Hannah true form
@heaven-ecologist day 1: True form/ powers/ vessel
Sorry it’s a few days late, I just really wanted to do this.
It’s more of a character design than art but I think that counts :)
Tumblr media
Inspired by this^
Tumblr media
Maybe I like the line art better ;)

What inspired Sera's design? I've always loved her design and would love to know some of your thought process when you were making her
Originally she was actually going to be very human and a fallen angel. her dynamic was basically the inverse we have now. a very forward and sexual angel who tries to seduce a shy and social anxious succubus. (sorry this is the only concept art i have rn thats not uh, lewd. the comics were originally going to be a lot different and for a separate account)
Tumblr media
but i lost interest in the concept since i'm more of an opposite attracts type, and i wanted to explore both environments (cant exactly explore heaven if your wife is rotting in hell).
So I went with a more typical "serious angel x sexual succubus" type, but then went, "what if she actually was the more intimidating looking of the two". succubi are meant to be sexy and approachable, so what if her girlfriend was fucking weird and scary. I had a rough sketch (which i cant find for some reason) where Sera is this just this massive rings of fire with a giant head/eye inside, but then I felt like it was... kind of boring.
which is funny considering ive had people claim that my current sera design is trying too hard to be "biblicly accurate" but i wasn't trying to be! I wanted it to be a mix of version depicted in biblical art AND more humanized form. I wanted a partner for lili to hold hands with. An angel design that felt unique. Sorry if the answer feels vague, I never really had a specific design in mind when drawing her.

Q!BBH AND RELIGIOUS ICONOGRAPHY
Ok I said I’d make a longer post about it, so here it is. I just find it so incredible fascinating how Badboyhalo has chosen to incorporate religious symbols in his base, specifically the ones he has chosen to include. All of the symbols he has chosen are associated with death in some way. Unsurprising, considering he has heavily alluded to being the grim reaper. But, what I really want to focus on is the fact that the chosen symbols have a much heavier focus on the transition into death rather than death itself.
Let’s start with the easiest and most obviously one: the halo chandeliers and the wings sprouting from behind the throne. Angels in Christianity have served a large variety of roles, but the two I want to focus on is them being heralds of death/disaster and escorts of souls to heaven. I’m sure the herald angels relate back to BBH alluding that he caused great historical disasters such as the Black Death, but because there’s so many instances of herald angels I’m not gonna focus on any specific one.
Who I do want to focus on; however, is the angel of death Azrael. He’s sort of your classic biblically accurate angel with the many eyes and wings and all that, but his main job is to separate the soul from the body. He is unaware of when a human will die and only acts when he has been told (something about a leaf with that person’s name on it falling from the tree under God’s throne blah blah). The interesting note, though, is that Azrael stands on the bridge between paradise and hell. I point at the bridge leading from what will be the warp room to BBH’s base into the rest of his home. Now it’s your choice how you interpret which side is supposedly paradise and which is hell. Personally I could see an interpretation for either. Now back to angels. After Azrael pays you a visit to grab your soul, he hands you off to some guardian angels. Who those angels are varies based on what sect of Christianity you look at; some say Archangel Michael escorts you, others say it’s your personal guardian angels. Nonetheless, they act as escorts for the soul to the afterlife. Sound familiar? BBH has stated or implied (it’s been awhile I can’t remember if it was outright stated) that he helped guide the eggs who had died to the afterlife.
Now the next religious symbol is probably the most closely tied to the transition into death. BBH’s river of souls is heavily inspired by the River Styx and its ferryman Charon. Charon’s job was to ferry souls who had received burial rites across the rivers Acheron and Styx. There is some debate about the mythos of each river but for the purpose of this post I’m just going to refer to them both as what separated the world of the dead from the living. The main point here is that Charon ferried souls from the land of the living to that of the dead, where they will be judged and sent to whatever part of the underworld Hades would deem fit. Again, we are not quite seeing a symbol of death itself, but more of that transition period. What happens as the soul leaves the body and is on its way to the afterlife. And again, I point to BBH implying he guided the dead eggs. The interesting part here, though, is that Charon did not work for free like angels. When one received burial rites, they had a coin placed in their mouth that would serve as payment for the ferry. What I’m curious about is what BBH would consider payment if he’s considering it at all. It could possibly explain why he’s gotten away with so much without a serious step in from the Federation? But then again I could be looking too far into it lol.
The last symbol I want to talk about is interesting because it represents both life and death. The Ankh that BBH designed his rooms to form can been seen with a lot of important Egyptian figures. Pharaohs and kings were often depicted with them to preserve immortality. Egyptian gods such as Osiris, Iris, and Ra are all seen depicted with it. Important leaders were often buried with them to take to the afterlife to live a sort of life after death. The thing of note to me, though, is that it commonly represents the ability of gods to revive souls in the afterlife. This symbol isn’t so much a symbol of transition, but one of defiance of death. I included it in here because I find it appropriate that BBH, the one to consistently care for the eggs when no one else can, the one who has probably done the most to set up every safety measure he could to protect them, the one who feels most responsible for their disappearance, would be the one to adopt this symbol. Ngl the part about reviving souls gives me hope he can find a way to bring the dead eggs back, but that’s largely me coping and I doubt that will actually be possible.
Lastly, I just find it interesting that BBH adopted the Grim Reaper specifically as part of his lore. It’s a very vague concept not cemented in any one religion. Often, it’s never really associated with any one afterlife, just the act of dying itself. Idk I find it extremely noteworthy that BBH has not quite adopted the death aesthetic, but has instead integrated his lore in that transitional period. Not necessarily the afterlife, but the act of dying itself and that journey one takes to the afterlife.
Anyways if you read all this thanks for indulging my rambling lol. I just love love love symbolism in media especially religious symbolism. If I got anything wrong or I missed something please lmk and I’ll fix it!

This idea keeps bubbling in my brain and I wanna write it (thanks to @snootlestheangel for inspiring and motivating me to write this-) 141 Monster/Cryptid AU but with Ghost as just a human... or is he? I don't know the specifics of Snootles' headcanons for the 141 and what their species are, but uh, I hope they don't mind I come up with some species for them Captain John Price = Were-dragon OKAY HEAR ME OUT; Anywhere I look, John is either a Biblically Accurate Angel or a Wyvern hybrid but I personally like to view him as a were-dragon. I can imagine him with a few features of Draconic origin like a few scales along his back, his arms and his legs. Maybe some small horns but I'm not gonna follow the 'only transforms on full moons' troupe. Instead I think he can transform on command but his emotions are tied in with his transformation. He's gotta be in check of his own emotions to keep control of his transformation, but he isn't as destructive as he was back then. Yes he can breathe fire in any form. Fight me on this. --- Sergeant Kyle Gaz Garrick = I dunno yet, I'm caught between Shapeshifter, Wizard or Undead. If he was a shapeshifter, I keep thinking he'd become anything that anyone is scared of if they've pissed him off. Also may I interest you in; flattened hamster Gaz? Like y'know how some hamsters flatten when they're relaxed? I can imagine Gaz as a hamster, chilling on Soap's head. For the wizard idea, he'd be a firm believer in 'I don't care how small the room is, I cast fireball.' and he'd wear a store-bought wizard outfit to fuck with people. The undead part came to me cause I keep thinking of him yanking his arm off and chasing someone with it in his hand. Or his head getting tossed around like a ball. --- Sergeant John Soap MacTavish = Werewolf or Dullahan. I might go with Dullahan for him to be fair, the idea of a headless rider sitting upon a black horse seems fitting for him. (yes I know the Dullahan is strictly from Irish folklore but I couldn't find anything that'd fit Soap-) And the idea of Gaz and Soap being headless buds sounds fucking funny to me. I can imagine him in a suit of armor styled as a black knight, riding on a black horse of shadow, probably confusing the piss out of the enemy until he's fucking throwing bombs around while they're trying to understand why an armored headless man is here when it's the fucking modern era. --- König = Eldritch Horror (tentacles galore.) I will not explain myself. --- Kim Horangi Hong-jin = Weretiger or Kumiho (Nine-tailed Fox) Okay I might go with the Kumiho, I like that idea. --- Simon 'Ghost' Riley = Human? If I were to draw conclusions about Ghost's true nature, my mind keeps guessing Grim Reaper, a shadowy skeleton, and for some reason the ghost rider- Why? I don't fucking know. OR MAYBE HE COULD BE A HORSEMAN OF THE APOCALYPSE- I might keep the horseman of the apocalypse idea, he's just so good at disguising himself as human and emitting that cryptid energy that no one would guess if he's Death.

Y'all know how Sunsetter is, like... my Underswap take of sorts? Well, I've recently been working on ideas for an Underfell take of sorts as well, with my own little twists.
Well, it's... kinda an Underfell take. Just a bit different in... a lot of ways.
I made up the name as I'm typing this, because I didn't have a name beforehand.
RED HAZE: Tale Of The Fallen
(or just "Red Haze")
This take has a lot of differences from the usual interpretation, including changing appearances... more than just details and clothing.
(Do note that the main cast would have different names from their Undertale counterparts. But since I can't think of any ideas for now, and also to prevent confusion, I'm just using the original names.)
Unlike in Undertale, there is no barrier keeping monsterkind from going to the surface. Hell, there isn't a mountain at all. Instead, monsterkind resides in a magically imbued forest, with only one way to leave, while entering gets one endlessly lost.
Asgore simply is biding his time, getting the souls of seven humans, to become godlike, and to wipe out humanity. No monster tries to go after Asgore, or even question his methods. Some act this way out of fear of what he could do, others that are for him and for his plan, and then the few that don't care either way.
The "routes" are named somewhat differently from what people usually call Undertale's
Path of Solace - ("Pacifist" Route) Path of Choices - ("Neutral" Routes) Path of Exploit - ("Genocide" Route)
“* You brush aside the agony.”
- this take's replacement for being "filled with determination"
AGONY is a haze that leaks from broken souls, with more of it depending how much negative energy one has when they die. It mentally and physically affects those who breathe it in. Naturally, it opposes the power of Determination, as that power does to it, destroying each other until one remains or there's nothing left. But, with enough focus, perhaps one could use both as one. Such a concept would be a focus of the Path of Exploit, specifically regarding both Undyne and Frisk.
Time for the cast!
Frisk and Chara
Tumblr media
Admittedly, I didn't think much besides design-wise for these goobers. It's probably just that Frisk is more tired than usual and Chara was used as a sacrifice to the monsters in a failed attempt at a peace offering by humanity, actually got sick instead of it being planned, and yada-yada Asriel soul absorption and death. ...okay, maybe I thought a little for Chara. But not too much for Frisk.
The shirt patterns here are probably obviously Yumi Nikki inspired, despite the fact that I know nothing about the game itself besides some characters, lol.
The Dreemurrs (Toriel, Asgore, and Asriel)
Similar to canon Underfell, Toriel is what started this entire take concept to begin with. The idea stemmed from "what if the dreemurr family had biblically accurate angel imagery (eyes and wheels) instead of devil imagery (goats, fire, trident, y'know)?" And then I added "black sheep" into that, so that's what I ended up with.
Tumblr media
Toriel is very fearful of humans, instead of a caretaker, running away and attacking when cornered. She uses what power she has to keep herself alone, not wanting to be emotionally tied and hurt again. (She's my favorite in the cast :3)
Asgore has been particularly affected by the AGONY of the many fallen children that died by his hand, becoming almost a tyrant, with only some of his original personality fading in and out.
Asriel is... actually not too different from canon Asriel, considering he died before everything really kicked off.
Tumblr media
Flowey is a small mass/hivemind of bundled flowers, tied together like a "rat king". Each flower has only small snippets of past memories as Asriel, as well its own "personality", splitting Undertale Flowey’s personality into six pieces. They try to help Frisk get through the area, due to how unsafe it is. Whether they have their own goals remains to be seen.
The Blooks are shadow spirits instead of simple ghosts.
Tumblr media
Napstablook is somewhat the same as in Undertale, other than the visual changes. Though, due to the circumstances, they’d have a bit more of an issue with their emotional state, bottling up their feelings, usually until such bursts when they can’t take it anymore.
Mettaton possesses many types of machinery, instead of just his singular body. In a way, this is due to the fact that he cannot decide on a single one.
The Ruins Dummy ghost is instead possessing a box and works as how items travel between boxes throughout the areas.
Maddie (aka "Mad Dummy" or "Mad Mew Mew" in Undertale, Maddie is sorta just a fandom nickname i think) basically acts like canon, but also a Mimic in a way, also possessing a box.
There would also be a secret boss fight against both Mettaton and Maddie, replacing Undertale's "Mad Mew Mew" one, with one where the two are trying to share the same body. The goal is to get the two to get along and work together… or just straight up destroy the body.
The Skelebros are instead lost spirits, seemingly of their original counterparts in some way...
Tumblr media
Papyrus's goal is the same as his original, but instead in hopes of finally passing on, instead of joining a "Royal Guard". In reality, he knows he's never gonna pass on, but is in constant denial of such.
Sans, however, seems to have accepted and adapted to his “life”, and just wants to follow after his brother with whatever happens to him. He also likes dark humor, because of course he does.
The "Royal Guard" replacement is instead a cult that Undyne leads (and used to be led by Gerson), with a focus on a so-called prophecy, and using AGONY for what they see as a good thing. While they seem to be against King Asgore, it's more or less that they want him back to how he was before everything happened.
Tumblr media
Undyne is a hooded guide throughout Waterfall (or whatever it'd be called in the take). She'd still be a fishlike monster, perhaps siren-like or anglerfish-like... or both. She protects the harmless from a gang of young monsters, led by Monster Kid.
Tumblr media
Alphys is still the Royal Scientist, but also some form of background security in a way. She has an abundance of hidden cameras all throughout the Underground. She uses her vision across the areas for many reasons. Blackmail, catching traitors in the act, sometimes just... watching. Some monsters, especially many in the cult, have become evasive enough to miraculously avoid her gaze.
Her appearance is a bit more more based on that one beta design by Tuyoki.

In demonology there are so manys kings and a few queens, sub princes and dukes, and genrals, and I love how most of the OM characters are mentioned in the ars goetia family or are in the lesser key of solomon, but i love the fact that they did not put Satan/Lucifer as a king of the devildom, and made a character who to my knowledge is not in any demonology sources that ive read.
Okay yes I have thought about this exact thing! They definitely seem to be getting their inspiration from the Lesser Key of Solomon more than the actual Bible. They definitely read about the story of King Solomon and his ring and all that. Though there are only a couple of demons actually named in the Bible aside from Lucifer and Satan and I don't think any of them are the demons we know. The Lesser Key of Solomon, on the other hand, has an entire list of 72 demons in the Ars Goetia. And every single one of them has a title like king or duke or even president lol.
And interestingly enough, the only two names on the list that they've used are the two demons we know have a pact with our Solomon: Barbatos and Asmodeus. Like there were seventy other demons on that list that they could have used, but they decided not to. And I think it's because they didn't want all of the demons to have a pact with Solomon.
So I think they must have taken the list of the brothers and their associated sins from a well known classification of demons that some German theologian just kind of made up and everybody was like yeah that sounds right lol. But it's the exact same order and each one of them has the same sin as each of our bros.
So I think they probably took that list, saw that Asmodeus was on it and then found him in the Ars Goetia and were like... hey let's use this Solomon guy too. Oh look he's also got Barbatos on his list, that sounds good let's include him, too. And let's read the rest of the Lesser Key of Solomon and take whatever pieces we want from it.
Which then brings us to the ultimate question of where in the WORLD did they get Diavolo? Nowhere, they just made him up.
Unlike every other character who has some kind of connection to the source material here (even Simeon and Luke who have Biblical names if not specifically angelic ones), Diavolo has ZERO connection to any of these things. The only thing he has is a name that means devil in Italian. (At least, I also have never read or seen anything about Diavolo anywhere else?)
And I find that SO INTERESTING.
Especially how considering in most media based on Christian theology and mythology, Satan and/or Lucifer is the ruler of hell, just as you said. Often if it's Lucifer, they really tend to lean into the whole fallen angel thing, but he's still the one who founded hell and rules over it. Whereas when Satan is the one they're using, he's a little more just... an evil demon guy. But still king of hell!
And not only is Diavolo the ruler of hell, he's part of a long line of Demon Kings. It's not like Lucifer used to be in charge, but then Diavolo took over or something.
But because they just made him up, his character is not bound by any limitations from the original source material. Not that they're very accurate about any of this stuff to begin with, but it definitely has a heavy influence. Whereas Diavolo doesn't have any of that influence at all.
And I think it's really refreshing to have a different character as the ruler of hell. Lucifer and Satan have more than enough going on and Diavolo is far better at that job than either of them would be anyway in my opinion!
And I love all of this, too! I also just love Diavolo in general, he's such a great character.
Anyway, I apologize for the length of this response, but this is something I have spent time thinking about lol.

Okay, guys, you want me to go on about the most pointless things?
Let's go on about Byeol (and a bit about Fane, I suppose), because I am going insane
Alright everyone, for those unaware, this is Byeol:
Tumblr media
This is a tyrant in Nexomon: Extinction, his name is Byeol. The problem about this, however.
He isn't a story tyrant, and this... Makes me very interested in him.
Amelie calls Tyrants super powerful Nexomon, but here's the thing. According to Coco, Jin blocked off the entrance to Fenrir's tomb so that no more Tyrants may be hatched
Lydia also says to go bother Nadine because of the egg, and keep in mind, the grass Tyrant is Tikala. A warden. Probably because Deena didn't necessarily want to add fuel to the fire
So then we are already established that Tyrants are probably always hatched.
... So then what of Fane and especially Byeol?
(And there's no Psychic Tyrants because... Solus would be too lil to bonk an egg, and nobody would ask a random kid to do so.)
Well, let's go with the easier one, in which I ask yet again, what's up with the Ghost type? I've wanted to throw hands about it for a long time.
(Ulzar says that the reason Nexomon are, well, a thing is because of the Children of Omnicron. So it makes sense, right? 7 children, 7 elements)
Psychic is a bit trickier because of the fact Mystogen exists. And if we're going of the fact Solus made the psychic type...
Putting a pin in that, rant for another day.
So... What of Ghost?
Well. That's not the point of the post and that's my motivation for writing Doubts.
But! Moving on, Fane. Well, with the assumption they come from eggs, well frick. There's no ghost primordial.
... Which is why I can't speak much of it. We can surely just blame Hilda
... Do you know who we have more of?
Byeol.
Well. Let's see then.
Byeol is a normal type in Palmaya, first and foremost.... We are back to James everyone, anyone who's talked to me isn't surprised
Hi new people, James is how we call the Nexolord on this side of the fandom, moving on.
Assuming that James isn't dead and we take into account this from Nadine:
Tumblr media
Well, who am I to argue with Nadine? (Granted, she could mean Grunda or Deena , but.)
.. So, in today's rant. Byeol and Metta, woooo.
First of all, he is in Palmaya(and later around the Orphanage as of the Abyssals but we can put a pin in that because, Abyssals) , which, is definitely not the frozen tundra
But, Merida is in the frozen Tundra, and Atlanta's Tyrant is frosty enough to argue Merida bonked the egg there.
.. So then, Palmaya's free, ey?
Well. That's interesting, further on, I am going to need to grab Metta for a moment
Tumblr media
Hello bowling ball, I still think you should be an Armodillo.
Moving on, see this man? Until his siblings he is, unfortunately, not an animal
My only logic conclusion, looking at this man(if we don't take my other James theory into account), is that he's supposed to be a kind of biblically accurate angel, just, ribbons not wings (Thanks for the association Azzie, your hands are red too)
... HMMMM who ELSE has wings and is a normal type...
... WELL THEN.
Additionally, I must point out, Metta has 7 ribbons. If we count the bottom pointy Byeol has he has 8.
... Well, it just happens an additional type is added this time, to bump it from 7 to 8(we already went over why I think Ghost might not count)
.. So then.
And. Well, let's look at it this way. Nivalis and Arqua, they don't look the same. Fona and Mulcimer, er. The closest we have is Ventra and Eurus.
... And, well, Solus and Nara, but surely not
... Byeol could've been a kangaroo or something, but instead-
They're both inanimate object things I can't make sense of. I know Ross said that he was just inspired to make a star thing, but-
... Hm.
What am I trying to say? Nothing really. At the end of the day these are coincidences, likely
Like, n3 protag and James both have a blue hair strand, but that doesn't mean they're like, immediately necessary related kind of thing
... Just makes you think.
(Also, this stated when I made a joking like toddler Byeol human version, and I saw the white hair and went like "...wait")

I’m curious, when it comes to the design of your sona what inspired you?
Oh god this took me a year to answer (/j its been since june- didn't know how to answer at the time)
There was a few things that inspired me for them- the main ones being my first oc Brosif :3
As seen here (old art yay)
Tumblr media
Steven universe, thats why their t-shirt color n jeans combo is like that :3 I almost just gave them the Steven shirt in the design but decided againts it (Also bc the drawing app I used- Sketchbook- had Copic colors and I stumbled across colors that reminded me of Steven's clothes- I loved that show alot
People I've followed oc's (Fiend by @ / ohpsshaw is the only one I remember being inspired by at the time- only some traits though- like being creature and saying fuck gender) there were some others I think but idr
Shapeshifting things inspired all the obvious stuff dgsjsgs (Steven Universe again, being one of the main things-) along with Biblically Accurate angels, aliens, and some other things I find-
And the main one for them being cloud like is the feeling of the wind passing through around my arms n hands feeling like idk clouds, mist ? Idk how to describe that feeling but yeag- also just bc I like clouds- but the feeling of the wind was a major part
Their design goes through alot of shifts with whatever piece of media I get inspired by sometimes- so yeag theres alot to it

angel from above
character: lilia vanrouge
type: angst-ish ig
pronouns: they/them
tw: mentions of war, angel inspired by biblically accurate angels, mentions of death (duh), slight rigion themes?(it's Easter week, I've been affected)
a/n: I want to make this into a series! this has been sitting in my drafts for MONTHS and I have started working on a part for smn else👀
masterlist<3
Tumblr media
lilia vanrouge was no stranger to death
in fact, he could recall more moments in which he almost saw the pearly gates than times he truely felt his heart beating behind his ribs
the first time was a bit into his life. during the war
he got hit by a very powerful spell, falling back as a dark abyss took over everything in his sight. "sevens" he said with as much strength as he could muster up "take care of my country for me" and then there was just darkness
until there was a light. he had heard old tales from older fae in the army, fae with more experience. "if you think everything is gone and you see a light" said a specific one. an older fae, her long hair pulled in a braid, clearing her face and putting her scars on display. "run towards it. chase it. run until your legs are bleeding and your lungs can't catch bring you enough oxygen to fuel your body. if you can't run, crawl, struggle, do anything to reach the light"
and run he did
he ran, ran faster than he ever had. ran for so long, or maybe for such a shirt time. it felt like an eternity, maybe it was, there was no such thing as time when you're running to escape death, is there?
it always felt so far away, so close but so far away. but he kept on running, and soon enough he was closer and closer until he realised it was a door. he opened it and got inside, closing it behind him as it disappeared
he didn't know what he was expecting to see, but he wasn't expecting to see an angelic being sitting in a table, peacefully reading a brown book with gold details
an angel. a tall figure, taller than most humans and fae, with long white wings were spread behind them, an extra two pairs of hands floating behind them in a praying position. around their head there were two halos, one created from yellow light, the other from eyes. their own eyes had no irises, they were fully white. a gold tear was staining their cheek, as if connected to their skin and their lips were rosy, in a straight line
"oh you have arrived" they exclaimed, quickly closing their book and passing it on their top set of hands "great sevn, you look horrible " they said as they approached him, grabbing his face and wiping small trails of blood that were staining his forehead
the poor fae was too weak to comprehend what was happening, instead just leaning in the hands of the angel, the warmth from them making his pain less noticeable. he didn't know what was happening and he didn't care enough, but where he was was peace and quiet, no sounds of guns and spells being casted
he couldn't see them, he had closed his eyes after all, but he could hear them. he heard them closing a book heavier than the first one and sigh
"it's not your time yet" they whispered as they softly pressed a kiss on his forehead
next thing he knew he was awake in the infirmary, once again at the war. he quickly sat up, causing a stinging pain to run through his head. he looked down on his arms seeing his scars being almost healed
"general!" said frantically another fae as they walked into the infirmary. "you're alive" they said as they rushed to his side, handing him his magic gemstone again
free of blot
when he last saw it, it was filled with blot from all the spells he had used, now it was clear of any black clouds
was that the angel's doing? and the scars? was it their doing as well?
he didn't know, and frankly, he was too exhausted to think about it
he wanted to stand up and go into the battlefield again, but he wasn't allowed until his recovery was done
and so he drew them. he drew the figure that had saved him, that had helped him. he drew the figure that held him and gave him a sense of quiet during the worst part of his long life. he drew them again and again, his hands moving as if puppeteered by someone to keep on drawing it
pages after pages, as if they'd disappear from his memories if he couldn't see them
"you saw them too huh?" asked someone from the next bed to him. it was the older fae who gave him the advise to run. the one who led him to the angel
"I saw them again earlier today. I think I can faintly hear them now, dear general" they continued. their limbs were bandaged, blood seeping through the fabric, painting it a deathly crimson colour. "may you not see them soon, vanrouge" they said as they slowly closed their eyes
they never opened them again
years later, the angel became a piece of folklore in briar valley's history. soldiers who had fought in the war told the tales of the sweet angelic being who helped them when they thought they were about to meet their creator
.
"lilia, are you scared of death?" asked the young prince, closing the heavy book he had been previously reading
"I've met death malleus"
"they really are lovely"

After watching Doctor Nowhere’s Boiled One vid, I randomly thought “It sounds like a biblically accurate angel”, and got inspired to draw this. A girl being protected by a truly horrifying yet benevolent creature, and no one knows where it comes from or how it came about.
Perhaps an angel of God, a friendly demon, or something else not of this world. Either way, this girl is in good hands.

Thank you for Angel's Egg posting, saw it recently with some friends and so your posts on it felt fortuitous.
How did you interpret the soldier and egg girl? We spent ages after the movie trying to work out how we felt about them so I'd be interested to see what you thought.
Oh that's so cool! I'm glad you enjoyed it, I remember watching it on a whim with my sister years ago and just being awestruck and hypnotized by the movie. I've become a bit of a fanatic since then and singlehandedly drove up the value of merchandise of the movie by collecting all of it lol. It's dear to my heart for sure.
I think if you know anything about Christianity then the parallels between the soldier and Jesus should be fairly apparent. A lot of people think (I presume rightly) that the giant eye is supposed to be God, and the soldier seems connected to it in some way. He has a cross-shaped weapon and bandages on his hands. I think given the history Mamoru Oshii had with religion and the crisis of faith that inspired the movie make his role fairly certain in my eyes.
The girl, however, I don't really have a clear role for. A few interpretations of the film say she's going through a biblical test, which I think is probably accurate, but I'm not sure she represents a specific biblical figure. I'm not the most well-versed in religion despite knowing more than the layman though, so I might be wrong. I think that a big part of what makes her interesting to me though, and also the soldier, is this idea about their level of awareness or the intention behind the universe and what they're doing.
If the girl is undergoing a biblical test, does she even know why? Maybe, much like the story the soldier tells, she's forgotten why she's filling the jugs with water and protecting the egg. It may also be a bit unfair to say this given the soldier breaks the egg, but I also feel relatively certain he's in the dark too. Part of why I actually Angel's Egg-posted when I did is because I watched a video essay of someone's personal take on it because I was thinking about it, and it made me realize that the scene in the beginning with the bird in the egg was probably the dream the soldier alludes to. He also expresses memory loss and I feel inclined to believe him. The question of if the characters are genuinely being tested or if they're victims of a God who abandoned the world is probably the most important part of what makes the story interesting.
I'm presuming you know this much but for the uninitiated Mamoru Oshii made this movie right after having a crisis of faith after being deeply religious for many years, to the point of considering being a priest. I think a big part of Angel's Egg is that it is a way of expressing his uncertainty. There's a bit of spite there, but also grieving. There's no solid answers and things are open to interpretation because he also doesn't really have them. He was just trying to understand himself amidst this massive loss in his life, and channeled it into this bizarre biblical test that makes you wonder about its level of intent and if the characters' faith was rewarded at all.
I may have rambled on a bit about adjacent topics, sorry lol. This movie is just so fascinating I kinda can't help but infodump and discuss it. I just hope that what I said was in focus enough that it answered your question haha

Halloween 2: Garrus’s Revenge 🎃
Well I wanted to post another Halloween fic this year, because the one I wrote last year was so much fun, but writing has been slow and I won’t be able to complete it in time. I thought it would be nice to share what I do have though. Happy Halloween all, enjoy some idiots in love ❤️ Takes place a few months after In Your Arms. Also need to thank @diaphanouso for inspiring me to have Shep go hard on her costume. Your ideas rock 😁
A notification pinged on Garrus’s omni-tool, and one glance at the message had his heart leaping with excitement. Halloween was just a few days away, and he’d been worried the costumes wouldn't arrive in time. But after rushing out the door and unwrapping the packaging in a flurry of tissue that Rocket immediately attacked as if his arch nemesis had suddenly surfaced, he finally had them in his hands. Fingering the gauzy white fabric, his pulse hammered. Spirits, this was going to be better than he dreamed.
With a smile plastered on his mandibles and the costumes dangling from his wrists on their hangers, Garrus walked into the kitchen.
“Think you might give me a little sneak preview of your—”
Hunched over the counter with a glue gun in hand, Jane looked up and he nearly tripped on his own feet as he recoiled.
“Black damned night, what are you, what is—” He took a deep, steadying breath.
“It’s my costume,” she said innocently behind a mask that covered everything but her mouth, and had more eyes than a batarian. Big, peering dark eyes covered her forehead and cheeks. There was even one centered right at the bridge of her nose. Could she even see? Her own eyes were covered.
“No,” he said, shaking his head because instead of getting used to it after a few seconds, it was only getting creepier. “No, you said I could pick your costume this time.”
“I know, and you did, so I'm making it.” She picked up something that looked like a dead animal and put it on her shoulders. Okay, that was the wings, but there was a gaudy gold crown and more feathers splayed out in a fan on her head now, too, and that didn’t look right either. Then she picked up a gold, gauzy swath of fabric and a tube of paint. “I’m worried that the shawl and the blue body paint will be offensive to turians and asari, but once it’s all together I think it won’t look like I’m wearing a wedding shawl. Or trying to look like an asari. What do you think?”
“I think you must be joking. What is this? And what’s with the eyes?” He shuddered. “Can you even see me right now?”
By the way her chin was slightly raised, it was obvious her vision wasn’t perfect. That’s how his grandma looked at him and she was nearly blind.
“Yes, there’s little panels.” She tapped the places over her eyes with her fingertips. “Neat, huh? Can’t even tell they’re there.”
“No, not neat. There must have been a translator glitch or something because this is not what I picked.”
“It is,” she insisted, twenty fake eyes all gawking at him, and pulled up an image on her omni-tool. “See?”
The image she showed him was so much worse than what she was making, maybe because it was the complete look all together. No.
This was worse than the guy dressed as a zombie, even.
“But you said I could pick your costume.” He held hers up, the fabric that hung over the white shimmery bikini and halter top flittering. A little trill escaped, both from the image of her thick ass in the skin-tight material, and the frustration of that image not coming to life.
Jane frowned, but if she had any other reaction he couldn’t tell because of the damned mask.
“You said you’d dress up as an angel for me,” he said, giving her costume a little shake.
“Yeah,” she said with a hint of impatience and pointed at that damned mask. “Angel.”.She then pointed at the costume he spent hours looking for. “That is a porn costume, not an angel costume.” With both hands she pointed at her mask, wings, and crown. “This is an accurate rendition of a biblical angel.”
“You put a cat tail on my ass,” he said. “On the street I got—”
She smirked and said, “You got cat called.”
“Jane,” he warned, but it sounded more like he was pleading.
“I’ll wear the costume you picked to the party if you let me wear this one while we have sex.” She had the nerve to laugh.
He couldn't help the grin that snuck through despite his struggle to stay irritated. “You made me dress up as a cat. Nihlus made fun of me, called me your pet. And after thinking about it I’m pretty sure Mordin made a joke about me wearing a collar for you.”
“Well, that turned out to be more of a prediction than a joke,” she said, then paused. “You can’t see it but I winked.”
As Garrus stared her down, Rocket came marching around the corner, tissue puffed out from his tight little jaw, and as soon as he saw Jane he jumped three feet in the air and skittered out of the room, nails scratching against the floor. In a flash of black, he disappeared under the couch.
“Oh,” Jane gasped. “Poor baby.”
“You’ve scared us both. Are you proud?”
“Fine,” she said with affection. “I’ll wear your costume to the party, because I owe you for the cat costume.”
While a satisfied smile lifted his mandibles, she pointed to his costume. “Is that yours?”
“Yeah.” He held it up, showing off the dark, twisted horns, black leather chest piece, and spiked leather cuffs. “Is this right?”
That finally got her to peel the mask off, revealing her beautiful beaming smile and her excited, widening starshine eyes. Her sexy little giggle made his thighs tense.
“Yes.”
She all but launched herself away from the counter and stalked towards him. After just a few hurried steps her hands pulled at his hips. Up on the tips of her toes, her lips pressed to his neck. A rich rumble started in his chest.
“Let’s go try these on, hm?” she said. Her hand landed on his inner thigh, fingers dancing higher and higher. Hot breath warmed his neck. His eyes closed as he let his rippling subvocals take over and speak for him.
With satisfaction in her low, honey voice she said, “Mmm, that’s what I thought. Let’s get these on, and you can show me just how devilish you can be.”
“You got it, saccha,” he purred. “But only if you prove to me you can be a good girl.”
With swaying hips and a smile over her shoulder, she was out of the kitchen and on her way to the stairs. He trailed after her, only stopping to turn the mask face down on the countertop. No damned way did he want to stumble upon that in the middle of the night while getting some water.

📢Psychonauts NSR AU Christmas Ideas📢
Since Christmas is coming, I thought of some more costume ideas!
[Eri here: gonna add some notes/my ideas this time! My voice will be in the brackets and white dot thing! :3]
Milla and Sasha
Milla and Sasha would either wear the same outfits Mayday and Zuke wore in the Christmas Edition or something else.
Though, I could see them pulling off the Miser Brothers with Milla being the Heat Miser and Sasha being the Snow Miser.
[I like the idea that Milla wears some kind of cool designed wrapping paper inspired outfit. Something similar to her OG look. Don’t know about Sasha honestly, but a chimney sweeper based off him smoking seems like a fun idea to me!]
DJ Cold Comet Crispin
DJ CCC would wear a black coat and top-hat and call himself ‘Scrooge’.
[Oh yeah. This fits really well!]
Raz
Raz could dress up as Befana (a witch who gives candy and presents on Christmas in Italian tradition.)
Also, DJ CCC might accidentally make Raz cry by saying something like ‘You know Halloween has passed’. And well… may get many glares from the Raz fanbase.
On the other hand, he could dress up as an angel.
[Oh I LOVE that Befana idea a lot! BUT! I think Raz and the gang would be the type to already have Christmas stuff out right after Christmas for some reason, so DJ CCC’s comment would probably be “Halloween JUST passed” trying to stop the oncoming constant Christmas songs from playing.]
Lili and Truman
Lili will definitely be the Nutcracker.
[Like the play or just dressed up as a Nutcracker? I don’t know a thing about the play, but I like the idea of Lili dressing up as a nutcracker even though Truman thought she was going to like the sugar plum fairy or something like that.]
1010 and Oleander
They would definitely dress up as reindeer, without the reindeer heads.
Or they could dress up in winter attire that resembled snowflakes.
[I like the snowflake idea, especially with how crazy the hairstyles can get in the OG PN game. Mainly thinking about how Gloria could have snowflake hair lol.]
Lucky
I have some ideas on Lucky.
One idea is that Lucky could dress up in outfit that ties to the Pagan traditions of Christmas.
Another is that Lucky dresses up with biblical motifs for the costume.
The third is that Lucky could dress uo as Snegurochka, (the Russian Christmas Character).
And the last is a costume heavily inspired by angels.
[I definitely think Lucky would tie her costume into a religiously significant figure or tradition. This would mimic Eve dressing up as like a Menorah as well as reflect the stained glass in Hollis’ mind we see a bit of. I just don’t know what. Though a Christmas (biblically accurate) angel seems to be the most fitting!]
Ford
Ford will dress up as Krampus.
[Either he starts off as Krampus and is reverted to a Santa-like outfit when the past is unlocked, or it is reversed. Like he is Santa, which the public would like, but during the fight he is unlocked into Krampus! But just Krampus is also fine if you don’t want the change thing to happen.]
Tell me which idea you like best!
[My fave is probably the ideas of Raz and Lucky!]

Devilman: Crybaby, my take on it's religious refrences
In terms of religious allegory/refrences: 10/10
In terms of entertainment: 4/10
It's not an anime that I would typically enjoy as I am not a fan of nudity/p0rnography in anime at all, if the anime was not heavily under the inspiration of religion, I would not have watched it to begin with, but I didn't even end up finishing it.
To start with I love the opening way too much, it's what made me watch it in the first place but it set the bar a bit too high I think. I love the fragment where (what looks like)a reference to a biblically accurate angel occurs for few seconds with ryo's eyes. And the angel towards the end with 10 wings is stunning (or Ryo's angel form).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The first episode already had a few crosses; right before the sabbath club scene outside and during the scene it showed up two times, I'm pretty sure. The scene where Akira becomes the 'devil'man and his black silhoutte with wings, horns and claws with a red background and cross right behind him was beautiful. It seemed like the scene was saying that this is the god-like figure who came to save you. Him killing the demons right after kind of reaffirms this, it's as if he went on to punish those who sinned.
Tumblr media
The whole world in this anime is depicted as a world without God's love. People becoming these demonic monsters is like people losing theirselves and their mind to their deepest darkest desires. How ironic that the one to 'save' them is a devil depicted as something of a Christ/God/saviour.
Oh and the beautiful painting of 'The Last Supper' by Leonardo Da Vinci in all of the dinner scenes is beautiful, maybe to understand why it's there I'd have to finish watching the anime, but I wonder if it's foreshadowing or symbolic of something that happens later on? And do the friend benito flakes that served Akira as reminder of his parents or his sudden huge appetite after turning into a devilman have something do with it or am I just overanalyzing.
Tumblr media
Now the beautiful sountrack! I love it so much especially the song "Smells Blood" with it's inaudible lyrics that repeat "God can't stop me, we are coming, you are one of us, remember" and "I don't need God, because I'm him". Ah it's amazing although it plays during the scene where they search that creeps room illegally which didn't really make sense but it's great nonetheless (I'm pretty sure it plays during other scenes as well but I couldn't really tell). Not to mention the other songs with Christian inspired names like "The Genesis" and "From here to Eternity". They all sound really good too.
Without even finishing watching, I figured Ryo was an unusual character, lack of empathy, cold killer, unphased at the sabbath scene (him turning Akira into a devilman?) But once I read spoilers saying he was Satan/the fallen angel with a hermaphrodite form I was ecstatic, it's beautiful and so funny, to think that Satan himself would have such a pure white form while the devilman christ-like figure would look way more like satan himself.
Tumblr media
Overall it's saddening that I wasn't able to enjoy and finish the anime, the blunt and straightforward Christian imagery and refrences was amazing. It was so out in the open which made me continue watching it for longer than I would have, had it been more subtle. It's a unique anime as I've yet to see one that's based on religion as heavily as this one.
Not to mention the way the anime portrays the complexity of humanity and relationships was great as well. And the many other cool (non-religious) metaphors and stuff that happens within the anime. The animation on the other hand...left me unamused. The anime was also just basically nudity the whole time, it was a hard watch for me.

Kidnapping²
Tubbo can't be stopped
Yeah, TMA looks cool, I have no idea if what the entities are but it sounds cool as hell
Philza really looked at us and asked "is anybody gonna give them depression?" And didn't wait for an answer
But yeah, Cellbit probably just wanted to help to decorate spawn, you guys don't that for Halloween? We don't have Halloween on Brazil, we don't know how it works/j
I can understand you about being shy about ships, but like, for almost anything I do
But dw, nobody is going to judge you pacman duo is fun, be it platonic or romantic
The question is: why not like pacman duo?
But about the gods of qsmp...
I think Kristin's desing is a mutual consent
Black veil in a hat, a lot of purple
But she deserves the galaxy aesthetic, it looks really cool and pretty and I think it fits the whole goddess of death vibe
And Mine, well, first I want to talk about cc Mike because he has pink hair like her and I think is cute they match:)
I don't know, but everytime I try to imagine her I aways think about some sort of sun aura if that even makes sense
I imagine those dress that are kinda loose but have something tying the waist and without sleeves that are hold by... That ring around on the neck? (Does that make sense? I'm currently can't find any image to help me) and maybe some gold bracelets? I dunno when I think of her I imagine pink, white and gold(because I think it matches with pink)
But I think that she wears a ring with a creeper face carved on it that Mike gave her :)
I've seen some Kari's designs where she has a lantern but I not quite sure for the rest
I've seen some HC that she's the goddess of the impossible, wich... Makes thing kinda hard for me at least
Like, what's is something that would fit that criteria?
The most I have is that I think she would wears braids, like those really intricated and complex braids because I think they are pretty
Taking advantage of the fact that we are talking about the gods of the qsmp to return to the subject of the Cellbit's discord
I think they are some sort of being with -how know how many - thousands? Minds
The chaos and, well, discord of so many minds crashing with different ideas and thoughts not aligned with human morals
Thinking about how would they look is kinda fun, like, how many faces could a creature like this have? Would them even be something the human mind would be able to process? Or it would collapse by simply seeing someone like that?
I think fictional religions and gods are fun to think about

ramblings below vv
Tumblr media
tried to draw some of the ideas you had :3c this one above is a drawing of Mine i did before. it’s inspired by her mc skin which is very pink, i think that’s one of the ways you’d be able to tell when she’s possessing mike because his skin will turn pink like hers and one of his pupils will also change to look like a flower/star!!
i think because for a while kari was faceless she wouldn’t have a very distinct face as a goddess? or like it’s always changing so she never looks the same because she’s like “impossible” so it’s always changing but the one thing that’s the same about her is her colors (lots of red and yellows) and that she has very intricate braiding in her hair. i also think she has like a billion hands. they don’t have to be connected to her but sort of like a biblically accurate angel she has a billion hands sort of floating around her at all times lol
Tumblr media
YEES I LOVE FICTIONAL RELIGION/GODS THEYRE SUPER FUN TO THINK ABOUT!! on another server i liked they made Prime a god (like Prime subs on Twitch) because one of the members said it so much which i thought was really fun. Prime was like the common god/religion on that server
anyways cellbits discord!! i think it would be cool if it was like shadows? just like darkness that surrounds someone but if yiu look and listen closely enough you can hear a billion different voices and eyes watching you, especially if you’re doing puzzles then it’s way easier to spot them. they’re not able to take on many forms because there’s just so many of them as one “being” so unless they can all agree they stay as just shadows.
