The blonde trio after the Quirk War

So I did a continuation of the my previous Villain Aoyama AU art lmao. Ig it’s not rly an AU canonically?? (Though idk how the manga has been handling my boi since I dropped it after his reveal oop) anywayyssssss…..these babies now have to live with new identities and frequently change jobs every year in order to keep a low profile.

Monoma works as a Cab/Taxi driver and street food chef(think like hole in the wall restaurant?/place with frequent customers but within the backstreets of cities) Toga is a Sales Clerk💀(don’t ask how she even managed to get the job, the hiring manager was probably too scared by her aura to refuse her) AND Tutor(don’t ask how she landed that either since she never got to finish high school to begin with) and Aoyama works as a Bartender in a HOST CLUB(Kurogiri helped him land the job and taught him some cool stuff from his experience of working their dingy bar they used to live in with the LOV[which has since been disbanded after the quirk war].

Btw I added the “Kumo/Kuro” bc Shirakumo and Kurogiri get it? Idrk why I decided to add him in last minute but I thought it’d be funny if he pretended/acted to be their dad when they escape during their trial and onto living in the streets (for the sake of being brief: which ends in them faking their own deaths. I thought to make an art of the events leading up to this but who knows how long that will take me or when I’ll get to it🗿it is also pretty gruesome with the way I imagined it for my AU so I’m not sure if many people would even be up for seeing that oop)

They have to frequently dye their hair since they can easily be recognized by just their blonde hair and facial features, which is also why Monoma and Toga wear color contacts. Aoyama doesn’t need them since he wore different colored contacts when he became a student at UA, so there’s no need for them since everyone remembered him to have the color contact eyes instead of his natural green eyes.

They all will work multiple part time jobs to keep up with their rent and budget etc. However there are times where they will all quit to just take time to themselves. They all live together in the same apartment. Everyone also thinks they are dead, so there’s no need for them to really hide, but they’re too traumatized by heroes and their peers(hero students) to not stay in the hidden parts of towns and cities and lowkey jobs. There’s more to that on the “trial” I imagined for them (I dropped the manga some time ago but I heard that my baby Aoyama may POSSIBLY get actual time in prison for his affiliation and that was the forefront of the idea I came up with that they would all go through a trial process as they are still just children)

ALSO, in my AU Aoyama ends up with Dark shadow at some point (don’t question it I’m still trying to figure out how to fit it in so it makes sense👩🏽‍🦯, but they sort of form a bond and Dark Shadow develops depression after his “death”. He does go back to Tokoyami at some point after Aoyama realizes that Toko must be in ruins not having his best bud anymore and ‘gives’ him back?

I also mentioned that this is AFTER the “quirk war” I’m not sure if they actually use that title but from what I remember they distinctly called it that when I last read the manga. I could be wrong though.

One last thing, idk how the whole Oboro thing would work out, since he can use his quirk on command in this(hence the lack of purple mist) but technically he IS dead canonically….LIKE FRFR. Bro ain’t coming back and his body was just harvested and being used, but ignore that for this……he was just in a deep slumber and awoke after breaking out of the high security quirk prison he was in and decided to take care of the three because he would’ve wanted someone to do the same for him when he was younger and “died”.😫🖤

I know I write a lot so I highly doubt anyone read all of this😅but it’s so hard to JUST post my art and NOT WRITE ANYTHING since they all spawn from these ideas I get and I NEED to provide the context lmao Σ('◉⌓◉’)otherwise I feel wack that no one will ever know what I was aiming for lol🥲

Do you respond to comments?

I try to!! Sometimes I get a notification but I don't have the spoons to write out a deserving reply, but then I forget and then the next time I get a comment... it's been months and I'm too embarrassed to reply after such an enormously long wait. I also have a tendency to not reply to comments under the last chapter of multichaps until I've posted the new chapter.

What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

grim-old-place, I think, even though it isn't really angsty. I enjoy writing happy endings and hopeful open endings far more. Big fan of fix-its, personally. But yeah, grim-old-place is probably the one with the angstiest ending (despite being only a drabble) because it's just so. Hopeless, I suppose?

What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

an eye for an eye, hands down. Hopeful and happy, which is not something you'd expect for a angry&angsty revenge fic full of grief.

Do you get hate on fics?

I don't. Not yet, at least (I'm sure it'll happen though? It's part of posting your stuff online for the world to see). Very thankful I've not gotten any hate yet.

Once I got 'hate' on my attitude towards JKR (in which I think she's awful), but that was not on the fic itself, more on my author's notes.

Do you write smut?

Yes. It's very awkward for me. I'm not a very sexual person lol.

Do you write crossovers?

I haven't! No inspo for a good crossover yet either. I'm more an AU person (Bridgerton Prongsfoot, anyone?)

I've got this time-travel Tomarry fic in my drafts that I want to completely write before posting, but idk if that'll happen lmao. There's a changed backstory to Harry that needs to be taken into account and it's just... a lot.

What are your writing strengths?

I'm very descriptive and (apparently) good at setting a vibe! It's always nice to hear that because those are, generally, my favourite bits in reading actual novels.

What are your writing weaknesses?

Sentence-structure variety, use of the passive voice, putting too much detail or far too little because I want to get to the fun bit, creating a well-rounded plot... many.

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language?

I've considered it before for another WIP, but... I do think it'll take a reader out of the immersiveness of a fic. I'm also not fluent in any other language than English, Dutch, and Frisian, which may mean I'll royally fuck up any sentences I write in, say, French. There's this skin that allows you to show the translation when you hover though which is cool!! If you're confident in the other language, that might be something nice to look into haha

First fandom you wrote for?

Harry Potter (unpublished) or Hetalia. I think I've still got a USB stick with some ancient files on there lying around.

Favourite fic you've ever written?

oh, my dear girl. It was really fun to write female Harry in a good relationship with her aunt and cousin, and I've got some really fun bits in the upcoming sequels/chapters (undecided how I'll do that still) as well.

(There's another WIP (still unposted) that I just really love, in which Harry's consciousness travels to an alternate dimension and he ends up in the body of Henry 'Harry' Potter, James' twin brother (who is younger than James by twenty minutes). Henry's consciousness is still there and they just work together, which results in a lot of chaos (with James). )

I also adore nightcourt.gov because it's just humour and silliness which you just need sometimes.

i was overthinking uno's hand tattoo :D

ive already talked about his chest mark n all, and anyway his chest/back marks, neck and face are pretty uhh solid? idk a better word

but they somewhat make sense, they give Uno the feeling he's not like other humans, and there's something wrong

honestly, i don't see much to talk about his eye thingy, but his neck thing got me thinking aswell

it is like a wire around his neck, and it feels like its containing something, making it be inside of him, like keeping his blood thirst hidden, and it would be a very cool thing if it deformed when he was full (like closing all way around his neck) or when he was about to snap (fully disappearing or taking my hc, be the start point to his face turn black and his hair turn white)

i kinda lost myself i was gonna talk about his tattoo...teehee

but anyway, his tattoo is not natural, it doesn't give any "vibe", its not deformed or wonky or aligned w the rest of the design

and honestly, as a Uno lore expert (self entitled) i cant see any plausible reason on why he was born with that, so i can see it being just a silly lore, like

there was a tattoo artist in the village and they made it for Uno so he would feel more welcomed, something like that

or

we can take in consideration that the hand tattoo is not visible on any lore art, and imagine he gets it...after he joins grand chase

the tattoo is a dragon about to bit it's own tail, devouring itself, hurting and harming itself...just like Uno does (btw i rlly liek this text..)

i am really enthusiastic about this piece of art by tag-devilish and it reminds me A LOT about his tattoo

(it is actually what got me thinking, i was looking at his tattoo render i did for my own tattoo and this piece was roaming around my head meanwhile, lmao)

i'm not sure how or when he would get it canonically with grand chase, but for me, it would be so cool if he decided to get it as a symbol of strength, as motivation to be a better person and give everything he was to not hurt anyone, not even himself, and take care of loved ones, like his bad cycle is about to end

because he found his saviours and he will be again surounded by people who love him and wish him well.

his tattoo is just a reminder of finishing the bad cycle of his live and making him be sure everyday that to be loved is to be changed, and its okay to make bad decisions, but always make effort to be better and show youre not the same from that time

hey.. i just binge-read villain initiation after seeing your post about it ending the other day, and i just have to wonder why you would want to inflict such pain on your followers. It so good!!!!!! I swear to god it somehow made me tear up more than orv did (i had to stop many times while reading the last few chapters because my eyes were so blurry i couldnt appreciate the art (which is phenominal!!!!! I spent so long reading because i was just entranced by the lines and the shading and the poses and everything)). Its just so,,,,,, idk, but the characters! The themes! The parallels! The internal conflict!!! OMGGG IM SO GLAD YOU ENJOYED IT (and i hope u ahd a nice day as well!)!!! im so glad i get to rec this hidden gem to more people its SO genuinely amazing. i know the rough translation of the first few chapters and certain pacing points can make things hard to follow (certain chapters jumping around a lil too much is probably the one (1) critique i have of villinit) but i just!!! ilove villinit so much. i love the story. i love the characters. i love what they all have done and did do and will do for each other. and as you said the art is just STUNNING genuinely some of the nicest art and paneling i've ever seen in a web comic (much less a long-strip format one!). all the little outfits. all the character designs. all the emotions conveyed. the strength and painful clarity of the parallels and foils....honestly this one is villinits strongsuit imo. i just! i love villain initialization!

villinit is so genuinely GOOD like its a story about...so much. it about how isolated wrongs committed against each other are also larger wrongs committed against us all. it's about how this isn't an excuse for perpetuation. it's about desperately holding on. it's about throwing it all away. giving yourself the chance to change. recognizing the ability to do so within yourself. recognizing the ability in others. just what is guilt? what is blame? what is responsibility? what do these look like when you can turn back time? what do these look like when you actually can't? what does it all mean for us, individually? what does it all mean for us, when it comes to each other?

My general thoughts & opinions on them - Marianne is one of the best characters in 3H imo, the character growth over the timeskip, the beautiful design, a good unit, interesting character. I do still wish the game had beast or dragon units though and she was one of them

Favorite moment of theirs - The Raphael support where she is just talking to birds "This bird just happened to be… speaking human." I love her... disney princess!

Favorite support chain - Raphael or Ignatz's. Obviously I like the Hilda one pretty well but I am very tired of people hating it to claim Hilda is abusive ?? lmao. so the discourse has soured my opinion on it

My dream FEH alt for them - new years! I'd love to see her in a kimono

Headcanons and/or ships I have - I like nonbinary Mari for self projection reasons ehehe. MariHilda is my favorite ship but I also like her and Leonie a lot. Edelgard, Dimitri, and Igantz are some others I like but don't think about very often.

My general thoughts & opinions on them - my little guy.... my little dude... Idk they really just packed EVERYTHING into this guy. He's got the dead parents, he's lived his whole life stuck in a war, he's got a bit of the imposter syndrome. He's not the only FE lord to get sad over killing some of the enemies but I just... in the world of fe4 which feels so dark and tragic compared to the other games he is such a shining light !

Favorite moment of theirs - The hidden scene in the final chapter where he gets to talk to his parents for the first and last time :,)

Favorite support chain - I haven't gotten to the 2nd half of the game yet so I haven't read any of the convos <3 Idk probably one of the convos with Lewyn bc Lewyn moments.

I’m in a ranting mood so here we go 

Listen I love Bruno I think he’s really sweet but I know next to nothing about him, I really only know that he’s a comedian. Fusebox even addressed that, while they forced us into a “power couple,” we never have meaningful chats with our partner. Its just really terrible writing. 

Meanwhile they wrote Will and let us actually get to know him but not let us actually BE with him. And I’m so frustrated about that... 

Things we know about Will: 

He idolizes his parents relationship, and despite the fact that he’s never had a serious long term relationship and acts like a fuck boy, he wants what they have. To me this makes me think he has this romanticized/idealistic version of a successful relationship and maybe deep down inside he’s a hidden romantic but is scared of never living up to his parents relationship. (I mean he did a whole romantic speech for Thabi 🙄) 

His happiest memory is when he painted a mural for a small town. At first he didn’t care if it turned out bad because he was just practicing and he thought the town would be prettier with it even if it was trash (he lowkey shaded this town lmao he was a little shitter) But then he saw the communities reaction to his artwork, how excited the children were, and he involved them (good with children much?) and when he finished an old lady living in the adjacent building thanked him because now her view outside her kitchen was a beautiful work of art. (please this whole story is wholesome) 

His biggest regret is picking money over a passion project. He could’ve helped a small ballet troupe with their sets but he needed money so he picked a job that payed more. He regretted it when he went to see the show and saw the sets were done by a lesser artist who clearly had no care for the project whatsoever. He says he wishes he didn’t have to chose money to survive over things he loves/wants to do. 

He rarely ever gets embarrassed, but he does open up to us about his most embarrassing moment. When he was at an art gallery he saw a “modern” art piece that was a trash can with a rotting banana hanging out of it. He talks trash about how stupid he thinks the art piece is to an older lady. Only to later realize the lady he was talking smack to was in fact the artist herself. 

He tells us (depending on which option you pick) either bashfully, almost ashamed, or proudly (he’s written weird idk don’t ask me) that he slept with two people in one day. His friend and his friend’s partner, they had gotten into an argument and he slept with his friend. Then he got a call from his friend’s partner and he went and slept with them. He says it “worked out in the end” because they bonded over how much of an asshole he was. Now I can see why this would be a red flag, normally it would be for me, but if you say in never have i ever “I’ve never been someone’s rebound” he sounds almost... embarrassed by his actions. 

He goes on a cute ramble-y tangent about shaped foods. Saying his mother used to put shaped foods in his lunch (he mentions octopus sausages) talks about how his family went to Japan to a Kaiseki restaurant and how beautiful the food was. He’s clearly very passionate about this topic. He says his food probably won’t be that great but at least even if it tastes bad it’ll be pretty. Aesthetics are important to him. 

His uncle taught him pluming. Imma be honest I don’t remember much about this topic because in this scene I was too busy being thirsty and sending heart eyes at Will, but its very sweet. He must have a good relationship with his family.

So you’re telling me after ALL this information we learn about him - you show us his sweet side and let us actually have meaningful chats with him - that you decided to make him unloyal? Why is he endgame then if he isn’t redeemed?

What type of wand and patronus Would the kids have in Hogwarts AU? Would any be animagi?

okay we are really scraping the barrel of my harry potter knowledge here,,, i didn’t even finish the books guys have mercy on me i genuinely had to do vague research to answer this but here we go

Luther: 

Wood: Holly. Holly wants often choose people engaged in dangerous or spiritual quests, and I mean Luther’s search for answers and the truth and figuring out his feelings regarding his father and his family is certainly a big old quest in my books. The wood is considered protective, which I thought would be a nice match for Luther’s durability and ability to act as a shield for his siblings.

Core: Unicorn hair. I just like the symbolism of loyalty to their first ‘owner’ and Luther struggling with breaking his connection to Reginald tbh. It’s also a very consistent wand core and Luther if anything is a creature of habit (he stayed at home and took orders for years) and would appreciate the loyalty and consistency of a unicorn hair core.

Diego: 

Wood: Blackthorn. This wood is supposed to be best suited to a warrior, and Diego is very much a fighter. This wand wood is found among aurors as well as people in Azkaban, which I thought would be a nice tie in since Diego has a strong moral compass but also tends to operate outside the law. The blackthorn bush was wicked thorns, and Diego does tend to be a prickly person, but is also has sweet berries which I’m making symbolically represent the soft squishy side we all know he has.

Core: Dragon heartstring. A powerful core that learns quickly, but is also the most temperamental. Which I feel like matches Diego pretty well? He’s got his own mood swings but is a powerful individual who goes out of his way to help others even when there’s no real reward in it for him. 

Allison: 

Wood: Silver lime. Silver lime is a very pretty wand and also has a reputation for performing best for seers and those skilled in legilimency. Of which Allison ends up being exceptionally proficient in. She ends up being really good at all the mind arts, actually. If you need to obliviate someone, Allison is someone you want on your side. Plus the status the wand wood gives matches her ambition.

Core: Veela hair. It’s a temperamental wand core, but I feel like Allison has the stubbornness and mental fortitude to succeed with this wand core. She can be temperamental as well for sure lmao but also I like Veela hair for the effect veelas have on people which could be considered a soft of mind magic. Allison’s wand is literally the “mind magic wand” okay that is all

Klaus: 

Wood: Sycamore. Sycamore is a questing want that is eager for new experiences and, when bored, will literally combust. If that isn’t the perfect wand for someone as much as drama queen as Klaus then I don’t know what is?? The wand is for those curious and adventurous, and I mean. Look. People don’t wax their ass with chocolate pudding because they’re boring, and they don’t stay in Vietnam during a war for a year without having enough courage for a few adventures

Core: Thestral hair. Come on, I didn’t go with a wand wood associated with death but this one was free for the taking. Invisible creatures visible to those who see death??? Come ON. It’s perfect for Klaus no I will not take any criticism. Apparently it’s unstable but I mean so is Klaus, so. 

Five: 

Wood: Red Oak. Red oak wands tend to choose people who are quick-witted and adaptable. Did I choose this wand wood just because of the words adaptable in the description? Maybe so. It’s a very good duelling wand, which Five excels at (a nod to his assassin/sniper skills in the show) with fast reactions (a nod to his jumping). 

Core: Thunderbird tail feather. A powerful core, but difficult to master. I feel like Five would be someone who has a somewhat temperamental wand that he needs to earn the respect of. Apparently this core can sense danger and cast curses on their own which I feel like Five would find cool since his whole things is being reactive and adaptive. I feel like him and his wand become super bros eventually.

Ben: 

Wood: Rowan. Rowan is a wood that likes the clear-headed and pure-hearted but also takes no shit. Okay it doesn’t say that but it does say that they frequently outperform other wands in duels despite the virtuous reputation, which I feel is fitting for Ben lmao. Rowan has a reputation for being protective, and I feel like Ben really excels at defensive magic?? He doesn’t like fighting but will it he has to

Core: Dittany stalk. There’s not really much info as a wand core, but as a herb it’s healing and restorative. Since I like the idea of Ben eventually pursuing being a mediwizard, I like the idea of him having a wand core associated with healing and fixing things. Ben is also like, the capybara sibling who no one wants to offend and as such can force others to get along so I feel like that’s appropriate as well! Since they all do research into their wand cores, Ben’s knowledge of Dittany comes in handy. Especially during their fifth year lmao

Vanya: 

Wood: Vine. Vine goes to witches and wizards with hidden depths, who seeks a greater purpose and astound those who know them best. I mean. Vanya definitely had hidden depth, had ambitions (first chair), and astounded her family by revealing her powers and destroying the world so. I also kind of like it symbolically, since vine isn’t wood from a tree so it’s not something you would think of as a wand wood which speaks to Vanya going under the radar

Core: Phoenix feather. The greatest range of magic, but take the longest to reveal themselves. I mean, Vanya’s powers certainly took a long time to manifest considering Reginald highkey drugged her for all of her childhood so there’s that. Phoenixes are independent and detached, and Vanya herself is the most independent in the show (has a stable job, has an apartment, published author, etc.) and the most detached (isolated for her entire life) so look it fits okay.

As for patronuses (patroni?) uhhHHHH

I feel like Luther’s is a lion (house pride), a bear (strength), or a dog (loyalty)

Diego’s is probably a wolf because he’s a ‘lone wolf’ that is actually very sappy and loves his dumbass pack no matter how much he denies it

Allison is uh? Maybe a snake (house pride/associations with manipulations), or some kind of bird. Don’t know why I just feel like she would have a nice bird patronus. Maybe some symbolic thing about her being the one to spread her wings and actually get married and have a kid in the show idk i’m making this up as I go along folks

Klaus probably gets a raven or a cat? Both very intelligent creatures with some association to death or bad luck (in the case of a black cat, depending on where you live)

The whole squad starts working towards it in their 5th year with some prompting from ghost!Fred after an Incident Occurs but I have no idea what their forms would be tbh outside of stuff I already suggested for them with patronuses. Though I guess their patronus could be one thing I considered and their animagus forms another?? Who knows!

I liked Pine for Diego until I got to the point of “these wands are destined for long lived people” and then i was like lmao nope that’s none of the Hargreeves save perhaps Five they all died at thirty. Allison I also considered Elm and Applewood for, Applewood especially if I remember correctly.

I liked Aspen and Maple for Five a lot! Aspen I like for the dramatic imagery of Five with a white wand I’ll admit lmao but I like what I ended up choosing. Klaus I also liked Yew (but felt it was too obvious because it’s supposed to be a wand with power over life and death) and Dogwood, which is apparently for mischievous and loud witches and wizards. Fred and George had dogwood wands!!

athenas or the new ign videos... hmmm

im gonna go for the ign videos (moze gameplay and sanctuary-iii, no guns yet, i have a reason for that) because athenas hasn’t gotten its sweet instagram video yet. once that’s released i’ll do a full post on it. by the time i got around to finishing this post, they had released the video. oh boy... gonna do the gun post then the athenas post, i think. alright, off we go.

tl;dr: we read the entire end user agreement DAHL thrusts upon us for using the ECHO device, talk about some stuff like how (spoilers) it seems like Lilith will be getting her powers back at the end of the game, and a voice line Lily says that sounds like “Tyreen took my powers. it’s like Tannis said: [inaudible] Siren” (altho im not 100% sure on the [inaudible] part because 1) it sounds weird and 2) there’s a drum beat and also the devs are talking over her, the Siren part seems fairly accurate because of the way her mouth moves). so you know. im gonna be agonizing over that until i can hear what she says. ive already spent an hour just repeating it over and over. i nearly fell asleep lol

we’re gonna start with the moze gameplay (the first 14 minutes of bl3) because chronologically it’s first in both timeline and release date

im also convinced this intro is going to be a mirror of Borderlands 1. i stg if it starts out with the first few notes of Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked and then swaps songs I’m going to lose my mind

also also, the order is totally going to mimic the bl1 one. Fl4k = Mordecai, Amara = Lilith, Moze = Roland, Zane = Brick. We even have Lilith taking Angel’s spot as the mysterious voice in our heads, and probably Marcus driving, AND being dropped off at a bus stop.

bet the reason they changed it from ‘Moze as the Bot Jock’ to ‘Moze as the Gunner’ is because it fits under ‘Roland as the Soldier’ better. Also, ‘Zane Flynt as Himselfs’ would be a play off ‘Brick as Himself’. Amara as the Siren is obvious, and ‘Mordecai as the Hunter’ vs ‘Fl4k as the Beastmaster’ is pretty similar as well, given Fl4k has all those Hunter skills.

i know i mentioned in this post that the Great Vault may be already opened, but it could also just be a Vault they’re planning on opening and using the propaganda to convince the cultists to help them find it. 

“if you help us get this vault open, you’ll be handsomely rewarded! you’ll get superpowers! you’ll get regular meals! you’ll get money and guns and dates!” you know, the usual stuff. 

either way, elevating the Vault to a higher state (god/heaven/whatever) makes sense if you’re running a cult.

btw there is a hidden chest in the scaffolding to the left of the door, if you’re interested in grabbing some better guns before shiv. personally, i’ll be using the toy guns.

lilith gives you a grenade mod for completing her mission! im really glad they are PUSHING through the tutorial/intro so you can get right into the game. bl2′s ‘intro’ of all these tutorials was brutal. especially waiting to unlock your action skill.

in 3 you get your action skill automatically at level 2!!! which is insane, i love it! they’re jumping right into it, it’s great. and they seem to be pushing for you to get all the stuff you need right away. 

it’s curious to note that in bl3 we get our class mods at the end of the Promethea demo (after Gigamind), since in bl2 you get your first (usually?) after the hunting the firehawk mission and both seem to take place immediately after we get to the ‘base of operations’ of the game (Sanctuary vs Sanctuary-III).

yep that quest is 100% in line with the quest marker. 

i imagine From the Ground Up may be discovering where the Vault Map/Key actually is? maybe bringing people to the Recruitment Center (notably Tannis)

for this scene. i hope this takes place after the HBC, because i seriously... can’t imagine the twins showing up, taking the Vault Map, bringing it to the HBC, and then NOT taking Lilith’s powers/trying to kill Lily and accidentally taking her powers. it just doesn’t make sense, Vault Hunters be damned, we are level 2 they could melt us easy peasy. 

If anything, it feels like we COULD find the Vault Map in the Recruitment Center, Tannis tries to activate it/fix it, we find out it’s mega broke, and then the Sun Smashers show up and take it. but i seriously can’t imagine Lilith nor the new VHs allowing that to happen while they’re still there. maybe if Tannis sends us to do something while Lilith is gathering other CR members? then it could make sense if they attack while Tannis is alone with the Key...

we end up finding something in Shiv’s room that shows/helps us realize the Sun Smashers bringing the Vault Map to the Calypsos. tho this would mean the quest From the Ground Up is SUPER short and I imagine it’s not. Maybe we raid a camp of theirs like the one in front of Sanc-III with the bridge/ramp? We need to be about level 6 before we go and we start From the Ground Up at 2 so there’s obviously something DEEP we’re missing here. maybe this is a mission where we go gather the other Crimson Raiders? i love the quest objective thing, it looks like we will be able to swap through our quests with the push of a button! also im curious why exactly we’re going to promethea right away. i wonder if the twins say something about moving there after getting the vault map/lilith’s powers, or if we hear from rhys. im expecting something about the vault map, since our vh will admit they don’t know rhys at all when talking to lorelei. but for some reason we need to be within the city limits? since lily says ellie got us within the city limits. 

hmmmmmm. okay, okay, maybe the map was trying to lead us to promethea for vault reasons during that short amount of time that we had it and it was working. maybe promethea is what we see when tannis is activating the key during that one cutscene? ohhh shit how dope would it be if we got that fucking easter egg message? omg “Children of the Vault. Come to Promethea. We are not on Pandora anymore. Tannis is not what she seems. Do not open the Vaults.” and everyone is like ‘uh did that thing just mention Tannis by name??’ and now it’s REALLY important to get the map back just so we can figure out wtf it’s trying to tell us. 

i will question how ‘Tannis is not what she seems’ would affect character relationships, especially if it’s said so early in the game. so perhaps we only hear the first part of the message. maybe it’s corrupted because it was recently broken. iunno. just playing around with ideas. the canon of this game is like flarp putty until sept. 13th

anyway moving on because this is literally the first f r a m e of the video

i like that you can see pandora’s eridian scar. if the destroyer is speaking through eridium to people, it’s gonna bust outta the side of this planet like you wouldn’t fucking believe lmao. eridium is a window to the soul and if you stare long enough into its glossy, shining sides, the destroyer stares back

that or it’s just like a beacon, slowly spreading its influence across the universe. but i like the idea that the destroyer can waltz out of a big enough hunk of eridium. so it will bust out of pandora’s eridium scar. F in chat for pandora but also lmfao the amount of tentacles and rage would be unparalleled.

reality is that the twins are probably farming this scar for eridium to turn into slag for multiple purposes. like brainwashing their cultists, giving them powers, and ensuring their guns have their manufacturer’s quirk (im getting to this in my next post bc im just gonna compile all the ign gun videos into one big post)

the floor art is different from the actual sanc-iii demo. i mention this first in my behind closed doors panel analysis, but im gonna mention it again because this is ~official~. the floor list on the first walkthru of sanc-iii we got had the names of all the crimson raiders and lines leading to their shops. so we had the infirmary/tannis, marcus, moxxi, etc listed on the floor. i imagine this new sanc-iii will change as we get more people on board or if we do a sort of re-decoration of the ship.

also also, it’s cool to see that we have 4 rooms on the minimap, likely one for each of the VHs (and your coop buddies). ive seen speculation that the other, non-played VHs will hang out in their rooms when you’re not playing them, and tbh i really hope this is the case.

we also know this version of sanctuary-iii is after pandora, so there are no promethea citizens aboard yet. which makes me double certain the first sanc-iii video we got takes place either after endgame (explaining why Lily has her tattoos back) or right after Athenas (explaining why Maya is there). which... i mean... spoilers, guys.

on the bright side: bank upgrades increase capacity by 5. with a base of 10, and 8 upgrades, we have 50 slots to fill. which is a big leap from the original 24. it is still a shame we have to share these across characters, tho

offline cultist stream? makes me think the CoV really was trying to steal/take over sanc-iii from the crimson raiders and we went to go take it (back?) in Taking Flight. either the CoV found/ordered Sanc-III, or the crimson raiders were building it/fixing it up, their stronghold got taken over, and the CoV were prepping it for takeover.

the shooting range. and if you notice that little CoV symbol in the bottom left there? yeah pretty much backs up my previous theory

part 4 was just recently released for i7 i think so i’m safely going to guess what’s going to happen in it, i can’t read japanese at all so this is just,,, all random guessing but with canon spoilers lmao

i haven’t read part 3 yet so it’s just a random thing,,, the info provided might be wrong though since i’m trying to remember 99% from the top of my head so don’t take my word, but once again, word vomit!!

i think this part is going to focus on the introduction of a new rival group: zool,,, but more than that, i think the biggest thing that it’ll centre on is nagi’s past and northmarea!! (northmare or northmarea? still have no idea) i’m definitely thinking it’ll also feature haruki!! so there’s actually a secret hidden within the song ‘sakura message’ (sung by i7 ofc) which nagi found out at some point in time (maybe part 3? idk) so anyways the secret message is that haruki was locked up by the royal family in northmarea!! nagi was devastated ofc

which leads to my next guess,,, the amount of foreshadowing in the story is absolutely ridiculous and every time it’s so subtle or quickly brushed off that it’s not even expected to be foreshadowing

but every time it’s hinting at each aspect that’s going to be revealed, like tsumugi and nagi fangirling/ fanboying over chiba shizuo while yamato was around and he’s just like ‘hehhh’ of absolute chagrin when they’re commenting about how cool shizuo is,,, then boom! it’s revealed that chiba shizuo is yamato’s father, like wHOA!!

so regarding the foreshadowing i think the letter i7 received of “one of i7’s members (nagi) is actually a scandanavian prince” is true,,, nagi wasn’t there during that scene so he can’t confirm,,, but like he’s got these absolutely godly skills when talking to the press like he even became takapro’s public relations manager,,, he’s well-off,,, he’s foreign,,, he thinks that people would be pleased if he just did what he wanted,,, and he even acted like the master sometimes during his work experience,,, like that’s a lot of boxes being ticked and there’s a lot hinting that grew up in a family that was well-off at the very least, if not royalty

but i do think he’s royalty because one, there’s a lot of other people talking about it and i’m a person very easily influenced,,, and two, why would the northmarea royal family lock haruki up? i’m safely assuming royal families have a crap load of work to do so investigating and then locking up foreign songwriters (haruki lol) should be the least of their concerns!!

however, if it was their son, nagi’s friend,,, different story altogether, haruki would be one of their main concerns like if nagi is royalty then the people he has close to him is gonna be of extreme importance since he’d be the heir (i think he’s an only child) so they’d lock him up ofc like idk why but “boi, why you teaching nagi about your japanese culture?” but i think it’s extremely unlikely considering it’s been mentioned that nagi’s mother was pretty into japanese culture herself!! maybe she was just curious about haruki,,, which is also extremely unlikely lmao

anyways!! one of zool’s members was hardcore raging their head off at nagi and hated him for sending haruki to an ‘early grave’ because apparently haruki was sick!?!? to elaborate, i think it’s assumed that haruki was deceased until nagi discovers he’s being locked up by the royal family and i’m guessing only i7 knows this!! also, i’m safely assuming it definitely wasn’t just the regular flu so i think it’s some chronic/ terminal illness.

regarding that, haruki could’ve gone overseas to get treatment but he wanted to stay with nagi since they enjoyed each other’s company, and like nagi even said it somewhere if i recall correctly like “haruki, i enjoy your company” so ofc haruki would want to stay at northmarea for nagi (awww cute, friendship goals or nah?? too bad he gets locked up for staying though,,, oof)

on another note, some things to point out. nagi’s canonically mentioned he’s trained in self-defense but taught himself offense!! he can speak fluently in more than 5 languages!! pretty amazing but the focus would be to look at it in the way of that means he’d be excellent at talking with other countries - easier to talk about diplomatic/ political affairs with other countries.

also i7 being his first male friends?? he definitely lived a sheltered life then because if he was extroverted, he definitely would’ve made at least one or two friends!! but that wasn’t the case! and the scenario of royal families having to stay inside to not cause any trouble is something continuously echoed through other games, manga and anime!

but most importantly, during an ep of ‘an idolish night with you’, they have to say their names and nagi’s just like “i’m nagi valhart von north”, like “nagi valhart von NORTH” and “NORTHmarea”?? coincidence or not? and by my standards, that’s a pretty extravagant name suitable for a member of the royal family!! even this pic!! seriously,,, is this not the attire of a prince? or is he just doing the cosplay thing that he enjoys so much? don’t screw with me rokuya nagi

like not even sougo’s name is that extravagant despite coming from a well-off family, like nagi valhart von north vs. osaka sougo?? there’s a big difference, maybe it’s just because he’s foreign though... but if that proves correct, either nagi rokuya is just some fake name or something else, like a name he prefers or a nickname someone gave to him and he just ended up keeping at that

also!! one more thing!! i believe on the part 4 trailer, there was a line that said “i want nagi to come back to japan”, which means he went overseas, most likely to settle the fuss in northmarea with haruki!! also very important that someone’s name in i7 translates into 6, i think it was nagi because it’d definitely make sense this way and at one point it’s mentioned that he says ‘i7 will be ok without me because there’s 6 in the name’

She mentions it once.

“I wanted to be a painter.”

The confession floats like a bubble in the space between them—fragile, fleeting and all too personal. His fingers glide along the silk sheets, searching, till they tangle with hers in a veritable knot of harmony.

“What happened?”

She shrugs, the blanket over them shifting with the movement.

“Life.”

And it’s a testament to how far they’ve come when he doesn’t ask her to further explain, sensing the heartbreak of her father’s death—as fresh now as the day she lost him—in her countenance.

So, she really shouldn’t have been surprised when she wakes up a week later, alone in the penthouse save for an easel, a blank canvas and the best oil painting materials money can buy.

She wants to be angry at the display of wealth at her expense, but she’s really feeling the Rachel McAdams The Notebook vibes when she’s out on the balcony in nothing but her birthday suit, her skin sun-warmed and the white of the canvas slowly dissolving into an explosion of colors.

So she lets it go this one time.

It comes back to her—in simmering gradients sure, but it’s amazing what her hands remember when she doesn’t think too much. Before her abrupt shift in career interests, she recalls how heavily influenced she was by the impressionism art form—specifically portrait painting. Yet she starts with a lot of freestyle and abstract, just to test the waters of her skill. But she’s constantly inspired by Trixie’s own unending creativity and by the people around her, it’s clear that her mind and body are unanimous in abandoning artistic tepidness for passionate expression.

At the very least, it gives her an excuse for her recklessness when Lucifer observes the growing pile of portraits in his abode and cheekily proposes, “Would you consider doing a nude of me? In fact,” he continues with a smirk, “you’d be surprised at the massive amounts of famous nude portraits that are actually based on yours truly—” that she blurts out, “Okay.”

He had been kidding, and so obviously hadn’t expected her eager agreement. But to his credit, his sluggish blink is the only indication of his surprise. Even more befuddling is the seriousness with which he executes the task—an almost clinical detachment when he withdraws to his closet and ditches his clothes.

(She wants to ask where this professionalism goes when they’re working on a case, but is as reluctant as he to break the odd, solemn trance they had fallen in)

“You’re quiet,” she comments, her whisper a comparable shout in the quiet of his apartment. “The moment you dropped your robe, I expected about seventeen innuendos to come flying out of your mouth.”

The same mouth she finds herself centimeters from as she positions him in a way the shadows and light would best compliment his figure—her sweet breath flirting with his ripe, red lips. Idly, she wonders at the colors she’d have to mix and how it still wouldn’t manage to capture the vibrant shade to precision.

“Chloe,” he nearly whimpers, chasing her tongue when she licks her bottom lip as she retreats. “Surely you know by now there is nothing I wouldn’t do to ensure your happiness. I would not take lightly that which so clearly ignites your desire.”

And what the fuck? Who the Hell gave him the right to be so damn wonderful? So achingly haunted but so intrinsically beautiful without him being aware of it?

So with her fingers, she sculpts filigree onto the swooping planes of his flesh, and with her mouth traces exquisite patterns onto the valley of his chest.

She’ll finish the damn portrait, but her love for him is too vast and uninhibited (secretly, she hopes it always remains this way) to limit within the measure of a canvas so just… just for now—

She desires for her hands on his body to do most of the painting.

AN: I really loved writing this. I am so soft for Deckerstar lmao.

It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these, but I’m in the mood for it, so let’s go! Thanks @dimplesandcurlsss for the tag!! If you guys haven’t checked out their work, you totally should. I love it, and they’re so sweet.

1) How many works do you currently have in progress?

UMMMMMMM...... A LOT, LMAO. Fic-wise, I have Shut up and Dance With Me (which is soon to be over, thank god), The Marks We Make, and Shadow of the Past. I’m excited for these projects to finish so I can start new (and shorter) ones. I have a lot of ideas. Original project wise, I have a novel that I’m in the process of (and stuck) editing, as well as an online illustrated novel that I’m planning with @wolfpainters. And then I usually always have some kind of work project in process. So... yeah, a lot of projects. A lot of writing. This is my life.

2) Do you/ would you write fanfiction?

I write far too much, if I’m being honest. But it makes me happy, and I’ll take any ounce of happiness I can get.

3) Do you prefer paper books or ebooks?

If it’s fanfiction, reading online doesn’t bother me. I read on my phone for those, and I don’t mind. However, when it comes to book-books, I prefer paper books all the way. There’s just something good and wholesome about holding a physical book in your hand. The smell, the feeling of it, the whole atmosphere of it. Love it.

4) When did you start writing?

I think... on some level, I’ve always been writing?? Like, I can’t pinpoint when I started, but I used to start projects all the time with friends throughout my childhood. I planned a novel with a friend of mine when we were, like, eleven or twelve?? However, I wrote my first novel length story fifteen-sixteen. IT’S BAD AND MY WRITING HAS IMPROVED SO MUCH. But I did it, and that’s what matters.

5) Do you have someone you trust that you share your work with?

Yeah! @wolfpainters has become my go-to for reading validation. She reads p much everything I write as I write it, and let’s me know that I’m not crazy and that it’s actually good. Like, idk what I’d do without her. Idk HOW I managed to produce anything before her. I’m so reliant on her tbh, lmAO. But now I’ve also got my whole squad who are willing to read my stuff and give me good feedback, and I’m v comfortable sharing with them, too.

6) Where is your favorite place to write?

In order to write, I HAVE to be in a VERY SPECIFIC position. Like, my laptop has to be on my lap, my arms have to be relaxed and falling naturally on the keys, and I usually like my feet propped up on something. This is just my comfortable position, and for some reason I find it hard to write any other way. As for WHERE. I prefer to write outside. That’s where I get the most done. Outside. Which is why it sucks in the dead of winter or in the height of summer.

7) Favorite childhood book

OH LORD, HERE WE GO. I used to read A LOT when I was younger. So let’s go with just the few that I remember loving and that have stuck with me this long: Harry Potter, Tithe, Hawksong, Dragon Bait, Dealing with Dragons, Seventh Tower, His Dark Materials Trilogy. And just... so much more. But those are the ones I remember, and the ones I’ve read multiple times. And the ones I’d go back and read again still today. Maybe I should... hmmmm...

8) Writing for fun or writing for publication?

Both, in all honesty. I write for fun, but the end game is writing for fun AND publication. 

9) Pen and paper or computer?

I love to and have to outline and plan out ideas by hand. It helps me think and organize better that way. I have a journal for all that. But when it comes to writing, I haVE to write on the computer. By hand is too slow and I get too impatient when it comes to actually writing.

10) Have you ever taken any writing classes?

I majored in English with a double concentration in Creative Writing and Professional Writing, soooo... yeah, yeah I have, lmAO. I’ll tell you this tho: I learned absolutely NOTHING in my creative writing classes. They did NOTHING to develop my writing voice, style, or confidence. Professional writing was infinitely more helpful for pretty much everything. 

11) What inspires you to write?

Honestly... everything. That sounds so vague, but like.... EVERYTHING. The whole REASON that I’m a writer is because I’ve ALWAYS been inspired. I used to spend car rides, the time before I slept, in class, just living through stories in my head. Fantasy stories, making shit up, continuing old plot lines. I had so many stories bouncing around in my head at literally all times, and that’s what made me want to be a writer. To get those ideas OUT and somewhere that I could share with others. I’m still like that to this day. I’m p much ALWAYS thinking about a story. It’s what my brain diverts to if left alone for any length of time. I see art, bam, ideas. I do something, bam, ideas. I hear people talk, bam, ideas. I have dreams, bam, ideas. IT’S A PROBLEM WHEN EVERYTHING INSPIRES YOU.

I’ve also found that like... I have a growing tendency to memorialize my memories in the form of fiction?? Like, some people take pictures, and some people journal, and I turn my experiences into fiction to remember them. The Marks We Make is basically a cornucopia of my college experiences hidden in a soumate au. My family went to New Zealand for my dad’s ironman race, and I spent the whole time figuring out how to turn my experiences into a klance oneshot (What We Make of It). I went to a concert with my brother and spent the whole time memorizing everything to turn into another klance oneshot (Moth and Flame). It’s just... how I remember things. By turning my experiences into writing.

(2) Terushima really does just seem like a big dork who loves volleyball haha. I feel like his initial vibe would make me not want to interact v much lol but once you get to know him he's actually a good person. and that tongue piercing tho 👀. "that one definitely hurts a lot more than Falling does" then I think I'm good for awhile hahaha. I've already read a sad hospital AU so I'm going to stay FAR away for now. Honestly I wish there was an interesting story behind it but there's not :')

(3) basically I had an art blog and the name of it was kind of a pun with the word "honeydew." but that nickname was already taken and I wanted to be ~original~ sso I didn't want to use it lol. I still liked the honey aspect though and I thought Honeymoon sounded cute. I'm also kind of a secret hopeless romantic and at the time I kept my identity on my art blog a secret, so it kind of felt like an "alter ego" of mine? long story short I liked the nickname and it kinda stuck haha

ok i mean, to be fair, he was super aggressive when he was meeting kiyoko. but i definitely feel like there’s that dorky side to him LMAO.

i definitely agree though, like, i can’t aggressively fight for one ship over another because it’s literally just not canon. it just feels wrong to “shove that agenda”, so to speak. but it’s always interesting to see all the different character combinations. i never would’ve imagined half of the ones out there if not for this fandom LOL

neutinya’s literally why I have a thing for KuroIwa!! LMAO. i really like the art that they put out. same with bright_stars_45 on IG. Their stuff is literally why i ship Bokuaka soooo hard.

I don't know how it is now, but it was p chaotic and toxic and there was actually controversy surrounding one of those fics. I'm sorry about you and your sister love :( I don't know if you'd ever want to have a strong one with her but I hope you do if you do! and if not then there will always be people you share that with, blood or not 💕

I know being mixed can get super complicated but knowing you have all of those cultures in you in some way is pretty amazing. Honestly I've been undecided for the past 2 years but after everything going on in 2020, I've felt this need to release the truth? no matter what that may be. I know a lot of people say journalism 

(9) isn't an honest profession but, and this will sound arrogant, I want to change that. Even if that just means me being an independent journalist while being an editor to make a living, I'm okay with that. Also it can give you the opportunity to travel, and writing has always been my strong suit. socio is so I can have a better understanding of the world and learn to be less biased and more objective and understanding. my favorite Disney character is honestly Tiana from Princess and the Frog! her hard-working story is hella relatable to me, and it inspired me to be better for myself if that makes sense? 

TBH the most annoying part of being mixed is being called eXoTiC by guys who are tryna sleep with me 💀 there’s definitely a lot of fetishization about it lol

i hella respect that! the need to release the truth. journalism is honestly a raw and authentic profession that people underestimate because they read from biased sources or the things they read isn’t accurate. i have mad respect for you for following that career path! if there’s anything i could do to help, lmk love 💖 TBH, i chose business because i wanted to open my own business and i love psych because i love understanding the world and the people in my lives. psycho-analysing is one of my hobbies hehe. so similar as to why you did socio!

(10) and yes!!!! tbh I've always liked theatre but was never really one for the stage. I was in a child friendly version of macbeth in 6th grade and that was it lol. In my senior year of high school I performed a slam poem about my depression and my teacher called me emotionally constipated lmaoo. and because of how hs went down for me I never got to take classes anyway. I started getting into sfx/film makeup though and I really want to do that! I also just love the energy of backstage tbh

(11) this is getting really long akfdjh. but yeah I want to learn more! I'm actually kind of struggling in my stage management class right now because I honestly don't know much about theatre so it's overwhelming. I haven't even seen a lot of shows (I did see The Lion King when I was a kid though!! and a few hs productions). enough about me though, what's your favorite part, or what are some of your best memories? I love seeing that it makes you so happy :D

i was fortunate enough that my hs had a super talented theatre program that i could be a part of. i had the opportunity to be in both tech, management, and on-stage. i honestly really enjoyed being behind-the-scenes in the management part! it was so great seeing a production from start to finish and knowing that i was involved with that process. i’m a huge theatre nerd tbh 😅 i love watching shows like Phantom of the Opera, Hamilton, RENT and I’ll routinely watch them haha.

thoughts on the tokyo ghoul movie

so I saw it yesterday and woAH the movie was amazing, but I ended up knocking out before I finished typing up all my thoughts, but now that i'm done with all my work for today, it’s time to post my opinions about the live action tg movie!! :D

(this is really long and includes a bunch of spoilers about the movie so it will be under the cut)

Masataka Kubota is an awkward adorable dork, case closed & Hide was really well casted too! 

his cheerfulness and loud attitude really emphasized how opposite and introverted Kaneki is in comparison

I was happy to see that Kaneki’s desk was littered with books (like a crap ton of books), basically mplying he was a literature major without actually stating so + showing his love for books

SEN TAKATSUKI!!!! (sadly she wasn’t there but at least her name was mentioned)

omg Kaneki had such a stupid grin after looking at his calendar marked with "date with Rize"

only noticed it cause I saw it at the TG cafe, but Kaneki had a picture of him and Hide in elementary school taped on the top of his desk

the whole date with Rize was super awkward (especially the pasta part lol) but I think it created a strange (in a good way) tone leading up to the surprise of Rize’s reveal

omg the actress who played Rize was so good too :0 like the the shift in the pitch of her voice from shy and cute to the deeper, sensual one like in the anime when she revealed that she was a ghoul was so gooood

pretty sure the two people I went with were weirded out by how much I was giggling as Kaneki got flung around like a ragdoll by Rize

I thought the funeral scene was a nice touch, showing how Kaneki's been alone for so long (except for Hide of course)

Hide's drawing of a ghoul from the manga was still included even though it didn’t happen in Anteiku in the beginning (instead it was by on Kaneki's Campus notebook which was also on display at the TG cafe)

when Kaneki hallucinates Rize in his room, her shadow was a centipede on the ceiling!!! 

that was a neat reference thrown in for the fans since we don't make it to Aogiri arc in the movie

that was one of the many things that only manga readers would've understood (which made the movie even more fun for me since that means if was made with that intention and care)

askdflkef when Touka threw cake at Kaneki after getting pissed off I was just like "lmao he's gonna get you a cake for your wedding later you know"

once again, of course Nishiki was perfect casting

I laughed a little too hard when Kimi was embarrassed & Nishiki kept staring at her chest with a blank stare while Hide and Kaneki just kinda stood at the door to his room

the Kaneki licking Hide's face scene™ was so funny (there’s all the Hidekane we gonna get y’all)

one thing that was real cute (cause it happened several times throughout the movie) was Touka telling Kaneki that he was an idiot and to stop crying and after the 1st time (when he learned he could drink coffee), Touka started saying it in a teasing tone rather than an angry one

the scene where Mado and Amon were introduced was actually pretty intimidating, it was right after they killed Hinami’s dad and Mado had Amon smash the ghouls hands with a rock that got bloodier as he continued (luckily the hand was off screen) in order to open

Amon's actor whoo boy (even my mom thought he was hot lmao)

oh my the scene where Mado held up the donut and asked "can you fall in love with this,” Amon was just staring at the donut (but we all know he was nodding inside guys)

(ok now this is me writing the day after aka today and I'm already forgetting the order of certain scenes so this may be slightly out of order rip)

Yoriko was so cute!!!! her actress was really pretty I wish we saw more of her... 

I thought the food scene was kinda awkward though since it's wasn't at their school, but it was funny when Kaneki asked to have some too and Touka wouldn't let him have any

I was trying to look for Touka's bunny charm but I didn't notice it!! I did see something on Yoriko's bag though???

the “shuu” kanji scene was done a little differently but I liked it more

lol Hinami first asked Touka how to read the kanji but she didn’t know (because Touka-chan is bad at Japanese) so Kaneki explained

then Touka was just like "haha yeah that's it" pretending that she had just forgotten and Hinami straight savage calls her out, saying that Touka didn't know in the first place

Kaneki and Hinami both giggled at Touka and ahhh it was so cute, they felt like a family

the process in which Amon, Mado, and Kusaba determined who Ryouko and Hinami were made A LOT more sense in the movie than the animeit showed almost the entire process of them finding evidence starting from simply a string of fabric left behind on Hinami’s father’s clothes

*winks aggressively at Ishida and the director for the graffiti of a scythe and XIII in the background*

Hajime made his cameo the same way he did in the manga (and BOY DID I WANNA SLAP HIM RIGHT THERE that kid has a shady look on his face already I stg)

oh yeah the kagune! I thought they looked pretty decent actually

I liked how the scales shimmered and stuff, but of course some scenes kinda looked too CGI-y (especially the fight with Nishiki)

#blessed that they included the "I would be sad if you died Touka-chan scene"

the training montage with Kaneki and Touka / Amon was so cooooool (ok stfu Alyssa you just loved it cause you got to see strong Touka & shirtless Amon)

omg Kaneki apologizing after landing a hit on Touka for the first time was adorable ok

Touka's overalls when they went to HySy were really cute. I want to draw it when the movie comes out online later

idk why but I kept laughing at the little wrist watch radios that Amon and Mado had on their arms to contact each other???? it was just really weird and funny to see for some odd reason

ohh ok probably one of my favorite scenes was when Kaneki just started fucking speeding towards Amon's car which caused him to jam the brakes (bc some random hooded dude is just sprinting towards you in the middle of the street what else would you do)

then Kaneki just freakin jumps on it all slow mo and flips it over because he's dramatic like that

idk if this was in the manga but Doujima rotated and grinded Kaneki's kagune during the fight (which made more sense then a lollipop that Amon just swings around)???

besides some of the awkward shots in the movie, my only other criticism was that some of the fight scenes were drawn out way too long

Amon and Kaneki's was ok for the most part, but Touka and Mado's fight felt REALLY drawn out. they kept just standing and talking a lot

I tried it on when I was at the cafe but seeing Kaneki wearing the mask during his fight was way cooler and the shot of him unzipping it was noice 

when Kaneki started losing his sanity during the fight with Amon, Kubota had this really psychotic laugh that made me giggle a lot ahhh

yo guys there was a bloody tear from Kaneki's ghoul eye that dripped onto Amon's right eye (his future ghoul eye)... like much wow such foreshadowing director/ishida

near the end, Amon brings flowers to Mado’s grave, but sadly Akira doesn’t show up cryy

all in all I thought it was a very enjoyable, pretty accurate adaptation (definitely one of the best anime live actions & *cough* better than the anime)

I went with two people who knew very little about TG, except for it’s premise, and they thought the movie was really good themselves (although a little too much blood in one of their opinions). Throughout the movie there was a bunch of hidden stuff for fans & probably a bunch more symbolism that I missed so I can't wait to rewatch it in the future (I wish I could go see it again this week tbh) and find even more stuff!!

oh one more thing! the credits were really pretty with BANKA playing in the background and there was some cool art during the scroll
