I got sucked back into Ever After High, so hoo boy get ready for a long ass analysis about a ship

Did I mean to get sucked into Rapple? Uh, no. Fuck no. I usually make it a point not to sell my entire soul to small fandoms because the inevitable lack of fics will just break my heart. But here we are.

I'm low key distressingly neutral about the canon/popular ships for Ever After High. Namely Dexter x Raven and Apple x Darling. I have absolutely nothing against them, cause they’re both really adorable. I don’t know if appling is canon actually but it is strongly hinted at, and while I’m ecstatic that there’s some form of lgbt rep (however small), and that Dexter isn’t sadboi anymore cause he’s with Raven, I’ve always just liked Apple x Raven way more.

I guess I’m posting this cause I want to analyze why I like Rapple specifically? This isn’t meant to attack either of these ships or shippers in any way btw! This is just my personal opinion, I just felt the need to mention dexter x raven and apple x darling cause they are (for the most part) canon. :))

Tbh i really didn't mean to make such a gigantic analysis about this, but I got carried away lmao.

1. Rapple has a lot of narrative tension and weight:

I feel like rapple has more narrative weight as a ship then most I’ve seen in the Ever After High fandom. These two characters are undeniably the focal point of the story, and while all characters in the show have backstories and well developed characterizations, Raven and Apple are the "leaders" and the main main characters.

Raven with Apple could make for a really a complex and interesting storyline. After all, Ever After High is ALL about breaking free of your pre-determined destiny, it would be the perfect twist in the story for Apple to fall for Raven and vice versa. There's so much more to write with that kind of turn in the story; the growth of a relationship, character development, the backlash they might recieve from a hero and villain together, fighting what everyone else tells them they should be. Honestly if we're gonna go there, it kind of mirrors what lgbt people have to go through on the daily. In my eyes, appling and dexter x raven (I'm sorrryyy I don't know the proper ship name) pales a bit in comparison, just in the amount of weight they carry (not that it HAS to have narrative weight to be a good cute ship of course).

Darling for Apple is also unconventional and a plot twist, cause it no longer follows the stereotypical hetero-normative fairy-tale, and I absolutely ADORE Darling as a character, but in the end she is still a Charming. Apple is still pre-destined to fall for a Charming, she's still following what her destiny tells her she should be, and while that's good on one hand, cause Apple wants to follow her destiny, I feel like when she pulled Raven back from the brink in Wonderland, she realized that destiny is not so set in concrete and what matters more is the people behind those destinies. I think Rapple would really drive in that point; destiny or no destiny that’s not what matters. So while appling does have some narrative tension as well, it doesn’t make me gleefully go “oh my god FUCK, you wonderful DISASTERS, now you’ve gone and done it. Now you've fucking stepped in it. AMAZING.”, y’know? Dexter and Raven is the exact opposite. Destiny-wise it's pretty unique and frowned upon, but again, heterosexual romance (not that I expect all the characters to be lgbt, that's not what I'm saying) so it also doesn't hold as much weight as Rapple. I'm greedy ok? I want both. I want aspects of both. Maybe I'm just a shit-stirrer though lmao, maybe I just need a ship that fucking destroys all expectations and fucks shit up in the process XDD. It's possible *shrugs*

2. The amount of growth they go through together.

So it's pretty undeniable that Apple at the beginning is....um. Selfish, if we're gonna go with mild language. Kind of a bitch if we're gonna go with stronger language. She doesn't give a shit that Raven will have a horrible life if she follows her destiny, all she cares about is her part of the story and her happy ending. But the thing is, Apple doesn't stay like that. She becomes Raven's roommate and friend, and when it really came down to it, during the Wonderland part of the story, even though Apple is the one who gives Raven the book, she doesn't push and shows her support in thinking that Raven is too good to become the evil queen. And then when Raven was almost lost, Apple is the one who pulled her back and told her to choose who she wants to be. She let go of her need for Raven to be evil and saw her as her own person; someone she cares about deeply. Raven on the other hand starts off unsure and kind of insecure. She was still figuring herself out, and trying to resist what everyone is trying to tell her; that she has to be evil. I feel like through her personal growth and Apple's influence she starts to be more settled, confident. And Apple's support before and after she signed her storybook in wonderland definitely helped. This mutual growth actually brings me to my next point:

3. Rapple has a very strong basis for a relationship

So there's a definite reason why I love the concept of enemies to friends to lovers SO MUCH, and despite what people say, no it's not just because of UST (i mean that's a bonus but far from the only reason). What I care about is again, the mutual GROWTH.

What enemies to lovers does (healthy enemies to lovers btw, rivalries and stuff, not abusive shit) is force the two people to confront the worst parts of each other first and foremost. Meeting someone for the purpose of dating/because you like them means you'll put up a fake, mellower version of yourself to impress them, but there's none of that if you start off hating each other. Clashing is also often because of some underlying issue or sometimes because of a weakness in character; there's numerous reasons, pettiness, unhappiness, jealousy, anger, but it's never because everything is perfect. This means that, in order for these two characters who dislike each other to end up together in any capacity, they have to grow as people first, become better versions of themselves, and in the process they help each other achieve that. They also have to learn each other and let go of whatever was nagging them and compromise. It takes work and I love that, so much more than just a kiss to fall in love, or love at first sight or any of that fairytale stuff. Because that’s exactly it, relationships take work. It takes people repeatedly choosing to stay and work things out, and compromising, and that’s, in pure essence, exactly what you’re doing in enemies to lovers. Not only that, but it means they willingly choose the other person despite their setbacks, because god knows they're not the easiest option, means they see the worst in each other and want each other anyways.

Raven and Apple already have that set up in Ever After High, the only difference is, canonically, they're only friends (which honestly is just as good, not everything needs to be romance but this is a shipping analysis, so, I’m gonna stay on brand here). They disagree with each other, and they annoy each other, and they fight sometimes and they're still best friends despite it all. They really truly know each other, and that I feel like is such a strong basis for a relationship. Other than Maddie, I don't think Raven truly is as close to anyone else as she is to Apple, and the same goes in reverse. They even live together. *leans forward creepily* oh my god they were roommates.

I don't know, I just feel like, with other Raven and Apple ships, there's always a hint of potential for a relationship that the show and books never really explored or developed extensively, while Rapple already has these solid af steel foundations that could be built on and made into something amazing.

4. We know the most about Apple and Raven respectively

This is a rather minor detail, and more about me personally, but I'm the kind of person that has to really know a lot about characters in order to ship them. I also have to like both characters but I feel like that's kind of a given for shipping. If I know very little about the characters involved I lose interest. I know the most about Raven and Apple, we follow them closely throughout the series, and in the books, we see things from their viewpoints. In contrast, I just don't know as much about Darling or about Dexter.

5. I just find them cute as shit tbh

This is pretty self explanatory, they're just plain adorable. Something about them makes my heart go squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Oof this turned out WAYYY longer than I intended it to be, but anyways, stan rapple- or don’t y’know, stan appling or dexter x raven, or whatever other ships, stan ALL the other ships, ship anything and everything you want, be happy. After that conversation, all you could think about was how the hell did you get into this mess? Motorcycles are dangerous, yet this rooster convinced you so easily to take a ride with him..

It was an understatement to say that you were nervous for tomorrow.

You set an alarm for 7 am the next day and went to bed.

Your alarm woke you up and you immediately remembered why you were awake so early. You rushed into the shower and once you were out, you spent 30 minutes deciding on what to wear. You opted for some black, ripped skinny jeans and a white v-neck t-shirt.

At 8am on the dot, your phone’s notification bell went off. It was Kuroo.

“What’s your address, baby?”

You sent him the details and continued getting ready. You put on some light makeup and brushed your hair. You checked the time, and it was already 8:55 am. Then, your phone went off again.

“I’m outside.”

Your heart almost beat out of your chest. You grabbed your purse and put on some chapstick. You know, just in case..

You locked up your apartment and walked down the stairs. You were greeted by the biggest shit eating grin on the sexiest man you’d ever seen. You never went for the bad boys but college is a time for experimenting.

“Hey, Y/N. You ready to ride? I brought an extra helmet for you.”

“Hi, Kuroo. And yeah, I guess,” your voice shook as you replied. You were really nervous but you tried to hide it.

“Don’t worry, baby. There’s nothing to be afraid of. I’ll keep you safe.”

His words made you melt and you had just met him. The way he cooed at you and looked your way made you blush. You felt your cheeks get hotter by the second.

“Alright. Hop on and hold on to my waist. Hold on tight or else you’re gonna fly away when I take off. Okay?”

“..okay..” you managed to mutter. You were shaking but you put on the helmet he gave you and lifted up your leg to sit on the metal machine. You slowly hugged Kuroo from behind and held on as tight as you could. Your head was smashed right up against his large, broad back.

“Ready?” he asked.

“..yeah,” you squeaked.

Before you finished saying this, he had taken off like the devil was chasing him. If this was his meaning of safe driving, you didn’t want to find out his meaning of reckless driving.

The ride to Sendai University only took about 5 minutes, when realistically it would take 20 minutes by bus. You arrived and Kuroo teased, “are you going to let go, kitty?”

You hadn’t realized you were still gripping onto him for dear life. You released him from your hold and your hands still tingled from the amount of force you applied to his shirt. “Sorry!”

“No worries. Hey, look! I brought you here alive. Aren’t you glad?” he cackled.

His laugh sounded like a dying hyena but it did sound a little cute at the same time. “Yeah. Thank goodness. Your driving is insane, dude.”

He showed you all over campus, from the administrative buildings to the gymnasium, to the fields. Sendai was a pretty big campus, and it made you glad that you had a personal guide to show you all the different buildings.

After your little tour was over, he asked, “wanna grab a bite to eat? I’ll be a gentleman and pay for you too.”

Of course, you couldn’t say no to food. Much less, FREE FOOD! You nodded and got ready to ride the devil’s machinery again.

He took you to a nearby sushi bar. “Order whatever you’d like, princess. Today, I want to spoil you rotten.”

You melted at his words and also at the variety of rolls on the menu. You didn’t ask him if he really meant that you could order anything. You just kind of went for it. You ordered everything from shrimp tempura, to octopus, to eel. Sushi was your favorite and being told that you could order everything was a dream come true.

“Damn, girl! I had no idea you had such a huge appetite! I didn’t know you’d take me seriously on my offer. You’re gonna run my pockets dry.”

You blushed and looked away. “Sorry, Kuroo. I really couldn’t help myself. I love sushi so much.”

“I’m just teasing you, baby. You deserve to be treated like this everyday.”

You had no idea how to respond so you just kept stuffing your face with sushi.

After you finally had your fill, it was time to go home. It was getting late. Kuroo took you home and you were definitely more relaxed this time on the bike.

“I hope you had a great time today, kitty. And I hope I met your standards.”

“Yes, I did! Thank you so much, Kuroo! This was honestly so much fun. Thanks for everything.”

“Of course. Nothing but the best for you. I just need one little favor from you, baby.”

“Oh? What is it?”

“Can I get a kiss from your soft lips? I know you want to. I saw the way you kept staring at me, today.”

“Oh.. uhh.. Y-yea-yeah. Sure, of course.. Yeah,” you stammered.

You looked at him with soft, shy eyes and before you knew it, he leaned in quickly and kissed you on the lips. Your eyes were wide open in surprise but as he deepened the kiss, your eyes slowly shut.

The kiss felt like electricity coursing through your body. You didn’t know what it was, but this man definitely already had you wrapped around his long, slender finger.

As soon as you realized his hold on you, he backed off, and left you wanting more. He was such a tease.

“I can’t just let you have everything today, kitten. I need you wanting more.”

You didn’t know what to respond so you looked down at the ground shyly.

“I’ll message you later, y/n. Don’t make me wait too long, again.”

You waved and muttered, “Thank you, Kuroo.”

He revved up his bike and was gone in seconds.

You remained in a daze as you walked back up to your apartment. Once you got inside, you plopped down on your couch and released a long sigh. “Who knew that college was going to be so exciting..”

Maybe when he was a kid but he doesn’t remember much. He gets a different kind of teasing now.

When they are harming vulnerable people. Alexander may be a killer but he only does it when it’s to take down the rich.

Oof. Xander is really affectionate, he’d hold hands, hug, kiss, cuddle... all of it. It’s different depending on whom he’s being affectionate to.

Easily. He moves temporarily to a lot of places depending where his jobs need to be executed so, he’s always open for change. Only thing hard to adapt to is jet lag.

BnHA Chapter 171: Knock Them Dead With Your Sound

Previously on BnHA: Deku and Mirio visited Eri in the hospital. Eri apologized for everything they went through in order to save her, particularly Mirio who lost his powers. Mirio told her it wasn’t her fault and that everyone was just glad she was safe, and they all wanted to see her smiling face. Eri tried to smile but couldn’t quite manage it. Deku racked his brain for ways to cheer her up, and struck on the idea of inviting her to the cultural festival. Aizawa said he’d need to ask the principal but that it could probably be arranged. After Mirio explained the concept, Eri agreed, saying that she wanted to get to know everyone better. We then cut to the police, who were watching a live broadcast of a convenience store robbery and trying to trace its source. The robber, a gentleman thief named -- wait for it -- Gentle, took out six heroes in the blink of an eye and then left without taking any money. He said he wanted his name to be etched into history, and as he met up with his accomplice afterwards, he pondered what his next great exploit should be.

Today on BnHA: We are properly introduced to Gentle and his social media-savvy adoring fan La Brava. Gentle specializes in “chivalrous crimes” that target corruption. However his recent videos haven’t been as popular, in part because Stain and the League of Villains have been stealing his thunder. Back at U.A., word begins to spread about class A’s band performance and dance program. Bakugou overhears some grumps complaining about how cocky 1-A is and how they’re the ones who “start all the conflict.” That evening the kids meet to hash out who will be in charge of what. Jirou needs a drummer, and it turns out Bakugou plays drums, but he’s pissed at the idea of being obligated to provide stress relief for the other departments. As he puts it, “we aren’t getting smacked down by the villains because we enjoy it.” Instead he reframes the whole thing as a battle, and vows to knock U.A. dead with his sound. I mean, whatever works I guess. Meanwhile Gentle reveals to La Brava that he’s planning a new stunt which will surpass anything Stain or the League has done: he plans to invade U.A.

(As always, all comments not marked with an ETA are my unspoiled reactions from my first readthrough of this chapter. I’ve read up through chapter 198 now, so any ETAs will reflect that.)

so now the narration is talking about how before the present systems were established, the lines between heroes and villains were blurred and it was an age of chaos

honestly this all sounds incredibly badass, like a superpowered wild west

and Gentle seems to agree, saying it was an age of pure freedom

this guy really feels what he’s doing, huh

the gentle, soothing, cuddly criminal. when he’s not out doing Crime, he makes ASMR roleplays in his spare time. “sleep-inducing bank robbery 🌙 (whispered/soft-spoken)”

he’s walking over to La Brava now and she says that their account got deactivated “again”, so she just finished uploading all of their videos to a new account

There’s that same base assumption: Culprit = Mastermind = Kokichi. But what if one of those isn’t true? Or, well, two? Could it be Culprit = Mastermind? Or Culprit = Kokichi? Or just... well, neither?

Man, just... the fact that you’re trying to shut down discussion really lends itself to suspicion. I don’t think I’m drawing the wrong conclusion by saying she was the one who cleaned up after the fact, but I suppose the option of her outright killing Kokichi or mercy-killing Kaito is still a possibility? I still don’t think she’s the culprit because I don’t think she was able to get in until after the crossbow shots were fired (aka let in by Kaito) but...

Or... or if she found Kaito dead already, from illness, and then crushed the body to frame Kokichi for it... but if she thought he was the mastermind, then she would think he’d have control of the full trial and would know that selecting him as the culprit would be the wrong answer, right??? Meanwhile Maki is all about that supposed ‘direct’ evidence. Which, you know, fair! .... is what I would say if I didn’t think she was participating in a cover-up. But the motive behind the coverup... just saying ‘she wants to save Kaito’ isn’t really good enough for me, because that means she’s forfeiting everyone else’s lives in the process of the trial proceeds by its own rules - which it seems to be doing.... And, yeah, everything outside is gone, and she did agree to mercy-kill everyone before they saw the flashback light, but -

Oh, that’s an interesting thought. Kaito overthrows Kokichi, accidentally killing him in the process thanks to Maki’s poisoned arrows. Kaito succumbs to illness, or is going to in short order. Monokuma AI is still up and running, and Maki thinks it’s just because it can run independently of Kokichi, maybe? So she takes advantage of it in order to mercy-kill everyone like Gonta (and maybe Kokichi) wanted last chapter, while letting Kaito die without anyone else thinking he was a murderer? Is this her using her Ultimate Assassin ability in the most compassionate way she can, maybe?

I.... don’t know if I’m 100% satisfied with that answer... but it is an answer..........

It’s not a question of wants, my dear Sweetcheeks - she needs to push this narrative. The real question is if she actually believes it herself.

Moral Alignment

My parents were watching some dumbass reality cop show and I got an idea lmao. So here’s a soul mate thing with Sam/Steve because I really don’t write them enough. This is basically just a long ass crack fic tbh.

Steve kind of hates being a cop. When he was a kid he had all these delusions about saving people and being a good person but all he does is deal with people being assholes and do a lot of running mostly. And the useless calls because some parent wants to teach their fucking kid a lesson. Ugh, if he never gets another one of those calls it’ll be too soon. At the moment he’s stuck patrolling around, which is literally doing nothing for a stupid amount of time but whatever.

He’s driving down a darker street just to waste his own time when he notices a guy walking along the side of the road dancing a little to whatever is playing in the headphones he’s wearing. When he walks under a street light Steve’s eyebrows go up because wow that guy is hot.

So, like a complete moron, he pulls off to the side of the road where the guy is walking, noting that he’s pulled his headphones off and Steve asks for his name. Technically its something he can do not that he does it often because he thinks its mostly a waste of time but it works for him now. Or at least it does until the guy looks at him, going from somewhat confused to absolutely irritated in a matter of moments as he feels it too.

That warm, pleasant feeling in the heart that indicates you’ve met your soul mate but there’s also the words, barring that. “You’ve got to be fucking kidding me,” the guy says and Steve’s cheeks heat a little in embarrassment. He had always sort of hoped his words would be wrong but apparently he’s not so lucky. No one ever is but it’d be nice to cheat the system given his um... rocky start to things.

“I mean I’m not that bad...” he says in his own defense.

“‘Not that bad’? You just randomly stopped a man minding his own damn business to ask for his name and you have that nasty mustache,” he says.

Steve touches his face gently, “I busted my razor this morning and I haven’t had time to buy a new one,” he says. “And I only pulled over because I thought you were cute,” he adds, a little embarrassed.

His soul mate rolls his eyes and honestly its the most dramatic thing he’s ever seen and he knows Tony Stark personally. And Clint, for that matter. And Bucky. “You pulled me over because you think I’m attractive? You are a complete waste of my tax dollars,” he says, arms crossed in annoyance.

“I can’t even argue with that,” he mumbles. “I’m a shit cop. Also my name is Steve Rogers, and I still kind of want yours. For soul mate purposes, not cop purposes,” he clarifies.

“Sam Wilson. Are you always this easy to throw off guard? Because that seems like a bad trait for a cop,” he points out.

Steve sighs, “I am unflappable. I once had a woman throw actual turds and vomit at me and I was fine, everything worked itself out. But talking to people I find attractive? Never been good at it.” God knows how the hell he and Peggy managed a relationship when he constantly tripped over his words. She found it endearing until she met Angie but Steve thinks they’re a sweet couple. Very loving.

Sam squints, “and what, you never find the people you arrest attractive?” he asks.

Yeah, its happened. “Usually I have a partner with me so you know, he does stuff. Not much stuff, he’s a way worse cop than me. Once we were trying to deescalate a situation and he hid behind the trash cans with the civilians and left me to it. Thankfully raging drug addict with a gun is not my type.” Bucky though... should not be a cop. Usually Natasha sticks him on desk duty because his ability to organize paperwork is actually pretty good.

“Are there any not shit cops that you work with?” Sam asks, squinting again.

“Pretty much everyone but me and Bucky. Ever seen Brooklyn Nine Nine? We’re Hitchcock and Scully even though we both want to be Rosa or Holt. In that order.” They suck at the job mostly because they have no passion for it, which is what makes anyone good at their job, but now they’re kind of stuck with this so whatever.

It pays the bills and sometimes Steve gets to rescue kittens from trees so that’s decent. That time he had to chase that one woman through a haunted house with his easily scared best friend and completely useless cop though is far less ‘decent’ as far as career choices go. Bucky damn well knew they were all fake, why did he keep screaming at the ghosts? And everyone thought they were wearing costumes. Fuck Halloween, Steve’s tired of being mistaken for a stripper gram.

“Hmm,” Sam mumbles. “Well, at least you don’t seem racist even if you’ve got all the makings of a ‘go back to your own country’ starter kit going on,” he says, waving an arm around at the car and his face. Steve so resents that but the mustache is a little much. When Natasha saw him this morning she told him he looked like he’d be willing to dry fuck a truck’s tailpipe and Bucky laughed so hard he almost choked to death on his donut.

“Did I really give off that racist of a vibe? I want to know because I don’t really want to give that vibe off,” he says seriously. He might hate being a cop but he doesn’t want to be intimidating either, especially not in a racist way. Though if anyone knew about the Princess Bubblegum and Marceline bobble heads in his car they’d probably not find him intimidating in any kind of fashion.

Sam gives him a look that indicates he’s 200% done with Steve and he really doesn’t know what he did aside from generally being a useless cop. “You pulled over because a black man was dancing around a little on the side of the road? I know I’ve got the rhythm of a drunk white girl grinding on some guy to ‘shake it off’ by Taylor Swift in a club but that’s not illegal,” he says.

Steve lets out a groan and drops his head to the steering wheel, ignoring the sharp ‘beep’ that sounds from the car. “Oh my god you thought I racially profiled you,” he mumbles.

“Bingo,” Sam says. “But... in your slight defense I’d arrest me if I witnessed that too,” he admits. “And also in your slight defense I guess I could have looked like someone you were trying to arrest.” He’s intentionally reaching but its sweet that he’s trying to let Steve off the hook especially since he out and out admitted to pulling him over because he thought he was cute.

He should probably find a new job. “So um. When we tell people how we met we’re telling them I heroically saved your life,” he says.

Sam snorts, “hell no, we’re telling them the truth- that your useless cop ass pulled me over to get my name because you thought I was cute and what were you even going to do after that?” he asks.

Steve winces again, “I didn’t think that far ahead, I was just hoping to strike up a conversation and get your number,” he admits.

“Alright honey, I’m taking pity on you because you are clearly a clueless, yet harmless, human being. Don’t hit on people in uniform, they’ll feel obligated to flirt back. What are you doing?” he asks and Steve lets out another groan.

“God damnit I am not usually this clueless, I swear. I think I might have sensed the soul mate thing because I’m not this stupid normally.” Jesus, he can’t believe he hadn’t thought of that. Thankfully Sam is the brains of this operation of god knows where this would go.

Bucky grins, enthused by Steve’s utter embarrassment regarding how he met his soul mate. “Natasha!” he calls, “come here, Steve’s got his best ‘dumb gay slut’ moment yet and it involves his soul mate!” And it’ll probably be his last so he’s pleased that this one is a damn good one.

Natasha immediately sticks her head out of her office, “on a scale of Clint and Phil meeting to you and Tony meeting how good is it?” she asks.

“Better than me and Tony, for sure,” he says and Nat grins, plodding over immediately. Yeah, he would too if the story was better than that time Bucky met Tony literally falling out of the sky and using Bucky as a cushion. He pities Tony for having the noise he made permanently tattooed on his body. Its worse than that noise in that song by Imagine Dragons- Radioactive- after breathing in the chemicals. The good news is that Steve finally topped his ridiculous story with his own.

He explains to Natasha what happened and from start to finish its a damn ride. Natasha snickers, considering Sam for a moment and the man is brave because he stares back. Sometimes when they have trouble getting confessions they send in Nat and most people are so scared they give up basically five seconds into her stare down. “So,” she says, “where do you fit in the Moral Alignment Test?” she asks.

Steve gives Sam a panicked look because this is a trick question- they all made up their own types years ago but Sam just smirks. “I’m chaotic asshole,” he says and Steve’s eyebrows fly up as Bucky gasps.

“You’re my mortal enemy. I’m lawful scared,” he says.

Sam squints at him for a moment before he turns to Steve, “I hope you don’t like this one much because I hate him already. Where do you sit on the alignment?” he asks Steve, who sighs.

“One, that’s the best friend I told you about. The Scully to my Hitchcock even though he’d rather be the Scully to my Mulder. Actually he’d be Mulder. Anyways I’ve been told I’m lawful super slut,” he mumbles, obviously hoping that would get lost in the rest.

Sam snorts, “guess that explains you ‘dumb gay slut’ reputation. Actually, you know what, pulling over to question me because you thought I was hot gave you away. And your lawful scared best friend needs to go,” he adds.

“Don’t be rude, I became a cop so I can arrest annoying people and you’re getting on my nerves,” Bucky tells him.

“How’s that going for you?” Sam asks, deadpan.

“See any annoying people around here?” he asks and from the look on Steve’s face he’s just pulled an Icarus, except he’d flying into the sun, not too close to it.

“I see you,” Sam says, power bombing him verbally through the precinct floor. Well, ok. He set himself up for that.

So I wasn’t actually tagged in this, but I saw it going around a while back and I was trying to write but it turns out writing + muscle relaxants is not a good combo, thus instead of actually writing I’m just going to talk about my writing because why the hell not

What’s your total word count on AO3?

286801. Which, uh, um, wow, excuse me while I pick my jaw up off the floor. And that’s not including a number of tumblr only fics for both this fandom and my previous one. I honestly feel like I haven’t written a lot because 90% of my fics are short and I’ve only been writing fic since 2015 (we’re not going to count those fumbles back when I was like 14 on quizilla lmao), but I guess if you write enough short things, they do eventually add up haha

How often do you write?

I make random notes of ideas and such all the time, but as in actually sitting down and writing? It depends on my mood. There are times I write for hours every day for a week. There are times when I haven’t touched a single document in weeks. Writing is, unfortunately, a hobby for me and when irl gets stupid or the brain gremlins are acting up, it’s one of the first things that falls to the wayside because it does take a lot of mental energy. But the groove does always come back eventually. I only force myself when I can take it, mentally, so mostly I’m just floating on inspiration

(The rest is behind a cut because I really rambled a lot here, wow. And if you’re on mobile, I am so sorry)

Do you have a routine for writing?

Not really. I basically sit down, make sure I have a beverage and maybe some snacks (usually something like chocolate chips or m&ms - simple sugars help you think by giving you energy without taking much to digest them. It’s a trick I used for university), and put in headphones with music. For music, I tend towards instrumentals, be that classical or video game soundtracks, just because having lyrics can confuse my brain if I’m not focusing well. Atmospheric (storms, ocean, etc.) also sometimes work. I also tend to have a game of solitaire open in the background, for when I need to pause and think but I need to still be doing something just to keep the flow going

What are your favorite kinks/tropes/pairings?

I mean, I am all about d/s dynamics, sub!Kylo especially, in case you hadn’t noticed lmao. That’s my bread and butter. So mostly I like anything that goes with that (also like, not necessarily orgasm denial proper, but any sexual act where only one party gets gratification out of it is hnng). Here’s random list of other kinks I like in no particular order: begging, desperation, dirty talk, overstimulation, multiple orgasms, weird kinks, objectification, petplay, etc. I love far too many to ever list them all lmao

As for tropes, I love to say I’m a fan of slow burm and mutual pining but in truth I’m suffering the whole time lmao. I think there’s no further proof that I’m a masochist than the amount of them I read. Forced proximity is always fun, especially with unintentional bonding/intimacy. Love love love themes with mental health issues. Hurt/comfort and angst with a happy ending are also like, the good shit. Oooh and let’s not forget touch starvation. Although one of my favourite tropes in the kylux fandom is the ‘overly specific au’ fics that we have. It’s like a specialty here and I love it

As for pairings, I tend to only write one at a time, so right now it’s just kylux. I like some others (finnrey, stormpilot, benpoe, reysma, etc.) but my general fandom experience is one ship grabbing me by the short hairs and that’s just what I do now haha. I have branched out on occasion before, so who knows, maybe it will happen again?

Do you have a favorite fic of yours?

This is... really difficult tbh. There’s a handful that have special places in my heart (as in mostly the long ones lmao; anything 10k+ is a miracle for me). But if I had to choose, I would pick Fractured. Not necessarily because I think it’s my best story or the one that I would most want to read if I hadn’t written it, but because from a storytelling standpoint it is by far the most difficult and ambitious thing I’ve ever done. Because of the way I did it (and I honestly believe the way I did it was the way I had to do it) with the flashbacks basically made it 2 stories in one, except those 2 stories were also part of a larger, third story that combined them both. Editing was a nightmare (reading just the present scenes, just the past scenes, and then the whole thing together to make sure the flow worked after every chapter, plus all the usual nightmares of editing), the subject matter was heavy and hard to write, and the whole thing took me a year to actually get ready to even post. It was gruelling and it was basically just me sitting by myself for a year bouncing ideas around until they congealed enough to actually be a story lmao. I have never outlined so much in my life. But I’m also obscenely proud of how it turned out given all I went through to make it exist, which is why I’m picking it

Your fic with the most kudos?

This award goes to Touch which, while I’m not really surprised by that, is a fic I still have a complicated relationship with. It was my second ever kylux fic and the first with smut and also my true introduction to the absolutely insane amount of feedback you can get in a big fandom (as compared to my previous one, at least). However, it was also the fic where I had accidentally copied another writer in a few sections. Even though we worked it out, I apologized, both publicly and privately, and made some edits as well as giving credit to the author, I still feel bad about it nearly 2 years later. It’s the one fic of mine I really don’t think about often as a result, despite it’s success

Anything you don’t like about your writing?

I wish I was better at holding the flow/continuity. This is a large part of why I don’t write a lot of long fics, but I just have so much trouble with it. As a result, you may have noticed that I do a lot of timeskips, which leaves my longer fics as basically just all the scenes I thought where important with nothing between them except horizontal lines. And I know a bad scene transition is worse than just doing a jump, but damn, I really wish I could get things to flow better in that specific regard. Inside a scene? Easy, I can do that. But getting my scenes to link together into a coherent narrative with an overarching plot? Eh, not confident I pull that off very well. I think the way I do it does work, but I also think the stories would be better if I could find a way to not do that

Now something you do like?

I really do think I do a good job at writing in character and particularly in getting inside the character’s heads. From what I can tell, I tend to write more like an rper than I do an actual author in that I’m basically getting into the character’s heads and letting it evolve organically from there. Sure, I have a basic plan as to where things are going, but the little details and the introspection tend to be more gleaned in the moment from what the character wants. I love getting into deep POV and I think I do a good job of it. I’ve had some people tell me my writing is too introspective but like, that is what I enjoy in fic, both reading and writing. And also that is how I experience the world; my ultimate goal is to make the reader really understand what it’s like to experience the world as the character who’s perspective I’m writing from. And I think I am moderately successful at that, though I’m sure I still have more to learn

Shes such a babe omg shes so sweet and the other day she bumped into me kind of and only our hands touched and she was like “I just wanted to hold your hand <3″ and oH BOY DID I SWOON I DIDNT EVEN KNOW HOW TO RESPOND LMAO also my friend Claudia <333 a while back we were hanging out and I was feeling really awkward bc they were all servers and talking about server stuff and I’m a cook and dont really know wtf theyre talking about but she went out of her way to include me and make me and honestly she really reminded me of Hide and I’d always had a crush on her but I fell head over heals for her right then and there lmao.... Theres also this girl I’d just met that honestly I barely know but she messaged me so casually and she was so sweet when she talked to me and made me feel so appreciated I got a lil bit of a crush on her lmao;; She said I was beautiful and I about died. And last but not least theres this guy I work with, Emiliano, and when he first started I had a crush on his cuz he was awkward like me and also lowkey really cute but them this fuckin dipshit manager kevin said some stupid shit to him that made him start looking down on me bc obviously this was his first restaurant job; he had no sense of urgency whatsoever and was completely unaware of his surroundings and after that hed always be side eyeing me through the shift which would really piss me off but it didnt take long for him to realize despite kevin talking shit that one time im good at my job and I work really hard. Especially when hed see kevin coming to me to ask quesions and learning from me bc hes new and didnt really understand the positions at first, and especially after I started training the new prep cooks and he over heard them complaining because “””””its just so much all at once”””””” which yea you have to do a lot all at once, but its not as hard as it seems at first, youll get the hang of it. No one expects you to be amazing at first, prep is just one of those things that every day you do it you find a better way to manage your time and improve. It just gets easier and easier. But yea anyway over time we got closer and closer and now I think I really like him??? Hes such a cutie omg and hes so funny... hes awkward and quiet but once he comes out of his shell hes so cute and funny and sweet... The other day after taking like 5 hits off my friends dab pen I noticed he looks at me a lot when Im not looking and tbh that made me so happy... I like him so much lmao;;

i’m back at it again with that prince seongwoo au because we needa pROPER ENDING for it LMAOO also i edited the milkis logo onto the glass bc it was originally beer but YKNOW THERES NO DRINKING ALLOWED FOR PRINCE SEONGWOO AT LEAST

Here’s Prince! Seongwoo Pt 1 for all yall who need back story dhfjd

the next day

you were just kind of chilling at the library sorting books in their places like ya always do

when you hard a bunch of commotion towards the front of the library, rushing to the front you see the librarian at the back of the crowd equally as confused

“what’s going on?”

the librarian started laughing and just kind of shrugged

“i’m not too sure myself! would you like to go to the front and find out what all the commotion is about?”

you simply nod your head and start pushing your way to the front

while you were making your way to the front you started noticing that the crowd was basically 90% girls and 10% guys who were just very confused as to what was going on and when you could see the front you wree pretty sure you were ready to just turn around and act like nothing was happening

“oh my god he’s actually here”

but it was too late to just run away because daniel spotted you with his HAWK eyes and instantly dove towards you grabbing your wrist

“Y/N hey! We were looking for you! Where were you??”

once he pulled you to the front you met the gaze of Seongwoo who was just giving you a sweet smile

he was also not wearing his usual princely attire and was in regular clothes with just made you like think “wow he’s even more handsome in regular clothes”

you could feel your cheeks starting to get a bit hot so you just looked down and mumbled

“i was yknow, doing my job like i always do here”

seongwoo just chuckled a little and daniel just laughed which you were confused about because you literally did not say anything funny ???

but at the same time their laughs sounded like more nervous laughs which also didn’t make sense because you were pretty sure you were 110% more nervous about this whole situation

you weren’t even sure why you were nervous you just were

(lmao me whenever i meet new people in my head im like “ya bettter not say anything stupid” me 10 seconds later “so like we all hate homework right?” HDKFHD)

“ok well um where should we hang out?”

looking up you noticed seongwoo walking towards the crowd instantly making them part like wow ofc they would part for the prince

when you guys got towards the end of the crowd, you noticed the librarian with her jaw basically dropped

“y/n and daniel! you didn’t tell me you guys were going to have a special visitor today! i would’ve made the place look nicer and not so dusty!”

seongwoo instantly started shaking his head and waved his head around in a cute way

“no no no! it’s okay! this place is so nice and beautiful I wouldn’t want you changing it”

you lowkey heard girls in the crowd swoon which made you roll your eyes because honestly you were already swooning the second you saw him at the end of the crowd

he was like the light at the end of the tunnel

wait what your mind totally isn’t thinking that right now

or is it?

ANYWAYS you guys ended up sitting at a very secluded part of the library thats blocked off because you guys really wouldn’t be able to be comfortable with girls swooning over seongwoo left and right

also this is where you and daniel are when you both sneak food into the library because the librarian never checks this spot LMAO

you guys are pretty sure she has forgotten that this secluded part has even existed

so like usual daniel put down the bag he was holding and started bringing out all the drinks and the food

one of them specifically caught seongwoo’s eye and you honestly found it adorable

“do you want that one seongwoo??”

before he could respond daniel literally dropped the rest of the food he was trying to set down nicely on the table and grabbed the drink

“oops HAHA that’s my favorite drink and i forgot to bring more for you guys so sorry!”

you kind of just gave him the “are you for real now” face and he just kind of laughed while rubbing the back of his neck

standing up you checked your pockets for money and noticed you had enough for just one so you started to leave

“i’m gonna go get one for seongwoo bc we have a fake friend who doesn’t know how to share”

while you were leaving the library you could literally hear daniel groaning and gripping about what you probably said which you didn’t really care for bc

he knew it was a joke

but anyways before you were even able to step foot outside the library you noticed that seongwoo was already walking next to you

“what are you doing?”

“coming with you to get a drink”

“i was gonna get you a drink and come back”

“well i can’t let my beautiful old best friend go alone right?”

you felt yourself blush a little again and just shoved seongwoo slightly

“gosh just compliment yourself, you have all the good looks”

after you said that you noticed that seongwoo suddenly went quiet so you took a quick glance at him and noticed that he was smiling to himself but trying not to show it

but it was totally obvious lmao

“are you that happy i called you handsome?”

“basically yeah”

you smiled to yourself too and you both just kept on walking to the local shop

once you both arrived at the place that served the drinks you both took a seat and ordered

“you’re going to love this drink”

“since daniel loves it so much I’ll probably love it too”

you laughed and seongwoo just smiled again while looking at you laugh

“you’re so cute”

you instantly stopped laughing and just gave seongwoo a really confused face which made him really flustered and he started pointed behind you

“i-i mean the drink! it looks so cute that i wanted to point it out”

the waiter placed down the drinks and bowed towards seongwoo before leaving

“star treatment for prince seongwoo hmm i wonder if they’ll make this drink free??”

he chuckled before placing a couple of bills on the table

“i don’t like to use my royalty as an advantage, i’m just like everyone else yknow? i don’t see a point in acting like i’m at a higher standard.”

nodding you were suddenly reminded of how genuine seongwoo was when you guys were younger and realized that even though you both may be grown up, he probably hasn’t changed much.

he did look more handsome though, like breathtakingly handsome

like when you two were younger he wasn’t the best looking but you fell for his personality but now wow he was like the total package, tall, great looks and a great personality?! any girl would be lucky to have him

seongwoo picked up the drink and examined it before giving you a weird look

“is this watered down milk?”

you literally laughed out loud for a second and shook your head

“no! just try it!”

he gave one more glance at your before gulping down a ton of the drink

“woah!”

he gulped the drink down and just flashed you a huge smile

“this is so good?? I didn’t think it would taste like this!”

you chuckled a little watching seongwoo looking so excited trying out a new drink

“oof i think i found my new favorite drink!”

he started to order more and you both just started talking,

mainly catching up since you guys missed a few years with each other

“wait you’re telling me that you left daniel on purpose back there??”

“yeah i just wanted to spend time with you because yknow, i spend time with daniel almost every day”

“why though? we all could’ve hung out together!”

he laughed awkwardly and just looked down at his drink

which just so happened to be his 5th drink in a row

you were starting to get a bit concerned for how fast he was drinking them

but back to the story

he looked up at you again and took one of your hands that were resting on the table

“okay i know you probably don’t want to hear this but remember when i suddenly stopped talking to you a couple years back?”

you nodded your head slowly and just watched seongwoo as he took a deep breathe in

“well my parents wouldn’t really let me see you because...”

“because?? was i like too rowdy? should i apologize to your parents?”

he chuckled a little and shook his head

“noo, it was because i liked you, i really liked you and they found out and they weren’t the happiest people in the world because you weren’t really royalty and all we did really in front of them was mess around”

you just slowly nodded your head in response

“so you..liked me before?”

“no i still like you now-”

his eyes instantly widened and he just kind of let go of your hand to put his hand over his mouth like “wow i just done and did it now”

but for you tbh ohoho a huge smile was forming on your face that you couldn’t really hide

but i mean you weren’t really trying to hide it anyways

“you like me seongwoo~”

you teased him a little and noticed his ears turned a little red

“shut up y/n i know you don’t like me back so no need to tease me”

“wait hold up i didn’t say that”

he looked up at you and you just kind of like looked down because wow his gaze was intense and you were just not prepared for it

but after taking a moment to like gather your thoughts you grabbed one of his hands and looked at him inthe eyes

“how should i say this? ong seongwoo prince of our kingdom but doesn’t really act like a prince, i like you. and no not because you just confessed to me, i like actually like you, have ever since a year before you stopped talking to me”

now you could see the smile forming on his face and you felt yourself melting a little because of the way his eyes were just crinkling in happiness and his smile was just so sweet and pure

you were admitting that you are literally still whipped for seongwoo

“so are we a thing now then? because i would really like for that to happen”

sipping on your drink you kind of gave him a weird look

“you just said your parents didn’t really like me?”

seongwoo smiled a little and just shook his head

“at the party last night after you left and i danced with you my parents came up to me and told me that we looked good together. I told them it was you and that you were just messing around with me when we were younger and let me just tell you that my mom said that i should try getting you back”

“getting me back?”

he laughed a little and looked a little shy

“she said i should get you back because it looked obvious that i still liked you from how i looked like when i talked to you”

while you two were walking back to the library seongwoo casually slipped his hand in yours and squeezed your hand a little

“yknow, we should thank daniel for this”

“for what?”

“forcing you to go to the party! i’ve been wanted to talk to you but i just didn’t know how, i thought you hated me”

“i honestly thought you hated me too?? you just stopped talking to me and daniel didn’t tell me why-”

“wait daniel didn’t tell you that i like you? oof i’m gonna need to talk to him later forget about thanking him”

you just laughed and looked down at the both of you holding hands

“are you sure it’s just okay to be walking around like this? shouldn’t we become an official, official thing?”

seongwoo shrugged and let go of your hand to move his hand around your waist and pulled you closer

“this is how we’re telling people that we’re a thing!”

you were honestly so surprised you heart was about out fall out of your chest from it beating so hard

but you were really happy though because honestly even though daniel forced you to something you initially didn’t want to go to,

he kind of just actually gave you a gift

once you both arrived back to the library and the secluded place daniel looked up with jellies in his mouth to see seongwoo’s arm wrapped around your waist

he huffed a little and just looked back down at a random book, chewing on his jellies

“so you guys leave me for a good minute to become a couple and do couple things? I had to eat all this because it was just rotting away here!”

“daniel food doesn’t rot within two hours”

“it does when my best friends take too long because they’re flirting with each other”

you both laughed and blushed a little while daniel huffed again

I generally prefer second generation??? I think????? I like a bit of all of them tho. but like there is no definitive answer to when each of the generations start and end so like I don't even know??? but most of my fav groups as far as music goes are older around 2nd gen but a fair amount of them are gen 3, I have a really strong love for kpop that was released between 2009-2014.

Tell me a fun childhood story (I’ll start! One time an aunt gave me money to buy ‘papas’ (potatoes) at the grocery store so bc I’m obedient af I went and asked the counter lady how many of em could I buy with the money I had so she went ‘uhh, not many tbh’ so i ended up getting like two and when I returned to my aunt’s house she laughed her ass off and said: I meant ‘papas fritas’ (potato chips) Not those! - and uh yeah this is funnier in Spanish but it proves that I’m such an innocent angel I mean wow)

ok so I spent a lot of time at my aunt Lori’s house when I was a kid (like summers, and after school) and my cousin was the BUG queen so she hand made leashes for her pet toads (that she caught) and we walked them around on leashes for like a week but I was always so afraid of them and also hurting them so I WAS NOT ABOUT THAT ahahaha dumb story but it makes me laugh alsoalsoalsdo they had this bench swing in their back yard and my cousin my sister and I would swing on it together for hours at a time and one time we were swinging real hard (REAL HARD) and the links?? or whatever that held it to the ceiling it was hanging from snapped and the three of us of us flew off of it and we all collectively blacked out??? it was so weird but I woke up to my cousin stuggling to get me off of her and then there lays my sister underneath the bench just blacked out chilling (she was fine) then my aunt came running out cause she had just heard the loudest crash ahsdfasdf not long after my uncle put stronger links on it and that bench is still there! From time to time when the three of us get together this story gets brought up its still the most hilarious thing ( ALSO CLOUD YOU ARE SO PURE I LOVE)

junghee/taeyeon; a fic dump; pg

one time i watched the mv for joan jett’s bad reputation and i wanted to write a Short Small drabble au where jung was a punky biker babe that listened to bad reputation on repeat while actually caring Very Much about her bad reputation and tae was a punky biker babe that Actually didn’t care about her bad reputation

but then i thought about it too much and it got too long and it turned into like ???? two separate fics???? but one??? like i was gonna do Each Scene Two Times to be both from jung’s and tae’s pov and like listen the point is i’m never gonna finish it lmao so here it is

Taeyeon enters her life in a silent whoosh of denim and indifference.

Taeyeon, to Junghee, is a long list of small moments that feel like eternities.

When she first meets Taeyeon, it’s nothing more than a glance. Junghee is the new girl around (in this part of town, anyway), moved with her family and using the unsettlement and stress as an excuse to take as many more months off from looking for a job as she possibly can. She’s going on five years out of high school, her anxiety only getting worse as her father finally leaves her mother to take care of her and her sister fully. What relief she did feel at his departure was quickly forced out by money worry, bills and necessities and the capitalistic push to sell herself and be useful in order to deserve life. At least her mother supports her gender.

Her previous dips into the whole punky, back-alley-biker, young adult rebel scene were tentative, quick. She knew too many people at the hangout by her old home. Too many people that would see right through her new look, know her whole attitude was a lie. This new area is a fresh start. The people sharing cigarettes between the videogame shop and the auto parts store don’t know her heavy lidded eyes and rouged cheeks are there to change her frequent glances down into boredom and hide her involuntary blushes. The groups parked out in the drive-in theatre won’t guess that her studded jackets and spiked jewelry are to intimidate people away out of fear instead of disdain. No one loitering around the other small shops at night will suspect her long brown ponytail is left simple and inconspicuous to avoid attention.

When she first meets Taeyeon, it’s her third day on the scene. Gwiboon has already made friends with her and she’s leaning on the hood of Gwiboon’s car, playing with the end of her ponytail and just glancing up at the rest of the area every so often. Gwiboon chatters to whoever next to her, not forcing her to talk but not excluding her either, and she picks at her nails and appreciates the protection and company.

Taeyeon enters her life in a silent whoosh of denim and indifference. She’s with two others, and it’s their legs that Junghee sees first block her unfocused view of the ground. Blinking and looking up, her eyes follow ripped black skinnies, one hand in a butt pocket and another around a waist, a studded jean jacket, and dirty blonde hair framing a face that makes Junghee’s breath leave her lungs.

Taeyeon taps Gwiboon and mumbles something that Junghee doesn’t hear because she’s too lost in the heavy makeup around her eyes, the plush outline of her lips, the sharp line of her jaw. Gwiboon nods and waves her away, and that’s when she looks at Junghee.

Junghee watches Taeyeon’s dark eyes look her up and down and feels like she’s being searched all the way to her soul. She meets Junghee’s gaze for half a second before she looks away and keeps walking with the other two, no reaction, no greeting, no nothing.

It was just a look, just a glance, not even two seconds, but Junghee feels that moment lingering on her body for the rest of the night.

Junghee, to Taeyeon, is a short list of drawn-out experiences that are never long enough.

jung was so gorgeous and so interesting and tae wishes she stayed back and talked to her and introduced herself and she keeps looking back at her across the parking lot for the whole night

and then they get to know each other more i guess i tbh never planned this part out

“Oh, fuck.”

“Hmm?” Taeyeon lifts her gaze from the syrup rail she’s been lazily wiping down for the passed few minutes. Jessica doesn’t reply; her coworker is squinting through the windows in front of the parlor and whispering more curses under her breath.

“Don’t do it you fuck,” she hisses. “Don’t do it, don’t you fucking do it, I just put away the--” Taeyeon watches with a slow blink as the person outside grabs the door handle and lets themself inside, ten minutes before closing. “God, boys are trash,” Jessica breathes, and then, “Hi! Welcome to Baskin Robbins,” she smiles, bright and peppy and excited. Taeyeon snorts and goes back to her cleaning. The assumption of their customer’s gender nags at the back of her mind but she’s honestly too tired to even grumble about it. She’s never listened to anyway. Here, her quiet is taken as rudeness and introversion instead of thoughtfulness and authority.

She folds her rag after wiping off one final speck of dust, stuffing it in her back pocket and pulling her pen out instead to scribble her initials down on the task list. Looking up to glance at their latest customer as they look over the flavors, soft brown eyes and a telling mole between their collarbones make her do a doubletake. Oh.

“Jess, I’ll take them if you wash the sinks for me,” she mumbles, stepping by the register and tapping Jessica’s elbow to get her attention.

“Oh, nice, thanks,” Jessica says, and leaves for the cleaning stuff without looking back. Taeyeon leans up on the counter, quietly watching their late customer bite their lip and wiggle a finger contemplatively between regular vanilla and vanilla cake batter ice cream. After another moment, they look up, scan for an employee, and find Taeyeon.

She doesn’t do a doubletake, but by the way she starts and then bites her lip even deeper, one hand lifting to twist in her shirt collar, Taeyeon confirms that it’s Junghee and knows that Junghee recognizes her too.

“Hey J,” she says.

“Oh. Um. Hi,” Junghee mumbles, almost whispers. The tight grip she has on her collar almost hides the way her hand shakes. “I didn’t know you, um. Worked here,” she says. Taeyeon shrugs. No one does, really.

“If I was at the Baskin Robins by the hangout no one would ever leave me alone,” she says. This location is far enough away that none of the usual skaters or bikers come by and recognize her. Except one, apparently.

She keeps seeing Junghee try to reach for her ponytail to twist and hold, but her hand keeps twitching through thin air.

“Can I get a small vanilla cake batter, please,” Junghee manages to say. “No toppings.”

“Mmhmm.” Taeyeon slides easily to the ice cream, grabbing the scoop that Jessica just cleaned and reaching into the vanilla cake batter bin. As she’s digging up the usual amount, she glances at Junghee again. Her lips are just as thick and plush looking without any dark lipstick dramatizing them. Her lashes are shorter without mascara but still long enough to fan over her unconotured cheeks as she stares at the floor.

“I’ll be done cleaning up soon,” she says as she plops Junghee’s scoop into the small cup. “You should wait around for me. We can chill.” It’ll be just like when they chill with the others at the ice cream shop by the hangout, only just the two of them. Junghee glances at her anxiously as she plucks a napkin from the dispenser on top of the counter.

“Sure,” she says. Taeyeon hands her the ice cream, Junghee hands her a five, Taeyeon hands her her change, and Junghee walks out of the shop into the night. Taeyeon watches her scoot down the sidewalk a little bit for a moment before taking the scoop to rewash. She finishes cleaning up the shop with Jessica, rewiping the counters, organizing and washing the cabinets, sweeping and mopping the floor. When she’s done, she grabs her jacket from the break room and leaves Jessica to do the final lock up of everything.

Stepping outside, Taeyeon runs her fingers through her hair, pushing it out of her face so she can look around. The warm breeze sends stray leaves scuttling across the cement of the sidewalk. The sky is a dusky, almost light blue as the summer stars twinkle down at her. One lone soul on a skateboard rolls through the parking lot and two empty ice cream cups sit out on one of the umbrella tables in front of the shop.

No Junghee.

Taeyeon sighs as she starts forward to grab the garbage some anus left for her to clean up. She guesses she can’t blame Junghee for leaving. It’s been almost twenty minutes and she wasn’t exactly her usual self. She won’t lie and say she didn’t like how Junghee looked in just a simple tank top and jeans, but it definitely wasn’t her normal tough girl leather and lace look.

The empty cups aren’t sticky, which she is incredibly grateful for as she picks them up. There’s a dumpster between the parlor and the bookstore next to it so that’s where she goes, holding the cups away from her as she shuffles tiredly over the sidewalk. As she nears the corner, she hears a faint, muffled song and the familiar distorted crackles of cheap headphones playing too loudly. She recognizes the song, too, and so isn’t surprised when she enters the little alley to find Junghee leaning up against the wall and quickly trying to apply thick eyeliner with her phone as a mirror.

She doesn’t have her regular studded leather jacket, but she’s pulled a dark jacket on over her tank top anyway. The hood is up and her long brown ponytail drapes over her shoulder, quickly finger-brushed and a little more mussed than usual. It looks like she’s almost done with her face, too, and Taeyeon has to be impressed with how well she’s done so quickly, even if her blush is a little heavier than usual.

Taeyeon tosses the cups into the open dumpster, then stuffs her hands into her pockets and leans up on the wall next to Junghee. As she does so, the song playing from the headphones dangling over Junghee’s ear fades out and then starts again right away. Taeyeon snorts.

“For someone that listens to ‘Bad Reputation’ on repeat, you sure care a lot about your reputation,” she says. Junghee glances at her, bites a dark burgundy lip, looks back to her reflection and finishes bringing her eyeliner to a point.

“Mmhmm,” she hums. Taeyeon watches her put her eyeliner pencil into her bag, hesitate, and then take out her mascara wand next.

“Why?” Taeyeon asks.

“What?” Junghee asks, uncapping it and bringing it to her left eye. Taeyeon shifts closer to watch the fuzzy little bristles roll over her lashes.

“Why are you always fixing your makeup and doing your hair and making sure you look perfectly badass?” she asks. She knows it’s not vanity, and even if it was, it seems kind of unnecessary here, with just the two of them, miles away from anyone else that would care. Junghee glances at her again, but stays silent as she does her lashes. When she’s done, she puts her phone and mascara into her bag and shrugs, looking at her fingers picking at the chipped paint at the wall.

“You mean, like, besides the crushing fear of, uh. You know, like.” She waves her hand in little circles, gestures at Taeyeon, gestures at her done up face, rubs her hand self-consciously over her throat. She has no bandana to cover it tonight, apparently.

“Violent transmisogyny?” Taeyeon guesses. Junghee flinches; it’s a little movement, but Taeyeon still catches it and frowns at herself for being so bluntly right. “Sorry,” she mumbles. She didn’t mean to give Junghee more anxiety. Junghee keeps looking down as she shakes her head.

“It’s fine,” she mumbles.

“Don’t lie to me,” Taeyeon snaps. She might be far from her usual element, but she still won’t let people act like she can’t fuck up. Her tone brings Junghee’s eyes to hers, big and guilty but not as scared as before.

“Sorry,” she says. Taeyeon reaches up to fix her hood up straighter as an acceptance of that apology. Junghee leans minutely closer to her touch and lifts a sleeve-covered hand to squish her bottom lip. “Besides that,” she mumbles. “Dysphoria, and, you know, confidence.” She shrugs. Taeyeon shrugs back. Not how she deals with dysphoria, but she gets it. If Junghee doesn’t want anyone she knows to see her undone up, then Taeyeon will do her best to forget how she looked when she walked into the shop. “Plus I like how when I kiss people the lipstick rubs off on them,” Junghee adds. Taeyeon snorts.

“Yeah?” she asks, raising her brows. That’s as good of a reason as any other she’s ever heard. She leans her forearm on the wall and her head on her forearm, looking down at Junghee quietly. She didn’t know the new girl in her gang made a habit of kissing anyone. She wonders what it would be like, to have those thick lips pressed against hers. Nice, probably.

“Do you kiss people a lot?” she asks.

u know what??? u know the whole reason i started this au??? was to have tae pulling a v anxious jung to sit on the hood of her car and make out behind the ice cream shop??? like that was it??? that was all i wanted to write??? and then i was a fucking gremlin and made it rly big and then i never got around to writing it and then it was Too big and then when i Finally wrote the one part that was supposed to Lead to the original idea u kno what i did??? i never fuckin finished it

but tae takes her to the regular hangout since she got herself all done up and then they don't make out that night bc jongs busy being wiggly and anxious but after another few nights they make out on the hood of taes car behind the baskin robins at the hangout and its Good

okay we gotta agree that they are both really terrible lmao but i’d choose being 50% invisible just because being able to fly for 0.5cm is really troublesome (like if you move your feet a bit downward you might hit the floor and fall lol). Also bc you’d look like a ghost it’ll be fun to mess around wth people :3

3. if you had to pick one astro member to be your older or younger brother who would it be and why?

Honestly? I’ve been feeling so trashy lately bc it’s holidays and yet i have so much work but i didn’t start any of it and i feel guilty whenever i think about it :c But leaving that aside,I’m proud of how my sketching/drawing skills improved in such a short time (less than four months) and also how my classmates consider me a reference when it comes to creativty/colors/new ideas and all that (last time my teacher even ordered them to applaud me for bringing up the Semicolon Project sdwsdwsdws). Oh! and I’m focusing a lot more on helping/pleasing my parents lately (bc that matters hella lots to me tbh). and finally I got way better in baking/ making desserts that now i make my own changes in recipe :3 (that was so long omg i’m so sorry but then again thank you for this!!)

Taehyung oh my god oh my god oh mygo Okay so considering I didn’t faint yet and i’m still in my best health conditions, and even though I’d reaaaallly want to go up to him, i think i’ll have to keep my cool and stay where i am seated. Because, honestly, i’ve always thought it was inconsiderate and even rude of fans to follow/jump on their idols and cause a fuss while they’re clearly trying to have some quality time for themselves and take a break from the chaos. so what would that make me? If he randomly glances my way i’d just smile at him or something, and if i had my fanarts with me or something to write on (which i usually do) i’d write down a short encouraging letter filled with love and give it to him on my way out, while trying my best to not cause a fuss and be as quiet as possible.

11. finally, is there anyone youd love to get closer to or want to say something to on here?? heres your time to express your love!!

um honestly (challenge: take a shot for every time i said ‘honestly’ in this post) there isn’t a specific person i’d like to get closer to, but the fact that everyone here has their ‘squad’ (and my best friends don’t really use tumblr D:) and everyone is always happily chatting and tagging each other in funny pictures and stuff while i’m just there like, um, hi?? makes me feels kinda lonely. and i don’t have the courage to just go ahead and talk to people because i either think they’re too awesome for me or that i’ll just be bothering them. and this is probably why i appreciate all the few interactions i receive here bc it makes me feel like hey i’m actually accepted here or i’m actually good at something and people like what i do.

Alrighty since some of you are interested....

Yesterday I went on a date with a guy from my Biology class (a Virgo whom I will refer to as C) and it was honestly so great, I get giddy whenever I think about it.

This past Tuesday I was talking to C after class and telling him that he had to go see Thor: Ragnarok and was just about to ask if he wanted to go with me to see it when this other guy in the class (who isn’t the most socially perceptive person..) jumped into the conversation and told C that he’d take him to see the movie and I was just standing there like

THIS MOTHERFUCKER JUST STOLE MY DATE!!

But I wasn’t having any of that so I jumped in and was like “mind if I tag along too?” and so the 3 of us planned to see the movie on Friday but I was highkey still bitter that the other guy was going cause I was like I WANTED A DATE WITH C!!! ALOOONNEEEE!

But then C and I were texting the next day and he told me that he was also about to ask me if I wanted to go see the movie with him and then asked me if I wanted the other guy to go with us and I wanted to say NO I JUST WANT IT TO BE THE TWO OF US but instead I said that I didn’t really know the guy but that I’d feel bad if I said I didn’t want him to go, which was true but like I didn’t want him to go lmao

So he and I texted and talked a lot the rest of the week leading up to the movie and by then we were also planning to go get this really really good chicken soup in town that he’d never tried before after the movie, just the 2 of us, so I was much less bitter about the other guy crashing the first part of our date.

So we got into the theater and the other guy was already there sitting in the last row in the corner when the theater was virtually empty and C and I were like Um?? and then the 3 of us moved over to the middle of that row.

During the previews C and I were talking and flirting and shit and wow can I just say that I was on my A game last night like damn I’m impressed with myself rn tbh I don’t think I’ve ever been that charming in my life

We also spoke a few times during the movie at particularly hilarious moments

(travel time interlude!)

So while we were waiting for our order that we got to-go, we went outside and talked and got to know each other a bit more and at one point he just kind of paused and looked at me and asked if I have a boyfriend and I was like “pFFT NO I’ve never had a boyfriend” and he was SHOOK to learn that he was like “how?? you’re so amazing and you’re beautiful” and I was like “well guys tend to be intimidated by me” and he was like “because you’re smart??” and I laughed and told him no it’s because i’ve got a resting bitch face that could kill a man, which he vehemently disagreed with me about.

I also then learned that he’s 21 and then it was my turn to be shook because holy fuck I was on a date with a 21 YEAR OLD AND I DONT KNOW HOW TO DEAL WITH THAT

After some more talking he just smiled really big and wrapped his arms around me and was like “I can’t believe that something like this could happen” and I just OKAY CAN I JUST SAY THAT I DO NOT BLUSH EASILY. AT ALL. BUT THE WHOLE 7 AND A HALF HOURS WE WERE TOGETHER HE KEPT MAKING ME BLUSH LIKE OH MY GOD

Then I got a text from one of my very good friends who got home that same day and she was asking if I wanted to go to our high school to watch the football team’s playoff game and I was like sure! cause I miss her but at the same time I didn’t want to end my date with C cause I was having a really really good time and wow he is so incredible and wonderful and sweet and I just :’)))

so I asked him if he wanted to go to the game with me and he quickly agreed because he didn’t want the date to be over either so we got our soup and left for my old stomping grounds.........he got lost on the way over there, which was funny.

Since I got there before he did and I was beginning to panic because I was realizing that I really like this guy and I don’t know how to process emotions and I felt like I was going to puke from all the feelings I was feeling, I FaceTimed my best friend and word vomited the whole time. She encouraged me to continue being myself and to just breathe and such. She also was like “OOH YOU GUYS SHOULD WALK IN HOLDING HANDS!” to which I yelled NO I AM NERVOUS AND MY HANDS SWEAT WHEN I’M NERVOUS

but then he found his way to the campus so I ran over to meet him and as soon as I saw him (this is cheesy how gross) I just calmed down and felt good again.

So we were walking over to the stands and I cracked a joke and he high fived me and then he was like “oh my god Katie your hands are freezing, let me warm them up” and held my hand and I was like OH MY GOD A SLICK BOI HERE

(side note, I am leaving a lot of things out so that I can try to keep this post shorter)

We got there right after the game started and we didn’t really pay attention at all because we were just talking the whole time and he was so touchy (in a really sweet and affectionate way and we all know how affection deprived I am) and I loved it and he kept playing with my hair and brushing it out of my face and he kept telling me how amazing, incredible, beautiful, adorable, cute, and funny I am and that he loves my laugh and my eyes and my personality and all this sweet stuff

His eyes are really expressive too and at some point during the game I could just see in his eyes as he fell head over heels for me, like I’m really not exaggerating. He even told me that he wants me to meet his parents and his brothers and his adorable baby nephew and talking about future dates we could go on and ow my heart :’))))

We paid attention to the game when we realized there was literally one minute left and it was really stressful and intense and I almost started crying tbh but MY BOYS WON AND I’M REALLY PROUD OF THEM! I also saw a lot of my children who are now seniors at the game and I almost cried again because a lot of them I hadn’t seen since before I graduated in June

Anyways so C and I left and headed for the parking lot and we held hands the whole time and talked about how we both love stargazing and he asked if I’d want to go stargazing with him some time and on the inside I was freaking out a lot because that’s my goddamn dream date but on the outside I only freaked out a little and said that I’d love to

We got to my car and he kissed my hand and he looked at me and was like “I want to kiss you, but I won’t tonight”

and I agreed because I GOT REALLY NERVOUS BECAUSE I REALLY WANTED TO KISS HIM BUT I HAVEN’T EXACTLY HAD MY FIRST KISS AND I GOT SCARED BECAUSE AS MUCH AS I CRAVE AFFECTION AND EMOTIONAL INTIMACY I ALSO FEAR IT

He and I stood outside my car for a few minutes and he was like “I don’t want to leave; I don’t want to say goodbye” and so I said “Then we’ll say see you soon” and he agreed to that and gave me one last hug (of many that day/night) and walked off to his car, after telling me to drive safely and such.

It was then that I realized my chemistry teacher was parked right next to me and he was like “Hi Katie~” all teasing like and I was like “shit fuck outta here Jared”

and then I drove home with a huge smile on my face the whole time

and that was our 7 and a half hour first date. it was rad.
