind if I contribute to this weird, vent-ey song?
OLIVIA GUBBERSON: Please, do!
NICK NACK:
I've got an issue That feels new-school; I don't wanna say I'm too cool But I'm just too fab for you fools And I feel like you don't get me!
OWEN GUBBERSON: You've insulted us while venting!
NICK NACK: ...Sorry!
OLIVIA GUBBERSON: It's alright, Nick, honestly it didn't hurt me, it's clear you're the one who's hurting.
NICK NACK: Huh?
BELLA THE BALLERINA: You feel low!
NICK NACK: That's not true!
DAISY DANGER: It's Okay!
NICK NACK: Don't Assume!
OWEN GUBBERSON: You don't have to save face!
BELLA THE BALLERINA: In almost any case we embrace you!
NICK NACK: [sarcastic] that's rich!
DAISY DANGER: No one hates you!
ALL: Everybody's got flaws!
DAISY DANGER: But with no you at all, we're incomplete!
OLIVIA GUBBERSON:
There! Now you see! Everybody goes wrong And we put it in song So it's easier To hear it!
OWEN GUBBERSON:
This puzzle's tough I'll admit But in time We'll find where everything fits!
[musical number end.]
OLIVIA GUBBERSON: So, do you too have something to say to each other?
NICK NACK: [heavy, dramatic sigh] I'm sorry I called you stupid. And a wench.
RILEY RUCKUS: [muttering, annoyed] sorry I hit you.
OLIVIA GUBBERSON: Well, I'm glad we got that one sorted out.
OWEN GUBBERSON: I could've handled it.
OLIVIA GUBBERSON: Of course you could, little brother.
OWEN GUBBERSON: Hey! You're only 12 minutes older than me.
[Olivia only chuckles and turns to the audience again.]
OLIVIA GUBBERSON: See you all next time!
[Once again, the theme song plays.]

guys.
i figured out who e!false is.
but if i'm right i'm going to be so annoyed!! (/positive)
so i've seen a bunch of people stipulate that she might be a time traveler, which is definitely a great theory — but i have a specific type of time traveler in mind. this may sound silly, but hear me out, there's lots of evidence pointing toward this conclusion. i'm not just mashing fandoms senselessly.
false is a time lord.
or, at the very least, parts of her backstory may take inspiration from them. for those unfamiliar with doctor who, time lords are a species of alien from the planet gallifrey. they can travel through time and space through the use of their TARDIS, if they have one — not every time lord has access, as has been established in the show. they are able to regenerate when they die, (though it is a limited amount of times, time lords get twelve lives - correspondent to the hours on a standard clock.) and when they do so, they can change in appearance, gender, personality, and have some trouble remembering their previous lives for the first moments of their regeneration. and they have two hearts — but that might not be as important.
what's this have to do with false? well, not much yet. it's clear that e!false isn't a regeneration of hc!false, because they look exactly alike. but it's been implied that hc!false put e!false into another world, and didn't expect to see her when she went through the rift. so, how's that time lord behavior? see, there's a key point we're missing. when time lords are in serious danger, as a last effort to hide from their enemies, they can become a human: shutting off one of their hearts, and removing all their memories, locking them away in a golden pocketwatch.
i think hc!false took her past—or future—self, removed her memories via the golden pocketwatch (represented by the in-game minecraft clock) and dropped her through the timestream and into another world.
here are some points that helped me reach this conclusion.
- in e!false's series, she has established that she's been having dreams of her past life. this was key when the doctor had hidden as a human - he dreamed of his life as a time lord, wrote about it and sketched in his diary about what adventures he'd gone on, under the impression that he merely had a wild imagination. e!false seems to have figured out that it's her past life right away, as it seems hc!false, in a hurry to transform her, did not provide her human counterpart any false (ha) memories. she even remarks in empires episode nine, that the dreams were "about time and space and things." however, later in the episode she also seems to pull a 180° much like the doctor did, and claim that her dreams aren't of a past life at all, and that she's meerly very creative in her dreams.
- hc!false knows of e!false's existence, but e!false does not know of hers. hc!false remarked, in episode thirty-one of hermitcraft, that "time and space is obviously unstable," and that "if [she] were to get too close this world could collapse" which is a common theme in doctor who. she also remarks that she hopes e!false's "memory loss is still working," and that she "tried [her] absolute best" which is confirmation that she's the one who took e!falses memories away.
- e!false's old world shares some similarities with gallifrey. mostly built in copper-like metals, the scenery of gallifrey seems influenced by steampunk design, with huge spires of gears like the interworkings of a clock. with false's latest clocktower, she may be attempting to recapture that aesthetic.
- in one of her latest episodes, e!false started hearing strange voices in her dreams, saying things like "tick, tock, tick, tock" and "time is running out." in doctor who, when the doctor was going to be losing what they thought was their last life, an ever-changing nursery rhyme was played at the end of several episodes. the first and third lines were consistently: "tick, tock, goes the clock, [changing second line] tick, tock, goes the clock, [changing fourth line.]"
- the small clocks, which happen to also be gold, that were strewn about e!false's base in episode nine absolutely felt like a clue she left for herself to check the watch, to me. only by opening the golden pocketwatch would her memories fully return.
- gallifrey is not a nice place to live. while much of early-days and new-who doctor who doesn't touch on this, it has been revealed in later seasons that the time lords create an oppressive society, difficult to live within. in the earlier seasons, the doctor regretted their involvement in the time war, and wished desperately to save and return to their home planet—once it was available to them, they avoided it, wanted nothing to do with the current rulers of gallifrey, fearing what might happen if they came home. similarly, earlier episodes of false's showed a yearning to return to her old life, while the voices said: "i don't want to go back." (also possibly referencing the tenth doctor's death, in which he tearfully remarks "i don't want to go," before regenerating into his eleventh (technically twelfth) life.
- both of their continued references to other planets — e!false assumes, again in episode nine, that the pumpkin man that has been following her is not a creature of this world. while there are plenty of oddities in the world of empires, including the magic each empire seems to posess, she latches onto the idea that the pumpkin watching her is an alien specifically.
- in doctor who, it's established that you'll run into your past and future self eventually. while it's something that's not supposed to happen, and tends to be implied that the past version of the time lord won't retain the memory while the future self will, it happens consistently throughout the canon. and it isn't just the doctor — the master, another time lord, has also run into their past self.
- even if this isn't the true backstory of e!false, other empires are also being openly inspired by pieces of popular media. in sausage's first episode, he establishes that sanctuary is inspired by disney's encanto, and joey makes references to pirates of the caribbean often. plus, everyone's seen how many toy story references there have been! so cc!false is perfectly within her rights to draw heavy inspiration from doctor who.

Oh Lucifer!
My summer's tv fix(ation) has been Lucifer, meaning I'm late to the game in terms of the show's run, but I also get to go back and forth with full knowledge of how it all turns out.
I did not immediately get into Lucifer; I did not even finish the pilot when I tried it at some point in pre-pandemic times, but this summer I dove right in at like episode 2 or 3 and just watched the whole thing and now have gone back to squeeze the life out of the juicy and interesting bits. (beware, spoilers ahead for the whole run of the show)
The shot above is from season 6, where Lucifer turns to Chloe and he's gesturing about the position they might have been in when having sex and conceiving Rory, which is in my estimation comedic genius and one of the funniest moments of the show. I guess a lot of people have had trouble with S6, but coming as I do from a background steeped in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which dropped in a ret-con little sister in the 5th season, I didn't bat an eye at the time traveling daughter who shows up to timeloopparadox her way into existence through several more episodes to the end.
A lot of people didn't like how the series ended, either because it felt forced or was unfair to Chloe and on the first point, sure, but there's been worse finales to shows, and secondly, absolutely, but the show was never going to be able to be quite *that* subversive.
Think back to the S2E11, 'Stewardess Interruptus' where there's a whole long line of Lucifer's lovers lingering at the precinct that shows how promiscuous and daring Lucifer is, *gasp* there's men there too. What there isn't is anyone who isn't baseline "conventionally attractive" not matter how they're styled. Show me Lucifer getting it on with a dazzling array of different bodies and types (bring your fat, your amputees, your old, scarred weirdos) and I'll believe he's really willing to subvert his dear old Dad (or really that the showrunners are willing to challenge audience expectations.)
My point here as regards the ending of the show is that in all of the kerfuffle about if Chloe could accept Lucifer as the Devil and a Celestial and Immortal, but there's never any exploration about whether or not Lucifer can really accept Chloe for who she is: a mortal woman who lives a normal lifespan, whose body will necessarily not be young, perfect, perky etc and who will eventually die. They never have to do the gross boring stuff of being together long term with a human: the show is never clear on whether Lucifer excretes?? Do angels poop? Unclear.
Ending the show with Lucifer being the redemptive therapist rehabilitating the damned and brooding/missing Chloe for a million years from his perspective is preferable for the show runners: high drama and tragic love vs the risk that Lucifer in living a mortal life side by side with the detective might run out of things to miscommunicate about or might not always be "in the mood."
For all that, I'm a romantic and trust that Lucifer would be as totally deranged-devoted to Chloe in 50 years as he was when they met. It's just that on the shows own terms, that's not sexy or not the right kind of sexy.

I see that many here believe that Gabriel was selfish and wicked even when making a wish, but Astruc on Twitter reposted an analysis that actually says his final wish was a sincere intention to fix everything and make Adrien happy. There was nothing sinister except for Venum, and it seems he just thought she would refuse to give him the Miraculouses. He even mentioned several times in the show that Adrien would understand him if he told him what he was doing and assumed Adrien would do the same in his place, only to later tell Marinette that he didn't talk about the villain he was, as if implying he realized Adrien might hate him for it.
Finale analysis, which was reposted by him: https://twitter.com/MLBFrances/status/1677393499426004993
i don’t think gabriel was Overtly trying to be mean or cruel or evil. not in making the wish, for the most part not even in his intentions for making the wish. in his mind, he just wanted his wife back. he thought it was cruel and unfair that she had to be sacrificed for their child to exist. those are valid reasons to want what he did. but he’s also very much an ends justify the means kind of person. and the truth is, whether you think you are doing it all for the good of the world, the benefit of others, or the happiness of your loved ones, when the means are very cruel and painful, they never Ever justify the ends
that’s why adrichat yells and screams and cries in 5x24. that’s why he tells him he fucking sucks and is a shit father (however he said it). even if gabe explained it to adrien, when coupled with what ladybug’s told him, how he himself has learned that making a wish is Dangerous, he would ultimately realize trying to wish his mom back is wrong. at the end of the episode, when marinette shows gabe that video, he realizes that even SHE doesn’t want to come back. he makes the wish to bring natalie back so that someone is left to raise adrien. in his eyes, that’s the best thing he could do in this situation. a final ditch attempt to somewhat right his wrongs. but that doesn’t mean making a wish isn’t Still Dangerous and the characters in the world might start facing its consequences (the lies, lila and the electricity scene at the end)
and so yeah. gabe clearly doesn’t want adrien to remember him as an evil villain. but lies can only get you so far. the truth of how his dad treated him will never go away. and that’s the thing about villains that don’t deserve to be redeemed. there are people in our life that don’t deserve that either, but the odd thing about love is that we try and redeem them anyway. we want to be wrong about them anyway. we wish for them to be better than we thought we were. and that’s why i can say gabriel is awful and abusive and shitty but also adrien is going to miss him and mourn him and hate that he’s gone and want to think his father was better than how he treated him
so yeah. gabriel is a long list of bad things that you just can’t come back from at this point. not because he used venom on marinette when she let her guard down and trusted him. not because he made the wish. but it all adds up. and whether he thinks he’s doing the right thing or not, deciding to sacrifice himself deus ex machina style instead of facing real life consequences—sucks. him asking a girl to lie to his son and the world and keep his ugly secrets. sucks!!! regardless of intention
so yeah… gabe can have the right intentions and want to make everything right and decide that he shouldn’t force his desires on the people he loves at the end… it doesn’t mean he’s a good guy now lol. also doesn’t make it bad writing. unless they fuck it up majorly next season. but im really just here for the ride
tl;dr i don’t really know what ur trying to drive home here so im just giving my thoughts in general about gabriel + how good intentions don’t mean good person? lol i hope this makes sense. i think that redeeming gabriel doesn’t play into whether a piece of media is good. not every villain needs to be redeemed etc etc

I, uh...
Well, you might say I have some thoughts.
Okay, so, on the one hand, I'm slightly impressed. Certain sections of this episode made me think, "Dude! Where has this level of writing been for the last two seasons?!?" All the scenes at the Reyes house. EZ dumping his bike. Some of it felt really good. It watched well, even if it felt a little out of place with the rest of what we received.
On the other hand, I am disappointed as all hell, for several different reasons. The glaring issue being that I don't foresee a neat little wrap-up in just one episode. Come on. They really are suffering for the bullshit pacing during the rest of the season, and it shows. Ugh. I feel nitpicky for always complaining about that, but this is a clear-cut case of, "We could have had it all!"
Yeah. Anyway.
I'm also at a bit of a loss over Terry claiming the Mayans broke into their (I assume) clubhouse. (And, as an aside, they should really consider some new lighting, or a coat of paint in that bitch, something). Anyway. I understand protecting the girls. Sure. That's a great surface deed. But, not only is it coming back to bite him - and everyone else - in the ass, it's also a terrible watering-down of everything Letty and Hope went through in this series. We didn't hear a thing about Letty this week (unless I missed it), and, unless she delivers the kill shot on Isaac (which I highly doubt), what more is there for her? I love this girl. I wanted the best for her, and the pain they have put her through has been unnecessary, beyond furthering the war. I ask no forgiveness. That just pisses me right off.
I'm distraught about Elio. I really am. Further proof that EVERY MOTHER FUCKING THING EZ touches goes to shit. The looks on Bottles' and Guero's faces... The devastation done to the Broken Saints. Their animals. And all that punk-ass little bitch could worry about was the fucking pipeline?! It's all EZ's fucking fault, top to bottom. (I know the Broken Saints made a decision that came back to bite them, but I only have one more episode to blame El Presidente, okay?).
Which brings me to Felipe. OH, MY FUCKING HELL. I knew it was coming, that Papa Reyes would come under fire, but FUCK ME. Maverick, too?! That poor baby boy!! Like the poor kid doesn't already have enough stacked up against him. Cripes. I would like to hope Felipe is still alive, and that whoever is in that bag is one of the Sons. Felipe is a tough old man, and I'm sure he's been through worse in his younger years. And, yeah, keys words, right there: younger years. Let me hope, huh? I like the dude. But, if he really is gone, my heart can handle it, in that he died to protect his grandson. <3 .
*mutters to herself* No crying at work, Mycki. No crying at work.
I did appreciate seeing Wendy. Nero and the boys would have been awesome, but that's just asking for too much. (Tee-hees). She had some good advice, and I'm glad to find her doing so damned well. She's worked for it, and she's earned it.
But.
But.
After that (long-ass) chat, I'm expected to believe that EZ truly loves Sofia so much 'it hurts'?? *cackles* Gimme a damned break, here!! I don't like the broad, but I was hoping she'd at least have the good sense to pack up herself, and the pup, and get the frick away from Hurricane Ezekiel. (Which isn't fair, because the man is pretty much every single natural disaster mashed together in one mess of a human being). These two, though, are both a special kind of dumb, and they truly deserve one another. I just don't want anything to happen to the dog.
I don't. At all.
Since nothing much else happened this week, I'd like to take a moment to say, R.I.P. Les Packer. I'm sure you'll be seeing Little Brother again, shortly.
Finally, my heart is just going out to Angel, yet again. Damn, this poor guy. He's built up some bad karma, sure, but he's steadily lost over the years, too. It just keeps happening, and it's because of his brother. He tried to warn him. Tried to pull him in the right direction. Now, their family has come under fire. AGAIN. His kid, for the second time this season. I hope to hell that he gets out. That he gets out, and far, far away from Santo Padre, and from the Mayans, and from all the bullshit he just doesn't need, anymore. To keep Maverick away from all the haunts and dangers of their family. (Ideally, if the old man is still alive, I'd like him to go along with). I know I've said it before, that Angel has become the Jax of this series, and I still feel that way. At least, in halves. EZ is the Jax that make stupid decisions, and Angel is the Jax that the consequences all come to call on. I just want Angel to be able to be a good father for his kid.
Oh, yeah. Where the hell was everyone else, all of a sudden? Penultimate episode, and suddenly nobody else's bullshit storylines matter? My word!
Until the finale, Y'all! -Mycki

Finished the OG Gundam and I'm just stream of consciousnessing this one because I feel like I'm gonna burst lmao. It's so rich with meaning, I want to cite so many beautiful moments but listing those off feels like it'd be a fool's endeavor. It's incredibly moving, it's human, it's earnest, it's timeless, it's so many things and I wish I had the words to communicate it better. Amuro's development as a protagonist is nuts like. Those last few episodes and their focus on the meaning of Newtypes and his ethos for them do a lot for him, but even over time he's learning his place in a world that he can't quite fit into because well, he's still growing and changing. But it's that flexibility, his earnestness, and his heart that make all that he does so impactful. You feel his dynamism and passion, his hopes for the world and those around him so strongly when he figures out where he needs to be. But it's not just a coming of age for Amuro. It's also interrogating the nature of humanity, the way we connect, sever them, hurt those around us, and are changed by those we connect with. To deny that is to deny the beauty of your humanity, as it's how we can, despite all odds, reach out to and connect with each other. Even with the destruction of the White Base, he still has a home and people to come back to. It gives so much meaning to what we do as humans, and Lalah feeling lost about that when she speaks to Amuro through what bond Newtypes have, because she can't *find* that in him, it's just. That entire episode between the two, Amuro realizing the horror of what he's done after killing the first person he was able to connect with on the level that Newtypes do, after learning so much from her in that short moment, and the way that even after she's gone, he figures that out, she helps him in one way or another to save his home. Even after he did something he can't take back, that didn't undo the impact she had on him. What is being a child but having your mistakes forgiven. And speaking of the kids, I feel like Katz, Letz, and Kikka are so central to what makes the show good? They're often used for comedy but I think that's part of the core fact that makes them such wonderful parts in the narrative; that even among the horror of war, we have to take care of everyone that will come after us, and maintain our ability to feel that joy and hope and optimism for the future, to try as hard as we can within our means to do *something*. Them bringing Amuro back then acts as a symbol of how important it is to maintain that hope, especially after Amuro has just battled Char and his cynical realism. Them being newtypes also works because well, again, they're the future. Newtypes are such a cool thing both in the frame of "scifi thing cool" and also just as a purely symbolic thing. To be a Newtype is to be able to connect to others and try to understand them, to listen to the intent, emotion, and will of others, in some ways. We see Bright, who is decidedly Not portrayed as a Newtype reflect this philosophy, in the ways he can feel some parts of it with Lalah, because he's open to the future, but he's not open minded enough like Sayla, Mirai, Amuro, and Char, to interact with that future. Katz, Letz, and Kikka once again as Newtype children also demonstrate that future. It can be taken as "newtypes are superior for reasons demonstrated in the work" which is objectively true but I think it misses the forest for the trees, in that the reason that Newtypes are the future is their ability to connect to other people, and their connections are depicted as *beautiful* things. I feel like as I sit on it more and ruminate I'll have more to say, but as it stands I just. I get why Gundam fans are so excited when people get into it, because it's a work so rich with meaning.
