How your first date would go - Xiao, Kaedehara Kazuha and Thoma
A/N: Helloo, lol this is the first time in I think 1-2 years I posted again but I haven’t had time recently, sorry about that but this post is about how your first date would go with Xiao, Kaedehara Kazuha and Thoma. I hope you guys like it. Feel free to ask for other characters I haven’t done, I will be mostly focusing on genshin impact but if you want another anime you can request it but I  can’t guarantee I’ll do it due to my limited watched animes lol.
Word Count: 621
CW: Fluff
Xiao
Xiao had invited you out to see the Liyue lantern rite festival, you were quite shocked when he asked you out since he isn’t into romantic and social things. So when he asked you to see it you were quite excited and happy since this was the first time you would get to spend time with him and see the lantern rite (something he enjoys to watch alone) with him.
You had gone to the meeting point which was at the hill above Liyue harbor, you could practically see everything in Liyue harbor, it was a sight to behold. The lanterns began ascending to the sky though Xiao wasn’t anywhere near sight. ‘‘Xiao…’’ you called out for Xiao hoping he would come.
A few moments passed before you saw a lantern, a lantern which was different from the others, you looked closer into it and saw pictures of the two of you in it. As soon as you saw the lantern you saw a shadow walking towards you.
You turned and saw him, you immediately kissed his cheek and whispered these words to him ‘‘thank you, this was the best lantern rite of my life.’’ You two watched the lanterns ascending whilst hugging each other.
Kaedehara Kazuha
You were quite busy in Inazuma helping Raiden see the new Inazuma and saving her so that you barely had time to hang out with Kaedehara Kazuha. You asked him to come to Inazuma but he was too scared to step foot in that nation. He felt bad so he asked you to come to Liyue since he had a surprise for you.
You were curious as to what Kaedehara Kazuha had prepared for you and couldn’t wait so you called Kaedehara Kazuha and asked him what he planned for you. He replied with ‘‘Just get here and see it for yourself.’’
                                                          1 week later…
You were finally on the crux and ready to sail back to Liyue. As soon as you reached Liyue you called Kaedehara Kazuha and told him you got to Liyue and he told you to go to Guyun Stone Forest at 18:00.
You took your waverider to Guyun Stone Forest and saw Kaedehara Kazuha there waiting for you. ‘‘Kaedehara Kazuhaaa I’m so happy to finally see you.’’ He replied with ‘‘Glad you're here, now for the surprise look ahead.’’ You turned your head upwards and saw the sun setting.
It was certainly something you didn’t get to see in Inazuma and made you not want this moment to end.
Thoma
Thoma asked you to meet him at the Komore Teahouse saying he had a surprise for you. He had been so busy working for Kamisato Ayato that he didn’t want him spending time on you and instead used that for resting but he insisted on planning a surprise for you since you had been busy in the Chasm.
You had sailed back to Inazuma and head to the Komore Teahouse, part of you didn’t want Thoma wasting time on you but the other part was curious to see what he had prepared
As you entered the scent coming from the kitchen reminded you of Monstadt and how much you missed it there. ‘‘Good morning y/n’’ said Thoma in a cheerful voice. ‘‘Good morning Thoma.’’ you said simultaneously walking to him. As you walked up to him you saw he was making your favourite pancakes and hashbrowns.
He remembered your favourite dishes… You hugged him kissing his cheek whispering ‘‘you remembered.’’He answered with ‘‘of course I remember, how could I forget.’’ Before he kissed your lips, breaking the kiss he said ‘‘I missed you so much, I’m glad you came back.’’ and then continued kissing you.

Beidou’s Woes Against Mondstadt’s ‘Divinity’: Part III
Beidou regrettably files for personal bankruptcy. (Written as of 2.5 being out)
Two captains, a ‘nun’, a bard, and a privateer, walk into Angel’s Share for an impromptu meeting of what I like to call ‘High-Functioning Alcoholics Anonymous’. At the bar table, Beidou is sandwiched in the middle of Kaeya and Venti with Rosaria next to her usual drinking buddy and Eula taking a seat next to the bard that slanders her family daily through song - much to her delight.
Kaeya: - and then he was just sitting there! Honestly, it was one of the funniest things I ever saw! (laughing)
Eula: (slurs) Holy shit. (hic) What . . . what an idiot. (chugs her third round of beer)
Rosaria: (shakes her head in bemusement) That doesn’t even make any sense.
Venti: (chuckling to himself) Considering the pocket change involved, you could say that it makes perfect ‘cents’, wouldn’t you agree?
The Cryo users groan simultaneously as Venti and Beidou shriek with laughter.
Beidou: (wipes a tear from her eye as she gives Venti a heart slap on the back) You’re an absolute riot! (boisterously) Charles! A round for my new friends and an extra one for the small green man!
Charles: (sighs deeply as he makes the drinks and passes them out) You know I’m going to have to cut you lot off soon.
Eula: (sniffs and sloppily waves her hand in dismissal) I’m not even that drunk. (paws at the full pint of beer)
Rosaria: (rolls her eyes) Please. (takes her glass of wine) You make Alberich look sober with how much beer you’ve had in the past hour.
Kaeya: (chides) Oh, come now dear Sister. Such an accusation must have some reasonable basis. (sips his drink petulantly) I’ve only had two Death After Noons.
Venti: (tries not to wince as he snorts and takes a swig of his glass of wine) Yeah, two Death After Noons in fifteen minutes.
Kaeya: (glares shrewdly at Venti) Hmph! Well, I will have you know that I needed it today. (turns away from him)
Venti: Oh, come on, Sir Kaeya! (teasing) I was only saying so in jest, no need to give me the cold shoulder.
Cue Venti and Beidou losing their minds again as all the Cryo users wonder why they didn’t drink by themselves tonight.
Rosaria: (finishes her wine and sets down some mora) I have things to do.
Kaeya: (overembellished mock hurt) Rosa? How could you even consider abandoning me at a time of need? (dramatically throws a hand over his visible eye) I’m hurt.
Rosaria: (low) I can hardly call objectively terrible puns from a drunken bard a ‘time of need’. Also (lightly pokes Eula’s flushed cheek) either get her sober enough to walk home or I’m going to tell the Outrider to get her myself.
Eula: (doesn’t notice Rosaria’s pointed finger) (slurs) I’m . . . (hic) I’m just fine. (burps in a closed fist) Just need some more beer. (finishes the beer) Aw, fuck. It’s (hic) gone.
Rosaria: (exhales sardonically) Case in point. (gets up and begins to walk out)
Venti: Aw, leaving already? (cheerfully) May the winds of Barbatos watch over you, Sister Rosaria!
Kaeya: (sing-song like) I hope your nightly work isn’t too taxing tonight ~
Eula: (just waves in Rosaria’s general direction as she rings up yet another beer)
Rosaria: Yeah, yeah, see you around, fuckers. (lingering in the doorway of the tavern as she says to Beidou) You’re loud, brash, and obnoxious, but tolerable.
Beidou: (finally catches her breath and salutes in a friendly good bye) It was a real pleasure meeting you too, Rosie. Take care of yourself!
Rosaria: (bristles but nods) (quiet, but loud enough to be heard) I always do. (leaves the tavern)
Kaeya: (long whistle) Well damn, she must really like you, Captain.
Beidou: (snorts and raises her eyebrow) Why do you say so, Captain?
Eula: (groans into her fourth pint of beer) That stupid joke (hic) stopped being funny (hic) after the first . . . five times.
She’s right and I agree with her.
Kaeya: (sniggers) The last time I tried calling her Rosie, I nearly died. (sips his third drink) I can’t imagine why or how she didn’t eviscerate you on the spot.
Beidou: (shrugs) Can’t say that I know the answer to that. (takes a long swig out of her mead) She’s nice enough.
Venti: (swinging his legs rhythmically) I can’t help but agree with you, Captain Beidou! (hums melodically to himself) Though I must say that Rosaria has quite the thorny disposition. (snickers as he starts to finish off another wine glass)
Eula: (sniffles) Why . . . why is it empty? (legitimately forlorn) I just (hic) wanted a (hic) drink- (collapses on the tabletop with her head buried in her hands) It’s not (hic) fair . . .
Beidou: (hesitantly grasps Eula’s shoulder) . . . you good there?
Eula: (moans quietly and unintelligibly) Why . . . couldn’t I have been born an orphan?
Kaeya: (tsks under his breath) Oh dear, it seems that our dear Captain Eula is done for the night. (reaches over and lightly shakes her) Unfortunately, the time for drinking and company for her has run it’s course.
Eula: (protests loudly) Mmngh. (slowly tries to get up on unsteady feet) ‘m fine.
Kaeya: (watching closely) Mmm, but you have another mission in a day or two, do you not?
Eula: (glares coldly, before conceding) . . . you do have a (hic) point, I suppose. (sways as she stands)
Beidou: (waves over) Charles, some water over here?
Charles: (already sliding down a tall glass of water in the group’s general direction)
Beidou: (catches it) (to Eula) Drink some of this, yeah? It’ll be good for you.
Eula: (takes the water and chugs it) Bleugh. (blinks rapidly) It’s terrible. (sighs after a beat of silence) I . . . should be heading (small cough) back to my quarters.
Kaeya: Mhm. Would you like me to accompany you back?
Beidou: (casually) It wouldn’t bother any of us to, ya know.
Eula: (waves her hand dismissively) No need . . . no need. (begins to walk away from the bar table, setting down some mora)
Venti: (wipes his mouth with his sleeve) Heading out, Miss Eula? (takes off his hat and waves it in the air) May the breezes carry you safely home.
Eula: (nods as she exits the tavern) (sticks her hand through the doorway) Good night to you all. (turns to Beidou) Except you. Your choice in drinks are awful. Hmph. (leaves the tavern proper)
Kaeya: (blinks) Did . . . did she not know that it was water?
Venti: (innocently turns to Beidou and cocks his head to the side) I dunno, but that look she gave you positively chilled me to the bone! (shrieking laughter)
Kaeya suffers as our duo of terrible puns and jokes continue to laugh their asses off.
Kaeya: (rolls his eye at Venti as he finishes his drink) If I didn’t find comraderie with you, I’d have left already.
Venti: (still giggling as he scoots closer and presses into Kaeya’s side) Oh, come now, Sir Kaeya! I will have you know that I am absolutely hilarious.
Kaeya: (sighs through his nose) I will say that you are an excellent bard, Venti, but you’re not as much of a comedian as you think you are.
Venti: Ah, but Sir Kaeya, I’ve managed to get a rise out of your pirate friend!
Beidou: (still laughing her ass off as she is on the floor, rolling)
Kaeya: (snorts halfheartedly) How insufferable.
Another round of drinks later, things are starting to wind down.
Kaeya: (genuinely shocked) Well, that was an interesting tale. I wasn’t aware that a sea serpent could even bend in that direction.
Beidou: I didn’t know either until I saw it for myself. (finishes the last of her drink) You know, if you ever want to come see all sorts of crazy things on the high seas, I’d be happy to take you on.
Kaeya: (idly traces his finger on an empty glass) I would love to join you, but alas, I have my own duties and happenings here already. (chuckles warmly) Besides, two captains on a single ship seems tenuous, does it not?
Beidou: Pfft. (reaches out and ruffles Kaeya’s hair) Whatever you say.
Kaeya: (pouts, but doesn’t stop Beidou from doing so) Och, watch the hair, will ya? It took years for that lovelock to grow out.
Venti: (slurs, slumped over, still clutching a wine glass) Dandelion wine . . . (laughs drunkenly) tastes the same as I remember . . . (hic) but everyone I know who’d have it with me . . . (hic) is dead.
Kaeya: (looks at the multiple empty wine bottles next to Venti before turning to Venti) Friend, do you not think that you’ve had enough dandelion wine? Why, I fear that you may have drunk straight through most of this season’s brew.
Beidou: (whistles appreciatively at the stack of bottles) Holy fuck, that’s a lot of alcohol for such a little dude.
Kaeya: (gives a small laugh) You wouldn’t be saying that if you saw him during the Windblume Festival. I heard it was about *56 glasses of wine he drank?
Beidou: (visibly shocked) How is he not dead?
Kaeya: (shakes his head) The bartender asks themselves the same question every time he doesn’t stop at five glasses.
Venti: (attempts to lift up his head) (hic) Another round . . . perhaps?
Kaeya: (tuts at Venti) I personally wouldn’t recommend it. You would want to let the wine breathe a bit before drinking it, no?
Venti: (scrunches up his face in thought) Mm. (hic) On second thought . . . (hic) I think I would like to (hic) compose a ballad. (hums in thought) To what though? (hic) It will come to me in time . . .
Venti summons a lyre, only to promptly set it down on the bar table, and then collapse.
Beidou: (blinks) Is he-
Kaeya: (waves his hand dismissively) He’s fine. Give him five minutes and he’ll be recovered enough to drink another bottle of wine. Regardless of that . . . (sighs to himself) I believe I must be going now.
Beidou: (nods) It is getting kind of late, huh. I’ll probably be heading out soon too. (grins) I had a great time! The drinks always go down easier with good company.
Kaeya: (fondly) I truly did enjoy our time together in each other’s company as well! (genuinely) It was the most fun I’ve had in a while, actually. (gets up with drunken flourish) But alas, all good things must come to an end at some point in time, for if life wasn’t so bitter, we would not be able to relish in the occasional sweetness it brings. (sets down a generous amount of mora)
Venti: (from his slumped form, mutters) Cheers . . . I’ll drink to that.
Kaeya: (with a hint of genuine sadness) I bid you adieu. Until next time, from one Captain to another. (makes his way to walk out)
Beidou: (salutes) Stay safe out there, Captain.
Kaeya: (through the doorway) Are we really at the end of the day? (leaves the tavern proper)
Beidou gets to ruminate on that loaded comment along with her three previous companions for all but a few moments before Venti becomes lucid enough for conversation yet again. So they chat for a little while longer, sing a shanty or two and Beidou has a few stanzas composed in honor of her voyages before something interesting comes up in the exchange.
Venti: (blearily) Mngh. (yawns) Well, it seems that the lull of sleep is trying to whisk me away. (giggles to himself) But this night, I find that sweet words and good company keep the nod at bay.
Beidou: (groggily) Well said, my friend. Well said. (plops a weighty bag of mora) But unfortunately, I actually gotta get goin’ now. (stretches and pops some creaks in her joints)
Venti: (turns to her) Mind if I join you for a little stroll, just a few minutes or so? I’d really hate to think of you alone going to your abode.
Beidou: (shrugs) If you want to. (gets off the stool)
Venti: (hops from his stool) Wonderful! Well come on, my friend, into the night! We cannot waste the precious moonlight! (makes to walk out)
Beidou: (raises her eyebrow in confusion) Do . . . bards not have to pay for drinks or something?
Venti: (stops in his tracks) Ehh. (looks to the five bottles stacked neatly where he sat) You would think that my songs and presence would be payment more than enough, but in retrospect, I didn’t think I would take to this season’s bottle that much. (shudders) Even considering the drinks I snag and grab, it pales in comparison to the oppressive tab . . .
Beidou: (casually) Don’t worry about it.
Venti: (surprised) Huh?
Beidou: (turns to him) For you, it’s on me.
Venti: (gratefully) Really? Tab and all?
Beidou: (nods) Yup. *Tab and all.
You would think that after seeing how much Venti drank and allegedly drank per according to several eye-witnesses, Beidou wouldn’t have agreed to do this.
Venti: (grabs her hand and shakes it fervently) My dearest thanks my good friend! I’ll repay you with a tale- no an epic to the adventures and stories that will never end!
Beidou: (laughs) It’s fine, I’m just helping you out a bit.
Charles: (struggles to speak at all and eventually gives up trying to, only sighing deeply as they both walk out the door)
A few weeks later in Guyun Stone Forest, Beidou, and Kazuha are chatting on the railing of the Alcor when Mora-Grubber comes up to hand her a piece of paper and assumedly discuss it’s contents.
Mora-Grubber: (head lowered) I apologize if I’m interrupting anything Captain, but this is kinda important.
Beidou: (nonchalantly) Nah, it’s okay. (to Kazuha) Sorry kid, it was starting to get pretty good.
Kazuha: Please, there’s no need for you to be. (curiously) However, I would feel quite delighted if we could continue this story at a later time tonight, if that’s alright with you?
Beidou: (claps him on the shoulder) Of course, you don’t have to ask!
Kazuha: (gives a small smile) Okay! (begins to make his way to the crow’s nest)
Beidou: (turns to Mora-Grubber) Alright, so what’s the issue?
Mora-Grubber: This, Captain. (hands her a paper)
Beidou: Huh? (sees the paper) What about my personal taxes? There’s not some fine I forgot to pay, is there?
Mora-Grubber: Not fines, no, but if you look here and here . . . (points to a few things circled in ink)
Beidou: (focuses on those) Okay, so I have the deduction here and then we have the foreign sales tax . . . (eye widens significantly) and over three million mora? (clamps her mouth shut and breathes in heavily)
Mora-Grubber: Captain?
Beidou: (clamps her eye shut and exhales briskly) No, no, you’re fine, but (struggles to articulate) . . . how?
Mora-Grubber: (slowly) Well, Captain, the grand total of 3,875,325 mora is the baseline for what is being taxed, so . . . you’ll actually be paying more than that.
Beidou: (pauses) . . . really now. Huh.
Mora-Grubber: (uncharacteristically nervous) I mean, I could run these tax forms and crunch the numbers again-
Beidou: (lightly) No, that number sounds about right. (sighs deeply) Well, I guess I gotta head on into town and meet with some folks . . . (groans) Wow. So I’m pretty much-
Mora-Grubber: Bankrupt? Yeah. Already submitted the paperwork for that.
Beidou: (sighs deeply) By the Archons . . .
Mora-Grubber: (pats her shoulder with the intent of comfort) I’ll run the numbers again just to be sure that there ain’t anything fishy with this. Don’t worry, Captain, I’ll get to the bottom of this! (to herself as she walks away) I didn’t know someone could get the wholesale tax slammed on them like that . . .
The picture of a certain Tianquan cackling as she looks through the bankruptcy filings only serves to sour Beidou’s mood even further after the fact.
---
Note: The characterization for this one was a little rougher than I would like after going over it a couple of times, especially for Venti and Kaeya, but I hope to get better in the future because the rhyming bit was fun as hell and honest Kaeya is refreshing to think about.
*The wiki says that Venti can take at least 37 glasses, but it never clarifies if that was the limit, only suggesting that he could totally go more. So he does.
*Also, the way I figured out the tab was with these numbers: Each bottle would be about $22 retail, but he canonically takes it by the glass. Each wine bottle has about five glasses worth in it and each glass would be about $15 each per according to what the average is and the quality of the wine itself, not including tips. This, combined with how much Venti drinks (minimum of two bottles per visit) and converted into mora ($1 = ~163 mora) is astronomical at best and unfathomable at worst.
The total is bigger than that, but an average of six bottles a week is plausible for Venti. And generous to his character, considering it’s likely more and that his gnosis was responsible for his disturbing lack of alcohol poisoning.
(inspired by Beidou's lore concerning how she conducts herself, wacky hijinks and mishaps that can be assumed in respective character lore and content, and a minimal amount of taxes and business law)

okay so you know how crystalflies are attrached to elemental energy? consider this: old Mondstadt had a lot of crystalflies back in the day. Feasting on the amount of storm energy there is. Decarabian has a couple floating around him and the first time those crystal butterflies landed on Amos she froze in place. Fear of butterflies unlocked. Deca noticed her unease and held her arm as a couple butterflies rested on her. Even after the storm god died the crystalflies of mondsadt flock to her
Aw 🥺 but also fear of butterflies justified 👍
And also apparently lingering remains can stick to a person if they knew them for a long time/killed them so 😔

Dani has a Mallen streak in her hair, and the reason for that had been usage of a Pyro Delusion acquired during the time she abandoned the Fatui. She had taken it and the uniform off a slaughtered Pyro agent and used it to sneak/fight her way to freedom, promptly passing out once the adrenaline wore off.
She planned to dispose of it immediately afterwards, having become wary of it after noticing the greying, but ultimately chose to keep it in reasoning that it could come in handy. Even if she is still sort of afraid of it.
#hc#v; intertwined fates (genshin verse)#//Her plan to escape had basically been Pretend to be a different Fatui and sneak out#//But ended up raising too much suspicion so the plan then became Fight my way out as different Fatui so they’re blamed as deserter; not me#//Worked decently well; esp after releasing an experimental subject who Also when ape shitt on the nearby Fatui#//She knew if she went on by slaughtering; she could have her own disappearance passed off as likewise having been killed#//Esp since only a select handful ever saw her face; and most she did target on her way out#//But it’d be FINE; she reasoned then—she wasn’t particularly close for them to really care anyways#//The real problem had been actually getting off and away from Inazuma to complete her escape#//Which had been accomplished with a Waverider and by the skin of her teeth#//With a little aid from her Vision; too—that’s probably what helped her break past the storm enough#//Enough before the waverider did break and she had to glide/swin the rest of the way to Guyun Stone Forest#//Then getting off THERE had been a whole other can of worms to deal with#//But hey; at least she was free; right?#//Back on topic; she has used the Delusion a couple times since#//At first; she felt exhausted after use; then it actively showed signs of draining her vitality and the greying began#//She definitely mildly terrified of it; but it’s an asset all the same so she doesn’t get rid of it#//Only three people in her little group are aware she has it; because they got to see her break it out in a pinch#//One of whom had been her group’s healer who had Not been happy to see it#//For a slew of reasons besides the obvious#//Genuinely only has it as a last ditch effort—will Not use it until her whole team is down and/or she’s near on her last legs#//Which is still dicey af; considering it’s effects. but hey; if it can help in a pinch? any all means; she’ll gladly take the risks#//She still kept the uniform; actively displays the mask in her room like a trophy#//Can and will don it again for lols; she like how it feels#//Uses it a lot when she steals things in Mond/other nations#//Identifiable as a Pyro agent who seem to exclusively use melee attacks. and an odd burst of hydro#//But if she’s forced to do the latter; then she’s gotta kill all witnesses for sure. or try to; anyways#//She assumes the Delusion itself caused the greying; it’s actually bc she used it AND her Vision in tandem#//The severe strain on her body is what caused it and will continue to if she isn’t wary of that

SAGAU but with Scheming Creator!Reader Impostor AU [PT. 4]
Note on this chapter: manipulative!reader!creator is downgrading themselves just for shit and giggles
Tumblr media
The pursuit went on for such a long time that you could nearly make out the silhouette of the sun in the distance. As soon as those who were chasing you received notice directly from the Tianquan of the Liyue Qixing, they immediately gave up and stopped their search of you.
You do suppose that they are all present at the place where Zhongli is enjoying himself while slowly and sweetly tending to their beloved creator.
It wouldn't even be a surprise if they started chasing after you once more at this point. But not with the intent to destroy you; rather, to capture you and adore you.
You did notice that Zhongli caught the crystal tear that you let out when you were preparing to leave the place, so it wouldn't be hard for him to convince everyone that the creator who is enjoying their time in your own throne is a fake.
Zhongli may give off the impression that he is a nice and compassionate man; however, this outward demeanor belies a murderous nature that he possesses.
Even if he has the ability to disguise himself as a mortal, he will never be able to conceal the fact that he went on a murderous rampage during the archon war.
You can't help but be reminded of the way he looked at you that night, and it's probably only a matter of time until he makes another attempt to see you once more.
“Hah. What a possessive bunch,” You mumbled under your breath as you tucked a strand of hair behind your ear.
You let out a contented sigh as you take in the sound of the birds chirping and begin to hum a tune as the grass gently caresses your feet as you stroll.
The rush of adrenaline that you experienced while you were always on the verge of dying away has not yet completely left your system.
The landscape in and around Liyue is breathtaking. In point of fact, it is the excellent nation in which to frolic about under the bright stars while being hunted like a rabbit.
Hours passed and the sun is almost blinding as you stood once again on top of the Guyun Stone Forest.
You are quite a distance away from the Crux Fleet, which is in the middle of the ocean; even so, this is precisely where you need to be.
Even if you have the ability to immediately teleport to Inazuma, you are not so ungenerous as to deny them the opportunity of offering you a very friendly greeting.
Exciting, isn't it? Once you arrive, will you be greeted with warm pleasantries, or will the sharp and icy blades stab you in the chest first?
From your vantage point on the stone, you surveyed the area below in the ship and noticed that they were making preparations to depart.
You are aware that Beidou is a rather laid-back individual, but there is no doubt that the other people who are boarding the ship are already aware of an imposter who is traveling across the nation of Liyue.
Thus, you used some of your spare time to search for materials that could be used to fashion something that could conceal your upper body while also not drawing too much attention to itself.
Although you prefer to be undisguised just for the sake of taunting everyone, you still need to reach Inazuma.
You can’t have them throwing you off the ship now, can you? Or maybe you do? There are countless possibilities, and all of them are very exciting to experience.
Simply taking in the sight of their enchantingly furious faces is enough to satiate your insatiable need for amusement.
You let out a bored sigh as you tugged the veil down slightly, just enough to cover your chin. At that moment, you caught a glimpse of Kazuha sitting by the edge, his stature facing you, his head slightly tilted upwards, and his eyes closed as if trying to enjoy the breeze coming to him before it disappeared.
He exudes an air of tranquility, much like Venti did in Windrise.
Your lips begin to twitch into a smile as an idea race through your head.
In an instant, you found yourself high above the clouds and falling directly towards the ship. Since you are aware that someone will catch you, you aren't really experiencing any fear at this point.
And someone really did.
The boy who had been sitting there quietly all of a sudden rose up and leaped up, giving the impression that he was actually aware of it and was very much ready to catch you.
The veil fluttered wildly, paired with the boy’s clothes dancing in the air because of the strong wind.
You could feel the anemo vision trembling and a wind coming from the boy swirling and grasping you.
All visions in the area resonated with your aura and blazed brilliantly, as if they were aware you were in danger.
You felt warm hands held your body, and the creaking sound of the wood reminded you that you had already landed.
There were a number of gasps that could be heard, and shortly after that, the sound of individuals speaking in low whispers started to permeate the surroundings. However, what attracted your attention was Beidou staring at the vision on her hips in a manner that indicated she was surprised to witness her vision reacting in such a way for the first time.
‘It appears that even the visions are strongly reacting to my presence,’ You thought to yourself, giving a sly grin behind your veil.
After what seemed like an eternity, all of the crew members of the crux were suddenly jolted out of their stupor and realized that someone had just literally dropped down into their ship from the sky.
They were about to approach you in hopes of interrogating you when Beidou lifted her hand to halt their movement and prevent them from questioning you.
Perhaps she too, is also curious of you.
Maybe if her vision hadn't been constrained by her clothing, it would have made its way over to you by now.
“I haven’t seen the captain’s friend smile like that— I mean, he does smile, but his eyes are literally about to form into a heart shape!”
“Captain even forbids us to get close to the mysterious woman. Must be a big shot, huh?”
“Or maybe it’s someone close to the captain. Well, whatever, just don’t disturb the lady. Get back to work!”
Kazuha gave you a warm smile, who was pressed up against his chest. His hands are firmly gripping you, not the least bit considering releasing their hold on you.
He felt the dull vision stored deep within his pockets burned for a moment as if trying to get out before the feeling went away once he finally caught you. This does nothing but strengthen his belief that you are the person he has been searching for all along.
"The winds have changed," he whispered tenderly as he started to move carefully to the back of the ship where there are fewer people, the genuine smile on his face not wavering even the tiniest bit.
You let out a quiet laugh, and the sound was almost like wind chimes as it reached his ears.
You gave a very tiny cocking of your head to the side, and Kazuha could almost picture your face painted with a kind smile as it always was.
Even though your face is hidden by the veil, he cannot help but feel a fluttering in his chest whenever he considers the possibility that your eyes, which he imagines to be breathtakingly lovely, are fixated on him.
“How so?”
After placing you on the ship's wooden rail, he took your hand in his and planted a passionate kiss on the back of your hand.
What a bold kid.
“Because you’re now home, my creator.”
You gave him a sideways glance while giggling quietly at his antics before responding, "I shall remember this first welcome I have received." Kazuha blinked, appearing to be puzzled. “May I ask why?”
"You were the very first person to greet me when I arrived in this world," You spoke in a quiet voice, and he could detect a trace of melancholy and yearning in your voice.
And finally, you can see that the smile that was plastered on Kazuha's face from the very beginning has begun to waver, almost as if he has come to some kind of understanding.
That’s right, no one would welcome you, not if you were being accused of being an imposter.
You kept a close eye on him, noticing how his hands clenched into a fist as he observes your tired expression. Even so, he did not display any signs of anger and instead move his gaze at your hands, which appeared to be shaking slightly.
He stood there watching you sigh, without moving as your hands moved to clasp his and slowly uncurled his fist.
"It's not good to harbor hatred in one's heart," You opened his hand and made small circles on his palm, as if attempting to calm him down. "You know that better than I do, Kazuha."
"You are too good for this world, my divine creator," he mumbled, concentrating on the sensation in his palm.
You laughed as you realized Beidou was listening in on your talk from behind a pillar.
You let out a snort. Does she think you can't spot her?
"Teyvat was simply one of the countless stars I have created; it is far from flawless, but it will always be my home."
Kazuha's attention was captured by you as he waited eagerly to hear your tale.
You turned your head to gaze at him from below as you brought your hands to rest on his head and lovingly patted the soft locks.
"Just as I desired to feel a sense of belonging in this world, I also hoped that my creations would feel the same way and make this world their home—" Kazuha misunderstood your heavy sigh as a sign of melancholy. But you were only trying to remember the garbage nonsense that the Akademiya scholars had written about you.
You are just that bored and feel like sharing that crap with one of your precious characters.
You spent your nights reading a lot of books about yourself in this world, and every single one of those books is full of meaningless rubbish. Nevertheless, you will settle for whatever you can get your hands on.
If you include a touch of angst and tragedy in your tale, you can instantly raise it to the level of art that it truly deserves to be.
However, for Kazuha and Beidou, who are currently listening in on the story, this is more than a passing feeling of sadness. They have already started to feel depressed in your place.
"When I first created Teyvat, I always made certain that the living beings in the place I created were always happy. They desired something to help them protect themselves while I am not present, so I provided them a vision with a portion of my power."
The Akademiya scholars really are imaginative.
You came to a stop for a moment when you noticed Beidou not far away, caressing the vision on her hip as if it were the finest gift she had ever received.
"I granted and they received; as long as their faces light up with a smile, then I am pleased."
"It's just— I wish I had the strength to go on. I can still do it, but I'll be too weak to even make an appearance. As a result, I vanished from the world to continue meeting their demands,"
Beidou's expression hardened as she came to the realization that while their real creator is experiencing the drawbacks of granting them the power to defend themselves, the fake creator who descended a long time ago is enjoying the benefits that are not supposed to be theirs.
You carried on despite the fact that neither of the other two responded to what you said. "I returned to this world not too long ago," You said as you appeared to be reminiscing about something as you gazed up at the sky.
“It seems like it’s time for me to take a step back and rest,” You laughed to lighten the mood, but the two people who were listening to your story did not experience any sense of relief as a result of your humor. After listening to your story, their hearts felt even heavier, to the point where it was practically difficult for them to breathe normally.
You— take a step back and rest? Does this mean that they will never be able to see you again once you have made the decision to eventually depart from the world that you have created?
Beidou was unable to stand it any longer and eventually emerged from her hiding position. As she approached you, she peered at you closely with her brows furrowed and took several significant strides forward.
“If they ever apologize to you, will you forgive them?”
You withdrew your hand and placed it on your lap, "Why would I forgive them?"
Beidou and Kazuha blinked at the same time.
"I will never be able to blame them. It is because I was lacking in some way and did not meet their expectations that they even chose to replace me with someone else," As you spoke, you let out a sigh and tugged off the veil that was concealing your upper body. At last, they were able to see the gentle smile of their actual creator, which was directed at them.
How really unfortunate. But they have no right to feel sad, not when you are the one bearing all the suffering of this world, but your people never acknowledged it and instead continued to worship someone who doesn't even do batshit.
Their divine creator is just far too merciful and forgiving of their wrong doings. They are simply far too wonderful to remain in this world, and they do not deserve the favors and blessings you are bestowing upon them.
"Perhaps, I am not a good creator. The people that live in this world deserve the best, and if they can find what they're seeking in the creator that they've been protecting, then I can't help but just be glad for them.”
If self-downgrading is an achievement, then you probably would’ve receive a customized name card for yourself by now.
Kazuha struggled to find his voice before eventually expressing himself. "That is not true; we are the ones who do not deserve you, my divine creator."
"They may have turned their backs on you, but I will stick by your side till the very end of time."
"Kazuha, you are destined for something much more meaningful. If you continue to follow me, you will only harm yourself." You made a motion with your head to indicate that you did not agree, and the youngster quickly kneeled down in front of you.
You heaved a sigh and patted his head. What a well-behaved youngster.
He is someone who obeys his creator solely for the purpose of protecting them, and not like the archons, for the purpose of having the creator all to themselves.
You gave Beidou just a fleeting look, almost as if you were about to ask for her help, and she almost laughed at how adorable you are. It would seem that their creator is even capable of experiencing discomfort when confronted with an act of genuine kindness.
Or, it's possible that you've become so used to being attacked that you've forgotten what it's like to be loved.
The moment Kazuha glanced up at you with his begging eyes, you instinctively covered them with your palm.
“The sun is bright; you might hurt your eyes.”
“I think it is lovely,” Kazuha said with a smile while looking at you even more intently with a thoughtful gaze.
In response, you let out a chuckle as you ruffled his hair in a playful manner. Clearly comfortable, Kazuha let out a contented sigh as he slowly dozed off with his head resting on your lap.
You started mentally counting down from ten while humming a melody to yourself and playing with the lone wandering samurai’s hair in the meantime.
It's only a matter of time before the people who have been hunting you catch up with you in the end.
Teyvat was whispering, you sense the ground to be rumbling.
It seems as though an angry archon is getting closer and closer, and while this won't have any negative effects on you, it will most certainly have consequences for the individuals he rules.
‘You really did not disappoint me, Morax.’
To think that he would breach the contract he had with the Tsaritsa only for you, and that he would personally obtain his gnosis back just so that he could see you once more is far more amazing.
Amber eyes that shone brightly and were filled with fixation peered directly at you from a great distance away. The Geo Archon is willing to go to war with another nation simply to be able to have you in his arms.
It's likely that you went too far with your performance, and as a result, you may have caused the Geo Archon to lose their final shred of sanity. But that would just make things even more interesting, right?
You turned your head to stare at the sky, giving him your disapproving glance in response to his obsession on you.
Morax became more cautious with his grip on his weapon as soon as he noticed you looking at him in a manner that conveyed such dissatisfaction.
Simply for your own sake, he has taken this extreme measure. The nation of the Electro Archon is a considerably more hostile one, and although he acknowledges that he also failed his duty to defend you against his people, this does not mean that he will not seize the opportunity to amend his wrongdoings once given the opportunity.
The ground began to violently shake, and even the water in the ocean started to get restless. The area was quickly filled with the sound of a crowd that had gathered along the shoreline.
He is so desperate to get his hands on you that he has even sought the assistance of his adepti.
“Shit— prepare to set sail!” Beidou exclaimed.
You caught his glance, and although if on the surface you appear to be dissatisfied, on the inside you can't help but chuckle at the sight of his face.
"My divine creator…" Because of the look you were giving him, his heart aches, and in an effort to soothe himself, he absentmindedly touched the weapon that you had given him.
You don't have any resentment towards him, do you? As long as you are still alive, he has a chance to make amends and win your forgiveness.
He is eager to do whatever it takes to keep you entertained only so that you will look at him once more.
Morax fixed his hard gaze firmly on you while murmuring something to himself in a dark voice, "...allow me to be selfish."

Tumblr media Tumblr media
Is it really love that XIAO’s feeing? He can’t be sure, especially when he can’t even identify the complicated emotions that are making his heart flutter.
However, there’s no time to sit here pondering and examining, not when his heart longs for you at the very mention of your name, or how he just can’t seem to get the thought of you out of his head. He has to find a way to express what he’s experiencing, and soon, before the three words he dreads to speak escapes his lips against his will.
“I love you.”
You’d think it’d be such an easy task to complete, yet the adeptus grows uneasy at the mere thought of it. Perhaps denying him is the worst possible solution, but what should happen if you grow wary of him? Would you stray from his occasional touch, and fail to meet his eye? Xiao can’t risk finding out, yet by the day his quickened heartbeat seems to be growing all the louder.
“Ah, Xiao.” A faint smile crosses your face as you glimpse the familiar male at his usual spot, standing alone by the balcony railing, his arms crossed over his toned chest. “You wanted to speak to me?”
“Yes,” he speaks slowly, wanting to prolong this moment - to see your warm smile just a fraction longer. “There is something… I must tell you.”
You cock your head, letting out a little laugh upon seeing his troubled expression. “There’s no need to be nervous, go ahead!”
Would there be a need to if you knew what he was to ask of you?
He shakes his head lightly as to clear his meddling thoughts, his hair ruffled from the breeze. “I…I don’t know how to put this, but I-“ His breath catches in his throat, and he forces a swallow. “You’re all I think about, all I dream about. I’d do anything and everything for you. I love you, so please… let me call you mine. I just, I…” Xiao can’t even begin to explain what he’s feeling right now, or give a valid explanation for his actions. His gaze doesn’t miss the shocked expression that flits across your face, his own eyes hesitant to meet yours. But they do, upon hearing the melodic sound of your voice uttering his name.
“Xiao, I… archons, do you know how happy you’ve just made me?” Your words are breathy as you take in a shallow inhale.
He blinks once, and suddenly, you’re in his arms, pressing against him like you never want to let him go.
Warm.
In the pale moonlight, the smile that graces his lips is slight, but catches your attention all the same.
“Perhaps I was made to love you.” ♡
Tumblr media
Yes, he’s heard tales of this adoration before, and however unfamiliar, KAZUHA as to convey these feelings before he’s unable to contain them a second longer.
Perhaps that was why he had unconsciously invited you out for a quiet stroll around Guyun Stone Forest, where the Crux was currently anchored. It was an innocent request, but the male did have some ulterior motives in mind - perhaps you’d understand if you read one of the many poems he’s written while thinking about you… lips pressed together in thought, a quill in his dominant hand as the other sat beneath his chin, the dim candlelight illuminating the focused expression on his face, his cheeks just slightly flushed with red…
Ah, but there’s no chance in Celestia that he’d ever show you his works of you. Those words are for him to read, just like what he’ll say to you tonight is for only you to witness.
Kazuha takes you by the hand, his touch warm in the cool night air. His bandaged fingers intertwine with yours, and while you don’t make a move to retract, his grip on you tightens all the same.
“Kazuha? Why’re…” While your companion has always been rather open to displaying his physical touch, he had never been this daring before, to take your hand and not even uttering a word about the manner. Something about his air was different this evening, but it was difficult to put a finger on it, especially with the distracting smile he sent your way that seemed to make your mind go blank.
“Hm? Is there something wrong?” He can’t possibly ask a question with that charming face of his and expect to receive a proper answer. Instead, you just sheepishly tilt your head to where the two of you’s hands meet. At that, he lets out a low chuckle, the gleam in his eyes proving his amusement. He doesn’t know what has given him this amount of confidence, how he’s become bold enough to pull you closer… perhaps it was the sake Beidou offered to him earlier? That’s the only possible explanation.
Gently, like the warm breeze, he lifts your hand, swiftly getting down on a knee as he brushes his velvet lips against your skin.
“Have I made my infatuation towards you apparent yet? I love you.”
The moment seems to pause time, everything, all of it, but you can sense how your lips move despite how you’re still frozen, “I love you too, Kazuha.”
Ah, the way his name rolls of your tongue so naturally sends his heart racing.
“It’s always, always been you.” ♡
Tumblr media
As much as he’ll try to deny it, WANDERER, who doesn’t even have a heart to ponder these sensations, knows that what you’re doing to him is something he doesn’t wish to admit.
It’s unfair, really, how easily you’re able to sway his resolve. Every part of you is simply infuriating, from the way you say his name, to the way you gaze at him, it makes his face warm, and seemingly nothing he does is able to prevent that. And it’s strange, how he can still experience these… affections, even with his missing core. If it makes any sense, you bring a sort of humanity to him.
It was a philosophy he had crafted for himself - that there were certain aspects of what made one human, requirements that the puppet had been unable to fulfill. That is, until you appeared, because you made him feel something he didn’t want to confess, and bearing… love… made him like you.
At the same time, it scares him. Love is a foreign concept, if anything, and he’s constantly afraid that he’ll make a mistake that’ll cause you to leave him. He can’t let that happen - he can’t even imagine his life without your warmth now. Ah, but if he told you how he really felt, would that keep you by his side? He’s paranoid, yet desperate for your affection, and a confession seems to be his only solution.
A letter bearing your name arrives at your doorstep, the only evidence of the sender being a small sparrow perched upon the paper, chirping insistently until you had taken the envelope.
Meet me at our usual spot at dusk.
Those seven words are all that’s written on the blue-rimmed parchment, with no signature to identify the individual, yet you let out an amused laugh. There’s only one companion with this amount of audacity, and you can already picture his scowl as he wrote these words.
“Hello?” You tentatively call out his name into the evening air, glancing around yet seeing no sign of him. There’s a great gust of wind, and there he appears, donning his signature ridiculously large hat, the dangling charms on it swaying with the breeze.
“There you are.” Crossing your arms over your chest, you smile. “For a second, I thought you were going to ditch me for the fun of it.” Truthfully, you wouldn’t put it past him.
He ignores the comment. “There’s something I’ve been meaning to tell you.”
You’re slightly startled by his suddenly serious tone, but nod along. “Alright…?”
“I like you.”
“…Sorry?” How strange, it seems like today your ears have decided to play tricks on you?
A light scowl makes its way upon his face as he visibly grits his teeth. “Augh, fuck it- I said, I love you, idiot.”
There’s no mistaking the flush that’s descended upon his expression, dusting the tips of his ears and his cheeks. “Uh?” You sound stupid, but that’s the only sound you’re able to utter as you stare at the male in utter shock.
“I’m not repeating myself three times.”
You shake your head, frantic as you can feel your heart rate increasing. “No- I heard you the first time it’s just that- I…” it’s hard to explain what you’re feeling right now, so you don’t, instead wrapping your arms around and pulling the two of you closer.
He seems to melt in your hold.
“I can’t even begin to fathom my life without you, so please, stay by my side.” ♡

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Oh..” you murmured in less than a whisper. You were hidden behind a few rocks; you had come to meet Morax, the god of Liyue, but your dearest friend, Guizhong, was already there with him, and it looked like they were having a moment. You couldn’t help but want to listen in, because after all it was Morax who you had loved for most of your life.
You were a foreigner to Liyue; you came from Inazuma. But you weren’t any ordinary Inazuman. You were the third and youngest of the Raiden sisters, who ruled over Inazuma itself. No one other than the archons knew about your existence, because Ei and Makoto kept you a secret, protected. Although not many knew, there had indeed been a few attempts on the lives of the Raiden sisters, and this was what they wanted to protect you from.
After you had a few centuries of battle experience and training under your bag, you were allowed to explore the world. You were not tied down with the duties of ruling Inazuma. Naturally, you attracted the attention of the gods, each one of them remarking on how you inherited all the characteristic features of the Raidens.
Only the heavens above knew how you managed to become the best friend of one of the major gods, and that too Morax. But he was the reason you chose to settle down in Liyue. As time passed, your feelings for Morax, also called Zhongli by his friends, also grew more than platonic.
Now see, you knew Morax was something of a blockhead when it came to feelings. So you didn’t think much when Morax kept sending you mixed signals. You both were immortal gods after all, you had all the time in the world. You continued to hopelessly fool yourself, thinking that just perhaps, there was a chance of him loving you back.
Then came the goddess of Dust, Guizhong. A minor goddess she was, but a wonderful one. It didn’t take her too long to make her way into everyone’s hearts, including yours and Zhongli’s. While you both quickly grew into fast friends, there was just one thing that constantly irked you. Just one. It was the way she quickly grew so incredibly close to Zhongli.’
You knew that Guizhong fancied Zhongli; she confessed it to you yourself. You were forced to merely plaster a fake smile upon your face and laugh her words off.
That brought you to this day: watching Guizhong confess to Zhongli. And the amount of heartbreaking anguish when Zhongli accepted with a smile, pulling her in close, after having remained oblivious to all your advances over the decades…. It was just… You couldn’t handle it. It was too much.
You quietly sneaked away as soon as possible. And then.. And then came the coughs and the bloodstained petals. Being from Inazuma, you knew all about it of course. Hanahaki. Needless to say, you were horrified. Since that day, you somewhat avoided the duo on the pretext of the ongoing Archon War. It was here that you showed your true battle prowess as a Raiden. You alone decimated entire armies of the enemies, leaving not even ashes.
The war went on for months. You lost many allies in fighting to ensure that Makoto and Morax got seats in the Seven. Till sundown you fought without relent, showing that even a beauty can be dangerous. At night, you gave your fallen comrades the proper, respectful  farewell they deserved. By now, only the last few contenders for the heavenly thrones were left. The last opponent for Morax was the ocean god, Osial, in Guyun Stone Forest, and his followers. Recognising the serious threat he posed, you did agree to team up with Morax to eliminate him. The path for Morax to become an archon would then become clear. Through experience, you both knew that you two together were a formidable force.
The battle was a long and exhausting one. You both started at sunrise, and barely managed to subdue him by sundown, having understood that even with their combined power, they would not be able to kill Osial. You both went back to your makeshift camp, looking forward to just resting for the night. Thank the gods you had very few coughing fits during the battle.
And yet, the moment you stepped past the protected borders, you felt that familiar eerie chill that crept up your spine. The heavy silence that hung ominously, the one that meant something was dreadfully, terribly wrong. And you were right. You took in the scene. The five Yakshas of Liyue were present, and they seemed to be sealing some sort of hexagonal structure, which was suspended above a figure. And the figure…
Was Guizhong.
Any dislike you harboured towards the Goddess of Dust disappeared as you laid your eyes upon the figure that had been turned to stone. The first and utmost thought in your mind was that something was wrong with your second best friend. Evidently Morax had come to the same conclusion. He let out a strangled sound as you both ran towards what remained of Guizhong. As you both gingerly touched her as if she was made of glass instead of stone, you knew. It was clear- Guizhong was no more.
Despite your stormy emotions, it seemed you were capable of only letting out a few tears. Morax seemed to be physically incapable of crying, yet his emotions were plainly displayed on his face for all to see.
That night, you stayed with Morax, doing your best to comfort him, despite needing comfort yourself. Neither of you had any more tears to shed.
That night, Morax has emerged as one of the Seven with your help, but you both lost Guizhong along the way.
~◈~
2 millenia had passed since the Archon War, and it left its scars on everyone. However, you could be lying if you said that you didn’t feel relieved that Guizhong was out of the way. You also felt guilty for feeling like that. But it was rather funny, how you managed to survive with your hanahaki for 2000 years, while most died within a few months. You supposed the reason was that Morax, who now completely lived as the mortal Zhongli in the Harbor, was seriously the absolute master at giving out mixed signals. He often unknowingly did things that lovers did, giving you hope. Yet that hope gets squashed a few days later, and the cycle continues. In all honesty, the hanahaki wasn’t really a big problem, more like a chronic disease that you had come to accept as a part of your life.
You knew that while Zhongli had mostly recovered by now, he still irrationally blamed himself for Guizhong’s death. You often told him to move on, yet he never said anything. You could see how opposed he was to the idea though. That’s why it was a surprise when he invited you to his office in the funeral parlor right after you returned from Inazuma. You could see on his face that there was something that pleased him. He first enquired about your travels and stuff, then said, “[name], do you remember how you’ve always told me to move on?” “Oh yes. Have you been thinking about that?” “Indeed. Although Guizhong will always have a special place in my heart, I believe that I am now ready to mingle again. I realised recently… that I have feelings for someone new.”
You couldn’t deny the flutter of excitement you felt on hearing those words. Was this finally it? “That’s great Zhongli! Who is it?” “Do you know the Traveler, Lumine? It’s her. I met her a while back, when you were out on your travels. I love her so much.” He proceeded to tell you all about Lumine. He was lovestruck and you could see that. With every word he spoke, you felt your heart drop more into your stomach. You were doomed. Utterly doomed.
All this time, you’d just been deluding yourself, lying to yourself. He had never loved you, and he never would. You were struggling to keep your easy smile glued to your face as yet again, you felt something rise up your throat. You politely managed to excuse yourself, your voice coming out all scratchy and raw. Once you walked out of his cabin, you sprinted towards the confines of your home. By the time you locked yourself in, some petals had already escaped and blood was smeared across your palm.
You were hunched over the sink, which was already full of flowers and blood within a few minutes. It hurt. Everything did, both your body and your broken heart. You knew your impending death was near, because never had your hanahaki been this severe. You couldn’t undergo the surgery because Zhongli was a massive part of your life, and simply forgetting about him would raise a barrage of questions. Plus, you still loved Zhongli too much to forget about him, despite the fact that somewhere deep down, you always knew that he’d never love you back.
~◈~
Your time was very close. The past few days had been spent isolated into the confines of your home, claiming to be exhausted from your latest journey whenever someone came to visit. Funnily enough, today was the day when Zhongli’s former love, and your former best friend, Guizhong, had died. In short, her death anniversary. Seemed it would be yours too.
You usually avoided visiting Guizhong’s memorial and burial site, which was in an isolated cave near Liyue Harbour. However today you thought it was fitting for you to pay your respects to her for the last time. And so, you dragged yourself out in the early morning, before sunrise. You left before anyone could see you, before he could see you.
By the time you are at your destination, your condition has significantly worsened due to the physical strain. It’s all you can do to respectfully place the flowers beside her memorial and lean against the wall. You began to speak to no one in particular in a cracked voice. “Hey Gui…? I hope.. You are at.. Peace… Just know that… I’ve never… hated you.. You’ve always been my.. Best friend.”
“How lucky you were… to be loved by Zhongli.”
Your throat choked up, not because of emotion, but because of another bout of bloody flowers. Not wanting to die there because he would see you, you got yourself out and into another deserted cave just beside. Not the best, but you had no choice. You had merely left a few petals at the entrance of both caves and a faint trail of blood in between.
By now, you had fallen to the ground in searing agony as flower after bloodstained flower forced its way out of your raw throat. You were lying on a bed of the flowers you yourself had coughed out.
How long it had been, you did not know. Perhaps minutes, perhaps hours. You started coughing again, not a moment’s respite. Your life force was almost completely drained. Any moment now.. You would be free.
It was then that you heard a horrified voice ring through the silence. “[Name]!”
~◈~
Zhongli was up at sunrise. Despite his new love, his mood was somber- it was Guizhong’s death anniversary. He had every intention to continue visiting her memorial. As usual, he sought you out. There was a rare chance that if you were in the mood, you would accompany him to pay respects to Guizhong. Yet when he knocked at your door several times and received no response, he chose to leave you alone, despite being slightly worried. You usually did respond at the very least, but he was sure you were alright,
He stopped short in front of the cave which housed Guizhong’s memorial. There was a fresh bouquet of Glaze lilies. But who brought them here? Especially since this place was practically unheard of. He took a few quick steps forward and kneeled down to inspect the bouquet. His heart lurched.
Attached to the bouquet was a small note that said, ‘To my dearest best friend, Guizhong.’ There was no name, but he recognised the handwriting well enough. [name] had already been here. Without him? Was there a reason?
His eyes were drawn to something else too. Relatively new footprints in the soil. And blood.
Blood?
His heavy footsteps echoed in the cave as he quickly walked out, following the faint trail of footprints, blood and petals. They were leading him to a nearby cave. His heart rate accelerated as he heard heavy coughing.  And behold the sight that awaited him- an utterly pretty bed of flowers and petals stained in a blood red, and someone coughing while lying on it.
“[Name]!” He cried out, completely horrified.
You curled into yourself even more on hearing his voice. All you wanted was to die in peace, why did he have to make things more difficult? Why did he have to come here? The flowers started choking and constricting your throat on their way up, ever more unrelenting, fueled by the appearance of the one who caused them. It was so hard to breathe… Just a bit more…
You felt yourself being gently lifted into someone’s strong and warm embrace. You weakly met Zhongli’s eyes, which were full of panic. You’d only seen him lose his composure like this once before, his fear more than evident on his face. “[name]- I- What happened? Please, tell me! I- I can’t lose you too!” He exclaimed frantically, feeling your life ebb away second by second, with each cough that released blood and Glaze lilies.
Your throat constricted even more, making it excessively hard to breathe. You just wanted to rest, It was all you could do to force a few broken words from your raw throat.
“...Hana..haki…” That was all Zhongli needed to know to understand. His pupils dilated in fear even more. “Who.. Who is it who made you suffer this way?” Zhongli whispered, unable to take in your completely broken state. You didn’t respond for a few moments, feeling your eyelids shut. You forced them open, not wanting to leave him hanging. “Always.. Loved you.. Always will… Be happy.. For me.. Okay? That is my last wish.” You weakly tried to reach a hand towards Zhongli, who instantly grasped it tightly in hsi, and pressed it against his face, as the realisation hit him like a truck. “What..?” He whispered softly.
Your eyes started to droop again, and you gave in, feeling nothing but qa soft ringing in your ears as your senses dulled. “[name], no, please don’t leave me!” Zhongli cried out in panic, grief and anguish, seeing you slip away from him. You simply let a small smile rest on his face as you whispered, “Just.. sleeping.. Tired.” Unable to accept your fate, he whispered, “Sleep well then, my dearest.”
But you never lived to hear that.
Because then you moved no more.
Was fate trying to mock him with [name] dying in his arms, in front of him, on the same day as Guizhong’s death? You were always there for him, always there with him, until you weren’t. And never in his immortal life was Zhongli able to forgive himself for this, knowing that he was the reason you were dead.
mm yes now hows that huh? gonna disappear for a few days now haha tags and comments are very much appreciated!

you stare.
dark brown scales, decorated with shining gold lines seem to pulse under the sunlight filtering through the curtains.
you stare harder.
the long appendage twitches before it shifts to hide behind the man standing right in front of you.
"your grace," morax coughs awkwardly into his fist and upon being greeted with your silence, decides to go back to fiddle with the coat he was halfway putting on before you barged in, "i believe it is still… thirty minutes before our scheduled stroll. is something the matter?"
instead of answering, you blurt out in an amazed voice, like a young child that just spotted their favorite candy, "you have a tail!"
"i… yes, well, considering that i am a dragon, and they do have tails-"
"it's so pretty! why don't you have it out more often?"
the genuine enthusiasm in your voice makes him smile.
"it's- ah, it could be an inconvenience sometimes."
you blink, not understanding the meaning of his words. he gives you a bashful look and proceeds to focus on his garments instead. knowing that he's not going to elaborate anymore, you choose to study the scaly appendage - unlike morax's still body, it's twitching and swaying around where it rests on the floor, almost as if…
….. hmm?
"zhongli."
"yes?"
"i love you."
the sudden confession makes him go still, and you observe his reactions in interest.
"i love you too, dearest."
aside from the short pause and the elegant smile on his lips, the man looks as dignified and unaffected as ever. however, your impossibly wide grin strains your cheeks as you eye the rhythmic thumping of his tail against the floor.
"rex lapis," you gasp, "… are you wagging your tail???"
"ahem. c-certainly not, i don't-"
"oh. my. god. that is the cutest thing ever!"
"............ beloved….."
"no no no no no if you hide your tail then i'm revoking our daily walks and regular kisses!"
zhongli's tail perks up and begins to sway anxiously, and you feel like crying from how adorable this whole thing is.
"now, let us not take such drastic measures, darling. i believe this matter can be discussed, perhaps over some tea-"
"please please please let me pet your tail!"
your lover's cheeks flush pink, and you feel like the happiest deity in teyvat.
Tumblr media
people of liyue have heard of many tales. stories about adeptus protecting liyue behind the city itself, of fearsome plains drenched in monster dust as they were struck down by their god, of the stone gate collapsing and effectively cutting off supply routes from the city of freedom - not that it has been used for quite some time now….
people of liyue have seen many things. terrifying disasters almost sinking their whole city into oblivion, their beloved archon appearing once more and taking charge against vicious monsters overrunning teyvat's landscapes, their own creator coming into liyue after continuous years of prayers and offerings…
but never in their life they would have thought the day would come when they see the god of contracts himself - known for hurling stone pillars that now stand as guyun stone forest, vanquishing countless gods in the archon wars, and sealing many divine beasts who have run rampant across the land - stroll about the city arm-in-arm with the divine creator, his draconic tail proudly in full display and gently swaying side to side as the two converses softly, eyes staring deeply into each other's akin to lovers who hadn't seen each other in eons.
they see it, and they think: yes, this tale too, shall be passed down to the younger generations.

✰ main masterlist. // series masterlist.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
THE VERY FIRST TIME you asked him that question was on a day like every other. In fact, there was barely anything special about that day that could've brought rise to such a forward question. Liyue was as calm as the ocean breezes from the direction of Guyun Stone Forest, the same as ever. You were sitting across from the man of your dreams with delicacies laid out on the table at Third-Round Knockout, the same as ever.
But it was no compulsion, no forcefulness either, just a need to reaffirm. For it still felt like a dream that you were here right now, sitting across from him.
"ZHONGLI, do you love me?" You asked.
He was a man of respectable virtue, a man whose knowledge knew no bounds, a man of perfectly sculpted features that you had to rub your eyes in a daze when you met him for the first time. Nothing could begin to describe how honored you felt to have him call you his lover and him yours after all those years of admiring him from afar.
Even now, it still felt surreal. So, so surreal that he chose you, just like how you'd choose him over any other on this land — but, you needed a confirmation, a reassurance that this was all true. And so, that was why you just had to ask.
But love might've been too strong a word for a mutual connection that had only sparked so recently. Maybe he, too, thought the same because Zhongli turned to look at you with an expression that spoke of surprise. For a moment, you felt conscious underneath his questioning gaze.
Goodness, why did you say that? Why did you act so impulsive? It was as if your mouth had a mind of its own and for a moment, you wanted to bury your face in your hands and never look up.
Perhaps, you should just take back that question—
"Let me put my thoughts into words," he hummed in response, the slight shock on his face subtly dissolving into gentleness. By doing so, your thoughts were grounded to a halt as he rested a hand on top of yours. Its warmth was familiar and you had to stop a bashful smile from blooming like a flower on your lips.
Zhongli was actually humoring you and your silly question, you realized.
"Well... oftentimes, I find myself staring at Silk Flowers, knowing that they remind me of your soft gaze and that I'd want to give them to you as a gift. Although, at times, that plan is unable to come to fruition if I forgot to bring a pouch of Mora with me," he mused, eyes closed.
You stifle a mirthful laugh with your hand at the last part, even more when you noticed that he was stating it matter-of-factly rather than saying it as a joke.
"And when I sit down to watch Ms. Yun's performance, there are times where a voice in my mind echoes to me, 'they would've loved this' as I listen. Slowly but surely, you begin to occupy my mind so naturally, as natural as the cycle of the sun and the moon," he added.
You were hanging onto his every word, his melodious voice, his beautiful amber irises, his everything. You knew why; because he was never the type to sweeten his words with sugar or honey, never with the intention to entice you into falling harder for him with speech. No, rather, it was because Zhongli was always honest. As if his words were gospel to your ears; anything he said, he meant it and this time was no exception.
If there was ever a moment that you wished you could capture and replay over and over again like a broken record, it would have surely been this one. It was only when his previously serious tone morphed into a fit of chuckles was how you realized you were spacing out. His eyes crinkled even more beautifully than the crescent in the night sky as he said, "Well, is that enough or shall I tell you more?"
"N-no, that's enough," you tried to hide your face behind your unoccupied hand, albeit horribly failing because Zhongli only seemed to laugh harder. His voice echoed like music in your ears and Archons, you just fell more and more for him.
He said it himself; that he was yours, yours, yours, finally yours.
(But at the time, you were yet to be made aware of the stories from the past.)
─ ⊹ ⊱ ・・・・・・☆・・・・・・・⊰ ⊹ ─
THE SECOND TIME you asked him that question was when you discovered that Zhongli, once, had a lover. At first, it wasn't surprising to you because almost everyone had a love that either wasn't meant to be or lost itself to time. In his case, it was the latter, or so you heard from the whispers of passersby.
"There is a tavern that puts a vase of Glaze Lilies on their tables when they open at nighttime and when the gentleman from Wangsheng Funeral Parlor visits, he stares at the flowers longingly while he sits. I think the flowers remind him of someone."
"Maybe it's Mx. [Y/N] he is thinking about?"
But you knew better, Zhongli said it to you himself; Silk Flowers were what reminded him of you, not Glaze Lilies. A trivial detail to some, but it meant a lot to you. You weren't mad nor angry but instead, you felt rather curious.
You never heard any of the stories from Zhongli himself, although you supposed you already knew why. It was either he never brought it up to shelter your feelings, or maybe even his own. They said curiosity was what killed the cat, but you still held on to this curiosity, whether that be for better or for worse.
When you finally came to the decision that you'd gather the courage to ask him about her someday, it was a time when the both of you were resting from the mundane routines of the day. Your head was on his lap and his fingers were tangled in your hair, courtesy of being gently pulled onto his lap after you complained about a headache quietly.
The desire to ask Zhongli about his previous lover was constantly knocking in the back of your mind, the words of it lost somewhere on your tongue. Was this a good decision? Why did you become so inquisitive as of late? But you finally managed to gulp down the boulder of hesitation caught in your throat.
"...What kind of person was she? The one before me?"
Your tone was doubtful, your question was vague — but still, his fingers that were just carding through your hair stopped. Halted in its tracks so abruptly that you felt an instant rush of worry coursing through you, you sat up from your position with a concerned frown.
"'I'm sorry, I shouldn't have—"
"No," the man shook his head, his voice meeker than the usual certainty that you had grown used to. Your heart sank, had you crossed the line? As if your thoughts were written across your forehead, Zhongli placed his hands on your shoulders and laid you back onto his lap. "It's alright," he smiled.
You wondered if that smile was just a front to comfort you, but his gentle gesture was too hard to resist and you found staring up at his face with your head on his thigh. His gaze didn't meet yours, however; he wasn't trying to avoid you but rather, he was looking into the distance.
Looking at something, looking at a memory.
"She was wonderful," he uttered, a delayed answer to the question you asked him. The image of a fond smile had seemed to sew itself tight on his lips, you couldn't help but gape in awe at his beauty. Oblivious to your adoring gaze, he continued his story, "We used to chatter into the night, she more than I, about the present and future of Liyue with cups of Osmanthus Wine in our hands."
His fingers made themselves at home in between your locks again, smoothing out and counting the strands idly. You managed to note a familiar detail in his words as you hummed, "Osmanthus Wine? Like the one you brought home for us the other day?"
"Yes, dear, like the one I brought home for us that day," Zhongli chuckled at the sudden way your sharp memory decided to make itself apparent. "I used to drink the wine with her and my old friends," he added. Zhongli always had a fondness for that drink and only now, had he told you why.
But it invoked an unnamed feeling inside your chest, knowing that mellow yet sweet drink you once shared with your lover was actually a token from the past he used to share with another. ...Was this jealousy? No, you shouldn't. You felt guilty, terrible for feeling this way when he was speaking of nostalgic memories so beautifully.
"You must've loved her greatly," you tried to muster a smile, one that looked sweet from the outside but came from a bitter place deep down. "Yes, I did," Zhongli smiled too and the genuineness in that smile only hurt you even more.
Will he ever speak of you that way too? Will you be able to replicate the happiness that came with his previous lover and his old friends?
"Do you—" Before you knew it, you had already begun to ask yet another question that seemed to bubble up without a second thought. Your lips were dry as you carried on your sentence, "Do you love me too?"
As much as her? More than her? Less than her? Words unspoken.
All you knew was that you craved an answer from him. You didn't want reassurance, you just wanted the truth. But was it hypocrisy if you said that deep down, you were expecting yourself to be more special in his eyes? No, expecting wasn't the right word, it was hoping.
"Yes, I loved her and I love you," Zhongli smiled again, wistful. His voice was loving and his answer was said so clearly — but somehow, it only left you feeling even emptier than before.
You didn't know why, but something was just missing. Unsettled, an uneasy feeling that'd make your stomach churn like realizing that you left the door open or forgot something important at the tip of your tongue.
(Or maybe, you really were a hypocrite, after all.)
─ ⊹ ⊱ ・・・・・・☆・・・・・・・⊰ ⊹ ─
For the past two times, you realized that you had been asking Zhongli the same question, merely presented in different shades. First, it was: "Do you love me?" An innocence that was meant to be a confirmation that your dream to be his finally came true. Second, it was: "Do you love me too?" A question that derived from the insecurity of knowing that he once had a lover who clearly outshone you in every way.
It was only during THE THIRD TIME you asked him that question were you finally able to pinpoint that hidden void in your chest from last time — and it just so happened that this revelation descended as the two of you stood in front of an unnamed grave.
But the bouquet of Glaze Lilies in Zhongli's hands was already telling of whom the place of resting belonged to. The sheer longing in his gaze was a telling indication too, as painful as it was for you to admit.
For these past few days, Zhongli was kind enough to tell you stories about his former lover; of her bright mind, of her delightful demeanor, of her connection to a field of Glaze Lilies in his mind, of her memorable presence in his life. Even in this moment, he invited you to come alongside him to visit her grave, an intimate and precious place that he never disclosed to anyone before. But you knew that he made sure that your comfort was his priority, never speaking or telling too much unless you specifically asked.
"It's growing dark," the sigh that came with his words drifted away to become one with the wind. You assumed if it weren't for the time, the both of you could've lingered for a little bit longer here. Zhongli kneeled on one knee to place the bouquet on top of the grave, you watched silently as a sign of respect. There were a few moments of nostalgic silence as he stood up. He rested his hands on the back of his waist, a little habit of his, and he tore his gaze away from the grave to you.
"I must thank you for accompanying me here today," Zhongli regarded you with a sweet smile but somehow, this smile was much more feeble than usual.
"Before, I was only able to cherish memories of her alone by myself," he stated as he stared into the darkening skies above that was beginning to make way for the moon to shine. But he wanted to look at you in the eyes as he spoke, so the male pivoted aside to face you properly. "You've given me the opportunity to speak of her legacy. I know that this topic might not be the easiest for you to hear, so I just want to thank you. For understanding and for listening." The smile on his face as he spoke was growing wider this time, more earnest.
Words failed you, all you could manage was to return his smile with your own. Zhongli was kind, too kind, really... which only made the guilt upon your shoulders grow heavier, for you had one last question to ask of him.
"Let's go home, dear," he held out a hand towards you, fully expecting you to grab onto it so the two of you can make your journey back to Liyue Harbor — and you did, you grabbed onto his hand but you didn't move from your position.
Your feet were firmly planted on the ground at the very same spot. Your chest felt heavier than any metal bladesmiths could ever hope to get their hands on, but you told yourself multiple things: one, that this question will be the last one and two, that his answer will not change anything between you.
You just needed to know, was all.
"Zhongli," you croaked out his name. His amber eyes crinkled at the corners with concern as he replied, "Yes?" Archons, you couldn't bear the reality that you were the one causing him to feel that way, but you managed to force the words out of your mouth before you put this off any longer.
"...Do you love her most?"
Zhongli froze, just like the very first time you mentioned her name to him that day. His mouth opened then closed again, thinking of the right words to respond. What was happening?
He was always known for his ability to be straightforward and honest. Yes, that was what he'd normally do, but that was one of the concepts about love. Love makes you do strange things, love makes you stray from your usual self before it has yet to course through your veins, love is strange — and for the first time in forever, Zhongli hesitated.
You searched for his eyes for an answer and you couldn't help, but wonder: why was he hesitating now? "Tell me the truth, tell it as it is like how you always do. But if you don't wish to answer, I understand," you squeezed his head reassuringly.
You weren't forceful, you gave him a chance to refuse, but that look in your eyes; just how much you needed to know, just how much you needed an answer. Was this the matter that bothered you all this time? Finally, he was able to figure out why such a forlornly aura had begun following you ever since the day you asked him about her.
He'll do it, he'll give you an answer. Zhongli is never one to lie and this time, he wouldn't either. He repeated your question to himself in his mind: Does he love her the most? And the answer that trickled out of his mouth in a quiet whisper was... "Yes," he said.
Your eyes widened. Not in disappointment, not in expectation, but in disbelief upon finally receiving the answer to the fog that had engulfed you for so long.
"I would cross the ocean for her, I would sacrifice my last breath for her, I would wait a lifetime of solitude for her. Even until now, that has not changed," he murmured.
"I see," you smiled ruefully, but it didn't reach your ears. You weren't able to meet her, but just through witnessing the utter loyalty the man you loved had for her, she must've been as wonderful as he described her to be. Of course, she was his greatest love and that's alright. He had all the rights to love someone that wasn't you, that's alright too. At least, the truth was finally revealed, right? That was all you wanted, right?
Right, [Y/N]?
"Please do not cry."
Zhongli spoke after what felt like an eternity of silence where you were left consumed by your own thoughts. You didn't even notice the tears that were rolling down your cheeks until he pointed it out — the warmth of Zhongli's fingers as he tried to wipe away at the pearly liquids on your face was careful, but that gesture only seemed to bring forward more of them.
He averted his gaze, "It was not my intention to make you cry..." Here came that unfamiliar hesitation again, rendering his tongue into a jumbled mess. But Zhongli decided to push through, there was something he wanted you to know; "I've never lied to you," he said, his voice and gaze were firm.
"When I told you that looking at Silk Flowers reminds me of your gaze and I want to give them to you. When I told you that I loved her and I love you. When I said that I love her the most."
By now, your tears had stopped and the only traces left of them were the drying streaks on your face. The times where you had asked him all those questions came rushing back in an instant as he listed them amidst his musing.
"Those things, they are not lies," Zhongli encased your trembling hand with both of his own, causing your blurry eyes to look at him. "I love you. This is not a lie either," he pressed a kiss to the back of your hand.
You were silent and he could feel the worry swirling inside his chest. It was only several seconds after that your mouth began to move, yet he couldn't make out what you had said. With a frown, the tall brown-haired male leaned closer and only then did he hear the words falling from your lips: "I never doubted that at all," you whispered in between sniffles.
"That wasn't a lie either, in case you're wondering," you chipped in. He chuckled, mused that you used his words against him so quickly, endeared by your very existence before him. But most importantly, his voice was rid of the sadness that he had upon seeing your tear-stricken face prior.
"Let's go home, my love," Zhongli said those words softly, as soft as the way he tucked back a stray strand of your hair that fell from its original position.
You nodded.
It was during that fateful dusk where you learnt that you were not his greatest love and that's alright. It'll take time to fully register itself in your heart and that's alright too.
(After all, he said that he loves you — and Zhongli is anything but a liar. Everything is alright, right?)

How would feel about writing headcanons about platonic yandere zhongli with a child reader who is the reincarnated version of his child who died in the past. But now the child has been reborn in the present but belongs to a different set of parent which naturally doesn’t make Zhongli happy considering he wants his child back. But I hope you get what I’m saying and are interested
have a good day!
How absolutely tragic! I love it! Have a wonderful day!
Platonic yandere Zhongli with his reincarnated child
Tumblr media
The day of your death is spent in solitude. Each year, Zhongli leaves for your grave with your favorite flowers, homemade dishes and a different children’s book each time, which he will then read out loud. The silence he receives for it is deafening. There are no animals around as the area is protected by one of his shields, though he himself always makes sure that the place is well-taken care off. Your birthday is a bit more joyful, as he will hand-pick the newest trending toys in Liyue as well as decorate your grave just like he knows you would have liked it. Both dates will have in common that no matter how dire the situation in his nation is, the archon will at the very least visit.
He has lived for millennia and is well-acquainted with the concept of rebirth and the like, and yet he never imagined it happening to you. However, there is no denying what he is seeing, hearing, feeling. You are three, maybe four, years of age, walking on your small legs in a somewhat clumsy manner and smiling with such childish innocence that makes his heart ache. The moment he heard your laughter he had turned to face you only a few steps away, his vision tunneling as he takes in your appearance. Even though you look different, are different, it is still you. He sees it in the way your eyes move curiously around the street, hears it in the littlest gasp you make when you notice something particularly interesting and feels the familiar soul, so old and yet never having had the chance to remain anything but young.
Zhongli is barely able to contain himself, every fiber of his being screaming to snatch you away, to the Guyun Stone Forest to watch the stars again and to the place which now harbors Qingce Village where you loved to play hide and seek. But alas, fear grips his heart. He sees the way your hand is held tightly in those of who must be your mother, your new father currently talking to some store clerk. The thought leaves him bitter, as if anyone could ever take his place.
But he can not let this opportunity pass, can not let you disappear in the crowd of people, though he knows that now that he is aware of your rebirth, he would find you wherever you are. He quickly walks over to the woman by your side, greeting her politely before turning to you. He has to think of some excuse for his sudden intrusion, but all thoughts die out as you look up at him and making grabby hands in his direction. Instinctively he kneels down as you leave your mother’s hold and almost stumble into his awaiting arms, joyful giggles escaping your mouth as you grasp for his clothing.
The mother is horrified, scolding you but clearly on guard around this stranger and Zhongli hesitates to let you go. He feels deeply satisfied with how you refuse to listen, preferring to stay with him instead of leaving for this woman and there’s a gentle smile he just can’t help nor contain. It’s a shame he can’t just take you away like this and he hesitantly lets you go, his heart breaking when he has to unclasp your hands, his own shaking and his voice almost failing him as he apologizes, making some kind of excuse that he did not wish for you to fall. His exterior looks awfully calm, maybe a bit embarrassed. On the inside though a storm is brewing. Why should he apologize? You came to him, you recognized him, however much that may be, he was your father, you were his child. He had seen you grow; he had taught you of this land, he heard all you had to say and express, he had witnessed your first and last breath and yet they dare to step in between the both of you.
This wrath was not unlike what he had experienced before, your death having made him a grief-stricken, vengeful god more than he was ever before. It had taken centuries for it to calm, for him to regain composure and become the gentleman he is known for. Yet it all threatens to spill over as this woman - she is Liyuen, and though he never thought like this before, shouldn’t she be grateful for the life he had granted her indirectly? It’s ridiculous, she doesn’t even know who he is - this human dare to shield you away from him.
One look at you and he sighs unnoticeably. Even if your instincts tell you to trust him, your father, he does not wish to scare you and so your meeting ends, with the trio leaving the already planning archon behind. He waits a bit before gesturing Ganyu closer. She must have felt his raging emotions and come to see, help, maybe, and now that she is already here, he might as well ask her for a favor or two.
Your parents, two loving mortals that work hard to provide you a good life, admire your creativity. Each morning you tell them of your dreams, wonderous plains, mountains higher than the sky and caves big enough to fit entire cities. You ramble of palaces made of pure gold and clouds painted in the most colorful ways. The only continual constant being the dragon that accompanies your own scaly form, a graceful being full of wisdom and stories and wonders, anything a child would love. How incredible, your parents think, it might be a blessing of the yakshas if not for the archon himself, they tell you with which you refute them that the archon is long gone. In your mind, the dragon is greater than any god and wiser than every scholar. You can’t help but wish he’d break the boundaries of your dreams.
Sometimes you see the man from before in the streets, clad in brown and gold and black and he reminds you of your dreams. He’s always smiling, too, eyes curved gently as he waves and you wave back, to which he laughs and you grin. You don’t know his name, don’t know him at all but he feels safe and you know that if you had the time you would like to run to his side and hug him again, no matter how much your parents warn you against it. You have a feeling it would make the man happy.
Zhongli watches from afar. You are as curious of the world as you always have been. He longs for you by his side again, he knows which stories he’d tell and what toys he’d buy and what food he’d make. He wouldn’t even harm your parents.
You are a curious child and when there is a trail of gold leading somewhere, you follow. When your scaly friend is waiting at the end of it, far away from any people, you run to him. When he takes off into the sky, you cling to his back. When he gives you a charm, a pretty little thing, you wear it. When he tells you that it’s so you can live with him, as his life would normally be longer than yours, you believe him. You don’t think of the people left behind, too great is the comfort and trust you feel in Zhongli’s presence. “His little treasure” he calls you affectionally and you react to it as if you had never been called anything else.
While your parents weep and cry and call your name you are taking a nap at a dragon’s side. While Ganyu tries to comfort them, knowing their efforts of finding you are, and always will be, fruitless, you play catch with the nice man. As long as you are happy and safe, Zhongli can justify anything. He had promised you long ago to always be with you, to always care for you, and what kind of god of contracts would he be if he couldn’t even hold true to that? More importantly, what kind of father would he be? Zhongli doesn’t even entertain the idea of letting you live your life as a mortal and he believes he has every right to it, too.

Reader: Fem! Adult! Reader

🐙 Your "adventure" has started at the top of one of the cliffs in Guyun Stone Forest. It took some time for you to get down. The cliff were slippery (either because of the sea or, perhaps, it was raining right before you got here), so, you tried to be careful. At the end, when you almost fall down, Lovecraft partly transformed (with his hands and legs are now replaced with tentacles) and simply crawl down, holding you, Teruko and Fyodor. You only hopped, that no one saw you. Transformed Lovecraft (even partly) was a strange, if not a frightening sight (for strangers).
And you jinxed it. Sailors from the Crux saw Lovecraft. And were thinking, that Osial got from his prison.
Crux left for the Harbor to get help.
While you and your friends trying to understand, what happened and how you got here.
🐾 Despite the fact, that you were knowledgeable about Teyvat, the situation didn't become clear. But, at least, you have a project of a plan. Go to Sumeru and ask Nahida for help. Maybe, she could give you some information on how to get home.
That's when a first stone spear fall from above.
If it wasn't for Lovecraft's strength, the spear would crush you.
Geo Archon's voice shake the ground.
"Osial! How dare you to show yourself! I will make you pay for daring to enter Her Holiness' land!"
Suddenly, everything became silent. Up above, you saw them. Zhongli... no, Rex Lapis and Adepti. For some reason... Xiao looked hesitant.
And golden draconic eyes stared right at you.
Next spear was directed at you.
"IMPOSTER! DIRTY SINNER! PAY FOR HEARSAY WITH YOUR LIFE!"
And hell broke loose.
Morax, Adepti, Mililith and Crux crew attacked.
👧👩🧓🐙🐁Teruko, with her ability and sword, and fully transformed Lovecraft were keeping mililith away, while Fyodor was staying near you, ready to use his ability, if someone get too close.
When Lovecraft saw the opportunity, he grabbed you three with his tentacles, and plunge into the sea, swimming away.
On his way, he sunk Crux ship.
Beidou's curses were heard for long time and far away from the Stone Forest.
🐾 You returned to land somewhere in Bishui Plain. All of you were wet, hungry and exhausted. You found an abandoned hilichurl camp and decided to stay here for the night. After some grilled fish for dinner, you fall asleep in one of the huts. Teruko was the first one to stay on watch. Then you. Then Fyodor. And, finally, Lovecraft.
You woke up because someone was pocking your cheek and because of some tasty smell.
When you open your eyes, you came face to face with Gouba, who was pocking your cheek, and Lovecraft, who was keeping an eye on "panda".
Lovecraft tilted his head.
"We have guests. And breakfast."
🐾 Xiangling and Gouba were gathering ingredients for some big feast, while Xinyan, Chongyun and Xingqiu were helping them. That's when they found "your" camp.
And decided to help you.
When Lovecraft and Gouba, with you in tow, left the hut, you saw, that Fyodor and Teruko were already up and sitting near campfire, with Liyue Team. And then, Chongyun saw you. Exorcist particularly jumped.
"You! Your energy... It's pure... I knew, I knew, she was fake! I told you many times about it!" Last part, Chongyun hissed through his teeth, looking at Xingqiu. He raised his hands in defense.
"I knew, but.. We can't do much against her."
You glance at Lovecraft, then at Teruko and Fyodor. While Fyodor does look like he understands more, than the rest of you, he still looked confused.
🐾You got your answers during breakfast. Apparently, you looked like Creator Goodness, that rules Teyvat. And, apparently, because of that, most people will hate you and try to capture you. And, maybe, because Ningguang already placed a bounty on your head.
And Creator's political power is enormous, so, people would be afraid to help you.
The situation was bad... Awful...
Suddenly, Xinyan almost shouted.
"Doctor Baizhu and Qiqi! You can hide in Bubu's Pharmacy! They managed to keep it closed from sudden checks from Mililith, because they would bother patients!"
Teruko raised an eyebrow.
"And how we will get here? It's in the harbor, right? We would be attacked."
Xiangling smiles.
"With two little helpers."
🐁 Yaoyao was a great tour guide. And, what was most important, she knew, where to find Qiqi, when she was picking up herbs.
Yaoyao also was very talkative. And, because she overheard, how Fyodor was mumbling in Russian, she couldn't leave him alone. She asked him to say names of everything around her in "strange new language". Fyodor answered her questions. Soon Teruko joined the "educational program." Chongyun, who was staying near you, "masking your energy" with his yang energy. Lovecraft was last in line.
When you found Qiqi, with some help from Yaoyao, she took you to Dr. Baizhu.
For some reason, Qiqi stayed close to Lovecraft.
🐾 You were lucky again, because Baizhu let you four stay, until madness calmed down.
For two weeks, everything was fine. You and Fyodor helped in Pharmacy, Lovecraft and Teruko helped with picking up herbs.
You managed to meet Yun Jin and Gaming. Both of them believed, that you didn't do anything wrong. They even offered to help you, if they could.
And then, a scared Xingqiu appeared in Bubu Pharmacy.
Ningguang and Rex Lapis were ready to look through every house in Liyue to find "dirty imposter".
And if people resist? Well, they will face the wrath of rock.
And, currently, they doubled the number of mililith soldiers on streets.
Fyodor remained calm.
"I have a plan. Can you call for Yun Jin and Gaming?"
🐾 You four were leaving Liyue. But you still can hear sounds of music, coming from the harbor.
Opera and Wushou dance. The destruction.
That got the attention of mortals.
But not Geo Archon's.
🐾 His draconic claws were squeezing your arm. His spear were aimed directly at your chest.
Teruko, Fyodor and Lovecraft were helpless.
They can't attack him, he will kill you.
They can't kill him. You have told them about Havria.
Morax bared his fangs.
A finch flew closer to you and Morax.
Animo swirls.
Morax pained roar.
And Xiao, whose spear was plunges deep in Morax's shoulder.
"Run, Your Grace!" Xiao grind his teeth, trying to keep his hold on a spear.
Lovecraft grabbed you.
You four start running away.
Up in the sky, you noticed familiar cranes. They ignored you. Flying to where Xiao and Morax were.
Tonight, Adepti were fighting Geo Archon.
_____
🐾 When you finally returned to the real world, and discover the portal, you asked BSD Cast to rescue some people.
They helped you four, despite, how dangerous it was. And you must help them in return.
