do you ever think about how delgal never blamed the winged lion for what happened to thistle?

I'll preface this by saying that he certainly COULD have done. most of the arguments that delgal had with thistle about returning the golden kingdom are off-page, and he doesn't seem to have relayed a lot of detail to yaad about how he understood thistle's behaviour.

however.

what we can infer, i think, is that if delgal blamed anything for thistle's increasingly erratic behaviour, it was the influence of "black magic" and power.

the winged lion is the golden kingdom's guardian deity, and that is how they understand it up to the present - including yaad. the prophecy that convinced delgal to leave the dungeon (which i assume the winged lion intended to use to attract another, more easily controllable, dungeon lord) is likely to be part of a long campaign the lion made of deliberately isolating thistle from the people of the golden kingdon and presenting itself as the victim.

we see that the lion is convincing, and keeps a facade of concern for thistle long past the point that it has any chance of winning him over - i don't have any doubt it was easy to present this narrative to the kingdom's people, including delgal.

but isn't it incredibly sad to think that the person who thistle trusted most in the world and did all of this for was unable to see the true victim, between him and the winged lion?

we see that very shortly upon becoming the dungeon lord, both marcille and laios become lost in their desires. this is standard.

Laios is only able to get through to marcille because he sees the root of her pain, and understands that ...

...the dungeon's power is evil.

thistle isn't acting rationally from the very beginning, but it is possible to reach him - if delgal could understand where his desire and his fear stemmed from, and that the winged lion is evil.

Thistle at least seems to know that the winged lion isn't to be trusted. Thus why he sealed it in the book. perhaps he picked up on what it was doing, manipulating the kingdom's people and him both.

But if he ever said that the winged lion was dangerous, not to be trusted, to delgal, he wasn't believed. to delgal, thistle sealed and misused the power of the golden kingdom's guardian deity. As a student of ancient magic, I believe thistle understands that isn't what the demon is - or at least not all of what it is - even if he doesn't know the details of why it's so dangerous, or that it can devour his desires. But as an 'outsider' to the golden kingdom, despite his (unofficial, i'm sure) adoption, and the fact he's been there most of his life, I doubt his saying so would be received well by the kingdom's people.

As far as we know delgal also doesn't understand the fear that is driving thistle's refusal to let the dungeon go -- the need to be useful that he instilled.

Even if he doesn't really realise, he is talking to a, at most, 15-16 year old in relative human years, and putting the responsibility for the kingdom on him - it's no wonder this is a weight that Thistle isn't able to let go of. Especially if this is how he attempts to persuade him:

It doesn't get to the root of why he asked thistle to do this to begin with - the fear of death. It's just "hasn't it been long enough, people want to leave." Well, if they leave, they will die - thistle's right about that! The only way to get him to accept that is what Yaad eventually does on his behalf at the end of the manga.

To admit that he was wrong to ask to begin with. To ask Thistle to accept loss and death. To accept it himself, truly.

Without doing that, there's no way he'd ever get through to him. So the route he takes - running away from thistle, begging that someone kill the "lunatic magician" - might be the last resort of a desperate man who blamed himself for what happened to his brother. But it's also something he does because he can't understand Thistle, and can't see his pain for what it is or his relationship with the Winged Lion for what it is.

The way that the lion manipulates others' perception to make him the victim and thistle the - well, the 'lunatic', the unstable villain and captor - really evokes DARVO to me. the demon as a metaphor for an abusive relationship. like.... look at this extra:

and it makes me sad that no-one realised what was going on until it was too late for thistle.

[Trope Interest] Twin Bodyguards and Their Hunter Sister in Supernatural Works

For some time, I’ve been fascinated by the trope of twin bodyguards who can shapeshift from humans to dog forms and their accompanying female “hunter” character. I find it interesting that this trope appears with enough frequency to be noticeable, yet it lacks a specific name, unlike “Single-Mind Twins” or “Tag Team Twins.” There are several examples of this trope. To name a few examples, Kyousougiga (Japanese) features the character Koto being followed around by her “brothers,” A and Un; Jiu Jiu (Japanese) has Takamichi followed by her shape-shifting, half-demon wolf-dog familiars, Snow and Night; and Trese (Filipino) has Alexandra with her adopted brothers, Crispin and Basilio.

Upon further review, I think that the trope of twin sidekicks/bodyguards and female hunters in supernatural comics and animation likely draws from various sources of inspiration and cultural mythology. One possible influence is the traditional Japanese folklore of “Inugami,” or “dog spirit.” Inugami were said to be the spirits of dogs that were killed by humans and were often summoned and used for various purposes, including protection, curses, and revenge. In some stories, Inugami could take on human form and even possess humans and other animals. Interestingly, these spirits could become attached to bloodlines, following a family through their descendants.

Another possible influence is the Japanese mythology of Komainu, lion-dogs that guard the entrances of Shinto temples/shrines, or the Shisa, which serve a similar purpose. Both of these seem to have derived from the Chinese (or Imperial) guardian lions, which symbolize protection (one physical and one metaphysical). Either way, around the world and over time, dog spirits have often been portrayed as both guardians and harbingers.

While I’ve come to understand, at least in part, the dog-twins potential origins, I still struggle to understand or find a related myth to a singular female hunter-type character. There is Artemis, the famous greek/roman myth character who is goddess of the hunt, but her image and story rarely overlap with the hunter characters seen in works that have this two+one combination. Moreover, the close emotional bond that the three tend to share in the stories–often portrayed with familial-nature (adopted siblings with no romantic interests)–seems to be a significant factor in the continued use of this trope. Continuing in our prior examples, Koto is searching for the black rabbit/her mother; Takamichi is hunting demons, and Alexandra is after monsters.

The twin sidekicks are always depicted as “protectors” or “guardians” to a female lead, often with her occupying an adopted sister role rather than existing as a love interest. They are portrayed as loyal, fierce, and powerful, with the ability to transform into large, intimidating dog-like creatures to defend their master. Overall, the dog servants are depicted as essential members of the hunting team and play a significant role in the story.

Of course, the influences behind Kyousougiga, Jiu Jiu, and Trese may have come from other supernatural comics and anime that have used similar tropes in the past. They may also have combined these cultural sources with their own stories to create a unique take. Regardless, it is an interesting trope to examine, and I continue to wonder about its specific origins.

I have an idea of a slasher au. I have a good idea of what a slasher au for Gepard. I am not as well versed with Jing yuan but I have a small idea of it. I also have a good idea of what a slasher au of Jing yuan and gepard would wear.

Gepard in a slasher au still be the captain. He kills people because of things he considered as evil. That is how he deludes himself into thinking it is the right thing to do. In a yandere au, he would consider threats to your relationship as the most evil thing in this world. In yandere or non yandere au, He will always has a target on Sampo. He covers up these murders by using his power as captain.

Jing yuan has a mask of a guardian lion. This symbolizes the fact he thinks of himself as a protector of his city. He thinks of killing people he thinks are evil. In a yandere au, the symbolism of the ball that male guardian lions hold would be the fact that he will give a gift. This gift will always have a smooth ball on it. Examples: earrings, necklace, charms and etc. Yan slasher Jing yuan considered this as a sign that this is his love. I also think he would be the type to want to have children with his love either adoption or actual baby making. This represents that female guardian lions have a cub under the paw.

Idk what to write about the other characters as I have no good idea on writing the girls or have any good pics for the rest of men.

[One Piece x Reader Series] We got a mommy on the ship

Part 1: Beloved Sister - Reader x Luffy

Whenever Luffy lost his memories or had them back, there was always an important place in his heart for the witch. Bothering (y/n) with hugs had been a habit, regardless of filling energy or simply the small captain just wanted to be in his sister's embrace.

(Y/n) was Luffy's adopted sister although she's more like a mother since she took him under her wings. The straw hat boy wasn't the type to think complicatedly, he spent his childhood time with her, enjoying her nurture and spoils. It's not an overstatement to say the witch knew him better than he knew himself. However, Luffy did not know much about (y/n) apart from anything she showed him. But she told him not to worry, just always be carefree and joyful as he already is. The straw hat boy had yet to disobey her when she gave him advice, he liked her because she would help him relax, played with him and made his favorite food. In Luffy's mind, (y/n) was a good person, very very good despite how many times she told him she was not.

It's hard to blame him, the witch had raised him since he was 6, more than the hard time he'd spent with Garp or the short time he lived with Ace and Sabo. (Y/n) also saved him many times because of the condition of his body aside from the fact that she was literally his guardian, it's her duty to keep him from danger.

Luffy loved the witch with all his mind and heart that it would be uncomfortable to keep distant from her - due to lack of energy or he just couldn't bear to be away from her.

Everytime (y/n) and Luffy appeared together, it was no surprise to see the rubber boy clung to the witch like a koala. No matter if she was in human form or black cat form, Luffy just loved hugging her although the cat form was smaller and easily handled, bonus fluffy.

(Y/n) disliked the sun, everybody knew that but Luffy always insisted on pulling her to sunbathe with him on the lion head of Sunny. The witch was unwilling but how could she say no to those bright cute puppy eyes, so she let him hug her waist and rested his head on her chest while both of them enjoyed the warmth of the big fire ball up in the sky. Out of sudden, Luffy blinked and stared at the witch, he smiled widely "Shishishi, I like (y/n) alot."

"I adore thee as well, kid." The witch couldn't help but smile, patting the captain's head.

"I like you this big!" Luffy spread both of his arms widely like he wanted to hug the sky.

"Then I adore thee this little." (Y/n) pointed at the position of her heart "Because thou art mi heart and it cannot compare to the sky."

Luffy's chest was knotted with happiness and pride, his familiar smile on the wanted poster appeared in his feature "You're cheating~ how can I reply to that?"

(Y/n) smirked, she brought her hands up to pinch both sides of Luffy's soft cheeks, gently pulled him close to her face "Then thou don't have to. Besides, I don't play fair, little one."

The sudden drop in her tone made it sound hoarse and attractive surprised Luffy. He was not prepared for that, now his face was all red like a tomato. He confusingly tried to get away from her claws on his cheeks for keeping him so close and caused his heart to beat so fast. (Y/n) snickered but decided not to tease the small captain anymore and let go of him. Then she transformed into her black cat self and jumped down from the lion head "See thee at lunch, little one."

With that the witch left, leaving a very embarrassed and intrigued Luffy who was rolling on his favorite spot of Sunny.

The straw hat boy knew (y/n) was a gentle, caring and funny sister. He also knew she was a fierce and strong fighter but never he saw this side of her, an attractive and dominant woman. A smirking and hoarse voice (y/n) was not healthy for Luffy's heart but he didn't seem to mind. If anything he was even more thrilled! He would like to be in her embrace for more experience!

Jungle Fury Random Headcanons and Ideas

@skyland2703 @augment-techs @mo-ok @junglefurytrash went a bit crazy with this one

-Casey is the youngest of five siblings, and is the only boy in the family. He knows how to do makeup and hair.

-Due to his upbringing everyone in the house expected him to be gay, he was kind of dreading having to tell his mother and sisters but they were pretty chill about it.

-His sisters are either quintuplets or triplets and two adopted sisters depending on what you want to go with.

-Despite being the blue ranger Theo didn't develop his animal spirit until after Luen gained his. His parents seem to expect more from him as they were students in a sub school associated with the Pai Zhua.

-Theo's won a Guinness World Record award for karaoke, he claims it's in his blood to be amazing at it.

-Lily grew up within a small apartment in the city, she enjoys all the different foods that a place has to offer. Anything that's new and changing, reminds her of home.

-There's a chance that she trained with Zack and had him as a partner as she did mentioned how she used to do competitive dance competitions.

-RJ's mother passed away when he was young and he kind of blames himself for it. Despite trying to make their relationship better Finn may have blamed him all those years ago for Mrs. James's passing, just a constant reminder of her not being here.

-RJ is amongst one of the only individuals(Like Antonio) to discover the Morphin Grid on his own and is the reason the Pai Zhua has it as access.

-Sometimes just to spite Finn RJ catches fish and attaches them around the shark master's house. That way his air conditioning can smell terrible.

-Dominic flunked out of college, he was studying to become a teacher in geography.

-Casey seems more ticked off with Dominic because of the idea that he might try to go for Jarrod or RJ.

-Jarrod enjoys being around animals as his parents weren’t really around, his mother didn’t really enjoy the prospect of having a boy and his dad would either yell all the time or get pissed off about farm work not doing well so Jarrod cuddling up with a fluffy sheep or even summoning his black lion spirit to sleep next to it’s mane would soothe him.

-Despite all the troubles within the school Master Mao kinda sees Jarrod as his own son(Any of you kingdom hearts fans, cough cough Eraqus and Terra).

-Camille’s hatred of snakes was due to her mother being killed by Naja 10,000 years ago, she’s unaware of this fact but disposing of the snake rinshi felt right when it happened in the show.

-Her eyeshadow is actually a trait of her animal spirits. Animal spirits have way more depth to them as they are the shadow of one’s self, in some cases specific traits about said spirit leak into the person like physical to mental details (example: Camille’s eyeshadow, RJ’s ferocity from his wolf spirit.)

-megazords formed by animal spirits were based on specific influences centuries ago, from totems, giant sculptures like sphinx and even Animus. Some can claim that the guardians of the Pai Zhua were the first people to create earthly megazords within human history.

-mystical beasts or fictional animal like creatures such as the phoenix, azure dragon etc are somewhat rare due to a very small percent of people born with one or those entities giving access to said person. Such as the Phantom Beasts who are based on specific creatures. If Nick or Chip were to come to Pai Zhua and develop a phoenix and Garuda spirit then they’d be a powerful force.

-rinzen and zocalo energy isn’t inherently bad energy but the power is mainly associated with rinshi, the rangers have the potential to access it and even gain phantom beast modes similar to Jarrod and Camille.

-Fran’s animal spirit can range either from a black cat, owl or monkey and gives her abilities based on inner luck or focus making her quite powerful.

-Lily basically adopted Casey as her own little brother.

-Secretly Jarrod wants to pursue cooking or something based in creativity. He didn't touch a kitchen utensil for weeks after seeing kitchen nightmares and it took RJ having to throw the tapes out to get him back into cooking.

-Master Swoop can actually split himself into bat's and has the little shadows spying around the world for any threats. Its kind of creepy but very effective as he can easily have the bat's acting as kamikaze strikers to defeat monsters. Rangers on other teams don't know how threats get taken down but they don't mind, less work load.

-the Pai Zhua has more schools within the world that differentiate in some fighting styles and such. Some schools like the ninja academies try to pick up on their skills but a few of the campuses keep secret.

-Zordon tried to learn about the teachings thousands of years ago as their abilities mixing with the grid gave way for a spike in power with combat but they shunned the wizard away cause of being weary about his motives. Ninjor was welcomed in open arms via the power coins he had. This also explains why Jungle Fury was so scarce with the other teams up until megaforce.

-despite everything the Pai Zhua is nowhere near as moral as they tried to portray themsleves as. Some people can be very toxic in a few areas, Dai Shi had possessed people in the past and with each attempt they tried to have the individuals go mad and die from the experience as a way to rid themselves of the dragon. Casey and the rangers dismantled this ideology after killing the Dai Shi.

-because of her potential the academy sent scouts to try and push Fran to join the academy but RJ quickly shut that down and actually threatened a few of the higher officials because of this.

-Animal spirits talk amongst themselves when the team isn't around. Some play poker when everyone's asleep.

-because of being spirit and mythical based the JF team can handle most of the recurring threats of Zedd and Rita. Plus with their megazords not being mechanical they aren't easily disposed of.

-RJ secretly made JKP into a megazord incase there's an emergency, he met Antonio and added a shitload of symbol power and animal spirit energy to make it a powerful force.

-Lily loves a lot of 80s-90s music and loves to dress in a semi style of Y2K.

-Having no knowledge of Pokemon, Camille and Casey were sat down by Theo and Fran until they were introduced to Gen 4. Camille hacked her Platinum cartridge to get all the mythical and legendary mon events.

-RJ smokes blunts mainly to calm himself, it started as a way to escape the thought of his mother being goin and his father's disapproval.

-Tommy and Jason aren't allowed in Ocean Bluff when it comes to ranger activity because RJ's access to the grid could be useful but he likes to gatekeep and personally team wise if anything happens both him and the group wouldn't enjoy veteran rangers from the first modern team(unless it's billy) coming in and taking over operations.

-Camile and Jarrod jump monsters whenever a mission happens, forget talking, get the job done when needed.

-Casey was fired from the zoo for sleeping in the tiger cage and released all the animals into nice reservations after he was let go.

-Lily was made team leader as Casey doesn't feel too well with getting the role just for being a red ranger.

-Theo is a master at coming up with combo attacks and megazord concepts to the point that rangers like Chip and Max come to him for guidance. He's got quite the reputation in the ranger community for his witty ideas.

-Casey is on a red ranger watch list due to his sword skills, despite keeping their word Jason may have came to the city to demand some aid with their grid research and the two got into a brawl with Casey winning. Him, Jayden and Lauren are all at the top five of said list.

-RJ has dated lots of people but it usually never ends on a perfect note as they were usually relationships with people who took emotional advantage over him. Though he's in a better place within his life to try again with Casey or anyone who actually values him.

-Jarrod listens to a lot of punk music and back at the school Mao got complaints about speakers Blaring music at two in the morning.

-Cam hangs with RJ and shares ideas but he isn't allowed to tell Tommy about any of their conversations. The two may have had a thing in the past.

-Wolf rangers tend to have a powerful aura and they each meet together to talk about business, RJ has a bone themed secret landline he uses to contact them.( @sentinelofstories wolf war 👀😭)

-Due to Dai Shi the JF teams has a disdain for dragons, Serpentera count your days if you ever come back.

-Camille's rinshi form is just armor but was never accepted fully as a rinshi, she only became one to seem worthy in Dai Shi's eyes. The phantom beast hated her for many things and this was one of the reasons, thousands of years ago she murdered three previous members for nearly trying to assassinate her.

-Princess Shayla and the Wild Force rangers are on good terms with the JF team. Merrick follows RJ around like a lost puppy, Taylor spites Theo for being short, Lily tried to get Danny out of his shell. Max tries to explain modern day concepts to Camille, Alyssa and Dominic do small talk and Cole is given death glares from RJ or Jarrod because Casey has caught eyes for him.

-Casey is Gay, Lily is Bi, Theo is a straight ally, Camille and Jarrod are angry bisexuals, RJ is pan, Fran and Dom are unsure of what they are.

-It is unknown if dinosaurs can become animal spirits but Eric actively seeks out Casey to test this theory.

-Casey's favorite red ranger is TJ.

Dillon and Jarrod pretty much had a staring contest with each other, RJ and Flynn got high for the most part, Scott kept crying tears of joy when Casey took him to see their world since it isn't destroyed, Theo wanted to throw himself out the window from hanging with Ziggy, Summer took Lily shopping and Camille was this close to murdering the twins but actually found herself warming up to them, she even went on a date with Gemma.

-Billy is on thin ice for trying to bring Zordon back and while RJ likes the dude he'd prefer that the giant head wouldn’t butt in on all of their affairs.

Zuko and Mai had 5 kids and here is how (and a shortish explanation of who they are)

Yijun

An Orphan from Republic City, who stole food from Zuko. Zuko after finding out he was an orphan, brought him home, thinking ‘yea just til we can find him a good home’ and then after Izumi was born, he and Mai realized, ‘oh shit, Yijun’s our son!’ and then adopted him a day later. ‘Cause the Fire Nation was still recovering from a 100 years of racist propaganda so he wasn’t able to become Firelord, which he was fine with, he ended up as an ambassador to the earth kingdom, he had three kids with his wife, who absolutely flipped her shit when she found out her then boyfriend was the SON of the FIRELORD! He’s an earthbender.

Izumi

We all know Izumi, the Firelord, she was the kid planned for by Zuko and Mai, they thought they were only going to have one kid, bcs of their mutual trauma with siblings and shit. However they didn’t realize that Yijun was already their son when they had her, besides Yijun couldn’t inherit.

Pema

(not Tenzin’s wife, a different Pema)

After they adopted Yijun they started up an adoption system in the fire nation (a nationalized one that is), when they went to visit one in Caldera City, Pema jumped off a banister and landed on ZUKO’S HEAD, which made Mai laugh. Instead of getting in trouble she became a princess. Pema became a fire sage, (not all fire sages are benders in my book) she is a non-bender.

Lu-Ten II

Yijun and Izumi (they hadn’t adopted Pema yet), got along which assuage their fears about sibling rivalry, and them neglecting one of their kids, because they didn’t, so they decided to have another kid. Lu-Ten II was born a non-bender but after an incident with a set of spirits he gained the ability to bend air and earth, this also made him not die at ten (he was born sickly :(( ). He trained Korra in earthbending. Also he is wheelchair bound for the most part.

Azura

While they were only planning on having one more kid, surprise! Lu-Ten was a twin. Azura was born a fire bender and completely healthy. She had overheard that her best friend (Lu-Ten II) was dying, freaked out and ran away, so Lu followed her, where they ended up meeting twin spirits, who chose them to be their new ‘people.’ They had once been the guardians of an ancient, pre-lion turtle exodus, society, having taught humans who had survived by fusing their souls with lesser spirits, how to bend opposite elements. One spirit, the one that had chosen Azura, taught how to fire and water bend, the other who chose Lu-Ten II, controlled air and earth. Azura taught Korra how to firebend. Also her name is a fusion of Azula and Ursa. She one of the six most important girls in his life, was named after two of the other most important women in his life.

Hey guys. No art today, but I’m here to talk about an idea for a Sonic Reboot that I conceptualized.

It was originally titled Sonic Neoverse. This was made to, well, fix many of the problems plaguing the franchise. I had this 2 years before Sonic Frontiers came out/announced. Most of the events and characters were lifted from the games, and comics, but with a few major adjustments. Keep in mind that this topic will be in two parts. In Part 1 I will be discussing about the characters in the reboot, and then I will talk about the world and setting in Part 2.

Let’s start with the face of the entire franchise, Sonic the Hedgehog!

Sonic’s personality would be a mix between Adventure, Toon, and a bit of modern.He Would have his family back. It is composed of Aleena, Manic, and Sonia from underground. Because he had two separate moms, I did some alterations and made Bernie the hedgehog Aleena’s daughter.

After his parents disappeared, the Oracle of Delphius sent the triplets to their respective adoptive parents. Sonic’s caretaker would be Longclaw much like in her movie incarnation.

Knuckles may at times not be the guardian of the Master Emerald because……. The Echidnas from Archie would be present in the neoverse; therefore, Knuckles is no longer the last of his kind. Locke, Knuckles’s Father will be the one to look after the Master emerald.

Amy Rose would be drastically different in Neoverse. I turn Amy Rose into a tomboy in this version. I also had her like a female counterpart to Sonic similar to how Batgirl is a female counterpart to Batman. Changing her would mean getting rid of her Piko Piko hammer. I have to come up with many alternative weaponry for this new version of Amy from dual blades to axel’s disc weapons from Kingdom Hearts. The latter that I kind of gone with to coincide with her ‘surname’.

Silver the Hedgehog would be a lot smarter and wiser in Neoverse unlike his original incarnation (‘A well thought out strategy’).

Shadow the Hedgehog would be the same as he was in Sonic Adventure 2 but he’ll later have a personality like Jak from Jak and Daxter.

E-102 Gamma? Well, I’ve had him rebuilt by Rotor and teamed with the Freedom Fighters along with Big the Cat and Amy. It was to match the main cast of Sonic Adventure DX. and since Cream was part of the Freedom Fighters in Archie, Team Rose had been merged with it.

The freedom fighters would return in the neoverse having a massive role during eggman’s invasion of Mobius. Most of the characters like Tangle from IDW, Tekno from Fleetway, and scrapped characters like Tiara Boobowski would be brought back in Neoverse. Talking about an all-star franchise….. that would never be realized as the Sonic Franchise is as good as it is. 😔😔😔😔😔

Every original Sonic media had to have some new things right? Well the secret is that the entire Sonic Neoverse all started with remaking Sonic 06. By that, I mean the one character everyone seemed to dislike, Princess Elise.

What I did with Elise was that she was going to be much more serious and warrior-like than her original self (In a natural way). Unlike her original counterpart, She has a deep hatred for the humans/overlanders especially when Eggman attacked her kingdom. Elise in Neoverse is now a Mobian Sphinx, a mythical lion with wings and can shoot energy blasts. She’s also physically strong given that her lion race were warriors. I will discuss more of Neoverse Elise’s history for part 2.

With the heroes said and done. Time to talk about the villains of the neoverse starting with Dr. Eggman

In Neoverse, Dr. Eggman was formerly a GUN member when he fell into his own Retro-Orbital Chaos Compressor. It corrupted his mind making him hostile toward the Mobians, and during the Overlander war, he joined the opposing faction. When the war was over. He overthrew King Acorn and launched the attack on Mobius. At one point he retired from his quest and hid for 2 years. After he decided to get back on his quest again after learning that the creature (Chaos) was a powerful creature.

All of his henchmen from Metal Sonic to Dingo would be in the Neoverse.

Time for some other villains beside Eggman himself.

Starting with Zavok. Instead of being, well, generic, I’ve turned him into a massive manchild who would fly into fits of rage when he doesn’t get his way.

I saw the Zeti or the deadly six as Bowser Koopalings knockoffs, so I did some adjustments to make them standout. The Zeti would be more reptilian with a primitive, cavemen-like personality.

Mephiles and Iblis would return and both would fuse into Solaris like in the original instead Solaris would be along the lines of Darksied from DC.

Ifrit from Sonic Rivals would join a reborn Mephiles’s team. The two along with Iblis would become a more powerful Solaris.

Remember Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric? Remember its antagonist, Lyric the Last Ancient? Well, I’ve made him a member of the order of Ixis, a group led by Ixis Naugus. He specializes in necromancy. When he was accidentally revived by Eggman, he used parts of the doctor’s aiding Egg Pawns to create a temporary body similar to his original counterpart.

Now for everyone’s hated villain, Infinite the Jackal. Rather than a generic shadow wannabe, He would have been a disgruntled scientist from Soleanna. ‘wrongfully’ rejected by Elise (due to his poor research). Infinite would later join Eggman in his effort to overthrow Elise.

Emperor Metallix would return in a saga based on the Metal Virus arc. About that along with the Zombots? Stay tuned for part 2.

Mammoth Mogul would also return along with Ixis Naugus, who would have ties to only Sonic’s missing parents but also the Phantom Ruby from Sonic Mania………..

Some people were unaware that in the Archie reboot era, Dr. Eggman had Egg Bosses, a group of robotic used Mobians who controlled each of Sonic’s world’s regions. These guys would now work for Mammoth Mogul rather than Eggman. Like their original incarnations, they are assigned to the regions of Mobius for global domination. Some members like Nephthys the Vulture and Thunderbolt the Chinchilla would be excluded from the group.

Nephthys would be among the heroes along with being the leader of the Midesta Freedom Fighters (AKA The Desert Raiders From Archie). I based Thunderbolt off of a particular Sonic fan who wants to ‘merge dimensions’…….

Great Battle Kukku/Battle Lord Kukku would be a greedy corporate boss who tried to deforest Coco island so he could build an amusement park. He would do the same to the Babylon Gardens.

Lord Mordred Hood from Archie would become Amy Rose’s worst enemy. Why? We shall find out in part 2.

Now lastly the final two villainous groups. That is The Nocturnus Clan, and the Dark Legion from Archie.

That one point, because of the similarities these two had, I decided to mix the two together, that means Imperator Ix may be Dimitri’s ancestor. Dimitri himself would be Enerjak like his Archie Counterpart. Kragok would be the legion’s leader and Dr. Finitevus would return as a member of the clan.

Most of the characters I’ve reimagined seemed to be a lot better than we think though the other half remained the same as they were. I have intentionally left out major details of the Neoverse characters like Ixis Naugus. These will all be explained in part two.

Snippet Tag!

This is a sneak peek at Chapter 8 of Neon Moon. Writing this section was something I went back and forth on, because unlike most of what I write: I've introduced some characters that are directly from my life. See if you can guess who. (It's not hard.)

An enormous dog stood amid the grazing cattle, occasionally looking around but ignoring the horses and their humans. "Wait! Whose dog is that?" Sirius was pretty sure he'd never seen that one before. The ones he'd seen were small, sleek things: fast and agile. The dog there was big: tall and broad, with thick sable fur, a mane-like ruff, and a tail that curled over his back. "Oh him?" Remus smiled. "That's Carrot. He's one of ours. But he's a livestock guardian so he doesn't really do the house dog life like this pampered girl," he explained with a nod at Marea, still balanced comfortably on the rolled up blanket behind Az's saddle. "Guardian? What's he guarding against?" Mary asked, looking around for any apparent danger. "Bears?" "Well, yeah, actually." "Wait, what-" "Let him finish, Mary!" Lily chided. Remus just shrugged. "There are bears and mountain lions and cougars out here, plus some coyotes and there's been some wolf sightings lately. Haven't seen any myself and they're mainly up in Tahoe, but urban sprawl has 'em coming down this way more and more." Sirius looked back out at the dog, who finally looked at them, and when he locked eyes with Remus, he wagged his tail and slowly ambled up to their little band. "Can I pet him?" Remus laughed. "He's prob'ly gross as hell, but have at it. He doesn't do any tricks, though. When he's not havin' to make his own decisions out here, he gives all his braincells to his brother Vimes, who should be around here- ah. There he is." Sirius turned to Flo's squeal, where a slightly smaller dog the same color as Carrot was nosing around at her horse's side bag, where Sirius knew the oat cakes were kept. "Ay, gordo, basta ya!" Remus scolded. The other dog—Vimes—took several steps back, his ears splayed out to the side, and ambled away with one final longing look at the bag. "Sorry 'bout him. He's a fatass. …Affectionately, I guess." Remus rolled his eyes, but hopped off of Az to give both dogs a scratch behind the ears when they came back up to him. Vimes didn't seem to want anything to do with them now that treats were off the table, but Carrot's tail gave a slow, lazy wag as he submitted to Sirius's petting. His head was soft and a little droopy—from a copperhead snake bite, Remus said—and he was pretty manky, but Sirius wiped the dog grime off on his jeans in a very brave show of manliness.

Carrot & Vimes were the first dogs my now-husband and I adopted as a couple together, back in 2013. We went in with the intention to adopt ONLY Carrot (then called Pecan) but when we saw him running around with his littermate Vimes (then called Mesquite), and ignoring their 4 sisters, we couldn't say no. It was a dumb idea because lol littermate syndrome and lol college schedules, but we loved the hell out of these dogs.

Before we'd gotten them, Carrot had been bitten TWICE by a copperhead in the face (didn't learn the first time I guess), they'd had sarcoptic mange, and had been skunked twice and put under two rabies quarantines. Carrot's face was always a little droopy.

He was my heart dog. Stupid as fuck, good god...not an intelligent thought in there, but he was a loving, protective, wall of a dog at 110 pounds and nearly 3 feet at the shoulder. A DNA test said they were Great Pyrenees, Newfoundland, White Swiss Shepherd, and a whole lotta "we dunno, mixed breed", and Carrot looked just like a Pyr who had been dipped in some German Shepherd paint.

He passed away last August, right around the time I was writing Chapter 1 of Neon Moon. He was nearly 10, so definitely a senior citizen for a giant breed, and I still miss the hell out of him. Vimes is still alive and kickin', diabetes and blindness be damned, lol.

It feels apt to say that those who love us never really leave us, and I hope that by sharing a little bit of this dog with y'all, he can continue to be remembered in the hearts of my readers.

Info: when Madoka was a child her human parents left her in the streets alone....so one day she playing with human kids one of which made fun of Madoka's appearance of being a "purple demon monster" then she snapped unleashing full of rage. taking down the village that's when....Monkey King came in and put a moon seal on her cheek to make make her stop losing control once again she felt empty nobody to love her...Wukong taking care of her as his own daughter starts training her how to control her powers thanks to Wu Kong's help she went out into the world until she met Macaque he teach Madoka how to use her anger and darkness to use a against other people that are her enemies or foes she went with Macaque to fulfil a mission but Monkey King and MK beat them to it...she was shocked even both of her mentors we're shocked to of that Madoka had both mentors and was jealous of MK of him being like a son to Wukong but doesn't really bother say anything to him....

Its time for Wolfy Headcanons! (aka Darling Headcanons!)

First Headcanon, (slightly inspired by Darling baking with Neo and slightly connected to my Headcanon about how Sweets likes to bake... but..) I totally imagine Darling learned how to bake from both their parents and Sweets (and like Sweets, Darling definitely bakes when stressed...)

Second Headcanon, (another baking one that is also connected to one of my Sweets headcanons... but..) if Sweets ever accomplishes their dream of owning a bakery, I can totally see Darling helping out as a Baker (maybe just Part time though...)

Third Headcanon, (slightly inspired by what we know about Neo's family and slightly inspired by wolf packs... but..) I like to imagine Darling grew up with a big family... (maybe a middle child... which is why they doesn't mind people like Bug seeing them as a older sibling...)

Fourth Headcanon, (this one just popped into my mind... but..) I like to imagine that Darling has ear piercings on their wolf ears... (maybe a nose ring too...)

Fifth Headcanon, I totally imagine Darling's favorite animal is a lion.. (if they could, they would have one as a pet... but for now they must settle for a lion plushie...)

Sixth Headcanon, (another one my brain just came up with... but..) I imagine Darling actually has two adopted dads.. (i imagine Darling's biological mother had given them up not because she didn't love them but because she wasn't ready for kids at the time... Darling's biological mother is actually quite close with them nowadays (its a mystery who Darling's biological father is though... also I like to imagine that Darling has two little half siblings because Darling's biological mother had some children with her current husband...)

Seventh Headcanon, (technically also a Gage,Bug and Neo Headcanon... but..) I totally imagine the four of them have taken camping/hiking trips together (I also imagine Sweets and Law coming along on the trips as everyone's guardians/parents... I mean someone has to keep a eye on "kids" (they may not be actual kids but they sure act like children sometimes...)

Eighth Headcanon, I like to imagine Darling definitely had tomboyish phase in high school (and a lot of the other kids were afraid of Darling despite Darling being actually quite nice... actually I don't think Darling ever fully grew out of their tomboyish phase...)

Ninth Headcanon, (you know how I had the Headcanon that Bug sees Darling somewhat as a older sibling?... well..) I totally imagine when Darling takes that role a little too seriously... (I just imagine Darling asking Gage questions like "So what are your intentions with my sibling?.." and Darling always asks Bug questions like "Is he treating you well?.." despite the fact Gage and Bug have been dating longer than how long Darling has known bug...)

Tenth Headcanon, (slightly more funny one... but..) I like to imagine Darling is allergic to cats... and just generally doesn't like them much... (it's funny because wolves are like dogs and dogs "supposedly" are enemies with cats...)

Bonus Headcanon, (slightly also a law headcanon/connected to one of my law headcanons... but..) I like to imagine Darling has both a electric guitar and a regular guitar but because they're better with a electric guitar, Darling has asked Law to show them how to get better at playing a regular guitar (and now they have guitar lessons with Law occasionally when both have the time... man Law and Sweets really are like the parents of everyone.... i see why Law and Sweets are such a perfect match now...)

while my dracionity turned out different in the end, this was still an important post for me to write!

when I see my draconic self in my mind’s eye, or become more aware of my phantom parts (because they're always present to a degree), there’s a consistent, distinct shape.

- a long-ish mammalian muzzle, full of sharp teeth & fangs. also has a feline- or mustelidae-like nose-pad. (“padded nose”? idk the exact term for these types of critter snoots.) - brown fur of short-to-medium length. - unsure if i have scales or protective plating anywhere? might have some on the lower sections of my legs. - body is pine-marten-y in shape & length. - tail is also quite long. sleek, thick-ish, and is capable of corkscrewing around itself at least once. tapers off into a (albeit large) lion-like “tuft” at the end; like a traditional unicorn’s tail. (may be longer, and i’m just experiencing a length that’s relative to my human body???) - paws with five digits, paw-pads, & claws. unsure if said claws are retractable at all. overall very marten-esk. - ears are always in a “back facing” position, which seems to be their natural/neutral positioning. ears are large, almost fennec-like, and fuzzy inside & out like a donkey’s. - set of small nub-horns, teal in color, positioned like a goat’s or deer’s. - one of the closest placement matches i’ve seen are Trico’s (beast from The Last Guardian), but mine grow the opposite direction (i.e, toward my back).

- i do not have wings, and notably feel like i’d be incapable of (natural/non-magical) flight.

- i believe my species lived in, or at least frequented, a temperate forest environment of sorts. and/or potentially somewhere that feels like a mix of Alaska & California's wilderness? it's a jumble of fuzzy noemata that i'm still sorting through.

all this got me wondering; is there any example of this sort of dragon in wider media? in any known mythos or folklore? thus far, the closest examples i've found in these sources are Chinese & Japanese Dragons, such as the character of Haku from Spirited Away; but these aren't exacts. when i look up images & read about them in mythology texts (historical & fictional alike), i always think to myself "Kind of close, but... not it."

one fictional type i've found that sort of matches me is Imperial dragons, from Flight Rising.

however, many details just don't ring as "me." i lack wings, those prominent whiskers, full scales, or any kind of beard, my horns are much, much shorter, i could go on. bottom line, i'm not an Imperial dragon. so, i'm left with the same feeling: "Close, but nowhere near exact."

the absolute closest body-type/shape i’ve found (outside of drawing something myself) is from various original characters. there's a consistent handful of design tropes that make these characters distinctly this type of "fuzzy noodle dragon" — like a mosh-pit mix of almost "off-brand" depictions of eastern dragons. if you're in character/adoptable design circles, you may know what i'm talking about. you may even own a character like this, or be in the same boat as me.

i did briefly consider the idea i might be OC-kin, but... similarly to historical depictions & Imperial dragons, these designs feel like they’re just that; designs. not part of my identity.

"Close. Nothing more."

even this fursona/character concept i whipped up a few years ago, which has pretty much every visual aspect i described, doesn’t feel like me. that character still feels like just a for-fun-mascot or character; not a self-portrait, idealized or true-to-form.

which brings me to a label i've been ruminating over: Folcinteric (Nonhumanity).

i feel @who-is-page’s label of folcintera might really fit me, especially with the specific type of dragon i’ve described here. problem is, (and this is most likely just the imposter syndrome talking) i'm not even sure i have any mythos to begin with.

well. maybe i do. in a slightly more abstract sense.

as i said, this kind of design is not that uncommon; i'd even dare to say it's popular. popular enough that a lot of people will understand and have a fairly distinct image in their mind when you say “furry noodle dragon.” (i'm extremely curious about the origins of this design trend, and who might've kicked it off, or if this concept is a conclusion that multiple artists came to when making a lung dragon inspired design.)

so, perhaps my larger “mythology” — to potentially stretch the definition a bit — is from a subset of the dragon art & character design communities. something in me says that could count as a "lived mythology" of sorts.

and, i am still a type of dragon, one that varies in imagery/details and person-to-person lore, at the end of the day. one that is also very tied to my own personal understanding of "dragon."

dragons, in the larger scope of folklore, are typically an allegory for the wealthy, or the concept of "evil," or are simply more "neutral" symbols of power, wisdom, strength, and/or magic.

dragons were never something i feared / saw as universally "villainous," or even as strictly symbolic of any of the previously listed symbolism. my first exposure to dragons was within the Eragon/Inheritance Cycle series. due to the dragon and rider bond i saw there, "dragon" was cemented in my brain as a companion; protector, friend, but also animal. a fearsome one, yes, but not cruel or "evil by nature." not greedy, just naturally curious and drawn to "shiny" objects in the way any corvid is. sapient as any human or humanoid folk, but still as much of a beast as any wolf or bear.

publicly, i'll most likely just say "I'm a [species of] dragon," and leave it at that. the details of my identity are for me alone, and thus any further explanations or descriptions will be given voluntarily.

but even the things i keep private, i like to put names to. this is one such thing!

"theriomythic" felt somewhat like a hasty choice, though i don't mean that as a bad thing, at least for me. a bit of "my experiences fit here [within the therian label], but the species and my understanding of it doesn't [fit the definition of "only" earthen/nonfictional animals]... so i'll go with something that's close enough."

i do quite like the terms "draconity" & "dragonkind," since they're both very all-encompassing; but... i'm not sure how to articulate how that also feels like the problem (though i use the term loosely) that my brain has with them. "dragonkind," from my understanding, is more-so a label for the community itself rather than the individual. (it can be for personal use, i.e "I am dragonkind," but i don't know if it's widely used as such.) and "draconity" doesn't... quite ring the way i feel it should. it feels more like a general descriptor to preface my experiences and identity.

i could come up with my own term(s), and who knows, i might end up doing so. but at the same time, i don't want to reinvent where i don't need to. to me, the idea currently feels like calling that particular shade of lavender purple by another name, just because i can.

so maybe my flavor of dragon does fit the definitions for being folcintera. the term is supposed to be pretty much limitless within "lived mythos."

all that to say, i'm going to be trying out folcintera for myself. worst that happens is it doesn't end up fitting lol if that becomes the case, i'll find or make something new~
