why does the pjo series have to unnecessarily villainize goddesses (hera & athena) or show them as silly ladies (aphrodite & demeter) BUT posiedon and apollo are somehow shown as the coolest/most likeable gods, even though arguably, they're right after zeus on terms of corruption?
ares shown as the worst god after zeus and hera amuses me. last time i checked, he was the patron god of amazons and literally killed a man for attempting to rape his daughter but guess who cursed women for rejection? apollo. guess who raped women when they said no (aside from zeus)? posiedon.

Do you know why she is honored as goddess? Bedridden for a long time due to her incomplete celestial roots... a deity everyone thought could not be saved... Lord Xingzhi came to take to the Extranatural Heaven. And cured her. Therefore, the Divine Realm's Heavenly Lord gave her a title: Luotian Goddess – blessings from the sky. The girl blessed by the [ancient] gods.

You mentioned that Aemond would come to realise how good Lucerys is as a mother to their children because he raises them Targ? What made it click for him??? I really wish we got to see more domestic moments of the two of them and their kids
I do think Luke getting on his dragon hours after giving birth with their child probably should have been the Realisation moment for Aemond but I don't actually think it is.
It's the lullabies.
It's Luke singing to their first born with words that Aemond understands but has never heard. Luke's voice may not be the most beautiful in the world but the fact that he is singing a song that was clearly sung to him by his mother (that had been sung to her by her mother going all the way back to Old Valerya) with such a natural ease that makes Aemond realise that for all his obsession with their family and its history, Luke is going to be the real reason their children will be raised in their heritage.

I honestly can't make up my mind/ don't ship him with anyone which feels weird because he's my favorite character so I feel obligated to ship him with SOMEONE so let me know your thoughts
I AM IGNORING ALL BATCEST.

I'm doing my obligatory near-annual Babylon 5 rewatch and I'm only on S1E8 but holy shit I love this show so much?? I know the first season gets a lot of shit for not being as good as 2-4, and it's a pretty common take that the show needed time to find its footing, but it really only took two-three episodes for this shit to become spectacular. Yes the effects are goofy and so is some of the acting but that's half the charm. I love all of these space lunatics so much. I am ready for this show to destroy me again.
Also, among the things I'm realizing ever more so on this rewatch- the use of "What do you want?" in really sneaky ways, the obvious and amazing anti-fascism and anti-racism coming right off the bat, how human and lovable all these characters (even the evil ones) are, and how the show doesn't sexualize its women nearly as much as every other scifi show of its era (and today). The uniforms and alien women are actually sane, and the one or two times men are creepy they immediately get their asses beat or are severely frowned upon by the plot and those around them. We love Talia and Ivanova, both as a couple and individually. So much. God I love this show.

I do appreciate that it's been a recurring issue and keeps getting brought up as a point of contention so I assume it'll be talked about more later (and no spoilers please);but regarding catti-brie's declaration of the inherent evil of some races like goblins and orcs its really ironic because she's willing to accept a view of grey morality and 'there may be good in our enemies' regarding the netherese empire!!! the woman who stole her to train her and the people who were involved in the oppression of her family/the desai tribes!
and while she is openly conflicted and working through that and i do appreciate that its obviously a weird thing for her to have affection for the people who took her and she acknowledges that- its still so ironic!!! that she doesnt think to apply that to orcs/goblins even when there is evidence and a precedent for peaceful and reasoning members of those species!! im sure this is all part of her personal journey or whatever but i want to shake this fictional woman by the shoulders and go 'what are you saying!!!!!!! think!!!!!!!!!!!!!! dont just let mielikki dictate ur whole opinion!!!!!!1" like wanting to kill obould's successor because he MIGHT Have children who are evil but recognizing 'theres layers to everyone' via the fuckingnnn NETHERESE?? the oppressive empire??thos ones??? girl listen to what u are saying
anyways i am glad that drizzt was like "personally? like for me? if a goddess says to kill childen thats a hard stop" stick to your guns king

I already knew that given her lifespan, Andy saw the North Star change
I wasn't ready for the knowledge that it happened more than once
Polaris (alpha Ursa Minoris, to get technical) became Earth's Pole Star sometime in late antiquity (5th century CE), and before that, from circa 1100 BCE, the Pole was centred closer to two other stars of the Little Bear constellation, Kochab and Pherkad.
And before that, from 3900 BCE to 2500 BCE circa, the Pole Star was Thuban, of the Dragon constellation
(What was happening between 2500 and 1100 BCE? There was a period of back-and-forth in which the celestial North Pole was somewhere between Kochab and Mizar of Ursa Major and then settled on Kochab and Pherkad)
...but Andy had already been around for a millennium when Thuban became the Pole Star.
Which means that when she was born, the Pole Star was TAU HERCULIS
...how many times did the poor woman have to rearrange her points of reference when using the stars to orient herself and travel?

i genuinely think there is so much you can do with the whole concept of “we don’t really know if Leo and Piper were close friends with each other pre-Hera mind meddling.” Like, they probably knew each other for sure, but especially given how absolutely resistant Leo is to being open to Literally Anyone, and how much Leo and Piper were hiding in TLH, they actually probably weren’t super close. Because otherwise they would have told each other, logically.
Can you imagine the dynamic between the Lost Hero trio if that had been acknowledged and played into? How much Piper and Leo would have had to question all of their memories and what was tampered with? Who they actually knew? How close they actually had been with each other, and how they actually felt about Jason? Cause it’s basically never addressed besides a sliver in TLH that they had completely fabricated memories of all three of them! That would have fucked them up so much!

i keep being like “oh i can’t wait for the scanlan angst! and the grog angst! and the vax angst! and the—” before remembering that dnd is nothing if not emotionally devastating to every single character and i shouldn’t expect any of them to be happy ever again.
