I think it is inexplicable how much I am currently invested in the Gavin and reader!sibling headcanon
In the sense that by now I've entered a black hole where I also think about how they would be in the au
Like the reverse au??
I kinda love android!Gavin (GV800? RD800??? idk) and all the relationship between him and human!Nines
But at the same time I can't stop thinking about RD800 that one day shows up at DPD with android!reader and "ah yes, anyway this is my little sibling now"
And reader (at this point I'm assuming RD900) is simply the most akward and weirdest android ever. Like standing there, looking confused half the time, they supposed to be deviant but it doesn't look like they are. Very similar to canon!Connor at the start of the game but even stiffer.
Literally designed to be a war machine, who finds themself brewing coffee and solving murder cases with Human!Connor and Hank
And those times when their co-worker try to have a normal conversation with Reader, the only thing they can think is "I don't know what the fuck I suppose to do" because they hasn't installed any relational or social programs, and they doesn't want to ask for help to android!Gavin because he is worse with this type of things than reader
I just can't explain how i love the scenario
i'm ASVDKDUXNS---

Criminal Analysis Masterlist
Tumblr media
Summary: You never pictured this life for yourself. Never pictured that android cases would start piling up and you'd be assigned to figure out why they were deviating.
You were a forensic psychologist hired by the Detroit Police Department as a consultant. You usually dealt with figuring out what made suspects tick and why they did what they did. You figured it'd be the same thing, as usual, that is until a certain android walked into your crime scene and completely turned your life upside down.

Ruiner, Ruination (RK900 x Reader)
Chapter Three: The Little Mouse and the Metal Machine Part I - The Family Home
Series Masterlist
Chapter Synopsis:
Part one of a two part special that tells the tale of the very first time Reader and Nines were recognized for their exceptional teamwork (under all the wrong circumstances).
In this part, everyone's favorite duo gets summoned to a crime scene after the original investigators present hit a dead end. They have yet to fail any assignment, and have just started to make a name for themselves as a strong team within the DPD. But what will happen when things start to get intense, and the pressure becomes too much to bear, even for a natural detective and her android partner?
AKA: Reader and Nines might be in over their heads for the very first time since their partnership began.
Chapter Content Warnings:
Mentions of blood
Mentions of thirium

Nines was, by all appearances, a relatively cruel and unforgiving man, especially when it came to his work.
He was harsh, menacing, unrelenting, and above all else, condescending no matter the task at hand.
For all of these reasons, not one of your coworkers envied your position as his partner, and they would frequently gossip about how they assumed it was going whenever the two of you went off on an assignment together.
How you managed to work with Nines comfortably no one knew for sure, but even so, no one could deny how great of a team you two made.
And the first time that fact was recognized as the truth was six weeks in, during the Hughes family case, which had started as a simple wellness check after the family daughter, Gwyneth, had been absent from school for over nine days in a row with no word from her parents, Eric and Elizabeth Hughes.
The family had experienced multiple serious losses prior to this, with their son, Logan, having passed away from a seizure just six months prior, followed soon after by twin siblings Charlotte and Hallie, who had passed away while the family was on vacation just two months before Gwyneth stopped showing up for school.
Initially, the DPD had dispatched two on patrol officers to the scene to conduct the wellness check, but when no one had answered the door, they were quick about gaining legal access to the home.
And what they saw inside had caused them quite a bit of alarm.
There was blood everywhere, spattered on the walls of multiple rooms, pooled within the downstairs bathtub, and congealed into puddles on the floor.
But despite all of the blood, the Hughes' were nowhere to be found, not one of them.
A detective had been dispatched to the scene immediately, until forensics noted a distinctive lack of finger prints belonging to anyone save for Eric and Elizabeth at the crime scene. This wasn't always evidence of an android perpetrator, but just to be sure, the DPD had sent an android crimes detective to the scene.
Gavin Reed.
At first, Gavin had determined almost immediately that there was no sign of android involvement, choosing to remain on the scene despite this in order to see how things developed.
But then, forensics, the officers, and the detectives at the scene ended up completely stuck with nowhere to go, no evidence to go off of, and a crime scene that would take weeks to analyze.
That was when you and Nines were called in.
Upon your arrival, you had made a beeline for one of the detectives on the scene, standing there and casually nodding in response to her words as if you didn't have an absolutely huge android standing a few inches behind your right shoulder, his eyes moving from place to place as he slowly took in the crime scene within his line of sight.
At the end of your briefing, everyone had watched as you'd turned to your partner, your head tilted in genuine curiosity as you spoke,
"See anything interesting?"
In response, Nines briefly shifted his gaze towards you for a moment, glaring his trademark glare before he turned his attention back towards the crime scene in front of him,
"I was not created to do your job for you, Detective."
He spoke coolly, and the fellow officers on the scene watched as you rolled your eyes, crossing your arms over your chest as your partner began to walk away from you entirely,
"I meant in terms of thirium traces, Nines, you know, the shit that becomes invisible to the human eye after a few hours."
The android hummed in response to your question, not bothering to turn around to face you even as he spoke up once more,
"I have seen nothing you are unable to detect just as well as I."
You gave a simple nod in response despite the fact that your partner still wasn't looking at you, opening your mouth to speak again as you began to walk towards the closed hallway closet,
"Alright. I'm going to check personal belongings. See if I can find info regarding daily life."
Nines gave another vaguely dismissive, but still responsive hum before you took the final few steps towards the closet, opening it slowly to be met with the familiar sight of hanging coats, unused shoes, and winter gear piled in a corner.
Flicking on the light to get a better view of things, a few bored officers watched as you wrote something down on your notepad before calling out to your partner once more,
"The shoe rack is full. Obviously they could have had more shoes than just these, but there doesn't appear to be any evidence that a pair usually left in here is missing."
"So you don't believe our perpetrator lived within the home?"
Nines asked coolly, his voice clearly much closer than you'd anticipated it to be based on the way you jumped several inches into the air in response to him before shooting a rather menacing glare in his direction, huffing a bit before you spoke,
"I don't definitively believe anything yet, not enough evidence. But it's worth both of us knowing moving forward."
You said, your tone slightly distracted as you began to rifle through the pockets of coats, stopping once a small slip of paper fell out of one of them.
Written on it in vivid blue ink was a phone number with the word "Blue" next to it. You turned to your partner, holding the slip out to him,
"Can you figure out who this number is registered to?"
Nines glanced away from the shoes he had been analyzing to see what you were talking about, not bothering to answer before his LED turned yellow as he attempted to complete your request.
"It is an unregistered number to what is or was likely a burner phone."
He stated simply after a few seconds, and you raised a brow at his statement before replying,
"What does an average, unassuming family who recently moved here from out of state need a contact with a burner phone for?"
You asked aloud, and Nines shrugged in response before moving to give you enough room to maneuver past him,
"Something isn't right here. I'm gonna go check the children's bedrooms."
"There are only two bedrooms in the home according to the floor plan I downloaded before our departure."
Nines replied immediately, and you turned to face him once more, expression more than a bit confused,
"I thought the report stated the family had moved here with four children before losing three shortly thereafter."
You said, and Nines nodded in confirmation,
"The report stated that very fact. It would appear the Hughes' had all four children residing in one shared bedroom."
Sighing softly you shook your head, gaze aimed towards the ground,
"That doesn't sit right with me."
Nines hummed absently, his eyes remaining trained on the closet he was surreptitiously searching through for more overlooked evidence,
"It shouldn't, it is illegal for the children to have resided in such conditions due to their varying genders and ages."
You nodded, looking back to your partner once more before you began to move towards the stairs that would lead you to the bedroom in question,
"Alright Nines, I'm headed up. Let me know if you find anything of significance."
Your partner's gaze briefly flickered toward you, a look of both vague annoyance and vague amusement present as he spoke,
"Don't I always, Detective?"
You rolled your eyes at his words as you began to make your ascent, not even bothering to look back down at him as you replied to his question,
"No."
Those in Nines' direct vicinity have sworn they heard him chuckling at your response as he rifled through the closet for further evidence, although no one was brave enough to say that definitively.
Meanwhile, upstairs, a few nosier officers followed as you made your way to the children's bedroom, eager for the drama they anticipated to find once you arrived at the scene.
You entered the room almost silently, but groaned as you took everything in, your least favorite coworker included.
Gavin was standing beside an open window, blowing smoke out of it as he took his smoke break inside.
If Hank were there, he would've smacked him upside the head and grabbed the cigarette straight from between his lips, but you were far too perturbed with the idea of being that close to Gavin Reed to even consider that.
"Seriously, Reed? You couldn't have taken that outside?"
"It was open."
He stated simply, as if that explained why he was smoking within an active crime scene.
You rolled your eyes
"You are so unbelievably embarrassing."
You scoffed out, crossing your arms as Gavin put out his cigarette on the windowsill, pocketing the remains as he stepped towards you menacingly,
"Oh yeah? Well if I were you I'd be little more careful about what you say to me, Rookie, because in case you've forgotten, this is my crime scene, meaning I'm the one in charge of who stays and who goes."
You scoffed once again, remaining rooted to the floor despite Gavin's advancements,
"And doesn't it make it that much more embarrassing that they had to call my team in? You can't even properly investigate your own crime scene, Detective Douche bag."
Your coworker all but snarled in response, sneering at you as he stepped even closer, now just over a foot away, glaring you down aggressively.
"You've got five seconds to apologize before I kick you and your glorified fucking can opener right off of this case."
He growled out, his eyes ablaze with anger as you simply smirked in response,
"Go ahead and try it, we're here on direct orders of the captain himself. Think he'd be impressed by you interfering with his demands?"
Gavin looked like he was about to explode with rage, and for a minute, you genuinely thought he was going to scream at you before he stepped back, his hands shaking at his sides, but all other signs of anger gone.
You'd heard he'd already been written up once this month for an outburst during an android sex crimes investigation, so it wasn't surprising that he was forcing himself to behave for once.
Sighing at your former partners previous dramatics, you walked further into the room, noting the pristine walls and bed as you did so. Unlike the rest of the house, it was all but spotless in here, with almost no personal belongings in sight.
"Find anything of substance?"
You asked Gavin calmly, watching as the man bristled but answered nonetheless,
"Not really. That bed and the dresser are pretty much the only objects in the whole damn room. That and some empty diary, but we already searched that thoroughly. This place was probably cleaned out."
"Hmm..."
You replied softly, approaching the bed slowly as you did so,
"Do you think whoever could have done that had a good reason to take three beds?"
Gavin looked at you as if you were crazy,
"Why the fuck would they have taken three beds?"
You shrugged, checking the carpet for any signs of flatness from being weighed down for an extended period of time,
"Because, the report says that four children used to live here, but there's only one bed."
Gavin nodded slowly, beginning to understand what you meant, but still clearly unconcerned,
"Well yeah, but the other three kids died, right? Why would they wanna keep their beds in here just taking up space?"
You hummed to show that you were listening, still analyzing the carpet closely,
"That's a fair point, but I can't find any signs of significant pressure. Obviously they could have replaced patches of carpet so you couldn't see the flat spots where the bed posts were, but why would that be a priority of theirs so soon after their children's deaths? It just doesn't make sense to me."
Gavin gave a shrug in response to your words, looking towards the floor as well in order to search for any other signs of wear on it.
It was almost perfectly pristine, in far better condition than any children's bedroom you'd ever witnessed in the past.
Making a note of that in your note pad, you turned around to leave the bedroom, slowly making your way to the master suite that Eric and Elizabeth had shared.
It was an absolute blood bath in there, although significantly less so than the downstairs bathroom you'd glanced into on your way in.
Even still, you shuddered as you entered, noting the fact that the blood was solely present on the bed and the walls surrounding it, but nowhere else throughout the room.
Whoever the victim had been, they had almost assuredly never left that bed.
Well, at least not alive.
The topic of blood identification springing to mind, you opened your mouth to shout for your partner who was still downstairs,
"Hey Nines, can you come lick something for me?!"
You shouted, listening closely for the sound of footfalls on stairs as you waited to see if the android in question felt like answering to your call.
Luckily for you, he was in the mood to humor your request.
Not long after you had called down to him, you heard the telltale sign of nervous murmurs in the hallway, signalling he was on his way to the bedroom. It was always hard to tell with him, since he sometimes chose to tread silently in an effort to remain difficult to locate for whatever reason.
You turned to face the doorway expectantly, watching as your partner rounded the corner without hesitation, barely sparing you a glance as he did so.
"Are you referring to the blood on the walls?"
He asked, his voice low and intentional as he spoke, clearly focused on the mission at hand.
You nodded in response, watching as he approached the taped off area of the bedroom, stepping over the tape there with ease as if it wasn't several feet off of the ground.
Crossing your arms, you leaned against the wall, a few of your fellow officers coming in to watch as Nines took a sample of congealed blood and licked it off of his thin and dexterous fingers.
It was well known that both DPD employed RK model androids had a tendency to go around licking evidence to analyze it forensically, but even still, many of the officers and detectives at the scene had never witnessed such a thing in person before.
It was a strangely sensual looking process.
Nines' tongue slid against his fingers gingerly and with purpose before his LED turned yellow and his eyebrows knitted together as he gathered the results of his analysis.
Said LED went back to it's usual cool blue just seconds later, and he turned towards you, choosing to ignore all of the other professionals within the room as he spoke.
It was rare for him to address his coworkers unless he had to.
"B positive, belonging to Eric Hughes."
You nodded softly, your brows creased in deep thought as you switched your gaze to focus on your partner,
"Thanks, Nines. Have you gotten the chance to test the blood in the downstairs bathroom or kitchen yet?"
The RK900 model in front of you shook his head before he took a step towards the bedroom door, presumably to go downstairs and do just that, before he stopped, kneeling down to get a better look at the carpet between the bed and the door.
Curious as to what he was looking at, you knelt down beside him, watching as his LED circled yellow once more.
"You see something?"
Nines hummed in confirmation, placing his finger on a patch of carpeting beside your foot before he rubbed it in the opposite direction, noting the way that the grain shifted and stayed that way until he repeated the same motion again, this time in reverse, causing the patch he'd tested to look the same way it had before.
He turned his attention back to the carpet in front of him, his LED returning to a solid blue as he spoke,
"The carpet grain here is all facing a different direction than the carpet found anywhere else in the bedroom."
Squinting to get a better look, you nodded slowly in agreement,
"Yeah you're right, it's almost like something was..."
You trailed off as you looked over to your partner with slightly widened eyes, Nines returning your gaze with the same casually bored expression as always, except now his head was tilted at a slight angle, conveying his interest in the case at hand.
"Dragged."
Your partner finished for you, his eyes following the dissimilar path of carpet out the bedroom door and into the hallway towards the stairs,
"And it was no small item if it created such a wide dispersion of weight."
He added, legs straightening as he stood, brushing off imaginary lint from the front of his black pants as he did so.
He looked down at you, and as you met his eyes you stood as well, arms crossing as you considered your evidence thus far.
This case was getting more and more interesting by the second.
Suddenly, Nines turned towards the door once more, careful to avoid the path of disturbed carpet fibers as he made his way out into the hallway.
Your fellow officers noted the way your eyes followed him with interest, but very little to no confusion. Clearly, you had faith he knew what he was doing, whether he told you what that was or not.
Without warning though, multiple officers jumped in surprise as Nines called out to you from the top of the stairs about two and a half yards away.
"I will return shortly, Detective. Please call if you require my assistance."
"Kay!"
You shouted back casually, clearly a bit distracted as you began to circle the room for more evidence, opening the folding closet doors with a soft 'whoosh' of air.
To your surprise though, there wasn't much to be found in there.
Unlike the downstairs closet, which had housed plenty of pairs of shoes and even that strange phone number, this closet barely had anything in it at all save for a couple pairs of pants for each person, a nice dress or two, and some blouses and men's button down shirts.
Writing down a few notes concerning the scarcity of personal belonging within the house and a few potential reasons for that (moving away, robbery, minimalist lifestyle, etc.), you closed the door to the closet before making your way over to the door of the en suite bathroom, the light from which could be seen, yellow and dim, beneath the door frame.
Taking a deep breath, as if afraid of what you might find, you slowly opened the door, shocked at the sight that befell you when you did so.
There was a pristine looking tub, sink, and toilet, all of which gleamed in the harsh yellow light that emanated from the bulb above.
That yellow light, coupled with the various instruments that were simply laying about the sink countertops unsettled you a bit, and you shivered in the somehow denser feeling air of the space.
It smelled vaguely familiar in this bathroom, the scent both mechanical, and sterile in a way that made you almost feel as if you were in some sort of garage rather than a rest room.
On the counter sat a multitude of strange looking tools, most of them sharp and many of them unfamiliar to you. They all shone in the dim light of the room, glinting as the sickly looking light caught them.
It felt strangely dirty in here despite the fact that nothing stood out as particularly gross, although there appeared to be a thin layer of dust on top of the toilet as well as on parts of the floor.
Clearly, this wasn't a frequented space within the home.
You exited the bathroom after a few seconds, deciding to leave it primarily untouched until Nines could get a look at it using both his heightened vision, as well as his scanners.
You left the door to the bathroom open, pausing to listen for any sounds of your partner coming before you decided to step out into the hallway and get a brief look at the parts of it that you hadn't seen yet. Unlike multiple other sections of the house, but similar to the children's bedroom, there wasn't a blood stain of smear to be seen on this portion of the hallway, but even still, you flinched in discomfort as you stepped on a particularly squeaky patch of floor board, sinking down a few centimeters as the house settled beneath you.
Yet another primarily underutilized part of the home. You would have found it strange if not for the nothingness that existed within this portion of the hall, each of the walls blank and barren of any doorways to rooms you had not yet seen.
You briefly wondered why anyone had even bothered building any space past the bedrooms, and made a mental note to ask Nines more about the houses layout when you next had the opportunity.
At that, you turned back towards the bedroom, not surprised to find that the android you had just been thinking about was slowly making his way up the stairs once more.
You met him at the top, leaning your body against the wall as you waited to hear what he'd learned while downstairs.
"The blood in the downstairs bathroom belongs to both Eric and Elizabeth Hughes. What I was able to sample from the kitchen belonged only to Elizabeth."
He stated matter of factly, continuing to make his way towards the bedroom.
You followed close behind, arms crossed as you spoke,
"But still no traces of Gwyneth's blood type?"
You asked, your tone taking on a surprised note at this new revelation.
"None. In fact, there is hardly any sign of her existence within the home at all. I have found none of her DNA while scanning throughout it, and there is only one pair of shoes downstairs that appears to be her size."
Nines replied coolly, turning his body to face you while standing in the doorway of the bedroom.
You nodded slowly as you took in the new information before your mind came up with yet another query for your partner,
"How old is the blood?"
Nines hummed in response to your question, as if appreciating the reminder on the subject,
"Approximately seven to ten days."
You nodded once more, squeezing past your partner to reenter the master bedroom as you spoke,
"So a very similar window to when Gwyneth stopped reporting to school last week."
Nines gave an affirmative hum before he turned to enter the bedroom fully, his entire body stilling as his gaze fell upon the open door to the en suite bathroom, his eyes widening ever so slightly as he took in the sight of it.
"Nines?"
You asked, eyes following his own briefly before they flickered back to his immensely still form,
"Are you alright?"
To most other officers, Nines looked the same as he always did, back straightened, barely moving, eyes hard set on whatever he was taking in,
But to you on the other hand, his behavior was incredibly strange.
Rarely, if ever, did Nines freeze up in the middle of his movements, and never before had you seen him simply stop and stare at something in this manner while working at a crime scene.
Something was wrong, but you were the only one who knew it.
You swallowed nervously, placing a gentle hand on Nines' firm shoulder as your forehead began to crease with worry.
Your fellow officers watched you, slowly catching on to your nervousness and hesitance as you tried to regain the attention of your partner.
"Nines?"
You asked again, worry now clearly evident in your tone as you gave the man beside you a small shake, cursing under your breath when he remained transfixed at the sight of the bathroom, entirely unresponsive to your efforts.
Gaze briefly flickering to your coworkers, you considered your options, and they could almost see the gears turning in your head as you tried to decide what the best course of action was. You knew one thing you could do that would almost certainly bring your partner out of his daze, but how would he feel about his fellow detectives and coworkers knowing about it? How would they view him if it worked?
You shook Nines again, this time with two hands as you stepped in front of him, finding that even disturbing his line of sight while doing so wasn't enough to break his trance.
Sighing, you muttered an apology that no one else heard under your breath, one hand on each of your partner's shoulders as you steeled your resolve, your back straightening and your tone sharpening as you opened your mouth to speak once more,
"RK900."
You said firmly, your tone unfamiliar feeling both within your own mouth, as well as in the ears of your coworkers, who were watching without shame as you made your final attempt at regaining the attention of your android partner.
Thankfully, it worked, just as you had known it would deep down.
Still, it hadn't been what you'd wanted to do. It certainly didn't help the case for Nines' humanity, which was already in question frequently due to the lack of companionship between Nines and the majority of his coworkers.
Your partner's gaze snapped down towards you the moment his model name left your lips, his mouth opening subtly in what almost looked to be surprise as he took in his surroundings once more, his hands clenching and unclenching at his sides.
You looked up at him, eyes searching his as he stared down at you, seemingly unbothered by the firm grip you had on his shoulders as he stood, still unmoving even as his LED changed briefly from blue to yellow before settling on blue once more.
It took you a few moments to understand what he was doing, but once he finally spoke, you figured it out quickly. He had been scanning you.
"I am fine, Detective. My apologies for my lack of response. It appears that my systems were overwhelmed by an influx of data."
Raising an eyebrow at his words, you slowly removed your hands from his shoulders, taking a step away from him with your back facing the open bathroom door.
"An influx of data?"
You asked, watching as your partner nodded quickly in response,
"Correct."
You turned so your gaze was able to flicker both between your partner and the bathroom he was still fixated on, as if trying to figure out what was going on with just your sight alone before you gave up and spoke again,
"What data are you receiving, exactly?"
Nines allowed his eyes to reach yours for a few moments as he searched for the right words to say, his hands finally stilling on either side of him as he answered you,
"There is a great deal of inorganic matter within the en suite bathroom. I am unsure of how I missed it last time, but it is impossible not to detect when I am looking at it."
"What kind of fucking inorganic matter are you talking about, plastic prick?"
Gavin's voice called out from the other side of the doorway, and you had to stop yourself from glaring at him as he entered the room, arms crossed and mouth twisted into a sneer.
You turned to better face him, eyes briefly meeting those of the android in front of you before you spoke,
"Thirium, Detective Reed. Nines just found a shit ton of blue blood."
Silence filled the room as your words and their meaning slowly began to take hold.
Sure people had been curious of android involvement due to the lack of forensic evidence at the scene, but no one had considered the idea of said android involvement including androids as potential victims.
This case just got infinitely more confusing.
Suddenly, as if having regained all of his motor functions at the same time, Nines strode forward confidently, his eyes moving about the room as he conducted scan after scan of the thirium that was spattered across the walls, floor, and bath tub, the last of which was particularly covered in it, letting him know that it had likely been used to bleed androids.
It felt eerily similar to the bathroom scene downstairs, but this time, he was the only one who could see it, and absolutely nothing about it was human.
There was not a trace of human blood within this bathroom, not even on the sharp edges of the tools, which sat clean and pristine on the counter of the sink.
It was clear based upon his analysis of the room that it's primary use had been for bleeding out and likely torturing androids, but that was not what Nines found to be the most interesting.
What was were the model numbers he was seeing as he performed a more in depth scan of the area. He couldn't say anything definitive, as all of the blue blood was far too dry to test using his superior tongue sensors, but...
He found himself pulling up two different android models as he performed his advanced ocular scans, both of which were adolescent models, and one of which consisted of two different android serial numbers.
Three androids had been mutilated within this bathroom, they were all children models, and two of the androids had been the exact same model, absolutely identical to one another in every way, with the relative age of the thirium they had lost being only several hours different from one another. Three months ago, and several hours apart.
And the other sample he scanned that belonged to an older, male adolescent model?
Six months old.
When Nines told you this, he watched as the understanding settled on your features, alongside the horror of what had likely been going on here. He would never admit it, but it almost made him wish he hadn't told you at all. You looked so desperately unsettled that he wanted to recommend you take a seat before he noted the presence of others within the room and kept his mouth shut. The last thing you needed was mockery from Reed pertaining to your aversion towards the information associated with the case.
"So their children..."
You began quietly, the room absolutely silent save for the sound of your voice,
"They were androids the entire time? Androids who they enrolled in school, created fake records for, and moved to Michigan with... Why?"
Nines shrugged in response to your question, but opened his mouth to elaborate,
"I would assume based upon the amount of dried thirium present and the rouse that was being utilized that this was a sort of fantasy for the two of them. Getting away with killing what the public perceived as real children. That is the only reason I can think of, I'm not sure why else they would do this, as it creates the issue of fake birth and death records, both of which were realistic enough to get past the DPD's file legitimacy systems."
Your face paled as your partner spoke, and you almost wanted to leave the room for a moment to get away from the strong sterile yet mechanical scent that wafted out of the bathroom. You supposed that it made a lot more sense now that you knew, but it also made you feel infinitely more ill.
You steeled your resolve before nodding up at Nines in response to his theory, opening your mouth to speak when he suddenly interrupted you.
"I don't see any purpose in dwelling within this space. I have nothing more to gain from scanning the bathroom, nor the bedroom. Would you mind coming with me to further inspect the children's room, Detective? I have yet to see it."
You almost gaped up at Nines as he spoke, wondering if he was being genuine, or if he was able to tell how desperately you wanted to leave this space.
Either way, you weren't going to argue at the opportunity to head elsewhere, so you promptly nodded your head in response before quickly exiting the master bedroom, fighting the urge to shut the door behind you as you led your partner slightly up the hall and back into the room on the other side of the stairs.
The emptiness of this room was both unsettling and appealing to you as you entered, fighting the urge to take a seat on the uncomfortable looking bed. You turned to your partner.
For the moment, the two of you were alone in the room with no officers to watch as you sighed and ran your hands through your hair, leaving both of them atop your head for a moment as you struggled to regain focus on the task at hand.
This case was supposed to be easy, come in, let Nines scan some things to prove that androids hadn't been involved, and then head back to the station for an early night off. No big deal.
But now things were far more complicated than you ever could have imagined.
Now there were both android and human victims involved in this case, and truthfully you weren't sure if you and your partner could trust the only other android crimes detective on the scene to be fair with his assumptions about the most likely violently mutilated androids who had suffered within these walls.
If you didn't stay, this case would almost assuredly either go unsolved, or end with the android involvement being written off as android on human violence that had gone wrong for both parties.
You couldn't let that happen, not if you wanted to be able to look someone in the eye and call yourself a detective.
You were just about to vocalize these feelings of yours, when suddenly Nines spoke instead,
"I know you do not want to leave, Detective."
His voice was calm and collected as he spoke, his eyes all but burning into your own as he reassured you as best he could,
"Furthermore, I have no intentions of asking you to do so. But I have to suggest that you take a moment before considering the evidence further. It would be rash for you to try to pursue this case with an unstable mind."
You wanted to argue, wanted to tell him that you were fine, but you could feel your heart in your throat, fast and intense, and you knew without asking that he could see it just as easily as you could feel it. Lying to Nines would get you nowhere but dragged back to the station for being irrational, and you knew that wasn't what you wanted, nor did it seem to be what your partner wanted either.
Both of you had every intention of seeing this case through to the very end, no matter how hard it got to imagine the pain endured within the walls that made up this home.
Sighing, you sat on the ground in front of the open window Gavin had smoked at earlier, the scent of nicotine and tobacco already stuck to the flowery wallpaper that adorned the walls in a way that made you nauseous.
You leaned your head backward, trying to ignore how uncomfortable you were as you took a few deep breaths, your eyes moving from place to place until they finally landed on Nines, who watched you for a moment before he knelt before your seated form, his expression unreadable.
You both remained that way for a few minutes, just looking at each other before finally, you leaned forward and opened your mouth to speak,
"I meant to ask this earlier,"
You began, watching as Nines continued to give you his undivided attention, clearly displaying interest in your words as you slowly worked out what you were going to say,
"But I was wondering if you could tell me how old this house is."
Nines nodded after a few moments of thought, his LED blinking yellow for a brief period before he spoke,
"It was built approximately 68 years ago, and has had five owners since that time, including the Hughes'."
You nodded as you took in the information your partner was sharing, allowing yourself a few more moments of thought before continuing with your question,
"And how old is the floor plan you downloaded once we received the case info?"
Nines answered immediately, knowing the answer to your question without having to seek out any additional information,
"It is twenty years old, as that is the most recent floor plan available. Would you like me to download some of the earlier floor plans and architectural blueprints for the home?"
You nodded in the affirmative, thanking your partner before you stood once more, trying to ignore the officers that has begun to crowd the hallway, watching the two of you work to solve the case as if they didn't have anything better to do but hope for new and dramatic advancements in it.
There was relative silence save for the sound of shuffling feet and shifted objects as Nines searched various Detroit databases for older floor plans of the house, eyes following you even as you began to move around what little there was in the bedroom in an effort to gain new information. In the back of your mind you knew that your partner had probably already scanned the space for any possible pieces of evidence, and that that was the most likely reason he wasn't searching with you while seeking out the database in the background, but even still you pressed forward, trying to keep yourself busy in an effort to ignore the almost too surreal world around you.
No matter how many crimes scenes you worked on, it never got any easier to learn that people had not only been murdered, but tortured as well. It was a harsh and cruel way to die, one that you found yourself growing more and more disturbed by with each homicide case you worked.
"Detective, I have located the earliest floor plans available pertaining to this particular address. It appears that everything has remained consistent save for the apparent closing off of an unsafe attic that did not meed code standards, as well as the closing off of a dark room beneath a hollow floor at the end of this hallway. It was filled in to the point of uselessness thirty years ago and load bearing columns were installed on the first floor to assist the structure of the home in a superior manner."
You hummed curiously in response, glad to hear that you were at least correct about the strange length of hallway present on the second floor. The existence of a dark room gave that meaning, as did the attic entrance that Nines had mentioned was closed off. Both things had likely required an extension of the hallway that was unnecessary otherwise.
"Thank you for checking."
You said after a few more moments of thought, watching as your partner nodded in response, standing up from his still knelt down position in order to walk over to the dresser, which sat across from the one and only bed in the entire room.
Well, at least that made a lot more sense now, as did the single room for four children. Android's didn't need a bed to sleep in, just a safe place to reside to go into rest mode or stasis. It also explained the lack of children's toys and other personal belongings that you'd noted the absence of earlier. But even still, it didn't explain the missing little girl, Gwyneth, nor did it give you any information regarding the probable death and physical disappearance of her adoptive parent's bodies.
You had to be missing something...
And Nines was the one who found it.
Just seconds after your internal lamentation regarding your lack of understanding, your partner picked up the diary Gavin had mentioned was blank earlier, opening it as if to quickly flip through only to stop immediately, his brows furrowing as his LED cycled yellow once again.
"Nines?"
You asked curiously, taking a few steps towards him as he began to turn the pages one by one, until finally, he stopped, meeting your gaze once more,
"This is Gwyneth's diary."
You raised a brow at his certainty, confused by how he possibly could have known that.
"What makes you think it's hers? Gavin told me earlier it's completely blank, meaning we have no way or knowing who it belonged to."
Nines shook his head at your words, his mouth curling into that familiar haughty grin as his gaze burned into yours, pride evident in his tone as he began to clarify why he was so certain he was correct,
"It is blank for yourself and Detective Reed, Little Mouse, but not for me."

Sweet Revenge Kisses
Tumblr media
Fandom: Detroit Become Human
RK800 Connor x Reader
By: @pusantheamazonian                 not beta’d
So I finally spewed out something containing the precious Connor. Maybe do a part 2 but IDK.
Summary: Reader gets into fight with Gavin leading to some kissing with Connor.
Making it past the ST300’s upfront. You head directly to the break room, carrying the heavy Tupperware container. You thought it might be a nice gesture for the Detroit Police Department.
Placing the container filled with cookies on the counter. You take the two special containers out of your purse before heading towards the desks. Smiling you place the individual containers on Hank and Gavin's desk. Hank has always been your favorite, so you make sure that he always gets something extra. Not noticing the stare coming from the other side of Hank's desk while you're there.
“Hello. I'm Connor, can I help you?” A soft affirmative voice says. Turning you place the voice to an android standing beside you. You recognize him from the news. He's been helping out with the android rights group. And apparently the one Gavin keeps shit talking about.
“Hi. No thanks I'm okay.” Responding you see his LED light whirl yellow. Before you can respond further an arm wraps around your shoulders pulling you into a hug.
“Hey kiddo what brings you here?” Hank's gruff voice makes you smile.
“Hi Hank. I'm just waiting for Gavin to appear. He hasn't answered any of my messages.”
“Detective Reed has been working a case all night. He maybe sleeping or getting coffee.” Connor informs.
“Figures, the jerk has been dodging me all week. He's afraid of what I have planned.” Frowning you're salty about his excuses.
“Planned?” Connor questions, it's obvious that he is still learning slang.
“It's his birthday next week. I usually do something weird to him on his birthday.” Clarifying yourself.
“Last year she saran wrapped all of his doors.” Hank chuckles setting his coffee down so he can open his box of cookies.
“This year I plan on rigging his desk drawer to shoot confetti.” You make the motions with your hands, demonstrating how much confetti you actually plan to use.
“You met Connor?” Hank nods at the android you been talking to.
“Just now.” You give Hank slightly suspicious look. It’s been a few weeks since you’ve seen him and he seems….different. “You're here early and you look healthy... Awe Hank don't tell me you’ve become a sober freak. What am I going to get you for Christmas?” With an over exaggerated sigh you let him know you're just teasing.
“Nah only cutting back because of this one’s nagging.” He points at Connor.
“If his nagging is what's keeping you healthy. I'm supporting Connor.”
“Don't encourage him. Connor this hell sprite is Y/N, Gavin’s little sister.” Hank grumbles taking a sip.
“Detective Reed's sister?” There’s a lag in his response. You guess he’s probably questioning how much of an asshole you are.
“Don't worry she's not an asshole. Definitely the better one, she calls out all his bullshit.” Hank states.
“I see that you found the old drunk and his plastic wife.” Gavin says sarcastically walking up behind you. Hank and Connor both become annoyed, evident in their posture.
“Gavin don't be rude.” You hit his chest hard as a reprimand.
“I should have you arrested for assaulting a police officer.” Gavin scoffs.
“Go ahead. I’ll claim self defense and put these two down as witnesses. Besides I don't think Captain Fowler will believe those charges.” Feeling cocky you challenge his statement.
“Whatever the two are useless. The android is just a waste of space. Could have been used for better things.”
“Oh my god Gavin shut up! Or I will fuck him right here right now so you will shut up. You can't hate all androids.” You are so tired of this argument.
“What?” Connor questions as Hank chokes on his coffee.
“What the fuck?” Gavin's face scrunches up in disgust.
“Don't dodge the subject. You haven't responded to me all week.”
“Woah woah hit the brakes. You're the one changing topics. What do you mean fuck him here and now?”
“Hhmmm?” Humming you await his response.
“She’s on a roll. Connor you might wanna back up. She's saying things and not remembering.” Hank gestures to his desk.
“No go ahead, what are you going to do of if I don't stop treating them for what they are?” Gavin steps closer.
“I’m got to- You know what.” Stopping yourself, you rashly turn around and grab Connor by the tie. Jerking him down into a one sided kiss, long enough for Gavin to pull you backwards. Connor’s lips feel like good bubble gum. The kind that gets to a perfect soft, chewy level before turning hard.
“That escalated quickly.” Hank mumbles.
“Y/N!” He has a tight grip on your wrist.
“Let go Gavin! Just because of your personal reasons doesn't mean you can be an asshole.” Yelling at Gavin you don’t see the other officers. All of which look to see what’s going on then to walk away because this is a normal thing for you two.
“He's an android.” He points at Connor.
“Who can think for himself and is a whole of a lot nicer than you.” Ripping your arm away you storm out. Gavin glares at you before turning to Connor.
“Don't think about it.” Hank steps in front of Connor. “You might wanna go after her before she really is arrested.” Redirecting Gavin, he angrily walks away.
“What...what just happened?” Connor stutters, a blue blush forming.
“Well Connor you were just used as a tactical move in a never ending sibling war. Score one for Y/N.” Hank guides Connor to his chair.
~
Still slightly aggravated from yesterday. Gavin irritated you so much you flew off the handle. You know you're in the wrong and Connor deserves better. Full of embarrassment you walk directly to Connor’s desk, and wait for him to acknowledge you.
“Hello Y/N. Here to see Detective Reed?” Connor barely responds, still shook from yesterday.
“Umm no, actually I came to apologize to you.”
“Apologize?” You can see the surprise in his eyes.
“I'm sorry for suddenly kissing you yesterday. It was rude of me to jump you like that. I-It's just that Gavin makes me so mad sometimes I just wanna strangle him. And I end up doing rash things.” Reaching into your basket you pull out a small personal sized cake. “I made you a Thirium based cake as a peace offering. I don't know if you do eat food but I made it anyway.”
“Thank you Y/N.” He takes the cake, admiring the handy work. A circular chocolate cake with light blue icing. “Would you like to go out for coffee?”
“Huh?”
“Its just … I liked it when you kissed me. Just like in the rom-com movies Hank watches. The two people are put into a predicament then go on a date.”  Connor sets the cake down and stands up. Out the corner of your eye you see Hank blushing.
“S-sure. That sounds nice.” You're totally surprised. You had expected him to maybe accept your apology with the expressed hint not to ever come near him again but not this.
“You know you could also just make out every time your brother is around.” Hank smirks.
“I'd like that.” Connor smiles.
“Maybe, how about we start with that date first. I can show you things that really annoy Gavin.” You didn't realize that Connor was going to be this blunt.
“You wouldn't dare.” Gavin voice comes from behind.
“Oh I would.” An evil twinkle in your eye you grab Connor’s hand and lead him towards the door. Leading a stunned Connor away from Gavin’s furious glare and Hank’s laughter. Connor may need to rethink how rashly you make decisions.

30 day Whump Challenge prompts (2) Hunger
Fandom: Detroit: Become Human
Pairing: None (Sibling-like dynamic)
Summary: Connor notices the reader isn’t eating as much as they should and they’re struggling. It takes passing out and almost dying for the reader to understand it’s unhealthy.
Warnings: Major talk of an Eating Disorder; Please take caution reading this, and know if you need to talk, there are both professionals and people like myself who are willing to talk if you need to <3 stay safe
This account of an Eating Disorder is based off of things I have personally experienced. I hope as the reader, you can either relate or find comfort in this. My DM’s are always open if any of you need a safe place to talk.
Tumblr media
Closing the bathroom door behind you, you place your shaky hands on the counter. You glance up at your reflection, and grimace. You were pale, and your face looked gaunt, but the same time, you saw something else. Someone else.
Her face was round, and her shoulders stuck out too far. Her stomach poked out over her jeans, and her arms shook with every movement. You sigh a little. That’s the reflection you were used to, and you’d been trying to change it for years. You finally buckled down 3 months ago.
It began with just limiting your calories. Soon after, it reached your carbs, sugars, and most things people would crave suddenly seemed repulsive to you.
The scale said you’d lost over 20 lbs (approximately 9 kilos), but that couldn’t be right. There wasn’t a dent in the disgusting creature you saw in the mirror.
You splash water on your face, and it grounds you again. You were somewhat dizzy, which you assumed may have been due to what you’d been doing. You hadn’t been eating much, if anything at all.
Opening the door back into the police station, you glance around before hastily making your way into the little break room. You look up, and realize all of the mugs are on the top shelf. “Of fucking course..” Grumbling, you attempt to grab one, but they’re just out of reach.
“Allow me,” A calm voice cuts through the still atmosphere, and you jump, turning around. Connor stands behind you, and he seems to smile at you a little, before taking a mug, and holding it out to you.
You swallow thickly. As much as you liked the android, you didn’t want him to see through you. Taking the mug, you quickly put it into the machine. As it fills with coffee, you throw a small smile over your shoulder. “Thank-” you take a breath. “Thank you.”
He studies you for a moment, before leaning in and whispers lowly, “Eat something soon, your nutrients are dangerously low.” You freeze, and nod a tiny bit, and he seems satisfied.
As he turns, you let out a small breath. You couldn’t. Even if you wanted to now, you wouldn’t be able to. It had been over 2 weeks without a meal or snack of any sorts, and you were afraid if you would eat, it would only come back up.
Tears prick the corners of your eyes as you pick up your mug. “Hey,” Gavin grabs your waist from behind, and you jump, before glaring at him angrily.
“I really don’t need this today, Reed.” You wouldn’t normally talk back to him, as he wasn’t worth your time, but your body hurt, and your temper was short.
“Excuse me? What was that? The bitch wants to fuck with me today, huh?” His voice lowered an octave, and you turn on your heel, and pace back to your desk, Gavin following close behind you.
“Has anyone figured it out yet, pig?” He chuckles, and you bite the inside of your cheek.
“Fuck off, Reed.” Hit with a wave of dizziness, you grab the desk, your mug falling to the floor in your attempt to save yourself. Ears ringing, you swallow thickly, trying to clear them.
You could distantly hear both Connor’s and Hank’s voice through the ringing, and everything starts to go black.
.
.
.
Groaning, your eyes fight to open against the harsh lighting of the room you’re in now. The smell hits your nose-
You were in a hospital.
A wave of panic surges over you, and you bolt upright. As the ringing subsides, you can hear a gentle voice cut through. “Y/n?” Connor..? What was he doing here? How did you get here?
Your gaze meets his, and a wave of embarrassment washes over you. “Fuck.. Oh jesus-” You let out a small sob, and hide your face as the tears spill. “I’m sorry- I’m so- I’m so sorry- Fuck-”
Connor takes your hand, and smiles a little. “Hey, look at me, please?” You slowly look up at him, uncovering your face. “You’re ok, it’s all ok.” His voice was calm, and showed something you didn’t think Connor had; emotion.
“I’m not sure why you treated your body so poorly, I’m still new to emotions, and I’m still learning how humans work. The doctors and my diagnostics program have realized that you have something called an Eating Disorder.”
You bite your lip, tears still spilling. “I didn’t-” You begin, sniffling. “I didn’t mean for this to happen-”
He takes your hand. “I know; I’ll be here with you once you’re released, and Hank and I agreed it may be best if you live with one of us. So, with your permission of course,” He stops, and messes with his cyberlife tie.
“I’d like to invite you to live with me. I won’t overstep any of your boundaries, I just want to help you get better. You were the first person on the force to treat me like I’m not just a machine.”
He smiles gently at you, a true, genuine smile. “I would like to be friends with you, and as your friend, help you through this.”
You nod, before softly speaking. “Can- um- Am I allowed to hug you?”
He laughs a little, before pulling you into one. “Of course.”
// I love whump too much; And this is not a pairing or a Connor x reader, this is more so a friendship/sibling bond than anything. My whump so far isn’t much, but I have a feeling as we go further into the challenge, it’s gonna be a lot more heart wrenching.

Finding Home Gavin Reed x Reader
Chapter 20
Masterlist
Hey, come over to my apartment when you get off?
have to feed cats then ill be over, probs an hour
 Works for me
 warning im exhausted
When are you not? Besides I only date you for the cuddles anyway.
 rude but fair
I sighed, laying on my couch. My apartment was becoming less dull, but it still needed some work. It was Wednesday evening and I had already prepped for my class tomorrow. After the previous night with my dad and Connor I were feeling a lot better. I hadn’t been able to see Gavin yesterday, he was at the DPD until 4 am. He even had to have Tina stop by his house to feed his cats. I was excited to tell him about how talking to my dad went. I was also looking forward to telling him about my class.
I was scrolling through my phone when finally, Gavin knocked on my door. I jumped up and let him in. He dramatically walked in and flopped himself down on my couch.
“Well, hello to you too.” I said closing the door and looking back at him. He’d already closed his eyes. I walked over and made him move his feet. “Long day?”
“Too long. Nines is on my case about my paperwork. I always get it done like Jesus, he's not my boss. He needs to lay off.” He mumbled. He wiped his eyes and sat up. “Sorry. How was your class yesterday?”
“It was good, and be nice to Nines, he’s just doing his job.” I gently brushed his hair out of his face and smiled. “I’m excited for my class tomorrow. We’re finally getting into the real class work and not the b.s. syllabus day crap.”
“How did talking with your dad go?” He leaned into my hand.
“Better than I expected. I’m pretty sure without Connor’s help we still wouldn’t be talking. I want the four of us to get dinner soon.” He groaned and laid back down, putting his legs back on my lap. “Hey, come on.” He sighed.
“Tin Can can’t even eat, (Y/n). Why would we go to dinner?”
“Connor.” He sighed.
“I don’t want to do this right now, I’m tired.”
“Then call him Connor and not ‘tin can.’” I replied gently.
“Slipped my mind.” He mumbled.
“Slipped your mind to treat Connor with respect?”
“(Y/n), I call Nines the same thing.”
“That doesn’t make it okay, Gavin.”
“Neither of them have complained. They can stand up for themselves if they want.”
“Just because they haven’t said anything about it doesn’t mean it’s automatically okay, Gavin.”
“They’re big robots, let them stand up for themselves.” I moved Gavin’s legs off my lap and got up. I started pacing and biting the skin of my thumb. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Gavin watching me pace. “(Y/n), it’s not a big- “
“You better not say it’s not a big deal!” I snapped, finally turning to face him and pulling my hand away from my mouth to jab my finger accusingly at him. “Connor has been nothing but kind to me since I’ve come back to Detroit! He has defended you to my dad and spoken up for you!” I started walking towards my kitchen. I needed to do something with my hands, so I started putting away clean dishes. Just anything to keep my hands busy.
“It’s like a playful nickname, (Y/n)!” Gavin yelled as he followed me.
“No! Gavin it’s not! You call him tin can, plastic detective, plastic prick, and probably more I haven’t heard! It’s rude and horrible! Those are not playful, and you know it!” I whipped around and looked at him. He rolled his eyes and ran a hand through his hair.
“Why does it matter? He’s not even here!”
“It matters because he’s practically my family, Gavin! I care about him and I don’t want to listen to you make fun of him!”
“Oh my god, you’re being way too dramatic! Calling him Tin Can is not making fun of him! You’re the one who asked me to come over, you knew I would be exhausted! Why do you want to pick a fight?”
“I’m not picking a fight!”
“Jesus Christ (Y/n)! What do you think is happening right now? You are picking a fight over the smallest thing right now! What the fuck happened to you that makes you defend androids so fucking much!” Taken back by his words I took a step back and folded my arms over my chest.
“I’d like you to leave now.” I whispered.
“(Y/n), come on.” He took a step towards me and I took one back.
“I need you to leave.” I raised my voice and glared at him.
“Fine.” He said, throwing his hands up. He slammed the door shut behind him. I took a shaky breath, attempting to calm myself down.
It took thirty minutes of pacing around my living room stewing in my anger for it to dissipate. I finally laid down on my couch, grabbing my phone. No new notifications. Good. It's not like I wanted Gavin to text me anyway. I opened messenger anyway, I'd been alone all day and now I only wanted one androids company.
 Are you busy?
 No. Why?
 Can you come over?
I can be there in 11 and a half minutes.
I exhaled and put my phone on the coffee table, and covered my face with my hands, scrubbing off all the residual ick of volatile emotions. I closed my eyes and thought about what I said. Maybe I shouldn’t have gotten so mad, but Connor was becoming an important person in my life and I didn’t want to listen to Gavin patronize him. What even was my relationship with Connor? He didn’t mind when I said ‘dad’ instead of ‘my dad.’ Would he mind if I called him my brother? Should I even ask? Connor was new at this whole emotion thing and trying to figure out family dynamics couldn’t be easy.
There was a light knock at my door. I got up and opened it and let Connor in. He smiled gently.
“Is Gavin here?”
“He was, why?”
“His jeep is in the parking lot.” I told him to leave. Why was he still here? If he thought I was going to come down there and apologize to him, he was sorely mistaken.
“How do you know it’s his, Connor?”
“The license plate number.” I laughed and sat back on the couch. Connor smiled and sat down. “Are you okay?” I sighed.
“No, but I’m getting there. Connor, I want to ask you something and I want you to be 100 percent honest, okay?”
“Okay.”
“Would you be comfortable if I referred to you as my brother?” He froze and his LED spun red. “If that makes you uncomfortable or if you just don’t like it then I don’t have to. I just wanted to ask.” I spit out as quickly as I could.
“Could I call you my sister?” He asked quietly. I smiled widely.
“Of course, being siblings is a two-way street.” I bumped my shoulder into his.
“Why ask me now?” He looked at me softly.
“Well…to be honest me and Gavin got in a fight. He called you ‘Tin Can,’ and I got mad. I said that you were practically my family and that’s true, Connor. You’re basically dad’s son. He cares about you a lot and I care about you too.” He nodded, his LED still spinning red. “Are you okay?”
“Yes.”
“Do you want to talk about it?” I asked softly. He paused for a moment.
“I’m trying to come up with the right words, (Y/n). I am honored you see me as a brother and to be honest I also view you and Hank as family. However, I worry that I may be overstepping my bounds. I’m not trying to replace Cole.” I put my hand on his shoulder.
“Connor, neither of us expect you to replace Cole. You can be a son and a brother without replacing Cole. I think Cole would be happy with how much you’ve done for dad. He’s not an easy person to get along with, but somehow, you’ve managed to get close to him and help him. He cares about you, Connor. You shouldn’t feel guilty about that.” He nodded; his LED turned yellow and finally back to blue.
“You’re really okay with me calling you my sister?”
“I wouldn’t have asked if I wasn’t.” He smiled at me.
“I’m sorry, you and Gavin got into a fight because of me.”
“Don’t. I’m not going to let Gavin make fun of you, Nines, or any other android.” Suddenly there was a knock on my door. I groaned, having very little doubt that it was Gavin. I glanced at Connor who was looking at the door. Sighing, I got up and opened my door. My suspicions were confirmed. “Were your ears burning? What do you want?”
“Can I come in?”
“Why are you still here? I asked you to leave.”
“(Y/n), can I please come in so we can talk about this.”
“I don’t know. Are you going to be mean to Connor? Or perhaps you want to insult me instead. Let’s see you can still go after my anxiety, my lack of friends, or you haven’t insulted my dad today! Want to take your pick?”
“(Y/n) …” Connor spoke behind me. I turned around and sighed. Moving to let Gavin into my apartment.
“Hey, Connor.” Gavin said. I was surprised to see Connor glaring at Gavin, he normally seemed happy go lucky. I wondered if he was trying to protect me from getting hurt again by Gavin.
“Detective Reed.” He responded curtly. I sat back down next to Connor and crossed my arms.
There was a tense silence for a moment, before Gavin, who was staring at the floor, sighed and muttered ‘okay’ under his breath and then looked up at me. “I’m sorry, (Y/n). I’m just tired and things slip sometimes. I have been getting better about that shit ask Connor.” I dragged my eyes away from Gavin and looked over at Connor. For a moment he sat there not saying anything and finally he sighed and responded.
“The daily insults have decreased.” Connor agreed begrudgingly. I sighed.
“Gavin, you have to get better about that. Connor is my family and I’m not going to be with someone who doesn’t treat him with respect.” Gavin sighed.
“I’m trying, but it takes time. I’m going to slip up and I’m sorry. I promise I’m trying to get better.” I looked at Connor and he nodded. “Shit, do you guys have some kind of telepathic thing going on now?” I laughed.
“No, Gavin.” I looked at him and sighed. “I know you’re trying, but just…let me correct you without getting defensive, okay?” He nodded and scratched the back of his neck.
“Yeah, you’re right.” Gavin looked to the ground and scratched the back of his neck. “Uhhh, sorry about all the insults Connor.”
“Apology accepted.”
“Do you guys wanna watch a movie?” I smiled at Gavin’s question and looked at Connor.
“We still have Muppet Treasure Island left to watch.” Connor suggested. I laughed and Gavin groaned.
We all squeezed on to my small couch. I was squashed between the two men in front of the tv. Gavin had his arm resting on my shoulder and Connor was fidgeting with his coin, but kept his eyes locked on the movie. It was relaxing. I hoped we’d have more moments like this.

The drive to Kamski’s villa was long and uncomfortable. Nines was curious why you were taking him to the outskirts of Detroit, but his pride got in the way of asking. When he did swallow his pride, your answers were vague and cryptic.
Although the drive was long, the scenery was absolutely beautiful. It was late summer, but here it look like autumn was in full swing. Most of the trees already had their leaves beautiful colors of red, yellow, and orange. Pine and oak trees also littered the area, the accent of green was the perfect touch to the autumn forest.
Parking the car in front of Kamski’s house was a shock for Nines, though now he knew where you were going, he still didn’t know why.
The leaves crunched underneath your feet as you went up the walkway, with Nines at your heel. You were thankful he was cooperating even though he was mad at you, it made things a lot easier. He had no idea why you were here and what you were doing. You decided not to tell him in fear he or Cyberlife might try something to stop you.
After ringing the doorbell, you were surprised when an android open the door, a Chloe model to be exact. She was dressed in a dark teal, long sleeved dress, and she was barefoot. You thought the color complemented her well. She still hadn’t removed her LED, which you thought was a bit strange.
“Are you here to see Elijah?” Chloe asked in a sweet voice. When you nodded, Chloe let you in. Behind you, Nines was looking at the back of your head in confusion. Why were you here to see Elijah Kamski?
You followed Chloe into the house and you immediately noticed the portrait of Kamski in a suit. It made him look vain, but then again, if you were the CEO for the most successful business company in the world, you’d be narcissistic too.
Chloe led you to a room with a pool filled with red water and huge windows overlooking Detroit. She opened a door that was right next to a large painting, and disappeared inside. You looked at Nines for a reaction, but he didn’t give you the satisfaction of one. You suppose he was still mad at you. Sighing, you followed Chloe.
In this room, there were the same large windows, but this room looked more like a living room. It looked like the definition of modern. There were two grey couches, one leaning against the wall facing the window, and a another across from it. In between the couches, a coffee table lay, on top of the coffee table was a geometric shape decoration and a magazine. Overhead, there were LED lights in a triangular pattern. In the middle of the room, there was a TV that was currently off. Behind the TV, there was a wall with crystalized shapes inside squares. In front of the wall, a dinning table with many chairs stood.
“Elijah? Your guests are here.” Chloe said, gesturing to you and Nines.
Kamski was sitting on the couch facing away from the window, he was typing something on the laptop on his lap. You didn’t expect Kamski to be wearing something so casual. He wore navy blue jeans and a long sleeve graphic shirt. Large glasses sat on his face, and his signature man bun undercut haircut was styled apart from a few strands falling onto his face.
“Ah yes, Connor’s friends.” Kamski put the laptop onto the cushion next to him and directed his attention to you and Nines.
“Elijah Kamski, I am (y/n) (l/n) and that’s my partner and professional asshole, Nines.” You didn’t mean to act petty in front of Elijah Kamski of all people, but you were bitter from Nines acting so rude to you. But to your surprise, Kamski had a half smile upon his face.
“Detective, I presume.” You nod at Kamski and he continues, “My brother told me about you.”
You tilt your head. Kamski has a brother? Who was he? How did his brother know you?
Kamski noticed your confused expression so he explained, “I’m disappointed that he never told you. I’m sure you’re familiar with Detective Gavin Reed.”
Your jaw goes slack, You gape at Kamski in shock and confusion. You weren’t able to form complete sentences so all you were able to say was, “Brother?”
Kamski nods and smiles, “Half brother to be exact. We’re not as close as we used to be, but we talk ever so often.”
A million questions run through your head. You were completely dumbfounded. You never even knew Gavin had any siblings, much less a brother that created Cyberlife. You would have to talk to Gavin about this later.
“Anyway, Connor told me what you’re here for, and that it should be kept incognito.” He gestures to Nines subtly. You still could barely make proper sentences so all you did was nod.
“Nines,” Kamski addressed, “You’re here to get some new abilities to fight crime.” You noticed Kamski’s ability to lie so smoothly, and his lie wasn’t exactly wrong.
“Can’t someone at Cyberlife give me the new ability?” Nines asked suspiciously.
“Oh nonsense, no one at Cyberlife has my expertise.” Kamski replied simply.
Nines thought for a moment then nodded.
Kamski turned to Chloe and gave her a short nod. She walked towards the TV and pushed a button on the TV stand. Suddenly, a glass casing rose up from the floor between the TV and the coffee table.
“If you will just get in here I can start the process.”
Nines barely hesitated, he walked into the casing and a glass door shut behind him. Nines turned so he was facing the three of you.
“Please remove your skin.” Kamski asked Nines as he walked up to the glass door.
Nines did as he was told. The synthetic skin disappeared, in its place was the smooth white and grey plastic. Kamski touched the glass door and a light blue keyboard showed up on the door, he started typing on it. Other holograms of code appeared on the door while Kamski was working. He touched them before typing something into it, then deleting something else. He worked fast and efficiently. About fifteen minutes later, he was finished.
Chloe unlocked the case and Nines stepped out, His synthetic skin reappearing. He looked around awkwardly, then his face scrunched up in confusion.
“I got a notification for an update, should I download it? It’ll take ten minutes.” Nines asked to no one in particular.
“Yeah Nines, it’ll help us!” You urge.
Nines nods, then takes a seat on Kamski’s couch. He stares ahead of him, looking at the coffee table.
“While that’s downloading, he’ll be unresponsive. In the mean time, we can talk.” Kamski said, “Take a seat, Detective.”
You sit on the couch opposite of Nines, next to Kamski. He looks at you and in a serious voice he questions.
“Why do you want Nines to deviate? What is your purpose for doing so?”
You look at him, “I just want him to, he’s missing out. I don’t think it’s right for one android to be a machine, when all the rest are deviants.”
You continue talking to Kamski until Nines had downloaded all the updates. Most of your conversation was about Gavin and Kamski being brothers and the updates that were being installed. You were suddenly interrupted by Nines.
“(Y/n)?” Nines touched the couch with his hand then flinched away. He jumped up from the couch, he held his hands in front of him, looking at them, “(y/n)? What is going on?”
Nines stumbled towards you, and you stand up to catch him. He falls into your arms, but before he could get settled in your grip, he falls backward.
Everything he touched had a feeling to it. When he touched the cushion, the soft feeling startled him. Then when he when to you for reassurance, your skin and clothing had an odd feeling. The smell of you also filled his nose. It made him fall back, he didn’t like how everything had a feeling. It was a sensory overload, and it was causing all types of software instability.
His eyes darted everywhere, he didn’t like what was happening to him. For once, he didn’t know what had happened.
You slowly walked towards the panicking android, holding your hands up to make sure he knew you weren’t trying to hurt him.
“It’s okay Nines, everything is alright. Nothing is going to happen to you.”
You kneeled down to face Nines, he looked completely scared, and touching the soft carpet sure wasn’t helping. You tried to reach out to touch him but he jolted back. Learning from your mistake, you approached him more slowly. You touched his sleeve and rubbed it gently, Nines watched as you did this. He was used to feeling nothing, only the pressure of something against him. Now he felt everything. He was extremely sensitive, anything and everything was causing him to be uncomfortable.
“Can I touch you?” The fear in your eyes was evident. You could only thing that maybe you shouldn’t have had all the updates download at one time. Maybe you pushed too far.
Nines wanted to brush you off, stand up, and get out of Kamski’s house in the same manner as always, but everything was so jumbled and confusing, he decided to nod.
You got on your knees and carefully wrapped your arms around Nines. Your scent flooded Nines’ nose. He stiffened, but after a moment, your smell became inviting and oddly comforting. Your touch became warm and empathetic. In a weird way, he liked it.
You weren’t very touchy-feely, but right now you didn’t care. You felt terrible for doing this to Nines when he wasn’t ready. You needed to help him through this.
To your shock, Nines wrapped his arms around your torso. He was hugging you back. His hug was awkward, as if he was trying to get into the most comfortable position. But you didn’t mind, you took what you could get, and this was definitely the end to your argument.
The hug didn’t last very long, Nines was the one to pull away. He wanted to go back to unemotional machine that he was. He shouldn’t he hugging his coworker. It’s unprofessional.
When he stood up, he ran a diagnostic. He found the new software quickly. All different kinds of new abilities, after some quick research, he found these updates were for deviants. At first, he was going to lash out at you, but the actual feeling of hugging you reappeared in his mind. He wanted that feeling again, if he forces you to get rid of it, he wouldn’t be able to smell your loving scent, or your comforting touch. He ultimately decided to not comment on the changes.
“Sorry about that Nines, I thought it would help.” You rub your hands sheepishly, looking up at him.
“I’m Cyberlife’s most advanced android, I am able to adapt to any situation, I will not have a problem here.” Nines said flatly.
Despite his words, he was unsteady on his feet. He didn’t know this is how humans feel the world. Nines did his best to show he was unaffected by these changes, but his obvious discomfort shown through.
You walked up to Kamski sitting comfortably on his couch, he had watched your whole exchange with Nines, and realizing that, made you embarrassed.
“Uh, thank you so much Kamski, this means a lot to me.” You stutter slightly on your words.
“Your welcome Detective, I’m happy to help.” He rests his chin on his fist and smiles at you.
“Well- we better get going. Thank you again for your time.”
Kamski nods shortly, and you start walking the way you came, with Nines lagging behind. Chloe kindly walked you out, and you made sure to thank her as well.
Nines was out the door when you turned to Chloe. She watched you expectantly and kindly.
“I know this is a weird question, but are you a deviant?” You stutter a bit asking such a personal question.
To your surprise, Chloe smiles and nods. You were really expecting her to be offended, “Of course I’m deviant.”
“Then why are you still helping Kamski?” She could be doing so much more. You were just genuinely curious.
“Well, all the other Chloes left to do what they wanted, but I feel that if someone doesn’t take care of Elijah, he won’t take care of himself.” She simply smiles and shrugs.
You nod and smiles slightly. With a wave, you leave Kamski’s house.
You see Nines waiting in the passenger seat of your car. When you get into the driving seat, Nines speaks up.
“Do you think you could’ve hurried up? It’s really cold outside.” He goes to fold his arms but flinches when his arms come into contact with each other.
Now that you watch more closely, you observe that Nines was sitting tensely against the seat. His back doesn’t touch the seat, his legs are hovering apart, and he tensed his shoulders.
You suddenly become guilty. You hadn’t meant to make Nines so uncomfortable, just to cause software instability. You didn’t even know if it worked, and if you asked it would cause more suspicion.
Without answering Nines’ question, you start your car and drive away.
Back at your apartment, you had discovered that Nines found solace inside your bedroom. While you were doing a couple of chores, Nines had snuck inside your room and sat on your bed. When turning around, you found that Nines had crawled under your blankets, he was on his side, and was out like a light.
You turned off the light and quietly shut the door behind you. Honestly, you were surprised to find Nines, of all people, asleep in your bedroom. Guessing that once he downloaded the new sleeping feature, his body realized he was overworking himself, making him extremely sleepy. You really need to get him a bed.
Walking into the living room you find a blanket halfway on the couch, the other half on the floor. The pillow was in a position for sleeping, and you realize that Nines was trying to sleep here.
You sigh and plop yourself down onto the couch, taking out your phone to text Gavin about the whole incident of Kamski and him being brothers. Not far into your conversation, you get called for a case. Figuring that Gavin got the case information, you text him that you’ll beat him over to the scene of the crime.
Sadly you had to wake up Nines. Even when he just rolled out of bed, he looked completely perfect. No hair out of place, and he looked well rested. All he needed to do was fix his turtleneck and he was ready to go. You assumed that Nines already had read the case file so you didn’t tell him about the briefing.
The case was a homicide between an android and a human. It’s been a frequent theme, so it seems. Though this time, it was the android that was the unlucky one in this scenario. It was actually the human that called the police, clamming self-defense.
Arriving to the scene, which is just a side street with walls covered in graffiti and a few back alleys, you take note to the kind of area you’re in. It was a low-income area, with a few gangs here and there, of both androids and humans. Making it completely possible for the android that was killed to be apart of said gangs.
You quickly find Gavin, he was looking over some evidence. You walk up next to him and he turned to you. “Beat you.” His signature smirk rests on his face with his hip cocked out.
You roll your eyes, “Come on, we got more serious things to attend to.” You kneel down to see the evidence Gavin was looking at.
“That’s what a loser would say.”
Ignoring him, you look at the pocket knife that’s covered in both normal blood and blue blood. You wonder if the knife was used by both of them.
You stand up and head to the dead android on the sidewalk, which just so happened to be close to an alleyway. Gavin follows.
“His name is Jett Honne,” Gavin says, “And she’s’ Camille Gilbert.” he jerked his thumb toward Camille who was talking to Nines, while a medic wrapped her arm in a band-aid.
You bring your eyes back to Jett’s dead body and all that surrounded him. Jett’s shirt was ripped from the sternum to his belly button, exposing the empty area where the Thirium pump regulator should be. A small hole around his belly button was dripping blue blood, from the pocket knife, if you had to guess.
The pump regulator, you found, was far away from Jett. You take a look at it but find nothing of interest. Maybe Nines could find more. You hate to admit it, but he does find little details that you may have missed.
You call Nines over, and he excuses himself from Camille. She looked angry and unfriendly, while Nines looked annoyed, although, he did look grateful to get away from her.
“Nines, can you take a look at this?”
He picks up the pump regulator and looks it over. In a daze, Nines stood up and scanned the whole area. It was the oddest sight to see, but you could only guess he was using one of his fancy features he has.
Nines turns back to you after a few seconds, “I reconstructed the scene, Jett came out of that alleyway and attacked Camille with the pocket knife. Camille took the knife and cut his shirt, while plunging it into Jett, she took out the pump regulator and threw it. Meanwhile, Jett took the knife out of him and sliced Camille’s arm. He tried the reach his pump regulator, but he ran out of time. Jett fell on his back and there is where he died.”
You put a hand on your hip and shake your head, “Did you have this ability this whole time and never used it?”
“I’ve used it plenty times before Detective. I believe you just didn’t care to notice.” Nines remarked, then walked up to the android body.
Nines has been trying to get used to the new changes he had installed just today. He was trying to take things slow, but unfortunately, this case has pushed him harder than he’d like. Yes, he was an android that was designed to obey and adapt easily, but this was different. Now he could smell the Thirium coming off of the dead android. It burned through his new senses, making him nauseous.
“Hey prick, test the blood.” Gavin stated.
Nines obeyed. He walked up to Jett’s dead body and kneeled down, the smell of the Thirium was stronger, making Nines’ nose scrunch. Still, he obeyed. With a swipe of two fingers, Nines picked up the blue blood from Jett’s wound. The feeling of the warm blue blood was foreign and unwelcome to Nines. He’s done this before, in test runs and missions. But this time it was different.
He tried to bring the blue blood to his face to test it, but the odd texture of the Thirium, and the smell of it, sent him overboard.
All of a sudden, his head started spinning, and Nines became dizzier by the second. Nines ultimately lost his balance, and fell backwards onto his ass. You and Gavin had watched Nines become uneasy. You pieced together what might have happened, and came to Nines aid.
Putting a hand on Nines’ back as you kneeled down, you looked at him with concern. He was visibly shaken with his eyes wide, his arms were supporting him, and he didn’t look like he was enjoying the feeling of the rough sidewalk on his hands.
“You okay, Nines?”
He turned to you, and you barely notice the nod that came from him, as it was so brief, it was easy to miss.
“Yeah, well I don’t believe you. Here, I’ll take you back to my car,” You slowly help Nines stand up, “And you can sit this one out. Me and Gavin well take care of it.”
“No! I can do this!” Nines lurched out of your hold, and you stare at him blankly.
“Nines, we both know you can’t do this, you still need to adjust, it’ll take some time.”
Nines ignored you, and spun around, but still unsteady from earlier he wobbles and almost falls over again. Only saved by you catching him.
You glare at him, and he caves. Still, Nines wanted to protest, but he has no voice to. He knows anyone at Cyberlife would be disappointed with him, but he also agreed with you. He was in no right mind to keep going with this investigation, so you guided him by the small of his back, to your car.
You open the rear door, and you help Nines get into the seat. He still looked shaken. You wish you could stay with him, but you can’t. You’ll have to go back to the investigation sooner or later.
“You can sleep here if that’ll make you feel better.” You pat Nines’ shoulder.
He, again, nods. You sigh, then squeeze Nines’ shoulder, “I won’t be long, okay?”
This time, he hums. Good enough I guess.
You shut the door as quietly as possible, as not to disturb Nines. Shoving your hands into your pockets, you take the short walk back to Gavin. You’d have to try to keep this investigation short, you don’t want Nines to be waiting that long. Gavin looks at you with an amused brow, and you immediately know what he’s thinking.
“So? Have you found out if the plastic prick has well- a plastic prick?” Gavin nudges your side while raising his eyebrows suggestively.
“Nope.” You say flatly, “Wanna find out for yourself?”
Gavin chokes on his spit, then doubled over laughing, holding his stomach, as if you said the funniest joke in the world. The tiniest of a smile forms on your face at the sight of Gavin laughing.
“Phck, this is why I love you, (y/n).” Gavin wipes away a tear when he gets back up.
“Yeah yeah, I’m the best. Let’s just keep this investigation short, okay?”

RED ICE - Ch 16

Words: 2,616
RED ICE Masterlist
Tumblr media
You took in a deep shuddering breath, trying to breathe, trying to pull any amount of oxygen into your body. The front door opened and Connor was quickly at your side his arms replacing Gavin’s around you. He was holding your cell phone.
“What-” you sniffled and wiped at your eyes. “What’s wrong?” you asked him. Of course you’d want to know what was going on with Connor, despite the turmoil you were in right now.
The android kissed you on the cheek and offered you the phone.
“It’s your father.”
Chapter Sixteen - Why is Everything so Heavy?
They found his body hanging from a stoplight in, the word TRAITOR carved into his bare chest. His eyes were missing and when they cut the strings that held his mouth closed, they discovered that his tongue had been cut out as well. There was a roll of paper where it should have been that read “No one leaves”.
This was Viselli’s signature, or at the very least, the signature that his men use when he sends them to murder anyone who tries to get out from under him. Viselli likes to ensure that everyone who works for him knows that the only way out is in a body bag.
The murder case was transferred to the FBI and your parents were informed of your brother’s unfortunate demise. It had been your father who called to tell you the bad news, and at the worst possible time, too. You’d spoken with him on the phone only briefly, just long enough for him to tell you that Colt was dead, and then you cried and cried and cried into Connor’s shoulder. He, Gavin, and Hank were all there for you, making sure you got the love and comfort you so desperately needed as well as water to keep you hydrated.
When you finally had no more tears to shed, your throat was raw, and your eyes were bloodshot and drooping with exhaustion, you were able to tell Connor what had happened and that your family had no intention of holding any sort of funeral or memorial service for their disappointment of a son. That meant that the responsibility of providing your beloved brother with a proper funeral fell on your already heavy shoulders. Luckily, you weren’t alone. Hank didn’t hesitate to offer his assistance, followed quickly by Gavin and Connor. You were in enough pain as it was; you didn’t need to deal with the stresses of funeral planning right now.
And so you let your friends do it for you.
Sunday, March 13, 2039 // 1:04pm // Highland Cemetery
A gentle snow fell from a clouded grey sky, the soft icicles sticking to your hair and lashes. Gnarled trees were dotted here and there, their bare branches reaching in all directions. They stood like sentinels over the sea of gravestones. A chill late-winter breeze whispered through the cemetery and you shivered. Connor held you close to him with an arm around your waist, trying to provide comfort and warmth in this trying time.
While the FBI took a week to examine your brother’s body for evidence, Hank was busy planning his funeral. He and Gavin had both taken time off, despite Fowler’s disagreement, in order to help you through what was most likely the worst time of your life.
You had become distant, pushing your friends away when they tried to offer comfort. Not even Connor could get through to you when you decided to close yourself off. This prompted Hank to try and explain grief to Connor. The android began to understand as soon as his friend compared it to the fear he felt when he woke in the burn unit’s observation room to find you missing. He thought you’d died. Once the fear subsided, it was replaced with emptiness. He was sure that was what you were feeling, or rather, not feeling right now. Empty. Hollow.
Connor looked at the beautiful casket before him, the dark ebony of the wood in stark contrast to the blanket of white snow it sat upon. The casket was closed. You’d insisted on seeing your brother, but when Hank informed Connor of the state he was in, the android had refused. He didn’t want your last memory of your only blood sibling to be tainted by empty eye sockets and a marred up chest.
You were staring blankly at the hole that the casket was sitting next to, unseeing as those gathered stood in a peaceful, respectful silence around you. Not that there were very many gathered at all; it was just Hank, Connor, and Gavin. Fowler pulled their police escorts when they went against his wishes and flew to Wyoming to attend your brother’s funeral. Clearly, he didn’t care if his detectives got shot by Viselli’s men. But then again, why would he? He’s Viselli’s mole.
Connor rubbed circles on your waist to try and get your attention.
“Would you like to say a few words?” he asked, voice deafening in the silence of the winter scene.
You shook your head. You hadn’t spoken in nearly three days. Why would you now? After another few moments of silence, a heavy sigh escaped your lips and you turned your attention to the somber pallbearers. With a reluctant nod, you signaled for them to lower your brother down into his grave. You watched with tearless eyes as the men did their job and the black casket disappeared down into the earth.
You weren’t crying. You had no more tears to shed. You were just numb.
Shrugging out of Connor’s grasp, you turned to leave. The android caught your arm, then intertwined his fingers with yours.
“Please don’t push me away,” he whispered.
Thankfully, you didn’t pull away from him, but instead let him once again wrap an arm around your waist and lead you to your rented car.
“You two goin’ back to the hotel?” Hank asked, and Connor turned to see his friend behind him, looking rather downcast. You had already ducked into the passenger’s seat and closed your door. Connor nodded in response. “Alright. I’m gonna go find a bar,” the Lieutenant said as he made his way toward his own rented vehicle.
“I’ll go with him. Make sure he gets back to the hotel safely later,” Gavin chimed in.
Connor nodded and Reed clapped him gently on the shoulder before he hopped in Hank’s car.
You slid your keycard into the slot on your hotel room door, then pushed it open and stepped inside. Connor took your coat and you kicked off your shoes. Then, you just stood there in the middle of the room, queen-sized bed to your right, television to your left.
“We were gonna meet, you know,” you said quietly and Connor came up behind you to wrap his arms around your waist, resting his chin on your shoulder. “I told him to wait. I told him not to try and get away. He didn’t listen. He never listens…”
You twisted around in Connor’s grasp and returned the hug, burying your face in the crook of his neck.
“I don’t know what I would have done without you guys,” you whispered, then kissed his neck, as soft as a butterfly’s wing. “I couldn’t have done any of this on my own.” Another soft kiss was placed an inch above the first. “My parents are lowlifes, disowning Colt like that. He was just trying to make it in a world that doesn’t favor anyone.” Your hand snaked around to Connor’s front and you nimbly loosened his tie.
He knew what you were doing. His LED flashed yellow as he commanded the speaker in the corner to play music, and suddenly a soft melody was drifting through the warm air of the hotel room.
“Are you sure you want this?” he asked. “You’re in a very emotional state right now. I don’t want to do anything that you’re going to regret later.”
You removed your head from his neck and brought your lips to his, kissing him softly and slowly as you pulled his tie from his neck.
“To be honest,” you said, pulling back. “I’m surprised we haven’t done this already.”
“As long as you’re sure,” the android replied, fingers pulling down the zipper on the back of your dress.
The kiss you shared now wasn’t like the ones you’d shared before. Before, they were hungry, passionate, possessive. Now, you kissed Connor slowly and sweetly, and if he didn’t know any better, he might think you were made of vanilla and cinnamon.
“I can feel…” you breathed as his kisses moved to your jaw. “...you. I can feel you.”
He slipped your dress from your shoulders and pulled it slowly down your body, kissing and touching as he went. Wherever his fingers or lips found your skin, the synthetic material retracted, allowing the white plastic underneath to peek through.
“Connor, I-”
The android looked up when he reached your hips, kissing your stomach just above the waistband of your panties. Your eyes were closed, brows furrowed.
“Are you not enjoying this?” he asked.
“No, I- I can feel you,” you repeated.
He helped you step out of your dress and rose to stand before you once more. Your top half was bare before him and he trailed his fingers over your collarbones, watching as your skin fled from his fingertips and then returned when they moved on.
“Tell me,” Connor said, bringing your right hand up to his lips so that he could pepper kisses along your knuckles.
“What do you feel?” he asked.
Your eyes were still closed, but the crease between your brow was replaced by a soft smile as you reached up with your prosthetic arm to undo the buttons on his dress shirt.
“Love,” was your reply, and a stray tear found its way past your eyelids and down your cheek. The android kissed it, tasting the salt of the fragile tear on his tongue.
Connor knew what you were talking about. He had been talking with Kamski before you had woken up, and the android was given a theory that he didn’t get the chance to ask about. Now, he had his answer. Every ghosting touch of his fingertips, every kiss… he could feel you. Not just physically, but deeper than that. He could feel your emotions. He could feel your pain and your sorrow, your grief, your confusion, your distress… your love. Each touch offered him a new emotion. Your emotion. He wasn’t just feeling you physically. He was feeling you on a level deeper than he ever thought possible.
The android shrugged his jacket off and let it fall to the floor. You pulled his dress shirt off, tossing it into the pile. You watched in awe as you ran your fingers over his chest, the skin disappearing and reappearing. You closed your eyes once more as you explored his body and he did the same to yours.
“I need you, Connor,” you whispered into the crook of his neck.
He didn’t hesitate to guide you over to the bed and push you gently down onto it. He needed you just as much as you needed him. He undid his belt and trousers and slid them and his boxers off, leaving him bare before your gaze. You reached your prosthetic hand out to him and he took it, twisting your fingers together as his other hand slid your panties down your legs.
He crawled on top of you, lips finding yours eagerly as he pinned your hand beside your head, white plastic on white plastic. You wrapped your legs around his hips as he nestled in between them, his member finding a comfortable place between your already slick folds. You trailed your fingers gingerly up and down his back, and he did his best to think about how much he loves you with the hope that you would be able to feel it in your fingertips.
He rocked gently forward and you let out a breathy sigh as your head fell back. He kissed down your neck and along your collarbone, then nibbled at your pulse point. Your heart was racing and all of the desire you felt for him in that moment was transferred through your hands, still grasped firmly together. It served to drive him forward, knowing how badly you wanted him in this moment.
“I love you Connor,” you whispered as his cockhead brushed over your clit and you arched your back.
His free hand was roaming all over your body, feeling everything that he possibly could. “I love you too. You have no idea how much I love you.”
He slid his fingers down your leg, unwrapping it from around his waist to grant him access to what space was left between your bodies. His length was coated in your slick and he played at your entrance with his cockhead before you whined at him to stop teasing you. With a smile, he inserted himself inside you, only the first inch or two, and began shallow thrusts to ready you as his thumb circled around your clit.
He could feel your need, your passion. Slowly, he leaned forward, burying himself inside of you as his lips connected with yours once more. He moaned into your mouth, the feeling of your walls hugging his cock unlike anything he’d ever experienced before. You were warm and soft and he wanted nothing more than to stay like this for the rest of eternity, until all the stars in the sky died out and there was nothing left of the earth.
The soft kiss became hungrier as Connor began to thrust into you, bottoming out. He lifted your hips in an effort to hit your sweet spot. From the soft moans of pleasure escaping past your lips to be swallowed up by the kiss and the feel of your lust beneath his fingertips, he guessed he was doing a good job at pleasing you.
Finally, he released the hand that he’d had pinned beside your head to knead at your breast. You groaned and squirmed beneath him. Your touch gave away how close you were. When you were like this, interfacing with one another in such a way, he was able to read you like an open book.
He felt everything.
Your desire was his desire. Your love, his love, your pain, his pain.
A tear slipped down his cheek as he kissed you hard, tongues dancing together inside your mouths. You were hurting, and you needed him to help take away the pain, even if for only a moment. A wave of sorrow washed over him as you felt fresh grief at the loss of your brother. Connor was stronger than you right now, however, and he was able to replace the pain with love.
He could feel your climax coming fast and his was soon to follow. He shifted his position, still holding your hips up, and was finally able to hit that spot deep inside of you that had you coming undone. You came with a loud gasp followed by a long, low moan as your body shuddered and twitched. The muscles in your abdomen contracted and you curled into Connor. He held you tight as he allowed himself his own release, the feel of your walls squeezing around his member enough to make him boil over.
Artificial seed spilled from his cock as he twitched inside of you, each movement making you spasm and moan. It was a surreal experience - completely unprecedented. Not only did he get to feel his own climax, but yours as well. It was almost too much for the poor android to bear and he collapsed on top of you. You were breathing heavily as you came down from your high, clutching him close. No words were exchanged as you lay there, simply reveling in the feel of your bodies pressed together. In this moment, you were connected to each other in a way that no two humans could ever connect. You could feel each other in a way no one else could. Your emotion was his. His emotion was yours.
In this moment, you were one.

Connor x reader + Reed900 BUT:
• Reader and Gavin are siblings/Half-siblings (I honestly love the idea that Gavin is Elijah Kamski's Half-sibling on his father's side, and Reader's Half-sibling on his mother's side)
• Gavin spoil rotten Reader at every opportunity. Reader is baby sibling, and Gavin have a soft spot for them
• Reader and Nines are besties
• Reader and Sixty are Frienemis
• Reader is best man/best woman at Gavin's wedding (where they both spend half the time crying, and the other half making fun of each other for crying)
• Connor and Gavin claim they hate each other. Connor, like the little shit he is, annoys Gavin whenever he can. Gavin is occasionally tempted to hitting Connor with the car. But at the end of the day they have accepted the idea of being related, and they are the kind of brothers-in-law who spend their time teasing eachother but who love each other. Deep down.
• Connor and Reader have been babysitting Gavin and Nines' children every Saturday night since the kids are 5 years old. Most of the time they order a pizza and watch movies or TV series together.
• Once the children asked the Reader to tell them about the android revolution, and Reader decide to showed them "Westworld". Reader thought it was the most fun thing in the world to do.
• Hank Is the best Father-in-law and Grumpy granpa

“Hey Connor.” You very awkwardly walked over to the android swinging your arms.“How can I help you Officer?”“I was just wondering if you needed a lift back to the precinct?” Connor looked shocked.“That would be great, thank you officer-”“Just (Y/N) is fine, thank you Connor.” The android smiled at you, it was a beautiful smile because it looked awkward yet it suited him perfectly.
“Well by the looks of things, you and Hank will be busy for the next few days.” You finally said when you both finally got in the car.“That is, if, Hank turns up today or tomorrow.” You snorted not expecting of such a comment to come from Connor.“That, that is very true.” You sighed. “I wish I could stay focused enough to be a detective.”“Then why don’t you?” You shrugged.“More of a practical person. My brother is a lazy fucker while I-” You pointed to yourself proudly. “Actually get shit done.”“Your brother?” Connor stared at you intrigued while you kept your eyes on the road. He couldn’t quite read your expression due to the sunglasses.“Unfortunately. He got the job because he thought it would impress people. He’s ambitious, I’ll give him that- but on the other hand he is rather arrogant and will do whatever it takes to succeed.”“He sounds like someone I know.”
Conversations about your field work and Connor’s detective work were exchanged all the way back to the precinct. You followed him back inside and decided to continue to talk with Connor, you weren’t needed unless you were called in the first place. Also it would be interesting to see your brother working for once.
“So those tricks with the coins that you do. How do you do it?” This was the one question you’ve been wanting to ask him since the first time you saw him flicking a coin around a few weeks back. “Do you just constantly run calculations, or is it similar to muscle memory?” Connor seemed to perk up a bit at your question.“I do run minor calculations in the background.” You seemed to of deflate slightly. The answer was too simple.“Could you teach me?”
You didn’t notice Gavin silently walk behind as you heavily focused on just catching the coin. “BOO!”“FUCK YOU!” You shouted and hit Gavin on the head with your elbow. You grumbled as you picked up the coin. “Why the fuck would you do that.”“As your brother I am obliged to do so.” He said with a smirk then scowled at the android. “And what the fuck are you doing with this plastic prick.”“Don’t be a rude dude. I just dropped him off and waited to see if you were coming to work. I am also learning how to do the cool coin trick.” Gavin laughed as he sauntered off.“Detective Reed is your brother?” Connor asked astounded at the scene that just occued.“As I said earlier, ‘unfortunately’.” “I don’t think he approves of me talking to you.” “That’s Gavin’s problem, not ours.” You smiled wickedly.“I suppose you’re right. But what I don’t understand is, your personalities are so different. You’re kind.”“My kindness is a blessing and a curse. People have said that where he falls I rise from, or something across those lines.”“I’m glad to of befriended you today. It will make work with Detective Reed… interesting.” Meaning he will take full advantage of this blossoming friendship and make sure to flaunt it in front of Gavin.

Even more headcanon about Gavin and Sibling!Reader
Part 1 Part 2
A/N: It's just all the headcanons that I didn't use in the last post but this time they're mostly domestic
Warnings: Mostly GN!Reader
Mild implied Connor x Reader and Reed900
Terrible English because it's not my first language
──────────────
• As I mentioned before Gavin and Reader have about a 10 year gap between them. That means the Reed house is filled with photos of Emo Teen!Gavin with toddler!Reader
• Gavin's favorite photo is a Polaroid of him and Reader napping together on the sofa when Reader was around 2 year old. He keeps it in his wallet, and the only person who has ever seen it is Tina
• Gavin used to call baby sibling "Pumpkin" The nickname has stuck, and he has no problem using it even at work
• At one point Connor also tried to use "Pumpkin" and Gavin almost punch him.
• Now Connor uses "любимая"(darling) or "жизнь моя"(my life) for Reader, and Gavin regrets every day that he didn't let him use pumpkin
• Hank however prefers "Dude" or "Asshole" for Gavin, and "Kiddo" for Reader. Plain and classic
• He kinda start getting used to it after Nines also started using Russian in their private conversations
• Connor learned to speak Russian on his third day at DPD after hearing Reader and Gavin talking to each other. Gavin was so pissed off when he found out Tincan and Pumpkin were speaking Russian to each other. Basically because it was something between sibling and mama Reed
• Although Mama Reed is an Orthodox Christian, she and Papa Reed have never pushed their children to choose which religion to practice. As a result, Gavin is an atheist, but still enjoys Orthodox celebrations (if papa Reed was of a religion other than Orthodox Christian, Gavin and Reader continue to celebrate their father's religious holidays as well)
• Gavin is a cat dad, and I think that's a proven fact. Nonetheless I think he inherited his love for cats from his mother
• Continuing to talk about Mama Reed: she is Slavic. That means no shoes in the house. Reader and Gavin still using the "no shoes" policy in their respective homes
• "So what's it like being Reader's brother?"
" Once i asked them for a glass of water while they was mad at me and they brought me a glass of ice and said "Wait"."
• Much of Reader's childhood clothing was originally Gavin's. It doesn't matter if Reader is Afab or Amab. Do the clothes fit and are they in good condition? Great, Reader is gonna use it. Even now, Reader occasionally uses Gavin's clothes. Mainly hoodies or sweatpants that Gavin wears in his teens
• Nines would like to use some of Gav's clothes as well, but unfortunately many are too small, as Gavin is shorter than him
• Nines and Reader adore eachother. They are practically bestie. Reader likes to refer to Nines as "my own Tina". I guess they bonding over both being the younger, smarter, nicer and better looking siblings in their respective families
• Also it is Reader who originally introduced Gavin and Nines. They became work partners just a few days later
"I just wanted to say i just got you a boyfriend."
"I'M NOT GAY I DON'T WANT A BOYFRIEND!"
• However Reed900 and Connor x Reader is pretty much the same pair in different fonts. Connor and Gavin haven't realized it yet or pretend not to notice, while Nines and Reader find it hilarious
• If you ask me they are both Sun x Moon, Loud introvert x Quiet extrovert, Taller simp husband x Shorter Reed
For me the only differences is that one is friends to lovers and the other is enemies AND friends AND lovers
• Gavin and Reader go to Target every Friday after their shift at the department. Normally to grab something for dinner and buy things they don't really need. Lately Nines decided to join too, and every time he goes there he promptly buys a new decorative pillow. Now Gavin gets nauseous every time he sees a new pillow but doesn't know how to say no to his boyfriend
• In 2042, Gavin and Nines adopt two children. Hank was initially quite uncomfortable around the kids, not being used to interacting with them anymore. Connor, on the other hand, has a baby fever since the first moment he met his nephews. He told Reader about it, who is still around their mid/late twenties and don't feel ready at the moment, so they compromised by getting a dog and a cat
• Anyway Connor cried when he found out that his nephews' favorite uncle isn't him, but it's Sixty
• In general now the relationship between Connor, Nines and Sixty vaguely resembles that between Bandit, Stripe and Radley from Bluey. You decide who is who
• I love to think Connor and Gavin have a truce around Reader and Nines, but whenever they aren't around they call each other names
• However over time they have grown fond of each other, and they look after eachother. Somehow they ended up being a family, so they might as well try to get along
• I mean, sometimes a family consists of a Russian widow, her two wild children, a grumpy dad and three androids

RK800 Connor x Reader
By: @pusantheamazonian                 beta’d: @bookchic20
Part 2! TA-DAA! The rest of this story may get weird. Because for some reason Gavin reminds me of Agent Smecker from Boondock Saints. An angry closet homo. In hindsight I may or may not have gone a lot farther than planned for this story.
Part 1
“Y/N what are we doing?” Connor's question brings you back to reality.
You immediately stop on the sidewalk and let go of Connor's hand. It slipped your mind that you were holding it tightly and have basically kidnapped him from work.
“We’re doing that coffee date. Fuck. Are you busy? Do you even want to go on a date right now?” Flustered you start to panic. You don’t want to be charged with kidnapping.
“Yes to the date. I was only filling out paperwork, waiting for another case.”
“Okay good, well we’re going to the Busy Bean. It's the closet one. The walk there and back can be our date.” Gesturing down the block.
“Sounds like a plan. What is your profession?” Connor smiles as he proceeds to walk.
“Profession? Oh, I own and run a food truck.” Hopping, you quickly catch up. His long strides put him far ahead.
“A food truck? Like the Chicken Feed?”
“Sorta, it’s called The Warm Bowl. Um, do you well can you even eat food or is it just liquid thirium?”
“I can eat all thirium based items and small amounts of carbon based food.”
“That's good to know.” Nodding you make a mental of note of that.
“How do you take your coffee?” Connor asks as he open the coffee shop’s door.
“Black like my soul.” Hovering in the back you wait for the line to go down.
“Black like your soul? How do you know what color souls are?” Confused, his LED light is whirling between yellow and red.
“Connor it was a joke. Black like my soul is a joke.” Deadpanning you reassure him.
“A joke? Why would you joke about that?”
“Because I can.”
“You should not talk like that. Your soul is the part of you that makes you who you are and that will live on after your death, the part of you that will go to heaven and be immortal, according to the teachings of certain religions.” Frowning, Connor is obviously saddened by your comment,
“Eh, doesn't feel like it. How's your soul doing?” Shrugging it off you distract him from your soul.
“I don't have a soul, I'm a machine.” Obviously dejected by the way he sighs.
“Everything has a soul. Yours is just a little underdeveloped…. like a preemie baby.” You pinch his cheek.
“There is hope for me?” Connor's voice hints at hopeful.
“Of course, there’s hope for everyone.”
With a new pep in his step Connor grins, leaving while he orders the coffee. There's something cute about the way he lights when he knows there's a possibility of happiness.
Connor returns shortly with coffee. “Can I ask you a personal question?” The way he says the question makes you wonder if he has this question prepared.
“Go ahead.” Connor hands you the coffee that you gladly take as you head back outside.
“Why do you purposely fight with Detective Reed?”
Ah… This question.
“Not purposely, it just happens. But I do live to annoy him.” Carefully prying the lid off, you blow air across the cup to cool it down a few degrees.
“That still sounds on purpose.”
“Eh, read into however you want. Just basic sibling terrorizing.”
“Why do you still have your LED light? I thought that all deviants removed theirs.”
“I never felt the need to. I am alive but I am still a machine. It is who I am, as someone gets a tattoo. It is a statement and reminder to how I became alive.”
“But it still makes you an easy target because you're so identifiable.”
“Yes, but it does not change the way I feel.”
“That's good… So what do you do when you're not at work?”
“Watching TV with Hank, monitoring his diet and keeping the house tidy. Cuddling with Sumo until it is time for stasis.”
A fucking housewife.
“It's nice that you're watching out for him.”
“He was my first friend. He knew I was deviant before I did.” Connor pauses. “What do you do when you're not annoying Detective Reed?”
“Well eat, sleep, work, play video games, repeat.”
“Is that a robot joke?”
“Maybe.” Smiling you bump his shoulder.
“You seem to regard yourself more as a machine than human.”
“Experiences shape how you feel. Sometimes I feel like I'm just a machine.” Your response causes Connor to pause and think for a few moments.
“How many years between you and Detective Reed?”
“You can just say Gavin, but he's five years older.” Seeing him processing that order, you know he's not going to be able to just switch from Detective Reed to Gavin. “What's your favorite movie?”
“From Hank's collection, I would have to say Mamma Mia.”
“Mamma Mia?” You almost snort coffee out your nose. You are slowly realizing that Connor is fucking weird.
“Is that odd?”
“No no, I just didn't peg you as a musical fan.”
“What is your favorite move?”
“I would have to say The Land Before Time.” Connor gives you a confused look. “I like dinosaurs. It’s a movie about baby dinosaurs.”
“Baby dinosaurs?”
“Baby dinosaurs are the best.”
“Has Detect- Gavin always had tough relations with other people?”
“He'd complicated…. He has always been rough around the edges, a problem with authority. Being raised by a single parent you quickly learn that most people are assholes.”
“Then why such hate for androids?”
“Ah, his last partner left him for a sex android. That's where most of his hate for androids stems from. Then it’s because he is stubborn and doesn't like change, as you know androids are the newest level of change for this world.” You kick a stone that’s in your path as you slow down, stopping in front of the police department. Letting the silence take over.
“Would you like to go on another date?” Connor asks after a few moments.
“Yes, that would be nice. But I think you better get a move on.” Nodding towards the door, where Hank is waiting.
“Oh…. Time to go to work.” His face drop for a second as he quickly masks the disappointment.
“Well I will see you later. You two have fun.” Waving at Hank you walk a few steps away.
“W-wait aren't you supposed to give me your phone number or address?” Connor reaches out to stop you.
“Connor you're a detective. I’m pretty sure you can figure it out.” Winking, before walking away smiling. You can hear Hank laughing his ass off.
~
“Oh come on Chris, is this really necessary?” Grumbling you follow his lead.
“Sorry Y/N, but I have to follow the rules. Everyone has to be separated.” Chris motions to a separate holding cell. You don't want to be separated from Andrew. There’s no telling on how he’s going to react, when he does react. He’s still processing his new found deviancy, the two of you have been working on expressing emotions.
“Well I want my one phone call.”
“I already called your brother. Since this is an android related case, Hank and Connor will be here shortly.”  Chris states hinting that he's sorry.
“Fuuuucckk.” Groaning you face plant on the bench.
After awhile Chris comes back and moves you into an interrogation room. Knowing that this is going to be annoying and unpleasant, you start making faces at the two way mirror.
“Damn it Y/N.” Hank yells opening the door.
“What?”
“You want to explain why Chris had to arrest you?” Hank gruffs sitting down.
“The dipshit wouldn’t keep his fucking hands off my fucking android. I was beating some sense into him.”
“Chris says that you were beating him with a wok. Your android Andrew was cowering behind the food truck and Chris could smell alcohol on the man you were beating.”
“Yeah and?” Rolling your eyes, you lean back in the chair.
“Explain in detail.”
“We were closing for the night when this dipshit came back. I refused service to him earlier because he was acting like an asshole to the other customers and made rude comments about Andrew. Saying that deviants need to be deactivated and that they have no souls. But he comes back drunk and tries to start a fight with Andrew. So I grabbed a pot and started beating him with it.”
“Jesus. Why didn't you call the police?”
“He already had a hold of Andrew, besides I normally have at least one of these assholes per day. It has just been a normal day.”
“Good thing for you, Andrew was the one who called the police so you’re in luck.”
“Eh.” Shrugging you see Hank sigh. Not a normal sigh but the done with your shit sigh. Which makes you question where is Connor? Chris said that Hank and Connor would be here. “...Hank is-” Hank lifts his hand to stop you and nods back to the window. He already knew you were going to ask if Connor is here. “Fuck.” Sighing you let your head fall to the table with a thud.
“Give me some time and I’ll have you out of here.” Hank orders before leaving. He walks into the observation room studying Connor. “What do you think, Connor?”
“She has no reason to lie. The other male’s blood alcohol level is 0.27%. Well above legal limit.”
“But…”
“I’m worried… this behavior is not what I calculated.” Frowning, his LED whirls yellow again.
“Y/N did say she was defending Andrew. People change when they are protecting someone.”
“I will talk to Andrew.” Connor tries to remain calm, he must remain professional. In the other observation room it is obvious that the android is nervous. Connor sits down and smiles. “Hello my name is Connor. I’m here to help.”
“W-where is Y/N?” Andrew stutters, he continues to fidget.
“She is fine. Can you tell me your name?”
“Andrew, an AW500.”
“Andrew, I need you to explain what happened.”
“The man came out of nowhere… I was cleaning up outside the truck, we were closing. He was angry about something. Y/N had refused him service earlier that day. He… Grabbed my shirt and threw me to the ground. Y/N came and was beating him off. I was scared, I alerted the police. Y/N says that if anything bad happens call the police.”
“That was the right thing to do Andrew. What is your relationship with Y/N?” Connor deviates away from the investigations questions.
“She’s my boss and best friend. She understood why I was deviant and has been helping me adjust.”
“Andrew I need to access your memory bank, to review the days incidents involving the other man.”
“Okay.” Andrew holds his hand out, Connor grabs his wrist as the  data transfers. Through Andrew's eyes he is able to confirm the events leading up to the assault and what happened.
“Thank you Andrew. I will confer with Lieutenant Anderson.” Connor politely smiles and returns to Hank.
“Well?”
“It was self defense.” Connor confirms.
“See no worries Connor. I'll have Chris start the discharge paperwork. There's no need to be jealous.” Hank chuckles patting Connors shoulder.
“Jealous?”
“Asking about their relationship. I think your feeling a little jealous.”
“No I'm not. I was just gathering data.”
“Uh huh.” Hank nods slightly in assurance but not truly buying it.
“Where is she?” Gavin bursts in.
“Currently being discharged. She was involved in case of self defense.” Connor immediately spouts off.
“Self defense?”
“Some ass attacked her and Andrew.” Hank clarifies.
“Damn it! I told her.” Gavin mumbles turning around.
“Told her what?” Connor questions in interest.
“This city will kill her.” Clearly angry Gavin storms off. Leaving Connor and Hank confused.

“Am I allowed to return to my business? It's not being impounded or something?”  You suspiciously question Hank as hands your stuff back.
“No you two are free to go, no charges. But I suggest 24 hour cool down. Do you want to press charges? He's already being charged with disorderly conduct and intoxication in public.” Connor states.
“That's up to you Andrew.” Shrugging you look at Andrew.
“No but I suggest sensitivity classes.” He answers quickly.
“Noted. Gavin is waiting at his desk.” Hank nods at the desks.
“Thanks for your help guys. Andrew, out of the pan and into the fire.” You give them a quick salute and gesture for Andrew to head on.
Gavin is perched on his desk impatiently waiting. “Dawn and Greg closed up shop. I'm taking you two home.” Gavin tosses the keys at you. You miss and they fall to the floor.
“Hey we don't catch. But thanks for calling them.” Annoyed you pick them up, noticing that Andrew is hanging back away from Gavin.
“You need to close shop up earlier or have some type of lookout or something!” Gavin starts chiming in his two cents.
“Yeah yeah, you want me to get a ninja?”
“You couldn't afford a ninja.” He scoffs.
“Then shut up.”
