Christian, if you want to know how to feel more anchored in turbulent, digital sociopolitical times, surround yourself with online voices who know right from wrong (i.e. compare their words to God’s Word). listen to what they have to say about a thing before you listen to what the other side has to say (chances are you already know intuitively what the other side has to say)

and this bit is more controversial: insofar as you can, drastically reduce the noise from people who don’t know right from wrong. don’t try to utterly block it out, for two reasons: 1. know thine enemy, and 2. you can’t, unless you live on a compound in the wilderness.

this will look different for everyone. one example in my case was going through the artists I follow on Instagram and unfollowing all the ones who posted propaganda on a regular basis. yeah, that meant unfollowing a lot of extremely popular and very talented artists, but the gap has been filled by artists who are just as skilled, if not more. even better, I’m not being daily inundated with philosophical falsehoods expressed so subtly they fly under my discernment radar and infect my belief system.

I no longer follow people or entities who regularly express views that truth and/or morality are subjective. this is the number one issue. you must believe in objective truth and morality to have conviction about anything. you would be surprised at how eliminating this one delusion from your feed eliminates a host of other toxic ideas.

Ask yourself: Would I go out of my way to hang around this person or regularly consume their content back before the internet existed? If the answer is no, you don’t need them in your life or in your pocket in order to be a well-rounded person.

One of the best danmei novels I've read...so many wonderful and interesting characters, each could easily be the MC of their own story and I'd read their books! The beauty of the known is often looked upon and taken for granted as something that shouldn’t be cherished. Because it’s comfortable, unexciting, predictable, trustworthy, and completely capable of making you yawn with boredom. But the thing is that the true beauty lies in what is expected, what you already know, in all of the things you can replay in your mind even before they happen.

You know it all, from the long pauses to the hesitation, the doubt in every word silently marked with an interrogation point. The uncertainty beneath the “I made a chicken pie for dinner”, it’s all so foolish to some, but to me, it’s the most wholesome thing that could ever exist in this world.

Love is overrated, not because it is a frivolous thing but because people often over-glamourize it as everything that it is not. Real love is not being excited to see your significant other every day, it’s not the urge to touch them nor the need to hear their voice. Real love is not marked by excitement but in fact, it’s nothing more than comfort.

When we’re young we have this vision that love will sweep us off our feet every day for the rest of our lives, and then reality hits us and love becomes everything that’s not advertised on TV shows or movies.

What makes our love special is not the two honeymoons spent on the Caribbean sea, but all of our endless crying and praying sessions on the kitchen floor at 3 am because we had no idea how we would pay the rent.

“Yeah, why?” I ask, incapable of keeping the soft smile off my lips. Sipping on my cup of coffee, I mentally mimicked her as she squinted her eyes “Are you sure?” She asks, a hint of uncertainty coating her words, “You’re looking at me funny”.

“Funny?” I chuckled “That’s an interesting choice of word. I wouldn’t say ‘funny’ but rather something deeper”.

“Oh yeah?” She teased, “Like what?”

“Admiration perhaps?” I offer, before hiding an amused smile behind the rim of the cup.

“Nah” She clicked her tongue in sarcasm but was unable to hide the gleam of happiness in her eyes. “Get a life, you weirdo”.

“I already have a life” I keep staring at her, and the once amused smile turns into a full toothy grin.

“Rather boring I’d say” She teased, throwing one of the couch pillows at me.

I just recently watched the “The Great Mission to Rescue Princess Peach!” And omg the animation???? This came out in 83???? Everything is so pretty??? Peach is beautiful, Mario is wholesome and Luigi is just happy to be there.

Considering that this movie is like 40 years old and was the very first videogame adaptation ever made, I think it holds up surprisingly well today and deserves a lot more credit than it's getting. 👏

Although, while it may be an unpopular opinion (and probably very surprising coming from me lol), I actually quite like the ending! It made for a really heartfelt and bittersweet conclusion, and Mario being happy for her nonetheless was the absolute highlight of the film for me. 🥹 He's a genuinely good and caring person who only wished her well despite having his heart broken in the end, and I sincerely love this humble and selfless side of him. ❤️‍🩹

As a side note, I thought Luigi was hilarious in this movie, and his dynamic with Mario was a lot of fun. 😆 I highly recommend it!

If someone (me) wanted to get into the super mario games. Which one would be a good one to start with? Or which one is most fun :)

Hey there! First of all, thank you so much for asking, and sorry for keeping you waiting for so many days! 😅

It kinda depends on your taste or what you're looking for! For instance, if you're into 2D/platform games, you should definitely try Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World! I'd say they're the best classical 2D Mario games, with lots of different levels, secrets, power-ups and of course, lots and lots of fun! ✨

In case you'd rather play a 3D/exploration game, I'd go with Super Mario Odyssey indeed! It's such an AMAZING game! 🤩 The kingdoms are very varied, wide and beautiful, there are lots of minigames during the adventure, and there are also maaaaaany easter eggs from other Mario games, which could make you want to try some of them as well 🤭 I also love the way Mario Odyssey, despite being a 3D game, includes some 2D parts as well. It's so perfect! 👏✨

Also: yes, Mario can change his outfit. And yes, he can dress as a bride. Best outfit in the game indeed! 👏

And last but not least, if you're into RPG games, you have a bunch of games to choose from! The original one was Super Mario RPG, which recently got its own remake for Nintendo Switch, and there's also the Paper Mario series, from which I absolutely LOVE the first three games, being my personal favorite Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. Which is getting a remake this year, btw! Can't wait to replay it! 🤩✨

Continuing with the RPGs, I cannot leave without mentioning my very first and favorite Mario RPG game ever: Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. This game was released 20 years ago for GBA and got a remake in 2017 (I believe) for 3DS, and it's now available to play through Nintendo Switch Online, and I'm giving it my millionth replay because I LOVE it! It's full of humor, originality, a very interesting story full of plot twists, amazing and charismatic characters (Prince Peasley my beloved!), and best of all: sweet and cute moments between the most adorable brothers EVER! 🥹❤💚 It's absolute PERFECTION, so if you're into RPG games, I highly recommend you give it a try! 🤩✨

Of course, out of the main 2D/3D Mario games and the RPGs, you also have some spin offs like Mario Kart, Mario Party, Mario Tennis... I'd personally go with Mario Kart 8 for Switch and Mario Kart for GBA, and Mario Tennis for Game Boy and GBA, since they're so much fun! I'm not much into Mario Party games, but I've enjoyed the ones I've played, so I'd recommend you check them out and see for yourself which one catches your attention! 🥰

And of course, there's the Luigi's Mansion series! It's about catching ghosts in haunted mansions, and there are three of them. The first one holds a very special place in my heart, and the second one is getting a remake this summer, but I'd say the third one is my favorite, and the most complete out of the three! It's also a 3D/exploration game, and it has lots of puzzles to solve and 15 different floors to explore, so check it out as well if you haven't yet! 🥰

And Luigi is such a cutie OMG 😭💚✨

So yeah! I know this is kind of a wide answer with lots of options, but I guess I'd recommend you a game for each category, as it all depends on what you're more interested in 🥰
