drag race: boys edition
we had gender bent edits, we had paralell universes, and i'm not sure if someone has done this, but in case it hasn't, here it is. did i need to do this? yes, yes i did. enjoy!
[listen, i saw a video from runner eye and if i can't stop thinking about it, you have to be the ones to be punished by it, i don't make the rules.]
roberta mckenzie. a comedy queen from glasgow. she loves the audience, mostly working up the patreons in hopes to find a gold mine of weird info dump, enough to make the rest of the bar laugh. is the makeup rough? yes, very much so. is the material roast winning? not exactly... but she's new to the game and is trying her best. plus, her outfits pay homage to jamaican patterns every chance she has and most of us enchanted by the charisma and bad puns.
rhonda. one-name-only for a one-personality-only and that is... snake! she's the one pretending to be zen and "i don't do drama" but has the most snake rattle sound effects during her confessionals. she also tries to steal henrietta hotts from luna kohko, and the audience saw it from A MILE AWAY. unsuccessfully of course... HAVE YOU SEEN LUNA? she's the trade of the season.
kassandra. she dj's on the weekends all mounted in silver gowns and small boobie bibs (as she calls them despite being annoyed other people refer to them as that). kassandra has issues with everyone that ISN'T doing recreational drugs at her gigs and call them "stiffs" for it. however, despite looking and sounding harsh... well, that's about it. there's a reason she and luna get along so well!
glitter renell. "a traditional drag queen" according to herself, and to new queens it only means "my uncle in a wig with a rough and patchy makeup work and plastic-ey wigs". the only queen not wearing "fantasy" by britney but who's noticing?? her special number involves ripping off the sleeves of her outfits and revealing MASSIVE biceps, but often times they pop off on their own. got the magic mike title of the season.
ingrid. she's a "sporty type of queen", has multiple tricks with golf clubs, and despite having a couple of head hitting tricks in her history, she tries her best. it sometimes can serve her as a pole to drop to the ground in a split and honestly? work. ingrid is considered one of the hottest and cutest since her shyness brings a different glow to her eyes, which are LOST in pink glitter and magical rainbow shaped makeup. she dares and we love it, leave her alone.
luna kohko. this is a SEASONED queen, alright? makeup on point, fashion in place, attitude to donate, and walking the runway like she built that shit. however, when it comes to friendships in the werk room... don't speak, don't come near, don't come around... in fact, don't come at all. luna doesn't waste time with phony queens and prefers things exactly the opposite of her: straight. she's a lesbian, which means she loves dating drag queens, and since entering the show she has a LIVE AND THRIVE romance with the innocent henrietta hotts. "if that crusty fucking hippie so much as breathes the same air as henrietta again, we're gonna have a fucking problem, yeah? i've seen her lurking the machines trying to strike up a conversation about climbing. there's only one building henrietta is gonna climb and it's not a limp one."
noelle waves. "we have a wall of fabric in that werk room and you continue to come out in swim suits. STOP - RELYING - ON - THAT - BODY". she's a bit reserved most of the time, but if the "girls are fighting", she's the first to step up and play MOTHER. the public likes her, but she's not exactly winning challenges. "safe" defines noelle better than "creative" or "winner", but she tries and helps everyone during challenges.
henrietta hotts. THIS GIRL HAS IT, OK? her signature look is the red lipstick and the blonde wig, and with those beautiful freckles, her persona is very much the girl next door. it makes the judges go "i feel like i haven't met henrietta yet, and i know there's someone in there that needs to... ROAR. also, baby... you need more makeup." is she the smartest? no. is she the most problem-solving? no. is she the most graceful? YOU BET HER ASS COVERED IN GLITTER SHE FUCKING IS.
graham cracker. ANOTHER UNCLE IN A WIG. barely knows how to walk in heels and is giving kim chi vibes. however, because of her leadership skills (which are not comparable to noelle's) she does manage to maintain her position for a while since most of the girls are lowkey scared of her. she's unpredictable and most of the contestants suspect she's straight.
carlota miranda. THIS IS THE MOST EXTROVERTED QUEEN ON THE RUNWAY, however, the boom mic needs to enter her throat to pick up what she's saying due to her bashfulness. not a fighter type but if someone comes for her???? she'll definitely... apologize for it. "fuck, don't fight" is her motto, followed by a timid little giggle since she tries not to curse. her style is "executive realness" but covered in crystals and diamonds. "it's either a mugler or nothing, babes. i don't have time to look like cel. sanders..."
felicia butterfly. annoying as alyssa edwards and untalented as... well, [REDACTED WINNER OF SEASON 4]. she's a one trick poney and the trick is... well, the public and the production are still trying to find it but in the mean time she becomes the bud of the joke. it's kind of entertaining watching her trying to understand anything in the werk room. it gets old but... she leaves pretty soon, so no problem there.
doge style. always wearing dogs' styles on her wigs, it's her signature. the poodle poof is AMAZING. she also becomes friends with everybody, particularly with the nervous ones, like carlota and henrietta since doge's hugs are infallible to relax the girls in situations of stress. she sometimes lets a facial hair look take over if the look calls for it, while the others are afraid of embracing it. "i'm not a woman impersonator, i'm just creative, get over it!" she has a HUGE CRUSH ON ELLA FAME, and it's reciprocated. rumour has it they fucked on the first week and are already planning a getaway.
ella fame. the most exquisite wigs in the werk room NO QUESTIONS ASKED. has beef with gigi goode for the title of best hair styles, but since her house is older and richer, she thinks she has a better chance to win this one pool on twitter. overall, ella has a walk to kill for, one that graham cracker has been trying to learn since day one. "i got it from naomi... you either know it... or you dont." she tells and retells the time she walked the same runway as naomi, even though everyone keeps reminding her that it happened as elijah, not as ella, but as she says in the confessional: "these bitches are so fucking jealous they're causing me intern wrinkles.".
jacoba zabinski. she's not very creative, doesn't have an interesting name, doesn't know how to walk differently than a constipated bear and doesn't know how to wear a wig. to be fair, she's only in the show to get clout for her male persona, jakub. bodybuilding is not paying off since his scandals in multiple gyms for his part time job as an instructor. so instagram shit tea and self taner brands have been the bread winning besides being the biggest bitch in the room. she enters the porkchop hall of fame. OBVIOUSLY.

since im the designated riverdale mutual:
season 6 is about the paralell universe of rivervale and jughead and some others are aware of it (because jugheads double was killed and theres two reggies now) but it all began with a big bang, when a bomb placed under archies bed where him and betty laid in RIVERDALE blew up, that caused the dimension. some very interesting things never happened like toni and cheryl never broke up, jason blossom never died, hiram lodge was never a big bad villain because he died to cancer before veronicas 15th. i reallt dont know where theyre going with this to be honest but i know the realities have been shifting since season 5 with the whole cheryl witchlike powers thing . i know eventually theres going to be a breaking point in the timeline when everything comes to a head and i assume when they all get respawned in the 1950s with a whole new plotline and then jughead becomes aware of the issue as usual

Babe, I got you babe, I got you babe
I got you to hold my hand, I got you to understand I got you to walk with me, I got you to talk with me I got you to kiss goodnight, I got you to hold me tight I got you, I won't let go, I got you to love me so I got you babe

Thinking about gwen and miles as students and mentees and how different they are story wise and experience wise and yet the PARALELLS!! Specifically with their mentors!! Specifically Jess and Peter b.
Into the spiderverse very heavily emphasizes the mentor/mentee relationship between Peter b and miles. Peter b being a reluctant and seemingly-incompetent mentor who’s kind of lost in the world? And yet is exactly what miles needs and is just ! So ! Earnest!! he’s so scared of committment and yet he is everything miles needs. Thinking about gwen seeing this relationship and how it changes miles and Peter for the better.
Thinking about gwen and Jess.. The way where miles always has a choice and his story is about choice gwen doesn’t. She doesn’t choose her mentor in the same way. Miles has to beg Peter to teach him because he’s like that!! And the kind of parallel between jess having to convince Miguel. Because even though jess is her mentor
Peter b doesn’t want to be a mentor and yet he cares so deeply about miles. He had everything to gain because he was at rock bottom and miles inspired him. He didn’t want a mentee but he needed miles.
Jess wants to mentor gwen so badly. She wants to help her but she has everything to lose from doing so. she takes a risk mentoring gwen and she’s scared it could ruin everything but she wants so badly to help this kid.
Idk if any of this makes sense but just like.
The way when we meet Peter b he has nothing. He’s the one lost in the world despite being older and knowing more he’s still very markedly lost. In Miles’s universe and his own life. Miles gives him a reason to commit. Miles makes him want a son but Peter doesn’t necessarily look at miles and see a father figure (no offense Peter b lol)Miles doesn’t ever feel intimidated by Peter because he’s just Peter! There relationship starts on such even footing and develops so much throughout the film.
And when we meet Jess she seems so sure. So on the right track in life. She’s pregnant, shes sure of herself and her standing and seemingly knows what she needs to do. Gwen looks at her and sees what she’s not. I mean the “will you be my mom” line. Gwen sees her as both a parent and authority figure from the getgo. There’s a very distinct power dynamic between them that is immediately clear. Gwen is looking for a parent and something to hold onto. Jess is scared having a mentee could cause her to lose everything.
For Peter b miles represents something to gain and lose at the same time. He already feels like he has nothing to lose in life, even when he’s not sure what to. At the end miles represents peters chances in life to do better and be sure of something for once. Miles represents everything that can go right for Peter. They both push each other to become better versions of themselves.
For Jess Gwen represents her fears (for lack of better phrasing). Just saving gwen from her own universe is a risk to her. Gwen represents something to lose for jess. Jesses superior is Miguel who’s already lost everything. Jess is scared to lose everything she has. And in that sense Jess kind of holds gwen back. she’s her mentor and she feels sure she’s doing the right thing but she’s also scared. And that’s part of what makes Jess finally giving in and letting gwen go at the end of atsv so powerful.
It really parallels us seeing peter knock the door. Seeing him come back in the new movie with mayday. Because that was his leap of faith. That’s what being a mentor to peter meant for him and his story.
Her letting gwen go? That’s her leap of faith and she just has to trust that it will land. That’s part of what makes that scene so satisfying and yet kind of terrifying.
When Peter knocks on that door you never question if things will go right for him. When miles jumps despite everything you are still sure it’s the correct choice but your still a little scared. You just have to trust that he will land.
Jess is risking everything because she has things to lose. Gwen thinks she has nothing to lose.
Gwen and Jess foil miles and Peter in so many ways and I think it is very interesting!!
Sorry if this is rambly but I needed to type it out

YOU
I see you like the warriors of hope from danganronpa
Any hcs you can share?
Finally! /hj
Quite a few, tho they may not be the best lol😅
Also, influenced by my 'Princess of Light' AU—basically a universe where Monaca met Makoto instead and was inpired by him.
Oh, and the rest of the Warriors are yanderes cause why not?
If anyone wanna check it out, here! I have some hcs that are specific for that au as well—if anyone is interested, I can post those too.
Anywho, hcs. Tw: angst, dark stuff. I'll add some silly fluff ones at the end so just scroll there if you wanna avoid the heavier drabbles
Monaca Towa
I have a feeling that Monaca is a bit like Cruella and/ or Himiko Toga. She already had some questionable tendencies that only worsen with the way she was treated; she just needed some help but we know how that ended up
Monaca def has a sibling complex. I think she always just wanted a family. No matter what, it's a fact: she was just a kid; a half-sibling was still a sibling to her, yet Haiji was absolutely disgusted by her very existence. (As someone with two older siblings I can't even imagine the pain)
I mean, just look at her wiki. The way it describes what others, what Haiji thought if her? Her own quotes? Yikes
Which is probably why she was so quickly and obsessively attached with Junko; the person who could be her sister—her family
Wanna know the 'best part'? It is canon that she knew perfectly well that Junko not only didn't actually care for them but was using them too. Ouch
Nagisa Shingetsu
Due to what his parents put him through, he abhors games where you have to grind or constantly level up.
He does however love cute casual/ mindless stuff; games where you can just turn off your brain and enjoy yourself—games where you don't need to be perfect, you can just be you
He is either completely terrified or utterly apathetic to needles. Like when the school nurse come to give the annual shot, he's either gonna break down or be like 'huh, another one.'
Pretty numb to sensations most of the time. Especially bad during exam week or if his parents have a new theory they wanna 'try out'
Kotoko Utsugi
Panics when men get into her personal space—espeacially fearful of the older/ bigger ones
Has dark tendencies too; it's unfair that she had to go through the abuse, so why not share the pain?
She'd tear some of the girls' skirt or top, or splash water onto them.
She wants other girls to be tainted so that she herself feels less dirty
When she used to act in school plays, she tried to spend as much time at rehearsals so that she didn't have to at her 'other job'
Probably has an eating disorder—mostly cause her mom keeps telling her she needs to be cute or else she is worthless
Jataro Kemuri
His obsession with hatred comes from the belief that while he is despised he is still paid attention too
Afterall, hate and love aren't opposites—they're paralells. Apathy is the true opposite
Jataro would pick being degraded and laughed at 1000× over being ignored
His worst experience was when his mom got so fed up that she didn't even get mad at him, just glared and walked away. A whole day of damning silence
Also, likely why he says random stuff; it confuses others and gives him their attention, if momentarily
Masaru Daimon
Due to his dad's addictions, Masaru flinches at the sight of a lighter
Additionally, he really hates strong smelling substances
He learnt how to patch himself and knew basic medical skills at a young age
As we've seen, he can also be self destructive; bruising himself when he feels like he's not living up to the title of 'Hero'
Lived off instant foods since his dad only gave him meager pocket change for it.
Now, onto the more light-hearted ones!
They like playing the Sims and/ or Minecraft together! Kotoko would design their characters and work with Jataro to build their house; Nagisa prefers playing free/ creative mode cause there's no goals or restrictions to abide; Masaru would likely be the only one hyped to finish certain milestones purely to brag; Monaca, well, she's gonna unleash all her pent up frustrations on those poor Sims/ mobs.
They used to have movie nights together! It was Kotoko's idea since it was an adorbs trend. Initially it was just the girls but eventually the guys joined too. They usually do it either at Monaca's place or very rarely at Jataro's.
They each have different love languages! Jataro's is physical touch, since he never recieved anything from his mother due to her disgust of him; Masaru's is words of affirmation as his dad never really said anything good about him and only talked when necessary; Kotoko's is quality time—since, prior to Monaca, people only interact/ spend time with her they have an ulterior motive; Nagisa's is acts of service—as he never had someone do something for him that didn't harm him; finally, Monaca's is gifts—she's the girl who has everything, but feels like she has nothing—a present, no matter how big or small, as long as it is genuine is precious to her
Speaking of, Monaca prob has a few gifts from the Warriors, and possibly even her other classmates, that she keeps. She says it's just for future blackmail but her heart says otherwise
Masaru is actually a pretty decent cook! He had grown tired of fast food so much he actually learnt how to make some basic meals. He sometimes even cooks for the others—mostly to impress them but still! Though he much prefers eating then preparing the meals
Jataro is awful at cooking tho—in fact, he's banned from the kitchen. He tends to get distracted and ends up putting random things into the mix
I have a feeling that all the Warriors have a 'liking' to Monaca, by different degrees however: Nagisa's is of course pupply love; Masaru thinks that they belong together since he's the Hero and she's the Princess; Kotoko probably sees her as a pure untainted angel that needs to be protected; and Jataro... well, maybe he's just confused lol

I know this is hardly an original observation, but upon checking out some zionist blogs just to see what kind of talking points are going around, it's nothing but *whataboutism to justify genocide*, *killing people is bad so the palestinians should stop and we blameless jews will consider doing likewise*, *some of the most sickeningly virulent racism concievable*, *as above regarding dead children this time*, *bad faith argument x, *bad faith argument y*, *something that shows the op is either a bloodthirsty monster or a fucking idiot *, *their pathetic little victim complex being used to justify crimes against humanity, AGAIN*, *calling anyone who thinks genocide is bad a nazi, see even Germany agree*, *israel isn't bad YOU'RE antisemitic n+1* ad nauseum.... It's such delusional bullshit that it goes past being sickening and gets into the surreal. And these are just the english stuff or that where the hebrew text could be highlighted and copy-pasted into google translate. Imagine the sheer scale of the violent bloodthirst that they're NOT openly expressing, ie. how violent bloodthirst is typically expressed. I know, objectively speaking, what we're observing is the effect of a 'nation-state' founded on lies, genocide and propaganda to justify it afterwards, and that survives due to lies, genocide and propaganda to justify it afterwards, but seeing the sheer brutality playing out whilst they bleat and whine about being the perpetual victims whilst gleefully celebrating the mass slaughter of innocent civilians who they've subjected to a long, slow apartied and ethnic cleansing over 70 years...
It's...pretty fucked up, ngl. I mean, it's not like a country being full of delusional morons is hardly new, I live in the UK, but the zionist entity really is a different beast, where the more you learn the more horrifying it gets and to add the fucked up cherry on the fucked up cake, you get the zionists bleating about they're so good and perfect and if any of our leaders dare say otherwise, well then a quick word with the zionist lobby later and they'll have changed their mind somehow... The shameless weaponising of antisemitism, the even more shameless usage of deliberate paralells to antisemitic acts in order to have a pre-loaded riposte to anyone who points out that making a game out of sniping pregnant women and children in the head (and manufacturing and distributing t-shirts boasting of their kill count...like consider how fucked a society has to be before that is even possible...) is kind of fucked up. It's like getting a glimpse into a sick, parody universe full of some of the most heinous bullshit imaginable and then some, insulting to the memory of those who survived the holocaut, you know, the genocide that they use as a convieniently universal and all-encompassing cassus beli ...... and we're just supposed to pretend this murderous little ethnostate is a normal country otherwise we're the bad ones? Otherwise we're the ones desecrating the memories of those who paid the ultimate price fighting facism?
No. Fuck that, that's utterly perverse and I refuse to play along with the sick pantomime that western geo-political interests demand that we do.
*sigh* Basically, I'm feeling sickened and despondent and am going to go relax after the recent additions to the zionist blocklist (I said I'd read what they think and try to understand them, not that I'd subject myself regularly to the putrid drivel that they mindlessly regurgitate - remember, block and don't engage, these people need genuine experts to deprogram the racist hatred that they're taught virtually from birth. (no seriously, reading the translations of some of the stuff they're taught in nursery/kindergarten is fucking chilling). Now for the obligatory disclaimer; I'm not a bigot nor whatever else the usual cadre of braindead scum would accuse me of. In fact, some of the people I respect the most are those citizens of the zionist entity that refuse to participate (5-15% of the populace, depending on sources, though most are towards the lower end of that) and seek to document and inform the world of the crimes of the land where, by accident of birth, they're forced to live. My heart genuinely goes out to those young kids whose choices are conscription (a fucked up and unethical concept even in a normal country...and they're not in a normal country) and carrying out genocide and ethnic cleansing or jail time. And the fact that there are young folk, teenagers, who look at this, the MASSIVE societal pressure, the ostracism, the violence they themselves are subjected to and choose the jail time, understanding that said jail time is a paid holiday compared to what your average Palestinian is subjected to by the occupation. They're folk who had the integrity to realise "Never Again" means "Never Again for ANYONE", and that makes them bigger heroes than any uniformed murderer posting snuff videos and 'trophies' to tiktok. Going to end this here, as having a rant about everything foul and perverse about the zionist entity and it's genocidal actions is an entire academic discipline's worth of writing and far more eloquent folk than I have made that point/written those books, and it's better you go read some of those. One day, in our lifetimes, Palestine will be free, from the river to the sea.

I like the twins /Alear thing but i don't like the whole "having the same dad without being siblings nor even half siblings is the new FE dicourse" so I am thinking of rewritting the twins background to save myself. What's better ? them simply coming from original Sombron's universe and being part of their kind or the twins still being from an alternate universe but they are Lumera's kid and Lumera is a fell dragon ?
You could just go with the simple alternate universe explanation, and with all parties hating their father it's not like there's much of a familial connection anyway. Some more alternate dimension perspectives:
Nel and Rafal is basically what would happen if Morgan married Lucina and traveled to a timeline where his mother married Lucina's dad. Or if Morgan married Owain and traveled to a timeline where Robin married Lissa and where she is married to Inigo when in her timeline she Inigo's siter. Except it is canon and that the twins did not exist in the original universe. Now let's watch the world burn.
We will be once again dealing with suspension of disbelief and bounding the rule of the universe right ?
The rule of the universe can be accepted. For exemple, the rule of the universe that Alfred and Celine are sibling are accepted therfore the players have no problem pretending that little pixel man is name Alfred nor in suspending their disbelief that he has Celine has a sister when the man really exist on his own. Same thing with suspending our disbelief into thinking that the small red haired boy in the banner is a child/young version of Eliwood and that they are the same characters.
However here the game wants us to believe that because the twins are the children of another Sombron and not our Sombron they are not Alear's siblings as a proof in their universe Alear is not their siblings while in Alear's world the twins don't even exist and could not because Sombron's kid did not match by pair of twins unlike for another Sombron's. That is a bit far-fetched however if we want to respect the rule of the universe, we have to suspand our disbelief into believing that. Which is why any member of the fandom against those ship because they read it as incestuous will have problem relying on the FE wiki since this whole bullshit led them to not include Alear and Veyle in the list of relatives, and I doubt they could find a fittin label. I personally don't view it as incestuous but there is no way I won't raise an eyebrow at someone telling me that marrying the children of your father's counterpart from another world. WHY IS IT SO DUMB ??
"My point is not that there isn't a non-incestuous explanation, because regardless of any ambiguity that would be covered by the playable Alear and Nel being from different dimensions."
What do we do when the non-incestuous explanation is canon but the fans don't want to listen to it and that pointing out that even believing 2 characters are "literal siblings" is only part of suspension of disbelief doesn't work and that even though it is jus an option they feel like they need to make it everyone's problem ? Avoiding twitter won't be enough, will it ?
I am genuinely confused by the number of people who don't know how paralel world tropes works. It's pretty obvious that Sombron and another Sombron are separated entity just like Zephia and Zelestia aint' the same so why do they think Alear and the twins are related ?
Can we talk about how we all got crooked ? We did not get Zephia, Griss not Marnie, we got new character that are SUPPOSED to be them but it's not them because they don't have the same personality. I wanted Marnie to reunite with Mauvier !! *snif*
For that last one - I haven't seen their supports yet, but I'm sure they play with that. It's not as though FE hasn't pulled this before, with Yen'fay in Awakening.

The Croods (2013)
Originally published February 4th, 2014
The Oscars are becoming less and less important to me, but some things still pique my interest.  I couldn't help but notice that after the controversy of Pixar taking home an Oscar last year, none of its 2013 projects were nominated for an Oscar this year.  What furthered my suspicion of manipulation were the projects that were nominated over Pixar's, specifically in the Best Animated Feature category.  The Croods received a nomination.  I thought "Hmm.  Let me watch this.  Let me see if The Croods truly deserves a shot at recognition over Monsters University."
It doesn't.  Buckle in, kids.  I have a lot to say.
At first, I thought this:
HOW can your theme POSSIBLY be don't be afraid if you constantly demonstrate all the hostilities ever present in the environment around you?  What good reason is there to just NOT BE AFRAID?
But then I thought:
Well, I guess they're implying that despite these dangers, there's a hope to overcome them.  That there are ways around them, as demonstrated by a nomadic friend who shows them inventions of his to overcome obstacles.  With the hope to alleviate their fears with solutions, they can "not be afraid".  Fine.  Alright.
At first, I thought this:
WHY just be a story about not being afraid?!  It would be so much more interesting if it were a story about finding a balance between living in fear and living your life.  After all, they live in such a dangerous world!  It seems remiss to just say "don't be afraid" when people should carry some fear with them!
But then I thought:
Well, some of my favorite movies have simple themes.  Beauty and the Beast was inhenrently just about inner beauty.  I can't fault a movie just because it isn't necessarily complex.  Alright... Fine...
And that's about where I draw the line with giving the movie credit, because it was just sloppy.  Even if its theme is forgivable, it just wasn't done in an interesting way.  You had the central character, the dad, who wanted to stay afraid, and this new guy constantly showing him up by proving you didn't have to be afraid.  And you just watched this father's entire family turn on him, and it's one of THOSE movies.  Where the main character is wrong the entire time, everyone knows he's wrong, and then he changes his ways.
That pisses me off.  Why would I want to see the character I'm supposed to be rooting for just suck for two-thirds of the movie, only to catch up with everybody else at the end?  That's not even growth, that's just--leveling the playing field.  At least if the movie HAD subscribed to the more complex theme, the central character could have been right to an extent.  His urge to be afraid could have been useful.
In fact, I almost thought the movie might go in that direction.  When a big, catastrophic volcano eruption happens, everyone seems inclined to be afraid.  It seems that fear might keep them alive!  NOPE.  The movie isn't ballsy enough to have a climax hinging on "SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO BE AFRAID".  It wasn't going to be a movie where the dad learned to be less afraid while the traveler learned to be more afraid.  It was destined to have that BEAUTIFUL, INTERESTING PARALELL.  Naw, instead, when everybody starts to get afraid, the dad is suddenly not afraid.  Like, in one moment, EVERYBODY reversed their positions.  I want to say this expresses how passionate the father character is about what he believes in, as when he changes his ways, he finds himself even less afraid than his newly fearless family.  But I would likely just be humoring myself.
There were other problems as well.  The progression of the story was not that interesting.  It was essentially the family trying to find a safe place to go.  That would be compelling if there were constant danger provoking them to find this place, but there wasn't.  In fact, most of the movie was just a pleasant romp that really only served to prolong the dad's arc of "not be afraid".  There was hardly any forward motion to keep the plot going.
Listen.  I like slapstick.  I'm willing to permit it in animated movies.  Sure.  A little lightning strike that leaves you unscathed, a giant boulder falling on top of you, alright.  It could be problematic that slapstick lowers the stakes when actual danger comes around as it’s been proven the character can take a lot, but good storytelling can get you nervous at the right moments.  But this movie--it had occasional bouts of slapstick and that was it.  There wasn't any consistency.  It just confused you whenever there was action because you couldn't tell if it would result in slapstick or legitimate pain.  (And also, a movie that's about overcoming fear might not benefit much from slapstick, which tends to imply a nearly supernatural imperviousness to things.)
Among the other sloppy things included the story beats.  All the sentimental parts of the movie were talked out extensively, which is always annoying.  I don't want to see the movie not have any confidence that its theme is told clearly enough without specific dialogue being spat out.  There was a lot of "What's this?"-eqsue caveman humor that kept making the characters stupid (and stupidity tends to be an unlikable trait when in such great numbers.)  And the CHARACTERS.  I'll need a new paragraph for that...
The designs were unimpressive.  Most of them exhibited what I call "crazy eyes", which is when there isn't enough white around the pupils.  It just looks offputting.  And I really try not to make this criticism, but the voices really didn't fit the characters.  The characters actually seemed more expressive than the voices coming out of them, and the voices themselves just didn't really exert much of anything.  The performances were powerless.  Whoever directed the actors sucked at their job.  And poor Catherine Keener, hardly given any lines.  Of the six family members, only the dad and the daughter were even close to important.  The other characters were just shoved in the background.  Not that any of those character had an ounce of development, but they had the potential to be interesting.  They could have easily been developed and used more.  But they just kind of existed as talking tropes.  Every character.  Which is the absolute worst kind of character to write.
I'm honestly kind of astonished with how much I disliked about The Croods.  I was never interested in watching it, but its Oscar nomination made my viewing of it inevitable.  I expected average family stuff, and that's what I wound up getting.  But I was just taken aback by how unimpressive average really is.  It offered me nothing new.  Aside from two chuckles, all this movie gave me was confusion that was eventually replaced with disappointment.  They had cavemen, cool creatures, vibrant settings!  There's so much that could be done with that to be engaging and new!  But nope.  They just had to make the movie all...
...
...primitive.

Headcanon: The Gundalian culture is based on individualism, the Neathian culture is based on collectivism
Tumblr media
Race interpretation part one: Neathia
Summary: The Neathian culture is built on the core values of communities and collective thinking. While conformity within the society is of a high level, they pursue a 'closed gate' diplomacy towards other races - resulting in a 'bubble' phenomenon and becoming vulnerable to losing their sense of belonging. Centralised urban system, with regional reciprocity and redistribution, whereby the Queen plays a coordinator role, and exists as a unifying symbol along with the military.
(Wall-of-text warning ; with block-breaker illustrations, but a huge amount of information ahead.)
Okay, this topic is something I was thinking about for a long time, and I finally hit the point to collect my thoughts and write them down. I've seen a lot of people trying to build up/further and enrich the cultural and social-political features of the alien races we've seen in the series (namely Vestals, Neathians and Gundalians), and I felt some inspiration to put my take on these things into words.
It's not only intriguing to try one's hand on the world-further-building, but I felt, I have to explain how I imagine the build-up of the Neathian and Gundalian culture and society to make the story of the 'Neathian Special Squad' ('NSS') more understandable 'symbolically' and from the aspect of a 'cultural clash'. /For those, who follow the NSS: This is something that definitely happens later on, you just don't know about it yet./
I have to put a small disclaimer here: This entire piece of writing was conspired out of fun and passion towards the series. It was not meant to be a 100% professor approved scientific research, but a seemingly logical untangling of my personal train of thoughts concerning the fantasy creatures of the third season. And this means, there is going to be some personal opinion mixed in as well (especially at the rewriting parts).
I wish the readers to enjoy reading it regardless. You are always free to disagree or not to take it seriously. :) To me, headcanonizing and imagining things always meant to be fun.
Side note: I'll add canon elements as examples or refer to the events of Gundalian Invaders, although I have to admit, I'll do this mostly from memory. So If I get anything wrong, or just remember incorrectly, you are welcome to add-in or correct me! :)
Season: Bakugan: Gundalian Invaders (and Mechtanium Surge)
Language: English dub
Okay, let's go!
Gundalian Invaders - Slightly rewritten
The first and foremost reason I actually started writing this post, is because I had some issues with the characterisation of the Gundalians and Neathians in the third season. One side is depicted blatantly, purposelessly and one-dimensionally evil, while the other is portrayed to be the goodie-two-shoes victims with no backlashes. I wanted to swing over this simplicity and make an attempt at explaining, how I imagined these races to function. These interpretations were explored with the intention of both keeping the main features of the races, staying canon-compliant where possible, but change canon elements/propose ideas to turn the races into interesting (and on a theoretical level functioning) societies.
For these added or assumed ideas to work, some lore elements have to be changed or removed: For example the way Bakugan got to be on the planets. For this explanation see: a further point below.
This post discusses only Neathia for now. (Gundalia will probably get it's own post, as there is much more canon-divergence to be talked about.)
Tumblr media
Neathians
1. The beginnings and core values
Tumblr media
Due to the power of the Sacred Orb, almost the entire planet have relished in a lush fertility since the beginnings. (And this is why there are huge plants in their jungles. The wildlife also experienced a great upsurge by the life-force of the Orb.) This prosperity quickly enabled the Neathian race to organize into a peaceful and sharing society, because the wars over resources became redundant and unnecessary. The established racial mindset reallocated the focus from the individual needs to the communal efforts, and gives a ground for the Neathian values and collective thinking up to even the days of the season.
Neathians think mainly in groups: Let those be pairs (e.g. Fabia and Jin as fiancés; Linus and Neo Zipperator as brawling partners), teams (Neathian Special Squad; Friendship circles), communities (Castle Knights), and the biggest of them all, their entire race. These are all bigger or smaller communities within communities, and they play a major role in how Neathians perceive the world and themselves. Being in these relationship structures defines their place, grants them their basic mental frame, which they are able to think in, and not only their resources, but also their goals are shared with each other. This kind of goal assimilation is what makes them really efficient team players, and also provides them a strong social support from a mentalhygiene perspective. This important role of the sense of belonging makes Neathians both empowered while being in close social constructs , and extremely susceptible to losing these connections.
Tumblr media
Thinking like this, when Fabia lost her fiancè or Linus lost Neo, their grief extended further than their deaths or the traumatic events. Losing strong bonds like these put Neathians in a technical identity crisis, as it is a part of their personal perception and mental frame which were dismantled through these events. We have seen Fabia going to extremes to retrieve Aranaut - and to retrieve that part of her, which was lost with Jin. Just as when Rubanoid was handed to Linus, a new connection was formed to either replace or continue the old one in a different form. Fabia's communal bonds were successfully restored, when she also became a member of the brawlers.
The Neathian society is based on caring and cooperation to achieve a collective well-being. This is why communities play such a major role in their self-perception and world-perception.
2. Open-sources, but enclosed diplomacy
For most part, I've always imagined the Neathian race as an although proud and generous, but closed society. They share commodities with each other - within their society -, but it is very important, that only within it. The outside world (meaning outside of their habited planet) is fundamentally shut out of these transactions.
I often refer to this phenomenon of enclosedeness as the 'Neathian bubble':
Not only their mindset operates in closed communities, but their diplomacy too. They are generally passive towards other races, missing trust and a reason to pick up the communication /Up until the Gundalians came and the war started/. This perspective could be applied to understand, why could they be more insistent on and better at operating defensive mechanisms (layered shield generator), than initiating communication with the rest of the universe (Unlike Gundalians, Neathians have no ships or bigger means of transportation. Yes, teleportation is accessible for them, but I don't think they use it that often outside of Neathia.)
Tumblr media
I treat this as an explanation for why Neathia had only asked for outside help after the second shield generator went down - the situation became desperate and already being involved in the conflict, it was time to try and reach out for aid. According to these headcanons, I also think, Serena wasn't putting - or at least shouldn't have put - faith in the Brawlers so easily. The reason they weren't tested to prove their trustworthiness further than one question, is because she trusted Fabia's judgement. Without the support of a Neathian, outlanders are almost automatically dismissed. Their (or their Queen's) empathy and compassion may overwrite this code, but even by then they have to be made certain by proving the cause.
Tumblr media
Just as when Fabia accepted Ren, because she had seen how much he tried to prove himself. Winning Neathians’ trust is supposed to be a big and determining moment, because they ‘internalise’ you into their scoiety.
Neathians are capable of empathy and kindness (this is something they actively practice among each other), even towards outsiders, they just need time and proof to accept them. Trust is just not automatic towards them, and even so they keep their distance until they get used to it.
3. Personal paralel counterparts - Night elves and the Highborne of WoW
Tumblr media
When I think about Neathians, I often put them into paralel with the Night elves and the Highborne from World of Warcraft. For most part, I use their artistic motives, architecture, fashion and cultural approach as an inspiration for Neathians, as they are recognised as 'The pretty space elves' in my book too.
Beside the above mentioned, what could be imported from their WoW counterparts is a rather matriarchal social apparat. For example, Neathians traditionally having a Queen, and women being present in the military or in higher positions, playing important roles. //Just as by the Night elves leadership, religious and military roles being traditionally occupied by women (priestesses, wardens, sentinels).//
Another elven impression, which is more or less universal, is their sense of pride (I like to say it as the expression of 'Neathian pride '). Highborne in World of Warcraft are a quite prestigious race and are usually said to be a little 'aristocratic'. I can imagine the Neathians being lightly less, but somewhat similar on these terms, when it comes down to interacting with their own or other races: For example being proud of their appearance (Emphasizing their unique V-shaped forehead with adequate clothing and accessories), structuring buildings and constructs based on aesthetic instead of real functionality (using diamond as the main material of construction, structuring buildings with elegant but futuristic shapes), or being confident and showing immovable standing and opinion on things (towards outsiders).
As far as I know, the Warcraft elves used to be similarly passive and uninitiative - even mistrusting - towards other races too. And in this, it played part, that they also had exclusive access to a powerful source of power and prosperity, the Well of Eternity (an almost one-on-one counterpart to the Sacred Orb).
While the half-tribal connections of the Night elves derive from their ancient bonds with nature and druidism, the Neathian society feels more likely being based on a futuristic envisionment of these social relations. A civilisation that perfectly blends technology (teleportation technology, communication devices) with classic fantasy elements (knights), while still remaining tribal in the core (shared communality is just put into a modern environment). /Although I like to lean more into the fantasy setting, the technical advancement is undeniable there./
4. Overall economy
If we wanted to negotiate about their economy, I would say reciprocity and localised redistribution are the dominant mechanisms of it. The basic definition of economy builds on the premise of distribution of scarce resources. In this case, resources are not scarce, in fact, due to the Orb they are very much prosperous and renewing. This accessibility discounts the value of the traditional market trading, and supports the establishment of semi-centralised recollection and redistribution. The semi-centralisation here means regional production and consumption, whereby the accomodation of the population happens mainly territorialy, but these regional centres still have a connection to each other and the capitol. This economy is based on caring and well-being, and the high level of conformity and trust within the collective society results in a lack of currency usage (so, my headcanon is basically, that they don't use money).
5. Urbanisation and territorial layout
The reason we talk about a more physical apsect of the planets, is because the core values of the races both play a role, and mutually affect how I imagine their civilised hubs being developed. Communities form hubs and cities with strong connections - just like their society!
When I mentioned localised redistribution, I was also refering to the urban structure of the Neathian planet. Important to note, that Neathia is not just a city, or a country - just like Gundalia, it's the entire planet. What we've seen in the show is the capital of their urban system - which makes sense to be technically built around / in the immediate enclosure of the Sacred Orb, for it's the source of the relishing power. Assuming this, along the capital there could be a centralised territorial layout with rural areas (cities, villages), and untouched wilderness (due to the overflourishing flora and fauna; the urbanisation doesn't affect the entirety of the planet, there are a lot of uninhabited/uncharted areas).
Tumblr media
Here is a simple schematic illustration of the above.
The rural hubs not having physical connection with other centres due to the dangerous and untamable wilderness (see: Giant plants in the show) could have lead to the advancement of the teleportation technology. The cities are connected through this port-system, and also with the capital, which serves as the centre of the network.
6. The role of the queen and the military
Tumblr media
The main purpose of the current Queen is an overall governance with the direct help of a council consisting of the local leaders of the hubs. The queen bears not only a political, but a symbolical importance to the people. The concept of the Queen is a unifying symbol, someone who watches over the nation. The Neathians can stand behind her and being represented by her. But it's important to note, that her status is not as glorified as to be a despotic being, and her power is not extending much further than overall policies, diplomatic representation and helping the transactions of the local leaderships. There is much more power and independence shifted into the regional governance, rendering the Queen's position to be an effective coordinator between them and unifier, who keeps the nation together. /Still thinking about the way the queen is chosen/comes to the throne, but I had the idea of the next Queen being elected by the current Queen, so the order of succession is not based on the Queen’s family, nor being a community vote of the people./
The peace-oriented existence in itself doesn't require a military to exists, therefore I treat the Castle Knights as a mainly defensive organisation. This military serves as Neathia's defenders, bearing symbolic and community building purposes. Among the Castle Knights - just as the name itself suggests - the traditional medieval knight values show up primarily, such as loyality, humility, courage, faithfulness and the act of mercy. In their comprehension, being a Castle Knight is an act of service towards their country and the Queen, and is not mainly for warfare reasons. (To some extent, I assume martial arts and other forms of fighting - even brawling - is essentially a spiritual activity, which they pursue in order to keep their inner- and physical balance.)
As we've seen it the show, I assume the Palace also functions as the military's operation base. The head of the military is the current commander (formerly Jin, recently Elright), and under them operate several divisions with captains as division leaders. The separate divisions are Physical Fighting (both with weapon, like those defensive shock-sticks the guards are using - formerly offensive melee weapons until the fall of NSS - and hand-to-hand combat, e.g. used by Fabia), Technical staff (operating the shield generators and overseeing their areas) and Bakugan Brawling (this headcanon part is still under construction, but Elright used to be the former leader of this, and the reason he was promoted to commander after Jin’s death, is because the Neathians' realisation of the war swinging in favor of the Bakugan fights, so it was logical to put him as the next 'general leader'). /There may be other divisions outside of these, I just put out some ideas here./  Every guard receives education to some extent in all of these fields, but they end up specialising in something.
//The Neathian Special Squad (NSS) had it’s own divison under Captain Pyrehart, they were a special strike team with a unusual task: Staggering, forcing back or just divide the Gundalian leadership’s attention from focusing on their assault. Basically poking them with melee weapons until they either go away, or can’t concentrate on helping their Bakugan on the field and their monsters get defeated. According to the story - made up by me of course - after a tragedic mission this unit wasn’t restored, and the war effort shifted onto long-range fighting with Bakugan, Gear and Bakugan Assaults.//
7. So...where are the Bakugan?
Tumblr media
They have been mentioned here and there, but I'm sure, whoever made it this far into this theorising information dump, may wonder at this point: 'But what about the Bakugan?'
My simplest answer is, that I firmly want to believe, both Gundalia and Neathia had a civilised and established culture before the Bakugan appeared there.
According to the original lore, Bakugan existed on the planets since almost the beginnings. Now, this is part of those lore bits I would definitively change during a rewrite: I want to believe, Bakugan only appeared in their very recent history, almost as recently, as on Earth and Vestal itself.
Perhaps a Bakugan lore- and GI rewrite explanation deserved it's own post, but for the further understanding allow me to explain here a little: A similar event of raining cards - what the first season started with - occured on Neathia and Gundalia too, caused by the dimensional boom of Michael Gehabich and his transporter. The twist on this - and the effective solution to the problem of possible timeline inconsistencies - is that although the explosion caused this interference at one point in time, across cosmos and universes time flows differently. So technicaly the result of it - the raining cards and Bakugan being transported into the particular worlds - could happen at different point of their relative times - even years earlier or later! On Neathia and Gundalia it could happened a few years before on Earth, which covers most of the questions of the timeline-consistency /such as Ren being assigned to watch over Linehalt as a child etc./
Bakugan coming to these places has only an added effect: Just as on Earth, they are not (yet?) integrated into the society and culture of the planets so deeply to be any kind of pillar of their existence or basic civilisation. There could be a start (as having specialised researches, technology revolving around Bakugan, taking part in the war,..) regarding this internalisation process, but it still runs on the surface, and not in the 'veins' of the culture.
I hope this breakdown made sense in some form or another. I just felt an urge to pour out the content of my head. Looking back, this became longer and more detailed, than I originally intended, while also surely missing things because there is no worldbuilding without holes or further questions. The attempt to lay down the basics was made regardless haha!
As always, feel free to disagree and follow your own visions concerning the races and worldbuilding. :) This post was made to reflect back my personal interpretation of Neathians - just for fun and thinking out loud.
For the very end, I leave a disclamer here, which was supposed to go at the beginning, but it felt redundant to put there, so here it is:
I tried to approach it from a more sociological side, as focusing on a bigger, overall picture, common features, than create exact statements. (I would rather call this a speculation regarding the features of the races themselves, their core values, common attitudes, mindset - and this doesn't mean other questions are fully out of the picture. We are just discussing things, which can be derived from the features of the society itself, and make up a more or less coherent chain of thought for now. Other 'for fun' or miscellaneous headcanons, like fashion or physical traits will be covered another time.)
Thank you for coming to this TED mambling!

Eldritch Insanity is Bullshit
Incendiary title, but still.
I hate, hate the trope of “Eldritch powers will drive you insane just by looking at them!” and the inherent madness instilled in so much gothic horror.  Partially because I disagree with it (I’ll get to that shortly), but also because it’s just so god-damn lazy do much of the time.
“Look at this good man go crazy because there’s a new color!” or “He looked at an Ancient One and his life was never the same because he knew how insignificant it was!”
Like...I’ve met a hell of a lot of people.  And if we ignore the various (hopefully) unintentional paralells that reinforce “if you’re not sane you’re violent and evil” dynamics, I’ve not met one person who would just break from that.  It’s not how humans do it.
Either you’re inclined to believe it, you’re inclined to disbelieve it, you already believe it, or you’ll never believe it.  And while it can certainly be unsettling, it’s not new and it’s not constantly reinforced.  There are so many other responses to cosmic insignificance, and “Fuck you, prove it.” is fully legitimate.  So is “and what?  Your squiddly-face thought I didn’t know that already? Fuck it.”
I get that it’s typically horror.  And depressive atmospheres and isolation is usually easier to deal with than full-blown refusal to accept or be changed by it, but it’s just...
Humans have been dealing with eldritch things since forever.  Literally every Abrahamic sect is built around “so, there’s this thing that encompasses all of the universe and is utterly foreign and unknowable, and its plans are on a scale you will never be able to understand.  And also, you’re gonna have a shitty life for no reason but there’s a plan for it so it’s okay, even if you have no idea what that plan is.”
How would that framework not work for Cthulhu, Shub-Nuggurath, Slaanesh, or the King in Yellow again?  “Cool, good for him.  So I’m gonna do my thing over here and whatever.” is actually the proven human response (one of them) to “Ancient unknowable cosmic bender of reality and existence exists and wants to do a thing.”  Sure, if they tried they could break people.  Cosmic Powers and all that, but still.
Give me a cosmic badass, not because they have laser guns and shoot a Mind Flayer in the face.  But because they, in the most human way, don’t care.  Fuck, astronauts and astronomers actually experience that, say it changed their perspective on life, and actively seek it out as motivation to be better to one another.
Good for you, Cthulhu.  But I’ve got a show to catch up on.  Lemme know what’s up when you need something and maybe I’ll help.”

THEY FINALLY GAVE US STUFF about HAWKS’ Childhood!!
In an Interview of Honyasan MA with Kohei Horikoshi’s current editor- we get new information about Hawks’ Canon History within the MHA universe.
Aparrently his childhood was close to and inspired by Lionel Messi's! (A prodigy child; Often considered the most skilled, fastest and youngest professional soccer player in the world, holding the record for most goals and assists in La Liga.)
Looking at the paralells:
"When you saw him you would think: this kid can't play ball. He's a dwarf, he's too fragile, too small. But immediately you'd realise that he was born different, that he was a phenomenon and that he was going to be something... impressive." - Quote of NOB coach about Lionel.
Lionel trained hard and played better for the RC since he was six years old. During this time he scored almost 500 as a young member of the ‘near-unbeatable’.
Hawks was taken in by the comission and trained hard under them when he was six years old, because he had unusually high stats (probably quirk-factor and strategic intelligence).
He had always been a really small child, but sadly, later in his childhood Lionel was diagnosed with GHD, ‘growth hormone deficiency’, (which stops hight- and weight-gain, reduces bone strength, causing fratures and can cause a lack stamina, strench and a sensitivity to hot/cold temperatures.) The treatment was extremly expensive, - too expensive. But he trained even harder and due to his potential his contracting party paid the medical treatments.
[We don’t know how much Horikoshi took these events over, so we can’t surely say Hawks had this deficiency, but what we know is- ] the HPSC doubtlessly invested much money in Hawks, because his ‘potential’ was worth it.[Since his strategic intelligence and quirk-factor are high above average.]
“He was so quiet all the time, that his teammates initially believed he was mute.”
Tumblr media
Keigo does not look like a child that talks much- and this is... outstanding. - His grown-up self, Hawks, is talking all the time and although Hawks is lying extremly often, he does it with remarkable and highly expressive body-language! So why is the kid Keigo drawn so extreme quiet and apathetic? [Just like Touya’s bodylanguage was completly different than Dabi’s.]
17 years, three months, and 22 days old, [Lionel] was [...] the youngest player to represent Barcelona in an official competition. On his 18th birthday, he signed his first contract as a senior team player and his buyout clause increased to €150 million. [He rapidly progressed through the club's ranks, debuting for a record five times in a single campaign.]
We can assume Hawks worked as a hero way before he became 18; working under the comission and beeing worth the money. But when he became 18 [on the same day, guys!] he immediatly opened his own agancy. And this with extreme sucess.
A really cool story to know:
When he was 15 Lionel played in the the Copa Catalunya final and made it known as the “final of the mask”: It was a week after he suffered a broken cheekbone, so in the match he had to wear a plastic protector. But he was hindered by the mask, so near the end he just took it off - and saved their victory in under 10 minutes.
I know, I know- Now just image - Kid Keigo is about to lose a fight:  “Oh no, dude, looks like am losing-  just uff gimme a sec... Ah- ooops! I just broke my jaw-protecc!” *stamps wildly on plastic mask* “Guess I’ll have to do without now!”

Hello yes my brain hasn’t been able to stop thinking about the biblical references in the locked tomb trilogy
Harrow the Ninth and Gideon the Ninth spoilers below the cutoff!
I saw some people in the fandom talking about the Gideon/Jesus metaphore and about how her death mirrors the crucifiction but i havnt seen people point out the similarities of the overall arch’s of the two stories, so I’m gonna do it!
This is mainly to get my thoughts down and organized, many people have probably said half this stuff way better articulated than I could, but nonetheless
(For some context, I was raised presbyterian christian and I have two presbyterian pastors as parents. While I haven’t closely read the story of Jesus’ resurrection in a while, I hear it every year and some of these parallels really jumped out at me and have been consuming my thoughts recently, so here we go)
The story of Jesus crucifixion basically goes like this: Jesus is crucified, and dies for our sins, is laid to rest in the tomb and the rock is rolled over. The rock remains rolled over for three days, and on the morning of the third day the rock is rolled away and Jesus is resurrected. I think it’s generally agreed that Jesus was said to have walked around for about 40 days after the resurrection before acending into heaven.
Now for Gideon story. First of all the obvious. She is the Child of God, like Jesus. Ok, so from there the first thing I think is important to note is that lyctorhood itself is referred to as “the great sin” or “a sin”, whether it’s by God (when he’s telling harrow about the beasts), or by the Lyctors.
The reason this is important to note is because a cavalier has to die for a necromancer to be able to commit the sin of lyctorhood. So Gideon literally died for Harrows sins, specifically the sin of lyctorhood. And as for crucifiction paralels, someone did a post that I looked for but couldn’t find (if i find it I’ll link it here) that basically said that Gideon’s sword could represent the cross. Also Both Jesus and Gideon were stabbed.
The next most important part of Gideons arc after her death is when Harrow traps Gideon in her brain. The way Harrow traps Gideon’s soul is interesting, because her soul/brain almost acts as a rock that is keeping Gideon from resurfacing or resurecting. Harrow herself is the rock, and Harrows soul leaving her body is the equivalent to the rock being rolled away. This was pretty much confirmed for me when magnus said “you’re not waiting for her resurrection, you’ve made yourself her mausoleum”. (Mausoleum: A building, especially a large or stately one, housing a tomb or tombs.) shes literally Gideon’s tomb. (while a mausoleum and a tomb aren’t exactly the same thing I find the comparison here very interesting).
The next most important thing is the three days, and the resurrection the morning of the third day. Harrow says, near the end of Htn “So many months had passed: and yet, at the same time, she had only lost Gideon Nav three days ago. It was the morning of the third day in a universe without her cavalier” But of course Gideon is there, resurfacing (or resurrecting in Harrows body for the first time in what is for Harrow the morning of the third day.
Now that I’m done with the direct parallels, this brings us into theory territory. So in the story of Jesus, he walked The earth after his resurrection for around 40 days. This could have significance, but I honestly don’t think it will. What I’m far more interested in is his ascension into heaven. To me, it would be an amazing continuation to these story arch parallels if Gideon and Harrow do ascend to perfect lyctorhood. This is by no means a new theory, I just like how it relates to this. And who knows! Maybe the 40 days will be significant too, these book keeps surprising me!
So yeah, that’s pretty much it!! Congrats if you got this far through my convoluted writing, hope you found this as cool as I did! Disclaimer, this was just for fun! If I got any facts wrong about either story feel free to correct me, and if you don’t agree that’s chill! These are just my personal headcanons at the end of the day!
Also I’m curious if anyone else has made these comparisons already, cause I hadn’t seen many posts about it, which is why I made this! Anyways, I don’t know how to end posts. Have a good one I guess!

okay this one relies on whether mulder is aware of cas’ biblical status. because if he is then i think he’d go full crisis mode. remember in all souls when he was soo dismissive of anything relating to angels it was his worst moment, so i think he’d be pissed for a little while at least. once he got over it they’d get along though <3
sam and mulder
self recognition through the other self (positive) they have all of each-other’s best traits so they bond over it. also weirdgirl loreboy transmasc moment. they are best friends and everyone else is mildly annoyed by this.
dean and scully
dean and cas to mulder and scully paralells.. this makes him absolutely insane. i also think dean is intimidated by scully just in general. he goes out of his way to put on a display of how great he is before he realizes scully is not nearly as scary as she comes off.
cas and scully
cas is literally scullys new best friend. meow meow moment. too good for the people they’ve been head over heels in love with for years. they literally just gossip about everyone in between deep philosophical conversations. also cas’ existence is like, vindication for mulders denial of her faith
sam and scully
weirdgirl moments!!! also still having faith even though that faith has been used against you…. like you said, lack of bodily autonomy. they are holding hands and bonding over bad experiences. psychic girl moments too.
honorable mention: jack <3
i genuinely don’t think he’s had any interaction with anyone aside from those people in lebanon, (and you saw how well that went) so i don’t think he’d know how to act. but they’re all freaks so i think they’d all get along <3

I’m playing the new warframe quest and i have some... thoughts. SPOILERS AHEAD, seriously if you want to play this quest at some point, don’t read spoilers!
I am LOVING it, but the moment time travel and paralell universes were mentioned i think i got how this quest is going to end. I mean, it’s a foregone conclusion that everything will reset, right? Or they would have to launch Warframe 2, which would be cool but crazy.
But I am loving grown up Operator SO much... I’m gonna be so sad. I love the camp, it’s so beautiful. I want to play THIS game, damn it.

deep end of a dream
Fandom: Doctor Who
Pairing: 11th Doctor x Reader & Ganger!Doctor x reader
Summary: You were in love with the Doctor but unfortunately the Doctor couldn't make up his mind between his feeling for you and for River. When an accident resulting in creation of another Doctor, will that be the answer everyone is hoping for?
Warning: ooc, angst, plot holes as usual, dark!doctor, etc. You have been warned.
More warning: English is not my first language so beware of the headache you will receive upon reading this.
"Y-you are leaving the Tardis? Where are you going?"
He smiled as he show you a vortex manipulator. "Cheap time travel but this will do. I can go anywhere anytime."
"B-but..." You felt unwillingness to part with him.
"Two doctors in one Tardis? That could never work out." The ganger Doctor turned stabilized said. "I can't stay here." He took a step toward you, taking one of your hands in his. "I was hoping you would come with me."
Your mouth dropped open in shock.
"I mean I know I'm not the real Doctor..."
"You are the Doctor." You insisted.
He smiled solemnly. "You told him before that you are leaving him...leaving the Tardis."
You did say that to the original Doctor before he took you and the Ponds to the flesh factory. You are done waiting for him, waiting for a man who could never love you properly.
"Come with me." The ganger Doctor pleaded.
You didn't know what to say.
 7777
You have been with the Doctor longer than any other companion. You first met the Doctor in his tenth incarnation while he was with Rose. You soon fell in love with the Doctor but has to endure heartbreak as he only has eyes for Rose. After losing Rose, the Doctor dropped you at home and didn't come back for you for a long while. He said you are better off without him. You pleaded him to let you stay but he cruelly ignored you.
You met the Doctor on board of the valiant courtesy of the Master. The Master somehow found out about your feeling for the Doctor and use it against you and the Doctor. You were there as a hostage and as the Master's plaything. He likes to rub it that the Doctor doesn't love you. He basically outed your pathetic feeling for the Doctor.
It was a very long and painful year. You were forced to watch as the Master torture the Doctor, regressed him into a sort of aged creature and put him in a cage as added humiliation. You met Jack, an immortal and a former companion of the Doctor. He was a hostage as well and his fate is worst than you. The Master likes to be variable in his method of torture. And yet, Jack is brave and still laughed in face of repeated tortures and deaths.
Then you met Martha, the woman who walked the Earth, the storyteller, the one who saved the Doctor and the world. Like you, Martha was in love with the Doctor but the Doctor still hung up on Rose. After time is reset, Martha decided to stop travelling with the Doctor.
The Doctor apologized to you for getting you involved with his mess. You were sure he would turn you away again but instead he asked you to travel again with him and like the besotted fool you are, you agreed. But the two of you never talked about the elephant in the room which is your outed feeling for the Doctor. Both of you pretended that it didn't happen. But it was hard for you, traveling with the Doctor, interacting with him, discovering his many adorable quirk that made your feeling for him strengthen.
Eventually, Donna joined you and the Doctor. She recognized your feeling for the Doctor immediately and she is being supportive of you despite you telling her about your love rival, Rose.
During one of your routine adventure with Doctor and Donna, you met River Song. River seemed to know who you are and acted as if you and her are friends despite you have no idea who she is. You got jealous at how River confidently talked and keep up with the Doctor. You and Donna got uploaded inside CAL. After the Doctor saved everyone, you learned that River is dead and you felt guilty for being jealous of her before. That woman died to save everyone.
Donna often likes to push you and the Doctor together. During a visit at Midnight, Donna pushes you to take a trip with the Doctor instead of spending time at the spa with her. You got under thrall of an unknown creature that possessed another passenger and the Doctor had to save you from it while stopping the rest of the passengers from trying to have you thrown out of the cabin.
He kissed you and took the infection off you, rendering himself under the creature's thrall. You tried to save him too but it was futile. You tried to calm down everyone but it was like all of them has lost their rational mind. When you both finally survived the creature, you could only hugged each other in relief. You cried and accidentally tell him that you love him. But he was too distracted to respond.
Many things happened so fast after that. Earth got stolen and Rose come back. So you and the Doctor never got a chance to talk about it. You don't know whether to feel sad or relief, after all, knowing your feeling is unrequited. It hurts watching the Doctor and Rose reunited. You could see how much they love each other through their interaction.
Then, metacrisis Doctor Donna happened. After saving the universe, the Doctor left Rose and Metacrisis Doctor back on the paralel universe. You and the Doctor had to say goodbye to Donna whose memory got erased. You insisted of staying with the Doctor. You can't bear to let him be alone. Luckily, he didn't fight you about staying.
He was lonely still. You weren't enough for him. You know this. It hurts. You let him use you. He soaked in your love for him.
You stayed with him through his regeneration into the bow-tied man that you will eventually love too. Inside the crashing Tardis, you fell into the swimming pool and got a concussion for it. The newly-regenerated Doctor is very worried for you.
You were wary of the new Doctor but he was very affectionate with you. He fussed over you. He treated your head wound. You eventually accepted that he is still the Doctor you know, just a little bit difference, well, a lot difference.
The Doctor invited Amy to board the Tardis. You and Amy get along alright. She notices immediately about your feeling for the Doctor. You are wondering if you are really bad to keep your feeling a secret if anyone could know immediately.
This version of the Doctor really is too affectionate. He loves hugging or taking your hand in his firmly. Sometimes you could almost believe he is flirting with you. But, of course, the Doctor remained vague regarding your relationship. You might be making a mistake by staying. As you expected, the more you know this new Doctor, the more your feeling for him grow even more, one might say it was like a cancer.
You and the Doctor met River again. Your heart is broken again when you heard the Doctor confirmed Amy's teasing that River is indeed his future wife. But the threat of the weeping angels distracted you enough from letting yourself drown in misery.
River is very nice with you, still saying that you and her are friends. When you two are alone, you decided to ask whether she is really married to the Doctor. She only gave you a really annoyingly vague answer.
You are done. You wanted to leave the Doctor. You will not stay and pined for a married man. But River seemed to figure out your line of thinking and pleaded you to stay. She said the Doctor need you and that someday you will have to save the Doctor. You don't know if she is lying however you have no choice but to stay in case she really is saying the truth.
Afterward you tried to keep your distant with the Doctor. Both the Doctor and Amy noticed. Amy tried to comfort you, knowing your reasoning.
Rory eventually joined inside the Tardis too. It's getting kind of crowded in the Tardis but you didn't mind. You also get along nice with Rory.
While the Doctor and Amy are kind a bit reckless, you and Rory become their voice of reason...somewhat. You would even said you and Rory are probably the sane ones. The Doctor and Amy would jump and greet dangers together while laughing a bit like maniac. They often ganged up against you and Rory, calling you both the boring ones.
  7777
"The Doctor is a selfish old man. You will be waiting for a long time for him, poor little (name)." The Dream Lord had mocked you. "And he will let you wait for him instead of letting you go. He is that cruel."
You hated that everyone seemed to know your feeling for the Doctor.
"You are right, little (name), he is like a cancer. You better run before he takes over you completely." He said.
He is reading your mind. How can he be reading your mind like this?
"But I suppose, it was already too late for you, eh?"
When they finally defeated the Dream Lord, you can't help but wonder if the Doctor can read other people's mind after he admitted that the Dream Lord is in fact a darker version of himself.
  7777
Tears falling from your cheeks as you watched the somewhat weary Doctor sitting inside Pandorica, readying himself to fly toward the exploding Tardis.
River had explained that when he did that, he will be erased from time. You can't accept that but it is not like your opinion matters to him.
The Doctor looked a bit sad when you said that to him. "You always matters to me and I do listen to you but in this case, you know it is the only way."
You wiped your tears furiously. "River said you can't come back...that you will be trapped on the wrong side... We would have never met at all." You whispered with a crack in your voice as more tears falling from your cheeks.
He smiled as he put a hand over your cheek. "Oh, my dearest (name)...I'm sorry...It seemed that I always ended up hurting you..."
You blinked at him in confusion before you realized he was talking about your feeling for him. You tried to smile. "It's alright, Doctor, I know you don't feel the same for me. I'm just glad that you let me stay. Being with you..."
"...is hurting you and yet you stays with me through everything..." The Doctor cut in. He looked at you with a sad look. "I don't deserve you."
You shook your head at that. "Don't say that. It was my choice to stay with you. You show me the wonder of the universe and more. I would always be grateful for that. I love you, Doctor, I'm not sorry that I do and...you shouldn't either. I don't regret you so please don't..." You trailed.
He smiled as he drew you closer and kissed your forehead. "Live a good life, my (name), find your happiness no matter what happen..." He murmured to you.
You left him and told Amy to go to the Doctor.
"People fall out of the world sometimes, but they- they always leave traces, little things you can't quite account for. Nothing is ever forgotten, not completely, and, if something can be remembered, it can come back." You heard him says that to Amy.
River stood by your side. She was staring at the Doctor and Amy with a solemn look. Her eyes are glassy.
"It will be alright. He will come back." You said to her suddenly. You don't know why you said that. Maybe your faith in the Doctor is still strong, making you believe that he will overcome this and you need to share that faith with those who love him as you do.
River looked surprised at your words. She smiled kindly at you and took one of your hand in hers.
The world exploded and rebooted. Everything felt like it was spiraled out of your control. When you come to, you were sitting in your favorite park bench with a book in your hands. You blinked as you tried to shake off the feeling of loss and grief within your heart but you have no idea why you felt like that.
As you stared blankly at space, you heard the wheezing sound of the Tardis. At first, you are confused as you no longer recognized that sound. Then the blue box appeared a few feet away from you and your memory started to return. You dropped your book as you stood up and walked cautiously toward the box.
The Doctor, dressed in a suit and a top hat, walked out of the Tardis. "Come on, (name), we will miss Amy and Rory's wedding." He said.
  "Doctor?" You whispered.
  He smiled brightly at you.
You walked toward him and tentatively touched his arms as if wanting to make sure he is real. Tears filled your eyes once more and you hugged him tight. He hugged you back, rubbed your back in gesture of comfort before he pulled you inside the Tardis.
He explained to you how Amy brought him back just as he predicted. He had just been crashing the Pond's reception and he was trying to move the Tardis out of the ballroom for space. It was then he come back for you.
As you got out of the Tardis and into the ballroom with the Doctor, Amy grinned and pulled you into a hug.  "I'm so glad you are here, (name)." she said.
You smiled at both Amy and Rory. You complimented her. She looked beautiful in her wedding dress. The two of you had a good laugh when you both saw how the Doctor danced a giraffe dance with the kids.
You smiled fondly as you watched Amy and Rory danced together. You are glad that they have got their happy ending.
The Doctor stood beside you with a fond smile. "2000 years. The boy who waited." He said.
You noticed River outside the windows, smiling and then leaving. You told the Doctor that you saw her and the Doctor goes to her, saying something about having to return her diary to her. You watched him go with a somewhat bittersweet smile.
  7777
The Doctor invited you to watch his death in Lake Silencio. How can he be this cruel? Both you and Amy can't cope, seeing his painful death. Rory and River are the ones who still did as the Doctor told, still wanting to complete the mission given to them.
Then a younger version of the Doctor appeared before you screwing your mind even more. River explained it to you and the Ponds regarding the Doctor and the rule of time. She made you and the Ponds swore never to tell the Doctor about his death back in Lake Silencio.
In America, you have another talk with River. She insinuated that the Doctor has feeling for both you and River. But you already know that the Doctor would never pick you so why are you still insist to stay with him? Are you really this foolish? He is stringing you along just like the Dream Lord said. Are you this pathetic that you will let him do that forever?
You made up your mind about leaving the Doctor and the Tardis. It was time you stop waiting for a man who would never love you properly. You felt a bit guilty about leaving the Ponds to deal with the upcoming death of the Doctor but you found you no longer can stand be around him anymore.
You told the Doctor about leaving. He look like a sad kicked puppy much to your guilt. He convinced you to stay until he can give you a proper last hurrah.
Next thing you know, there are two Doctors, one of them is a ganger. You tried to keep your distance from both Doctors. You thought it was the only way for you to leave, stop caring for the Doctor, harden your heart. But you found you couldn't ignore the Doctor especially in the face of death so when the original Doctor decided to let the ganger Doctor stay behind to die, your mind just flashed back into that dreadful day at Lake Silencio and you just 'nope' so bad as you lost your marble and forced the ganger Doctor to come on board of the Tardis.
Of course you know, the ganger Doctor is just that, a ganger but the original Doctor is the one who treated the ganger as something more and now he's just gonna let him die? The Doctor is the one who said a ganger has all their counterpart's memories. The ganger Doctor is essentially the Doctor too, so how can you let him die?
You pleaded like crazy with the ganger Doctor not to sacrifice himself. The ganger Doctor tried to get you to go with the original Doctor, telling you that your Doctor is safe with you but there is no reasoning with you. He eventually relents when you gave him ultimatum to get inside the Tardis or you stay here with him and die together. Deep down, you were yelling at your stupidity but you could only feel relieved when he finally surrender to your wish for him to stay alive.
You heard the Doctor telling all the gangers on board of the Tardis about how the energy inside the time ship will stabilized them and made them a real person. You wondered if the ganger Doctor is a full Time Lord or become a human but you didn't ask, still in somewhat shock state. You wondered what the original Doctor must think of you and how the ganger Doctor will fit in the Tardis. Maybe you messed this up but you could hardly regret the Doctor, any Doctor, for long.
There is no time to concern with the issue of ganger Doctor though when both Doctors finally revealed the truth about Amy being a ganger too.
  7777
After rescuing Amy and losing baby Melody and to finding out River is Melody, you could finally have time to yourself. You wondered if leaving the Doctor is still something you wanted.
River is on board of the Tardis and shamelessly flirted with both Doctors.
You snorted to yourself. What were you thinking? Now that there are two Doctors, one of them will choose you? How stupid you can be? There is part of you who now wonder which Doctor died in that Lake Silencio, the original or the ganger? You wondered if your motive of rescuing ganger Doctor is as shallow as hoping one of them will pick you or as cruel as to have replacement Doctor to face death in Lake Silencio. But it was hardly your problem now. You decided you still have to leave.
That's when the ganger Doctor come to you with his proposition. "Come with me, (name)." He pleaded.
Your mouth dropped open in shock. "W-why?"
He smiled. "I am alive because of you. Is it a wonder I would like to spend the rest of my life with you?"
"B-but..." You wanted to ask him about River but your mind stop you short. That was probably not a nice thing to ask. Of course, River will get to be with the original. The Doctor and River Song in the Tardis. You were always the spare and now it seemed this Doctor is too.
He looked insecure now. "I understand if you didn't want to. I just want a chance to be the man that you deserve."
Without thinking, you pulled him closer and kissed him. As you broke the kiss, he stared at you solemnly before suddenly burst into adorable giggle which in turn make you smile.
  7777
The ganger Doctor switched his name into John Noble. You smiled at his chosen surname in honor of Donna Noble.
You and John traveled the universe every time you can but it was limited due to the limited ability of the vortex manipulator. He was working on making a better and safer version of vortex manipulator though.
You both picked a place to be called home since you both got no Tardis as home-base. He made your dream house, a small cottage with white picket fence and he even got you a dog.
"How did you even get all of this?" You asked.
"I am still technically the Doctor, you know. I have friends in high place." He said as he made a motion with his hands.
You laughed as you hugged your new pet companion. You and John had a funny banter about naming the dog. John insisted that he speaks dog and the dog wanted to be called some silly, really long name.
  7777
You eventually married John. It was hard at first as you were still riddled with insecurity, believing that he will somehow grew tired of you and left on his own. He had assured you many times that he would never abandon you. He murmured about how he can hardly believe that the other Doctor actually let you go with him. You asked him what he is talking about but he distracted you with hug and kisses. You eventually believe him and accepted his marriage proposal.
"I wanted to grow old with you." He told you.
That honestly the nicest thing the Doctor ever said to you, well, technically it wasn't really the Doctor who said it. it was John. Suddenly your mind flashed back into Rose and metacrisis Doctor. Were the two of you similar to them in some way?
You have a happy marriage with John. There were some up and down. He, in some way, is the Doctor so naturally he can't quite cope to stay in one place too long. Sometimes he took you to sightseeing and have your own adventure which thankfully does not include some deathly crisis. Sometimes he goes on his own, those days are hard for you, worrying he will not come back for you.
One day, he returned home injured. He was not alone. Jack Harkness is with him. You were surprised to see him again and really scared upon seeing the injured John. Apparently someone thought John is the Doctor and attempted to kill him. Had it not for Jack, he would have died. Thankfully, his injury is not fatal. In fact, one might say, he is quite lucky. You know John still have some Time Lord qualities in him, he can't regenerate but he has a somewhat rapid healing ability.
Tears fell on your cheeks as you repeatedly punched John in his arms much to his dismay. "You are grounded forever, you jerk!" You yelled.
Jack is amused as he watched your interaction with John before the smile slide off his face. "You two need to hid. The world, right now, is against the Doctor and John having his face will not help his case."
"What do you mean? What happened?" You demanded.
Jack and John exchanged a look with each other.
"It's the Doctor." Jack said grimly. "He did something."
"Did what? What are you talking about?" You asked suddenly feeling scared on top of all the confusion.
"He is not the Doctor we used to know any longer, (name). He's changed. And I didn't mean he regenerated and has a change of personality again. I mean, he's changed." John said.
You stared at John. "You met him?"
John shook his head. "I didn't. But I saw the trail of destruction he left behind." He said grimly.
You stared blankly at your husband. "I'm sorry, did you just say a trail of destruction?"
John and Jack nodded somberly at you.
"No, you're wrong. We are talking about the Doctor here. He is not..."
"You don't know the Doctor as much as you think you do, (name)." John replied.
"But... John, you believe that the Doctor...you are capable of this...??"
"Well..." John laughed harshly. "...we didn't get the name oncoming storm for nothing you know..."
You shook your head. "No. Something must have happened to him. Maybe someone controlled his mind. He would not do whatever it is you think he did." You stubbornly said.
"(name)..." John called out with a sigh.
"No!" You left your husband and Jack as you went into the garden.
You walked back and forth as you tried to come to term with what John had said. You picked up your smartphone and your fingers hovered over the Doctor's Tardis number. You bit your lips and you called him on your phone.
John suddenly pulled your phone out of your hand and smashed it into the ground.
"John, what the hell!!" You were angry but when you saw his expression which is a mixture of anger and fear, you become speechless.
Jack entered the garden and told the both of you to run before the Doctor come for you both.
John nodded grimly as he grabbed his vortex manipulator and sonic screwdriver before turning to you and said, "I know you are afraid, (name) but you have to trust me. Please trust me." He cupped your face as he is pleading for you to believe him.
"I do trust you, John." You replied.
"Then you have to believe me. The Doctor is dangerous. He's a changed. And now we need to run before he came for us."
"He would not hurt us!" You said, almost offended.
John look saddened. "Maybe before. Now, I'm not so sure."
What could possibly happened to the Doctor? You were very curious but also very afraid especially as you watched John loses his cool with each passing moments.
  7777
You went on the run with John. He had used perception filter on the both of you. The people of the whole world is afraid of the Doctor but also they were trying to kill him. Since John had his face and everything, people might targeted him or might try to use him against the Doctor. He does has his memories. He could be a threat but mostly to the Doctor. As you realized this, you are very afraid for John.
While on the run, you started to find out exactly what you feared that the Doctor has somehow turned evil and has set many planet on the course of destruction. You wanted to cry. What happened to the Doctor for him to change this much? John had told you about a prophecy of the Valeyard, a version of the Doctor turned evil, and now it seemed the prophecy is finally here.
You are scared, wondering if your life with John will ever be safe again. There were a few times, people are able to see past the perception filter and that few times almost cost John his life. You almost hated the Doctor for putting you and John in deep end like this.
You and John eventually found a safe place to stay. Each night you hugged him tight, afraid that you will lose him for good.
  7777
You put out the grocery on the table at the small house you and John rented. You thought this day would come and goes as usual (it wasn't good but slightly okay) but of course the universe seemed to conspire against your happiness because as you went into the living room, you saw the Tardis. You gasped, feeling like someone just punch you in the gut.
  "Hello, my dearest (name)."
You slowly turned around to face the Doctor. He was wearing a dark purple suit. His eyes looked weary but he was smiling at you like an old friend. "D-Doctor..."
"You looked good. John has taken a good care of you." He said with approval.
"John, where is he? What did you do to him?" You demanded.
  "John is safe...for now."
You flinched at that. "W-what do you want, Doctor?"
He smiled as he walked toward you. His hand hovered over your cheek before settling to touch your hair instead. "I miss my best friend. Just pop up for a visit."
You are shaking and he noticed it.
He smiled in amusement but his eyes looked sad. "Seemed like you have heard some stories about me then..."
You took a step back away from him. "Please just leave me and John alone."
"I would if I could, dearest (name), but John had to go against me after everything I did for him." The Doctor said with disdain. "Gave him my first face and then he dare to go up against me?"
  "W-what?"
The Doctor hummed. "I guess you didn't know."
  "Know what?"
"That John has been aiding the resistance against me."
You froze. John never told you that. He was always with you most of the time. How can he be aiding the resistance? But then again, part of you are not really surprised. John is the Doctor, after all, at least the part of the Doctor that is good. Is it a wonder that he will try to save the world from his other self? But you also want to slap him silly for putting himself in danger.
"Don't hurt him." You begged. "Please don't hurt him."
The Doctor tiled his head, observing you. "You love him." He sighed. "I guess you do since you left me and married the man."
You flinched again at what he is insinuating. "You had your chance. You choose River. He choose me."
  "I know."
  "Doctor, what happened to you?"
The Doctor laughed harshly. "Life, I guess. I lost the Ponds and I send River to the library a long time ago. Got a new companion. Clara Oswald. That impossible girl. You would have love her, (name), always keeping me on my toes, just like River." He looked sad now. "Always saving me, just like River. She splintered herself, you know, just to save my life. Having to be reborn again and again and died for the Doctor. I saved the original but I lost her again."
"What happened to her?" You asked.
"They took her from me and made it impossible for me to save her. I made them pay for what they did." He said with a faraway look on his face. "I've lost so much." He whispered sadly. "No more." He added grimly before turning his intense gaze on you.
  You flinched under his gaze.
  "Come with me."
  "W-what?"
"I need you, (name). You have always been there for me before. I hurt you so many times, ignoring your feeling for me, taking you for granted...and now I can’t stand be apart from you any longer."
You shook your head. "N-no. I can't be with you. I'm with John now."
He looked sad when you said that and then a darker expression crossed his features. "You are happy with a cheap copy?" He laughed mockingly at you.
You glared at him. "He's not a cheap copy! He is a better man than you are!"
The Doctor laughed again and stopped short. "I know."
You stared at him in confusion with the way he acted. He said something cruel and the next he looked remorseful.
"I would have like for you to come quietly with me. I guess I have no choice." He said as he pulled a sonic screwdriver at you.
You recognized the sonic screwdriver as John's. You felt sudden fear for John. "What did you do? Doctor, what did you do to him?"
He snapped his fingers as the Tardis door suddenly opened. "Go ahead. He's in there."
You were hesitate at first but at the mention of John,  you quickly went inside. You saw John on the Tardis floor, groaning in pain. "John!" You called out as you bend your knees near him. "Are you okay? What's wrong?" Tears started to fell from your cheeks again.
"(name), run..." John whispered at you.
The Doctor went inside the Tardis but remaining standing on the doorway. He gazed at both you and John flatly.
"What did you do to him?" You demanded.
"Oh, I just reverse him. Your husband will turn into a yogurt again soon." The Doctor chuckled cruelly. "Funny that, yogurt..."
"Stop it! Just stop it! What do you want?!" You yelled.
"I told you what I want, (name)."
"What could you possibly want from me? Why are you doing this?"
He hummed. "You were always so loyal to me, (name). Back when I was sand-shoes, he treated you badly and still you stayed throughout his remaining life. You also stayed for me despite having a hard time to accept that I am still the Doctor, despite knowing what River is to me. That's why I allowed you to save him. That's why I allowed you to leave me for him. You deserve better." He said as he moved toward you, kneeling before you and cupped your face. "The first face this face saw... You are very dear to me, (name). I thought I could give you the same thing sand-shoes gave Rose. But now I realized I couldn't just let you go." He sighed. "The Dream Lord is right to warn you, (name), should have run from me. And now, I can't just let you go any longer."
  "Doctor, please...don't do this."
The Doctor released you and stand up moving away from you. "So, I'm going to give you a choice, stay with me and I save your yogurt husband or refused me and well, he's yogurt...but I will still take you with me anyway." He chuckled. "Not much a choice I guess."
You glared hatefully at him. You turned to John in sorrow. "Fine. You win. Save him and I will go with you. But you have to leave him alone. No turning him back into a ganger."
"Deal." The Doctor grinned boyishly at you. You used to love that grin but now all you felt is hollow. He raised a hand toward you.
"Please let me say goodbye to him first."
He rolled his eyes. "Fine. Make it quick."
John groaned as the Doctor sonic-ed him into a stable condition. "(name), what did you do?"
"I'm sorry, I'm really sorry." You whispered to him. "I have to go with him."
John's eyes widened in fear. "No, (name), he is not himself. He is dangerous."
"I know, I have no choice. He will turned you back into a ganger otherwise. Can he really do that?"
John nodded in forlorn. "Unfortunately we are smart enough to do that."
  The Doctor snorted at that.
You glared at him, demanding privacy and to your surprise, he did leave. You turned back to John. "At this rate, you have to become the Doctor that the world needs, John. He told me about the resistance."
"I'm sorry. I was careless. He found out."
You shook your head. "Then you have to be better, John. You have to. You are so much more than him." You said as you caressed his cheek lovingly. "I love you."
John pulled you close and kissed you.
"Alright, that's enough." The Doctor said.
You reluctantly stood up and leave John to stand by the Doctor's side. You glanced at the Doctor. "Give me your words that you will not harm him ever again."
"I promise as long as you stay with me, John Noble will be safe."
You watched as the Doctor moved around the console, readying the Tardis for take off, leaving John behind.

He acted too hard to be like the way it was before, pretending to be the Doctor and his companion traveling the universe, except the universe hates him now. And to you, he was no longer your friend or the man you used to loved. You yearned to be with John but you know you can't.
He started acting like he was John. He took you on a date night, gave you chocolate and flowers. You played along to his whims, dressed in his chosen dress, dance with him and let him kiss you. Thankfully, he didn't demand you to have sex with him. You couldn't cope otherwise. But he made you sleep in the same bed as him in a room he choose to be yours and his now.
He took you out sightseeing so many times. He even took you to a villain gala. You didn't even know that was a thing. You felt sick how the guests of that ball greeted the Doctor as if he is the star of the show or something. It was there you first met Missy. The Doctor introduced her to you and told you that Missy is actually Mistress, another name for the Master. You can hardly believe that the Doctor is actually in a good speaking term with the Master, the man that used to torture the previous Doctor back on the Valiant during the year that never was.
Missy recognized you and predictably mocked you and your situation. You were furious when you learned she is the reason why John got caught by the Doctor. But it's not like you can do anything to her. You were mad and you left the Doctor's side. You refused to be taken to this sort of party. Despite angry at you for disobeying, he agreed not to take you to a villain gala again.
"I meant I know you are always so attached with your pets, Doctor, but this is ridiculous. Sooner or later, you will lose her too, she is only human after all." You heard Missy said to the Doctor.
The dark expression that crossed his feature made you really, really nervous.

You pleaded the Doctor not to force immortality on you but he ignored you.
With the help of Missy, the Doctor got his hand on a drug or some technology that can prolong your life. He insisted to make you immortal just like Jack. He said he didn't want to lose you. He said he won't let anyone take you from him. Honestly, he made you very afraid.
And then he took you to a planet called Trenzalore where he released Gallifrey upon the universe. He didn't care that the planet got burn in the fight between Gallifrey and its enemies. With the help of the Doctor, if you can even called him that anymore, Gallifrey won. The Doctor was given a new set of regeneration as a reward from Rassilion. He thanked him for the reward and then proceed to kill him, proclaiming himself as the new president of Gallifrey.
After getting what he wanted from Gallifrey, he left the planet alone and took you back into the Tardis.
You couldn't believe him. He just do all those cruel things without blinking, not an ounce of remorse in him. Was the Doctor truly lost forever? And this man, he still claimed to be the Doctor, undoing the real Doctor's life work by turning everything upside down and burn down everything good. He found glee in soiling the name 'Doctor'.
And yet what it is with his obsession with you? He never care about you to that point before. Missy eventually explained what being the first face an incarnation saw meant. You finally got what you wanted, a special place in the Doctor's hearts, but why does it has to be like this?
Missy offered you a way to escape but you were suspicious about her intention. "Frankly I don't care whether you stay with the Doctor or not as long as you and him continue to provide me with entertainment. Sure, I could help you escape him without him ever knowing I help you. But you should know, he would never stop searching for you if you do. He would even burn planet after planet just to get to you. It would be fun to watch, well, for me anyway." She said.
How can you tried to escape when the price of freedom is other planet and its people dying because of you? You are not a martyr but even so you are not that selfish. And so you stayed by his side, trying your best to rein him in when possible. You learned he is willing to be merciful in your presence. You took full advantage of it in hope to save some.
You thought of John. He was your only hope. You hope he could somehow save the world but if he can't, you can only hope he will be okay wherever he is. As you thought of your immortality, you couldn't help but cry. You were supposed to grow old with John. You don't even know how many years has passed since last you saw him.

Hope resurfaced within you when you heard news about John being active in resistance, outsmarting the Doctor in his scheme. You only found out because the Doctor lost his marble after being outsmarted by John.
"I should have turn him back into a yogurt..." He said begrudgingly.
You glared at him. "You made a promise to me, don't you dare break it."
"Given the chance, you would have run back to him, wouldn't you? Perhaps I should make sure that you won't have anyone to return to but me." He said with a cruel smirk.
"I am here with you as you wanted. Don't you dare harm John."
"Fine, I won't." He said but the look in his eyes made you suspicious.
"You are not allowed to scheme against him!"
"Oh, my dearest (name), don't you worry about me hurting that yogurt husband of yours. I won't need to lift a finger against him. I know someone who would very much like to do it." He said. "She has always hated my old-self. She would probably have as much fun as me to rile him up. John Noble, the stand-in Doctor."
You realized he was talking about Missy. You froze in fear. "No, make her stop."
"No one can stop Missy once she set her eyes on something. She has always been stubborn especially when it comes to me." He said with a smirk. "But, hey, don't worry, John is basically me, right? He will do fine."
  "I hate you." You said.
  His smirk faltered.
You turned around and left him in the console room.

You were forced to watch another planet he conquered just because of boredom. He proclaimed himself as King and you his Queen. It was all very stupid, in your opinion. He made you wear a stupid crown proclaiming that crowns are cool. When he said that, you just remembered the old Doctor who kept telling everyone how bow-ties or fezzes are cool. It made you miss the Doctor terribly.
This version of the Doctor, once in a while, made you wondered if the old Doctor still resides within him deep inside but then whenever he did, he would started acting up and did something horrible to someone else as if making up for showing weakness.
You were once attacked by a member of resistance. You thought they hope to hurt the Doctor by killing you. But by then, you were already turned as an immortal by the Doctor. The Doctor was so furious and there is nothing you can do to make him show mercy. He lets loose the oncoming storm toward those who conspire against him in retaliation. After that, once you were both at your room, he would hug you tight and won't let go as if he is fearing that you will disappear. It made you think how lonely and sad he must be. You hugged him back.
He tricked you into marrying him, dangling the fate of a planet to do it. "I'm going to give you something that John didn't." You were very confused with what he meant. "I'm going to give you my name."
Your eyes widened in shock. River is the only one who know his name before. Why is he doing this? What was the point? You were very frustrated. "John Noble is the only name that matter to me." You said.
He ignored you, forcing you instead to follow some Gallifreyan ritual.
"Smile for the camera, dearest (name)." The Doctor whispered to you. "I'm sure that yogurt husband of yours is watching us got married live."
You recoiled from him but he made a firm grab of you to keep in position as he finished the ritual.
You heard Missy made a quip about how cruel the Doctor is to you. Well, duh. But apparently, she meant the ritual because the ritual forced a mental bond to form between you and the Doctor. You might be immortal but you were not made for a mental bond.
"She will learn to adapt with it." You heard the Doctor said. "We have forever to do it."
Honestly you hated these mental bond. You have no privacy even in your own mind. He likes to invade your mind and take a look of your memories. You screamed at him to leave you alone. You wanted to cry. You are losing your mind and he know it. Thankfully he relents and left your mind alone for the most part.

One day, while the Doctor is out with Missy, John appeared on board the Tardis and he gave you a small gemstone and told you to hold it close on your person. He said he knew what the Doctor did to you and that gemstone could stop him from invading your mind, blocking him so to speak.
You were happy to see him but also scared. He told you not to worry about him. He said he went back to Gallifrey and now he is as much as a real Time Lord as the Doctor. He said the Doctor can no longer turned him into a ganger so you need not to worry anymore. You can come home with him.
At first you are reluctant, worrying about what Missy had said about the Doctor never stop looking for you if you escape and will burn everything in his path in order to get to you. You are also worry for John himself should the Doctor figure out wherever you escaped to.
But John make a convincing argument and so you took his hand and left the Tardis.
Only to find out John is not real. It was always the Doctor, trying to test your devotion and you failed the test.
"You wanted to see John so much? Fine, I will let you see him." The Doctor said angrily.
The Tardis landed somewhere. The Doctor pulled you harshly outside where he forced you to see a gravestone. John's name is craved on the gravestone.
You were shocked to say the least. With a trembling fingers, you touched the carving of his name on the gravestone.
"I didn't harm him, if that is what your thinking. Missy didn't either. He died. The people he fought for turned against him and killed him."
  "No, you are lying!"
"Am I? You are welcome to investigate his death, (name). You know Jack Harkness, don't you? I'm sure he will help you with your investigation. Once you satisfy your curiosity, come and find me." The Doctor said.
  7777
You were furious. The Doctor didn't lie. They did turned against John. They killed him. The best part of the Doctor, and they thoughtlessly killed him. And now the world is doomed forever with the Doctor that no longer quite the Savior. Frankly, right now you no longer care about the fate of these people.
You walked absentmindedly toward the coordinate of the Tardis which your darling husband helpfully put into your mind.
The Doctor watched you as you entered the Tardis. "Welcome home, (name)."
  "I'm home..." You replied blankly.
