I know this isn’t the cuddling gif headcanons people were requesting (it’s on my to do!) but here, have a crumb.

Honestly I’ve been so inactive because my phone got hella smashed back in January and I lost all my notes, so I got burnt out and had to start everything from scratch. Also, mental health has been unkind…

Anyway, without further ado, here’s some kisses with our beloved lieutenants! Yachiru’s is purely platonic affection because that little girl is a child.

🫖 Sasakibe’s kisses are romantic. They’re the type you see in movies, the long, slow yet impassioned kisses. He’d start with kissing your hand like the gentleman he is, and end with kissing your cheeks, your forehead, your eyes. His kisses always taste of tea, and you’re reminded of his lips with every cup you consume. Always tells you how much he loves you, waxes poetic, and his hands stay in respectful places like your face, hips and waist. Well, unless you ask otherwise…

🍻 Izuru’s kisses are lingering. Izuru is a private man, and he honestly doesn’t show affection very often, especially not in public, preferring to show you he cares in other ways: a subtle brush of hands, a loving look, a gentle and reassuring smile. But when he does kiss you, he makes sure the moment is private and you can’t be interrupted. They start slow, but quickly escalate until he’s got you pressed against him fully, his hands splayed across your lower back, his tongue delving into your mouth. He’s the type to switch angles regularly. When he eventually pulls away, he’ll rest his forehead on yours. They often almost always lead to something else.

🦋 Isane’s kisses are timid. Our tall, shy girl is already quite insecure, so leaning down a little to kiss you can make her a little unsteady. Mostly because she trembles every single time. You’ll almost always have to initiate. Please please please be patient with her! When she eventually gets more confident with you, and her kisses become deeper and more passionate, she’s almost always the first to pull away, putting her hands over her blushing face and apologising profusely. If you pull her hands away and pepper kisses over her face, it’ll calm her enough to try again.

🍑 Momo’s kisses are sweet. She will spontaneously plant a peck on your cheek when she sees you, and will always blush, but give you a smile. Sometimes her kisses are frenzied but still manage to maintain the innocent feelings of joy at being close to you rather than a lust driven haze (although that happens occasionally too). She’ll mutter things like “I love you so much!” between kisses. Her kisses are normally quick and frequent, and she’ll nuzzle her nose against yours upon parting. Kiss the tip of her nose of forehead and she will just melt.

📖 Nanao’s kisses are delicate. They’re soft, like a butterfly’s wings, a gentle brushing of her lips on yours before she presses a long kiss on your lips. She then slants her lips over yours, deepening it, taking her time. Nanao is another person who’s definitely not fond of PDA, but will accept a small peck on the cheek or kiss on the back of her hand. She’s an absolute sucker for romance, so if you kiss her hand or wrist be prepared for her to kiss yours back. She’ll rarely initiate, so you’ll have to take the lead a lot of the time, but she’ll wrap her arms around your neck and possibly do the leg lift thing, just like in the romance novels.

🐉 Renji’s kisses are messy. Teeth and tongue work in tandem with his lips and each time he kisses you, it’s like he thinks it’s the last time. He is also a very affectionate drunk, and can be a little clumsy when he first leans in. But even when he’s sober, he’s clumsy. This man talks a big game a lot of the time, but when push comes to shove he’s a little shy, and sometimes his affection for you hits him so hard that he’s chomping at the bit to shower you with love. But pushes through the nerves, determined to connect with you. He’ll crash his lips to yours, uncaring of how the saliva is getting everywhere. He buries his hands in your hair, grips your waist, occasionally whispering about how perfect he thinks you are. He’s just passionate and so so in love.

🍜 Iba’s kisses are enthusiastic. This man sees affection as serious business, and always puts his best efforts into kissing you. He just wants to impress you, while showing you just how much he loves you. He’s like a man with a mission, and the intense look he gives you right before diving in and capturing your lips with his will never fail to give you butterflies. He’ll often grin brightly at you afterwards, and will ruffle your hair if you blush, maybe tease you a little. As if he didn’t nearly keel over the first time you kissed him!

⛓️ Shuhei’s kisses are unpredictable. Sometimes he gives a quick peck, other times in the mood to draw it out, or kiss you so deeply it leaves you completely breathless and wanting more, but even with the context of the situation you can never tell which he will pick. For example, if you’re running late, he may draw you in as you fix your hair and straight up make out with you. The next day, if you’re running late again, he may just give you a peck on the cheek or lips. Either way, Shuhei is the type of lover who will always kiss you as a goodbye in the mornings, and as a hello in the evenings as an important ritual between the two of you, but the variety will always leave your head spinning.

🧣Rangiku’s kisses are flirtatious. If it’s one thing she likes, it’s the thrill of the chase, playing cat and mouse. She has a habit of initiating all the time, catching you off guard and kissing you either passionately or very lightly. She will pull away, giving you a wink and a flirty smile and occasionally a teasing remark, before walking away or using shunpo, expecting you to chase after her. If you do, she’ll either reward you, or laugh her silvery laugh and disappear again. If you initiate the same behaviour it puts her on the back foot, but just be prepared: she’ll get you back!

🍡 Yachiru will give the occasional cheek kiss to you if you’re a big brother/sister figure. This kid will climb up you, nuzzle your cheek and plant a cute little kiss there. But beware, she’s likely after the sweets in your pockets!

🧬 Nemu’s kisses are restrained. All her life she’s been under strict control and orders, leaving little autonomy in decision making and her own body... Nevertheless, she’s a girl who does like to show affection to her lover, but lacks the experience. Please sit and show her some romantic movies, and be patient with her. Once she learns to let her inhibitions go? You bet you’re but they’re the best kisses you’ve ever had! Under all that stoicism is a person, and her fierce loyalty to you translates to physical, fiery affection. She’s touch starved, so expect her to be very receptive once she’s comfortable.

-eventually tho, when middle school ended and high school began, Yunjin started to become closer too with other kids (the fimmies) who were rather well mannered, so she eventually toned it down a bit until she became such a model student that they all became the student council.

-I mean she looked happy, and you were happy for her fr, and it’s not like you guys stopped talking. You just missed your partner in crime from time to time tbh. You have feelings too Cmon.

-She‘s never mean, she does it ‘cause she cares for her best friend’s other best friend and for her school.

-But Yunjin and Sakura always remind you is with 0 bad intension, she just gets too much into stucon pres mode.

-Having a best friend in the student council actually be having its advantages hsjdnckd

-Since you seem unable to stay away from trouble, you often have Yunjin to your rescue.

-whether it is to talk to the professors, or even the principal!

-She always convinces them to not give you heavy punishments that might seriously affect your record.

-And she always gets you out of detention early.

-Except when you stop her from it for two reasons.

-First is ‘cause you’re having fun with the actual bullies in the detention uenrdjfn. Making jokes or talking about stuff you guys like. She just looks at you like “…Are you serious” and everybody just looks at her and shrugs, The Office style.

-And second is when your detention is in the student council office, then you stay there with her.

-Initially she tells you to be quiet and work on your class work ‘cause she has to focus on the papers on her desk.

-But then you start talking to her with the excuse that you need help (bs Ofc)

-Then the classwork questions turn into small talk

-Then that small talk goes into intense talk

-And you guys are just being loud making jokes and just laughing together while throwing paper balls to each other.

-Until Sakura or God forbids Chaewon tells you guys to stop playing around and finish both your work for class/ stucon responsibilities.

-Her mom still adores you. To her, you’re still just that energetic kid who would always bring a big smile into her dear daughter’s face.

-Her dad tho-

-Listen he doesn’t hate you but he doesn’t exactly LIKES you neither anymore bdjdndk

-He’s just protective with his kid and doesn’t want her getting into trouble. He’s never too mean or anything but sometimes (specially when it comes to his ears that you got in trouble again) he might make comments that aren’t exactly nice.

-But Jen’s mom is always there to defend you from her husband tho, and after a short awkward moment, things are ok (for now at least).

-Her uniform always ends up a mess when she lets go of her calmed self and you get a glimpse of her old self.

-It’s still there, and it’s not like she’s pretending to be somebody she’s not. She is who she is.

- “People grow up and change a little, it happens to everybody. Even to you.” She said. And you know it’s true. And you’re ok with it. Getting a little nostalgic about your childhood together is not a bad thing. And again, you guys are still good friends and you love and appreciate each other, even if you grew up to be slightly different (or maybe not) people.

He’s also very passive when it comes to you cleaning. “Hmmm when’s the last time you tidied your room?” Nari also helps you with with anything! There’s legit no reason why this man needs a roommate. He’s rich. Sometimes you secretly think it’s because he’s a little lonely, but he always denies it. Sometimes you don’t see him around the house. Oh yeah and it’s supposed to be an “apartment” but it’s the size of a middle class townhome. He’ll always say he’s going to “clean the apartment” SIR THAT HOUSE IS PROBABY WORTH MORE THAN MY LIFE. But the house is fr ALWAYS tidy. He will not allow the house to be messy at ALL. Unlike Nari, ayato is not passive at all. He will legit just say “go clean your room now”. Like he’s your mom. And you clean it, because he’s lowkey scary. Not even to mention the fact that the entire house is decked out with designer furniture. Gucci throw pillows, and blankets that probably costs an entire college tuition. But he always spoils you! Looked at a perfume for more than two seconds? Bam it’s on your bed the next morning. Said how you were gonna buy a watch? Well now you have a Rolex. Ayato is another one who likes to cook, but he just doesn’t have much time for it. Although whenever you eat out expect high end restaurants. He says “dw, just dress casually” AND HE SHOWS UP IN A SUIT. so you’re just sitting there in like the most upscale establishment in jeans and a tshirt. Another great roommate 8.5/10

Honestly neither one of y’all knew the other existed. For like the first 6 months you thought you were living alone. He did too. It wasnt until he caught you making pudding in the kitchen at 3am. It was a pretty awkward situation tbh. Like imagine your minding your own damn business in the kitchen whippin up some delicious ass pudding and this random 5’3 dude comes downstairs. Tbh I’d panic too. Y’all fr never met before. The landlord was like pretty brief and said “oh yeah btw you have a roommate” and legit that was it. So you’re bout to put the pudding in the fridge and BRO JUST HITS YOU WITH A CHAIR. FULL FORCE ON SOME WWE SHIT. you probably had a concussion but you were more concerned about why there’s a dude with a bowl cut standing in your kitchen. in the midst of all the chaos somebody ends up saying “who tf are you???” And by grace you both say “I live here who tf are you??” At the exact same time. Then you’re both just stand there like🧍🏾‍♀️🤨. Or well he’s standing and you’re sitting bc you fell over from the chair. You both clear some stuff up. The both of you make a collective decision to blame everything on the landlord. You had a roommate for 6 months and didn’t know? The fuckin landlord man. You spilled the delectable pudding on the floor? It’s that damn landlord again. This bohemian rhapsody mf wanna start talkin shit so you bring up his relationship with his mother and he starts crying? ITS THE GOD FORSAKEN LANDLORD AGAIN. You two got this like rivalry going on. On small stuff too. Who can eat their bowl of fruit loops faster. He beats your ass in Mario kart? He will not shut up about it for the next year. You beat his ass in super smash bros? You hold it against him for the next 2 years. He’s surprisingly very neat too. I feel like he can’t cook for shit tho LMAO. Bro probably burnt tf outta pasta and never cooked it again. What are your thoughts on a Frisk/Lilac pairing? Are you opposed to the idea?

Frisk and Lilac iiiis an interesting case of being murky in terms of how I feel about it. I personally see them as a bit more sibling-like, but also there was an undeniable toxicity/codependency that was never quite resolved- honestly, they kinda wound up being a parallel to the way Chara and Asriel's dynamic pre-death, right down to Frisk pushing Lilac into a plan she was uncomfortable with and her getting hurt in the process.

So in my mind, them being romantic is shaky because when it's come to hashing out backstory details with them, it was always a case of like, "Are they basically found family type sibling dynamic, or is it a childhood besties/possible first crush scenario?" At this point, I lean the former, but since the comic only has so much in terms of content for them right now (that being Frisk's flashback, the two secret pages with Lilac, and recent stuff), I'm definitely not gonna scold or yell at anyone who thought the idea of them is cute. Y’all aren’t mind readers, and I don’t like the aggression that stuff can bring anyway.

I'd say it's iffy for me in the same way Charisk is uncomfortable for a lot of people in the fandom due to how many people prefer Frisk as part of the Dreemurr fam, whereas I personally feel like that should be taken on a work-by-work basis due to the existence of places to go and other in-game choices. Ftr, I totally get why folks feel this way, though in IF's case, Frisk and Chara did not form a sibling bond, and Frisk is going to end up staying with Papyrus, which certainly helps avoid some awkward shit (tho may not please everyone in that area). And despite me not going in with ships in mind, they ended up having a really cute dynamic that appealed to tons of my readers and got my neurodivergent brain goin' "this is now a cute, G-rated comfort thing. >:|" Only in the context of this AU- please, please don't ship Charisk in AUs that do have 'em as siblings. That's a big nope. D:

But also, I'm the kinda person who doesn't expect people to like all the things I do, and hell. My favorite Kingdom Hearts ship is Riku and Kairi. Antipode ships Ringabel from Bravely Default with Aqua completely on accident despite BD characters never being in the actual KH games, and Ven and Sora ended up with accidental chemistry there too. :P I'd be a huge hypocrite if I said people can only like the canon or accidentally shipteased stuff in Inverted Fate.

Frisk and Lilac just sits in a place where I just dunno, y'know? And I dunno how I should feel when for over two years, the specificity of their dynamic has been left kinda vague. Though I will say, if there is one IF Frisk ship outside of the usual suspects (e.g. Fr*ns and shit) that I'm really not comfortable with, iiit's Frisk and Asriel. Not keen on the idea of Frisk falling for someone who manipulated and traumatized them, plus the murkiness of Flowey's mental age. Like w/ Charisk, this applies specifically to IF- I'm not trying to attack it in other non-sibling contexts, even if it's not my thing.

But yeah. I just dunno when it comes to Frisk and Lilac. It probably doesn't help that the chapters where she interacts with Frisk aren't out yet, so there's a lot you guys have yet to see. Plus with Lilac being adopted into a whole different family, it's also just "what do we classify them as???" Does it count as inc*st vibes at that point? Genuine question here. :( Especially as a csa/inc*st survivor I don't wanna seem insensitive, y'know? I don’t like shipping adoptive siblings, and Ch*sriel is a big nope for me, and since Frisk and Lilac feel parallel to that in some respects, it’s just ???.

Also, apparently some people crackship IF Berdly and Frisk. And also Berdly and Lilac. This amuses me immensely.

First off, Build Our Machine was like- the first ever BATIM song I heard and I still love it. It gives that sense of “I’m gonna kill you and this song will prove that”. The lyrics are pretty in sync with the overall storyline in the game. Dagames has an incredibly powerful voice that brings out the song so well, overall. The tune itself is awesome because it just has so much power in it. Such a bop, always vibe to it.

Then we have Details in the Devil. You may or may not have seen me and @lightgriffinsect screensing this song, and can you blame us? It really is a good song. I mean- the lyrics are really powerful, can easily make me sway to it. Also Alice’s part (AS I WAS TYPING THIS IN THIS EXACT MOMENT THIS SONG CAME ON THIS IS GONNA HELP) was so cool. And yes the lyrics fit the character so much it’s actually accurate. At the same time, it’s been pointed out that I apparently relate to the lyrics. (YOU MADE IT HAPPEN, YOU MADE IT REAL 😩😩😩 DUDE THE SINGERS VOICE IS SO NICE TO LISTEN TO)

Then, we got Shade Me. For the most part, the song is mostly rap. I am a huge sucker for rap, which also quite a few BATIM songs have. So they automatically rank quite high in my faves. But uh- main point here is the part where it actually talks about BATIM and all those parts where the jumpscares DO exist and it’s just- wow. I can’t describe it.

Further on, we also have Children of the Machine. Dagames and CG5’s collab was epic. I love both artists sm, this was absolute perfection. Their voices just sound so nice I can’t rn- the lyrics are from a different POV this time, sounding more positive and… less murderous. I can’t tell if that’s a good or bad thing tbh. But I definitely vibe to it, 102%.

It’s in the same album as Shade Me, but it’s explicit. +5 points for that :). Okay fr tho, the “When the ink pours down, a dance for two” is so iconic I love it. Just imagining lost ones being caught dancing lmfao- It actually hits. Beat itself is pretty upbeat, like most BATIM songs and it’s really fun to listen to.
